oh, hey, while i'm talking about Lunter, here's something that i just realized on one of my several rewatches of Thanks to Them that keeps me up at night:

For their Halloween costumes, Luz is dressed as Azura from the Good Witch Azura series, and for Hunter, he's dressed as Chief Engineer O'Bailey from the Cosmic Frontier series.

(It's also super cute that they both based their costumes off of characters from book series' that they like, I just realized that they have that in common.)

But onto my main point:

Earlier in the episode, they present Hunter as intending on going out into the average, everyday human world dressed in that costume, because after reading Cosmic Frontier, it's basically the only concept of "human male fashion" that he knows. Of course it's neither up-to-date nor remotely realistic, but they emphasize that this is what Hunter considers a good human disguise.

So. When you take that into consideration.

Luz and Hunter's Halloween costumes.

ARE A WITCH AND A HUMAN.

I swear to GOD if this show never intended on Luz and Hunter ever being romantically involved then WHY do they keep paralleling Caleb and Evelyn. Like it's so soulmates/destiny/reincarnated lovers that I cannot STAND IT anymore. 😭😭

And it especially gets me too that during the Haunted Hayride, we're constantly given Luz and Hunter's reactions to the story of the Brothers Wittebane.

While yeah, sure, I know they're the only ones who actually know anything about the story and has any sort of importance to them at the time, but when they keep showing us Luz and Hunter between the reveal of Evelyn and how she "enticed" Caleb into joining her in the Boiling Isles? And with a depiction of Flapjack no less?? When Luz was the one who brought Flapjack and Hunter together in Hunting Palismen???

Like, view these two's relationship however you want, you're totally valid. But goddammit there is subtext here and it is driving me insane.

did you know that water plays an important role for paranormal activity and is a conductor of electricity?? Which makes it easier for spirits to hang around thanks to all the energy!

sooo let’s apply that to water breathing cause i’m weird and my brain thinks of the most random things.

I’d imagine the better you’re at the breathing style, the more you are spiritually focused and open. So like giyuu can see and feel things people normally wouldn’t.

he’s also a walking EMF reader, mf can sense the energy like crazy

i’d thought i’d be like silly yet sad but he can see all the deceased relatives and friends of the Hashira and basically anyone he’s around.

what made him so sad it’s that the sheer amount of children that cling to sanemi and gyomei, he would bring it up but he thinks that’s a very touchy subject.

it’s very useful for like finding out about the demon’s abilities or what it looks like during missions, he can just sort of talk to the already dead victims for some information

it also helps him a bit, seeing his old friends and family, it’s nice seeing them every once and a while, also weird- shocking

i guess that’s why his eyes are such a bright yet dark blue, water color fr

another thing is that the hashiras parents sorta ask him to keep the others safe or to check up on them, which he does in his own way (completely face the other way from them but he’s trying y’all)

but this ability is also pretty fucking scary, you can imagine what hellish things he’s seen, like demons (spirt form) and other malevolent spirits. it’s not a fun thing. so he kinda has a lot of sage and spices and salts, along with some other crystals and stuffs. of course he prays sometimes, makes him feel safer.

he grows bamboo around his home cause a few tree species do have some history with ghosts and he ain’t about that‼️‼️ (oak, banyan idk any others)

considering he’s the water hashira, i’d guess you’d imagine how much water he’s surrounded by… so that makes the water estate haunted. he lives with dead mfs, but they are cool with him, he’s chill with em (sabito’s bitch ass is one of them)

giyuu of course was curious about like tarot cards all that kind of stuff, and he’s pretty damn good at it. he’s also kind of a psychic, a small bit

soooo yeah, medium/psychic giyuu supremacy‼️⁉️

random late night thought but i wish people watching the pjo show would like.. stop comparing to the book. like. idk. adaptations are tricky and it's okay if the series emphasizes different parts of the story or changes things to make it work better as a tv show. it's not the end of the world if something's slightly different as long as it fits in its own context and makes sense inside of the series. idk, just judge it on its own merits ig.

Anyway to cap off my Rachel Amber thoughts for the night I have the headcanon that part of what made Rachel into Rachel Amber TM was the fact that Rachel is naturally flirty as part of her personality though not actually all that sexual as a person. But because she’s also beautiful and charismatic that led to most people sexualizing her from a young age which, because Rachel is also smart as hell with a manipulative streak, she used it to her advantage. which older men took advantage of because even a smart teenager is still a teenager.

An actually emotionally healthy Rachel to me would act much more like comic Rachel- she might flirt for fun but she’s not trying to use that in anyway. She’s not dating a bunch of people or anything because she only emotionally connects with a few people.

okay so i have shit joints and my hips have been really bothering me lately like it has hurt to walk for the past 2 days and this isnt the first time this has happened. sometimes my joints just decide that they arnt gonna go back the way they should and so im considering getting a cane or smthn to alleviate some pressure on my joints but like idk. i feel like i shouldnt need it. like its mostly a manageable amount of pain so idk if i should bother cause i dont need it all the time. idk man
