It's been like almost a full week since episode 8 came out and WOW. Just WOW.
The fight with Ares was exactly how I imagined it as a child and more. The way Percy immediately got his ass headed to him only to go full Moana perfection. Also the actor for Ares is a former WWE wrestler, so when Percy is like I wanna fight i'm like boy he will break your skull.
Alecto maybe a bitch but she's one of the cool ones and possibly in my top ten of antagonists who aren't really antagonists they just have different morals.
Did I cry when Annabeth gave Percy her necklace? Yes. They quoted the scene of her giving it to him, word for word.
Luke teaching Percy to sword fight and give him advice was so cute only to be riped to shreds at the climax, but we'll get there.
Olympus looks like something out of a video game and to be honest, I don't really like it that much because it doesn't really give me this is the land of the gods. It looks gorgeous, but not something i'd for this show. I personally prefer the one for the movie. I know sue me, but it gave more of what ancient Greece would have actually looked like. One of three things the movie did right. BUT the throne room spot on ten out of ten.
Also Zeus just chilling in his throne waiting for Percy, beautiful. The actors whole demeanor while playing Zeus is so intemanating yet ignorant. This maybe one my favorite irradiation of Zeus. But the way Poseidon protected Percy from Zeus AND surrendered to Zeus for his son, someone just one the Best godly parent of the year award. This meeting or reunion of Percy and Poseidon was too perfecto. Percy calling Poseidon dad in ANCIENT GREEK no less. Also the way how Poseidon holds him self while talking to Percy you can see the pain, fearfullness, and proudness all in the actors face. The cast in this is so good. You can also see how Poseidon just wants to scoop Percy up in a hug and protect him. Why does this show play with my heart strings.
The batrayal is prefect. With everything to Percy's realization in the way Luke looks at Annabeth when she reveals herself. This is better then using the scorpion because it adds more emotional depth and you can feel just the pain coming from Luke. Also when Percy was like we met your father and Luke just snapped. I got chills but also laughed out loud because if Lin was my father i'd have issues too.
I bawled when the trip split up at the end, all of them have grown so much. Also Annabeth going to Disney World, you know that's the photo the Percy will have in his notebook, guaranteed. Also Grover's searcher license being a flower is too adorable.
The reunion between Sally and Percy also destroyed me. It was all the emotions. As I said before this show is phenomenal and it wouldn't be anything with its cast. Where's the award for this show gods Damit.
Cronos just invading Percy's dream and Percy just going full Persassy on his dusty titan ass was perfect. Not Sally with the Dream Journal though. Also I'm probably the only one, but I forgot that Percy was Seventh grade.
The ending with Gabe becoming stone not because Sally had enough, but because of his disrespect and lack of being a decent human being was what he deserved.
In total I cried 7 times probably because I can't believe this season is over. This show is full of so much passion and you can feel it. It has some faults was piece of media adapting a popular series doesn't, but this does the books justice and it intorduces the story to a wider audience. Though a longer episode count would be much appreciated.
If this doesn't get a award I throwing hands anyways, good morrow fellow fans, hyperfixators, and all the others in between.

(some) Riordanverse characters (bc I never read TKC) and which Hogwarts House I think they would be in
Warning: this is a long one
Tumblr media
Nico: the dude is definitely Gryffindor without a doubt. Like Sorting isn't about some traits and some characteristics, it's about core personality. He may have gone through some of the roughest stuff when he was 10-12, and he was resentful and bitter, but he was brave and bold af throughout everything he did. From learning about his powers, to using them relentlessly despite knowing how exhausted he is afterwards, to his willingness to do whatever is necessary to do what has to be done, because it has to be done. You can't change my mind that he's Gryffindor lol.
Grover: Do I even need to explain why he's Gryffindor? He's a satyr, and even if we're shown strong satyrs, they're not really supposed to be brave fighters. Yet he is one of the strongest, bravest nature spirits we've ever encountered in the Riordanverse, and one of the bravest in general. Like he's so passionate about doing what is good, he's a hero, and the only thing he doesn't match with common Gryffindors is that he's humble and as far from arrogant as could be possible, but it doesn't take his courage away.
Hazel: She's Gryffindor, and core personality-wise, she and Nico are very much alike. They don't ever think about themselves, like Hazel really always does what has to be done, no matter the cost, I mean she literally died preventing Gaea to rise the first time, and she freed Thanatos while believing he would take her back to the Underworld. She's brave af, and she has one of the most strong willpower we've seen in the Riordanverse. She's a passionate hero, and she's the closest thing to a real knight in shining armor.
Lester: I'm gonna place him in Gryffindor because I don't think he fits in in the other houses lmao. That said, as Apollo he's very shitty, but as Lester, he's one of the most courageous people. He's grown so much, he's so willing to actually do stuff now, and sacrifice everything to do what's right, including his life, even if he doesn't know he's gonna survive. Hell, he really went most of TTT with an incredibly painful wound that nearly turned him undead, and he cared more for the future of Camp Jupiter than his own life. Additionally, he's a bit arrogant and cocky, but he truly means well, I love Lester so much.
Clarisse: Look look, all I have to say is that no one could have pulled off less than half the stuff Clarisse has done, she's so Gryffindor it hurts. She's reckless and impulsive, but she's driven by her passion to do good, even if she's the daughter of war, and was bullied by her own father. She's daring, she's bold and she is the hero. She's also arrogant and thinks she can solve everything by herself, something characteristic more of the canon Gryffindors in the books, rather than what the fans have shaped. In fact, she's very much like Gryffindors in the books, who are actually very rude to other houses and think they're the best. Still, at heart, she's in this house.
Alex: I'm in a huge dilemma about where to put them, but I reckon they'd fit pretty fine in Gryffindor. Not only are they daring and courageous, they're proud of who they are, but not in a too full of themselves kind of way, rather in a 'I am who I am, and if you can't accept me, fuck off' kind of way. They can get carried away rather easily though, and very arrogant, thinking they don't need anyone else, when they do in fact need some company. They are one of the kindest and at the same time most ambitious characters we've met, but they are brave beyond understanding in a very personal way, thus, Gryffindor.
Tumblr media
Percy: I think it's fair to say he'd be Hufflepuff, because loyalty is literally his fucking fatal flaw, and he is the kindest sweetheart to all those who deserve it, he goes out of his way to help those who need help, whether that be mortals, halfbloods, gods, magical creatures or even his own enemies. He's too good for this world, and even if he's grown a bit bitter, he always looks to fight justly for what is right, and never loses faith in others. That, and the fact that he turned down immortality so that the olympians were more inclusive of minor gods, and their children were treated better. He's just a lovely soul, he's like 80% Hufflepuff so that's enough for me. All that and he's stubborn as hell.
Jason: Hufflepuff. Just, undoubtedly Hufflepuff. Like he seems to be this cold and self centered hero with a superiority complex (bc of all the son of Jupiter stuff) but he's the softest guy there is. Not only is he hardworking, open minded and kind, he appreciates justice but he doesn't seek for revenge or anything, he makes sure people are treated fairly and wants everyone to be accepted. Proof of that is how he continued Percy's job of including more gods, and made sure Nico felt comfortable with who he was. He truly has a heart of gold. (He deserved better btw)
Meg: God I can't decide between Hufflepuff and Gryffindor, but I think I'll go with the former. She's so strong, my baby, she's faced so much wrong, but she's still so kind and understanding of others, especially those who deserve kindness. She puts up such a hard facade, but she's so patient and warm and inclusive. She's brave and strong (as strong as the big three kids, if not stronger), but she's also so loyal to her beliefs despite how she was forced someone else's beliefs for years, so I'll keep her in Hufflepuff. Also, she's stubborn af, and she can be lazy, so that settles it.
Will: I KNOW some people will say Will could be in other houses that are not Hufflepuff, BUT I won't have it any other way. Will is literally the warmest person ever. He is kind and sympathetic and enthusiastic and patient and inclusive. Like Helga Hufflepuff would take one look at him and lose her shit screaming "mine". He's the guy who saw the son of Hades so many people were scared of and immediately grabbed his hand and transfered him some warmth and didn't let him go ahead and get himself killed. He's also the one who everyone loves and likes, so much that Clarisse gets along with him and he can calm her down. He's the ideal Hufflepuff, you can't change my mind.
Magnus: I mean, what else can you expect from the son of the god of summer? He's literally a guy who heals others with warmth. He's also the guy who spent years on the street with the most difficult situations, and accepts every single person the way they are. He's inclusive af, and tolerant of everything. He's the guy who's closest include a deaf elf, a Muslim valkyrie, and a black dwarf, and he's dating a genderfluid person. Yes he's brave, and he's kinda smart, and he's ambitious, BUT none of those qualities overpower his Hufflepuff nature.
Tumblr media
Piper: Kinda debated whether Gryffindor or Ravenclaw fits more, but in the end I went with Ravenclaw. Even though she isn't a fighter, she's very very brave, yet her bravery isn't compared to her wits. Like others in the PJOverse, she wins her fights by outsmarting her opponents, but unlike others that's one of her strongest traits. She's witty and creative and a little on the negative side, she really struggled to work in a group rather than by herself. On another note, she's able to keep calm in crazy situations and come up with the craziest most unthinkable solutions (I'm talking borderline ridiculous) that always somehow work. She's not booksmart, but she knows so much about everything, and she's lifesmart you know?
