jojo relationship headcanons: the jojos

i need more anime mutuals 😫 and i’ve also had jojo brain rot for the past week. anyways this is separated into four spectate parts. one which is all six jojos. two is jobros part 1. three is jobros part 2. and part four is main villains.

jonathan jostar ☆

•just the sweetest man you have ever met oh my god. he’s the kind of boyfriend people write love stories about

•super physical at home. always holding your hand , cuddling you , kissing you - the works. but in public he is more of a gentleman. if he feels the need to protect you he will grab your hand but for the most part he’s hands off

•he’s thrilled that danny likes you. though he’s a bit jealous that the dog gets more affection than him some days

•jojo gets extra flustered with pet names.

• “jonathan, darling, i need help grabbing this book”.

•the man is in absolute shambles. he’s putty in your hands. at this point

•despite his buff figure he likes to be little spoon once in a while. being held makes all the burdens in his world disappear

•very straightforward yet somewhat soft spoken. if he has an issue he will address it immediately but in the kindest way possible

•he’s afraid to be vulnerable sometimes. he doesn’t want to seem weak

•a morning person !! wakes up at the crack of dawn ready to greet the day with a smile. he’s careful not to wake you up though.

•is also super open about his intentions. he plans on marrying you and having five children. it doesn’t matter if their adopted he just wants a nice big family

•does his very best no matter what so overall he’s a 1000/10

• the perfect mixture of a best friend and boyfriend. there is never a dull moment around jojo

•the dates he takes you on are always spontaneous and fun. late night skinny dipping , joy rides around the city , harassing ceaser. you name it

•is actually really stylish so best believe he os going to put together some matching outfits.

•and i hope you like to eat because he loves trying new foods. he pretends like it’s for the class and the rich experience but he just likes the food

•isn’t the best listener but if he needs to remember something he will. don’t worry about forgotten birthdays or anniversaries he won’t forget. can’t promise you he won’t forget his chores.

•speaking of which he loves to throw elaborate parties. it’s an every weekend affair

•likes to get dressed up and show off how gorgeous the two of you are together. he will flaunt you all around the room if he can.

•gets jealous sometimes. he’s super verbal about it. all he needs is a little reassurance.

•it doesn’t matter how long you’ve been dating he will still flirt with you like he did when you first met

•loves to dance! and yes you will be learning as well.

•you will never be bathing alone again jojo is always there for company

•when he can’t sleep he likes to brainstorm baby names with you. even if you’re one month into dating he just finds it fun

•loves to gossip with you and the girls at the cafe. it’s become a bit of a tradition

•a kind and giving soul, though he won’t show the outside world

•such an ass sometimes. he will put things in high places , move your stuff around or have star hide it for him. for a high school student he sure is childish.

•he doesn’t show any type of affection when you’re at school. as cold as this seems he just doesn’t want all the girls to start targeting you. he can’t bear to see his baby hurt

•your first date was an aquarium date. shocker. he loves looking at the sea life and learning about them. beach trips are quite common with him as well.

•jojo usually isn’t one to talk but with you he’s chatting your ear off. he has so much to say sometimes.

•walks you home every day after school. even if he misses a day he will walk his ass right up to that building and wait.

•he gets into fights on the regular so be prepared to get a load of first aid experience. he tries not to worry you with his wounds but they’re always visible

•hates large groups of people so lunch will be eaten on the roof. students aren’t supposed to be up there so it’s always vacant

•holly will make you and jojo a lunch. they’re always so good.

•jotaro tries to keep you away from his doting mother and grandfather but that doesn’t last for long. before you know it they’re all over you.

•you love his family though you aren’t sure what he’s so embarrassed of. they’re so sweet and fun to be around

•since he’s no good with words he’ll buy you little things. flowers,food, little stuffies. he’s even written a letter or two

•this is his first relationship so be patient with the baby. most of his relationship advice comes from his mother and okayasu

•small town gossip spreads fast so i hope you didn’t want a private relationship with jojo. he is more than happy to show you off to the world

•he has only experienced relationships through movies and manga. a lot of his actions are cliche and a but cringe but he’s cute so.

