Hi! I helped with those two a lot!
Having AUs is fun
Having Bionicle AUs is also fun because IT'S CANON that other universes/alternate realities exist, so that just gives you free reign to have fun
I know I am
One AU sees the Metru as cats while another sees them as sort of Magical girls
Idk, just saying

Weren’t pretty much all of the Great Disk Matoran at least somewhat hostile to their respective Toa Metru (besides Vhisola)? I can’t remember much about them.
I need a refresher:
Did Nuhrii pick on Vakama along with other Ta-Matoran?
Did Ta-Matoran pick on Vakama?
Used to own the sort of info book a while ago, but it's gone now and it's not on the Biomedia project

I fully claim my part in the madness.
Also, you forgot Poison getting adopted and getting to live a mostly normal life.
AUs in most fandoms: "What if everyone swapped?" "What if everyone's morality was switched?" "What if these superpowered protagonists were normal people working in a coffee shop?" AUs in the Bionicle fandom: "What if the main species swapped with the surprisingly in-depth evil crocodile people?" "What if various characters re-enacted the plots of superhero movie trailers?" "What if the superpowered protagonists of, like, two thirds of the story were teachers in a vaguely-Canadian school and still had their superpowers?"

Onewa and Vakama REALLY start talking after Onewa overhears two agents discussing Vakama’s metal and wire sculptures.
Vakama is not allowed to keep his sculptures in his room, but is allowed to visit them with an escort.
Nuju’s sister has Vitiligo. Nuju and Agent [REDACTED] do not.
Zaktan was incredibly difficult to capture in his entirety.
Keetongu has shown aggression and anxiety towards most things resembling spiders. Unfortunately, Sidorak finds this amusing. Fortunately for Pewku, Keetongu does not consider her to resemble a spider, and in fact enjoys when she visits him.
More Bionicle SCP AU Ideas
Now with added angst! For simplicity, I will not be using their assigned numbers in this post. Also the [REDACTED]s are not all censoring the same event, time period, or person. Thanks again to @bionicle-ramblings for this AU.
Keetongu is an anomaly resembling a mushroom/Sasquatch hybrid, who used to wander around healing the sick prior to his capture.
Onewa and Vakama get along much better in this AU than they do in canon at the start, because Onewa can actually understand Vakama’s feelings of stress and resentment from being treated like less for something he can’t control, plus he can appreciate a fellow artist. Onewa isn’t all sunshine and daisies with him, but Whenua gets much more of his ire than Vakama does. He and Vakama actually balance each other out a bit, as Vakama felt guilt for things he shouldn’t, while Onewa didn’t feel much guilt at all for some things that he actually should.
Onewa was able to hide the early signs of his rocky skin patches as being a form of ichthyosis (a skin condition that resembles scales, depending on the type), at least until he developed his telepathy skills and the patches became more obvious.
Nuju is actually related to Agent [REDACTED], but did not find this out until after the [REDACTED] event, during a conversation in the [REDACTED] period. The agent in question was also unaware, as Nuju had been thought dead by the family and was thus rarely or never mentioned out of grief.
Nuju’s first vision was his sister being severely injured while she tried to protect him from being taken into custody by SCP Agents after he came to visit her and her young child (whom he hadn’t gotten to meet yet) upon returning from his mountain climbing trip. He stayed away to protect her, and chose to let her think that he had died in a mountain climbing accident. His last vision as a free man was the agents coming for him and Nokama.
Takua’s crystal form (Takanuva) is actually incredibly heat resistant. It is also incredibly hard to damage in other ways. Any scars that do form on it resemble rainbows or opal-like streaks. After the [REDACTED] event, he has several of these scars.
Vakama receives his first real hug in years whilst in custody from either Takanuva or Nuju.
Sidorak has a fondness for exactly two (2) anomalies.

