I redesigned Yangchen's outfit!
... I actually designed a lot of outfits for her, because I am Extremely Normal about these books, and also I like costume design and learning about historical clothing.
Short disclaimer: These fantasy clothes aren't culturally or historically accurate, just historically and culturally influenced. I don't have any expertise in East or Central Asian culture or clothing, I've just been clicking around on the internet a lot the last two weeks learning things because that's my idea of fun lol. If you wanted to talk to people who actually know things you should check out @atlaculture or like @ziseviolet, both of whom's blogs I referenced while drawing.
I only designed two alternates for the outer robes. The first is based loosely off the robes Buddhist monks wear (loosely, because drawing draped fabric is hard ^^') especially the Tibetan zhen robe. This garment is just a long wide rectangle of cloth which can be draped across the body in lots of ways (versatility ftw!).
The other garment I drew is a Chuba, a traditional garment from Tibet and the Himalayas. It's a robe, but it highkey reminds me of kilts and hoodies, in that it a) can be worn over one or both shoulders or just as a skirt and b) it makes a giant pocket over the stomach. The long sleeves can be folded up or tied back btw.
I spent the most time on the middle layer, because I was thinking it has to be something she could comfortably fight in while also being suitable for diplomatic meetings, meditating, espionage, and possibly sleeping.
And like. You can fight and hike and whatnot in loose skirts, but it's annoying how twisted up they can get while sleeping. ALSO, YC does a lot of flying and leaping, so my girl needs pants. My faves are definitely the Xiaolin monk pants and the yellow wrap pants Aang wears. I tried dhoti (Indian wrap pants) because that kind of looks like what the giant statue of Yangchen meditating might be wearing, but I think it looks odd paired with a highwaisted shirt instead of a long tunic. Maybe I'll do some more drawings with her in a tunic and dhoti or a monk's dhonka and shemdap later, idk.
As any good historical fashion nerd knows, foundational garments are everything (◡‿◡✿).
But also, there's a scene where Yangchen and Kavik pretend to be lovers, and are "discovered" by a maid sleeping in the same room, with Yangchen in a state of partial undress (gasp!)
I am living for this fake drama; I need to know how scandalized the maid was lmao.
When the maid walks in, Yangchen immediately wraps herself in a bedsheet before ushering the maid back out the door. Maybe all she did was take off her outer robe... but why would she need to wrap herself in a sheet if she was wearing a long-sleeved high-necked gown? I got the sense from both the book and cursory research about buddhist monks that walking around without your outer robes was socially acceptable, at least in casual settings. I think it more likely she was in her underclothes, which historically (in the west anyway) would also double as sleeping clothes.
"The Aang" is censored because this is Tumblr-dot-com. Its mostly a joke, but also, I know other countries are less uptight about bººbies, so like, maybe it's a valid option ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
The ~Water Tribe~ look is based off Sokka's swimwear and not Katara's, mostly because chest binding seems antithetical to airbending.
All the other undergarment designs are based on hanfu neiyi, because that's what I could find reference photos and romanized names for.

So I was checking out Greg Ellis' IMDB page to see if he's been in anything recently. I mainly wanted to know if the whole blowup between him and Mark Darrah 3 years ago that resulted in him making a YouTube video speaking in Cullen's voice while beseeching the Dragon Age fandom to rise up against Cancel Culture affected his career in any way.
This was swiftly forgotten, however, due to the fact that I got really caught up in the wall of text that is his Mini Bio.
It's a lot, right? Usually when I see bios on IMDB they're less than a paragraph. But what got me was the inclusion of all these weird details. How Greg "mastered the Rubik's cube at 12" and that he's "skydived 10,000 feet above the earth" (so? ppl skydive, man, why is this important). But then there's this mention that he has over 20 action figures of characters he's portrayed in film and television. Like... seriously? This is really worth including in your IMDB Bio? Then right at the bottom it says the Bio was written by PR which lol
Anyway, I didn't post on tumblr dot com just to dunk on all the questionable details Greg PR decided to include in his IMDB.
What I wanna talk about is this lil detail here:
Now, I've read his IMDB bio a couple times over the years and have never really questioned whether Greg was truly nominated for an Emmy. Like, who tf would lie about being nominated for an Emmy? But then I started wondering what the Emmy was for (seeing as how he neglects to mention it in his bio) so I decided to do some digging into what he was nominated for.
Doing a general google search turned up nothing so I decided to try his website to see if he supplies more details, and he does.
Again, he neglects to mention what the nomination was for, but says that he was nominated for his role on 24. So naturally I did a search for 24 Emmy nominations.
It is at this point I become aware that the Emmys have not only dedicated pages for shows that have won Emmys, but also a search function.
Guess whose name isn't listed on 24's Emmy Award page?
Guess whose name doesn't reveal any results for even something as basic as an Emmy nomination?
Even under his legal name? Or the other version of his legal name?
Okay, so maybe they just neglected to add him on the 24 page. If Greg was nominated for anything, it would most likely be under "Outstanding Supporting Actor In A Drama Series" as he was a guest actor for 9 episodes of the show (as Michael Amador) between 2003 and 2004.
He's not listed in the nominees for 2003, 2004, or even 2005 (just to be generous). And since I bothered to look it up just to double check, here's a YouTube video for every year in this category: 2003, 2004, 2005.

While all this may seem like a bit much just to emphasize that Greg is lying about an Emmy nomination, I need it to be understood that I did my best trying to verify its existence. On the off chance it turns out the nomination exists somewhere, let it be known I'll delete this post and apologize for misinforming people.
But I just gotta say, if it's not on the Emmy's website or even his own Wikipedia page, then where tf is it? Like, I get that Wikipedia isn't a totally reliable source, but Gregory Itzin, who actually was nominated twice on 24 as a supporting actor, has it not only mentioned on his wikipedia page, but also has one of his nominations sourced (if you click on the link it will download a PDF).
So until proof that he was ever nominated turns up, I'm going to assume he's lying about it. Which is funny when you consider he's not even lying about winning an Emmy, he's lying about being nominated for one. He's lying about losing an Emmy. Like, could you imagine if Tommy Tallarico lied about almost being on MTV Cribs?
Anyway please reblog this post and feel free to steal it because I find this extremely funny and would love it if someone asked Greg why the internet isn't turning up results for his Totally Real Emmy Nomination.
ETA - Adding a link to @aidanchaser pointing out that it seems like Greg is claiming he was nominated under the categories for "outstanding casting in a drama series" and/or "outstanding drama series" based on what he says about the nomination on his website, along with my reply as I was aware of those nominations but didn't make the connection between them and what he says on his website.
I'm only going to add here that his claim to this nomination is a huge stretch because, by similar logic, if 24 actually won either of those nominations, basically anyone who worked on 24 could claim that they're an Emmy award winning guest actor or production designer, which entirely misrepresents the award being given as it hollistically takes into account various parts of the casting and production. Like, there's a reason there's separate categories for this stuff, and the fact that he seems so comfortable making this claim on his IMDB that he's an "Emmy nominated actor" based on those nominations is such a wild stretch.
And it's clear to me this obfuscation was intentional because he could've easily said that he worked on the "Emmy award winning show, 24" because that's more accurate to the truth of his involvement with the production (i.e. that he worked on a show that won muliple awards). But specifically claiming he was "nominated" lends credence to the notion that he was nominated specifically for his work while still technically being true (despite that claim being bullshit).

