oh my god, literally on my knees for kindergarten teacher! dick grayson, you genius
Tumblr media
he's got the fun class, his class is always up for mischief
all you hear if you walk past his classroom, is little giggles from his students
whenever it's one of his students birthday's, he'll always have a gift ready for them
his kiddos love story time, because as I quote "Mr Grayson does the funniest voices"
now the first time you met him, is when your daughter Lily is a new student (moving to a new city is daunting for a little girl and her single mum)
being the new kid is daunting, let alone when you're in kindergarten, but Dick made sure to make sure she's welcomed into his class
he has a special lolly jar for when the kiddos get rewarded for something good
he figured that's a sure way to get her to be less shy
at the end of the school day, she was all smiles and giggles. Bouncing on the spot near Dick, while seeing you walk towards the two of them
Dick's eyes widen as he first saw you, you literally took his breath away
when you bent down to your daughters level and smothered her in kisses while hugging her, he couldn't help but melt and smile at the scene
"Lily made a lot of friends and just between you and me, I kind of got her to open up with some lollies"
finally looking up, you were greeted with the most dashing smile and ocean blue eyes that gazed at you softly. This man was downright pretty
both of you trying to keep your composure, as you both looked at each other
introducing each other with soft smiles and a handshake, you both swore you felt an electric zap run through you as your fingers touched
from there you always made sure to arrive at least 10mins early for after school pick up time, just to get the chance to talk to him
it starts out with small things, asking how about each others day, funny things that happened in his class, to asking what's happening on the weekend
one day, when you were dropping Lily off to her class, she handed you a small bunch of lilies, slyly saying it's for Mr. Grayson. As you watch her run to her friends and giggle (our little matchmaker)
walking up to Dick, you tapped his shoulder, and once again you're mesmerised by those blue eyes
"...are those for me?"
shyly nodding and handing him the flowers "Lilies, because well I guess you can tell they're my favourite because of Lily"
hearing that laugh instantly made you feel warm, wanting nothing more than to always hear it, every morning and every night
it wasn't until the end of the school week that Dick finally got the courage to ask you out
the classic, dinner, movie and the late night dessert spot
you two sitting across from each other in the booth at the ice cream shop, his eyes are sparkling as he listens to you
leaning across from the table, he reached for the little bit of whipped cream on the corner of your lips
"....there...." he whispered as he licked the whipped cream off his thumb
your breath hitched as you watched him
"Dick....?"
"Yeah sweetheart?"
"Kiss me"
your first kiss was as sweet as the ice cream, soft but delicate
it's 3 months when he asked you to be official, of course with the help of Lily
the moment you two told her, she couldn't help but giggle and say confidently "you're welcome, can I be the flower girl for the wedding?"
you both said I love you during a quiet night where he spent the night at your place, cuddling and talking about whatever came to mind
when you have a day off, you stop by his classroom and have lunch together
a lot of sneaky make out sessions (it's hard when you have a 5 year old in the apartment)
the night when Lily is with her grandma, that's when you and Dick had a romantic dinner, he cooked. With you distracting him with kisses on his neck, a few pecks and hands roaming under his shirt
he was soft and gentle when you two made love for the first time

@jilymicrofics | February Prompt List | No.25: Jam words: 390, Read it on AO3
The muggle side of London was a lot more hustle and bustle than James was used to in the streets of Diagon Alley. These people were also a lot less likely to say ‘excuse me’ and ‘sorry’ when they bumped into his elbows and nearly sent him sprawling to the pavement. The best he’d gotten was a grunt and a gruff “Watch where you’re bloody going!
It was overwhelming to say the least. Why couldn’t they have just eaten ice cream back at Fortescue’s? Lily had been insistent they go to a place she knew in muggle London. He just hoped being nearly trampled to death was worth it.
They’d been stood in line for the shop for twenty minutes already and they weren’t even near the front door yet, the line sprawling up the high street.
“I don’t see what all the fuss is about,” he grumbled. “We could have got our order and eaten it by now if we’d stayed in Diagon.”
“But they don’t do my favourite flavour in Diagon! You really ought to branch out of your comfort zone more James. If we’re going to date you need to get more used to muggles. Look the line’s moving!” Said his girlfriend cheerfully, though in reality they’d only moved up a couple of spaces.
James was sweating by the time the ice cream parlour came into view. There was nothing extraordinary looking about it. But it must be good if the line was as long as it was. A black chalk board had been placed outside listing the ice cream available indoors. Reading it James thought they’d accidentally found themselves at a factory for Bertie Bots Every Flavour Beans. He’d never heard of such flavours.
Peanut butter cookie dough
Lolly cake
Boysenberry cheesecake
Roasted white chocolate miso
Coconut caramel and sesame
White chocolate pomegranate macadamia
Blackberry sage and honey
“Jam on toast is the best one,” Lily insisted. “Tastes like the genuine article.”
James had to taste test everyone at least once with a little wooden spatula before he decided on the blackberry sage and honey. But he had to agree the Jam on toast had been quite good. Perhaps the trip had been worth it after all. If not for the ice cream, for the smile on Lily’s face. Muggle London wasn’t so bad after all.

❝ When I was a kid, people used to make fun of me for eating chapstick. Well . . . if I wasn't supposed to eat it, why'd they make it taste so good? ❞
Tumblr media
Seline is a villager who lives in Pelican Town who is often chatty and adventurous, loves art, and always gets injured. She works at the Blacksmith most days between 9am to 4pm and has a busy social life. She goes to Zuzu City on Fridays and has weekends off. She’s available to marry.
Monday, Wednesday
9am — she wakes up 30 minutes before she is scheduled to work , rushes through a half - baked morning routine ( wash face, moisturize + spf, lipgloss, go ). she shows up late most days but especially on monday. 10:30am — ever the silly little drink enthusiast, seline takes an inappropriately long morning break to find a caffeinated, syrupy concoction. she also picks up a Little Treat to make herself feel better for being late ( again ). if she's low on funds, she'll trot back to her house & make a drink there. she might throw on some eyeliner and mascara if she's feeling like it. during this 15-20 minutes, seline is hard to find. 1pm — by now, she's hungry for a Bigger Treat and finds somewhere to eat lunch. on nice days she will throw something together at 1am the night before & eat it outside. if she's super busy or inspired, she'll eat it at work and doodle. sometimes, she'll make her way over to wherever ( or whoever ) has something to eat. 4pm — home to shower, change into something more comfortable, and waste time. on nice days, she takes the long way home. she might go around and visit some of the residents or lolly-gag near the icecream stand. 5 pm — seline makes her way to her shed-turned-art studio and gets to work on her newest creation. 9 pm — she finishes up, goes inside for a late supper, does her quick 4 step skin care routine and some light chores. 12 am — seline is in bed reading fanfiction, trying to get her brain to shut up so she can sleep for work tomorrow !
Tuesday, Thursday
9am to 5pm is the same as monday and wednesday. after work, however, she will make a point to go to the beach and search for seaglass. 6pm onwards — seline is open for interactions and different plans. if unplanned for, seline will go to the skatepark and hangout with her sketchbook.
Friday
8am — seline wakes up disgustingly early ( for her ) with a lot of excitement. she packs a small bag with her daily essentials ( peach lip gloss, water bottle, spf, emergency hat + umbrella, phone charger, headphones ). she eats a big breakfast. 9am to 6pm — she packs up all of the glass creations she has completed this week and makes her way to zuzu city where she drops them off at a few shops she has consignment agreements with. she also puts up a few posters about her commissions. if she has time, she will stick around and shop or visit some art galleries, but she mostly tries to stick to her plan. 7pm onwards — seline either has other plans or you can find her at the stardrop saloon, socializing or sitting down and sketching some new ideas to get up to this weekend.
Saturday
this day is completely free for seline, but she sleeps in extra and then explores the valley for materials she can create art with. there are many-a-trip to the beach for sea glass hunting & she often goes by the general store to bug maude if they're working or look through the recycling bins for glass bottles.
Sunday
seline cannot be found anywhere besides her workshop from dusk til dawn. you'd have to be very special for her to spend time with you on a sunday. on the occasional day where seline does not have muse, she might have a "self care day" and spend the entire time in a blanket fort in her bedroom watching reruns.

I’m doing my dissertation with Flowers in the Attic as a case study! Penny for your thoughts?
Okay, with the caveat that I haven’t a clue what your dissertation is on so not sure how relevant any of these thoughts are – here I go!
Note – this contains spoilers for Flowers in the Attic.
Who is the target audience for Flowers in the Attic?
This is not me describing the target audience.
This is me not having a clue what the intended audience is for a book that features phrases like "Oh, golly-lolly!" as well as erotic descriptions of a toddler’s underwear.
I read this for the first time when I was about 12 and again now I’m nearing my thirties. The first time round, it felt naughty and like I was reading something that was clearly Adult Literature. Now, I see the childlike phrases and excessive use of exclamation marks and think it’s not just because of the narrator, but because of the audience as well.
Like, this book is twee.
It’s about so many layers of incest and child abuse and neglect and religious extremism and repression and it somehow manages to be twee. HOW?
The incest (let’s just get that over with)
Everyone in this family is into everyone. My edition has questions at the back for a book club discussion, and one of them goes:
Had their father not died and they were all still living together, do you think Cathy and Chris would have instead developed sexual feelings for their parents? Why or why not?
And like, those sexual feelings are there the entire way through.
Cathy wants a husband like her father, who gives her a ring and ‘vows to forever love my Cathy just a little bit more than any other daughter’. When their mother calms Chris down, you get a paragraph like ‘Kiss, kiss, kiss finger his hair, stroke his cheek, draw his head against her soft, swelling breasts, and let him drown in the sensuality of being cuddled close to that creamy flesh that must excite even a youth of his tender years.’
Like – Okay! Cool! That is a way to describe your mother! And your brother! Like, this could just be an embrace between a mother and her son and instead it becomes this incredibly loaded, sexual passage. And that happens constantly. The narrative is obsessed with sex, with the sin it might bring and with the changes bodies go through to make it happen. I didn’t count how often Cathy thinks with jealousy of her mother’s breasts but it’s a recurring theme, and I’m kind of glad their father died before Cathy hit that part of puberty because I do not need to hear whatever feedback he’d have given her when she first goes shopping for a bra.
The Aryan perfection
Did you know they are blond? And blue-eyed? And so pretty, prettier than anyone else their age? Perfect? Like dolls? Did you get that??
Maybe it was a eugenics plan to maintain the most Aryan family in the universe, but good lord, has Cathy internalized it.
The good bits
After Cathy and Chris have a sexual encounter where he kisses her breasts after stabbing her with scissors, Cathy asks:
“Chris – what we did just now – was it sinful?”
Again, he cleared his throat. “If you think it so, then it was.”
I’m too early in my thoughts to have anything very coherent to say about this, but it does show their complex relationship with sexuality in a really interesting light. Does anything other than P-in-V count as sex? What is the boundary between normal familiar affection and incest? (Personally, I’d say the family cross the line from ‘normal familiar affection’ constantly but equally, I can see why kissing people on the mouth doesn’t have to be inherently sexual or inappropriate. It’s just that V.C. Andrews’s prose makes everything sexual.)
I also thought it was very bold of VCA to have Chris describe the sex as ‘rape’ immediately after it has happened. Keeping in mind that this book came out in 1979, he is the romantic lead, and it was (I think???) aimed at teenage girls, I was not expecting them to name the beast by its name. Even if Cathy assures him it wasn’t rape (and let’s not get into the victim blaming paragraph, jfc), having it out in the open immediately? Actually sensational.
On a different familiar note, I loved the way they kept waiting for their mother to return and the way their love faded differently for all of them. Cathy’s turning to bitterness sooner (prompted by jealousy over Chris’s affection?), versus the twins becoming alienated and addressing her as ‘Ma’am’ by the end… And yet that constant hope that she’ll show up, the disappointment when she brings gifts rather than freedom…
Corinne’s wilful closing of her eyes to justify the neglect haunted me– the way she stops looking at the twins, doesn’t see how Chris and Cathy are maturing. Especially because Cathy is in exactly the age where so much is changing in her body and there is the horror of being perceived (the paragraph where she describes wearing loose clothing to hide her new curves and feeling like she’s being seen anyway – I remember that.)
And at last: the reveal of the arsenic. Iconic.
The bad bits
Other than the writing (so many exclamation marks!! What the fuck!!! The action of going down the stairs doesn’t need this emphasis!!!!!), I just want to say, with my whole heart, that the twins are the most annoying characters in literature. And their insistence at the start that everyone will surely love them, they are so cute and perfect?
Honestly, if I’d been the grandmother, I’d have thrown them out of the window during their first tantrum.
Overall verdict
Do I like this book? I don’t know. I tried to come up with more bits that I disliked, but everything – the twee-ness, the weird sexualization of everything, the “Oh boy”s and stilted dialogue – it all feels very organically entwined. I definitely understand why it became a middle school obsession when it came out in 1979 and it’s going to haunt me for quite a while to come, I think.
I don’t think I’ll read any of the follow-ups, but I might (might) treat myself and reread the De Beers series one day, or that one set in New Orleans with the evil twin. VC Andrews(‘s ghostwriter) was not afraid to go big and there is a certain appeal to such shameless commitment to drama.

