i like to mix things up with my candles/wax melts and try lots of different things but. i love the cherry blossom yankee candle (one of the only scents I've bought multiple times), the cranberry ice yankee candle is really nice too (smells like an ice lolly), there was a knock off yankee candle from a christmas cracker that smelled like mulled wine that i really loved and then there was a lemon and lavender cleansing candle i got on etsy thar was fucking gorgeous and i need to get a new one

In the 2012 television series Touch, season 1, episode 9, "Music of the Spheres", Jacob "Jake" Bohm, a mute boy who mysteriously feels the suffering of those along his path and aims to positively adjust their fates, is revealed as possibly one of the "Lamed Vav Tzadikim" by a Hasidic man. Lamedvavnik (Yiddish: למד־װאָװניק), is the Yiddish term for one of the 36 humble righteous ones or Tzadikim mentioned in kabbalah or Jewish mysticism. According to this teaching, at any given time there are at least 36 holy persons in the world who are Tzadikim. These holy people are hidden; i.e., nobody knows who they are. According to some versions of the story, they themselves may not know who they are. For the sake of these 36 hidden saints, God preserves the world even if the rest of humanity has degenerated to the level of total barbarism. This is similar to the story of Sodom and Gomorrah in the Hebrew Bible, where God told Abraham that he would spare the city of Sodom if there was a quorum of at least 10 righteous men. Since nobody knows who the Lamedvavniks are, not even themselves, every Jew should act as if he or she might be one of them; i.e., lead a holy and humble life and pray for the sake of fellow human beings. The idea of 36 righteous became fully fleshed out in later generations: As a mystical concept, the number 36 is even more intriguing. It is said that at all times there are 36 special people in the world, and that were it not for them, all of them, if even one of them was missing, the world would come to an end. The two Hebrew letters for 36 are the lamed, which is 30, and the vav, which is 6. Therefore, these 36 are referred to as the Lamed-Vav Tzadikim.

The idea is particularly prominent in Hasidic Judaism. Tzvi Elimelech Spira of Dinov, for example, wrote that "in every generation, there are great righteous people who could perform wondrous acts, but the generation is not deserving of that, so the stature of the righteous people is hidden and they are not known to the public; sometimes they are woodchoppers or water-drawers."

On Saturday I went for a bra fitting. I was kinda nervous, I thought standing there in my bra (crop top) would be really intimidating and I’d get body conscious. Especially considering what a late bloomer I am and that I’d never actually worn bras until that fitting. It went considerably better than expected though, but I did get confused on how much eye contact is appropriate to give to the woman who is gesturing to your boobs and her own boobs and discussing boobs and so on and so forth.

We got a Taco Bell after. There are only about 30 Taco Bells in the UK as opposed to hundreds, maybe a thousand?, McDonalds and such, so I really wanted to take the opportunity to try what I’d heard many people praise highly. It was good, but kinda mid. The way everyone claimed it to be great but it was just like something I could easily throw together at home but better was unfortunate but I’d still eat it again to be honest.

Then we went shopping. Growing up (by growing up I mean any time before 2020 where I feel all my life experiences and childhood truly ended) I’d never been a fan of shopping especially a shopping spree for hours as I’d get easily overwhelmed in changing rooms, with all the crowds and the noise, the heat and the ache of my feet. But in recent times I’ve learnt to tune out the negative in order to gather these life experiences even with all the bad mingled in, as I’ve ruined many moments that could’ve been formative experiences and great stories in the future by simply focusing on the negative and hiding in a corner and just spending my whole time trying to leave. Thats not really a way to live a life, so I tried my best to stay upbeat all day.

I’ve really been into brighter colours recently, so I bought some nice new tops, and a skirt for the first time ever. I also bought a dress but the skirt doesn’t suit my figure and makes my legs look bad, so I’ll perhaps have to get one with a skirt that flares out more like the skirt. I really went outside my comfort zone that day - a bra fitting, trying new food and drinks (that strawberry + mango ice drink was amazing), buying clothes that I’d probably be scared to wear or buy two years ago. I really hope I can keep this up! I also bought some bras, some earrings, a lacy grey matching pyjama set and I almost forgot but it just hit me as I was writing - the cutest converse trainers ever! They were like normal black high-top Converse but with pretty pastel flowers embroidered into the side and a pastel purple sole. I think I got emotional seeing them in the store and realising I could wear them.

