note. i love this greasy little freak
- if you're not already into the music he's into, he will introduce you to it. if you are though he's like "you're so cool, babe." even before you start dating
- you're both big ol nerds but while you're quiet he's quite the loud mouth
- aka he, the extrovert, adopts you, the introvert, kind of
- he sees you sitting alone at lunch and practically swoops you up. he comes over and introduces himself with the offer of his hand before coming to your side and wrapping his arm around your shoulders. he invites you over to his table before leading you over.
- all the hellfire kids are super welcoming and though you're quiet, they don't mind. they joke around with you like you've always been one of them :')
- plus eddie has you sit by him to check on you
- adding on to that, after you guys are more comfortable he touches you a lot like squeezing your shoulder and stuff to make sure you're good and just cause he needs to touch you all the time
- very touchy feely dude
- anyway back to the plot ish,, he really wants you to join hellfire. he brings it up whenever he can. he really likes you and he loves DnD so naturally he wants his fav person to like his favorite thing
- when u finally give in he's so happy!! like dancing around n shit like he was when chrissy recognized him :)) god he's so cute
- he'll even twirl u around n shit he's fucking adorable
- so, now that he's convinced you, you guys meet after school to fill out character sheets, come up with ur character, and for him to shamelessly flirt (not that he doesn't do that all the time already)
- dude is so fucking hyped and he really enjoys explaining everything to you, he gets a real kick out of it
- every question you have is answered and in probably more detail than you need tbh
- honestly, besides him just being fixated on DnD, he wants to spend more time with you so he goes on and on
- then you're late and he's like you wanna ride back? 👀
- you take him up on his offer and he tries not to be too obvious about it but he plays his favorite songs and is watching you to gauge your reaction
- man nearly crashes but he's good (?) at being distracted while driving
- you make it home in one piece and eddie bids you farewell, watching you to make sure you get inside safe before driving back the lonely drive to his house
- this man loves to shred on his guitar for you, does it to impress you too. it's really cute, he'll get all hyped up and be on his knees, leaning back as he does a solo or honestly just to make you laugh
- your laugh is his favorite thing in the world <3
- he LOVES making you laugh, man. he will go out of his way to get you to laugh because everyone at school already thinks he's a freak so what's the harm? (especially if it charms you)
- dude is a sucker for your approval which isn't like him when it comes to anyone else
- he's always trying to learn more about you, especially since you're quiet
- randomly asks about your interests all the time
- okay so you've joined hellfire, right? and have spent some time with eddie and on your own creating your character and familiarizing yourself with everything
- well guess what happens now,, you get the hellfire t-shirt!!!
- it does something to eddie everytime he sees you wearing it 👀
- he's a little upset though that you usually wear layers over it :( but when you see him on a DnD night as you walk into school or something, you'll pull up the rest of your layers to show it to him and he just cheeses so hard
- god, if you've never seen heart eyes irl before when you do that you have
- also he notices how you're always dressed in layers even if it's ninety degrees but he just attributes it to keeping with your style cause he'll do the same
- once while hanging out with him after hellfire, he notices you're actually talking and kind of a lot or at least more than usual
- it clicks in his head after about the third time you do this alone with him, that you're comfortable with him
- man literally almost weeps
- one time you're actually joking around with him and tell him he has stubby fingers. he looks so shocked and can't even come up with a comeback. he enjoys this side of you.
- also makes him wonder why you'd even notice that 👀 but he never says anything
- okay so whether you smoke or not he'll invite you to smoke sessions but also!! will not pressure you to go if you don't wanna :)
- "it's cool, man. you don't wanna smoke, you don't wanna smoke." he shrugs nonchalantly.
- he runs into you a lot while you're out walking your dog. eddie loves animals but he's also a bit terrified of them. so when your dog barks at him he's like it's not gonna kill me, right?
- you laugh at him and introduce him to your dog and his rocker-boy attitude instantly melts away. he's talking in a high pitch baby voice and everything.
- he often joins you on your walks. you talk about everything and nothing. he also notices that you're not dressed in so many layers and you're constantly fidgeting with your shirt.
- you two start talking a lot and hanging out a whole lot. after some time, you guys just kinda get together. like it literally just happens
- but a couple weeks in it hits you that you still haven't told him yet and it wasn't that you didn't want to, no, it's just so fucking hard. you don't wanna lose eddie.
- you try to ignore it for a while n pretend you're cis and everything is fine but it's not and eddie can tell. he doesn't know how to broach the subject and hopes you'll bring it up first
- when you do get the courage up to tell him, he comes home to find you sitting anxiously on his couch. you ask him to talk and he of course says yes.
- "eddie, please remember i love you,"
- it sounds like you're going to break up with him and eddie starts to feel sick.
- "so please," you practically beg as you look at him with soft eyes, "don't hate me after i tell you this."
- eddie can't stop the churning in his stomach, are you really about to break up with him?
- "i'm a transsexual."
- well that's not what he was expecting to hear
- "i was born a woman but i'm a man. and i love you, eddie," you feel like you have to add that in since you're dealing such a big blow. "i hope this doesn't change things between us," you continue on shakily, playing with your hands as well. "i still wanna be with you but i thought you should know." you squeeze your eyes shut for a moment expecting him to maybe hit you or something but all that hits you are his words
- "i love you, too, y/n, no matter what."
- that's like a jolt of electricity to your heart. you jump up and wrap your arms around eddie in a tight hug, head resting against his chest, and eyes squeezed closed. tears spill silently as you hold onto eddie for dear life.
- eddie wraps his arms back around you and kisses your head. "i could never hate you, sweetheart. never," he finalizes with another kiss to the top of your head.
- it's the 80s and trans ppl especially ftm ppl aren't really known about or are grouped together with gay ppl so you'll have to explain a bit further to eddie but he's very understanding and supportive
- (i personally, headcanon him as trans but anyway)
- he becomes a bit more gentle with you after this, not because you're trans or anything he just doesn't want to make you uncomfortable :')
- much like steve with robin, he keeps the fact that you're trans to himself (as he should). he knows it's your right to tell people and not his, plus he would never want to risk your safety.
- he's always careful with you at school and in public because as much as he likes showing you off, he wants to keep you safe. but if you're alright with it, he's practically got you hanging off his arm
- y'all are like the power couple of hellfire lmao and they're equally annoyed and supportive :) they'll fake gag when you kiss n shit but they're happy for y'all
- you two mainly hang out at eddie's trailer, random nature trails, or just out in the woods. besides just being with each other, y'all's favorite thing to do is bug steve n robin at family video. robin loves u two but also is constantly like i hate you guys lol
- oh my god, remember how i said he's touchy feely?? dude LOVES to cuddle. he lives for it.
