(cw talking about today in the tags, and while this year was Better, i do describe past xmases broadly. so Family Shit + mentions of heavy drinking.)

Missing Lego bricks
{You come home to Spencer losing his mind over Lego pieces}
⋆⁺₊⋆ ☾⋆⁺₊⋆ ⋆⁺₊⋆ ☾⋆⁺₊⋆ ⋆⁺₊⋆ ☾⋆⁺₊⋆ ⋆⁺₊⋆ ☾⋆⁺₊⋆ ⋆⁺₊⋆ ☾⋆⁺₊⋆
Spencer, for the most part, is a level-headed person that’s what he likes to think at least. But right now at this moment, he thinks he might just go insane. He’s looked everywhere, in every nook and cranny of his living room and he’s starting to regret all of the books he leaves haphazardly around.
You had got him the typewriter Lego set for his birthday, and he was completely over the moon. In fact, he had even cried a little at the heartfelt gift, it was the first time in a while where his birthday didn’t feel like such a dreadful experience.
He remembers it so very fondly. How your eyes glistened with excitement as you watch him unwrap the present, the way your eyes crinkled with joy. He had rambled off about the history of typewriters to you a couple of times and in all honesty, it warmed his heart to know that you actually listen to him.
“Baby? I’m home” you call out hanging your coat on the hanger as walk further into his apartment. He would have greeted you and helped you with your coat and bags whilst sneaking in a shy kiss or two, but he was completely and utterly hung up on this lost Lego piece, he’s starting to think it might’ve just simply disappeared.
You smile, standing in the archway, he pushes his glasses up the bridge of his nose before threading his fingers through his hair, his eyes scanning over the floor.
“You lost something?” You ask, and he perks up with surprise as if he didn’t even hear you come in.
He's quick to grab the instruction manual off the floor before jogging over to you, tripping over the stack of books that sit beside the coffee table. “This one- I’ve looked everywhere baby and I can’t find it, it’s just gone,” he tells you, pointing to the rouge piece of Lego.
You look over to the half-built typewriter noticing the way he had separated the different parts into small piles.
“Well it’s gotta be around here somewhere,” you tell him and he sighs, looking at you with disbelief.
Spencer is adamant as he shakes his head, “It’s not- it’s just poof, gone” he explains, his hands gesturing in every which way as he tries to get his point across. And you can’t stop the little giggle that slips from your lips, he looks like he’s going to lose it.
“Don’t laugh- this is a serious problem” he tells you watching as you cover your mouth with your hand, trying to stifle your laughter.
“Okay, I’ll help you find it,” you tell him as he thanks you softly, pressing a kiss to your cheek. You both search for the tiny piece of plastic for a good minute or so. Moving the furniture around as you check in every corner of the room, looking behind all the books.
Then it hits you as you look over at the couch, “Have you looked under the sofa yet?” You ask. He frowns pushing the sleeves of his jumper up to his elbows as he scoffs at you.
“Looked under the sofa? Yes of course I did” he says, and you can tell from the way he fiddles with the strings of his jumper and the smirk that teeters on his lips that he’s lying.
You go and make some snarky comment something along the lines of ‘for a genius that was pretty dumb’ he could already hear it before the sentence could even leave your lips.
“Don’t even say anything” he says, a playful look flicking through his eyes as you purse your lips trying to stop the growing smile. You watch as he walks over to the sofa carefully stepping over the Legos that were neatly placed on the floor.
He picks up the edge of the sofa lifting it up slightly with a small grunt as you check underneath the couch and there it was a small grey Lego brick.
“Got it!- there you go pretty boy” You hand him the piece of plastic, watching as his eyes light up he. He thanks you as he walks back over to his place on the floor.
You join him on the wooden floor, your thigh against his knee as you watch him as he continues to build the typewriter, “Can I help you?” You ask, handing him the bricks.
He looks over at you, admiring just how pretty you are with those love-filled doe eyes of his. He presses a kiss to your temple. “Yeah of course you can sweetheart” he tells you, shuffling to make room for you.

