Since my previous posts talked about elementals. I want to write an essay about them from my perspective and possible theories and headcanon I gathered so far. It might not be accurate so fill me in if you want to add or correct some of it. I love open discussion ^^

I've seen some people thought that in the early season, all elementals had not have characteristics but changed after Halilintar's incident.

Boboiboy's emotions under circumstances not only triggered the true self of available elementals, but it also awakened the other elemental powers as well(hence how the rest 4 were born) like what anon said here.

This is gonna be looooong ted talk so I have to spilt this in two parts!

What I want to talk about is how interesting their character development throughout the series. Starting with the original trio!

(That 3rd picture lasted for a few minutes... I didn't even notice their communication at first. :'()

Their development was that drastic in the youth era. The unstoppable "the fun, the serious and the tough one"(edit: more like, "The Striker, Tacklerer, and The Goal Keeper in soccer terms. Don't ask why I thought about this a lot) which sparks Boboiboy as the hero of Pulau Rintis. But, it's starting to decrease during Galaxy onwards.

I know I know they need to blend with the others as well. (They got most of the screen time in every series after all). I already talked about it here.

(People say this year indirectly the reunion of this trio I guess? Windara and Gentaraju animated arc? ...

but... aaah well... my head's spinning right now >_<)

Halilintar/Thunderstorm.

What more to say about this person? haha, I've already talked about it from anon in the first link I put on before and this one.

But still, from the very first moment he arrived till today, I am almost certain my hypothesis then and now is coming true. Being just created as "the cool, serious" side of Boboiboy, This 'talk less, do slash more' guy unknowingly becomes the tsundere eldest due to his tragic incident.

He is such a supportive person behind that murder mask. Seeing rare moments that he actually cares for others whenever he can is an absolute miracle. God, the season 2 comic and Sori continuingly showed his soft side from youth era. wtf my 12-year-old me is screaming right now! aaarghh! :3

(But that face in ep 5 when he's strangled lmaooooo X'D)

Taufan/Cyclone

One of my favorite things that I know about him is he enjoys whenever he's out. He truly loves all the thrilling fights, if not get the vibe, he instantly goes into a bad mood. Every poster I saw about him, always with his smile and never faded. That's why I was shocked when I saw his decision in Windara's arc. Finally, the man he always wanted to be, bravely giving it all in one v one fight. I'm so proud of him! T^T

His easygoing attitude reminds me of a certain hedgehog I knew hehe...both resemble the wind itself right? :] (I need to draw them in June)

Leading the Troublemaker trio is always fun to watch. And the fact that he looks at Hali as his role model is really cute! Despite him and Hali being the first two elements who had civil fights before, a bit sad these two are independent on their own from Galaxy onwards :'(

Gempa/Quake

Gempa got me confirmation that he is the leader of the elementals from the very first fight till now. I can see why he has the closest resemblance to Boboiboy himself (hence the hat position :] ).

To be fair, Gempa is the only elemental that I see no difference with Boboiboy. And with being one of the strongest elementals(with embedded two giant stone hands), he sure is a low-profile person and easily blends with other elementals. Now I know why he gets the title "Mama Gempa". He is unknowingly taking too much care of every elementals like a family ^^)' .

Even tho he's the last power to be introduced(in this trio) and sometimes people see him as a lone wolf in the group, he's natural at giving orders. The others actually listen to him and get scolded if they messed up! Like how parents do! X'D

How about the Temper Duo?

(Why monsta didn't put this dialog to Sori? :''(( )

How fitting the theme song of movie 2 titled Fire and water as well? Hehe.

Being the first two powers to be fused(the coolest name, "Frostfire" :} ), these two are what most people like to call "The polar opposites". The ones that used two hoodies in the youth era(except now only Ice wears it), the ones that had back-to-back introductions (exactly after Fire arrived, water showed up in the next episode, Galaxy season 1 also showcased the exact same pattern), the only two powers survived in movie 2, and even their own original masters lived in the same planet.

I'd say if these elementals do be brothers, these two were most likely born twins. (I know I may be late to this headcanon but hey why not? :/)

Blaze

The gremlin boi who got more screentime in sori than his partner. I absolutely adore this boy in Galaxy onwards. His wild and reckless traits are always the main attraction whenever I watch his combat style. I still think since season 3 and movie 1 He should've gotten a brass knuckle type as a weapon than the fire disc. He's a close combat brawler, right?

Anyway, he might be the one who hasn't changed much since his youth until now. In fact, I'd say he is a pretty consistent character from the start. Only gets wilder and cheekier to his fellow elementals tehee~. But that's the beauty of having a friend like Blaze. If done right, Blaze could shock you with his kindness and care deeply for others. Just like how he did with Duri once he accidentally broke Duri's plant in one of Boboiboy's official posts. (Sori ep 3 and comic made my day lmao)

Ais/Ice

If I can relate to one elemental, I choose Ice. He likes to eat yet is frightened to get fat like he did in his youth era; a very sleepy person; also an introverted person but he is confident when surrounded by his closest circle. And most of my friends are usually the Blaze type. So I can understand how to handle that person ^^)'

Ehem. Ice's first tier, Air/Water, got me confused at first. Mainly how he summons his power. Somehow Ice fixed that issue. Making his right arm purely made of ice is genius. My headcanon is every weapon or power he uses comes from his right arm. His cannon comes from his right arm, the same as the bow & arrow one. Even so, many scenes contradict that(Boboiboy is an ambidextrous guy).

Can I say I'm glad from Galaxy onwards he's a bit more open than in his youth era or just me? This doesn't count during the transition mode. All I see now is that he showed more emotions than Hali. (Also whoever decided Ice's tears become snowflakes, I salute you sir)

Last but not least! The Photosynthesis duo!

(I talk about this scene before but holy shit this scene is always mesmerizing to watch)

Duri and Solar were also made me adore them if not because of season 2 & Sori. Okay, I have to confess first to avoid misconception:

I was disappointed when Duri and Solar showed up in movie 1.

My selfish youth still took some time to get used to with Fire and Water in season 3. And all I think was negative reactions when Duri and Solar showed up. That's... also the reason why I went on hiatus.

Luckily, hence the word "was" I put it there.

I'm very grateful that they reset his watch back to start, so then they can at least make a proper debut with both Duri and Solar in Galaxy series. I much prefer that method. (That last episode was truly huge, I'm shocked they went that grand)

Therefore, Sori could continue to make the audience know better about these two! Pretty creative I'd say! I can see why the last three episodes are fan favorites. Me personally love eps 5 & 6.

Duri/Thorn

The most unique symbol to draw to, Duri truly shines in galaxy 2 comic and Sori. His debut in galaxy 1--oh wait, in Eid Fitri's short video after movie 1 made me confused with Taufan at first. Even though he's got more screen time than Solar, Duri still surprised people with the recent series. Who knew his childish and clumsy features could do unverbal damage to enemies by his words? Count me in! He might not do that to his friends and families, but he will delightedly do so with Solar :D

And thanks to Sori, I can now differentiate between Taufan and Duri more clearly. His design in Sori especially the last three is my fav. I love what Monsta did the effects on his arms. Since he doesn't has a signature weapon, they create a 2D flash-winded green leaf around his arm like a coil. That is a very cute detail for Duri.

A bit surprised when every elemental went to serious mode in Windara's arc, only Duri still managed to find fun in the battle. Heck even Taufan dropped his smile during that.

Solar

Being the trump card of the group, I can see why he is the last elemental to be introduced, both in movie 1 and galaxy series. The hardest one to obtain his 2nd tier that requires proper research and pure luck, Solar's traits are also what makes him interesting. To be honest I didn't expect his characteristic to be like this, at all. And somehow very matched with his design and attack as well. Every aspect is strangely in synch I'm astonished. (Adding a visor to his 2nd tier is uhh *chef's kiss B=) )

Also, I love that his attacks use his finger that's also kinda easter egg of the famous "Ray Gun!" shot attack from Yu Yu Hakusho(look it up, there's a live-action ver if you want to know the short ver of the series. The anime itself is legendary to all weebs out there).

Regardless of his limited screentime in every series. I'm very much grateful Monsta treats him equally. His timing in Sori is exceptional and his popularization bursting successfully. My only hope he didn't get cut in Windara and let all elementals showed up. When was the last time Boboiboy did that without splitting to 7?....

... Well if you count heptasplit part, the last time he did that was in Movie 1. That's 9 years ago.

Now we're done here? Nice! Onto the theory part in reblog!

curses, coincidences, and deity influences

so um. i kinda wrote an essay of some sorts

the canary curse

canary call, the first to fall / forever caged in different walls. everyone knows this one - canaries were used in coal mines in the 1900s as a warning to miners that there where toxic gases such carbon dioxide or other asphyxiant gases in the air, which would effect small warm blooded animals faster than larger ones due to their quicker respiratory exchange. canaries were found to be more sensitive and effective than mice as they showed more visible signs of distress. canaries were brought into mines in carriers and cages to save the miners, often at the expense of their own lives (though sometimes they had little oxygen bottles to revive the birds)

this is jimmy. jimmy is always out first, without fail, in every season. he's the first one to be struck with lightning and separated from everyone else.

3rd life; died in a war with his husband despite being in a bunker.

last life; died because he got a bit too greedy as a red life and tried to push his brother-figure into a trap, and then faced the consequences.

double life; got caught and strangled by an enderman, leaving his cursed by proxy soulmate to die alone.

limited life; once again got too greedy as a red life and fell off the bridge along with the tnt minecraft he tried to push off of it. in fact, this wasn't even supposed to ever happen. he was supposed to die earlier, when etho got his boogey kill, but he got the incorrect amount of time subtracted from his total. he wasn't supposed to be alive - he was dead before he hit the ground.

two deaths from trying to keep himself safe, two from fall damage, two from greed. ironic how a bird dies twice from falling to his death, huh?

the canary in the coal mine analogy is actually vaguely referenced in the very first parts of 3rd life session one. martyn's digging down and asks bigb to sing for him so when martyn can't hear him anymore he knows he's dug too deep and it's time to leave

miners attempted to revive their canaries because of how much they relied on them. jimmy, however? no potential for revival there.

attempts to break the curse have been made. they've never succeeded.

jimmy's never seen anyone permadie. he's never seen a dead body. the day he does, if ever, is surely gonna hurt. "that should've been me".

the watcher curse

this one isn't really official, it's more of a pattern, and one harder to 'prove'. those who are watcher aligned (ex. grian) tend to cause themselves and their allies to lose or die early.

grian

grian caused scar's death in 3rd life.

all the southlanders died in last life, hell jimmy and mumbo were to his own hands, the two he was closest to.

he killed bigb in double life despite them being secret soulmates.

all the bad boys and clockers died in limited life, many because of him, notably scar.

the listener blessing

pretty much the opposite to the watcher curse, where everyone who's listener aligned (ex. scott, martyn, pearl) tend to cause themselvs and their allies to win or live longer.

scott

grian won third life with scar as second place - scott was allies with both of them

scott himself won last life with pearl, his closest ally, in the top four

pearl (and technically scott, in a sense) won double life with the other half of the divorce quartet as second or third/fourth place. tilly death do us part!

martyn won limited life by betraying his own mean gill, "and i wouldn't have had it any other way."

