Sasusaku Confession Head Canon

For a while, he had been consumed by the thought. As they rested under the shade of a tree in the heart of the forest, he mustered the courage to ask the question that had been lingering in his mind. The anticipation had been coursing through his body, building up to this spontaneous moment. "Sakura?" She hums in response. "As kids-- why did you love me?" Sakura looks at him blushing, Why is he asking me this right now? She thought to herself. She chuckles inwardly, feeling the awkwardness creep up within her. "Why are you asking me that question?" She laughed, her face bright RED. "Like how did you know?" He pondered over whether the path that led others to fall in love was the same for him. Doubts lingered in his mind as he wondered if what he felt went beyond love. He needed to understand the depth of his emotions and for how long they had been present. Did he feel this way since childhood? "Well I'm not even sure, but the closest thing to an answer I can give you is as a kid I used to get bullied for being ugly, imagine as a child being told you're too ugly and then devoting too much on how you looked. Well great I was pretty partly thanks to Ino helping me out and giving my confidence, but then everyone thought I would be incompetent because I was pretty. I already studied hard and would get good grades. I studied even harder to get perfect grades and proved myself to everyone that I was smart. Then I got that I was a pushover, I am like a doormat, letting people treat me however they wanted. I let my inner thoughts take over and I hurt people in the process. I don't think I ever really liked me much because of the people I was around. But when I'm with you, I like myself. I don't care about how I look, if I have to prove myself to you, or change anything about me. That's why I've been in love with you--"

As he cupped her chin and leaned in, Sakura's mind raced with anticipation of what was about to happen. But as his lips met hers, she was surprised by his gentle and tender approach. With a hint of hesitation, she responded with a bit more pressure, deepening the kiss and igniting a rush of excitement she had longed for. It was a moment she had dreamed of for years, but what she didn't know was that Sasuke had wanted it just as much. Her love for him was boundless, and she never wanted to burden or rush him into anything. She respected his pace and allowed him to take his time, even if it meant she needed to exercise great patience.

Although Sasuke had always harbored a crush on Sakura, she was the only person he didn't recoil from physically. He valued his personal space greatly, but with her, he wished for her embrace to linger. At first, he attributed it to their time on the same team, but he soon realized it was simply her presence that drew him in. As he trailed his hand down her face, over her shoulder and arm, she felt a trail of goosebumps form in its wake. His thumb grazed hers, sending chills down her spine and eliciting a swarm of butterflies in her stomach. It was a gentleness she had never seen before from him, especially after witnessing him tear others apart with ease.

Breaking away from the kiss, they rested their foreheads against each other's, both a bit breathless from the intensity of the moment. Flush-faced, they knew it was the perfect place and time for them to finally acknowledge what they both felt deep down.

"I love you, Sakura," Sasuke whispered.

Her heart skipped a beat as she looked up at him, waiting to see if she had heard correctly.

"I have always loved you. I will always love you." he repeated, sealing their connection with a promise of forever.

Please may I have a Fairy tail childhood fluff and tears scenario of when you (Gray's younger twin brother who is a sweet kid and all *he is a ice mage like his brother but his magic is slightly stronger than Gray's and this was long before he met Juvia and became her loving boyfriend*) first met Natsu when you and him were kids. Natsu found you crying alone by a big tree in Magnolia after you were made fun of for being kind and everything by the bullies. Natsu found you crying there when the Fairy tail guild was in a bit of frantic mode because you practically disappeared from the hall and Natsu..willing to help, actually managed to find you. You didn't know him because Natsu was a newcomer today which means he only joined today...and Natsu asked if you were alright when he stood in front of you. (Think of the scene from Naruto of when Ino had a flashback of when she first met Sakura and made friends with her when Sakura was crying alone because of her forehead ep 32). Natsu didn't think that your kindness was weakness or anything..and what he knew..the guild cares a lot about you enough to realise that you went missing.

No pairings in this..just Natsu becoming one of his friends like how the rest of the children around his age is..and bear in mind that you and Natsu met when you two were young children.

A Friendship of Fire and Ice

Reader: Male.

It happened again it's almost every day now so you should come to expect it when it happens. Yet each time it does your left in stock and tears each time it happens. It happened before you went to the Fairy Tail Guild Hall today.

Your older brother Gray wasn't with you when it happened as he had left earlier than you. So you were all alone when it happened like each every time it had happened to you before. It was always the same kids that decide to pick on you almost every day.

You hadn't told your older brother Gray about this yet as you didn't want to make him worry about you. Yet this is something related to why those kids decided to pick on you. They would always pick on you for being "too kind" and sometimes they would even call you "weak."

That couldn't be further from the truth as your older brother Gray and many other wizards in Fairy Tail. Had praised you many times for your amazing ice magic. Yet it went in one ear and out the other for you as you didn't think what they were saying was true.

No thanks to those kids who had picked on you almost every day for a while now. Being "too kind" and "weak" was all that was on your mind for a while now. It had started to affect you greatly and everyone else could see that but they weren't sure when was wrong.

Your older brother Gray was especially worried out of anyone. He desperately wanted you to tell him what was wrong and why you had a sudden shift in your behavior. It seems hiding it wasn't any use as you had made even more people than Gray concerned for you.

That's something you didn't want yet the question of "What's wrong? Please talk to me!" Was all anyone had been asking you as of late. You didn't want to talk you didn't want anyone to worry about you.

So when your brother Gray continued to ask you couldn't take it anymore and decided to run out of the Guild Hall. This only made not Gray but a lot of the other Fairy Tail wizards even more worried about you. But you didn't care and you didn't care about where you were running to.

All you knew is that you wanted to be left alone and for people to stop worrying about you. Eventually after running around for some time in Magnolia, you came across a big tree. You decided to sit down with your back to the tree.

You curled up your legs and started to cry thinking about everything that had been happening to you lately. You weren't sure how much time had passed since you ran out of the Guild Hall. But you didn't care you just wanted to be left alone for now.

After some more time had passed you had heard some footsteps but you didn't bother to look up and see who it was. You didn't care either as you just wanted to be alone.

The person walked closer to you and then kneeled down to you. "Hey M/N what's wrong?" It was Natsu one of your good friends. Even though you and his magic are opposites you two are close and get along well with each other.

You looked to see him as you rubbed the tears from your face eyes red from how much you've been crying. "Nothing..." You respond to him your voice barely above a whisper.

"That's not true and you know it now tell me M/N what's wrong?' Natsu said as he moved to sit next to you. " It's just these kids Natsu they've been saying I'm weak and too kind. They've been saying this to me a lot lately. Do you think it's true Natsu? Am I too weak and kind?" You said looking at him with a sorrowful expression on your face.

"What?!? Of course not M/N! You're one of the strongest people I know! And there's nothing wrong with being kind okay? Those kids they're just jealous they're not as strong or as kind as you are. So don't listen to what they have to say okay? Because it couldn't be further from the truth me and all the other Fairy Tail wizards know that."

Natsu spoke as he stood up and extended his hand to you with a smile. You took his hand and stood up with him with a smile on your face as well. "See that's much better! This is the M/N I know!" Suddenly you heard a lot more footsteps coming toward you and Natsu.

It was all your other Guild mates Lucy, Gray, Wendy, and Juvia. All of them were running towards you worried about you. "M/N" they all seemed to speak in unison.

They gathered around you worried about you from what happened earlier in the day. But they soon relaxed however as they saw the smile on both your and Natsu's faces.