•hates the aquarium. jotaro suggests it as a first date spot and josuke laughs in his face.

•holds your hand all around school. he is not shy about showing you off now that everyone knows.

•includes you in like EVERYTHING. he doesn’t want you to feel left out at any time. josuke will explain stands and all that just so you’re up to speed. don’t be scared though y/n. he won’t let anyone hurt you.

•he’s a teenage boy after all so he will try to look cool infront of you all the time. weather that’s getting into a fight or balancing on the rusty rail of a bridge.

•you and tomoko are so close!! josuke acts like he’s annoyed but he’s just so glad you’re getting along

•makes plans with you for the future. he wants to get out of morioh, get married , travel the world. don’t worry he isn’t going to pressure you.

•did someone say double dates ? koichi and josuke set up little get togethers once a month. they’re usually at tonios.

•weather you like it or not okayasu will be sit in on the double dates. doesn’t care about all the love shit he’s there for the food

•treats you like royalty weather you like it or not. anything you’ve ever wanted is all yours.

•you are no longer allowed to walk the streets alone so i hope you don’t plan on doing anything shady y/n because there will always always ALWAYS be someone accompanying you

•poetry is one of his specialties so when he’s not doing anything he will write you a beautiful page and give it to you later

•wants to take you travelling. the world is a beautiful place and he wants to make sure you experience it first hand

•he isn’t home as much as he’d like to be so expect a loooot of late night phone calls

•she has a bit of trouble showing love because of some childhood trauma but she’s been working on it for you

•wanna see a cool smoke trick? of course you do.

•she misses you so much while she’s locked up. your visits/phone calls is what keeps her going

•when jolyne gets out it’s full of PDA and date after date. there’s lots to make up for

•anime conventions with her are an absolute blast. she loves taking you and showing you all the things she likes

ღ a/n: This is based off Billie Eilish’s song ‘wish you were gay’ and I feel like i actually became a fucken poet with this. I’m sorry for the amount of therapy bills imma have to pay after this really sad fic…but also i feel like this is the perfect pining and unrequited love trope song that billie wrote imo.

ღ "Baby, I don't feel so good", six words you never understood

"I'll never let you go", five words you'll never say

Jo had this reacurring dream that you'd be here. In her bed. With her. Happy.

Everytime, you'd look to her and smile. Your one dimple on your left cheek more prominent as you layed on her chest. She'd stroke your hair, a matching smile plastered on their soft pink lips.

Josette would then say how they wished they could stay like this forever. You and her. Together. Finally happy. You'd smile, cheeks warming a soft pink, before your arms wrapped tighter around her waist, legs tangling together creating a perfectly entangled mess.

"Don't worry, baby. I'll never let you go."

That's usually where the dream ends. Waking up to cold sheets, no you by her side. Poorly dimmed room setting the precedent that her life feels just a little more empty without that part of you in it.

ღ I laugh along like nothing's wrong, four days has never felt so long

If three's a crowd and two was us, one slipped away

"Bye, you'd guys would make a cute little old lesbian couple!" Katie laughed as she watched you and Jo bickering over something so tiny. Naomi nodding their head in agreement, a small chuckle escaping their lips.

You laughed, a weird feeling settling in your stomach. You'd never even looked at Jo that way. So why would others think the opposite of you? You had a boyfriend.

Jo had noticed the look you gave her. Your joking and feigned annoyance over the small tussle, now shutting down the unserious side of you. It was because Katie had made a lesbian joke when you were straight, right?

Could you never think of her in such a way that when a joke is made, you get uncomfortable? Jo didn't want to over analyze so they laughed, albeit it was dry and short. A small pang in her chest, she wiped the tip of her nose, taking a deep breath and started to scroll on her phone.