Who do you think loves building miniatures in Haikyuu?
Tbh i had to look up what this was cuz I had no idea LOL
But it’s those little DIY building kits!! Those look so fun! There’s like houses and cafes and little nooks for your bookshelf. They kinda remind me of Legos but a lot more detailed. I imagine they’re very relaxing to put together.
Anyway, a few characters did come to mind that I think would enjoy building miniatures :3
First up is Akaashi. We all know our favorite literature major has a mountain of books and what better way to organize them then with some book nook miniatures? It’s relaxing for him to put together and quiets the rush of thoughts that usually flood his mind. Fidgety hands begone! Although he puts them together pretty fast…
EEEEE I JUST LOOKED UP A BUNCH. HE WOULD TOTALLY HAVE AN ALICE IN WONDERLAND THEMED ONE. And I can see him having the one with cherry blossoms and a train in it. Bokuto probably saw them and got interested too. They tried to build one together once. Bokuto’s hands were not very steady lol and he kept losing the smaller pieces. It’s okay tho, he likes watching Akaashi put them together instead.
I can also see Asahi and Yachi liking them. The Karasuno artists✨ Asahi doesn’t like buying them for himself but when Yachi finds out he likes them too, they buy the same one and do it together.
It becomes a whole thing with Karasuno. On days off, they chill at one of the third years’ house and try to help Yachi and Asahi with them. The Single Braincell Squad™️ (Tanaka, Noya, Kags, Hina) don’t find it that interesting. Hinata would be curious but ultimately would be kicked outside with the rest to work off excess energy lmao
Finally, we have the man, the myth, the legend himself Kita. Just try and convince me that Mr. “Being Meticulous and Thorough Just Feels Good” would not enjoy putting together a tiny doll house. YOU CAN’T CUZ HE WOULD!!
Holy crap, I just saw one of a Japanese courtyard. It’s a yaquan courtyard? It looks so cool, we’re giving Kita this one HEHEH
It was actually a gift for his grandmother but she can’t do it by herself. She’s gotta call her beloved grandson to help her out and of course he’s gonna agree cuz why wouldn’t he. This gets added to their ritual. Every day after dinner and cleanup, they take some time to work on the miniature together. This image makes me incredibly soft brb I’m gonna cry.
Honorable mentions: Aone (I have no explanation, it just feels right), Sakusa (the completionist), and Kiryuu (the final member of the anxiety club)

Alright party people, I’ve spent the last few hours putting tiny books together, and it might be the most nerdy/awesome thing I’ve done in awhile.

My in-laws got me this book nook shelf insert thing for Christmas, and it’s like a wooden model that you have to build. Granted, I love model building and Lego and shit, but I think any bibliophile would get a kick out of it. This is it so far:

And it’s supposed to eventually look like this:

