TW // some level of manipulatation/gaslighting? But like...in a lighthearted jokey way?

What if i just lied about my birth name. What if i told yall its Olivia after Olivia Benson because ky mum loves SVU? What if I said that it was on her list of baby names for that reason anyway? What if that was also a lie? But what if all of this is actually true? How would you know? Or what if my birthname was Sunny and i just changed one letter to make it Sonny? How would you ever know whats true?

It’s actually so funny that Jem canonically has no idea how eloquently he phrases things and is like Noo I’m not good with words 😪😓 and everyone around him is like. ??????? NO???

doing a re-read of the raven cycle and i have to say i find the use of the different character pov chapters fascinating, mainly in terms of ronan and his relationship to the gangsey.

like, in the raven boys, there’s no ronan chapters — we have to really depend on gansey (and sometimes adam) to tell us what ronan’s all about. it’s sort of a testament to how well they know each other. gansey knows ronan well enough to explain his actions and his way of thinking as well as slipping in glimpses of the ronan he used to know — which then sets up the dream thieves and us actually getting to see inside ronan’s head.

the dream thieves is where ronan finally has the opportunity to explain his actions and thoughts in his own pov, mainly because something so crazy is revealed to us on the last page of the raven boys. we dive in and learn about how ronan thinks and about his secrets and his past and “ronan’s second secret was adam parrish.”

and then, in blue lily, lily blue, we again have no ronan chapters. but this time, post second secret reveal, we have adam understanding and explaining ronan’s actions and thoughts. it shows just how much their relationship has deepened since the raven boys. this time we don’t just have gansey, someone who knew him before, to rely on, but also adam, someone who knows him after. even blue is starting to understand the functionality of ronan.

then it all comes to a head in the raven king: we have ronan chapters again because everyone has finally started to understand him fully. we get to see both how he is perceived and how he thinks. adam and gansey and blue all know him better — they’ve bonded and changed.

i don’t know if this exactly makes sense, i have a visual motor deficit so it’s much easier for me to put things to words out loud rather than written/typed, but i just wanted to put this out there.

Blood-Replenishing Potion - Replenishes the taker’s blood if they have been injured and lost blood

It had been an exhausting week. Normally Remus’s exhausting weeks were around a Full, with the hunger and the anger mounting up until the night the wolf got out, then the slow process of recovering from the transformation and the injuries. The full moon was two weeks away still, but they had been studying Werewolves in DADA that week and he just wanted to crawl somewhere and never come out again. All those hours hearing the professor teach them about how dangerous he was and his classmates asking more and more questions had really felt awful. Of course, the rest of the Marauders had done their best to disrupt the lessons, collecting a fair amount of detentions, asking silly questions to make him laugh or playing pranks on everyone. Even Lily, who usually fumed at their antics, had very seriously interrupted the professor asking if the Ministry of Magic had really never thought to sit down and decide the best course of action with the Werewolves and not only spout laws and restrictions without even involving them. Lily didn’t know about him, and he had appreciated her intervention even more. And now they had a whole essay to write about how Werewolves were in fact the most dangerous of all magical creatures. He had toyed with the idea of not turning in an assignment for the first time in his life, but at dinner Sirius had leaned towards him.

“Room of Requirement later on?” he had whispered in his ear. “We can get the bloody essay out of the way and then we’ll do whatever you want.”

“I don’t even have the will to decide what I want after a whole week of hearing how dangerous I am,” Remus had muttered.

He had agreed all the same, and was now pacing back and forth in front of the seventh floor wall. He got through the door as soon as it appeared, and closed it behind him with a sigh. It wasn’t the first time they met there, as probably most Hogwarts couples did (sometimes he wondered if the Room simultaneously created multitudes of smaller rooms for all the couples that needed privacy at the same time), and he had gotten used to the cozy bedroom in which he was now, with an endless supply of tea and chocolate by the fireplace.

“Pads?” he called.

“Here,” Sirius slowly got up from the armchair.

Remus swallowed. His boyfriend was barefoot, tight leather trousers hanging very low on his hips, a red dressing gown hanging open from his shoulders. His dark hair was slicked back from his face and his teeth looked different.

“What is this?” Remus asked as Sirius got closer.

“Essay research,” Sirius smirked. “Apparently another magical creature is as dangerous as the Werewolf, if not even worse.”

“Vampire?” Remus said, noticing Sirius’s sharpened canines before his eyes dropped again to his naked chest .

“Exactly. And I think,” Sirius’s hand wrapped itself around Remus’s tie, pulling him forward, and he lowered his voice. “A Vampire can tame a Werewolf any time he wants.”

“You think so?”

“I know so. Because you will be very good and let me take care of you until you forget this whole week.”

Sirius’s tongue licked a strip on Remus’s neck and his breath caught. There was a tug on his tie.

“Are we agreed?”