She only had a day and a couple hours left to endure of this painful 4-day getaway friends trip. They just wanted it to be over.

ღ I just wanna make you feel okay

But all you do is look the other way

"Hey, what’s wrong? Are you okay, baby?" Baby. She knew she should stop calling you that. That's something she's only ever heard him call you. Nicknames like that weren't reserverad for someone like her in your life.

"I'm okay, I could just really use a hug right now." You sighed, tears starting to well up in your eyes as you wrapped your arms around her neck, her arms finding place on your waist.

"What do you need? Let me make you feel better, yeah?" Josette pulled away from you, her arms going from either side of your upper arms, to lifting your chin so you could see her. So she could look you in your pained eyes once, to see that she never wanted them to look that way again.

"Hey, you called me?" Jo recognized his voice anywhere. Your boyfriend. Of course. She should have known he'd be the first one you called. They should have known that whatever was bothering you, whoever made you cry, what ever you were struggling with, the burden was yours to carry and his to help.

How naive of Jo to think that maybe this once, you'd actually want her. Need her, to help you.

The more Jo had thought about yours and hers relationship, the more she thought about just up and leaving. She hates to admit that she spent a good amount of time every now and then wondering what her life would be like without you in it.

She knew what she felt was real, she knew you wouldn't ever give her a shot. The friendship was great. Blissful. But what could she possibly stay for if whenever she was around you, the crippling feeling of longing and yearning to feel you and know you completely; all of you, was something so impossible?

The way she felt...the way she wanted you to love her. It was so strong that she prayed that you'd soon realize that maybe he wasn't the right man for you and what you needed was her. A woman.

She wished you were gay. She wished it was her you longed to be with. To feel their skin. To know them so deeply and romantically that whatever you did, you did it because you loved them. Not him.

It was wrong. It was wrong that she wished your healthy relationship that made you happy, would crash and burn like her mind, heart and soul, whenever you walked into a room. How she prayed for impending doom on two happy people so she could be the one to make you happy. It was selfish. It was wrong.

You weren't gay, but god, she wished you were.

Josette knew the only thing holding this friendship together was her. She didn't have to stay, have to be here. She didn't need to make herself feel this way.

You had him. You spent most of your time with him, most of your guys' plans cancelled or postponed because he needed something.

As a silent lover, she watched as you made time for him. Showed up for him. Yeah, you showed up for Jo too, but never with as much love and passion as you had for him. You did actually, but just not the kind that Josette wanted. You chose him. She just wished you chose her instead.

This was no different. You had plans to meet up for lunch. This nice cafe, in the middle of both your residing areas and it was all going to happen at 2. Soon, the first five minute of waiting turned into 15. Then to 30. Multiple messages sent to you waiting for an ETA.

You responded in seconds with a short response of a emergency on his side of the family. Jo sighed, the dull and aching feeling rising in her chest again.

They had to stop thinking swooping you away from him was going to change the fact that you weren't into girls. Jo had known you caught on.

Maybe this was her punishment: All the forced proximity and trying to change something already set in stone, was rejection by the one person she sought acception from. This was you pushing her away. God how could she be so stupid.

Jo was never going to change your mind, maybe this was the only way you could tell her without breaking her heart. Letting her eat alone...be alone.

When you started having problems with him, Jo heard about it. To Jo, it seemed that she was only here for you when he wasn’t. That wasn’t even true. It’s just the way her mind chose to see it, to be able to cope with the rejection she took in an absolute way.

She shouldn’t have let these feelings get in the way. She was setting herself up.

Josette couldn’t fathom loving anyone else with her whole being. It’d take a nuclear act of god to get her to stop her life from circling around you. The purgatory that was loving you when you couldn’t love her the way she wanted you to, was something she’d take over anyone else. The constant suffering was worth it.

You always ran to him for your romantic needs. But Jo’s heart had always ran back to you. She knew you knew. You just know she could never act on it without you setting up a block. So you did it all the time when you were around her.