Reyna: Why are some of these so hard? Deeply debating whether she'd be Ravenclaw or Slytherin. In the end I'd go more for Ravenclaw though. Reyna's smart as hell, she's strong and sharp, and she always sees the best way out of a situation. She's witty and observant, being able to keep her cool in battle and lead others in the best direction. She's always looking to grow, and she prefers to do things on her own, but she's a great leader. She has some Slytherin qualities, and she's not learning as learning oriented as others, but she's definitely Ravenclaw.
Sam: Let's face it, Sam has the only active neurons in all of MCGA, she's definitely Ravenclaw. I'm gonna be honest though, I've only read MCGA once, so I can't remember much of their personalities, but Sam is witty and clever, pretty much the only one who can come up with competent plans, while the others rely mostly on luck and whatever plan they can cook up in 5 seconds. She's loyal and true to who she is, and she's extremely courageous and proud of who she is, but her sharpness is what she stands out for me, which is why I put her in Ravenclaw.
Tumblr media
Annabeth: I know the obvious option is Ravenclaw, but I genuinely think she's also Slytherin. Yes she is booksmart and wise like Ravenclaw, but her personality matches Slytherins' ambitious, cunning and resourceful nature. She's smart as fuck, but she's calculative, she always finds a way to end up winning, and while she does so by outsmarting her opponents, she wouldn't need to outsmart them if she weren't so competitive. I feel like there's this 40/60 odds on Slytherin rather than Ravenclaw, but it's that small difference that counts. Plus her leadership skills are so powerful that people don't ask, they just know she's the boss.
(Also just picture the sweet and loyal Hufflepuff boy with the strong and cunning Slytherin girl, like it should be as opposite as it is with Poseidon and Athena, but they're so cute)
Leo: Idk what you can expect that's not Slytherin. This boy is the embodiment of ambition and determination. Reminder that not all Slytherins are bad btw (I'm slytherin myself), but like he's life smart and cunning, and he can analyze situations faster than anyone else. He's charismatic and talented, and there's no one to stop him from triumphing. I don't have much to say, I just know he'd be in Slytherin.
Rachel: She's kinda a difficult one, and I struggle between Gryffindor and Slytherin, and tbh I'm still not sure. But I think I'd place her in Slytherin, because even if she's brave af (especially since she was a mortal fighting in a war out of her power), her main trait is her determination. When she's set on something, she gets it done. You can't tell her she can't do something, because she will find a way to do it. She's kind, and she's only a mortal, but she still has incredible power unlike any other. I don't think I can really name it, but I think she'd be put on Slytherin with much difficulty from the Sorting Hat.
Luke: Where else could Luke possibly go? On the meaner side Slytherins have created themselves, Luke would be part of those misled by who preceded them, by those who want to take advantage of their mistreatment (bc let's face it, Slytherins are mistreated by both students and Hogwarts staff), and turn them cold and bitter. Luke is ambitious and manipulative, being manipulated himself, and it comes easily because of his natural charisma and talent. He's very freaking determined and cunning too. He'd fit right into Slytherin, but he'd be viewed as one of the rotten lot.
Thalia: I don't have much to say about this, but Thalia is the girl whose fatal flaw is their desire for power (or smth along those lines), just like most Slytherins. She's ambitious, she's smart, she's truly talented, she stands out between the rest, and she knows it, and she actually kinda likes it.
(Also I put Annabeth, Thalia and Luke in the same house because they're all kinda similar, even if their beliefs and postures are different.
Frank: Ngl I'm having more difficulty with Frank than anyone else. I'm kinda torn between Gryffindor, Hufflepuff and Ravenclaw. I literally can't choose. He'd fit perfectly in any of them lmao, I just can't decide where he'd go. You decide this one yourself.
Please keep in mind, this is my personal opinion and my take on the characters, and not all of you will agree, and that's fine! You can let me know what you think (kindly please, don't come at me), and if you want to, send me an ask on a character you want me to do the same as these (as long as it's not TKC, I'M SORRY I haven't read those) go ahead, don't be shy!

percy jackson godly parent swap
(those who aren't mentioned in a different cabin stay the same)
PERCY:
son of aphrodite
sally jackson falling for aphrodite in a male form, skin tan and hair jet black, with eyes everchanging between gold, blue and green. sally confused when aphrodite visited her in her usual female form, but realized she loved her just the same
percy asking his mom about his dad, who his mom calls "the most beautiful person she'd ever met"
percy growing up and using charmspeak without even realizing it; "Nancy, just shut up." and Nancy immediately shutting her mouth close, as if she was a robot of some kind. percy brushing this off as the fact that nancy just didn't want to get in trouble
grover and his mom telling percy that they didn't really know who his dad was, but grover had suspicions based on the aura he radiates
his fight with the minotaur still staying the same, except at one point he had to will himself to get up using charmspeak
aphrodite's symbol popped above his head as soon as he was conscious after his fight with the minotaur and percy was sure it was a mistake; how could the goddess of beauty be his father? it wasn't even the fact that she was a god!dess!, it was the fact that percy didn't really see him good enough to be an aphrodite kid, not handsome or stylish enough
percy's siblings annoyed by how little he cares about his looks at first, then helping him find his right style- which they describe as new york skater junkie
aphrodite constantly sending him gifts; letters with love advice, new clothes, all that. and percy secretly reading the love letters but throwing away everything else. (hey he's a confused teenage boy, can you blame him?)
aphrodite constantly voicing her approval of annabeth, and begging percy to just ask her out
percy being absolutely crushed about silena, whom he was closest with, and him and clarisse shutting down anybody who called her a traitor or the enemy
percy being the cabin counselor due to a note silena left behind, just in case, and him stopping all of drew's dumb ideas (the ugly shoes, which were actually percy's shoes he showed up to camp with)
percy arriving at camp jupiter after training at the wolf house and fighting off the gorgons with hazel and frank, only to have people look down at him for being a son of aphrodite
percy trying to impress everybody so much, always trying to show he's so much more than such a pretty face
percy always trying to show everybody he is strong, smart, and a valid addition to the prophecy
percy and his mom fighting against gaea, and them kicking ass at it too
percy learning that being an aphrodite demigod is about loving yourself and caring for yourself, and how that doesn't make you weak, but rather stronger.
ANNABETH:
daughter of ares
annabeth meeting thalia and luke, being quick in words and with her knife, nearly cutting luke's throat
them traveling to camp and annabeth having the natural battle instinct, dodging and slicing at monsters with uncertainty, yes, but also with a little ease and reflex
annabeth being claimed her first night at the dining pavilion, going to sit down with only about six campers, all glaring daggers at her. annabeth not feeling intimidated, but weirdly at home. more peaceful here than at her dad's, anyway.
annabeth and luke swordfighting, and annbeth slowly yet surely becoming one of the camp's best, though she prefers daggers any day.
annabeth getting named camp counselor despite being eleven, because of her seniority in years of being there
her first act as counselor is to redo the exterior of the cabin, because honestly, it's horrendous. she still keeps the theme of war and everything, just minus the bloody boar, because annabeth gets creeped out by it's following eyes
her second action is stopping the "camp initiation" of dunking kids' heads in toilet bowls
annabeth's battle strategies being the best of camp, and her cabin and the athena one always going head to head in capture the flag.
her being one of her dad's favorites and always trying to please him, always pushing herself to be the best
her fatal flaw still being hubris, and she wants to tear down this world for a new one
her having the strongest Odikinesis at camp. her walking into a room and suddenly people remember that thing their friend did to them months ago, then everybody's fighting
annabeth getting the blessing of ares, and oh my her muscles. she's so fit and muscular and built even before the blessing, but after it's like just. wow. percy gets a lot of shit from it "wow you're girlfriend is more jacked than you" but percy thinks she looks great.
annabeth becoming so lost and distraught after percy goes missing that any time somebody mentions him, her grey eyes go black, and an aura of fear falls over that person. of course, annabeth hates that.
annabeth proving to people that ares demigods aren't just dumb, hot-headed jocks, but also smart, strategic heroes.
JASON:
son of invidia/nemesis
jason arriving at camp jupiter as the first and only invidia demigod, determined to join the fifth cohort and turn it around, to avenge those in the cohort who were mistreated and to bring honor back to their name
reyna choosing him as a leader because 1) his strong sense of justice 2) his refusal to let anyone bully other people of a lower ranking 3) while also giving out fair punishments
reyna, along with having her two dogs in her meetings, but also jason as he can sense when people are lookin for revenge/trouble
him getting his memory wiped, waking up in the bus, feeling a strong sense of missing, something he needed to do
seeing that guy hit on and flirt with piper, and jason hating it. he didn't know much- but he knew that he hated people that thought they were everything, people with big egos
jason and his friends getting picked up by this butch guy and annabeth girl, and jason noticing that annabeth was radiating this very vengeful aura. he was so intimidated he almost didn't get on the pegasus, but he didn't think he'd be better off here
jason arriving at camp and getting claimed almost immediately, a glowing scale hovering over his head.
jason walking into the cabin, on one wall seeing a picture of who must be his sister thalia with annabeth and another dude, and on another seeing a bunkbed pushed against the wall. with somebody on the bottom bunk.
jason meeting damien white, his half-brother, and learning about ethan nakamura. at first, jason was completely appalled by how traitorous his brother had been. then, hearing more about ethan and becoming sad, wishing to have met him.
jason even more sad learning that his brother didn't get a cabin while he was alive, and jason vowing to make it up to him by making sure all the gods' kids got their own cabins
jason and the seven fighting against gaea, and jason almost passing out by all the energy people were putting out. wirh every swipe of somebody's sword, it was as if they were basically yelling, "you! this is what you deserve!" and while jason did not see his mother at the fight, he felt her presence near him, giving him extra power
jason dying, begging piper to fulfill his promise of building the minor cabins, because all jason wanted was to keep his promise.
