ElizaNeals: I would tell any young musician to play a lot of gigs and become the best performer he/she can become. Have something they do stand out from the rest. Write songs that are catchy test them out live on gigs for audience reaction. See how the reaction to their songs are received and fine-tune them. Hire a promo person in their genre to get them press and radio play. See where the music stacks up against the competition. It’s very helpful to get press and radio and see what the connoisseurs are saying about their sound. Being a responsible person comes with being responsible and we are responsible for what we are held responsible for. However, we are not responsible for anyone else’s behavior, their words or their actions . We often want to help people that don’t even want our help, not because they don’t need the help but because pride and arrogance blind them to seeing better. When someone refuses kindness, absolutely rejects it as being an insult , putting up a wall is done because in their mind they feel as if they have been made into nothing. As if they couldn’t do it on their own when really all you want to do is lift them higher. We must realize that people are dealing with many different layers of unhealed self deception. These unhealed parts that are reflections of their own life can reek havoc in your life if you don’t recognize what’s really going on. When people reject you, sometimes they are really rejecting what they wish they had. Give your self either permission rest and replenish or walk away.
