Spontaneity
Keshi has been one of my favourite artists EVER. I don't know if has to do with the fact that his music resonates with the teenage angst of my heartbreak that I still hold onto or the fact that I have found an idol whom I share a heritage with. I found him when I was in the depths of my despair and have never let go since.
A meet and greet with Keshi was the reason for my spontaneity of a six-hour-long drive to Austin from Dallas, there and back of course, and the development of my character. As someone who craved structure and the fabricated image of a clean student, Austin in a day changed me to seek leniency within myself and spontaneity.
This is not a review of Keshi but of a city, I truly got to experience.
I would be lying if I said my decision to attend the meet and greet was truly spontaneous. It was actually planned a week in advance when I found out Keshi was having a meet and greet. Austin was planned to weave around my classes and relieve the built-up anxiety of the consequence I would have to face for skipping class. But I digress
We went to two places that day. Waterloo Records and 돼지포차 (구)Together Restaurant. While passing through the city and hitting up those spots, I would say that Austin is a city of old and new. There is old architecture mixed with new concepts in the ever-changing city. Waterloo Records and 돼지포차 (구)Together Restaurant is the embodiment of the previous sentence.
Waterloo Record is a record store in Austin est. 1982. The store is still thriving today offering oldies by goodies records with an influx of new and emerging records of seasoned and rising artists. When you walk into the store there is a homely atmosphere as the employees greet you. The day I came Bad Bunny's record was plastered on the shelf and other modern artists such as Melanie Martinez and Jay Z. The other side of the store was filled with old records, some valuable today, of artists I can't recall. The store was separated by the old and the new but merged somewhere in between with the vast selection of genres they could put both generations into. Waterloo Records is worth the visit when in Austin as everyone can find something they are interested in. 8/10
돼지포차 (구)Together Restaurant is a hidden Korean restaurant in the older part of Austin. Our decision to eat here was truly spontaneous. Compared to the location of Waterloo Records where you can find a Whole Foods with a rooftop or a restaurant serving charcoal waffles, 돼지포차 (구)Together Restaurant looms in the part of the city that seems forgotten or left behind when change outpaces stability. 돼지포차 (구)Together Restaurant offers a variety of Korean food that can't be found anywhere else in Austin. While many new Korean fusion eateries may try to copy the essence of Korean cuisine through bulgogi and kimchi that caters to the Western palette, 돼지포차 (구)Together Restaurant offers a depth of Korean cuisine that may only be found in Korea or a Korean household. I ate the soondae gopchang meal with my friends and it was amazing. The texture of blood sausage and intestine may turn away the Western palette that is used to the meat and deboned parts of an animal but it was a comforting experience for me. 10/10
Austin unlocked change in me. At the moment it made me feel pathetic that I was a college student relying on the validation that being a "good" student gave me. But Austin made me realize that my old ideology needed to change. Like the city, I need to implement the new lesson and experiences of my life to thrive as a person. It is okay to roam out of your comfort zone but still refer back to the foundation that makes you who you are.
Austin is worth the visit if you are in Texas and will teach you worthy or fun life lessons you won't forget. 9/10

I have no idea what I should wear for the keshi concert because IT’S SO COLD LATELY AND I have to leave the house to take the train in 1 hour
I know it’s bad but I think I’m going to wear a warm sweatshirt and jeans and call it a day because it’s going to be -5 and not freezing to death is kind of my top priority right now
I’ll have to sacrifice cute for once 😔

Jonshi x La La Land
So i was thinking about jonshi but with la la land, like imagining Mia being Johnny and Sebastian Kenshi.
DISClAIMER!! this have spoilers of la la land
(sorry if the text is not fully understood, english is not my first language. thanks for understand <3)
So THAT love story starts, and we look the evolution of them love during the seasons starting with a rough meeting in winter at the traffic and in the bar, a starting of a friendship at the beginning of spring and finished with a lovely kiss in the Observatory, continuing with a relationship between them around the summer, starting knowing more about each other and having romantic moments, at the end of summer a old friend comes, Jax, to talk to Kenshi to propose to him that he be in his band because he is the best pianist he knows, at first Kenshi declined the offer but then he listen a call of johnny and his mother about them especially him about the jazz bar that he wants to buy and how the mother of johnny is unsure this is a good investment because Kenshi not have a stable job, so he decided that he would be in the band, just for Johnny.