PIPER:
daughter of hermes
tristan mclean falling for hermes in female form, running into her on the beach. like, actually running. tristan running away from the waves after an early morning surf, and hermes literally going for a run on the beach
hermes and tristan going on dates, spending time with each other 24/7, hermes getting pregnant. then hermes leaving, days after piper had been born, unable to tell tristan the truth about gods.
piper growing up wondering how her mom could flake, and how her dad could still be so in love?? with somebody seemingly so normal?? he was tristan mclean after all.
piper growing up, being able to influence people very easily with her persuasive words alone. and when that didn't work, her talent of stealing and lock-picking came in handy
piper finding out about how all her memories with jason were a trick of the mist and her immediate reaction being to hate the gods, and to hate her mother, whoever she was, because why would she let them do that?
piper arriving at camp, nobody sure where to place her. piper walking into the hermes' cabin, instantly feeling at home. but hermes couldn't be her mother. piper was sure.
piper being claimed in front of the whole camp at the campfire, hermes himself showing up to deliever her a special package equipped with top of the line tennis shoes, a winter jacket, and a demand request for her to be apart of the new quest
piper being insanely annoyed with hermes and how he just waltzed back into her life. and how it seemed like he could read right through her
piper hearing about luke and understanding how he could feel hatred towards their dad (or in piper's case, mother), then immediately feeling horrible for feeling this after meeting the stoll brothers
who by the way, became super protective over piper as soon as they met, and who also told her of their prank rivalry with katie gardner in hopes of her joining them. and she did. of course.
piper growing to sort of like hermes, whoch made her feel horrible about betraying the gods in order to get her dad back. piper telling hermes before her friends, to let him know she wasn't a traitor. piper afraid of hermes grouping her with luke. hermes forgiving her, and recognizing her as the hero she is
hermes and piper fighting side by side against the giants, working together as if it was routine
piper beginning to understand how her dad fell for hermes
LEO:
son of athena
athena falling for all of esperanza: her brains as much as her beauty, her strength as much as her character
leo being born with all of esperanza's exterior; curly hair, dark freckles, long legs, and naturally tan/ethnic skin. this making athena love him one hundred times more, seeing him embody the woman she fell in love with, knowing he was going to be unique. knowing he was going to be that much special when he grew up
leo never forgetting anything, especially not years of torment from tia callida. and especially not his mother's death, how everybody blamed him, the words of gaea, everything. wishing he could forget everything, but having a perfect memory. of everything.
this keeping him up all night through every foster home, forcing him to run from each one, guilt dragging him down every step
leo being top of the class at every school he goes to, without even trying. even with his reading dyslexia. leo carrying these grades to the wilderness school, with all the troubled kids who don't care about their grades, just for everyone to bully ask him to tutor them
leo finding out about his friendship with jason being a trick of the mist, and beating himself up about it. constantly. how could he not see it? how could he, the top of every class, the school's pride and jewel, be that dumb?
leo getting claimed as soon as they landed, and being assigned will to give him a tour. leo arriving at the cabin, immediately feeling out of place in the sea of blonde hair and gray eyes
his half-siblings more or less annoyed with his jokes, but nontheless giving him a chance, and them forgetting how they even got along in life without him
him becoming the backbone of the cabin and, soon enough, getting named camp counselor by malcolm pace, who, quickly became one of leo's bestfriends
leo and malcolm making fun of all the couples, and malcolm spilling about the time he accidentally walked in on percy and annabeth hugging, and it quickly becoming one of leo's favorite stories- which he uses to make fun of both parties
leo arriving on ogyia, calculating ways and distances he'd have to travel to get off the island as soon as he landed. thinking the island was something he could solve, and getting extremely annoyed when calypso pointed out it was just magic
leo flying above his mother during the giant war on his invention, festus, which he built with the help of the hephaestus cabin, throwing off his calculated and mathematically composed weapons.
leo waking up after taking the Physician's Cure, finally able to sort of appreciate magic over logic. sort of.
HAZEL:
daughter of hekate/hecate
marie falling in love with the mystery and magic of hekate, and hekate falling in love with marie for the magic she saw in her
hekate granting marie's wish but warning her of its trouble and refusing to stick around long enough to see her and hazel hurt
marie's wish turning into hazel's curse, hazel touching jewels and treasures and them instantly becoming tainted with unfortunes of marie's selfishness
hazel growing up with things happening to her: her wishing something and it coming true, but marie telling her it was just marie's power of fortune telling and whatnot
hazel's eyes and lips trained to read and speak roman, as most of hekate's enchanments are spoken in roman
hazel's little white lies turning into a mist trick, if she lied and said she had an apple, right after marie saw that apple. it was little things, but not too little to go unnoticeable by marie
marie moving hazel to alaska despite hekate's pleads, and hazel feeling as if some part of her was dialed down, as if moving to alaska had diminished this "light" of hers that her mother loved
gaea choosing hazel to manipulate because of her powerful aura
hazel using her Umbrakinesis to shroud gaea in darkness, then caving the world in around her, taking hazel down with her
hazel and marie getting to the underworld and hazel trying to hold on to her life as much as possible, who knows how much time passing, then being tapped on the shoulder by this scrawny boy
this boy, nico, claiming to be hazel's half-sibling, here to bring her back from the open doors of death, with a tip from their mother
hazel arriving at camp jupiter, the first daughter of hekate, hazel being able to manipulate mist and the shadows, even learning how to shadow travel through nico
basically hazel being a badass all throughout the war alongside nico and their mom
hazel's friends helping her realize that her powers are not a curse, but a blessing that she can use to help others.
FRANK:
son of apollo
apollo meeting emily zhang during war, where lots of his kids were
emily thinking he was an egotistical airhead, yet falling for him all the same. emily falling for his never wavering bravery and risk-taking, and apollo falling for emily's safeness yet strength.
frank growing up wondering how anybody could leave his mom, his great mom. frank growing up not missing his dad. frank growing up hoping his dad was at least a good person, and if he wasn't that he didn't pass that on to frank.
frank being a horrible singer, stumbling over his words, yet still being able to heal with his voice, strength pouring from his words to people's ears, telling them to keep going, you got this. like this warm ball of light and comfort was radiating off of him
apollo visiting frank after his mother's death, in the form of a demigod, giving frank his second bow and arrow
frank getting claimed two days after arriving at camp. frank at first sort of hating his dad, this self-absorbed, annoying dude.
people giving him one glance, unable to believe he was a son of apollo. despite his archery skills, he was shy, in the worst cohort, and had none of that "pizzazz." people usually laughed in his face.
frank being ashamed to be in the fifth cobort, when his father was so used to being in the spotlight, so used to being loved and adored, frank being so scared that his father might think he was less
frank getting a blessing from apollo, making him tall with movie star good looks and seemingly glowing skin. frank begging him to dial it down a bit. apollo demanding his son go on the quest, or else
frank's dad constantly popping in during the quest in forms of some homeless man or another, which frank strangely appreciated
frank growing to like him, as he went through the quest, seeing why his mother liked him. seeing a little of himself in apollo, even
frank having the perfect shot, with anything. frank being able to sense the perfect places to put arrows into monsters' chests, being able to sense which place would kill them the fastest
frank meeting will and the apollo cabin, who, unlike camp jupiter, immediately accepted frank and made him feel at home. who never doubted for a second frank's worth, shy, chubby kid or not
apollo constantly voicing how special frank is, how proud he is that frank can be such a geniune hero without all the bravado that apollo himself used.
REYNA:
daughter of pluto
reyna's dad, Julian Ramírez-Arellano, falling for pluto as a pale woman, jet black hair with purple-ish eyes. reyna's dad coming back from war, scarred, becoming more scarred by learning who pluto really was after reyna had been born, and being disgusted by himself and pluto.
julian shoving this disgust on his daughters, screaming, yelling. julian never being the same afterwards. julian always thinking people are out to get him, ideas of war and pluto always haunting him.
julian reduced to a ghost, but appearing to reyna and hylla as a still alive, solid person. reyna driving an imperial good dagger through him, evaporating him forever.
reyna and hylla meeting Circe, and her telling them who their mother was. her promising them a grand future, one where they could get away and above abusive, crazy men, like their father.
then percy jackson and annabeth chase coming, turning reyna's world upside down. reyna going to camp jupiter, hylla to the amazons
reyna's first time shadow travelling being an accident. reyna and hylla being cornered by the pirates at night, reyna just wanting to hide in the shadows of the forest. and then they did. reyna and hylla appearing just five minutes away from circe's spa, both drained from their joint effort but most of all reyna
reyna arriving at camp and almost instantly earning her title of praetor
reyna being able to cast this feeling of fear over people with a single gaze, leaving people frightened days later still
reyna leading her legions into battle practice, hearing the voices of the dead who once held the same weapons in their hand
nico bringing hazel to reyna, asking for her to let the other girl into camp. reyna sensing almost at once that hazel had just came back to life.
