let me in your atmosphere
It's the start of Xianyun's banner, so I here's a fic I did about her and Andromeda! The title of this comes from Lovesick by Laufey! This is pretty much just a cute little fluffy morning fic
After the game spat in my face and made me lose the 50/50 after 80 pulls, I'm basically having to start from 0 again to try to get her befor the banner ends. I'll be considering all likes, reblogs, etc I get on this a manifestation that ae will come home to me lol

Andromeda wakes up feeling more rested than she usually does. She’s never been a good sleeper— even when she was a child she’d often wake up in the middle of the night. But for the first time that she can remember, she realizes as she stirs awake that she doesn’t think she had any late night interruptions to her sleep. She slept soundly, and she thinks that she owes her unusually good rest to her girlfriend.
Everything with Xianyun is still new. They’re both navigating what their relationship means, but it’s exciting to figure out who they are to each other. There’s an awkwardness that comes with it, but it’s also comforting in a way. Xianyun is amazing— every second that Andromeda spends with aer is precious to her, but letting someone into her life has been strange for her. She’s not used to getting close to people, not used to being able to actually count on other people to listen to her and care about her. This is all uncharted territory.
A month into this relationship, that doesn’t scare Andromeda as much as it used to. Xianyun stays at Andromeda’s apartment in Liyue sometimes now, cuddled up against her in bed. She’s all sharp angles and long limbs, but there’s something comforting about her presence too. Andromeda thinks that ae’s what’s helped her sleep better lately, though aer helping her sleep only makes aer absence in the morning more noticeable.
Andromeda blindly feels around the bed, not yet opening her eyes. When she doesn’t feel anything but pillows and blankets, she half whispers out, “Pretty bird?”
“One can be found on the balcony.” Xianyun’s voice is distant, being carried in through the door by the right side of the bed.
Andromeda has always liked the way Xianyun speaks. Sometimes it reminds her of poetry. There’s a soothing flow to her words that’s pleasant to listen to, and Andromeda’s gotten distracted listening to her talk more than a few times as she’s gotten stuck in just the sound of it.
She climbs out of bed, taking her glasses from the nightstand. One of the good things about having an apartment in Liyue is the balcony built off from the bedroom. It gives a lovely view of the sprawling city, the ocean just barely visible in the distance but still with the smell of sea salt drifting to the balcony in the breeze.
But Andromeda’s attention is drawn away from the warm orange and yellow colors of the sunrise towards Xianyun. Ae’s wearing aer glasses, but aer hair is still down, following down in its feathery layers past aer back. She's pretty in her nightgown, the silky black material going down to her knees and draped off of her slim shoulders.
Andromeda joins Xianyun on the balcony, coming to a stop next to aer. She leans against the railing of it, resting her arms on the cool wood.
“You’re up early,” she states.
“One wanted to enjoy the view,” Xianyun says. “The morning sky in Liyue is unique among Teyvat's wonders.”
“Hmm. Yeah, it’s always pretty like this, isn’t it?”
“Very,” ae says. She shifts closer to Andromeda, wrapping an arm around her waist. “You are a very nice view in the morning too.”
Andromeda can’t help but smile at that. It’s a little bit of an overused line, but there’s a genuineness behind it that makes her heart beat a little faster. It’s hard to believe that this is real, and that Xianyun can truly love her, but it gets a little easier in the softer moments like this.
Andromeda presses a quick kiss to aer cheek.
“Thank you,” she says.
“You don’t need to thank one for simply stating the truth,” Xianyun says. She leans her head against Andromeda’s, having to lower herself a little to do so. “But one does like hearing you say kind things.”
Andromeda smiles. “Hmm. How about I say that you’re gorgeous then? And easily the smartest person that I’ve ever met. You have such a sharp mind, it’s really incredible to see you at work.”
It’s odd. Andromeda has never been good at giving or receiving compliments. It’s always felt to her that words aren’t enough, that they can’t really show what someone’s feeling. It’s easy to twist words into something else, changing their meaning or saying things that aren’t really meant. And when it comes to her complimenting someone, she never feels like she can find the right words for it, never find the words that conveys what she actually thinks. She fumbles and says what feels close enough, even if it only scratches the surface.
But when she compliments Xianyun, the words flow out easily. Everything that she says feels right, even if it will never truly be enough to show her just how much she cares. It’s nice not having to agonize over every word, and it’s nice not to feel like she has to script out everything that she’ll say as she speaks.
“You’re far too kind,” Xianyun says.
“I could say the same to you.” Andromeda knows that it’s not every day that an adeptus has a relationship with a human. There are risks that come with being together, but the fact that Xianyun is willing to take them with her is flattering in and of itself.
Xianyun guides Andromeda’s face up towards her with a clawed finger lifting her chin. Aer lips are soft as ae kisses her. She’s more confident at kissing now than she was just a month ago when they had their first kiss— Andromeda still can’t believe that she was Xianyun’s first kiss ever.
When their lips part, Andromeda still feels lighter on her feet. It’s almost like kissing Xianyun was a relief. She always thought that people were being cheesy and over dramatic when they said that love can change everything, but right now she thinks she can see why they say that.
“Thank you for letting me be part of your life,” Andromeda says.
“One is lucky to spend one’s time with you,” Xianyun replies. Ae nuzzles aer nose against the top of Andromeda’s head. “Now, may one treat one’s radiant girlfriend to breakfast?”
She smiles. “Yeah. Yeah, you can.”

From the start: Miles Morales x black fem! reader
Summary: crush on best friend
Warnings: confessing feelings, feeling heartbroken, injuries, jealously, sadness
Note: I am in my feelings.
Later note: I don't think I am ever gonna finish this. I cannot find the motivation. I'm sorry but, please enjoy.
‘Don't you notice how
I get quiet when there's no one else around?
Me and you and awkward silence
Don't you dare look at me that way
I don't need reminders of how you don't feel the same’
Quietness filled my room. Miles Morales, Harlem's spider man and my best friend, sat in my windowsill, drawing i n his sketchbook. Another picture of that girl he met last year. The atmosphere felt tense, even though neither of us has said a word since he swung into my room, seeking solace from a panic attack. His pencil made scratching noises, heavy and almost sounded like he was ripping the paper. I was still blinking sleep from my eyes because of my disturbed nap. "Miles?"
He looked up at me with saddened dark brown eyes, wiping some freely flowing tears off his cheeks with the sleeve of his puffer jacket. He was breaking my poor lovesick heart with how much this panic attack took affect on him. "You think she forgot about me?" the softness in his sad voice torn me to shreds. I stood up, ignoring the pang in my heart, walking over to him. I sit on the windowsill, scooting closer to him and wrapping my arm around him as he went into another episode of snifflingand crying. I said nothing more as I rub his back. " Let it out, Miles.”
My heart continued to break for him... but it broke for myself. I felt selfish because here was my friend crying about the same girl that he thinks forgot him and I am angry that he still thinks about her while I am here with him all the time.
‘Oh, the burning pain
Listening to you harp on 'bout some new soulmate
"She's so perfect, " blah, blah, blah
Oh, how I wish you'll wake up one day
Run to me, confess your love, at least just let me say’
"Come on, Miles! Not at the arcade too..." I groan in frustration as his mind drifts from eating his nachos to just staring off in the distance, a smile visible on his face. Why couldn't he look at me like that? "Earth to Miles?", I wave my hand in front of his face. I was annoyed about how often he thought about her, especially nowadays.
He snapped out of it, looking at me with that bright look. He gave me the sweetest embarrassed smile, stuffing a nacho in his mouth. "Sorry... Its supposed to be our hangout day-"
"Don’t worry about it. Tell me more about the girl that stole my best friend’s heart." I pretended to be interested about this 'Perfect girl', not wanting him to find out about my seething jealously. My heart was screaming at him to confess to me. To be with me instead of her.
I felt selfish... I should be happy that my bestie has a crush, not anger that I wasn't the girl that he wanted.
But...
‘That when I talk to you oh, Cupid walks right through
And shoots an arrow through my heart
And I sound like a loon, but don't you feel it too?
Confess I loved you from the start’
Nevermind, he owes me nothing for being a friend to him. I may have been there for him every day of my life, but he doesn't owe me anything for loving him so damn much. I should've confessed sooner. Maybe then, I wouldn't have to worry so much about something or someone snatching him away from our friendship.
"Hey. Now you are spacing out?" he laughs, placing his hand on top of mines. My stomach filled with nauseating butterflies as I snapped back to reality. I give him an upside down smile, pulling my hand away from his.
"Let’s go play some video games."
‘What's a girl to do?
Lying on my bed, staring into the bluе
Unrequited, terrifying
Lovе is driving me a bit insane
Have to get this off my chest
I'm telling you today’
With a lot of encouragement from my friends and even Miles parents, I decided I needed to confess to him. My heart was beating out of my chest, scared of how he would react to my confession. I walk towards the water tower, his mom telling me where he was. I stopped in my tracks, my heart breaking in two after seeing blonde hair with pink tips. He seemed so happy talking to her, sharing a plate of food. My shoulders dropped, turning to walk away, feeling guilty for the tears in my eyes. I shouldn't be this upset..
He always talked about her... even during our hangouts. He never looked at me that way, never looked at me past being a friend... and it hurts.. it hurts a lot. Mostly because I've been there for him all this time and he cannot see how much I care for him. I leave the party, tears running down my face. I was gasping and trembling a bit. Why did I ever think he would love me? He loves her. I will never be the girl of his life.