scott has been allied with every single person who has won one of these death games up to limited life.

martyn

dogwarts, despite not winning in the end, certaintly got very close to it. and martyn was the last of the king and his hand to die.

he made it to the top four in last life and in double life

he won limited life, maybe not the most honorably, but it's been coming all the way since red winter and his plan for red spring. and the watchers were notably involved in this win, too. "THIS IS A DEATH MATCH FOR A REASON."

the phoenix curse (etho)

every odd numbered season, etho loses his last life to fire/burning. in even numbered seasons, nothing fire/burning related even really happens

unnamed (joel)

joel always tends to end up alone and desperate for kills

the watcher's self fulfilling prophecy

the idea that because us, the watchers, the viewers, believe in these curses and stuff, makes them true

the canary curse

the idea that the watchers pushed jimmy off skynet in limited life to continue the canary curse

the widow curse

sort of ties into the watcher curse and listener blessing. the thought that with grian, he causes his allies to die and him to be left standing. with the listener aligned players, they're the only ones left standing until the end.

referenced by scott and cleo in third life, when their husbands die they'd make the widow's alliance

grian never being boogeyman

grian is a watcher who's inserted himself into the games. if he wasn't ever meant to play, if he was only ever meant to watch, why should he be a valid entry?

could be tied to the amount of lives he got in last life, as well. he wasn't meant to be there in the first place. why let him play longer?

the AFK session (grian)

canonically (to eyesandears), grian was pulled away from his body during the AFK session. "pause, unpause, we paralyze / a vacant stare for wandering eyes."

the watchers are pissed that grian keeps getting to play. they're trying their best to rip him out of the games and return to their grasp.

the border

"here's the thing about being beyond the veil - we're already dead."

being beyond the border doesn't protect you. it only hurts you. grian knows this because he's a watcher

bigb's invisibility

bigb was briefly invisible to scott during a fight in limited life due to a glitch in the game. what if this is just because the watchers hate scott with a passion and wanted to make his life harder? we already know they hate him

the fact that it was bigb, a former evo member, is interesting too…

playing by the rules - compliance and refusal

martyn either tries his hardest and fails, or obliges against his will.

his attempted boogey kill on scott failed and the shadow was very upset with him for this. they gave him one job and he failed.

he was very clearly influenced by the watchers to break the notion that red lives should all of a sudden be honorable at the final few again.

scott's outright denial

scott tried the whole boogeyman thing once in last life, but the next time he straight up refused to play by the rules. he told everyone he was the boogeyman and laid out his plan of playing as normal unless a situation arises where he could steal a kill.

he denied his soulmate in double life and went and got a new one

rushed boogey kill in limited life instead of building up the suspense the watchers wanted

has technically won 2/4 games.

bdubs being unwatched

bdubs didn't record his limited life perspective. he could only have been watched through others's perspectives, or heard about.

Some few unpopular anime opinions

If you're as chronically online as i am there may be a few opinions that you might agree with.

Warning: typos ahead bc i did not spell check

So let's get straight into it.

Anyone who has demon slayer as their favourite anime is valid and y'all nees to stop hating on anime just because it is mainstream. You're not special or better than anyone and this comes from someone who watches slice of life and isekai for fun. I've seen my fair share of anime and demon slayer is a decent shonen.

Shonen anime needs to stop with these war/genocide themes.

Fire force, Jujutsu kaisen, Attack on titan, kaiju no.8, Chansaw man. Demon slayer Ect.. all these anime have 3 things in common. It's about either war, genocide, or a combination of both. I understand that it's the easiest and most recognisable route to go if you want to have a Hero in your story. But anime's like jojobizzareadventure for example don't need war or saving humanity as a whole as a driving point for their plot. (Ignoring part 2 and 6)

Whoever is in charge of great pretender is one big fat racist for not continuing with a 3rd season. This is the first time we get a black love intrest and just when she gets revealed the show gets cancelled? Unbelievable!

Slice of life & romance anime is fun and idc what people have to say about it.

Listen, our lives are shit and this is good escapism! Who wouldn't want to watch someone go through their regular day and have their biggest quest be a trip to the grocery store or their hardest task being deciding what they are gonna wear tomorrow. Our real lives are like that too. I bet you that anyone who watches anime and is a full time student or worker. Apart from maybe exciting weekends or evening outs. We do live are lives rather simply. And what's wrong with watching someone else live their lives. It's even better when its romance because you get to root for a likeable couple and live vicariously through them.

My hero fell off

I don't need to go to deep into this. I really liked the series. I loved Kirishima's ark. And I literally have aizawa as a widget on my phone but if you need 6 seasons for character devolopment for your MC who's been on a losing streak since the very first episode. Then you and your writing team need a good and long meeting about compelling story telling.

Requiem of the rose king

At the beginning of the story I really felt bad for richard because everyone was treating him like shit just because he's intersexual. But near the end of the story he kind of proved his mothers point by killing literally everyone that he loved.

This is the most daring manga I've ever read and idk if i shoukd feel ashamed that it's my first fully completed series but to be fair I bought it bc of the art style and i kept reading because of the messy family drama.

The pedo stuff and the incest stuff is just... yikes.

Overal a good series really nails the head on old English aesthetic. Still not better than black butler though

Everyone is fruity asf

I ship everyone in vanitias no carte and so should you.

Anyone in the fandom knows about the canon and fanon ships. The canon ships have written chemistry and sometimes the chemistry is valid. However the obvious gae undertones are hard to ignore and so I understand the fandoms discourse. HOWEVER it's not an excuse to hate or dismiss the hetero ships. I do not want a repetition of the mess that is the jojo fandom where every hetero ship just gets flushed down the toilet as if they don't exist. With that being said i ship vanitas and Jeanne and there is nothing you can do about it.

I'll never forgive araki for what he did to gappy and yasuho

You can not have the first female jobro have this much chemistry with the main jojo and not have them end up as a couple. The ending of jojolion will be on my mind till i die because the way i cried ugly tears because i was anticipating a kiss or at least a freaking hug. I am sad and my faith in love haa left along with the last chapter of jojolion.

For now this it i sure have a lot more to say but this thread would get too long. If anyone has actually read this what is wrong with you lmao go outside.

Evil Xisuma in s8 is under Jeff the Minion's control, and likely the Midas Curse, and that is why they're a Capitalist right now

hey! hi! welcome to my post. i will share with you what has been unable to leave my mind for the past week

you might have noticed this part in X's ep 1010! It is probably the cutscene with the least amount of lore in it, it's just EX relaxing and watching TV with other animations th3pooka (the person who animates these new EX cutscenes!) has done. The 2nd show shown is from their animation of Dragon Bro's, but the 1st and 3rd are from a 20 minute animation by them called Evil's Fault. When watching the 3rd clip, EX exclaims, "Oh! Jeff the Minion! Haven't seen that guy in some time." implying that EX remembers events that only happened in Evil's Fault, and that Evil's Fault, animated by th3pooka, IS canon to the s8 EX plot going on.

If you think that that's flimsy to say that the animation is canon I understand, but also consider that this is seemingly the only point of this cutscene: just to show that 1. EX is a tad depressed 2. They remember Jeff the Minion (while 2 scenes of Evil's Fault are played.) Episode 1010 was also uploaded on the 2 year anniversary of Evil's Fault. (Jun 19th)

Evil's Fault also includes voice acting (and music!) from other hermits, and X shouted it out when it came out and linked to it in his HC episode at the time. I think it's fair to say that Evil's Fault, and it's 3 prequels (the CarnEVIL trilogy) are canon to X's s8.

So! What is in Evil's Fault?

oh boy . there is a lot in Evil's Fault. if you are an ex enjoyer and haven't watched it yet, like i had. uh. its probably best to just watch it (tw, it said at the end its dedicated to people struggling with feelings of 'Hate, Addiction, and Doubt', and i think if you are sensitive to seeing violent internal intrusive thoughts, take caution)

So, in Evil's Fault we learn that since at least ep 500, EX has been 'working with' a mythical being named Jeff the Minion. (named "Jeff the Nightmare" in the Evil's Faults credits since he's not Dionyisus's minion anymore since Pungence freed him (listen it's a long story) but I'm gonna refer to him as Jeff the Minion for this post) If you don't know who Jeff the Minion is, like 99% of people on earth, HERE is a post by hermette-historian, and another by arandomshine. In short, they are a Season 1 Pungence and Skyzm lore character that appeared in. One episode. (and other th3pooka animations)

Jeff the Minion is also the evil voice that EX was talking to in ep 666 (that appeared as a wither skull), and likely the supplier of the Withermen in ep 500 (Jeff himself is associated with wither skeleton skulls, and we see in Evil's Fault that he has a lot of smaller minions that do his bidding. These were likely lent to EX as the Withermen)

Some time after episode 500, (while EX is stuck at the bottom of the pit in the s4 world), EX falls asleep and dreams of their life, before Jeff the Minion intercepts the dream. Jeff the Minion places this glowing wither skull into EX's head, saying that he'll always be there inside EX's mind, no matter how hard they try to wake up.

Then in the segment titled "Waking world?" we see EX, still stuck in the pit in the s4 world, trying to stay awake from episode 569-574. There is one scene in particular in this segment that I didn't understand watching the first time, that I think is very important.

On the wall, we see messages that EX scribbled in lava to remind themselves. They turn to obsidian as time passes, and by the end the pit is a Collage of desperate messages from EX to themselves to STAY AWAKE. But what I think is interesting is the message to EX's left here. "$ 1-Emerald Golden Chips <AND> Silver Fish"

It starts as just the chips thing (chips as in Bri'ish way of saying fries) and then they add the Silverfish when they catch one, but what does this message mean? They just caught this food for themselves, what does it being an emerald mean?

This seems to be EX making a shop. Saying that it's 1 Emerald to pay for their food. (the use of Emeralds is interesting too, why not 1 Diamond? Using Unusual Currency huh ex). Why would EX be making a shop, stranded at the bottom of a lava pit??

Now I want to move from Evil's Fault, and take a look at Jeff the Minion's original episode, and King Midas's Curse within it.

In Pungence's S1 Ep 12, he and skyzm are given a book with a message by a creature named Jeff the Minion. They own a shop filled with King Midas's Treasures, (just gold gear) sold at Ludicrious prices, and Jeff says that they need to toss them back into the Pactolus River to get rid of the curse (which has been passed down onto them). This is really a ploy from Jeff, because if the golden items and the 'successor of the gold curse' (Pungence) are under Jeff's control, he can use them to break free of Dionysius (who he is in debt too because he got drunk and ate a whole bag of Ritz Crackers) and return to his former powerful state. (Jeff the Nightmare). The curse was also originally given to King Midas by Dionysus.

Pungence and Skyzm laugh in his face and do not, in fact, do that. Jeff isn't seen again until CarnEVIL 2, Dream No More.

Pungence tries to attack Jeff (in the body of/masquerading as Evil GenerikB? idk), but uses King Midas's sword, releasing Jeff's full power as he has the successor of the gold curse and the King's items. Jeff's full power is shown briefly, before they defeat him and seal him in ice until Pixelated Heart.

