Beautiful Wings

This is my first Kakyoin x Reader, as well as my first fic for JJBA in general, but if anyone has questions about requests for other characters let me know (I’m only on the beginning of part four, so characters after that will have to be written after I watch those parts). As always gif and characters are not mine.

Description: The reader, who recently joined the Star Crusaders, has not told anyone about their cursed owl-beast form. After an unexpected transformation, Kakyoin is the one tasked with saving them

Warnings: cursing, mentions of blood and fighting, wolves attacking a deer at one point. If I missed any please let me know!

Between fighting enemy stands and Joseph crashing half of the modes of transportation the Stardust Crusaders attempted to use, the journey to Egypt seemed to be taking longer than the group previously thought. When they considered Dio’s plans and the limited time that Holly had left, they all knew that they must journey on in order to save Jotaro’s mom and kill Dio for good. Still, they could only push themselves so far.

“We should camp here for the night.” Joseph stated as he dropped his supplies on the ground, the layer of grass below softening the bag's impact.

Jotaro frowned as he addressed his grandfather. “Why the hell are we stopping now? It’s not even sunset yet, and we could easily make it to the next town.”

Everyone nodded in agreement, but one of the members struggled more than the rest. Y/N Y/L/N, one of the newest additions to the Stardust Crusaders, wobbled on their feet as they tried to focus. Y/N met the Joestars and company after their battle with Golden Temperance, and their unique stand made an excellent addition to the team. However, that wasn’t the only power that Y/N possessed.

When Y/N was eight years old, about the same time they discovered their stand, another effect came about that Y/N could not control. They were cursed with the form of a feathered beast, which became triggered when Y/N experienced high levels of stress or tiredness, but a special elixir helped to keep the monster within them at bay. The only problem is that they never told anyone about their curse for fear that they would view them as nothing but an evil entity that would jeopardize their mission.

“Jotaro is right.” Y/N voiced as they put on a confident facade. “If we make it to the next town, then we won’t have to travel as far tomorrow. If we run into another enemy stand, it will push us further behind. We can’t afford any more setbacks.” Y/N took a few steps forward before their legs gave out from under them. They would have crashed to the ground if Kakyoin didn’t catch them first.

“That’s the reason why we are stopping for the night, Jotaro.” Joseph reiterated, and Jotaro had no choice but to agree with a slight scowl. The two Joestars worked on starting a fire while Avdol and Polnareff assembled their tents. Kakyoin still had a tight hold on Y/N’s waist as he looked at them with concern.

“You should sit down and rest, Y/N. These past few days you’ve been acting a little off. In fact, the entire week you haven’t been as alert.” Kakyoin tried to usher Y/N to a tree that had fallen in the forest long before the group arrived, one hand clasped around Y/N’s while the other rested gently on their back. Kakyoin had always felt a strong connection with them, and seeing Y/N weak like this made his heart ache.

Y/N smiled at Kakyoin’s efforts to ensure that they were well, and they couldn’t deny that the feeling of his comforting embrace put them at ease, but relaxing would have to wait. “Thank you for the concern, Cherry Boy, but I promise that by tomorrow I’ll be right as rain.” Kakyoin attempted to change Y/N’s mind, but he was interrupted by yelling from across the camp.

“Why is it so hard to put this damn tent together?!” Polnareff complained as he struggled with the plastic poles used to stabilize the tents. The second he thought the final pole was in place, the pole snapped out of the loop it was placed in, smacking Polnareff in the face.

Kakyoin and Y/N laughed at their friend’s struggles as Y/N moved to help him. “I better show him how it’s done before he rips a hole in the tent.”

The sun had finally set, leaving the onyx sky and snow colored stars to peek through the foliage above the camp. The fire crackled as the tangerine flames twisted and moved, the light creating a circular shield of protection around the camp. Polnareff provided entertainment with a story about his youth in France.

“One night I decided to go out on the town, and I saw the most beautiful woman in all my life. Her name was Annette, and I wouldn’t let anything stop me from approaching her that night. Turns out, she was already engaged to Pierre Laurent, a very attractive man who had caught my eye as well.” Polnareff blushed as he let out a hearty laugh. The rest shared in his merriment, except for Y/N, who frantically sifted through their bag.

“Oh no, this is bad.” Y/N whispered to themselves as they checked each and every pocket for the third time. They swore that they packed plenty of their elixir for the journey, or at the very least enough to make it to the next town where they could locate an alchemist, but now Y/N realized that no elixir remained. That means the curse could take hold at any minute.

“What’s wrong, Y/N? You look awfully pale.” Kakyoin’s soft voice broke Y/N out of their anxious spiral of thoughts.

Y/N glimpsed at Kakyoin and put on a brave smile. “Yes, I-I think I just need to take a breather.” Y/N shakily rose from the blanket they had spread out, all the while trying to steady their breathing and push their thoughts away. They walked off into the woods, but not before sparring a second glance at Kakyoin. His lilac eyes pleaded with them to stay and talk about what problems were on their mind, but at the same time his politeness kept him anchored to his spot. Y/N disappeared between the trees, leaving the others left in a tense silence.

“We all agree that something is wrong with Y/N, right?” Kakyoin asked, even though he identified what their answers would be.

“Indeed, their behavior does not match with the same person we met.” Avdol added as he tossed a few extra pieces of wood on the fire.

“They are hiding something from us.” Jotaro stated bluntly as he folded his arms. “I tried to use Star Platinum on them the other day to see if I could find the source of their attitude change, but they put up some pretty strong magic that even Star Platinum couldn’t break through. If they are putting in so much trouble to cover it up, it must be something big.”

“Well, there’s only one way to find out! I’ll go talk to them. After all, my jokes never fail to make Y/N laugh.” Polnareff strode off into the direction that Y/N previously went. Kakyoin stared into the fire and rested his head on his hand. He had no reason to be jealous of Polnareff, for his relationship with Y/N resembled that of an older brother with a younger sibling, and yet he felt that he should be the one to comfort Y/N.

In the woods, Y/N managed to find a stream that originated from a short waterfall at the right end of the stream. The peaceful sound of the water as it glided over the rocks soothed Y/N’s quick-beating heart. After this incident, they would tell the others about the curse. This ragtag team became like a family to Y/N, and they trusted them with their life, but would they feel the same about them?

An animalistic cry of despair drew Y/N’s attention back to reality as they stood their guard. On the opposite side of the stream, a pack of wolves had chased a sickly deer into the area, each wolf taking their turn ripping shreds out of the deer’s sides. The poor animal collapsed to the ground, and the wolves enjoyed their nightly meal. The scent from the crimson liquid that dripped from the animal flooded Y/N’s nose, and they let out a snarl as they hunched over from pain.

Y/N clenched their fists as sharp talons dug into their palms, feathers sprouting through the skin on the backs of their hands and traveling up their arms. They fell to the ground, another howl escaping from their lips as their E/C eyes filled with inky darkness. In a last ditch effort to convince the others that this creature was them, Y/N dropped their most prized possession onto the ground in hopes that one of them would connect the dots. What humanity remained left them as Y/N shifted into their owl beast form.

Polnareff, not aware of what happened to Y/N or that they were near the river, absentmindedly came across their monstrous form. A gasp of surprise left him as he summoned Silver Chariot. “Alright you foul beast! You’re no match for my powerful stand!” A low growl rumbled from Y/N’s throat as they spread their wings and crouched low to the ground, fully prepared to attack Polnareff. The man noticed Y/N’s favorite item resting between Y/N’s muscular front legs, and he shouted in anger. “What the hell have you done with Y/N?! You will pay for this!”

