The Break Up
Standing right before you, he locked his cold eyes to yours. With hands in pocket of his jet black suit and his slick hair parted to the side Joong Ki looked painfully handsome.
"Let's end it here Y/N. We tried but it does not work."
You thought things were fine so had no idea why he was blowing cold as if he was unrecognizable. Then it all hit you. He was pretending but you were too blind to see. Biting your tongue to hold back the venomous words you wanted to shout, you simply shook your head.
"Not work? What is not going to work, Joong Ki? I try my best to look pretty when you are around. I cook the dishes you like. I even found the Vinly of Elvis Presley you always wanted to buy. Now tell me? What's not enough?"
Eyes closed his fingers pinched the bridge of his nose.
"Y/N you breathe through me, you live for me. That's overwhelming. You drew the perfect future for us but I... I cannot see myself living in it."
Those words were unfiltered and true. You were way too excited and self involved to see how he felt. The thin silver couple ring on your finger felt heavier. The promise you would walk down the aisle was broken. Looking away from the beautiful man you lent your heart, you let out a deep sigh. Gently taking the ring off, you took two steps towards Joong Ki.
"Guess its time for me to burn that picture."
He gazed down at the ring on his palm and looked up to you again. As if he expected you to beg or stop him. Yes, you would but what he told you hurt more than anything. His deep voice echoed in your ears.
"I am sorry Y/N. I should have told you sooner."
Since your little fist tightened, your knuckles turned white. You hissed through your teeth.
"To save time for both of us? What a cliché."
Surprised by your reaction, Joong Ki kept staring with wide eyes. He was about to say something but filtered those words.
"I really liked you but..."
You raised your hand to stop him from talking.
"Just leave Joong Ki... Being nice will not make up for anything. Especially regret..."
You had no idea you said the last part out loud until he raised his eyebrows.
"Regret? What do you regret Y/N?"
Startled for a good moment you let your thoughts out.
"You... You have been my first for almost everything. When I think about it, I barely know about love except you. You have been my only way and I did not even look away. I would not save myself for you if I knew..."
You did not realize you were crying until his long fingers reached to sweep a drop of tear. You just guarded his hand with yours. If his warm hand touched you, there was noway for you to hold yourself.
"You know I am glad you did... It's just..."
His voice was even deeper as if it was possible. The soft way he spoke was complete opposite the way he broke you into pieces. You shook your head.
"You mistook me for a docile cat but I am not. I am a bird Joong Ki and my cage was your heart. I am not in there anymore so..."
That moment was his only hesitation but there was noway going back.
"...so you will fly away? We both know you are too naive."
The subtle mockery in his voice was impassible. Closing your eyes, you gulped inaudibly. He believed you were going to keep lingering and not let him go. That was the last straw for you. Joong Ki saw the flames in your eyes as you spoke.
"Come and pack your stuff while I am at work tomorrow."
His head slightly down, Joong Ki asked as he put his poker face back on.
"What about yours? Should I..."
You simply cut him off.
"I don't need anything back. Just throw them away."
With that you walked to your bedroom leaving him staring behind.

AFTERWARDS
Not to lie the break up took a toll on you. The next day work was a huge pain. You hardly could focus and had to review the reports again and again. When it was finally time to leave you let out a big sigh of relief.
Back at home you noticed the door was not locked. Hearing footsteps inside, your eyes grew twice their size in panic since you thought there was a burglar. Just when you grabbing a vase you saw Joong Ki walking out of the bedroom you once shared. His eyes travelled between you and the big black vase a few times.
"Well... I know you are mad but I hope you are not plotting a murder."
His deep voice was your weakness as always but you did not let your guard down. Rolling your eyes in annoyance, you put the vase back in its place.
"I told you to pack you stuff when I was not around."
You reminded him. He averted his gaze then showed his bag to you.
"Do not worry. I am leaving."
A simple okay along with a nod was your only response before you made your way to the kitchen. Realizing he did not move you stopped by the door.
"I hope you are not expecting me to see you off?"
You asked with your right eyebrow arched. Joong Ki let out a deep sigh before he left his bag on the couch.
"Come on Y/N... We are adults. Stop acting like enemies."
You shook your head along with a low chuckle.
"Enemies? For us to be enemies you have to remain in my life. So no... We are not enemies Joong Ki... We are strangers... We are nothing..."
With a grin you have not seen before, he whispered.
"Ohh... Even strangers can have a cup of coffee as they meet so..."
Then he followed you into the kitchen. Joong Ki gently sat down by the table like he used to do. That moment felt familiar yet so different. The inaudible buzz of the coffee machine was the only sound. You put the creme just as much as he liked out of habbit. There you sat two cups in front of you and no words spoken. You had a lot to ask but what was the use. Joong Ki knew so he took the first step.
"I want to thank you for everything Y/N. Yes, I think we cannot be together for a long time but I will remember us in a good way so I do not want to end this just like that."
Taking your sip you put the cup down calmly.
"I think we should end it just like that Joong Ki because once you write the last part there will only be bitterness."
Eyes never leaving yours, you saw them softened while he reached for your hand. His softness went away when you pulled away from his touch. Grabbing your cup again you blurted out the question you feared the most.
"Is there someone else?"
Clearly offended Joong Ki raised his voice a little bit.
"You think I cheated on you?"
You shook your head.
"I don't know Joong Ki. I still cannot understand this at all so I thought maybe..."
He tilted his head once before he explained.
"I do not feel the same way for you and I guess I am interested in someone new so I just thought it was for the best if we end things before I make a mess out of this."
Another chuckle left your mouth that surprised him.
"You have always been thoughtful."
Your mockery was impossible for him not to notice but he did not know what to say.
"Well I assume you noticed we need time to be strangers so you should leave."
With that you left the kitchen. You heard the low thud of the door as you entered your bedroom.

THE BIRTHDAY SURPRISE
It has been two months since you broke up and you last saw him. And the first night you were going out since then. Excited you stood by the wardrobe to find someting elegant for your friend's birthday party. You decided on black and picked the mini dress Joong Ki bought as a gift. With shoulders down it looked sort of innocent. However you switched the game a little with the highest pair of shoes you had. The leopard print was certainly assertive yet the black dress softened it.
Putting your hair into a classic up-do you proceeded for your make up. Using natural nude tones you finished it later than expected since you had trouble with eyeliner. When it was done you were satisfied since you got the fox eye look you wanted. Grabbing your clutch and phone you finally left for the party.
The place was not that big but sure luxurious. The tables were decorated with bright blue ribbons and white balloons. You saw a faw familiar faces so stopped by their table to greet and chat with them. Gina came over and joined you for a bit. Then she said she had an important announcement so left your side soon. Grabbing a glass of champagne she walked through the stage. With a wide smile she thanked eveyone.
"And since we are all here I would like to use this chance to announce our relationship with Joong Ki."
With that sentence your blood froze in your veins. Stunned you watched Joong Ki casually walk in a navy blue suit matching Gina's dress. You obviously cut ties before but that did not made the situation less shocking.
Your hands began shaking so you hand to put them on your legs under the table so people would not see. Trying not to give anything away you did your best to put on a sweet smile on your lips. Clapping like everyone else you stood there, eyes still locked with Joong Ki.
You had no idea why he seemed distressed. He probably did not expect you to be there. Then it was time for the presents. You watched people congragulate them happily. Still holding the champagne you chugged it down when it was finally your turn.
Gina welcomed you with a cute smile that you were sure was fake. She accepted the gift kindly and you congragulated them like everyone else. Joong Ki seemed as if he wanted to say something but he remained silent. However Gina decided to push your button when she asked.
"I am so sorry..."
Pretended as if you had no idea, you tilted your head.
"What for?"
Gina kept her smile.
"Joong Ki and I... It must have been a big surprise for you but I hope you understand."
You simply nodded before burrying them with kindness.
"Yes it was a surprise but I wish you happiness. May I give a friendly advice? You cannot win a born player if you don't know how to play."
Not waiting for their reaction you just walked away. Making your way to the bathroom you finally had yourself some space to calm down. Trying to stiffle your cries you took your time. Soon you heard a gentle knock. It was your best friend Yoon Na so you left the bathroom stall to talk to her. She was equally mad as you.
You both talked and talked for almost fifteen minutes. Yuna came up with a crazy yet funny idea that would not be enough to make them but was sure to be annoying. Giggling you pulled your lipstick.
"You take over here and I will take the men's room."
Taking baby steps you slowly peeked through the door of the man's room. When you made sure there was noone around you sneaked in. Running to the first stall you wrote Gina's number. Then you moved to the second one. Then you heard two guys walking in.
Gritting you teeth you locked the door and climbed on the toilet so they would not see your heels. You waited for a few minutes until you heard the door again. The silence made you belive there was noone. You opened the door slowly only to meet the tall man that was fixing his hair.
Both starttled his gaze met you through the mirror then shifted to the number you wrote. The handsome man chuckled as he turned around to face you. His hair seemed soft as it fell on both sides on his cheeks. The dark grey shirt fitted well to his wide shoulders and thin waist.
You made your way to the door until he called for you. His deep velvety voice completed his delicate face. Closing your eyes, you turned around. Trying to play it cool you shurgged.
"Sorry, wrong room."
Hoping to get away you turned aroun but he playfully nodded twice.
"Uh-huh... More like wrong revenge."
You knew it was childish but hearing it was even worse. Averting your gaze you probably looked like a menace.
"Okay I know it is petty but I had to do something."
Then you heard footsteps getting closer. Luckily the handsome man was quick to react to hold the door to buy you some time. The visitor almost shouted and you noticed who it was. It was Joong Ki. Mentally cursing yourself you hit your forehead to your palm. The man noticed the man you seeked revenge was Joong Ki. He looked down at you with a cunning smile.
"Do you want an actual revenge?"
Confused you raised your eyebrows at him.
"Such as?"
He leaned in to whisper.
"Mess your hair and bite your lip."
He moved to undo the button of his sleeves. Confused, you finally realized what will the situation look like. Reaching for his hand you stopped him.
"So he will want me back if he believes I had sex with you? No, thanks. I will not put myself in that situation for anyone."
Tongue poking his cheek, he tugged the string of hair behind your ear.
"Whoever it is, he lost a gem."
Time slowed down for a moment but the knock on the door caused you to fall back to reality. You ran towards the first stall. After Joong Ki left the handsome man guided you outside until the first hallway. You ran away after you thanked him.
Tumblr media
THE NIGHT GOES ON
Your eyes met Joong Ki a few times but that was all. Another drink in your hand you were pulling Yoon Na away from the dance floor until your back hit a taller person. You turned around to apologize only to find the handsome man you saw at the Men's room. You both chuckled when your eyes met.
"I guess we should stop meeting this way. If you are interested in me you need better"
He softly spoke. You felt the smile was still on your lips.
"Better than such a lame excuse? I thought I already made the great enterance at the Men's room though. I am Y/N."
Smiling wider the handsome man finally revealed his name.
"Chang Wook... and I hope you are not leaving with your drunk friend."
An unintentional smirk playing on your lips, you shrugged once.
"I mean unless I have a reason."
Chang Wook licked his lips as he took a step towards you.
"What if I offer myself, a good drink and stars at the rooftop?"
You hoped you were not grinning like a fool while you accepted.
"That's more than one reason. I will make sure she goes back safely and come back."
When you turned around you saw Joong Ki watching you with a displeased look on his face. Ignoring him, you pulled Yoon Na by her arm towards the door.
You had no idea Joong Ki followed you until he stopped by your side. Eyes on the ground he walked towards you. Squinting your eyes you averted your gaze from him. Much to your surprise his deep voice filled your ears.
"What are you doing Y/N?"
Arching an eyebrow, you casually answered his oblivious question.
"Helping my friend till her brother arrives here."
A soft chuckle left his pretty lips.
"You know that's not what I mean."
Of course it was not what he meant but you did not owe him an explanation.
"No, I don't."
Taking two steps towards you, he leaned in till there was a mere inch left between your faces.
"That guy, Y/N..."
Yoon Na stumbled so you shifted a bit to be able to support her better. Then answered Joong Ki.
"Perhaps, are you jealous?"
His tongue poked his cheek as his expression darkened. Besides he could not even answer. He looked way too confident when he directed his gaze back to you with a small smirk.
"That's what you want, isn't it? Pity... But it would work if I caught you more intimately."
He pushed countless buttons since he came over but the last sentence blew it off. Your long chuckle surprised him for a second.
"I know because that's the quality of women you like."
A loud break of the white car cut your conversation. Yoon Na's brother was finally there to pick her up. He greeted you with a gentle smile. Almost running through your side he carried his knocked off sister to the car. Then offered to drop you off as well. You shook your head.
"Thanks but my friend is waiting inside. I will go back by myself."
He probably knew about the situation of you and Joong Ki so his eyes drifted between you and him as he kept them on you.
"Call me if you need anything."
He might be a couple of years younger then you yet was reliable. With a smile you thanked him before leaving. Since you thought the conversation with Joong Ki was over you turned around to leave. However his deep voice filled your ears again.
"I will go back by myself... Pulling the angel pose, hmm?"
Squinting your eyes you took a step towards him.
"Do you know what? That guy offered to pull the sex card but I refused because I do not care if you get jealous or not. Now stop bothering me and do something about your fiancé. She is coming here."
You made your way to the door. Just as you were passing by her, Gina grabbed your arm and pulled you back with an immense force. Her eyes were in flames.
"Listen Y/N, I know we are friends but you have a history with him so I do not want to see you around Joong Ki. Are we clear?"
You pulled your arm away from her grip.
"We are but maybe you want to check that with Joong Ki since he is the one came over here."
When you took a step to leave you realized the pin of your right shoe was torn. Hissing you just took them off since it was not possible to walk that way. Noticing your struggle Joong Ki cut Gina off. He walked towards his car and opened the trunk. He took a pair of shoes and stopped you. When you saw your own shoes you stared at him questioningly.
"You took these off when we were returning from the festival."
Had no idea why Joong Ki still had them in his car, you took the nude stilettos from him. Joong Ki held his hand out for you while you were wearing but you did not hold it. Instead you put the leopard heels down and wore the nude stilettos on your own. At loss of words you literally ran to the door of the building.
Joong Ki stared behind you then gently picked the leopard printed shoes you left on the ground. By the other side, Gina was fuming with anger.
"Seriously ?! Tell me Joong Ki ... Do you still have feeling for her?"
Well he was not supposed to have feelings for you so Joong Ki denied as he put the nonchalant mask on.
"No... I just needed to get rid of them."
His excuse was good but his deep gaze behind you still on the door told Gina otherwise. Joong Ki lied. He lied more to himself than Gina but she did not buy it.

SHOES LEFT BEHIND
When you walked inside you took a couple of minutes to process what just happened. How could Joong Ki shake you just in a few minutes after all the things happened? Giving yourself light taps on both cheeks, you let out a groan of frustration out. Finally you made your way into the restaurant again.
You had to distract yourself and made a promise to come back so your eyes searched the place to find Chang Wook. He was sitting by the bar and greeted you with a small smile. Going beyond yourself you climbed on the bar and jumped. The bartender tried to stop you but he could not. Directing your gaze back at Chang Wook you squinted your eyes before you revealed your guess.
"Hmm, White Russian?"
Chang Wook clapped once as he gave you thumbs up.
"One of my favorites. And yours is... Long Island?"
Pulling a bottle of vodka to prepare the White Russian you admitted Chang Wook's guess was right. However he jumped in the coolest way and landed right beside you. Chang Wook gently took the bottle from you and grabbed a bottle of tequila.
"Shots?"
Was his simple question. With a smile you grabbed two small glasses. Chang Wook gestured you to follow him. He opened the window by your right and you saw the stairs of the fire exit. They were narrow so you took your shoes off. Hand in hand you climbed to the rooftop.
You took a deep breath with your eyes closed. When you opened them back you took in the night sky decorated with stars. City lights laid below you in the most beautiful way. The sound of the big city was still there yet far away. Peace would be word to describe that moment.
Then your eyes drifted towards Chang Wook. His tall figure beside you felt safe. His bright eyes and soft smile as he gazed down at you were nice. Sitting by the edge you talked and talked. Time passed so fast that you did not realize it was almost three a.m.
"Guess I should leave. It's already late so..."
Hands in pockets Chang Wook nodded.
"I will drop you off."
You did not want to burden him yet using an uber alone was not the safest option so you accepted after a good minute of hesitation. You held onto him to wear your shoes again. Their heels were high so Chang Wook offered you his arm. A giggling mess, you walked out the door. While waiting outside you held onto the jacket he offered when you were at the rooftop.
Within a few minutes a silver car stopped before you. With alcohol taking over your and his system Chang Wook bowed like a true prince before he opened the door for you. The nonsense chat and laughs went on inside the uber as you tried to give your adress properly.
Joong Ki heard your bright voice as you walked side by side with Chang Wook. He turned around to watch you two leave. Leaving the glass of whiskey on the bar he followed you only to regret. You held onto another man with the sweet smile he loved. When he saw you two taking the same car he could not help it.
Joong Ki took his car to follow you. He knew the familiar road as he drove behind your uber. Disappointment boiled in his blood as he saw you two walking in together. Biting his lip he was drowning in thoughts. He never thought you would move on. He never thought someone could touch you the way he did yet there you were with another man at the very same flat you shared memories.
He did not realize he bit his lip almost to the point of bleeding. Then he saw Chang Wook walking out. Thought his drunk eyes were deceiving him, Joong Ki blinked twice. He was certain Chang Wook left. He could not help the crooked smile blooming on his lips. Eyes landed on the leopard printed heels sitting beside him. The decision was made. He grabbed them and was at your doorstep in a heartbeat.
By the corner Chang Wook watched you two before he grabbed his phone to call her. Seeing the number on her screen Gina answered right away.
"Are they together?"
Chang Wook sighed before he replied.
"Yes..."
Gina cursed under her breath.
"I knew it but... Listen you cannot cut things off now."
Squinting his eyes Chang Wook replied since he knew where things were going.
"Do you want me to mess with her even more?"
Grabbing a glass and ice Gina spoke softly as she poured herself a gin-tonic.
"She trusts you but its not enough. Joong Ki still has the memories. You need to step up your game."
For the first time Chang Wook hesitated on the decision to help his friend. He thought you were going to be lame and boring but you were actually sweet and he did not have bad time at all.