- your head on his chest while he combs his fingers through your hair? yes, please!
- he loves it when you guys just hold each other, laying in his bed n watching whatever's on tv or a horror flick robin or steve recommended. he's also a little spoon big time idc what anyone says, man loves to be held but spooning isn't his main thing
- his favorite is when you lay on him whether it's your whole body or just your head on his chest or in his lap
- you have got to play with his hair while you're cuddling, laying, or sleeping together. honestly, even if you're just sitting around, any time really. with your hands in his hair, he's putty in your hands. literally moaned one time when you did it, hair pulling kink much?
- another perk of being eddie's bf is coming along to his shows. his bandmates love you but they always make fun of eddie when he's being all love dovey with u. several of them ask why the hell you're with eddie n will jokingly flirt and are met with smacks to the shoulder by eddie but it's all in good fun
- mmm eddie loves holding your hand. at first he's kinda self conscious cause he gets sweaty hands around you cause he gets nervous n shit but at a certain point, he doesn't care and he knows you don't either
- please hug this man
- he understands that you don't always want to with your chest and all but god when you do? he's in heaven. he loves bear hugs, squeeze him til he's paste and he'll be satisfied
- man is touch starved that's why he savors it so much and just like you, he'll be randomly averse to touch. you guys are great at checking in with each other about it (steve thinks it's so cute, he saw y'all doing it once outside family video then robin caught him being soft about it and she hasn't stopped teasing him since)
- when your dysphoria hits hard, eddie's  almost always on top of it. he knows you well and you two are harmoniously connected, so he's very aware of your discomfort. still there are times where you've got to tell him because he won't realize
- mans will wrap you up in blankets to make you comfortable and also because he loves being wrapped in blankets.
- if you're not already in his clothes - he's noticed it's something you do when dysphoric- he'll go through his drawers asking u which u want to wear and literally dresses you himself unless you're uncomfortable. but it's nice to have someone take care of you so you don't have to think about it :')
- if you're okay with it, he'll cuddle you and this is like the one time he's big spoon lol. or he'll have you face him so you can bury your face against him and he runs his hands through your hair and to kiss your head :'))
- dude, whatever and i mean anything that you need, eddie's gonna get it for you. heat pack? no problem. obscene amount of your favorite snack? he's on it! playing that song you love that he hates? only for you, baby ;)
- such a fucking dad. very attentive n great at bad jokes.
- may not be able to cook the greatest but he will do his very best for you, results are mixed.
- back to clothes sharing. he loves sharing clothes!! literally one of his love languages (cough cough, giving his vest to steve, cough cough). he adores you in his clothes and he finds it funny when he catches you taking his clothes. like he'll be strolling into his room and you look like a raccoon in trash before you stand frozen with an armful of clothes
- "what're you doing?" he asks playfully.
- "nothing," you respond before poorly hiding the clothes behind yourself.
- he just laughs and walks over to give you a kiss.
- don't think you're exempt from him stealing your clothes cause he will. and honestly you feel like he pulls them off better than you.
- at some point, you don't know which clothes are yours or his and neither does he
- omg he'll let you wear his rings and stuff and he LOVES it. he's smiling so big like a lovesick teen :))
- also if some of the rings are too big he's gonna laugh at you hehe or if they're too small and get stuck lol
- one day you two are just lying around on his bed. you're both quiet, doing your own things but together. he strums on his guitar lazily while you absentmindedly sew a patch onto the knee of a pair of his jeans which allows your mind to wander. your dog also lies with you two at the foot of eddie's bed.
- your thoughts wander from yourself to eddie and how he sees you and how he's with you. "hey, eddie," you look over at him.
- he turns and looks at you lazily but full of love. he can't help smiling just looking at you. "need somethin', sweetheart?"
- "just wondering," you look at him quickly before looking down at your hands. "why're you with me, ed?"
- he looks genuinely surprised you'd ever ask him that. he even chuckles out of disbelief, "what?" he looks you straight in the eye as he leans over a little bit. "why wouldn't i wanna be with you?" he takes your hands, squeezing them.
- you shrug, pouting your lip, and tears pricking your eyes. "i don't know. just maybe if i was cis-"
- "hey," he says sternly, squeezing your hands again to bring you back to him. "i can't imagine you any other way. and i wouldn't want to."

A one shot of Mechanic!Eddie x F!reader
Established relationship, Eddie loosing his mind and relentlessly fucking you NASTY into your shared bed all because of how turned on he was by seeing you bent over moving laundry to the dryer in a pair of jeans that hug your ass so nicely🙈💗
Tumblr media Tumblr media
stink…. don’t do this to me
18+ — MINORS DNI
————
Those devious, cheeky little shorts of yours will be the death of Eddie, honestly.
Everytime you wear them he ends up balls deep, mumbling promises to knock you up and start a family. He wouldn’t be surprised if one of the few pregnancy scares you’ve had were a product of those fucking shorts.
He’s just getting home from work so he’s tired, but the second he sees you bent over the washer with your ass practically hanging out of your shorts, he’s pumped like a goddamn energizer bunny, so god knows how many rounds he’s fixing to pull out of you tonight (you both lost count at 5).
He’s stepping up behind you with a hum as you toss the clothes in the dryer and shut the lid, pressing his body to yours and nuzzling his face into your neck. His hands coast over your hips and stomach, greedy fingers searching to palm at your tits over the flimsy tank top you have on.
“What’d I tell you about these goddamn shorts, hm?” He nips at your ear, squeezing at your skin when you lean away from him with a grin and a roll of your eyes.
“I didn’t have any clean clothes left, okay?“
Eddie hums, pressing a kiss to your neck as he pushes your hips back against his growing bulge, “Mm, and these just so happened to be the only clean pants?”
“…Maybe.”
Eddie huffs out a laugh, giving your ass a quick tap and causing you to yelp, “Maybe.” He mocks.
You roll your eyes, somehow slipping out from between him and the dryer and Eddie groans as you pick up the laundry basket, “I’m busy, Eddie. The laundry isn’t gonna fold itself.”
As if Eddie believes you’re really that eager to fold laundry.
He’s on you as soon as you dump the clothes onto your shared bed, pressing himself to you once again and ignoring the whine you give him. “I’ll be quick, come on. You can’t wear these and expect me to not hump you like a dog, are you serious?”
“Self control, Eddie. It’s a thing.”
“Fuck off.”
You’re giggling as he reaches forward and pushes the clean laundry out of the way before pressing you face first into the bed.
“Ass up, come on.” He pats your hip, “You wanted to wear these cute little shorts, now put them on display for me.”
Eddie watches as you arch your back out for him, softly swaying your hips in a taunting manner as he palms himself. It’s like Eddie looses his mind, honestly.
