out of pure curiosity, is there a reason for “routine maintenance” as a file name for ur docs? If it’s a secret or u just don’t wanna share that’s fine I’m just kinda curious :D
it spawned from a headcanon that sig is kinda the resident “puppet doctor” for the local group! it’s mainly just sig fixing up moon and was gonna focus on the intimacy of you know. opening your partner up and seeing what makes them tick, literally. i just never really finished it cuz i didn’t know where to take the idea after a while. also my ideas about iterator puppet anatomy have changed a bit since writing this so id have to pretty heavily rework it, but here’s a lil bit of it:
fun fact i got the blown capacitor thing from something that’s known to happen in original xboxes lmfao. (btw if you have one check the board it’s probably already got corrosive capacitor juice leaking all over that shit </3) i actually tend to watch a lot of phone tear down videos/retro electronics repair videos to get ideas for shit that i can use in iterators FJSJBDKSF. also i have nowhere else to put this but i’m very proud of this snippet from something from my friend and i’s slugcat repopulation au where moon gets transferred into sig’s can (its a long fucking story okay)

Unsure if i’ll have time to post it this week but :’3 i’ll get it done!!! honestly i just think bfb!toru is insanely attractive so this is mostly an outlet for that but . i have a plot mapped out kind of… the unrequited love trope is just perfect for him but it’s Me so it’ll probably be less angsty and more funny/bittersweet !!

THE BELOVEDEST OF THEM ALL …… my extremely neglected best friend’s brother!kenjaku fic T_T my magnum opus even . i started writing it out a while ago but had to stop bc i can’t decide how to format it …. i think it’d be best to tell the story through a lot of flashbacks but it’s difficult to decide where to put what flashbacks in a way that doesn’t disturb the flow, yk??? but i do have everything outlined and i’m super excited to finally post it :33 someday… bfb!kenny is the actual loml i have so much lore planned for him. this fic is just a whole bunch of yearning and tension… the tiniest tiniest bit suggestive bc he truly makes me ill.
nervously, your gaze trails towards the stairs. worried, your teeth gnawing at your bottom lip. kenjaku notices.
a large palm cradles your cheek; making sure your eyes stay locked onto his own. ”don't worry about him,” he soothes, a rough thumb smoothing down your skin. ”it’s just us here… just you and me. why don’t you take a deep breath for me, hm?”
(you do. without thinking. as if your body was waiting for instructions, waiting to satiate this gnawing desire to impress him, make him proud. be good for him.)

ANOTHER DEARLY BELOVED WIP that’s been rotting in my drafts for a while ….. 👉👈 i think that out of all of these fics this is the first one that i wrote the outline to?? probably even before i made this blog. it’s basically just a canon-aligned au where gojo navigates his maybe-possibly-feelings for you, a new teacher at jujutsu high!! sooo really just my attempt to write what i view as a more canon-aligned gojo and his feelings towards love :3 mostly character-centered fluff and slowburn… some office au vibes…. i’m very fond of this reader!! and i love this version of gojo so bad i really hope i can do him justice…

my sickeningly fluffy cult leader geto fic <333 bc i’m spreading the agenda that he is a puppy of a man towards his s/o. this one is just meant to be funny and sweet!! i adoreee the thought of him dating a retired sorcerer with a normal ass job so in this one the reader works at a preschool…. and they’re meant to attend some kind of event for the preschool + is offered to bring a plus one. mild chaos ensues (geto doesn’t want to be anywhere near your non-sorcerer colleagues but he also wants to support you so he’s having a bit of a crisis rn…..) i LOVE this one and i’m so excited to write it out <333333 i think this geto is the most endearing man alive.
suguru blinks, eyelashes fluttering, gleaming under the shallow light of the lamppost just behind him. illuminating the peach-dyed flush dusting his ears, those wide pupils. and his lips, glossy with something cherry-flavoured, soon to curl up into a smile — fond, fond, fond. melting into your touch, basking in your long-sought attention. if he were a cat, you’re sure he'd be purring.
he places one big palm over yours, where it rests on his cheek, and he stares. silently, like you’re the only thing worth seeing; dreamy galaxies inside his eyes, all honey and star clusters, leaking adoration. a milky way of love.