Y/N lunged forward at the silver-haired stand user. Polnareff failed to notice just how massive this monster was due to the distance previously separating them, but as Y/N closed the gap, he concluded that he couldn’t face this alone. “Oh shit!” Polnareff exclaimed as he ran back towards the camp.

Jotaro, Avdol, Joseph, and Kakyoin could hear Polnareff's terrified screams from a mile away, the sound growing in volume the closer he got. He tumbled through the brush before skidding to a halt. “There’s a monster in these woods, and I’m certain that it took Y/N!!”

Jotaro scoffed. “Oh good grief, you're seeing things, Polnareff. It was probably just a bear.”

“Bears aren’t covered in feathers the last time I checked!”

Y/N jumped out from behind Polnareff with a screech, and he moved out of the way. Star Platinum punched Y/N out of the air, their immense form crashing into the trunk of a nearby tree and causing the bark to splinter. The others were on their feet now too, ready to fight this new threat. Y/N heaved themselves off the ground, a cut on their head staining the H/C feathers with blood. They snarled and clawed at the ground as their back muscles tensed with rage.

Jotaro raised his fist to deliver another punch using Star Platinum, but Kakyoin’s hand on his shoulder stopped him. “Jotaro, I believe that this owl-like beast might be Y/N. That would explain why they were on edge. We must find a way to capture them without causing harm.”

“As much as I want to believe you, Kakyoin, I need proof that this really is Y/N. Otherwise, I will be the one to finish this fight.” Jotaro waited for an answer from his friend, but Polnareff spoke up instead.

“I saw Y/N’s most prized possession between this creature’s legs just before it chased after me. Y/N probably left it there as a message.”

Joseph marched forward and put himself in front of Y/N, and they squinted their dark eyes at the older gentleman as they barred their sharp fangs. “You boys distract them while I tie them up using Hermit Purple!” The order sent everyone into action, Kakyoin starting off with an emerald splash from Hierophant Green and followed up by Silver Chariot and Star Platinum. Y/N’s thick hide deflected the stand’s attacks, and they swiped at Jotaro in defense.

“Haha! I always knew they disliked you the most!” Polnareff joked as one of Y/N’s wings collided with him and sent him flying backwards. Jotaro held back a smirk as he used Star Platinum to tackle Y/N to the ground. “Now, Old Man!”

Lavender vines engulfed Y/N and pinned them to the ground, but Joseph’s stand would only be able to restrain their cursed form momentarily. “Kakyoin! You’re the one that they trust out of all of us, so find some way to calm them down!” Joseph shouted as he pulled the dark vines tighter. Kakyoin cautiously tiptoed towards Y/N, hoping that his relaxed demeanor would rub off on them too.

Y/N bit at the vines encasing them, but their head snapped forward at the sight of Kakyoin. Their pointed nose scrunched as they growled in defiance and their pointed ears flattened. “Y/N, it’s me, Kakyoin. I know you are in there somewhere, but you must relax so we can help you.” Kakyoin inched closer, and Y/N’s growling stopped when they recognized his scent.

Kakyoin knelt down and looked into Y/N’s eyes, and while they weren’t the normal color he had grown to admire, even now the coal orbs still retained a strange beauty. “You may think that you are a monster that children hear stories about, but that is far from the case. This curse doesn’t define who you are, Y/N, and I love you all the same.” The confession, while sudden, held nothing but the truth. Kakyoin raised his hand to cradle Y/N’s cheek, and they nuzzled into his touch with a calm purr.

Joseph retracted Hermit Purple, and Y/N curled up against Kakyoin, their snores filling the air. Kakyoin stroked Y/N’s feathery mane as he turned to Avdol. “Do you know a way to change them back to normal?”

“Perhaps there is something in Y/N’s bag that will offer us some insight.” Avdol responded as he searched Y/N’s pack. Sure enough, there was a notebook that listed the ingredients needed to make the elixir. Avdol assembled the components from his own bag, and the finished elixir altered Y/N’s form instantly. Kakyoin never felt more relieved in his entire life.

Y/N opened their eyes and sat up, rubbing them as they yawned. “What the hell happened? Oh no…I didn’t hurt anyone, did I?” Y/N’s eyes brimmed with scared tears as they frantically looked around. Kakyoin pulled them closer into a warm embrace. “No, you didn’t hurt any of us, Y/N.”

“Why did you hide the curse, Y/N? Are you secretly working for Dio?” Jotaro didn’t mean to make such a cruel accusation, but his own exhaustion and fears were bothering him too.

Y/N turned to face Jotaro, their face stoic. “I would never work for that blood-sucking scum bag, Jotaro. Although, I see why you would think as much. I only hid the truth from everyone because my entire life people called me a monster, and I couldn’t stand the only people I consider to be family thinking the same thing.”

Jotaro pulled his hat down over his eyes. “We care about you too much to see you as a monster, Y/N. However, next time you decide to go on a rampage, please do so after I’ve gotten some sleep.”

Y/N giggled at Jotaro’s abrasive yet sentimental comment. “Thank you for understanding, Jotato.”

“Watch it, Feather-Brains.”

The others decided to turn in for the night, leaving Kakyoin and Y/N alone. Kakyoin gave Y/N some space, and Y/N instinctively wrapped their arms around their legs to ground them. Kakyoin could see that Y/N looked more tired, if that was even possible. “You should sleep, Y/N. After what happened tonight, you must be worn out.”

“Sleep would just make this ordeal worse. I thought I had this curse under control, but clearly that’s not the case.” Y/N wiped at a stray tear. “All I’ve ever wanted is to be normal again.”

Kakyoin chuckled as he leaned back, his arms supporting his weight as he observed the still dark sky above him. “Think about it this way. If you were normal, would you have joined the Stardust Crusaders? None of us are normal, especially Polnareff, but that made the bond we share stronger.” He reached for Y/N’s hand, his thumb rubbing soothing circles on their knuckles. “Now that I am aware of this curse, I will face it with you every day from here on out. You mean more to me than anyone else, Y/N, and I will protect you with my life.”

Y/N smiled as they shuffled closer to Kakyoin, his warmth lulling them to sleep as their eyes fell closed. “And I would do the same for you, Kakyoin.”

Kakyoin could feel his own fatigue as he too started drifting off to sleep, but Y/N’s happiness and ease came first. The next morning, Polnareff and Avdol discovered the two curled up against one another, Y/N’s head resting under Kakyoin’s chin as his arms pulled them closer.

Polnareff snickered as he nudged Avdol with his shoulder. “I can’t wait to tease them about this.”

making friendship bracelets (jotaro, kakyoin, josuke) w/ gender neutral partner

jotaro

☆ is at first like?? why do you want to do that. I don't even wear jewelry. It'll be a waste of beads

☆ but you see right through him when star platinum is searching through your bead container, picking out black beads with gold accents and placing them into a small bowl

☆ jotaro will consider your interests when making you your bracelet but will also want it to match his. thinks it's kinda cute but won't verbalize that. it'll be your favorite color but have dark accents to match his

☆ if you make different bracelets to match his different hats he WILL wear them. if anyone comments he'll say it's just cause you made it, but he also likes the idea of minimal jewelry once he gets older

☆ star platinum makes you bracelets semi-frequently whenever you and jotaro have movie dates and they're always so big. it always makes star platinum kinda sad, but when you adapt it into a keychain he's happy you liked it enough to make it work

kakyoin

☆ as I've mentioned in the sleepover headcanons, he LOVES friendship bracelets because they ease some of his anxiety when he's away from you. makes him feel less lonely

☆ he's not the best at making jewelry and is extremely partial to using emeralds and other greens with pinks. sorry if you don't like those colors cause the first bracelet he'll ever make you will be light pink and vibrant green, emerald shaped beads courtesy of hierophant green

☆ if they have the magnetic hearts on them he'll be so red because it's so cute to him. you'll be holding hands and it'll connect and you just hear him chuckle in delight

☆ doesn't wear a lot of jewelry but he'd wear anything you make him. it can be the ugliest thang ever and he's wearing it every hour of every day cause you made it!

