I’m searching for information on Zephyrus. Have you had any experience with him? If not that’s cool. I can’t seem find any followers of his.

Hey there!

Unfortunately, I do not worship Zephyrus nor do I have any experience with him. I did do some brief research about him for you, though!

I do, however, have some information that I can share that may help you! This is stuff I am finding online through various sources; I'm mostly trying to stick to historical sources.

Zephyrus

• Frankincense is a common offering for all Anemoi

• You can find hymns written to the Anemoi among the Orphic Hymns (hymn 80 is specifically for Zephyros)

• Zephyrus, the West Wind, is considered the gentlest of the four winds and is a bringer of spring, carrying seeds on his winds and warming up the earth

• Here is a prayer to the four winds, including one specifically for Zephyrus, that I found

• General Hellenic offerings that can be given to most gods (including Zephyrus) would include clean water, wine, milk, cheese, grains, fruits, veggies, olives, bread, meat, olive oil, and figs

• There are no historical festivals for Zephyrus (or any Anemoi), but people typically celebrate him with the coming of spring, specifically the spring equinox

• Offerings you can give to Zephyrus would be feathers (always clean ones found in nature first), flowers (especially those that bloom in spring), unripe fruits, swan imagery, horse imagery, and tiger imagery

• He is married to Khloris (Chloris), goddess of greenery, according to Ovid (the Dionysiaca also claims Iris, goddess of rainbows and messenger of Hera, to be his wife)

• His children are said to be Xanthos, Balios, Eros, Pothos, Areion, Karpos, literal tigers, and literal horses

• Some of his known epithets (based mostly on what I could find in the Orphic Hymn and Theoi.com's mentioned sources; I couldn't find the original Greek, so it's just in English, sorry) are Sea-born, Aerial, Unseen, Lightwinged, Richest of all Winds, Brightening, Nimble God of Wayside Shrines, Golden-haired, Rapid, Swift, Gentle, Kindly, Lightest of all Things, Storm-blowing, Blustering, Stormy, Straight-flown, Strongly Blowing, Light (as in "light as a feather"), Earth-born (gigantos; only translated word I found), and The Gentle Breeze

• I know this is a very over used source, but I highly recommend checking out Theoi.com s entry on Zephyrus for more information about him

Truthfully, this is all I can find. I'm also having a hard time finding any worshippers of his online, but maybe one of my followers will see this and reblog with additional information. If they do, I'll be sure to reblog it so that you can hopefully see the addition.

Spicy/savoury/sweet: Assuming this isn't yet another euphemism I'm missing, savoury and sweet.

Relationship status: In a longterm queerplatonic partnership, otherwise single.

Current obsession: Baldur's Gate 3, this dumb vampire, and apparently illithid now too, yay. No but seriously illithid are so cool you guys, did you know that -!

Also my current illithid-focused fics, after which I plan on going back to working on my six book original fantasy series. And while I've largely finished writing in the setting, I will forever remain at least a little obsessed with my Eberron-based dystopian torturers in love (aks the Changeling Monitoring and Containment Division verse) work. Someday I may even start posting it, too!

Last thing I googled: Stacy's Dad. The song by Subradio. I woke up with it in my head.

currently working on: Currently working on (and nearly done with) a chapter of Xander Harris and the Little Pink Pill, a mostly plotless genderbending Xander/Cordelia smutfic, as well as my weekend Quests (group CYOAs I post to sites other than ao3), the one worked on most recently is called "You're the Queen, Now What?" about a woman chosen as Queen after the evil tyrant king was overthrown, but the Kingdom is deep, deep in debt, the army is made up of surrendered loyalists reintegrated and ex-rebels, you were a compromise candidate no one really wanted and don't forget you need to get yourself married and have an heir or two ASAP. So far, the players of the Quest have gotten past the first few months of being the Queen, but things will start to ramp up, and the suitors for her hand as Queen are arriving. Up next for the regular stuff is another chapter in Heroine's Waifu, an isekai thruple wish fulfillment fluffy story.

I value your perspective on the gods a lot and so out of curiousity I wanted to ask: if at all, which gods do you associate with botany? Or even just the study of biology in general?

That really means a lot to me so thank you! <3

The first gods that come to find for Botany are Demeter and Persephone. I think there are absolutely arguments for Gaia, of course, as well as Artemis and Dionysus. There is also Khloris and nymphs in general tbh. If I personally had to choose one tho Id go with Demeter.

Biology is a bit more complicated because its a VERY broad area of study that crosses into many different domains. However, considering biology is a branch of science and Apollo is the god of science you could see him as the overall ruler of the domain.

I've been doing some light research on the mythological story of Karpos and Kalamos

At first, I was finding the same summary over and over with slightly different wording. Summary in my own words: Karpos was a gorgeous youth who was deeply in love with his boyfriend Kalamos, the child of Maiandros (god of the Maeander river) and Khloris (or Chloris) (spring, or new vegetation). The two decided to have a swimming competition in the river. Karpos drowned causing Kalamos to fall into despair and allowed himself to drown in the river as well. Kalamos was then transformed into a water reed whose songs are said to be sighs of lamentation.

Then I came across a completely different summary from a library that said the two were friends yet decided to include the detail that the water reed is quite phallic-like.

What. How can you call them friends and in the same paragraph make a dick joke?

Anyway- this lead me to look deeper and I found this awesome blog post that explains more in-depth about Karpos and Kalamos. I wanted to share!

Some of the additional information you get to learn in the article is:

Kalamos tries to blame the gods of the four winds for drowning Karpos by creating a wave in the river

Kalamos comes to the conclusion that it must have been his father, god of the river, that created the wave that drowned Karpos

His last words were of how he wanted to have a single grave and headstone for himself and his love Karpos

Spring is here (it was here a few days ago). Persephone is in the middle, the goodness over to of her is Eirene, she is one of the Horae and she is a goddess of peace and spring, Zephyrus is left of Persephone, leaning his head against her sholder, he is the west wind (sometimes seem as the winds of spring), Demeter is behind Zephyrus, Khloris (or Flora in Roman mythology) is resting her head against Persephone leg, Gaia is beside Peresephone on her right and Helios is right under the sun.