A lot happens in Pixelated Heart, but the sum of it is that all the hermits use the power of love (and remembering their loved ones who Aren't there) to fight Jeff the Nightmare. Xisuma, along Pooka and GenerikB are the one's leading the charge, and Xisuma is the one who shoots Jeff's eye. They also say that all of those Little Jeff's (called 'Trapped Hearts' in Evil's Faults credits) are dead/inactive hermits, corrupted, so that's pretty fucked up if true!

Here is my full interpretation of when things happen up until s8!

What we know is that Jeff the Nightmare, who was a voice in EX's head from at least 500-666 (where he's then banished from EX's head by the power of EX and X's bond, put into X's hand by EX, (which is then why EX goes Oh Im Good Now! at the end of ep666. Jeff is gone from their mind)), and is then gone until ep 800.

I personally think that since it was X and EX's bond that drove Jeff away in the first place (the redstone represents Bonds with other people, you see that in Pixelated Heart), as X's trust in EX dwindled, Jeff was able to creep back into their mind and convince EX that they were evil and always were going to be, partially because that's what X was thinking.

Then, EX tries to break free and make a final stand, with Wormman and Xisuma (the only two people who. care about them) coming to help, giving Purposeful parallels to the big power of love fight scene in Pixelated Heart, but if its from Xisuma not actually trusting EX deep down, or just from the fact that there are only 2 of them vs the like 100 that fought in PH, Evil Xisuma loses their last fight, at the end of Evil's Fault. (see the emerald that flies Straight to their face)

So. At the end of Evil's Fault, EX falls under Jeff's control again.

Now onto S8.

First off, EX is a lot.. smarter, and subtler this season. This really doesn't seem their style, but would make sense if someone is trying to keep a low profile here, and manipulate someone else into doing their bidding and building their empire, so they can strike once all of the hermits are under their control. I'm not talking about EX manipulating Xisuma here, I'm talking about Jeff manipulating EX.

The sudden capitalist turn from EX, something they've never cared about before in their life (the only other time they had a shop was in s5, the shop with Wormman, where they literally gave away their knitting patterns and other things for free. it was literally free)... Could be because with Pungence no longer the successor, King Midas's Greed was something that Jeff could pass down to EX, and could be the reason why they are focused on wanting money (if it's not just for general Want of Control, to exploit people, which it could be too)

But now onto the parallel between Jeff's voice in EX's mind in Evil's Fault and the mind control (and i think th3pooka on twitter confirmed it was in fact mind control) that EX did on Xisuma. Both spells involved the persons signature 'thing' (wither skull for Jeff, lightning for EX), colored their color, that then went into the persons head and turned their eyes to that color. It's safe to say that this is likely the same, if not similar spells.

What Jeff's spell did was put his 'everlasting voice' into EX's head. He was able to send messages to EX, seemingly look through their eyes, and compel them to do things. It seems likely that EX now has the same 'backdoor' into X's mind, and if you count the streams as canon, you might even say that clips like these confirm that EX can see through X's eyes, and influence him to say things for them.

I think that the EX heads that EX is giving to the other hermits do a similar thing, give EX that same 'backdoor' into their minds if they're wearing them. The episode is called 'influencing the hermits' and EX seems VERY excited and Evil when the hermits put on the heads.

Jeff wants to destroy the Hermitcraft server, and has a motive to go after Xisuma and Evil Xisuma specifically. EX seems to be being used because they can access the psychical world, and Jeff can't, and their bonds with others are weak enough that Jeff can put the doubt and hate into their mind enough to control them (Maybe the reason that Jeff can't influence other hermits Directly yet is because their bonds with eachother are too strong, and wards him away)

Another thing I want to mention is EX, both in the "Waking World?" section of Evil's Fault and in 1010, sitting watching TV and being surrounded by food, and empty potion bottles. (probably the closest thing to wine in Minecraft, i think that these scenes could be hinting at Dionysius/Midas Curse control. the cookies in 1010 also are the closest thing in Minecraft to Ritz Crackers I can think of).

In short (and this post has not been short. dear god i am sorry that this post has not been short but i think i had to explain all this because nobody knows who the hell jeff the minion isJNKBHXC), I think it's pretty much confirmed that EX is working (unwillingly) with Jeff the Nightmare in s8, has a backdoor into Xisuma's mind, and is trying to influence and get into the minds of the other hermits. (And that the capitalism May be linked to King Midas's curse, which now that Pungence is gone, does not have a 'successor'. but honestly maybe this isnt connected to the midas thing i just wanna be clever with why specifically theyre doing shops and money out of nowhere)

But what makes me say that they're definitely working together with such certainty? Look at this shot from 1013.

Yep! Those eyes aren't EX's. Those are Jeff's eyes in the reflection. EX is certainly under Jeff's control in s8, but where the story ends up going from here we'll have to wait and see.

NOTE ALSO I WAS ABOUT TO POST THIS BUT MY BROTHER BROUGHT SOMETHING UP. EX SAYING "Oh Jeff the Minion! Haven't seen that guy in some time." IMPLIES. THAT THEY DONT KNOW THAT JEFF IS CONTROLLING THEM CURRENTLY EVEN THOUGH JEFF IS AT LEAST IDLE IN THE BACK OF EX'S MIND, AS SEEN FROM THE REFLECTION IN 1013. PAIN AGONY EVEN

Kid & Tuna Sandwich: A Purr-fect Combo

Hello fellow KC fans I’m here to ramble ‘bout how amazingly written Kid and Tuna’s relationship is written as someone who was like him when it came to my kitty. (This essay became longer than I expected so I put it under the read more)

First, Tuna loves him so much and it ain't just because Kid gives him sandwiches like most people would think, especially after seeing the flashback/nightmare scene. He loves Kid, and this is fully proven at the end of the 3rd episode when Kid places a sandwich between them and tuna ignores it completely to snuggle up under his head and purr. Tuna attacks the government, aliens, anything that could harm kid despite him having nothing but his teeth and claws - no superstrength, no invincibility, nothin. It’s his love for the kid that keeps him fighting to the point he’s willing to hijack a truck to save him when he thinks he’s going to die. To him, Kid is a sunbeam in a dreary house - a source of warmth and happiness that’d make any kitty lucky to have around.

And that platonic love and trust is fully reciprocated by Kid. Everyone else had to prove themselves to get or keep their ring (Jo convinced him he’d need a partner against a threat, Rosa destroyed Chuck’s plan, Papa G used his to rescue himself and the others).

Tuna though? He has Kid's full trust. He can't even tell them what's going to happen and the ring would be far better suited for a human member but Kid let's tuna keep it because he truly trusts Tuna, maybe even more than he trusts Papa G!

And it makes sense! Like I get it, because just like Kid I've had my own old man since I was younger even younger than when Kid found Tuna - I was younger than Rosa actually. When I was Kid’s age my own old man had my full trust - I would have totally trusted him with cosmic power just because I know I can trust him! It’s not logically logical, but it is emotionally logical - especially considering Kid’s hobbies. Even if you aren’t a comic book fan you might know the story of Dexter/Dex-Starr, the Red Latern who is a cat. And Dex-Starr isn’t the only animal superhero! Ace the Bathound debuted in Batman #92 which came out in June of 1955, and before him Rex the Wonder Dog and Krypto - all of these are animals but also superheroes. And if I remember correctly not all of these fuzzy friends can talk, so to Kid the fact a cat can be a hero is perfectly sound. And even better, it’s his bestest friend whose been by his side since he was little - ready to listen to him read comic books and stuff (AN: I just wanted to add that during Tuna’s short if you look closely Tuna’s only pretending to sleep while Kid’s with him. During most of it his brow is turned downward and resting on his muzzle, but when he’s with Kid it’s slightly above the muzzle. He’s listening to Kid’s reading and I bet Kid knows it too since he’s been with him so long).

The two of them know each other almost perfectly. When they go to save him after Tuna can talk and the kid freaks out excitedly, to the point he can only repeat the same thing, Tuna understands what he wants to say and tells him he loves the kid too before moving his head towards Kid - who meets him exactly at the same time before hugging him. That's not a motion you can do so perfectly if it's not something you do often, so they do the kitty affection thing of butting heads often enough it's ingrained in how they react to 1 another. Kid always has a tuna sandwich with him ready for his kitty (AN: which reminds me of another autistically coded, well written kid character - Lilo. It’s interesting how both of these kids, who lost their parents in car crashes, ended up doing a regularly done ritual involving sandwiches), knows how Tuna wants to be petted, and when he rescues them he immediately knows how and why he came despite not having actually seen his power. Tuna allows Kid to play with him (ex. Episode 1, after Kid descends into babbling at him he grabs Tuna’s face and Tuna doesn’t growl or anything, just waits for him to let go), is the 1st to realize Kid’s upset at being called comic relief (during the big win when everyone is making fun of Kid, his eyes are surprised and open and only turns after he hears the door chime), and listens to him read comics to the point where certain ideas are part of his dreams. Tuna says he'd been dreaming of a device that'd let him communicate for years. That sort of tech is so common in comics, so kid hasn't been just talking to the air, Tuna has been listening to him when he gets excited and reads his comics to him.

In conclusion, their dynamic is one of the best written kid and animal friend dynamics I’ve ever watched since I was a little creature, and I hope season 2 has more moments that expand on their relationship.

“It was about time.”

The Beginning

If you were to ask Adrien how it had happened, he probably wouldn’t be able to answer as truthfully as you were hoping.

Because honestly?

He had no idea how it had changed.

Or more specifically, why it changed.

*3 weeks earlier*

The morning alarm beeped harshly, and Adrien groaned as he shut it off.

It was too early for this.

Had it really just been 5 hours ago that he and Ladybug had defeated that damned akuma?

Everything was groggy, all he could remember was getting blown across Paris multiple times, and it was very painful.

He hated element-based akumas.

“Come on kid, if you want to make it to class, you better get going,” Plagg flew around his room, stretching his paws.

“It’s not very often you are enthusiastic for school, what’s going on?”

“Oh nothing! I just have a good feeling about today...”

He sure was right about that.

Adrien felt like death as he tried to listen to Bustier. Everything was sore, when his eyelids constantly drooped down. he wanted to let them close so bad.

“Everyone will work in groups only two for this project,” the teacher had been droning on, but this had perked his ears. He turned to Nino with a knowing look, as did most of the class with their close friends.

“However, you will need to prove that you can work with someone who you aren’t used to, they will be assigned.”

A collective groan from the tables erupted.

“Now now, remember to be respecting of your partner, no matter if you get along or not!”

Mrs. Bustier grabbed a clipboard, and started calling off names.

“Rose and Max”

“Sabrina and Alix”

“Juleka and Kim”

“Alya and Mylene”

“Ivan and Nino”

“Adrien and Marinette”

Adrien smiled, quietly celebrating he got someone he liked, a friend.

He looked up to the desk behind him, where Alya was grinning from ear to ear, and Marinette looked like she had seen a ghost.

He hated that.

He always made the poor girl so shy and uncomfortable, and he’d ask if he was doing something wrong, but he didn’t want to freak her out more.

“Hey Marinette!” Adrien ran up to the designer when class was over. “When do you want to get together?”

“G-Get together?”

“Yeah! For the project, I figured you wanted to get together to work on it...” He realized if she didn’t like him, she probably wouldn’t want to partner up. “Unless you don’t want to of course, that’s okay.”