☆ absolutely loves when someone compliments it and he can say "my partner made it! aren't I lucky?" he's legit so happy to show off what you've made him even if you didn't love the result

☆ similar to kakyoin in the way he thinks it's cute! he'll be restless in bed and look over at the bracelet and feel more at peace

☆ will make you probably the most hideous thing ever his first time. he'll insist on unstringing the beads and starting all over, but you reassure him you like how funky it is and the oddness reflects him well (in a good way you specify when he pouts)

☆ making bracelets for each other becomes a common date idea whenever you find new beads. josuke will be up to his elbows in bracelets before he realizes he can't wear them all at once despite his best efforts

☆ really likes matching necklaces too! will probably give you matching dog tag necklaces after feeling self conscious about the... unique bracelet he made and you'll wear them on casual dates

☆ loves how focused you are when you work and the way everything you make reflects your feelings for him. he'll look at the bracelet and feel warm, knowing you made this with everything you love about him on the mind

Fluff Alphabet: Jotaro Kujo

↳ Reader is written as gender neutral and was previously a part of the trip to Egypt.

A/n: I’ve always wanted to write an alphabet list! And who better to write one for than my favorite marine biologist? I hope y’all enjoy and remember to take care of yourselves. <3

Warning(s): A blink-and-you’ll-miss-it innuendo. Mentions of blood and canon-typical swearing. Very light angst.

(A)ffection - How affectionate is he? How does he show affection?

Let’s face it, the phrases “Jotaro Kujo” and “lovey-dovey” don’t mix.

He didn’t rank high on the affectionate scale, at least, not at the beginning of your relationship.

Instead of being openly affectionate, his main method of expressing his feelings during the beginning was to spend lots of quality time with you. Attached at the hip, he followed you around everywhere.

Another way he expressed his affection was by… introducing or referring to you as his boyfriend/girlfriend?

You still remember the first time you’d met his mother. He brought you home one day, standing a good foot or two to your left. His arms were firmly planted in his pockets, while you awkwardly had to listen to him bluntly say “This is who I’m dating.”

That was his idea of romance.

Jotaro’s come a long way since; it’s a matter of time for him. Quality time is still a large part of his love language, no question, but after settling into the relationship he’ll get the hang of it.

Specifically, he’s more knowledgeable on what you like best and that will certainly shine through in his actions.

This is especially true in private, where he’ll show a side of himself that’s genuinely sweet and more inclined to be physically affectionate.

(B)eauty - What does he admire about you? What does he think is beautiful about you?

Your personal drive and motivations are two things he deeply admires about you!

Specifically, your passions make you incredibly special in his eyes. And this is true regardless of where those motivations lie. If you are passionate in your career, or even about your hobbies, he’ll be sure to take notice.

Whether it’s the way your face lights up when the topic is even slightly mentioned, or the expression of complete focus when knee-deep in whatever it is that compels you to move forward, it can honestly leave him speechless.

He’s a great support as well. Vocally and bluntly expressing a unwavering belief in you. He does this more often if you harbor any insecurities towards your passions as well.

Physically speaking, he adores your eyes the most.

The amount of times he’s drowned himself in the vast ocean contained within your irises is uncountable. It’s grounding, comforting, and will likely never fail to make his heart flutter.

His staring is a constant in your relationship. During the platonic stage, the beginning of you dating, and all throughout your years of marriage.

(C)omfort - How would he help you when feeling down/having a panic attack/etc.?

Much like with displaying affection, Jotaro’s going to be rather shit at this in the beginning.

Where it differs, however, is that his attempts at making you feel better were likely the first signs of his deeper feelings towards you.

As the journey to Egypt developed, so did both of your understanding of one another. Namely, he was rather curt and dismissive towards you initially. This behavior probably led you to try and avoid him, whether it was done shyly or with a more vocal pushback against his actions.

Regardless, stand attacks were the catalyst of you realizing he actually cares for you. More specifically, during the fight against Steely Dan. It didn’t matter to him that Joseph’s life was on the line, if the bastard so much as got to close, you were having to hold Jotaro back from becoming violent.

Comforting you while dealing with mental or emotional hurtles is something he approaches far more awkwardly.

When you first began going out, he would grow silent and sit next to you as you let out your emotions. He’s always been a good listener, certainly, but that was pretty much it.

As he matures, he’ll find the- although limited -right words to say. Not only that, but if you want to cling to him, feel free to do so.

If you’re going through a panic attack, his response depends on the situation. If it’s during/because of a battle, he leaves comforting you to someone else while he dives head-first into the fight.

If it’s not during such a dire situation, he will pull you close (unless it’s already been made clear that will only heighten your distress).

Jotaro will encourage you to meet his gaze, and follow his deep breaths as best you can. He will always be calm, and prioritizes you relaxing before discussing the source of your panic attack after the fact.

(D)ance - Does he like to dance with you? How good of a dancer is he?

No way in hell.

It won’t matter how many times you, whine, beg, or bargain. The most you’ll ever get from him is the tapping of his foot or gentle nod of his head in the car.

Try not to take it personally!

In general, Jotaro just doesn’t dance. It’s not for him. He doesn’t even know if he’s got naturally good rhythm (he doesn’t) because he just… never does it.

The first time you ever danced with him is on your wedding day.

Marrying the love of your life in of itself is enough to make your heart swell. But the fact that he danced with you, in front of friends and family no less, made the ceremony magical. And his steady movements, as well as how tenderly he held you to him, took your breath away.

The fact that he asked his mother to show him how to slow dance, practicing for weeks beforehand, is something he’s taking to the grave.

(E)xcitement - How does he act when he’s excited? What excites him?

The world must’ve stopped turning; the sun is falling down from the sky. Pigs are outside flying through the air as if they’ve been doing so for centuries.

Jotaro Kujo’s smiling unprompted.

No, seriously, you can tell he’s anticipating something when the tiniest of smiles plays on his lips for no immediate reason. Generally, he also seems less annoyed at the world when he’s feeling excited.

Those are good enough indicators on their own, but there’s also the fact that he talked your ear off about whatever it is he’s looking forward to the night prior.

“Talked your ear off,” by the way, translates to mumbling out no more than four sentences on the matter.

If you were anyone else, they likely wouldn’t notice a difference. But you do, knowing Jotaro better than he knows himself at times.

Achievements and advancements within his career is what often excites him as an adult. A rare visit from an old-friend such as Polnareff is also bound to put him in a good mood. And finally returning home from a long trip away is bound to make his eyes shine.

When he was still a young delinquent, these reactions were policed to the point where he hardly expressed such things in front of you. But after mellowing out, it’s heartwarming to see more genuine displays of his emotions.

(F)uture - What are his plans for the future? Does he see himself getting married, having kids?

Before you, even getting into a romantic relationship wasn’t on his mind at all.