"Don't worry I'm feeling all better now thanks to Natsu!" You smiled and all your other guild members were at ease with this. "You know what this means right? A group hug!" Natsu said as you and all your other Guild members embraced I'm a group hug together.

Okay, let's talk about the series finale of Shippuden, the ending of Konoha Hiden. Sai reaches out and holds Ino's hand in public, in front of all of the wedding guests... and then it immediately cuts to Sakura looking at them, all sad and shit. It's so karmic it's not even funny. I think either @lunaneko14 or @mythicalheartbeat talked about this, but holy crap Sakura looks so damn jealous of Ino, her "best friend" (whom Sakura betrayed in the first place just because she heard a rumor that Ino liked Sasuke and didn't even verify it with Ino before she dropped her — it's all right there in the flashbacks in Chapters 53-54), all because Ino has a man who loves her enough that he is holding her hand and openly declaring that they're an official couple while she is alone. It serves her right. After all the shit Sakura put Ino through — from dropping Ino over a rumor that she never confirmed (Chapters 53-54) to wanting Sai to call Ino "ugly" with a smug smirk on her face only to be pissed off AF when he instead calls Ino "beautiful" (Chapter 312) — Sakura absolutely deserves being alone at the wedding.

If you don't mind, can you post the official Viz manga panels from Chapters 53-54 and 312, as evidence? I hope it's not too much to ask!

Totally agree like even in her novel it shows Sakura being jealous of Naruto and Hinata's relationship even giving some digs at them.

What makes it even worse is that Ino kept her crush on Sasuke secret due to her friendship with Sakura. Like the anime alters it to make Ino look worse as if she was angry at Sakura liking Sasuke, but the manga actually has Ino brush aside her feelings towards Sasuke saying he is no big deal. Ino liked Sasuke, but didn't intend to ever tell Sakura that or compete with her over him that was true friendship only for Sakura to stab her in the back.

Ino was a great friend in fact I think the rivalry Sakura has with her over Sasuke is one sided with Ino only going along with it due to how Sakura ended their friendship over him. While Ino liked Sasuke, it didn't seem like she was as serious as Sakura when it came to pursing him almost as if Ino was willing to give way for Sakura.

Chapter 312

The thing that really gets me is the smug look Sakura has as Ino introduces herself. You can tell Sakura really wanted her to crash and burn when she shouldn't have any reason to hope Sai insults Ino her friend.

Its really double standard of Sakura, Ino is a great friend, but Sakura acts as if she got wronged just cause Ino happened to like Sasuke. Ino is always the one giving only for Sakura to take her for granted. If it wasn't for Ino Sakura would still be getting bullied and afraid to even show her forehead, yet despite everything Ino did for her Sakura treats her like dirt.

Sakura 100% deserved to be alone at Naruto's wedding and to have her marriage life be such a disaster with how she acts when it comes to Sasuke.

I just had a discussion with the honestly..Worst Sakura/SasuSaku hater I've ever seen. Truly.

They insisted on how Sakura only fell in love with Sasuke due to his looks (which truthfully, was never stated in the Manga) and that her love for Sasuke was always all about his looks - even in Shippuden.

So I told them that while YES her crush in the Academy isn't any different from the other girls, her crush developed into real love as seen with how she worried about his well being and how easily she picked up on his next steps or why he did certain things - like when she told him to disqualify from the Chunin exam because he was hurting and because she knew he was hungry for power because of his revenge (Sasuke recognized that was her reason too, which is a way to tell the readers what the meaning of this situation is). This kind of emotional intelligence and worry isn't typical if you're only crushing on someone due to their looks.

Yet, after all that they insisted she only loved him for his looks and they don't believe anyone could fall in love at first sight - despite me telling them that the love developed. So not only do they not believe in love at first sight (which is valid, I don't too) but also..deny the possibility of true love developing from a crush (Hilarious really. Sometimes I wonder if haters even read or think about what they write because denying BOTH means love doesn't exist at all).

There's so much more but honestly, most of it was just them spewing whatever nonsense to hate on Sakura (you know, the usual) but what really took the icing on the cake was how the person denied Sakura being bullied ("some students only insulted her in one scene because of her forehead"). THAT was nasty..Hating a character doesn't mean you should step down that much and be an asshole, dismissing certain type of bullying while calling other more extreme cases "real bullying" (they said she didn't have it as hard as Gaara and Naruto..Yuck.)

We saw the effect bullying had on Sakura: she cried, was insecure and scared of her bullies. We even saw her with wounds in the Manga when we got the first flashback of her and Ino. Just..incredible to see how people dismiss the type of bullying most common in our world in order to invalidate a character they hate. That stuff happens in our world too and it only invalidates those peoples mental scars. It's so gross.

But back to the point.

It's really illogical to claim Sakura only loved him for his looks because she still loved him even after not seeing his beautiful face for 3 years and when she wanted to kill him to free him from darkness, she couldn't do it because she remembered the old Sasuke. The Sasuke who was on her team. Not the "smoking hot" 16 years old Sasuke who tried to kill her. She loved him for his true self that she TRULY fell in love with in their genin days, not for who he was in Shippuden.

She proved her love to be real love with her wish for him to be happy. THAT started when she first saw his darkness in the forest of death.

Like Kakashi said, the only time you need a reason is to hate someone. You can't explain why you truly started to love someone, you may love certain traits but all that love really is, is the want to see the person you love happy & that's precisely how Sakura's feelings for Sasuke were portrayed which I find to be beautiful because the message of love healing mental wounds was something established in Naruto early on. Heck, that's what turned Naruto into the person he is.

It really isn't some hard to comprehend writing it's just that people hate a character so much that they fail to see such simple things as that despite it aligning with the message Kishimoto wanted to give. It's honestly sad because while I do think people can consume whatever media for their own reasons, it really denies Kishimotos abilities as a writer and IF someone watched/read Naruto for other reasons than character writing, then I honestly don't think they are in a position to make such assumptions about characters. Because of course people will not see Sakura's real love for Sasuke if all they ever did was hate on her and view her scenes the way they want to, not in the way the author intended them to be perceived.

This is a very long ask, but yes I agree with you.

Naruto got isolated and discriminated by an entire village after his parents DIED to save the place (his mother came from one of the main founding clans and he's dad was basically the president....) and he was used as a sacrifice to seal the moster who attacked them, with an law saying absolutely no one could tell him the truth about his nature or his parents, so what did Naruto do? He decided that everyone would fucking love and adore him in the future, which is impressive and creepy and king behavior coming from him 'cause he did it.

Sasuke got betrayed by the equivalent of a militar government that made his older brother kill their entire clan (in exchange Sasuke being the lonely survivor) and join a terrorist organization as a spy, (a fact no one knew because the government was shitty and corrupted as that); people proceeded then to tell him to get over it or pretended they knew who it felt, to which Sasuke answered by becoming a rogue ninja ready to make the entire shinobi system pay in blood for their failure to his clan, a plan that I find legendary on its own, but also terrifying and worrying (he deserves better).

Sakura got bullied when she was a child because she had a big forehead and it was bad enough for her to end up developing an alter ego that was perturbing to say the least, funny in occasions because what the actual hell that's a little girl, but the story just... never talked about it? She decided to train and become as strong and talented as she was pretty and smart, 'cause she was constantly told she was a burden or weak or not enough or useless, and one day the alter ego dissapeared??? But we never got an explanation??? Anyway.........