MISTAKES AND MAKE UPS
When you heard the low buzz of your door, you thought Chang Wook was back. Grabbing your white robe you made your way to the door. However you saw the person you expected to see the least. Joong Ki stood there with his jacket hanging on his shoulder and your shoes on his other hand. He slowly directed his reddish eyes at you.
Squinting your eyes you took a few seconds to process what was happening. You were drunk yet you knew him being there in the middle of the night was wrong on all levels. Arching an eyebrow, you tried not to slur your words.
"What are you doing here?"
Joong Ki was busy eyeing you up to down. A low groan left his lips.
"You are in my favorite."
You did not realize your robe was open until he said it. Indeed your gown was mostly see through and lace. You knew it always drove him crazy. Pulling at the sides you covered with your crossed arms. Joong Ki used his excuse as he showed the shoes.
"You forgot these."
Rubbing your forehead you slowly took them from him. Time froze as your hands touched. His warmth was familiar and you missed it. Shaking your head you tried to pull your hand but he caught it. Your eyes were locked for a good moment. Your heart was beating fast just as Joong Ki was almost panting a feet away from you. Taking a step back you broke his grip.
"You should leave."
His deep voice filled your ears.
"I know..."
Those simple words were not careless or pure. They were heavy. Yes, he knew he should go back to Gina but how could he resist when his fingertips were burning for your soft skin. His mind was drifting between the right thing to do and what he wanted. However, the way you bit your lip was his undoing.
Joong Ki stepped inside as he closed the distance within your bodies. They almost clashed. His soft lips met yours. The kiss was full of passion and yearning. You put your hand on his chest to stop and god knew you tried to resist. Your fights were in vain since you missed him too.
Joong Ki's face you memorized, your body he could draw a map of were pulled like magnets. His jacket and your robe joined each other on the ground. Joong Ki's steps followed the known path to the bedroom. Unable to break the contact you undid his high quality shirts buttons in a rush. Carrying you up Joong Ki placed you on the bed as his big hands brushed the bottom of your gown up to your hips.
There was noway to stop after that point. Wrapping your arms around his neck you let him take you. The way he moved took you higher and higher. You did everything not to moan but when he got deeper to hit your weak spot you gave in. Eyes closed you allowed him to have you the way you both liked.
Reaching your high, the matress wrinkled within your hand that turned into a fist. You tried to cover your mouth but Joong Ki was quicker to hold your hand. His lips right above your ear whispered as he kept drilling you from back.
"No sweetie. I love those little cries."
You shook your head but that was a mistake only for him to flip you over. He pushed your legs back and slide inside of you in no time. He held both your hands as he moved rougher and faster. You finally cried out his name as you both let go.
You had no idea how you fell asleep nor he was still there until you opened your eyes to the bright light of the sun. Joong Ki's arms were still wrapped around you. You smiled as you played with his hands yet it faded away when it all hit you.
He was not yours anymore. He belonged to Gina and he cheated on her with you. No, you would not put yourself in this position. Were you going to be the other woman when he left you for her? The lust was erased but regret remained.
You made your way to the bathroom to pull yourself together. When you walked out Joong Ki was sitting naked by the side of the bed since he just woke up. Grabbing his clothes you threw them at him.
"Leave !"
Was the only word you could say with the strength you tried to hold against him. Joong Ki rubbed his face and arched an eyebrow.
"Good morning to you too sweetie."
Annoyed you rolled your eyes.
"I am not your sweetie anymore."
The crooked smile that shook your heart everytime bloomed on his lips.
"Well, you forgot about that with me burried in you, huh?"
Gritting your teeth, you tried to find a reasonable answer but there was none and you were confused. Joong Ki seemed to understand. He slowly got up and made his way towards you.
"You are still my sweetie and I am still the man you love."
He spoke in the softest way. This was no good so you stopped him before his hand reached you.
"No ! You are the man left me behind. You came back out of habbit."
Joong Ki's eyes were deep when they held your gaze.
"Y/N I... I guess I could not see it before but I still love you."
Biting your lip you almost hissed at Joong Ki.
"You were gone for more than two months and now you suddenly remember your feelings for me? Right after Chang Wook appeared?"
Joong Ki's tongue poked his cheek as he directed his finger at the door.
"That guy will break your heart worse than I did. Why cannot you see it?"
Crossing your arms, you held your head high.
"All I see is your jealousy. Remember Joong Ki, you were the one set me free. You never thought I would fly away but now you finally realized you lost me."
Shaking his head Joong Ki put his pants on.
"Fine... but I will be here through your tears Y/N. You are still a piece of me."
You were shaking after he walked out of the door. Those words were not thrown to hurt or deceive you. He was honest and it shook you more than it should.

MY WINGS
When Chang Wook called you were still a mess. Taking a deep breath you tried to sound calm and collected. After a little chat Chang Wook offered to take you to a casual date by the river. You took a good minute to think. Heart still aching for Joong Ki you knew you got to force yourself to move on.
Accepting his offer, you started to get ready. Picking boyfriend jeans and a crop top you put your hair into a ponytail. Chang Wook looked handsome in his v-neck t-shirt which defined his chest.
You walked through the sunset while drinking the view and chatting. You bought rice cakes and shared them. On your way back you invited him in for a cup of coffee.
A few days passed sweetely with Chang Wook. He was preparing the fruit cocktail and his phone was by your side on the counter. His phone rang and much to your surprise you saw the familiar number of Gina. In utter shock Chang Wook tried to grab it but he was too late. You already had it in your hand. You accepted the call and Gina's high voice filled the air.
"Why do not you answer my calls? I told you it was time to take her down. Hit it and quit it tonight."
You wanted to shout at him, you wanted to slap Chang Wook in the face but you did not. You ended the call and threw his phone at Chang Wook's face.
"Get the hell out of here."
Chang Wook tried to take a step towards you but you stopped him.
"I am sorry. I... Gina threw me into this mess but my feelings were you turned out real Y/N. Please can you give..."
Your eyes were in flames. You thought you were finally healing after Joong Ki. You thoughts things were going to be better only for it all to be ruined again.
"Give you another chance? No Chang Wook. NO ! "
His eyes indicated those words were true but you could not bring yourself to care. Even if his feelings became real he played with you like a fool. You could not go through everything again. The ache in your heart was getting worse.
After he left you cried for three hours. Dragging your tired body to the bathroom you washed your face. Your reflection in the mirror seemed pathetic. Decided not to pity yourself, you checked the planes. You did not care where or how long it would be. You just wanted to get away with the first flight.
Packing a few necessary stuff quickly, you were about to leave. When you opened the door you saw Joong Ki right there. You had no idea how he knew or why was he there. You could not move or say anything. His deep yet soft voice broke the heavy silence. His hand reached to pul the string of hair away from your cheek and tug it behind your ear.
"I told you I would be here through your tears."
Those words were not mocking or deceiving. He was there for you and you somehow could sense it. Your tight grip on your bag loosened and it fell on the ground.

