Madhabi Mukherjee (Charulata, The Big City, The Coward)—Madhabi Mukherjee is legendary for her nuanced and sensitive performances in some of the classics of Bengali cinema particularly her roles in Satyajit Ray's films
Angela Lansbury (The Harvey Girls, The Court Jester, The Manchurian Candidate)—The babe, the myth, the legend. In her own words her early hollywood roles were "a series of venal bitches" and they were all glorious. Half of them wanted to kill you and you probably would have thanked them. She even goes toe to toe with Judy Garland in The Harvey Girls! That said, she was chronically underused and misused during this era - she was just 36 when she was cast as Elvis Presley's mother in Blue Hawaii and a few years later commented that she'd played so many 'old hags' that most people thought she was in her 60s. She thought she was "all talent, no looks" but she was the full package! Post-1970 I hope we all know what an incredibly talented and compassionate badass she was, but I feel like not enough people know her early roles as a hot (often villainous) young thing.

happy new year everyone!! 🌟✨ it's been almost exactly a year since i first tentatively poked my head into this little space here on tumblr, and being part of the wonderful am/miles/tlsp community here with you all has truly been one of the highlights of my 2023 💗
as i'm sure is the case for most of us, it's been a year of ups and downs for me. i've been lucky enough to experience some amazing things (living in a new city, reconnecting with my creativity, getting my dream job, discovering music that speaks to my soul, making new friends, reading some amazing books) and human enough to experience some less incredible things (chronic pain, family difficulties, discovering my dream job is not in fact my dream job, getting long covid, the ever uphill battle of healing from trauma). through it all, this space has been a continued solace and source of joy, where i've met some truly special people and felt part of a little community where i get to have fun and flail and just be me. i can't even begin to express how grateful i am to be part of a space like this, or how grateful i am to everyone here who makes it what it is ✨
i also just wanted to say a quick thank you to everyone who has supported me with my writing over this past year, whether that's through kudos or comments or messages or amazing cheerleading/editing help. one of the absolute gifts of discovering this fandom has been the writing fic side of it. maybe it sounds silly, but writing four walls has genuinely been one of the highlights and biggest achievements of my year. writing has always been something incredibly close to my heart, but my degree left me totally sapped of inspiration and confidence, and i'd been struggling for a while to climb out of that after graduating. something about alex and miles just instantly sparked off inspiration in me that i hadn't felt for a long time, and getting to write about them over the past year has reminded me of the sheer joy of creating and the magic of getting to share that with people ✨
it's something that's finally given me the confidence to pick up my own original writing again too, and i couldn't be more grateful to alex and his wonderful lyrics (particularly the entirety of humbug) and to everyone who's supported my fic ventures for helping me reconnect to and explore my creativity. it's the best feeling in the world to finally feel like i'm coming home to that part of myself and carving out a proper space for it in my life 💗
2023 was far from perfect, but it was filled with so many brilliant moments of illumination and i feel i am leaving it with a deeper sense of myself and my path moving forward. i know it's going to be a rocky one at times, but i am excited for what 2024 holds in store for me - and i can't wait to continue flailing with you all over all things milex and to enjoy all the amazing fics/gifsets/posts/art to come!
wishing all of you a year ahead full of wonderful moments and new experiences and fulfilment 💫✨ i really am more grateful than i'll ever be able to adequately express for this space here, and to all the amazing people i've been lucky enough to get to know through it. here's to an amazing 2024 for all of us 💗💞🩷💓💖💕💝

They've put up with an unfair amount of prickliness and distrust on my part with grace and love. @evcndiaz has also put up with me dropping into her inbox with fun (horrifying) facts about human anatomy, which earns her a gold medal. And of course @givemeunicorns @devilsbrokerank @captainofthefallen and @extasiswings continue to be my rocks and remind me that there are good people in this world, and that some of those good people might actually love me.
Favorite Creation You Posted This Year: Genuinely I feel like with my Halloween fics I have done the best work in my fanfiction career. I'm shocked at how proud I am of the fanfics I put out this year, including my Wednesday fic and my Xedgin fics. It's impossible for me to choose a favorite.

People Who Brightened Your Year: @lisbonsteresa always and forever brightens my days, and it was a delight this year to be in the same fandom again as she got me hooked on The Mentalist, @mistmarauder always makes me laugh even (especially) when she's roasting me, and @extasiswings helped me get away from the real world a couple times when I needed it.

Five of Your Favorite Authors This Year: I'll be honest I have barely read any fanfic this year since I simply haven't had time but a quick shout out again to @kittykatthetacodemon because Mist forced me to read her fanfics at gunpoint and I've never been so happy to be at gunpoint after reading them. I've reread her Hobbs & Shaw fics literally a dozen times, she nails the hysterical over-the-top banter from the F&F films and it has me giggling every time.
Oh and @henswilsons. Forever and always making me laugh with your delightful fics. Never stop, dear.

