✨The MHA Boys Go To The Eras Tour With You✨

Lol I just had to do this, please bear with me! I just watched The Eras Tour film and my MHA brain rot kicked in. Here's a few headcannons of how the MHA guys would react to being taken to the Eras Tour as your boyfriend. Spoilers: They're all weirdly into it. And some of them even plan out couples costumes! Gasp!

⚡️⚡️Denki Kamanari⚡️⚡️

Ok there is no doubt in my mind here - Denki is absolutely a Swiftie. He read all of the blog posts detailing hacks and tips to get tickets for the show, and he preregistered for a sale code the minute he was able to. He has half of Class 1A sign up for presale codes so that he can have the most amount of chances possible to enter for a spot at the show.

He's absolutely over the moon when he scores you both tickets to the upcoming concert. He asks you to help him make a Pinterest board so that you can come up with the perfect Eras outfits (he wants to do Lover). Guess what? You go as Miss Americana and The Heartbreak Prince. He's decked out in a glittering blazer with a bejewled plastic crown and he's thrilled. He picks out a matching flashy dress for you to wear, and keeps complimenting how absolutely gorgeous you look in it the whole night.

He's all about taking photos of your 'fits in front of the stadium and blushes every time he gets a compliment from a fellow swiftie. When Taylor takes the stage, he nearly faints. As she starts playing Lover he holds you close and tells you that he's so glad you both get to share the special night together.

🖤🖤Hanta Sero🖤🖤

Sero really doesn't get what all the hype about Taylor Swift is about, but of course he's willing to go to the concert with you. The man loves live shows - but you need to tell him to leave his vape pen behind for fear that you won't get let into the stadium if he's caught with it ("But babe, getting high at a concert is part of the experience!).

You get him a plain black t-shirt with a small snake icon on it. He doesn't get it, but he shrugs and promises to wear it. When you get to the stadium, he's really overwhelmed and intrigued by all of the glittery, feathery costumes. He spends a lot of time trying to figure out how his snake shirt fits into the mix since all he sees is hot pink and red regalia. He smiles and waves gamely at the other swiftie boyfriends in attendance and makes more than a few bro friends while in line for a beer.

When the show starts, he is immediately impressed by the production value of the whole thing. When Taylor steps out onto the stage in her glittering bodysuit, his jaw drops and he turns to you accusatorially "BABE! I never realized that she's hot!?" You both laugh as she sings her way through the Eras.

When Love Story comes on, he wraps his arms around you and says "I remember this one from when we were kids! Makes me think of you." He plants a kiss on your cheek and you grin.

Finally, the intro music for Reputation queues up and an animated snake curves it's way across the stage below you. Sero grabs your arm excitedly as he realizes the snake on his shirt matches the stage. When Taylor comes out and kills the choreography for "Are You Ready For It?" Sero turns to you with stars in his eyes and says "This is the coolest concert I've ever been to. Thank you so much for bringing me!" By the time Karma comes around, he is fully dancing in the aisles alongside the rest of the swifties, completely wrapped up in the moment as confetti rains down on the crowd. When you get home, he buys you matching Reputation era sweatshirts on Etsy to commemorate the night.

"Babe - maybe you can get one of those sparkly bodysuits like Taylor wore?"

"Sero - I have absolutely no place to wear something like that."

"I can think of somewhere you can wear it." He waggles his eyebrows suggestively as he pictures a bejeweled bodysuit tightly hugging your frame.

💚💚Izuku Midoriya💚💚

Izuku has no idea who Taylor Swift is. Why would he? She's not a Pro Hero.

Once you excitedly show him your hard-won tickets stored in your Ticketmaster app, he realizes how important the concert is to you. We all know Izuku is great at hyper-focusing on a topic until he masters it - so for a month straight Taylor Swift is his obsession.

He starts an Eras Tour specific notebook and spends lunch breaks interviewing everyone at Lunch Rush about their favorite Taylor Swift songs and eras. He spends time online gathering data and drawing up little charts, guessing at what songs might make the set list. He's disappointed when he can't find any interviews online that feature her choosing the best Pro Hero, so he decides that her favorite is likely All Might (the only valid choice).

