It's got so much fluff, jegulus as well as wolfstar and black brother angst and it's delicious. While it starts out a little slow by chapter 5 I was hooked and I genuinely spent solid day just binge reading it. Honestly this fic deserves more love I'm obsessed.

I just read something so good my immediate reaction was to go to AO3 to read everything that the author has ever written before. There was only one thing there and it was 250k words but I committed to reading it before I even bothered to look at the plot.
THAT'S how good the one I just read was.
This is the one I just started with, Ghosted by lackadaisical_lizard on AO3 or @lackadaisicallizard on Tumblr which is human Remus and James being visited by spirits Sirius and Regulus, and it is so fucking funny. Starchaser and wolfstar. Two chapters posted so far. I don't usually recommend WIPs but this is just too good. Definitely worth the read and follow!

En Avant by bluerosebouquet oh my gooood. This one is *chef kiss*. Modern AU, James is trying to cope with losing Lily (reasons unknown) and raise Harry who's like 4 with the help of his whole friend group. Then Sirius gets a word that his brother Regulus is back in town and is really upset about it and refuses to make contact when Regulus passes on his phone number. BUT SURPRISE SURPRISE REGULUS IS THE BALLET INSTRUCTOR IN THE DANCE CLASS THEY SIGNED HARRY FOR! And James just can't see the monster Sirius made Regulus to be. (We learn all that Black Brothers Backstory in like chapter 23.) And they start talking, and James catches feelings, and he battles with the guilt of betraying Lily's memory as well as betraying Sirius and it's just really interesting, I love it.
Deep Blue Waters by ThatBlueNiffler Regulus gets himself sorted to Ravenclaw to escape his mother's machinations and not join the death eaters only for Grandfather Arcturus to be like "Sup kid you're going to become a Death Eater so that you can spy on them". slowburn Jegulus (they catch feelings pretty early on tho)

So I thought I’d start of this blog with some of my favorites!
The Long Game by lackadaisical_lizard (M, 243k) - British modern high school AU where James is the popular jock/ football star and Regulus is the quiet artist who couldn't be less bothered by status or popularity. They work on a project together. Pining ensues.
Librarian’s Review: I had originally set out to read this as a sort of fluffy side fic, but I quickly became obsessed with the well thought-out character building and phenomenal plot. My emotions have short-circuited. Absolutely one of the best things I’ve ever read, and guaranteed to make me smile and cry in equal measure.
my almost lover by alaranai (T, 23k) - Regulus and James are a couple. James is the last person to realise this.
Librarian’s Review: The characters in this are so spot on. I swear it was written by the marauders themselves. I’m so impressed with this author - they’ve somehow managed to write an adorable story that stocks with you even after you’ve read it a bajillion times.
love is not a predicate by mordax (M, 132k) - Regulus wants to be a classical pianist but can only bring himself to practice at night, and James has insomnia and finds music is the perfect cure. An exploration of Regulus's mind and struggle with the Black family, his journey to accepting himself, and his path to mending broken relationships, building new ones, and maybe, possibly, finding love. (circa 70s in a boarding school much like Hogwarts, only muggle)
Librarian’s Review: A truly outstanding angsty read. Regulus is so broody in this that I want to squish him (and possibly the author too). The world-building is so well woven into the plot that you don’t even notice it until you start being able to picture scenes as they happen.
Art Heist, Baby! by otrtbs (M, 219k) - When James Potter answers a mysterious ad in his local coffee shop, the last thing he expects is to be thrown into a world of white collar crime, but how can he resist when the mastermind behind the operation has dark hair and brooding eyes and promises wealth beyond James' wildest imagination? He would do anything for that boy named after a star, including stealing millions of dollars of fine art.
Librarian’s Review: Call me basic, but this fic is truly one of the pillars of the entire Jegulus fan-canon. It is a classic. Are you ready to be destroyed and left speechless in awe? Well saddle up buckaroo, because reading this for the first time (or even the 51st) will change you forever.
And in the Death of His Reputation He Felt Truly Alive by reggiesreputation (M, 79k) - Regulus Black is the biggest pop star on the charts, but when pictures of him kissing a man are splattered on every paper in the world, he is severed from his family's record label. He has lost his music, his home, and his reputation is in shambles. But with the help of producer Remus Lupin, his brother, and a gorgeous man he meets in a dive bar, Regulus Black will rebuild his reputation, write his best album yet, and maybe even fall in love.
Librarian’s Review: Ok, so I’m not exactly what most people would consider a Taylor Swift fan, so I thoroughly did not realize that this was partially about her until very far into the fic. It is really good though! I would check it out, simply because it will alter your worldview. 11/10 stars.

The Long Game

Alright so I finally finished my Jegulus fic.
It’s a high school modern au with football captain James and artist Regulus.
There’s also a theatre subplot.
Anyway here’s a snippet:
Regulus doesn’t get a chance to say anything before James thrusts his hand out, brandishing a black biro and looking at Regulus expectantly.
“Potter.”
“Yes?”
“That is a pen.”
“Correct, and you’re an artist.”
Yep. He’s definitely crazy.
“And you expect me to do what with a biro, exactly?”
“Um. Draw something?” James is looking at Regulus like he’s the crazy one. “I figured as an artist, you could draw with anything, right?”
“Okay, but what am I going to draw on, exactly? I’m good, Potter, but I’m not a wizard.”
“Fuck,” he says as he realises that he hasn’t thought his genius plan through.
“Looks like you’re just going to have to take my word for it. In any case, I should probably find Remus and go-“
“Wait!” James says as Regulus goes to stand up. He holds out his forearm and offers out the pen. Regulus looks at James.
“I’m not drawing on your arm.”
“It’s just as good as paper.”
“That is entirely incorrect.”
“How?”
“Well for starters, paper isn’t nearly this irritating to talk to.”
“You talk to paper?”
“Shut up, you know what I mean.”
James grins at him, “See, Regulus, you say you’re a good artist, and you also say that isn’t arrogant or cocky because it’s true. Well, I’m not sure if I believe you, honestly. I think maybe you are being arrogant, and you know that, but you don’t want to prove me right by drawing something subpar.”
Regulus knows what James is doing. He knows exactly what he’s doing, and so he is frustrated with himself more than anything when he grabs James’ arm with one hand and snatches the biro with the other.
He avoids James’ smug smirk.
It’s mostly fluff (and quite long), so check it out!