___
Spring Break was imminent for the kids of Guang University. It was your freshman year and your friends all had different plans. You planned to stay home and get a head start on your homework and catch up on all of your favorite Korean dramas.
You headed out of the school with Haechan, your best friend. He had plans to go visit his family in South Korea for a couple of days. You were bummed that your closest friend wouldn’t be in town for the break.
“You sure you don’t want to come to Seoul with me? We might bump into Ji Chang Wook. You never know.” Ji Chang Wook was your celebrity crush.
You balanced your giant biology textbook while you tried to find your phone. “That’s tempting but I have a big exam right after break and I’ve been behind for weeks...So now I have to cram.”
Haechan sighed. “Y/n, you need to give yourself some down time.”
You frowned. “What are you talking about?”
Haechan sighed. “You haven’t come out to any parties in the past two months.”
You sighed. “Well...”
Haechan whined. “You’re supposed to be my party buddy...”
“Well, party buddy, then explain Daniela, Hazel, and Ally,” you said, calling out your best friend for not being so lonely at these parties after all.
“I-“ Haechan started.
Before Haechan could explain, a group of girls you’d tried so hard to avoid walked by and “accidentally” bumped into you, making you drop your book to the ground.
The girl who bumped into you turned and laughed. “I’m SO sorry. Maybe if you didn’t take up so much space, it wouldn’t have happened.”
The other girls laughed as they began to saunter off.
You groaned. You thought bullies retired once they graduated from high school when reality finally gave them a slap to the face.
Well, unfortunately for you, the mean girls from your old high school were smart enough to get into your dream school so you now occasionally saw them. And worse, shared a biology lab with them. The head of the pack, Heather, always had it out for you for always beating her for the best grade in class. You’d get a 94 and she’d get a 93. You were just happy to get an A and she was furious she wasn’t number 1. You guessed it had to do with her superiority complex and how she had to please her wealthy parents.
Haechan yelled, “Heather, what the hell-“
Heather started, “What? It’s a simple observation.”
Well, not everyone could be a size 0 like Heather. You knew that you had a healthy body shape. Sure, you know you could use improvements but you were human. No one was perfect. Nothing Heather could say could make you think she was right. She was just a hater.
“Have a nice break, Heather. Maybe your dad will finally come home,” you said as you grabbed Haechan’s hand and walked off.
“Hey! y/n, get back here!” Heather demanded. Her dad and her mom were separated for a while now and he was never home to spend time with his precious daughter.
Heather’s bark had always been bigger than her bite. So you didn’t let her words get to you. Not anymore.
___
Haechan went home while you waited to call an Uber to take you to the record store across town.  You may as well go out and do one fun thing before you hunkered down at home for the break.
That was when you heard someone sobbing hard. And you couldn’t help but find the source.
The boy sat down on a bench by the bus stop. It was the campus heartthrob, Na Jaemin. You’d shared a couple of lectures with him this year. He was very sweet, always had something to compliment you on. Your hair, your lipstick, your outfit.
Well, then he would proceed to ask for help with assignments but you appreciated getting paid with flattery.
You frowned. “A-are you okay?” You started. “Do you need help?”
Jaemin looked up as tears ran down his beautifully sculpted face. His eyes widened at the sight of you. He wiped his tears away with his jacket sleeve. He shook his head. “Y/n! Hey, I’m…okay…I just-“
You sat down beside him and pulled an unopened bottle of water out of your backpack. You handed it to him. “Here.”
He looked down at it and asked, “Are you sure?”
You nodded. “Go ahead.”
“Thank you,” he said, managing a half-smile.
He drank from it as you waited.
He exhaled in satisfaction. “Thank you, y/n. I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to scare you like this. School and work have been so stressful…I just needed to let it all out.”
You hesitated before you put a hand on his back. You moved it gently against his muscular upper back. “I’m sorry…Do you…wanna talk about it?”
Jaemin froze and debated telling you. “I got fired from my job…” He admitted.
You removed your hand from his back. “Jaemin, that’s terrible…I’m so sorry…What happened?”
He shook his head. “The boss was kinda harsh. I couldn’t take it. I slipped up once and I got the ax.”
You tried to meet his eyes. “I’m so sorry, Jaemin.”
Jaemin managed a smile for you. “Thank you, y/n. You’re always sweet. Always good. I’m glad you’re here with me.” He placed a hand over yours.
This may or may not have made you want to scream with excitement. But your better judgment told you to contain yourself because Jaemin was upset.
Your little moment was interrupted by Heather and her cohorts.
Heather stood in front of Jaemin, noticing his red eyes “Oh, Nana, what’s wrong?”
Jaemin didn’t look all that thrilled to see Heather either. “It’s nothing…Don’t worry about it.”
“Because if y/n is bothering you, she should leave. Isn’t that right, y/n?” Heather turned to you with her hands on her hips.
You were about to snap when Jaemin beat you to it. “Actually, Heather, she’s not. So what can I do for you so you can leave faster?”
Heather looked at her group in shock. Her minions all let out audible gasps and whispers. “Jaemin...”
“I’m waiting,” Jaemin said, a new commanding tone overtaking him.
“We wanted to know if you’re coming to my cabin this weekend.” She tried to come off flirtatious but after his rebuff, she was confused.
“Maybe,” Jaemin replied, “If y/n comes.”
“What?” You and Heather exclaimed.
“I’ll go if y/n goes,” Jaemin said resolutely.
You started, “Jaemin, I-”
Jaemin interrupted. “I need this, y/n. A time to get away. And if you come, I would love it…” He said softly, almost intimately…Like no one else was around.
You’d had a crush on Jaemin since the first day of Intro to Theater. Jaemin was a tremendous actor. He was an excellent Demetrius to your Helena in your act for A Midsummer Night’s Dream.
Jaemin was always so nice. You thought the most he would do for you is give you a dollar for the vending machine. And that would’ve made your heart soar to the moon.
It was odd that you were considering going somewhere to hang out with Heather and her friends...But you did want to get to know Jaemin more.
What about your homework?
Well, it could wait.
And what about Heather?
Well, pissing off Heather was a hobby of yours.
One of Heather’s friends coughed. And Heather rolled her eyes. “Fine. Meet at my house at 7 AM tomorrow.”
___
Your older sister Sophie drove you to Heather’s. “Why are you going to Lucifer's spawn’s cabin?”
You sighed. “Because a cute boy asked me to.”
Sophie put the car in park right in front of Heather’s mansion. She looked at you in disbelief and fascination. “A boy?”
You said, “He wanted me to come.”
Sophie laughed. “Well, y/n, he must be very cute if you’re willing to hang out with Her Royal Darkness.”
“Like her ego, I’m sure the cabin is big enough so I don’t have to see her.”
You were both so distracted that you didn’t notice Jaemin knock on your passenger side window. He smiled brightly. Wow, he looked incredible for someone who woke up and texted you good morning at 5:30 AM.
“Wow,” your sister said, in shock from Jaemin’s beauty. She rolled down your window.
“Ready to go, y/n?” Jaemin asked. You saw the expectant look in his eyes. He was radiant and much more relaxed. You were so happy to see him. He seemed to feel a lot better.
“Jaemin, this is my older sister, Sophie,” you said, “Sophie, this is my friend Jaemin.”
They shook hands and Sophie muttered, “You better tell me everything when you get back. And that I am the maid of honor at your wedding.”
“Bye, Sophie! We’ll go on our run together when I come back on Sunday, okay?” You said louder to deflect from what Jaemin could’ve overheard. You and Sophie ran together every weekend for stress relief and bonding time. You got out of the car and hoped Jaemin hadn’t heard anything.
Jaemin offered to give you a ride on his Jeep Explorer to Heather’s cabin, much to Heather’s disappointment. Heather’s friends were riding with her.
You and Jaemin had fun on the road for two hours, just the two of you. You enjoyed some old school Backstreet Boys, *NSYNC, and Britney Spears. You snagged the CDs from your sister’s collection.
“Every little thing I do never seems enough for you!” You and Jaemin sang.
You too had gotten off the route to get snacks at a convenience store and because Jaemin needed to fill up his tank. He insisted you put your wallet away. He bought all of your favorite junk food essentials: M&Ms, Flamin’ Hot Cheetos, Coke, Orange Fanta. This boy knew his way into your heart.
“So, y/n, what’s your end goal in life?” He asked as he continued the route to Heather’s cabin. “You strike me as an aspiring pediatrician...Saving the children!”
You laughed at his enthusiasm. “I’d like to be a physical therapist. My parents got into a car accident when I was nine...My mom was fine but my dad broke his right leg and right arm. He needed to get physical therapy in order to walk properly again...I went with him to almost all of his appointments. I have a lot of respect for physical therapists after how much they helped him…”
“I’m glad your dad recovered,” Jaemin said as he gave you a quick smile before gluing his eyes back onto the road.
“Me, too...But...my end goal in life? Honestly, I just want my own space to dance around in...With no shame.”
Jaemin chuckled. “No shame, huh? Does that mean you’re a terrible dancer?”
You smacked him. “No. Well, I’m sure there are worse dancers.”
He laughed harder. “Okay...I believe you.”
You laughed. “What about you, Jaemin? What’s your end goal?”
He sighed. “Start up my own content-creating company...I’m into traveling and uncovering hidden gems. Be the next big thing after Buzzfeed Unsolved.”
“Those are some pretty big shoes to fill…” You started.
Jaemin sounded unsure. “Yeah…”
You smiled, “I know you can do it. You’ve got a subscriber in me.”
Jaemin faked a tear. “You have no idea how much that means to me.”
You both laughed again as you reached for the M&Ms and your hands touched. You quickly pulled away, embarrassed. But Jaemin smiled to himself.
Jaemin said, “But as cheesy as it sounds...I want to get married, get a big house, and fill it with twelve children.”
You coughed. “Twelve? Are you and your future wife thinking of splitting the pregnancies up?”
Jaemin laughed. “Okay, maybe not twelve...But a family of my own is my dream. My parents split up when I was five so...I’ve split my time between two homes and it was an awkward feeling, especially after both of my parents remarried.”
“Oh…” You said. You couldn’t exactly sympathize with him because your parents were happily married so you didn’t want to say anything that could rub him the wrong way. That was the last thing you wanted.
“I want to be with that one person...For the rest of my life...When I meet her, I’ll know.” He said, giving you a meaningful look.
You had no idea how to process that so you took a sip of your blue raspberry ICEE and held it in the air, awkwardly. “Here’s to you finding your soulmate someday.”
He chuckled. “Thank you.”
___
You arrived at Heather’s summer home...Well, she called it a cabin. But it was actually a mansion by the beach. It was gorgeous. Something straight out of a movie. It looked like it could be its own hotel resort. You realized that there was a good chance you’d have your own room.
“This house is huge!” You exclaimed.
Jaemin looked along with you as he handed you your bag. “What a shame. I was hoping we would room together.” He said softly into your ear.
You turned to him in shock and he shot you his infamous flirty grin. This boy had you thinking he liked you and he’d better stop before you tried to kiss him.
Heather handed everyone keys to their bedrooms. “If any of you lose this copy, I can’t help you.” She made sure to say that as she handed you your keys.
You went up the stairs of the beach house and chose the last room on the left. You were unlocking the door to your room when someone from behind you tapped you on the shoulder.
“Hey, you’re y/n, right?” You recognized Yangyang from your mandatory PE class. You both took Intermediate Swimming, a class where as long as you flailed in the water and passed the easy quizzes, you’d be guaranteed an A.
You nodded. “And you’re…”
He said, “I’m Yangyang. It’s so nice to see you here!”
“You, too,” you said, averting your eyes once again. Yangyang was pretty attractive and you hoped he didn’t remember you and your Sailor Moon one piece. You always tried to be one of the first in the water and the last to leave when it came to your swimming class.
Even though Heather’s comments were nothing to you, it didn’t mean you were completely immune to the hurt it caused.
“You were in Coach Emerson’s swim class, right? You had the iconic Sailor Moon swimsuit.”
And there went the rest of your hopes and dreams. “Y-yeah…”
He laughed. “Don’t be embarrassed. I had Dragon Ball Z swim trunks.”
“Really?” You said.
Yangyang pretended to be hurt and winced. “I thought you’d be the one to notice.”
“Well...I’m not exactly looking at anyone’s...body…” You said, cringing at your words.
He laughed. “Fair point. I just liked the pattern. Your favorite character is Sailor Mars, right?”
You nodded, “Hell yeah. She’s the best.”
“I’m more of a Sailor Venus guy, myself,” he replied.
“Good taste. But all of the Sailor Scouts are queens,” you started.
“No question,” Yangyang said. “Hey, do you-” His phone started to ring. “Sorry, y/n...I gotta take this.”
You waved goodbye to him and entered your spacious bedroom. As much as Heather despised you and you despised her, her family had excellent taste in real estate. The queen-sized bed was plush like a cloud straight from heaven. You pulled the window up to feel the ocean breeze. It was paradise.
You heard a knock at your door an hour later. It was Jaemin.
“Wanna go for a walk?” He asked.
“Sure!” You said, having already changed into a sundress.
Jaemin thought you looked stunning. Well, you always did. He was so happy to be here with you. Otherwise, he may not have gone on this trip.
Jaemin led you to the beach where you let your toes touch the water. He teased you by splashing you. And you splashed him back until you both were soaked.
You both laughed so hard that you toppled over each other, you on top of Jaemin. You both stared at each other for a long time. Jaemin closed his eyes, his long eyelashes caressing his cheeks. He waited for you to kiss him.
You moved closer and your lips met his. His lips tasted salty thanks to you and your merciless splashing. But the kiss was everything. It was fireworks at the end of a perfect night. It was hot chocolate on a warm winter night. It was like an angel held you and you snuggled against his wings. The kiss was perfect.
You two let go and Jaemin bit his lip. “So.”
You stood there, frozen. “So…”
“So...we did that.”
You nodded. “Indeed we did.”
“Thoughts?” He looked at you with his big brown eyes.
You cleared your throat. “Well...I certainly wouldn’t mind doing that again.”
Jaemin’s big gorgeous goofy smile came back full force at hearing you. He cupped your face in his hands and was about to kiss you again.
“Guys!” Naeun called out to you. “Have you seen Yangyang?”
You and Jaemin pulled yourselves apart. You answered, “Last time I saw him was when he went to his room. Is everything okay?”
“He wasn’t answering his phone...And I found it in his room.” She held up his phone that had a Dragon Ball Z pop socket on the back of it.
You frowned. “That’s weird.”
Jaemin offered. “Maybe he went for a walk. Got some fresh air?”
“Maybe…” Naeun thought and you nodded. “If you see him, tell him I’m looking for him and that I’m pissed.”
“Okay,” you said.
Naeun stomped away, frustrated.
“Now where were-” you started.
Jaemin already pulled you in for another kiss. He pinned you down against the shoreline and trailed your neck with his kisses.
You breathed heavily as you held him tightly.
He looked at you, as if asking you something.
You gave him a look. “What’s up?”
“Do you want to…” His eyes moved down to his pelvic region where his member was protruding through the fabric of his trunks.
Your eyes widened at how big he was. And your eyes nearly popped out of your head when you realized what he was asking. “Oh…”
Jaemin waited for you patiently.
Things were moving too fast. You were more than happy to kiss Jaemin all night but you really weren’t ready to have sex. Not tonight, anyway.
You already knew the answer. “I’m sorry Jaemin. I do like you but...I’m...not ready. I should go…” You got up but Jaemin stopped you. It was like a romantic Korean drama scene, except instead of your wrist ...He grabbed your ankle.
“It’s okay...You don’t have to go. Please don’t go…” He begged as he made a puppy dog pout.
You laughed, relieved. “Okay okay...You can stop making that face.”
Jaemin pouted his lips even more. “What face?”
You rolled your eyes and splashed him. You and Jaemin spent a couple of hours on the beach, kissing and talking. You wrapped up and he walked you to your bedroom.
___
You woke up early the next morning to hear screaming and crying. You got out of bed and ran out the door.
“What’s wrong?” You asked, finding Naeun devastated on the floor. Heather sat down with her on the ground and consoled her.
“Yangyang…” She said between sobs. “He’s gone!”
Renjun looked grave as he handed you his phone. “We all got these messages. Did you, y/n?”
You looked at what was on Renjun’s phone screen and there was a video of Yangyang, bound up and gagged. Tears streamed down his eyes. He mumbled loudly for help.
Tears fell out of your eyes. “What the hell is this?”
You couldn’t believe it. You’d just had a whole conversation with him yesterday. He was friendly and funny…
And now he was like this.
Jaemin replied, “Someone’s idea of a sick joke...I don’t recommend looking at the rest of the story, y/n…”
You ignored him and kept watching. The next video pointed to a wall and you could hear Yangyang clearly now...He was yelling. “No! Who are you? Why are you doing this? Stop! Nooooooo!” The video cut off after that. The last picture was of Yangyang with his throat slit with text that read: “Wonder who will be next...It’s anyone’s guess, really. 🧐 #springbreak2020”
You ran into the bathroom and threw up. The rest of the group followed you into the bathroom. “Well, y/n?” Tzuyu started.
“Well, what?” You asked.
“Show us your phone,” Tzuyu demanded.
“Why?” You asked.
Jaemin intervened, “Why are you guys ganging up on her?”
“We’ve checked everyone’s phones...Now we want to see y/n’s,” Tzuyu said, a vindictive look in her eyes.
“Fine,” you said. You pulled it out of your pocket and you were shocked to find the messages on your phone.
“Someone sent them to her, too. She’s as innocent as the rest of us,” Renjun said.
Tzuyu frowned. “Okay…”
She seemed disappointed that you weren’t the culprit. You wondered why Tzuyu hated you. She was merely one of Heather’s followers so you guessed she would hate anyone Heather hated no matter what.
Still, this didn’t alleviate any of your worries. Someone kidnapped and murdered Yangyang overnight. And whoever that was remained close by.
And they weren’t finished.
Unfortunately for all of you, your cell reception was weak so you couldn’t contact the police. You were on the verge of a panic attack.
Renjun decided, “We should try going to the next town to get reception.”
Tzuyu started, “You are not leaving me here.”
“Fine, we’ll go together.” He said as they both walked off and borrowed Heather’s car.
___
You sat in the living room, scared to be in your room all alone. Hell, you didn’t mind being with Heather and Naeun. Jaemin was making lunch in the kitchen for you guys.
It had been a few hours since Renjun and Tzuyu left. Now you were all getting worried. The next town wasn’t that far off, according to Heather. So something was up.
And you wondered if it had been a good idea for them to leave. Maybe they had been just as much in danger as the rest of you. Whoever the killer was...He had resources to be anywhere at any time. It gave you shivers.
“Y/n, can you get Naeun a glass of water?” Heather asked you.
You nodded and met Jaemin in the kitchen. You asked him once again, “Are you sure I can’t help with anything?”
Jaemin shook his head. “I’ve got this.” He said as he finished making lasagna.
You got a glass of water for Naeun. “Jaemin, I’m scared,” you said.
Jaemin looked rattled up, too, but he seemed to be holding it together for the rest of you. And it meant a lot to you.
The four of you sat down to eat quietly. Naeun barely took a bite of her lasagna.
Not too long after, she started wheezing. Hives broke out onto her skin. “Epi...Pen...Heather.”
Heather jumped out of her seat. “I’ll go get it!”
“Oh God,” you panicked. “You need air! Let’s go outside, Naeun.”
You and Jaemin helped her out to the front door so she can breathe better. You were praying Heather found her EpiPen soon.
Heather returned, upset, “Are you sure it’s in your purse? I couldn’t find it.”
Naeun nodded. “Yes…”
When you realized Naeun’s EpiPen was missing, you ran up to your room and grabbed yours. “I brought mine!”
“Hurry up!” Heather said.
You ran back down and Naeun was able to get the injection she needed to recover from her reaction.
Heather took Naeun up to her room to recover.
“I wonder what Naeun was allergic to…” You said to Jaemin.
Jaemin frowned. “I don’t know...I had no idea she had severe allergies. Maybe it was in one of the ingredients but I’m not sure which one…God, I feel terrible.” He put his face in his hands.
“Hey, it’s okay...It was an accident...She’ll be okay,” you said as you hugged him.
“It was a good thing you had your EpiPen, y/n...You’re amazing…”
“Or I just have severe allergies, too,” you said.
He laughed awkwardly. “Right…”
Even more hours passed. Renjun and Tzuyu haven’t returned. Everyone was antsy.
You and Jaemin were going to go out and look for them but you were shocked to find his tires had been slit recently.
This wasn’t a coincidence. The killer was watching your every move. You wondered if he had gotten to Renjun and Tzuyu. Your throat dried up at just thinking that.
You and Heather grabbed weapons from her father’s shed, which included gardening shears and hunting rifles.
Heather taught you how to handle the rifle. You both went back into the house with your weapons in tow. You all made sure to shut all of the windows and close all of the doors. You scoured the entire property. No one can come in. And no could come out. You hoped there wasn’t some random secret entrance to this house that rich people always seemed to have in the movies. You all reluctantly headed to bed.
You sat up on the edge of your bed. You were comfortable in a concert tee and some shorts. You wanted to wear something that would be easy to run in. Just in case the killer would come for you next.
Jaemin was at your door. “Hey…Heather and Naeun both fell asleep.”
“How can they be asleep...I can’t sleep knowing that that bastard is out there…” You said.
Jaemin walked into the room. “Can I sit with you?”
You nodded. “Jaemin, what are we going to do...We can’t just stay here. We're sitting ducks. Renjun and Tzuyu are just gone...And we don’t know when or even if they're coming back…”
Jaemin rubbed your back in small circles. His touch was distracting. Kissing Jaemin would be a great distraction.
Making love to him would be even better.
That would be ridiculous. The last thing you wanted to do was have sex when a murderer was afoot. That would be a total cliche.
Jaemin replied. “I’m sorry, y/n...I think our best bet is to wait it out until morning and go to the next town on foot.”
You nodded. “Yeah...Maybe daytime will be safer.”
Jaemin nodded. “Why don’t you go to sleep and I’ll take the first shift?”
“Really?” You asked.
“Yeah, I’m wired. I had three cups of coffee in the past hour. You need to rest, y/n.” Jaemin said as he pulled the covers over you. “I’ll come back to wake you. I’ll be on guard.” He grabbed one of the hunting rifles he left outside the door.
“Thank you,” you said as you shut your eyes. Sleep quickly took over.
___
You were quickly shaken awake. “Y/n get the fuck up!” Heather hissed.
“Heather?” You exclaimed.
She shushed you. “Shut up. You need to come with me right now.”
“What’s wrong?” You whispered.
Heather made sure your door was locked before she returned back to you. “Naeun is dead.”
You looked carefully at Heather and had seen that she’d been crying. “What?” You asked. “That’s impossible.”
“We shouldn’t have left her alone. She said she was fine. She seemed fine. I went to check on her and...she wasn’t breathing. And...I think she was smothered, y/n.”
“Wait...Are you saying…”
“The killer is Jaemin,” Heather said.
“What? Why would you say that?” You shook your head.
“Think about it, y/n. None of us has good reception here so how is that we got those texts about Yangyang? The killer had to be in close proximity to us. Tzuyu and Renjun left in my car, which he probably messed with so they got into an accident...And...I don’t even want to say what could’ve happened...Whatever Jaemin put in the lasagna almost killed Naeun. Then, her EpiPen fucking disappeared. And then, conveniently right after, his tires were slit. And now, since he couldn’t finish the job the first time, he smothered Naeun to death.”
“Heather...Jaemin wouldn’t…” You started.
“I know...I had my doubts, too, but...he gave me some calming tea before I went to sleep...When it cooled down, I tested it...It’s been drugged.”
Your heart sank. “How do you know?”
“My dad’s company is working with the nail polish that can track date rape drugs. My painted nail changed color when I tested it out. Jaemin tried to drug me, y/n…” She showed you her neon green polish and the one fingernail that turned black.
You covered your hand over your mouth.
“I had a feeling he would come check up on me so I tossed some of the tea down the drain and pretended I was asleep. He came back to check that I was asleep, y/n...That’s just creepy. Why the hell would he need to drug me?”
Not knowing how to answer, you started, “Heather...Maybe…”
Jaemin surprised you both by breaking the wood of the door down with an ax. He made a big enough hole to unlock the door from the inside.
You and Heather yelled. Jaemin heard everything.
Jaemin started. “Heather, why are you up? I thought I was going to take care of you tomorrow in my grand finale…”
“Shit,” Heather said as she got closer to you.
“Jaemin? What grand finale?” You demanded. “What is going on?”
Jaemin smiled wide at you. “Sweetheart, I thought I told you to sleep.”
The look in Jaemin’s eyes became cold...Calculating.
“y/n...It’s no accident that I asked for you to come on this trip…” Jaemin said as he pulled a knife out of his pocket and twirled it around his hand. “I thought you’d partake in the festivities…”
“What festivities?” Heather demanded. “Why the fuck did you try to drug me? Why did you kill Naeun? What the hell did she do to you?”
Jaemin tsked as he met Heather’s eyes. “Why wouldn’t I kill Naeun? Why wouldn’t I kill them all? Think about it, you ungrateful little brat.”
You found yourself moving closer to Heather then for she was your only living ally. Albeit the biggest bitch in the land.
Jaemin killed everyone.
Jaemin was the killer.
Heather shook her head. “Jaemin, stay the fuck away from us. I swear to God. Or I’ll-”
Jaemin chuckled. “You’ll what? Call Daddy? Call Mommy? They’re both abroad, never giving a second thought about their spoiled daughter...Those two think you couldn’t be safer and more comfortable…It’s ridiculous...A girl who has everything...Takes it upon herself to put others down...You’ve put y/n down for years...You’ve never let go your childish and petty hatred for her...And for what reason?”
Heather’s resolve faded when she realized what you had.
“Jaemin…” You started.
“Y/n, did you not realize that each person on this trip has fucked with you one way or another?” He asked.
Well, the girls were bitches, yes, but…
“Naeun was the one who spread that rumor about you getting your breast implants...Tzuyu was the one who nearly ran you over in the student parking lot...Renjun body shamed you in the boys’ locker room...And Yangyang told us all that he wanted to take your virginity this weekend…”
“Jaemin!” Heather exclaimed.
“You should’ve been careful with who you added in your group chat full of morons, Heather....Ah, and Heather, dear...you’re the ringleader in all of this...You goaded Naeun and Tzuyu to do these things to y/n. You’ve set out to put y/n down for a long time now. You even went along with Renjun and Yangyang’s comments about y/n’s body...Fuck you, by the way, she’s perfect in every way...And I should’ve made them all go through slower...more painful deaths for all of the things you said about her...”
You couldn’t believe what you were hearing. You had no idea that even boys were targeting you...First off, you literally just breathed. The girls were childish and petty but…
“Jaemin,” you said.
“Yes, sweetheart?” Jaemin asked with a kinder smile to you.
“What they all did to me was wrong...But you didn’t have to…”
Jaemin’s eyes widened. “Kill them? Well, it wasn’t up to you...All of these people are worthless scum that won’t amount to much, honestly….So was it really a waste?”
Heather surprised you by pulling a handgun out of her pocket. She shot Jaemin in the chest. “y/n, let’s go!” She pulled you out of the bed and you both ran for your lives.
“Agh!” Jaemin groaned as he fell to the ground.
You both ran down the stairs. Heather unlocked the front door, knowing the house was no longer safe.
You both ran down the steps of the entrance. You had to pull Heather with you because she ran too slow for you. Then, you heard a gunshot.” Heather fell down. She’d been shot in the foot. “Fuck!” She yelled.
You turned to see Jaemin at the entrance with a hunting rifle. “Bulletproof vest, baby!”
You yelled as you tried to help Heather up.
Jaemin asked, genuinely confused. “Y/n, why are you running? This has nothing to do with you.”
You gaped. “Are you kidding me? Apparently, this has everything to do with me…Jaemin put the gun down! Please stop!”
Jaemin shook his head. “Out of the question, sweetheart. You’d be smart to leave Heather to me.”
Heather began to cry. “No…”
You wrapped Heather’s arm around you and both walked off. Heather winced with pain but she could manage as you kept running. Jaemin was getting closer and closer. He waited, then.
You and Heather were confused. Why did he stop running?
You and Heather both walked over a bear traps you both hadn’t seen.
You yelped in pain and Heather cried out, “Son of a bitch!”
It hurt for both of you to move an inch. You both cried.
Jaemin made his way over, using a flashlight. He sighed. “Y/n, you should’ve stopped running. Now you’ve your beautiful ankle...Well, it’s no big deal...I can disinfect it and patch it up nicely for you...After I’m done with Heather.”
“Jaemin, no, please stop. You don’t have to do this. I don’t want you to do this. That’s enough!” You pleaded.
At the sound of your last two words, Jaemin froze. The words brought him back to when he was a kid and he would pummel other children for bullying his younger siblings. His parents would beg him to stop. It was too bad that their words didn’t stick. And your words were no different.
Jaemin sighed. “I’m sorry, y/n…” He whacked the back of his gun over your head so you blacked out.
___
Heather had also been knocked out. She awoke to being tied up and sitting in the hot tub beside the Olympic sized swimming pool in the backyard. She noted that bricks were tied around her ankles. As she tried to pull herself up, it was impossible for her to get out.
Jaemin smiled wickedly as he wielded the thermostat. “You’ve always prided yourself on being the hottest girl at our college...Why don’t we put that to the test?”
“Jaemin, please stop! I am so sorry!” She cried. “Please don’t do this! I messed up! I...I’ve always been jealous of y/n! Because she was the one who had everything. The perfect family. The perfect grades. The perfect body. Everything about her is so damn effortless that I hated it.” She hoped that pouring her soul out to him might make him change his mind.
“Oh, boohoo…” Jaemin said as he increased the heat.
Heather grew uncomfortable. “Jaemin...Stop...Please...It’s too hot…”
Jaemin sighed. “Goodbye Heather…”
___
You slowly woke up seated on the passenger side of Jaemin’s Jeep. Your eyes quickly opened when you realized that. You jerked awake and found Jaemin in the driver’s seat, calm and composed. “I think we’re alone now...”
You backed up against your window. “Jaemin! Where is Heather?”
“Oh, she’s tied up at the moment...In the hot tub...She is indeed the hottest girl from our college now…” Jaemin said, a chuckle escaping his lips at his pun.
You were about to be sick. You pulled the window and vomited. You tried moving by the gash from the bear trap made you wince and groan in pain.
“Oh, y/n...I didn’t mean for you to get hurt...You couldn’t help it, though. Wanting to help that brat till the end...Because you see the good in people...You are simply too pure.”
“Jaemin...Where are we going?”
“To the next town...Where we will report a murderer that broke into Heather’s summer home…”
You looked at him in disbelief. Surely, he wouldn't turn himself in.
“The murderer is at large and we narrowly escaped, y/n...I got you out of the bear trap and we were able to get away in my car…”
You shook your head. “Jaemin, no...They’ll never believe you...”
Jaemin shocked you by breaking down the same way he had the day before you left for the trip. “Officers, please h-help us. Our friends are gone!”
You looked at him in disbelief. Did he fake crying before?
Well, you did think he was a tremendous actor. You just didn’t know how right you were.
“Jaemin, this is wrong…” You started.
He sighed. “Y/n...you worry too much...Now your life will be brighter...It’ll be perfect now. Perfect for the perfect girl…”
You contemplated how the hell you could get away from Jaemin. Your options were limited as he’d taken your phone. You couldn’t exactly run that far but you could find a way to slow him down. You noticed Heather’s car off the side of the road. It’d rammed into a tree. Jaemin must have tampered with Heather’s car, you realized. He did admit to having a hand in their disappearance, after all.
You thought fast and with all of your strength you moved over to Jaemin’s side and turned the wheel so the car collided into the trees.
The impact was intense but you’d dodged most of the impact. Jaemin laid next to you, unconscious and bleeding.
You limped out of the car and checked Heather’s car. As you feared, Renjun and Tzuyu died from the impact. It was a gruesome sight. They dealt with blunt trauma. Their heads were draining blood. You nearly puked again.
Before you broke down in tears, you thought fast and remembered Renjun and Tzuyu smoked. You rummaged through the glove compartment for a weapon or a phone...You came up short with Renjun’s lighter. Tzuyu’s phone had some battery left. The reception was low so you had to find a way to get to the next town to get reception.
So now what the hell were you going to do, you weren’t going to light a car up on fire...And burn the evidence that was once Tzuyu and Renjun.
You noticed the gas leak that came from under the car. You got under the hood of Heather’s car and found the gasoline tank leaking. You grabbed an empty Starbucks cup from the front seat and let the gasoline slip in.
___
You ran, not getting very far when Jaemin called out to you. He was able to walk normally and he was quickly catching up to you.
“Y/n! Sweetheart! Where are you going? Without me...” Jaemin called out.
You turned quickly and found he walked over to you with an ax.
“Fuck off, Jaemin!” You said, realizing he was just as capable of killing you.
“Sweetheart, let’s just talk about this...I did this all for you...Because I love you...I want to make you happy. I want to marry you. Have twelve children...Ah, yes, you said twelve may be excessive...How does eleven kids sound?”
You rolled your eyes. He was fucking insane. You decided to provoke him. “What makes you think I would marry a deranged killer?”
Jaemin’s face was unreadable then. You hid the cup of gasoline away in your sweater. Pretending you've injured your arm so Jaemin wouldn’t be the wiser.
“Y/n, please…”
You entertained him by turning around.
“What, Jaemin? How could you possibly convince me that anything you did was okay?”
“If you let me try…” Jaemin started. He got closer to you.
You waited for him to get closer and quickly doused him with the gasoline.
Jaemin coughed as some of the gasoline got in his mouth. “y/n, what are you-”
“Goodbye, Jaemin.” You ignited Renjun’s lighter and tossed it at him.
Jaemin clothes caught on fire. He yelled in agony as you watched him struggle. He threw the axe at you but he missed. You cried as you went back to Jaemin’s car and started up the ignition. Thank goodness, it still worked.
Jaemin immediately removed his clothes to remove himself from most of the flames and patted himself down. He immediately charged at you as you backed the car up from the tree.
You didn’t think twice as you ran him over. Checking the rearview mirror and seeing the job hadn’t been completed, you reversed the car and ran him over again.
You waited ten minutes to see that Jaemin was dead. You got out of the car and kicked his body to check for any movement. You got his heavy, lifeless body into the car with you. You checked his pulse again. He was dead. You checked multiple times because once again, you weren’t about to become a movie cliche.
You made it to the next town and reported Jaemin’s murders and how you killed him in self-defense. You explained your weekend of terror and you were at the station all week for questioning. Your family joined you and consoled you as you told them all you knew.
The police scoured the mansion. They found Yangyang’s body in the pool house, beaten to a bloody pulp. They found Naeun’s body in her bed, like she’d been in perpetual slumber. They found Heather’s body in the hot tub, wrinkled and burnt. They found Heather’s car where Tzuyu and Renjun’s bodies remained.
Jaemin told you the truth. He worked part-time at hardware store. He had been fired that day for snapping at one of the customer’s who was berating his wife. Before Jaemin left, he stole an ax. He really did get the ax, like he’d told you.
It turned out Jaemin tampered with the reception at Heather’s house and because her house was already remote...Jaemin was able to use that to his advantage. He used the last of the reception before he cut it off to send the texts about Yangyang from a burner phone, which was uncovered in his Jeep. Yangyang’s phone was unlocked and the police uncovered his messages that were supposedly from his dealer, who he scheduled to meet with the night he disappeared. It turned out Jaemin hacked into the dealer’s phone to get Yangyang right where he wanted him. Jaemin did indeed tamper with the wires of Heather’s car so Tzuyu and Renjun’s fates were sealed. The leftover lasagna Jaemin had prepared was analyzed and there were traces of crushed peanuts in the lasagna. Naeun had a severe peanut allergy. Naeun’s EpiPen was found with Jaemin’s other belongings. When you’d saved Naeun with your EpiPen, Jaemin took it upon himself to smother Naeun with a pillow in her sleep. Jaemin had planted bear traps around the front lawn, which was how he caught you and Heather. Heather died from heat exhaustion in the hot tub as she was tied up and restrained with bricks tied around her ankles. Jaemin had done all of this with gloved hands so no trace of his DNA could be found at the crime scenes. If it hadn’t been for the evidence he’d hidden in his car, then the case would’ve been more difficult to resolve.
Jaemin’s body was recovered at the crime scene. Thankfully, he was not a movie cliche where he up and left and awaited his next victim. He was dead to the world and most importantly, dead to you.