So it’s more likely that you’re the first to bring things up like marriage or children, then he’ll begin to seriously consider it. If he realizes his wants and needs for the future on his own, you’re still what’s going to be on his mind front and center.

For him, his mind is focused on one thing at a time.

After marrying, he’ll one day think to himself, Huh, usually the next step is having kids. Then he’ll contemplate it, wondering if that’s what he wants.

Jotaro’s the type of individual that never saw such a thing for himself out of youthful disinterest.

But as he grew up and found his relationship with you to be the most important thing in his life, he discovered he truly does wish to have a nuclear family.

It scares him a little, even with your ability as a stand user.

He knows all too well that there are plenty of people that want his head for the conflict in Egypt. It’s something you both have invested a lot of time in investigating side-by-side.

But at the end of the day, his trust in you and knowledge that you’re more powerful as a unit that eventually pushes those worries out of the picture.

And ultimately, what’s important to you becomes important to him. So, although he certainly comes to envision settling down and having a family with you, how you feel on the matter is the final word in his eyes.

(G)ifts - What does he give you as presents? How often does he give gifts?

Birthdays, Christmas, Valentine’s Day and anniversaries is pretty much the only time he gives gifts.

Despite not doing it often, he’s attentive enough and knows you to the point where he’s become quite good at it. He’s not afraid to spend a generous amount of money on you either.

And what his gifts lack in frequency, he certainly makes up for in memory.

Jotaro Kujo never forgets a date. The thought of reminding him doesn’t ever pass through your brain because he’s so consistent with it.

He smartly plans ahead on top of that. Meaning, even if he orders you a gift to be delivered to the house, it will always arrive on time. And if it doesn’t, it’s never on him that it didn’t.

(H)old - How does he hold you? Cuddling, sleeping, holding hands…

Holding hands has long been his preferred (and only) form of PDA.

Especially when you were younger and still dating, it was a statement to everyone around you. That yes, you’re both taken and happy to be together.

By the time you both mature into the relationship, it’s already an established habit. Now, he simply does it because he loves you and is happily aquatinted with your fingers intertwined with his.

Yes, part of him still wants everyone to know. But he cares a lot less about his reputation at this point in his life.

When cuddling, he mainly likes holding you close to him rather than it being the other way around. Having your head rest on his chest provides him a sense of comfort that’s irreplaceable.

That said, there are times when he’d like to lean on you or plant his head in your lap. It’s usually after a long, stressful day that he’ll seek out such a thing.

After dinner is usually time for you both to curl up, snuggled together in front of the TV. During the weekend, when neither of you are busy, you’ll find yourselves clinging to each other during the afternoon as well.

He doesn’t much care for cuddling you in bed, though. Jotaro likes to stretch out in his sleep and not be locked into on position the whole night.

“I cuddled with you all day, why would you need me to do it now when I’m trying to sleep?”

Although, if you’ve had a particularly rough day or if you haven’t seen one another for a while, he’ll bring you into his arms at night. Bending his legs forward, he’ll tangle them with yours as he spoons you.

(I)deal - What’s his ideal date like?

Heh, any date with you is ideal, babyboy/babygirl.

Jokes aside, he really doesn’t give a shit.

Planning dates with him may make you want to pull your hair out. He doesn’t care- whatever you want to do works for him.

You want to go out to eat? Fine with him, he’s getting hungry anyways. Want to go watch a movie? No problem; he’ll even pay for your ticket. Or would you rather stay in, curl up together in bed reading beside one another? Perfect, as long as he’s sitting close.

Jotaro doesn’t really understand why you may grow sick of always having to pick, and you’ll likely have to explain it to him.

Whenever he does make plans, it’s almost always something you’ve done together before and therefore is confident you’ll enjoy yourself.

His one no-go for a date is going to an amusement park.

Everything is way overpriced, the lines are too long, and the obnoxious kids littered around the place will set back his desire to have children for years.

(J)ealousy - Does he get jealous easily? How does he handle it?

When you were dating- absolutely.

Not only was he a little more insecure about the future of your relationship, but he also felt the need to keep up his tough-guy persona.

It has always been extremely rare for him to get violent due to jealousy, though.

Instead, he grew dangerously quiet and wrapped an arm around your shoulders protectively.

That said, he wasn’t ever opposed to getting violent. If it ever got to the point where someone was explicitly hitting on you in front of him, one glance at the uncomfortable look on your face, and he’s not afraid to start throwing around vague threats.

In adulthood, and once married, he feels less inclined to posture.

If someone’s hitting on you, he’s more likely to approach the situation calmly and make a point to introduce himself as your husband.

Having a naturally intimidating face doesn’t often lead to others pushing it.

And when he gets jealous in later years, he’s simply going to wait patiently until you get home. Not exactly grow silent like he used to, but shoot you knowing glances instead.

He waits until your both home before doing anything outright. That’s when he’ll grab your hand and lead you to the bedroom. Of course, he knows by now that you love him, but a night of reminding you how much you mean to him certainly doesn’t hurt…

(K)isses - How does he like to kiss you? How often does he kiss you?

For the first month into the relationship, he’d settle for merely kissing you on the cheek.

He’d plant one there, quickly moving away in order to tug the brim of his hat down and cover his face.

You’re likely the one to have instigated the first kiss with him. He didn’t know how to approach; didn’t know how to ask.

After that threshold was broken, he easily prefers on-the-mouth kisses.

Jotaro will still give you kisses on the cheek from time to time, especially in front of family or friends as to not push it PDA wise.

But he’ll likely give you a kiss on the mouth, even if brief, at least once a day. It’s usually after he or you arrive home from work, greeting you with the affectionate action.

Or he’ll give you a quick kiss goodnight before the both of you settle into bed.

Plus, he’s naturally always been a pretty good kisser. Talented bastard.

(L)ove - How does he show you he loves you?

By being a constant presence in your life.

“I’m here, aren’t I? Of course I love you,” he tells you, as if it’s a no-brainer.

He won’t say it out loud, but it’s not just the fact that he’s there, it’s how. Jotaro is very much a show rather than tell type of man.

Acts of service is the primary love language he expresses.

He does your laundry for you unprompted, and in fact, takes care of a lot of the household duties without you needing to ask. He knows you very well, and thus takes care of tasks you know you’ll appreciate not having to do.

He doesn’t make a point of it either. Jotaro rarely boasts about doing such things, and often you’re left to find out on your own.

His deep trust in you is also a way you know he loves you.

With knowing one another for as long as you have, the bond is impossibly strong. Jotaro doesn’t think twice before informing you about his struggles, big or small. Not because he expects you to solve all his problems, but because he values transparency.

(M)elt - What do you do that absolutely makes him melt?

When you respond to his emotions without him needing to say a word, Jotaro’s heart warms.

This once again ties in with how well you know each other.

You’re so good at reading him that he sometimes tricks himself into thinking you may be able to read his mind.

He mentioned it once offhandedly, not even meaning to say it out loud. You’re lighthearted reaction was a little embarrassing for him, but it’s a cherished memory for you.

Not only that, but the fact that you get along seamlessly with his mother honestly brings him a sense of joy he cannot describe.

The only thing he can to think to say on the matter is that family’s important to him. The implication of the statement is implied: You being able to get along with his mother and extended family as well has him melting on the spot.

Bonus points if you’re good with kids too. Namely because Jotaro… is not.

(N)icknames - What does he call you, and what does he like being called?

Not really one for giving pet names, he simply calls you by your name or a preferred nickname.

On rare occasions, when he’s feeling particularly teasing or playful, he’ll call you ‘honey.’ Those moments are few and far between, though.