What The Fuck Is Wrong With Tief Hel: (Grand)Parental Pacts, Patrons, and Pain. or, Why Hel Looks Like That Instead Of Like The Rest of Her People.
TW for body horror, health discussion. Long post, consider reading on blog rather than dash.
PT. 1: WHAT’S THE DAMAGE
For those not in the loop/who are being introduced to this muse on this blog rather than her old solo venture, we’re dealing with an AU version of my mythological Hel muse. In Norse mythos, Hel is a goddess of the dead, and has a vision that represents the limbo in which she serves. A living entity who rules over a realm of death, to one side she is a legendary beauty – and on the other, a horrifying corpse woman. Think Two-Face but substantially more Goth/Upsetting.
This is a deformity I carry into all of her verses, because disability in the divine is kind of an awesome concept actually, but the whole ‘half dead’ thing sometimes doesn’t translate very well into different verses. Sometimes, she instead has severe life-altering burns over half of her body, sometimes she just has a skin/muscle/nerve condition that largely effects one side, and sometimes it’s just a form of partial mummification in terms of look. One side of her will always, however, be affected by a chronic condition involving skin/muscle/veins/nerves. I’ll dig deeper into what this means for her mobility and health later. For now, we’re speaking strictly on what her actual appearance is.
In the verse in question – Galdur’s Bait 3 – I follow the schema of ‘disfiguring skin condition with underlying issues beneath said skin.’ That is to say, her left side is looking rather withered, skin drawn tight against her bones, looking fragile and rather spent. It isn’t a perfectly even 50/50 spread, but does appear to ebb and flow more to the right or only taking up a small fraction of her left side. It runs from her brow down to her feet themselves, though she dresses to obscure this fact and make it appear it’s only her face affected. It’s actually a key part of her early romance arc that she exposes her condition to the PC in full.
The impression this gives is… Unsettling. I’ll also go more into depth with this in a later point, but most common folk prefer not to look at Hel, and it’s often assumed she’s under the effect of some curse or an Undead. The point is, she barely looks like a natural Tiefling… Which is not an incorrect assumption, actually. Hel wasn’t created by cavorting with Cambions or trueborn tieflings having trysts. She’s not of Asmodeus, Mephistopheles, or Z*riel’s loins, metaphorically or otherwise.
Hel’s infernal lineage was a gift, you see. An Infernal gift, of course, but not from any of the usual suspects. She doesn’t owe her race or appearance to a Demon.
She owes it to a Dragon.
PT. 2: DAMAGE GETS DONE
Hel is not a first generation adventurer. She’s not even second generation. Lifetimes ago, there was a band of adventurers traipsing through the North. Two of these will be important to this meta moving forward – Farbauti Sudden-Striker, a Reghed Barbarian, and Laufey Liesmith, an Ill*skan of N*therese descent. As stated, Farbauti was a melee build, while Laufey supported he and their companions with magics. That should come as no surprise, given her heritage as one of the diaspora of that doomed empire, nor should her prodigious talent with the Weave.
Pivotal to this story, however, is the fact Laufey was an ambitious woman, and one who sought to supplement her already great powers with something more. The much touted Sorlock who built upon her inborn Sorcerer capabilities with a Warlock Pact, she worked tirelessly to hide that fact from others. Such an attempt to hide her deal only highlighted its nature: Infernal.
And there was plenty of reason to hide that fact. Not only was the North none too kind to such meddling, but she had not settled for more minor Patrons. Between her alarming natural power and her excellent breeding, she would serve only the best and darkest – or the most colorful, as the case might be. All of this pride led her to the altar of a then-Archdevil. With mutual aims towards power and control, and the agreement that Laufey would tirelessly serve her lady’s aims for domination and treasure both, Laufey signed herself to Tiam*t during her reign over Avernus.
She served with grace and discretion, collecting gold and land in service of her dark lady. Driven but lawful, many would be put off by such loyalties. Farbauti, for his part, was drawn into that gravity. Beautiful, brilliant, and with a distinct danger about her, Laufey was a lady worth fighting for, someone whose wit could help his own ambitions come to fruition. Theirs was a perfectly balanced union that produced two sons.
That is where it all falls apart. Despite being Humans both, the pairs first son was born wrong, possessing his father’s crimson hair, his mother’s pale complexion, and both a tail and the first hint of future horns. Laufey’s pact came back to haunt her during a lull in her adventuring, but the boy – Loki -- bore no outwards signs of her Lady’s favor besides the difference in race. The family left the North, finding it inhospitable for their son, and seemed like they might have made it.
A second son was the death of Laufey. The loss of Laufey was not the end of Tiam*t’s stain on the family.
Loki, for his part, took up his parents adventuring ways as he came of age. His lifestyle eventually led him to the Storm Horns, where he fell in with a Goliath clan and made something of a more permanent life with its leader. Each of their children were, per the rules of the setting, Tiefs like their father. The first son was about as normal as the offspring of such a union could be, reflecting more of a Goliath’s height and build as he grew. The second son had a strange way of growing scales rather than the natural ridges of his people, but was otherwise to standard.
And then there was his only daughter. Hel, who was born horrific, with disfigurements that could not be solved by magic and failing health that eventually saw her sent away from the mountain as an act of mercy. Her apparently degenerative, accursed appearance was much speculated about, but ultimately chalked up to divine mischief: Her father was an agent and acolyte of Mask, and his daughter’s conception lined up eerily with the end of a conflict against the Church of Cyr*c.
Those who look closely enough, however, will notice a few traits that point instead to her grandmother’s Patron, and perhaps even a sort of ‘blessing’ from the Chromatic Dragon.
PT. 3: SYMPTOMS AND SOCIETAL SIDE-EFFECTS
Maybe you’re saying to yourself, ‘Wow, Kadi, what interesting backstory lore you cooked up for your playthrough!’ More likely you’re saying, ‘Why the fuck did this bitch make me read that entire wall of text???’ Either way, I’m sure you’re at the conclusion of ‘What the shit does that have to do with your thesis statement?’ And I’m here to answer that question, with sources.
First, let’s get a little more in-depth with Hel’s appearance: The grey-tinted skin of her Goliath heritage, the slightly above average height that is also a gift from her mother, the back-swept horns and the prehensile tail and the vibrant eyes swimming in pools of black sclera that are so common among Tiefls. But the first thing anyone will notice about this woman is aforementioned textural/disfigurements from part one.
That isn’t just for show, by the way. It’s far more than skin deep. Per a past meta I wrote on the subject:
“For the most part, these aforementioned malformations outwardly exhibit themselves in neurological damage to her sensory and motor capabilities. This damage is commonly expressed in loss of sensation, reduced range of motion, and muscle weakness, as well as occasional fits of twitching or shaking in her extremities, digits, or facial muscles. More rarely, she might deal with temporary bouts of pain and partial paralysis through her rotted half, both of which can be quite debilitating and interrupt her routines, or even leave her bedridden in especially severe cases. Besides these neurological issues, there’s also the matter of reduced blood flow and vein problems running through half of her body. There is an underlying heart issue at play here, which poses a much more sizable risk than her constant but stabilized nerve problems. Coldness of extremities might be the most obvious that many will see – or in this case, feel. – but it’s just the first of many underlying problems. Lethargy and fatigue can also put Hel out of commission for a time, and can be especially worrisome when coupled with the aforementioned, infrequent periods of nerve pain. The moment where these two issues really wreak havoc on each other is when swelling of extremities puts further strain on Hel’s already damaged nerves.”
So what we have is Hel, who was born with debilitating but far from fatal chronic pain, which cannot be healed by any means. She also has visible malformations that only make her life more difficult-- this is not an invisible struggle on her part. It has been quoted in past editions that Tiam*t, dubbed the Undying Queen, is not fond of healing magics, and all but demands her faithful embrace pain to come out the other side of it stronger. It’s not an immediate tell of her heritage/the cause of recent Infernal twists on the family tree, and indeed no one is likely to cotton on to this side of Tiam*t’s doctrine in line with Laufey’s only granddaughter, but from a Meta perspective it can be inferred that Hel has suffered for all 35 years as a counterbalance or even as a sign of favor for her grandmother’s loyal service.
There’s more to it than wounds that will not heal/physical pain builds character, however. There’s physical tells unrelated to her malformations that also act as a walking advertisement of a Pact made generations before.
As has been pointed out to me by a friend, there is one aspect of Tiam*t that has endured through all editions and depictions. It’s a subtle thing, but the shape of her tail is singular. While Hel does not have a 1:1 ‘recreation’ of this aspect, she sure doesn’t have the standard spade or smooth tapering end that many Tiefs possess a their tips. It much more resembles a stinger, though the cartilage is neither hard/sharp enough to actually be used as a weapon, and this ‘stinger’ lacks the venomous capabilities of Tiam*t’s own tail. There is also the fact Hel’s ridges are scale-like in texture, which is something she shares in common with a brother.
Of course, the average person is not going to look at Hel and put together ‘Ah, Tiam*t influence.’ They are going to look at her and ask if she’s dying, planning on leaving anytime soon because she’s frightening the children and a fair few adults, or just draw weapons on what they take for an Undead. Too few people want to look at her long enough or have a deep enough understanding of the Chromatic Dragon’s aesthetics/doctrine to draw the correct conclusion. Even if they did and passed a perception check to recognize her for what she is, it’s just another mark against her, another reason to drive her out or draw blades.
That’s not likely to happen, however. Not even Hel’s own family can put the pieces together about her connection to the grandmother she so favors, as the family’s bet is actually on the fact her father pissed off Cyr*c before riding home to sire her.
PT. 4: LOOKING TO THE FUTURE
So that’s how we got here. What does it mean for Hel moving forward?
Well… not a lot. She’s not particularly invested in the Infernal, and already sold herself off to K*lemvor as a Cleric decades ago. Her grandmother is long dead and buried, so learning the truth from Laufey is a non-starter. Hel has a perfectly serviceable answer for why she is ‘like this’ in the assumption about Loki’s past activities she’s been made aware of. The strangeness has thus far gone no further than her, as in both endgames where she has kids they’re far more baseline as Tiefs go.
She’ll still have that wound that will not heal in her physical capabilities, but then, she’d have that even if there was a less fantastical reason for their existence. Even if someone were to come forward tomorrow and out all of this to her the day after the epilogue, there’s not much she can do with the information.
It can, however, open the door for several adventure hooks. I’ve even toyed with loose ends tying party lore together in Laufey’s cult was the seed from which grew the attempted attack on the Gate that another companion thwarted. That both have something to lay to rest while dragging their mutual friends along for the ride. That in any ending that leads the party to Avernus, there’s either roses or scorn thrown at one who reeks of the Chromatic Dragon. That the shades of the past start reaching out for Hel, drawn either to her resemblance to Laufey or her future friction with her chosen God. And then there is always the long-shot possibility someone recognizes Hel for these ‘tells’ of a past pact with Tiam*t and comes to collect a pound of flesh or incorrectly assess she’s caught up in worship of the Dragon in question.