He nearly ripped these same shorts one time, but he realized if he did then he wouldn’t get the privilege of seeing you in them again and god is Eddie so glad he thought that through.
His palm comes down on your ass quick and hot, cock stirring in his jeans at the moan that slips from you. He gives your other cheek a slap, squeezing and pulling at the fat skin before he decides he can’t wait any longer and he has to fuck you.
The shorts are off in record time, and Eddie thanks whatever shitty manufacturing company made those as he flings them to the ground. He makes even quicker work of unbuttoning his jeans, growling when you sway your hips and wriggle a hand down to your pussy, teasing yourself in preparation for what’s to come.
Eddie doesn’t even bother taking his jeans completely off, he lets them rest at his thighs as he wraps an adrenaline-shaking hand around his throbbing cock and shuffles forward. “Move your hand.” He sharply orders, placing a hand on your bare hip as he aligns his tip with your entrance. You oblige without question, hands sinking into the sheets to hold as Eddie sinks into you.
You’re so fucking warm and hot and wet, and the moan you let out is sinful enough to make Eddie want to do the unthinkable.
“Oh my god,” You gasp as Eddie presses in to the hilt. You’re mumbling and babbling about how big Eddie is, your pretty cunt squeezing and fluttering around him as he settles. “Yeah? This what you wanted, huh?” Eddie teases as he slowly drags his cock out before pressing in again, balls pressing snug to your clit as you squirm.
You pant, whimpering and failing to answer Eddie, so he leans forward, hips working up a toe curling pace as he talks into your ear, “Baby just wanted a good dicking down, huh?” He hotly whispers.
You whimper loudly, clenching around his cock as you desperately nod into the sheets. “Yes, yes please.” You beg.
Eddie peppers kisses across your neck and shoulder, dragging his teeth across your soft skin as his hips relentlessly pound into you. “You know you just had to ask, baby. Instead you wanna slut yourself out—“ “F-fuck off.” You gasp, drunkenly grinning when you hear Eddie chuckle.
Eddie presses himself back up, calloused hands pressing into your hips to pin you to the mattress before he begins drilling into like it’s the last chance he’ll ever fucking get.
Wet sloshing, skin slapping and needy moans fill out the air and Eddie’s practically bouncing you onto his cock with the help of the bouncy bed and you’re just speechless— grappling back at Eddie with shaky hands as Eddie fucks you into oblivion.
“Gonna cum?” Eddie huffs. You answer with a loud moan and your warm walls clenching around Eddie, and he hums, “Give it to me, baby, come on. Want you on top after so I can see your pretty tits bounce in that lousy excuse of a shirt you’ve got on.”
He strikes a hand down on your ass, watching as the skin ripples beneath his force— and suddenly, you’re cumming and tensing around Eddie so hard that Eddie almost struggles to fuck himself into you.
And Eddie didn’t plan on cumming yet, he wanted to hold off for a while longer, but you feel so fucking good Eddie can’t even think of holding back.
He cums with a loud groan, pressing his weight onto you as he spills himself deep inside of your pulsing cut— and there’s so much that it spills and drips down onto the laundry that Eddie failed to move out of the way.
“Jesus— fuck,” Eddie moans as he pulls out, still cumming in lazy spurts as he fists himself, painting your pretty folds. You’re shaking beneath him, back and thighs quivering with pleasure, and Eddie curses at the sight. He barely lets you come down before palming your ass, cock twitching when you let out a drawn-out moan as he speaks, “Flip over, baby. We’re not leaving this room for a while,” He drawls, “Gotta knock you up, remember?”

Good People - Final Part
Part One🦇Part Two🦇Final Part
It is not often that Wayne is happy with the monotony of work. Tonight is one of those nights, if only because it allows him to think about where he went wrong speaking to Eddie. He had never meant to imply he thought Eddie was like Al; he'd meant the apple and tree comment to for Richard and Steve. However, he does acknowledge why Eddie drew the conclusion that Wayne might have thought Eddie would follow in Al's footsteps.
Wayne's being a hypocrite, applying the logic to one boy, but not the other. And even though he never, not once, thought that Eddie would become Al, he'll never be able to take that thought from Eddie's mind that he had. He can apologize until he's blue in the face, Eddie might even forgive him, but he's not sure Eddie will ever believe him. Not truly.
And how could Wayne expect him to?
No. That's a shame Wayne will take to the grave.
Next strike to Wayne's conscious; the misjudgment of Steve Harrington, and how it ties into the fact Eddie accused him of not trusting his judgement, and, moreover, Eddie being right. Wayne hadn't trusted in Eddie's trust of Steve.
He should have. It's been years since Eddie came home crying about a boy, but what father doesn't see their kid crying over their first heartbreak and doesn't grow protective? And with Eddie, it's even more terrifying. Getting mixed up with the wrong boy could mean bruised ribs, black eyes, or worse.
In a town like Hawkins, a boy would just have to claim Eddie made a sexual advance and his murder could (would) be justified.
Now add the manhunt and being suspected of murderer to that. Well, Wayne's scared for Eddie's life almost every minute of his day.
But it's no excuse. Or if it is, it's a poor one.
Wayne doesn't know the full story but he does know that Steve was with the group of people on Eddie's side; that he was there with the Henderson kid, the Buckley girl, and Nancy Wheeler, digging Eddie out of the rubble from the earthquake, getting him to the hospital as fast as they could.
Steve Harrington was part of the group that saved Eddie's life, and that should have meant more to begin with. Instead, Wayne's been waiting for a shoe to drop that very well isn't coming.
He's going to fix this.
He'll give Eddie his space to be angry with him, and he'll try again in a few days.
When Wayne gets home, around 6:30am, Eddie's van is gone. He's not surprised. He probably left shortly after Wayne did, not leaving sooner just to avoid him.
There is a note on Wayne's bed when he makes it there. Says he's at Steve, and instead of letting Wayne know when he'll return it just says the words 'be back' followed by a bunch of questions marks. He ends it with 'call if worried' and leaves a phone number that must be for the Harrington residence.
Another hurt Wayne can't blame on anyone but himself.
Wednesday passes. Wayne eats breakfast, goes grocery shopping, pretends to care about his shows before sleeping the afternoon away to prepare for another graveyard. Eddie has not returned when he wakes, and two short hours later, he's off to work.
Eddie's van remains gone.
Returns from work Thursday morning and repeats Wednesday. He replaces grocery shopping with laundry and cleaning out the leftovers for trash day tomorrow morning. Goes to work.
Friday morning he returns home. No Eddie. He waits for it to be a more appropriate time, a little before 10:00am to call the number Eddie left.
It rings, rings, rings, then, a voice he hasn't heard in years. Richard Harrington's voice sounds as cold as it always was as the answering machine recites, "You've reached the Harrington's. We are not available. Leave a message."