Hello, what are your thoughts on a girl with Aphrodite Conjunct Ascendant?
Hi! I have quite a few thoughts, actually, because of who I am as a person as well as the type of astrology I practice. I've bolded my main interpretation of this placement below in pink, but I'm writing a second post contextualizing my process of interpretation so you know how and why I came to these conclusions.
Aphrodite [1388] Conjunct Ascendant
Aphrodite conjunct the Ascendant suggests a blessing from Aphrodite upon the native from the moment of birth. The native will unconsciously alter their behavior to best elicit admiration and any other form of love from whoever is in the immediate vicinity. They will move with natural sensuality. They constantly invite love into their lives, and - so long as the Ascendant doesn't form malefic aspects to other major objects - are constantly practicing self love.
This placement makes them beloved for who they are as the individual - but it does not indicate a selfless lover, either being or having one, not without effort on the part of the native. You are capable of giving yourself a fulfilling level of love without the help from others - and it may confuse you when your partner asks for more expression of love from you to them, when they aren't capable of finding fulfillment in themself. Once you decide to consciously express your love directly to them, however, you make one of the most generous and most gratifying lovers.
On the other hand, with malefic aspects, this makes an individual who is fond of playing with their partner, withholding from them, inciting their jealousy or even engaging with multiple partners at once. There may be the persistent feeling that your partner never gives you the attention and appreciation you deserve, and so you feel justified in testing their patience or teasing them. You may also be simultaneously attracted to and repulsed by your open enemies and business partners.
Regardless of other aspects and malefic-benefic qualities, the ideas of love, beauty, sex, and desire will undoubtedly define the native's sense of self, even when they aren't aware of it. Not just their choices, but their basic mannerisms are reflective of what they believe others find attractive. They instinctively seek the attention of the public. This is a placement that makes you think of that one Tumblr post that's like "I have to be the hottest person at the grocery store". That's you. (It's also most Aphrodite conjunctions, tbh - like, I get it, lol.)
This conjunction differs from conjunctions to planets or asteroids because it does not necessarily inform the astrologer of the life, environment, history, or relationships of the native, because the Ascendant is the intrinsic individual at its core, without influence and without interference. Who you are at your most raw, at your most animal. Context - planets, house system - only shapes and molds the material that the Ascendant provides. Even the sun and moon are not as purely 'you' as the Ascendant.
So while, for example, I can explain why a Saturn-Aphrodite conjunction native does this or that, or feels this way or that way, the same is not true for an Ascendant-Aphrodite conjunction, because there is no real REASON. Aphrodite simply has touched you at your most essential. It is not that you are Aphrodite - nobody is the gods - but what you are has been, in some way, MOLDED by her, FABRICATED by her.
For the extent of this blessing, you can check your divisional and/or harmonic charts. I suggest looking at her related asteroids as well. (Coincidentally, I actually have a quick-list post for Aphrodite's related asteroids already drafted.)
Vedic astrologers may check their 9th, 20th, 27th, 45th, and 60th divisional charts, as well as any chart which emphasizes the D1 Nakshatra ruler. Hellenic astrologers should check their 7th, 9th, and 32nd harmonics.
Blessings from the gods are often double-edged. Think of Hector, Andromache, Paris, and, most famously, Helen of Troy. All of them were blessed by Aphrodite, but none of their endings were happy, regardless of how romantic their collective and individual stories.
Penthesileia's blessing was another one bestowed from birth, but it's real value to her is debatable - after all, it most impacted her in her death, as it was Aphrodite who cursed Achilles, who killed the Amazon in battle, to love her post-mortem. Perhaps a fitting revenge, but not a blessing Penthesileia benefitted from.
Honor Aphrodite, and do not take her for granted, but do not necessarily surrender everything in faith to her. She is the goddess of love, but she loves many and even those blessed by her, or any god, are not entitled to be saved by them.

The reason why I got into RP is because it helped me with my skills, I was a journalist when I started my ooc career (not anymore) and doing threads in between breaks were fun. Back then, AIM and Tumblr were the sh*t and sidenote, I remember being bullied/dragged in an ooc rp drama manhunt way back when because of a problematic mun and that's when my selectiveness for rp-ing started. Also developed a habit of letting muns go if i feel iffy with the way they communicate. it gives me the ick as the kids say nowadays lol.

Getting to know @antiresolution -mun through the screen. I have another online friend to vent to (im sorry ily hope ur doin good)

When I first started, I was a semi-au blog (been loyal to sooyoung fc since day one lolololol), that was married to a xiumin-fc. That xiumin-mun wrote really well and it was the first relationship plot I have every written. After AIM's downfall, I believe they quit all in all, but I still think about it from time to time. Hope they're doing good.

You know when you write something spicy or like nsfw on a thread? I once accidentally sent it in an IC gc and was horrified (muns were a good sport though but I had to take a significant break due from the embarrassment). Ever since then, I always double-check before sending even if its short replies lmao.

so, i'm trying my best to deal with bbc sh after 5 years, and I really think that we will have an s5 in the near future, they have given a lot hits about, (BC finally talking about a new season, the free copyright party 2023...)
So, my biggest problem with the s4 is the morgue scene, and i've been reading some s4 fix-its that properly deal with john's behavior. I read some about Sherlock leaving/moving on after what happened (my favorites I must say, cause I can't forgive john) (+ sanjay my beloved)
And I ended up in a category of "dark john", and I'm sure some traumatized me forever
I read this fic, post s3, where j&s has an established relationship post mary, and their relationship starts to change to something abusive (on john's part), this fic is amazing, honest and realistic about abusive relationships, and well the ending is tragic for johnlock, with an happy ending only for sherlock.
Then I saw that the fic was from 2015???? And that left me shocked, cause... john's behavior was always like this? Should we have realized sooner what was going to happen?? And that just made me hate the show even more. And looking back, maybe it was always there, especially after the fall. At least me, I never really gotten my head around the violence scenes, and I took the morgue scene as something OOC from John, but now I don't think it was. It makes me so sad.
I wanted to know if there are any metas and analysis about john's behavior in the show, because WATSON would never do something like that. I hate this show with all my heart at this point, It's ruined me :(

Thanks! I appreciate you letting me take time to answer this. Not necessarily anything other than "lol it was long and I was lazy" hahaha.
ANYWAY, this is just my perception of the fandom before S4: No, John wasn't overtly portrayed as a "dark" character... I think the darkest the majority thought of him as was as just a man with anger issues he was working on. That said, regardless of fandom, there's ALWAY ALWAYS a "dark" genre of fics where one or the other "protagonists" are characterized as "morally ambiguous to downright evil" people, and that's all it is. Dark Sherlock and John fics were a popular subgenre once upon a time, but I've never personally read any of them because I have a hard time with fics if the characterizations are "off" from my readings of them (literally it's just me), but I have no problem if that's what someone else wants to write about.
As for meta, the closest I can do for you are these meta about who John is as a character, and you can check out my 'who is john watson' blog tag for more (I've put it under the Chrono tag so you can see the earliest posts first).