My 2020 in K dramas (+1 J drama)
I began watching k-dramas in 2018 but I’ve never watched as many shows, Korean or otherwise, as I have in this one. 2020 ¯\_(ツ)_/¯. I think what helps me really enjoy this over Bollywood+Malayalam+ American pop culture I grew up with is that a smirk on the wrong character’s face doesn’t make me seethe with rage and want to burn everything down. It’s not like growing up with SRK on screen and then having SRK wannabes leave you with lifelong trauma in reality. I can just move on. It’s removed enough from my everyday life but still familiar in a generic Asian family way. Does that make sense? It’s not perfect and it’s not free of its own harmful stereotypes and narratives, but there’s enough of the good stuff to make you stick around. This year I fell in love with Nana, Kim Hye Soo, Han Yeri, Park Eun bin, Ahn Eun jin, Kim Bum, Kim Yong ji, Flower Boy’s Go Dok Mi and Search:WWW’s Bae Tami. Cancelled Ji Chang wook (bye). Desperately missed Kim Jae Wook. Had thoughts on Hwang In Yeop, which were mostly heart eyes. Discovered J dramas and fell in love with Cherry Magic’s Adachi.
My year-in-review below:
LOVED
Into The Ring - I am so glad I saved this for a rainy day because it’s exactly the kind of upright citizen shenanigans my unemployed ass needed at the end of the year.
Goo Se Ra thinks the govt should work for the people but that doesn’t mean her own moral compass always points north. Her purpose is to make steady money, and I love seeing her go hard to survive and cobble together what she needs. The thing that really works for me is that she wants to be good, but she isn’t always. And you get to see her be disappointed, upset, embarrassed and hurt from being publicly kicked in the gut as she navigates a job where she appears, on the surface, to be a supremely confident, self-serving, accidental politician. What you see as her naiveté is mostly just her being a regular person in an environment dictated by backhand deals and rich people politics. She gets hit again and again, and you see what it does to her sense of worth to get back up again, how she grapples with her self. And through all this the show is funny?! Se Ra is what writers of manic pixie characters think they are doing and not doing at all. Love her friends, and Jang Hye-jin is *chef’s kiss*!
Hyena - Kim Hye Soo’s Jung Geum Ja is perhaps Se Ra’s older and darker contemporary.  Geum Ja is a survivor and will get what she wants and where she wants to, however many hells she has to cross. She’s single-minded about her success, ruthless and has no qualms about bending morals to get the outcome she needs. She’ll never compromise on who she is or justify how she lives, can build people up and also tear them down, but she also knows care and kindness.
I turned to Signal for more Kim Hye Soo but was disappointed in how the first few episodes seemed to shortchange her. May try again in 2021.
(Highly recommend @saltr0se’s  fic series which just GETS Geum Ja so well. Fic writers are the best)
Search: WWW (Finished in 2020) - It took me half a year to finish this. I started watching Search in Oct 2019 and raced through the first 6 episodes because I couldn’t take my eyes off the rollercoaster of Bae Tami’s life. And then I had to take a break because it was a little too close to the frenetic pace of my own industry. As @drivingsideways wrote, a lot of Search is premised around ‘patriarchy? who dat?’, which is why watching its politics play out is so fascinating.  It’s also deliciously turmoil-y to watch a very clear-sighted, weathered Tami put on rose-tinted glasses for her romance and then frequently peer over them to evaluate whether it could actually meld into her life.
Catch The Ghost - Kim Seonho oozes charm and perhaps Startup was a showcase of how effectively he can be a typical male lead. But Catch is exactly not that. Go Jiseok and Yoo Ryeong have moulded their lives around to meet their most desperate wishes in life and in the process also left parts of themselves untended. There is guilt, pain and need. Now guess who will tend to whose wounds? Their dynamic is electric even when the central mystery flags towards the last few episodes of the show. I really hope Moon Geun Young is doing well and gets more amazing roles soon. She is so good here.
(Highly recommend @melonatures‘s fic for putting that sizzling on-screen chemistry into words. HOW?!) Cherry Magic - Stories about painfully awkward people are my jam and Eiji Akaso gets Adachi’s shy, nervy energy so right. Cherry Magic is straight up just 12 hours of 🥺🥺🥺.
Stranger/Secret Forest - I’ve been devouring the entirety of Agatha Christie’s work this year after Stranger reminded me how comforting murder mysteries can be. I love Bae Doona. I also love characters who don’t get social norms, not always because they are out to flout them but because that’s just not how their mind/brain works. (have to watch S2)
Flower Boy Next Door -  Honestly, the opening scene introducing Park Shin Hye’s character Go Deok Mi sold me on this immediately. An introverted, penny pinching copy editor living alone and working from home thanks to extreme social anxiety? Love. All the side characters are a lot of fun and I’ve never loved Kim Seulgi and Go Kyung Pyo more. It’s a warm show, slowly rounding off the sharp edges of every character.
JUST FUN
The Spies Who Loved Me -  It’s been a year of disappointing rom-coms and Spies kind of quietly turned it around for me. I want to be the fly on Yoo In Na’s wall as she figures how to play her characters. I’ve only seen her in 3 roles but somehow she always manages to be in character arcs that don’t short change her. Spies could’ve been and sometimes is the regular heterosexual fare, but In Na ups the ante over and over again, coming out on top as the smartest person in the room.
ENJOYED WITH *RESERVATIONS*
I have to watch A Piece Of Your Mind again because I don’t understand how Jung Hae In and Chae Soo bin built SO MUCH warmth and crackling chemistry with barely a kiss. I was iffy about how the whole AI thing started off and the tortured musician plotline (angsty male artists will forever be an eyeroll for me).
Park Min Young is a queen who never disappoints and When The Weather Is Nice is everything you want in a winter romance. My reservation was in how they explore so much of domestic abuse and the complex ways its traumatised the women in this family. I’m ok with the characters having imperfect ways of processing and understanding the violence, I welcome it. I’m not ok with the show dancing around whether the pivotal crime was justified/ self defence (it was).
A lot of dramas did this. I loved Han Yeri and Choo Ja Hyun in My Unfamiliar Family, I didn’t like the free pass the show gave their dad’s abusive character.
Hwang Jung Eum’s comedy style is generally not my thing but she was pretty great in Mystic Pop-UP Bar. But I’m side-eyeing the sanctity surrounding motherhood. Maybe I should read more about babies and Korean folklore.
Hospital Playlist was my comfort watch through June and July. I think its wholesomeness and non-plot writing came at a good time for me. But I noticed then that the throughline for all main characters was moral superiority and hence what I then saw as *wholesomeness*. It’s kind of what makes it a grating rewatch in parts. Plus the real life of misogyny of Yoo Yeon Seok makes me want to push his angelic catholic character off a cliff. (For context, i was raised catholic). I want to continue loving Chae Song Hwa, and for that the showrunners need to stop cornering her with overbearing romantic interests (let that woman breathe! she literally ran away to another city!)
Hospital is good at creating moments of comfort, so much so that I went to watch Reply 1988 after it, but had to drop it coz I couldn’t get into it. Maybe I’ll come back to it next year.
Once Again is what I call joint family propaganda. What it does well is lay bare the mechanics of living in a society that prizes the heterosexual family structure, the loops you have to jump through to hide when you break its rules and what happens when you are found out. I love the characters, their fights, their frustrations. I just don’t love the validation of joint families. (context: i grew up in an oppressive joint family lol). In my au, Nahee and Gyujin don’t get married again or immediately have children, but take the long route to figuring out how to love the person the other is. Gahee is openly dating Hyo shin and her parents have to figure out how to process her success and her romance. Young dal and Ok boon have to learn to stop dictating their children’s lives.  Joon sun runs his company from home, so his wife Hyun kyung can work on what she wants. Choyeon, Joori and Ga-yeon go back to being flamboyant AF and the market learns to not judge. Gyujin and Jaesok have to actually work on the relationship with their mother and what sent her into depression. Just a lot of learning involved.
Just Between Lovers was a nice watch, i just don’t get how Kang doo and Ha Moon So’s relationship will survive his constantly simmering anger.
Crash Landing on You was so much fun until the main romance turned angsty, but it gave us North Korean soldier shenanigans and the epic romance of Seo Dan and Alberto Gu that we needed more of.
Tale of The Nine Tailed is probably what Goblin wished it was. I, however, will never be over Lee Rang. (Also, when can gods stop meeting their love interests as babies? Asking for my sanity)
I literally ignored everything in Oh My Ghost except Park Bo Young and Kim Seulgi and it was amazing.
NOPE
Goblin, Dinner Mate, Oh My Baby and My Secret Romance were a whole lot of NO, NAHI, ILLAAA.
I loved hate-watching The King:Eternal Monarch with the rest of k drama tumblr but someone please take away Kim Eun-sook’s access to gigantic budgets and all-star casts.
It was painful to watch Do You Like Brahms squander away its potential but I’m glad to be introduced to Park Eun bin. Age of Youth is next on watchlist.
More than Friends to me is only Ahn Eun jin. Someone give her amazing lead roles asap.
Why did Record of Youth do that to Park So Dam and her clothes? Just why
WANTED TO WATCH, BUT COULDN’T BECAUSE *INTENSE*
World Of The Married, It’s Okay Not To Be Okay, Sweet Home, Extracurricular, Penthouse, Flower of Evil, Lie After Lie
WILL WATCH NEXT YEAR
SF8, Stove League, Birth Care Centre but I’ll start the new year with School Nurse Files coz it looks very good.

Once a Leader, Always a Leader
Fanfiction: Swee Home Netflix
Chapter 5 - I AM BACK
Tumblr media
Luckily, they haven't encountered any monsters inside and quickly gathered everything they could fit into their van. As they walked out, they overheard a monstrous voice screaming, however it wasn't the one that belonged to Eun-Hyuk.
"We should get out of here," Ji-Su said and hastily opened the back door of the van, putting in everything she and Eun-Yu found in the gas station shop.
"We still need to put the gas in," Eun-Yu said nervously, as the monstrous noises closed in. Ji-Su tried to pick up the canister but a stabbing pain in her stomach stopped her. "God, you have to pick it up, I can't." Eun-Yu didn't talk back and did as instructed, her previous confidence withering away with the terrifying sound nearing onto them.
As soon as she was done, Ji-Su climbed back into the van behind the steering wheel and Eun-Yu sat down next to her.
Before Ji-Su was able to start the engine, however, a creature that comprised only out of legs and thousands of eyes landed in front of them.
"Fuck, start the fucking car!" Eun-Yu screamed at Ji-Su who did exactly as she said and was about to step on the gas paddle, however something fell directly onto that monster in front of them which created a wave of wind gushing to all directions.
Both Ji-Su and Eun-Yu tried to make out what was happening in front of them and suddenly both of them realized...
"He made it," Ji-Su whispered in astonishment. They watched the familiar-looking monster dig his claws into the monster underneath him, eliminating it. Eun-Hyuk, then, straightened his back and looked straight into the van.
"What the hell is he wearing?" Hye-In finally couraged up to look, too. Eun-Hyuk had only some piece of dirty cloth wrapped around his lower body, not really offering him any proper coverage. Eun-Yu opened the door and angrily made her way to Eun-Hyuk.
"Have you lost your fucking mind?!" she started yelling at him as he watched her with that smile again.
"Don't you give me that face of yours, I hate it. I told you that if-" Eun-Yu couldn't finish her sentence because her brother leaned down, putting his hand under her armpits and raised her to his eye-level.
"I am sorry, Eun-Yu," he said softly and pulled her closer, wrapping his arms around her.
"Let me the fuck go, I am angry at you!" she said, now in a less agitated voice, letting Eun-Hyuk hug her. Her eyes again produced a waterfall of tears which she wanted to hide.
"What happened there?" Ji-Su asked after she got out of the van. Eun-Hyuk still held his sister in his arms as he came closer to Ji-Su and only set Eun-Yu down when he was right in front of Ji-Su. Eun-Yu immediately crossed her arms on her chest and looked away.
"I'll tell you everything," he said and grabbed the knot of the cloth around him, changing back to his human looks, "but first, I'd appreciate some clothes."
Ji-Su automatically went to the back of the van and looked through the bags for some pants and a simple t-shirt. Meanwhile, Eun-Yu watched her brother with a pretended angry gaze.
"You're again filthy," Eun-Yu commented on all the dried blood and goo that Eun-Hyuk was covered in.
"Yeah, I know. Sorry," Eun-Hyuk said with an innocent smile.
"Don't always apologize to me, just don't...don't be so reckless," Eun-Yu whispered the last sentence.
"Is that Eun-Hyuk?" Hye-In peeked out of the van, relieved by what she saw.
"Hey," Eun-Hyuk raised his hand and waved at her, "I am back."
"Thank god. We need somebody that can fight those things," Hye-In said and sat back into the van in relief. Ji-Su finally found something that would probably fit Eun-Hyuk even if he turned into a monster again.
"Here you go, they are a bit bigger so you don't have to change all the time. Maybe go try the gas station bathroom... to clean up a bit?" Ji-Su suggested. Eun-Hyuk took the boundle of clothes from her and bowed a bit as thanks and went inside the gas station to find the bathroom. Surprisingly, it was not in such a bad state as he imagined it to be. He found a mirror covered in dust and dirt and looked at himself.
I need more like a shower, he thought as he watched his body being covered in mud mixed with all the nasty things that came out of the monsters. There were so many that he did not really believe he would survive this time. But it was as if his monster persona kicked in suddenly and he knew what to do to save himself. He just had to devour them all.
Don't be afraid of it, just embrace it. You are the answer to the chaos, you have to know that, right? A voice in his head reminded him. The voice that became his own. I guess I do not really have another choice, hm? If I want to keep them save... I should accept it.
Eun-Hyuk tried to wash the most of the filth off of him with the cloth he before wrapped around himself and then pulled on the sweatpants and a very large T-shirt that Ji-Su gave him. As he walked out, he saw the girls standing by the van, watching the surroundings for any potential danger.
"How do I look?" Eun-Hyuk asked to enlighten the mood.
"Ridiculous?" Eun-Yu answered him and rolled her eyes. He repaid her with a smile.
"What now?" Ji-Su asked, looking at Eun-Hyuk for an answer.
"Don't you need to clean your wound?" Eun-Hyuk said instead and approached her, lifting her T-shirt without asking.
"Hey!" she cried out and slapped him over his hand which stayed put. Eun-Hyuk raised his gaze to meet her eyes and said: "It's a bit infected again, isn't it? Sorry that I made you drive... that probably didn't help as well."
"It's not your fault," she said quietly and looked away.
"Come here, sit," he instructed and showed her to the back of the van," Hye-In, could you get me some disinfectant and something to patch her up?"
The woman put her dog aside and started searching for what Eun-Hyuk asked for, meanwhile Ji-Su lied down and let Eun-Hyuk take off her now dirty bandages.
"So...," she said through her teeth as Eun-Hyuk cleaned her wound, "what now?"
"Well, I have this... haunch... Or I don't really know... maybe I imagined it-"
"Just tell us, god," Eun-Yu jumped in.
"When I was preoccupied with fighting the monsters... I though I heard Pyeon Sang-Wook. He sounded really angry. He was definitely talking to somebody to 'get the fuck out of his body'."
"Somebody is in his body?" Ji-Su asked and sat up as Eun-Hyuk finished patching her up.
"You hear voices now?" Eun-Yu rose her eyebrows at him.
"I really can't say for sure. Maybe I was just confused. But if what I've heard was real, then it seems as if Pyeon Sang-Wook's body is used by someone else? A monster perhaps?" Eun-Hyuk said.
"And how do we find out if that's true?" Hye-In asked.
"We could... try to go somewhere following that haunch?" Eun-Hyuk said with an uncertain voice. He never really relied on instinct before and always tried to be pragmatic but this new part of himself made him want to trust his gut on this.
"What? What does that even mean?" Eun-Yu asked and watched her brother suspiciously.
"Honestly, I don't like this strategy as well... but we don't really have anything else to follow right now. And the last few weeks have been literally life-changing for me."
As nobody had any other better plan to suggest, they all sat back into the van and let Eun-Hyuk drive off to somewhere he felt good about. Eun-Yu was sitting next to him with her arms crossed on her chest, watching him carefully. She felt a bit bad about always calling him a fake brother before, even though it was somewhat true. But now, he was the only family left and she couldn't imagine what would she do if he left her now. Eun-Hyuk left college so he could take care of her and that made her furious. How was it so simple for him to be so selfless?
They drove for about an hour or two. Meanwhile, the children and the adults, as well, got hungry, so they ate some dried fruit and jerky to satisfy their stomaches.
Eun-Hyuk stopped the car in front of a tall apartment building that looked abandoned, however Eun-Hyuk knew that somebody was certainly in there. He undid his seatbelt and looked at the women and children in the van.
"He is definitely in there," he stated.
"How do you know?" Hye-In asked nervously.
"I think we passed the point where Eun-Hyuk or anyone else would have a rational explanation for these things," Ji-Su said and took her knife out, "let's go then."
"You should stay here...," Eun-Hyuk said.
"Why? What's in there?" Eun-Yu asked on alert, getting rilled up again because Eun-Hyuk wanted to go on his own.
"Well, what do you think. Monsters."
"Don't you think that it's better to take us with you when you are the only one capable of protecting us? What if we stay in the car and get murdered by a crazy monster while you are hanging out inside, huh?" Eun-Yu said quickly, proud of her argument because it made Eun-Hyuk look back at the children and think about it.
Tumblr media
"You might be right," he sighed.
"Of course I am."
"God, kids, listen up. You need to stay with us at all times, alright? And if I say something, you'll do it," Eun-Hyuk turned to the children who just quietly nodded.
"Alright, let's go," Eun-Yu said with a smile and opened the van door.