I miss Jonsa so much but I miss the fandom so much more. I missed the emotion of coming to tumblr and always finding theories of what would happen next, great authors writing brilliant fics, just people enjoying art and talking about it for so many years. There were chat groups and so many ways to share your theories and analysis time and time again. Even when season 7-8 aired and we suffered and got frustrated and sad together.... it was wonderful it was a shared experience but now there are really few people still in the fandom and it's just sad that now feels so lonely when it used to be my comfort place.
I’m so sorry you feel that way, anon! I chose to leave the one jonsa discord I was part of not long after joining it, so I don’t feel quite the same sense of loss, although I sympathize with your feelings of bereavement. The tags aren’t as active as they once were, but considering how much we hated how they wrote Jon and how long ago GoT ended, I think our fandom does a remarkable job in still finding things to talk about. We still occasionally get new art (lovely, gorgeous, pls we are not worthy more here), we still have active fic writers (a writer of all AUs, modern AUs, on a crime and horror kick, historical and canon-verse AUs, so many more authors -fic tag!), and we even still get new gifsets and so many parallels!
I understand it isn’t the same, your favorite writer may have left the fandom, there isn’t a constant flow of new content, but it makes me even more grateful for those who still do attempt to contribute to the fandom, by creating or by encouraging those who do, by simply reblogging or leaving a comment or sending an ask. It will never be the same, but still find so much joy in our little corner of the fandom.
Also, the announcement of the Jonsquel has some show fans occasionally poking their heads in, so when we get a release date for that, I think there are a lot of people ready to get the buzz again! If you want to dm, I’ll happily chat about GoT with you, or feel free to send asks with headcanons etc. Many of us still enjoy talking about jonsa even if we aren't spontaneously overflowing with ideas!

Hi ABL!! This is more of a data question then anything but it might not actually be answerable.
How does the world of BL define a successful show? Is it money made on ads revenue? Streams? Trending hashtags??
Granted in North American media I also couldn’t answer this question, but I could gage based on…article reviews or critical acclaim. Or something.
I see soooooo many people saying something flopped or was massively successful, but truly. How on earth are we making those benchmarks?
I figure you might have at least a tiny sliver of insight into how this works! Or at least a key word I can take to google LOL. Thanks as always!!!!!

Well for GMMTV et al, it's YT views. So that's easy. We can see those eyeballs outright.
The streaming platforms obfuscate data (that is one of the reasons SAG is still on strike) but we can see things like where it's ranked on their internal leader boards (what's "popular on Viki" for example). How many reviews something has. How many collections and lists it's on. How many people on MDL have it listed as "currently watching"
More key is how much chatter a show is getting. How many comments. But also...
Literally when you do a Google search for that IP:
How are the hit returns?
How many top spots does it hold above the fold on Google main (using private or incognito mode).
Are people blogging about it? Think pieces?
Are there reaction vids?
FMVs?
Reddit chatter?
BTS's?
Interviews with actors?
The amount of fan content generated around an IP tells you a lot about the number of viewers - since it is all a numbers game. Commenters (those who visibly/trackably react to content) are more common than (content) creators. Ghosts (passive consumers) are more common than commenters.
There are those in EntDA working on formulas for predictive fan base numbers sourced in the ratios of these.
Lemme try to explain...
In other words, the fans who create content for IPs (fanfic, art, meta analysis, FMVs, etc...) are the rarest. Those who interact with the content, leave star reviews, comment on the above fan-made content, engage in discourse, leave YT comments, are the second rarest. Those who tend to do nothing more than ... well, ghost (maybe have a subscription, maybe save the vid to a playlist or on MDL, maybe read this on Tumblr but don't react to it). They are the largest contingent but hardest to track.
If we could get a good handle on the first 2, there's usually a predictable ratio that can be drawn for the fan base as a whole, the largest number 3 - ghosts.
For example:
For every 1 creator there are 100 commenters and 1000 ghosts. Something like that.
However the nature of this ratio is dependent on venue and vocality of the fan base (often a generational thing). So like, most Kpop stans are vocal, but 4th gen stans tend to be more noisy online, even though 3rd gen groups tend to have bigger overall fan bases.
(Superstars, like super hits, are non-viable non-predictive outliers. There can never be another KP, or 2g, and we can't use their numbers to predict anything. Just like Taylor Swift or BTS can't be used to predict/estimate the success of a new pop venture).
back to the BL fandom
Here on Tumblr you can tell what's popular by which ones are getting the most gifsets.
That's how we know Only Friends is out performing Dangerous Romance. (I mean I could check the numbers on YT but I don't really have to.)
Also, I bet you good money Kiseki is garnering more eyeballs than You Are Mine. Again, I can say that with confidence just based on the content that's being created for that IP in this one venue.
On a practical level, in the ET industry, if there is chatter about a BL outside of BL circles (as happened with KP) you know it's gotten HUGE (by BL standards).
The moral of this story, incidentally, is if you like a thing, doesn't matter how shy you are, if you want it to continue, get a second season, whatever, you gotta NOT JUST WATCH IT BUT TALK about it. Online, where careers are made and broken. Squeaky wheel and all that.
Entertainment is about attention. More money is always thrown at the thing getting the most attention.
Just like politics.