This is a fic rec of One Direction fic writers who both appreciate positive, long comments and enjoy replying back to these comments! This was made in honor of an enthusiastic friend who had a few bad experiences commenting in our fandom and receiving less than kind replies. Instead of just fuming about it, I decided to do something about it. I knew that most writers would absolutely love to receive comments like the ones she leaves, so I made a post asking for writers who fit this to recommend their fics to us. And wow did you all come through for us!

hi!!! i've been reading your books at a rate that has stopped all productivity in my life its been very fun!!! i had a quick question about georgia mason- throughout the newsflesh series i've definitely noticed a lot of things in her pov that stuck out to me as very off-color internalized misogyny (ex. her perception of the congresswoman, descriptions of herself sometimes- as soon as i finish alien i'm planning to reread and i'll look for receipts to double-check my work lol). mostly it was just little things here and there that i thought were odd. to be honest, i originally blamed you and assumed that it was just the author's underlying prejudices bleeding through into their work. then i read feedback and stalked your tumblr and came to the conclusion that my first conclusion was probably wrong. i might be being wayyy too picky or reading into things too much but i was wondering if these moments are intentional? are they a part of her character intentionally or am i being an overly-sensitive sjw? thanks for your time haha
A combination. Georgia doesn't have a very high opinion of most of the world, and thanks to her mother's terrible example, she tends to view traditionally feminine things as a sign of weakness; at the same time, that book was written in 2008/2009, when I had done a lot less self-examination, and still believed that because I was a woman, I couldn't have internalized misogyny. I know better now, and would handle some things differently if I were writing now.
TL,DR: Some of it is character, some of it is the author, who likes to think she's a better person than she used to be.

I am once again experiencing brainrot, also before I say anything else, I should mention the quality goes down a bit as the pages go on, that’s because I occasionally have issues with my wrist and it started to flare up near the end so the art quality said good bye and left with the kids.

There are spoilers for skyward sword here, also a little warning there is a major (technically minor cuz I don’t put much detail into it) injury in this.
To help avoid spoilers and stuff Im gonna keep hiding the images under the read more, also this part does include some of my terrible writing, as like I said before my wrist failed and I had 4 more panels planned that I couldn’t do, so supplemented with writing and got a bit more in than what would’ve been in the panels.

Impa: Ah- The Old woman did what she could but his injury is deeper than we first thought... Whatever Ghirahim did is preventing it from healing properly. The waters from the skyview temple spring could help, but he’s in no condition to make the trip. I can’t leave him unguarded either...

“This shaking… I fear the seal has been broken,” The Ancient One spoke as soon as Zelda reappeared into the main room, “I suspected it may react to your lingering presence Your Grace, but I never imagined the seal would break so quickly,” Zelda had to stop herself from grimacing, that title has brought nothing but misfortune. “Zelda, there will be time to explain later. Right now, you must hurry to the bottom of the pit outside.” Zelda gave a quick nod in response, shuffling down the set of stairs planning to break into a sprint out the doors when she was stopped by Groose, who’d gone from the quivering mess he was before to what could only be described as a more composed version of a quivering mess.
He gripped her arm tighter than she assumed he meant to, she could feel his hand shaking as it clung to her.
“You can’t go out there, the old grannie said it’s after you! It’ll,” Groose thought for a moment, he didn’t really know what was out there, other than it was most likely, definitely terrifying, “Well I don’t know!” He spat, “But whatever it is it can’t be good!” He said pulling her back gently, only for her to violently wrench her arm from his hands.
“Who’s going to do it then?!” She practically screamed, anger bubbling inside her spilling over from the encounter with Ghirahim, from her failure to protect Link. From starting this whole mess in the first place. “The only other person who could is in the other room dying!” She cried, taking the sword from her back and flashing it to the knight in training, he backed away from her, raising his arms a bit as if preparing to defend himself from her wrath.
“So unless you plan to go out there and stop it I suggest you stand aside and let me take care of it,” She spat, Groose surrendered, there was no way he could win this, she was right. He couldn’t go out there to stop whatever was about to be unleashed, he crumbled the second he set foot on the surface.
Zelda wasted no time charging out of the Temple and down the pit, using her sail cloth to soften her falls. The second she landed at the center of the pit the seal within it began to glow, shifting with shades of red as a black smoke tore its way from the ground.
A large dark scaled beast formed from the smoke, it’s scales feathered down its entire body, shining red when struck by the light. It was a lot taller than Zelda expected then again she really didn’t know what to expect, the beast was larger than the temple by a lot she estimated. The beast had no arms, but did have short legs which sported strange jiggly white toes, Zelda would have had the mind to be weirded out by that if the beast hadn’t reared it’s head down to roar in her face, showing off 3 rows of terrifyingly sharp teeth. She was almost certain it was going to devour her when it straightened up, taking a few steps forward.
“I knew it. The seal has given way!” The Ancient one called down, “I’ll explain later, but now is the time for action. We must keep that beast from escaping that pit! It must not reach the temple!”
All Zelda could think about the moment she mentioned the temple was Link, if this thing got up there… She readied herself for battle, only nodding in response to the woman’s words, though it was more for herself as she was sure the woman couldn’t see her.
Even if she could she didn’t care, all she cared about was stopping this thing from getting to the temple, getting to her friends.
Getting to Link..
She wouldn’t fail him again.

Defeating the beast was easier than she thought it would be, as was sealing it away again, despite all that it was still an overall terrifying experience she knew would haunt her for years to come. Pushing those thoughts aside, however, she took a few deep breaths, readying herself to head straight for the skyview temple when she was met by the Ancient One.
“Though the Imprisoned had only just begun to awaken and break it’s bonds, I’m impressed you were able to restore the seal keeping it captive, of course it was not originally your duty to do so,” The Ancient one tacked the last part on most likely unintentionally, the pit of guilt already settled in Zelda’s stomach grew a bit at the comment, “Unfortunately,” The Ancient One continued, “You have only succeeded in buying us a little more time in which to act, the behemoth you beat back into confinement is a horror of unspeakable power,”
‘Could’ve fooled me,’ Zelda thought to herself, glancing back at the sealing spike behind her, the old woman's voice bringing her attention back to the conversation at hand.
“Judging by what I saw, I would not be surprised if the seal gave way again soon,” Zelda mentally kicked herself, they didn’t have the time to waste on this thing, especially given the condition of her best friend. She ran a hand across her face turning towards the slope leading back up the temple.
“Then I need to start moving,” She spoke interrupting the Ancient One who herself had begun to speak again, she raised a hand in a motion of apology, “If we’re going to make and enact a new plan we need Link, whatever you need me to do can be done when I return, but for now I need you to seal up the temple, every inch of it, I don’t want anything getting in there until I get back.” Zelda ordered not waiting for a response before rushing off letting the vents take her back up the spiral. She realized her tone and actions were a bit rude, but judging by not only the Ancient One’s words, but the condition Link was currently in, she didn’t have time for social niceties, and she definitely didn’t have time to feel bad for being rude.
She could do that later, once Link was back on his feet..