Maybe in another universe or lifetime, she’d get to have you and experience different parts of you the way he did.

You may have looked at your boyfriend with heart eyes and the most romantic, endearment and adoration and with Josette, you looked at her the same.

Platonically binded by both your caring souls, like mindedness, and mutual interests. She was your soulmate in bestfriend form. You had certainly thought that if you had liked girls, or if Jo had been a boy, you’d love to love her in more ways than one.

But she wasn’t. Something about you two, together in this lifetime, was something that felt wrong. She was always meant to be your bestfriend. Nothing more. Josette had understood that.

She understood that it’s something you had grown up to understand was something that wasn’t socially accepted, atleast by your family. So she understood why you couldn’t pursue something romantic together.

She felt that maybe you did love her, maybe even felt the attraction, but she just wasn’t a man. The idea was unsettling to swallow at first—but it appeased her brain to know that it could happen…if the circumstances were different.

The longing was weighing down. The burden of carrying such a strong but passionate love for someone who couldn’t physically return it was starting to fuck with Jo.

She knew it was selfish to pray that you’d change your mind about your sexual orientation. To pray that you have always been that way but wanted to hide it. She prayed for any possibility that’d allow you to love her how she wished you did.

But she knew it’d never work. No matter what she said or did, nothing was going to change your mind.

She knew that; they couldn’t stand this anymore. It was becoming too much for her. The attachment and attraction blossomed more than she could’ve imagined. She needed to stop. Needed to forget you. Needed someone else.

But she couldn’t do that to you. Her body and soul couldn’t allow it. She couldn’t stand to breathe the same air as you if you weren’t breathing it together. How could she form a new connection and love someone so deeply when every part of her had already belonged to you.

Together. Together. Together. It’s all she’s ever wanted.

It was on her face, in her eyes, everytime they looked at you. You couldn’t bare seeing Jo in it so deeply and you couldn’t return it. You never wanted someone to break Jo’s heart.

It just never occurred to you that you were the one doing it. Everytime they looked at you, they always thought the same thing.

“I just wish you were gay”

Repeated like a never ending song in her brain. Everytime she was with you, she wanted to confess the feelings that she’s been carrying ever since you guys met. It was overwhelming and heartbreaking but a privilege.

Jo would rather you break her heart a little more everyday than anyone at all. She’d settle for the possibility of her possibly being able to change your mind about girls than forget the way you made every inch of her feel.

To feel love in the most absolute way. It was a privilege to love someone like you. So it was either she had to repeat the mantra in her mind and just go on about their day, pretending everything was fine, or not have you at all. She’d choose the first one everytime.

Cause she knew…in another life, you two would have it all. You be running to her. For anything. Whether it was for comfort or romantic endeavors. She’d be the one you’d choose.

You two would be together.

-> hihi! and yes omg ofcc!! i haven't shifted to my jjba dr yet but i would LOVEE to just ramble all about it if you don't mind 😌 gonna make it all aesthetic and cute too cuz hell yea😍

★ . about my jjba desired reality!

right now, i only have one jjba desired reality which the whole thing about is me going on all the adventures from part three to five!

i think in the future i want to have a few more desired realities like one experiencing part two and part six and maybe even more of the parts if i end up finishing the other mangas! i also want to have a jjba dr set in modern times and also a jjba-based reality with kpop idols!

the timeline: in my main jjba reality, i've changed the timeline of some things so i can experience all the adventures in the different parts with the jojo boys in succession one after the other.

