Twilight finally steps into Loid Forger's home. It was late at night and he thought for sure that everybody was already asleep, save for Bond who might get overzealous and wake everyone up. But the moment he closes the door, a figure appeared through his vision.

It was Yor, putting away laundry. She put them down and walked over to Loid.

"Loid! You're finally back!" She says in quiet surprise. Bond circled around them.

Loid pat Bond's head who then went back to his spot right away. Then he turned to Yor.

"I'm home. Sorry, I'm very late... I must have made you worried."

"Uhm... No! It's okay... You must have been very busy at work. " Yor asked.

"Well..." Loid's voice trailed off.

If only she knows what this man just went through.

"Yes... I had a very tough patient I had to deal with." He finally said.

Yor's eyes went wide.

"Did you have another concussive session with a patient?! Did you get hurt anywhere?! Oh, look! You have bruises! Let's treat you! Sorry, I didn't notice right away. It's dim." Yor stared at him with obviously worried eyes.

Loid couldn't stare back at her, feeling that he might end up letting his guard down.

"N-No! There's no need for that. My bruises are not that bad. I'm just... really tired with dealing with my patient today."

"Do you want some tea before you rest?"

Loid was very ready to retire to bed and sleep away the pain of his arm's gunshot wound. But chances of peace with Yor are ever so rare that he willed himself to stay.

"Ah... Sure."

"Okay. I'll pour you a cup."

Yor seated herself beside Loid on the sofa. The closeness made Loid all tingly but in a very comforting way. For the most of time, they were silent. Then Yor gave repeated glances at Loid.

"Is there something bothering you, Yor?"

"A-Wha-What? Sorry! It's just..." Yor emptied her cup and placed it on the table before continuing.

"Seeing that you can get hurt like this for treating a patient... Are you still okay with it?"

Loid seemed to be caught off guard, he only stared right back at Yor.

"Don't you regret being a psychiatrist?"

The silenced prolonged. The question gave a deep impression to Loid, to Twilight. As if asking if he regrets being a spy.

"Sorry! That was rude of me to ask! I'm not even the one to speak. I'm really sorry! You don't need to answer that, Loid."

Loid also placed his own empty cup on the table. He leaned back and stared up the ceiling.

"No. I don't regret it. Even when I get hurt doing this proffession. Because it's something that I have decided a long time ago. So there's nothing else for me but to stick with it, even during the hard times."

Yor fell silent, her eyes glinting as if understanding Loid's words very well.

Loid closed his eyes and recalled right away what he just said. It was something he just blurted out but it's true. Not only for him, but also for everyone else who decided their own path.

He drew his head back, almost hanging to the side. His mind is in total disarray. His eyes fluttered open in time only to see Yor leaning over him. Too tired and slow to react, his mind suddenly went blank when he felt a kiss on his forehead.

"You did well." Yor said and sat back.

Her calm demeanor quickly turned into surprise, and she covered her face with her hands.

Loid fixed himself in an instant, sitting properly. He faced a very embarrassed Yor. Internally, he was just as embarrassed because of their proximity just now.

"N-No! It's not what you think it is! I just..." Yor said and waved her hands.

"C-Calm down, Yor! Speak slowly." Loid said with a similarly frantic gesture.

After a few breaths, Yor continued.

"My coworkers told me that... a... w-welcome home kiss is a common thing between couples. B-But I couldn't do it earlier and you're too tired from work so I... just wanted to comfort you instead." She said and shyly looked at Loid.

Loid took a deep breath.

"Thank you, Yor. And I'm sorry." He said.

"What? You have nothing to apologize! I'm... the one who should say sorry."

"I'm sorry because I..."

His words trailed off once more as his body started moving on its own. It was as if his arm was no longer in pain and reached out for Yor's face. In an instant, Loid closed off the distance and pulled Yor into a kiss.

It was a kiss that was warmer than the tea they just had. Loid closes his eyes and thoroughly felt Yor's lips, his hand gently holding the base of her head. Yor was wide-eyed for a second before she let herself be pulled in deeper. To her, this first kiss doesn't taste like lemon. It was the sweetest thing there ever was.

All thought is lost, only this moment remains. And perhaps, it's just what Loid really needed as a reward after a hard day's work.

His brows furrow.

"What is the meaning of this?"

When you mimic his displeased demeanour, he is almost sure that you are making fun of him.

Eyes narrowed, he stares at you for a while before sighing and bursting out into laughter, "You sure come up with the most random activities to have fun. It's cute."

Sure enough, you repeat his words.

"Hmmm? Why don't you follow me to my room and I will tell you about the latest activity I thought of? We can both take part in it and it won't be 'cute'," he smiles meaningfully.

ASMODEUS

"Awwww, you're such a cutie, trying to mimic my words!" he says. After a moment of pondering, he smiles seductively and coos, "I love love looove you, Asmo chan ♡.You are the brightest star on any stage! I swoon over your perfection, my lovely darling. Why don't you reserve all your hugs and kisses for me only? I want you all to myself! Oh, you are such a tease! Why do you leave me even for a moment? You are left speechless at the words he came up with on the spot. Since you didn't memoriese the words, you tried to satisfy him in your own way.

SOLOMON

He laughs at your antics and is amused to find you mimicking that sound too. When he narrows his eyes, you know that the cogwheels in his head are turning with some idea of its own.

"I am glad that I have a good teacher," he says coyly, waiting for you to reply. The smirk on his face makes you falter. You realise that irrespective of your reply, he will have his fun so you shrug and give up.

LUKE

When you stay silent, his smile widens. "Seems like your teacher taught you well. You know when to quit. Hahaha."