I think I might have seen someone bring this up before, but since I've seen that @staff seem to be listening to us lately, I seriously think tumblr should just allow us to donate to its upkeep like Wikipedia and AO3.
(I understand wikipedia and AO3 are non-profits and tumblr, well, isn't- but hear me out.)
This would allow users who want to support the site (but maybe can't afford a monthly or yearly subscription) to donate what they can/want to, and also this way tumblr wouldn't be at the mercy of brands who might want to request changes under threat of pulling funding. (And we all know how the users here react when brands try to tell us what to do...)
AO3 is holding a donation drive right now with a goal of $40,000. Yesterday when I first saw this going on they had already raised around $26000. I just checked in again as I'm writing this post and they have already raised $143,991, meaning they have already surpassed their goal by nearly $104,000, and there's still two days left in the three day long drive.
And this is not unusual for their donation drives.
In 2021 their Oct. drive surpassed their $40k goal by over $155,000 and the Apr. drive surpassed their $50k goal by over $214,000.
In 2020 Apr. drive surpassed their $130K goal by over $328,000 (Oct. did not seem to have a monetary goal)
In 2019 their Oct. drive exceeded their $130K goal by over $117,000 and the Apr. drive exceeded their $130K goal by over $115,000.
I could go on, but I think three years worth of drives is probably enough.
Now I'm not saying that tumblr would immediately have the same overwhelming success as AO3, and I'm not going to pretend like I know how much it costs to run tumblr compared to AO3, or the different complexities that come with funding a for-profit site vs a non-profit, but I am saying that its users care enough about this site that (those able) would be willing to pitch in if just asked and given the ability to do so on a 'give what you want' basis, especially if we knew it meant that brands wouldn't be encroaching in our communities and telling tumblr what to do/pretending they're our friends. Double especially if we knew it would fund things we've been asking for, like ridding the porn/spam bot problem.
I feel like this can even be rolled out in baby steps, like maybe don't immediately get rid of the "ad free subscription" until you see how the first round goes. Then, if it happens to go spectacularly well (like it usually does with AO3,) kick the brands out the door and stick with it.
Or, more likely, convert the "ad free subscription" to this model.
To pull example from AO3:
Biannually run a donation drive with a goal to meet, and users who donate $X or more get the perk of no ads on tumblr, and anyone who doesn't mind a few ads here or there are free to donate less to keep the lights on/the knowledge that tumblr won't be held in a chokehold by brands (and maybe also a little top hat for their icon or something as a perk lol).
I feel like most, if not all, tumblr users would agree that this would be preferable to tumblr falling into line with all the other social medias that thrive on influencer/brand culture, shitty algorithms, and sponsored posts to make their money, seeing as the appeal of this hellsite is that tumblr doesn't have those shitty algorithms or influencer culture.
Like, I'm not gonna get my hopes up that tumblr would actually run with this, and I understand that perhaps maybe there are legitimate reasons why they couldn't, but I still think many users would prefer this method of funding the site costs and staff if it meant saying fuck off to brands.

I was on your Masterlist, but I haven't seen anything from you in awhile. I found you again, and I can't find myself tagged in any category. I adored your Heart of a Hunter story and read until the baby was saved. Did you add anymore to it? I can't find any but the first 4.5 chapters, though I read all of them. I never got a chance to read your other stories. I've only had my Tumblr for about a year, give or take. I'm an older reader and discovered the series 4 episodes before the series final episode. I've watched a lot of the most popular shows, but I love reading FanFiction stories about the brother's relationship with each other, their dad (and mom), their relationship with girls and the inner turmoil they're having to go through in their lives about their past and what the job they're pretty much forced to do. I wanted to know how to get to your newer stories and chapters of Heart of a Hunter. In fact, all of your stories, including how to find each chapter of each story. I don't know how to easily get them, even when you were reminding me since I was on the list. In fact, I have a lot of trouble finding stories about Supernatural and others shows I really loved like Timeless. Is there a way to find these stories, and would you know how to find stories on FANFICTION and AO3, if I remember correctly. I save stories now, but when I first started reading them on all 3 sites, I didn't keep up with them, then changed phones, etc. I have no idea what the names of these stories I loved, but I could give a summary of many of those stories. I read somewhere that there was a way to find stories a reader has forgotten the name of, etc. Would you know about it, or do you know how I can find out about it from somewhere else? Sorry for all if the questions. My youngest kid left for college, and it's hard for me to figure this stuff out. Lol! Thanks for all of your hard work because even though we love it, writing is a pain and very difficult to do correctly. I actually am a TV scriptwriter. I moved back to Texas from LA to marry and raise our 3 kids here. I'm getting back into it since my youngest moved to college. I also work as an editor to several authors. I'd give anything for Jensen and/or Jared to read my pilot script and/or series bible and want to play the leads. It's a Western set in 1867 Texas. I know Jensen and Danneel are leaning toward him playing superhero type roles like Soldier Boy and more Supernatural, but I wish he'd consider another Western after he went through that terrible tragedy in Rust. He was so excited to be in a real Western! Jared is playing a modern day cowboy as Walker, so I don't know if he'd ever what to do a limited series real Western. Although they still both look very young which is amazing, I'm afraid they'd be older than the main characters who are both in their early 30's. There's quite a few flashback scenes showing them at all ages, but the current years of their Ives are from their early 30's to however long it would last. I just wanted you to know that you have the talent to make your living as a writer, but it can be hard to break into it. Most of the authors I help started by writing Kindle books, but some have become NYT and USA TODAY Best Selling Authors. Thanks for Heart of a Hunter! I hope to hear from you. I, too, would love to see Jensen in a western role. I read a screenplay recently for a feature that he would be fantastic for, but all I can do is hope he gives it another try someday.

Hi! Idk what to call myself except for the auditory hallucination anon so I guess we can abbreviate to A.H.A. pfff no need to answer I just need to like. Get this out of my brain.
I considered that maybe I was schizophrenic? But if I'm being honest my auditory hallucinations could've been caused by caffeine/my manic episodes. I self checked to make sure I wasn't manic to ensure that yeah maybe I'm a system? I'm not manic right now it's super easy for me to tell and I am also. Far too self aware. I also went back and double checked that some other mental issues I suffer from could be connected with my manic episodes and *coughs* cycle (hormones man. Desperately trying not to overshare here).
I recently settled into new meds and I haven't actually suffered from any of that stuff. It did cause two manic episodes in the beginning but again. New medicines. And since I've sort of always talked to people in my head off and on I don't think it's my medicines causing this.
I got worried that maybe I was overpathologizing HOWEVER I have talked to people in my head for a while. In elementary school I considered one specific systemmate an imaginary friend-- in middleschool I had another pop up after a year or two of stagnation, then in freshman year I had a few plus the old imaginary friend and an introject (who just took on her appearance) of another imaginary friend (we agreed on introject because it's a lot more complicated than her being an imaginary friend-- childhood alter ego doesn't sound correct LOL unless what I went through was that extensive that this developed much earlier than I thought. Which could be a possibility BUT I don't think I should worry about when I first split since it's a childhood thing and I can't remember a whole lot of it. Literally a whole two years is blocked out of my brain.
Also a fun fact. Which you probably know. Osdd can cause a disconnect from trauma while still retaining the memories. I thought I hadn't really connected with this (Which is why I looked into schizophrenia) at first but then one of them came forward (a little :c) and described to me in vivid detail how one of my traumas felt to them and I just. Oh. My stomach dropped because I completely blocked out a lot of the feelings towards it. (I know systemmates can communicate through feelings, correct? I think I felt some of hers.) I knew it was bad and that it definitely affected me in a certain way but I realized it had affected me a lot deeper than I thought.
Sorry this is like. Essay-length. This is why I feel like my systemmates are real, at least. We've been talking about making a system tumblr????? But I'm worried it'll be too soon to make a blog since we've been questioning for like. A whole week at the most. Maybe if we did we could dm you or something and talk privately? *shrugs*

Yeah, id say if youve noticed symptoms from that far back, youve got a pretty high chance of osdd-1/did! and heck, even if you do have another thing causing hallucinations you can still have it, we have psychotic symptoms too and its not impossible.
the emotional disconnect is a mood, it can take a bit of reflection to really go "oh f/ck.." huh. and yes sysmates can communicate through emotions!
dont worry bout length, and yeah youve got what seems like a real solid foundation for your questioning! a sysblr could be helpful, especially if you are in the stage of questioning! you dont need a 1 month badge or anything. and totally, our dms are open!
and yeah imaginary friends turning out to be alters is very common