What’s a fic you’ve read more than once?
we drag ourselves hand over hand by jesuisgourde. i read it for the first time pretty recently and i've read it at least five or six times since. there's untagged major character death, okay? there’s uncertainty and hope and grief and anger. it is well written and feels authentic. there’s also sweetness and family and love. it is Fucking Sad. it is painful. but it’s so worth it!
no one needs to know how many times i've read the taming of mickey milkovich by @whatthebodygraspsnot it's between me and god. but if you’re into upset mickey acting out and ian being rough and sweet all at the same time and setting things straight and hot bjs, you should also read it.
and i have only indecent things to say about and i'm your warm receiver by @metalheadmickey FAVE. i think i commented something about secondhand subspace and i am not kidding. it does things to me.
also cooperative gameplay by grayola. i've only read it twice but i'm new here and it's long so it feels like a thing.
What’s a gifset you always have to reblog?
you may have noticed i will always reblog mickey's brown sweater. haters are WRONG. and the 5x10 dugouts scene because bloody kisses are hot and i love fictional violence. and also that scene in the hallway with that fucking purple robe. i can't remember the episode but it’s the scene where ian looks like he's gonna devour mickey and mickey is just having the time of his life.
What’s a headcanon you can’t stop thinking about?
thinking about mickey and the gallaghers all the time.
mickey and carl are besties and they do the dumbest, shadiest shit together. i think they like exploding things and playing with fire and pulling off semi-dangerous pranks. they love to shoot together (ian isn't allowed to come because he's better than they are). they have the same taste in video games and they are insufferably competitive. they're both the biggest softies with animals (the whole cat thing in s1 never happened in this house). actually they're both just huge softies in general. like they're all family oriented but i think lip tried to impose his will cause he thinks he knows best and will try to Teach Lessons. and debbie struggles sometimes because her siblings have been assholes to her at times and i think she might want to reciprocate sometimes. and ian is torn between finally prioritizing himself and mickey sometimes. but i think carl and mickey are just no questions asked generous and showing tf up regardless of how they feel about a situation because that's what family does. and also they are chaos uncles and don't even try to hide it. they're giving the kids sweets at all hours and toy guns and encouraging rough play. when the kids are teens they're the ones giving them their first beers and telling them they're overpaying for weed. they're gonna be on speeddial to pick them up from parties and the police station. i also think that when carl leaves policing (because just no) and ian finds what makes him happy, carl joins mickey in security.
mickey and debbie are legit close friends. mickey doesn't like to talk to mandy about his relationship b/c she always takes ian's side or makes assumptions about mickey because of their past. but debbie is a great sounding board and i think mickey is good for her too. they're honest with each other in a very matter-of-fact way. mickey appreciates having someone besides ian really consider him. debbie likes being treated like a capable adult. and mickey respects her and takes an interest in her job. and they both feel strongly about self-advocating, ie not taking any shit. whatever weirdness the gallaghers had about debbie's sexuality mickey DOES NOT. i think they go out to gay bars together sans ian and have beers. and mickey will tease debbie about her taste in women but also be her wingman. he’s surprisingly good at it and can actually pick out good matches for her. they tag team planning family events and eventually rope in tammi. they make the holidays so nice and fun and start new traditions.
What’s a fanart you love looking at?
literally anything from @darthvaders-wife. i went to patreon for her uncensored kinktober stuff but her notting hill comic is so good i cry. also really enjoying @gallavichonly's style esp their mickey. the energy is just perfect! and i think about @harukanaaaa's baby ian often. he's so precious.
What’s something you’ve discovered since entering this fandom? A new trope you love? A different analysis of the show? Something else?
🐙. shameless gave me so many Disappointments and Sorrows that it's taken my fandom consumption to new lows. in a good way! gallavich's canon development is so goddamn tragic that fic writers can put them in any hurt/comfort/sick/angsty/death situation and i will enjoy it and ask for more.
What’s an underrated trope or concept you’d like to see more of? mickey's floopy hair and million layers and cutoff shirts and his whole Deal immediately read so queer to me. it may just be me. i want his aesthetic. anyway i love gnc/trans mickey. also aging, hairier, and/or chubby husbands. i love cam's abs and noel's tiny waist as much as the next guy but sometimes i want ian and mickey's bodies to be as soft as their hearts. they're so horny for each other i just think they'd both be into there being more flesh to grab and bite. and i want graying hair and wrinkles and glasses and sex that's maybe less acrobatic but just gets nastier and more intimate. also i need ian 'i love smells' gallagher to drag his face through mickey's sweaty armpits more often and give mickey chest hair cause ian loves rubbing against that too. and i want mickey pulling on ian's beard and playing with his leg hair. idk i'm just thinking about their soft bellies and sweat-matted happy trails rubbing together. look i'm a little worked up about them and perpetually horny. someone should stop me because i am embarrassing!! also we need more fisting. as much as we love ian's hands, mickey loves them more and he is not scared. put one inside him.
What’s a plot hole you wish had been answered or resolved?
why didn't we get them dealing with 3x06? what happened to yevgeny? was he mickey's or not? and regardless, how did mickey and ian deal with losing him?
why'd they do svet so dirty? she just wanted stability and family and honestly i think svet+gallavich and svet+kev and v were both promising dynamics.
hated the way they wrote fiona out. and then never mentioned her?
i wanted more gallagher siblings screen time and i specifically mean ian, debbie, carl, and liam.
i still don't understand what happened with the house. carl's money paid for it but in fiona's name. then she gave it to debbie? lip couldn't have sold it no matter who sided with him so what was the point of that storyline? also s10-11 were all over the place tonally.