He listens to each album in full, starting with Debut and ending with Midnights. He's thorough, and learns the lyrics to the chart toppers off of each album. He's so excited to impress you with all of his Taylor Swift knowledge and fun facts at the show, that he forgets he needs to dress up for it. When you both arrive at the stadium, he whisks you off to one of the merch lines so that he can grab an official Eras Tour t-shirt. He needs to be appropriately dressed for this occasion in order to prove his dedication to you and, by extension, to Taylor. You tell him that it doesn't matter what he wears, you just want him to enjoy the show with you.

When the show starts, he is bouncing off the walls. From time to time, he'll bend down to whisper an obscure fact or data point about Taylor's meteoric rise to the top of the music charts. A few eras into the show, he stops sharing fun facts - that's how you know he's legitimately enjoying the show.

He tries his best to dance along, but even with the moves he's picked up from Mina he's a truly terrible dancer. He doesn't seem to care, though, as he throws back his head to belt out the bridge to "You Belong With Me" while shaking his hips. You smile at how much he's enjoying the concert - you haven't seen him let loose like this in a long time.

Finally, when the performance for Vigilante Shit starts to kickoff, you notice a deep blush settle across Izuku's cute freckled face. Without taking his eyes off the stage, he leans down to whisper in your ear: "I didn't realize that this song was so...sexy?" You crack up and he grins sheepishly, watching Taylor straddle a chair. He then boldly says: "Maybe you can do some of these moves when we get home?" Your loud cackle of a laugh is drowned out by thousands of swifties singing along around you. You tilt your head up to kiss your boyfriend hard on the lips. He threads his fingers into your hair and deepens the kiss.

You pull away, craning your neck to take in more of the killer choreography before turning back to face him. "I like concert Izuku. I'd like to see more of him." You say, and he blushes even more furiously.

💥💥Katsuki Bakugo💥💥

Katsuki loves concerts. You know this because he's dragged you to countless shows across the past 6 months of dating. He loves all genres of music - pop, rock, sad boy emo, heavy metal. You name it - he's heard it. Even so, you're a little apprehensive to ask him to go to the Eras Tour with you. It just doesn't seem like his scene - glittery, screaming fans making heart eyes and painting "13s" on their hands just seems like something he would not enjoy.

"Hey dumbass! Why didn't you tell me you got Taylor Swift tickets!?" Katsuki angrily bursts into your dorm room one Friday night, looking pissed as usual.

"What? Who told you?" You look up from your laptop, surprised.

"Mina! She said you've had them for weeks! Why wouldn't you tell me?" He sounds more hurt than angry now.

"Kats...I didn't think you'd be interested to be honest!" You get up and cross the room, taking his face in one of your hands. "Do you want to go?"

"Not if I'm your second choice!" He's defensive, but his face has softened at the physical contact.

"Babe - you're always my first choice. I just didn't think you'd enjoy her music style and all of the girly vibes." You pull him into your room and shut the door to keep nosy dorm-mates at bay. You motion for him to sit down in your desk chair and you hop onto your bed.

"That's pretty sexist of you!" He has you there.

"Kats - do you want to go or not?"

It turns out Katsuki has been trying to get Eras Tour tickets for months but to no avail. He is dying to go to this show since it's being lauded as "the biggest stadium tour since The Beatles played Shea Stadium!" As a music lover, it would be a crime to miss such a spectacle.

A week leading up to the concert, you can tell he's getting pretty excited. He's made you read through the setlist with him at least twice. He's trying to guess what the surprise song might be - hoping you get to hear something exclusive so that he can brag about it online. You laugh at this - even with concerts he's so damn competitive.

You're most surprised when he shows up at your door one day with a big cardboard package from Etsy. "I got us some shirts for the concert." he says gruffly, pushing his way into your room. He pulls out two dark purple tees - one that says "Karma is My Boyfriend" and the other stating "I'm the Boyfriend" in bold font. He smiles sheepishly up at you, a rare moment of vulnerability as he waits for your approval. "Katsuki...these are so cute! Literally this is perfect." His mouth quirks up into a smile at the praise, he's clearly pleased with himself.

