ngl i’m getting the vibe the other anon is trying to prove that misha supports wincest and j2 fic because it, idk, proves something? meanwhile i think it’s very obvious that he was just being playful with the fandom. he’s not afraid to point out certain “taboo” topics but that doesn’t necessarily mean he’s a shipper himself lol
writing a fic about himself and charlie furthers this line of thinking for me. like “oh, this kind of thing is funny!”
but that’s just my own interpretation. maybe i’m wrong! i obviously don’t speak for the man 🤷♀️
there's reasons i don't believe that's what that anon's aim is here (but if so, well i can't help them)
misha's said various different things about winc*st but i think he genuinely doesn't care if you'd have a serious conversation with him about it
& yeah he definitely doesn't ship it
and yes i agree most of his comments and bits are very lighthearted like that

Not everything he's said about fic is a joke. You can find screenshots and posts of Misha recommending wincest on his tumblr, I think. I recall it was a pirate AU. You can see he's logged into his AO3 account on his computer screen. He did spontaneously write fic of him and Charlie, witnessed by many people. He is on AO3, he has read and written fic, and he's proven it many times. Just like he's here on tumblr and has shown he lurks in fandom spaces, yet many fans still refuse to believe it.

but i still can't tell if he's logged in or not? to me it looks like he isn't? edit: yeah i can def see he's not logged in here. again, i really don't see how that makes much of a difference since it's a (mostly) open platform
and well yes he has a tumblr and he has twitter so ofc he sees things, whether by algorithmic forces wrt twitter, but undoubtedly also bc he searches his own name
and i imagine he does lurk on tumblr sometimes but probably not as much as people tend to think (at least, i hope for him that's true)

i honestly find it so fascinating the way some folks in fandom speak with such certainty about things they can't possibly know the whole truth of -- like the difference between jokey jokes/sarcasm/being entertaining and sincerity can be confused i guess but making declarative statements to push a narrative without something solid or factual... idk, it just seems like taking lighthearted things waaaay too seriously imo. tone and context are always important (though unfortunately easily ignored)!
i already find it hard to state things with certainty that i DO know and have been confirmed multiple times lol
and i always find it a bit unsettling when people state spec in a really factual way cause it reminds me of when tinhat blogs take things too far and also the way people talk in spn internet cults

Misha does write fic as well as reads it. He has an account on AO3 and has attended an AO3 authors only event. He's said he only writes things that would never happen and he doesn't write destiel or cockles, but has written wincest and supposedly J2. He also, during a Gish stream I think, written rps with him and Charlie Capen. For reading he vastly prefers destiel, but he has also recommended at least one wincest fic. We don't *know* if he reads cockles and J2, but it's suspected that he does.
i was so confused for a min until i realized i recently reblogged a jokey post about misha and ao3
but okay since you wanna speculate, i'll say first of all we don't really know much of anything
we don't know if he has an account on ao3, for starters (at least not to my knowledge? not that it really matters, you can access a lot of fics and even write fics anonymously)
the screenshot he used for 100K destiel fics was a ss he stole from a fan
and then we have this
which he was invited to as a celeb and that's the extent of it
as for the other things he "claims" he's written, most of that was said as a joke (you can decide for yourself if there's any truth in that tho)
ultimately i don't really care enough about this i'm afraid. at least not until he says anything about it in a serious tone that i actually believe
but i do love that he is supportive of fanfic in general