percy coming to camp, reminding reyna of the life she could have had. reyna reading his feelings, reyna knowing his past too inckuded death of close ones, maybe even recently. reyna deciding to give him a chance
reyna meeting annabeth and seeing what she saw in percy in her eyes alone, times ten
reyna touching statues of war gods, and being overwhelmed by waves of dead soldiers pleading, begging for help. reyna being able to communicate with some of them, but most of them just mumbled incoherently
reyna going to find the Argo II only for scipio to later get injured, reyna having to put him out of his misery, but reyna still being able to feel his presence as a ghost
reyna shadow traveling the Athena Parthenos alongside nico and coach hedge all the way to camp, nico helping with his powers as a son of hecate
them stopping for breaks at all these historic places, the dead screaming at reyna, begging to be raised
reyna finally raising them at the battle at camp half blood, hundreds of dead demigods rising, tightly gripping their weapons, ready to win back their honor

the di Angelo kids getting out, going to Westover Hall, and hecate paying all the fees
nico falling in love with this game all about magic, studying the plays and spells, learning them. realizing that if he worded them right, he could do some of the minor stuff; levitating, starting little fires, even being able to hide in the shadows sometimes. bianca convincing him that it was all his imagination
percy, annabeth, and thalia showing up and helping the di angelos escape, bianca becoming so scarce and quiet that she turned invisible. everybody thinking it to be a trick of the light
nico being the opposite, drawing attention to himself, all his questions loud, the sound of the forest and nature suddenly shushed, cut off
nico getting to camp and feeling out of place, as no hecate cabin was built, not being claimed. bianca leaving, percy promising, then bianca dying. percy bringing back a hecate figurine, but it being too late; nico slipping into the shadows

Let’s Got Basted || Jason and Percy
Percy and Jason spend the holidays together, enjoying the well earned time off. Relaxing has never been so enjoyable.
Jason and Percy had been friends for almost ten years now. In that time they’d developed a certain comfort in one another’s presence. Aside from Annabeth and Grover, there were few people that Percy would want to spend his time with as Jason. So the invitation to spend the holidays with Jason, at least in the runup to Thanksgiving, was if nothing else something to look forward to. Now that it had finally begun, Percy had to admit that his excitement almost got the best of him. Standing outside of Jason’s front door, he struggled to stand still as he prepared for the first break that he had had all year. He’d packed all of the essentials of course, beer, food and everything else that they might need. It promised to be a good week. Knocking on his front door, he knocked and stepped through knowing that Jason wouldn’t want him to wait. “I’m here, sorry I’m early,” it was 12:00PM and Jason had told him to come at 1:00PM, “I got bored and the excitement over took me.”
Hearing the sound of a knock at the door Jason rushed out of his bedroom, still toweling shower-wet hair off, to see who it could be. But when a key scraped in the door and it opened of its own volition, he knew exactly who’d shown up. “Percy!” he waved from the hallway, in all his sweatpant clad glory, before wandering back into his bedroom, “I set up the guest bedroom for you, cleared all my papers out of it and everything. Set yourself up and I’ll be right out. And it’s never too early for you to show up at my door.” He finished drying his hair and changed into jeans and a tanktop, flying out of his bedroom once again to tackle his best friend in a giant hug, “It’s Thanksgiving! And my best friend is here to stay for awhile. I literally could not be any happier right now. This is fucking perfect.”
Setting his rucksack down on the sofa, Percy moved over to the fridge and started emptying the contents of the carrier bag into the fridge. He’d brought a few steaks that he was sure they’d eat one evening, some beer, regular soda and a few tubs of ice cream. “I’ve brought all of the essentials,” he said reassuringly, “everything that we could possibly need for our week being shut in together.” He smiled as he adjusted his bag and set it down on the floor before sinking into one of Jason’s comfortable sofas. “Believe me!” he practically screeched, “I am just as over joyed to be a part of this little event as you are, this is going to be a holiday to truly remember.” After everything that they had been forced to put up with this year he thought that they deserved to be able to enjoy a week off. He refused to feel guilty about this.
Jason hopped up on his kitchen island and watched Percy put things away in the fridge like he belonged there, which, they both knew, he did. “All of the essentials,” he said with a laugh, snaking past Percy to grab a bottle of water from the fridge, “beer steak and ice cream. The most American of shopping lists.” As Percy collapsed into a sofa, Jason did the same into an arm chair, “gods a week being shut in together sounds amazing. No work to call me away, school is already on thanksgiving break, it’s going to be amazing. Just you and me and food and games and booze and chilling.” They had earned this. Having been commanders in three wars now, they’d learned too well that relaxing weeks were hard to come by, but Jason was determined to make this a good one. “What do you wanna do first?”
Carefully slotting the final three beers into the fridge, Percy closed the door carefully behind him with a gentle clink. “I know you would’ve probably had all of these things covered, but I wanted to contribute at least something.” He knew that they wouldn’t get to do everything on their own, inevitably something would breach their solitude. “The best thing is that I won’t have people asking me what to do constantly,” Percy replied with a contented smile, “I didn’t mind leading, but it’s gotten to the point where people aren’t using their initiative. I get that we are experienced but some stuff you’ve got to do yourself.” Frowning, he rubbed his forehead and smiled. “I shouldn’t just bitch, things have gotten so much better but still not quite there yet.” He pulled a pillow underneath his back and shrugged. “Do we need to get anything ready yet?” he asked somewhat hopefully, “or am I too early for that one?”
Beaming beatifically at his friend Jason chuckled, “your presence is contribution enough. But thank you. I’m sure some late night beers will be fantastic at some point this week.” He watched Percy make himself comfortable, marveling at how perfectly at home Percy looked. He just fit in the tableau of Jason’s apartment. He belonged. “Well I promise not to ask you what to do. You know me and thanksgiving. I’ve got a whole schedule written out of what to cook and when.” As Percy looked at him with hope glittering in his vibrant eyes jason laughed again, “well… I do need to make some cookies. I told some people I would and so you can steal chocolate while I make those if you want.”
“You know that I have always thought that was a bullshit answer and you’re doing absolutely nothing to convince me otherwise.” Percy beamed despite this all. It was hard not to feel good when there were so many good things that would follow on from this. Raising an eyebrow at the suggestion of stealing chocolate from Jason’s cookie mix, he had to admit that he thought it sounded rather accurate. He would never admit that to his best friend of course. The prospect of admitting that Jason was right was something that he was unwilling to relish. “I will pretend that I have somewhat of a semblance of self control and attempt to restrain myself, at least while you’re looking.” A blatant lie, Percy’s race horsesque metabolism meant that he’d never had to worry about putting weight on, the holidays were the perfect time to flex those muscles.
A broad shrug flexed tan muscles underneath Jason’s tank top, “I don’t have to convince you. I just have to know it’s true… and I do. So… it’s true.” Rolling his eyes he launched himself out of his chair and across his apartment, starting to move through his ingredient list with the speed of a dervish. “First I think will be the ginger molasses ones, then while they’re in the fridge resting we can make the peanut butter ones, then at the end we can start baking pieces for gingerbread cookies and if you’re super extra good I’ll let you play with the icing.” He gave Percy his brightest most honest smile, “Frankly this is way more than needs to be done, but, I’ve got you here to motivate me so I might as well take advantage of it. Feel free to put whatever you want on netflix while we’re working.”
Percy flicked through Netflix before putting something mundane on in the background. If he was totally honest he hadn’t even really considered what it was that he was picking. Turning to Jason, he leaned forwards before slumping into a chair next to the breakfast island. “That all went right over my head,” he admitted as he pulled a bowl of chocolate chips towards him and began nibbling on the small chocolate chunks, “but I am glad that I can be your muse. If you must model your biscuits after my fair child, then I shall pose for you.” He laughed heartily before cramming more chocolate chips into his mouth happily. “How’s school?” he asked sincerely, as swiveled on the chair.
Digging a recipe box out of a cupboard, Jason set to laying out ingredients for the first set of cookies; grabbing them both beers while he did it, “That’s fine. It was more for my benefit than yours anyway. You’re just here to look handsome and keep me company and not have to be in charge of something for once.” Laughing, Jason shook his head and leaned across the counter to pat Percy on the cheek, “I don’t think I could do your handsome face justice in gingerbread, Jackson. But we can certainly try when we get there.” As he set to weighing out individual ingredients and setting them aside, building the foundation of his mise en place, he shrugged, “It’s hard. It sounds strange but it’s hard to focus on just that. I’ve always juggled things, but now I only have school to worry about and it’s a difficult adjustment. Might get a short story published in the school’s journal though. My professor really liked it.” He licked an errant drop of vanilla off his finger and intoned solemnly from memory, “In the beginning there was naught but the Eternal Void and the Boundless Melody, stretching to both the past and the present and the future and the dark places beyond all three…” He huffed a laugh, “You know… the usual fiction nonsense.”
Though Percy knew that his best friend was joking to some degree, it was certainly a refreshing change to not have someone hanging on his every word. He didn’t want to have to constantly be in charge and with Jason he wasn’t. Jason was one of the few people able to take charge of almost any situation. It was certainly a nice change. “Well, I am sure that is something I can manage.” He smirked with a mouthful of chocolate and shrugged. “If you can’t do it justice then why bother, frankly mediocrity bores me.” He laughed at his dramatic outburst. “Change isn’t always a bad thing,” Percy pointed out as he popped the cap off of a beer and slugged several mouthfuls down, “you’ll take a little bit of time to get adjusted sure, but you’ll get to live a more normal life than before. That’s surely got to be a good thing.” He smiled at Jason, “How can something be both when there’s three things in it?” he asked with a bright smirk.
