ARTEM CAME HOME IN 84 PITY. I LOVE YOU 😭🫶🏻❤️ I had like 3k schips and 4 free tears to pull for him and he came home! He knew I lost to Marius in his December card so I *KNOW* he made me win this.
Tumblr media
I luv you 🥺✨🫶🏻❤️
P.s. Artem and Rosa here looks like Fung Lan and Inspector Mak from “Last Madame”. Rosa in a Cheongsam and the like Japanese War time aesthetic of the 1930s-40s of Artem screams The Last Madame. I swear.
p.s.s. I just finished reading the card and I’m WRECKED. I realized though aesthetic wise it’s giving Last Madame vibes, plot wise it’s quite similar/same vibes as the Kdrama Chicago Typewriter. Anyway, it’s both good shows! Though Last Madame is rated 18+ :) View at your discretion.

If 'The Worst of Evil' doesn't give me the same homo-eroticism as 'The Merciless' while also giving me the same star-crossed throuple vibes as 'Chicago Typewriter' then what is it actually giving me?

wait what happened to Yoo ah in???
Tumblr media
The story behind Yoo Ah-In's drug use is so sad.
Yoo Ah-In originally tested positive for marijuana which is illegal in Korea, but then tested positive for Propafol, a controlled drug that given to him illegally by different doctors over a two year period.
After that, he also tested positive for cocaine and ketamine, a drug that might have been illegally prescribed to him. Finally he might have also taken zolpidem in "excessive amounts." (not my words).
After this went down (really fast actually), all of his upcoming projects got cancelled.
The thing is, he has a sleeping disorder he was being treated for and apparently started taking other drugs on top of that. If you've ever had a sleep disorder, you would understand the toll that takes on mental health. I also remember he has (had?) a painful bone tumor so I get the impression he's been through a lot.
Look at his drug choices:
Zolpidem can be used used for insomnia
Propofol is an anesthetic used for sedation
Ketamine is also an anesthetic but can help with depression and anxiety.
Marijuana also can help with anxiety and sleep
These are drug are ones someone who wants to be unconscious would pick. This screams mental health issues to me and someone who legit needs therapy and help, not arrest warrants.
For me personally, I'm just devastated because he is SUCH a talent and his career is pretty much over. I don't think drugs should be illegal (any of them), but on top of that we should treat drug addiction as a mental health concern, not a criminal issue.

Hi, top 5 Kdramas please!
it was so hard to pick only 5 ;; but not in any particular order since they all have vastly different #vibes:
chicago typewriter. three people--a famous novelist, a ghost writer, and an errand girl--cross paths in modern-day Seoul and in different ways try to help the novelist complete his latest story -- a novel about freedom fighters during the japanese occupation of korea in the 1930s. however, as the story continues, and the trio get more and more involved with one another, it turns out the story isn't just a story, but the retelling of their past lives where they were lovers, comrades, and maybe even enemies. a rare kdrama where the ending is stronger than the beginning, this is a slow burn that takes its time to get going but once it does it's so SO good. drama, comedy, romance, everything!
welcome to waikiki. three losers (a prospective director, an aspiring actor, and a wannabe screenwriter) live in and run a sharehouse. one day, they wake up to find a baby in one of the rooms, and chaos ensues. so fucking funny, i love the ships, and the cast is well balanced between the three male leads and the three female leads. A+++
mystic pop-up bar. kang bae, a 20something who works in customer service, has a curse where whenever anyone touches him, they are compelled to tell him their deepest secrets. one night, he crosses paths with weol ju, a shaman who is cursed to an immortal/unending existence until she resolves the grudges of 10,000 humans because of a grave sin she committed in her mortal life. with her is gwi, a retired ghost cop who now helps her run a pop-up bar where they enter dreams and try to resolve weol ju's debt. kang bae joins them when weol ju offers him a bargain: use his powers to help her resolve the grudges, and once 10k are up, she'll remove his powers. you think this show is run of the mill case of the week, but it all builds together so beautifully and it's such a great found family dynamic. i love this ooone
bridal mask/gaksital. set in 1930s korea during the japanese occupation. kang to is a ratbastard -- a korean who works for the japanese as a police officer and turns in his countrymen. he becomes obsessed with hunting down BRIDAL MASK. a zorro-esque freedom fighter with a hidden identity. to get to him, he tries to capture mok dan, the daughter of a freedom fighter general and bridal mask's suspected lover. the first few eps get you thinking it's going to be a cheesey action show, but it's a fantastic tragedy with so many nuanced character arcs.
extraordinary you. dan oh is a rich high schooler at an elite academy, who has a crush on her aloof and disdainful fiance, baek kyung, and a tragic but non-descript heart condition. one day, she starts realizing parts of her memory are gone, and there's the distant sound of someone turning the page -- turns out she's a character in a romance manga, but not even the heroine-- just a side character. in order to change her fate, she enlists the help of 13 -- a nameless background character. so cute, quirky, and highly HIGHLY addicting. loving meta parody of high school shoujo stories like Boys Over Flowers.
bonus, because they were REALLY close to top 5: beyond evil (serial murder? in a small village? more homoerotic than you'd think.), arthdal chronicles (bronze age-esque fantasy epic with more ambiguous leads than you can shake a stick at), and happiness (when you have to stop the zombie apocalypse but there's only one bed)