Hey I'm sorry to ask, but do you have updates for korean dramas? I can't find the link to your old one but also maybe some newer suggestions? (It's okay if you don't!)
It’s cool, I can do a new one! These are all in the order that I watched them in!
WARNING: LONG POST AHEAD
1. Coffee Prince ( A great choice for a first k-drama)
Choi Han-gyul is the grandson of chairwoman Bang of Dong-in Foods, a company that has a thriving coffee business. He has never had a job and does not care for responsibility. Han-gyul is hung up on his first love, Han Yoo-joo, who only sees him as a friend. Go Eun-chan is a 24-year-old tomboy who is often mistaken for a guy. Her father died when she was 16 years old and since then she has taken over as the breadwinner in her family. When Han-kyul and Eun-chan meet, he, not knowing that she is a girl, decides to hire her to pretend to be his gay lover so that he can escape the blind dates arranged by his grandmother.
Tumblr media
2. Cinderella with four knights
Eun Ha Won is a bright college student who dreams of becoming a teacher. Unfortunately, she loses her mother in a tragic accident, moves in with a cruel stepmother, and has no money for her education. One day, she helps an old man and as fate would have it, moves into a gorgeous mansion with three equally gorgeous men, who also happen to be billionaire cousins and heirs to the Kang family fortune. Between the rebel-minded loner Kang Ji Woon, playboy money machine Kang Hyun Min and the super-sweet singer Kang Seo Woo, Eun Ha Won finds herself in the middle of the hottest love quadrangle to ever befall a modern fairy tale princess. Rounding out the mansion’s chaebol lifestyle are Lee Yoon Sung, who serves as the cousins’ handsome bodyguard, and Park Hye Ji, a gorgeous girl who has her own interests in the Kang family and is not above manipulating one cousin to get closer to another.
Tumblr media
3. Bride of the century
Taeyang Group is the largest conglomerate in South Korea. The Choi family who runs Taeyang has supposedly been under a curse for a hundred years that the first bride of the eldest son will always die. [Countdown to 2021] Top 5 Kdrama of 2020
This past year of what was undoubtedly an absolutely horrendous year of 2020--for a variety of reasons--I can honestly say that one of the reasons why I stayed sane was because of Kdrama. Being at home all day, even for an extreme homebody for me, can get harrowing because the choice of going out or not was taken from me when my area went into lockdown.
And so....to Kdrama it is. I think that 2020 was one of the very few years that I’ve seen nearly all of the Kdrama that aired on MBC, SBS, KBS, TvN, and jTBC...which is....a lot, I’ve come to realize. That brought me to think--which would I consider my top 5?
Hmmm.....Well, here I go.
Please note that my top 5 are not in any particular order. Each one that made it to my top 5 is beloved for a completely different reason. I also don’t go down the critic route and pick apart the direction, the story, yada yada. I just made this list purely on how much I enjoyed them and how much they’ve made an impression on me.
(SPOILERS AHEAD.)
#5 -- The Tale of the Nine-Tailed
Starring Lee Dong Wook, Jo Bo Ah, Kim Beom, Hwang Hee
Tumblr media
I like Lee Dong Wook as a Grim Reaper, and I like Lee Dong Wook as a gumiho/nine-tailed fox. What can I say?
That being said, The Tale of the Nine-Tailed was really about Kim Beom’s character Rang. He started as a villain (sort of), then became a reluctant ally (sort of), and then met his end with a smile. He redeemed himself throughout the entire drama, and I shed a lot of tears in the final episode, because he finally was afraid to die because he had something to live for, but his desire for his brother to come back was so strong that he’d gladly give up the remaining time he had, stolen as it was, to give his big brother a final gift. His sacrifice made an impact more with me than any other character because it was so out of character for him, and yet not. His choice wasn’t unexpected, and yet I felt like a train wreck when I finally saw it on the screen.
#4 -- Half of a Half/A Piece of Your Mind
Starring Jung Hae In, Chae Soo Bin, Lee Ha Na, Kim Sung Kyu
Tumblr media
Or....known as the drama that is known for being tragically cut short. Let me tell you, I loved this drama. It’s not an epic romance drama by any means, but the tone of the drama was really calming and healing, which is basically the premise--two lonely souls grieving find solace in one another.
I do wish that they didn’t drag the mystery of “Who is the husband?” for so long, but I enjoyed the dynamics between Moon Ha Won and Ha Seo Woo so much that I really didn’t mind it. I really wished that they would’ve kept the original run of 16 episodes instead of slashing it to a mere 12, because it really limited the writer and directors to wrap up the story, but I also do think that if they went with the 16-episode route we would definitely have the noble idiocy trope inserted, some way or another, instead of the really lovely way that Seo Woo wanted distance from a devastated Ha Won, to get over her sadness and fear of happiness, in order to run to him.
#3 -- The Flower of Evil
Starring Lee Jun Ki, Moon Chae Won, Jang Hee Jin, Seo Hyun Woo
Tumblr media
If Kairos was a suspense drama, The Flower of Evil was definitely a thriller teetering on the edges of horror. My God, this drama scared the living daylights out of me. Lee Jun Ki as a (alleged) sociopath I could see, considering that he acted a similar role in the drama-that-must-not-be-named, but in the flashbacks his serial killer father’s eyes was enough for me to shut my laptop and just breathe.
....And that was before the introduction of Kim Ji Hoon’s character.
Lee Jun Ki is the main lead, and the story focuses on him, but the one who shone in this drama was definitely Kim Ji Hoon. I’ve watched Kim Ji Hoon over the years, and I am somewhat convinced that his sudden appearance as a very psychopathic killer will jump out at my screen and strangle me in my chair. It’s very different from his usual roles and, my God, I am looking forward what he’ll choose for his next project.
#2 -- The King: Eternal Monarch
Starring Lee Min Ho, Kim Go Eun, Kim Kyung Nam, Woo Do Hwan
Tumblr media
Ah, the epic modern-Korean monarchy...but with a twist of parallel universes, and more! (Let’s sprinkle in time travel while we’re at it!)
I think that this is the one drama in 2020 where I was simultaneous satisfied that it was finished, and yet still full of unanswered questions. Like, how does a cross-universe couple happen? Especially with doppelgängers?? And why can only certain people remember what happened??? What happens now????
Putting that aside, The King: Eternal Monarch had one major flaw: Lee Rim, played by veteran Lee Jung Jin. I felt that they completely his potential as a very potent villain in the interest of creating an epic love story. I did love the Lee Gon-Jung Tae Eul couple and chemistry (which they did, contrary to some people’s opinions), and it was the characters that really stayed with me--i.e. Jo Young/Jo Eun Sup. Woo Do Hwan really outdid him in both his characters. He nearly convinced me that it was two different actors play two characters!
And...now to #1.
#1 -- Do You Like Brahms?
Starring Park Eun Bin, Kim Min Jae, Kim Sung Chul, Park Ji Hyun
Tumblr media
OK....I said that I loved each drama differently, right? Ahahaha....yeah, all lies. If I were to pick just ONE drama of the year, it’d be Do You Like Brahms?
How many ways can I wax poetic about this one? I am still obsessed with this drama, and so very happy that Kim Min Jae and Park Eun Bin won the Best Couple Award for this drama at this year’s SBS Drama Awards. I have my gripes about the drama, but they don’t in any way outweigh the highs.
I just loved the respect and communication between Park Joon Young and Chae Song Ah, both before as acquaintances/friends/comrades in respective unrequited loves, and afterwards as the giddy, heart-fluttering moments as a couple. They understood each other, and accepted one another, as two people experiencing the same pain. They didn’t try to sugarcoat it or hide it behind a smile, which they did towards everyone else. Even with Joon Young’s missed opportunities to communicate, Song Ah tried her very best, when she clearly told him that she didn’t appreciate being in the dark, and that she wanted to lean on him. I also loved how in the drama, their words and actions mirrored one another, in the way that they confessed their feelings, and asked the other to wait--not a rejection, but for an opportunity to catch up.
Honorable Mention -- Forest
Starring Park Hae Jin, Jo Bo Ah, No Gwang Sik, Jung Yeon Joo
Tumblr media
I really like Park Hae JIn, and I really like Jo Bo Ah, so put them together? Yep, we have Forest--a drama that mixes romance, mystery(?), and the proverbial forest. The drama did fall kind of flat, which was a disappointment, considering how much news I’ve heard about it, and the villains didn’t get as much development they needed to seem as “evil” they should be.
One of my favorite lines of the drama I think will stay as one of my favorites is a line made by Park Hae Jin’s Kang Sang Hyeok in the final episode (yes, I know): “The reason why I’m acting like this now...is solely because of my personal revenge--the sacred sense of duty that you think I have...I don’t.” He acknowledges his wrongdoing and is making amends, but he doesn’t apologize or try to coat his actions as anything but self-serving. He’s not someone who immediately changes due to the power of love, but takes it slowly.

Bad Boy | Baekhyun VIII
Tumblr media
( series masterlist )
part eight.
word count : 1.5k
pairing : baekhyun x reader
theme ( s ) : romcom, angst.
Tumblr media
It’s been four years, four years since Eunhye’s wedding and four years since I left Baekhyun. Now I was 27, working and making my own money.
Every time Eunhye calls me, all I think about is the day I left him. There hasn’t been one day when I haven’t thought about him.
But soon I realized, we were never meant to be. It was a just a fling for 4 weeks or so, he was from a different world, and I was from a different world.
It’s not like I got stuck on him, 4 years is a long time. Here and there I dated guys, but I couldn’t settle with any of them.
It was just a regular cloudy day, I was returning from my work. Jamming out to the latest songs, suddenly I switched to the news radio.
“The Latest need just hit in, Celebrity Ji Chang Wook dating Im Yoona? Keep up with the latest news with news Korea 66!”
I shook my head at the news, suddenly my phone rang which made my car vibrate as it was connected to the Bluetooth.
“Oh hi Eunhye.”
“Joohyun, do you have any idea what’s going on right now?”
“Hmm? What’s happening.” I said as I pressed on the race.
As soon as I pulled up in my garage, “Baekhyun’s getting married.”
“What?” I blurt out, extremely shocked at her statement. I think my heart just shattered.
“Yea, Jongdae just got a call from him out of nowhere inviting us to his wedding.” She said as I leaned back at my car seat.
“Is everything between you guys okay?” She asked as I jumped up
“Yea it is! Don’t worry!” That’s a lie, I won’t even deny it.
“Anyway tell me if you get a call, so we can go together! Okay? See you later!” She said and hung up right after.
I got out of my car, shocked at what had just happened. He’s already getting married when I can’t even go on a date properly.
I scoffed walking towards my mailbox, opening it revealed lots of letters.
Getting excited I walked inside and changed into comfy clothes and sat on my couch, opening the letters one by one.
Tax, bank, electricity bill, advertisements.
Definitely not what I wanted to see, shuffling through the letters. I saw a blush champagne covered letter, intrigued I grasp it.
“Oh, it’s his letter.” I look at it, it was Baekhyun’s wedding invitation. I chucked it across the room.
My eyes slowly tearing up, I ran towards it, “Okay but I do want to see it.” Muttering I picked it up.
My hands caressing the card, opening the card I saw the names
Byun Baekhyun weds Kim Yuna
“Ah, even her names seems prettier than mine.” I smiled, sadly.
I look over the card, it talked about inviting the closest friends of Baekhyun, what the times the wedding would be held at.
But my heart just broke, reading the next line I burst out in tears.
“Where’s your favourite place in the entire world?” Baekhyun suddenly asked, I looked at him in confusion.
“Santorini, Greece. Why?” I asked as he just shook his head.
Santorini, Greece is where the wedding is occurring, we will be pleased to see you there. The card read.
I bawled out crying, “Why does he do this.” I mutter in between my muffled cries
All of a sudden, Eunhye called again, “Open the door.” I ran to open the door and once I did I hugged Eunhye tightly, crying.
“Ah why are you crying are you okay?” Eunhye inquired as she put her bag down, no she shouldn’t know about this yet.
“Yea I just bumped into the table really hard.” I wiped my tears away and look at her frowning.
“I know there’s something but you don’t have to tell me yet.” She said as she walked in.
Damn I can never hide something from her
“It’s nothing Eunhye.”
“Oh you got his card too?” Eunhye asked as she picked up the card and started looking through it
“Yea.” I go and sit next to her, there was something different about her today, or was it just me?
“Eunhye, you’re glowing!” I exclaimed as she hit me playfully denying
“Why? Are you pregnant? I mean it has been 4 years! I need to be an aunt already!” I yell at her as she just looked at me.
But then I realized, “Wait, you’re pregnant aren’t you?” She slowly nodded yes as I jumped and hugged her tightly.
“OH MY GOD! IM GOING TO BE AN AUNT!” I yell as I walk back and forth, I was beyond excited for them. Eunhye’s face showed excitement and happiness.
“Forget about this, but are you going to his wedding?” She suddenly changed the topic, as I silently cursed.
“I don’t want to.” I exclaim and plop on the couch next to her, still in the faze of the announcement. Then Eunhye faced me.
“Look Joohyun, that was the past! This is your present! Enjoy it rather than worrying about whatever happened between the both of you, I’m sure he has moved on for god’s sake he’s getting married now!” Eunhye eyed me in a hope for her pep talk to reach me.
I nodded hesitantly as she screamed in happiness, “Okay, so I’ll call Jongdae so that he can book us tickets to Greece!” Eunhye reaches out towards her phone as I stood up and headed towards the kitchen in hopes to get something to drink.
I grabbed a can of orange juice and leaned on my kitchen counter, I’m sure he has moved on now!
“He must have but I’m still stuck here.” I mumble out after sipping on my juice can,
No, Eunhye’s right. He’s getting married, that means he has moved on! Maybe I can finally move on after I see him getting married.

This drama will have you on the edge of your seat. it will make you cry, scream out of anger, laugh every now and then and you will enjoy every second of it. Also the music lover in me adores this ost. Criminally underrated, definetly a must watch.

Ji Chang Wook. I don't know why it took me so long to watch this drama but I'm glad I eventually did. I love me some action/secret identity dramas and I finally understand the Ji Chang Wook hype. That man is a God.
Still 17/Thirty But Seventeen
Tumblr media
Gong Woo-Jin (Yang Se-Jong) is a 30-year-old single man and he works as a set designer. Due to a trauma he experienced 13 years ago, he does not want to have a relationship with others.
When Woo Seo-Ri (Shin Hye-Sun) was 17, she fell into a coma. 13 years later, she wakes up from her coma. Her mental age is still that of a 17-year-old, but she is now 30-years-old.
Gong Woo-Jin and Woo Seo-Ri get involved with each other and fall in love.
This drama destroyed me and simultaneously added 20 years to my lifespan every single episode. It's all fluff, cuteness and laughter one second and tears, angst and pain the next but it's so freaking good. Yang Se Yong earned himself a spot in my favorite K-actors list with his performance in this drama and Shin Hye Sun continues showing her insane talent while playing a 30 year old with the mind of a 17 year old. Please watch you won't regret it.
Beautiful World
Tumblr media
The series follows the story of a boy who becomes critically injured due to an incident of school violence and his family who seeks the truth and fights for justice in his name.
Stop what you're doing and go watch this. Perfect is the word I have for this drama. I cried my way through it but I always find myself coming back to it. JTBC really loves to target social issues and I'm here for it. Also strangely proud of Nam Da Reum finally getting a role where he is not just someone's younger version😅. Another hidden gem in K-Drama land and another golden ost.
Just Between Lovers
Tumblr media
It tells the love story of two individuals emotionally scarred by their past who are living the present in pain. They both lost their love ones in a horrible accident but they gain another one upon their meeting which eventually leads to hope and love that heal their wounded souls.
Beautiful. Just. Beautiful... And angsty.
The cast, the story, the ost, the everything is beautiful. Male lead is one of my favorite characters ever, I love him so much. This is definitely going to make you cry at least once or you probably have no soul. Don't watch if you don't want to cry but please watch just to appreciate beauty in it's highest form.
Chicago typewriter
Tumblr media
The series depicts three resistance fighters who lived during the 1930s Japanese occupation of Korea, and are reincarnated into the present as a best-selling writer in a slump, a fan, and a ghostwriter.
Ouch. And the power of a haircut. That's all I have to say because I don't wanna spoil but please watch.
Shut Up Flower Boyband
Tumblr media
Eye Candy is a six member underground rock band led by Byung Hee. When the group transfers into the prestigious Jungsang High School, they find their rival, Strawberry Fields. This is a story about the two rock bands and how they deal with friendship, relationships, and their passion for music.
This is an older drama but for me it will always be one of the best. A coming of age story with music, cute boys and a cute romance was really all my 14 year old self could ask for then I first watched this. Now I'm 20 and this is still one of my most rewatched dramas ever. Infinite's L (the holy visual in K-pop if you didn't know) is in this btw. Do prepare yourself for some unexpected pain and valuable life lessons.

On Three, Quietly // Cha Hakyeon // Part 4

Pairing : N x Reader
Genre : Fluff, Angst, Humor, Romance
Words :  1.5k+
Summary : Trouble comes and goes for every idol. At times its best to combat it with a well minded publicist. VIXX though, hate their new publicists. She’s bossy, nosey, and seems to care more about her paycheck than them. Her only goal is to prove them wrong. Their goal is for Hakyeon to seduce her into leaving.
(A/N)This story is another huge ass thank you to all of my followers.
Tumblr media
Part 4
He had a huge problem. One he hadn’t ever imagined happening. He was in control of his life. He didn’t have time to develop feelings for anyone. It just wasn’t in the cards for him at this time. He had the group to lead. Fans to make happy. Parents to care for. Not to mention his upcoming military enlistment.
But yet.
You stubbornly wouldn’t leave his mind.
For the last 3 months that you had been with them, every day his thoughts consisted of you. On days you didn’t see them, his thoughts were of visiting your office. Taking time out of his schedule to annoy you, bother you, talk to you.
Anything for attention from you. He found himself becoming protective when the boys would tease you. Quickly coming to hate the plans he and the others had made. You’d become his drive, in such a sneaky way that he had barely noticed it.
He wanted it to annoy him.
He wanted to push it back and pretend it wasn’t happening.
But it had, and he was powerless to fight it.
He’d fallen in love with you.
And he feared you learning of his plans to use your feelings for revenge.
He didn’t even know if you felt similarly.
He hoped...no he prayed that you felt the same.
In the end of all of this.
From the beginning of planning for you to fail and leave them.
To getting to know your true character.
It was him that had fallen. If she finds out too soon...I’ll never have a chance with her.
But if she finds out after she’ll leave me.
Honestly, I’m fucked.
Either way I lose.
I’m stupid.
I’m so freaking stupid.
Why did I do this to myself?
Have I always had this little of self control?
I’m stupid.
I’m stupid.
This is dumb.
I’m stupid.
Hakyeon punctuated his last thoughts with a groan, throwing his head back against the couch.
He was pulled from these thoughts as Jaehwan threw himself into his lap. “What’s up with you? Looking all sad and stupid?”
He lifted his hand in a simple unconscious move to slap the younger dumb boy.
“Come on. Cheer up,” he jeered, reaching forward to push Hakyeon’s lips into a false smile. “Look alive. Look cute. (Y/N)’s left us alone all week.”
And that’s why I’m sad!!
...I miss my bossy girl.
The other boys sat on the couches around him, settling in before looking over to him. “So, what next to get rid of little mama,” Hyuk asked while draping his legs over Hongbin’s.
Hakyeon sighed, pushing Jaehwan off him as he leaned forward to rest his head in his hands. “I think, I think I’m in love with her.”
Silence.
And then…
Laughter.
Hakyeon’s eyes flashed over to Taekwoon. Eyebrows furrowing into a deep glare. “And what the hell is so fucking funny?”
Taekwoon quieted, wiping the little tears from his eyes. “Sorry, nervous reaction. I wasn’t sure how to react so I just started laughing. Not laughing at you. Laughing at the situation. And also the implication that Woon will bury you..”
Hakyeon gulped at the thought of giant Woon above him as he gently shovels dirt over his body. He groaned loudly, vigorously rubbing his hands over his eyes. “What do I do? What if she doesn’t like me?”
“I guess we’re giving up on the plan.” Hongbin mumbled to himself.
“Of course we’re giving up on the plan! She’s proven she’s good at her job! She’s fixed everything for us!” Wonshik crowed proudly.
“She’s still bossy and annoying.” Hyuk whined. “I tried to go out with some friends and she made me go to bed.”
Hakyeon rolled his eyes at the younger man. “She made you go to bed because it was 2 in the morning and you were drunk.”
“Poor (Y/N), she’s always having to come in the middle of the night.” Taekwoon interjected, looking genuinely apologetic.
Wonshik’s entire face lit up, “We should set up a room for her here. So if she has to come in at 2 am she can just sleep over.”
“I volunteer Hakyeon’s bed” Hongbin snickered.
He smirked, “While I’m fine with that, how about we just be a little nicer to her?”
Jaehwan seemed to be withdrawing from the conversation, guiltily refusing to look the others in the eyes.
Hakyeon’s own gaze rolled, knowing the younger boy was guilty of something and the loud scream of frustration from the office down the hall confirmed it.
***“
Just breath, calm down, and breath. Use your soothing words.” Woon encouraged, moving his hands up and down in a calming fashion. “Lee Jong Suk. Kim WooBin. Ji Chang Wook. Dong Yong Bae. Choi Seung Hyun. Come on (Y/N) say them with me or you won’t feel any better.”
Flames licked at your skin, burnishing your complexion with a reddening hue. “Soothing words aren’t going to help me!!! I’m going to kill one of them! I don’t care which one! They were all behind this. WHERE ARE THEY!” Your voice was raw, hurting your throat as you forcefully screamed the words.
You strained to pull away from Minhee’s grasp but her arms around your arms and waist were like a vise, locked tight. A “calming hug” she’d called it. An annoying amount of affection.
Hakyeon pushed his way into the office. Moving to stand in front of you he placed his hands upon your shoulders, looking you over for any injury. “I heard you scream, are you okay?”
“Dude, bad idea. She’s not in the mood to be touched.” Minhee warned, using her hold on you to pull you back from him.
“You’re touching me.” You sneered, again pulling from her hold.
She cuddled into you closer, smiling, “I’m giving you a calming love hug.”
“Calming words, (Y/N), don’t forget your calming words. Ji Chang Wook. Kim Woo Bin.” Woon began again.
“Ji Chang Wook...Ji Chang Wook...JI CHANG WOOK WOULDN’T HIRE AN ACTOR TO STAND OUTSIDE MY WINDOW LIKE A MONSTER ALL NIGHT!!!! I thought I was going to die! What if he had been shady? What if he had used the opportunity to hurt me! Do you hate me so much that you’d put me in a situation like that? What is wrong with you?” The words hurt to be spoken, ripping at your sore throat.
You’d screamed repeatedly that night, each and every time the actor knocked on your windows, doors, every time you saw him, harming your vocal chords. You’d whimpered while hiding in the back of your closet, terrified that the situation was real. Waiting, and praying the police would arrive before something horrible happened. And then, arriving at work, to find your desktop had been changed to a picture of the actor...it was like experiencing the entire situation all over again.
The other boys had gathered outside the door, along with a few members of your team. They peered in with concern. Very rarely had they seen your professionalism break.
“I’m sorry…” Jaehwan’s admittance of guilt was quiet, nearly unheard to you. “I hired him. He was only supposed to stand outside your window for a few minutes. I only asked him to scare you. I didn’t think he’d go that far.”
Tears filled your eyes, exhaustion fully settling in. Knees buckling you’d relaxed into Minhee’s hold. They’d thoroughly exhausted you. You’d foolishly assumed that you had finally won their trust and respect. How stupid I’d been.
No matter how hard I work.
No matter how much I do.
I will always be a joke to them. It pained you to look at Hakyeon. Wishing he didn’t need to be a part of this. You’d felt yourself growing close to him. Enjoying the times he’d come to visit you. Lapping up the attention he’d give you. You’d come up with excuse after excuse to insert yourself into his schedule, just for a chance of a few minutes with him. He’d quickly become something to depend on and adore. And you were a joke.
A sigh left your lips. “You guys seriously suck.”
Hakyeon took your hand in his own, rubbing his thumb across the top of it. “I’m sorry I let this happen. He didn’t mean any harm by it. Please forgive him.”
Exasperated, you tossed your hands into the air before walking towards the door to your office.I’m getting a hotel room.
I’m moving out of that damn house.
I’m never telling anyone where I live.
And I’m never talking to Jaehwan again.Pulling your phone from your pocket, you sent out a quick email to your staff, announcing that Minhee and Woon would be in charge for the next week as you were going on vacation.
“I’m taking a vacation. I do not want to be bothered by ANYONE. I will not be staying at my house. I will not be available for contact. If there are any problems, Minhee and Woon will handle it. Do. I. Make. Myself. Clear.” The final words were punctuated while looking directly at the 6 boys that had become the bane of your existence.
They nodded guiltily as Hakyeon watched you with an expression that you couldn’t place, and currently, you didn’t care to.