REUNION(S) | PART I ༊*·˚
synopsis: a smol storyline; home-alone Charlotte struggles to find ways to have a pleasant Christmas content warning: ꒰Rayan x Olivia꒱ romance; urge to throw Rayan off a cliff might rise, no xxx word count: 1.4k author's note: before Xie(Olivia) comes at me, the romance is not heavy, ily.
Tumblr media
It was Christmas week, technically two days before Christmas. Viviana and Olivia had invited me to hangout with them, exploring the decorated streets and flowery-scented shops. I agreed since I had no plans for Christmas. Clyde was out for work, and I was all alone. He did say he would try to return sooner, but the seemingly closing day made it sound elusive.
“You need to get out of the rat hole you’ve created in the place you once called your house.” Olivia rebuked, glaring at the wrappers of lollies and chips behind me. I sighed, lowering the volume of my laptop and scratching my ears. “I can hear you well enough even if you whisper,” I mumbled under my breath, sliding the packets underneath my blanket.
“Oh my god, Eli-” The reprimand was thankfully cut off by Viviana, who laughed and leaned over her palm. “Charlotte, if you were single, we would be cuddling and fucking under the very blanket you’ve covered yourself with.”
I grinned, falling back on the edge of the couch while fixing the mattress I was sitting on. Olivia, just, rolled her eyes, making my grin turn into a giggle. Suddenly, there was a rush over me. My smile faltered, and I sighed. There was a huge silence over the call and I felt my lips wobble while I wriggled my hands. “Guys, I miss him.”
Viviana groaned, her tone turning accusative. “Look, Olivia. That’s why I told you we should reach there early. Charlotte, baby. Don’t cry.” Her words made a broken sob leave my mouth, and I heard Olivia curse. “Eli, don’t cry. He’ll be back soon.” I wiped my tears with the sleeves of the sweatshirt and shoved another piece of candy in my mouth.
“Are the cramps painful, baby?” Vivi asked in a soft tone. I shook my head, looking at the screen, “My date is near. It’s just pre-mood swings.”
-
After the call, I went straight up to the laundry, putting his clothes to wash, because for the past three weeks, I had solely been wearing his clothes.
My phone rang, and the familiar tone made me squeal as I jumped on my feet before hurrying to the living room. Jumping on the couch with every ounce of excitement, I picked up the call. It had started snowing outside, and the glass door of the living area, separating the cosy hall from the house garden could give a full view of white cotton falling from the sky.
“Hi, bubu.” I grinned, resting the phone on speaker while laying on the couch over my belly, swaying my legs.
“Hi, baby. How are you?” I could hear him smiling, and my heart fluttered. I felt like crying though, I missed him a lot.
“I am pretty upset, just going to turn in my husband for not calling me for the past…3 hours.” I tried changing my tone, but he laughed on the other hand.
“I can hear you smiling while you say that, Charlotte. And I’m sorry, baby. I was stuck in a meeting.” He spoke before I heard some muffled sounds behind him. It was an incoherent trail of conversation, I could barely understand anything.
“Mhm, I know I know.” I sighed, plopping on my back and holding the phone in my hands. “Can I video call you?” I asked vaguely when Vivi’s text popped up on my screen.
“No baby, I need to go now. I’ll text you in an hour. I love you, Darla. Take care of yourself.” He babbled before declining the call.
My head tilted, trying to process what just happened. Suddenly, Olivia’s caller id popped up. It was a video call and the moment I picked up the call, I admitted, “He’s cheating on me.”
Olivia, who was apparently going to elaborate on Vivi’s text, opened her mouth agape in pure bewilderment. “How can you even think that?”
A pout formed on my lips. “You know, I heard some woman talking to him on the call. And he even abruptly put the call off saying he’s busy.”
Olivia rolled her eyes, shaking her head in disbelief. “You’re overthinking. Sleep, Eli. And yes, for tomorrow’s Christmas Eve, Vivi and I are coming to your home. So please clean the mess that you’ve made like a kid. Don’t overthink, he’s not cheating on you.”
Now that she mentioned sleep, I felt sleepy. But if he was cheating on me, I swear to God. Sighing, I threw the phone aside and snuggled against the cushion, pulling over the blanket and dozing off to sleep.
-
Suddenly, the blanket was snatched off. Despite the heater working perfectly amazingly, a chill ran down my spine but I was too lazy to open my eyes.
I whined against the cushion that was tucked cosily in my arms, "Clyde, what are you doing? Let me sleep-" my eyes fell open as I jolted up.
Clyde was not at home.
“Xie? Vivi?” Of course, if not him, it must be them. They said they would be here for tomorrow’s day.
I sat back on the couch, the lights were out. Looking out the glass door, I found it was already nighttime. The snow was glowing under the garden lamp. Though, I could barely outline the silhouette of anything inside the hall.
Shit, did someone break in?
I tried to search for my phone. It was not on the couch. A sigh of exasperation left me, and I got up, carefully keeping my foot on the floor without making any noise while squinting my eyes to look around.
I kept my foot on something…cracky. The crispy screech right beneath me made me flinch and sob.
“What the fuck?” The mood swings were not helping at all. My eyes could barely see anything, the tears came to bless its way.
Suddenly, my phone buzzed. The dim light coming from beside the couch received another cry from my heart. How thankful I was for the caller.
Rushing up and picking up the phone, I saw it was him. Simultaneously, my gaze fell on the time. It was thirty past ten at night. My heart fell, but I answered the call.
“Baby? I’m sorry I was busy, I couldn’t-” My frustrated sigh cut him off. “Let’s talk later, I’m busy right now,” I spoke before declining the call.
“Fuck these lights.” Grumbling under my breath, I headed outside the room. Why was it so dark?
“Charlotte.” I flinched hard, who was this? Whipping myself around, I searched for any sign of visibility.
“You found your phone.” Eh? My face scrunched in confusion.
The person sighed, before speaking again, “Turn on the flashlight, Rat.”
Oh. It was a man.
Rat.
Oh.
Oh?
My fingers stabbed into the screen before flogging the white light in that direction, and the moment I saw him, my eyes rolled with a loud curse. Over six feet, arrogance plastered on his face like nature’s gift, hands folded in front of his wide chest, eyebrows furrowed in clear disappointment but with no surprise that I was still as stupid as ever.
“Who the fuck let you enter inside?”
Rayan Emir Yildiz, a famous architect in Dubai, my childhood best friend but more of an overprotective brother, four years older than me and conceited as fuck.
Throwing a pillow on his face, I rolled my eyes again and when I found the switches off and the MCB had fallen, I glared at him. He shrugged, responding to my unasked question nonchalantly, “You were sleeping.”
“I would wake up,” I stated, clearly annoyed, “and why were you standing there like Enderman?”
“Didn’t expect you to.” He mumbled but I heard him, throwing another cushion at him. Catching it effortlessly, he walked towards the couch and made it up. “The heater was melting the ice on my boots pretty amazingly.”
My eyes darted on his boots, orbs almost falling on the ground when I whipped my head and saw the muddy wet footprints he had marked in my entire living room. A loud groan left my throat. “Rayan, tomorrow is Christmas Eve! Look what mess you’ve created.” Plopping down on the chair, I stared at the mess.
“I think the house was already under the impact of the earthquake and the volcano eruption–” he pointed at me for that– “tornado–” he picked up the mat, revealing the empty wrappers of junk. I averted my gaze and looked around the living as I felt my cheeks turning red in slight embarrassment– “and now just a little touch of the flood.” He nudged his head towards his boots.
“Tsunami.” I corrected, giving him a sweet grin. “And you’re planning evacuation and before that, managing the casualties all by yourself. You’ll find your troops in the bathroom which is on the left turn the moment you leave this area. Good luck, Soldier.” I stood up and patted his back, heading to my room upstairs when his words stopped me dead in my tracks.
“Olivia called me here.”
They both are finally seeing each other?

PREVIOUSLY ON CHAPTER 7.7
7TH DIMENSION WATTPAD VERSION LINK (I am entirely ahead on this site now. 7th Dimension on Wattpad has now accumulated more than 10 chapters. There are minimal scenes back in the previous chapters which has been altered there, so sorry about to those who only read my updates through Tumblr because there might be some differences in Satoru's characteristics which has been changed on Wattpad already, yet y'all are bound to read the altercations in further chapters. Heehee.)

