✿sUCH a messy sleeper

❀he'd toss and turn throughout the whole night, ending up somewhere completely different than where he fell asleep on the bed

❀matching pyjama sets !!!

✿especially seasonal ones, he adores them

✿BLANKET HOGGER !!!

❀but not on purpose really, he just pulls it with him due to all his movements

✿u always wake up with it either on the floor or him laying atop of it

❀sometimes he hits u with his elbow or his feet, but pls don't tell him he WILL cry

✿just push him away, boy will not wake up under any circumstances

❀the both of u alWAYS cuddle when falling asleep

✿the usual position is with his arms around your waist, legs thrown over ur own and his face resting next to ur shoulder

❀for that exact reason he's a BIG SPOON !!

❀so so quick to fall asleep, and wakes up after u as well

✿but not at all groggy in the morning !! he's energetic from the second he opens his eyes and sees u preparing breakfast

❀overall just the softest boyfriend ever

♢ꜱᴀꜱᴜᴋᴇ ᴜᴄʜɪʜᴀ♢

❀now thIS dude sleeps like a corpse

✿he's not particularly prone on cuddling u, but he fairly enjoys having ur head on his chest and feeling ur fingertips draw circles against his skin

❀he'd never admit it tho obviously

✿mostly wears a black lose t-shirt and some short sweats or sumn

❀just comfortable all around

✿i'm a firm believer in the back position

❀laying flat on the mattress, one arm either around u, or both resting on his belly

✿light sleeper, if i may

❀takes him pretty long to fall asleep as well, but counting ur breath usually calms him and makes it easier

✿u make everything easier for him actually

❀doesn't really care about a blanket, it all really depends on what u prefer while sleeping

✿often awoken by nightmares, but won't ever wake u up or tell u the next day because he thinks it's embarrassing

❀refuses to leave the bed in the morning, but isn't moody at all just very quiet

✿always helps u make breakfast and makes the bed without having to ask him to

❀overall just a calm lover

♢ᴋɪʙᴀ ɪɴᴜᴢᴜᴋᴀ♢

❀without a doubt, a snorer

✿like IM SORRY LADIES but c'mon

❀but not annoyingly loud, just breathy lil snores

✿the problem with it is: he won't move an INCH away from u ever, he's all up in ur business while sleeping

❀doesn't matter how, he's always got to feel u next to him somehow

✿i take him as a sleep talker too, mumbling incoherent words against your neck which only make u laugh tbh

❀akamaru's got his own bed next to the two of u, but some nights he crawls in between ur bodies, practically suffocating u

✿you really don't mind on colder nights, but in summer kiba makes him get off, due to having such a high body temperature already and he doesn't want u to complain even more

❀wore a shirt and pants at the beginning of ur relationship

✿but now??? u'd have to FORCE him to wear anything more than boxers

❀hates when u don't want to cuddle :(( might as well kill him fr

✿why need a blanket when he has you??

❀doesn't leave the bed AT ALL in the morning, u literally have to grab him by the feet and drag him out of it

✿he's a sweetheart, really

♢ꜱʜɪᴋᴀᴍᴀʀᴜ ɴᴀʀᴀ♢

❀dude HATES cuddling at the beginning of ur relationship, me thinks

✿but fear not, it just takes a bit of convincing from ur side and he's in on it

❀but it's subtle touches really, like holding his hand or having ur feet intertwined

✿if u've had a bad day, he'd definitely play with your hair to make u fall asleep, he's not a diCK

❀grey sweats all the way !!!!!

✿rarely ever wears a shirt, except for when it's cold of course

❀he seems much more like a light sleeper than not, but he's so grouchy when something wakes him up it's a drag really

✿has to be completely dark and quiet in his room or he won't be able to close one eye

❀always sleeps on the side closest to the door

✿big on talking about both ur days at night because he's a very private person and loves spending time with u ALONE

❀deep talk at 2am?? u can bet on it

✿forehead kisses!!! once u wake up and neither of u want to get up and start ur day

❀he's such an attentive lover in general, i'm actually going insane

♢ɴᴇᴊɪ ʜʏᴜɢᴀ♢

❀oh my lovely boy

✿i feel like he wouldn't move a MUSCLE while sleeping

❀sometimes you have to poke him to make sure he's still alive

❀a light sleeper foshou

❀he would 100% wait for u to fall asleep first

✿would always run his fingertips over your back to make you tired

❀unfortunately, the closest to cuddling u two do, is ur head on his chest

✿he gets sweaty quickly, so he'll often sleep without a shirt (which u don't complain about obviously) and that's the reason why he doesn't necessarily NEED body contact (in this situation only!!)