“I’m sure you can as well. I have infinite faith in you. More so than anyone else around.” Jason started to carefully mix dry ingredients, swirling flour with fragrant ground ginger, cinnamon, and cloves, watching as the pale mixture turned ever darker by degrees. “Change isn’t a bad thing. This just takes more adjustment than I thought it would. Mundanity is… different. I understand why so few of us try to live normal mortal lives. Once you’ve gotten used to the frenetic pace of Legion life it can be…. Boring.” He cracked a couple of eggs and started scrambling them together, pausing only to level an accusatory finger in Percy’s direction, “Creative fucking liberties that’s how. Consider it a treatise on the duality of time or some shit. Don’t give me fuckin’ sass about it your mom approved it all.” He resumed mixing the eggs together, adding heavy cream before carefully mixing them in with the flour mixture, “What about you? Outside the Reconstruction… how are you?”
“I’m not sure that you’re placing your faith in the right person my friend, I know that it doesn’t seem like it considering how close to perfection I am, but I am actually fallible, believe it or not.” Percy had to admit that he loved being around cooking, the smell of the various ingredients. Whether they were spices, starches, sugars or something else entirely different always enchanted him and threw him back into a happier and simpler time with him and his mother. Before she’d met Gabe. Before he’d been kicked out of a hundred or so schools and fought Titans and Gods. “Mundanity sounds, perfect.” He couldn’t help but be honest. “I’m sure that me of all people couldn’t do it for very long, but I feel like I’m yearning to be bored. It has been such a long time since I was and now I wish for it. Though I’m sure that I’d hate it all the same.” He raised an eyebrow and laughed along with Jason, wondering how he actually was. “The war really took it’s toll on me,” he replied eventually, “when we hammered out the cease fire, I slept for almost 24 hours straight. But that was the last good night of sleep that I got and it was months ago. Since then I’ve been kept up by reoccuring nightmares, either old ones or new ways of examining the horrors we went through…” he fell silent, staring at the perspiration on the side of his drink.
“Faith has absolutely nothing to do with fallibility, old friend.” Jason replied airily, snagging the bowl of chocolate chips from Percy’s fingers and sprinkling them liberally into the dough mixture in front of him, “And everything to do with purity of character. In that regard, you are beyond reproach.” He listened with an ever sinking heart to Percy’s story, worry gathering in the furrows of his brow with each syllable, until Percy trailed off into silence, looking at the bottle in front of him. “Let me tell you a story,” Jason murmured, wiping his hands on the towel flung over his shoulder and leaning forward to wrap his hands around Percy’s; the uncharacteristic intimacy sheltered by the walls of his apartment, “Once upon a time there were two princes, born of war, with the gods in their bones and the wither of mortality in their blood.” The tv talked aimlessly in the background, weaving between the susurrations of Jason’s story, “In the way of all heroes they had been given much, but had much taken from them, as the scars on their bodies told a story so too did the deep-etched scars on their souls.” He looked down at their hands, hair falling in front of his face, “The Prince of the Sky grew weak and wounded, and wondered in his darkest hours if the burden of the royal blood would be too much for him to bear, and in his weakness sought out his brother-beloved, the Prince of the Sea, for counsel. But what came to light was that neither Sky nor Sea could fathom a way to escape the horrors of the war eternal they’d been born into.” He paused for a long moment, trying to decide how best to phrase what he was trying to comunicate, “But in the end perhaps it was not an exit that the Princes required, but simple assurances that the war would never overshadow them entirely. That dawn would come again, if only for a brief moment, and they could breathe unfettered by cares and commands.” An uncharacteristic blush skated across his cheeks as he withdrew his hands and resumed mixing, “Long story short…. Sleep will come again, and sleep free from nightmares. I know it, because you’re strong, and because I’ll be there every step of the way to make sure of it. Whatever happens you’ve always got me for whatever you need.”
“Hey I was eating those,” Percy complained as the chocolate chips were tugged from his grip and used for their intended purpose. Pouting gently, Percy fell silent as Jason took his hands in his own. Percy was not opposed to physical platonic intimacy. Yet there was an intensity to Jason that he had never previously experienced. Whether this was due to neglect on his part was somewhat unclear. However he could see that Jason truly and deeply cared for how Percy was struggling. “Thanks, that was a great improvised story by the way,” he smiled slightly before sighing, “I know that things will eventually get better and my therapist has always told me that recovery was a long and lonely road. Things get better everyday but I am sure I don’t need to tell you how frustrating it is that my problems can’t all be fixed with the blade of my sword.”
“You were eating them and I needed them.” Jason kept his tone breezy to alleviate the somber attitude from his story, “You can have them back when I’m done with them.” He wrapped the dough in cling film and tucked it into his fridge, returning to the counter to start weighing out ingredients for the next project, “In all honesty… it’s not improvised. The Princes of Sea and Sky are in a project I started that your mom won’t let me give up. She says it’s cathartic.” He started to knead bread dough, arms working the lump on the counter as he kept listening to Percy talk, “Yeah… it is. But it’s not one you have to travel alone. I’m here for whatever you need.” His laugh broke through the room as he paused his kneading and took a swig of his beer, “Believe me I know that feeling. If I could just lightning bolt everything to smithereens I’d be way happier.”
“Yes well it seems obvious that you need a bowl for yourself that isn’t my bowl of chocolate chips,” Percy replied with a chuckle, “I can’t help it if you have to attempt to use all my food.” As Jason kept working, Percy busied himself with observing. Jason was so at ease and so careful with his cooking that Percy found it almost relaxing to watch. It was certainly cathartic to say the least. “Of course my own mother was involved. This had the whiff of her all over it, she appears to be one of the few people left on earth that believes in the power of fables.” He nodded and looked at Jason. “I know, you’re here for me and so is Piper and Annabeth and Connor and everyone else. The thing is, what can you really do? We know this isn’t something that can be beaten back with a sword or even a lightning bolt. Unfortunately I don’t think there’s a quick fix for this.”
“My chocolate chips, sir. Mine. You’re the pilfering party here.” As Jason felt the dough start to come together under his hands he weighed it out carefully into eight equal balls, starting the complicated process of braiding them all together. “You can just assume if it involves my writing it’s got your mother involved. She’s second only to you in terms of people who are super vocal in their support of me.” He bit his lip in concentration as he continued to braid the well spiced dough, listening to Percy talk, “I know I know I know. We can’t really do anything, which is the hard part. Because I want to. But you’re right. There’s nothing I can do. So I’ll just keep letting you drink beer and steal my chocolate chips and hope we come out alright on the other side of this all.”
“What’s yours is mine,” Percy joked, reaching into the bowl of chocolate chips and using his long fingers to scoop up another handful, “and I intend to share the bounty amongst us like equals. I tell you this, we shall share. I shall only tax you a requisite sixty percent, for I am a kind and benevolent lord.” He smirked gently and raised an eyebrow gently. “You two spend far too much time together for me to be comfortable about it,” he said with a complete lie. He loved how close they were. It was refreshing to see the antithesis of what the usual friend-friend’s parent dynamic was. “Let’s just pretend that we live in a world that we’re all happy, that there are no monsters what so ever and we even have semi-normal lives which is a joke compared to the previous world we actually live in.”
Jason stopped braiding his loaf of bread long enough to slap at Percy’s hand “and you wonder why I buy so much extra… my lord.” He kept the mockery thick in his voice but it was interwoven with affection. “You should be worried. Sally showed me where all your baby albums are kept. Ive seen allllllllll the embarrassing pictures of you.” He finished the braid as Percy talked, setting it carefully on a tray to rise a second time, the smell of it already permeating his apartment. “I don’t think we can pretend anymore, P.” He smiled hollowly and tapped at the gnarled flesh where his eye had once been, “too many permanent reminders. And not just the physical ones.” Propping his chin in his hand he smiled, “but the reconstruction continues and life marches on. What more can we do but march with it.”
“I can’t help but eat food when you put it in front of me,” Percy rarely felt this at ease. But there was something about being in the presence of Jason that set him in a more comfortable mood. They’d been through so many things together and seperately. Their upbringing was so similar, yet so different. The heritage they shared, the responsibility of their birth. “Puh-lease,” Percy said emphasizing the p, “there is not a single photo that has ever been taken of me where I haven’t looked hot shit, therefore there cannot be an embarrassing photo of me out there. Even my baby photos.” Percy watched fascinated at Jason’s skill. “We can make things better, that is the whole point of this, we didn’t fight for nothing. We fought for a change. Now we’ve got the chance to. I don’t doubt for a second that the two senators who weren’t mentioned in the document, Arcadi and Karavadra, they were definitely involved in some way. I don’t trust the amount of power that the Karavadras still have in the Legion too. They led the war against us and they’re sitting relatively pretty, they’ve not suffered a single loss yet.”
“Having a dish of supplies on the counter does not count as leaving it in front of you, Perseus.” Jason turned his oven on to preheat and took the chilled cookie dough out of the fridge. “Oh yeah? You think? Cuz I’ve seen some of your baby outfits. It’s good to know Sally loved neon in the 90s as much as everyone else did.” He started to roll the cookie dough into small balls, dusting them with sugar before placing them on a baking sheet. “Senator Karavadra has always wielded too much power.” Jason’s voice turned bitter as he kept working, “of course he would have redundancies in place to ensure nothing was ever traced back to him if he indeed was involved.” He looked up at Percy as he slid the sheet into the oven, “we joked about it before. But a full dissolution of the Senate isn’t a terrible idea. Start completely anew. No former Senator may have a family member on the new Senate. And we have to split it equally between Greeks and Romans.” He moved onto the next baking task, never content to be still for too long. “Rome could use Senator Jackson. Rome could use Emperor Percy to be honest but that won’t ever happen.”