Characters: Gojo Satoru x Small!Naive!Fem!Foreign!Reader | THIS IS A MULTI-CHAPTER FIC. THIS IS AN X READER FANFIC WHO HAS BEEN BROUGHT TO THE DIMENSION OF JUJUTSU KAISEN | (Trust me, you'll live. I hope?)
Summary: (Part 9) Mind Training with Gojo Satoru had been beneficial to the both of you. You were given a mission to bake him sweets and in return of earning a 10/10 rating from the Great Teacher Gojo would result for a Shopping Spree treat from the Strongest Jujutsu Sorcerer alive. Additional Summary for this chapter: From your transference of your world to Satoru's have been actually forecasted by an undisclosed diviner that obscured his prophesies in the dark. Nonetheless, what was meant to be envisioned for you had all been a trifling matter because he had seen nothing but a nullity of a future set out as you walk upon Satoru's dimension. Except for the fact that Fukumoto Daichi knew you also were an erudite when it came to the happenings that was set forth for the Jujutsu Society in the near future.
Warnings: Fukumoto Daichi is not a character from Jujutsu Kaisen along with Sasaki Hibito as well. They're both OG characters created by me. | Satoru's still being Satoru. Other than the menace being a menace, none. Just a lil' bit suggestive somehow because Satoru's sexy as heck---*rolls on the ground*

Disclaimer: PNG's or pictures used in edits, also those posted are not mine especially the GIF's. (I dunno how to make GIF's 😭 Tell me if the GIF's are yours so I could probably tag/credit you, bb's!) I only own the plot of 7th Dimension. But, not Jujutsu Kaisen's storyline and the characters themselves. OG characters are created by me and will be stated during my brief author's notes. I apologize for the typos or grammatical errors by the way! English isn't my first language so I'm so sorry in advance! Character development and personalities are based from my understanding and how I want them to be for the sake of the story.