@ ur tags on that excellent gifset: i got into this show for joe keery and i have every gator-related tag blacklisted because the tiktok thirst girlies are so tiring fhdvdgs. anyway if you have thoughts/theories on munch i cant stop thinking about him and wondering what the hell his deal is
hey! yeah, i really like joe and think he's doing a great job in the show, but i've also found the tags a bit overwhelming due to the influx of his fans, especially as a more longtime fargo enjoyer. i tentatively tagged gator at first on those sets and was met with just. way too many people only reblogging for him and ignoring munch, so i untagged to try and avoid some of that and added that comment as a disclaimer so ppl wouldn't think i was intentionally ignoring him/trying to be a hater lol
as for my thoughts on munch...
if you’re new to fargo, there’s always one weird supernatural element to every season (a character implied to be the devil himself in s1, ufos in s2, purgatory in s3, a family curse involving ghosts in s4), and munch is definitely that element this season. i feel like the show itself leaves it up to interpretation whether or not the audience chooses to believe munch is actually the same person/a reincarnation of the 16th century sin eater, but sam spruell takes it pretty literally and a lot of my thoughts about munch are mostly just based around what he’s said about the character. regardless of what you prefer to believe about his identity, munch is meant to represent the underclass and how they are forced to suffer because of/bear the weight of the sins of people in power, like roy
he’s presumably lived his entire life trapped in a cycle of poverty and crime, and a desire for some kind of reprieve from all of his suffering is what's led him to the old woman, irma, who sam’s described as someone who’s also experienced significant hardship and abuse throughout her life (really great insight from sam and noah hawley about that and munch in general in this article!). he said munch started staying there with the hope that the two could look after each other, but based on the next episode trailer and other big spoilers that have been shared online, that dream’s about to come crashing down big time. 😬 hopefully irma makes it out okay, but at least one minor (as of yet unintroduced) character’s dying at her house next ep and i think it’ll likely end with munch capturing gator and being the one who’s leading him around on that rope, as seen in the trailers. dot’s also heading to the tillman’s, so it’s possible their storylines will finally converge again soon
a mutual and i were just chatting about this the other day, but i would definitely love if he ends up teaming up with dot and potentially goes out with some sort of sense of peace or absolution by helping take down the tillmans. he seems really reverent whenever he refers to her as a tiger and, given the season’s theme of debt and munch’s code about honoring debt, i wouldn’t be surprised if he considers himself somewhat indebted to her for choosing to spare his life when she could have killed him at the gas station, especially with how much they lingered on her standing over him in that scene
alternatively, assuming he gets no peace/absolution, i’d also like if they at least kept the mystery around his character alive with a more ambiguous death? the show itself treats him as some sort of strange specter, implying he’s immortal with the flashback and having witt joke that the gas station cameras couldn’t have captured munch even if they had been working because he’s like a ghost. so, maybe something like him appearing to die, but upon returning to the scene later his body is missing without explanation, similar to the gas station scene, continuing to leave his true nature and his ending up to the audience’s interpretation (obvs would also love it if he vanished without being mortally wounded at all too)
that’s what I would LIKE, anyway, but you never know with fargo! my favorite character last season got sucked up into a tornado lol. there are no shots of munch in the trailers beyond the next ep, and it’s always possible he could die sooner than expected or in a much more villainous or anticlimactic way than i’m imagining! either way, he's already climbed his way to the very top of my list of fargo faves