im really sorry for all the typos and nonsense thats gonna be in this
UGH I LOVE THEM SO MUCH.
i imagine oat is just oblivious for the first half of m trying to court him and is just like "yeah bunn he's so friendly" and bunn is just sitting there like "oh my god you're the dumbest man ive ever met how are you a doctor"
i think once they're together oat has a lot of anxiety about m getting hurt again considering he was literally the one to bring him back from death twice basically.
i think m is stupid protective and may even ask oat to keep their relationship out of the public eye for a while as he tries to get rid of the last of the corruption in the precinct because he knows someone would try to use oat against him.
maybe sometimes m gets a little needy, not sexually, but sometimes he just wants to sit on the couch and hold oat and not let him get up. they need to make dinner? too bad, they can do that later. oat needs to shower? he smells fine to m. he doesn't know how to express that he needs the touch and reassurance so he just resorts to being stubborn and eventually oat understand, pretends to put up a fight, and then relaxes for a few hours until m settles.
maybe someday ill write a fic for them, i can't keep reading my favs on ao3 over and over again

yknow i wish i could write like a super messy, toxic, drama heavy fic with loads of mature themes and just multiple arcs of chaotic energy that is angsty and unhealthy (like a lot of good fics out there) that eventually resolves in happy endings that fix everyone's problems or whatever
but for some reason i just really enjoy the quiet and subtle angst that never goes resolved which leaves the characters having to deal with an ache that will never pass
im sorry but for some reason angst with a happy ending doesnt suit me HAHA
but maybe someday ill write just a super toxic drama college au that is just really fuckin sad and hectic to read (i salute you spirit of 1998) realistic toxic drama is the best

Hi Klaus. I've added a bunch of songs to your playlist recently. Been thinking vague thoughts about you. Like, "Klaus is a nice friend" and "I should make Jet content so Klaus will show up and be happy about it" and then I fall asleep.
8. If you had to write an entire story without either action or dialogue, which would you choose and how would it go?
I dunno how long the story is, but I've written flash fiction/short stories comprised of only dialogue. I know I can do it. But I think that eventually gets tiring for the reader. Not everyone is up to quite that level of imagining, especially just from whatever context clues happen to be dropped in the conversation. I am really good at writing dialogue, but I'd probably go for just action without it for a longer project. That can get dry as well, so I'd have to get creative with it. But I could do it if I tried.
10. Has a piece of writing ever “haunted” you? Has your own writing haunted you? What does that mean to you?
Anxiety Story haunted me for a bit. I wrote it as a fanfic with the intention of helping people with anxiety to relate to it, and people without to understand it. And I succeeded in that. People commented that it felt very cathartic and comforting to see anxiety that wasn't sugar-coated, or solved by friendship. I went really raw with it, and it was appreciated. My favorite comment was from someone who said that their sister struggled with anxiety and through my fic, they finally understood what it was like for her and how to try and help her when she was having bad days. And that really stuck with me because it showed me that there truly is a need and a desire for fiction that is willing to be frank about anxiety, depression, etc. That comment haunts me a little, and while I've temporarily given up on anxiety story, I've never given up on including mental illness in my stories, especially the anxiety and depression, which I also have. I can't quite bring myself to write about eating disorders, but I'd like to, someday.
Uh, and for a more normal answer, the Thorn Birds. I highly recommend it. I'll probably never read it again. But it's a reading experience you can't forget.