“I’m basically a dog, you cannot leave food unattended in front of me. Isn’t this something that my mother covered with you?” Percy asked teasingly with a bright smirk dancing across his face before flickering away as he sipped at his bottle of beer. “Please, I look hot as shit in neon. I don’t care for non-neon baby grows.” Nodding gently, Percy sighed. “I believe that we need to change the complete senatorial system and the entire political system in New Rome.” He paused and scratched at his beard. “Maybe we get rid of the senate entirely. It didn’t work the first time, why would it work the second time? We could come up with a brand new system where everyone’s voices are heard, where all the needs are addressed.” He considered what Jason was saying and sighed. “I don’t know if I am the right person to lead this city, and even if I were, is that what I want? I know that was never part of the plan.” SIghing he sipped at his beer and watched the bubbles trickle to the surface of his larger. “I don’t think the Romans would ever accept me. I’ve not exactly been their best friend.”
“Honestly? It absolutely is.” In fact, during one of his frequent visits to see the Jackson family, Sally had indeed gone over a list of concerns and such, which is how Jason had known some things Percy liked to eat without being told. “The problem is we’re all stuck in the past. Our blood is old and so we all feel like we have to stick to the old ways.” The cookies started to fill the apartment with another layer of holiday scent. “The Senate worked for the Old Rome and so it must work for the new one. But that’s not necessarily true, is it.” Jason barked out a laugh as he dragged a mixer out from under the counter “I think a lot of the old romans are well and truly done with both of us. When I left with the Exodus a lot of them saw that as a massive betrayal but honestly. I don’t care.” He polished off his beer and reached for a bottle of whisky sitting on the side table, pouring himself a modest amount before adding soda water. “No clear way forward and traps everywhere. It’s just like the good old days.”
“I’m glad that she ensured that you are properly prepared for eventually becoming my primary care giver.” Percy hadn’t dated anyone in several months, hell it was probably close to a year now. “I don’t know how much longer we can blame our genetic make up for the situations that we find ourselves in. At what point do we say that enough is enough? When do we take a stand and say no more?” He sighed sadly and ran a hand over his jawline, scratching gently at the hairs of his beard, tracing the outline of the bone. “Well it obviously is not true,” Percy agreed, “otherwise we wouldn’t have found ourselves in the situation that we are in. The fact that a handful of families have the majority of the wealth and power within New Rome is pretty terrifying.” Raising an eyebrow, Percy smiled warmly at his friend. He would always be grateful for everything that Jason, a son of Jupiter and a Roman, had decided to sacrifice for his friends, over his people. “You know I can never truly thank you for everything that you did for us.” Percy followed Jason’s example, copying his drink choice and drinking a chunk of it straight away. “Well, all we need is for Leo and Grover and your sister to come back and we’d have most of the old crew.”
“Somebody has to take care of you and Gods know it isn’t going to be you. So I guess I’ll keep feeding you chocolate chips and making sure you wear your coat in the winter.” Jason shook his head and left off his baking, walking over to lean next to Percy against the island. “My worry is we have been taking stands. Over and over and over and how long before people just start tuning us out. Oh it’s just Jason and Percy raising a fuss again just ignore them.” He waved Percy’s thanks away, “the deep and abiding love I have for you and my Greek friends left me little choice. It was the right thing to do and even with all it cost I would do it again and again and again. I could never abandon you, Percy. Not then, not now, not ever.” He raised his brow at Percy’s quick chug of his drink, “Oh is it going to be that kind of night? I can get behind that.” He thought of his sister, off doing whatever immortal Huntresses do, “it would be nice to see them all again.”
“I do a pretty good job of looking out for myself,” Percy replied with a chuckle, “I just don’t live up to your high standards of health and care. Sorry.” Percy frowned gently and considered Jason’s point. “I don’t think that means that we have to stop making a stand, I think that all that it means is that we have to make an even bigger fuss about things otherwise no one is ever going to listen to us. I know that you don’t intend to stop fighting for what is right and neither do I.” He shrugged gently and smiled at Jason. “All the same, what you did for us and what you gave up for us was more than we could’ve asked for and I am so thankful that we have you about to help us.” He smiled gently and shrugged. “It would be really nice to see them all again, especially Grover.”
“You do a moderate at best job of looking out for yourself.” Jason stuck his tongue out at his best friend and shook his head, “We need to get you a girlfriend just so I can split the duties of caring for you with someone else.” His smile faltered for a moment, “No. It doesn’t. It just means it’s more of an uphill battle every time we do it. Which is exhausting.” An eye roll preceded a hand flapping and a sigh, “Hush. What I did for you and gave up for you I would do a hundred times over if it meant I could keep you all safe. And that’s the end of that discussion.” Jason topped off their glasses, “Yeah. It would. It’s always nice to have the whole family together. Wish they could spend thanksgiving with us, but, I guess we’ll just have to make it perfect just us.”
“Moderate my ass, exemplary. Look at me. I’m in perfect shape, my hair is healthy and clean, I have a full face of hair.” Percy smiled happily, genuinely enjoying himself more than he had in a good long while. “Believe me Jace, if there was anyone out there that I was interested in, I’d much rather be with them than stuck here with you.” He joked of course. They both knew that there was nowhere in the world that Percy would rather be at this exact moment. “Either way, I’m sure when they realised that it was a full time job, they would quickly give up on it.” He considered continuing their conversation about his gratitude to Jason, but decided to respect his friends wishes. At least for now. “Speaking of, who are you planning on inviting over?”
Jason cast an appraising eye over Percy, “Well… you do have the body of a god… well demigod at least, and that beard is a solid 8.5.” He reached out and scratched Percy’s beard before walking back to his kitchen, “Oh I know… but that sounds like the kind of talk that means you don’t want one of my famous molasses chocolate ginger cookies fresh out of the oven.” He pulled the tray out and set it on a rack on the other side of the kitchen, flipping Percy off after he pulled his oven mitts off, “Their loss, then. They’d be missing out on one of the best dudes in the world. If they couldn’t see that then they don’t deserve you. Any girl would be lucky to have you.” Jason shrugged, putting the bread he’d neatly braided into the oven after washing it with egg and milk, “Nico, though he won’t come. Frank, Reyna, Hazel, probably Piper if she isn’t going to go see her dad, Annabeth if it won’t be weird for you. I dunno. Part of me wants to invite everyone. Part of me just wants it to be you and me getting drunk and fat on thanksgiving food.”
“8.5?” Percy almost spat out his whiskey and soda in shock. Surprised by what he was hearing. “What would constitute getting a ten then?” he asked teasingly. “Would Gandalf or Dumbledore be worthy of getting a ten? What about Chiron? Where does he come on the Grace scale, which is how we shall measure all beards from now on.” Percy laughed gently. “You and my mom definitely have been spending far too much time together, you’re beginning to say almost the exact same thing at the exact same moment that the other would say it.” Percy was glad that he had his friend for the holidays. It was easy to feel sorry for yourself and to miss home, but he knew that even though he wasn’t with his family, he soon would be. Or at least that was what he hoped. “Invite Annabeth,” Percy said with a nod and a shrug, “the more the merrier.” He nodded and shrugged. “I can’t decide for you, all I know is that whatever we decide will be great.”
“Mark the day! Percy Jackson, offended that his war beard didn’t score a perfect ten on the Grace Scale!” Jason shook his head mockingly at his friend, laughing all the while, “Perfect ten beard? John Krasinski in A Quiet Place… totally a perfect ten beard there.” Chuckling he kept working in the kitchen, always moving, never stopping entirely, while he talked with Percy, “You know that’s a gigantic compliment right there. I’ll always take being compared to your mom. She’s one of the dopest ladies around.” Nodding he started to assemble the ingredients for his gingerbread, “I will then. I’ll invite them all, though while you can’t decide for me you definitely get some input. This is your Thanksgiving just as much as it is mine.”
“It’s now actually known as the “War and Peace Beard” thank you very much,” Percy couldn’t help the pout that crept upon his face. “Bullshit, John Krasinski doesn’t have anything on me. My beard is fuller, shinier, has better volume, shape and definition than Krasinski does.” He wasn’t going to be defeated by some actor who couldn’t grow a beard in the Office. “Why do you think I said it?” he asked with a smirk. “I think that if we can all get together like we used to, if we can all settle down and really enjoy an evening together. Despite everything that has happened, despite everything that we’ve had to do. Then you know what, that is probably the best victory we can ever get.” He swallowed a mouthful of whiskey and soda, shifting on the stool he sat at as he continued to watch Jason work. “You know we’re really lucky?” he said with a laugh, “I just realised that there is pretty much no chance that our parents are going to show up uninvited.”
Jason shook his head dolefully and sighed, “Percy. I love you more than life itself and would literally throw myself into a burning building to save you… but…. I have to say… his beard is better than yours.” Jason chuckled and nodded, pulling one of the many pads of paper that littered his apartment towards him and started writing names down on it. “I love that reasoning there. Our family and and us celebrating the good things is a good victory indeed.” Jason’s chuckle turned into a deep booming laugh as he nodded to Percy’s realization, “I can’t really imagine my father descending from the heavens to sit at my kitchen table and bitch about my baking skills. He seems like he’d be really judgey.” Leaving his kitchen he brought Percy a warm cookie fresh from the oven, leaning against the counter as he waited for his verdict. “Well?”