hi do you have any tips for writing?
Hi! I’m flattered you’ve asked me. I enjoy writing a lot but I always feel like i’m still learning so an ask like this is a bit of a surprise in a way because I’m so in awe of so many other writers that I don’t feel qualified to give advice. But here are some random thoughts and I hope they are inspiring:
Write. That probably seems really obvious. But just write. You don’t have to post it. Just write dialogue or random paragraphs or interesting thoughts. Just write. Anything you feel is good, stick it in your drafts.
Edit it and focus on spelling and grammar. But don’t worry about it so much that you feel you can’t post it. Chances are, if you’re worried about a minor plot point or a weird sentence, your readers will either not notice or love it.
I first started reading fandom years and years ago and I didn’t write at all because I was so nervous and anxious and worried about what I might write. It was an utter waste of time. I could have been writing for years and I didn’t. I regret it.
If you want to share your work - go for it. The Gallavich fandom is an especially kind and supportive place. So all those worries you might have? They’re probably bullshit because everyone here is so welcoming.
Try @galladrabbles - it’s such a wonderful challenge because you can just try sharing a short piece of writing and see how you feel. 100 words is very easy and each weekly prompt is very inspiring.
Read. Read everything and anything. Articles/newspapers, non fiction, fiction of all genres, fanfiction - recent and old, from any fandom. Read and reread, any type of writing. It’ll be useful and interesting and you’ll learn a lot in terms of style, narration, dialogue, plotting, words and ideas.
Make comments on fanfic you’ve enjoyed. I always find this is useful in terms of leaving feedback which is always nice for the author but also in terms of clarifying to yourself what has been especially enjoyable. Did you like the plot or the dialogue or the overall feel of the story? Think about it and share it with the author. It’ll be great for them but it will also allow you to realise what you like in a story.
Remember that no one starts out as a fantastic author with millions of comments and kudos and hits. Everyone starts out as a beginner. And they were just as nervous or lost as you might feel. And probably still are when it comes to sharing new work sometimes.
Practice is important. And that means writing when you can and as often as you are able. Try different genres or tropes or writing styles. Find out what works for you and what doesn’t. Experiment in your drafts or take part in challenges.
Get silly and indulgent with fandom on tumblr (or other social media) because interacting with fellow fans on here is always inspiring. Whether it’s reading/making comments on posts or having ideas because of gifsets or edits or headcanons or just engaging with meta that allows you to see certain moments in canon in a new way - this is a great place to find inspiration.
Ultimately, just have fun. Play around with writing and storytelling. You asked for writing tips and I’m assuming you meant fandom writing. So just go for it, write and share your work. I was scared and intimidated for years about writing. It was a waste of time. Now I love writing. It’s such a great hobby and I’m so glad I jumped in and did it.
And take care of yourself, write when you want to and share when you want to. Writing in fandom should be a fun hobby for you.

i just finished reading all that's left is hurt and what a brilliant story. all the pain and heartbreak you put me through was so worth it, so thank you for all the hard work you put into the story.
so i've got a small question because i really want to write my own destiel fic, and i hope my question doesn't come as mean, and i was wondering, how do you deal with your fics not being popular enough? your fic is amazing and it has less that 10k hits, so like, how do you find the motivation to put so much work when you see that you're not getting many hits? i know it's not the most important thing when it comes to writting, but knowing that what i write will probably flop kind of fills me with dread, so how do you find the motivation to keep writting even when your fic is not as popular and you might've hoped it to be?
i would really like to know your thoughts on this (and i really hope i didn't offend you)
First of all, you didn't offend me, anon, so don't worry. And second of all, I'm glad you enjoyed my fic :')
Okay, so to your questions. I would be lying if I said that I don't sometimes get disappointed when I see any of my stories aren't as popular as I hoped them to be. When I started writing Destiel fics and publishing them, I was always so jealous of those other fics that got so damn popular and people talked about them, because I wanted to create a story that made people talk about it, I wanted my story to be one of those that you see everyone recommend on Tumblr, a story that people think about 24/7, a story that inspires people to create fanart. Hell, I still want that, because as a writer, I want my stories to impact people in some way, just like my favorite Destiel fics have also impacted me in a way.
But as I've gotten older, I've realized that my stories impact people. Maybe it's not the kind of stuff that makes people create posts, or gifsets, or fanart, it's not a fic that everyone recognizes by name alone, but it impacts them to leave kudos, to leave some comments and to subscribe to my story because they're invested in it and want to know how it ends. And yeah, maybe it's just only 10 people or maybe it's 500 people instead of thousands of people as it happens with a lot of other stories, but even if it's just 1 single person who it's moved by my story, it's still fucking awesome. Something I created got an impact on someone. Someone, out there, enjoyed what I did.
And yeah, maybe sometimes you spend so much time and do a lot of hard work to write something and it can be heartbreaking to see that your craft doesn't connect with people. Sometimes life is like that, unfortunately. You put all your heart and work into something and it is still not enough. But I can tell you that it will be enough for at least one person, and I've learnt that even when it's only one person who comments on your story, who praises it, it's more than enough. There was one story that I wrote that I only showed to one person, and every comment he gave me about it was a boost of serotonin for me.
So yeah, writing is scary and hard. You pour so much of your heart into that craft, so it can be heartbreaking to see that barely anyone reads it or likes it, but I promise you that writing also can feel amazing. I still love writing about Dean and Cas after 10 years doing so. I still love the process, even if sometimes it can be scary. But I love writing so damn much. I feel free when I write. So if you also feel that way, I highly encourage you to write your fic and post it. It might be scary and difficult sometimes, but I promise you that the moment you see just one person leaving you a comment, even if it just consists on exclamation points, you'll find yourself smiling and you'll know that maybe you're not the most popular author, but you're still good enough.