...actually that would solve pretty much everything else. I have inspiration, I have stories, I have motivation. I guess maybe a little bit more of a plotter's brain?
A better remembering ability outside of having to repeat information to myself several times and also maybe write it on my hand
14. Do you lend your books to people? Are people scared to borrow books from you? Do you know exactly where all your “lost” books are and which specific friend from school you haven’t seen in twelve years still possesses them? Will you ever get them back?
I used to. Not anymore. Well. I "lend" books to my sister, who now reads more than I do, but really it's just gifting them to her. A couple I've lost but then they came out in prettier covers so I bought those. But I don't lend my books to anyone else. My coworker and friend wanted to read Howl's Moving Castle so I bought it for her. I should buy her a copy of a rival most vial, too. She'd probably love it.

I'm never gonna leave you behind someday by Nelleva - T, 17k, completed
The year after a red sky gives people that viewed it powers, Wilbur's family dies in an attack staged by supervillains. He is discovered by Phil who takes him in indefinitely. He is allowed to heal but there is someone he misses and wishes to see again, no matter how much he's wronged him. There is some mild gore in the first chapter and the attack causes a lot of death so be wary of that but the second chapter is full of Dadza raising a teenage Wilbur. This is the first (and currently only) fic in a series.
Whispers of Red by Alexander_Wesker - T, 58k, completed
This is the sequel to Drawing Dead so I suggest you read that one first. Wilbur comes back to act as the Egg's vessel. His goal is to expand his Family and naturally, the first person he wants to join him is his little brother. Alex is able to write unsettling stuff really well and this fic is no exception. I love Eggbur but please keep him and his particularly raw diet far away from me /j.
I Was Looking for Someone by Raisans_Grapeon - T, 9k, ongoing
SBI zombie apocalypse fic where Wilbur (Ghost) is a zombie who runs into a group of three humans who recognise he's self aware and capable of relearning English. There isn't really gore/cannibalism except for one or two brief bits where it's heavily implied but not graphic despite everything being in Ghost's POV. Also, since Wilbur is learning language, whenever he hears a human conversation, the speech is presented as garbled. It takes a little effort to get the hang of deciphering what is being said but it can be done. Ghost is a sweetheart and I would absolutely protect him with my life if necessary.
Home Again, Home Again by teeth_eater - G, 33k, completed
Tommy, a human who was taken from Earth, crashes the ship he was on and becomes a stowaway on a cargo ship that happens to be manned by SBI. When they discover him living in the vents, they keep him in a cell until they are sure this member of a dangerous species won't do them harm, leading to them eventually becoming friendly. The clingyduo friendship is great. I really like 'humans are space orcs' type content and this is a great example of it. I love the worldbuilding and the thought that went into the alien designs. This is part of a series (Human Error) so there are some great scenes like Chiquitita dancing and Tommy downing 'poison' to everyone's horror after the events of this fic are over.
In the Dark Place by teasdays - T, 24k, ongoing
After November 16th, Ghostbur wakes up in Techno's house. He insists he is dead but Techno and Phil keep insisting he's not. As he adjusts to his new way of living, he has to come to terms that something bad happened before he died and that maybe none of his old friends want to hear him out. I find the exploration of 'what if Wilbur survived Nov 16th but just believes he's dead?' really interesting. I also appreciate that Techno's a bit more patient with him about his insistence that he's a ghost. The gardening scene was quite sweet too.
(Also a special mention has to go out to A Twin of Light by Alexander_Wesker (T, 205k, ongoing) since it's caused me to make a bunch of friends, including Alex themself. If you want to see cc!Wilbur and c!Wilbur become arguably the most important people to each other, I recommend this one. Worldbuilding is fantastic)

Prayers for the Ill by this_is_a_dumb_username - T, 1.5k
Tommy is diagnosed with the same chronic disease his mother died from. He catches Wilbur and the rest of his friends praying for him on various occasions as he deteriorates. Features illness and character death so stay clear if you aren’t comfortable with that.