Other than that, it’s usually just your name he sticks with.

After growing up, and especially after receiving his degree, not many people still refer to him as JoJo. He doesn’t think much of the transition, but he does like it if you still call him JoJo from time to time.

It reminds him of your longtime bond; the nostalgic foundation of friendship you share.

If you like using pet names for him, he’ll roll his eyes and pretend as if he doesn’t like it. That said, he greatly appreciates it if you refer to him by name in front of others or in a serious situation.

(O)bvious - How obvious does he make it that he likes you?

When he was simply harboring a crush on you, it was not at all obvious.

Back during the trip to Egypt, Jotaro’s developing crush went unnoticed. Not even his own grandfather could tell. Hell, Jotaro himself couldn’t even really recognize it at first. It went unnoticed by everyone.

Well, everyone except Kakyoin.

It puts a strain on Jotaro’s heart, remembering it was Kakyoin that first noticed his feelings for you.

The redhead was very respectful about it, but still felt the need to stick his nose in Jotaro’s business in private. Despite him denying the crush up and down, Kakyoin’s encouragement still got to him a bit in the end.

During rough nights, where the past is painfully kept in the front of his mind, Jotaro wonders if him becoming just a little more obvious with his affection for you is done in part as some sort of way to prove himself to his departed friend.

(P)ets - Does he have pets? Does he want them?

Jotaro is so the definition of someone who swears up and down he doesn’t want a pet, yet ultimately ends up loving one unconditionally.

If you want one, he’ll dig his heels into the dirt for months. He’s too busy, you’re too busy… all prepackaged excuses for why it wouldn’t be a good idea.

But you eventually convince him to get one, the stoic man finally relenting with a long sigh.

He prefers dogs over any other kind of pet, so if that’s what you want, it’ll be slightly easier to convince him.

Without ever even trying to do so, it’s him who becomes the pet’s favorite.

The closeness is what leads him to giving in and only admitting to himself that he likes the pet. He’ll never admit it to you (as if you can’t tell); far too stubborn for his own good.

Jotaro has a one-pet-at-a-time policy, though. That’s nonnegotiable.

(Q)uiet - How are the calm, quiet moments with him?

To be honest, it’s a staple of your relationship.

Jotaro finally considered it love once fully wrapping his head around the fact that neither of you felt the need to always be making conversation with one another.

Comfortable silence is cherished by him. Whether you’ve always been the same, or come to have understood that with time, the fact that you’ve come to embrace that aspect of his personality led him to opening himself up to you more during conversations.

Quieter moments occur a lot during the weekend, when there’s no work and only relaxing. You also just enjoy each other’s company without much talking when getting ready for bed.

Sometimes, he doesn’t even say goodnight to you.

Instead, he gently tugs a few strands of hair from your face and cups your jaw momentarily. A gentle glimmer within his pupils reveal much more than any words could express.

The quietness and tranquility present in a lot of the time you spend together is part of his assessment in realizing you were the one.

(R)omance - How romantic is he? What is his go-to ways of being romantic?

…Romantic? Jotaro…?

He’s really responsive to your preferences in romance. Well, depending on how you present them.

He’s no mind-reader and not exactly the best at observing others. Remember the Yellow Terence arc? Yeah… he’s not exactly a detective. If you want him to take a different approach in how romantic he is, subtly nudging him in the right direction isn’t going to work.

Instead, telling him directly what it is you like is much easier for him to wrap his head around. Jotaro never takes such comments personally, seeing as being upfront is preferable for him.

A year or two into the relationship, and he’s much better acquainted with what you like best.

Confident he understands you well, it naturally brings out a more romantic side of him. He’s only deeply observant with those closest to him (think Holly), so once you both reach that point, it brings out a surprisingly sweeter side of him.

(S)afe - What makes him feel safe and comfortable around you?

Once again, it’s got a lot to do with your history together.

Jotaro knows he can rely on you. He’s been keenly aware of your reliability since the late 80s.

Safety for Jotaro means tranquility, and a deep sense of comfort- along with a familiar environment. You provide him these warm feelings; seemingly just by your very presence.

When the two of you are at home together, it doesn’t matter what you’re doing, he’s perfectly content. Simply glancing in your direction grounds him, and can calm buried anxieties.

That’s all he really needs to feel safe: You.

Visiting Morioh turns out to be a far more long and arduous task than either of you originally expected. But with you at his side, Jotaro rarely felt himself getting too worked up.

Spending late nights together at the hotel was all he needed to reset his brain, able to start the next day without much complaint over spending his time with unruly teenagers.

(T)end - How does he act when you’re hurt/sick, and vise versa?

If anyone hurts you, they may as well count their days. It doesn’t necessarily matter if you’re assertive all on your own; Jotaro’s going to have something (at the very least) to say.

Hell, knowing him, if someone’s troubling you all he usually has to do is look in their general direction. His entire demeanor gives off the impression of “Don’t fuck with me” and he’s all for standing up for you.

Even during the trip to Egypt, he seemed much looser with his grip on his temper when you were put into the line of fire.

If you’re sick, Jotaro’s surprisingly doting.

He’s extremely adamant that you stay home and rest up. Any reason you may have to get out of bed he’ll take care of himself without question.

If he can’t be there to take care of you (likely due to work), he’ll call once or twice while he’s gone just to check in on how you’re doing.

It’s quite ironic, considering how he acts when hurt or sick.

“I’m not sick,” he’ll insist in a scratchy voice, despite a reddened face and clearly runny nose.

“I’m fine.” Yeah, sure, Jotaro. Never mind the deep gash actively gushing blood all over his left arm.

Attempts to take care of him in anyway will be met with pushback, no matter how old he gets.

One reminder of how much he babies you when you’re feeling unwell is all it usually takes for him to begrudgingly accept your offer to help.

He’ll be silent throughout, but his refusal to look you in the eye is a dead giveaway that he secretly likes being taken care of every now and then.

(U)nique - What’s an unusual thing about him that’s oddly charming?

“JoJo… do you need something?”

“No.”

“Then why’re you staring at me?”

“I’m not.”

“You’ve been looking at me for the past ten minutes!”

(V)ariety - Does he prefer to keep the same routine, or spice things up?

Jotaro is a creature of habit.

He certainly likes to keep a usual routine. Having a familiar structure makes him feel comfortable and as though his life is maintaining stability.

Too many surprises or shocking events happening at once is at best annoying for him, and downright unnerving at worst.

He is a little conscious of this aspect of himself; part of him worries you may grow board of him.

That worry is unfounded, though. Especially considering something new or a shake up to the usual routine is accepted by him if you’re the one to do so. He’s so naturally considerate that he doesn’t even think of that being a factor.

Luckily for the both of you, it’s not difficult for you to ease his worries.

(W)ild Card - A random fluff headcanon

Jotaro’s a big fan of manga and usually invests his free time in catching up on his favorite series’s anime incarnations.

He’s been reading Shonen since he was young, and that interest carries over into his adult years.

Jotaro will certainly sit you down and make ask you to watch his some of his favorite anime with him. Saturday afternoons is his favorite time to curl up next to you on the couch and watch for a few hours.

Definitely the type to always sneak peaks at your reactions out of the corner of his eye. He hardly is the type to speak during a show or movie, but is glad to discuss with you after the fact. Please, discuss with him after the fact.

If you’re also into manga and anime before meeting him, he’s internally overjoyed. However, he is a bit critical.