Song for Chapter 9: Valentine - Laufey
Chapter 9: Click
Getting Lea to actually let you go to this meeting with Felix was really difficult. Kai on the other hand, has loosened up a lot. You walked over to the cucumbers and started to pick from the batch.
“He isn’t going to kill me; I’ve known him for months now.” You said mindlessly. Lea looked at you funny.
“Okay let me see a photo of him.” You rolled your eyes and tossed her your phone; your lock screen was a screenshot from a FaceTime call you had. Felix got the bright idea to try and actually cook something instead of baking. The photo was your favorite because if you missed him all you had to do was tap and hold your lock screen. You could then see him lose his mind over how the meat he cut looked.
“Y/n you are being catfished.” Lea was serious. You turned to her, looking confused. Now tossing the now bagged cucumbers and walking to the oranges.
“No, I’m not, that is a screenshot from a FaceTime call, I have seen his face more times than I can count.” You said, “and heard his voice.”
“Y/n…” Lea looked at you with a sad look. Part of you was trying hard not to get offended. You tied up the bag of oranges and led the cart to another aisle.
“Click down on my home screen. It is literally a live photo.” You were 1000% sure you were not getting catfished, he would send you his face at almost every angle and you’ve seen it at every angle in real time on FaceTime.
Lea looked at you like you had just murdered someone in the middle of this grocery store. You turned to her stopping the cart on the side of the aisle.
“What?” You looked back at her while she handed you your phone.
“Open your phone right now I want more proof of this guy.”
You furrowed your brows and unlocked it, handing it back, “listen, I know he looks like a model but he’s real you can look through our texts and sent photos if you want to.” You didn’t really want your privacy to be invaded however it was hard to not get defensive over this. Felix was someone who you really liked and the fact that your friend was now saying this put you off a bit.
As you continued to grocery shop while Lea snooped, Kai ended up meeting back with you guys with stuff he wanted. It mainly consisted of little candies he wanted to try.
“I heard THIS ONE is so good, I have been researching and I saw that guy try it on TikTok!” Kai held up the candy, you had no idea what the wrapper said but if Kai wanted to try it then Kai gets to try it.
“Which guy on TikTok?” You asked, you’re sure Kai had to of sent you the video once.
“That one guy, I don’t remember his name, I am too busy on trying to get Soobin’s dog viral.” Kai sighed.
“The old one?” You asked, Soobin only had one really old dog who still jumps around like he was 2 months old again.
“How dare you say he is old!” He acted like he was offended.
                “Is he not like thir-“
“Y/n L/n.” Lea interrupted your conversation, nails digging into your arm, you could’ve screeched if you weren’t in public.
Kai looked at her and secretly put more stuff into the cart.
“Lea OW!” You whisper yelled at her, “what is it?!”
She held your phone up, it was a photo of Felix, one you haven’t seen before.
“What am I supposed to be looking at?” You asked.
“Y/N!” Lea said loudly, this made you jump back a bit, well as far as her death grip would let you.
Kai grabbed the cart, “um… I’m just gonna take this and finish the shopping…” He quickly swerved away leaving you and Lea in the aisle.
“I don’t know what I’m looking at.” You said, you really didn’t. It was just a random selfie of him on Pinterest, so what? Random people get Pinterest clout all the time. Also, for someone who is super into TikTok like Felix, it wouldn’t be surprising if Felix had Pinterest clout or even TikTok clout.
“You WORK in a K-pop store how can you not recognize him?!” Lea said and handed you your phone back.
“I have no clue what you are trying to connect here Lea. Felix is just some rand- “
“HIS NAME IS FELI-“ you quickly covered her mouth. You guys were in public and the last thing you wanted to do was cause a scene.
“Yes, we met on Club Penguin, I thought I told you the story while we were at work.” At this point you were a little annoyed. Lea’s eyes widened and pulled your hand off her mouth.
“Y/n this is an idol. This is the GUY from Stray Kids!”
You actually laughed at this, “Lea he hates Stray Kids. Come on we need to find Kai, if he gets lost then I have no clue how we would find him.”
When you guys found Kai and finally checked out, you couldn’t help but try to make connections in your head. It would make sense, a lot of sense. The only way you could be sure though is if you looked up Stray Kids, and you were not about to break your pinky promise with Felix. On the walk home you three talked about the upcoming plans. For the most part you were going to be left alone for the next couple days. Apparently, they want to film the Huening Family gathering or something. You weren’t going to complain, I mean you got a trip to another country out of this. On top of that, you get to meet someone who has made your life astronomically better by just being around you.
After the groceries were tucked away Lea dragged you to your shared room.
“Lea I am not going to listen to your conspiracy theories.” You huffed a laugh out and turned to the closet, which was now unpacked, you had to get dressed and ready to see him. You were somewhat annoyed with her trying to push this, but you didn’t show it.
“Y/N I AM NOT CRAZY!” Lea flopped down on her bed; you started getting changed. But you didn’t like the outfit, or the next, and so forth.
“You sound crazy.” You let out a soft chuckle and turned to the mirror near the door. You really wished you packed better clothes; you would just have to settle on a sweater and long skirt, your boots would pair well with this combination of clothes.
“YOU SOUND CRAZY!” Lea retaliated, “with how you two talk and what you talk about it is not surprising if he WAS FELIX FROM STRAY KIDS!”
This made you stop messing with your hair in attempts to fix it, “Lea. I don’t want to think about this, there is no way an idol would be on Club Penguin and there is no way an idol would waste his time on me. Now if you excuse me.” You turned to the door grabbing your big coat and walking out. Kai was sat at the kitchen on FaceTime with Yeonjun. You popped in the FaceTime and then quickly headed out, grabbing your backpack, and putting on a mask.
You typed the address into your phone and started to get the directions, you prayed that you wouldn’t get lost. The last thing you would want to do is be late to this. You texted Felix telling him you were on your way and described your outfit. This was big for you, really big and you did not want to mess this up. Never in your life were you this nervous to see someone. What if he smelled bad? What if he actually was trying to kidnap you? Maybe you should have been nicer to Lea… Because if you die that wasn’t really a nice way to end off things. Okay Y/n calm down you weren’t going to DIE! That is crazy talk. You took a deep breath as you walked near the river, it was beautiful. The walk and the river helped calm you down, at the end of the day if this meeting went horribly then you would just leave or go somewhere where you could lose him. The café was in your sights and your chest tightened. This was it. You wait for when it was safe to walk the cross walk, your stomach was doing flips. Tying your jacket around you, you finally walked to the café.
Calm down Y/n it will be fine. You stood by the café under a tree, it was cold today, but the sun was still out and you were wearing a big jacket. That would be gross if you started sweating everywhere before you met him. I mean what if you smelled weird!? You didn’t even think about that! You kept freaking out if he was a creep, but what if YOU looked creepy. Oh god… You quickly opened your phone to try and kill time. Lea was telling you to watch out for paparazzi, you rolled your eyes, texting something snarky but funny back. That was a good last impression in case you did die.
“Y/n!” Your whole body ran cold when you looked at him, mainly because he scared the fuck out of you.
“WHAT HAPPENED TO THE CODE WORD?!” You laughed as he practically yanked you into a hug, you were surprised he could hug you with how much stuff was in his hands.
“Pizza Parlor!” Felix laughed as he swung you around a little. You held onto him pretty tightly and smiled into his shoulder. He pulled away and looked at you. You were a little sad at the loss of contact, Felix did not smell bad at all. In fact, in a way he smelled expensive.
“You really are so pretty.” He was smiling behind his mask you could tell by his eyes, the way they practically sparkled at the sight of you. Before you could answer he spoke again, “oh! I got you flowers, and I baked brownies last night, I barely got any sleep but it’s okay!” He handed you the container and flowers. At this point all nerves washed away. You were grinning from ear to ear. BinsHusband, Scara, Felix, was in front of you, and you were fully welcoming him.
“Thank you, Felix.” You looked up at him, he had such beautiful eyes, you could see the freckles that framed his eyes as well. You both just stood there looking at each other before breaking eye contact and laughing.
“I’m sorry I am really nervous; I don’t want to mess this up.” Felix rambled and messed with hair that was poking out of his beanie. You felt your heart smile, it was sweet that he was nervous.
“Honestly, I almost threw up on the way here.” You admitted, this made him chuckle. It sounded so pretty; HE sounded so pretty.
“Well let’s head inside so you can throw up in the café.” He joked and you nodded, putting the brownies into your backpack. Felix helped you of course, then hesitated when you were situated.
“Um… Can I-“he motioned to your hand. You felt your face heat up and you grabbed his hand, “alright then.” He smiled. Felix led you two into the restaurant, one of your hands carrying the flowers and the other carrying his. It was almost as if it was meant to be held by him.
“Tell me what you would like for brunch this morning, I will order and pay.” He said when you two sat down.
“Felix, you don’t have to I have money.” You said, you didn’t want him to spend his money.
“Y/nnnn please.” Felix whined, you decided to cave in.
“Fine, I would like a vanilla coffee with extra cream, and uhhhhh…” You didn’t really know what you wanted to actually consume.
“I will start you with that, pretty.” He got up and went to get you your coffee. You were sat there giggling to yourself, you texted Lea and Kai that you were safe and okay. Better than okay. Your stomach that was once nervous was replaced with butterflies. Over call when you were with him your heart was full and warm, now that he was actually in front of you it felt like you were on overdrive. In a good way of course.
When Felix came back with two drinks and three macaroons, you then finally noticed that barely anyone else was in the restaurant.
“Is this place not popular?” You whispered. He took off his mask and sipped his iced coffee, the drink looked more like tinted milk than coffee.
“Huh? Oh, its super popular why?” Felix watched you take off you mask and for a second, he seemed mesmerized.
“There is like no customers here.” You let out a small chuckle and blew softly to cool your hot coffee. Your hands were thanking you for the warmth of the cup.
Felix looked around, “haha wow would you look at that, maybe 11am is a weird time to get coffee!” You gave him a funny look then sipped your coffee; it was FANTASTIC. Your eyes practically lit up, totally forgetting the weird apocalyptical atmosphere.
“Good?” Felix giggled, you nodded and set down your coffee. You two ended up taking photos of each other because this really was a momentous occasion.
“Soooo, Y/n do you have to be back at a certain time? Like any plans today?”
You shook your head no, “actually I will probably be alone for the next couple days… But Kai and Lea said they would make it up to me after so.”
“Oh? Why’s that?” He asked and took a bite of the yellow macaroon, after he nudged the container towards you. You smiled and took the pink one.
“They have to film the Huening reunion.” You said, “you know, since their sister is an idol, idol stuff I guess.” You took a bite, this small pastry was so amazing.
“Trust me I understand that.” Felix took another sip of his coffee, you noticed that sometimes he would bite the plastic straw. He had cute little habits that you didn't get the privilege of knowing about while on call.
You two made small talk before he disposed of the trash and walked you two out. Felix decided to walk with you along the river, it was such a sight. The early afternoon air, the way there was a small breeze that would move the hair peaking out of his beanie, gorgeous.
“Are you going to be alone at your Air BnB then?” Felix asked, then put his hands up, “not trying to sound creepy.” He chuckled. You thought for a moment.
“For the most part, yeah.” You said switching the arms at which you were carrying the flowers, “I think they’ll come back at the end of the day but I’m not sure.”
“Ahhh, if they don’t tell me, I can see if you can stay with us. I’d be a little nervous with you there alone, you have some bad luck with that.” Felix kicked a rock. You gasped and playfully shoved him.
“Okay I got my apartment EGGED ONCE! He ended up dumping her too… thank God.” You rolled your eyes.
“Shit really?! Finally.” Felix sighed dramatically, “you also got followed home when you were alone. You have horrible luck Y/n ADMIT IT.”
You thought for a moment, “okay that I will give you. But that’s IT!”
“If you stay with us, I have a lot of gaaames.” He said, trying to persuade you.
“What happened to not wanting to be creepy?” You laughed.
Felix threw his head back and cackled, “if I had candy, I would have given it to you but I settled on the brownies.”
“Surprised you didn’t try to pick me up in a white van.” You joked. He kept chuckling his shoulders bouncing a little.
“Last time I checked you flew to me.”
You gasped again, “I didn’t mean to! How was I supposed to know you lived here!”
“Mhmmmm suuuure!” He giggled and looked at you in a teasing manner.
Felix hummed to himself as you two kept walking, your hand brushed against his and he grabbed it with no hesitation this time.
“Getting bold now?” You looked up at him, he smiled at you from under his mask which was now put back on.
“Um, I have always been the bold one, thank you very much.” He teased back and nudged you. You giggled, like ACTUALLY giggled which made you blush out of embarrassment.
“Awww is Pretty getting embarrassed.” Felix pushed, now standing in front of you, “your ears are reeedddd.”
You rolled your eyes and looked away from him, "in your dreams..."
“I am so happy you’re here. That itself feels like a dream.” Felix suddenly leaned down to you. You looked back at him and smiled from under your mask. It was hard to pretend to be mad at his teasing.
“Would you be comfortable with watching a movie back at my place?” He asked, “tomorrow.”
You thought for a moment, fuck it right? I mean you already went out with him and it went really well.
“I would love to; will your roommates be okay with it though? And don’t you work?” Your eyes stayed glued to his. He let out a small huff, seemingly getting reminded of reality.
“I’ll tell them, it should be okay though, you’re lucky the oldest thinks you’re funny, and I’ll just get you after work its fine.” Felix shrugged. You turned your head slightly. Curiosity filled you, and you felt it was now or never to ask this of him...
“I would love to.” You started and Felix eyes lit up, “but…” His face dropped.
“Can you please tell me where you work?” You asked, “if you can’t… it-its fine but- “ You saw Felix take a deep breath as you stumbled over your words, you didn't want to upset him with this question and you were scared you overstepped.
                “I’m an idol.”