Before you know it, you're taking a couples pic in front of the stadium in your matching purple Karma shirts and jeans. You snap a few pictures and press your lips to the side of his jaw, leaving a ruby red lipstick stain. "Ugh - come on!" he groans, wiping the lipstick off his face with the back of his hand. He makes a show of being annoyed, but you know he secretly loves being doted on like this.

He goes crazy during the show - he's extra appreciative of the pyrotechnic display during Bad Blood. He gets especially quiet during the Folklore era, and you can see how much he loves watching the grace of the dancers as they swirl across the stage during The Last Great American Dynasty.

You notice that he loves watching you dance and belt out the lyrics to every. single. song. He has this adoring look on his face as he looks at you. You knew he loved going to concerts - but you quickly realize that he loves going to concerts to spend time with you.

At the end of the night, he pulls you into an Uber and plants a soft kiss on your mouth in an unexpected show of public affection (Katsuki is not huge on PDA, he prefers private moments of intimacy with you). "Thanks so much for bringing me, babe. I can't even describe how much I enjoyed that show. Did you see the flamethrowers during that one song!? Insane!" Katsuki has glitter in his hair, and a smile stuck on his face.

You spend the rest of the ride home recounting favorite moments from the show and grinning at each other.

Despair of a Hero (Self-insert, Bakugou Katsuki x Traitor!Reader)

synopsis: Bakugou found out that reader was a spy sent by the LOV. He was tasked to get rid of you, but what they didn't know was his relationship with you; a traitor.

How did it come to this? It felt like yesterday when you were just chatting with him, drinking a cup of tea, and now he's pointing his Grenadier Bracers at you, threatening to end your life.

You have betrayed him. You have betrayed your friends; everyone on UA High. How could you show yourself after spying on them for the League of Villains?

But can you blame yourself? Shigaraki had promised you a life with no despair. Yours has been a life of shame. And all your life, you only wanted to silence your mind from everything. To leave everything, and live a life to love.

But the world had been nothing but cruel to you. Even in death, it had to be the love of your life. But maybe you deserved it. After all, you are a traitor.

Maybe in the first, you knew what you were walking into. When you offered your love to him, you knew what awaited you. And yet you chose to walk through that path. That path of shame, despair, and love.

Nevertheless, you don't regret it. It had been such a wonder to love someone like him. You could say that it was the only thing you didn't regret in your life. The only thing that proved that life was worth it.

He had been your place of comfort. Your home in an endless war. You and he made beautiful and ugly memories, memories to not forget. He was the one who made your life a life to love. Even in your last moments, you will only love him and him only. Even if he was the one to end your life.

You knew. You knew it was hard for the both of you. To love each other, to look at each other with confused eyes, to hate each other. You weren't the only one suffering. Of course it was hard for him too. To kill the love of your life. How iconic.

"Hurt me all you want. But love me as much as you do."

Those were the last words that came out of your trembling lips as he fired his quirk on you with tears flowing like waterfalls from his eyes.

"How could you?" Was all he could say as your body appeared lifeless to him.

He slowly walked to you, still in denial. He couldn't have just killed you, couldn't he? What kind of a lover was he?

But his loyalty to his duty was not as deep as his to you. Like they say, a hero will give your life to save the world. Turns out it wasn't just a saying.

He came back with shame. Shame to have been with you, to not know you, to kill you. But one thing's for sure, he had no regrets. He loved you dearly, it stung to think that he had to take your life as his duty.

Now, the duty of being a hero will forever haunt him, disgust him. He had gave and lost so much in it. But it's absurd to think he had a choice. Because in the first place, he never did.

In the end, he killed you and mourned for you. But maybe it was for the better. Now you're at peace. Now you can have the chance to be happy. Unlike living in this cruel world, with no one to love you and nothing to live for.

How I Format My Scripts (With Pictures!)

Scripts are, for all intents and purposes, the roadmap for your desired/intended reality!

Before I get into the nitty-gritty of things, I have a few things I want you to remember:

You are not CREATING the reality, you’re LOCATING it, so don’t feel bad about scripting things that seem a little overdramatic or ‘wattpad-y’. YOU are going to be the only person who knows that it was anything less than sheer coincidence, so don’t worry about it.

