being raised in a very left-leaning and progressive environment for my entire life is so bizarre, because i’ll step outside my little box and i realize that the stuff that i thought was “basic shit” is actually considered extremely controversial.
like what do you mean you didnt know that women get payed less than men???? you’re a teenager, i learned this stuff in like, second grade.
what do you mean it’s “uncomfortable” to hear the word “gay” said out loud????
what do you mean it’s “inappropriate” to teach kids about how systematic oppression works????
like sorry, dude this kinda stuff was literal staples to have in conversation, where i come from. i’ve been labeled as offensive so many times for this. like sorry for being educated? idk what you want from me.

It's wild at how hypocritical right leaning/conservatives are
They say that they advocate for free speech yet be the ones to ban books they find 'inappropriate for children' (even if its a public library) and be against someone's mere existence (trans/lgbt people)
They criticize liberals/left leaning people for 'spreading propaganda/politics to children' yet do the exact same thing, just align with their viewpoints and is actually more propaganda than what they were complaining about.
They say that 'woke' comedians aren't funny yet their comedy is the most laziest types of comedies one ever has to endure, with making caricatures of left leaning/liberals saying in your face stuff while being left with a punchline that will have you confused. It's just straw man arguments being disguised as 'comedy' and if you reverse their comedy with left leaning/liberals, i guarantee you they will be complaining instead of laughing.
They say that they judge people by the content of their character and not by skin tone, yet judge people by their sexuality, gender and politics (assuming lgbt people, especially trans people, are sexual deviants grooming children while left leaning/liberals are assumed to be overtly emotional/aggressive, alien and out to 'cancel' you). Not to mention of how they too judge race/ethics (like how they portray blm as well as acting judgy towards certain ethics, like portraying arabs as terrorists), those qualities arent so much of the content of their character, arent they? Well, you can argue on politics but if thats the case, then the left leaning/liberal people should absolutely have their right to portray right wing/conservative people the same way too. Whats that, you dont think so? Oh, okay then it further proves my point that right leaning/conservatives definitely dont judge by content of character.
They call left leaning/liberal people 'snowflakes' when their the ones up in arms over an old disney princess being raceswapped or an lgbt person on screen for a few minutes (and again, get offended over a mere persons existence just because they dont understand it!)
They say that they promote bravery when their the ones dismissing kids questioning their values and just expect them to obey it without any discussion.
They say that they care for children yet ban books informing kids of sex in order to not be taken advantage of/understand their own body, be prolifers despite how children of people who want abortion would have a miserable life, dismiss trans/lgbt children and shove their political values onto kids throats, doing the exact same thing they were complaining about.
They act exactly of what their constantly complaining about, it is funny as it is stupid.

There is a conversation to be had about the fact that Taylor Swift's album is being played in its entirety across all of iHeartRadio's 868 stations, pushing out the opportunities other artists might have had to get radioplay. That's the literal definition of a monopoly. No wonder she'll hit the top of the radio play charts with this maneuver, because at least 65 minutes (if not the back side of the album, which would take it to nearly twice that length) across EIGHT HUNDRED AND SIXTY EIGHT STATIONS will be dedicated to her, artificially boosting her radio play and decreasing everyone else's. In this essay I will—

Content Rich?
I remember logging onto my parents' computer and being overwhelmed with all the content on the Yahoo News homepage. I decided to Google Search the website, and it still exists! What a dinosaur! Unfortunately, it is still as visually busy as I remembered it. I spent a few minutes scrolling and clicking around. I was so overwhelmed by the amount of content that I can't recall what any of the content actually was about! I just remember thinking, "This is too much." Yahoo News is filled with images, links, advertisements, commercials, and news summaries that feel like clickbait. The site needs to be reorganized and formatted in a simpler layout that flows. I would recommend they enlarge their menu at the top and add a Today's Highlights option that would just show the summary of each page's top news story for the day. I would reduce the number of advertisements or move them to one side of the screen so that consumers can actually focus on the intended content. I would also recommend a change in color scheme. I would also recommend they use less unflattering pictures of politicians as it frames the headline as too biased before reading what the news story is supposed to be about.
Tumblr media
Yahoo News claims to be attempting a less biased approach but has been rated as left-leaning (All Sides, 2023). This isn't a good look for a news site based on a search engine. Generally, humans expect search engines to provide results without bias so that the human can form their own opinion instead of having an opinion handed to them. I highly recommend considering centered language and images for news stories.

I think that there are a lot of people who are a great deal more left leaning than they officially acknowledge. Especially amongst younger people. Like if you talk to any gen-z, or to some extent even millennial, who calls themselves a “liberal” or a “democrat” and like 80% of the time they are solidly and objectively a socialist. Maybe they don’t self-identify in that way either due to stigma or just unawareness or maybe they simply have the standard that they actually need to know all the theory to identify in that way, but if you look at their actual values and ideals they will on the whole be at least a great deal more left leaning than the democrats in the government. I don’t think my mom would ever be convinced to call herself a socialist but she is absolutely a democratic socialist at the very least. And I don’t care much for having the correct label all the time that much but I do think that if we took more time to acknowledge this fact that it may help in forming better cohesion on what it is we actually want.