Only the anchestors keeping watch over you would know just how long you had been resting until your body was eventually able to move again.
As you looked around, you found several pairs of glowing red eyes observing every one of your moves, clashing with the otherwise darkness around you.
You bolted in an upright position, chest waving heavily as your breath was forming a cold mist. Much to your surprise, you were covered in warm furs.
“Worry not” one of them spoke, their body almost inseparable from the icy cave you apparently resided in. “We are a warrior tribe, not warmongers. What do we gain from killing a weak Asgardian noblewoman and their child?”
“Where is he?!” you choked on your own sob, only able to calm down when yet another giant handed the small bundle into your arms.
They seemed to have cared for him while you were unable to, having fed and cleaned the small boy who was still impossible to distinguish from those powerful giants.
“What is his name?” A female of them seeked to know.
You stopped in your tracks at her question. Everything happened so fast, there was no time to think about it until now.
“His...his name is...L-Liam*. Liam Lokison.” The unintended alliteration made you smile. Yes, this was a formidable name for such a little fighter.
“Loki, you say?” A row, deep voice drang to your ears, huffing at hearing the name of your husband.
It is him again - Laufey.
Initially, you wanted to express your gratitude for his benevolent hospitality, but concluded it would be better to not interrupt.
“Loki, you say?” he repeated the name, tone laced with venom pumping through his heart. “That pathetic excuse of a Jotunn?”
What in hel did he just say?!
“No wonder that crossbreed of yours is so pathetically tiny.” Laufey would now eye his grandson with great fascination, even though adverse. “A disgrace, just like his father.”
“Wha- what in the realms are you...talking about?”
You took in a sharp breath, pulling the child deeper into your arms and away from his wary eyes.
The king could only laugh at your attempts, finding this farce absolutely amusing.
“Hilarious”, he scoffed, “I take from your reaction that Odin is still the old, pathological liar.”
The Allfather had expected you to die in this environment before you’d ever find out the truth, and even if not - Odin thought Laufey to be wildly ashamed of his son, and he would never admit that this freak was his child.
And that was where he was wrong.
“He still didn’t tell any of you?” The Jötunn thought back to that day of indescribable loss. First and foremost the war with Asgard and them taking away his power, together with the Cascet of Ancient Winters - and then...
“The man you call the God of Mischief was born on Jotunheim, as Laufeyson” he declared, and the following words made your heart clench dreadfully. “For whyever I deserved such misfortune, my firstborn came into this world as a failure.”
“Our world is harsh and unforgiving” Laufey continued and apparently, none of the folk seemed surprised. “It is an act of mercy to erase the weakest of our kind, since they wouldn’t survive either way.”
“Lies” you hissed - but the proof was right there, in your arms. “You are lying!”
However, deep inside, you already knew that his words were true.
Why?
Not minding the surrounding giants, you began crying from all the weight on your heart - mourning over the fate of your lover.
From his very first day, Loki Laufeyson was doomed. His only birthright was failure, exclusion and resentment, with death’s grip constantly at his throat.
“Then-” Connecting the dots, fear overcame your system. “Why did you help me?”
“Too much blood of Asgardians and Jotunns had been shed.”
Now that you thought of it, they had saved you - cared for Liam, even. Neither had they left you to die, nor tried to harm you or the child in any way.
Odin was really the greatest liar in all of history - for there were no monsters in Jotunnheim. Only a different race of people.
“I have stained my own hands in countless battles against your kind. But we are in dire need of peace, Y/N of Asgard. And your child could be the key.”
Anger began boiling inside of you, thoughts still revolving around how Loki had been lied to for all those years - and for what? Diplomacy? Using him like a tool, to control the Jötunn?
“Loki is Asgardian just as much as you are.” Somehow, the king almost sounded pained at the revelation. “He is unaware of his heritage, taught to despise us from childhood on. There is no way he would connect our two cultures with how much hatred he bears in his heart.”
At first, you felt close to passing out once again - the emotional exhaustion being way worse than what your body could take.
Those past two days were just too much for you: Liam’s birth, his genes, being cast out by your own people - and now, knowing that Loki had been lied to and used, even might be in danger at the hands of his own father?!
“So, you want me to...raise him here?” The thought alone made your insides churn, thinking back to your homeland. “I think I have to decline that generous offer.”
“No, not like that.” Laufey slowly approached both of you, wary to not touch your skin in any way. He signalized the want to touch his grandson, and you allowed it.
Of course, in a primal tribe like that, showing weakness was unforgiveable - especially if you were the king.
Yet you couldn’t really describe why, but somehow you knew that Laufey wasn’t as heartless as it appeared to be. Maybe, back then, he really thought his decision to be best - but now?
Everything you could decipher in his orbs as he touched Loki’s child was remorse, yearning and guilt. The loss of his firstborn was still present in his heart, aware that even though alive, they had grown apart from each other beyond repair.
“You need sunlight and warmth to survive.” Homesickness could also kill you, you knew that much. “We only ask of you for visits during his upbringing, so he can learn our ways and traditions. See both sides of the coin.”
A bridge between worlds, huh?
On the one hand, it was a huge responsibility you would burden on your child - yet you knew that at least learning about his heritage was his birthright.
Never you would allow yourself to dwell on comfortable lies like Odin, just because you didn’t want to be condemned for the past!
You would save Loki, as well as ensure this wonderful child’s future!
“Laufey, my king and inlaw, so it shall be. This child is now part of your tribe, as much as it is Asgardian.”
_____
[Several weeks later]
“To what do I owe the pleasure?”
Laufey looked down on the Asgardian prince, standing in front of the gates of the Jotunn village.
“I demand on seeing my wife, you dull creatures!” Loki materialized a dagger, threatening to throw it right into the Jötunn’s eye. “Whatever you’ve done to her, I will repay a thousand times!”
Unimpressed, Laufey spoke “I see Odin has taught you his manners. Violent, hotheaded and selfish. No wonder she did not stay with you.”
“I ask you this one last time: Where. Is. Y/N?!”
Without any second thought, the God of Mischief had left in secret, facing the giants all alone without help of his brother or soldiers.
Because your husband was devastated beyond relief.
Without you at his side, the half-god had completely lost his way. All this time since he thought you dead, nothing could save Loki from his own mind.
For weeks, he wouldn’t leave his chambers, sitting in the dark for hour after hour without nourishing his body in the slightest.
He was haunted by how your belongings reminded him of those blissful days of your marriage. Your scent was still present on those now empty bedsheets, fogging his mind and keeping him from much-needed sleep.
Tumblr media
The only matter he busied himself with aside from screaming and crying until his throat went sore, were the thoughts of what could be:
Knowing himself responsible for your imminent demise was eating him alive - even if that child wasn’t his, if only he didn’t rush things and would’ve let some time pass, to become clear-headed again as he was now.
Would Loki be able to forgive you and live on, overcome this hardships like so many before?
Most certainly! Because he needed you at his side, more than anything else.
Loki Odinson couldn’t live without the light of his life.
And if there was even the slightest chance of you still being alive, he would claim what was his and start anew.
“Loki, your eyes are wide open, and yet you don’t seem to see the full picture.”
When Laufey refused to descend to the entrance, Loki would immediately teleport himself towards the giant, blade aiming at his throat. “You will answer to your crimes, monster!”
The king was able to repel the attack by grabbing the god’s wrist - yet instead of the incoming pain Loki was expecting, merely his clothing froze into crumbles...
...and his limb turned in a shade of dark blue.
“You’ve grown strong, my son.”
_______
*Liam is a irish name, meaning “strong-willed warrior” or “protector”.

570 words written today...Sundays, you know.  Still working on the Loki, Frigga, and Farbauti altverse flashback; we’ve now moved onto me talking about Asgardian/Jotun concepts of fate and destiny, which means that they need to match up at least in concept with what the TVA makes possible, just framed very differently.  (The fun part is that the whole set point/tentpole event thing is, in fact, how I actually plot, but I just need to make sure I can phrase it in ways that make sense for all parties involved.)
Snippet from Morning altverse Loki flashback 1.
“Asgard has bad blood with Laufey.  It will do both of us good to have a fresh start with a new ruler.”
“With the woman who left my child to die on a frozen rock?” Frigga said, her voice hard, and Loki felt a muscle in his jaw jump again.
“It’s Jotunheim, Frigga, everything’s frozen,” Farbauti said. “And if I hadn’t left him to die, he wouldn’t be your child now, would he?  He would be mine.”
Frigga’s hands tightened as Loki said, “Tell me – tell me why.”  His voice broke on the second syllable and he had to start over.  “You owe me that much.”
“I owe you nothing,” Farbauti said.
“Then consider it a condition of any friendship between us.”  He practically spat the polite euphemism.
Farbauti put her head slightly to the side and said, “You really are Odin’s son, aren’t you?  You sound just like him.  You even look like him.”
“Yes, I’m aware, thank you,” Loki said through teeth clenched so tightly his jaw ached.  “I’ve been told that my entire life and I’d rather not think too much about it in case I start screaming.”
“Loki –” his mother began.
He shook his head. “It’s my face, Mother, it’s not worth thinking about too closely.”

965 AD, Tønsberg, Norway
Odin: Laufey, I know you're upset about how things ended-
Laufey: Upset?? Oh, I am FAR past upset! I am right royally pissed off!
Odin: Laufey...
Laufey: Don't you "Laufey" me, you son of a bitch! You owe me child support!
Odin: Of course, of course, I have no objections to taking the child off your hands-
Laufey: I said child support not custody! Allow me to make this simple for you, dear - child support and alimony to be delivered every nine weeks to my residence or I'm going to squeeze what is owed to me and my child from your pathetic protectorate.
Odin: That's not negotiable, I'm afraid. If you move against Midgard, I will be forced to stop you.
Laufey: Good. Perhaps I will take your life as well as your gold.

Queening a Pawn, 16
Summary: During the Time Heist, Loki stole the Tesseract and escaped. He did not expect, however, to be pulled through a Time Loop that delivered him to a Midgard more than a decade older, wiser, and bitterer. Having just lived through his unsuccessful attack in New York, Loki must learn to live in Midgard after the defeat of Thanos (post-Endgame). The question is, who is Loki without a quest for a throne or total domination?
Pairings: Loki x OC