"This is Wayne Munson. I just wanted to make sure Eddie's- that's he's alright. Let him know that I called. Checked on him. He doesn't need to call back but I'd appreciate it."
He hangs up the phone, lump in his throat. He misses his boy, and he wants to make his right, but he can't force that. Eddie has to always want to make it okay between them.
He's usually off Fridays, but he asked to pick up a shift. He can't face Linda without having fixed this. He spends the morning and afternoon doing all the small fixes he'd been putting off. Anything to keep him busy. He goes to sleep at his usual time, and wakes up two hours before his shift like normal.
Check's his answering machine but if anyone called while he was asleep, they didn't leave a message. There's still no van when he heads to work.
The plant tells him to leave an hour early. He tries to argue to stay but he's just waved off, told to go get some sleep because he's been looking a little worse for the wear.
He gets back to Forest Hills around 5:40am and finds there is another car parked at his home. Not Eddie's van, but the sleek maroon BMW that belongs to Steve Harrington parked where the van usually is.
When he pulls into his spot, the headlights of his truck light up Steve, sitting on his steps, wrapped in a coat. It can't be more than 50℉ outside right now.
Steve stands as Wayne cuts the engine and climbs from his truck. He gets to the front of his truck and Steve speaks.
"Eddie's okay," Steve says, hands shoving deep into his pockets, "I tried to get him to call you back yesterday but, well, you know Eddie."
Wayne nods, because he does know Eddie. "I appreciate you tellin' me. But you coulda just called."
"I could have."
They look at each other for a moment, and just as Steve opens his mouth, probably to tell Wayne he's going to go, Wayne speaks first, "you wanna come inside and have a cup of coffee to warm up?"
Steve tilts his head slightly to the left before he says, "are you sure?"
"I'm sure."
"Alright," and then Steve steps away from the stairs so Wayne can climb them and let them into the trailer. Steve follows behind silently but with familiarity. He's spent so much of his time here since spring break- the shame crawls through Wayne again. He'd assumed, once upon a time, that Eddie and Steve spent more time here than at Steve's because why would Steve want the trailer park boy in his big fancy house? Now, though, he wonders if it's because this place felt more like a home, even with Wayne's cold shoulder.
Steve sits at their little kitchen table, a luxury they didn't have before because there was no room in the single wide, one bedroom they'd had before. The new double wide (with three bedrooms) offered them a bit more space for a dining area.
Wayne's still suspicious of the government's offer to replace their destroyed home, but he wasn't foolish enough to deny the offer when it was made to him by Jim Hopper (newly returned from the dead back then).
"How do you take your coffee?" Wayne asks, once the machine finishes filling the carafe.
"Oh, I can fix it-"
"Nonsense," Wayne waves him back to sitting, "just tell me."
"I like it with just enough milk to take the scalding heat out of it," Steve says, and while Wayne's not sure just how much that it, he tries anyway.
He sets a cup in front of Steve before taking a seat across from him. "I really do appreciate that you came to tell me Eddie's okay. I want to give him his space but...."
Steve sips his coffee before shooting his cup a small smile. Wayne must have got the ratio right. Then, he looks to Wayne and the smile drops, a more serious expression taking its place and he says, "Eddie wouldn't really tell me what your fight was about, other than, uh, me and that you... overheard some of what I said last time I was here. I don't, like, want to come between you and Eddie, but I'm not, I'm not going to let you scare me away. So, just tell me what I have to do to get Eddie to believe we're cool, and I'll do it. Anything, except for getting out of Eddie's life. 'Cause I won't."
"I would never ask you to do that," Wayne says. Steve squints at him, a look of suspicion now. Completely warranted, given what Steve has known of Wayne thus far. "I owe you an apology, Steve. For how I've been treatin' you."
Steve's eyes go wide, "Oh. What? Why?"
"You've been nothin' but good to Eddie. For Eddie. And I refused to see that. I made a judgment about you without knowin' anything but your name." Steve let's out a soft 'oh' at that, but Wayne plows on, "And that weren't fair, and it weren't right. I can't undo it, but I want you to know I regret it. I'm sorry."
"Okay," Steve says, after a moment. "I forgive you."
It's Wayne's turn to be surprised. He's a bit speechless. So much so, he takes a page right out of Eddie's book and asks, "are you sure?" which is a question he's never asked after having an apology accepted before, but one Eddie had asked a lot when he first came to live with Wayne, and they were learning to co-exist.
"Yeah. I get it."
He doesn't like that answer. Doesn't like the he contributed to the mind set that gave Steve that answer. "You're allowed to be mad at me for it."
"I think Eddie's mad enough for both of us."
It doesn't feel like closure. It doesn't feel like forgiveness, but Wayne doesn't know what to say. He can't just start sprouting all the bad things he thought about Steve; there's no reason Steve should have to listen to that. But without hearing it, Steve doesn't even know what he's forgiving Wayne for. "I'll be honest with ya, Steve. It feels like you shouldn't."
Steve frowns at him. "Why?"
Why? Why? For all the reasons Eddie yelled at him, and all the things Linda said, and all the agony he's felt these last few days. The guilt and the shame that still eat at him, even as Steve Harrington says he forgives him. "It's too easy."
Those three words have Steve leaning back against the chair. His eyes dance around Wayne's face before taking in the whole of him. Or, what Steve can see of him with from across the table. When Steve meets his eye again, Wayne sees recognition there. "If you can't forgive yourself, I get that. I do. I-I've spent most of my life as one big apology. And I'm not saying that I, like, don't still feel like- what I mean to say, is that, I forgive you. I'm not, like, gonna hold it against you that you were just trying to look out for Eddie, man. Like, two years ago your fears would have been justified, so."
"Don't make it right," Wayne argues, but he doesn't know why.
"No," Steve agrees, "but I'm forgiving you anyway. You think you're the first person to hear the name Steve Harrington and assume you know everything you need to know about me already?"
Steve's words sound like they could be confrontational, but his tone is light. Teasing? Wayne says, "no. Suppose I'm not."
"Every person I love has done that," Steve says, and the ease of which he says that has Wayne feeling some sort of way. Eddie's words echo in his mind 'you made me help him feel that way'. How many other people have made him feel like he's a bad person? "Even- even Eddie. He made a point, during spring break, to, uh, well, he didn't apologize for anything because there was nothing to apologize about, but he made a point to tell me I was very 'metal' and a 'cool dude' so.... I know my name comes with, like, a shadow or a curse or whatever. I think it will for as long as I live in Hawkins, but that's," Steve flaps his hand in the air, as if that fills in for the word he can't find, and it's a move so reminiscent of Eddie. "Anyway, if you aren't actually, like, ready to accept an apology, you shouldn't be making one."