for example, when i first shift to this reality, i start with going on the adventures of part three with jotaro and the other stardust crusaders. the events of part four happen a year after the events of the stardust crusaders adventures when me, and jotaro are ordered to go to morioh by the speedwagon foundation to investigate well, jotaro's 'cousin'😭

in this reality, there was no affair 😙 joseph has a daughter and a son: holly and hugo. hugo is holly's younger brother and when he graduates high school, he goes off to japan for university. however, he meets tomoko there and they become a couple. long story short, he gets her pregnant and he never told any of his family, in fear of what they might say about him having a child so young. so that's how there is no affair that makes everyone go crazy, how josuke exists and how i can experience adventures when i'm not an old lady and i don't have to wait like twenty years between each adventure! (lmao)

obviously i can't live without kakyoin being dead and everyone else, so they live in this version 🤗 also, i made dio sort of less? evil? he doesn't actually commit any crimes against other humans (except blood-sucking ew but he doesn't kill anyone and just keeps people hostage as slaves and maids while he does his evil bidding eek) but is just hellbent on 'destroying' the joestar bloodline.

thinking about adding some other people into this reality too? for example, i was really contemplating adding sunghoon into this reality and making him one of dio's sons or something but during part three, he turns on his father and helps us defeat him 😜 this is a possible addition but i'm not sure if i'll go through with this or not!

i also have some generational pact with the brandos (i didn't do it, my grandpa did smh), though i fight with the joestars. long story short, my grandpas was in love with dio and made a pact that he would swear to protect the brando bloodline (my grandpa = speedwagon but dio's version) /hj might explain this later but im still in the works with figuring out how it's going to work and the backstory behind it!

★ . about me!

background: i was born in australia on the (??\??\???? - not sure on the dates and whether i want it to be set in the 80's or the 00's). i was born with a faint, butterfly-shaped marking on my back. none of my parents knew what it meant but as i grew older, it continued to grow darker, and darker. self-conscious of the odd mark etched into my back, i bandaged it up to hide it. i lived a pretty peaceful childhood. however, the after i turned thirteen years of age, very strange occurrences kept happening to me.

there were some instances where things would become heavier or lighter, or where my parents felt as if they were moving in slow-motion or faster than usual. i would get weird dreams, some of the past, and some of the very, far future.

little did i know, this was all the work of my stand manifesting.

not knowing what was happening, i was shipped off to japan to live with my uncle, in tokyo in hopes that my uncle would be able to fix whatever was going on with me. you see, my uncle is a very spiritual man. while he works as an astronomer and a psychologist, he is very knowledgeable in the likes of tarot cards, magic, and otherworldly forces (etc). he did everything he could and that was in his power to try and figure out what was happening to me, since that was his forte and all.

and thus, after years of dealing with these strange incidents, at the age of 15, my stand manifested before me. i was crossing the street, on the way back to my uncle's apartment from visiting a convenience store. however, i didn't notice a car zooming towards me until it was too late. i shut my eyes, assuming it was all over. this was my fate: i was going to die a horrible and painful death. and there was nothing i could to about it.

i shut my eyes, bracing myself for the impact and my inevitable doom.

i waited.

and waited.

and yet, i felt nothing.

the impact never came. the excruciating pain and blast i expected to feel, never hit my body.

i was alive. and completely unscathed. but. . . how?

i wearily opened my eyes and to me confusion and horror, i saw her. i saw a strikingly beautiful but eerie human-like creature floating in front of me. it had it's arms extended out toward the car, which was now moving at an impeccably slow snail's pace.

after standing there in shock for a few seconds, i shook my head and scurried away.

around a few times after this incident, the frequency at which i had those 'weird' dreams dramatically increased. they turned from being a fortnightly, even monthly occurrence, to having those dreams many nights in a row, back to back.

oddly enough, with every dream i was having, i couldn't help but feel they were starting to feel a lot less like dreams but a lot more like visions.

after two weeks of more odd visions and happenings, i finally told my uncle. he was deeply puzzled as he tried to make sense of what was happening to me. and after a few minutes of pondering, something washed over his face.

was it relief? or more confusion?

did he finally work out what was happening to me?

but in the end, all he told me what that if i were to ever run into a man with the name 'Joseph Joestar' he made me promise i were to stick with him if i ever met him.