The summer is almost here so it’s about time to have some fun! Are you a writer or an artist? Have you seen at least one movie or series with Richard Armitage? It’s all pretty straightforward. Every Sunday (starting May 29th) we’re going to post a set of 7 RA-related prompts for the upcoming week of June. We are going to send the prompts a few days in advance each week so that everyone has enough time to prepare. Posting starts on June 1st.
There is going to be one prompt for each day of June consisting of three elements: a trope, a quote, and an image. You can pick one of them, two – or all three of them, whatever inspires you the most. Feel free to create works (fics and ficlets, art and sketches, drabbles, moodboards, gifsets and so on) for all 30 June prompts – or just pick the ones you like. It’s up to you!

💦 Do I really need to write one fic/create one art every day in June?
Not at all! You can choose to use as many prompts as you like. It can be one prompt a day, one prompt a week or one prompt in total — whatever feels best for you. The only requirement is to post the final works not later than on July 7th. We encourage you to post your works on the days they belong to (so it’s best to post a fic for June 1st prompt on June 1st) , but we know everyone’s lives are busy so it’s okay if you happen to post them a bit later.
💦 How long should my fic be? How detailed should my art be?
Because of the nature of this little event, we chose to leave this decision to you. It’s a busy month for everyone! Your work can be as long (or short) and as detailed as you like. No requirements. Your fic can be one sentence long and your moodboard can contain two or three images, including the one in the prompt, and it will still be fine!
💦 Can I write fics/create art in advance?
Of course! We only ask you to post it in June (preferably on the prompt dates). In case you are a bit delayed, make sure to post your last works on July 7th latest so we can add it to our masterlists.
💦 I want to write a fic about Thorin, but the prompt feels like a Modern AU to me. Can I write modern!Thorin instead?
That’s a great idea and yes! Any AUs are allowed, go wild and write spaceship captain Raymond de Merville, victorian Lucas North, pirate John Thornton, inquisitor Father Quart, bodyguard Thorin - whatever your imagination throws at you. As long as these characters are unmistakably themselves, all is good! (And yes, Everyone Lives AU is also a valid choice!)
💦 Can I create a NSFW piece?
Yes, of course you can. Just please remember to tag it in an appropriate way and use all the usual tumblr precautions for posting NSFW content.

I also avoid Twitter/X. I started avoiding it when I was in the marvel fandom. Also,the Stranger Things fandom. There are so many shippers who think female characters "get in the way" of their MLM ships. I feel like a small amount of Daisybilly shippers attack Camila morrone "gets in the way" of Daisybilly. I have had a good experience with Daisybilly shippers so far,like @jesstasticvoyage,so that's good. Plus,x is full of Sam Claflin hate,as you said. It's just too much drama for my anxiety to handle.
I used to use twitter for politics/current events stuff, not fandom stuff, I didn't even know there were shippers and fandoms on twitter until I saw people talk about it here. I actually had a very good experience with twitter, it was an immense help for me after the Brexit referendum, connecting with Remainers (I'm an EU citizen living in UK so you can imagine it's not been the best time for me). The platform went downhill after Musk took over, I could talk about that a lot, but don't let me derail this post. Bottom line is, it was good for me when I needed it and let's leave it at that.
As for Sam Claflin, I used to also search twitter for his name too, until I eventually learned it was not doing me any good. Idk how Jess does it, (I keep saying that Sam owes her a dinner at the very least, lol). I only know about the veneer comments from her. I just like writing and blogging, so the way I deal with things is to make my own post on the topic and if it gets through to someone, great, if not, life goes on, I have done my part. (Be the change you wish to see is the mantra I live by.) I've not had any altercation with any d/b shipper, bc I stay away from them, I've blocked all possible tags. Well, apart from that one person who replied to my gifset (which kinda shook me bc I couldn't believe their audacity) but I deleted the comments and blocked them, so that was the end of it. Also Camila Morrone was amazing and anyone who attacks her is a loser, I said what I said!