Tommy is Death and his work sees him encouraging souls to go through the door to the After. However, he meets Wilbur and from there, things unravel as he gradually gets attached to Wilbur's family and friends. There is obviously a tw for the deaths of both humans and animals but also one of the souls he encounters is due to suicide and Tommy is fond of the bugs that follow him around. So be aware of all that, along with anything else mentioned in the tags.
Worth a Try by Solena2 - T, 2k
Eret prevents Wilbur from detonating the TNT on November 16th. I loved their dynamic of ‘traitor and imminent traitor’ and the way they are both characterised. Wilbur clearly wants to get it over with despite how many times he’s backed down and Eret wants to talk him out of it.
Little Wings by Pixelfun20 - T, 7k
Wilbur seems to have been his mother's son in appearance from day 1. Phil doesn't mind this as much anymore but when his infant son becomes irritable and seemingly inconsolable one week, he realises Wilbur might have inherited something from him after all. Essentially, Babybur starts growing wings and his parents try to comfort him through it. It's technically an ongoing fic but the only chapter feels like a one shot to me and it hasn't updated since March so I'm putting it here.
5 times being a seer changed the future, and the 1 time it set it in stone by 5ievel - NR, 7k
Wilbur has prophetic dreams and he uses them to decipher what he should look out for. They help him save Techno's life, prevent the Final Control Room and he thinks it will help him stop a traitor from using explosives. You know immediately whose name should be on his list of suspects but the last line makes all that pay off so well.

My energy levels have been abysmal due to my chronic illness getting worse (damn insurance), so I’m not able to write hardly at all, sadly. But these are my current and future projects:

hi i dont remember reading this but its quite possible i opened it with the intention of just vomiting lore all over your innocent ask and simply Forgot buT HERE YOU GO
(im deliberately keeping it short to avoid being a pain in the ass and also i have sm stuff to do i cannot spend long on this post but maybe ill write the fic someday). it's also very watson-centric as i adore waston in all shapes and forms and have finally come to terms with myself as watson kin over holmes kin (i.e i lost the pretentious "gifted child" arrogance) and am fully projecting onto them instead of holmes :)
1- joan watson was a nurse with the northumberland fusiliers (or whichever division john watson was in in the originals i cannot fully recall) but they got in such deep Shit that the highest ranking officer remaining after a particular raid gave her and some of the other nurses weapons and brief training for self-protection purposes (joan also knew she was attacted to men and women before entering the army but was in love with another nurse while in afghanistan but when she died her the same officer who equipped them with guns (mark morstan) was a real support to her and she did develop feelings but it never went anywhere). joan still gets shot in the shoulder + leg, gets the infection and fever, and is sent home to london, where her mother is disgusted by her leaving home and owning a firearm and refuses to let her back home
2-joan's father feels bad for his daughter, and helps her with fees for london school of medicine for women, but his wife keeps him from seeing much of joan. they write to each other regularly, and joan eventually pays him back in full for college fees with money she makes from her own private practice while living in 221B but we'll get there we'll get there
3-joan must make her own money to pay for her accommodation, but her only source of income while studying is writing short stories under a the name 'j.watson' for the strand- so she must find a flatmate, and fast
4-joan manages to pay rent for a tiny pokehole of a place for a few months, but knows if she can find a roommate, she would be able to afford a flat in town. she arranges to meet mark morstan, whom she knows she cant live with, but who knows more people in london than she does and might know another single woman in search of accommodation who might be willing to split the rent. mark does, but the woman he's thinking of is quite eccentric, and he doesn't want joan associating herself with this woman, for fear her reputation will be tarnished
5-this woman is one sherlock holmes. mark knew her from college in cambridge, where she'd pretended to be a man for the duration of her chemistry degree, and only revealed who she was to him when mark had suggested they try and find a flat together after they had graduated. the revelation of her identity made her behaviours at the college all the more shocking- she'd been the heaviest smoker of the lot of them, had the foulest mouth, and had the best records in the mixed martial arts club. she was the furthest thing from a lady mark had ever met, and he hadn't spoken to her in years, except he'd met her, in the same garb she'd worn in college, posing as a man in a bar for reasons unbeknownst to him. they'd had a friendly chat, and he'd discovered that holmes had recently moved out of the family home and was doing research in bart's hospital, but was seeking a roommate. mark reveals that he'd do anything to find watson a more suitable flatmate, but all the other people he knows searching for accommodation are men.
6-joan is intrigued by this person, having had a friend in her youth who had enjoyed being perceived as a man and a woman, even back before being a woman had much limitations on where they could go and what they could do, and agrees immediately, only a little bashful when mark remarks that this holmes person is incredibly erratic in their behavior and may not even find a well-respected woman like herself a suitable co-habitor.
7-they meet at 221B and the rest is h i s t o r y
8-basically we have a she/her leaning genderfluid, greysexual lesbian sherlock holmes, and we have a she/they gender apathetic, bisexual demiromantic dr watson and they fall in love very slowly and i love them very much they have a dog together too like in the rdj version but im thinking more a red setter like redbeard in bbc