And then fall starts, the relationship between Kenshi and Johnny are now in declive but the band is on a big takeoff. Johnny enter the aparment with a big surprice, was Kenshi, he arrives of the tour and he was making the meal for him and Johnny, Kenshi put the dishes and the meal in it, they start to talk about how Keshi going and
that’s where the discussion between them begins, Johnny questioning What is the reason why Kenshi joined the band, If it's really his dream to go on tour and tour, and if in reality he are liking the music he is making, Keshi's response also ended up being questions about whether it was true that Johnny liked the music he made and that he felt embarrassed about it, that he did not want him to have a stable job and that in reality Johnny he hated jazz.This is when the discussion begins to heat up about whether Keshi is actually going to follow his dream and open his bar, which Johnny said that no one is going to go, being a false statement that the latter refutes before Kenshi, and Kenshi finishing off by saying that Johnny is an actor, and the only thing he seeks is to please people, then a alarm starts to ring, was the food that Kenshi was making in the kitchen, he goes and Johnny stands and leaves the aparment.
Three weeks pass and Johnny have the important presentation that Kenshi supposed to go but by end he never came to see him, and that’s the straw. After been humiliated by hearing the combersation of the guests that he don't supost to heard, finally Kenshi arrives but Johnny was already leaving the building
“I’m sorry” Kenshi said, Johnny ignored him. “I… I quit. I quit the group. And… and I’m sorry I missed the play tonight, but I promise you I’ll be the first in the line tomor…”
“It’s over”
“…What?”.
Then Johnny leave in his car and go to his home. Days pass in the apartment of Kenshi now is empty, all the things of Johnny aren’t there any more and it feels lonely, the phone rings and Kenshi answers is a call for Johnny, an audition a important audition. It was night at the mother’s house of Johnny and a familiar sound came out of outside, it was the horn of a car that kept honking, as if someone was pressing it without removing their hand., it was Kenshi in his car with greats news.
“What are you doing here?… The neighbors can call the police by the scandal, you know?”
“I received a call that was for you, it was an audition and…”
“I’m not gone go to there…”
“Really, you're going to throw away five years of effort Johnny this is not your life”
“Apparently it is”
“You not like that, Johnny”
“People change... understand that”
“I told them you'd be there at five-thirty tomorrow. I'll swing by here before I drive back at eight. Either you'll be outside or you won't.”
“How… how did you find me?”
“The house across from the library”
Now is 5:30, Johnny and Kenshi are sit one next other in a waiting room “Johnny”
a woman said opening the room door a little, Johnny stand up and go to the room leaving Kenshi wait in the hall. A long time later Johnny came out and met with Kenshi and they stayed talking for a while in the parking lot next to the car
“When are they going to tell you if they accepted you” Kenshi said looking at Johnny
“By the end of the week”
“And they would need you in Paris”
“Yes… but they’re auditioning a million other people, so… you know…” a silence between
“I’ve never been to Paris” Johnny broke the silence
“Me neither… It's great, you'd really get to know the city. You'll have to visit Caveau de la Huchette”
“Caveau de...?”
“...de la Huchette. It's where Powell played”
“Well I'm not gonna get the part, so...” Johnny smiles at Kenshi and looks at him “Anyway, what are… what are you going to do...?”
“Well first I'm gonna visit you. Save up some money, make it work” — “I don't know... I'm sick of dinner piano, so…”Kenshi looks at Johnny
“I've never been here during the day. Is that embarrassing?”
Keshi looks at the Observatory and smileys — “Caveau de la Huchette... I'll remember that”
Five years pass, Johnny was getting ready putting his best suit and sunglasses then he proceeds to say goodbye to the babysitter and his daughter, Cassie, giving a forehead kiss to her and he goes to his car. Now is 8:06 pm and the car still no moved thanks for the traffic
“Do you want to skip it…? Turn off here and get dinner?” Sonya said looking at the road “Where are we…?”
“I don’t know… Eagle Rock?”
“Alright…”
They left the car parked near some restaurants and start walking when a music come out of a building, it was jazz, and Sonya proceeds to take Johnny into the place, then them find seats and sits, the owner of the bar arrives and starts talking, it was Kenshi, after the words he sits in the piano and starts playing it, the song that he playing was the song of the first meet of he and Johnny, after the song finishes everyone in the room gives applause except of Johnny that was looking at Kenshi, Sonya got up and offered her hand to Johnny who got up and left the place with her, without first giving Kenshi the last smile.