RRR Fandom Boost Bingo
Hello lovelies!
Like I recently said, I’ve been in this fandom for 7 months and they have been an absolute blast. But because I’ve been around so long, I have noticed that we have had a few friends fade away, even as we welcome so many new ones.
I have also noticed that we are not responding or commenting as much as we used to back then, and hey, I get it. Real life is a LOT.
I came across this challenge initially proposed by @thehighfiveproject, aimed at boosting fandom interaction. They did such a great job, and I was very impressed with their challenge, so I just tweaked it a little to suit our little fandom a bit more. But major credit for the idea/the bingo square prompts and descriptions goes to them only. Here is the link to the original card that I adapted!
I am a firm believer that fandoms live and die by how much people interact with each other, and are assured they’re not shouting into an empty void. So I thought this challenge would be a low-key game we could share to shower the fanwork creators with more love.
That being said, what are the things you need to know?
- No sign-ups, if you want to play, just download a copy of the image and play along
- For each task that you accomplish, “cover” that space like in Bingo (I use MS Paint to place a shape over the square)
- The challenge runs from February 1st to February 15th, two whole weeks to spread the love!
- You can fill one square, or all of them. If you do fill all 9 tasks, then I will write something for you (min 300 words, no NSFW; I can’t guarantee a turn around time, but will definitely answer all of them)
So what do each of the tasks consist of?
- ‘leave kudos/likes on 3 fanworks’
This is the easiest one! Just go out and find 3 fanworks you like and leave a kudos or a like on it. It’s a small gesture but it makes a creator know that someone actually interacted with their work.
- ‘reblog an art post’
Find any art post you like and share it! Here’s the catch: you need to interact with it a little. When you reblog/retweet, please tell the creator what you thought about the piece – you can add some tags, or reply to the post, or quote-retweet or add a comment, or anything! A simple “I love this!” is nice but some details are even better (“your linework is so good!” or “that shade of blue is perfect”).
- ‘message a fandom creator’
‘Creator’ here can mean anyone who makes *anything* to do with fandom: art, edits, fic, meta, hoodies or dolls – if they’ve made anything, they’re a creator, and now’s your chance to let them know they’re appreciated. Send a message letting them know that you enjoyed their work!
- ‘reblog an edit/meta post’
Same as the above, but for edits/meta posts! Edits can include a gif set, or a set of screencaps, or even a fanvid. And, again, some simple tags/replies are needed. “I love that song choice!” for a vid or “great coloring!” on a gifset can let people know their work is being appreciated.
Otherwise, reblog a meta post. Meta posts are those three sentence headcanons to an essay-length dissection of why Character X is the absolute best character. It’s even better if you respond to the meta, whether that’s agreeing or (respectfully!) adding your own thoughts, but sharing it is the main thing here.
- ‘reblog a fic post’
Same as the above, but for fic! Again, tags/replies/comments are needed, preferably with a little detail. You don’t need to be super eloquent or leave a detailed review (although if you have time/energy, that would be appreciated!); a tag as simple as “that was really cute” or “great characterization!” will do.
- ‘comment on a fanfic/ comment on a fanart’
Find a fic and a fanart, and leave a comment. That’s it! Again, no need to leave a novel-length comment (unless you’re inspired!) – a sentence or two is all we’re asking for this square to be considered complete. This is a great opportunity to let a writer know how their piece made you feel, or what section you particularly liked.
- ‘make a rec post’
This is a chance to tell your fandom friends about something they need to see. You can rec a fic, an artist, an author – any kind of fandom thing that you want to make sure people see. This doesn’t have to be long or complicated, but feel free to go into as much detail as you want! Just make your own post on Tumblr and give that thing you loved a little fanfare.
- And lastly, this one is optional, but I think it would be cute. ‘RRR Fandom Appreciation’. Just make a post and say in a few words something you really enjoy about this fandom in particular. Be it hyping up the friends you’ve made, or any aspect of the fandom you want to share your love for.
Ultimately the challenge’s main purpose is to get people talking to each other.