“Lies and slander can often be responded to with an example of litigation of some variety.” Pausing for a second, Percy raised an eyebrow gently and smiled. He was rather proud of his beard, it was not difficult to argue that it was the best thing to come out of this war, though he wasn’t sure that was entirely true. “I don’t know, I don’t think that my concern would be Jupiter but rather Mrs Olympus AKA Juno, or Hera. I don’t care what we call her, but she’s the patron Goddess of cows for a reason.” Pausing for a second, he sipped his drink and did his best not to be the most judgemental of bitches. “Ah, excellent, allow the sampling to begin.” Percy grabbed a paper napkin and made a huge show of tucking it into the collar of his t-shirt before grabbing a plate and a knife and fork to complete his display. Using his cutlery to cut into the cookie, he delicately stabbed it with his fork and chewed on it. “9/10, it’s not as good as those chocolate rainbow cookies you made for pride.”
“You think it’s awkward for you. She’s my stepmother. It’s so awkward. She’s one of the worst creatures in existence.” Jason paused and canted his head toward the ceiling “and yes I know you can hear me and no I don’t care.” Returning his attention to Percy’s ridiculous and grandiose display of cookie eating he shook his head in utter disbelief. “A 9 out of ten?! Those cookies have won baking contests, Jackson! You just liked the pride cookies because they were rainbow and that handsome dude from the parade ate one off your abs.” It seemed a long distant past when Percy and Jason had been in the closet to each other, but now they were both out and supremely comfortable with each other. “speaking of… a guy in my writing seminar asked me out for beers the other day. First date I’ve been asked on since the injury.”
“Well, having had the worst and best stepfather in the entire world, I can sympathise with you, to some extent at least. Though neither Paul nor Gabe ever tried to mind wipe me and send me to the wrong Camp.” Percy shrugged gently as he nursed the last of his drink, swilling the whiskey and soda around and around his glass. At the mention of eating cookies off of his abs, Percy found himself smirking gently in remembrance. “Yes, well that might’ve been one of the highlights, but there was something about those blue chocolate chips that you used or made or whatever,” raising an eyebrow gently, “I don’t know what to say, this is not the first time you’ve not been able to best a previous accomplishment.”
“Though. I do have to give mommy dearest a tiny sliver of credit. Without her I never would have met you, and I can’t imagine not having you in my life.” Jason started to eat one of his cookies before a timer went off and he moved back to the kitchen, pulling the bread from the oven and smiling to himself at how it looked. “Nice to know I haven’t lost any of my skills.” Pride with Percy had become a yearly tradition after Jason had come out of the closet as bisexual, and it was something he enjoyed. It was nice to be free and unconcerned for an afternoon, and if he was incredibly honest; he liked the attention. “I turned him down. But. It’s nice to be asked. I just don’t think I’m at a point in my life where dating mortals is a good idea. Too many things I can’t explain to them.”
Though Percy remained silent, he couldn’t help but think that Juno’s original intention had not been to provide her two favourite demigods with a lifelong friendship. He was certain that she would claim credit for that too. “I guess we occasionally get lucky don’t we?” Pausing he chewed on the last of the cookie in front of him and smiled brightly. “These are really good J,” Percy said quietly, “one day you and my mother will have to teach me how to bake. Maybe I can be someone’s house husband. That would be the dream.” He smiled brightly and shrugged. “Poor kid, I bet he was devastated ….” he still saw Jason the way he saw him when they’d first met. Jason was tall, tanned, muscular and well groomed. He looked like the stereotypical popular kid in all the movies. “You might enjoy the distraction, it could be a nice outlet to get away from all of this.” Percy couldn’t help but wonder what it would be like to really date a mortal, everyone he’d dated had been demigods. Maybe it would be the bridge into the mortal world. A first step into normalcy? But he knew that was something they’d never achieve.
“As much as it seems like the Fates shit on us constantly I guess we do get lucky some of the time.” Jason gave Percy his most dazzling smile and threw on his Hollywood voice, “You’re the best piece of good luck that’s ever happened to me, Jackson.” He heaved a longing sigh, “Oh gods right?! Being a house husband is the fucking dream. Just cook and write and game. That sounds amazing. Need me a man or woman who’s on board with that.” He shut off the oven and moved to flop onto his couch, deciding it was time for a break. “I’m sure he wasn’t devastated. But he was disappointed. But I’m retired now. There’s not much I need a distraction from. I mean… I do homework and cook. I help out a little bit but not as much as you or Annabeth.” He shrugged, swirling the liquid in his glass and watching it, “I dunno. I just don’t feel like having to hide parts of myself. You know? I could never invite him back to my place. It’d be very one sided and that’s not good for a relationship.”
“You could maybe try actually getting to know the guy, discover if he is trustworthy and be honest that there are somethings that you simply can’t tell him.” Percy wasn’t really sure why he was suggesting this, he preferred Jason single so that he could always be about when Percy needed him. “I know it’d be difficult to make work, but you never know, what if he is the one and you’re missing it completely because you’re too focussed on what might go wrong?” he paused and picked at a crumb on the marble kitchen island in front of him. Absentmindedly crushing and rolling it between his fingers. “I don’t know, you know what’s best for you, but you’re not leading anymore, you’re basically retired. I’d think that if there was ever a time to look into the benefits of love, then it’d be now, right?”
“Yeah because that doesn’t scream cliche. I’ll just swagger over like hey I know I’m a one-eyed man with a checkered and mysterious past but you just have to trust I’m not a serial killer.” Jason shrugged, “I really don’t feel like there’s the one. There’s someone who’s good for me now, but I mean, especially as a bi bro… there’s a lot of fish in that sea. I don’t wanna get stuck in the rut of thinking there’s just one. But. Who knows. Maybe there is just one.” He laughed “the benefits of love? I think we’ve both been single for far too long to speak on the benefits of love. We just have a hazy memory of what they are.” Sitting up he tugged the hair tie out of his long blonde braid and let his hair hang loose around his shoulders, “I’m still young. 24 isn’t that old. But hey. Whatever happens happens.”

can you sort the percy Jackson characters into Hogwarts houses?
YES.
okay so let’s all remember: Gryffindor- ‘courage, bravery, nerve and chivalry’, Hufflepuff -‘hard work, patience, justice and loyalty’, Ravenclaw- ‘intelligence, creativity, learning and wit’, and Slytherin- ‘ambition, cunning, leadership and resourcefulness’.
Annabeth Chase- Ravenclaw, she’s definitely one of the easier ones when it comes to this. While she would fit nicely into other houses, her intelligence and wit are almost always what saves her ass. She’s a great fighter but she prefers talking her way out of situations, disarming her enemies with words. Not to mention she had Arachne weave her own trap on the spot, like, come on.
Thalia Grace- Slytherin. She could definitely fit into Gryffindor, but Thalia’s very ambitious, resourceful as hell, and her fatal flaw is literally being power hungry. She slides into leadership roles automatically and gets enraged when someone tries to question her authority or ability (see: all her fights with Percy, ever). She’s definitely most at home in this house.
Luke Castellan- Hufflepuff. He’s literally a poster boy for the puffs before he joins Kronos. ‘But wait,’ you say, ‘he should be Slytherin, he was cunning and resourceful and leading Kronos’ army!’ NO HE WASN’T. He was following Kronos’ orders and acting like a mouthpiece 90% of the time! Luke had a strong sense of loyalty- and it was used against him. He had a strong sense of justice- and he felt everyone the gods wronged deserved that. He was a hard worker and crazy patient as a camp counselor and those traits came into play when he was working for Kronos. This boy is a Hufflepuff. He also personally recovered Kronos’ remains, so, like, he’s even a particularly good finder.
Grover Underwood- Hufflepuff. Honestly I shouldn’t even really have to explain this one, but: there’s a reason Pan chose him as a replacement. Grover puts his literal everything into whatever task he’s given, whether that be searching for pan, restoring the wild, or protecting demigods. Unfailingly loyal, extremely patient with all the ridiculous demigods around him, and always willing to fight for what’s right even if he’s scared. I love my hufflepuff goat boy!!!
Rachel Elizabeth Dare- Gryffindor. She’d fit in so well in Ravenclaw, to the point where I wanna say ‘fuck it’ and put her there, but like…this girl found out the boy she had almost died around twice was half god and immediately believed him and went Ride Or Die for him. She lead a bunch of potentially crazy strangers through the freaking death trap maze on a hunch that she could. She highjacked a helicopter and flew it into a warzone to help her friend. She let an ancient prophetic spirit posses her body even though she knew the last person who tried lost their mind. She hit the titan lord Kronos in the eye with a plastic hairbrush, and then immediately decided that hairbrush was the only weapon she would ever need to defend herself with, even though everyone else around her has swords or fangs. This girl is batshit crazy impulsive and filled to the brim with nerve, Gryffindor is where she belongs. I love her bye.
Bianca di Angelo- Gryffindor. She was always a little more hesitant than the others, but when push came to shove she always took risks to do what she thought was right. My baby was brave as hell okay.