You know, despite the fact that I was mostly a non-presence in the AA fandom back in its heyday, the series is still very near and dear to my heart. I actually wrote a ton of fic for the series once upon a time (recently I went digging through a lot of it while looking through other old writing; I even posted the old intro to Crime of Passion while I was looking through that stuff -- it’s the last chunk in this particular post), and part of me really does want to go back and pick up some of those old ideas someday -- but this one in particular has a special place in my heart. When I think about this series and my engagement with it, that’s the fic that always comes immediately to mind, and barring the unexpected I really do think that’ll be my magnum opus for Ace Attorney on the whole.
Of course, there’s no telling when I’m actually going to get it written, or even get it completely planned out -- so there’s no harm in talking about it a little.
To start: it is canon-compliant up through AA3, at which point I just omit the case that would lead to AA4 because Phoenix needs to keep his badge. He’s a good man and a good defense attorney and I’m not putting him through that if I don’t have to. So he keeps his career, which is good, and Edgeworth decides to stick around rather than heading off to parts unknown again.
As is expected with an Ace Attorney case, everything is convoluted. That’s just the Nature of the Series. And a lot of things hinge on seemingly inconsequential bits and pieces of information -- apparent mistakes or oversights, little things that get overlooked, information that changes context once new evidence comes to light. But, as is maybe expected of me by this point, character relationships are the backbone of everything, and the relationships here run deep.
I’ve always felt a very strong sibling connection between Nick and Maya. They banter and biker and tease each other in a way that feels so much like family; there’s a kindness to the fact that even though Maya loses so much over the course of those three games, she still has family in the form of Pearl and Nick. Despite the fact that she’s going through her Spirit Medium training, I’ve always loved the idea that she wanted to honor her big sister’s memory, too, and applied herself in her spare time to studying for the bar exam so that she could become a defense attorney, too.
Meanwhile, for all that I love Phoenix and Miles as a couple, I can’t help but imagine that things would be...difficult, at first. Despite his marked improvement over the course of three games, Edgeworth still tends to keep people at arm’s length, avoiding emotional attachments to a fairly significant degree -- let’s not forget, this is the man who feigned his own death and then ran off almost immediately after his return to more parts unknown, returning only when he got word that Phoenix was in dire straits. He seems to have trouble understanding some of his own emotions (not unreasonable, honestly, given how he was raised), and therefore tries to keep them out of everything he does, personal and professional; not only that, he struggles with a need for control (again, this is very much a product of his upbringing where perfection was a requirement), and doesn’t deal well with losing it. And all of this plays into his personal life, as much as the professional one: for all that he and Phoenix are spending more time together, in and out of the courtroom, and for all that Phoenix cares deeply about Miles, Edgeworth keeps him emotionally at arm’s length, willing to broach something like friendship but never more.
Phoenix doesn’t deal well with that. If the games have shown us anything, it’s that Nick holds nothing back when it comes to his heart. He puts his all into every case, believing with everything he is in his clients’ innocence -- which is why finding that one is truly guilty of the crime they’ve been accused of comes as such a crushing blow. Even if it was mostly a puppy crush, Phoenix still put his very life on the line to try and keep Dahlia from being charged with murder, and his devastation and heartbreak when he thought that Edgeworth really had died led him to lash out at the man when he found out that it was just a ruse. Phoenix loves wholeheartedly: he’s just not capable of doing anything less. It means he has some pretty steep emotional needs, though, and with Edgeworth maintaining that distance...it wears on him. Badly.
Relationships are not easy things. They require time, care, understanding, and effort to maintain. And if only one side is putting in that labor, things are bound to crumble and fail eventually. And that’s where Crim of Passion starts: with Phoenix reaching the very limits of his ability to endure and starting to fail. He and Miles routinely face one another in court, and though private matters should stay private, it’s difficult to entirely displace private feelings in public settings. Things get...tense in court: barbs are cast in the halls outside, implications made toward the prosecution’s ill conduct toward the defense, and low blows dealt against the defense’s capabilities. The bad feelings linger through the case, simmering away on both sides...and Phoenix realizes that there won’t be reconciliation this time. He’s too tired of putting in all the work, of always being the one to accept and forgive, and getting nothing back in exchange.
So when Miles calls him to make amends, Phoenix intends to tell him that this is the end. That he can’t go on this way anymore.
But before he can, someone arrives at the office. And the last thing Edgeworth hears before the line goes dead are shots fired.
Despite his best efforts, Miles is by no means immune to his emotions. Without ever meaning to, Phoenix has gotten so much closer to him than he ever intended, slipping past his guard without the prosecutor noticing. The sound of gunshots sends him racing to the defense attorney’s office, where he finds bullet holes in the window and a blood trail on the floor, ending at the street...but when he calls the police to report a crime, he’s the one taken into custody as a suspect, a decision motivated by the known enmity between prosecution and defense. So once again, Miles finds himself behind bars -- only this time, Phoenix isn’t there to defend him; and once again, Maya has to confront the death of someone she loves, and her internal conflict as she tries to provide Edgeworth the defense counsel he deserves is enough to tear her apart.