Delilah looked up from the mountain of paperwork her new assistant had just piled onto her desk when she heard someone come in. Dressed impeccably in white, Pepper Potts strode in with a friendly smile on her face and a manila folder in her hand.
The mess in her office made her suddenly self-conscious, and she tried to straighten out the papers into what might vaguely resemble neat piles. "Pepper! To what do I owe the pleasure?"
"I hope I didn't interrupt anything too important," she remarked, eyeing the mess of files on the desk with a weary smile. "I just wanted to run something by you."
"Oh, not at all," she fibbed, but rectified when Pepper made a face. "You're giving me a good excuse not to obsess over the shambles that is the Receiving department." Lilah gestured a chair across from her. "Take a seat. What's on your mind?"
The redhead sat down with a plop, crossing her legs as she leaned back. "Well, I was talking to Tony last night and he gave me a suggestion that I am tempted to pursue."
Delilah rolled her eyes. This was not the first time the computer generated Tony had demanded one of his ideas be brought to fruition. "What did Ghost In the Machine have to say, now? As long as it's not the Starburst pool, again, I'm open to suggestions."
Pepper laughed. "No, though he still claims it will work. It was about Loki."
Not sure whether or not she should be weary, Lilah opted for keeping her expression neutral and clasping her hands on the desk in a pose she had taken from Loki. "Oh, what about Loki?"
"Well, he was going on and on about how good Loki was with dealing with Morgan– you know that she's super headstrong, like her Dad– and how all the other kids in the academy love him."
"Right," Lilah agreed, suspicious.
"Tony suggested I make him a permanent fixture in the Academy."
Delilah blinked in confusion, tilting her head curiously at Pepper. "Loki? You want him to, what? Teach seven years-old's how to fight?"
Pepper waved away the comment with a chuckle. "Of course not. I thought he could be part of the after-school program. He can watch kids, make sure they do their homework, keep them busy until pick up."
"You want to leave agents' children with the man who tried to take over the world? And you think the agents will go for this?" Lilah shifted uncomfortably. Despite the generally positive opinion of Loki in the current climate, it was insane to think people would purposefully hand their kids to the demigod.
"Tony thinks they will."
Delilah bit her bottom lip in thought. "OK, let me preface this with saying that I love Tony and I love working for this company, please don't fire me–"
"OK?"
"–but Tony is a fancy computer program," she finished cautiously, but Pepper didn't look offended.
"But is he wrong?" Pepper leaned forward, leveling her gaze with Delilah's. "Hon, last week I did rounds and found him finger painting with six other kids," she offered as an example. "He snuck into an art class to finger paint."
Delilah's smile widened on its own accord, feeling a small little bubble of affection burst within her. Loki Odinson, child of Asgard, son of Laufey of Jotunheim, softest villain in the realm and expert finger painter. "So that's where all those portraits came from," she remarked, thinking back on the half dozen brightly colored papers hanging on Loki's walls, attached there by knives. "He does genuinely love those kids, but he hates being told what to do. I can try to talk him around–"
"He already said yes."
Lilah was flabbergasted. "What?"
"I talked to him this morning over coffee," Pepper explained. "He accepted before I had even gotten the full offer out."
Delilah frowned, more confused than she had been at the mere suggestion. "Then why did you need to consult me?"
"He has demands."
She groaned and Pepper laughed. "Of course he does. Lay it on me. Million dollar salary? Private jet? More knives, for some fucking reason?"
"No. He's working minimum wage," Pepper said, matter-of-factly.
"Minimum? And he agreed to this?"
"He was the one who demanded it. I was ready to offer him a decent wage, because kids are difficult, but he said whatever the minimum was, he'd take it. Instead, he wants us to invest the extra money."
"In…?"
"A scholarship." Pepper waited for the shock to fade from Delilah's face. "For students who were in some way affected by the attack in New York."
The answer made her insides twist, not unpleasantly just curious. "Did he give any reason?"
"Just that he knew how much of a difference a scholarship could make and then made puppy eyes." Pepper smiled knowingly. "Could I just tell you how exceedingly bad he has it for you?"
"Only if you tell him, too. He seems to not have gotten the memo," Delilah retorted, drily. "You need me to write up his paperwork, I assume."
"Yes, and I have the scholarship projections here for you, too," Pepper offered, sliding the manila folder across the desk. "I might have given it an extra little boost, but don't tell him."
Delilah flipped through the documents, glancing at the details of the scholarship and how selection would work. "This is excellently thought out."
"He was pretty adamant about the criteria and I agree with his selection process. He was astoundingly thoughtful of the demographic he thought was most deserving." Pepper sighed. "I didn't think Loki had it in him, but lo and behold."
"Yeah, he's… something else." Despite the lukewarm expression, there was a definite flutter in her stomach. "I'll set all these up and forward you signed copies by tomorrow."
Delilah sighed, waving goodbye to Pepper before contemplating her afternoon. After a moment or two, she told her assistant that she'd be back later and disappeared into the puzzle-like hallways of the compound. Lilah turned the corner towards the living quarters when she was pulled into a nearby closet with a hand over her mouth. Had it been the first time this happened to her, she would have been worried, but as it were, her initial response was to grasp the lapels of the charcoal button-up shirt and tug the person until her lips were firmly upon theirs.
Loki made a pleased noise in the back of his throat, slipping his fingers through the belt loops of her jeans to tug her closer. "Hello, darling," he whispered against the hollow of her throat before he placed an open mouthed kiss there.
"I love you, Lo," she said both abruptly and breathlessly, but the words tugged the corner of his mouth upwards, instantly.
Loki chuckled, skimming his mouth over her neck before stopping to press a kiss to her jaw. "I knew it was a good idea to steal you away," he quipped, easily, completely glossing over the fact that this was the first time she had ever said the words. He bent to kiss her proper, both his hands cupping her face, thumbs brushing her cheekbones. "I know you do, you fool. Just as I love you." He rested their foreheads together with a sigh. "I brought food and set up the chess board at mine. Would you like to join me for lunch?"
"Are you asking me out on a date? How very forward of you."
"Forward would be saying that I plan on putting you up on my table for dessert. Though, it is implied." He grinned impishly and tugged on her beltloops. "I hope these are quick to take off." He kissed the wide-eyed expression on her face away. "Too strong?"
"No, I just… I didn’t think I'd enjoy you saying that." Lilah said the words as she shuddered the sensation off.
"Mmm, shall we skip straight to dessert, then?" Loki leveled his gaze at her, brushing locks of hair out of her eyes. "Or do you want to discuss Pepper's offer for the next four hours like I know you want to?"
"No! I mean… I think it's great that you took the job." She replied with a little hesitation. Delilah could already see the protest brewing in his eyes the second she opened her mouth.
"But?" Loki asked, knowingly. "Out with it."
"I'm just overprotective and don't want to see you get hurt for doing a good deed."
"They're very small, I can probably drop-kick them into orbit–" He joked, mimicking punting a small child in the tight space.
"You know what I mean. Don't play with me."
He hummed deep in the back of his throat and twined his arms tightly around her. His lips found her crown in a tender display before he buried his face into her hair. "You are a truly extraordinary specimen." Delilah huffed and he made a show of kissing away her pout and nipping her bottom lip. "I mean it in the most respectful and complimentary of ways." When she did not respond, he squeezed her further. "I am deeply honored that you would think a wretch like me important enough to warrant your protection. I love you so dearly for it."
Delilah sighed, hugging him around his middle so tightly it made his ribs ache. "I don't like people messing with my stuff!"
"Your stuff? Am I all of a sudden your stuff?" Loki husked, rubbing lazy circles on her back.
"When have you not been my stuff?"
He held her arm's length away, wolfish grin twisting his lips. "By the Norns, where have you been all my life? Deliciously possessive, clever, and gorgeous? I've died and gone to Valhalla."
"And yet you only kiss me in dark janitor's closets."
"This and accepting impromptu job offers are the only way to catch you unawares." He nuzzled into her hair. "Plus, we've always done particularly well in the dark."
She hummed her agreement, her head resting against his chest where she tucked herself under his chin. "Pepper mentioned something else," Lilah started, tentatively. "About letting your bracelets off on a trial basis."
"And you didn't mention anything about already fitting a felon with counterfeit manacles, I assume?"
Delilah bit her lip, looking guiltily down at her shoes. "I didn't. I might need to switch them right before Pepper decides to grant you a leave. Is that OK?"
"Would it be OK for you to put on the manacles you meant to keep on me back on so that you can take them off again?" He chuckled. "You realize how mad that sounds?"
"I don't want to get us in trouble!"
"That'd be fine." Loki kissed her forehead. "Except I already told Pepper about the manacles, oh, six weeks ago. She was probably trying to get a rise out of you."
"Six…that's nearly the time you've… Seriously!?"
"I didn't trust myself around you, and I wanted security in case–" Delilah silenced him with a kiss. He chased her lips with a contented purr. "Dessert?" She nodded and he made quick work of opening the door and shoving them both down the hall, giggling like schoolchildren as they rushed towards Loki's flat.

Tumblr media
before i was a liar, i was something else.  cast out.  out of kingdoms.  families.  universes.  again.  and again.  and again.
Tumblr media
trigger warnings for death, murder, suicide, abuse, trauma, & cannibalism.
(  nat wolff, diana silvers.  unknown, physically twenty-three.  he/him, they/them, she/her.  )   everything’s fine,  LOKI LAUFEYSON,  you’re in the good place!  do you remember your last days in  MARVEL COMICS? but don’t worry, your  ( stories told around a fire, the green glow of magic, & black nailpolish )  will fit perfectly with the rest of the good place, so long as you commit to the  GOOD KING  despite your tendency to commit to  ( insecurities )  that the architect of the good place said you were. it’ll just be like a fun acting exercise! just play along and everything will continue to be fun.
so.... i’m going to assume we all know who loki is, yeah?  the norse god of mischief, (adoptive) brother of thor, prince of asgard, etc.  that’s all true to this loki, but if you’re only familiar with the mcu, there will be differences as i write a strictly comics/earth-616 based loki !
spoilers for most comics loki’s appeared in since 2010ish, but mostly loki: agent of asgard, thor (2018), war of the realms, and loki (2019).
stats can be found here.
BIO
i’m going try and speed through the first portion of this bio seeing as like.... loki’s technically died multiple times and been reincarnated (....basically), and i write the current, third incarnation of them.  so i’m only going to briefly mention the important stuff from the previous incarnations.  and if any of this is confusing, 1) i’m sorry, and 2) i know.
original loki.
son of laufey, the king of jotunheim.  laufey was (physically) abusive to loki.  loki wound up getting taken / being adopted by odin and freyja.  loki is fully aware of being adopted, and that he’s not an asgardian and is in fact a frost giant.
he, at some point, went back in time and brutally murdered laufey for being abusive (and also messed with things and basically manipulated the events that led to him being adopted).
he did some really messed up stuff, wound up being known as the god of evil rather than the god of mischief.  hated being defined by that, ends up trying to change but kinda sorta died.
kid loki.
loki wound up being reincarnated, as a child.
he’s... the loki that could have and should have been?  he’s.... great.  if loki were a true hero.  he used his tricks for good, tried to help people.
but literally no one trusts him because he’s the reincarnation of, yknow, the god of evil.
he’s being haunted by an echo/ghost of the original loki, a magpie known as ikol.
long story made short, ikol basically manipulates kid loki into dying.
ikol kills kid loki and steals his body.
and here we are, at the third loki - the specific one i write.  they’ve just committed the “crime that will not be forgiven”.  absolutely no one but loki themself knows about this.
they join the young avengers, trying to steal billy kaplan’s powers.  but things don’t go at all as planned, and they leave the team behind after somewhat helping fix the mess they had created.
they wind up working for the allmother (freyja, idunn, and gaea) in an attempt to redeem themself, to make up for everything they’ve done wrong in the past.
it goes... poorly, given that king loki - a loki from the future - shows up and promises the allmother that asgard will be everything they want, all for the low price of loki being the eternal villain.
loki, understandably, is less than pleased about this, and eventually through a whole lotta shit happening, the truth about kid loki comes out.
queue the trauma conga line! 1) thor tries to kill loki, can’t bring himself to do it.  still breaks loki’s arm and knocks out a tooth. 2) the asgardians declare loki to be worth no more than the dirt under their feet. 3) freyja banishes loki and sends them into exile. 4) odin gives them some very dubious life advice, and then sets them on fire.
king loki explains to loki exactly why loki will always be the villain, why they will never be accepted or loved or wanted.
it’s because they’re the god of lies, and no matter how much good they do, how can anyone trust someone with that for a title?
they get sent to “the metaphorical space.  the place we lokis always go for the final act.” and have a lovely conversation with the original loki and kid loki who basically....
og loki tells ikol that they have to accept that all they will ever be is the villain, while kid loki offers ikol the option of dying, of killing themself.  and that’s it.  loki’s lot in life is to either be a villain or to die.
but, because they have an amazing best friend (verity willis) who talks them off either ledge, they choose the third option: a happy ending, redefining who they are because they don’t have to be what anyone else tells them they have to be.
because stories?  stories are lies that people want to hear, lies that people love.  and loki winds up becoming the god of stories, instead of staying the god of lies.
it makes more sense in context.
but it’s not about loki wanting to be accepted by others, not really.  when odin says that loki is finally thor’s equal and that loki’s worthy, loki basically tells him to fuck off.
because see... loki’s arc is about them accepting themself and learning to love themself, and less about them actually being accepted by others.
but because this is loki nothing’s ever good and happy for long.
laufey’s back from the dead, and loki’s tasked with working with him to be a double agent for asgard (even though technically loki’s still in exile ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ )
shit keeps happening.
more shit happens.
then war of the realms !
during this time..... laufey finds out that loki’s a double agent and.... he eats loki.
yes, you read that and my trigger warning for cannibalism correctly.  i wish i was joking or lying about this, but i’m not.
loki has a sword and cuts their way out of laufey’s stomach, killing laufey in the proccess.  and in doing so becomes the king of jotunheim.
they do not want that throne.  they don’t want any throne, really.  they would gladly abdicate, but thor, who’s the allfather by this point, won’t let them.
none of the frost giants want loki as king, either but ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
a bit more shit happens.
they wind up locked in the raft, a maximum security prison built to contain super-powered criminals.  however, loki can still use magic in their cell because they’re apparently not really a villain, and therefore the raft’s rules of neutralizing super villains powers can’t hold any sway over them.
loki winds up breaking out of the cell because they can and that’s what they do.
and here’s where i break from canon and into the rp.
there’s fighting over the throne for jotunheim, and loki eventually wound up getting killed as a result.
the fake life presented to them is something along the lines of if loki hadn’t ever died before and was like kid loki (ie, good but through less than good means) the whole while.
EXTRAS
loki prefers being referred to as laufeyson/laufeysdottir over odinson/odinsdottir but will reply to either.  they ultimately prefer no patronym be used at all, though.
their memories are... jumbled.  they don’t remember everything from past lives, and they have memories of events that have never actually happened.
here in The Good Place™ loki 1000000% feels like they don’t belong.
partially because of how many times they’ve died and come back to life, like.  they reckon they aren’t going to stick around very long.
partially because this seems too much like an alternate reality version of valhalla, and they know that’s not where they’d end up.
and partially because like... they’re a norse god.  this isn’t one of their afterlifes.  this is something else, and loki doesn’t know what to make of it.
they’re a resident of colohuara.
read their wiki pages they’re more cohesive than this is lmao.  og loki + kid loki + ikol
i’m so sorry about how long this got.  if you read through all of it, i love you and owe you my life.
if anyone would like to plot, just throw me a dm !!!