You are able and allowed to change your height, weight, build, gender, whatever. You are NOT obligated to look like your OR self.

You can be as specific or as vague as you want!

As a note, my scripts are modeled after shifting youtuber Cass Relf’s scripts, so for more details and ideas, I recommend watching this video! Things to include in your shifting script! - YouTube) Like her, this scripting explanation is made with Notion (a free software) in mind, but you can use any software you please!

Now that that’s out of the way, we’ll cover the categories of what one might include in their script, as well as display my own ‘Obey Me!’ script as an example!

I enjoy having an overarching page that display all the subpages related to my script, hence, the dedicated ‘Menu’. This is not necessary, I just find it helpful. (Additionally, I find it helps to ‘set the mood’ for the rest of the scripting.) (The icons you choose don’t matter)

Script

This is where you put your main affirmations, as well as instructions that are immediately relevant to when you arrive in your DR. You do NOT have to lay out the rules or lore of your DR here, as there will be a section for that later. This section can be as long or short as you want! Typically, I use this section to dictate where, when, and how I awaken in the DR.

Character Details

This section is self-explanatory in some ways, but deceptively complicated in others! The ‘character details’ section is where one should lay out descriptions of the ‘important’ figures in their DR (including yourself!) These descriptions typically include name, nicknames, age, height, a physical description, a personality description, and a misc. ‘notes’ section (Seen below)

Depending on the content of your DR, you may need to add or remove certain sections for these character pages! For example, in a MHA DR, you might want to include what class (or agency/organization) someone is involved with, or describe their quirk on its own! Don’t be afraid to experiment!

If something is important to include, but doesn’t fit into any of the aforementioned categories, a ‘Notes’ section at the end will be useful for you!

(Special note! If you’re making your own page, I suggest replacing your ‘personality’ section with a ‘backstory’ section, just so you can elaborate on your DR self’s background. As well, I personally put the vast majority of my abilities/interesting notes in the ‘notes’ section. Due to the sheer volume of DRs I have, I’ve found it helpful to create a ‘basics’ page that I can reference across Notion teamspaces/pages. This is not necessary, however, if you’re fine copy/pasting or simply don’t have much overlap between DR selves!)

My ‘Basics’ tab is also split into sections, though all within the same document! The categories are: Appearance/Body, Abilities, Social, Tech-Related, Safety, and Misc.. These are all fairly self-explanatory.

Character Styles

This section isn’t necessary, but it helps to flesh out your DR in your mind. It also adds a good spot to specify the sorts of clothes you want in your closet, or another person’s clothing habits.

Typically, I go on Pinterest to find cute outfits and simply paste photos of them into the page, though there are sometimes canonical sources you can go to for finding photos for people’s outfits!

(Careful on this front for Notion, as you can only paste in so many images before hitting a limit! Same for pages.)

Diary

This section can be used for a variety of things, but I personally use it to catalogue shifting attempts for this specific DR. It is helpful to record what does and does not work for you. Additionally, you can use it to write down what you’re most excited to do in your DR, things you’re scared of in your DR, and so on and so forth.

Visual Inspiration

Arguably one of the most fun sections, ‘visual inspiration’ is where you can put photos or reference images for some of the places you’re planning on visiting! Videos and drawings are also applicable~!

Personally, I split it into a menu page of all the locations and then subpages of each location, but you don’t have to!

(Different angles help to visualize things, but aren’t strictly necessary!)

About My Desired Reality

This is the portion wherein you describe certain aspects of your Desired Reality! You don’t have to explain the entire plot, or even the broad strokes of it, as the multiverse (as well as your subconscious) already know where you want to go. Still, this is a good spot to specify the date once again, specify the specific iteration if you’re shifting to someplace with variations (such as specifying if you’re shifting to the movie or book version of someplace), and other important notes that pertain to the world at large rather than a single character (but don’t count as ‘rules’.)

Additionally, if you want to specify a specific plot you want the DR to follow, you can write that here (I, of course, put it in another sub menu at the bottom.) You can be as vague as ‘it follows the plot of the show’ to explicitly plotting out each ‘episode’ of events.