“No! I-I mean well, yes, but no! I mean- yeah, you can come over to my house today!”

“Awesome! Can I have your number so I can contact you and stuff?”

Marinette’s cheeks reddened even more, but Adrien pretended not to notice so he couldn’t make her more uncomfortable.

He took out his phone and gave it to her, letting her put in her number.

“Are you a Ladybug fan?” She chuckled, looking at his wallpaper. Adrien rubbed his neck sheepishly.

“Yeah, big fan of her work. You see, I like Paris, it’s home, and the fact that she sacrifices so much to safe our city is pretty awesome, you know?”

Marinette nodded, and Adrien hoped she didn’t ask more, she wouldn’t understand if he admitted he was in love with the superhero.

She didn’t know about all the nights he spent with her, jumping across roofs, having fun in their childhood.

She didn’t know about all the cold nights spent cuddling, just trying to get some warmth from eachother.

She didn’t know about all the times he had broken down, and she had comforted him, even though she didn’t know who he was or what had caused him pain.

No one knew.

“Adrien?” Marinette’s voice called him to reality.

“Sorry, I just zoned out! Didn’t get much sleep last night.”

“I get it, I didn’t sleep the best either.”

Adrien studied the girl, and sure enough he could see the developing eyebags, and he noticed the way she was slumped more than usual.

“Well- I’ll see you later!” Adrien said as Marinette handed him his phone back, with her contact stored inside.

Gorilla honked at him from the car, which was his cue to go.

“Yeah, later s-see you! I mean, see you later!”

Adrien waited inside the bakery for Marinette to let him up. The smell of freshly baked bread and sweets was enticing, but he dared not to eat any, knowing his father’s strict diet rules. Marinette’s parents had both offered some buttery croissants and pastries, but he had reluctantly declined.

“Okay, you can, uh- come up now!” Marinette’s head poked out from the top of the stairs. Adrien hurried up the steps, wanting to get away from the aroma before his stomach betrayed him.

Marinette’s room was so...her. The walls were covered with designs, artists, and models(he spotted himself a couple times). Her room just seemed so personal, capturing her personality spot on.

“So...what do you want to start on first?” Adrien sat himself on the chaise, pulling out his work from his backpack.

“I’ve planned out the essay, and highlighted the important parts of our assigned characters, so basically we just need to do the research, create a theme, and put it all together?”

“That was a lot to take in,” Adrien laughed, still trying to comprehend what she had told him. “What do you want me to do?”

“We should start thinking of themes to start,” Marinette grabbed a piece of paper from her desk and handed it to him. “I started a list so you just tell me which ones you like and we can go from there.”

Adrien scanned the list, but nothing stood out to him. Animals, floral, monuments, seasons, nothing was really distinctive.

Then something clicked.

“What if we did it based on Ladybug and Chat Noir?”

“Good idea, but how do we really base the characters on that?”

“Well I’m not particularly familiar with the book, but the characters are supposed to be like ‘super brave’ or whatever, so we can relate those traits-”

“-to the similarities in the two of them! Of course! You’re a genius Adrien!”

He beamed, and they started to discuss more about Paris’s heroes. It was strange to talk about himself in 3rd person, but easy to talk about Ladybug. In fact, they were so coherent on the topic, it barely dinner-time and they had already set the entire foundation for the project.

“I’ve probably got to get going, I don’t want to overstay my welcome,” Adrien said, cleaning up the mess of papers they had made.

“Unless, you want to stay for dinner? We could hang out for a bit, if you wanted, since most of the work for today is done?”

Adrien thought for a moment, and dinner with Marinette and her family in their warm house was much more appealing than sitting alone at an empty table with a small plate of food.

“I’d love that.”

Adrien spent the rest of the week going over to Marinette’s house, and frankly, he enjoyed it a lot.

He had gotten a lot closer to Mari, and she wasn’t as uncomfortable around him anymore. Maybe he had gotten her to finally befriend him?

He discovered lots of things while at the Dupain-Chengs’:

1) He was lousy at Ultimate Mecha Strike III compared to Mari.

2) He really loved macaroons.

And finally:

3) He couldn’t get his mind off of Mari.

All the usual hours spent daydreaming of Ladybug had been replaced with the designer.

All he could think about was her.

“Someone has a cru-ush!” Plagg teased, zooming around Adrien’s bed with his camembert.

“I don’t have a crush on Mari,” he said, more trying to convince himself than the kwami.

“I don’t have crush on her,” he thought, telling himself to stop thinking about her captivating eyes.

Blue was his new favorite color.

“I seriously don’t have crush on her,” he thought again, telling himself to stop thinking about how enchanting it felt to listen to her laugh.

The sound of pure joy filling his ears.

“I really really do not have crush on her,” he thought once more, telling himself to stop thinking about the way she cared about everyone, and did anything to make them content.

She’d sacrifice her well-being before one of her friends went unhappy

Adrien sighed, his mind replaying his time with the girl.

“I...I have a crush on Marinette Dupain-Cheng.”

“It’s about time!” Plagg cheered, landing on his chosen in celebration.

It was about time.

Season 1, ep3, p1

(3rd POV)

Tenzin sighed as he rushed to your room, with your family trailing behind closely. As they approached the room, he couldn't help but wonder what could've happened to you in such a short amount of time. He felt his heart stop seeing your hunched form, hurriedly putting your jacket on. In front of you was a woman with waist long black hair, and a gentle yet stormy gray, but at the moment the woman seemed to have been scolding you.

And he was right, because as they walked in together, they overheard you saying, "I gotta at least try to finish my mission, I promised--" You finish adjusting your gloves, chuckling when you felt two small arms wrap around your waist, hearing Meelo and Ikki cry your name. "(Y/N)! Are you okay?" Ikki asked, as you turned around and knelt to their height, embracing them. "Yeah guys, I'm okay." You smile, as Jinora shyly hugged your arm. Tenzin, Pema, and Lin hung back while Korra came up to you as well. You braced yourself, before standing up, grunting softly as your ribs screamed at you. Catching this, Lin asked, "What happened, (Y/N)?"

Looking at your cousins, you sighed, and carefully crossed your sore arms. "It was Amon..he ambushed me through a secret tunnel I like to hang out in. Other than getting electrocuted, kicked in the ribs, and having my arm numbed, I wasn't injured." You smiled, assuring your family. The woman behind you scoffed, making you huff, and gesture behind you. "And this woman, is Rene. She's my mother's younger but still old, sister." Rene stepped forward and held her hand out to the adults and looked wearily at you. "Actually, I'm your young aunt, you cheeky brat!" Rene cried, acting more like a child than the 35 year old she was. "Yeah, yeah. Anyways,I'm ready to go home, and see Nevermore."

Everyone laughed as your aunt continued to yell at you. "Anyways, don't think this conversation is over, nephew!" Rene kissed your cheek, and left on her Satomobile. "(Y/N), why were you going through a tunnel to get here?" You shrug, your (h/c) bangs falling in your eyes again, turning to look at your uncle. "I didn't want to be followed, restricted and it kept you guys safe." Tenzin sighed; he wasn't happy you felt the need to sneak off, but he was glad you thought about the safety of your family.

Walking outside, you laughed at Oogie headbutting you affectionately. "Hey old boy. I'm okay." You assured, waving to Mako and Bolin, and your Aunt Lin as they headed home. Settling next to Jinora and Pema, Ikki cuddled into you sighing softly, happy you were coming home. Tilting your head back, enjoying a warm breeze. 'I wonder when he'll come home.' you wondered.

*The next day*

Humming in content as you sunk into the warmed springs, you felt your body relax for the first time in forever. "It's been a while since we relaxed like this, huh, girl?" You ask Nevermore as she cooed in agreement. Closing your (e/c) eyes, you settled into a meditation position, inhaled and exhaled.

*in the spirit world*

You stood up, looking at the meadow you were standing in, and gasped softly hearing a happy voice sing. Running towards the sound, you laugh seeing Iroh, Dragon of the West, sing while pouring tea into two cups. "Hello, General Iroh." You bow, with your fist in your palm in respect to him, while he waved you off. "Come now, (Y/N), you don't have to do that. I was never one for formalities anyway. " You sat across from him, and graciously took a sip, sighing happily. "I miss having original Jasmine Dragon tea." Iroh laughed at your blissed out face.

"I'm glad you liked it. I sense you needed to talk, and talk we shall." Iroh's grey eyes sparkled with a knowing gleam. The wind blew a gentle breeze through your hair, as your (e/c) eyes had a battle with the old general. "Yes, I do."

*timeskip*

Iroh watched as you snoozed back in the green grass, listening to the spirits float past. 'That is a lot for someone so young. But you are your parents' child, (Y/N), you'll survive this.' He began humming the Ba Sing Se girls song. 10 minutes later, you woke up, and glanced at the sun. "Aw, man, I gotta go now." You pout, your hair sticking up with leaves. Chuckling, Iroh walked you back to your meadow. "You can come back later, (Y/N), you'll know where to find me." He walked off, just as you left the spirit world.

*in the real world*

You blinked, seeing plate of sweet deliciousness in front of you. Pema laughed as you got dressed and began to scarf down breakfast, Nevermore eating her side of the omelette. "When's the last time you ate before rushing off to take care of someone else?" She asked, sitting on a ice bench you conjured up, so she didn't stress her back. Shrugging, you sighed in satisfaction. "I dunno. Everyone always needs taking care of: Uncle with training Korra and the other airbenders, the city council breathing down my neck, you with the baby on the way, and training the animals, it's just a lot, and I-" "Just can't say no. I know, (Y/N), that's just who you are." Pema followed you into the kitchen and rubbed her belly. "Eh, I like being needed, Auntie. Otherwise, I'd sleep all day." You joke, before rushing off to the training grounds where you'd hoped to find some kind of excitement.

You ran up to Jinora's side, and watched as Korra practiced her airbending. "Good, light on your feet." Jinora encouraged, as you all watched the Avatar pant for breath. Neo grumbled in the direction you'd just came from, making you see the shadow of Mako heading towards you. "Ooh, he's cute." Ikki chirped. "Korra, is that the handsome firebender boy that drives you crazy?"Jinora asked, as Korra stiffened. "Does he drive you crazy in a bad way, or does he drive you crazy, like him?" "Nice to see you, too. And no, haven't seen him since practice. Think something's wrong?" "I don't know. Bolin has a knack for getting into stupid situations. See ya later." Mako sighed, before turning away.

Frowning, you pushed Korra forward. "Korra and I could help you search. I'll take the sky and you guys take the ground. Neo and Naga can help you guys. Not taking no for an answer, see you guys!" You laughed, using your glider to leave the two love birds in shock.

"Well, let's go, Avatar."

“This entire team is made of toothpicks and I love them.”

I did promise to try to get y'all into the Mets, did I not? (I have @glittering-git listening to games with me on the roof, successssss.) For your enjoyment, a recap of the first two months of the Mets 2021 season. This one has it all: drama, injuries, disappointment, scrappy underdogs and feel-good moments. I’m writing this off the top of my head so forgive the tense switching and possible mixed up chronology.

“I’m glad the Mets exist to finally answer the question of what would happen if the Ship of Theseus was a baseball team.” (-Dick Staff.)