Continuing on that observation because I forgot to add this part, as a gen z I'm glad you understand that we or young people don't invent new ways to be evil, but it's not completely true. You aren't seeing new forms of online abuse in every platform, I doubt second hand information is going into details as well. Also the fact that you are a white man, there are things being said and done to poc in various online communities that I don't expect you to be privy to. Harassing fans of color and poc media has become a lot more common and normalized which parts of the fandom at large will never see. I don't know if anon did all of the thinking before saying "gen z bad" but they're not completely wrong looking at the kind of mass bullying behavior literal kids are exhibiting. They are learning from or being encouraged by older people but that shouldn't take the focus away from them to blame only the older people.
And my ask regarding Barbara, you assumed I hadn't thought about if my disdain for the character could have come from ableism. I had tho, granted you couldn't have known that and it was surely a possibility, so I'm not saying I'm mad about it, I was at that time a little bit. But you could perhaps give your anons a little more credit sometimes. Sometimes people know what they're talking about, you don't need to explain other possibilities to them each time.
Once again, sorry if this came off as very rude I just needed to share that observation and among many other instances these two were really highlights and kept bothering me. My issue with Barbara goes in a different direction than anything to do with her appearance and I've personally faced online abuse from people younger than me in ways that technologically, even politically, wasn't possible or as easy a few years ago, so you can maybe see why...
Please keep in mind that whatever context you have for yourself or your ask when you come into my inbox on anon......I have none of that. You have an awareness of yourself relative to whatever you asked me. I literally only know an anon by the words they put into my inbox and nothing else.
Also please keep in mind that every anon I answer, I do so in the larger context of my own interactions with tumblr overall. I have a lot of precedent with things I say being taken out of context, misrepresented or even just me not conveying myself as well as I like.
So the combination of those two things is that a) I literally just don't KNOW what any anon does or doesn't know and b) If I'm going to answer an anon, I tend to want to answer as fully and clearly as possible.
I can understand it coming across as being talked down to, so I'll work on that, but I would ask people to remember the above and keep that in context too when weighing my responses.....am I actually being condescending in every case, or does it simply feel that way because I'm including stuff you already know in my response? And if its the latter, is THAT something I COULD know about you without knowing who you are or you as a person and not just a paragraph sent in anonymously?
I'd rather be safe than sorry, and so from my POV since there's no harm in somebody seeing someone cover information they already know as PART of their overall answer or response, like, there's no reason for me not to include whatever I think is relevant and just expect readers to decide for themselves what about my response, if anything, is helpful, and like....just ignore the rest, y'know?
Also, just for the record, I am ADHD and I save my medication for when I'm working or writing or have stuff I absolutely need to get done, which doesn't include my usual blogging. So I'm usually posting while not on my ADHD meds at all, hence the rambling tendencies and the length. Another aspect of ADHD that doesn't get talked about much ime is we tend to over-explain, part out of just excitement/interest in whatever it is that has our attention, and also in part because we're used to people not necessarily following the leaps our minds take when jumping around rather than proceeding in an orderly thought pattern.....so, part of why I break things down so incrementally is I literally just don't know where my way of looking at things diverges from the way neurotypical thinking views things, so I want to draw as detailed a map as possible in order to ensure the most people possible can follow my thought process, just in case.
(And again see, this is something you might already know, and hell, you could have ADHD yourself, I just literally have no way of knowing that so rather than just mention it and be like "oh and also I have ADHD and so that's something to keep in mind" I'd rather explain WHY I feel that's particularly relevant to your question, since I'm kinda like, why not answer as fully as I have the spoons for? People can stop reading at any time if I go on too long. Its fine).
As for the specific asks you're referencing - my response to the gen z anon was not meant to convey that the sort of things you're describing don't occur among gen z, so sorry for giving that impression. Its actually the opposite of my point, which was simply that I don't think its a generational thing, or that anything is gained by treating it as a generational thing. This kind of behavior exists in gen z, yes, but it also existed before gen z. Its not gen z SPECIFIC, or limited to just that generation. That's all.
And the other ask, the one you made about Barbara - to be honest, I don't have anyway of knowing for sure which one you meant, and there are a couple it could have been, but if its the one I THINK you're referencing, I believe you asked how to stop people from assuming you dislike Barbara for reasons rooted in ableism when its because of other things? If that's the one, then I mean, the thing is....I DID answer your question, in as much as anyone could. I addressed the perceptions other people might have of your stance there, but basically - there IS no way to ever ensure people take you at your word or any kind of guarantee you can present your POV in a way that won't be misrepresented or misunderstood. So ultimately, I just had no real useful advice for that?
And so I expanded into the only thing I think anyone CAN control, aka their own thoughts and words, and suggested that you just double check to be sure of your own possible biases that others might read into your words without you being aware you were putting them in there. That wasn't meant as an insult or to suggest you hadn't already examined yourself for possible ableism - it was simply saying it never hurts to check again, y'know? We don't always catch everything every time we do a self-review, and internal biases are inherently tricky to pick up on ourselves. And it just loops back into the fact that I really had no way to know what you had and hadn't already considered, you're essentially a blank cipher to me....and in my experience, a lot of people are a lot more ableist than they realize.
And this isn't an insult either! It applies to me and I'M physically disabled! I'm constantly to this day unpacking new realizations about how I still have more ableist views and opinions than even I realize, even after about five years of living with chronic pain, vertigo, nerve issues and associated problems stemming from only half a working mouth lol. I'm not trying to insult people by asking them to just do what I do every day and just like....make sure I'm not the problem when other people have a problem with me. Because sometimes, even after reflecting as fully and genuinely as I can, I think they're still wrong! I don't have to agree with their conclusions! But that doesn't mean that they're never right.
And for the record, I do think its still worth examining on your end, because I don't love that you said your issues with Barbara have nothing to do with her appearance, when we're talking about ableism specifically. It very well could be just a poor word choice on your part and not a reflection of your actual views, but it could also be a suggestion that you tend to think of physical disability as something that's limited to there being a visual sign of, and there's a lot of invisible symptoms and changes to the ways a disabled person interacts with society and society with them that don't alter a disabled person's appearance in anyway...and many of these things are the exact stuff a lot of unacknowledged ableism revolves around.
So I'd like to give you and other anons more credit and the benefit of the doubt and assume you know what you're talking about and don't need things broken down as much as I tend to break them down to - but keep in mind I don't OWE you that, and its a lot to ask someone to take you on faith when you've already made the conscious choice to present yourself to them anonymously, and deliberately limit how much a person even CAN know about you before answering, when you have an equal opportunity to present yourself by name, allowing someone the full context afforded by your blog, that they can use to familiarize themselves with you and what you likely do or don't know before answering. I don't think its entirely reasonable to anonymize YOURSELF and then expect people to still give you the benefit of the doubt.
Especially when not giving you the benefit of the doubt only really results in me over-explaining something you don't think you need explained in certain ways or in as much depth. Its not hurting anyone, and you're not going to be the only one reading this response and maybe that over-explanation ISN'T something other people know and it could still be of use to someone else, y'know?
But lastly, please keep in mind that you came to me, and I just answered in the way that made the most sense to me. If that didn't work for you or wasn't what you're looking for, that's fine, but like. You knew way more about me going into this interaction than I could possibly know about you, and assuming good faith of you and your interest in my response and giving you as much of a response as I did in the first place, let alone now, IS giving you the benefit of the doubt in the sense that I'm assuming you can find some way in which these responses are of use to you.
And if not, like....just don't send me more asks? LOL. I kinda feel like you just didn't expect the answer you got, and that's sitting weirdly with you. Which I get, to be honest, but I don't particularly think that's a me problem, because that has nothing to do with anything I can control.
I can only give the answer that occurs to me when I read and think about an ask. I can't guarantee it'll ever be the answer the asker actually WANTS.