To this day I still think about how Sakura helped found a mental hospital for children, but never acknowledge that she had something... weird... going on in her head. 'Cause Sasuke and Naruto are fucked up and they have every reason to be like that, but I think only Ino knows about Inner...

what do you mean by salvaged? because it’s not only sakura’s actions that make her a bad character, it’s the whole package. sakura was mocked for her big forehead, but that didn’t stop her from being a bully. sakura was accepted by ino, who helped her build her own confidence, and she throws it all away because of a boy who never showed interest in her. she genuinely wants sai to call ino ugly, in public, basically humiliate her, she’s petty. sakura is an ungrateful person, to her parents, to ino, to tsunade, to naruto, basically everyone that genuinely cared about her. sakura’s character revolves around an onesided infatuation, she becomes worse with it, she insists on putting sasuke in uncomfortable positions, she objectifies him and doesn’t care about him as a person, as long as she “has” sasuke, his thoughts, happiness, anything don’t matter to her. towards sasuke she acts pathetic and humiliates herself trying to make him pity her, but when it comes to people that care about her, she sees herself as better somehow, all talking and no doing. all those things i’ve said have nothing to do with the fake confession or how her character progressed after it, the fake confession just showed what we already knew: that she doesn’t care about sasuke (and doesn’t bother with naruto either otherwise she would know something so basic about him), that she’s too self absorbed and makes it all about herself. i don’t even think you should change everything about her and make her flawless, she could still be mean and selfish and have no tact and be likeable, she could mean well and do harmful things and still seem like she genuinely cares about people, but that’s not the case, and her behaviour towards sasuke, her inability to accept his rejections is just a huge no for me

One thing that continues to baffle me is the fact that a vast majority of the world hates the character Sakura Haruno from 'Naruto' and yet the same people turn around and praise Katsuki Bakugo even though the two have very similar personalities, just different genders.

-Both have something they're obsessed with: For Sakura it's gaining Sasuke's affection even though it's clear that he doesn't love her. For Bakugo it's becoming the No. 1 hero and being the best.

-These obsessions lead to hurting others who their respective fandoms claim is close to them: For Bakugo it was Izuku and for Sakura it was Ino.

-They are both ridiculously insecure to the point of violent outbursts: Bakugo literally snaps at everyone in the entire world if he loses even though it's his own fault. Sakura smashed her house when Sarada slightly questioned her relationship with Sasuke in order to silence her.

-Both have terrible anger management and take out their frustrations on other people: This point speaks for itself.

-Both are incredibly insensitive: Bakugo demanded that Shoto should use his flames on him during the finals of the sports Festival despite stalking his way into the conversation that revealed why he hated using his fire. Sakura trash talked Naruto when the latter wasn't even there to defend himself and blames his behavioral issues on his lack of parents while claiming that he is lucky not to have any. Then later in the series, her confession to Sasuke was her comparing the pain of having Sasuke's entire clan massacred to her being incredibly lonely despite the fact that she has two living parents and friends.

-Both are useless to the plot and have nothing to offer: If you remove Bakugo from the story, nothing really changes. Izuku can easily have Shoto or anyone else to be his rival because of their different viewpoints. Bakugo literally has to be forced into relevancy in order to be included in a story he has no place in. Sakura has no significant backstory, nor any moments that create an impactful turning point in the story. You could literally remove her and put a rock in her place and the story wouldn't stray that far off from canon. Outside of Naruto and Sasuke, she is completely irrelevant.

-Both lack a clear or sympathetic reason for their goals: Bakugo's motivations for becoming a hero are beyond terrible. All we receive from him is the fact that he was born with a strong quirk and apparently that was enough for making the profession of hero appealing to them. It's clear he didn't do it because he wants to make a real difference. Sakura's affection for Sasuke is also very superficial as there was no spark or logical reason as to why she chased his love so desperately throughout the series.

-Both are volatile bullies: Again, this point speaks for itself.

-Both of their backstories just solidify that they're bad people: Bakugo's first scene in the anime was picking on a child that presumably had a weak quirk and then proceeded to beat Izuku up for daring to stand against him. This isn't even mentioning that he suicide baits Izuku for something as simple as wanting to be a hero. He obviously wasn't competing for the top spot like Bakugo believes. Sakura was bullied because of her forehead and was defended by Ino, who gave her confidence and calls her a beautiful flower. And yet the moment Sakura learned that Ino had a crush on Sasuke as well, Sakura's first response is to be threatened and ended her friendship over a boy who clearly dislikes her.

-Both are clearly unfit for their chosen professions: I won't even elaborate on this one.

-Both are given so much but they complain the most: Sakura constantly complains about her parents to Naruto (who doesn't have any) and even says that she wishes she could have parents who she could actually respect. Bakugo has a flashy quirk, two parents who are present, people who respect his dream, and is very talented (plus plot armor) and yet if anything annoys him even slightly, he is quick to explode in anger.

-Both are not as intelligent as people like to claim they are.

-Both are horrible friends and deserve to be alone.

-Both are shown to mistreat and discriminate against the main character of their respective franchise and even lead the charge at time.

-And much more that can't be named on this post.

I believe people are entitled to their own opinions, but it is something else entirely for someone to claim that Sakura is a horribly written character/bad person and then claim that Bakugo is this deep and amazing person even though it's very clear that they are more similar and lean towards being insensitive jerks who tear down everything in their way to get what they want. People who actually like Sakura usually say that people who don't are misogynists who I don't agree with because there are valid reasons as to why she is so hated. But the fact that most of the world hates a *female* character with a horrible personality but then stan Bakugo who is a *male* character and defend his every action despite the fact that he behaves in the same way she does, just screams sexism and internalized misogyny.

(PS I hate both characters by the way)

But I want to hear what you think.

So I don’t know much about Sakura outside of the memes so I can’t form an opinion on her. I will say that you nailed every reason why Katsuki sucks though and that I think Sakura is far more useful just cause she can heal. All Katsuki can do is hit hard and move fast, which he is outclassed by so many other characters if Hori would take off his plot armor for a single second.

For the character asks - Ino, maybe?

Favorite thing about them: Her looks. I know this sounds very superficial, to just focus on her physique, but I really like her design.

Her outfits, her hair, her personality are my favorite things about her (and her va in my original language is 👌🏼👌🏼👌🏼)

Something good that Kishimoto did is character design and I especially LOVE the design of his female characters, I can't choose a favorite.

Least favorite thing about them:

1.- Her Sasuke obsession

2.- This scene

Just why Kishimoto thought this was a good idea? It doesn't even make sense!

Ino barely interacted with Sasuke during the whole series, I understand that she had a crush on him when she was 12 but it's been 4 years since then and her reaction is to cry? Really? That reaction is more appropriate for Sakura and/or Naruto because they were on his team, they interacted with him almost daily, they were friends.

Ino and Sasuke didn't even speak to each other in fillers! I completely understand that his reaction wasn't indifferent, after all discovering that your classmate from when you were a child, that boy who was the best in the class, who was cute and his skills were quite impressive, the one who graduated with honors, the one you had a crush on is now officially a criminal and must be killed if seen. That really must be something.

But crying?

The only good thing about this is that all her friends are there to support her and i think that's so cute 🥺❤️🤲🏼

Favorite line: Tbh I don't remember much about what she says, but 2 of her lines that I like is that time when they show us in a flashback how she became friends with Sakura telling so bluntly her that they bully her because she has a big forehead.

Lmaooo It was so funny, but I really like how she turned something Sakura was insecure about (her forehead) into something she should show and not care what others thought about it. That was very sweet.

Another line I really like is that time after their chunin exam fight when Ino told Sakura that she had blossomed into a beautiful flower.