So that was truly the first time I’d ever enjoyed shopping even though my mum’s bank account is probably suffering. I can’t wait for the opportunity to wear my new clothes, hopefully at Wetherspoons this Sunday if mum keeps to her word? I suppose she’ll forget though lmao.

Right now there is the most atrocious heatwave imaginable in the UK. It reached 34°C today, what a sick joke. And my friends from other countries are like ‘um damn ok’ and don’t really understand that - according to people that have actually been abroad - UK heat is just the absolute worst, we’re not built for this. Neither the cities or the houses or the people are built for this. My younger brother is staying off school because my mum fears for his health, that’s how sickly this heat is. I am trying to cherish it and would like to go on a walk but I know realistically I will pass out. Worse, all the ice cream and lollies in supermarkets have sold out so we can’t keep cool through that :(

I can’t wait for winter even though I know it will probably be depressing. My favourite weather, my least favourite time of year, if that makes sense. Even though I love Christmas despite its painfulness. I just love the cold and rain and snow despite the vibes that come with the heat is absolutely unmatched. This is why autumn and spring are rivalled for my favourite seasons, you get a good healthy mix of both weathers.

Also, if I get to go on a shopping trip to buy winter clothes to last me between October-May I will be so excited oh my gosh

Things have not been good here. The baby and Sibling alternated vomiting and pooing all night last night. I changed far too many toxic nappies by torchlight. Got bits of sleep here and there but Not Enough. They both had their morning milk, and in both cases it hit their stomach linings and bounced straight back out again and all over me and the bedding/sofa. As a result of his dodgy tummy, Sibling stayed home from nursery today although I still sent Toddler (her tummy is fine). Sibling did a lot of screaming through the day, because he felt rubbish and things didn’t always go his way. His screaming upset the Baby who doesn’t like too much sensory input, so Baby cried. At times, I cried too.

I put Sibling in the bath in the afternoon and gave him an ice lolly, which Instagram would have me believe solves all difficulties. It didn’t. Sibling screamed because his ice lolly dripped on his fingers and then threw it across the room. Then he screamed because he didn’t have it, and when I gave it him back, he screamed because it fell off the stick into the bath. After the bath, he screamed some more because he thought it should be pyjamas and milk time, and I had to break it to him that it was only 3.30pm. That’ll teach me to mix up the routine.

The Baby crashed out about 6.30pm no problem and no further vomiting or pooing. One down. Sibling went to bed obligingly enough but because he’d crashed out on the floor for 45 minutes at lunchtime, he wouldn’t go to sleep. And Toddler, who usually goes down like a dream, screamed like a banshee for about 40 minutes and kept getting out of bed and opening their bedroom door.

Oh and in between all the screaming, vomiting and pooing, I had a phone call with school and exchanged several emails with various people related to Sibling’s school start. At the current rate we will get a meeting scheduled in by Christmas, 3 months after he should have started (or not started). It’s making my head explode. I am really done with it now. They all know how I feel and I will leave it to them to figure out what to do.

SWEETS! Ok y'all. Obviously with Christmas fast approaching sweets will be a huge presence so here's my recipe for amazing meringue pops that will have your house smelling great, your taste buds satisfied. They're so low calorie they pretty much don't even count. They're even Keto Friendly if that's your thing.

You will need:

-4 egg whites

-4 Tablespoons Swerve sweetener

-1/4 Teaspoon vanilla

-1/4 Teaspoon cream of tartar

-Lolly sticks (optional)

-Sprinkles (optional)

-parchment paper

-baking sheet... Or 2 or 3 depending on size.

-Stand mixer or hand mixer

-vinegar or lemon juice

Directions:

This is a french meringue so the process is very straight forward. First, clean your bowl and whisk/beater attachment with vinegar or lemon juice. Let that dry. Meringue is simple but fussy so you don't want any oil residue collapsing it. Put your egg whites and cream of tartar into a mixing bowl and begin to beat them. Once they have foamed up a bit, add your vanilla and continue to beat. When the mixture has become a little more firm, slowly add your first tablespoon of swerve. Wait a minute and allow that to mix in and disintegrate completely. Repeat until you've added 4 tbsp. Once stiff peaks can be formed, you can add gel or powder food coloring (NOT LIQUID!) if you would like to color them.