Andsvarr sat on the end of his cot, face in his hands to hide his embarrassment and his rage. Moments before, his father had stormed out in a fury, after bursting in and, in front of everybody, causing a huge row. Someone had informed him that Andsvarr had been removed from the honor of a room in the royal chambers, and relegated back into the barracks with the commoners. Someone had told him that you were now in that room, and Alarr, ever ready to find insult to him and his, had drawn some unflattering conclusions. Andsvarr had naturally tried to defend you honor, after all, he knew you; his father did not. All it had led to was a wrathful argument, and a disturbance of the relative peace of the barracks.
He would hear about all the lost sleep later, no doubt.
                                                                    *****
You were dressed and eating breakfast when Loki knocked on your door, and you bid him enter without any hesitation. He sat quietly at the foot of your bed, waiting to be acknowledged, which was very different for him, and you deliberately took a few more bites before saying anything. You weren't actually all that angry with him anymore, and after this week or so to yourself, just thinking and doing new things, you weren't all that frightened anymore either. Brunnhilde had told you that regular exercise could help with depression and anxiety, and she may well have been right. You felt strong now.
Loki was dressed rather fancy today, in a golden chest plate that was probably actually nornbein. It was covered in intricate scrollwork, matched to his bracers and greaves. He even wore his horns, though these were more of a crown than a helmet.
“You clean up nice.” You teased. “What's the occasion?”
“You are, my dear. I am taking you to see the History Hall, and it is being made into an Official Visit.”
So that was why your dress was more lavish than usual today. This one even had some beads sewn onto it, and the strings between the oval strap-brooches were no longer braided yarn, but strings of glass beads. Your sash was, again, no longer braid, but a length of embroidered cloth, with a buckle in the shape of a tail-biting snake.
“How Official, are we talking?”
“Oh, it's basically an inspection. That way, we will have the entire place to ourselves, and it will be sure to be in top shape. Afterwards, the king requests both our presences in the main throne room. This will also be very Official, if somewhat informal. It is to discuss your future: what you want, what we can offer, what it all means for you. So that you no longer have to be unsure of where you are going, or what to do with yourself. Does this sound acceptable?”
You nodded. “Yeah, I think that'll be really helpful. I like the room, by the way. It actually looks like someone lives here.”
“That is exactly what I was aiming for.” Loki said proudly. “If you would like, we can go into town, and I can take you to the shops, to get yourself some things. Toiletries, books, whatever you want.”
“I noticed that my mythology book has gone missing.”
“I removed it. It was full of misinformation, and it distressed you. I hope you don't find this too disagreeable?” He seemed to be actually apprehensive about your reaction; though his expression hadn't changed, there was a tenseness around his eyes.
“I'm not angry about that, if you're worried. I'm more...embarrassed by it all.” Finished with your meal, you stood nervously, and he echoed your actions. “I should have asked. I should have tried to find out if any of that was true or not, and instead I acted like...like that. I'm sorry, Loki. I'll always ask, from now on.”
You glanced up at him, entreating forgiveness, to find that he was not looking directly at you, but a little to the side. He held his arms slightly open, just far enough that you could fit between them. So that was his answer.
You stepped in and hugged him.
“There are many things I should have asked as well.” He admitted. “I was so sure I had everything under control. But you are a human, accustomed to a different life, and a different culture, with life experiences that I have no parallel for. I should have asked for your opinions, your thoughts. I didn't treat you like a person, and for that I...I also apologize. Going forward, let us not fear to speak to one another. Let us help each other to...Help each other.”
You looked up at him. He glanced down at you.
“It sounded better in my head.” He muttered.
“Loki Silvertongue, master of eloquence.”
“Now see here-” He mock-scolded, interrupted by knocking at the door. The two of you separated immediately, and Loki sighed heavily. “Yes, enter.”
Andsvarr peeked in. “Your Highness? A missive from the king.” He handed Loki a folded piece of paper, smiled and waved at you, and then took his leave.
Loki scanned the paper. “Hm. It looks as if we must rearrange our activities for the day. My brother wishes to see us first thing. The museum must wait for later in the day. Shall we?”
He offered his arm, and you took it.
                                                                         ******
The main throne room would soon deserve a better name, if the half-finished grandeur around you was any indication. There would be murals on the walls and high ceiling, several of them already sketched out and the painting begun. There would be tapestries or weavings, though right now, there was only one. It looked like there would also be ornate light fixtures, and perhaps some kind of mosaic on the floor. It was going to be very impressive, but for now, it simply felt like a construction zone.
One that, you noticed with gratitude, had been swept scrupulously clean.
Thor looked much more serious than you were used to, clothed in his own finery; silver and red. He too, wore a crown-like version of his helmet, shining wings framing his lengthening hair. To your surprise and confusion, he wore a golden eyepatch; something you had never seen him in.
“What happened?” You whispered.
“Oh, it's just eyeball maintenance day. The old thing needs regular cleaning and tune-ups.”
“I am suddenly thirteen times more nervous than I was before, thank you.”
“He has a mechanical prosthetic eye. Ha, did you think it was heterochromia?”
“After this, I'm going to go find a dictionary, look up that word, and then hit you with it.”
“The word, or the dictionary?”
“Step forward.” Thor commanded sternly. Your spine straightened. Oops. Probably should not be gossiping about the king, in front of the king.
The two of you crossed the rest of the gap between you and Thor, following the narrow strip of carpet all the way up to the stepped dais that held the throne. It was just a large and sturdy chair, nothing all that fancy. It didn't look very comfortable, but it did have a compartment on one side that held Stormbreaker. You wondered how often the King of Asgard needed a weapon in his own throne room.
“Loki Odinson, Aesir, Crown Prince of Asgard, Former King of Asgard. Heir of Ice. Spear of Ragnarok, Defender of Asgard. God of Mischief. Slayer of Laufey, Who Avenged the Queen, Foremost Seidmader, Secret Defender-”
It went on and on, a litany of Loki's names and accomplishments, spoken in a sort of sonorous almost-chant that reverberated off the walls.
“-Who is this that you bring before me? Present your petitioner to me.”
“I am pleased to present to you _____ ______, Native of Midgard, Bearer of the Sapphire Rune, Ax-Thief, Blade-Thief, Novice Sorceress, Survivor. Provider of Bread. Baker of Cinnamon Rolls.”
Wow, he had really liked them, hadn't he?
“I petition that she be appointed Seidkona to myself, that she may add her service to me, and that we may stand stronger together.”
“And why should I grant this appointment? State your reasons.”
Thor still sounded stern, but you could see the twitch of a smile on his lips, from the cinnamon roll comment.
This must all be some kind of special rite. Not only had Loki not lost an ounce of his noble posture under Thor's seeming 'doubt', but he seemed to expect it. Neither of the two had acted so formal before, but this ceremonial act must simply be the way these things were done, for the two of them to be so perfectly well-versed in the proceedings.
You, however, didn't quite know what to  expect. Thor wouldn't really refuse this, would he? Depending on Loki's answer? This was all already planned. But maybe this was all necessary to make it really official. Like a baptism for someone who has already converted, or a second interview.
“First, and also foremost: I have, one way or another, the right by birth, to gather a proper retinue of advisors and attendants. The Seidknona is among the most important of the advisory positions, and I feel that _____'s fresh and outside perspective would be most valuable in navigating life on this planet.
As a human who is learning Asgardian magic, she will be an important bridge between our peoples, and as an individual with a unique, personal connection to myself, it would be well for me to keep her close, and heed her.
And thirdly, I have an obligation to her, and her care. I have pledged to provide for her, and that includes more than just food, clothes, and shelter. It includes pastimes and opportunity, education and career. All of this can be wrapped up in this single appointment, one I am owed by blood, and one she is owed by word.”
“All noted. And you, _____ ______, what do you say on your own behalf?”
Your turn? What could you say that Loki hadn't? What made you worthy?
“Um, well. I stole your ax right out of your hand, and I'm only going to get better. Also, I'll make you more cinnamon rolls.”
Loki actually broke posture to glance sharply down at you. “You too.” You reassured him.
Thor broke the same, by laughing. “A bargain! I agree! Now, I'll just need you both to sign this and it'll be official...” From behind the compartment that held Stormbreaker, he retrieved a large book, and a wooden box. The book was full of runic writing, which you could not read yet, but when Loki signed, you could almost make out his name.
“Do I...Should I...”
“English is fine.” Thor said.
“But what does it say?” You wouldn't sign until you knew nothing objectionable was hidden in the runes. You were pretty sure Thor wouldn't lie about that. “Sorry if that's rude.”
Loki was smiling. “Suspicion is freedom, my dear. Always trust that first, for as long as it takes to find the answers. But do try to find the answers. Suspicion alone will not inform you.”
“You just don't want to get punched in the face again.”
He shrugged. “That part wasn't so bad.”
Thor cleared his throat. “This is merely fancy writing that boils down to your official appointment to Seidkona-in-training, giving you permission to exercise the powers and privileges of that title, and securing your agreement to fulfill the duties of the office. I'll have a translated copy delivered to you, if you would like.”
“Before or after I've signed? I mean, if I sign, and then I find something disagreeable in the copy, then-”
“Then you may use the power of your office to dispute it.” Thor said.
You looked between the two of them. “I can do that?” It hadn't occurred to you that you could fight back against the king.
“Of course. This isn't actually an absolute monarchy, no matter how much it functions like one. We do have a constitution, and it allows for a wide range of legal protections, up to and including the right to take legal action against my person.”
“Oh. Well. All right.” There was a lot you had to learn, and all of it as soon as possible. You signed, just hoping that you really knew what you were doing.
“There are also a few other documents for you to sign, if you wish.” Thor flipped the page. “This one grants you Asgardian citizenship. I can't do anything about Icelandic citizenship; that'll have to be a separate thing, if you want it. But this guarantees that the rights and privileges of an Asgardian citizen belong to you, that you are subject to our laws, our justice, and out protection. With this, you can't legally be removed from New Asgard without your or my permission.”
That sounded just fine. You signed the page without hesitation.
“And this one transfers legal responsibility for you from Loki, to myself.”
You glanced back and forth between them. “I don't understand.”
“It is a failsafe to secure your quality of life.” Loki explained. “Since you will be appointed to me, and spending a great deal of time with me, we might...get on each others nerves, you might say? This agreement forbids me personally from issuing you any form of punishment that might effect your life. I will not be able to banish you, have you detained or imprisoned, have you removed from your lodgings, nor contained within them. I will not be allowed to issue physical punishment, nor deprive you of any necessities of life or happiness, nor rescind any gifts or privileges previously offered. It even specifically states that I may not use magic for any of these purposes either. The responsibility for all of that falls upon Thor, and I must expressly seek his permission for any of it. Which I am unlikely to do over some petty squabble.”
“You agreed to that?” You asked, shocked at the amount of power over you that he was giving up.
He raised his chin. “I suggested it. I cannot have a Seidkona who tiptoes around me as if there is glass in her shoes. You must not fear to speak. I will still be responsible for your safety and your keeping, but he will be responsible for your legality.”
You signed without another word.
Both brothers looked immensely pleased. You were sure you did too: this took a great burden of worry from your shoulders, after all. Loki's power over your living conditions had been a source of anxiety for you from day one, but now he had willingly given up all that power. He hadn't even been forced to do it!
“From now on, you will be spending a great deal of time with me.” Loki said. “You will need to shadow me, be beside me at all times, watch and learn from me. You'll be learning the language, the history, and I will be more attentive to your magical training. I know this sounds a bit overwhelming, worry not; I won't pile too much on you at once. And you have proven to be a swift learner. I have every confidence that you will pick things up with all speed.”
That was very gratifying to hear, considering how borderline insulting he had been in those first few days of knowing him. Though, come to think of it, he had never cast any real doubt on your intelligence.
“And you'll be getting a stipend as well, so you needn't worry about being entirely reliant on me. You'll be able to resume what hobbies you have. Do you use a cellphone? We can get you one of those as well, should you require it.”
“Actually that would be really useful!” You brightened even more. A real job, education, companionship, some of the trappings of actually existing within a society...This was what you needed, to feel like you were a functional member of a community.
As a vacation, this whole situation had been terrible. But as a new life opportunity...
It had potential.