“Yes. Please,” tumbled out of his mouth way too fast.

“Good,” Sirius smirked, before tugging Remus to the couch. “Sit.”

Remus obeyed, warmth pooling at the base of his spine as he faced Sirius’s hipbones and the tattoos appearing over his waistband. Sirius cradled his cheek with his free hand before placing a single finger under his chin to raise it.

“Told you a Vampire could tame a Werewolf,” he whispered before straddling Remus.

Remus whimpered as his hands jutted to Sirius’s waist to drag him even closer while Sirius bent down and licked his earlobe.

“And what do Vampires do?” he asked, but it came out more like a moan.

“When I’m finished with you you’ll need Blood-Replenishing Potion to recover,” Sirius whispered, starting to suck on Remus’s neck.

i dont watch a lot of shows, but its been a while since i saw such an emotionally charged confrontation in a bl show. i believe great acting can elevate any confrontation scene (even if the conflict was contrived) but uh here, we knew this all along. we knew the pain was coming, i did, it was delicious, and braced for impact but i still am in shambles. wei lili packing random packets of food from the house for yuan, unable to focus on eating when yuan sits with that face, getting him to pass stuff just to talk to him. a resounding 'tell me, what's wrong?'. never have siblings been so real lol. also, i deeply appreciate the character of Sanpang, cause i think he's supposed to be the reflection of society, but in a far more gentler, loving way for he actually does care for both of them. lol he himself doesn't know 'what's wrong' exactly, just that something should be cause yk it's Wei Qian. also, he's far more nicer than in the novel i've heard. and not homophobic at the very least.

I don't know where to find the full issue/comics, but I do wanna see how Dark Cacao and Dark Choco reconcile, considering Choco isn't part of the cookies of darkness in this universe, and is actually a part of the main cast of heroes.

(actually, I don't know if this takes before or after his redemption, but I'm going to assume after because from what I can remember, Dark Choco existed long before Kingdom was ever established.)

When it’s Lily Evans but she always felt weird and out of place as a child so she associated it with her magical powers but then when she got to Hogwarts and finally met more people like her she learned that she’s not magical enough because she came from a non-magical home. Lily staying up at night with her head swirling with anxiety because everyday the distance between her and the muggle world grew and she had no connections and no family to back her up in the wizarding world so her future depended solely on her, Lily Evans but she she was beating herself up every time she gave a wrong answer in class, every time she didn’t get the highest score, every time she forgot an assignment. Lily Evans but she saw school as her only getaway to a good stable future so she stayed up studying while her friends were being teenagers and developed their personalities and strengthened their friendships, Lily Evans but she cared too much about everything and people didn’t really know how to talk to her because they were scared she’d splash out at them for saying the wrong thing, Lily Evans but she stayed friends with a terrible guy because he was the only one she trusted not to walk away, Lily Evans but she cried every time she saw a picture of her and Petunia before Hogwarts, Lily Evans but she locked herself up inside her room when she was home for the summer while her parents yelled at Petunia for being a bad sister and not rising up to their expectations and not doing well enough in school, Lily Evans but she was so scared to end up like her sister that she cried every time she said the wrong thing and was unkind, that she bottled up her emotions because she was so ashamed of them but ended up splashing out anyway and hating herself even more, Lily Evans but she never forgave herself for her mistakes, Lily Evans but she always missed her sister, Lily Evans but she lost her sister, parents and childhood best friend before the war even began and her life fell apart in the span of three years, Lily Evans but she thought James and his friends were playing some big joke on her every time he asked her out because she didn’t believe a popular guy like him could ever be interested in a plus sized girl like her, Lily Evans but she spent the majority of her life thinking she’s ugly so she sharpened her brain because it was the only good thing about her, Lily Evans but she loved Mary so much and had her heart broken so hard at such a young age, and she never got over the guilt of not being strong enough to carry her and Mary’s love and essentially giving up on them after everything they’ve gone through to get together in the first place , Lily Evans but when she was 16 when the force of her love began to feel like a burden, Lily Evans but she wanted to feel normal and loved so badly that she convinced herself she loved James as more than a friend even tho she wasn’t even into guys, Lily evans but she lost her parents before she even graduated and then had a baby at 20 in the middle of a war with a guy she only began understand what he truly meant to her, Lily but she tried so hard and fought so fiercely for a life she never got to live, Lily Evans but she wasn’t even fully an adult when she gave up her life to save the only thing she had left in this world- her son, whom she never got to hear speaking, never got to see growing.

My brain five minutes into a three hour exam

i think part of the reason that a lot of contemporary novels dont work for me is that a marriage plot just doesnt really create tension when your characters are renters with access to no fault divorce

I’m sorry for the person I’ve become since Florence and the Machine dropped her new single. I have spiraled in a place of AUs and new story ideas and they are coming out of my like word vomit now.