YOU'VE PATIENTLY WAITED FOR THE TRAIN ON THE SIDE. Another ice-lolly on hand that Satoru has promised to invest you in. His own strawberry popsicle guzzled within seconds. As expected from an unusual man who had a terrible, gnarly sweet-tooth. There wasn't much people that bordered. The veiled excitement balling upon your soles, making you senselessly wriggle those toes of yours inside your shoes, playing along your weight with the heels of your feet as it appeared like a child eager to be taken to the first destination of her field trip.
Bzzt. Bzzt. Satoru could feel his phone vibrate inside his pockets. The default ring tone of his cellphone pealing out loud, over and over again.
He never cared to put it on silent. Unmoved by how it look as though he was definitely needed to be somewhere.
Gojo was doing it on purpose. Ignoring the call, that is. In no circumstance did he bother to answer again as he knew it was either Yaga ranting and raving for his irresponsibleness or Ijichi being chided for his faults that has been put to the assistant director's blame.
"You're not answering that?" your tone seemed mirthful than ever, bringing the stuff toy below your chin while the other held onto the wooden stick. The cold dessert you were clutching onto was now polished off to the ends; the piece of wood aimed directly at Satoru's phone that was kept inside the pocket of his jeans.
You've held a palm out to him, signaling for him to wait as your feet skipped through the cemented grounds, throwing the garbage inside the proper recycling bin. Even though, Satoru did not appear to be looking. He basically was keeping track of where you walked upon.
Filled with vim. Your feet having the springs as you've pranced back, being all smiles and giggly. He'd given you his regard and another of his toothy grins, intentionally ignoring your question.
"You should at least hide your excitement, Tiny-Chan."
The train was fast enough for you to emit a sound of excitement; a faint squeal that went straight passed out of your mouth, heedless that you've ought to say it out loud. The train speaker declared its standard procedures in their native language, stating upon which station they were currently in---where both you and Satoru are located in.
You've taken short, overjoyed leaps through the entryway, snapping your head from left to right once situated inside and saw how there weren't a lot of people aside from a college looking student who had thick, square eyeglasses that sat on the farthest end of the train over the boundary where another hatch were interloping and connecting with the other door, a periphery of the area.
This stranger had his head leaning along the window behind him. He'd audibly sighed his frustration out underneath his breath. Mind elsewhere, currently in a pensive state as he was burdened over complications that has happened with his work and towards subsidiary affairs.
Activities which can be considered as a religion he worshipped. A lone divinity adulated by a faction of individuals they've devoted their lives for, depending on their own scriptures or gospels delivered by a deity they offer all their reliance on. People were of many creeds and cultures. Humanity embodied boundless beliefs. Divine beings reverenced by traditions that were established years before.
Each one had their own doctrines of predestinations. It was just a matter of faith or a member of the human race to perceive and accept their designated sects with accepted pieties and the sanctity of one.
"If 'Toru' has a tiny spot of grime...I'm strangling you alive, Satoru!"
You've caught this stranger's attention when you've given a loud, rowdy exclamation of your own irrefutable threat. The man lethargically blinked to himself, keeping his head away from the window before he'd been knocked for six, blinking another as if he couldn't believe his eyes.
"Is that..." His submerged mind went above the apprehension of reality, own dwellings surfacing in between a quandary that emerged for an unsought time. Incredulity and dread loaded his disbelieving spirits. Own nerves malfunctioning, putting a kibosh on worrying over the mistakes he'd been berated back on a work he'd been receiving money from.
The faction comprehended him clearly. Six months. Half a year after dooms day, Fukumoto Daichi was to be reborn again. Right after on the succeeding date that every Jujutsu Sorcerer has been oblivious for. An ill-starred time that no one would've been aware of.
Their world's downfall for only a minute of time where each one was bound to suffer in successive unforeseen deaths.
Fukumoto Daichi had seen what was written in the stars.
Through every calamity; every stroke of bad luck from every Jujutsu Sorcerer's decisions till the contretemps of what Satoru's dimension provided them with. Natural disasters that couldn't be controlled till the resoluteness of cursed-spirits that has been casted to the sides---thrown towards the tenebrosity of their world because of one's existence. He'd detected them all. They were au courant with the eventualities and incidents. Every member finding utmost trust to his divine providence that he offered to their faction.
But, to his ordinance---a god-forsaken commandment, Fukumoto Daichi had announced his sacrilege was to never stand in the way of what fate had for their dimension.
No matter what it takes.
Undeterred by the laden consequences, deplorable conditions and egregious circumstances that he'd foreseen before his demise.
Even if it meant for their world to collapse into complicated, torn pieces.
Only Sasaki Hibito was the sole person to apprehend what was said between the lines of their overseer in the subject matter of a woman; a substantial commination to the tenets of Fukumoto.
This threat he'd distinguished to be. Fukumoto foreknows everything. The image of your face which had his sanction flabbergasted by the details. Yet, barely laying hold of what you provided for Satoru's world other than the sketches he envisaged because your existence; your life, your motives or plans ahead, to Fukumoto he'd seen nothing but a nullified cloud of obscurity. Withholding bupkis of your astral influence that he could not predict.
Hence, which is why he'd made it intelligible for everyone---to everyone meant that only Hibito had understood the obligation imparted to those who were vacated that you were entailed to be terminated.
It was either to decimate or keep you constrained no matter who ended up escorting you through your unnecessary pilgrimage on their land.
Nevertheless, the scene that he was welcomed with---bringing you with them to a standstill required sedulous care. An all-embracing endeavor and a life of toil for each member of their religion that it would take a chucklesome illusion of pigs flying in the air.
Perhaps, keeping you detained within their grasp would be impossible.
Because you were guided---deemed to be protected and shepherd around Japan by the strongest jujutsu sorcerer in their world.
How fearsome it was to see you with him. Even mind-boggling to get a drift of such appearance that were an absolute reciprocity of Fukumoto Daichi with an opposite gender that they had prophesied for. Though, to no extent did they have any idea where, when and how you would make an appearance.
Hibito's hand couldn't help but shake just by being in the presence of him alone. Those fingers of his that trembled from trying to clean his own glasses with the fabric of his shirt. His lungs that began shaking like a leaf.
Those of the members within his faction who had seen Gojo Satoru in the flesh have been right. It was either you get intimidated or terrorized by the judgements you had for his potentials, exhibit abhorrence for his existence and hubristic side or have a bit of both.
There was no in between if he doesn't plan to keep you close within his range. Physically, mentally and spiritually.
Only those who were of palsy-walsy are to witness what and who Gojo Satoru really was. Apparently, Hibito was not one.
Master Daichi knocked together a plan of action that was paradoxical to begin with if what he depicted were not of an illusion fabricated during his stressed out conditions.
Hibito brought back his glasses to where it was situated in the first place. Lenses all limpid that he'd happen to fall further on his seat. An expected migraine taking place from the image.
You really were with the honored one. The inheritor of the limitless and six-eyes.
"Out of all damned people...She was supposed to be with us," Hibito mentally thought to himself, shunning his eyes away from both you and Satoru who kept bickering like you did not care for the world. He kept his eyes straight, disregarding your presence on purpose.
Nevertheless, his own leg seemed to be jiggle when he began to cross them. His own nerves deceiving him through the thoughts, logics and false providence that followed; his soul outright aware of Satoru who was just meters away from him and knowing he had the capability to die with one phony act he makes when he appears to be like he knew him and his history along the Jujutsu Society.
It would always end up with the question, 'How'. In which, Hibito could forebode their sub rosa patrols that involved time ahead and revealing them all would have him dying first before he could.
"Ooooh. Scary! A threat coming from a teeny-weeny girl," Satoru teased and taunted, shifting on his seat as he leaned his head to the side, sending you a charming, skittish beam, "---A threat that's entirely impossible to happen. Heh." he'd lowly chuckle to himself, leaning closer to your face to offer more of his mischief and irritating taunts, "---I'd love to see you struggle."
"You've already gotten him dirty because you threw him off!" you've groused with a grimace, huffing back to him and taking the stuff toy in between you both, emphasizing your forefinger and drawing beads on where the exact smudges were. Showing him the tiny specks of dust that it has gotten from his previous reckless actions back at the photo booth.
"Eh. It's only a tiny speck of dust. You should've chosen a different plushie then. You had options. Either a black one or the horrid, white one." Satoru nonchalantly stated, his voice light as he leaned his broad shoulders back, crossing his arms but having his legs spread enough for you to chastise him for in which he clearly didn't care about if you were too bothered by it.
"Aren't you sitting too close to me? There are lots of spaces to be seated on! Yet, you chose to sit beside me and man spread like a bitch again!" your verbal horsewhips passed from one ear then towards the other. His grin growing like it was animated enough as Satoru scooted closer next to you, depriving more of your area with his lofty built. Another sally resurfacing that was already prepared to be quipped out in the open.
"Actually, you should be thankful. I get to check the weather up here and that annoying top of your head. Need to check if you're growing a halo or the devil's ears already." His facial expressions turned more of a cock-a-hoop when you've shamelessly pushed his thigh close with your palms, exerting all your energy to it as he let you do it your own. Satoru going on with the flow and letting you have your own fun.
He'd countered all of this perversion with a semblance of bypassing the sense of absurd froth that spumed under that palisade he trusted to be resilient and stout.
"---I realized that it might be a little bit of both though. There's no in between. Are you also like this back in your world?"
"I was once an angel. But, being with you is making me turn into a she-devil!---Satoru, your leg is heavy! Please move! Or just basically give me space then!" You've breathed out the energy used to just allow yourself to sink in further on your seat, being cloth to cloth with Satoru now while he expressed his frisky, obdurate discords with a shake of his head and continuous 'nah's' ,'No's.'  and unsophisticated 'uh-uh's'.
You were being ridiculously more comfortable as you held onto the prize that you both had claimed back at the arcade. Another exhausted breath has been puffed out of your lungs as you've held onto your fluffy, Neko's white ears, making it sit on your lap, aimlessly playing with it, a genuine smile lifting your face.
An involuntary run of the mouth. The repressed thoughts, one that has been too honest to overhear by the latter, "---Also, I've chosen this because this is the only one that has the possibility to look like you!"
Satoru couldn't help the waggish grin that traced his features. His arms folded before him as he was gazing alongside your face, "Ah. I understand it clearly now. Are you saying that you've chosen that Neko plushie in hopes of remembering me whenever I'm not around?"
"---I mean," he started again and went on with his teasing, wiggling his albino brows as he jibed at your abrupt honesty, "---you've basically had him patented with such a marvelous nickname, right? There's no doubt that you've chosen that particular plushie to spare a thought for me."
Damn it. His own reasoning and logic made your body freeze. A bucket of numbing ice seeming to fall above your foolish self. Your hands stiffening from mindlessly playing with the stuff toy at hand.
Caught red-handed. You had to snap your head away after that, fighting shy of his conspicuous, unabating observance. Those palpable Ether that always had your face toiled underneath the broiling sun. With a twisted expression and your tongue poking on the insides of your cheeks, there was no doubt that you wanted to slap your own mouth, turning too free-spoken around a person that you should be through and through attentive of.
Satoru was left chuckling to your side. The tonality rich and resonant, full-toned enough to analyze that he was probably thinking of taking its meaning to his head. The assumption lingering inside his haughty mind that you've purposely chosen the white cat in terms of remembering him when he wasn't around.
You knew you were right when he started to brag his mouth upon the notion, "Don't worry, I'll always be around you, Tiny-Chan. There's no need for that." Satoru pressed on, his leg now elegantly crossed as he leaned further on your side. Straight off, being cheek by jowl with him. His willowy, athletic weight now leaning more onto you as he hummed teasingly.
"Y-You're putting words in my mouth! I-I didn't say that!" Flustered words toppled one on top of the other, caught in your own incautious reckoning. Those honest statements should've been left unsaid and prohibited only to that angel sitting on your shoulder.
Those off the record kept thoughts should've been written on a locked diary or some sort instead. Yet, this erratic, refreshing solace that neighbored you whenever Satoru was around, the apparent sheltered ambiance that could be felt through him paved those thoughts out somehow.
In which fed to his ego again after all.
"It's okay to be honest with me. I dislike liars anyway. Feel free to memorize my charm and handsome face before I return the blindfolds back," your cheeks were puffed for both, restraining the need to strangle yourself from your genuine dopiness, aware of the piping hot temperature that tarried, falling further down the volcano hole. Your face experiencing to be sizzling in a fiery catch of shame for such an honest retaliation that didn't seem to even be a verbal counterattack from you and also for Gojo's veracity that he was proudly reveling in.
He'd slanted down further, catching you entirely off-guard when the supple of his lips grazed along your earlobe. Those next words of his sounding deep-toned, modulated but a little bit hoarse that was meant to be classified into the titillating side.
What was set forth susurrated below his breath. Warmth carelessly skimming above your skin, "Don't be shy,"
All at once, those hairs on the nape of your neck stood like you've been electrocuted. The electricity going straight down the rabbit hole like it has given you a sensation of something different. One squeezing through concupiscent dreams, worth for a mother to scold the licentious behavior of her daughter.
