shanks, four years younger than mihawk, is usually granted the "starry-eyed crush on the cool older boy" trope (with good reason!), so i was thinking it'd be cute to grant that dubious pleasure to mihawk in an age swap au instead.

mihawk, scrappy nine year old, gets picked up by roger for a trip on the oro jackson to the next island (roger just wants to feed the kid lol), and gets sweet talked into it by dangling a duel with rayleigh, the current world's greatest swordsman, as bait. when mihawk gets there, rayleigh says mihawk has to be able to beat his apprentices first, and gets his ass summarily handed to him by a thirteen year old shanks, who both impresses and embarrasses mihawk, as shanks beats him without even trying but he's so cool when he does it.

and so mihawk declares himself shanks's rival, and when he wins, shanks will have to listen to a request. and years and years later, when mihawk finally does win, that request--which he's never changed his mind about--is permission to start formally courting shanks. charmed, and absolutely having seen this coming after years of observing an obvious crush and slowly warming up to it as mihawk grew and changed between their meetings, laughs and just kisses mihawk straight-up.

Give me a fic where Romione go to the past and raises baby Harry. Please. Like why do we not have any. My boy also deserves someone going to the past to save him, like really imagine baby Harry growing up with these two people who loves him unconditionally and will fight Dumbledore (fist fight even) for his safety. Imagine Ron teaching baby Harry to fly, while Hermione helps him with his homework. The first time Harry eats with them, he starts hyperventilating because he doesn't know if all that food is for him. Imagine, they both went to the past to save the world because their Harry is dead. Imagine, Ron nearly cried when Harry asked him if they will leave him because he is a freak. Imagine, a grown Hermione with her controlled ruthlessness dealing with the Dursleys. so james’ tattoos are obvs the antlers along his v-line, matching with sirius’ flower v-line tats, his gryffindor quidditch jersey number on his bicep, and then constellations across his chest for sirius and reg. regulus has stars tattooed around his moles, on his collarbone, arms, and back, all in slightly different styles, since some have been done by different artists and some have been done by his friends. he also has a sun over his heart with long rays reaching out across his body.

#open to other ppl’s ideas but personally i love this #saw a post like this for wolfstar (last reblog) and wanted to give my hcs for jegulus #i love tattoo headcanons #also if it needed more explanation #james isn’t super attached to his tattoos he got them for jokes (the antlers) and to make sirius and reg feel appreciated (constellations)#like he likes them but he was also fine not having tattoos #for regulus it’s actually therapy #the first tattoo he got was one sirius gave him with his personal tattoo kit #a star drawn around one of the moles and it was something they did as part of their reconciliation and bonding #and from then on reg would get a star tattoo around a mole to remind him of a friend or of a good memory #and a lot of the tattoos would actually be done by his friends barty and evan and pandora and eventually people like andy and cissa #so the quality varies #but the emotion is already real #and then he spent months designing the sun tattoo with james #james would help draw the stencil so not only is it a symbol of james but it’s his actual artwork as well #and everytime reg sees it he’s reminded how much james loves him and the effort and care he’s always happy to give #sorry brb crying #james potter #regulus black #marauders #jegulus

the sun is beautiful. he laughs at his friends' jokes and ruffles his hair when a red-haired girl walks by him. he hugs his friends, warm, strong arms and a musky scent. he makes a fool of himself when green eyes meet him, and he hangs upside down on his quidditch match, just to show that he can.

his fingers are stained with pomegranate, red and sticky. he's velvety and lovesick, and unapologetic and a beautiful, beautiful boy. he's a child in a body that is not his own; lanky and long, and he hasn't quite grown yet in the body of a man, because he's just a boy.

and the sun had started dimming. it had used to shine oh, so brightly, but, alas, darkness looms over his shoulder, thick like a fog, and the sun dims. he is still the sun, of course; bright, and warm, and full, spilling over the edges, droplets of him and of his love, too much, even for a big heart. he is still him, he is still james, an ego so big, but am even bigger heart.

but, in order for the sun to rise, it must dawn, and it must be dark first. he will rise again, though; the sun always does, doesn't him? the sun will not leave everyone in the dark; he always must come back, no matter what, no matter how.

but james potter had burned away, and what is left of him lies where one must seek to sed him again, now. he is no longer bright, he is but a figment of the bright, of the warm, of the sun he had once been.