i asked him who he was, and all he replied with was: "Joseph? oh why, he's just a very good old friend of mine."

and so, i continue my life as usual, trying to deal and overpower these strange incidents and even became familiar with my beautiful and endearing new creature. luckily for me, i was enrolled in an online school so any incidents i would have would hardly leave a scratch on my grades and records.

although, this completely changed in the last year of my high school.

you see, my uncle wanted me to have a 'fun' and 'memorable' high school experience, especially considering it was my last year. and so, he enrolled me into an actual high school, which would change the course of my fate forever.

and what a 'fun' and memorable year it was. . .

appearance: has a slim and feminine appearance. it's body is a gradient and mix of light baby blue, lilac purple and cotton candy pink, with the phases of the moon imprinted on it's chest. it wears a majestic headpiece of a butterfly on it's head, which is coloured a shimmering mix of pastel gold, purple and pink. it's eyes are a deep blur colour, and has transparent blue 'butterfly' wings.

And the Polling Tells Us...

According to recent* polling:

66% of Americans believe that President Biden is failing. 50% of Americans believe that trans issues are being exaggerated. 100% of Americans believe that New York pizza is the best pizza. 33% of Americans believe that diversity in the workplace is important. 40% of Americans believe that reading comprehension is overrated.

I'm a proponent of using data over feelings when it comes to determining my investment in the current dysfunctional nature of Americans these days. Yes, I'm the cat who, when he reads a headline that states unequivocally that NUCLEAR ENERGY SHOWN TO BE SEXIST, RACIST, AND ABLEIST IN RECENT STUDY, goes to the study and reads it to parse out fact from fiction. When I read an article in the New York Times that links to a Pew poll that indicates that 87% of Hispanic Americans loathe the term LatinX I click the link to see if that is truth or bullshit. I read a headline that tells me ‌Candace Cameron Bure Posted A Five-Minute Video Explaining Why JoJo Siwa Called Her The Rudest Celeb She's Ever Met, I think "I don't know who the fuck these people are so who gives a shit?"

Not long ago, as I was checking out a Gallup poll about something highly partisan claiming to define the sides of yet another boutique cultural issue, it occurred to me that in 56 years, I had never been a part of one of these vaunted polls. Following up that thought was the realization that I didn';t know anyone who had been polled by Pew or Gallup despite living in a list of cities and states. Later, as this dilemma spiraled in my sun-soaked brain at the pool, I asked the burley dude sunning a few chairs away "Hey. Dude. Have you ever participated in one of those Gallup polls?" He had not.

I asked the six or seven adults out at the pool and none of us had ever been asked to be one of the poll people. Who are these people they ask? How many of them are there? Are they the same set of individuals who determine the results? What are the questions and how are they skewed?

Time to get busy.

The next day, I headed over to the 7-Eleven on the Sahara. I decided to do some of my own Literate Ape polling*.

I wore a shirt and tie in 111˚ heat, had a clipboard, and asked people if they would consent to answering one question for an official poll. Everyone (including the homeless guy who resembled an emaciated Kid Rock) agreed and answered. All told, I received polling data from eighteen Americans currently either living in or visiting Las Vegas, Nevada. Demographics covered included 22-34, 35-54, 55-67, White, African American, Hispanic American, and whatever ethnicity and age Kid Rock represented. Ten women, eight men.

The results (with scrutiny):

66% of Americans believe that President Biden is failing. I asked three people "How's Joe Biden doing as president so far?"

50% of Americans believe that trans issues are being exaggerated. Two people were asked "Trans Issues: Mountain or Molehill?"

100% of Americans believe that New York pizza is the best pizza. Kid Rock answered affirmatively to the question "Is New York Pizza the best?" I don't think he knew the difference between an NYC slice and any other kind of pizza nor if he actually understood the question.

33% of Americans believe that diversity in the workplace is important. Three people (Black, white, Hispanic) were asked. Only the white woman thought diversity was important.