It echoed and rang through that flummoxed state you were having, his words being crooned like a choir out in a church. Full and utterly angelic despite of how the devil was probably laughing out of court through your persistence of going through the motions being a paragon of virtue. An angel? Nah. You certainly weren't.
This quotation you've heard from Satoru have been mixed within the familiarity that echoed in that fragmented abyss planned to be healed and connected together, filling the cavity of intrigue. Though, the words that came out of his mouth was definitely the first time you've heard them loud and clear. It was as far as you could recall, including that distinct impeccable locution he uttered that has given you a giggle prior when you were forcefully fed by his Shiitake Mushrooms.
"H-Hey! IT'S MAKING ME UNEASY!---you are making me uneasy, Satoru!" Out of the blue, you've loudly protested at the top of your lungs. As luck would have it, there weren't any other passengers except for the college student you've become cognizant of. To some degree, his body stilted upon his own seat like he was situated in a rather confined space when he had all the expanse to take, off in a world of his own. If there were elders, they would've chastised both you and Satoru for being so brash and rowdy. Affiliates to be classified in the boisterous side of the crowd because of the constant rumbustious pleasantries that catapulted high and low from both parties.
The noise would've been considered ill-mannered to their culture especially while riding a public transportation.
You tore hell for leather out of the seat you've occupied in the train, lifting yourself off from Satoru's side, emigrating from his reach without sparing him a glance. Your face uttermost being baked inside an imaginary oven, feeling like it was being scorched by the heat of the stove.
Satoru was utmost tickled pink for such a raucous reaction.
Too entertained that he had to drive more around the bend. He'd given a simper, the ends of his lips stretching wider as he ought to bring his pestilent necessities to use. Satoru was settled to provoke you even more, shamelessly pulling himself out of his seat, scurrying along your side with a playful purse of his lip. The troublesome idea of whispering the phrase again along your ear.
The strongest have made it obvious. Satoru's perverse decisions and plans that were clouded with mischief all the while he scooted next to you and offered his audible teehees.
"Don't be---" His words were cut off, lanky body being at an angle where his breath was capable of giving the summer breeze along your hypersensitive skin. The wariness of his presence stuffing your sentience that you were holding tightly onto your brand new prized stuff toy with a reckless moniker of it having named 'Toru' that you've had the audacity and will power to shove the plushie on Satoru's face in attempts to shut him up.
It would've stopped everyone's tracks; would've ceased Sasaki Hibito if he wasn't intentionally shunning off to both of your existence, it would have also catch Satoru's students on the hop because of a breathtaking and unanticipated incident. An absolute willpower from a non-sorcerer would have raised a furor among everybody who'd wanted revenge given to a menace of the Jujutsu Society. That fixity of purpose from a person who entirely had no sense of cursed energy nor knew any technique in regards to Jujutsu.
All that spunk you've got deserved an uproar. If his students or those people who were constantly annoyed by him were around, you might have received a splendid applause.
Satoru had seen it. His senses knew you were about to give him a smite with your Neko stuff toy. But, he was too busy; too preoccupied with his own guffaws over the bashfulness of your spirits that he allowed it to happen. Your soft toy smacking him in the face, "---Oomph!"
However, Gojo Satoru was obviously quicker than you opined him for revenge. Energetically taking the stuff toy from you and out of your hands.
The annoying idiot literally and proudly chucked the prized possession away inside the train. Within the area of the public transportation that you were both traveling in. The poor white stuff toy kitty heading throughout the width of the train compartment, accepting its hapless fate with a faint squeak of its loss. The lifeless soft toy devoting itself for its sustained defeat for being tossed for a lot of times today.
Satoru Gojo: 2 | Neko-san: 1
Neko-San has earned his well-deserved point by hitting him on the face.
"SATORU!"
This has been one of the loudest exclamation of his name that has been spat out of your mouth, kicking up a fuss for the sorcerer's foolish actions. Those embarrassed expressions you had, the broiling heat gradually melting away when Gojo had to dramatically stood on his towering height. He'd posed like he had a strike over a bowling game. Fists tightened on either side of him. His long-legs slightly bent like he was ready to pounce or give a kick over a cursed-spirit that technically wasn't there to begin with. Stance appearing to be like he was ready for combat.
Tumblr media
You couldn't help the tight, firm moue. Those aghast expressions candid to be perceived by anyone, distorting them even more when Satoru had to declare a word out loud.
"STRIKE!"
You've given him the stink-eye, giving his face a once over and scrutinized the widening beam he had. As a matter of fact, you've spotted the slight dinky rumpled streaks of his wispy Ivory hair on the strength of Neko-san's attack. Satoru never took his eyes off your Neko stuff toy that went and flew as far as it did that it fell right exactly before the stranger's shoes whom was sitting silently and minding his own business.
"AH! YOU NEED TO STOP IT! He's as pale as your albino hair! Stop throwing him away like he's some ragdoll! REALLY!" With a stomp of your foot and an obvious, tight wrinkle of your brows clamped together. To the fullest extent were you nettled by Satoru's acts of inconveniences. You've felt your lips twitch on the sides, huffing out an exasperated breath. Holding onto the train's metal side bar to stabilize yourself to stand as you've audibly vouched and dragged your heavy footing along the floors towards your beloved stuff toy.
"---I have to get him again myself!" you've crowed your thoughts out loud, bleats frank enough for Satoru to assess as he continued on with his poses and own glares upon a lifeless dummy he was subtly seeing as an illusionary combatant. "---you've almost had to hit the stranger on the head too! Now, I need to apologize for your behavior when I don't even speak your language!"
The floor seemed nicer to stare at for Sasaki Hibito. How long had he been moored to his seat till his destination? In all likelihood, the time he spent with the both of you around had been ephemeral. Quite not too long ago yet. Granted that, time stood still and had been a suffocating mess when Satoru Gojo has been in the ballpark bordering his vicinage.
Hibito has been eavesdropping, nevertheless. Mentally inscribing synopsis or observations for your existence as well. One he'd taken to footnote was the nonnative language you were speaking. Distinguishing you to be of a foreign woman whom the strongest could decipher. He'd also been hearing you both fighting over something so childish. An irrelevant notation he'd paid attention to when his earwigging was ceased due to seeing a large, white, stuffed cat toy that has been knocked to the ground, right before the tip of his shoes.
This was the thing that both you and Satoru has been bickering non-stop about.
He couldn't help but mentally cuss inside his head. Never risking the profanities to be commented out loud.
"Damn it." Hibito was repeatedly questioning himself if he needed to get it for you. Balancing the consequences if he did or did not. What if he acted and turned a blind eye to the plaything? would Gojo Satoru break his neck for it?
Hibito technically heard the prior canards through one of Fukumoto's disciples. One of the few and far between strong adherents of his that he couldn't conceive to be happening; confabulating with an eldritch being to start with. He'd listened to the their chinwags over how Gojo granted ruthless measures over a particular unregistered special grade cursed spirit who'd underestimated the strongest. His foe losing his temper for his vainglorious demeanor that he had whenever in the course of a Jujutsu battle. Gojo Satoru was granted that he was verily stronger and had the upper hand before the battle even started.
The word on the street purveyed in the pitiless aftermath of this certain vier, taking him down a peg or two from grisly pulling his own head off inside Gojo's Domain Expansion that has overthrew his.
Straightaway and without even realizing his fretful nerves were controlling him all at once, Hibito was coming in for the stuff toy. His subconsciousness screaming how his yips would've made everything conspicuous, yet he had to play the chivalrous and respectful Japanese citizen. He didn't need to look at the both of you anyway, he silently thought as his head bowed when he'd felt that you were at arms length away from him.
Both of his arms out with the plushie on his hand, offering your soft-toy back without even sparing you a glance.
This was the first and only time he'd seen whom everybody have loathed and been frightened of. Gojo Satoru whose existence which made every cursed-spirit hid behind the shadows because of his birth. Hibito even had the ill-fate to tolerate upon communicating towards the threat that their worshipped being has forewarned them all about.
The woman of peril that needed to be constrained within their hands.
"Ah---Hm. Arigatou Gozaimasu and Gomenasai. I hope the pronunciation is correct. By the way, mister---I'm with the crazy, albino man child. I'm so sorry." you've kindly thanked Hibito, trailing off for a second as you've glanced at the train's ceiling, reclaiming your soft-toy back from his hands. Your next words gibberish for him to understand as it was beyond any doubt a foreign sentence that he had his brows in a twist. The stranger carried on and hid his face underneath and in between his arms, playing the role of a diffident man who did not want to have a confab with anyone.
He just didn't trust the constant frets of his fingers and the everlasting instability that Gojo's presence has brought him in.
Tumblr media
"Oi! Tiny-Chan!~"
Ah, Damn it. Hibito felt himself tripping on the wrong foot when he'd heard Satoru merrily calling out for you. His spirit of inquisitiveness has been changed to stress, stirring an intense amount of agitation when he heard Satoru hollering. The peculiar nickname and honorific he'd used piqued his curiosity.
He had to continue and bow further as if the floor was really such nice art. Fukumoto's votary wanted you to scram; wanted you to skedaddle that he was pleading to Fukumoto's dead soul that you would leave him alone before his state of nerves could divert Satoru's attention from yours to his.
However, your nosiness; your snoopy self decided to stay upon your tracks and studied him down in concern, wondering why he wasn't giving you a look, worried that he wasn't all too well.
You've dwell on further, not wanting to judge the culture that you were still adapting from. Distracted as you appeared to be especially with the visual perception of Gojo, his six-eyes be immersed over your figure as you stood before the unusual, timid stranger. How the echo of his feet were like the drums of death, steadily being clobbered with in hulking thuds. Literally.
"He knows. He knows that I know him. He knows. He knows." Hibito was cognitively ranting and wordlessly rambling time after time. His mind in a mess and have been on edge that he had unconsciously fished his phone out of his pocket, acting as if he has gotten a text when he could hear Gojo's heavy footsteps echoing closer.
"Didn't I tell you to just stay beside me because it's more fun when I'm around?"
Hibito's breath was being held back. He could feel himself fighting to keep an unstable pattern of breaths to make him appear more composed within the presence of his mind when it has all been the opposite. From his peripheral vision, his line of sight that has been hardly engrossed over the screen of his phone, he could see and feel Satoru closing in within a spitting distance which kept his anguish mid bay.
"More fun when you're around? Hah! That was very funny. You've been giving me headaches!" you've bewailed with a tepid, sardonic laugh, turning a blind-eye to Satoru's saunters, "---throwing my plushie away since the moment I had him whenever you could. I always had to get it myself! This is all your fault!"
"Hai, hai...Come here now," Satoru droned once he was well-nigh, waltzing within the borderline of your discussion with a stranger you barely knew. "---besides, Neko-san's meant to be catapulted all the time."
"You go wash him then!"
He'd kept his foot atwix the stretch of margin that kept you and Hibito adjacent to each other, looking as though he was trying to meddle in. Satoru actually was, much to your ignorance. On grounds of Hibito's twitchiness, his own nerves reacting upon his jittery impulse, his foot has faintly repelled when his sight-line and headlong senses seen Gojo's shoes step in between the line.
It probably wasn't the best idea for his own axons to betray him in such an epoch-making occasion right now.
You've been too faraway over your own hairsplitting mumbles of complaints over Satoru's actions, those real grouches inwardly interrupted when you've felt the grasp and warmth of his riveting touch that has gently grabbed your wrists, snowed under with his sizeable palm. Indulgent as he always was with you. Gojo have pried you out of the superfluous conversation, dragging you alongside of him and back to where you both seated.
He's protective over her. She probably has been aiding to what Master Fukumoto has seen her to be. This guy wouldn't keep her with him if she was entirely useless after all. Hibito took his time as he breathed out the air he had been holding. At an apparent snail's pace with each step Satoru took as he yanked you away. The sneaking suspicions settling his ruminative thoughts ahead again.
Although, he's kinda' too protective to assess.
Unbeknownst to him, The Strongest Jujutsu Sorcerer has given him the side-eye upon his intrusion, sparing him a glance of his fugitive heed when he'd intentionally whisked you away from Sasaki Hibito, the knacks of his scrupulous senses fastening on the infinitesimal buck fever he was having till the mocked-up act he was trying to mask for whatever reasons. Yet, above all was the tiniest scent that he had been around cursed-spirits. His six-eyes never conked out nor diminished him. It was a vague smell that he was inured to after all and even how diminutive this was for Hibito because he hadn't even met Fukumoto's acolytes for today yet, Satoru knew.
Satoru's foremost gut feeling that his restiveness had to be about him.
That's what he thought because Gojo has been given to understand that you were a nonentity. Thoroughly unidentified and your existence purely being a mystery whom no one in his world knew of.
"How could we even get ahold of her when it was impossible from the start?"
Gojo has cut those hunches dead, thumbing one's nose over a tangential non-sorcerer whose existence was irrelevant to begin with.
Through the birth of Gojo Satoru; the balance of the world has been altered. But, to your unanticipated existence and being entirely surrounded by him, alone. Everyone's destiny was guaranteed to be reshaped and tweaked to an extent that should've been left untouched.
Tumblr media
Just wanna make it clear that Fukumoto Daichi has the same face with you. He's a man but prolly older. Heehee. He also have his disciples which are Sasaki Hibito and the others---which will be named and introduced soon.
Think of them as a cult that's supposed to be hiding at all costs because they know some things that aren't supposed to be known that easily.
Satoru just be breathin' and Sasaki Hibito be fainting---LMAO XD
There's still going to be chapter 7.9 before chapter 8 begins. Sorry if it's too long. I just really wanted this to last and also let them have their moments. Heehee. See you on the next chapter soon, if anybody even reads these fanfic stories of mine. Heehee!