Wayne sits in that for a moment. There's a lot more to Steve Harrington than he'd ever thought. So much he doesn't know, actually, but he thinks he's okay with learning more. This boy told Eddie he was half-way in love with him earlier this week, and while Wayne never heard Eddie say it back, he knew anyway. It's why he was so protective. "You're pretty wise for your age."
Steve grins and shakes his head. "Nah, that last part was all Robin. She says it all the time to me."
"Well, then you best stop apologizing when you ain't ready to accept the forgiveness," Wayne parrots back the words.
Steve throws his head back and laughs.
They finish their coffee with silence and small talk. Steve tells him about how he never thought he'd miss his job at the video store but working at Melvald's is making him long for the days when the biggest complaint was late fees. Apparently, there's so many more things to complain about in retail.
Wayne talks about working at the plant and how the tasks are repetitive and a bit labor intensive, but the graveyard pay is worth it. Steve asks him a few more questions about working at the plant that Wayne's happy to answer and the more Steve asks, the more Wayne becomes aware that Steve might be looking for a change of occupation. He makes a mental note to put in a good word to Floyd, just in case.
Steve leaves with the promise of returning with Eddie, as soon as possible. As he was heading to the door, Wayne asked why he showed up so early.
"Eddie can't stop me if he's not awake," was Steve's answer, a mischievous grin on his face.
Wayne watches from the porch as Steve backs out. Steve shoots him one last little wave with his fingers before heading away.
He goes back inside and washes the dishes. Even dries and puts them away, a feat usually done once a week; he and Eddie have no qualms with using dishes directly from the dish drainer. His only other chore for the day is leaving for work a bit early so he has time to stop at the gas station and fill up the truck.
Grabbing the remote from its spot on the coffee table, Wayne plops onto the couch to spend his day as mindlessly as possible with some TV.
He goes to sleep at his usual time and wakes up at 7:43pm according to his alarm clock; a little over two hours before his shift is to start. It's time for more coffee, he thinks as he dresses for work before heading to the kitchen.
He jerks to a stop when he sees Eddie and Steve sitting on the couch, leaned close and talking softly. He's not about to repeat a past mistake, so he makes his presence known. "Evenin' boys."
Eddie pops up from the couch quick as lightning, taking a few steps towards Wayne before stopping. "I don't like being mad at you."
Wayne nods, "I don't much like you bein' mad at me, either. For what it's worth, I am sorry."
Eddie closes the distance between them, then, and pulls Wayne into a tight hug. Wayne returns it instantly, how can he not? He hears Eddie say, softly, "it's worth an awful lot, you terrible old man."
They part, and Eddie speaks first, "but if you ever pull shit like this again, I won't be so quick to forgive."
"I won't," Wayne says, at the same time Steve says, "he won't."
Both Munsons look at Steve, who grins back at them.
"You think you know my uncle that well already, from one shared cup of coffee?" Eddie asks, sounding amused.
Steve shrugs, "no. I just, uh, plan to stick around, y'know. Kinda hoping there's no dude after me for him to be an angry dad about. I would appreciate it, though, Mr. Munson, if you'd skip the shovel talk bit of all this?"
Eddie sucks in a breath and Wayne's a bit shocked by what Steve's implied. What Steve's admitted, really, out loud in front of another person. Wayne wonders if any boy Eddie's ever liked before would have done that.
"What good's a shove talk when you've already told me you ain't goin' anywhere?" Wayne says, hoping his tone is as light and teasing as he wants it to be.
"Glad we're on the same page," Steve agrees, "but, uhh, do you want me to go? So you can have a real talk?"
"No," says Eddie.
"No," says Wayne, at the same time.
"Oh. Okay. Uh, in that case, you got anything to drink here besides coffee?"
Wayne nods and they all pile into the kitchen to get a beverage before settling in the living room. There will be time to talk later, Wayne realizes. He's going to apologize properly.
Later, though, when he'll really be ready to accept Eddie's forgiveness, because there's no doubt Eddie'll forgive him. So, he's going to sit in the living room and chat with his boys until he has to go to work.
By the time Friday comes around again, he'll be able to tell Linda she was right, everything's going to be okay one day, and maybe ask her on a date he's been putting off asking for since high school.

@steddielovemonth Day 24: Love is the only thing we can take with us.

Tumblr media
Steve looked around his room, it would be the last time he did. He could hear his parents still arguing downstairs. He knew he didn't have a lot of time, soon he'd hear his father's footsteps coming up the stairs.
"You're no son of mine!"
Steve hadn't felt like his son in a long time anyway. When he thought of dads he thought of Hopper at his graduation or Wayne watching the game with him. He'd called Hopper, Dad, when he woke up in the hospital and saw the previously dead police chief at his bedside. No, Steve Harrington hadn't been Richard Harrington's son in a long time.
He knew he didn't have much time, but he'd been planning for this moment, the day they would find out. It was inevitable, small town, nosy neighbours. Steve kept his room impersonal for a reason, it wouldn't last forever. Kneeling quickly he grabbed his box, it was all he would need.
The clothes he actually liked wearing weren't in this closet anymore, the beemer had always been in his name. Nothing else in the house mattered but this box. The last piece of Steve in these four walls.
"Steven?"
He'd asked her to call him Steve all his life, she didn't.
"Can't you see what you're doing to your mother?"
Maria Harrington hadn't been Steve's mother in a long time. Mothers were there for their kids when they woke up from nightmares. Claudia never judged when he woke up screaming on the couch. A true mother looked after their son when he was sick in bed, soup and comfort and love. Joyce brought him soup last winter, when the flu had him stuck in bed, he didn't even call, she just knew.
"I know, I'm leaving now."
"Please, Steven, there are places we can go to fix you," she cried. Mothers don't think their kid's heart needs fixing.
"You were supposed to be a real man!" Richard yelled as he passed him down the stairs. Fathers are proud of their sons growing into protectors and carers.
"This will never be your home again!" Was the last thing Steve heard as he closed his car door and placed the small box on the passenger seat. Parents always have a home waiting for you, even when they think you're wrong.
"Steve?"
Wayne is the first one to spot him as he arrives at the trailer. It's sunday, family dinner at the rotating family table. Tonight was meant to be at the Munsons.
"Steve, honey? You ok?" Joyce is the first one to touch him, worry in her eyes.
"I'm sorry, son." Hopper is the first one to read his teary eyes like a book. They all knew where he'd been.
Claudia gingerly took the box from him, "I'll put this in your room, sweetheart, let Eddie know you're back home."
Steve could hear the kids yelling around the picnic table outside; could smell dinner cooking. Robins laughter piercing though the air and Eddie's boombox playing loudly.