Zoe Nightshade- Slytherin. She was a great leader for centuries, and dreamed big for the future of the hunters even when she knew she was going to die. Was literally one of the most pulled together people in this entire series. Resourceful as shit. She was also very set in the ways of her past, a common trait among slytherins- she just couldn’t bring herself to care about the mortal world outside of when it directly effected her, and often put up a fight when she had to conform to it. Slytherins are also often very loyal to their own, and, well, we all remember how her story ended. She would do anything for Artemis. I’m literally still crying over her okay bye.
Nico di Angelo- Hufflepuff. I will not stand for all these slytherin Nico posts any longer, guys!!! This boy is a hufflepuff!!!!! Holy shit!! Okay, like, the slytherin traits? He hates leadership, his only ambition is to not have severe depression, and??? cunning??? This fucking loser cunning???? Like, sure, he hid the camps from each other but like…not well. Everyone knew he was hiding something, just no one bothered to press him on it that hard lmao. And he doesn’t do ANYTHING for his own personal gain. He belongs in hufflepuff- Nico is loyal to a fault. He’s been double crossed so many times because it just didn’t occur to him that people would take advantage of him, because he personally would never do that to someone. Nico di Angelo has every reason under the sun to want to betray the gods and he just…doesn’t. He never even considers it for a second, because he has a strong sense of right and wrong, and even if he feels like an outsider at camp that’s still the place where his loyalties lie. Percy, as a narrator, has had moments where he’s been suspicious of Nico’s motives, but he’s never once doubted Nico’s intent. He doesn’t always know if he can trust Nico as a friend but he’s absolutely sure Nico will always be an ally. Nico’s an incredibly hard worker even if he doesn’t let it show to the others, but he’s always pushing himself to his absolute limits to help. And like, again, half the time he doesn’t actually have to work so hard to help, some people never really even expect him to help at all- but he goes out of his way because he knows it the right thing to do. He holds grudges and lashes out in anger because his sense of justice is almost overpowering. This kid is a hufflepuff and I’ll actually fight you on it.
Ethan Nakamura- Gryffindor. He’s…really hard to place, honestly, but I think this spot fits him better than slytherin. Even if he was misguided, he was very brave and had a lot of nerve.
Charles Beckendorf- Gryffindor. This boy was literally everything Godric Gryffindor had in mind when he created the house. He’s a Gryffindor wet dream. Had a lot of nerve, was a big brother to basically everyone in camp, and readily sacrificed himself for the greater cause. My brave boy I miss him.
Silena Beauregard- Hufflepuff. She was extremely loyal, even if she put her faith in the wrong people at points. Sacrificed herself trying to do what she knew was right. Very hardworking and always willing to help anybody. I love her sm.
Clarisse LaRue- Slytherin. Literally who’s more ambitious and resourceful than Clarisse. Who loves taking charge more than Clarisse. No one. No one at all. This girl is 100% Slytherin and she kicks ass doing it.
Will Solace- Hufflepuff. He tries so hard to help people!!! Patient enough to help Nico work through his shit!! Unfailingly loyal to his ridiculous father!!! Never shown to be anything other than a sweet guy who just wants to do good in the world. This goofball sunshine is precious.
Jason Grace- Hufflepuff. Jason often finds himself in positions of power, even though he hates being in power, just because he’s the only one people know they can trust 100%. And he does it without complaining, and does everything he can to make sure everyone he’s working with is doing okay. He acts all stoic to try to make people feel more protected but this fucking dork is always stressed, Ride Or Dies for everyone he knows and if you ask him to describe any of his friends he’ll probably tear up while singing their praises to you. He works SO HARD to make sure everything is going okay, and strongly believes in teamwork. He’s patient enough to deal with, like, everyone he’s ever encountered, and always does what’s in the best interest for others. Speaks up to his father about honoring the forgotten gods because he knows it’s what’s right. A total screaming dork and I love my boy.
Piper McLean- Gryffindor. Like…half of her character arc is dedicated to her learning to be brave and fighting for what’s right. You need a lot of nerve and power to work charmspeak as well as she does, and she’s always ready to pull some ridiculous stunts. She starts out somewhat panicked and timid, but once she starts to grow she realizes that if anything’s gonna get done, it’s because she has to have the balls to do it herself. Will throw herself into dangerous situations, and is fiercely protective of her loved ones. Literally ran into a temple of fear and terror and??? Completely conquered it and took over and used it to wreck a giant???? This girl is a brave badass and nobody should ever mess with her MY GIRL.
Leo Valdez- Ravenclaw. He??? Is literally a prodigy child??? Like I’m sorry I’m just so sick of people downplaying Leo’s intelligence. He understood complicated mathematics and basic engineering before he hit double digits. He captured and fixed Festus all by himself, in one night, when his entire cabin had been trying to do that for months. He found out he was a demigod and threw himself into studying ancient greek history. He designed the entire Argo, is the only person who can fly it and fully understands how it works, and is also the sole person who keeps it up and running with repairs. He figured out how the spheres work in record time, he’s always able to work out complicated riddles or problems. Remember that time he was about to crash into the ocean and he??? Taped the sphere to his chest and built a functioning personal helicopter to steer and soften his crash in like…under three minutes? That time he casually strolled into a grocery store and got all the stuff he needed to make a bomb in half an hour? He’s always making really little inventions that seem silly but are actually incredibly helpful? He’s hyper and goofy, sure, but Leo’s literally a genius. He’s incrediblely creative and fast thinking, loves learning and is always excited by new things. Please give my boy the credit he deserves.
Hazel Levesque- Hufflepuff. Hazel is honestly SO HARD to sort because she’d be a model Gryffindor honestly but like…She didn’t have to sacrifice herself to stop Gaea, but she did anyway because she knew it was the right thing to do. She sacrificed eternal happiness because she knew it wasn’t fair for her mother to suffer. She has a very strong sense of justice and is always willing to fight for it. She’s always giving her 110% when she’s working at anything, be it practicing magic or sword fighting, and it really pays off. She deals with her failures with grace and is unwavering when it comes to the people she loves. Queen.
Frank Zhang- Gryffindor. Literally his Whole Thing is that he has to be brave because he never knows when he’s gonna die. He’s always going to make sacrifices and fight for the people he cares because he’s set on burning bright. He’s got a lot of nerve, he just needs to be pushed to remember its there. A good leader whether he believes he is or not. Even when he’s not feeling confident, courage and bravery are the traits he admires and values most, and that’s what he wants to shoot for. I miss this teddy bear so much.
Reyna Avila Ramirez-Arellano - Gryffindor. Like…come on. This is one of the easier ones. She’s one of the most courageous people in the series. She has enough inner strength that she can lend it all to an entire army. She found the bravery to stand up to her father in defense of her sister. She survived being captured by pirates. She threw herself on top of a bomb to protect the Athena Parthenos. My girl is a custom made Gryffindor.
Calypso- Ravenclaw. She loves learning more than anything else, she’s super creative and ingenuitive, and is taking steps to learn magic again. High hopes for this girl I love her.
Octavian- Slytherin. Doesn’t need much explanation tbh. Very cunning, very ambitious, very power hungry. Willing to do anything to get his way. Remember that time he like, scammed Apollo and then further scammed his camp into basically making him pope??? Wild. I don’t miss him.
Meg McCaffrey- Gryffindor. She’s pretty hard to place but she’s arguably one of the braver characters, even if she doesn’t believe she is. She gets nervous and scared a lot but she’s often able to push past that and stay strong. Back talks everyone under the sun because she barely gives a fuck. At the end of the day she knows what’s right and wrong, and she wants to help.
Percy Jackson- Ravenclaw. Listen. Let me explain. First of all, Percy is SO HARD to place and I completely understand all the ridiculous discourse over whether he’s Gryffindor/Hufflepuff/Slytherin, but I NEVER see cases made for Ravenclaw Percy and I think it’s a travesty, because he’d fit in there quite nicely. So, listen, I know the boy has a bit of a bad rep for being slow, but like…most of the time he really isn’t? It’s just one of those things that got exaggerated. Percy’s a very observant person, he just doesn’t exactly always let the other characters know that. He’s not a straight A student, but we do know he’s not awful- a lot of times there will be moments where he directly goes “hey, I remember learning something like this in school!” and applies whatever it is to the situation. Some of his plans have been crazy or ridiculous, but they are creative, usually have some kind of logic behind them, and do often work out for him- when they had to get off the Thrill Ride O’ Love, when he used Thalia’s shield as a sled for them down a hill, when he pulled a stunt similar to that trying to get to camp Jupiter, when he somehow made a pulley system out of chains and pulled his giant half brother off the ground, stuff like that. Like Annabeth, he’s also very good at talking his way out of situations- he doesn’t always like to, but he can absolutely pull it off when he needs to. He’s a very smart talker, honestly, there are multiple instances of him managing to manipulate others into doing what he wants them to (not just the scene with Bob, which gets the most attention bc it was outside of his pov). He’s incredibly witty, in both definitions of the word, and often times it works to his advantage because other characters downplay his intelligence. He has a good sense for battle strategy, and he’s incredibly perceptive about his surroundings, often times picking up on things the others (even Annabeth!) miss. He has a strong intuition and things usually work out when he follows it. There’s more I can use to back this up but this is already long enough, point is- I think Percy is just an unconventional Ravenclaw. Like, upon meeting him you don’t immediately understand why he’s in that house, but it becomes clearer the more he opens up, like Luna, I guess? Anyway, I love my boy and he’s very smart please give him some credit.
Feel free to send me your guys’ opinions!!! :)