✨ dramas i watched in 2022 and my ratings for them ✨
Had a short kdrama year because I fell into a random slump. Here’s what I watched this year:
1. Strongest Deliveryman ⭐️⭐️  (it got very skippable near the end. cute ships but wish i got to see the thriving company at the end. good ending tho. not great, just good. i have a girl crush on Lee Dan Ah tho)
2. Chicago Typewriter - TvN ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐  (soliiiddd!!! the friend 😭 ship 😭 got me back into writing too omggg. excellent plot. excellent cast. excellent characters. chef’s kiss. ending was excellent. did not feel unfinished at all.)
3. Move to Heaven ⭐⭐⭐⭐ (solid slice of life and v nice characters and OOF TAE JOON NEED I SAY MORE. subtract a star for the unfinished side story tho like why’d they build it up like that to not give me closure goddamn)
4. The Silent Sea - Netflix ⭐⭐⭐⭐  (scifi!! in a!!!!! drama series!!! give me more!!!! and bae doona!!! again shoulda been a five star if they gave me a little bit more at the end for closure)
5. Happiness ⭐⭐⭐⭐ (would have had 5 stars if the resolution wasn’t so rushed! 4.8. can i do that? anyways this is a post pandemic apocalypse drama...i lowkey needed therapy after finishing it. 12 episodes and very bingeable! how to ruin your weekend 101.)
6. All of Us are Dead - Netflix ⭐⭐⭐ (i already watched happiness so this just felt like a re-hash of it....oops. unsatisfying ending imo ://// idk it was as expected. nothing major.)
7. Ghost Doctor - TvN  ⭐⭐⭐.5 (mehhh...got predictable and slow but I loved the ending and the beginning was so intriguing)
8. Through the Darkness ⭐⭐⭐⭐ (more like a 3.6! some familiar stories and overall good acting. if you like criminal minds, you’ll like this!)
9. Twenty-five, Twenty-one -TvN  ⭐⭐⭐⭐ (v nice youth show except I feel like I’ve seen this concept before already)
10. Forecasting Love & Weather - JTBC  ⭐⭐ (what was that honestly)
11. 39 - JTBC  ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐ (YUP. It gave me everything I wanted. Romance. Friendship. EMOTIONAL. Everything.)
12. Little Women - Netflix  ⭐️⭐️⭐️ (IT WAS SO STRONG. SO MANY HOPES. Then it fell off. Did not like the ending.)
13. Extraordinary Attorney Woo - Netflix  ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐ (PERFECTION. NEED I SAY MORE?)
dramas from this list i’d rewatch in the future: chicago typewriter, move to heaven, and extraordinary attorney woo!

Also had the chance to shoot a Chicago typewriter aka the Tommy gun. That gun climbs on you very fast when shooting full auto!