ZIAM:
this is from my ace Liam WIP which is currently at just over 2500 words and that I’ll revisit when I’m not writing for fests:
Liam is practically vibrating next to him, and Zayn turns his attention to Liam with a smile, his hand briefly coming to rest on a strong thigh, though he removes it before he gets the impulse to slide it upwards. Liam is - he’s pretty much spot on Zayn’s type. Strong, a body that Zayn would never achieve even if he spent the majority of his life in the gym (and that’s okay, he’d much rather be held by a body like that than possess it), but so incredibly sweet. Caring, and funny, and a little bit of a dork - really, Zayn’s never stood a chance.
But while Liam cared about him, it had never been like that, and Zayn had been happy to be his best friend, because it meant he still got these little parts of him that no one else did. He got Liam’s joy when he scored the ad campaign, his nerves when he was about to go in for his first shoot, the euphoria after when they’d been pleased with how it had gone. He treasures them, these little secret bits of Liam, thinks about them sometimes when all he wants to do is be closer. “You nervous, babe?” He asks him now, and Liam’s eyes aren’t fully panicked but they’re also not that usual mellow warm brown. He bounces his knee and Zayn rests his hand on it again, feels it tremble under his touch before it calms down. He leaves it there this time.
LARRY:
this is from the “Louis sees when people are about to die” AU which is also around 2500 words and which I’ll also probably write eventually.
Sometimes people fade over time, so slowly that it’s hard to see at first. Like, maybe it’s just the sun, that’s hitting them in a particular way. Or maybe he needs glasses, or to get away from his computer for a while. Sometimes it’s been days, or weeks, before the truth hits him. Days or weeks in which an illness has crept up, altering tissue, sometimes irreversibly.
And sometimes it’s like a head on collision. It’s waking up and everything’s fine and then going outside and everything’s not.
It’s like that with Jax. One moment everything’s fine, they’re on their way back to Louis’ dorm room after seeing a movie, talking about their upcoming Christmas break and Louis’ birthday, and the next, Jax is barely visible. It goes so fast that Louis is breathless before he has even fully processed the image in front of him.