SCP AU Thoughts
@bionicle-ramblings has a wonderful SCP AU post here https://www.tumblr.com/bionicle-ramblings/741127637398962176/theres-a-lot-of-good-stuff-here-whenua-more-or and I had a small idea myself.
It’s a bit silly, but what if Pewku replaces Josie the Half-Cat (SCP 529) in this AU? So we have Pewku the Half-Crab, and Takua still gets to see his friend. Plus, I can’t stop giggling over the idea of Takua/Takanuva playing with Pewku by switching between his two bodies to give her pets and play fetch or play hide-and-seek.

The people have spoken!
Bionicle SCP AU!!
Big thanks to @chancetimespace for honestly entertaining this idea in the first place because this came out of left field😅
World stuff to get out of the way first:
The SCP here is basically the same as the usual SCP(Secure, Contain, Protect) with the added bonus of keeping the beings in its walls from getting out and disrupting the natural order
This is also something of a humanized au, so please bear with me
The Toa Metru are SCPs, each with their own quirks, as do other SCPs, but that's par for the course with anomalies
Lhikan, Naho, Sidorak, the Toa Mata, and Jaller are all scientists or are at least employees in the facility, with their jobs boiling down to keeping anomalies alive and in the facility. There are other workers, these are just who I thought of first
There is a facility trying to get an anomaly out, one that could possibly cause worldwide damage if set free. The anomaly has other acquaintances and allies, but it and the other facility are planning a breach
Takua/Takanuva is an anomaly
The Piraka are anomalies
There are objects that count as anomalies, namely masks. It is unknown how long these masks were tampering with natural order before their were apprehended
On to some of the SCPs themselves!
Off the bat, we have SCP-8545, Whenua. He appears to be a man in his mid-teenties to early thirties, but really he's been around since the 1200's, or so people think; 1215 was an exact year he mentioned as well as meeting philosophers and claiming they, "ruined a good day, and my lunch." Whenua can be hurt and does not regenerate, but his senses are heightened; he can see in the dark, has some level of echo location, and seems to have some level of X-Ray vision, proven when he stared at an agent and asked when they'd last been to the doctor. His Object Class is Safe and he is allowed to roam freely in the facility. He is also allowed to have belongings such as fossils he's kept with him and anitique books and objects from various points in history, including a draft drawing done by Leonardo DaVinci he claims to have won in a bet
SCP-8604, Onewa, is a mostly normal human being, but he has patches of stone on his body, most notably along his forehead, jaw, cheeks, arms, knuckles, torso, knees, back, legs, and feet. These patches make him nearly impermeable to physical damage and allow him to easily fight and gain the upper hand against other people. Also giving him an advantage, and what also made him difficult to capture, is that he has some level of telepathy, specifically making agents either forget him or ignore him. Upon his capture, he did need to be kept in a room with a two-way mirror; agents dicivered his telepathy is fully effective only when he can see his target and have their full attention on him while he commands them. Because of his telepathy and his subpar cooperation, he is classified as Euclid, only being allowed to roam if he wears a set of goggles that darken his vision and makes seeing others more difficult.
Matau, SCP-8740, also falls under the Euclid class. He is a shapeshifter, able to change his features at will and hold the appearance for as long as he wishes. Containment protocol including having a tracker injected into his body so that he could be found no matter what form he took. His original form appears to be mostly humanoid, only his skin is more reflective and scaley and he never blinks. Containment protocol has included that additions to having what is essentially an adult-sized play area in his area due to his high energy. He is only allowed outside if there is a guaranteed way to bring him back; he has had instances of nearly escaping as he slipped out of a window and formed a set of wings so he could fly.