The Ball
This for soft Thor day! Which @allthingsthorki and @thors-soft-cheeks created!
A scene taken from my Jotun Thor WIP, which I briefly explain here, (Except Thor is more like 8ft tall). It is from halfway through where Thor is falling for Loki set during a ball in honour of the negotiations that Loki must open. I hope there is enough soft Thor here to count! :)
Loki spots Thor at once when he enters the hall, he stands with his brother and father. He is wearing a more formal loin clothe, it has embroidery, but it is in no way as elaborate as his brother’s or father’s, all three are wearing armour that covers their sword arm and shoulder, but again Thor’s is not half as expensive. Loki ignores how this irritates him, how Thor stands behind his brother's instead of next to him also irritates him. But he soothes it, he needs to be calm and charming otherwise this will not go the way he wants. Loki crosses the room, talking to men and women alike, who all hope that he will choose them to open the dance with, but something he knows that no one will have thought of is that as he cannot open the dance with the Crown Prince, the next person it should be is Thor, and he can dance with Thor. He reaches the other royal family, as Odin and Frigga do, so he has the advantage of his own family with him. He catches Thor’s eyes and smiles, Thor at once looks away. Loki looks away and bows to King Laufey, “With your permission King Laufey I would open the dance with your son,” he says. There is dead silence in the group, “I should be offended by your mockery Odinson,” Laufey says voice cold, Loki straightens up, giving Laufey the most innocent expression, “Quite the contrary King Laufey, I would not wish to offend you by passing over Prince Thor,” he says trying to sound as genuine as possible. Laufey’s eyes narrow, “How courteous Prince Loki,” he says voice tight. He clearly hates the idea of his son having any type of spotlight, but the King realises what a great offence it would be to refuse, especially with Frigga and Odin right there. “Of course you may, Thor,” he says turning his head to Thor, he doesn’t bother hiding his irritation. Thor steps forward.Loki looks at Thor and Thor looks horrified at this turn of events, Loki strides over and takes Thor’s hand, kissing it as he bows, his father and brother make choked noises as Loki performs the Jotun courting gesture. Loki looks up from under his eyelashes and sees the purple flush on Thor’s full cheeks, “May I have this dance Prince Thor?” he asks softly. Thor swallows, “Yes Prince Loki,” he responds. Loki can see the conflict in Jotun’s eyes, stuck between his growing affection towards Loki, and the fact that for Loki’s every sweet gesture his family become angrier. Loki stands, keeping his hold on Thor’s hand and leading him onto the dance floor, people part as they realise what is happening, all over the hall people whisper. They reach the centre of the floor and turn to face each other. Loki smiles up at Thor and he places his hand on the curve of Thor’s waist, sliding it around so his palm is against Thor’s back and his thumb rest of that wonderful curve, he pulls them closer, and can almost feel as Thor’s breath catches.“How will you even lead?” Thor whispers, Loki smiles up at him. “Don’t worry Thor, I will not embarrass us,” he promises. The use of just his first name makes the flush deepen. Loki nods towards the orchestra, and the music starts. The dance starts simply, steps back and forth together, eyes locked. As he is on the battlefield Thor, is graceful, and Loki has no doubt, that despite the size difference, they will leave everyone in awe. They turn in a similar manner, perfectly in sync. Their arms become involved, Loki’s under Thor’s guiding it up and down as he regretfully has to let go of Thor’s waist with his other hand. They dance continues and Loki relishes the almost unbroke eye contact, as they approach the first under arm spin Loki feels Thor tense, but he effortlessly skywalks up two steps in time with dance, so Thor easily spins under his arm, their eyes meeting for a second, Thor looking shocked at the casual way he performs the advanced magic in order just to dance with him. Loki smiles back fondly as he steps back onto the floor as the dance continues. “We should swap out the lifts,” Thor says softly as the come up to the first one, Loki smiles, there are indeed other moves to swap out the lifts with, but he will not. “No I shall skywalk up and little, and you, you shall trust me to lift you, Thor,” he says softly, thumb caressing the curve of Thor’s waist. The flush that had faded returns in full force, but he doesn’t disagree. The lift arrives as Loki indeed skywalks up and performs the lift, lifting Thor fully off the ground and spinning him half around before gently setting him down, the crowd gasp and clap. Thor and Loki flow so well together for this first dance. There are no missteps, no fumbled lifts, it is perfect, perfect when they stand at the end, staring into each other's eyes, only a little out of breath. Loki wants Thor as he has never wanted anyone else, Thor moves to step back, “Stay and dance,” Loki requests, Thor’s soft round cheeks turn purple again, “But my father,” he whispers, “You’re father know not what he speaks about when it concerns you, I could have passed over you, I chose not to, because I see your value Thor,” Loki says as the music fades out. Thor looks conflicted, as others start to join the dance floor, many wanting to try and dance with one of them. So Loki shifts his grip on Thor, it to the submissive position for the next dance, “You lead,” he says as there are a few disappointed sighs. Around them, everyone couples up, and Thor stays. The music starts, and now that they are not the center of attention they can talk, “Has anyone told you how captivating you are Thor?” Loki asks softly. Thor’s cheeks flush more, how Loki loves the purple tint, how he wishes to see it elsewhere.“I am not-” Thor starts, but Loki cuts him off, “I did not ask for your own opinion, I asked if anyone has told you how captivating your curves are?” he asks. Thor is rendered speechless, “Because they are Thor, every single one of them, the curves of your waist and hips, the curve of your stomach that I miss so much when you wear your loin clothe at the waist as you do now, the curves of your thighs, with a soft layer of fat that hides so much power, the curve of your pecks, so utterly tempting to reach out and touch,” he praises, “But we aren’t meant to look like that unless we are with child,” Thor protests, clearly embarrassed, “Are you not god of fertility? As you told me yesterday, you should treasure every curve as a sign of your power,” he murmurs. Thor looks away, “What power? It is useless,” Thor states. Loki raises an eyebrow, “You realise normal rain does not bring a place like Jotunheim back to life so well? It is the magic of fertility in you that makes everything more fertile, easier to grow,” he praises. Thor looks shocked, “No Father said-” he tries.“Your Father belittles you and undermines you constantly, why he tell you that you have such power?” Loki points out. Thor swallows, “What do you have to gain from it?” he asks voice low and suspicious, Loki smiles up.“I wish for the person who I marry to be as powerful as I,” he states, Thor’s eyes widen, “I know what kissing you hand means Thor, I know what bringing you furs mean, this is no mistake,” he promises. “But why, I am a runt and I am not the heir,” he protests voice quiet but sharp. Loki grins, “You are utterly stunning, and if have anything to say about it, your birthright will be restored, you deserve it, you are owed it by Jotun law, even if you were the second son for repeatedly beating your brother in open combat,” he states.
Thor shakes his head, “No,” he whispers, “Why can you not see you I am worthless?” he asks. Loki sighs softly, “Because unlike your family I have prejudice, I see simply a kind, honest, brave, and utterly handsome Jotun, I would have you tonight, and all nights till the end of time if I could,” he states. Thor looks stunned. Loki brushes a kiss against Thor’s head when he is lifted,“Would you let me Thor?” he asks, “If I knocked at your window would you let me in?” his voice is low and hungry, “Would you let me pull off your clothes, see all of you, and make you feel incredible?”Thor is tongue-tied, he can’t speak for several seconds, and look at Loki with wide eyes, “No one has ever…” he trails off. “That simply makes my task all the more enjoyable Thor,” he murmurs. Thor’s pupils are wide as he looks down at Loki, “Will you let me in when I knock?” Loki asks. There is a moment where Thor seems lost before, “Yes,” he whispers, “I will,”***

LMAO BIRTH CONTROL ANON I love it lol that made me laugh this is my legacy now. Can I be BC anon except instead of Before Christ the letters actually stand for birth control skdjdj
BUT ANYWAY YES I HAVE SO MANY THOUGHTS AND THEORIES and this chapter made me think y/n is def pretty and here’s why!
basically the way I see it is you’ve said many times this fic is gonna have a super angsty ending and before this chapter I thought the angst was gonna be that y/n lied so there was a fight on top of the pregnancy scare but now I see I was wrong don’t worry I’ve got new theories now. So basically during the scenes from lokis POV (the would a child with me be so bad line KILLED ME btw like I had to stop reading for a second and just sit there like ow) reinforce that he’s thinking about how nice another kid would be both for him and for Narvi also and I know you said he doesn’t necessarily want a kid right now but now that the opportunity is there he’s thinking about it and even tho he felt bad about it he couldn’t stop himself from daydreaming and sharing those thoughts with y/n (the I’ve always loved the name Vali line also got to me bro my mythology obsessed ass goes crazy whenever u throw in a myth reference)
anyway her reaction made it clear that he was only making things harder for her! So basically I think what’s going to happen is that she IS going to be pregnant and while she of course doesn’t hate the idea of a kid with Loki she just can’t have a kid rn for various reasons! I think she’s gonna tell Loki this and he’s a wonderful supportive partner so of course he’s gonna be okay with it but the thoughts of her not wanting his kid are gonna eat away at him and make him doubt himself and her feelings for him and it’s gonna be so sad and I’m gonna cry! Anyway this was a lot my bad no need to confirm or deny anything I just had to respond bc asis is the only thing on my mind I need to watch some recorded lectures but I think I might just read the new chapter again aaaaaaa
ALRIGHTY BC anon it is 😆lol i love it.
okay! first, i do want to clarify: i don't think i've said asis has an angsty ending!!! i've said it has an angsty third act overall, but i've tried not to say what the ending would be like. i honestly thought it would be kind of obvious, but i need to remember you all are not in my head the way i am 24/7 (and y'all are lucky for that tbh). but yeah, i've never (intentionally) said or implied the ending specifically is angsty!!
that being said, let's get into your theory 😏 yes mr lokey's pov HURTED and writing that line... let's just say i had to apologize to loki for always putting him through it in my fics. and you're totally right, he doesn't want a child in that given moment, but he isn't opposed to having a kid with y/n overall. he's a single father, his entire life revolves around parenthood so the idea of his son (who has no friends!!) having a sibling AND that sibling coming from someone he is truly in love with is totally appealing to him. he knows it isn't necessarily ideal right now, but he still can't help but think about how nice it would be anyway. and he is conflicted over feeling that, and he made the poor decision to verbalize it at literally the worst time. AND YES OMG i love it when people catch those myth references so yayyy!!! tbh i wanted to switch it up and name narvi vali because i think the name vali SLAPS but that felt wrong in a way lol. like i wouldn't be faithful to the source material or something.
you're right, loki has made it clear he will support her no matter which decision she makes (that is... IF she is pregnant hehe). he means that, too. i can definitely see why your theory is that he internalizes this idea that she doesn't want HIS kid specifically, because asis loki has SO much self hatred that's still instilled in him from laufey and odin. i mean, that was literally confirmed in this chapter. loki logically knows it isn't him, but he feels that it is. once someone starts thinking that way, it's really hard to help them out of that hole.
overall, i think you're paying attention and making some good ~educated guesses~. we'll see if they're true in two weeks 😏
also BC anon, my thoughts are with you. literally the only thing worse than a lecture is a recorded lecture 😩you got this get that education get that degree we're all in this weird pandemic-ified college experience together <3