a vent (feel free to ignore if it's too much!): so recently i've noticed psd makers getting anon asks on whether they're ok with people who write certain topics (mostly rpf, incest, rape, underage, the usual "problematic" topics) using their recourses. now, i don't roleplay any of these subjects on tumblr, so even if a content creator said not to use their stuff, it's not even something i need to worry about - but, and maybe this is me overthinking it, what if i, someday, write a noncon fanfic on ao3? i'm still not using their resources on the subject or writing it on tumblr, but i'd probably feel weird about it, like i'm crossing some boundary. what if a psd maker whose content i've already purchased suddenly goes "actually don't use my psds if you rp abusive relationships", which is probably the closest to what people consider "taboo themes" of the things that i roleplay. it just feels like a fine line between personal boundaries and a shitty situation for a customer - not wanting to cross boundaries but already having PAID for something previously, when no such rules existed. it's making me want to 1. block everyone i see saying this, because even though i don't personally roleplay the topics above, i don't feel SAFE around people who tell others what kind of fiction they are allowed to enjoy and 2. just quit using people's resources and spend years learning to make my own psds so i won't have to worry about this shit. it's just stressing me out, as someone who has been harrassed and bullied online for speaking against censorship. i've had literal sock accounts made just to spew targetted harrassment at me on twitter. i've been accused of being a pedo and supporting incest and this is??? literally for saying "i don't think real people should be harrassed for fictional shit", i've not even shipped underage or incest ships. both make me uncomfortable. but fuck, antis make me 1000000x more uncomfortable than people who ship these kinda ships. i digress, this got rambley, i just. do you have any advice on what to do with the potential psd situation, or am i really just overthinking it? (always worried i accidentally send stuff like this off anon. help)
I need you to know that I actually had to rush-scroll back up and just double check that you did submit on anon lol! I always get worried I'll miss the one person who accidentally didn't use anon, if it makes you feel any better! When someone does submit with their URL attached, I message them first to be sure they are okay with them having it posted that way/it wasn't an accident ;) That's what I would want someone to do!
Alright, so, anyhow...
I've also noticed that becoming a more common thing and it's been on my (maybe huge) list of things to look into for a bit because I really do try to make sure I'm not just noticing things in my areas of the RPC/failing to notice things that do not impact me. Since I do all my edits and graphics, it falls into the first category for me. So, thank you for moving that up the list and informing me that it really is more prevalent and not my imagination!
My take on seeing it was a combination of business logic and anxiety, not going to lie.
On the first: charging to do a psd that is just that, just a psd file being used as a template/to act as an easier version of a photoshop "action" in a way, that's 100% legal and fine. Absolutely no muddy waters there. However, charging to do things like icons, edits, etc. that include images of celebrities and stills from movies (or gifs) is quite muddy. Legally, it's not legal. It's a thing we're allowed to do and use (on most platforms) because we're not making money off of it, we're not claiming to hold rights to the images, and so on - it's ignored but illegal. Charging money for it, however, even when phrased as "for my time" (which, absolutely valid feeling), is a more serious form of illegal and potentially attention-getting. This all gets more iffy though when we add donation instead of direct commission/purchase when working with these copyrighted materials. You can ask people to donate and suggest a donation based on your time spent, and that is always what I advise people to do.
Okay, so, that preface is necessary because the thing about stipulating use-rights is that they're iffy, too, there are variables present.
Often, these same people are charging for things like icon packs as well, meaning that even if they're only charging you for a template-style psd file sans imagery they don't own, they've kind of shot themselves in the foot. Not to mention, it's exceedingly damn hypocritical to pitch a fit about someone violating your rights when you're literally using other people's copyrighted materials lmao And that does tend to occur to me, yeah, it's a consequence of attorney friends and running businesses.
The other issues with this are that usage rights have to be stated at the time of purchase and morality clause-style shit, as pertains to products, is not legally binding.
When you purchase something like a psd file, that purchase acts as a sort of contract.
Think of like...buying a photoshop brush set - the person selling it puts very simple rules as to its use, such as: non-commercial use only, brush pack cannot be resold or distributed for free, separate brushes from the pack cannot be resold or distributed for free individually. Meaning that you own the brushes you bought, but you are not legally allowed to make real-life money from anything you use them in, and you cannot send the whole pack or files individually to friends for free or charge other people for them. By buying these, you have agreed to these stipulations of use and ownership.
If the person sells psd's and you agree to what they've stated about the use (you can't use them to do commissions you make IRL money from, you can't give them away to friends, etc.), that's binding even somewhere as casual as RP Land. The exchange of real currency makes it that serious.
However, there are limits to stipulations of use! One of those things is when you agreed - this person cannot, even one literal second, later change their terms of use and retroactively hold you to them. If they were okay with you not crediting them anywhere or using them in works you will gift others or charge others something like game currency for at the time you purchased, then that's it. Tough shit for them, not you, when they decide a month later that they want credit given where the work appears, that they do not want finished products gifted, or don't want you to make even in-game currency from them.
And that absolutely would apply to the morality wank, yes.
Except that this very morality wank comes with its own issues. Reality is not tumblr. In reality, at least in most instances and countries, you can't throw in a fucking morality clause regarding the buyer, use of item, or finished product.
Think of this in this way: Chik-Fil-A starts denying chicken and waffle fries to anyone suspected of being queer. They're legally allowed to run their business (as a private business, everything does have variables) with some things that are morally objectionable that they feel morally aligns with their religious beliefs. They're not allowed to deny queer workers a job or queer customers service, however, in accordance with overarching laws.
While "being gross" online in fiction is not like, making anyone a protected status person lol this is just an extreme example to drive home the point. Legally, when it comes to items/products be they digital or physical, your rights and responsibilities as the seller don't include your moral policing.
What your right is, is to make people uncomfortable to a degree, yeah. You absolutely can do that. You can state some nasty shit about prospective buyers you don't want. For example, they should (I mean, they should just grow up and get some real concerns, but) be stating that they would not like to see their psd's used by people on this following DNI list of idiocy, and they will block those users if possible to prevent interaction and purchase. That's really it, that's what they can do and the least immature way to proceed.
On the second: none of this logic would make me feel comfortable about interacting with them and their psd's in the future once they had outed themselves as morally objectionable and dangerous to me with this nonsense. And I would still feel anxious about using things I had previously bought because once harassed...it doesn't really go away, does it? It would just give me some ease about the latter with things I'd already made. Like, I could keep using the icons I'd made with those psd's with a little bit more comfort knowing that they honestly have not a leg to stand on outside of their harassment.
I might have the tendency to respond to harassment without much upset, but that doesn't mean I want to be harassed. Especially when I am not doing anything that draws that kind of attention. Not that harassment is warranted over anything, but when I make a PSA or answer an ask that I know is likely to get their attention and piss them off? That's an acceptable risk I am knowingly taking. When I'm just going about my life as a RPer, it isn't.
So, I don't feel like you're overthinking it or being too concerned! In no way did you sign up for getting unwanted attention, and because it has happened before, of course, you're trying to insulate yourself from having it happen again. That's totally reasonable!
Now, what you could do about it...
It's another of those situations in which we're only truly capable of controlling ourselves. Everyone else is kind of a NPC.
You don't have to do anything I'm suggesting, but these are things I would do!
I would block the shit out of anyone saying these things/trying to make them stipulations, yes.
By that, I mean that I would also visit blogs they appear to interact with and they'd be blocked as well. We can all reblog something like resources or a shit post from a user we do not agree with without realizing it, but when it's frequent reblogs, direct support, and friendly vibes going on, it's safer to assume that they are aware their friend sucks. More importantly, that they do not think their friend sucks and support their views.
Even if that is not the case, do you want someone else's repeated inattention to expose you to bad actors? Nope! So, don't run the risk of paying and otherwise interacting with the one resource blog in the group that doesn't express these views/"requirements," but does involve themselves with those who do.
Try to find people selling these resources, that are not connected to the problem ones, who do not have those views. Once a trend starts, it is very hard to stop until it has run its course naturally, so, this might be difficult and take some extreme effort. You might want to consider asking like-minded friends who use psd's where they got them so you can check those users out for yourself.
If they're all the same, problem, people...
Look for users well outside of your corner of the RPC(s) who are not asking to be paid. I know it sounds wild, but there really are RPers out there who just enjoy making things for others! I can think of at least one right off on my dash. They might not be advertising for doing psd's or psd packs, but either they might be willing to do so (especially if they do not appear policing-positive) if you explain what is going on, or they could at least fill some requests for you for fully made icons and such. Hell, people who love doing this work usually know others who do as well, and anti-policing people quite reasonably stick together. They could have suggestions for someone not vile selling psd's.
Depending on what it is you want your psd's to do, I promise you that it wouldn't take you very long to learn it. I know...I know lol that's both really easy for me say when I've been doing it for over twenty years and am about to piss some people off. The latter because the most common settings on popular psd's are extremely simple shit, a lot of that is the kind of thing you're expressly told not to do in design work. Like ramping up extreme contrast, pixelating the fuck out of an image, and turning up the primary colors only. Once you get to playing with photoshop or an equivalent, you will totally see what I mean. You can accidentally make an icon look identical to something that is on trend in the RPC. If that was what you were going for? You've hit the mark, and it's just repetition and tweaking it here and there!
Once you start playing with it, too, it's actually pretty intuitive when it comes to the basic things like resizing, adjusting colors and contrast, and doing easy effects like blurs and sharpening. Frankly, playing with it is better than half the tutorials you'll find because they get unnecessarily complicated when all you want to do is crop your muse's face, overlay some color, and add a damn dotted border. Listen, like I said, I have a lot of experience...and I find many tutorials frustrating and overwhelming!
It is not just you, you're not dumb or anything. People get very comfortable with something and when they try to explain it to others, they use terms and methods that are more advanced or specific to them than they realize. That's all!
If you have friends who make their own things, ask them some very basic questions about what you want to do. They know you, so, they'll know better how to explain to you, specifically. Just keep it simple until you've had some time to experiment! Ask things like, "I want to take this image, resize it to be an icon, and add an orange tint to the image while sharpening only my muse's features...how would I do that? Easy mode?"
And! You don't even have to pay for photoshop or pirate it anymore! Photopea is as an exact copy as possible entirely located in your browser for free. It's all overwhelming at first, a real case of too many options and ways to do the same thing, but the only way it gets less overwhelming is just diving into it. Dive in, get a little frustrated, have some successes, make some awesome discoveries, it gets a bit addicting in short order. Then, the tutorials and tips are so much easier to figure out and expand on, too.
If you'd like, you can always send me a pm here and ask me. I'm happy to try to explain how to do things, zero judgment or impatience. Just an additional option if you both decide to try learning and would feel comfortable doing that. Zero judgment as well on not wanting to do either of those things!
Okay, this one is much harder than learning PS basics because it's honestly a bit terrifying...the way these people are, they're going to take issue with you no matter what you do, and in the end, if they notice you and feel like bothering you, they will. There's literally nothing you can do about it. All you can do is try to buffer yourself, stay away from them, and be aware that you are not the problem.
Like with the AO3 thing or writing what could be viewed as toxic relationships. You can never write or be interested in a single, solitary thing that they're on about (and accusing you of doing in real life when the burning Eye of Moron turns your direction), but to them, you supporting the right of other people to do so is just as bad as doing it yourself. To them, the toxic relationships not only would be problematic, they'd be problematic enough. Being uncomfortable with their policing and feeling unsafe because of it is, to them, a red flag of how problematic you are. Writing anything they've deemed objectionable (or reading or viewing it, for that matter) anywhere, doesn't have to be on this platform or RP-adjacent, doesn't have to actually utilize any of their materials, is enough.
They're absolutely including you in who shouldn't use their shit. That's part of the "logic" and methodology of policing. Everyone is problematic, so, everyone can be labeled a pedo and harassed without too many people getting up in arms about it. No one is safe, so, everyone better behave. You don't actually have to be engaging with or enjoying things like underage, non/dubcon, rape, abusive relationships, etc.
It's gross, it's bullying, it's actually a problem...and there isn't much you can do.
All that is truly up to you is making an effort to avoid them, though, this is very often unfair and likely to get more unfair as resource blogs of all sorts deal in it more. At least, in this case, you do have some small bit of actionable power - by not ever buying from them. They wouldn't be charging if they did not either need or want the money, not giving it to them is a bigger hit than things like simply unfollowing/blocking, reblogging PSA's, and so on is!
Nope, it isn't like you're denying them some extreme amount of money by yourself, but every three, five, ten dollars is felt pretty hard when you desperately need money and/or are saving for something.
I know, I mean, I personally do know, that it's impossible to "get over" bullying, Anon. I'm in no way telling you to just get over it and move on, find some great well of not caring somewhere! What I'm saying is that there is power in not giving them power. The power to make you anxious, uncomfortable, unsafe, when you have every right to be here doing your thing and are not hurting anyone. And it might seem to be a deeply contrary sort of logic, but realizing and accepting that there are people out there who irrationally dislike you for literally no reason, that you cannot infallibly escape or avoid, despite doing nothing wrong is a bit empowering. Because it puts into perspective the things you can control, and when we know what is in our control, it's easier to just enjoy our time here without constantly waiting for the other shoe to drop. If it drops, we can go put it back in the closet where it belongs.
It starts to put a positive spin on the whole, damned if I do, damned if I don't feeling, if that makes sense? I'm probably way too tired to try to be explaining this lol I'm sorry!
Anyway, again, I'm not implying you can or should do any, let alone all, of those suggestions! I just really hope that something will help you feel even a little bit more at ease. It's an unfair situation, it isn't right, and you have every reason to be uncomfortable and stressed. If I could make it happen, you better believe that every policing asshole out there would be writing heartfelt apology letters and sending donations to everyone they've upset lol but...since I can't make that happen, all I can do is say what I, personally, do, would do, or have done.

