Walking into a yarn shop like it's an art museum. Admiring all the colorways and textures of the various skeins. Nodding my head at the tasteful displays of handmade items by the local knitting/crochet group to demonstrate the different yarn brands. Talking to the owner to learn more about the local fiber art scene and learning about different dyers, and crafters in the area that I would have never found on the internet. Buying one too many skeins to continue my pursuit of creating beautiful things to bring joy into mine and others lives. My way of paying homage to this wonderland of fibrous beauty.
Fucking glorious.

THE BANSHEES OF INISHERIN + SWEATERS
‘“The sweaters, the jumpers that they were wearing at the time were much simpler, so a lot of time they were quite plain and some cable-knit just here, on the side,” [costume designer Ní Mhaoldomhnaigh] says of the warm and wooly wardrobe staple [...] The Dublin-based Ní Mhaoldomhnaigh worked with local octogenarian Delia Barry to help design the handmade knits worn by Farrell, Gleeson, and Barry Keoghan.
“Brendan loved [the sweaters] so much, she’s been knitting jumpers for him since Christmas. He sends her cards … and she’s just adorable. She knit the one for Barry Keoghan and Colin’s red one with the collar,” Ní Mhaoldomhnaigh explains. The handcrafted piece with its exaggerated collar and deep sanguine color is truly one-of-a-kind.’ [x]

It's been a while since i updated this blog with things I've made, so let's fix that!
Aran sweater pattern I made using King Cole Wildwood Chunky (pure wool) with my first cables! Took 3-4 months to complete.

30 nym Challenge day 26: What new skill are you learning?
It’s not a new skill, but I’ve been reviving my interest in knitting lately. I’m planning to finish a blanket that I started knitting back in 2022.
I’ve also been trying to get my hands on more Spanish-language media to practice my language skills. I’m currently reading Un verdor terrible (English translation is titled: When We Cease to Understand the World).