CONTRARY - FINN SHELBY X READER; PART 33
PUBLISHED: 05/07/2022
Part 1
MASTERLIST
TAGLIST
READER'S POV
Saoirse trotted downstairs, and came to a stop in front of the roaring fireplace, between Finn and I in our armchairs. She shifted restlessly from foot to foot. Finn Junior came up and rubbed against her legs.
"What's up?" Finn asked her tenderly, setting down his newspaper and watching as she fiddled with the hem of her dress.
"Well — I've been to sleepovers at all of my friends houses, but none of them have been to a sleepover here. Can I have one here, for my birthday next week?" Saoirse asked, swaying from side to side.
Birthday. She was turning eight. My little sister, the one who's nappies I used to change, was turning eight. Part of me refused to believe it.
"Sure." I replied unsurely, side-eyeing Finn, hoping he would catch the hesitation in my tone.
"I can't see why not." He added, which made Saoirse grin and run back upstairs.
"Finn you bastard, you should've said no!" I hissed quietly as I went and sat on the arm of his chair so I could speak softly, without fear of Saoirse hearing me.
"Why? Surely kids'll be able to come." He reasoned, placing his free hand on the small of my back, making me sigh.
"Finn, you're the brother of the most feared men in Birmingham. And I'm your wife." I said matter-of-factly, "Surely you see why people would be hesitant to let their kids come here, especially overnight."
"I know they'd be hesitant. We'd be able to get some of her friends to come here somehow." Finn replied, taking a sip of his whiskey.
"How? Rocking up at their houses and saying 'Your child is coming to Saoirse's sleepover by order of the Peaky fucking Blinders!'" I snapped, and Finn made a face that told me he agreed entirely with my stupid suggestion.
"No, Finn, we're not going to order kids to come have a sleepover! Use your common sense!" I barked then pinched his ear, making him yelp.
Serves him right for being an idiot.
"Well what about Lynn and the rest of the girls? They can put in good words for us, can't they?" He pointed out, and I suddenly felt bad for thinking of him as an idiot.
"Let's have a piss up with them and their blokes, at the Garrison or somewhere else, and everyone can see it. They'll ask about us, and they'll tell them good things. Hopefully." Finn said, and I nodded.
"Hilda can probably put in good word too, she has influence. I'll ask if I can help her with a bake sale, sell some of my stuff at her stall." I added, knowing the power her baking skills held over the women of Small Heath.
Along with having bake sales every Thursday afternoon, she also ran a book club which met every Tuesday afternoon, and went to Church every Sunday, as well as playing netball every Saturday and attending netball practice on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday afternoons. How she found the time to do all that with her job at the factory and with her rambunctious daughter, I'd never know.
•••
I put the finishing touches on the icing on top of Saoirse's cake as Finn finished organising the last lolly platter. Today was the day. My baby sister turned eight.
We woke her up with breakfast in bed, and a decorated house. We put streamers damn near everywhere, balloons everywhere, and a banner along the wall of the living room that said 'Happy Birthday Saoirse'. She loved it all, nearly too excited to open her presents.
Saoirse's big present from us was in the back yard, meaning that we had to keep her towards the front of the house so she didn't see it.
Her little presents we allowed her to open. I had gotten her netball shoes (she played in the junior games, alongside Daisy, who she had become fast friends with), new clothes and hair ribbons, and new books. Finn had also gotten her new clothes (we went shopping together so we weren't doubling up on anything), a new bracelet, a pair of (faux) pearl earrings because she was forever asking to wear mine, and some new toys. Together, along with her big gift, we got her a new silver heart locket with a picture of our Shelby-Gold-Jesus family on one side, and her mother on the other.
Other people had been dropping off their presents for her all throughout the day.
We weren't going to have a party, decided by Saoirse, only a dinner with family and friends, then a sleepover. Rose made a tradition that started with Ezzie and kept it going with the rest of us that we never entertained other people on our birthday, only having parties and sleepovers and other things if we wanted to. Our birthdays were our days, no one else's. We could do whatever we wanted, on our birthdays.
I loved that rule, because Marian had always forced me to have a party every year that I lived with her. I hated every single one of them.
I was slightly happy that Saoirse didn't want a party, because there would be a lot of people there. My family always had a lot of people at the birthday parties, and that amount would only grow with the gaggle of friends Saoirse had made.
If Saoirse was going to be like the rest of us, she would only have an eighteenth. I was yet to have mine. Ezzie had an eighteenth, but she was asleep by midnight, everyone else still partying on. Bonnie's eighteenth carried on for a week, and it was only at the end of that week long bender that we were all sober enough to realise that Bonnie was MIA. It turns out that he ended up halfway across the country with a few mates.
I snorted at the memory, making Finn look at me in confusion, momentarily stopping his walk over to the table with the lollies.
I waved for him to keep going, then placed the cake in the fridge.
The dogs started barking, making me look out of the kitchen window. Ada and Karl had just arrived in Ada's car. The first of Saoirse's guests for the sleepover. She only had Daisy left to come, but her and Hilda lived only a five minute drive up the road, it wasn't like they were going to be late.
"It's Ada," I announced, heading out of the kitchen, through the living room and mudroom, opening the front door.
"Aunt (Y/N)!" Karl said happily, racing up the path to meet me, hugging me.
I returned the hug, then he wiggled out of my grip and ran to Finn, then inside to Saoirse, who was doing a puzzle on the floor in front of the bay window.
Ada came up the walkway, a present under each arm.
"The boy's bag is in the backseat of the car, I'll grab it after Saoirse opens our presents," Ada said, making me nod.
"I'll grab it," Finn offered, passing her on the stairs and jogging down to the car.
"One present from each of us," She told me, adjusting them under her arms as we headed inside, Daisy, Duke, and Tuck following us.
I heard Finn come back inside, the door shutting behind him. He went and placed Karl's bag on the couch, then came back over to me, standing behind me and wrapping his arms around my waist, laying his cheek on top of my head. My hands came up and rested on top of his.
"Happy birthday, little miss!" Ada greeted Saoirse, and Karl hopped up, coming over to grab his present from under his mum's right arm, then turned and faced Saoirse.
"From me," He declared as she came over and grabbed the present, which was a long, rectangular shaped box.
I could hear something rattle softly when she took the present from Karl. She looked at me, and I nodded, then she gently undid the white bow, then carefully stripped the box of the blue wrapping paper. She was one of those people who hated ripping wrapping paper, because people took so long and put so much care into wrapping stuff, a trait she got from Dad. Under the wrapping paper was a cardboard box. She took the lid off to reveal a sky blue soprano ukulele with a black outline of a butterfly on the front, under the bridge and to the right.
"Oh, thank you!" She squealed, putting the box on the floor then pulling Karl into a tight hug.
The boy hugged her back, laughing. My heart melted at the pair.
"Look on the back of it," Ada advised, and Saoirse quickly stepped away from Karl and grabbed her ukulele by the neck, gently lifting it out of the box.
She flipped it so the back was facing up, and ran her finger along it. I could see some gold wording glint under the light.
"To my best friend Saoirse, from Karl, with love," She read, and looked at Karl.
"Thank you. Truly," She said softly, and you could tell she meant it.
Karl just replied with 'S'Alright'.
"Aren't they the cutest," I mused, and Ada nodded, Finn humming in agreement.
"They make me want to have another one," Ada admitted, watching as Saoirse tuned her ukulele.
"One couldn't hurt us, aye (Y/N)?" Finn asked, making Ada look at us in surprise.
I knew he was joking. We didn't feel ready for a baby yet, although I doubt we ever would. No one truly feels ready for a baby.
"You have one before you turn eighteen and I'll strangle you and my brother with the umbilical cord," Ada threatened, but there was no malice behind her words, just worry.
"I don't plan on having one anytime soon," I reassured her, and she relaxed her posture, nodding.
"Here, Sersh, come look at what Ada's got for you," I called out, and Saoirse bounded over, handing her ukulele Karl to hold.
She took the very medium sized box from Ada, and her eyebrows scrunched together.
"It's — heavy," Saoirse said, sounding surprised.
Karl bounced on his heels, waiting for her to open it.
Saoirse painstakingly unwrapped this present, and gasped. It was a light blue jewellery box, painted to look like a cloudy blue sky, a butterfly on the top of the lid. She opens it, and it immediately started chiming, playing a tinkly tune.
"Oh, it has a butterfly and it spins!" Saoirse gasped, flipping the box around to show us.
"Finn told me that he was going to get you jewellery, so I decided to get you something to put it in," Ada explained, and Karl tapped the back of it.
Saoirse tilted the box so she could see what he was tapping it for.
"To darling Saoirse. The sky is the limit. From Ada dearest," Saoirse recited the words on the back, and grinned at Ada.
"Thanks, A," Saoirse said, then started fiddling around with the key on the back as the song stopped.
"Why don't you go put your jewellery box upstairs, then we can go and look at your new present in the backyard?" Finn suggested as he stepped away from me, and Saoirse nodded, running upstairs.
"Don't run on those stairs!" I hollered after them, even though it would have fallen on deaf ears.
"Have you made dinner yet?" Ada asked as I lead her and Finn outside.
"No, starting it as soon as Saoirse sees her present," Finn replied, then turned back down the hallway, "Karl, you cover her eyes, this is going to be a great fucking surprise!"
"Stop swearing at the kids," I chastised Finn, swatting him on the arm.
He just chuckled in response as the kids came down the hallway, Karl obeying Finn's orders, his hands securely over Saoirse's eyes, the pair giggling as they walked.
Karl's jaw dropped as he saw Saoirse's present.
"She can look now," Finn told his nephew, and he quickly let his arms hang by his side, uncovering Saoirse's eyes.
Her brown eyes went wide with shock as she laid her gaze on her new, baby blue playhouse, and play equipment. The playhouse itself was two story, with a cute little picket fence front yard, with a toy kitchen and dining room down the bottom, and a bedroom up the top. The bedroom itself held a daybed with a metal frame that made it look like a couch, a privacy screen, a full body mirror, and a trunk full of dress up clothes.
The play equipment was brown, the wood unpainted, but the accessories were dark blue. On the left side of the sky loft was monkey bars, which connected up with the sky loft, so you could land on the floor of the loft. The sky fort had a bench underneath, and a patch of grass next to it. The sky loft itself was empty. A set of steep stairs was connected to the back of it, with blue railings to help climb up it. At the front of the sky loft, connected to it, was a climbing wall and a slide. Then, to the right of the sky loft was a lookout (which was accessible from the inside of the loft). The bottom of the lookout was attached to the beam that held the swings. We had two slings swings, one horse gilder swing, and one nest swing. The beam holding up the swings was metal, painted to look like wood, so I didn't have to worry about the beam collapsing.
We decided to get her play equipment because she only had 'inside ' stuff, no outside stuff. The house was big enough for her to have play dates inside but it got stale eventually.
"That's the best present a big brother and a big sister could ever give!" Saoirse screeched, coming over and hugging Finn and I quickly.
"I love it! Karl, come down the slide with me!" Saoirse demanded, grabbing the boys hand and leading him to the play equipment, making us laugh.
I heard a sniffle to my left, and looked over at Finn, who was rubbing his eyes.
"You okay, darling?" I asked, feeling concerned for my husband.
"She called me her brother," Finn mumbled, cheeks going red, and I gave him a soft smile, reaching up and brushing away a stray tear on his cheek.
"She loves you, you know," I replied softly, turning back to the kids and placing my head on his shoulder.
"We both do," I added, moving my head to look up at him, just in time to catch the ends of his lips quirk up.