DR Rules

This is where the basic ‘rules’ of your DR go. This is where most people put their safety precautions, such as stating that they cannot die, that you can shift effortlessly in and out of the DR, and so on and so forth.

You can also put slightly more specific rules surrounding certain characters here (or on their character detail page, it does not matter.)

Scenarios

The final and most fun part of scripting! ‘Scenarios’ are events that you plan to happen in your DR. Unless you remove them, they will eventually occur, so be certain that you truly want whatever you’re scripting. As you could already guess by this point, they can be as vague or specific as you’d like!

A little rant over the why I consider that Midoriya Izuku is autstic

Disclaimer: This is just one of my many mha theories. I would rather if peope didn't attack me for this. If you don't like it, just ignore it!.

Special interests

Having a special interest is one of the most common characteristics for autistic people, and personally, I believe that his interest in heroes, quirks, and All Might can be read as special interests. Specially having in mind how this interests are actually very deep and time consuming for Izuku, and a very important part of him. This derivates in another characteristic that is infodumping and that is something that Izuku does A LOT.

He even shows distress when he doesn’t know something about one of these topics. (More specifically, when All Might told him that he used a support item, and Izuku was upset that he didn’t know that and went on a research rampage after finding out (I relate)).

I also think that his hero quirk analysis notebooks are an outlet for him. Like a safe space where he can rant, and store information etc. And that is really important, because it seems like his notebooks were another reason that people bullied him for (although that is not confirmed, apart from that one scene with Bakugou).

Stimming

He stims a lot through the show. He rocked back and forth as a child, he repeatedly jumped, and is constantly exercising (vestibular stims (i think)), and he built a habit of watching the same All Might video all of the time (and he still does that as a teenager when he is upset. After the USJ attack he is watching the video in his bedroom before his mom calls him for dinner). This can be considered a visual stim.

Trouble identifying social cues and has a hard time socialising

He doesn’t seem to be able to fully understand when someone is completely invested in what he is saying, or on the contrary, when someone is bored and wants him to be quiet. He also seems to have trouble knowing when to stop talking, getting interrupted multiple times by All Might, and getting yelled at by Bakugou especially when he infodumps.

He has a hard time meeting new people and socialising in general. I think that this is easily appreciated when he first started to interact with class 1-A, in his first interaction with Night Eye, when he met Hatsume, etc. There are many examples of this honestly.

Sensory processing issues

He doesn’t exactly go on sensory overload but he does have a crazy pain tolerance, and that can be connected to difficulty processing pain stimuli. We can see this on pretty much every single fight Izuku has been involved in.

Hyper empathy and emotional dysregulation

It’s obvious that he cares about others and feels deeply for them and what they go through. Maybe a little too much. I think this could be one of the roots for his hero complex and his need to fix everything and everyone by himself.

And he is a very emotional person, we have seen him having mood swings, and crying a lot both in public and in private. Apparently his tears are something that he cannot control, even if other people make fun of him for it. (I relate).

Has a different way to view the world

This is something that both All Might and Gran Torino have pointed out about him. He has a different perspective, a different way to think about things (like when he was trying to figure out how to “not make the egg explode”).

Adherence to a certain way of doing things

I think this is why it took him so long to develop his shoot style. He was so focused on using his quirk in a specific exact way, that he kind of forgot he could just use his legs. It could also be why it took him so long to figure out that he should see one for all in a more natural way and not as a special move (I don’t think I explained that correctly, but for reference, it happens around the Stain arc).

And this is very minor, but I would also like to mention his very iconic red shoes.

Safe food

This might be a little bit of a stretch, but I think it is a possibility that Katsudon is one of his safe/comfort foods since it is canon that it’s his favourite food.

Physical contact

He seems to struggle receiving physical contact from people he is not close with. The only people that if I remember correctly he actually seeks physical contact with are Inko, All Might, and Bakugou sometimes.

Note: this could also be a cultural thing and not be autism related, since in Japan people tend to avoid touching others unless it is unavoidable , especially if they are strangers, not related, or not close. (Little side note not mha related, but this is quite the cultural shock for me as a Latino, since physical contact is widely accepted here in Colombia. Which is funny, because I hate physical contact).