It’s called The Eternal Bookstore by Cutebee if anyone wants to order one

15 people, 15 questions
Tagged by @ultfreakme thank you!! 💕💕
1.) Are you named after anyone?
My first name is biblical and since my parents are Christian and my sibling also has a biblical name, I always presumed it was bc of that. My middle name though is actually a last name from my lineage
2.) When was the last time you cried?
Yesterday! It was day 2 of being home alone since my roommate left for the week and I was feeling particularly lonely since another friend wasn't able to hang out with me the last couple of days in addition to feeling isolated from family during the holiday season Plus being on my period --- yeahhh
3.) Do you have kids?
No. Nope. Nuh uh. Ask me again in 10 years
4.) What sports do you play/have played?
I did volleyball and basketball a lot in my youth, did soccer in elementary school
5.) Do you use sarcasm?
Sometimes. Mostly only with friends when we know we are being sarcastic and are playing it up? Otherwise, I'm just such a literal person I hardly use it elsewhere (even when my friends and I are joking/using sarcasm we often say "just kidding" afterwards)
6.) What’s the first thing you notice about people?
Honestly height and hair. I have such bad face blindness, and I've had it forever. But I'll remember if someone was taller/shorter than me and their hair color
7.) What’s your eye colour?
Grayish blue. They were described like ice before if that helps
8.) Scary movies or happy endings?
Depends on my mood. I like horror movies and there are just so many different kinds- I haven't found a movie that genuinely scares me in a long time though... The last one I remember was Nope. I walked out of the theater and was just watching all the clouds in the sky fkdlsajf
9.) Any talents?
Nothing is really coming to mind... I guess I'm crafty? And it shows itself in different ways. I enjoy the process of creating. Be it in writing or drawing or baking and decorating or following steps- I enjoy having a vision and creating it
10.) Where were you born?
Usa
11.) What are your hobbies?
I read books and fanfiction, I write fanfiction, watch anime and shows, cook, bake, play genshin impact. I've been playing wordle every day for almost a year now. I like tactical stuff with instructions- like legos or putting together furniture- I got this DIY book nook last week and spent like 8 hours putting it together. In school as part of the STEM program we learned how to draft both by hand and on the computer through CAD and Solidworks- those were fun. I miss that. Again it uses that same part of the brain as legos. I also like playing with cards. I have solitaire and pinocle on my phone. I was also learning how to play chess (like the strategy part)
12.) Do you have any pets?
My family home has the cat I got my 8th birthday (barn cat, brown tabby with four white socks on his paws). In the apartment though there is my roommate's black lab, half ragdoll half Siamese cat, and who knows how many fish that keep having babies
13.) How tall are you?
5'10'' (on a good day sshhh)
14.) Favourite subject in school?
MATH HELLO! (......... but also the drafting classes damn i miss those)
15.) Dream job?
Can there be such a thing as having extreme trivia knowledge on my fandoms? I'd like that alot but otherwise.... I'd like to work at one of those cat [Blank] things. Be it a café or a bar or a bookstore (that'd be awesome!!) I think that would be fun
Tagging @alienjack @szivtalan @glitt-erm @amnestyaubrey @farklelucas @brazilian-whalien52 @bloodyspade0000 @traditionalartist @illbebuyingallofthoseflowers and anyone else who sees this and wants to hop in ☺️
#ask game#tags#personal questions?#the talent and hobby one were hard#bc yeah i can do things! paint draw write sing! but i wouldnt necessarily say im Talented at them. i can pluck at a piano. dont give me a#song and expect me to play good/well in a week though.#the one thing i thought i could say i excel in was math and thats...#dont ask me to do simple math like add two numbers. i suck at quick math like that that relies on memory. bc yeah i know what 6×7 is! or#18+5! but it takes my brain a moment to find the answer or remember and process the way to solve something.#but i say i majored in math and people oooo and ahhhh and say you must be good at math!!#i hate math!!#and like- yes and i get it. sometimes i do to.#to want to major in math means you must have had some success and fallen in love with it. and yeah that success can come through innate ski#ll or trial or both.#i found that my love for math deepens when i struggle bc that makes the success that much sweeter.#i feel like there is a connection in this struggle and solving with the bringing about a vision from crafting...#maybe they just have a similar feeling of success. maybe thats all...#but its not i feel in my gut that its not.#writing a proof and beginning with a vision and seeing where the logic leads is very similar to starting a project- be it building something#or writing a novel or starting a painting. you follow the flow and see where it leads you. access if its met its goal or expectations.#and fix the mistakes and if necessary start all over with a new approach.#it is creation.#sorry for the ramblings

Shot this one in my "CITY Space" themed book nook. It wasn't originally one of my faves of the 4 I made for LEGO but after this photo session, I think it's got more possiblities in it.

Hi,
Let’s mixed today’s themes daycare WD reading a Halloween book and maybe Bucky and Reader getting scared so Steve has to comfort them!
The reading nook was decorated with plastic fall coloured leaves and little caartoon ghosts that had been cut out and slapped against the wall. Neither one was incredibly frightening but when the lights had been dimmed for quiet time, it had added to the escalating fear between you and Bucky as he continued reading the ghost story that was laid out in the book in his hands.
It was nothing sophisticated or contrived, but the images in the book were creating this overall illusion that nothing was as it seemed and everything was terrifying. You and he had huddled together in the reading nook, his voice shaking with the same tremor that afflicted your hands as the climax of the book started to appear and when Bucky had started to turn the page, Steve had decided to appear in the nook, startling you and Bucky.
The two of you screamed and the book was thrown, the immediate reaction to cry was inevitable as your hindbrain screamed at you that you were in danger. Everything felt like it was coming down around you and as the tears started to roll down your cheeks, both Bucky and Steve had reacted with their own hindbrain instincts.
“It’s okay, it’s okay ‘mega bean. Don’t cry.” Steve had crouched in front of you, hands cupping your cheeks as he tried to get you to listen to him. “It’s just a story.”
“It’s not real.” Bucky’s own voice had begun shaking, still frightened by the words and the pictures he had seen.
“Bucky, it’s okay.” Steve had turned to Bucky to get him to calm down like he was with you. “Both of you, it's fine.”
“I hate ghosts.” you whimpered, jumping at Bucky when he had come close to you, tossing you both to the ground. “I don’t want any more scary stories.”
“Agreed, beanie.” Bucky hugged you tightly, the two of you pressed against the wall of the reading nook, neither one willing to let go.
“That’s okay!” Steve beamed and crawled forward, stopping when his nose touched Bucky’s. “No more scary stories, how about lego? You like lego?”
“Not yet…too many ghosts.” Bucky shivered and shuddered.
“That’s okay. We can just sit here.”