THIRD PERSON'S POV
The Golds (bar you and Saoirse), the Shelbys (bar Finn and Karl), The Jesuses, Johnny Doggs and his brood, Charlie Strong, Curly, and Hilda had not long ago finished dinner, then the rest of the guests went back to their houses, having spent the afternoon with Saoirse.
You sat in Finn's rocking chair, watching as Daisy, Karl, and Saoirse played with Saoirse's new toys, now dressed up with outfits from the dress up chest. They had dressed up the cat and the dogs too. You had also been roped into dressing up, putting your wedding dress on, as well as a pair of wings from Saoirse's dress up chest, borrowing a stick from the garden outside and wrapping some streamers around it. You made a damn good faerie if you did say so yourself.
Finn was currently in the office, doing something for Tommy, which annoyed you slightly. Tommy couldn't even respect the fact that it was Saoirse's birthday.
"Faerie godmother (Y/N)! Make Finn come out here and play dress up with us," Saoirse demanded, making you snort.
"Oh, my dearest goddaughter, princess Saoirse, I don't believe I'll be able to pull the noble Mr Shelby from his work," You sighed theatrically, throwing the back of your palm onto your forehead to add a dramatic effect.
The children giggled at your antics.
"Well, if you can't pull him away from work, maybe we should," Daisy suggested, fiddling with the tail on the dinosaur one piece she was wearing, making the rest of the kids cheer.
"Chivalrous knight Karl, lead us on this journey!" Saoirse commanded, and Karl hopped up from his spot on the floor, then helped the girls up, leading them to the office.
You followed them, intrigued about what was going to happen.
Karl knocked on the door, and Finn called out 'come in'. Karl swung the door open, and the trio entered the office. You came to stand in the doorway, leaning against the door jamb with your arms crossed.
"Finn, you've got to come play dress up with us." Saoirse ordered, looking at the man sat at the table.
Finn sighed, rubbing his temples. You frowned at the sight of your obviously stressed husband.
"Sersh, he's busy, come on," You said, getting ready to usher the kids from the room.
"No, no. I'll come out and play, just give me a few seconds to pack up," Finn reassured your sister, finally looking up from the papers that littered his desk.
He walked around his desk, and rubbed his knuckles against her cheek affectionately.
The children cheered and ran past you, back down the hall to the living room. Your husband came over to you, leaning down and planting a kiss on your lips.
"You sure you're okay to play dress ups? There's cupcakes in the oven, I'll remind them of those, they'll forget all about it," You told your husband, who shook his head, walking back over to his desk.
"I'll be fine," He replied, gathering all of the papers and putting them into the file they belonged in, then placing that file into the bottom drawer and locking the drawer.
He looked back over at you, taking in the sight of you in your wedding dress, hair loose and over your shoulder. You looked gorgeous. An absolute vision.
"Take a picture, it'll last longer," You teased your husband, gave a boyish grin in reply.
"A picture wouldn't be able to hold a candle to the real deal," Finn said cheekily, making your cheeks flush.
"Finn! Hurry up!" Saoirse commanded from the living room, and you and your husband headed down the hallway to them.
"I'm here," Finn announced as he stepped through the doorway, and immediately got a clown costume thrown his way.
"Go put that on, then we're going to paint nails," Saoirse informed him.
"Yes boss," Finn replied with a grin, then headed back down the hallway to the bathroom.
"(Y/N), come sit. Karl's got to do your nails, then you do Daisy's, then she does Finn's, and Finn does mine. I've already done Karl's nails," Saoirse explained, and Karl showed you his orange nails.
"They look very nice," You complimented as you went and sat in front of Karl, who was already opening a yellow bottle of nail polish.
Smart boy.
Finn entered the living room, his curly hair ruffled by the clothes he had taken off and the costume he had put on. You bit back a laugh as you looked at your husband.
Saoirse explained the nail polish order to him, and he sat in front of Daisy, who gave him a set of immaculately painted hot pink nails.
As Finn blew on his nails to dry them quicker, you couldn't resist a laugh at your husband. Daisy then scolded you for not paying attention to her nails, and you hurriedly went back to painting her nails red. Once you had finished her nails, you got up to check on the cupcakes.
As soon as you walked through the doorway to the kitchen you heard the timer you set go off with a 'ding!'
You got the cupcakes out of the oven, and placed them onto a cooling rack. You placed three cupcakes onto a tea towel, then hid the bundle in the pantry, and headed back to the living room, cooling rack in your hands.
"Alright, you lot, let's head up to Saoirse's room and settle down. We can eat the cupcakes once they've cooled down." You announced, and the kids started to move upstairs.
You noticed how sluggish they seemed, but you knew they'd get second wind once they ate the cupcakes.
"I'll start popping balloons," Finn told you, and you nodded, then headed upstairs, being careful not to drop any cupcakes.
"Hey, (Y/N), can you braid our hair?" Saoirse asked as you sat the cupcakes on the foot end of her bed.
You heard Finn popping a balloon already.
"Yeah, I can," You answered, kicking a balloon out of your way.
Daisy and Duke didn't seem bothered by the balloons, to your surprise.
"Want Finn to pop these balloons or leave them?" You questioned, gathering all of the balloons on her floor near the door.
"Pop those ones," Saoirse decided, and you kicked them out into the hallway and shut the door.
Karl handed you the brush, comb, and hair ribbons. You thanked the boy, and started with Saoirse's hair first, doing twin French braids.
"Want the same ones as her?" You asked Daisy, and she shrugged.
You decided to go the same as Saoirse's. Once she was done, you told the kids they could have their cupcakes. They all got three each. They ate their cupcakes in silence as they struggled to stay sitting upright. You chuckled at the trio. Once they were done, you tucked them into Saoirse's bed, then turned on her nightlight, and left the room, cooling rack in hand.
You shuffled along the hall, kicking all of the balloons in the upstairs hall down the stairs, where your husband was having a spot of fun stabbing them to pop them. You grabbed all of the streamers that were in the upstairs hallway, and ambled downstairs and into the kitchen, washing everything up, then sitting them on the drying rack. By the time you were done, Finn had started pulling the streamers down. You pulled down the ones in the kitchen and the downstairs hallway, then placed them on your armchair, Finn doing the same. Once you were done the streamers, you pulled down the banner, carefully folding it up.
Finn felt slightly disappointed that there were no more cupcakes left, but no matter. Saoirse had a good day and that was all that mattered.
"We've three cupcakes to share," You informed your husband, making him grin as you lead him into the kitchen and into the pantry.
You grabbed the tea towel and unfolded it, giving your husband a cupcake and devouring your own. Finn wasted no time eating his. When you reached for the last one, you heard the kitchen door swung open, making you freeze.
"I'm not sharing a cupcake with a child half my size," Your husband whispered as you stood up, handing him the tea towel and cupcake.
"Shut up," You hissed, but he words held no malice.
You exited the pantry, and found Daisy there, looking very tired.
"Thirsty," She mumbled, and you got her a bottle of milk from the fridge, telling her to take it up to Saoirse's room so none of them had to come back downstairs.
She did what you asked, and you headed back into the pantry, where Finn was in the process of splitting the cupcake in half.
"You can have the big half if you give me a kiss," Finn offered with a smirked.
You rolled your eyes, smiling softly, and placed a chaste kiss on your husband's lips.
"I would have kissed you anyway," You told your husband, who grinned.
"I would have given you the big half anyway," He replied, making you smile at him.
"To a successful sleepover!" You declared quietly, holding your cupcake half in the air.
Finn did the same, and you started giggling again.
As you sat in the pantry in your wedding dress, your husband in a clown outfit, the pair of you giggling into the night you decided that life, as this very moment, was good.