OTP: Sakura x Ino. Although I don't actively seek content of them, it's the ship with Ino that I like the most (although Sai x Ino is not far behind)

nOTP: I don't really have any ships that I dislike, the closest thing to a nOTP would be Ino x any of her teammates (is just that I can't see them with any other relationship but a sibling relationship)

Fun fact: When I first started watching Naruto, I thought Ino and Shikamaru ended up together.

And when I said this to my cousins (who are the ones that got me into Naruto) they were like: No????

Me: But they look so good together

They: No????

(and they were right lol I don't understand how my past self could think that)

Random headcanon: The only headcanon I have for her is that she liked Sakura as kids and when she (Sakura) said that she liked Sasuke, Ino got jealous and started to “like” Sasuke and compete with Sakura for her attention (all of this unconsciously).

Unpopular opinion: She is very powerful.

I need to remind you of all the things she did in the fourth ninja war? Just to name a few

She entered the mind of a pseudo jinchuriki allowing them to seal him (and by doing this he saved Shikamaru's life btw)

She combined her sensory abilities with her mind transfer jutsu which allowed her to share her sensory abilities with a non-sensor (Shikamaru)

She entered Obito's mind to deflect a Juubi's attack

Anyway, she may not be the strongest physically and we have to be honest, after everything I said I know that most of her generation would beat her in a fight, but she is a GREAT support ninja.

In fact, I can safely say that she is the second best sensory ninja in the entire series, only after Karin and sharing a place with Tobirama or being third place and Tobirama in second, I'm still not sure🤔

Honestly funny how some sakura stans say dislike ino for being "a bully" because idk she calls sakura forehead and called choji fat at 12 lol. Like their fave didn't regress to be a 13 year old in the finale, insulted her teacher (before getting slapped lol), canonically selfish too, basically stalked a dude into marriage. So a couple weeks ago I saw a pinterest post comparing Karin and Sakrua. For the most part Sakura was the happy one and having everything she ever wanted. A happy childhood, having people with her, being loved, getting the guy she wanted, you name it. But in the comments there were people saying that Sakura was a brat (because she is), and basically hating on her. And then someone had the audacity to say that "She's been through a lot don't hate on her!" (how I saw it). I was like huh? What the heck did she ever go through that was as horrible and painful as countless numbers of characters, Karin included. She never lost anybody, did she? She was accepted and loved. What did she go through that was so bad to say that she went through 'a lot'? Was it because she was bullied for having a massive forehead? I know that bullying isn't fun but come on!! Being bullied is 20 times better than watching your comrades and family being killed right before your eyes and being forced to watch. Being bullied is a lot better than being a complete outcast of society and being hated by everyone. Being bullied is a lot better than seeing the person you love so dearly being killed. Being bullied is a lot better than being abused and losing the only person you had. What kind of pain did she go through that was as bad as all those? And anyway, Ino helped her get through her insecurity. Her parents dis motivating her isn't cool I know, but at the same time they still loved and cared for her. She had EVERYTHING that Karin didn't have. Or she went through a lot because her Sasuke-kun didn't acknowledge her?

And I saw a post on Quora (SS stan). The first thing that I saw was that the person stated that 'Sasuke had c- ptsd and nEeDed SomEoNe tO lOve aNd aCcEpT hIM' My first thought was "Well what about Naruto? He accepted Sasuke didn't he? Wasn't Naruto ultra desperate to bring him back?" The funny thing is Naruto literally said that HE can be the one that SASUKE can COME HOME TO!!!! (idk if it was filler or if it's canon) And later on started posting the same manga panels of the Chunin Exam. And on one of them Sakura is doing that lover hand thing, and added another panel of Sakura hugging 'Sasuke-kun' before he went on a complete rampage and said that "ShE cAlMeD hiM DoWn." And that one time Sasuke held Sakura like a princess and set her down before she hit the ground. I mean, not that Karin is relevant in the Quora thing but... There was that time where Sasuke HUGGED her (it seemed that way at least) while saving her before she fell. Sakura-chan isn't so special, eh? He also saved Naruto not the way he did for Sakura or Karin but he saved him.

Anyway, I went overboard. I didn't mean the rant sorry!!!! but please tell what you think- thankies!!!

Yeah, Sakura suffered too much pain... Like Crying for no reason is what she did all throughout the series and that's what her fans are rabidly arguing about.

Here Sakura was shown to be crying rivers in her room... Alone. So, they headcanon that 'A Poor Girl is crying daily while passionately thinking about her loved one'....

I talked about Sasuke's PTSD here... Not at all Sorry for being Insensitive or my inability to indulge in Fandom's Headcanon or Theories or Assumption... But In this Entire Series, Tsunade was the only one to have explicitly shown to have PTSD, that could affect the plot in a way which led to her Character Transformation.

Tsunade was suffering from Hemophobia because of carrying the blood of her loved one on her hands which led to her becoming Immobile in dangerous situations. So, Kabuto started to beat her mercilessly using her Phobia against her. But after seeing Naruto desperately trying again and again to fight Kabuto, She finally collected her mental strength to overcome her Trauma and started to kick Oro like a football.

I know, the PTSD of Tsunade wasn't handled properly. But Hey, we can't be expecting a Therapist to cure this PTSD in an organic manner in narutoverse just like we have in out Real Life.

If Sasuke were shown to be like Tsunade or atleast hinted to have some fear, then I would've gladly agreed that claim. Okay, let me be generous, and agree to that fact that Sasuke was severely suffering from PTSD to the point he can’t even breath properly.

So what???

Does it means that Sasuke desperately needed Loooovvve from everyone??? No. He was suffering after the Massacre. Yes. And as a natural response, Sasuke was unknowingly looking for Happiness... And he actually got it.

But he never allowed himself to prolong that happiness. Slowly but surely Sasuke was healing on his own and by the time, the series had started, Sasuke was behaving like a normal kid as compared to Gaara at the same age. It’s not like Sasuke was asking for Love from everyone... He found happiness by himself. Sakura doesn’t have to provide him.

So, this Sakura’s suffering for Sasuke and Sasuke’s suffering needs Sakura’s Love is all just some poor Head canons.... whereas in Canon, these claims has nothing to back them up.

From the early age of nine, you couldn’t help but pinpoint there was something that made you stand out from rest of the girls in the leaf village. While your friends would gossip and talk about the boys they liked, for example Hinata had a huge crush on this goof named Naruto- a boy with blonde hair and whiskers on his cheeks, you’d find yourself staring at other girls, feeling intense butterflies in your stomach whenever you happened to come across one wearing a bright yellow summer dress with the certain pattern with daises all over it. You brushed off these feelings as nothing more than platonic, after all a girl couldn't like another girl that way right? To everyone’s suprise, you never felt attracted to the opposite gender, and you never understood how anyone could be.

There was this girl in the village, named Sakura. That girl, Sakura Haruno, has been your best friend for as long as you can remember. She had gorgeous pink hair and green eyes that reflected beautifully in the sun. Your moms were the best of friends before you two were even born, so it was only natural growing up you grew pretty fond of each other. You’d play house with her, always taking the lead of the role of the dad when doing so, brush and style her hair, help her fix her toys and even stand up for her when some bullies were making fun of her for her “big” forehead. Sakura kept telling you you were the best friend she could ever ask for, and that she would never need anyone else besides you. It made you feel at peace, and for the longest time you thought things would stay this way forever. You and Sakura hand by hand, skipping life's obstacles together. Everything was perfect, till puberty hit and Sakura fell in love with a little bitch boy named Sasuke and all of the sudden, you weren’t enough.