40% of Americans believe that reading comprehension is overrated. Ten people. Six thought reading comprehension was either a good thing or "Yeah. It's OK." Four hated reading and prefer social media to reading.

The entire experiment reminded me of the doctor recommendations of smoking unfiltered cigarettes because they are good for your "T" zone in the 1950s, the 4 out of 5 dentists who recommend Trident, and the back and forth in medical studies that either encourage coffee drinking as healthy or as the cause of early dementia.

This is not to say that these official national polls are as full of shit as my Literate Ape polls. Both Gallup and Pew have methodologies in place and, if you look into each set of results you can find out the exact phrasing of the questions and the select grouping of people polled but, for Chrissakes, don't just accept these results as fact.

In case you were wondering, the average children for Literate Ape editors is 1 and the average divorces for that demographic is 1.5. Them's the facts.

Just something I’ve been thinking about.

Across Parts 1-6, JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure follows the social/‘moral’ (loosely using this) degradation of the Joestar line.

Part 1: Jonathan Joestar is a nobleman. He is considered a gentleman, and follows a code of chivalry, both personal and socially recognized. We also see the destruction of the Joestar Mansion, perhaps to reflect a loss of more than just a physical home? Jonathan dies and loses his body to Dio post-Morten.

Part 2: Joseph Joestar isn’t noble, per se, but still very upper-class. He’s a trickster, but still has a heart of gold. But, while still alive by the end of his part, he’s permanently maimed, having lost an arm in the process of stopping the Pillarmen. Perhaps this, too, is more than just a physical loss.

Part 3: Jotaro Kujo is a juvenile delinquent. He’s rude, but we do see him expressing his care for friends and family in his own way. After all, the adventure to Egypt is to save his mother’s life. While there’s no physical loss on his person or to his property, he does experience trauma. He also destroys Dio’s journal, a loss of someone else’s that will impact him later.

Part 4: similar to Jotaro, Josuke Higashikata is a juvenile delinquent. However, he’s much more open and polite than his predecessor. This is the first JoJo we see with some sort of healing ability, mainly focusing on reparation. This is in stark contrast to the Part 4 antagonist, whose stand reflects total destruction. Kira is a serial killer who maims his victims in the process of killing them, keeping only a hand. It’s a fascinating inverse: Josuke’s foe takes his victims’ hands, while Josuke’s father lost his hand to his own foe. This Part also marks the least amount of character deaths across Parts 1-6.

Part 5: Giorno Giovanna has surpassed the delinquency, and we have barely met him before he’s become a gangster in organized crime. As the son of the Jonathan-bodied Dio, we see him express both the noble ideals of his Joestar lineage, but also the ruthlessness of Dio to achieve his dreams. His ability with nature reflects a bending of the natural order to his will, which could be connected with what we later learn was in the journal Jotaro burned in Part 3. Man bending the natural order to fulfill his ambitions, perhaps? Part 5 also marks the most deaths of major and minor characters, a paradox to both Giorno’s stand ability and a contrast to Part 4.

Part 6: Jolyne Cujoh is a convicted criminal, even though she is innocent. Unlike Josuke and Giorno, she doesn’t have a healing stand; instead, hers reflects incredible flexibility in bad situations. Her story also marks the culmination of Dio’s actions, carried on by his own allies beyond his death. Unlike the previous JoJos, Jolyne ultimately fails in her goals, but so too does Pucci. In a way, Parts 1 to 6 being bookended by the deaths of JoJos is fitting. While the original universe experiences the near-total loss of Jolyne and her allies, we do see a new-universe version of them. So is it total loss, or a shift of being? The old world doesn’t exist, but the new one is extremely similar to it. The one remainder of the old world is Emporio.

I’m not entirely sure if Araki intended for this to be an overarching theme with JoJo, but it’s something I’ve been thinking about. It is a fascinating pattern to observe.