Ji Chang Wook - Don’t Worry
► Requested Open? : Yes
► Word Count : 1056
► Rated : M
► Contains : Smuts involve
Tumblr media
The day that you have to be worried and nervous is here. After such a long period of time, Chang Wook finally got a script that he likes and he is filming it in this few months. However, this few day they are filming action scenes. In the past whenever Chang Wook film action scene, he always came back home with so many scars on his body and face. You always have to clean his wounds and pretend that you are okay with it.
Suddenly, you heard someone unlocking the door. You kept on praying that he will come back without any scars or cuts. However, it is impossible, he came back with cuts all over his body and face. But the first thing he did was not to complain instead he said, "Hello, ____. You must have waited very long for me? I'm so sorry for being late."
After hearing what he said, you felt touched, not knowing why but you want to embrace him. You signal him to come to sit on the couch and you head over to take ointment to apply on his wounds. Trying to hold back your tears after seeing how hurt he is, you tried to walk over with a smile on your face.
You then slowly open the ointment and pour some on the cotton swab, applying on his hand first and blowing it gently after applying.
"Tell me if I hurt you."
Chang Wook nodded smiling.
After applying both of his hand and leg, you then move on to his face. You sigh before even applying on his wound. You frown and tried to apply as gentle as you can on his wound just right beside his lips, "Seriously... Can you please be more careful and not to hurt your precious face? It wouldn't be nice if there's a scar on your face." Then you look up into his eyes, you saw him staring at you lovingly while smiling.
"W-Why do you keep staring at me like this?"
Chang Wook then grab your hand which is holding the cotton swab with ointment, he takes it over and put it down. Your eyes follow as he puts it down on the table. He then pushes you down the couch and kisses you. As its a sudden move, your eyes widened as big as possible. But Chang Wook is not going easy instead he is going rougher. Not knowing what turns him on but you just let him do whatever he wants. You close your eyes closely and kiss him back. The kiss was not innocent or like a tease but hot, fiery, passionate and demanding. Suddenly, Chang Wook pulls off from the kiss.
"I want you to ride me." He demanded. You had no choice and honestly, with the way he was looking at you, you didn't want to have a choice. You wanted him as bad as he wanted you. He then sit up and demanded you to sit on top of him.
"Right here, right now" He pulled your face towards his and kiss you again. This time it was a kiss full of desperation, his breath was breathing so hard at every kiss. Then he slowly took off your shirt and bottom. You also undo his shirt and took off his pants and boxers.
You slipped your leg to where you were straddling him. You placed your hands on the couch on both sides of his head. His hands glided down to your waist. You gripped them and moved his crotch up. He was hard already, extremely.
"I need to release soon." He whined as you began to rub your hand across him.
"I need to be inside you, to feel you. I want you to ride me so hard that you can't walk straight for a week."
He gasped as you reached down and placed his member at your entrance. You slowly lowered yourself down. He gripped your waist tightly.
"Damn it ___!"
You didn't move yet, leaning down, you kissed him on his forehead.
"Don't tease me, or you'll regret it." He growled.
"By the way, are you okay? I'm afraid I hurt you."
"Just continue, don't worry."
You began to roll your hips. He cursed at the feeling he gets. He tried to live you up but you clenched down around him. He is moaning and smiling. You knew that you are doing it right, hence you started bouncing on top of him. It was a bit tiring after a while but Chang Wook didn't want to stop. He helped you by holding your waist, he was holding so tight that your hips began to sore.
"Oppa!!" Chang Wook found your spot. He pulled you down to him. Kissing you to swallow your moans. You were getting there and he could tell.
"Cum for me ___" He whispered to your ear, sending you shivers down to your spine.
"I want you to yell my name, i want to hear you beg me to stop." And with that, you were there. You felt the electricity run up to your spine and you grabbed onto the couch.
"Chang Wook!!" You were shaking but he continued to pound into you.
"YES, yell my name baby!" He was growling now, He was about to release too. You continue to moan and yell his name. He growls more and gave on more pump and you felt him inside of you. You felt his fluids run down to your thigh and onto his legs.
You rest yourself and hug him while wrapping your arms over his neck. Both of you breathe breathlessly for a while and the living room was only filled with both of you trying to catch your breath. Then, you got up and said, "What was all this about?"
"Looking at how you trying so hard to not whine at me about my wounds, instead you try to smile and pretend you are okay makes me feel that I have such a wonderful girlfriend in the world."
"T-Then what does it have to do with this..." You said while looking down as you felt embarrassed.
"I just felt like it, suffering outside but releasing inside."
After thinking a while, you realize he was teasing you, you hit him and both of you laugh out loud.

Yoongi x Reader - Guardian (Five)
Part of the ‘Souls’ Series.
Summary: Min Yoongi is a cynical guardian angel assigned to look after you.
Pairing: Yoongi x Reader (ft Hoseok)
Genre: Romance, fantasy, soul mates
Author: Pilot
Chapter Five
Your friend didn’t believe you when you told her.
“I was literally joking when we were in the library. I didn’t expect it to be a real thing!” She said. She was still suspicious that you were even telling the truth.
“Why would I lie about this!?”
She shrugs, biting the last piece of tteokbokki off of her fork. She had listened to the whole thing, smacking your arm as you told her. She laid down on the couch, one hand on her stomach.
“Does he look like Ji Chang Wook?”
You laugh. “No, he doesn’t.”
“I’m not interested then.” She feigns disinterest then sits up abruptly. She hits you again as you’re trying to put a spoonful of rice into your mouth. The rice gets everywhere.
“Take a photo of him for me. Or better yet, introduce him to me!”
You tsk in annoyance, slowly picking up the stray grains of cooked rice from your shirt. “I can barely even get time with him alone how can I get you to meet him?”
Your friend looks at you, disappointed.
“You’re letting the team down.”
“Team? What team? What happened to Ji Chang Wook?!”
She waves her hand and sighs. “Fine. But at least a photo.”
“Fine.” you say, taking another bite of bibimbap.
//
Yoongi takes Mrs Song’s ashes to the lake. The same lake where her family members had been lost. He opens the urn and in one swift move, scatters her remains, the dust billowing and floating, landing softly on the rippling water.
He looks up. He can see her, standing in the middle of the water. She smiles at him, her eyes glittering like the sun reflecting off the water. He returns a soft, small smile and he can see she’s finally where she needs to be. With her family. She holds the hand of her daughter.
“Like me, I hope you find who you’re looking for, Yoongi.” She says, fading away.
Yoongi sighs, standing at the lake, watching the light sparkle off the water. Finally, he heads to Mrs Song’s empty home. The darkness and emptiness resounds. He flicks the light switch on and takes a seat in the chair that he always sat out. He stays there for about an hour before finally heading to the cafe.
You see him walk in and you light up. For some reason you couldn’t contain your excitement to see him. You wipe your wet hands against your apron.
“Do you want an Americano?” You ask.
He nods and pulls out today’s newspaper. You stand there, a little unsettled by his coldness and you go back behind the counter. You deliver him his drink.
“So, what happened the other night that you had to disappear so quickly?” You say, sliding into the chair in front of him.
“Don’t you have work to do?” He mutters.
What was with him? He was kind, joking around at one point and totally distant the other.
Your heart sinks and you get up awkwardly, patting down your apron. You head back behind the counter and lean against it, looking at him. You tear off the back of his receipt from the cashier and scribble on the back of it. Are you okay?
You place it on the table and he watches as your fingers tap it. He ignores it and you walk away in a huff. He glances at it but leaves it on the table where it was. He finishes his coffee. He doesn’t look at you and reaches for his wallet from his back pocket. He pays and leaves as quickly as he came.
You clear the table, scrunching the receipt and your message that he had left on the table up. He hadn’t written anything back on it in return. He hadn’t even looked at it.
You take the rubbish out and dump it outside. Snow has started to fall. You rub your arms as you open up the rubbish lid and drop the garbage bag inside.
He doesn’t even seem like a real guardian angel, aren’t they meant to be nice? Wait, does this count as stereotyping? You’re staring into space as you think. Wait, is that Won Young?
“Won Young?!” You call out, closing the lid on the rubbish bin. It is him.
“Oh, hi!” he says, waving back. He walks over to you.
“It’s been a little while, huh?” You ask.
Won Young smiles. “Yeah, do you work here?”
You pull off your apron. “As of five minutes ago, not any more!” You throw a fist into the air in excitement.
“Come inside!” you say and usher him into the cafe. You head straight to the coat rack where your jumper is hanging.
“What can I get you?”
“I’d love a hot chocolate.”
“One hot chocolate coming right up!” You head over to the cashier and place your order. Your barista friend waves you off when you offer to pay. You give her a grateful smile and then take a seat.
“How’s school going?”
“Fine…” he says, somewhat suspicious that you’re conversing with him like you’ve always known each other.
He talks a little about school, the extra music classes he’s taking. You share a little about your day. His hot chocolate arrives and his eyes light up.
You lean forward onto the table, one hand on your hip and the other under your chin.
“So. Tell me about Yoongi.”
Won Young almost spits his hot chocolate out.
“Yoongi hyung?”
“Yeah. What’s up with him today, do you know?”
“What will you give me if I tell you?” he bargains, leaning back and folding his arms. Smart kid. You think.
“Did Yoongi teach you this?”
He shrugs.
“I’ll buy you food?” You say, hopeful.
“I want something else.”
“Something else?” You question.
“Yes.”
“Tell me about Yoongi first. Is he in a bad mood or is he always in a bad mood.”
“Yoongi?” He sips his hot chocolate. “He’s just going through a few things at the moment.”
“Like what?”
“One of his assignments passed away. Part of his job with her was helping her pass on. She didn’t have anyone else. ”
You feel a pang of guilt. Here you were, feeling entitled and haughty about Yoongi being rude when he was actually hurting.
Won Young sees you quieten and he strikes conversation again.
Won Young leans forward to you, glancing around the room, his self-assuredness replaced quickly with nervousness. You lean forward, cocking your ear towards him.
“There’s a girl at my school that I -”
“Say no more.” You say, slamming your hand down and you move back. “I’ve watched enough dramas to know how to help you with this.”
Won Young immediately regrets his request.
“I take it back, just pay for my hot chocolate instead?”
You laugh. “Too late, sucker.”
Won Young sighs and lets out a laugh. “So what are you doing, now that you no longer work here?”
“I start my journalist job on Monday.”
//
It’s been a few weeks. You had no reason to see Yoongi and you had no reason to call him, not really. You had settled in nicely to your new job. Journalism and you really meshed well. You started re-considering the need to pursue law.
It was really your mother anyway, who had ingrained this sense of justice and perseverance in you. And your father, well, he was happy with the small town life. You wanted more than that. You wanted to make a difference, just like your mother did when she was a judge.
You had submitted your article on the corruption at the company to the senior journalist there and it was well received. You had been doing well, making new work friends and following stories, but given you had raised the bar with Yoongi’s help incidentally, you were more determined than ever to crack a story bigger and better on your own.
You had received a tip from one of your fellow university friends about an underground lobbyist party that had its ties hooked quite deep in the governing sectors. A story like that, well that was sure to shake the system enough to shed light on illegal acts.
You had been doing some digging too, over the past few weeks. You had gone on a couple of stake outs on your own, surveying the hotel that the officials supposedly met at.
You always brought along your laptop and book with you, pretending to be a regular at the hotel cafe. After a few weeks you noted a few familiar faces, who would also be followed precisely ten minutes later by the same regular girls. Judging from their attire, they were special guests.
It was last week that you had spotted one of the girls you attended high school with, twice in a week. She exited a darkly tinted black porche and headed to the lobby of the hotel. She always wore tight body con dresses and high heels, despite it being the middle of winter. She would enter the hotel separately from the men and exit about an hour later.
The second time you saw her, she was trying hard to cover her neck with a shawl, but the wind had picked up and blown it away from her. As she tried to get it back under control, you had noticed dark marks around her throat and the same on her thigh.
She failed to hide the deep red marks on her legs. You had reviewed a number of sexual assault cases during your law degree. You could recognise those marks anywhere. They weren’t the result of consensual bondage. She might have been in a bad relationship, but the way that the other women entered and left the building, only backed up your hunches that they were connected to the officials that came to the hotel every week.
You pretend to scroll on your phone as you take a picture. Your hunches weren’t always wrong. You had slowly been collecting evidence. The next step for you was to get yourself in there. You hadn’t quite figured that one out yet.
Unbeknownst to you, as you’re watching others, someone else is watching you.
“Yes. She’s here again.” A man says, speaking into a phone. He pulls his cap further down to cover his face.
“Follow her this time.” A voice came from the other end of the phone. “I want to see where she goes.”
//
You scrunch up your nose and look over at Yoongi. The night air is chilly, but you’re enjoying it all the same. You were glad you had layered up, putting a coat on over your oversized hoodie. You glance nervously at him. The wind rustles through the trees as you walk along the street, fairy lights that have been strung through the trees glimmering.
You’re both walking along and you’re fidgeting. You take a few steps up to him then hesitate, then walk up to him again.
“Why? What.” He turns and looks at you. Your hesitation was getting to him. You had something to say to him but you were taking your time. He didn’t feel like spending time with you at all. After Mrs Song had passed away, well her words had kept ringing through his head and all he did was think of you. It was easier to be gruff and stand-offish.
You hesitate again and he sighs, turning back around, continuing to walk down the path, one of his hands in the pocket of his pants.
You had called him, asking him to meet you at the convenience store you both frequented. You had bought with you some chips, which you had stuffed into the pocket of your hoodie. You hadn’t seen him for two weeks. You weren’t sure why but you were worried about him.
You skip up to him lightly again, flailing your arms around. Should you?
“What?” He demands, impatient.
You bite your lip. Here goes nothing.
“The other day. I’m sorry that one of your assignments passed away.”
Yoongi stops.
You take the opportunity and open your arms out, enveloping them around him. His breath gets caught. It was unexpected. So this is what she wanted to say…
“I’m sorry” You say again, into his chest.
Yoongi lifts arm up to hug you back, but stops, making a conscious effort not to. His hand remains poised behind your back, not touching you.
You give him one last tight squeeze and then let go, pretty certain you’ve now crushed the chips between your two bodies.
You step away and give him a bit of a smile.
“I just wanted to say that. I know I called you out and it really wasn’t a life or death situation, but I just wanted to say that to you.” You mumble. You step backwards, pull the packet of chips out of your hoodie and thrust them into his hands. He looks down at them and looks back up at you, but you’re walking away hurriedly to the bus stop.
What was that? Yoongi clenches the chips in his hand. He looks behind him. He can see the bus coming. With your walking you’re not going to make it in time. Yoongi groans.
“You’re going to miss your bus.” He calls.
You stop and turn around, not hearing him properly, a puzzled expression on your face.
Yoongi runs up to you and grabs your hand. He pulls you to the bus, running with you. He gets there just in time.
He nods you on and you get on, dazed. As the bus moves forward you walk quickly to the back of it, picking up speed as the bus does. You maintain your eye contact with him through the window, watching him get smaller and smaller as the bus draw further away.
Finally you’re at the back of the bus and you kneel on the seat, watching him as he stands under the lamplight. You wave, and he swears he can see you mouthing “Goodbye Min Oppa.”
He purses his lips and looks down at his hand. He had surprised himself too, grabbing it the way he had. You could have taken a taxi home. He could have travelled you home. Why did he suddenly have the urge to get you on the bus?
He sighs. His actions weren’t even making sense anymore. You were making him lose his mind. He smiles to himself and decides to walk home in the cold night air. As he walks, Yoongi thinks he hears a camera shutter sound, but shakes it off.
//
Won Young is at Yoongi’s apartment, doing his math homework. He hadn’t messaged you, or heard from you since that night.
He was glad, too. He didn’t really feel like explaining why he had decided to grab your hand the way he did. None of his alarms had gone off in the past few weeks either. Things seemed pretty normal.
Won Young repeats himself. “Hello, hyung?”
“Oh. Yeah, what?” He had been caught out, lost in his thoughts, again.
His phone buzzes. It’s you. Your contact card pops up. Rice cake.
Won Young eyes the phone.
“Rice cake?” he asks.
Yoongi clears his throat and quickly rejects the call. He hits Won Young over the back of the head with his palm. “What, can’t you get this math problem?”
Won Young sighs. Yoongi’s phone buzzes again. He looks at it, hesitating. Second call. You were persistent today. He didn’t seem to get any notification that you were in danger, though.
You grimace. You watch as the steam exits the bonnet of your car, which has embedded itself into a light pole. You had gotten into a car accident. Somehow you had run off the road. Your head was pounding and you were certain you had broken your arm. Maybe it was a fracture? You couldn’t tell. Everything was hurting.
You were surprised that Yoongi hadn’t shown up to prevent it, or to at least help you. You pull at the door weakly to open it. It’s too painful and all you can focus on is holding your phone to your head.
He’s still not answering.
You let out a wail and push the air bag away from your face. You lean over to the passenger seat and struggle to push your phone into your bag. You pull the strap of your bag and loop it over your head. With your other hand you push down the door handle and kick open the car door. You get up and out.
A couple of people have gathered around you, stopping at the side of the road. More were watching on in concern. You realise you have blood dripping from your cheek where you had hit it. You stagger to the light pole and look up. Bad idea. Your surroundings swirl around you and the pain in your head intensifies. You collapse on the floor.
Your eyes flutter open and a pair of shoes come into your view. You smile weakly. Yoongi? Then you black out.
Yoongi looks at his phone. For some reason he had an uneasy feeling about this.
Hoseok enters the apartment, kicking off his shoes.
“Oh, hey Won Young.”
“Hi Hyung.”
“Oh, you’re back?” Yoongi calls, poking his head out.
“I’m back!”
Yoongi goes to say something to Hoseok but his phone rings again. This time, it’s not who he had expected. Sang Wook? Yoongi picks it up.
“Sang Wook?” He says gruffly.
Hoseok stops what he’s doing and stares.
“Oh Yoongi. I came across one of your assignments by the highway…”
Yoongi’s chest tightens and he stands up, Won Young looking on, pencil in hand.
“What do you mean?”
“Does a Y/N ring a bell?”
“What happened. Why is she with you?”
“I don’t think you’re doing a very good job as a Guardian.” he laughs. “Don’t worry. She’s in the hospital now. She’s in good hands.”
“What hospital? Why is she in the hospital?”
“She got into a car accident?” Sang Wook says, laughing to himself. “She’s at the District Hospital.”
Yoongi hangs up on him and looks at Hoseok. Panic fills his body.
“It’s my assignment. She’s in the hospital.”
“What?” Hoseok asks, confused. “How can she be in the hospital and how can you not know?”
“I don’t know?!” Yoongi says, grabbing his coat. “She called me an hour ago and I ignored her.”
“I’ll come with you.” Hoseok says, scurrying to put his shoes back on. He turns to Won Young. “Can you get yourself home?”
Won Young nods. “Yes. I hope she’s okay.”
Yoongi closes his eyes. For some reason he couldn’t locate you at all.
“What’s wrong?” Hoseok asks, worried.
“I can’t find her? I’m trying to locate her exact location in the hospital to save time but I can’t seem to be able to.”
Hoseok lets out a sigh. “Let’s just go to the hospital administration and then we’ll ask there.”
//
Yoongi races down the corridor and skids past your room.
“Hyung!” Hoseok calls out, pointing at the room Yoongi had just run past.
Yoongi back tracks and slides open the wooden door. He sees you, resting peacefully in bed. He stands there, watching you, his fists clenched.
Hoseok ducks his head out into the corridor and spots a nurse. He waves her over.
“What happened to this patient?” he asks.
The nurse looks through your file. “Are you family?”
“I’m her Guardian.” Yoongi says, bitterly. How could I not have known? How could I have been too proud to answer the phone?
“She’s suffered a reasonably serious head injury and concussion, so we need to monitor her. She’s also fractured her arm. Other than that, she’s okay.” The nurse gives an encouraging smile and leaves.
Yoongi staggers into the chair next to you. Hoseok watches on from the edge of the bed for a moment, then decides to leave you both in peace.
Yoongi can’t comprehend the guilt and annoyance he feels at the moment. He brings his hand to your head and notices the cut on your cheek. He runs his finger along it and the cut heals.
He places his palm on your forehead and closes his eyes, taking away some of your pain to speed up the healing process.
“I knew you were going to be troublesome.” He says softly to himself, more than anything, wrought with guilt.
To be continued