According to Sakura and Ino, Sasuke was anything a girl our age could ever ask for. He was handsome, skilled, talented and had a strong sense of determination. You wondered if someone came up with all of these. Because in your eyes, Sasuke Uchiha was nothing but an arrogant, annoying piece of trash that was slowly stealing your best friend away from you.

You started resenting Sasuke, and it didn’t help how you were assigned to be under the same group as him and Sakura. Other girls were envious of you- wishing to be in your place while the rest of the girls found it odd how you much you disliked him, but they brushed it off as you being protective over Sakura. Never once had it crossed their mind that the reason you never had a boy crush, why you always blushed whenever Sakura touched you longer than intended, why you relished being the center of attention around the same gender, was because you in fact, you liked girls.

You were almost relieved when Sasuke left the village. But even that didn’t make Sakura give up on the troubling boy. You could still see how her eyes glimsed whenever he was brought into the conversation, a way they would never glimse when she was talking about you. Because, in fact, Sakura didn’t like girls.

It took you years to come with terms with your feelings. The reason why you cringed whenever the idea of a husband and a family was brought up, why you’d always feel nervous when Sakura asked you innocently take a bath together, why it felt more right to make your dolls kiss each other instead of one of your brother’s action figures, was because you had always been in love with Sakura. You didn’t hate Sasuke, you were jealous of him. Because he had everything you ever wished for, unlike you. The girl you loved.

Because no matter how cold the truth really is, Sakura has always been straight.

Sakura's Forehead

As a child , Sakura was insecure of her huge forehead, she was bullied and teased because of that. Her forehead was something she wanted to hide . It had lowered her self esteem and self confidence.

I think her forehead symbolises her fear and insecurities she wants to hide , and Ino asking her to show off her forehead, possibly means that she is encouraging her to live with what's she's got , be confident of things she have and also appreciate it, so others do not dare make fun of her.

Her forehead , highlights important things in her life. How the meaning of her huge forehead has changed over time and so as she changed as person.The forehead she use to hide and loath became something she is proud of.

🔖Her first friend & Self Confidence:

After meeting Ino , befriending her and taking her advice , Sakura became more confident of herself. She doesnt hide her forehead . She isn't shy girl anymore who can't speak for herself. I think this is the first step , which boosted her low self esteem and self confidence. Ino helping her with the insecurity regarding her forehead , made them friends.

🔖 Symbol of her hardwork and training.

Again her Forehead symbolises all the hardwork and training she did in past 3 years with Tsunade. Byakugou Seal she achieved is a symbol of extensive training she did , it also signifies the change in herself.

From a girl who was a dead weight to her team , the one who was useless and couldn't do anything for her team ,most of the time , has become the one who fights with them together. She isnt the weak Haruno Sakura , who use to watch back of her teammates always.

The seal on her forehead, reflects her will, to become strong , her will to protect the people she loves , her will to be walk hand in hand with her team and not to be carried by them.

🔖 Symbol Of Love

We all know the significance of Forehead Poke, in Sasuke's life. I think even Sakura , regard it as something important to her , something she cherishes as a sign of acceptance of her affection and reciprocating it by her life long crush , and now husband.

I doubt the first time ,Sasuke poked her forehead she knew the significance of it , but I am sure she understood the intentions behind it. It's the memory she held dear to herself , an act which gave her hope. Even after getting married and having a kid , it's something “better than kiss" for her. Even now , the forehead tap is something that is a sign for their connected feelings for her , and an act that reassures her when Sasuke is out for missions.

But then he

continued: I'll see you soon.

Thankyou...

And he poked my forehead.

"I'll see you soon." "Thank you." I repeated those words over and over again in my heart. Along with that I remembered sensation of that poke.

We started at "You're annoying," and we've made it all the way to "I'll see you soon." My heart feels a little warmer somehow when I think about it like that.

You were always more of Hinata’s friend than Neji’s and Neji preferred it that way. You were a stark contrast compared to the infamously a severe man of few words. But even so, Neji truly never minded your presence; it was just simply one that he never particularly preferred. So when you let yourself into the Hyūga compound’s courtyard to ask him and Hinata for dinner, Neji became uncharacteristically taken aback.

“Well, I know it’s short notice, but I’m inviting everyone out for dinner tonight. My treat!” You chirped. “I was hoping you’d join me.”

Neji’s lips formed a tight line as he shifted his gaze to Hinata. Social engagements were never Neji’s forte, but he was in enough of an agreeable mood to leave the decision up to Hinata. You rocked on your heels expectantly in front of her.

“Maybe?” Hinata squeaked out and you beamed brightly, clicking as you did so. Neji shook his head at your reaction to the noncommittal response. How you could ever find enough positivity to smile about in such a weak answer made him wonder.

“Well if you can make it, it’ll be at Shushu-ya. Seven o’clock, okay?”

You left as quickly as you came and Neji continued training with Hinata. But not too long after you left, they were interrupted once more.

Kiba hurried into the courtyard with Shino not too far behind. Hinata interlocked her fingers behind her head as she tried to catch her breath again. Neji gave her modest praise for her work and decided to end training for the day given their many interruptions. Hinata’s frosted-over eyes widened with joy as she smiled at her teammates.

“Hey, Hyūga twins!” Kiba pointed finger guns at the two nobles. Hinata let out a courteous laugh. Neji crossed his arms over his chest, unamused. “Are you coming with us to Yakiniku tonight?”

Hinata looked down.

“Yes, of course.” She spoke quietly. Neji took a quick glance between the members of Team Eight. He cocked a brow.

“Don’t you mean Shus-”

“Nope!” Kiba interjected. He locked eyes with the eldest Hyūga. “Yakiniku.”

Neji let out a sharp exhale, a hand coming up to his temple. He weighed the consequences of challenging Kiba, but ultimately decided to keep quiet. If there was a problem, you would handle it, You were your own adult. You were a competent ninja. And most of all you were more Hinata’s friend so it wasn’t like he cared.

Neji came through the doors to Yakiniku Q first. The whole team had arrived a half hour early, because when Rock Lee is early, his whole team is early. Lee bolted through the entrance to a table he deemed long enough for everyone. Tenten sighed to herself and sat down at the opposite end. Neji ordered a round of tea and took his place near the weapons user.

He sat, legs crossed, in his quiet corner as he sipped his tea. The bell on the door rang signaling three new arrivals. Neji silently observed the room as it began to fill. Hinata and Shino greeted him quietly and took their seats at his end of the table. Another ring and Sakura and Sai joined. Sakura took it upon herself to order a few plates to grill. With each jingle of the bell above the door, he expected you. Neji shook his head. He inwardly scolded himself for mixing your clicking up with the chime. Surely, that was the reason.

He found himself studying Shino in order to take his mind off of you. Shino looked lost as he helplessly scanned the room. The bowl of rice in front of him remained untouched. His eyes settled on the meat grilling of the table. Shino lifted a hand to his chin before he abruptly stood. Neji took a sip of his tea.

His sharp eyes followed Shino as he left the table. Kiba came in front, stopping his teammate with a hand to the chest.

“I know what you did.” Neji read on Shino’s lips.

Neji exhaled sharply to himself, the pieces coming together in his head. He diverted his attention from the rest of the exchange and turned to his own bowl of rice. The bell rang out and Team Ten arrived. Shikamaru assumed Shino’s old seat.

“So,” Hinata grasped her tea with both hands. “Shikamaru how was your day?”