Start of the seaso- nope, immediately postponed b/c the Nationals had c*vid. Let's try this again.

Start of the season! We begin with some good dudes. Jacob deGrom is arguably the best pitcher in MLB, we have some other young and veteran pitching talent as well, some returning guys that are fan favorites like Pete Alonso (famously reprimanded for using the hashtag LFGM for 'Lets Fucking Go Mets' but now everyone is using it haha suck it New York Post) and recent acquisition Francisco Lindor, who was a star with Cleveland, and who got a record 341 million dollar contract. (He's also realllly cute which is not something I usually say about sports guys nor is it something that matters but I thought I'd throw that out there.) Hopes are not super high, as there are teams with better offensive capability, but playoffs are an optimistic possibility.

But then the injuries started coming. Over the next two months 16 players would be put on the injured list. Noah Syndergaard (our other star pitcher, famously known as Thor for his long flowing blonde hair and amazing arm) started the season in rehab and his progress isn't great. Meanwhile Lindor struggled to get a hit. The fact he got so much money to do not much of anything pissed a lot of people off. (Personally I don't believe in booing your own players.) No one else was hitting well, either.

Pete Alonso invented a fictional hitting approach coach named Donnie "Diesel" Stevenson and appeared in disguise to hype up his teammates. Donnie t-shirts begin appearing. Meanwhile the actual hitting coaches were fired and replaced.

Everyone starts joking deGrom will have to drive in his own runs if he wants to win games (pitchers are generally not the best hitters, and don’t even bat in one of the two leagues.) Jokes on them - he CAN hit. Currently he has more hits than earned runs. That is INSANE for a pitcher.

Eventually we ended up with a lot of second-stringers called up off the bench... but eager to prove themselves, they actually ended up playing well! The "bench mob" is popular with fans. Lindor gets a hit - yay! - and also gets into a fight in the clubhouse with Jeff McNeil, probably over positioning in the outfield. No one knows exactly what happened, because even though it's pretty obvious *something* went down, he and McNeil decided to tell reporters that no, they weren't having a fight. They were disagreeing over what large animal Lindor saw in the clubhouse. Lindor says big New York rat, McNeil says raccoon, or maybe opossum. Literally no one believes them and it is HILARIOUS. They seem to have solved the tension on their own and I say good for them. Shirts and other merch with the rat-raccoon start to appear. They hug it out for the press.

“I can bring him out and probably give him a kiss on the cheek if you guys want," Lindor joked. "It’s just a rat, man. We good.”

Also 3rd string catcher Patrick Mazeika was called up and I've never seen a dorkier looking dude play ball. He got 3 RBIs before he ever recorded a hit (I can explain that if you really care, it’s very weird) and for some reason his shirt always gets torn off in the win celebrations.

But the popular second stringers started getting hurt as well! We called up guys from the minor leagues and THEY got hurt! We've lost 1st, 2nd, 3rd AND 4th string outfielders. A catcher is playing first base. The bullpen is thinning out. Just when you start to like a guy, boom! He runs into a wall or pulls a muscle and that's that.

Kevin Pillar was hit in the face with a 94 mile an hour fastball. Do NOT watch the replay if you don't want to see blood. I have never seen that much blood on a baseball field in my life.

...he showed up swollen at the field the next day and said if he could see out of his eye he'd ask to be put on the lineup. Scrappy does not begin to describe this team.

deGrom got sent down to Florida (rehab) with "tightness" and everyone held their breath - were we going to lose our biggest star? He recovered pretty fast and the Palm Beach Cardinals social media had a field day, begging the Mets to take him back as he smoked their single A team. By the time he returned to New York, he was basically backed by a minor league club anyway, with how many guys we've called up.

Alonso and McNeil were injured... Walker was injured... but every time new guys get called up they come through in clutch?! Johneshwy Fargas got to make his MLB debut at the age of 26, got his first career hit in his very first appearance, won the fans over, played 6 games, and promptly got injured. At this point there aren't a lot of guys left to call up so we traded a pitcher to the Brewers for one of their outfielders. He came in and hit a home run. Are the Mets bad luck? Are they good luck? Who knows! Alonso is already back, and Mazieka as of writing was sent back to AAA. We hardly knew him.

On Memorial Day in AZ, Pillar returned less than two weeks after surgery from that fastball to the face and got a hit in his first at-bat. Even the other team’s fans cheered.

At this point, June 1st, the Mets are 26 and 20. They are currently leading their division.

How, I do not know.

As 'A Pod of Their Own' says, “This entire team is made of toothpicks and I love them.”

So what’s next?

As fun as the Replace-Mets are to watch, what happens when all the veterans begin returning from injuries will determine how the rest of the season goes. If they come back and suck, fans will be mad the new guys were sent back down. If the new guys are kept and THEY suck, fans will be mad the vets weren’t put back in. Lot of backseat managing going on in baseball. My gut feeling is we are headed for a bit of a slump with maybe an upswing after the All-Star break (midseason.)

So do you think the Mets will go to the playoffs, Chantal?

That's... a tough question. It is only June after all, and the rest of the NL East division isn't far behind in the standings. (Lemme know if you need divisions explained.) Any surge by one of the other teams in the NL East or a collapse on the Mets part could lead to them falling behind and not recovering, and I highly doubt they would get the wild card spot since the second best teams in the other divisions are better than the Mets. If they hold their place in the division, we could indeed see October baseball, which I think would be very exciting! I also think they would get knocked out fairly quickly. I can't see the pennant or the World Series being a possibility at all. So I'm keeping my fingers crossed for division playoffs and not holding out hope for anything else, haha. (That being said, Mets fans always do keep secret wishes for A Miracle.)

Why get excited about a team you acknowledge probably won't go all the way?

Because baseball is fun! Only two months have gone by and it's already been this exciting! Each game is it's own microcosm, regardless of advancement. I personally love listening on the radio, it makes my night that much better to have Howie and Wayne on WCBS on the radio in the background as I go about whatever else I have to do. Even if you don't keep up in real time, the highlights are usually pretty WTF these days.

So with summer getting into full swing and baseball the perfect summer sport, I would welcome you all to step right up and greet the Mets. They are a fun team, there's enough spirit and luck to keep our hopes up, and enough underdog-longshot issues to keep it exciting.

(There is of course extra fun if you live close enough to catch a game, our ballpark is magical and a big red apple pops up every time they hit a home run, but I maintain that the Mets can be a team for anyone, not just New Yorkers.)

For baseball in general, River Butcher is a comedian who has (the now concluding) Three Swings Podcast and it is VERY cool to hear a non-cis person talk sports. Amazin’ Avenue is a blog dedicated to Mets updates.

Jurassic Park’s animal handlers: none of them ever mentioned by name in Michael Crichton’s original novel. Who were they? What were their lives like on Isla Nublar? Did any of them survive the disaster?

A year in the life of those responsible for the care of the dinosaurs. Many people would kill to have their jobs.

But would they die for it?

Contagious - Y&T

“Oh, hey! Look at those!” Lizzy pointed as they walked closer to the Jeeps. “Now those are smart.”

The two vehicles were painted in solid khaki-grey all over. Apart from a couple of mud splats (it was the rainy season) they were still shiny and new. Lizzy didn’t think she’d ever seen a new Jeep before in her life. As far as she was concerned they came straight out of the factory in a used state. Jeff’s was at least 30 years old, but had to be a entirely different vehicle by this point, since everything had been replaced at least once.

She had her first pang of homesickness, thinking about that wrecker, lovingly nicknamed Edith. She was full of bullet holes and you could see through her floor to the dusty earth in places but Jeff still swore she was the most reliable thing in his life. Lizzy wished she’d rang him earlier instead, as her first outgoing from Isla Nublar. He was the one that had got her there, after all, and he’d be desperate to know what she thought of Muldoon. Now she’d had time to stew, she felt terrible for blowing up at Simon. That wasn’t how her first day was meant to start. It would have been better not calling. She pushed the thought from her mind. Eh, he’s probably gotten over it already. I should do the same.

“They’re pretty neat.” Isaac confirmed. “I don’t think that Wrangler model’s available in the States yet. Custom colour too. Ugh, bet they’re manual though…”

Ahead of them Tom had caught up with Richardson and had just said something that was making him roar with laughter.

Old Boys Club. Lizzy thought to herself. Non-white, non-male need not apply. It’s always the same.

She looked back at Kathy and Isaac and jerked her head meaningfully in the other direction.

“You wanna go with Muldoon?” Kathy asked her with a raised eyebrow.

“Please!” Bollocks to Richardson, I’m not going in his Jeep.

“So you can flirt some more?” Kathy slyly added.

“What?” Lizzy turned around to grin at her. “Oh, shut up Baker!”

“You’re spoken for, missy.” Kathy caught up and prodded her ribs. “Not too friendly or he’ll get the wrong idea. C’mon Isaac-“

“I’m not flirting!” Lizzy insisted. If she was, he’d definitely know about it. But that was so inappropriate, no matter how well they got on. Besides, she was engaged, and he had a good ten years on her, at least. No danger of anything happening.

“Then what the heck was that?!” Kathy hissed from over her shoulder as they walked towards the Jeep with the number 10 on it.

“Friendly banter. I know his type.”

“Looks like you’re his type.” Kathy muttered as she and Isaac headed to the back end of the vehicle. It was pretty clear to them who would be sitting up front.

Lizzy didn’t wait for an invitation, she just opened the passenger side door and hopped in, scrambling to get onto the chair.

Muldoon was already in the driver’s seat. “You don’t want to go with Richardson?”

“No thank you. I think he’s had enough of me for today.”

“And I haven’t?”

“Oh, ha-ha. Tom and his pals are going with him anyway. Full house.”

“Listen, don’t aggravate him too much if you want the Herbivores job, all of you. That’s his side of things. I deal with the Carnivores.”

“You’re joking.” Lizzy wondered if she shouldn’t be gunning for the other team instead. “Right, guess we’ll see what happens then, but I may have already blown my chances. Oops.”

“Thank you for the heads up.” Kathy said quietly. It kind of sucked, she didn’t want to be in competition with her new friends, but she really wanted the Team Leader job.

“That’s alright. Baker, isn’t it? You’re from the Smithsonian Park? Big cats?”

Wow, well-remembered. “Yep, I’m the jaguar expert.” She said proudly.

“M-hmm. Noted.”

Lizzy turned around and gave her a thumbs up and her characteristic goofy grin. Kathy smiled back in spite of herself. I might get the Carnivores Leader job after all.

Kathy hadn’t totally made up her mind about Lizzy, she was an acquired taste. Pretty loud. Even cockier. But she had to give the girl props for choosing to sit with them at breakfast instead of muscling in with the popular kids. And it couldn’t do any harm to stay close to the only other woman in the group, especially when she already had a good rapport with one of those dishing out promotions.

Hey, she was charming and had a cute accent, even if she had absolutely no filter between her head and her mouth. Oh, and maybe she’d need help planning her wedding, that could be fun. Wonder if she’s got all her bridesmaids allocated already…I might do some muscling in of my own.

Kathy was still musing to herself, about to shut the Jeep door behind her when a hand appeared on the frame, keeping it firmly held open. She looked up and almost groaned out loud, her heart sinking.