Hello hi it’s me 👋🏾
Wednesday
I had my nephew today for about 10 hours which I adored.
Went to gym at 5am 🕔
Had protein after
Brekky at my sisters - weetbix bites
Coffee (cafe - untracked)
Then we did bowling and the lolly shop 🤩
A very late second brekky/lunch once we got back to my house. Two eggs two hash browns baby spinach and cheese on a wrap
Some lollies (untracked)
Dinner was a chicken noodle soup
Had a protein mug cake for a snack
Nowhere near enough water but tried to make up for it late this afternoon
All up about 2100 minus lollies and my coffee so probably right on target 🎯

there are over 50 aus here (bc I'm insane) so everything's under the cut! all moodboards are linked, and those with an asterisk * next to them feature Lolly at some point. please do not talk to me about how many have the asterisk because trust me. I know. also if you've noticed how many of these involve Sarah moving to a small town and starting a new life, please keep that to yourself. can an annoying person not project their desires onto fictional characters?
4000 miles*
Unable to cope in Chicago (and later New Orleans) after Crockett's death, Sarah moves with her daughters to a small seaside town in the Netherlands, where she meets and befriends Ava
Birthright*
Sarah is just like her father. who'd have thought (serial killer!Sarah)
Black water
1930s Cornwall, England. Sarah's a lighthouse keeper, and Ava's a rich London socialite. she was only visiting the village to see her grandmother before she passed, but it was enough time for her to fall in love with Sarah
Bloodline
Sarah and Ava's daughter Piper has leukaemia
Brain freeze*
Crockett has a summer fling with Sarah, the cute girl who works at the ice cream parlour in the town he's staying in
Burnt espresso*
Crockett files for divorce. Sarah finds out she's pregnant (and Crockett wants nothing to do with it). then to top it all off, she quits her residency and takes a job at a coffee shop near her apartment while she works out what she's going to do with her life. thank god for Ava Bekker
Circus
in which teenage Sarah ran away to join the circus! set in the 1960s, when she's in her twenties
Close encounter
Sarah knows what happened to her, it's everyone else that has doubts. so what better to do than to quit your residency and move to the other side of the country to find other people who know the truth (alien/paranormal investigation)
College (chaotic academia)
Ava's a straight-A pre-med student at college on a swimming scholarship. Sarah's her roommate, another pre-med student who lives off red bull, exclusively reads books in russian, french or german, and seems to never sleep. a match made in heaven :)
Cottagecore*
Crockett and Sarah bought a farm together <3
Cult (The Farm)*
Ava's kidnapped one day after work by a religious doomsday cult. Sarah, who's been there since she was seven, takes her under her wing and teaches her the rules and how to survive. six months later, The Farm is raided and shut down by the FBI, and suddenly Sarah's the one in a society she doesn't understand
Cult (Village of Light)*
Sarah's visit was only so she could give Crockett some news, but then one night turned to two, turned to a week, and a week turned to months. and who could blame her, when someone as charming as Ava Bekker is suddenly taking an interest in her? no one else gets this level of attention from their leader (1970s)
Dallas
a look at Sarah's life after she left Chicago
Disorder
Sarah's high school eating disorder makes a comeback
Eidetic
as close to canon as physically possible, but with a "Sarah has an eidetic memory" filter. more of a headcanon tbh
Experiment*
Sarah, Ava, April, Lanik and Crockett were all born and raised in an underground lab, as part of an experiment to develop "super soldiers" with innate powers
Fading
Sarah's depressed and nothing seems to be getting better
Final girl
Sarah lived through her very own slasher movie as a teenager, and now the horrors have followed her to Chicago
Firefighter*
firefighter!sockett. need I say more? probably, but I can't think of anything else
Forest*
after Dr Charles was shot, Sarah goes back to Connecticut to try and find out the truth about her life, and why she was found wandering alone in the forest when she was five
Ghost
Ava gets a great deal on her new apartment in Chicago - perfect location, beautiful building, and cheap rent. the problem? Sarah, her ghostly roommate, who's desperate for Ava to help her solve her murder
Hideaway*
Missing beach au. a few years into Sarah's captivity, Crockett purchases a tiny beach house, and when he moves from Florida to Chicago, he leaves Sarah behind in it, with a small allowance and one rule: don't talk to people unless it's absolutely necessary
Homesick*
instead of going to Dallas, Sarah moves back to Austin after she leaves Med, where she reunites with her childhood best friend Carlos Reyes
Last light
Sarah and Crockett having simultaneous breakdowns about their respective dead daughters
Long-distance*
Sarah left Lolly and Crockett behind in New Orleans when she went to medical school, but they're still trying to do the co-parenting thing (even though they're not officially together anymore, and Sarah has a thing for someone else)
Mafia*
mafia boss Sarah and her hot wife Ava :) I'm sure there's plot somewhere
(Unnamed) Mafia*
inspired by med 7x20 - Ava ends up being recruited by Sarah Reese, a mafia boss, to treat her infant daughter's heart condition, whatever the cost may be. and if she can come back later when her older daughter gets sick, or her husband is stabbed, well surely that couldn't hurt
Melancholia
despite living in a city of almost three million, Sarah's never felt more alone (vent au lol)
Mermaid*
Ava swims up north and finds a new pod off the coast of Florida. Sarah's on the verge of leaving it
Missing*
Sarah disappears after work, and with little evidence, the case quickly goes cold. four years later, she's rescued from Crockett's basement with two children in tow
Missing/NCIS crossover*
after giving a talk at a high school on Quantico naval base, the MCRT gets a call about a child wandering around alone nearby. it's not their typical case, but they're the closest, so they head over there with the intention of sorting it all out quickly and then heading back to NCIS. however, it soon becomes obvious that this isn't just a kid who's walked away from her mom, and it's up to them to work out where this child came from and where her parents are
Model
model Sarah x designer Ava. that's all I've got bc I've decided I don't like the old idea anymore lol
Motherhood
in which Emily Prentiss is a mom :)
Nervosa*
very similar to disorder, but with sockett instead of reesker
Painless*
Nothing like finding out your daughter can't feel pain
Pediatric surgeon!Crockett
pretty self-explanatory I think
Picket fences*
Sarah's tired of being a celebrity and everything that comes with it. she wants out
Pride
Sarah refuses to accept that she's a lesbian. Ava shows her that there's nothing to be ashamed of
Punk*
Sarah, April, Connor, and Crockett are punks living together in Sarah's house. when Crockett leaves to make music (and doesn't come back or contact anyone for over a year), Ava takes his room, and a romance quickly flourishes between her and Sarah. when Crockett comes back, he's not pleased to find out that he and Sarah have a baby now, and that she's raising her with Ava
Restoration
after Sarah's marriage falls apart, she decides to finally do something with the house she inherited from her great aunt a few years back. she packs up and leaves Chicago, then moves into the house in Connecticut, far away from everything that went wrong in her old life. as she fixes up the house, she builds relationships with the people in the town, and slowly begins to heal from everything
Roommate*
Ava's neighbours are awful and she's desperate to find somewhere else to live. Sarah's landlord just upped the rent, and now she needs to find a roommate. Connor, sick of hearing them both complain, suggests that Ava move in with Sarah. what's the worst that could happen?
Rosehall Estate*
Ava starts a job as a governess for Owen Manning, which means moving into Rosehall Estate, a manor house that's been in his stepfather Crockett's family for years. it's all going well, until Ava starts noticing strange things happening - weird sounds at night, things not being where she left them, and a woman in a white dress who wanders the grounds in the dark
Royalty*
Queens Sarah and Ava and little princess Lolly :)
Seven*
after surviving a serial killer when she was seventeen, Sarah joins the FBI, working with the BAU, the very people that helped her all those years ago
Showbiz
Sarah's a child star who has even more fame now that she's an adult, and Ava's one of the light technicians working on the set of Sarah's latest movie. she doesn't even think Sarah noticed her, until the end of filming when she gets a huge bouquet of flowers and a handwritten thank-you note from the star herself. and, well, the rest is history
Single dad!Crockett*
by the time Sarah realised she didn't actually want to be a mom, it was too late to do anything about it. when Lolly was born, she gladly signed all of her parental rights over to Crockett, and she didn't object when he said he was moving the two of them back down to New Orleans. it hurt, but Crockett wanted to be there for his daughter, and he could think of worse things than being a single dad with his parents around the corner
Skating*
figure skater!Sarah x ice hockey player!Ava <3 until Sarah's injury that is, and then it's med student!Sarah x ice hockey Ava :)
Summer camp*
instead of going back to South Africa for the summer between her junior and senior years of college, Ava decides to work at a summer camp. what could be more American? it's fun, and if summer camp veteran Sarah Reese is more than a little easy on the eyes, that's not Ava's fault
Tattoo/flower shop
no idea what's happening with this one sorry (but there's a lot of gay behaviours)
Teacher*
she was a science teacher. she was an English teacher. can I make it any more obvious?
Tiny love*
um. if u don't know this then what are you doing on my blog. read this fic and maybe if you ask nicely I'll finish it
Trinity Beach
Ava's a travel journalist working on a project about the best hidden gems around the US, and her latest focus is on a small Californian town called Trinity Beach. it's a beautiful place, the type where everyone knows everyone, but it doesn't take long for her to earn people's trust. she talks to lots of people, but the one person she's interested in - Sarah, an artist who lives right by the beach - doesn't talk to anyone except for Crockett. but Ava's a journalist, and it's her job to find stories and dig for the truth, so that's exactly what she does
Trophy wife*
Sarah didn't just marry Crockett for his money - there were feelings there that she couldn't deny - but it quickly becomes obvious that he loves her more than she loves him. he spoils her with gifts and vacations and parties and anything else she could want, but she just grows to resent him and herself for not loving him back
Trust fund!Sarah*
she's always had everything she's ever wanted or needed, and there's enough money in her trust fund that with her part-time modelling job she can afford a penthouse in Chicago, but even with all that, Sarah's life since college has still been one disaster after another. she's trying her best, but then suddenly she finds herself in hospital with a heart condition and the possibility of surgery, and she's not sure how she'll be able to get out of this one
Unexpected*
watch an episode of I Didn't Know I Was Pregnant but imagine that it's Sarah. boom that's the whole au
Wild west
Ava's fleeing an abusive marriage in Chicago, so she heads west until she reaches a small town in Wyoming. Sarah's a cowboy, back in town after disappearing for months following the death of her daughter. been a long time since I've thought about this one but they fall in love I think :)
Yoga
Ava has no interest in yoga, but after being approached by an over-confident, slightly eccentric yoga instructor in a juice bar, she decides to give it a try (mostly because her therapist tells her to). it's a simple plan - go to one session, say it's not her thing, then never go back. or at least, it would be simple, if Sarah wasn't so charming and beautiful
Youth
based on my headcanon about Sarah being a teen mom :)
Unnamed #1
trying to escape her past, Sarah moves across the country to live with her friend Hannah in the Northern California town she's been residing in for the last few years. she wants things to be different now, so she does everything she can to make a change - she gets a job at one of the convenience stores, keeps track of the debt she owes Hannah, and does her best to make friends with the people in the town
Unnamed #2
follows Sarah's eating disorder recovery. after being discharged from yet another ED clinic, Sarah decides to take things into her own hands and try recovering her own way. she packs up the few belongings that mean something to her, then leaves Chicago for a small town in central Illinois. she keeps to herself for the most part, but always makes sure to head to the local bakery after her therapy sessions, even if all she does is buy a bagel and stare at it. (similar to nervosa and disorder but with a more positive twist !!)
Unnamed #3
four years after Sarah left med, Crockett's called to Goodwin's office, and finds himself face to face with a social worker from DCFS and a little girl with dark curly hair and big brown eyes. Sarah, he's told, is dead, and this is her daughter Olivia. his daughter. Sarah never told him about her, so now without any warning or chance to prepare, he's a father again
Unnamed #4
after Connor's death, Ava decides that the best thing for her and her daughter is to leave Chicago and get away from Cornelius. their road trip lands them in a small town just outside of Illinois. it's supposed to be a quick stop - find somewhere for Cora to go to the bathroom, then get back on their way - but it's getting dark and Sarah, the nice woman who runs the motel, offers to let them stay. just one night, of course. but one night turns into two, then three, then a week. Sarah's ex, Crockett, runs the diner next door, and he's just as welcoming as she is. things are looking up, until Cornelius makes an appearance, demanding to know if anyone in the town has seen his granddaughter
Unnamed #5
Sarah and Crockett (and occasionally Ava and Connor and Noah) explore abandoned buildings together. sometimes Lolly goes with them. Dr Charles is Sarah's adoptive father, and he steps in to look after Lolly whenever needed (which is more often than not)

When was the last time you went out of state? Last month when I went to Boston to see John Mulaney with my best friend who lives there.
And where did you go? Oh oops I already said lol.
What does the 6th text in your inbox say? Do ANYONE’S texts still work like this??? They’re all grouped by person and not text... Do you even like the person who sent you that text? For the sake of the question I’ll look at the 6th person in my inbox. That was a coworker. I don’t hate him.
Do you have more than one best friend? Yes. I have four. Sarah, Ellen, Mark, and Randal.
In public restrooms, do you flush the toilet with your foot? If possible yes.
What song is stuck in your head at the moment? The Man by Taylor Swift.
Name one thing you worry about running out of: Life.
Do you have a boyfriend/girlfriend? I am married.
Spell your first name without T, E, R, A, or L. Hnnh
How old were you when you had your first kiss? I was 12 or 13.
Do you ever save Aim conversations? Okay the text question makes sense now this survey was made in like 2002.
If you were a crayon what color would you be? Purple.
Do you wish your eyes were a different color? If so, what? No.
What is the 4th digit in your phone number? The person before me said they aren’t sharing that and I’m so confused? Like what is someone gunna do with that information? There are so many combinations of phone numbers it’s not like someone can take it and guess your number or any other information about you. Anyway, mine is 0. Have fun finding out where I live!
Who was the last person to comment you on Myspace? Wowwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww. Have you ever given someone a fake phone number? Yes.
Your phone’s ringing; who do you want it to be? Someone telling me I won free tickets to see Taylor Swift, Tina Fey and Amy Poehler, and Lana Del Rey whenever she tours.
Have you lied to get out of a date? Nah.
Was your mom a cheerleader in high school? She was actually.
Do you still have pictures of your ex? No.
When was the last time you ate at McDonald’s? Last Wednesday. I take my nieces almost every Wednesday when I pick them up. Sometimes I get something for myself or I just munch on some fries.
Do you think more about the past, present or future? All of it all the time always.
Are you more of a talker or a listener? Depends on the scenario. What do you wear to bed? Usually a tshirt and undies.
Do you like ketchup or mustard better? Mustard honestly. Especially honey mustard.
Did you ever have a Furby when you were little? I did.
Did you eat a cookie today? Nope.
What do you and your parents fight about the most? --
How old will you be in 15 years? I’ll be turning 49 gross.
Is summer your favorite season? It sure the fuck is. I wish we could skip past this spring bullshit and go right to it being at least over 70F consistently.
Chinese, Mexican, or Italian food? Mexican. How many states have you lived in? Just this one.
When is the last time you saw your mom? July 18, 2013. I cannot believe it’s been almost 10 years.

Do you think dance/techno music is annoying? Whatever.
What year were you born? 1989.
Do you shop at Hollister? No.
Grab the nearest book and turn to page 17. What is the 4th word? The only books near me are catalogs for products for work. What are you going to be for Halloween? I'm not sure yet. My friend Lolly and I briefly joked about being Timothee Chalamet and Pete Davidson’s characters from that SNL Rap Roundtable sketch (ya know, the YEET SKRRT one lol) but theres also like 7 months until Halloween so that could change.
How many times have you seen your favorite movie? A lot.
Do you own a Coach purse? Nope, not really a fan of the brand.
What’s your Myspace song right now? Don’t have a Myspace anymoooooreeeee.
Has a boyfriend/girlfriend ever given you a pet name? Yes.

Have you ever been in love with someone much older or younger than you? Not unless you count Will Arnett hahah.
Are there any songs that make you feel angry inside when you hear them? Anything by Megan Trainer or however she spells her name. When was the last time you sat on the ground, outside w/nothing under you? I don’t remember.
Would you rather have someone ask to kiss you, or just kiss you? I mean, consent is always nice, especially if it is your first kiss, but being in an established relationship, I don’t mind my husband just kissing me.

Did you give or get any Valentines this year? Yes.
Have you ever been in a submarine? Not an operating one.
What is the last lie someone told you, or you suspect they told you? I don’t know.
Have you ever received a gift and truly did not know what it was? Probably.
What’s your homepage? Just the default chrome homepage..
What was the last birthday gift you gave? Uhhhh I bought my cousin lunch.
Do you have dessert after breakfast? Is that a thing?
Is there anyone whose grave you visit? My mother’s, when I find myself in Tennessee, which might not happen anytime soon because fuck that state.
Would you rather drive during the day or night? Either.
Is there a thing you enjoy doing, but quit because you are not good at it? Everything I try hahahahahha.