Rainy recommends Kdramas
So I was slightly encouraged to make a kdrama rec list and, of course, I went overboard and went and wrote a long-ass list, but if it helps even one person, I will be happy. Besides, it’s excuse for me to rant about dramas I love and you know I can’t pass that up.
This list will be divided in multiple parts because I am a troubled watched. The titles will explain. (Genres I’ve written as per my opinion and are listed in alphabetic order cause I can’t decide how to do it otherwise, and dramas are too.) I also stopped added humor genre because most of these dramas have a fair share of humor and kept the tag only for the ones that felt purposely humor-made.
Disclaimer: This list is purely my opinion and I will not fight anyone who dislikes any drama listed here and I hope you will not fight with me. Or unfollow me. #awkward laughter. Also let it be noted I have at least one issue with each of these dramas, I do not proclaim anything perfect.
And now, finally, onto actual fic rec list, under the cut.
Kdramas I’ve 100% watched
Goblin Drama - Fantasy - Romance There seems to be only people who love it to pieces or quite profoundly dislike it. Obviously, I belong to the first group. It’s a visually stunning story that draws you in, makes you laugh your heart out and then sets it on fire. I tagged this as drama for a reason! In a way, it’s story of humankind, both at its worst and best. It’s a story of 300+ year old men being total adorable dorks. Of love and friendships that can be lost in twists of fate, but transcend a lifetime. It comes with 2 OTPs and no love triangles in conventional sense, OST that might blow your mind in best way and cinematography that takes breath away. Beware if your squick is visual age difference, though!! If not, watch away and beware: (lots of) tears may be shed.
Go Ho’s Starry Night Office Romance - Romance - Slice of Life A short and lovely watch that may surprise you. It tears into such topics as sexism, bigotry, prejudices and others, while not being too in your face about it.  As I once said,  It has all the good things of romcoms, but somehow pretty much deals with the fallout what would come with one. What’s more, it appeals to my love of jerks with heart of gold trope, in most pleasant way. Entertaining fun that isn’t all empty.
Hello Monster / I Remember You Crime - Family - Drama - Romance Though I added romance tag, this is just a side factor in grand scheme of things, though it does not feel forced and is emotionally satisfying. This is story of mistakes, of losing and finding what matters, of situations where there is no right answer. One of my greatest draws to this series was the acting, especially by three important men. Psychos that are so charismatic it hurts. Ambiguous good guys. All that good stuff.
It’s Okay, That’s Love Drama - Medical (sort of) - Psychological - Romance It’s not spoken of much and I feel the need to always rectify that, because while it might not be the most accurate portrayal of mental health care or even these issues, for me, while it might end up brushing over the end of some plot points a little too easily, there were many things that screamed deep and personal to me, that made me cry again and again as I stayed up till 5am to watch the final episodes because I could not stop anymore. Perhaps it’s one of those hits-one-in-a-hundred watch, but do give it a try, move past the eyeroll of first episodes and the male lead you may dislike (or female). What’s more, the acting is amazing and it’s chockfull with lovable side characters that have/create great and meaningful relationships and friendships.
Kill Me, Heal Me Drama -  Psychological - Romance What can I say, this drama is an experience on its own. It may lack in psychological accuracy and the female lead may seem like a screeching harpy at the start, but overall it’s very emotional ride with amazing acting and made me feel and cry quite a bit. At one point, if certain song came on, I knew I’d probably cry! But it’s not all sadness and gloom, in fact there’s so much humor and funny moments they’re brought up through drama cracks years later. And the male lead’s acting may just floor you. 7 (!) different characters and they all truly feel different, grow and change subtly.
Shopping King Louis Humor - Romance - Slice of Life Definitely a feel-good watch of chaebol (rich heir) and girl from countryside living in the capital and navigating the difficulties together. It’s cute, wacky and all around adorable, until it suddenly makes you quiver lip a little. It’s easy, sugary brain food and sometimes we need just that. (+ Male lead is played by same actor as in Hello Monster and the vast differences between characters are likely to wow you.)
Splash Splash Love Fantasy - Historical - Romance -  Time Travel If you want to spend 2 hours with easy, lovable watch, this may just be your thing. I heard a lot of positive feedback about it and thought it couldn’t be that great, but somehow it was! Pretty costumes? Check. Time Traveling? Check. Modern gadget shenanigans in historical era? Check. Sweet and troubled love? Check. Happy ending? Check. Don’t expect it to answer all your questions, it won’t, but face value of it is still worth it!
Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok Joo College/High School  - Romance  - Slice of Life My first drama and I would suggest it as first to watch for others, too. While the humor and even the characters may make you roll your eyes sometime, the theme of growing up and dealing with new and old wounds is handled with love and wiseness of heart. The eventual couple is amazing sorta enemies to friends to lovers trope embodiment and absolutely adorable. It’s a feel-good watch, until angst comes and smacks you in the face, and then you’re crying and healing along with the characters. The acting is excellent, it’s visually beautiful and there’s something charming about it. Give it a try, even if slice of life and college content isn’t your cup of tea. They aren’t mine either.
Kdramas I’ve not 100% finished, but I have watched most of it + finished with gifs, meta and clips and am still absolutely recommending and 100% plan to finish when I am emotionally and physically capable
20th Century Boy and Girl Friendship - Romance  - Slice of Life A drama lot of people ‘slept’ on because it was so quiet and subtle in some ways, and perhaps the writer was not quite sure what to do with it in the end, stretching some things far too long and not even delivering an upgrade, but... Somehow, I like(d) it a lot. So, so, so much. The female friendship of it made my heart soar, the gently blossoming romances made me physically grin so much it hurt and there were so many good, unusual dynamics about it you don’t usually see in a kdrama. If you’re in for a boat ride down a beautiful, slow and wide river where sometimes there’s a sudden bump with group of wonderful friends, this may be drama for you.
Because This is My First Life Friendship - Subtle Drama - Romance - Slice of Life Another girl friendship story. Well, it’s not just about girl friendship, but without it, the story wouldn’t be half of what it was. For me, this drama hit a lot personal spots, with our girls who are 30, but are still looking for their way in life and getting lost and finding themselves. It’s gentle, painful and reassuring all at once, there are tropes and then they’re flipped on the head in most amazing ways. The romance is slow and strange and pretty much wonderful. Maybe the characterization suffers a little in the end, but overall, I think when I do finish it, I will be satisfied and moved and feel like it was fitting conclusion for characters whose stories are in quite unique. And by this, I don’t mean just our main couple, but essentially the whole supporting cast, even rather minor characters!
School 2017 Friendship - High School - Romance - Slice of Life I am not one for high school stuff, and I don’t know when I will properly watch and finish this, but I do know I want to. Why? Because it gives me lovely characters with issues both on the superficial and deep level, fitting and transcending age group the characters are in. It’s well acted and has lovely friendships, a cute romance that is right up my alley, as it’s boy goes from fight me @ world to smitten kitten for his girl and also a lovely story of finding yourself as you grow up.
Strong Woman Do Bong Soon Fantasy/Superpowers - Humor - Romance This is a problematic favorite of mine, personally.  You won’t stick with this drama for plot, but you may for an OTP that consists of kookie, super strong girl and rich CEO who hires her to be his bodyguard because he’s already 10 feet in love with her despite his denial. It’s the ‘powerful women and pretty boys who would die for them’ trope incarnate, the heartgame is so strong you feel it through the screen. And yes, there are issues with side characters, with consistency, too many jokes about pee and so forth, but if you want any of what’s mentioned above + some feels, this may be for you.
Suspicious Partner Crime - Romance This drama may have benefited from being few episodes shorter and better pacing of romantic and crime story lines, but overall, it’s one that’s likely to draw you in and feel for the characters. It’s not just the main couple that are straight up adorable, especially when they can get beyond that I’m distancing/hiding things for your safety/happiness point, but plenty of interesting side characters with meaningful relationships and stories to tell. Besides, the acting’s wonderful and Ji Wook is one of most likable and considerate male leads (other than hiding things aspect) I’ve ever seen in kdrama (or anywhere). His confession speech is just, #swoon.
While You Were Sleeping Crime - Fantasy - Romance It’s a drama that started strong and then puttered out some, but if you’re in for a story that once again asks questions ‘what would you do if you saw future’ and gives it’s own kind of answers, this may be for you. It’s got interesting characters, cute romance and lovely friendships are made along the way, as they struggle with some truly difficult problems of morality and otherwise.
Things I have started, kept up with via media and have mixed feelings about, but still kind of am fascinated by, so I suggest you give them a try
Black (tagged on my blog as OCN Black so there’s no mistags) Crime - Fantasy - Romance (??) Personal Status - Unfinished, plan to finish It’s a wild mess, but intriguing one. I did not get further than 4 eps yet, but I do plan to try. The acting is pretty good, the story’s very twisted and I have heard mixed reactions to the way its solved, but it strays so far from anything I’ve ever watched I can’t help but be kind of drawn to it. It’s got tons of gory and/or disgusting moments, though, as its humor kind of rides on that, so be warned.
Tomorrow With You Drama - Time Travel - Psychological - Romance Personal Status - Unfinished, but plan to finish This one is a strange one, because it’s slow and with awkward push and pull dynamics, but and at the same time, that’s what makes it so real it hurts. You might want to punch some senses in characters at times, but that’s how we just are, especially if we are as troubled and traumatized as our leads. It’s a story of learning, growing as a person and healing and perhaps, if it was that, I’d be done with it and added it to the bottom list, but the eventual crime aspect felt jarring to me and I got frustrated with that story line and lost part of confidence my questions could be answered and whole drama wrapped up well. It’s just so emotionally and psychologically meaty and good otherwise, I am afraid to head into disappointment. But one day, I will wrap it up and judge for myself. W / W of Two Worlds Drama - Fantasy - Romance Personal Status - Unfinished, plan to finish Perhaps the one drama I ruined watching of to myself because of spoilers and now I can’t bear to watch the rest, unsure if I will be part of love or hate group (another one to divide the followers very deeply). What I can say, though, is that I loved the start of it, it really doesn’t hesitate to surprise you and make you think, especially if you are any sort of content creator. Very likely to make you Feel at some point.
Kdramas I plan to watch, but already love because of meta, clips and other content I’ve seen
Fight For My Way Friendship - Romance - Slice of Life Hwayugi Fantasy - Romance
Just Between Lovers Drama - Psychological - Romance - Slice of Life
I can’t say much about any of these, but at the same time, I feel like there’s lot to be said. Especially about Just Between Lovers, which, so far, appears to be the top tier Drama drama, with traumatized characters, profound storytelling and a way to both wrap you up in warmth and devastate you.
Kdramas that I’ve heard a lot of good about/have been recommended to me/I may be planning to watch
Age of Youth 1 and 2 - Another Miss Oh - Bring it on, Ghost - Cheese in Trap - Chicago Typewriter - Coffee Prince - Descendants of the Sun - Go Back Couple - Healer - My Love From Another Star - Pinocchio - Reply series - Save Me - Signal - The K2

Once a Leader, Always a Leader
Fan Fiction: Sweet Home Netflix
Chapter 6 - TRUST ME
Hyun-Su was now with Jung Ui-Myeong who was using Pyeon Sang-Wook's body about over two weeks.
What Ui-Myeong was telling Hyun-Su kind of made sense. They are evolved monster that can be superior to plain humans and that's why humans want them dead. However, Hyun-Su couldn't get on board with all the killing. At least the killing humans part.
Tumblr media
"Look, we can spend a night here," Ui-Myeong said, looking around the dark lobby, "and then continue. I heard that in North Korea it's roaming with monsters. We should head there and look for people like us."
Hyun-Su didn't answer and leaned against the reception's desk. Did he really want to go with this man?
"How do you know about North Korea?" he finally asked.
"Oh, that's simple. I overheard it when the army was doing tests on me. No human dares to go there now, they just left it deserted."
"Hm."
"What's with you? You are the future! Stop making that sad face."
"I am not sad."
"What are you then?"
Hyun-Su watched the hole in front of him where probably used to be an entrance door before. It made him sick that Ui-Myeong used Pyeon Sang-Wook's body as a puppet. People shouldn't be treated like that.
"You said that Pyeon Sang-Wook was dead when you took over his body?" Hyun-Su changed the topic.
"We went over this... He was barely conscious... he would've died anyways."
"Hm," Hyun-Su glanced at Ui-Myeong and then looked back at the hole in the wall. However, this time, he had to blink a few times to be sure he wasn't dreaming.
"Lee Eun-Hyuk?" he whispered at the sight of the young man and behind him, Eun-Yu, Ji-Su, Hye-In and even the children.
"Hyun-Su!" Eun-Yu cried out at the sight of him and wanted to go to him but her brother's arm stopped her.
"Wait," he said quietly and approached Ui-Myeong, looking him in the eyes.
"What do you want?" Ui-Myeong said annoyed and watched the young man in front of him.
"You should get out of him, he doesn't want you in there," Eun-Hyuk said and with a quick movement, laid his fingers on Ui-Myeong's temples.
"The fuck you think you are doing?" Ui-Myeong bursted out and thursted a thorn out of his body, piercing Eun-Hyuk through.
"No!" Hyun-Su, Eun-Yu and Ji-Su screamed out unianimously while Hye-In hugged the children so they wouldn't see what's happening.
"Get. Out," Eun-Hyuk commanded through his teeth, feeling a small stream of blood flowing from the mouth down his chin. Ui-Myeong's eyes rolled back and he shrieked in pain but quickly breathed in and gave Eun-Hyuk a smug look.
"Then I'll just take you," Ui-Meyong's voice was distorted and made Yeong-Su burst in tears. Then, the thorn stuck in Eun-Hyuk's core turned into a bloody-looking goo that made its way inside of Eun-Hyuk.
Sang-Wook collapsed on the floor with a thud. Eun-Hyuk immediately threw out a boutiful amount of blood and fell to his knees, feeling the strange presence in his body, trying to take over somehow.
"Fucking fight that bastard!" Eun-Yu run to her brother, standing by his side in uncertainity. "Why would you go off with such a crazy asshole?!" she glanced at Hyun-Su who watched the scene with an open mouth.
"I... I-" he tried to create some words but the amount of blood that came from Eun-Hyuk was the only thing he could've focused on.
"He's killing him don't you see that?!" Eun-Yu screamed at Hyun-Su in tears.
"What's happening?" suddenly Sang-Wook's confused voice popped into all the chaos. His eyes fell on Eun-Hyuk who was grunting in pain, punching the floor as he resisted Ui-Meyong.
Calm down. You have the upper hand. He caged himself in your body. You can crush him, Eun-Hyuk thought and took a deep breath in which was followed by the monstrous scream that make the whole lobby shake and the mirrors shatter. Hyun-Su fell down next to Sang-Wook who seemed to have pure terror in eyes that have turned its color to pitch black. Hyun-Su laid his head on his knees and covered his ears with his palms, trembling.
Even the humans were somehow frozen on the spot, enduring the eartearing holler barely.
Finally, it was over. Eun-Hyuk clumsily stood up, his body changing into the 2,5 m (8,2 ft) creature.
"Fuck," Eun-Hyuk swore, feeling an instant relief from that previous pain and tension. His eyes flew over the room, noticing how his scream impacted the others.
"Uhm, good call with the clothes," he tried to chuckle but that only reminded him of the drying blood in his mouth. The sweatpants were now a bit tighter as well as the T-Shirt, but nothing besides the hole from the thorn ripped.
"Hah, yeah," Ji-Su reacted with a weak voice and slowly sat down on the cold floor. Eun-Hyuk looked at Eun-Yu who had wrapped her arms around her and stared into the floor.
"Damn," Eun-Hyuk sighed and turned around to face Hyun-Su and Sang-Wook who were still stuck in the same positions as before. Eun-Hyuk approached them and sat down on his haunches.
"Hey," he said softly and put his hand, raising their heads to look at him, "look at me."
They obeyed but it didn't seem that they did so voluntarily.
"Listen," he said as he cuppped their cheeks, "you're safe now, okay? I am not going to hurt you."
Hyun-Su's eyes turned back to his human irises and a stream of tears started flowing down his face. He was now able to take in who was sitting in front of him.
"Eun-Hyuk?" he whimpered.
"Yeah," Eun-Hyuk said calmly and glanced back at Sang-Wook who seemed to have gotten out of the shock as well and laid his hand on Eun-Hyuk's.
"Are you alright?" Eun-Hyuk asked and put his hands down.
"What the fuck was that?" Sang-Wook said shortly.
"You're a monster, too?" Hyun-Su asked quietly, noticing the lack of hole in Eun-Hyuk's chest. He only nodded and let himself turn back to his human form.
Yeong-Su and Su-Yeong suddenly hurried to Hyun-Su and fell into his arms.
"We missed you!" Su-Yeong exclaimed.
"Oh, I missed you, too," Hyun-Su said sadly.
"What happened to the asshole?" Eun-Yu wondered and looked at the hole in the T-shirt where underneath was only a human chest covered in blood but with no wound.
"I did the same like with the others," Eun-Hyuk answered.
"What does that mean?" Sang-Wook asked wearily as he rose to his feet.
"He eats monsters," Hye-In explained from behind.
"You do what?" Hyun-Su asked, his eyes wide.
"He's superior to monsters. He can destroy them by eating them! And apparently, he's superior to evolved ones, too," Ji-Su said.
"Will you eat me?" Hyun-Su asked quietly, looking down at his hands. He knew that after his monstrous side finally got out, he temporarily forgot what had happened, but it slowly came back to him in small shards. And what he remembered wasn't anything good. He was closed in a secluded room and he always obeyed Eun-Hyuk's orders until that one day when Hyun-Su said that he won't be bossed around anymore. Could that backfire now?
Eun-Hyuk closed in to Hyun-Su which made him flinch away. The children were holding Hyun-Su tightly as if defending him against Eun-Hyuk. But Eun-Hyuk only placed his hand on Hyun-Su's hair.
"Don't be ridiculous. Why would I do that?" Eun-Hyuk said.
"I... I defied you. And went with Ui-Meyong."
"So what. You had no obligations to me."
Hyun-Su looked up, noticing that Eun-Hyuk's face that always carried an expressionless mask was now filled with compassion.
Eun-Hyuk didn't know, though, that after the scream affected the other monsters would let him enter their minds if he touched them. And so accidently, he saw flashes of Hyun-Su's broken memories - the bullying, the hopelessness after his family died, the suicidal thoughts.
Eun-Hyuk's eyes slowly became glassy so he put his hand down and looked away.
"Let's be a team, hm?" Eun-Hyuk suggested, blinking away his tears and looking back at that broken boy in front of him. Hyun-Su raised his head, his lips parted a bit as he was thinking of an answer.
"A team?" Sang-Wook answered instead.
"Yeah," Eun-Hyuk said, looking at Sang-Wook, "we have s few humans around that need protecting. I am not sure if they haven't turned just because they didn't properly get into contact with this... infection. Or if they are simply immune to it. Be it as it may... You two also need to figure out how it works. We can't get random uncontrolled transformations."
"So, you know how to control yours?" Ji-Su asked.
"Hopefully... At least for now it seems clearer to me," he said and raised his hand to let everyone see it change into the clawed form and then return to normal, "but I can't make any promises. I guess if a moment comes that I'd be uncertain of my sanity or anything... I have to tell you right away so we can plan accordingly... and if necessary... get rid of me."
"What?" Eun-Yu rose her voice.
"How would we get rid of you? You just received an enormous injury and now you look as if nothing happened," Hye-In noted.
"That's true... that could be a problem," Eun-Hyuk admitted.
"Can we please not talk about killing you and focus on survival?" Eun-Yu said annoyed and furrowed her brows at her brother.
"Sorry," Eun-Hyuk apologized and walked to Eun-Yu, putting his arm around her shoulders who surprisingly didn't shake him off and just stood there, stubborningly looking away.
"Another thing... we should probably get a different vehicle. Maybe like a caravan if we're planning on traveling a lot."
"Where do you want to find a caravan?" Hye-In wondered. "We were lucky to get our hands on this van," she said and walked over to the children who were still holding onto Hyun-Su.
"There has to be some abandoned shop... We can't be squeezing in that van for a long time," Eun-Hyuk said.
"I actually know a place. They resold used vehicles... I guess some cars could still be there in one piece," Sang-Wook said.
"Hm." Eun-Hyuk looked at Sang-Wook who kept his cool as always and walked to him which made Sang-Wook take a step back.
"What are you doing?" Sang-Wook said on alert.
"Nothing. How are you feeling?" Eun-Hyuk asked curiously, sensing Sang-Wook's nervosity that wasn't only caused by Eun-Hyuk's strange behavior.
"I am fine," Sang-Wook answered shortly, "why are you so weird about it?"
"I am sorry," Eun-Hyuk awkwardly chuckled and scratched the back of his head, "it's just this sixth sense I am dealing with lately. But if you have something to let out, better do it here than in the van with little space, what do you say?"
"What are you talking about?" Ji-Su wondered.
"I think that him being possessed postponed any transformations. That means it's all stuffed inside of him and he's barely holding it together-"
"So, you are now an expert in monsters? Or what?" Sang-Wook said, his tone being on edge.
"I wouldn't say an expert...-"
"I don't want to become a mindless monster! Of course I am trying-," Sang-Wook paused as he felt heat rising within him, "I am trying to hold it together."
"Yeah, I know. You'll be fine, though. Like Hyun-Su," Eun-Hyuk answered calmly.
"How do you know?!" Sang-Wook bursted out on him, his eyes changing color.
Eun-Hyuk also wasn't sure how he knew. He was somewhat aware of the fact that if he's there while Sang-Wook turns, he'll be able to keep him somewhat by his senses.
Everyone else in the lobby watched the two silently, as if any noise could've had destructive consequences and Hye-In tried to comfort the children as quietly as she could since they were uneasy from the whole situation.
"Trust me in this," Eun-Hyuk said and grabbed Sang-Wook's hand tightly, pulling him closer.
"Let me go!" Sang-Wook said angrily as his body twiched and its surface slowly changed from human skin to a wrinkly one with wounds that seemed to have produced some liquid. Eun-Hyuk held onto Song-Wook's hand during the whole process, having a short glimpse into yet another painful set of memories.
"Look at me," Eun-Hyuk said strictly when Sang-Wook's change came to a finish. Sang-Wook's black eyes landed at Eun-Hyuk's face in anticipation.
"Good," Eun-Hyuk said and laid Song-Wook's hand he had been holding on his chest and put his own hands on Song-Wook's temples, "it'll be alright. Just listen to my voice. You have control over this and you can change whenever you want. Hm? Yeah, that's right."
Song-Wook's skin was returning to his human one once again until he was back to himself, watching Eun-Hyuk in awe.
"How did you do that?" Hyun-Su asked in amazement, "it went so smoothly..."
"I don't want to make any premature conclusions," Eun-Hyuk said, taking down his hands from Song-Wook's head, "but I think that when a monster hears the... scream, or however you want to call it... then... they somehow do what I want."
"What?" Eun-Yu spat out of herself.
"So... you can make us whatever you want us to do? Even against our will?" Hyun-Su said, anxiety rising in his voice.
"It would seem so," Eun-Hyuk confirmed and raised his palms in defense, "I know... it's a bit of a moral dilemma. I can tell you that I won't misuse it but let's be frank. I do not know what lies ahead of us-"
"If I am a danger to somebody, then you can do whatever you want to stop me," Hyun-Su interrupted.
"Hm, I guess, same here," Song-Wook added, "if we get a say in this..."
"That makes you pretty dangerous," Ji-Su said, "we should keep it as a secret. Just imagine if the army found out..."
"The army would be stupid if they wanted to kill him!" Eun-Yu cried out, "and even if... you'd survive it, right?" she looked at her brother who gave her a small smile in return and said: "I promised that I'll come back, didn't I? Then I'll always come back."