...I haven't seen a single toku blog receive any ask about a thea someone? And I follow quite a lot. So unless you're hanging out in some really weird circle of it... (after all, due to various reasons, toku tumblr is more like a bunch of bubbles instead of one monolith.)
What I HAVE seen are a lot of them still reblogging satoryuga's gifsets with positive tags, even to this day. From what I understand, most of them are pretty sure that she isn't a terf, and are against the re-uploader. However, they're not sure who is behind it. And judging by how this re-uploader has the means to doxx extremely personal info of random Tumblr users and create loads of sockpuppets, anything is possible. (For all we know, that person could be the re-uploader, or it could be some distraction to hide the real re-uploader's identity.)
This is also why--out of the fans I've spoken to--they've been trying to deal with the situation quietly (reporting hate comments, leaving supportive DMs to satoryuga, etc). We've already seen from the re-uploader's 2nd blog post (where they @ 'd a few people that were against the re-uploader for different reasons) that they're willing to threaten others too. If anything, I think the more accurate thing to do is ask why they would @ those users in particular (since by @ -ing them, they're turning those bloggers into targets). Clearly the re-uploader sees those people as either threats or easy targets to have beef with.
i'm not hanging out in any weird circles i promise you, everyone i follow in the fandom are just other girls who like sentai. yesterday i saw quite a few people getting told to "block and dni" with thea-nymo which is the real account of the reuploader if you didn't know that, there were even people outside of the fandom getting asks which makes no sense because people who don't know what sentai is definitely wouldn't know who satoryuga is lol
i get the fear around the doxxing, i don't think anybody should be forced to do anything they're uncomfortable with and if there's people in the fandom who aren't liking or making shady posts about satoryuga and have privately reached out to her because that's what they're comfortable with then that's great, more power to them.
i mean, i never in my life got so many grown adults telling me to get graphically and violently raped and murdered until i called them out on harassing satoryuga, i know most people would not have the stomach for that kind of stuff so i fully understand the ones who don't want to openly say anything.
but the ones who are leaning into the "i'm not looking at any evidence because someone told me satoryuga = bad = she should get raped and murdered because i can't think for myself" crowd can find a tall tree to get caught up in.
and most of the people that got @ by the reuploader weren't people who against him, it was people he was against lol considering neckspike got @ and that loser was the first person starting the "this is a hoax none of this is real it's a psychop" stuff against satoryuga.
i think stacaesar and diamondsketches are the only people who got @ that the reuploader was purposely trying to draw attention to, to get the cult to attack them too, because much like satoryuga, neither of them did anything wrong.
neckspike and whatever that artist's name was (they blocked me after calling me a crackhead so i don't remember lmao) are super anti-satoryuga and couldn't make a single argument against her/against the people supporting her without resorting to racism and misogyny, so if anybody sent those two even 1 threat... well, babygirl that's on them lol
thanks for the nice message though, i wasn't expecting someone else from the fandom to see it and give a response like this that wasn't another rape threat/"slit your wrists terf" type message.
#and for your reference anon one of them was radroller who is also friends with thea-nymo#who said that misgendering a transwoman is worse than said transwoman doxxing/wanting to rape&kill a woman#look in the likes of that ask - those are also the people who have said bad things about satoryuga lol#it's not hard to find anti-satoryuga people really#most of them are friends with each other#only non-rape apologists should get to enjoy donbrothers :)

going to answer the sam’s fav color question first bc it’s shorter! mostly bc he looked SO damn good in that purple nike shirt in catws, i am generally of the opinion that sam’s favorite color is a really deep purple. i put him in purple in a lot of my fics as well! (when bucky sees just how good sam looks in all his purple, he thinks that’s probably his favorite as well)
as for the mutuals question, i adore all of my mutuals and i am giving each of them hugs and my eternal affection <3
putting this under a read more bc this is going to be long and fluffy rambling abt my beloved mutuals (all of which you should give a follow and support their work!)
in all seriousness though, my darling @samothy-wilson of course!!! bee’s truly just one of the sweetest people on earth and hanging out with them is always so lovely <3

i’ve written a full fic and multiple parts of not-quite-yet finished fics in dms with @yammz, and i am eternally grateful for all the times amy’s let me nonsensically ramble abt sambuckyquin and the ghost au on discord with her
i interact with @thatmexisaurusrex and @obsessivelymoody quite often in MYSU and they’re both such lovely people and talented writers!!!! also moody just beta’d a fic for me that will get posted today and i’m forever grateful for that <3
@jules-of-the-crown is such a sweetheart and sent me fic recs and an early access look at this incredibly amazing and sexy fic when i was sick/having a really rough couple of weeks!
i dm @livingincolorsagain pretty often and of course we interact with each other’s content so much! a is angst royalty in my book at this point. continues crying forever about the cats getting separated
also i’ve had many incredible interactions with @alivedean! top tier gifsets always of course, but ally leaves the SWEETEST comments on ao3 always and also got me to reread the all for the game series which i thoroughly enjoyed haha. always gotta get back to your roots
there are so many others i interact with that i’m sure i’m forgetting, especially those i mostly talk to on discord! god the sambucky fandom is just so lovely and so talented and i am sure you didn’t want this long list but!!!! everyone is just so wonderful and i truly feel welcomed in this online community in a way i never have before <3

I don't think I've ever had this many asks in my ask box at one time 😶...
Thanks to everyone for the nice comments and requests so far, I may have genuinely cried a little, I'm gonna get started on some of the requests today, I normally do then in order of recieving them, but I think I'm gonna judge it by how long it'll take me to make them, so we'll see, I also answered them all first last time but I'm gonna leave them in my inbox this time round and answer and link 'em when I've finished the gifset.