"Baby?"
There he was.
"Hey, Eds, think we'll have to move up that moving date, if it's ok?"
Eddie's features softened from worry to sympathy, "Course, sunshine, although I'm still surprised Joyce and Hop didn't kidnap you months ago.
Later, when he'd given everyone hugs goodbye, some were a bit tighter than others, he sat on the bed with his box.
"You wanna unpack that alone, or want help?"
"You can look, it's not a secret, just special," Steve replied, patting the space next to him. Eddie plopped himself down beside his boyfriend, lifting the lid.
Inside was a mess of bits and pieces. Eddie reached in and took out a stack of photos. Steve at his graduation, a big smile with Hopper's arm around his shoulders, Dustin beaming beside him. Robin putting Steve in a headlock at the quarry last summer, he refuses to say he let her win. Eddie at his first show back, scars on full display. And countless other memories.
There were also little toys from the arcade and pebbles and ticket stubs and letters and a full life story of one Steve Harrington told through the love of his family.
"This was all I went back to get, all I needed. Wasn't expecting them to know about you already, but I knew they'd find out one day. Couldn't let them have this, not after they spent so long trying to take my heart from me."
"I think it's high time we clear some space around here for all this, Stevie, time to let your love be out on full display."
When Steve fell asleep that night, wrapped in the arms of a boy who went to hell from him and staring at the new photos on the wall, he truly felt home.

part one, part two, part three. this a part four. this is so accidentally long but hickies as promised, w a brief return out touch starved steve <3 mwah!
Eddie is sure his kiss tastes of uncertainty.
He can’t help the way his lips betray his nervousness in their obvious restraint. He knows he had been far more enthusiastic last night, eagerness behind every kiss. This kiss is… softer. Shyer.
He can’t help it. Because even though Steve said yes, had maybe flattened Eddie’s heart by adding a please, Eddie’s still… unsure. Still worried. Still waiting for a punch to come because that’s what happens to boys who kiss boys.
But… Steve’s hands are still holding onto Eddie’s wrists, keeping them in their place where they cup Steve’s face so gently. When Eddie had leaned in, lips grazing Steve’s, he had felt the other’s tightening grip like a silent prayer, saying come close, stay close. Even now, the grip around Eddie’s wrists holds firm.
Though it’s the last thing he wants, Eddie breaks the kiss. He draws back, savouring the moment — the sweetness of Steve’s lips for what might be the final time — with his eyes shut tight. Did I do it right this time? He thinks, he hopes. Can I kiss you and keep you?
“I’m…” Steve starts, his voice a whisper. Eddie’s eyes open. His fingers flex along Steve’s jaw instinctively. “Really confused.” Steve admits quietly.
His face is reserved. Only slight ripples of anxiety peek through. The crinkle between his brows speaks of his abundance of confusion. Eddie’s eyes drink in every expression and he can’t stop help how his eyes catch back on Steve’s lips. He stares when Steve speaks.
“I thought you— I thought you didn’t want…”
“Didn’t want this?” Eddie echoes, with a tone of incredulity, eyes darting back up to look Steve in the eye. He punctuates the last word with another touch, the pad of his thumb touching Steve’s bottom lip bravely.
Steve shivers. His eyes flutter for a moment, in a way Eddie has come to know means his strange aversion to touch is flaring up but — but Steve’s hands keep Eddie from moving away when he tries. Steve nods slowly.
Eddie swallows — tries to push down the ache to kiss him again. They’re still twisted; Steve still doesn’t get it.
Neither does Eddie though. He can’t even imagine what Steve came over to apologise for. What mental gymnastics he had put himself through to somehow be the one who needs to apologise in this situation.
“Where the fuck,” Eddie breathes softly, with an appalled chuckle, letting Steve know he wasn’t mad. Wasn’t in the slightest bit annoyed, only confused. “Did you get that idea?”
Beneath his hands, Eddie can feel Steve’s cheeks grow hotter. The colour soon follows, a glorious crimson that fills the apples of his cheeks. And sure, fine, okay, sue Eddie if he enjoys the sight a little too much. Steve all flushed in the face, ears definitely warmer than they were a second ago.
Steve starts to stammer. “You— You sounded annoyed when I was leaving.” His brows are nearly touching in the middle, drawn together in concern. “I thought you were regretting—“
Eddie interrupts to clarify, suddenly aware of where they’d gotten so muddled. “I sounded annoyed because you were leaving, Steve. Not…”
Not because you asked for a kiss. Eddie’s throat dries up. He can’t say it aloud, not just yet. The words dance on the tip of his tongue. Eddie doesn’t trust himself not to fumble them.
Even though, Steve’s sudden departure had been due to a genuine misunderstanding, Eddie can’t— he’s not… He’s got to be realistic with himself, just in case. Not say too much too soon.
Steve reads into the silent lull in Eddie’s words and in an instant, his eyes are widening in understanding. Somehow, his cheeks glow even warmer.
“Oh,” Steve says, the word doused in relief, in understanding. “Oh my god—“
The rest of his sentence is lost as a car drives by, tires groaning loudly along the tar road. It serves as a quick reminder of where they are. In public, in such close proximity. Eddie steps back instantly, hands ripping away from Steve as a lick of panic runs up his spine. His eyes track the pale blue car down the road.
They were covered by the van but, still.
“C’mon,” Steve says softly, calling to catch his attention.
The panic wavers wildly for a moment before eventually relenting, Eddie dropping his shoulders as he turns back to Steve. He’s delighted to find Steve is no less red in the face.
Steve clears his throat, “We can call a tow back at yours.”
He gestures to his car, an invitation, with a smile. Eddie’s not even sure he’s meant to say something so reassuring; a mixture of the use of we and the implication Steve would come back home with him. Would come inside.
Eddie can’t help how he ogles at Steve. He’s doing another once-over to make sure Steve isn’t a mirage about to fade. Maybe Eddie had actually crashed his van when the engine spluttered on him and all this was a weird and extremely vivid coma dream.
Except, Steve doesn’t look perfect — not like a dream would.
Eddie can tell from the flatness of his hair, he likely didn’t sleep well. He’s got a tired but kind smile on. It’s shyer than Eddie’s ever seen before.
He’s still wearing that bright green Family Video vest for Christ’s sake — if Eddie was in a coma, he had some serious self-reflection to do if his brain picked this as his dream-Steve fit.
“Yeah,” Eddie says, with a nod and a smile of his own. “Lemme, uh, lemme just grab my stuff.”
Eddie turns to hide his face before Steve can see it grow into a wild frenzied smile, too gleeful to contain. He pops the driver’s side door and scurries around, grabbing all the essentials; cigarettes, lighters, and tapes with actual good music on them.