Not to the point of being rude, but certainly dismissive of it at first if your tastes don’t exactly align with his. Jotaro has taste, and is quite proud of his selections. It may come off as a bit elitist… because it is.

He loosens up with time, and may even give some of your favorites a chance. He will never admit out loud to actually liking them, even after you catch him intently watching an anime of your suggestion on his own.

(X)OXO - Is he affectionate in public? How much PDA does he show?

Despite not being too outwardly affectionate or into PDA, everyone close to him can easily tell you’re together once a relationship is formed.

Joseph cheekily goes on and on about how he “totally saw this coming” (no he didn’t). Polnareff is patting the both of you on the back with a big, goofy grin (his world is crashing around him).

When the Duwang gang first met you, the teens of the group were going mental upon the realization that… holy shit… he’s married… !?

The group’s bewilderment was mostly kept to internal struggles due to both Jotaro’s harsh expression at any question relating to how on earth he managed to marry such a lovely individual.

Josuke specifically thought he was going to have a stroke. Unlike the others, he’s much more prone to speaking his mind even after the implicit warning.

After getting over his initial shock, he’ll berate his nephew for not previously telling him about his partner.

(Y)earning - How does he cope when he’s missing you?

It takes everything in him not to call you.

He holds out the first day of you being gone. It’s no trouble that he’s cooking without your presence, not at all. Ignoring the fact that he’s eating dinner without you cheerily filling him in on your day is no problem. Getting ready for bed alone is no big deal.

Yeah… definitely.

Jotaro will lay himself down in bed, facing your usually taken up side. He’ll find his hand reaching out m at the empty space, fingers curling around the sheets. A frown finds its way onto his tired face.

He’s calling you the next day. And after finally caving, he’s sure to give you a call each day or every other day after that.

Past events has made him wary of being separated from you for too long. And even though he logically knows he’s fussing over nothing, he still cannot help but cave to the small worry growing in the back of his mind.

That said, it isn’t too difficult for him to distract himself from missing you.

But being alone during moments that he’d usually share with you is enough to remind him of your absence.

(Z)eal - Is he willing to go to great lengths for the relationship? If so, what kind of?

Yes, he will undoubtedly go to great lengths for you.

One could argue that, having been a part of the Crusaders yourself, an aspect of his actions against DIO were also influenced by a desire to avenge you as well as the others.

Jotaro isn’t above getting violent in your behalf, and would certainly jump through several hoops as long as your safe.

Part of this is because there’s an unspoken mutual understanding that you’d do the same for him (and you certainly have).

But more than that, Jotaro has a small circle of individuals that he would likely do just about anything for. And after everything the both of you have been through together, you’re at the top of that list.

He's not that much of a talker but despite his rough exterior he loves to hear you voice

Something about it calms him and reminds him that you're here with him

So he get pissed when other people talk over you

He knows your quiet especially around others so he wants you to be heard as much as possible

"Hey! They were talking so shut the hell up and listen."

He understands that talking loud doesn't always mean you should be heard

He knows you have a lot to say, you're smart and kind, it's just hard to get others to hear sometimes

He's not the loudest person himself but he is quite chatty and wants you to be a part of the conversation as much as you want to

"*ahem* as you were saying dear"

Gives you space to talk and death glares anyone who interrupts you

Once again despite his calm and cool exterior he's totally unhinged on the inside

He finds your voice like music to his ears and could listen to you go for hours

Which is why he get upset when other people don't appreciate it

Every time you get interrupted he get more and more upset

"Once again I believe *they* were speaking"

Even if other don't listen he makes it very clear he is and only looks at you

But if you get talked over enough he gets fed up and threatens the other for having the Gaul to be rude to his significant other

Another season, another round of D A T E S with some of our faves. HAPPY FALL AND SHIT, Y’ALL.

bruno bucciarati ; farmer’s market

Bruno had always loved the hustle and bustle of the farmer's market. Amidst a cacophony of hellos, he would blaze a trail of taste testing and sightseeing, taking in all the market had to offer. Today, you were by his side as he showed you his favorite stalls. "That one over there," he says, pointing one hand and gently resting the other on your shoulder, "has divine maple butter pastries. The farmer makes them fresh every morning." He ushers you to another stall, dotted with bouquets and fairy lights even in the gentle light of morning. "And this one has flowers that are homegrown here in Napoli, picked at the break of dawn."

The sight of such a diverse array of flowers catches you off guard – mums painted with deep burgundy, sunflowers soaked in the last vestiges of early autumn sun. Bruno hums over the selection and plucks a violet dahlia; its center is smattered with brilliant gold. He tucks it behind your ear and smiles warmth down at you – undoubtedly, the most beautiful flower of them all.

leone abbacchio ; fall shopping

At the craft fair, the fragrance of candles poured with apples, leaves, and candy corn float through endless rows of fall decor. Leone wrinkles his nose as you enter a particularly robust row, and casually takes your hand in his. It’s calloused and rough; the arbiter of a small token of affection doled out in carefully placed intervals. It’s ok – you don’t mind. “Why do people make these damn candles so strong?” he grumbles to himself. However, a small, white pumpkin tufted from scratchy felt steals his attention. He picks it up with his other hand, inspecting it as he holds it up to the crisp light of the low autumn sun. “This is cute,” he says under his breath, almost loathe in his admittance. “Let’s put it on our mantle. It'll look nice above the fire.”

gyro zeppeli ; bonfires & s’mores

"No no no," Gyro titters at you. "You have to smush it like this." He presses his palms together, melding gooey layers of graham cracker, scorched marshmallow, and rich milk chocolate. "The flavors have to bloom!" he continues, stressing each word as he gesticulates. "They have to bloom and grow, so you can stick it in your mouth for it explode with a big boom from the taste of it and–"

You stare at Gyro, mouth agape, as he waxes poetic about the wonders of s'mores technique. The bonfire he so skillfully built was licking its flames to the night sky, acting like it was protesting his lecture. Shadows play across his face, but you notice something amidst the embers' glow.

"Gyro," you interrupt.

"What?"

"You have chocolate on your nose."

"I do?" He swoops in to bring his face close to yours, and playfully rubs the tip of his nose against your own. "Well, so do you."

jotaro kujo ; apple cider

Quiet mornings are always spent together, perusing the daily newspaper on the porch. Morning fog sets the scene, rolling over fireburnt foliage and quaint cottages to douse the horizon with a cozy, picturesque atmosphere. Jotaro looks across at you, deep in the headlines of today's paper. He takes note of your concentration – brows furrowed, eyes scanning, and lips parted and soft from the touch of apple cider kissed along them. His own mug is warm and steaming, with tendrils of heat unfurling to befriend the rolling fog. Eyes still on you, he lifts his mug to his mouth. He takes a moment to relish the taste – but its sweetness holds no candle to the sacred ritual of sharing his mornings with you.

josuke higashikata ; pumpkin patch

With all the countenance of an overexcited puppy, Josuke tugs on the hem of your marigold sweater to pull you in the direction of the hayrides. He drags you over rows of pumpkins dusted with nighttime dew; vines snag your ankles as the crunch of leaves lead you to a farmtruck stuffed with bales of hay. Easy as could be, he grabs your waist and lifts you clean off your feet, settling you onto the back of the truck. The low full moon shines its favor on the both of you when you share a tender gaze.