MmmMMMMM lastly... I want your top 5 dramas otps & what makes them Your Fave.
okay I’m going to take into consideration that this just says otps and not just romantic SOOOOOO :D
Kang To/Shunji (Gaksital)
Though the drama was basically showing how they progress from friends to enemies, the whole time you can see how much they still care for each other. Their whole relationship is just tragic and I cry for them. And from the moment Shunji finds out Kang To is Gaksital, everything after is so heart wrenching? I think it’s the fact that they started the drama as such close friends and to see them slowly grow apart while simultaneously trying to hold onto the other as much as they can is extremely sad. But it makes for great television!
Best scenes:
Ep7: The bicycle scene: A nice way to just rip out your heart.
Ep22: When Shunji finds out Kang To is Gaksital. kjadshbf it’s obvious he knew long before but uGH his EYES when it’s actually confirmed. It just broke me heart.
Ep25:
• “You, whom I liked even better than my own brother, who was at one time my only friend!”
• "Thank you for catching me. Now that I’m caught I won’t have to kill you with my own hands.” OKAY WOW @ THE TEARS
Joo Won and Park Ki Woong absolutely killed their roles and I loved them whenever they were on screen apart but especially when they were together (Please film another drama together! That cameo in Good Doctor was just :’’’D)
Ko Yi Suk/Hong Do (Heart to Heart)
The biggest reason that I love these two is because of how good they were for each other and what they learned from the other as they spent more time together. They basically began to heal each other. These two lonely people just came together and loved each other and :’’’’)
Best Scenes:
Ep4: Ep4 in general made me love the show and these two together but once it got to that ending scene i was sold. These two had my heart. It’s such a perfect scene. they’re both so lonely in that moment but they’re together ahshhhh. When she strokes the back of her hand with her finger i mean!!!!
Ep5: The morning after scene will never fail to make me squeal and just smile out of happiness. It’s just such a nice intimate moment and they’re both so comfortable there with each other 😭
Ep10: When Yi Seok just yells out his love for Hong Do at her house!!!! He’s just so in love!!
All their scenes together are beautiful and nice and amazing. But I’m restricting my fave scenes to only 3 😩
Je Ha/Yoo Jin (The K2)
BLESS THEM. I went into the drama not expecting to love these two together at all so it literally just hit me out of nowhere. The moment when they first meet in Yoo Jin’s house. THE TENSION?? WHEW! Song Yoon Ah and Ji Chang Wook’s chemistry was just crazy. I love that they were two people who were basically enemies deciding to work together  to achieve their own goals. I don’t care what anyone says they totally came to care about one another in their own ways and it’s just so obvious in everything they did/said. Gosh, I loved them :(
Best scenes:
Ep3: When Je Ha saves her from the fire. When she reaches out her hand when they’re taking her away from him. Anyway this is the scene when I just Knew that I was going to be in deep.
Ep5: “I definitely didn’t press the button twice. But he knew that I needed him anyway.”
Ep10: “Je Ha ya… If you find yourself in a situation that’s too dangerous, it’s okay if you just come back.” GOD
I made a fanvid for them. That’s how far in I was!!!!
Anyway…
Belle Epoque Girls (Age of Youth)
If they weren’t here it wouldn’t be right. Anyway!! I got so attached to these girls. I made a huge post for KWW about why I love them here. But basically I love how these 5 strangers really came together to care and love each other.
Also, I’m restricting this to S1.
Best Scenes:
Ep6: When Ji Won dresses up as Wonder Woman. They just had so much fun during this little sequence it was so cute :’’D
Ep8: When the girls knock Jong Yeol out because they heard Eun Jae scream! An iconic scene that I’ll never get tired of watching. They just look out for each other :’)
Ep12: When the girls just hug Eun Jae after she disappeared for the night and Yoon Sunbae says; “It’s okay now because you’re back.”
Toma/Sebumi (Keizoku 2: Spec)
Okay, this isn’t a kdrama but I have to include them because they’re just so GOOD. I can’t even really explain it but you have to watch the dramas (and the movies/specials!!) to understand yknow??
Best Scenes:
I forgot when many of these things happened & if it was during the drama or the movies so please forgive me since I can’t be precise with when it happened. Please help me if you know though!
Ep5: On the rooftop. It’s just such a nice moment they share and I just LOVE THEM
When Sebumi tells Toma, “You’re the only light” OHMYGOSH???????? WOW
“For me, who had seemed to have fallen into darkness this time, Sebumi san was my light.” !!!!!!!!!!!!!
anyway the pairing of our Generation!!
Hee Jin/Boong Do (Queen In Hyun’s Man)
Okay I know you said 5, but I just realized that I forgot to add these two and I just have to! I think my favorite thing about Hee Jin and Boong Do is that they weren’t necessarily fated to meet or anything and that could easily have been the premise for something like this when one of them jumps through time. They kind of just happened to meet and fell in love. And what a beautiful love story it was :’) I loved that their love became something so deep that they could just feel that the other person was there even when everyone else forgot or they had lost their memory of their other. I don’t know it’s just so great that their love became so strong! Yoo In Na and Ji Hyun Woo just were perfect together. I can’t imagine anyone else playing these characters.
Best Scenes:
End of ep4/Ep5: The library kisses!!! They had the best kisses and Hee Jin gave the best excuses for them to kiss and this was just!!! so cute!!!
Ep16: The split screen when they’re in two different times, but the same place (PERFECT OST) And I think this is the perfect scene to illustrate how deep their love goes when Hee Jin just starts crying in the middle of her narration.
Basically anytime they meet in the red phone booth :’’)

GATM//2: Bloom
I cringe. #backatitagainwithattemptstowrite
A chapter of attempting to develop some character devices cause its needed. But I really just want to skip to the meaty bits already gah.
Here’s to a multichapter fanfiction attempt of my current fave ship.
Previous: 1-A Fateful Meeting
It seemed like plate upon plate upon plate of food being set onto the table was never going to stop coming. An older woman with short stature and a ready smile on her face adorned with a plaid, navy blue apron was humming as she walked back to the kitchen once again to retrieve another serving of food to put on to the dining table.
"Eyyyy, Eomma! This is too much! You're overworking yourself," Ji Chang Wook playfully protested as he hovered between the kitchen and the dining table, watching it slowly get filled up with numerous dishes and sides until the surface could almost not be seen. He was pleased to see his mother in her element but was also partially, genuinely concerned at the time-consuming and hard work his mother must have put in to make the feast being laid in front of him.
"My son that I miss so much has come back from the army! All the mothers of Korea would be do the same thing. This is normal," Chang Wook's mom called out to him from the kitchen. After scooping a ladle full of soup onto a big bowl, she cautiously exited the kitchen. Chang Wook hurried to his mother to help her set the bowl on the table.
"A mother's joy among many things, is to feed her child food that she's cooked. And I haven't been able to cook your meals in a long time! Consider this a favor for your mom that's been lonely cooking meals just for herself, ne?" Chang Wook smiled affectionately at his caring mother and gave her a hug.
"My mom, you worked hard. Thank you very, very much."
Hugging her son just a bit tighter, she felt herself tearing up at the thought of all the things that her son had to endure. Beyond the army, there were months that he would barely be in contact knowing full well he was giving his all to another project often to the neglect of his own health by not having proper meals and eating ramyun after ramyun instead. For what its worth, she wanted to show her son her love and support in as simple as preparing food for him to make him feel that she was always there for him. Though he may love his job,  she knew it must have been difficult to always keep people at a distance due to the nature of the industry he chose to be in.
Working to stop the tears from falling, she decided to take the conversation into a lighter tone by slyly remarking, "…if only my son can finally give me a daughter in law to help with the household and keep me company around the house…" At that statement, Ji Chang Wook briefly stiffened. "Didn't you have that girl you always went out with? What was her name…lemme think..I think it started with a J? J-J-"
"Ah, eomma! Now, now! I wouldn't want the food that you worked so hard on to get cold," Chang Wook hurriedly worked to change the topic at hand. He put on an exaggerated act of enthusiastically sitting down and putting on a face of awe at the feast in front of him.
She shook her head at her son and settled the topic to be brought up again for another day and sat down at the table.
In front of them was truly a feast that bring about awe. On the table laid home staples sides that ranged from a fluffy rolled egg to all kinds of seasoned vegetables (bean sprouts, spinach, radish, perilla leaves, kimchi) that were sure to renew one's health, cucumber pancake, hearty slices of bossam and a murky, meat filled soup at the center.
"Sundaeguk! Sundaeguk! Hwa~ I missed that the most!" Chang Wook beamed and already had a spoon at the ready to dig in. ------------------------------ Ji Chang Wook sighed contentedly while rubbing his stomach. Settled comfortably on the couch with the remote on one hand and the other on his stomach, the handsome actor looked every bit of a newly released and unemployed army man lazying around in mismatched house clothes  that he was rather than what one would expect from someone who is a fashion icon, a sponsor and face of products ranging from luxury brands to face masks that millions of people go crazy over.
"Ah, I'm so full…," Ji Chang absent mindedly murmured as his concentration was on the soccer game that was airing on TV.
After his early lunch with his mother and the clean up afterwards, she had insisted on him resting whilst she went out for errands though he had suggested accompanying her. Since then, a few hours have already gone by spent watching the replayed soccer tournaments and the usually active man was starting to feel restless.
Getting up from the couch to retrieve his phone in his room, he dialed his manager's phone to see if he was available to go for a motorcycle ride around the city later in the day along with some of their other friends.
The quiet beeps of the flash sounding from the camera could be occasionally heard cutting through the music sounding in the studio.
"Good! Ji hyun-sshi, just tilt your head to the right a little bit…neh, neh. And your hands…..good, good," the photographer took a photo as he crouched in the ground to take a photo of Nam Ji Hyun in a better angle. Taking a pause to review the photos taken on the computer screen, people from Ji Hyun's styling team took the opportunity to retouch her makeup and add further volume to her tousled hair with a hairspray and a comb in hand.
Nam Ji Hyun stood from her position on the floor for her stylist to better fix herself, the trail of her off white, chiffon dress fluttering behind her. Rearranging the relaxed waves of hair strategically on top of the flower crocheted V-neck lining of her dress, the actress exuded the perfect example of simple elegance and innocence as her outfit highlighted her youthfulness and delicate features. And yet when it was time to resume the photoshoot, the versatility of Nam Ji Hyun's gaze brought out by the photographer's directing showcased an allure that wouldn't be expected from a fledgling of a former child actress. Delivering looks ranging from one of coquettish curiosity to pained longing to hesitant desire with ease, young though she may be, it could not be refuted that she was still a seasoned professional with over 10 years of experience in the industry with the control she had over her expressions.
The photographer murmured in approval as he prompted Ji Hyun to make slight changes on her poses. "Just one more...And...we're done! Good work everyone! Good work, Jihyun-sshi!"
Jihyun bowed her head humbly to everyone around her saying, "Thank you everyone! You've worked hard. Thank you," before she approached the photographer to personally thank him.
"Thank you for your care and guidance, photographer-nim."
"Thank you too, Jihyu-sshi. The photoshoot today will be for sure be a success with the quality of shots you've allowed me to take. You are truly amazing. It's going to come out great."
"Ey, photographer-nim. Anieyo. I just tried my best. Thank you for acknowledging my effort," Jihyun bashfully and humbly responded to the photographer's compliments.
"It has been an honor to work with you, I hope I can take more of your pictures in the future and oh! Good luck on your movie," the photographer shook her hands and left to further review the shots that he took.
Meanwhile, Jihyun went to go change out of the sponsored dress for the photoshoot and go back home as her schedule was done for the day.
Rambunctious laughter filled the café as Ji Chang Wook and his friends entered the place with their helmets in hand. The barista standing at the wooden counter illuminated by the metal light fixture and the letters spelling out PEACE overhang against the wall, greeted the crowd with familiarity and set out to do their usual drink orders.
They collectively passed by to head to the stairs where there was a private seating area in the upper level for the owner and his friends to hang out as they wish. The retro coffee shop by day and bar by night, Carnaby St., was the regular hangout for the handsome actor, especially on days when he went out to for a ride on his motorcycle or vespa. The vibe of the shop was stylish, bright and yet approachable with its eclectically designed British memorabilia that makes one feel like they're at the heart of London.
Everyone was settled on to the wooden table placed amidst the string lights and hanging vines upstairs as the owner of Carnaby St. brought them their drinks. With the owner joining in, they updated each other on the going-ons of their life that had been busy lately and prevented them from getting together sooner. Their conversations were boisterous and filled with teasing and jokes especially to the expense of Ji Chang Wook as his release from the army was one of the main topics to talk about. A lot of his friends had already enlisted long before he did and knew from experience the difficulty of adjusting back into society once again and wanted to ease their friend back to the way of things. It made Ji Chang Wook really appreciate his friends as he saw their efforts and love the bond they all had despite being in different working industries.
Bringing himself out of his thoughts, he tuned into the conversation to hear about Gil Bok who worked as a camera director talking about the new movie he had been busy with to Chi Gu.
"Are you guys going? I'm sure the higher-ups expect you guys to come to the VIP Premiere since Chang Wook-ah is back and he's worked with the actors of the film before."
Chang Wook looked at Chi-Gu in inquiry.
"It's still a couple of months away so that's probably why the company hasn't confirmed with us about the scheduling quite yet," his manager responded.
"Ah okay," Ji Chang Wook said to Chi-Gu and then turned to his other side. "Hwa~ Gil Bok-hyung, this is rare for you to suddenly bring up work. That's strange."
"Yeah it is not typical of me but you guys have to watch it when it comes out! This old man's heart has been moved," Gil Bok jokingly patted his chest with a mockingly teary eyed expression, his mouth skewed in a comical manner.
The actor and his manager laughingly jeered at Gil Bok's antics.
"Oh, are you guys talking about Jihyun-ah's new movie?" Choi Tae Joon interjected into their conversation. "She was telling me about it when I happen to meet her in a café with Khun (his cat)."
"That's right. Yah~…Nam Ji Hyun-sshi," the camera director shook his head. "It's amazing. She is completely different in this one," thinking of how the young actress's role in her new film was a complete and utter departure from her roles in the past. "The set would get goosebumps in some of her scenes."
"Jihyun-ah?" Ji Chang Wook tilted his head in thought.  "I didn’t think she'd be doing another project yet. We lost contact after my first year in the army but I remember she told me she was taking a break to finish school."
Tae Joon shrugged. "I didn’t get a chance to ask her but we're probably going to see each other again in that cat café since she's a regular there so I could ask for updates."
"Oh! Jo Jae Yoon-Hyung is also part of the production by the way," Gil Bok mentioned.
"It's the same movie that you were working on? I know he mentioned he was busy with a movie that's coming out soon. I didn't know it would be the one you were also in," Tae Joon said.
"Yeah, he's not playing a bad guy this time," Gil Bok laughed. "Did you know his wife is pregnant again?
"Wow, again? Incredible," Chi Gu remarked. "I don't know how he does it..."
"Hyung! Have you seen the game last night?" Kangwoo, who had been busy talking with the Carnaby owner, Jin Su, excitedly brought up the soccer game that aired to Gil Bok and the others.
And just like that, the group got swept up by talk of their favorite sport, they fervently discussed the moves of the players and moved on from discussing work matters.
While Ji Chang Wook joined in on his friends' conversation, he couldn't help wonder at the back of his head how his lovable costar was doing and be especially curious as to what she was working on to have made his hyung react in such a way.