SCP-8544 is Nuju, a human who agents found living alone with Nokama, another SCP and who was suffering from hypothermia. Nuju himself is immune to the cold and is able to love in firgid temperatures comfortably; he can be burned with heat, but rarely needs such extreme measures to be contained. He also has sharp vision and can read the stars in the sky like books, being an astronomer/astrologist, though this has translated to him being able to predict the future with steady success rates. Agents were surprised to see he had telekinetic powers, but only to the point of lifting and throwing objects and holding doors shut. His Object Class is Euclid due to his practicing using telekinesis to do more advanced things like stop a heart.
As previously mentioned, Nokama, SCP-8737, was found and apprehended with Nuju. She had been experiencing hypothermia due to swimming in a nearby frozen lake. When she recovered, she, at first, spoke to the agents in fluent Russian. When no one understood her, she spoke again in French. She spoke in various languages with perfect fluency, including dead languages such as Mayan and Latin, before finally speaking to the agents in English. When asked when she learned so many languages, she in turn asked why the agents never learned a fraction of the languages. Examination revealed she had a set of gills in her lungs, which allowed her to breathe underwater. Containment protocol is to let her have a pool in her room, as she is more comfortable underwater than above or outside of it. Object Class is Safe.
Vakama, SCP-8601, has been the longest staying anomaly of the SCPs listed. Similar to Nuju, Vakama is immune to heat, though he can be hurt by frigid temperatures. Unlike Nuju, Vakama is far more volatile as in moments of extreme distress or anger, he seems to begin to combust from the inside. When he's stable, he is safe enough to touch for prolonged periods of time, though there have been occasions where his body temperature drops until he has the same body temperature as the average human being. Agents were alerted of his presence by too many coincidences lining up with one another, namely too many premature prescribed burns and demolitions with a bit of jewelry of piece of metal artwork left behind. Vakama was found near an abandoned factory, though agents thought they'd only found a fire. Upon putting out the flame, they found and apprehended Vakama, who would explain he knew they would be in the area and wanted them to find him. They learned that Vakama could see the future, something he has no control over. During these visions, the flame grows and Vakama himself turns invisible. Despite his Euclid Object Class and permission/ability to free roam, Vakama rarely leaves his holding area, only requesting to have metal working materials and a calender
SCP-40581-1 is Takua/Takanuva, the names being used interchangeably as he can switch between two bodies, only able to inhabit one at a time. When in control of one bkdy, the other lays dormant in what appears to be a comatose state. Takua appears to be a small humanoid while Takanuva appears to be a humanoid crystal with a prominent internal glow. When asked, he explained it in a similar way to walking through a door and laying on a couch or bed. Agents have theories on how the anomaly came to be, but have more trouble keeping Takua in one place as he is apt to explore the facility(Object Class: Safe, if not mildly annoying). There have been recorded incidents of the slumbering body of Takanuva twitching and speaking. Takua claims to know nothing of what is said. It is unknown as of yet if damage to one body is carried on to the other