Speaking differences/struggles

He mutters a lot in the show, and many times, he seems to be doing it unconsciously, others having to stop him, and even sometimes being annoyed with it. This is something that I struggle with as well, since I’ve been told that I speak to fast and too low, and I do it completely unconsciously and have to apologise many times for it, just like Izuku.

He is a very detailed oriented person

I think this is evident mostly on the way he is fast to analyse fights and his opponents (like in the fight against Gentle Criminal and La Brava), and also on his quirk analysis notebooks.

Since the very beginning this has been an important trait of his, that shines when he saved Bakugou from the sludge villain, or when he analysed the fight between Mount Lady, Kamui Woods and the giant villain in literally the first episode when he was still in middle school.

This is even seen on the Provisional Hero License Exam, the joint training arc, etc.

In conclusion: Izuku Midoriya is autistic and I’m absolutely convinced that he is.

If anyone else has something to add please do, I thrive for neurodivergent mha headcanons. Izuku isn’t even the only character I theorise to be autistic.

Hawks has zero rizz. No game whatsoever. Hes good at fake flirting but when he wants to actually flirt with someone and gain their interest, zero game.

I have a theory that when Izuku was first learning to control black whip and swinging around he got a lot of help from Sero and they formed a bond. So they go out on their nights off and swing around end up having heart to hearts on the tops of buildings. Izuku and Sero are very close because of it.

Todoroki is a fast learner and because of that he has taken to studying urban dictionary so when the situation allows he says out of pocket shit that becomes iconic. Quotes from him are popular bumper stickers.

Eijirou contrary to popular belief is so fucking smooth with flirting and wooing people. He grew up in a very loving household, with his mothers constantly flirting and showing each other affection. He doesn't use these powers though, too scared to cause someone discomfort but got dared to flirt with Mina during a game of truth or dare and she almost took him to her dorm afterward.

I could go on for hours about this but I won't because I have self respect and will end up writing fanfiction.

Commentary:

I've seen lots of "in the style of" art pieces of certain manga characters in the illustrative style of other manga, but almost never a "what if this character was written by this author". So I thought I'd write up this set of short satirical fan comics with my frequent collaborator Sha-Y based on that conceit.

The One Piece comic almost didn't make the cut as the joke is really simple if relevant, but it just wouldn't leave my head until I jotted it down. I'm not sure if Law had to be a "D", but I'm just really, really surprised that the Will of D didn't originate in Wano like almost everything else of note in One Piece (Best Swords, Strongest Yonkous, Poneglyphs, etc).

I used to think that Naruto had it bad with bourgeois bloodline privileges until the final arc of Bleach. An alternate gag involved Denji saying Spanish and German words apropos of nothing apart from thinking they sounded cool.

The Naruto/Boruto one might seem hypocritical of me given that I'm a fan of Fate. However, I must point out that Notes. was one of the first stories in the Type-Moon multiverse canon. So I'm in the clear. Also, like Kishimoto, I wanted to do a retread of that pigeon scene from Bolt. That said, I admit to being delighted by Silent Hill UFO endings and even Paul Phoenix's Tekken 5 ending. Plus, I didn't mind the escalation in No More Heroes III. I just feel a little bit bad for the likes of Zabuza and Pain and everyone else in that book trying to have a sincere emotional moment when the root of the whole setting and its woes lies with E.T. eating a Devil Fruit. Anyway, back to the comic, Denji was originally going to wear a t-shirt espousing the phrase "Ska Messiah", but I ultimately decided it would make him look too young, especially since he and his hypothetical son are supposed to be the stars of it.

Demon Slayer was a wonderful book, but it didn't quite click for me until I saw Hotaru freaking out over his swords being lost or damaged, took note of what year the manga took place in, and gave a second look at the manner Muzan was dressed. A last hurrah for the samurai icon, a nation dealing with the dirty laundry of previous centuries so it can enter the open ports of the 20th without urban fantasy horror criminals worsening its upcoming bad decisions and eventual reinvention. Fittingly, Chainsaw Man has the Future Devil, which allowed for Denji to spell out the subtext of Kimetsu no Yaiba in a characteristically churlish yet everyman way. If he survives Part 2, I'm looking forward to seeing Denji fight the Y2K Devil. The Future Rules!

