He seems to be losing more of his independent abilities and self-expression with each passing day. Most of my life I resented him but now I feel is gratitude. I’m grateful to this man for giving me the opportunity to become the person I am today. I am grateful that he supported me the best way he knew how. I’m grateful that I am able to have compassion for the hurt little boy that he was. Maybe it’s not so bad to forget. Maybe it’s really a divine experience to dwindle away in the happy place of now. Perhaps he doesn’t need to say a thing because now he knows and feels how divine everything really is. I’m not sure. I’m not him. Yes, it's Official! I celebrating 9 years sober today :) No ALCOHOL OR DRUGS! Thank you to all my friends and family for the support on my journey throughout the years, without you guys none of this would be possible! It hasn't been all lollipops and rainbows, that's for sure! But, I am living proof that it is possible to get and STAY sober, whether its from drugs, alcohol or both in my case. The joy is in the journey.

Last night i stepped out of my comfort zone and shared my story to a room of fellow alcoholics in recovery. My really good friend asked me to chair her meeting and i couldn’t say no even though i wanted to - I was terrified. I hadn’t shared my story at that level of transparency in years and i wasn’t sure i wanted to hear it again. The timing was especially difficult as I’ve been battling some heavy #delayedpostpartum #anxiety and #depression weirdness since Zoey and I️ ended our breastfeeding journey (that’s an entirely different animal in itself). But it was very cleansing to hear my story again and realize how far I’ve come and how much I’ve grown. It was so empowering to have people come up to me afterwards to tell me they can relate or that something in my story sparked a fire in theirs yet written.