Part 33 - Truth

Your POV...
"Let's make some rules, before I start. Okay ?", I asked them all.
They all nodded.
"Okay rule number 1: Don't freak out. Number 2: Laufey...don't hide your emotions. We are all showing our emotions. Number 3: Nobody attacks somebody, except me. Number 4: Do not interrupt me, while I tell. Number 5: Don't start a war, because of it.  Got it ?"
They all nodded. I sighed again.
"I will need to make a little catch up here, before I start my story...or else no one except Laufey and me will know about what we're talking about. Are you, Laufey, okay with that ?"
"I am."
"Okay...So about what we talk about is a little...complicated. You all know about the war in Jotunheim and that the Asgardians took the casket away from them. But did you ever knew Laufeys actual intentions ? The answer is no. You don't. I was alive once. I lived in Asgard and was a General. Odin never told you about me, because I didn't want him to. I came back 3 times already. Which means that I died 3 times also. One was against the Dark Elves, next was Hela and last was Jotunheim. Anyway, I was with Laufey’s Father best friends and so with Laufey later too. I knew his actual, true intensions. He was having a baby in about 3 weeks. 60% of this god for saken planet is filled with monsters and beasts. So Jotunheim was pretty small actually. The Jotuns didn't really had much land to have much food and needed to starve. Women and kids got food, pregnant ones the most. Laufey was worried about his son. He would die at young age. I tried to find a solution...but found none. One day Odin planned to attack Laufey and take away the casket. And now...things get complicated...", I said.
I looked at Laufey, who looked at me confused as fuck.
"Odin didn't take your son away from you, Laufey. He didn't even planned it. It was...me."
I looked down.
"What ?!"
"Before you hate me, let me finish. It will make sense, I promise."
He sat back down.
"Then go on."
I nodded.
"I knew it will be painful, but it was the only way to safe him. I had a vision, where your son died at the age of 5 years, Laufey. The only way to safe him was to take him away. I was writing a letter, because I knew also, that no matter what I would try, I will get killed and I can't avoid it. In the letter stood:
'Dear Odin,
My King, if you go deeper into the temple, you will find something special. It is little and blue. Take it with you, please. It is such an innocent little sweet thing. Take it with you and raise it like your own. But please... when it is 6 or 7 years old, tell it the truth. Tell it, it is a Jotun. This is my last living wish of you. Please don't make me sad. Do this little thing a favour and take it with you. I will miss you all, but I hope I wil return one day.
~ Your beloved General
~ Destiny Andrea Dust ~'
I knew it was a bad thing but I had to do it. I went then to Frigga and told her my plan, she agreed and helped me, after I begged her to help me and your son."
I saw Laufey, letting tears fall down his face. I frowned and looked down.
"You don't need to cry. I am not finished yet. After I died, I came back, but didn't remember my previous lives before. As I was 5 years old I lost my parents and met your 6 year old son, the first time in my whole life. He is one week older than me. As he was eight years old and I was still seven I got banished. Some bad guys wanted your son, but I refused to kidnap him. Then I landed on Jotunheim. I found out that your son was a Jotun, he looks like an Asgardian. I was shocked as you told me about you and having a son. I just then put the pieces together, but I couldn't tell you, because I was scared that you will do something you may regret later. And after 342 years he came to Jotunheim. He is still alive, and he is here again, Laufey. He is well and healthy."
"Then who is my Son ?"
"His name is...Thor."
He stared at me in shock. I slowly smiled and giggled.
"Just joking. Your Son is Loki. Loki Odinson is in reality Loki Laufeyson. The pale skin was one hint, then the fact of some hot stuff, he didn't like hot things much. It burned him easily. And his skin is always cool."
He stood up, went to Loki and stared at him. He stretched his hand out to Loki and he grabbed Laufey's hand. It immediately turned blue. Laufey gasped and looked at the markings, he traced with his fingers along them. He hugged him tightly.
"I thought he killed you.... I thought I really messed up...", he whispered.
"There is the problem, Laufey. Odin told everyone that Frost Giants are monsters. Loki is confused of who he is now. He hates himself as Jotun."
Laufey let go of him.
"Odin is such a liar. But...Loki can chose who and what he wants to be. I will hold back my selfish needs. He can make a choice. He can be Asgardian, Jotun or both. I can show him what Jotuns can do. I could at least try to repair some damage.", he said.
"I have one more thing..."
"What is it ?"
"I start an alliance. I need Jotunheim. I need you, Laufey. I am planning on getting Odin out of the throne. He isn't trustworthy. He didn't change one bit."
Laufey scoffed.
"When did he ever even try to change ?"
"I...I don't know..."
"That's what I thought."
"Hold on.", Thor and Loki both said.
We turned around and they looked at me, I nodded.
"You may speak.", I said softly.
"What did you mean with change ? What is the big deal that you need to kill father ?", Thor asked with Mjolnir in his hand.
"We should tell him, Dest.", Laufey said.
I sighed.
"Thor please sit down. We will explain."
He nodded and sat down again. Laufey started...
"Your father, Odin, is the true Monster. Before he played like 'I am the almighty Odin, protector of all Nine Realms', where you see he does a marvelous job in it too, he was the one who always started war and caused death. He had a weapon, he created it. Her name was Hela and he turned that innocent girl into a freak. A person who just caused chaos too. She was always at Odin's side. She and him killed just for fun."
"And as Frigga was fed up with him, she told him to stop or she will leave him. At first he didn't believe her and laughed, but as she packed her things... he realized that this wasn't a joke and he promised her to stop. But sadly someone didn't want to stop and that was...", I continued.
"Odin's little creation. He couldn't stop Hela. She was a psycho. She killed everything and everyone in her way, even the Valkyries. Not one survived. Hela killed them all without blinking even once.", he told with disgust in his voice.
"Somehow we managed to get her and Odin banned her to exile. She is just sitting and waiting. That's all she needs to do until she can get out."
"We all hated Asgard for that and even wanted Odin to give up the throne. But he refused. Since then Jotun and Asgardian aren't really close friends anymore, but Odin let Destiny still visit me. Like she was a part of some kind of truce.", Laufey said angry.
"After Frigga was pregnant with you, Thor, Odin changed a little. At least I thought so. But he was, or better still is, after something else.", I told them.
"And that is ?", Thor asked a little bit scared.
"Never heard of the Infinity Stones ?", Laufey asked.
I elbowed him.
"Ow.", he said.
"You should have shut your mouth.", I hissed at him.
"Sorry couldn't hold myself."
"Pardon me but...what are the 'Infinity Stones' if I may ask ?", Loki asked.
"Oohhh. Destiny you didn't teach him ? Well you're mean ! He is my son, he needs to know !", Laufey said.
I sighed. Again.
"Alright I will tell you. But stay put."

Title: Frigga’s Garden
Tumblr media
Loki knew there would be nothing there, but he had to return. It was important to him. But when he arrived at the coordinates that Asgard had once proudly stood, he was surprised to find… something. He didn’t know how to describe it, but it was what Thor’s little Midgardian friends might call a “snow globe in space,” whatever a snow globe was. It was just past the asteroids that would have made up Asgard.
He flew his one-man ship in and examined the snow globe more carefully. Would he be able to enter with a ship?
Was it even real?
He gave it a shot, descending carefully and slowly. The external atmosphere curved inward at the pressure from the ship, but didn’t crack and with a small shove from the engines, the atmosphere stuck to the outer hull. Glimmering transparent shielding started to cover the ship and Loki started to panic. Maybe this was a bad idea.
He tried to pull the ship up, but the shielding held tighter and moved faster soon, the ship was enveloped in it and pushed the ship into the snow globe.
With the ship freely floating in the atmosphere, Loki started to calm down. It was easier to see what was inside, and it looked like an enormous garden. A garden that looked mildly familiar.
He lowered the ship into the meadow and shut off the engines. Sunlight flooded into the ship as the door opened, brighter than he could see through the windows and he shielded his eyes as they adjusted. A few steps got him off the short ramp and onto solid ground. This was either an elaborate illusion that even he was not capable of, or this was a real place.
“Pardon me, but who are you and how did you get in?” asked a voice behind him. He whirled around to see a girl, you,  dressed in Asgardian clothing. Dirty, albeit, but Asgardian. Your face changed from stern to shocked. “Prince Loki, I was not aware you were coming.” You knelt out of respect.
“Rise. There is no need at this time.” He felt a mild jolt at those words, but he knew they were true as soon as they came out of his mouth. “What is this place?”
You stood up and dusted off your tunic and pants. “This is the Garden of Frigga. I was tasked with protecting this land after she died. She saved my life and it was only fair that I carry on hers.”
“How did it survive Ragnarok?”
“The gods deemed it land to be saved and cast protection around it. It survives because the love she gave survives. Because of that, those she loved are welcome here.”
“Is that how I was allowed entrance?”
“Yes, your Highness.”
“Please, Loki will do.”
As Loki looked at you, your youngness became more apparent to him. You were close to his age, he would have guessed. He could have sworn to the gods that he had seen your face before.
“I will show you the gardens, Loki. Please come with me.”
He fell into step beside you. “Pardon my asking, but were you around the castle when my mother was alive?”
“Yes. I was a Healer many years ago, and I still have the capabilities. Your mother saved me from an enslaved existence and I am doing what I can to repay her.”
“You are not Asgardian?”
“I am, but the war with the Frost Giants saw me kidnapped. Laufey had thought it funny to have an Asgardian slave that he could torture. Your mother found me herself after Heimdall Saw me and your father refused to risk his warriors to save a ‘Lost Child’ as he called me. I owe your mother everything.”
“Odin was not the sort of being to care much for the small details. If there was bloodshed, he tended to turn his blind eye on those problems. He only cared for what would benefit him.” By the end, Loki was practically spitting the words and you looked at him with empathy. He wasn’t certain he liked it, but as you knew that he could be cruel, he let it pass.
You two entered the gardens and Loki caught his breath. They were exactly as he remembered them, right down to the placement of the wildflowers Frigga had let grow in.
“You have done a spectacular job at preserving it. Thank you.”
“I am pleased you like it.”
He saw something in your eyes that he had not seen from someone in a long time and it was something he craved to continue seeing. But he realized that he had done many bad things. Did he, he wondered, even deserve to see it? Could he deserve someone?
“I realize this is a lot to take in,” you said. “Would you care to be alone to do so?”
“Yes,” he said immediately, then he stopped. Did he? “No. Would you stay?”
You nodded.
He paused, wondering how to ask what was on his mind. “I don’t believe I ever got your name, Healer.”
“Y/N,” you replied.
“Y/N. I need to ask you something important.”
You nodded, listening.
“How does one become deserving of being loved again?”
“Loki, this is the place to start brand new. As a loved one of the queen, I am certain she saw something in you that you have not shown in a long time. You just need to find it.”
He smiled, feeling a weight off of his shoulders. “Thank you.”