I'm sorry this isn't a "ten years at least" joke. But someone already did that better, so we're doing this old meme instead. The Bat Devil coming out of nowhere to wreck Power's easygoing (if roguish) existence with Meowy always stuck out to me as one of the most quietly nightmarish moments in Chainsaw Man. He just swooped in, snatched her cat while they were napping, and started making dark demands and threats. So, for a laugh, I decided to do what Isayama did with almost every aspect of Attack on Titan and Lelouch it. You thought it was one of the Four Horseman or a Primal Fear, but it was Denji who was behind everything all along!

I'm fairly certain that Horikoshi is just padding things out until he can get MHA to Chapter 400. He could surprise us all. The final (THIRD) battle with All for One could end at Part 41 or even Part 40. I understand given how Oumagadoki Zoo and Barrage panned out that he'd cling a little fiercely to his little superhero tribute that could, but the plot armor of his baddies has gotten so humongous that it can be observed from orbit at this point. If Chainsaw Man has taught the manga world anything it's that just because your main villain has power copying/stealing abilities that could allow a writer to extend a series indefinite with the convenient excuse of said villain just pulling whatever plot extending necessity the author needs out of their rear, doesn't mean that such a plot device should be abused in perpetuity or through, if I'm counting right, five characters (six if you count the one in Vigilantes). The restraint on Fujimoto; some thought Part 1 would go the typical shounen route and double in size just to deal with the big antagonist reveal. Instead, a miracle of good taste and protagonist proactiveness occurred. You love to see it. That said, there's like a sweet spot between 9-minute live-action superhero v. supervillain fights and the final act of MHA for ideal superhuman action length. Maybe we'll find it someday...I should really rewatch Mystery Men this year.

Hi ....Do you mind if I ask your top 5 (or top 10) favorite moments from any anime (can be series or movies)? Sorry if you have already answered this ask before.....

This is an incredible ask which inherently will come with some serious spoilers! This was also really tricky trying to determine what makes something my favorite - was it the funniest? The craziest? The biggest plot twist? I used the benchmark of what moments do I wish I could watch for the very first time, all over again. I broke the difference with eight, hope you don't mind!

⚠️ Spoiler Warning covers the following series (specific benchmarks will be given) for Sk8 the Infinity, Attack on Titan, My Hero Academia, Yuri on Ice, Trigun, Fushiigi Yuugi.

SK8 the Infinity S1 E6, allusion to S1 E10

Starting off light! One would assume that one of the most iconic scenes in Sk8 is the slap heard round the world but I found that more heartbreaking than anything. My favorite moment of Sk8 is easily Miya cockblocking Joe on the beach because what a flex, first of all. Secondly, the build up and subsequent (unknowing) teamwork of our favorite motley crew of skaters? 😘👌🏾 Chef's Kiss and *peak* comedy.

Attack on Titan S3 E16

I could talk at length about the exquisite exposition of Attack on Titan and how each rewatch sprouts new easter eggs of foreshadowing as the world unfurls for the viewer. But the truth is, out of the entire series, the moment that I would want to rewatch for the first time is Erwin's rallying speech in Shinganshina. In addition to inspiring goosebumps and anxiety when I hear it, it is a perfect storm of emotions as concurrent events unfolding are all coming to a head. It's a wretched life and a hopeless situation made worse by the all-or-nothing corner they've been backed into. The standoff is more poignant as it's a reckoning of Erwin's own past of valiantly using others as cannon fodder if only as a means to a strategic end. A man we now know to be possessed by the obsession of proving his father right, presses forward ceaselessly while never seeing a future beyond that and we're never given the time to fully digest that. "A Perfect Game", indeed. The speech manages to be heart wrenching every time. Including when the dub pops up in my music library.