Shikamaru didn’t answer. Instead, he appeared as lost in his rice as Shino had been. Hinata let out a nervous laugh as the group at the end of the table began to stare at Shikamaru.

“His head’s been up in the clouds all day, don’t mind him.” Ino’s voice briefly snapped Shikamaru out of his thoughts. He grunted and a laugh went around the table. Neji studied him out of the corner of his eye.

“Hinata asked how your day was.” Sai leaned to tell him. His face remained stoic, but a sparkle of amusement shone in his eyes.

“Ah, sorry,” Shikamaru drawled, “I’ve been alright.”

With that, the conversation quickly moved on. Neji plucked a few pieces of meat from the grill. He brought his chapsticks to his lips, but paused. A sinking feeling gnawed at his core. The image of your chiper face asking him and Hinata to dinner flashed across his memory. The barbecue lowered onto the pillow of rice in his bowl.

“Wait.” Shikamaru’s head snapped up. Neji looked away, bringing a slice of meat to his mouth. He had every intention of ignoring whatever it was the Shikamaru was going to say, but what he said next made Neji stop mid-chew. “Where’s (Y/N)?”

As soon as the words left his lips, Shikamaru was out the door. The table fell silent.

Neji brought a hand up to his temple. All talk of you ceased after that, but Neji couldn’t help the pang of guilt that reverberated in his chest. The feeling ate at him and continued to eat away at him until the group decided that they were full and began to discuss the next thing they wanted to do that night. The incomplete Konoha Twelve poured out of Yakiniku, gabbering about some odd activity that Neji didn’t bother catching.

“You are not coming with us?” Lee questioned.

“No, thank you. I’ll be turning in.” The members of the group who had not already gone ahead cooed in disappointment, but didn’t push the Hyūga further.

Neji went his separate way, fully intending to head straight back to the compound. But he once again felt that pang. He stopped in the middle of the street. Neji frowned and pinched the bridge of his nose. With a huff, he turned on his heel. He was off to find you.

Neji found you standing with Shikamaru outside. Shikamaru had offered to walk you home, but you politely declined. He had already done so much for you and you didn’t want to put him out. Shikamaru opened his mouth just to argue with you when Neji appeared. You looked over your shoulder.

“Oh Neji! I’m sorry, you just missed dinner.” Your features drooped in genuine apology. Shikamaru gave the Jounin a pointed look. Neji returned with a look of subtle understanding.

“I apologize that I could not make it earlier.” He opted. He gulped before clearing his throat. “Do you mind if I steal you?”

“I mean, we were just about done so I don’t see why not.” You smiled up at Shikamaru who allowed the corners of his lips to upturn.

“I should be going anyway.”

“Thank you for everything, Shika!” You smiled. Looking down at your face, Shikamaru couldn’t help but return your expression. His eyes traveled from yours to Neji and the pleasantness retreated from his features. He gave the other Jounin a look of warning.

“Of course. Happy Birthday.” He told you, gaze locked with Neji.

You didn’t notice the emphasis as you waved your friend off. Instead, you turned back to Neji. You beamed at him as he inspected you and once again, Neji wondered to himself. He scowled at your batted eyelashes. You were ditched by your friends on your birthday but you still stood in front of him with a smile.

Neji took a step closer. You flinched as his hands reached up around your head. He grasped your hitai-ate and pulled it down over your eyes.

“Um… Neji?” You peaked out from under the thin sheet of metal.

“I have a surprise for you, do you want it or not?” He glanced down. Neji sighed. “I have something that I wish to show you if you would let me.”

You nodded and let him tighten the hitai-ate around your eyes.

Neji led you down the street. Your vision was pitch black beneath the blindfold. You stumbled, only to be caught by a sturdy set of hands. Neji laced his fingers around yours. You felt him gingerly wrap his arm around your shoulder as he guided you. The two of you continued on.

You faltered when you stepped off the pavement. The steps you took were careful but Neji gave you all the patience you needed. Neji stopped you and went around behind you to untie your forehead protector. As it gradually slipped off, Neji’s surprise was revealed to you.

“The Hyūga clan’s secret garden,” He told you. Your hitai-ate came to hang around your neck. “These are sacred grounds upheld by Hyūgas for generations.”

The azaleas were in full bloom. Hues of red, pink and white littered landscape in between stone fixtures. Petals flurried in the wind, wrapping around the flaps of your qipao. You wandered deeper into the garden in awe. The garden looked like a dream. You ran up to the bridge that arched over the small pond. A wisteria vine wrapped itself around the handrails. You looked out over the lotuses that bloomed in the water. Neji stood next to you as you gazed out at the view.

“Do you enjoy the garden?” You turned to him, eyes sparkling. You clicked.

“Yes! I love it.” You turned back to the dancing petals in the wind.

“Well, good.” Neji straightened his posture. “You’re always so excitable. Clicking at everything you might as well have something worth the excitement.” He scoffed. “I don’t quite understand it.” You giggled as the Hyūga rolled his eyes. He glanced down at you, frowning. “See? This is exactly-”

“Neji?” He stared into your wide, joyful eyes.

“Yes?”

“Thank you.”

I gotta be honest: I'm not particularly fond of Sakura and Ino's friendship during some parts of og Naruto. I get it that Ino helped Sakura gain confidence and find herself, but I also find it weird that Ino of all people, would decided to make fun of Sakura by pointing out al of her insecurities.

She insulted Sakura by pointing her forehead and saying it's huge and ugly, didn't she approach Sakura precisely because people made fun of that which happens to be her biggest insecurity? It's so contradictory. Also the behavior Ino displayed like she was the best and that Sakura would never beat her or surpass her to the point of calling her a crybaby, didn't Ino approach Sakura also because she was a crybaby due to lack of confident stemming from the bullying?

Maybe I'm self inserting a little bit but if my best friend knew my insecurities, no matter how much I overcome them, it would hurt tenfold if they came from her. It's something I really dislike about her.

I get it that by 12 Sakura was already past those names but it's so odd coming from Ino. To the point of Sakura really needing to punch Ino in the face so she could wake up and realize that her tag along wasn't having none of her bullshit.

In the manga later there are no more name calling from Ino, even in the anime it's obvious that it's not as serious as in og and that it's more of a joke than actually trying to hurt Sakura. Their friendship later is okay but more moments of them actually being friends were so needed.

They were both 12 year old kids at that point who were no longer the friends they once were; they were rivals now. You're saying that you weren't fond of Sakura and Ino's friendship during some parts of OG Naruto, but what they had during the specific parts you're referring to was not a friendship, it was a vitriolic rivalry; they were always calling each other these bitter nicknames like "billboard brow" and "Ino-Pig", so I don't think you should be taking the behaviour and attitudes of either of them during that time too seriously, because by no means was it reflective of their actual friendship, which they resumed following their fight during the Chuunin Exams.

They had a new neighbor coming. It’s been a while since the house across from them has been empty and now there are big moving trucks around the house. He peeked through the window and was disappointed because he didn’t see a boy his age, but a girl. He’s heard of cooties and he didn’t want them.

On the weekend, his mother invited the new neighbor to have dinner. He went with his mother to greet them at the door. He saw the pink haired girl hiding behind her mother, only peeking to see his mother. Her mother said something about she's shy and she was bullied in their last neighborhood.

“Hey Sakura. Your name is Sakura right? You have such wonderful hair” said his mother.

Then, the girl stepped a bit closer and the widest, greenest eyes he’s ever seen looked up to his mother and gave a firm nod and said “You’re very pretty”. His mother laughed and guided them in.