This morning’s cleaning project was part two of a multi-part process, not much of which is very interesting visually, so here’s a picture of Dearborn the tortie, inspecting a storage box with my Lego advent calendars in it, and also the oat bread I baked while I worked. I’ve now nearly used up all the oats, so I’ll have oatmeal for breakfast some day this week to polish them off.
Podcasts I listen to while working today were “Twisted Loyalty” by A Date With Dateline (it’s an older episode, I’m listening to their back catalogue), “The Execution of the Roman Virgin” by Noble Blood, and the first half of “We Interrupt This Program” by Criminal. It’s very compelling, I’m listening to the rest eventually, I just needed to stop and sit down, and also the bread had to come out of the oven. Total time was about 2 1/2 hours all told, though that includes prepping the oat bread and a batch of pizza dough for later.
More about the actual work I did after the cut since it got long...
I don’t have a ton of storage in this condo, and I did away with some by turning my front hall closet into a mud nook, so I’ve been storing a lot of my clothing in large plastic tubs shoved into corners and in awkward under-bed boxes, rotating between summer and winter wardrobes. It has, however, reached a point of intolerability due to a couple of factors -- having to buy new clothes when I started my new job, having to store them six months later because of the pandemic, and having not really ever fully rotated between winter and summer since, because I so rarely had to leave the condo. So three of my six big plastic bins were full of clothes, plus four under-bed storage bins and two fabric storage bags, plus stuff hanging in the side hall closet and the bedroom closet.
I felt really overwhelmed about trying to organize it all, because it just seemed like so many moving parts at once, so up until now I’ve kind of left it alone. But after thinking about it for a while I realized that I didn’t have to do it all at once, and I could apply my skills as a project manager, where I used to supervise a lot of moving parts regularly, to getting this done. My grandfather didn’t invent the phrase “Do it like eating an elephant -- one bite at a time” but he did teach it to me, so I kept muttering it under my breath and picturing him sitting in the orange chair I inherited from him and my grandmother, keeping an eye on me while I worked.
Yesterday all that I had to do was get all the storage into one place so I could get everything unpacked together. I pulled the bins out from behind my workdesk and under the bed, pulled more out from under the dining room table and behind the book nook, got the fabric bags from the hall closet, and bought one new giant fabric bag to put random stuff in so that I’d have extra storage space.
Today was about getting everything further into a series of “one places” -- all the winter gear (sweaters, coats, accessories) into a bag to be sorted later, for example. The clothing that had been in storage got sorted into four piles: Shorts, Trousers, Shirts, and Long Term Storage. Long Term Storage was stuff immediately identifiable as anything I like but don’t wear very often: costumes, souvenir shirts from events I’ve worked, et cetera. That all went into one of the bins that had just been emptied.
Then, as I sorted my tops further into t-shirts, work shirts, and tank tops, I started pulling clothing out of my closet as well -- anything I haven’t actively worn in the last month or two went into one of those piles. Same with trousers -- anything that I hadn’t worn recently got pulled off the shelving rack I use as a dresser and added to the “try these on, make sure you still like them” piles of shorts, trousers, and jeans. I told myself I didn’t have to try anything on today, but I did have to try on ALL the clothing, discard anything that I no longer liked or that didn’t fit, and store the rest in a more organized fashion. And I found I did have the energy for some, so I got through the shorts and tank tops. The trousers, jeans, work shirts, and t-shirts are still in a pile on the sofa, but it’s been covered with a blanket so the cats can’t romp around in it between today and tomorrow.
There’s still a ways to go -- I haven’t touched any coats, sweaters, flannels, or workout clothing -- but I now have a full storage bag of summer clothing stashed back where it belongs, one of the under-bed storage boxes mostly full of clothing that doesn’t quite fit but could if I get back to running, and a half-full bin of souvenir shirts and costume pieces waiting to have more added. Plus I’ve gotten completely rid of two of the under-bed storage boxes (they were looking rough) and stuffed a whole-ass suitcase (which was already going to charity) full of clothes to donate.
Tomorrow I’ll try on my t-shirts and work shirts to see which ones still fit and which ones I still like, and maybe get to the trousers as well. But I feel like now I’ve got a system in place and I’ve split the work up into more manageable pieces than “I have so many clothes in so many places, most of them not very accessible.” And once I’m done with this process, I’ll have a much better idea of what I might need to buy for when we do go back to in-person work more regularly, given we haven’t relaxed the dress code so much I can wear loud floral shirts to work and get away with it.
Eventually I’m going to need to buy a few more vacuum bags for the winter stuff, and I may have to get rid of a few coats, which I don’t really want to do because messenger bags and cool coats are the two things I really buy and own too many of. But coats are bulky and in Chicago there’s really just not that much call for anything between “Light jacket you wear for five weeks a year in the inbetween seasons” and “FUCKING PARKA” and I own three Fucking Parkas. In my defense I only bought one, the other two were gifts.
Anyway I’m down about three bins’ worth of clothing and found some awesome t-shirts I forgot I owned, so in all a successful morning, and now I’m off to brunch at a friend’s place.