❀but HUGE PLUS he'll sweet talk you to sleep almost every night

✿asking about ur day from begin to end

❀he wants to know it ALL

✿in general, he's really big on making you as comfortable as possible before bed

❀would even wait till the morning to go pee because you look so peaceful laying on his chest

✿don't mind him watching u he just thinks ur so pretty ok

❀u wake up to the smell of coffee almost every morning

✿overall, as we been knew, the gentlest gentlemen to perhaps ever gentleman goodbye

♢ᴋᴀᴋᴀꜱʜɪ ʜᴀᴛᴀᴋᴇ♢

❀poor baby's the king of light sleepers

✿always ready to jump into battle and protect u if he has to, even if u convince him that ur safe and nothing's going to happen :(

❀casually wears a black tanktop and some sweats, mask and shinobi headband easily reachable on the bedside table at his right side

✿definitely enjoys u playing with his hair too much

❀he prefers to fall asleep with his head either on your chest or tugged just under your chin so he can hear you breathe and ur heart beat

✿he's so tragic oh my days

❀anYWAY light snores but only when he's REALLY gone and u rarely ever see him in this state so,,,,,

✿loves listening to ur stories before falling asleep

❀legs & arms intertwined and allathat

✿you will never lay in bed without him picking up one of his books at least ONCE

❀it really calms him down u know

✿but start a conversation with him, and he's all urs, book long forgotten next to his mask and headband.

❀always wakes up earlier than u, preparing breakfast with said book between his fingers

Unacceptably and Idiotically Reckless (Neji x Reader)

Synopsis: After a reckless— albeit cool— stunt on your latest mission, Neji has finally come to scold you.

Word Count: 0.5k

Notes: I hope the anon who requested this is feeling better :/

He was the last person you expected to visit, not for lack of care, but more because you didn’t think he’d find out this quickly. But, well, judging by the expression on his face, perhaps lack of care shouldn’t have been ruled out so soon. Neji scowled in the doorway of your hospital room, his travel bag slung over his shoulder.

“You have got to be kidding me.” He scowled. You beamed, offering him a thumbs-up and a wave from your hospital bed. Considering the bandages that littered your body, your cheery demeanor did nothing to quell the vexation that visibly seeped from Neji. “So what everybody has been saying is true. Look at you; your chakra network is absolutely wrecked.”

“Did you say everybody?”

He stepped fully into the room, eyeing your injuries from the side of your bed. His jaw clenched as he tore his gaze away, pinching the bridge of his nose with a roll of his eyes and a groan. When Neji turned back to you, his tongue was already poised to scold you. You watched as he pursed his lips, his hand hovering in the air to accent the choice words he was already saying in his head.

“How could you possibly think—” Neji’s hands waved curtly in front of him. —“That stunt was going to end well for you?”

“Neji—” You moved to answer him, but you were swiftly cut off.

“No, actually, I don’t want to hear a word from you.” Neji sat on a chair beside your bed, tugging his bag across his shoulder to pull it open. “The Hyūga have the best doctors in the village. I will ensure that your primary provider is switched to a trusted physician.” He set a few vials of different medicines on your bedside table before diving back into his bag.

“Neji—”

“And this tea. I want you to drink this at least twice a day. It is a special blend of healing herbs, and it’s measured out to be a week’s worth, so I better not see this bag full.” He held it to your face before bopping your forehead with the sachet. You laughed, moving to sit up against your pillows.

“Neji, really—” You took his hand in yours, resting it against the blankets on your lap. A vein twitched just above his brow as he opened his mouth to speak. You held a finger up, shushing him with another light laugh. “Thank you for bringing me all these things. I know you must have been worried.” Neji scoffed.

“Me, worried? Please.” The tension in his shoulder dropped as he leaned into your touch. He stared out the far window of your room. You gently squeezed his hand and felt him squeeze yours in return. “Taking a swan dive out there in the forest? I could see how that unacceptable, idiotic, recklessness could make someone else worried.”

You almost laughed again, leaning back onto your mound of pillows to rest your head. You finally got to meet his eye, and with another squeeze of his hand, you offered him a knowing smile and a nod. Neji visibly softened before sighing.

“Will you let me show you the rest of the things I brought now?”

You released him, and Neji dove back into his bag. Neither of you acknowledged the sentiment so clearly attached to it all, especially not the bouquet of flowers he arranged neatly in a vase next to your bed.

I can't take Naruto seriously sometimes because I have to laugh at some of the "omg this kid must be a genius" moments of the manga.