They had dinner that night, the 7 of them, and he didn’t know why he kept looking at those green eyes. He thought he wouldn’t really mind getting cooties.

12 years old

She was working on her homework in the living room, this damn physics homework that Kakashi-sensei gave last minute for Monday. She thought Sasuke might have finished already and thought of going to his house when her mother called,

“Sakura, come to the kitchen for a bit please”

“What is it, mom?”

“I baked too many cookies for my exhibition tonight. Can you give this bowl to Mikoto’s house?”

“Oh sure, was gonna go there anyway to ask Sasuke about my homework. We keep some too, right?”

“Of course honey”

She went across and brought her notebook with her and knocked on the door. When it opened, it was Sasuke.

“What are you doing?” He asked.

“My mom baked too many cookies and wanted to give it to Aunt Mikoto.”

He grabbed the plate and muttered thanks and almost closed the door-

“Wait!” she brought her best puppy eyes, looking hopeful “I also wanted to ask about the physics homework” she lifted her notebooks in front of her face to emphasize.

After a sigh and a fine, he opened the door wider and she went in. “Where’s everyone else?” She looked around for people and saw no one. “Out.” She chuckled “Always the sociable one” he rolled his eyes to that.

They went to his room and worked on the physics homework on the small coffee table in his room. He taught her the questions she couldn’t answer.

When they were finished, she couldn’t help but say what she’s been thinking,

“Do you think we’re being too casual?”

“What do you mean?”

“I don’t know- you’re a boy, i’m a girl, we’re in your room” she chuckled.

He rolled his eyes and smirked “would you rather be in my brother’s room” he knew about how she admired his brother.

“Ugh, you know I only admire him. It’s never anything like that” her elbows on the table and she rested her head on her hand and thought out loud “I think I’ve grown out of it though” their eyes met. There’s this look in his eyes and they stayed like that for a while just looking at each other.

She broke it with “especially since shisui’s been here more often” she rolled her eyes “they’re insufferable”. He chuckled. Then, his door suddenly opened,

“Sasuke, where did these cookies co- oh, Sakura! I heard your mom and dad are out for her exhibition tonight. Have dinner with us?”

“Sure, aunt Mikoto”

“Great! I’ll cook your favorites” she stayed for a while looking at the two just grown kids and frowned “Should I be worried?”

Sasuke raised his eyebrows and asked “what do you mean mom?”

“You’re a guy and a girl in a room.. should I-”

He groaned, “Stop mom, it’s nothing like that”

Sakura just chuckled and couldn’t help but notice the disappointment she felt. She tried not to think too much of it.

She didn’t notice Sasuke’s eyes who kept glancing her way during dinner.

15 years old

He heard whispers in the kitchen. Not unusual as his mother and father are the calm and quiet type, but this time there’s some wariness in their voice.

He was going to go to Sakura’s house to check why she wasn’t in school, but went to the kitchen first anyway. His parents immediately noticed and his father said,

“Sasuke, get ready. We’re going to go to the hospital.” Their faces showed that this wasn’t good news.

“What’s wrong?” His minds are racing

His mother was the one who answered, “Uncle Kizashi.. he was in an accident this morning and.. it’s not looking good”

Always the one-tracked mind, he didn’t say a word and ran to his bike to go to the hospital. He went ahead and as he arrived, his eyes immediately found Sakura alone near one of the rooms, eyes red and puffy.

He went closer, in a hurry, and fuck she’s been crying and she noticed him and she immediately went to him and reached him and she just let it all out, hands around his waist and head on his chest. His arms circled her, his cheek on her hair and they just stayed there.

After she was a bit calmer she realized that they were hugging. She felt awkward and let go, eyes averting his. She could blame the red face from crying hours on end.

“How is he?” his hands on her shoulders and he wanted her to look at him and he leaned closer.

She sniffled and said “His condition’s already stable, but… he’s not waking up” she teared up again and her hands went up to dry it off “I don’t know what to do, Sasuke”, for the first time that night she looked at him when his mother and father arrived,

“Oh, Sakura” his mother went to hug Sakura and his father knocked on the hospital door.

He noticed that Aunt Mebuki had been crying too and for the first time he also didn’t know what to do. No loud laughs and corny jokes, it was terrible.

He stayed with Sakura while the adults were talking and when they were about to leave, Aunt Mebuki said that Sakura should also go home and rest. After a few minutes of i’m staying, mom and i’m not leaving his side mom, no way, they were finally able to convince her to go home.

He went home alone on his bike while Sakura was with his parents. Later, he waited on her sidewalk. After they arrived, he shared a look with his mom and his mom nodded as if saying do what you need to do.

That night, Sasuke took care of Sakura. He made sure she ate (sakura, don’t be annoying, you have to eat) and left after she was already asleep (i’m here sakura, just rest, okay.)

The next morning, he and his parents were having breakfast when suddenly, his mom said, “Sakura is really pretty, right Sasuke?”

Sasuke looked at his mother and why does it sound like she’s teasing me and he scrunched his eyebrows and looked at her weirdly.

“She’s intelligent, top of her class, very pretty, I heard she’s popular with the boys in school too-,” he frowned “-and she seems like a great daughter, right Fugaku?”

“Yes, she is. What are you doing Mikoto?”

Mikoto chuckled and said, “No, no, it’s nothing. I’m just thinking that Sasuke and Sakura’s wedding should be in winter so that Sakura can stand out”

He choked on his cereal and said, “Mother.” he looked at her teasing smile and narrowed his eyebrows, “Her father has just been in an accident, Mother”

She frowned and said, “I know.. I hope Kizashi can wake up soon so he can give her away on the wedding”

He looked to his father for some sanity only to see his father agreeing to what his mother’s saying. He stood up and left to go to school. Just when he was at the door he heard his mother shout “Say hi to Sakura for me” and he groaned.

At school during lunch, he can’t help but glare at every boy who went to Sakura’s side. Naruto teased him, “you’re such a coward, Sasuke. All those glares, but no confession”, shook his head, “y’know, maybe I should have a go with Sakura instead”, teasing with his big grin and his wiggled eyebrows.

Naruto went home with a bruise on his arm that day.

18 years old

“God, I can’t believe graduation’s coming and you’re still single, Forehead”

“Shut up, pig.”

They were in Sakura’s room fiddling around with makeup and their dresses to wear to prom that weekend. She was just trying out her shoes when she saw Ino’s teasing smile and saw what was coming,

“Well, it’s not like there’s no one, right Sakura?” Ino sighed, “why is he not doing anything, you guys are clearly acting like you’re going out, but, just without the label” she rolled her eyes.

Sakura shook her head and said, “It’s nothing like that Ino, we’re just really close.”

“Nuh-uh, remember last week at lunch. That lanky boy was definitely gonna ask you out to prom but Sasuke glared at him from behind you and the boy ran away”, she chuckled, “Sasuke’s gonna be one scary boyfriend”

Sakura laughed, “Mmm I think that’s just him being protective, you know how he is with me, we’re childhood friends”

Ino sighed again, “Fine, whatever. But everyone can feel this tension between you guys, with the staring and all, it’s ridiculous, and it’s clearly not you two being” she finger quoted “just really close, or” she finger quoted again “just childhood friends”.

Sakura laid on her bed and sighed, “You know how I feel, Ino. but, with him you can’t really tell, you know. and our friendship is too valuable anyway.”

Ino shook her head dramatically “Oh, the most cliched reason for a coward”. Sakura threw her pillow at Ino while she was wearing lipstick and oh no, you didn’t and she lunged towards Sakura with lipstick on her hand.