mcu spiderman rewrite/au i may or may not do
ok so first quick disclaimer! i do not hate the mcu spider man movies in any way!! i actually enjoy them quite a bit and have seen homecoming like 4 times! and i absolutely adore all the actors in the movies, especially tom, zendaya, and jacob
but the problem w/ the mcu spiderman movies is,,, they’re just not spiderman. at least from a writing/thematic perspective, which sucks bc so much other stuff about them is great! like tom holland is the perfect peter parker, which is why it seems so close to being right, but with the way the script is actually written... it’s just. not spider-man.
i feel the need to explain all this/my problems w/ the movies b4 i get into the actuall au idea/plot, so please bear with me for a sec
for context, I’ve loved spiderman my whole life. i’d watch the cartoons when i was younger, and then went back and watched them all again when i was a bit older and figured out how to pirate stuff lol. i didn’t really know how to get into the comics, so i just kinda read wikis and got second-hand info from fanfics and the other movies
to me, spiderman, (at least, peter parker spiderman,) was always about like... a kid, who saw the world was broken and fixed it because he could. he had the power to fix stuff, so he did.
as a kid w/ mental illness and a not so great home life... that was something really really important to me. to see another kid out there, who’s been through some shit, but finally has the power to make stuff better, so he is! and it would make me think, maybe i can change stuff for the better, someday, if i just get my chance
but,,,,, the problem is mcu peter parker isn’t that.
instead of becoming spiderman bc he knows there’s bad in the world and wants to fix it, suddenly his motivation is impressing tony stark?? and don’t get me wrong i don’t hate tony, but the way they wrote his and peter’s relationship basically trapped peter. he could no longer be his own hero, bc he was tony’s successor. and that's never who peter parker’s spiderman was?? he was never a follower, he was a trendsetter. he didn’t become spiderman for approval, hell he had dozens of newspapers constantly slandering him.
honestly the following in someone else’s footsteps thing was always a miles morales thing. he had to step up to the plate and fill the shoes of a spiderman who had already existed for years and was beloved by the whole city. obviously thats not all he is and simplifying his character to that is incredibly obtuse, but i bring it up bc tbh alot of stuff w/ mcu peter parker is just straight-up ripped off from miles morales. like how peter now goes to a fancy private school, is no longer poor (which is a huge thing w/ peter parker’s character in like every other incarnation), has a living father figure, and is bffs w/ ned, who is a straight-up rip off of miles’s best friend ganke. (for the record tho i adore ned and jacob i’m def keeping him in my rewrite,,,, also i’m glad he’s in the movie bc having a plus sized poc protagonist thats not constantly mocked is incredible)
so, i’m complaining about all this stuff lol but ur probably wondering how exactly how i wanna fix it lol,,,,
first, give peter an arc thats more than just..... i want tony to believe in me. my idea for that is basically a type of thing where he learns to rely on others! bc like... peter isn’t good at working w/ others lol, he’d much rather do it all himself so no one else gets hurt. (like in the andrew garfield movies where he just,,,, webs his gf to a car so she can’t run into danger lmao)
the plot would start at a similar ish position to homecoming, though tony never recruits peter for civil war. tbh not sure if it even happened but we’ll disscuss that later
peter’s been spiderman for a few months, after a trip to oscorp left him w/ a radioactive spider bite. currently no one knows about it, and he’s doing a pretty ok job of dealing w/ everything on his own. until he takes down a big bad, lets say rhino for now, and gains a ton of publicity. after stooping a hudge disaster he’s suddenly in the limelight, and catches the attention of one norman osborn, aka the green goblin