Unfortunately no, but it might’ve been an old reply or a post made in response to it. I remember there being a part about Vakama making several decoy masks to fool Teridax, including a Kakama shaped like an Avohkii, but without the “Stop moving at light speed” function, one that had something to do with spiders (summoning a swarm of them maybe?), and one fake Avohkii that basically glues itself to your face if you ever wear it. There were several others I think, but I can’t remember them.
Does anyone else remember a post about Vakama making decoy masks, like a bunch fake Avohkii with negative results when worn, or did I dream that up?

New au idea?
If Toa were Betta Fish-Mata/Nuva
Tahu: Angry Red Crowntail. Fullstop, the boy was born to be a Siamese fighting fish. He’d be the type to constantly have his gills flared all the way out and stretching his fins out so hard that they’d blow out and then he’d spend a week sulking in his tank decorations until he healed up. Definitely the kind of betta brat who would eat all the shrimp in the tank, and fights the motherfucking snail for good measure, AND he bites your fingers when you feed him. He WILL try to fight your cat. He builds giant bubble nests and gets mad if you move them.
Tumblr media
Gali: . Graceful and smooth iridescent crowntail female. Gali would invesitigate each and every shrimp in her tank, and ensure they never fight.  Generally chill enough to let them alone, but she gets into a rage if you stick her in a tank with a divider and the betta on the other side’s a flaring nutbar. She’ll come up and lean on your finger if you rest it in the tank long enough. Flares aggressively if the slightest thing is wrong and will bite you if you don’t change her water enough.
Tumblr media
Kopaka: Albino plakat crowntail with dumbo ears. A grump who never flares out his gills, but he’ll stretch his fings and straighten his pectorals any day of the year. Ignores you when you come up to the tank, only turning his eyes to look at you, then returning to his relaxation. When you’re ignoring him, he likes to swim as close as he can to observe you. Very vain and smart, he likes to admire his reflection, instead of fighting it. Will try to attack pictures of other fighting fish, however. Ignores snails/shrimp as beneath him. Totally doesn’t have interest in bubble nest making, nope, not at all. The ones you find each morning weren’t him. Nope.
Tumblr media
Pohatu: Cooper-brown halfmoon with a big tail. Theoretically this means he should be a slow moving lazy fish. No one told him this. Big, friendly and inquisitive. He’ll circle your finger doing a stupid tail wag the whole time, and then either nip you gently, or over enthusiastically latch on with those tiny jaws because he’s just playing and not tryna hurt you. Loves to zome around his tank and he often zooms into the filter’s wash to be blown around the tank. At first you worried about this, but he obviously loves it, since he keeps going back. Likes to try and herd shrimp and sleep on the snail (If it’d hold still dammit!) Be sure to leave a ping pong ball floating in his tank, he’ll push it around when you’re not present. Wiggle dances constantly, even when attempting to make the entire surface of his tank a bubble nest.
Tumblr media
Lewa: Metallic Green half moon with big ol fins. Really loves to jump, necessitating you lowering the water levels in his tank for fear of him launching out of the tank. Friendly and curious, he loves to watch you, chase laser pointers, and generally be a silly nut. At night time he rests on the floating plant in his tank, always nesting himself in tightly. Builds a bubble nest in each corner of his tank. Likes playing with the filter like Pohatu, but he managed to get stuck to the intake one time so you had to baffle it.
Tumblr media
Onua- Purple/black Veiltail. Pretty calm for a betta, doesn’t generally flare his gills or tail, even in play, but watches everything. Good natured and protective, he checks on his tankmates every day, and is genial enough to hang out by the edge of the tank and ignore even Tahu’s wildest displays. He is methodically and constantly building up his bubble nest, but doesn’t mind when its destroyed after a tank cleaning. His favourite tank decor is totally a rocky little cave that he likes to peek out of. His movements always seem so calm and deliberate, no frantic tail wagging, unlike Lewa and Pohatu.

Based on @beesgav ‘s concept of Toa falling asleep in their Koros and waking up with a pile of Matoran
Ko-Matoran aren’t generally very touchy but the sentiment is much the same

Bohrok, Krana, Le-Koro, and Trauma
We don’t actually know who got caught first, do we?
We know Lewa was last, or at least close to last, since the villagers’ safety was used as blackmail to get Lewa to put the krana on. I could maybe see one or two Matoran potentially hiding until after Lewa was captured, but then Lewa was forced to hunt them down.
However, we don’t know who was caught first, or just as importantly, second. What if Matau was ambushed while doing a short patrol, and was then forced to put Krana on the villagers he had sworn to protect? What if it was Tamaru, who already has a fear of heights and now has to deal with a fear of him/her/theirself? What if Kongu, who was so proud to protect his villagers, but was made to betray them against his will? What if Ka tried to save him, but was driven back by the Bohrok, or Kongu himself ordered Ka away to keep Ka from being injured further?
Who found a friend alone and seemingly injured, only for them to turn around and force a Krana on their face? Or were they all just swarmed at once and the escapees were hunted down shortly afterwards?
Imagine being held down by your friends and having a body-possessing parasite attached to your face. Imagine being afraid of your friends, your neighbors, the ones who were supposed to protect you but at the same time knowing it isn’t their fault. Imagine the trauma of knowing you had done this to someone you care about.
Someone please get Le-Koro a therapist.

@crystaltoa You mean this one?

Others have said it before, and it bears repeating. The Turaga Mata Nui / Metru should have sharp teeth and be allowed to bite.

Another Quick Question
Hey, people that post their Bionicle art on tumblr: how’d you build up the courage to do so? I’ve just gotten back into drawing again and I’m considering posting some of my art, but I’m nervous.