“Are you ready?” he asks, gently resting his hands on your knees while his cheeks bloom with blush. “As I’ll ever be,” you respond with a smile, reaching your hand out to him. He smiles back, wide and beautiful, as he takes your hand to climb aboard and join you.

vinegar doppio/diavolo ; haunted house

Trembling like a fieldmouse at harvest, Doppio latches onto your arm. "I bet another monster is going to hop out any minute," he laments. "I can't take this!" He buries his face into your shoulder and rubs it, wiping away the tears threatening to spill. "We shouldn't have came…"

You reach up to stroke the wild pink fluorescence of Doppio’s hair while you both round a corner into a small and empty room. "They're just actors!" you say, laughing in jest. "Don't worry, I'll protect you."

All Doppio could do was quiver in the dim light of the haunted house; he whimpers and grips you tighter. "I mean… I could protect you too, you know."

"Is that so?"

You swore you could see a familiar glint in his eye. Doppio nods, and his body starts to grow larger as he does so. You lean back when you feel a heavy presence – though at this point, you supposed you were used to it.

A muscular arm pushes you against the wall to trap you between a rock and a hard place. Who you knew as Diavolo was now pressed against you, with his arm bracing the wall to cage you in. "Oh?" says a deep voice. "What’s this?” His tone is smooth and dangerous, and the touch of his trailing hand evaporates down your cheek. "Lost in a sea of wolves, little lamb?"

diego brando ; trick or treat

“This is stupid.”

Diego huffs as he enters the room, clad in a comically oversized dinosaur suit from head to toe. "Remind me again, why am I doing this?"

In your Jurassic Park ranger costume, you giggle at the sight of Diego, who so courteously succumbed to your request. "Look at you, oh my god!" you say excitedly. "You'll be a hit at all the houses! We're gonna get so much candy, just you watch."

Diego waddles over to you, and you can practically see the scowl on his face through his getup. "I can barely breathe," he complains. "What a stupid tradition."

"It'll be fun, I promise. And you can always take off your little dino head, you know.”

No more permission is needed – he pulls it off with zero hesitation. “Done,” he says, making his way to the overflowing candy bowl in your foyer. "An hour is my absolute limit, mind you."

You follow alongside him, pouting and affectionately pinching his cheek. "Aw, Diego – a little bit longer? Please? For me?"

He picks up a miniature candy bar and tosses it in the air. With a deft hand he grabs it, then squeezes it out its wrapper, sending it flying to catch in his mouth. “Well, if it's for you I suppose I could," he says through a mouthful of sickly sweet chocolate. "Right. Let’s get on with it, then.”

Tongue peeking out in concentration, Giorno carves into the delicate stencil pasted on his pumpkin. Ambitious as always, the pattern is intricate – inlaid with roses aplenty and labor intensive vines. The only sounds in the room are hushed breaths and the drag of carving knives ripping into the pumpkins' soft flesh.

"How's it coming?" you ask, peering over your own pumpkin.

"Almost there," Giorno replies, with his eyes trained on his handiwork. "How about you?

“Uh…” You take a moment to tilt your head and appraise your progress. It’s a bit jagged and roughshod, but it still retains the likeness of a classic jack o'lantern.

Giorno scoots over in his chair and leans into your shoulder to take a peek for himself. “Looking spooky,” he says with a half grin. “I love it.”

“Thanks!” you say, as you go back to hacking into its eye. “But honestly, this part is a little tough to cut through. Do you mind giving me a hand?”

He places his hand on top of yours, grasping your keyhole saw alongside you, and presses a gentle kiss into your temple. “Allow me,” he says, melting all of your woes in one fell swoop.

noriaki kakyoin ; apple picking

A dappling of light scatters through a grove of apple trees. The air is fresh and crisp; your baskets overflow with apples speckled in sap. The best part of it all, is getting a lift on Noriaki’s shoulders – a far better option than scrambling up wooden ladders laden with splints.

From your perch, he runs his hands down your calves, looking up in adoration to observe as you pluck a particularly juicy looking apple. After a small wiggle to position yourself, you tug the fruit from its spot on the branch. It falls into your hand with a satisfying plop.

“That one’s pretty big,” he notes. “Maybe we should eat that one first.”

“A good plan, I think,” you say. You give it a quick wipe on your sleeve, then bend over so you can present it in front of his mouth. He smiles with serenity, appreciative of your offer. His eyes lock on yours as he tilts his head forward, sinking his teeth into the ripe flesh. A trickle of juice runs down the side of his mouth, and he can’t help but laugh through the burst of apple. Everything always tastes better when it's with you.

caesar zeppeli & joseph joestar ; soapmaking

The hustle and bustle of people milling around your soapmaking class was the perfect diversion for Joseph’s latest caper – which was to annoy you and Caesar. Simply put, it was business as usual.

Caesar slipped on a pair of gloves, but the looming figure behind him snatched his attention from pouring his lye. “I can see you, Jojo,” he said, looking over his shoulder in annoyance. “We can both see you.”

Your head was also turned – you were well versed enough to recognize Joseph’s ways. His face stretched in a wide, suspicious smile, and his hands remained hidden behind his back. "No need to get your eyes checked, then!” he exclaimed in a singsong voice, cheesy as ever. “Look at my two favorite lovely people, being so cute, making the best soap–”

Caesar rolled his eyes and turned back to his work. Leaning over to you, he spoke, “If we ignore him, he just might go away.”

“Caesar,” Joseph whined, “I’m right here! I can hear you!”

“Good,” said Caesar.

Joseph whipped his arms from behind his back, brandishing a heart-shaped bar of soap in each hand. "Fine," he pouted. "I was going to give you two these, but since you're being so mean…"

Your heart melted on sight. Though they looked… suspicious, to say the least, they were still a token of Joseph's affection. "That's so cute, Jojo!" you exclaimed happily.

"Yeah, yeah, yeah," grumbled Caesar – but he couldn't even begin to hide the blush spreading across his cheeks.

Now, Jotaro’s pretty much the definition of “Don’t care, didn’t ask”

It’s not that he genuinely doesn’t care out of callousness, but he simply doesn’t feel like it affects him much, nor does it cause any difference in the way he treats them

He does secretly enjoy the fact that they’re closer in age, and so finds it easier to come to them and listen to their tips and tricks for not getting swindled or lost in Cairo

They know the fastest routes to take, the cheapest but best kebda w sogo’ stands, and the most laidback ahwa shops for them to enjoy when they’re resting between stops; something Jotaro greatly appreciates

Stressed as he is, Jotaro can’t deny the fact that he feels his heart twitch in his chest with fondness whenever they share a few drags of shisha at night amidst the bustle of the city

Kakyoin’s usual nonchalance is curbed aside, since his curiosity and inquisitive nature pull him to them

He wants to learn more about their customs and traditions; wants to understand their lifestyle and try his best to fit in—and what better way to do that than to turn to the person who indulges him on his every whim?