now, quick sidenote. green goblin is genreally seen as pretty goofy, but there are comic versions of him that are legit terrifying. if im being honest i didn’t even know about that version until i read aloneintherains fic birds eating other birds so ig thats kinda ish how i’m imagining this version of norman? though alot more composed, like the man who could someday turn into that
so norman becomes intrested in my boy peter, and starts sending ppl after him. possibly the sinister 6, but uhh maybe not bc tbh i think this “rewrite” needs to be split into 2 “movies”/works and i might wanna save that for the hypothetical pt2 (btw if i write this it won’t b for a while cause i got other stuff going on but ig if ppl are intrested i might write some snippits/make more content for it)
so basically the main plot is peter dealing w/ all these big bads on his own, doing ok at first but later getting really fucked up, and eventually revealing himself to ned and mj which ends up being the only way he can save the day in the end. by relying on others! yay!!
thats it for the main plot, but don’t worry y’all we got other stuff going on too lmao
so, for one. my boy peter is realizing he has a crush and just,,,, freaking tf out. (i have yet to decide if it’s on ned or mj. or both. sue me) the crush isn’t definitely resolved in p1, but i imagine there’d be some cute thing of him suddenly realizing and freaking out and almost revealing his powers.
thing 2! tony stark! he is still in here, and still a mentor to peter, but in a pretty drastically different way. one, he doesn't know about peter being spiderman. he doesn't even suspect it lmao. he just gets involved bc of.... some sort of reason bc peter is so smart. do i know why just yet? no. does it matter? probably but i’m writing this pretty late after i had school all day so i’m too tired to care
bc tony basically gives peter a real internship/mentorship type thing, peter now has access to all this tech!! and all these funds!! fucking lit!! so he changes from his pajama suit to the fancy one, tho he actually built it!! which i feel like him making his suit is a really big really important part of his character. so it doesn't really have all those random things tony added, tho peter might add stuff himself. he gets Karan as a like assistant ai as part of his internship but she never gets put into the suit
for the fist part tony plays a super minor role but like,,,, the first part is about osborn taking an intrest in him, and him confiding in ned and mj. the second part norman is become progressively more dangorus and peter has to fight him and stuff, kinda proving he is strong enough to be spiderman/be trusted to the whole world, beyond just ned and mj. also him actually getting together w/ either one or both of them bc...... bc i want that.
oh btw idk if tony finds out or not in p2? if he does it’s either at the end or in a scene like the one w/ may bc like. please imagine the shenanigans of peter and ned (who both have high intellegence but low wisdom) in tony’s lab, obviously trying to hide the fact that peter’s spiderman. like he walks in on them and peter looks all frumpy bc he’s been trying to change real fast, and ned’s shirt is messed up bc he just stuffed the mask down the front of it, and mj is just. chilling behing them. so tony just like assumes stuff and is like....aight.... have fun....
oh btw the last big change that i didn’t really have anyway to insert natrually into this,,,, so remember how i said ned was kinda a ripoff of ganke? well, the writers claim he’s a “composite character” so i figured, why not give him traits from other famous spiderman side character so he actually is a composite character!
so like,,,, throughout p1 it’s referenced that ned has a kinda dickish estranged ish dad that he hates and his mom doesn't really like but kinda forces him too... theres some mentions of his dad wanting him to transfer to a private school and being kinda rich, bur he dosen’t want to bc he knows his dad is a total dickead,,,, anyway end of the movie we find out norman osborn is ned’s dad, and ned hates him even fucking more bc it’s like bitch?? u tried to get my (maybe) bf murdered?? tf?? and its lowkey bc he can’t reveal peter’s id, but then in p2 after norman takes matters into his own hands and tries to kill peter on his own ned just fucking yells at him while the man is in jail and is like fuck u lmao