Hello there! I've been questioning lately if I might be otherkin or otherhearted. I've checked out your post on terminology and how to go about questioning, and I'm still working thru that whole process, but I had a question. I've seen a couple times this term I'm completely unacquainted with, so I thought I would just like, ask what it is lol. Not a problem, and I’m glad you asked, because this is absolutely something you need to know. (And yes, I’m having a good day. I’m reading Toby Daye (excellent faerie series) and I have chips and my mate, so all is good.)
Wishkin is an old term, and we use it kind of because we have to. Tumblrkin is a subset of wishkin that is, you know, got its own brand of tumblr-being-godawful. Basically, wishkin is someone who warps the definition of ‘kin until they can fit in it even though they don’t actually do. Someone who wants really really hard for it to be real that they demand everyone else change to include them. If like... You experiment with labels and try to figure out if this community that’s calling to you is you or not, that’s not wishkin.
When we say wishkin, it’s a term based out of people with malicious intent. If you’re genuinely trying to learn and see if you fit, then you probably don’t fit the term.
You’ve doubtless seen the kids that go “Yeah I kin whatshisface from Undertale, doubles are fake and none of you are me, and you can’t draw this because I’m whatshisface and I said so, and if you kin something I personally deem harmful then you’re a pedophile / rapist / whatever the buzzword of the day is and you should kill yourself”. That’s tumblrkin, and wishkin as a whole do much the same.
I don’t mind people who are ignorant and trying to learn. We like helping. But people who stick their fingers in their ears and yell when we try to teach them, who insist people who have been here for 5+ years are wrong and delusional, who make a mockery of our community and misuse our terms so they can play games and use our community to start cults and get power trips, well, we don’t like them.
I can’t find the post on it right now for the life of me, but I have a post somewhere deep in my blog screenshotting a wishkin telling everyone what they’re allowed to be ‘kin of (no Problematic(TM) people, you know the type) and a few greymuzzles and I bitched about what wishkin keep doing.
The hard part about them is that yeah, you can usually see most trolls at a glance, but you need practice to be able to tell all wishkin from otherkin at a glance. Like, if someone’s saying “wah I’m a piece of grass and pots are slavery” they’re a troll, you don’t need practice to know that. But someone saying “I’m ‘kin as a coping mechanism please don’t yell at me” and then plugs their ears when you point out that’s copinglinking and insists that you’re actually kinphobic is wishkin, but might not look that way at first glance.
Effectively, they’re the people faking and misconstruing terms to get what they want. It meshes with purity culture and the idea that we can’t hurt fictional characters for they are just as real as real people and hurting them is a Harmful Activity you should be in jail for, because how better to shut someone down than to say you’re the character, and doing something you don’t like to said character is hurting you and they should go to jail and stop being so evil?