“Other Wrangler’s full so I volunteered to come along with you guys instead. Katie, isn’t it?” Tom drawled, standing in front of her with a shit-eating grin plastered all over his face.

“It’s Kathy.” She replied flatly. You knew that, asshole.

She heard Lizzy muttering something uncomplimentary from up front, and felt Isaac slumping down in his seat. Nobody was happy about Tom joining them.

“Kathy, of course. Scooch over sweetheart.”

She couldn’t really say no, so ended up squished between Isaac and Tom, neither of whom were the smallest guys in the world. This ride suddenly got a whole lot more tense.

As they moved off Lizzy was opening the glove compartment and checking inside the doors and on the central console, chattering endlessly about how she’d never been in such a new Jeep before and ”oh, hey! Found the binoculars!”

“Do you mind?” Muldoon interrupted her stream of consciousness.

“Not at all. This is weird, it’s clean.”

“And you’ll be expected to keep it that way, as much as possible. Can you see over the dash alright?”

“Of course I can, what the-“ she stopped and sighed. “Heightist. So rude.”

“You are pret-ty small.” Tom said. “Both of you ladies are.”

Both Kathy and Lizzy opted to ignore him and instead were now taking in their surroundings. The jungle noises had swelled around them, closing them in. Richardson’s Jeep was ahead of theirs and had taken the left fork in the track. It was a surprise to all when they ended up taking the right.

“We aren’t following them?” Tom asked.

“We’re taking the interesting route.” Muldoon replied. “This time of day, we’ll see more movement.”

Lizzy was literally on the edge of her seat. She couldn’t wait to finally see the livestock, Hammond’s genetically-modified creatures.

Further down the road Muldoon stopped the Jeep, leaving the engine running and turned to Lizzy. “Your turn.”

“Sah-weet.” She unbuckled her seatbelt.

“Hey, how come she gets to drive?” Tom protested.

“If any of you three know how to drive a manual you’re welcome to take over.”

Silence from the back seats.

“Then you better learn fast. I suggest you ask Armstrong to show you or you’ll be walking around the island instead.”

Okay, that’s smart. Really smart. Maybe Tom will listen to him, make him see that he’s not above asking for help.

“Can’t be that hard…” Tom muttered.

“They all drive manuals in the UK, don’t have many automatics.” Isaac explained to fill the gap while Muldoon was out of the Jeep.

Lizzy clambered over the gearstick to the drivers side and buckled in again. She tried to find the pedals with her feet but she was pressing down on thin air. She sheepishly looked at Muldoon and rolled the seat closer, adjusting the mirrors too before putting the Jeep into gear.

“Bloody Hell, it’ll take me ages to get that right again.”

“If it was going to be a problem, they should have put a minimum height on the job description.” She fired back at him.

“You must be this tall to ride.” Said Kathy from the back. Lizzy glanced at her in the rearview mirror just to see her smirking.

“Go right here.” Muldoon instructed her.

There wasn’t a right turn to take. Lizzy slowed down and looked harder, she could just about see tyre tracks imprinted in the earth, disappearing into the grass at the side of the track.

“Off-road. Nice.” And she swung the wheel in the direction of the tracks.

Now that she was sitting in front of Tom, there was a familiar tapping that had appeared on the back of her chair, like he had done during orientation. God, he is so annoying. She had to say something or she was going to burst.

“Tom?”

“Yeah, honey?”

“Can you stop kicking my seat…please? I need to concentrate and you’re distracting me.”

“Sure, just a habit I have. All you had to do was ask.”

Not even an apology, payback for her getting to drive first.

Muldoon apparently felt the need to defuse the tension: “When will you be leaving us short-staffed for the wedding?” He asked Lizzy, a touch resentfully, Kathy thought. Maybe she was imagining it. They’d literally just met, not even an hour ago. How could he be put out by something like that?

“What wedding?” Lizzy was lost. What in the Hell was he on about? Was someone back in Africa getting married?

There was a soft smack as Kathy quietly slapped her own forehead. “He means your wedding!”

“Oh!” Lizzy snorted. “Right, my wedding. We don’t have a date yet.”

“How long have you been engaged, Lizzy?” Kathy piped up.

“Five years in December.”

“No way! I’d have nailed that sucker down long ago! What’s the hold up?”

“Just-“ Lizzy stared forwards out of the windscreen. “-I don’t know if I want to get married in New York.”

“Oh, but New York’s great whatever season you choose! You could have the Plaza hotel, the library-“ Kathy gasped. “Oh my God, Lizzy! The Museum of Natural History does weddings! That’s perfect for you!”

“Yeah, we’ve looked at all of them…” Lizzy murmured, seeming thoroughly disinterested. She was thinking about their argument that morning. They’d yelled at each other. They never yelled before, no matter how hopping mad she got.

Muldoon glanced sideways at her. Her bottom lip was sticking out and she looked fed up. He had a pretty good measure of her already. Sounded to him it wasn’t that she couldn’t decide where to have the wedding, it was more like she didn’t want to get married at all.

“Will Simon come and visit you here?” Kathy wasn’t done.

“I hope so.”

“You could have the wedding on the island? I’ll be your bridesmaid?” Kathy said hopefully.

“We’ll see.” Lizzy gave her a tight smile in the mirror.

Muldoon picked up the radio off the dash. “Arnold?”

“…receiving?” Lizzy heard the familiar voice of the cigarette man.

“Any signs of life?”

“…keep going where you’re going. They’re close.”

Everyone started craning their necks, looking around for the mysterious animals. There was silence for a few minutes while they continued their journey, emerging out into a large open field with a few clusters of trees. They must be at a low point of the island. They appeared to be in a valley, with green slopes rising up around them.

It was beautiful. Would have been beautiful, if not for the pain in the ass who was once again pummelling the back of her seat with his boots.

“Right, that does it!” Lizzy hit the brakes and spun around. “Stop kicking my seat this instant or I’ll deck you, ya cun-“ She froze. The look on Tom’s face was pure deer-in-headlights. She’d only seen it once before, when a student had fallen behind and ended up coming face-to-face with a water buffalo. Do. Not. Move. She’d warned. Move and you’re dead.

“Tom? What is it? What’s wrong?” She whispered. “Can I turn around?” Kathy and Isaac had the exact same expression. Eyes like dinner plates.

“Uh…yeah. Yeah, I guess so. What is that?” Tom sounded awestruck.

“It’s alright, some of our livestock has made themselves known. And watch your language, Armstrong.” Muldoon told her off as she shifted forward slowly. “I’m afraid I’ll have to take Kennedy’s side if you give him a black eye.”

“I didn’t actually say anything ba- Fucking hell!”

“Christ, why did I bother?” Muldoon said, mostly to himself.

Lizzy got a shock when she faced forward again. She thought that she had accidentally slammed the brakes on dangerously close to a tree trunk. But she could have sworn it wasn’t there before she’d laid into Tom.

Then the tree trunk moved.

Elephant! That was her first instinct. But the silhouette was all wrong. Too long. Too close to the ground.

No, not an elephant.

That was, unless she was very much mistaken…

What she was looking at didn’t fit any modern classification of an animal.

What have you done Hammond?

“Everything alright?” Muldoon asked casually, seemingly very pleased she’d been rendered mute.

Lizzy’s mouth slowly dropped open. “Yeah, sure, fine. That’s a dinosaur?” She felt like her soul had just ascended out of her body. It sounded ridiculous to even think it, let alone say it.

“Well spotted.”

How the Hell can he be so calm about this!

Kathy was Hail Marying from the back seat while Isaac was quietly murmuring shit every few seconds.

Tom meanwhile was silent, he and Lizzy exchanged looks in the rearview mirror, their battle over the seat forgotten. They were both on even footing of what in God’s name is happening on this island?, a moment of solidarity in their shared confusion before it was game on once again.

Lizzy just started giggling. She didn’t know what else to do. “Well, I honestly never would have guessed that. Fair play, Hammond. Amazing.”

“They’re not bad. This one is a hadrosaur.”

“Hadrosaur.” Lizzy repeated, sounding it out. It looked and moved just like a massive, grey cow. Reptilian, but obviously warm-blooded.

“That’s real? As in really real? Not an animatronic?” Kathy was doubtful.

“Looks pretty real to me. Why would they need animal handlers for robots?” Isaac said as they all watched the hadrosaur bend its neck and chew slowly on some vegetation.

“Authenticity or something. I dunno, man…like at DisneyWorld…” Kathy muttered back. “They do bits.”

“Get closer.” Muldoon released the handbrake for Lizzy and they slowly rolled closer.

“It’s safe, right? That’s a big animal.” Tom was wary.

“I’d tell her if it wasn’t. They aren’t bothered by the Jeeps.” He responded, a bit tersely.

Lizzy crept the Wrangler forward, engine purring. Sure enough, the hadrosaur paid no heed. They were so close she could see the pattern of scales on its dry skin, see its ribcage moving and nostrils flaring as it breathed. Definitely real.

“Amazing.” She said again. “Seems a shame they’re going to let people in here, but I guess they have to make a profit somehow.”

The scientist in her was wistful. These animals should be studied first. How accurate were they compared to the fossil record? Herd behaviour, did they exhibit dominance hierarchies? Her brain was ticking over. Maybe I’m not going to be known for my work with elephants after all…

She tapped her fingers on the steering wheel as they trundled along. “This is a herbivore, you also have carnivores.”

“Right.” Muldoon confirmed, not giving anything away.

Lizzy sighed and pressed the matter. “So what carnivores do you have?”

“You know what a tyrannosaur is?”

She did indeed. She’d seen the skeleton at the Natural History museum, the display label swam into view in her mind. Tyrannosaurus rex, tyrant lizard.

Lizzy exhaled quickly, shaking her head.

“Shut the f-“

Star Wars shows

So I've been doing a lot of thinking about the new shows for Star Wars, mainly the Mandalorian spin-offs, and what plots we could potentially see, so this is just me speculating for the fun of it, and I wanted to see what you guys think.

Also, I don't know how true this is, but I've seen rumors about a crossover event for the shows, and I'm gonna talk about that too

The book of Boba Fett.

I'm starting with this one because I truly don't know what could happen here. I mean, it's probably Boba seeking comeuppance for whatever happened to him after he was left for dead in Tatooine, or maybe he just wants to rule the criminal underworld, and Jabba's palace was the first step for that. Anyhow, I have this weird feeling that this might be an special or movie, rather than a fully fleshed out series, and since it most likely will air before The Mandalorian s3 premier, it might just tell us more about how things are going on with the galaxy

So I believe that this next season is going to be focused on two different plotlines, that at one point, probably the middle or end of season, are going to connect somehow.

Mandalore and the Darksaber

As we know, Din Djarin accidentally ended up with the Darksaber, and therefore the right to claim the throne of Mandalore, which we know he doesn't want. But I don't think they just put this seed for a very interesting plot in the finale, just for Din to give it up in the first episode of the 3rd season, so that means we are going to have Bo-Katan as an antagonist, at least at the beginning of the season.

Of course I have nothing to back it up, but maybe the first chapters are going to be Din being chased by Bo-Katan and simultaneously being like "for god's sake, just take it and leave me alone", until something most likely related to Grogu more on that later will make him change his mind and actively go after Mandalore's throne, which would turn Bo fully into the antagonist for the season.