Here are some miscellaneous sketch from the past while most have been really recent with the exception of Desmond and Tom Nook.
In order of how they appear Cream Unicorn Cookie from Cookie Run, Howell Wizard from Bee and Puppycat, Tom Nook from Animal Crossing, Star Person Oc of my who works as a book keeper of sorts, Gregor and Wirt from Over the Garden Wall, Mei, Red Son, MK and Sun WuoKong from Lego Monkie Kid, and finally Desmond Sycamore from Profesor Layton.
I hope they all look alright!

Hello! Not to sure if you’re still doing batfam match-ups, but if I could get one that’d be great, please and thanks!
I’m around 5’2, female and a filipino, so we’re tiny, we’re tan, and we’re pretty loud 💀
I’m a very… Mischievous I guess? I have cute aggression, I like to prank, joke around, jostle with others, very touchy.. childish at sometimes too! But yk I can be serious when needs be.
lately, I really enjoy crafting things! (Legos, those book nook things, keychains and earrings, yada-yada) Other hobbies I have are cooking, reading, drawing, playing video games and idk if it’s considered a hobby, but I really enjoy cleaning!
as I mentioned earlier, even though I try for an inside voice, I’m just naturally loud as is. From my laugh to my everyday voice in general, you’ll know I’m around 💀 (but in contrast the sound of my footsteps are non-existent to this planet)
something I’m lowkey insecure abt is the rashes I have on my skin. I have hyper-sensitive skin, so you could very well trace your name on with your nail or a pencil and it’ll appear all swollen red on me for the next 30 minutes. (Fun and not fun)
being Filipino but growing up elsewhere, I tend to forget not everyone speaks my dialect so I’ll have a full-blown sentence in Filipino and the listener will go “what 😐” or “good lord she’s at it again-“
additionally! I really like Filipino terms of endearment! Sinta (which is close to darling), Palangga (my love) and all that. Same goes for cussing-
was this too much? I hope it wasn’t too much- thank you for this!!! I was literally so happy to see a batfam match-up hehe. Hope you’re staying safe and have a nice day! ♡
DAMIAN WAYNE
he will hate you at first, make no doubt about that. "grayson, why is she so annoying?" and it's just dick smirking at him and knowing that those feelings are eventually going to translate into something else but he's a good older brother and won't say anything
i'm pretty sure damian would speak filipino so when you're bursting out into filipino, he'd amusingly understand what you're saying and probably communicate back
lots of shittalking in filipino. that's the vibes i'm getting
CLEANING?? bro you got yourself a damian wayne at your feet. my guy would love everything spick and span and the fact that he has a partner that enjoys making things clean..mm... he's a lil in love yknow?
he doesn't like touching and he doesn't like loud things, but he finds it endearing from you. he finds himself being spoiled by your touches and would appreciate every single brush of hand or even just holding hands together as you read or play video games or whatever you wanna do
he cleans with you together. it's a little mini date and nobody else can understand it but he just does
you're hanging around with the big doggos and just reading or he's working or doing literally anything you want to do that day. he just wants to spend quality time with you
one of his ideas before he realized that he went heart eyes at you was to take you on patrol and just make the villains hear you yap and then that's how they would surrender
and then about your skin ... damian would not realize at first and then as soon as he did, he'd respect your space. sometimes he'd accidentally do something to your skin (his nail digging in or when he grips your arm too hard) and it'll swell, but usually, he's in control of his body and won't do anything