Steve’s waiting for him, still in the same spot when he slides the door shut. Eddie works the rusted lock to lock it up. No, Eddie thinks gleefully, this is not a dream.
-
Steve is surprised it’s not more awkward.
Not that he wants that— honestly, this sweet in-between phase where Eddie keeps glancing over at him, brown eyes longing and like he was checking if Steve was still there, as he talked on the phone, suited Steve just fine. More than fine.
And yeah, okay, maybe Steve swooned a bit when Eddie started twirling the cord of the phone, so much like a lovey-dovey teenage girl that Steve nearly laughed aloud. He wasn’t sure if Eddie even realised he was doing it. Just leant up against the wall, stealing glances at Steve — his fingers fiddling with the cord til they began looping it over and over.
Steve wouldn’t though— laugh at Eddie, that is. It feels pretty much impossible to do anything except sit with all his giddiness, just knowing that… his feelings for Eddie are mutual.
That Eddie hadn’t regretted the kisses in the slightest. That Eddie had wanted Steve for just as long.
It’s achingly sweet to look back on that first hug Steve had asked for — knowing they had both been toeing the line, trying desperately to keep their pining to themselves. Idiots, Steve scoffs to himself affectionately, they were both idiots.
Rerunning the memory of his hasty exit last night is less of a breezy memory. Steve doesn’t want to think too hard about what malicious ideas Eddie’s brain might have spun up to taunt himself.
He must’ve thought that Steve had left for entirely worse reasons. That the reason Steve hadn’t been able to look at him because he thought Eddie was… that he regretted… Steve shakes his head. None of those thoughts are pretty.
And, more importantly, they were untrue. Steve very much liked those kisses. His only regret that night was leaving the way he did. Honest, Steve would have more kisses if he could.
Something scorches across his heart delightfully because he can have more kisses — he just has to ask.
“Okay, thank you so much,” Eddie says appreciatively into the receiver. He dashes another look over at Steve, an apology in the form of his sorry grimace. He focuses back on the phone. “Yeah, I’ll be in tomorrow to see the damage. Thanks, again.”
He sets the phone back in the cradle and for a moment, Steve can’t see his face. Can’t see any of the nervous contemplation. Eddie finally seems to grasp his courage and spins, fixing Steve with a smile.
“Um,” He says, a nervous chuckle leaking through. Eddie moves closer but he moves all skittish, one of his sneakers catching on nothing. He stumbles just a bit, taking a quick seat on the couch arm beside Steve.
“Wh—“ Eddie starts to say. He huffs another nervous chuckle, one hand coming up to scratch the back of his neck. “This might be a stupid question but what… now?”
Steve thinks for a moment. He’s considering how to go about this when Eddie blurts out in a hopeful tone— “More kissing?”
There’s an unspoken please. Steve revels in the blush that follows the words.
He smirks up at Eddie, eyes tracing the bloom of pink on his cheeks. “What? On the couch, like I’m some common whore?”
“You seemed to have no problem with it last time, my liege.” Eddie points out dramatically, all with a grin.
“And I have no intention of repeating last time.” Steve counters. Then frowns.
“Well, except for the good part.” He corrects himself. “The first part! Just- Christ, can we go to your room instead, please?”
Eddie’s on his feet in an instant. He brings his hand up to his forehead and gives a salute with enough force to rip his arm off. Then marches down the hall and disappears into his room without waiting for Steve.
Steve thinks the nerves might be getting to him.
He walks the steps he’s walked a hundred times before, crossing into Eddie’s room and pressing the door shut behind him.
Eddie’s sat on the bed, criss-cross apple sauce style. He’s kicked his sneakers off — one’s by Steve’s foot, the other on the other side of the room.
Steve swallows and toes off his own shoes. He approaches the bed, climbing on gingerly and folding his limbs to match Eddie. That familiar swoop of nerves sits oh-so present in the pit of his stomach. Steve tries to think of it as a good thing — it’s good to have something so good that he’s nervous in his excitement.
For a moment, they just sit. Staring at one another. One of Eddie’s fingers is digging into the rips of his jeans, toying with the loose strands. It gives away his restless energy.
Steve waits. He asked last time and he knows — he knows Eddie wants to kiss him. But a small part of him…
“Why is this so hard?” Eddie blurts out all of a sudden. Like before, the words seem like they’ve come out without Eddie realising, but he barrels on. “Shit, I’m so fucking nervous. You make me so nervous, Steve.”
Eddie’s eyes won’t settle. They dart around. Move from Steve’s eyes to his lips, down, to the bed sheet beneath them. Like he still isn’t sure if he’s truly allowed to look. His admission makes Steve sorta wanna roll over and scream into the pillow. In a good way.
“I’m— Me too," Steve admits, a smile curling at his lips. “The- fuck, the way I feel about you honestly scares me shitless.”
Eddie seems to be both chuffed and relieved at his words.
“But I… want to kiss you,” Steve says assuredly. The next sentence he poses as a question, words a little more hesitant. More nervous. “And… and you want to kiss me?”
Across the bed, Eddie grabs a piece of his hair, twisting it nervously as he pulls it to cover his face. His usual nervous tell. Steve can’t help how he breaks into a grin when Eddie nods fervently.
“Cool.” Steve breathes. Then mentally smacks himself for saying cool. He tries to recover but Eddie beats him to it, with a question of his own. “Can I kiss you now?”
Steve answers by shuffling closer, til their knees are touching and then — like beside the road earlier — mimics the touch Eddie had given him.
Hands on either side of Eddie’s face, gentle as they curl under his jaw. Steve can feel the curls of his hair tickling at his fingertips. Another inch forward and he’d be burying his hands in Eddie’s hair. Steve bookmarks that urge for later.
Eddie looks nervous. Steve is undoubtedly making it worse, taking his time like this. But he can’t help it.
He wants to look — wants to stare, wants to devour every detail of Eddie’s face. Commit it to memory so he can picture it with his eyelids closed. What Eddie Munson looks like while waiting for a kiss.
The amount of affection that swells in Steve’s chest hits like a sucker-punch, enough he sucks in a tiny breath. He can see the smallest quiver in Eddie’s lip.
“You gonna stare all day, Harrington?” Eddie teases, but it lacks conviction when the words wobble a bit.
“Just enjoying the view,” Steve remarks, and then, finally, he kisses Eddie.
It’s the floodgate. It’s a frenzy, kiss after kiss after kiss, the softness of them slipping away in lieu of making up for missed time. Steve kisses every apology onto Eddie’s lips and he receives forgiveness a dozen times back. It’s bliss.
Eddie’s a very enthusiastic partner, to say the least. He’s a little messier with his kisses, hands gripping the front of Steve’s shirt tightly, pressing forward in a way that pushes Steve back— but Steve certainly doesn’t mind. He removes his hands from Eddie’s face to lower himself back, elbows against the comforter as Eddie follows eagerly.