He blushes when he notices, his initial surprise fading away. Normally he would consider it rude but since it's you, he knows you're not making fun of him. So he's fine with it.

"H-Hey! Why are you repeating my words?"

"And the cute chihuahua says, 'H-Hey! Why are you repeating my words?'." you tease.

"I am NOT a chihuahua!" he pouts with hands formed in fists.

"I am NOT a chihuahua!" you bellow in an exaggerated manner and sulk.

Luke looks upset so you drop the act.

BARBATOS

He doesn't really react so you are left wondering if he even realised what you are doing.

"Barbatos, did you notice that I repeated the exact words you said? And copied your mannerisms too?"

"Why, yes, of course I did." he answers with soft laughter escaping his lips. " If I may take the liberty, allow me to say that I quite enjoyed it. And now, if you will quench my curiosity, why did you do so?"

His curious eyes fixed on you, taking you quite by surprise. "Eh... I was just having fun."

"Ah, I see. If it makes you happy, I will like to see you continue your endeavour."

A blush dusts his cheeks as he continues, "If I may be so bold, I will be really happy to know that I am the only one you mimic."

DIAVOLO

He finds the whole experience highly enjoyable.

"Oh, is this a human world game where you mimic the other's words? Hahaha I think this is an innovative way to bring people together."

The twinkle in his eyes makes you answer his question rather than continuing your prank. "Yes, it's really fun."

"Ohhhh? Is it my turn to repeat your words now?" he muses. Mirroring your actions, his voice echos, "Yes, it's fun."

You laugh at his seriousness so he joins you - half for the game, half because he wants to share the moment with you.

When Barbatos finds you two like that, he quickly exits. The sacred moment need not a third participant.

MEPHISTOPHELES

"I don't have time for this," he says when you stare at him for a while without speaking. "If you have something to say, say it."

He frowns when you repeat his words.

"Has the cold and lack of sun gotten to your head? You were the one who came to me."

He looks irritated when you mimic him again.

"I am a demon. I am used to the cold and lack of sun.... Ah I see. I read about a game like this in the human world. Why don't you find another victim, like Lucifer? I would love to know how he reacted."

The idea seems to please him so much that he starts daydreaming on the spot.

during one of your classes, your professor announced that you would be given a project to work on with one of your classmates and you were assigned to do the project together with shu.

after class, a guy with blonde and violet streaks in his raven-black hair walked up to you and introduced himself as your project partner. “hi my name’s shu, it’s a pleasure to be working on this project with you.” you smile and introduce yourself to him as well. you both exchanged numbers and arranged a time and place to work on your project, then you went your separate ways.

the day that the both of you agreed on came around and you were waiting in a café, working on your other school work while waiting for shu to arrive. after a few minutes, you hear someone plop down on the seat in front of you and you look up to see shu, panting slightly. he apologises to you with a sheepish smile, saying that his professor held the class back to brief them on an upcoming test. you smile and shake your head telling him that you understood.

when working on the assignment, shu was really patient with you. when you didn't understand certain instructions being given for the project, he would explain them to you in simpler terms which helped you understand them better. you’d bounce ideas off each other and once you’ve both decided on how you would go about doing the project, you both get to work.

you and shu would meet up regularly to work on the project and a month before the project was due, the both of you had already completed it. “woohoo! we’re done y/n! good job!” shu exclaims.

“yeah! we got it done so quickly too! it’s due in a month and we’re already done with it. thank you for guiding me through this whole project, i don’t know if i would be able to produce the same quality of work without your guidance.” you grin.

“nah that was all you, i just helped a little, that’s all.” shu chuckles.

“so um…” shu continues. “i really enjoyed working with you on this project and i was wondering if you would like to have regular study sessions together. since y’know we have majority of our classes together, it would be nice to study with someone.” he asks with a shy smile.

"oh of course! i'd love to!" you reply with a smile in return.

days and months ago by, both you and shu would meet up three to four times a week to study together. the study sessions became the highlight of shu’s week as he found himself looking forward to seeing you and hanging out with you every time.

during your study sessions, shu would find himself staring at you and admiring how cute you looked when you were focused. when you look up, sensing his gaze on you, you’d see him looking at his laptop, as if nothing happened. whenever a stray strand of hair would escape from your bun, shu would have to stop himself from reaching out and tucking that strand of hair behind your ear.

one afternoon, you’d both be back at the café, working away. shu would start admiring you again, thoughts of being with you swirling around in his head. this time, you catch him red handed and his eyes widen, a slight pink tinting his cheeks. “why’re you staring at me shu? do i have something on my face?”

shu shakes his head and says, “um no...it's nothing, i was just lost in thought about something.”

you giggle and tease him saying, “well, mr yamino, your cheeks tell me otherwise.”

shu blushes even more and sighs, “f-fine, you caught me. i’ve fallen for you y/n and it’s becoming difficult for me to get anything done. especially when you look so cute when you’re focused.”

you giggle again, with a slight blush on your cheeks too. “well, i think you look really cute right now shu. i’m sorry for being so distracting.”

shu groans and hides his face, “y/n stop being so cute, i can’t take it. you’re gonna make me do things i don’t usually do.”

your eyes widen and you look at him curiously, “what things? you might have to show me shu.”

shu sucks in a breath and moves from opposite you to sit beside you. you look at him, still wide eyed, curious as to what he’s going to do, your heart beating wildly against your chest. shu dives in quickly to give you a soft peck on the cheek and sits back straight, the tips of his ears turning red from embarrassment. you feel your face burning up too from shu’s little gesture and in the spur of the moment, you lean to the side to give him a peck on the cheek too.

“i like you too shu,” you say bashfully, “i’m glad you feel the same way.”