You’ll understand wishkin more when you see them in action. I have finished "The Southern Book Club's Guide to Slaying Vampires" by Grady Hendrix. 100% recommend. Loved it from beginning to end. Still fucking hate Patricia's husband. I also have opinions about the . . . erm. . . "vampire" cause that . . . that was new. I liked it, but don't wanna give anything away, just know that it does not sparkle.

Got this cute teapot as a game prize from the baby shower I went to on Saturday. Its so cute. I sadly do not have many loose leaf teas so I may have to rip open a bag to see how fine the mesh on the strainer is. It looks super fine, but I have been fooled before.

Finally finished Netflix's "Cowboy Bebop" live action adaption. As far as anime to live actions go this one was good. I loved the anime growing up, and even though it's been a while since I've watched it I do remember a decent amount of it to compare the two. I think Netflix did a great job with this one. The actors are great, waredrobe (especially Faye's) is on point, and the settings and ships look amazing. Changed some plot things around and added some things for fuller character purposes (ie: Jet's family) as adaptions tend to do, but I liked it. While it doesn't follow the anime to a T, it has the vibe and aesthetic. It's the anime without actually being the anime.
However, Ed is my favorite character so I kinda wish they'd popped up sooner, not as a lead in for a Season 2, but hey small thing to nitpick.

Hi! I really like your comic and your style and I was wondering: do you have any tips for people like me who would like to make their own comics? I've tried before but I never seemed to reach the 5th page without giving up.
Hiya! I have a few tips. I’m not trained or anything these are just some of my personal methods. it might not even work for you since everyone is different but it might help? They’re not really in a particular order either haha.
1.) Like what you’re making. This one is kind of obvious but really if you’re not completely invested in the story you’re making it’ll fall flat due to a lack of interest. Make your comic about things you like! Not like fleeting things like actual things you’ve enjoyed for awhile generally. Like spooky things, or cute things for example.
2.) Make alot of rough drafts. All at once. Flesh out an entire chapter really roughly. I mean real rough. like gesture drawing rough that takes like fifteen minutes or less a page. I’ll make about seventeen rough draft pages at once, simmer about it for a few days, and then go back to add more if im satisfied OR i’ll redo the chapter entirely. If you have a whole chapter roughed out it’ll be easier to work on it later because its already there for you.
3.)double back to check the pacing. Sometimes its weird in the rough drafts so you gotta throw some panels around or add an extra page. if it feels a bit off leave it and the come back a few hours or days later. youll find it out pretty quick after a break.
4.)dont be afraid to fix mistakes. If something looks weird or clashes with the page when you’re still doing lineart, go back to the roughdraft layer and fix it. zoom in and out of the page and check to make sure the drawing isnt tilted oddly or disproportional. i myself have issues with proportion so im constantly fixing bits and pieces using cntrl+T haha. It’ll save you trouble if you do it early instead of later when all the layers are in the way.
This next one is a little bit counterproductive to #4 but its for after the page is done.
5.) accept mistakes. You’re making alot of art for one page. you’ll notice looking back on finished pages that theres gonna be a lower quality over it bc of sheer quantity, but you’ll fall into a rhythm and realize you’re making a steady incline in quality overall if you keep moving forward. once you declare that a page is done, leave it.
6.) just do it. Youre gonna be afraid to start, wondering how its going to be received, wondering if its good enough. You have to shove the anxiety down as violently you can and draw it as if you’re your only audience. Do it for yourself, because you know that you’ll improve your skill and even yourself by making it.
7.) keep your files organized. I label every page for recovery as RECOVERY and then a number--for example, RECOVERY2.17 is for recovery chapter two page seventeen. your files, if placed alphabetically, will all be in a row for an easy browse. keep it all in their own place for easy finding.
8.) make a palette and references. Consistency is IMPORTANT. I drew Will a few times to get a feel for him before i started the comic, and used the eyedropper tool repeatedly so the colors were consistent in the comic. (I didn’t do the same for the pine twins and it shows if you go through the comic a bit fast lol) The palette doesnt have to be fancy, just make sure you know what everything is for. Also make sure you know your kerning and leading settings so the panels are consistent as well. (mine is below!) make a checklist if you need to for the math stuff, i use the stickies app on my laptop for a checklist of things to make sure to add before i say im done--like shading, for example, that for some reason i always forget. Also the font type, gen font size, details like tattoos and quirks.
9.) HAVE FUN. Inject some humor into your drawing to keep yourself entertained when you work--for example, i label my layers in puns and quips. the skin layer is usually called “skiiiiiiiiin” and copies are usually called “___ 2: electric boogaloo”. when i made homestuck drawings id label them with a character quirk instead haha. Also its good to listen to podcasts or music when you work. I listen to music, The Adventure Zone, Welcome to Night Vale, Game Grumps or The Yogscast when i’m working. Audiobooks are also a good idea! Have it in a playlist so you dont have to stop drawing to change it.
10.) Don’t let yourself get distracted, but take breaks when you need them. Food and hydration as well as bathroom breaks are v important. You cant survive to draw if you dont eat, and keep in mind that being dehydrated gives you headaches and messes with workflow. eat that food. dont die. not eating messes with your psyche--youre more likely to be depressed/make it worse/stope working if you dont eat so do that shit. keep some snacks and a waterbottle handy. also lower the caffeine shakes are good for some styles but not others lmfao.
also: avoid tumblr when working. give yourself a set time/timelimit to work. you’ll realize that once you start its easier to keep rolling but you cant be interrupted or itll be harder to get back to in the middle when scrolling the many delightful distractions of the internet. be brisk in your breaks.
11.) i have depression so this is especially important--REMEMBER TO TAKE YOUR MEDS IF YOU HAVE ANY. p self explanatory. i go through withdrawals if i dont and get the worst migraines so i mean keep on top of that shit.
12.)Uh hhhh thats all i got OH WAIT reward yourself for finishing pages. Be it a treat or a nice bubble bath or some videogame time. Whatever you want. just reward yourself for working. even if its work you weren't entirely satisfied with, have something to look forward to when you finish, and tell yourself you did well because you just did a fuckton of work. BE PROUD
(also some people say to tell other people about what youre doing so theyll check up on you to make sure youre working but?? i kind of feel like im being nagged if thats the case so that just depends on you lol. )