Either that, or Din and Bo feign a battle in front of other mandalorians so Bo would be left as the only contender to the throne, and the rest of the season is political games and scoring wins against the remains of the Empire, which would also be amazing to see.

Jedi Shenanigans

I don't think this is the last we will see of Grogu. Either early on the season something will make Luke leave Grogu back with Din again, or we are actually going to see some of the Jedi training.

(If we are going to see Luke again, it would be easier to just call Sebastian Stan, instead of the cgi thing. He more or less already has Mark Hamill's blessing anyway)

Again, this is just speculating, but what I would like to see in this plot of mine, is to see Luke or whatever Jedi community he has formed somehow getting involved in some conflict that would put Grogu in potential danger, and so, Din would realize that the only way to influence the conflict to end and help keep Grogu safe would be to take Mandalore's throne, or maybe Bo-Katan is pouring gasoline to the fire of this conflict, and so, Din must remove her from the throne.

My point is, the only way to keep Grogu safe will be by taking Mandalore's throne, and we know there's nothing Din wouldn't do for his son.

Ahsoka

In "The Jedi" episode of the Mandalorian, we learned that Ahsoka is looking for Admiral Thrawn, and therefore remainers of the empire, which is most likely what this show is going to be about. It is a great opportunity to bring more characters from the animated shows to live action, now that we know it can work, like Ezra, or maybe even Cal Kestis from the video game if they want to go there. The plot also has potential for Luke to show up here too.

Regardless of what other characters might appear here. I believe this show is going to follow up, one way or another, the clone with high M-count plot that was introduced in season 2, that we know ties in with the sequel trilogy. It would make sense, since the return of Palpatine would be less that desirable for Ahsoka, and I imagine Thrawn would be involved with this specific order.

Of course, assigning this plot to Ahsoka is her getting the short end of the stick, because we know the Empire/First Order will win this one and bring Palpatine back eventually. But then again, Ahsoka has to die before Episode IX, since we hear her voice alongside other force ghosts.

Rangers of the New Republic

This one is probably going to feature Cara Dune a lot, if she's not one of the protagonists to begin with.

It is here that I believe we are going to see what other things Moff Gideon has up on his sleeve. I can see Cara turning this guy in with the Republic, and them being like "cool!!! Do you want to maybe join this group of rangers to keep messing around with the Empire?" And Cara would be like "I guess?".

This one might cover the plans the Empire have in general, explain the orders the Emperor left in case of his death, ala whatever that was happening in the Aftermath books, since that was never brought up in the sequels, and tie in with Ahsoka.

Crossover event

Again, I just saw the rumor and I thought it was dope, I don't know if this is true, and even if it is, it would most likely happen after a couple of seasons for each of the new shows.

Of course, I'm basing this on just the potential general plots I just described to you, but if there was something that could tie in this plots and characters, it would be something like the Battle of Jakku.

I'm not saying it would be The battle of Jakku specifically, because it supposedly happened a couple of years before The Mandalorian's first season but I mean something of the style. Or it can be Jakku, just do a little retcon, it's not like it was mentioned at all on the sequels, just on the visual guides.

But, like, the only thing that the protagonists of these shows (Din, Ahsoka, Cara/Rangers) have in common is their desire to put an end to the Empire, even if it's for different reasons.

Kuiil said in the first season that things would not change until the old ways die, but sadly we know that lowkey never happens, since the First Order eventually rises, which puts these characters in a tight position and probably in the losing team.

However, I believe at this point all of them have proved to be great fighters, and they would put one hell of a last stand against the Empire. And to be honest, this story line that started in The Mandalorian is building up, and it only will continue to do so with two, maybe three other shows, regardless of what plots they decide to follow. It will get to a point where the only outcome possible is a big, all-out battle, which brings me to the last point I've been thinking about.

If a battle is to come, and I believe it will, it's going to be big. Like, define the future of the galaxy big. Of course, there is not much room for creativity with the sequels ahead, but this battle, if the good guys win, can push the Empire/First Order to hide even more, and be the reason why they don't come out publicly until the climax of The Force Awakens.

Listen, season 2 finale showed that they are not afraid to bring big players to these shows, and with a battle like that so important, it would make sense that they would bring Luke again, and if Luke keeps popping up, I don't see why Leia and Han can't.

I mean, they already have the guy from the Solo movie, just age him up a little and he's good to go. For Leia, they could go on talent hunting and find someone who is reminiscent of Leia, the way Sebastian and Alden do respectively to these characters. Also, a Lando show is on the making as well, and while we don't know who will portray the character, if it's Donald Glover, you can add him to the mix as well.

Okay, before you say it, I know this is not like things are going to go, it's just the things and plots I would love to see. I know Dave Filoni and Jon Favreau already have the way this is going to go, and I completely trust them with it. It's just so easy to get lost in these stories, both seasons of The Mandalorian gave me such a good thing to look forward at times I really needed to and to see this storyline expanded to more shows really excited me. I can't wait to see what they have in store for us c:

Spoilers for Manga and Season four Part two. I repeat, MAJOR Spoilers for the manga and anime, if you aren't caught up in the manga, specifically, chapter 138, then don't read this!

3rd POV,

Walking outside the mansion she glanced up at the dark sky, stars lit the place, it looked lovely. It was the same sky she saw back home. Going across the field she felt her coat get tugged, looking down she saw the little boy. The same boy from the market, Ramzi was his name. Smiling down at him the boy grabbed her hand and led her to his home. Speaking to her even though she didn't understand his tongue.

Y/n came to face many tents, lit up with lanterns, this was the boy's home. Ramzi let go of the older woman's hand and ran over to his grandfather. Giving him a hug, the two smiling. Y/n's weak smile grew genuine at the tender moment, the makeshift tents felt more like home than the mansion Kiyomi offered the scouts to stay.

Her throat went dry, knowing that it was coming she faced away from the tents and coughed into her elbow. Her cough was rougher than usual, her throat burning as she coughed. After almost a minute she pulled away and softened her eyes. The burgundy rose petals littered her coat sleeve, a bit of blood on the petals. Sighing she wiped them off and kicked dirt over the bloody petals. No one needed to know about her condition.

They knew Y/n had been acting differently but they all presumed it was because she was tired. Tired of fighting. Her eyes weren't the same bright e/c eyes she had back in 850, they were dull now. She would hardly smile truthfully, not even when they tried ice cream.

Feeling another tug on her sleeve she saw Ramzi, he offered her a cup of something. It wasn't technically a cup but rather a can. Ramzi and his grandfather saw her coughing, worried, his grandfather sent him to give Y/n a drink. He asked if she was alright. She didn't understand of course but figured what he was saying from his worried face. Reaching down to the cup she grabbed it and thanked the boy, bowing her head a little so he would understand. Raising the cup she smelt the drink, it was booze. Scoffing under her breath she took a swing, the liquid burning her throat even more. She didn't mind, it'll make her forget.

Exhaling after taking a gulp she heard footsteps approach her. Turning around she faced her. Feeling her face warm-up she sent her eyes away from Mikasa. The black-haired girl came up to her and smiled, that was until she saw the drink in her hand. Recognizing it as alcohol from the familiar smell of it. This wasn't Y/n's first time drinking, out of the whole squad she was the one that drank the most. Mikasa never understood why she drowned herself in it.

"If you're going to t-tell me that I shouldn't be drinking, please don't. The boy from the market offered it to me." Y/n stuttered, feeling warm in her cheeks. Her throat was beginning to burn again, she knew she couldn't cough up in front of Mikasa. She couldn't know about the disease Y/n had. Swallowing down a huff escaped her. Mikasa frowned. "I'm not, I'm here because I was wondering if you've seen Eren. He wasn't in Ms. Kiyomi's mansion just like you." Mikasa said, placing one of her hands on Y/n's shoulder. The girl got warmer, even after Mikasa mentioning Eren's name.

"I haven't seen him, do you...Do you want to stay here with me? You have a good view of some constellations here. I can show you them." Y/n asked, pointing up at the sky. She learned quite a bit of constellations over the few years, Marley had a lot. The most popular being the constellation of Helos. Mikasa gazed up at the stars, she gave it a thought but shook her head. "Sorry I can't, I have to find Eren. Maybe later." Patting her shoulder Mikasa walked away, going out to find Eren. Leaving behind Y/n.

She watched Mikasa go, her heat in her cheeks disappearing. Then she began to cough violently, thankfully Mikasa was out of hearing range. Covering her mouth with her hand flowers escaped blood spattering onto her palm. Knowing she was going to gain people's attention she stumbled away. Till she got out of range of hearing, she fell to her knees. She couldn't handle it anymore. She knew Mikasa didn't love her back, she knew that Mikasa never will. No matter how much she tried she couldn't forget these feelings she has for Mikasa. The unconditional love she had for her. This love would be the death of her.

Y/n knew of the surgery, it could save her life. But it was pricey and it was rare to find a doctor who could perform it. Besides...Y/n will rather die than forget the love she has for Mikasa. To never feel love again was a nightmare. How could someone live in this world without loving someone? Coughing up petals she couldn't breathe, it was suffocating her. Grabbing the can of booze she brought it up to her lips and drank what was in it. Gasping she finally got her breath again. Breathing heavily she saw all of the bloody burgundies rose petals in front of her. Picking up each one of them she went to find a place to throw them, including a place to wash her bloody hands. She came back to the tents but made sure to stay out of the light.

She wasn't sure when her feelings for Mikasa started, she thinks that they were just...always there and grew more as the years went by. Y/n always looked up to Mikasa, she wasn't the most skillful soldier, heck she didn't graduate in the top ten. Y/n was confident in herself though, hoping to be as strong as the girl worth a hundred soldiers someday. Her optimism helped others out, trying to lift others. She wondered where that girl was now. She could hardly make herself happy anymore. The only thing keeping her going was Mikasa.

Strong, talented, smart, beautiful, and many more things. Mikasa meant everything to Y/n. The h/c girl can't imagine what she'll do if Mikasa left...

"Mikasa why is it...that you care so much about me?"

Recognizing the voice of Eren saying Mikasa's voice the girl stopped in her tracks. Looking over in the direction she heard his voice she saw him standing next to Mikasa. Looks like she was able to find him. Y/n bit the inside of her cheek. She can't deny it, she was jealous of him. He had all of Mikasa's attention, she cared for him, she loved him. He made her happy...Shouldn't that make Y/n happy as well?

"Is it because I saved you when you were a kid? Or is it...because I'm family?"

She knew it was wrong to listen in to their conversation but to able to hear Mikasa's voice. The voice of hers that was filled with love and care, brought warmth to Y/n. Even if it wasn't directed to her. She heard Mikasa mumble over her words, not understanding what Eren was saying.

"What am I to you?"

Eren asked her, Y/n saw that he was facing Mikasa, though Y/n wasn't able to see the look on his face. She expected Mikasa to dodge the question and call Eren family like she always did. Coughing lightly Y/n was about to walk away till she froze completely. Shocked at what she heard from Mikasa.

"I love you, Eren. You're someone that I love and always have, that's what you are to me. I'll go wherever you go, not because you're family...but because I love you.