Once you are satisfied with the consistency and color of your meringue, put the mixture in a piping or ziplock bag with a corner clipped. Line your baking sheet with parchment paper. You can dab a bit of meringue under the corners to keep it in place. Pipe your meringue onto the parchment paper in fun shapes, lay a lolly stick over top, and then repeat the shape in a second later to cover the stick. This should make 8 or so decent size lollies.

Calories: ~80 cal

You could fill a cake box up with these and eat them all without breaking your calorie budget on deserts. Honestly I couldn't even finish half a batch before my sweet tooth was satisfied and I am a sugar FIEND.

My relationship with my dad was a mixed bag. I didn’t mind him. He wasn’t malicious or anything. He just wasn’t all there. Ghosts Series 3: The Beautiful Message of This Adorably Daft Comedy

Warning: spoilers for Ghosts Series 3.

The Ghosts Christmas special contains a scene so utterly lovely that BBC One should show it every weeknight straight after the News at Ten. We could all watch it, have a little cry, then clean our teeth and go to bed, ready to wake up the next morning as better, happier people. It might be odd to hear Christmas carol ‘In the Bleak Midwinter’ in summer, but nobody would mind. There’s no wrong time to be knocked off your feet by a wave of joy.

The scene shows Charlotte Ritchie’s Alison sitting alone at the piano on Christmas day, her wish for a family-sung carol drowned out in the mix of in-laws’ needs. She starts to sing, alone, and is surprised by another voice. Soon, it’s not just one, but a whole chorus – and not those of her in-laws, but the motley of comedy ghosts she inherited along with a manor house as the last survivor of her line. To the living, Alison looks as though she’s singing solo, but really, she’s deep in the bosom of a… really weird-looking family.

There’s always something rousing about choral voices, especially at Christmas, especially after a Baileys trifle and a bucket of wine, but that’s not what makes the scene so perfect. It’s perfect because of the note it strikes about companionship and fellow-feeling, a note held all the way through series three.

Ghosts’ third series is airing weekly on Monday nights and available to stream in full on BBC iPlayer. Funny, confident and even more experimental in format, it’s the show’s best yet. And while it wears its emotions lightly and never loses sight of its daft comic personality, it’s often very touching. The show has perfected its theme of family. Alison had none, bar husband Mike, when she inherited Button House. Over three series, we’ve watched Button House turn from an empty shell into a real family home.

Series three episode ‘Something to Share?’, written by Mat Baynton and Jim Howick, is Ghosts’ finest achievement so far. It’s a psychologically complex episode that visits scenes from the life of Lolly Adefope’s character Kitty – a sunshine-faced 18th century noblewoman whose cause of death is still tba (though having met her nasty sister, we could hazard a guess). Adefope is excellent in it, and carves out deep hollows of emotion beneath Kitty’s giggling, simpering façade.

The episode’s real genius though, is the conceit of having Kitty’s family played in flashback by the Ghosts cast – at least, to begin with. Kitty’s sunny outlook applies equally to the present and the past. She rewrites any cruelty she’s experienced and looks back with the rosiest of tinted glasses. She sees the horrid sister who bullies her as kind and adoring, the stern father who rages at her as benevolent and upstanding, so mentally casts them as compassionate, caring Alison (Ritchie) and the stern but loving and fatherly Captain (a WWII ghost played by Ben Willbond). Other cast members appear as servants and local figures.

As the scales start to fall from Kitty’s eyes, her family’s true faces appear in her memories. Her father was no Captain and her sister was certainly no Alison. Kitty had chosen to remember them that way because she loves Alison and the other ghosts like family. They’re who she wanted around her in life as well as in death.

No matter that they’re from different centuries and have entirely different understandings of the world, the ghosts’ kinship transcends their differences. A caveman, a 1990s politician, an Edwardian aristocrat, a WWII captain, a 16th century witch, a Regency poet, a headless Elizabethan, a 1980s scoutmaster, a debutante from the 1800s and a 21st century orphan can all learn from each other and find common ground. Around a piano, singing a carol, they can be family.

And that is the shining heart of Ghosts, the message underpinning its brilliant silliness: we have more in common than that which divides us. Without a hint of sappiness, that’s what catches unexpectedly in your throat mid-laugh.

Now, let’s have series four, five and six please, a Christmas special every year, and somebody get Robin to release a Zumba workout DVD. We need to work on our cores.