“Sasuke, you going to prom this weekend?”

His brother, Shisui, and some of his brother’s friends are hanging out at their study room turned game room. He just nodded at shisui’s question, barely looking at him, staring at the TV with Sasori beating Itachi in their game.

“You taking Sakura?” Sasuke muttered no and it’s none of your business. He was going to leave the room. But then he heard Sasori say “oooh, Sakura’s that hot chick across your house, right Itachi? Is she single?”

Sasuke glared and said “Itachi, let me play.”

After beating Sasori three times, he said nothing and left the room. Itachi and Shisui laughed and shook their heads and you just woke up the devil, Sasori. Sasori learnt that Sakura was definitely not single.

That weekend, they were having breakfast together. Ever since Kizashi’s accident, Mikoto would sometimes invite Mebuki and Sakura for breakfast or dinner. He was still in a coma in the hospital and Mikoto just couldn’t help but reach out to them.

“Sakura, you’re going to go to prom tonight right? Are you going to go with Sasuke?”

Sakura casually said “Yeah, of course,”

and Sasuke choked and tried to remember, did I ask her and forget, dammit dammit dammit.

“-We’re going together with our friends. Since there’s two of us here, our friends are gonna come to our houses to get ready”

he sighed internally and thought of how stupid he was and why did I panic and felt a pang in his chest wishing that they were going together together.

“Are you okay Sasuke?” his mother asked and he just nodded, barely looking at everyone else. He was always one to keep his straight face.

That night he went to her house, along with Naruto, Sai, and Neji and his eyes widen as he saw her walk down the stairs and she’s so fucking pretty and he wished they were going together together and maybe I can just ask her now and maybe they can-

“My pretty daughter” Aunt Mebuki clasped her hands with some teary eyes “-I just wish your father can see you tonight,” Sakura smiled but he knew that smile and he just wanted to hug her and maybe I can and-

“Let’s take pictures!” fuck.

After some pictures were taken they went on their limo to prom and he just couldn’t, he really tried, but he couldn’t take his eyes off her. He didn’t really care anymore if anyone noticed. He didn’t care if she noticed cause she’s just so beautiful. He caught her eye and her eyebrows raised, questioning, and he just smiled. She blushed and averted her eyes and she’s so pretty.

Later that night, they were the last to be dropped off. He noticed that she was quiet all the way home and he was quiet too and it felt like there’s this thing between them ever since their dance and any wrong word can just break it and he didn’t want that. He noticed her glancing his way and he wanted to ask but he didn’t know how and the limousine stopped.

He walked her to her door and he just stared at her and she stared back and he wanted to say something, anything-

“thanks, sasuke”, she averted her eyes and turned around and almost walked to the door, but then his body moved on its own, and his hand caught her wrist and she turned back and their eyes met and-

“Sakura, I-” he pulled her closer and muttered fuck, i’m not good with words and he leaned closer and he stared more at those eyes, those beautiful, beautiful eyes, his hand travelled to her neck and finally, finally, their lips met.

It started softly, hesitantly, chastely, and in seconds, she kissed him back, her arms around his neck, and he grew more confident and his hand curled around her neck, he pulled her in and he kissed her deeper.

They parted for air with their foreheads touching, his thumb stroking his cheek, “You’re so beautiful,” she blushed and she didn’t know what to say and just bit her lip, his eyes flickered to her lips and he groaned and then his body moved on its own again and their lips met for the second time that night.

They didn’t notice three pairs of eyes across the house peeking through the window, “Well, Mebuki, we should start planning that winter wedding”

20 years old

It was summer and they were back at home from college and their mothers have been more strict about them being in the bedroom together ever since they started dating, so they were in the living room of his house, watching a movie.

Their relationship felt like a breeze and Sakura was just so happy and Sasuke was, I can’t believe I didn’t confess sooner and when their friends found out they were all saying finally, free of the tension and the eyesmex.

They had fights like all relationships do but Sasuke just couldn’t stay away for too long and Sakura would always be forgiving.

They were going to have dinner at Sasuke’s house, but when Mebuki came, she was teary eyed and she didn’t speak for a while, and

“Mom, what’s wrong?” Sakura went to her mom and she panicked.

“Your dad.. He woke up.”

Sasuke said I’ll go with Sakura and they all went to the hospital.

They arrived first and went straight to his room and Sasuke didn’t want to intrude so he stayed outside.

“Sakura, is that you?” and she ran to him and hugged him so tightly and she didn’t want to let go. Five years, finally.

“Sakura, you’re all grown up.”

She recounted, the best she can do, of everything that’s happened. Mebuki arrived and they hugged, three of them, reunited. After a while, “Why did Sakura arrive first? Are you driving yet? Damn, I can’t believe I missed teaching you how to drive” Mebuki laughed and said “No, she went with her boyfriend”. Sakura groaned, embarrassed.

“Wait, is she and Sasuke finally going out? I have to hear this story, they were so oblivious” Loud laughs fill the room and Sakura didn’t care about any of the teasing and she just felt grateful that her dad’s back and that’s all she can think of.

——-

Later in the month, Kizashi was released from the hospital and they all planned a trip to the Uchiha Family cabin near the mountains to have a good rest with the hot springs and all. There were two separate cabins and Kizashi said one for the grownups, one for the kids- what Mebuki, let them have fun, we were young once. So Sasuke and Sakura were with Itachi and Izumi, his wife, and Shisui came just because he couldn’t miss out.

Everyone wanted to go to the hot springs, but Sasuke and Sakura said no, we’ll just play or hike or something and so they stayed in the “kids” cabin and they do have separate bedrooms but-

“Sakura, come” he took her hands,

“What is it, Sasuke”

“Just come here”

She followed him to his bedroom, and when they were in, he closed and locked the door and he pushed her against it and they just stared at each other and smiled. She broke the silence,

“Mm, don’t you think we’re being too casual, Sasuke?”

“What?”

She bit her lip, she knows what it does to him, and smiled teasingly, “I don’t know- you’re a boy, I’m a girl, we’re in your room-”

He groaned, “Shut up Sakura” and he kissed her.

25 years old

It was winter.

Aunt Mikoto, her mom, and Ino have been preparing everything. Those three have been inseparable since the day she said yes and Sakura could only agree to everything cause she didn’t care about parties.

She remembered how Sasuke would just laugh whenever she ranted to him on how big and complicated this party will be.

She looked in the mirror with her white dress on, and she couldn’t believe how far they’ve come.

He looked in the mirror, fixed his neck tie, and looked again in the mirror, and fixed his wrist button, and this is nerve wracking and i’m gonna mess up and-

“Sasuke, sit doown, relaaax” and he just glared at Shisui and Naruto laughed and said, “you believe me now, huh, when it was my wedding you said I was overreacting”

Sasuke rolled his eyes and he said, “Naruto, you almost climbed down the window”

Naruto laughed and middle finger-ed him and, “whatever, at least you know how I felt now”

Itachi was the only calm one in the room as he said “don’t worry too much Sasuke, you’ll feel better when you see her, look forward to that”

Sasuke closed his eyes and took deep breaths and just imagined her and her white dress and how pretty she will be.

He waited in the altar and looked to the door and saw the most beautiful girl and i’m so lucky and he couldn’t believe it sometimes and as she went closer their eyes met and she arrived at the altar and they just stared at each other and they forgot what they were supposed to be doing and Ino cleared her throat and Kizashi just laughed and Fugaku shook his head with a smile and Mebuki and Mikoto were all teary eyed and then they got married.