Facing the two from where she stood she stayed still. Her eyes widened. Eren reached down his hand and grabbed a hold of Mikasa's right hand. He must've said something but Y/n wasn't able to hear. Mikasa said something as well, must've shocked Eren since he went stiff. The next thing she saw was Eren and Mikasa running away hand in hand. Y/n wrinkled her forehead, her hold on her can cup and petals loosened and she let go of them. Reaching out her hand in the direction they ran she felt her eyes beginning to burn. "Wait...Mikasa." They continued to run not hearing Y/n's quiet call, soon disappearing out of her sight.

Y/n hoped they didn't leave, that they were going to come back. That Mikasa was going to come back to her. Falling to her knees it felt like she was suffocating again. Sobbing she cupped her ears, denying what she just saw. "She didn't leave. She didn't leave. She didn't leave. She didn't leave." She repeated softly to herself. Not even realizing that Ramzi caught eye on her. His gibberish went unnoticed, worried like before he saw her friends coming from where Kiyomi's mansion was. Waving out an arm he caught their attention, pointing at Y/n.

The group of young adults gasped when seeing her and went to her aid. Sasha and Connie squatting down next to her and asking what was wrong. Jean raised his brow at what she was saying but went to help her up. Armin was about to help until his eyes landed on the can, petals lingered around, trotting over to it he inhaled sharply. He saw the blood. Picking up one of them he went to Y/n. Jean had an arm wrapped around her as Connie helped him, the girl they were aiding had stooped repeating those words.

"Y/n..." Armin called, the girl opened her eyes a little and looked at the blonde-haired boy. He showed her the blood petal, "Is this...For how long have you had Hanahaki Disease?" He asked, his voice is filled with worry. Armin's question shocked everyone. All of them going to look at Y/n, she didn't say anything, tears rolling down her chin. Her lips trembled, finally gasping out an answer.

"Since the moment I laid eyes on Mikasa..."

I was watching Furuba the Final with someone else this one time, so we started on s3. I still owe all the eps. of s2, though.

Between Wave!! and Sk8, winter 2021 was a very good season for board sports anime.

LOL, Nalu is still on his ukulele after all this time. Also, Masaki hasn’t dressed up his computer and Zoom looks very simple…(LOL?)

Apparently Japan and Hawaii are 19 hours apart, so while it may seem to be night for both, Masaki is almost a day ahead of Nalu.

Ohmigosh, Kosuke is so strait-laced, he’s a real anime villain! (Haha…)

“Surfing yappe!” really is a context-dependent sentence, huh? (noting what Masaki was saying from the mouth flaps)

If there’s one thing I’ve learnt from creative writing classes, it’s that exaggerating a character does not necessarily make it good. (I once had a character with an exaggerated accent who stood out in every scene he was in…Needless to say, I’ve scaled back on that stuff significantly since then.)

…goddang it, whenever anyone says “beef or chicken?” now, I think of that one swindler dad *points accusative finger at HypMic’s Rei*

…I’m still wondering: is Sho actually dead? You couldn’t tell from the previous episodes.

According to the rules of Pokemon and the like, power moves like Power Break are best used by muscular guys like Joe.

To be honest, the reason I fell away from anime for a bit is because I was feeling like Langa in this episode. I guess I should applaud people who can keep up with long runners like Pokemon consistently on a weekly basis.

…and that’s done! That was great, although (for reasons unrelated to this anime – in fact, I drifted away from anime for a bit...for more details on that, see episode 9's notes) I know I really lost myself at one point. That’s why I’m really thankful to Sk8 for getting me out of that funk.

Horimiya 2

I watched KareKano today (March 25th 2021) and I think Horimiya is very much following in that anime’s legacy. The double-sidedness of Yukino reminds me of Miyamura, to be precise. That’s why I’m back, after abandoning this anime for so long.

Man, since I was away since week 1, this is like watching the anime fresh for the first time again…

So I got bored and decided to type out a list of the cartoons/tv shows I’ve watched, cause why not! I think this is all I’ve watched, or at least recent enough (I’m thinking like…. 2014/15 onward, when I actively started to watch more cartoons)

It’s kinda long, and I’m kinda rambley, so I’ll put it under a keep reading thing (if I can) so you don’t have to scroll through that if you don’t want to. Idk who will actually read this, but hey maybe it’s an idea of what kind of things I might reblog on here! I’m always taking any suggestions for shows to watch, I love learning about and watching more and more cartoons! So if there’s something I didn’t list as something I watched and you think of be interested, feel free to please recommend it! I may update this with a reblog or an edit or something at some point in the future, idk though. For now, its September 19, 2020, and here’s what I got for ya

This ended up way more rambley than I meant for it to be but I started writing it at maybe 12:30ish am and now its almost 2am when I’m getting ready to post it so oops 👀 I’m not really expecting anyone to read this but hey, it’s something! Star vs The Forces of Evil - watched the first 2 seasons as they aired, then stopped watching for a while and rewatched the whole show in June 2019

The Owl House - started watching it after the grom episode aired, idk why I waited so long to watch it but molly and noelle and everyone was screaming about grom on twitter, so of course I had to watch it then

Kipo and The Age of Wonderbeasts - watched it all in early August, right before I watched The Owl House

Infinity Train - watched the pilot back in 2016, then the first season when it came out, but then I started college and didn’t get the chance to watch the 2nd/3rd season until I decided to watch the whole series (s1 again, 2/3 for the first time) this past week

Ouran High School Host Club - ok I know it’s anime not a cartoon and I can’t see myself reblogging anything from it but it’s literally the only anime I’ve watched more than like 1 or 2 episodes of/the only one I’ve seen in its entirety so I figured eh I’ll mention it

Camp Camp - I almost forgot to mention this one! I started watching it when there was I think only 3 episodes of season 1, so back in 2016, and I’ve loved it since then! I guess this summer’s season couldn’t happen cause of covid.... But I’m still excited for when/if it does eventually come out!

Shows that I’ve partially watched but not completely:

We Bare Bears - I’ve seen the first 2 seasons, maybe some of the third I can’t remember, I watched it when it first came out but I haven’t watched it in a while, so I would probably need to rewatch a bunch of it (I did rewatch I think the first season sometime this year? But it was while working on school projects so I wasn’t giving it my full attention), apparently there’s also a movie now???

My Little Pony Friendship is Magic - I was huge into the brony fandom from roughly 2013ish-2017ish, I’ve seen up to season 8 and a few episodes of season 9, and the 4 equestria girls movies, and the mlp movie; I probably know seasons 1 - 4 the most, maybe a little of 5, 6 and 7 are kinda fuzzy but I’ve seen them, 8 I watched over quarantine (since it’d been a few years since I had watched any of it, I also rewatched bits of 5-7) as well as I think the first episode or so of season 9, but I don’t remember them too well. I watched the movie (the pony one, not eqg) when it came out in theaters, and not too long after that I drifted away from the mlp fandom (tbh I was drifting a little bit before it came out, but I knew I had to stick in there at least until it came out since I had been waiting for so long for it). The equestria girls movies, I saw them all when they first came out (I even saw rainbow rocks in the theater). I think there’s like, half hour shorts or episodes or something?? That’s in the eqg universe?? But I don’t think I’ve seen any of them, and if I have it was probably a really early one a long time ago because I haven’t really kept up with anything after Legend of Everfree came out

Animaniacs reboot - I’ve seen the first 5 episodes and it’s nice!

Shows that I’ve only seen an episode or few of that I (probably) intend on continuing to watch:

Glitch Techs - I saw the first episode! Definitely want to continue it

Rick and Morty - I watched a few episodes of the first season in like March/April quarantine, but I was still dealing with online school at home finishing out last semester then. I think I want to watch this eventually, but I have other shows that I want to catch up on/watch before I’d get to this one

Tangled the Series - idk if that’s the name I’ve seen multiple names but I hope you know what I’m talking about, I saw a handful of episodes from the first season I think sometime around fall 2019, but I’d probably have to rewatch the whole thing

Adventure Time - I’ve never had cable/cartoon network so I didn’t watch this growing up, but I’ve heard really good things about it and seen a bunch of stuff from it (I’d have to be living under a rock to have not seen anything lol) but it’s so long and I just haven’t gotten around to it yet! Well I’ve seen maybe a dozen or so episodes of the first season but it was a while ago so I’d have/want to start over probably

Amphibia - I’ve heard it’s good! I just haven’t gotten around to it yet

Avatar the Last Airbender - probably next on my list to watch, I’ve been meaning to watch it for years but I haven’t yet, its on Netflix now so that should make it easier to watch and a friend from school made me promise that this would be the next one I’d watch so that’s what I’m doing (I did watch the last 2 seasons of infinity train that night though, since I was really wanting to finish it first… But atla is next) watched it! (updated 12/2/20)

The Legend of Korra - obviously I’m waiting to watch it until after alta, and I’m probably going to watch it right after I finish atla

The Dragon Prince - idk really anything about it other than I think it’s on netflix? and apparently it’s good and maybe gay idk but I’ve heard it’s good thus why it’s on here lol

Black Horseman - idk too too much about this other than apparently it’s good but also kinda depressing. Similarly to rick and morty I want to watch it eventually but its not insanely high on my list

OK KO - don’t know a ton about it other than it’s decent, a step up from r+m/bojack on where I want to watch it but not urgently

Ducktales Reboot - similarly to OK KO, don’t know much about it other than it’s decent, same level of want to watch

Milo Murphy’s Law - saw a couple episodes when it came out, haven’t watched it in forever so if I ever do want to rewatch it I’d have to restart it, not super high on my priority list though

Bee and Puppycat - another one I almost forgot! I don’t know a ton about this but I’ve heard its nice! Plus from what I’ve seen I like the artstyle so 👀 maybe someday

Animaniacs (original) - I started to watch the reboot and I think I want to watch the original eventually! Just haven’t gotten around to it yet

Clone High - listen it’s not that I desperately WANT to watch this, I just have friends who are like, hey, watch this lol it’s apparently not super long so why not

Other non cartoon shows I’ve watched:

Brooklyn 99 - idk when I started watching it, maybe around season 4/5ish? I think sometime in 2018 so idk the season, idk, most of the episodes I’ve only seen once so I couldn’t tell you exactly what happens in every episode but I still like it

Rise - ugh I miss this show, I started watching it after/around when the 3rd episode came out (end of March 2018?), and I don’t think I’ve watched any of it since it ended (mid may 2018) cause its not on any streaming services anymore :/ at least not that I know of but I loved it and would love to rewatch it

Andi Mack - I’d heard it was good but hadn’t watched it after it ended (early august 2019 I think I watched it), haven’t rewatched it since then but it was decent, I mainly watched it cause I had seen clips of gay but yknow it was alright

Sex Education - watched 1st season sometime in 2019, when rewatched it/watched season 2 when it came out January 2020, this is like WAY more mature than like anything on this list but like it has an interesting story

Love Victor - watched first/currently only season when it came out mid june 2017 (how was June so long ago what)

Queer Eye - I’ve seen a couple seasons of it idk I figured why not add it lol

Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist - I think I watched this around when there were maybe a few episodes of season 1 left (well there’s only one season now but still), idk I liked it cause like musicals and stuff idk
