Fuck It Friday 🔅

I know majority of us are (rightfully) freaking out over the episode, and so it had be doubting if I should post this but I'm putting the fuck it in Fuck It Friday because I had a horrid week and I have been having this story to look forward to the entire time.

Okay actually,

probably the next chapter won't really be that bad. It's like the beginning of the bad.

well,

the beginning of them both handling things poorly because of reasons (trauma, the reasons are trauma)

But I really liked that lil morning moment at the end of the last chapter and I think part of me just wants them to stay there a little longer. Y'know? ANYWAY IT'S A HAPPY ENDING SO IT'LL ALL BE FINE (this is mostly for my benefit, I need a reminder)

FUCK yes they're getting my favorite end-of-day dialogue

the gorgeous and moving art that was made right after the finale out of sheer spite and defiance is something i still think about a lot

I think the way that Disco Elysium's dialogue and stuff is written really helps make it a rich experience. What do you think about it?

i ADORE the dialogue and writing style of the game, but i doubt that's a surprise lol. i'm a person who appreciates a lot of detail in writing, even if it seems irrelevant, so i love that the writing style often pauses a line of thinking to bring in details about the environment or the person you're speaking to or how harry is feeling or reacting to something. and i also love the passive check system that allows your skills to pass/fail minor pieces of dialogue- it really gives you an insight into how harry's mind is working, and what a "good" or insightful thought looks like for him vs what a "failed" or somehow flawed thought works its way into his brain patterns. also just the way that even if there are options that are mutually exclusive, there are almost always *options* when choosing what to say or do; even though it's really just a gameplay mechanic, it was worked so naturally into harry as a person that it gives such a cool insight into how he thinks and what he's dealing with mentally. there's genuinely never a dull moment in the game.