Most of the time it's so painfully clear those are just kids. Confused, desperate, traumatized to no end, scared. Kids that want to believe in a greater good to justify the violence they commit. Kids, just kids. They don't know who to trust, they get manipulated, they make me want to tear apart the adults in their lives and scream and cry an—

Shisui's solution to stop the Uchiha coup was to brainwash Fugaku and to be honest? Fugaku was not even half the problem. The problem was that the Uchiha prejudice had reached unparalleled levels, that the system was stepping on them and had been stepping on them since Hashirama was still alive. There's no way that the clan would have stayed quiet, even if Fugaku ordered them to not follow the plan.

Shisui was smart for his age but he was desperate and he was scared and he was, at the end of the day, just a teenager. That's why he got killed by Danzo. That's why he suicided and left the burden to Itachi to carry.

Itachi was a kid too. Fuck the genius title, it is complete bullshit in Naruto. He thought that the solution was to follow Hiruzen's plan because he was so traumatized by war, he would do literally anything to avoid it. But massacring his whole clan was any better? Didn't he kill innocent people all the same? Didn't he prolong the suffering of Konoha? Hiruzen had the audacity to say that Itachi was wise as a kage in his young age, which is stupid and shows what Hiruzen thinks a kage is and how they should think.

Shisui and Itachi were not geniuses. They were kids / teenagers who happened to be more ways to mold and turn into weapons. That they were smart doesn't mean they were adults.

Neji? He was strong, he was smart and mature. He was one of the best members of the Hyuga clan at 12 years old, a pattern shared with Shisui and Itachi. However, the Chuning Exams made it very clear that Neji was as lost and confused and hollow as the rest of those "geniuses". He was lied to. It's a tradition at this point: how much info do you think they are keeping away from you so that you behave like they want you to behave?

Kakashi? He said it himself that he was stupid for believing he was such a big deal, when in fact his attitude didn't help him save his teammates or properly train his students. The genius title only served to cause him pain. In the Naruto universe, people assume you are immune to emotions or being your age if you're a genius, it seems.

"This kid is a genius" and then the story proceeds to show them making a terrible decision that is not even theirs, it's the system playing with them.

so you're telling me the two characters that gave us the only slow burn romantic moments throughout the whole god damn series DON'T end up together?? How do these two have more intimate scenes than couples that are MARRIED IN BORUTO??

Every ounce every hint every whiff of reciprocated romance that show had was from Neji and Tenten istg they are my swan song

This ENTIRE scene - The gentleness of him catching her? Her deliberately slow recovery?? The tenderness in that eye contact?? I was invading their privacy when I watched this episode

Arguably the most damning of all - The ending to her perfect dream is Neji holding her while she essentially professes she is finally home now that they are back together?? I was speechless tbh and still am over such an obvious display of affection

And this outwardly intimate moment was simply no accident for such a largely romance-avoidant anime

One of the images that flashed in his mind when he thought he was going to die was OF HER front and center????

She dresses up and wears lipstick for his Chunin match and then brags about him the entire fight?? I swear 90% of my girl's entire dialogue was his name

Then she went to comfort him after his match and he confirms that she already knew about the curse mark? Which means he felt safe enough with her to disclose such a painful secret and shameful part of his life?

Even twelve year old me was like this is clearly a thing. The effort the animators went to keep them close together in almost all of their scenes together as a pair is truly above and beyond

Character designs to match the Hashirama and his wife??

And then of course the meaningful nod to them fighting back to back since childhood so that she can cover his blind spot will never fail to make me sob

I could go on but in essence I'm still devastated the one couple that carried Naruto and early Shippuden in the reciprocal romance department never got their happy ending - a tragedy for certain

By now it's obvious I love the Hyuugas and a sweet anon the other day made me imagine genin Hinata working hard on her own to find a way to cancel the branch seal and start her little revolution with Neji.

I also wanted to make her confronting her father to keep the seal off of Neji and Hanabi, and gaining the respect of the clan showing the real risk she's willing to put herself through to protect the people of the clan. - I might add a later interaction with team 7 too.

naruto characters who would be WORST at taking care of u when sick

naruto - comes down with the same illness u have, but is suchhhh a baby about it. u end up caring for him

shikamaru - avoids u like the plague (literally). he hates being sick he isn’t risking it

neji - tells you to grow up

asuma - to be honest he is pretty good. but he takes sooo many bad pictures of u all gross and sweaty he thinks it’s so funny

tsunade - too busy for this shit. sort out ur own soup

kiba - gets dog hair up your nose and makes u sneeze more

deidara - SO damn LOUD he won’t let you SLEEP

tobirama - absolutely no sympathy. you did this to yourself. get a better immune system next time