Yuri on Ice S1 E10

Hot Take: Every sports anime is a BL. You cannot convince me otherwise. BUT THIS WORK OF ART!? Literally the exception that proves the rule. Episode 7 was GOOD. Like, "ohmygod-ohmygod-ohmygod, IT'S HAPPENING!" good. Episode 10 was a cultural reset ✨ and what I wouldn't give to see it for the first time all over again. From the viewer's perspective, Viktor picked up his life with one foot in a relationship when he decided to coach Yuuri. It was alluded to, hinted at, his susceptibility of Yuuri's affection should it ever be thrown his way but in an almost detached, puckish manner. A manner that frazzled Yuuri so he could never take it seriously. So what a comedy of errors to know, after finally finding a working rhythm and even exchanging rings, that Yuuri was the one who made the first move!? OMG. Iconic plot twist, truly. The bonus evidence of his champagne fueled revelry is one of my all time favorite bonus sequences.

My Hero Academia S3 E18, S6 E9 and Heroes Rising (Indirect Manga Spoiler Ch 337)

Maybe a bit biased since I'm most plugged into this series at the moment (I like GIFs and only get 9 a post), but here's a treasure trove of moments! I've recently gotten my niece and nephew into MHA and rewatched everything from S1 to the current season and all movies while seeing how they digest everything. I tried to tweet about it because it's truly novel seeing things for the first time through their eyes but didn't really keep up with it. Since I'm reading the manga (and need to pick back up on posting about it), I have a renewed perspective on certain moments so see below:

Iida rallying Aoyama from the figurative edge during the provisional exam and how it inspired Aoyama to sacrifice himself so someone he perceives as noble can be slingshot across the finish line. Humorous of course since we know Iida was like a hair away from murder a season or so ago. When this last ditch effort unites the rest of Class 1A and serves as an impetus for them all to pass together? BRUH. With what we've seen of Aoyama and what we later learn, rewatching this scene actually made me a bit more emotional as it added a layer to his duress that we don't comprehend just yet.

Bakugo's hero moment which mirrored Midoriya's own hero origin story. Don't get me wrong, Bakugo is no stranger to sacrificing himself. He and Midoriya make it a habit of saving one another. But this specific moment marks itself indelibly as deliberate insight into Bakugo's character growth because we hear his thoughts in that moment which seems to mirror Midoriya's. TBH, the episode was good but reading that for the first time? Phenomenal. It felt more impactful somehow.

The final fight scene against Nine with everyone coordinating to use their quirks to the best of their abilities while knowing they were outclassed. Bakugo and Midoriya seamlessly working together and then the (non-canonical IG) transfer of OFA with Deku risking quirklessness again and Bakugo warning him against it. *Cue Sarah McLachlan-esque soundtrack.*

Trigun (OG Run) S1 E 23

I slipped down the Adult Swim to Toonami pipeline of anime so Trigun was one of the first anime I fell in love with and kicked off an enduring adoration for characters voiced by Johnny Yong Bosch. Wolfwood's showdown with Evergreen and the subsequent scene at the church as he makes his peace before dying forever altered my brain chemistry. On the one hand, I loved Wolfwood's character as he played off of Vash so well, comedically. At odds but similarly aligned in the greater good though the means to the end weren't always in sync. I could appreciate the dissonance of his character, holy man who kills; unsavory priest, etc. So I would have been sad to see him go either way, but the life he imagined for himself as he was dying? Knife in the heart. Knowing that ultimately, legendary gunslinger Vash the Stampede made such a visceral impression on this ne'er do well priest, moreso than the God he served and that that was his undoing? Twist that knife, baby. That last bit I can appreciate much better as an adult where, as a kid, I could understand how moved I was without realizing the complexity of it. Truly devastating.

Fushigi Yugi S1 E33

I'm realizing that a lot of my favorite characters tend to be really irreverent and rough around the edges. These very same characters tend to have compelling depth beyond their surface level brashness and character growth that stays with me. Such is the case with the graceful and beautiful Nuriko of the Suzaku warriors. As a kid and also for a series of that period, I could understand that Nuriko had a rich complexity and appreciate the relief that they were accepted wholeheartedly by Miaka and the warriors. The character was so deeply steeped in grief that it defined them and muddled their identity over the course of their life. Upon finding a new mission, they were able to come into themselves but only by slowly letting that grief go. So it is ironic that this person, shortly after finding peace in who they were, was marked for a death that would critically galvanize Miaka and the rest of the warriors to carry on and see the mission through to the very end. This episode became a core memory and I distinctly remember bawling.