Perhaps it’s because Kakyoin happens to be a good listener that they find themself going off on a tangent about how the nightlife comes alive in certain areas for “propriety”, and how revolutionaries wait patiently for their time before the country collapses and carry it on their shoulders, and so much more

When he isn’t keenly absorbing all that information, he’s asking them to teach him how to play tawla, and reveling in the feeling of slowly getting better at the game

He does feel a certain warmth in his face and tummy when he sees the proud smile on their face as they observe him picking up on everything they teach him

Polnareff didn’t care either, but for an entirely different reason: he was set on wooing them eitherways

He’d try to charm them with all the weapons he had in his arsenal, but for an Egyptian who’s so used to it, it’s kind of hard to impress them with flowery words and gestures

What does win them over is his chivalry, which flatters them more than anything; something they intend to repay by taking them to the most affordable but comfortable accommodations they know, which Polnareff is thrilled by

Given his friendship with Avdol, Polnareff definitely goes to them to learn Egyptian cursewords so he can exasperate the man even more (“Erm, pardon, but why does this one refer to someone’s mother’s genitals—“)

Seeing how reliable they are in their current setting definitely endears them even more to him, because it’s well-known that Polnareff finds strength and kindness immensely attractive

Avdol’s pretty much internally weeping with relief at the fact that he’s got another Egyptian with him, given the fact that the others have probably publicly humiliated him on more than one occasion with their lack of awareness

It’s safe to say that there’s a very high possibility that Avdol comes out of this experience with them permanently by his side—and whether as a lifelong friend, or as a permanent partner, it’s entirely up to them

They just get each other; he knows just when they need to take a break from guiding the others and need to unwind with a few cups of shay be laban with him, he knows when they want to cuss out the entire trip in the filthiest choice of words to the one man who can laugh with them, and he knows when they wish to indulge in some termes bel shatta by the Nile Corniche, happily munching and spitting out the shells as they trek closer to the mansion

Avdol’s finely attuned to their wants and needs, and they do the same to him—something that pulls forth all the affections he has burrowed in his chest, and he finds himself enjoying the way they dote on him with twinkling eyes and a knowing smile

The feeling that they’re always sharing an inside joke is what makes Cairo feel more like home than ever, and Avdol doesn’t want to let go of that feeling any time soon

Joseph is… definitely a handful, given that he sometimes unknowingly acts like a typical white old man, whose actions can sometimes come across as tone-deaf or thoughtless

They do know that he doesn’t mean it, though, and that he’s actively trying to unlearn the stereotypes he’s used to, so they take the time to patiently teach him all the right customs and traditions, and correct him on his misconceptions

It’s their kindness that touches him the most; their almost-selflessness shows him just how much they care about him, especially when it’s something as simple as finding him his favorite beer in an obscure Drinkies shop, or replacing his tattered gloves with handmade leather ones from El Wekala

Knowing the city like the back of their hand also increases Joseph’s soft spot for them, seeing as how he tends to get lost among the similar looking streets and hawary, and they always drag him back via the most accessible shortcuts

Joseph smiles wistfully as he sees their youthfulness and the way their presence brightens their dreary group just a little more, and he loses himself in whatever they drag him into, knowing he’d love it anyways

A/n: A chill list of headcanons that came to me at 6 in the morning. Jokes aside, I loved putting this together. Although I admit I am a bit biased since I’ve always loved retro music. I did my best to pick music that coincided with the music the characters each canonically listen to (at least, as far as we’re told).

Canonically speaking, Jotaro’s favorite musician is Toshinobu Kubota. It’s admittedly a rather interesting choice for a man who was a dedicated delinquent in high school.

But music tends to touch people in a special, often times sensitive, manner. And despite looking and acting the way he does, Jotaro’s music preferences are no different.

Yeah, sure, he’s definitely a “whatever’s on the radio” kind of guy, but he has taste.

Separated from others, when he’s in control of the music he’s listening to, his choices give the impression of a casual listener that somehow always has the best picks seemingly with no effort put in at all. Perfectly on brand for Jotaro.

Therefore, he’s likely going to have an unexpected pick.

Therefore, he picks a sappy ballad from an under-appreciated 80s movie. Not because he’s even seen The Labyrinth by any stretch of the imagination, but because he just… likes how it sounds.

He likely heard it one way or another, completely detached from the movie itself, and decided he enjoyed it. Something about the slightly cheesy yet instrumentally enchanting tune gets stuck in his head in a really good way.

There is a reason past “oh, it just sounds nice” as to why he picked it but let’s be honest… he’s going to get a little embarrassed annoyed if he has to explain to you in full detail.

The title pretty much speaks for itself, in his opinion.

Whether or not you actually like Sting it’s hard to argue against the fact that Kakyoin likely has an overall shit taste in music. Why is this the case? Because he’s been alone the majority of his life and didn’t have any friends to bully him over it.

Not having anyone around him to say “what the hell is this” or just a simple “no” will and has effected him.

He’s the type of guy who claim’s “this album will change your life” before putting on some of the worst pieces of music you’ve ever heard.

Not that he isn’t trying, keep in mind.

This man will stress about what to suggest for days on end. He’s going to take the longest compared to the others in how how much time it takes him to pick. It’ll eat away at his brain, threatening to take every bit of his sanity unless he can think of what he deems as the perfect song he can choose.

And still he manages to not only choose an extremely predictable wedding song, but an insanely creepy one as well.

It’s weirdly charming, in his own odd Noriaki way.

He likely didn’t know what he was doing at the beginning of the relationship due to inexperience, and it’s probably heartwarming to know some things never change.

And it’s completely possible the stalker-ish lyrics of the song didn’t click inside his brain. Not because he doesn’t understand the lyrics per se… but because the poor guy hardly had a grasp on what was actually considered romantic when you first met.

Please, for your own sanity, don’t let the song played at your wedding be one that he picked (with hindsight he’ll probably thank you for it too).

Jean Pierre Polnareff

Polnareff’s favorite musician isn’t ever canonically specified, but it’s made pretty clear he’s likely a fan of The Beatles. And considering he went through puberty during the 70s, he’s likely going to lean into that era of music.

Generally speaking, he’s got decent taste. Sure, he’s got the music taste of a white suburban father, but his picks are usually pretty agreeable.

That said, he’s definitely a little high and mighty about it.

He won’t go off on the subject too hard whenever you’re around, but he thinks very highly of his preferences. Polnareff’s a huge victim of nostalgia, and a part of him feels a little elitist for having grown up in the time period that he did.

He has had the song for his first dance picked out in the back of his mind for years, swearing that it would be played at his wedding at some point or another.

Hell, he’s probably got a full roster of music in mind for the reception.

For such a monumental occasion, he’s sure to pick a ballad that starts off slow but crescendos into the chorus- easily the type of romantic tune he’d prefer.

And unlike the others, you may get pushback from him if you don’t want that as your first dance. He’s quite stubborn, generally speaking, and this is no exception to that.

Ultimately though, he would eventually cave and do just about anything you want.

But as stated before, he’s had his mind set on this one for literal years. So certainly expect this to be a somewhat tough conversation to have with him if you prefer something different.

Muhammad Avdol

Avdol’s music taste is left as a complete mystery in canon.

However, because he runs his own shop, he’s fairly attached to the calming instrumentals he often keeps on at the store. Avdol understands atmosphere well and takes it very seriously.

When he’s not working, it’s not very often that he finds himself listening to music.

But when he does, it’s usually music with soft or ethereal overtones (you cannot tell me he doesn’t listen to Enya). Throw in some charming oldies from the 50s and 60s, and Avdol’s in his element.

To put it simply, easy-listening tunes are his freaking jam.

He also enjoys listening to music from all across the world. Avdol is likely well-traveled, and is undoubtedly knowledgeable on other places and cultures. So the preference comes naturally to him.

He’s going to pick something very romantic and slow. A song that, even if you maybe haven’t heard it before, upon the first time listening you just know it’s meant to be played at a wedding.

And, unlike the others, it would take him less than 24 hours to have made his choice. It’s not that he doesn’t put care into the decision, he just doesn’t like making you wait. He’s quite efficient when it’s something this important.

Regardless, he’s the most flexible of the group when it comes to your tastes, so anything you want is perfectly fine with him.

That said, it has to be a ballad. That’s his main request. Avdol’s eager for your input, sure, but he’s going to want to slow dance with you more than anything else.