For a moment, a sprout of doubt pulls them apart. Eddie hovers, not getting too close. “This is… this is okay?”
Steve grabs him by the collar and tugs him down, meeting him in the middle for another kiss. It’s a fat unanimous yes. Something glows hot in his chest when Eddie smiles into the kiss. Grins even. In fact, he has to take a moment to cheese it out, his face tucked into hiding against the crook of Steve’s neck.
Steve doesn’t mind. His hand strokes idly over Eddie’s hair, twisting in with the curls. He lets him take his time, lets Eddie work back up the nerve to kiss him again, except— with a gasp, Steve squirms at the sudden kiss on his neck, hot and soft.
“I think you were the one overdue for a hickie,” Steve breathes, hands threading through Eddie’s hair gently. He doesn’t pull him away though; lets Eddie figure out the best way to scrape his teeth against Steve’s skin as best he likes.
“Uh huh,” Eddie murmurs, barely heard. He’s too distracted.
“Eddie,” Steve tries, but it comes out far too close to a sigh. He tries again, this time with a proper tug to pull Eddie back from him.
It’s a bit of leftover King Steve the way he manoeuvres the both of them, rolling deftly so it’s Eddie upon his back and Steve hovering above him. Eddie manages to look both impressed and disgruntled at once.
Steve doesn’t let him get a word out. The pale stretch of skin down Eddie’s neck has been calling his name for too long and Steve is hungry for it. He grants Eddie one, two, three more kisses on his lips before he’s moving down.
He’s just getting started, lips pressed to hot skin when it happens. Eddie’s hands move up, skirting barely up and under Steve’s shirt, fingers searching. The unpleasant aversion prickles under Steve’s skin.
He locks up. He’s unable to do anything but; it feels helpless even as he tries to shake it off but he knows, he knows Eddie can feel it as he grows rigid under the touch.
It’s worse when Eddie tries to reel his touch back in. Steve wants to cry with frustration because it’s not Eddie— it’s fucking him.
“Don’t,” Steve pleads, his hand diving down to catch Eddie’s wrist and holding it there. He knows Eddie’s watching him closely, even as Steve’s eyes scrunch shut and he fights to fend off the uncomfortable feeling attempting to make home under his skin.
“It’s…” Steve wills himself to look Eddie in the eye, hoping the sincerity bleeds through his words. “It’s not you, Eds. Just— fuck, just… give me a second, okay?”
He releases Eddie’s wrist. Eddie nods, a minuscule motion. His brown eyes are watching Steve closely, darting all over his face wildly and after a moment, they still on his lips. Eddie makes a decision and pushes forward, planting a tender kiss on the corner of Steve’s mouth.
“S’okay,” He assures. Then gives Steve another kiss, this time on the lips, slow and sweet. Steve drinks it in, tries to savour the feeling of being kissed by someone who wants him. Wants him in every way they can have him. It's maddening.
Eddie’s hand moves an inch cautiously, testing the waters as his fingertips trace the skin of Steve’s tummy. He doesn’t flinch when Steve stiffens up again.
Like he can sense the frustration building up in the other boy, he captures Steve’s lips with his gently. Whispers against them again as soothingly as he can. “It’s okay. You’re okay.”
It’s like the words run across the raised hackles of Steve’s soul, soothing and seeping out the tension from every muscle. Steve can feel himself relax under the words. Feels something inside him wobble and then tip over, finally soothed, finally settled.
This time when Eddie’s hand grazes along his waist, Steve shivers in a good way— and leans in closer, kissing back. His hands clutch back at Eddie’s hair, raking through to grip it sweetly. He tugs, jerking Eddie’s chin up and exposing his throat.
“Can I…” Steve begins. It’s a tease.
“Shut up,” Eddie grinds out, hands fixed on Steve’s waist. Now he knows he can touch, that Steve isn’t tensing up or flinching away, his hands are rabid. Hungry. They crawl across the skin, leaving hot scorch marks behind that tingle delightfully. “This hickie is so overdue.”
Steve grins wolfishly.
Eddie’s neck is a thorough shade of violet by the time he’s done, chest heaving. He looks devilishly handsome when Steve pulls back to admire his work and he barely gets a moment before Eddie’s back on him, lips hot against Steve’s own.
“My go.”
This time when Steve’s getting ready to leave, he half-heartedly pulls on his shoes. It’s a pitiful attempt to slow down the inevitable. He can’t believe leaving is harder this time; maybe it’s more to do with the hickies adoring his own neck and collarbones.
“Hey, I-“ Steve starts, already feeling flush in the face. Eddie’s watching him pack his stuff up, still pink in the face, but so evidently content with himself. He’s laid back on the bed, arms crossed behind his head. He’s showing off the dark lovebites on his skin, neck craned proudly.
“Mm?” Eddie hums, a cheeky smile on his face.
“When I— Robin.” Steve says, flashing a hand to his neck. “She’s- she’s probably gonna ask.”
Steve swallows. He somehow gets the feeling Eddie already knows what he’s going to ask — that he’s waiting for him to say it. Eddie’s grin says as much.
“And when she does, I—“ Steve continues, one hand coming up to rub at the back of his neck. The kisses on it tingle beneath his own touch. “Can I… call you my boyfriend?”
Eddie glows. It’s the only word for the excited laugh that punches out of him, like a gleeful goblin.
Steve thinks he might just be falling all over again when Eddie rolls over and buries his face in his pillow. He pretends for Eddie’s sake not to hear his muffled shout that’s almost a squeal. His cheeks are ruby red by the time he sticks his face back out, his grin so wide it makes his eyes crinkle in the corner.
“Yes,” Eddie says, voice giddy. “Yes, please.”
And Steve’s so fucking glad he asked for that stupid hug way back when, because got a gremlin-level of affectionate boyfriend now to show for it.

Steve watches as Eddie drops the shield clumsily, just lets it fall into the grass. His hand—it’s not shaking, exactly, but there’s a delay to everything, to the way his fingers curl, like even the smallest movement takes so much effort.
Steve knows the feeling: when the whole world feels like wading through molasses.
Eddie comes to sit next to him, thunks the back of his head against the RV and winces. “Ow.”
Steve smiles. “We’ve got time, y’know.”
Eddie gives him a blank look. The shadows under his eyes are practically sunken in. “Time?”
Steve gestures out to the distance, where the kids are still playing, where Nancy and Robin are re-counting the supplies he’d noted down earlier. “Reckon you’ve got an hour or so, if you wanna get your head down.”
Eddie snorts. “Ah, sleep,” he says, with a wry smile. “What’s that?”
“Come on, man,” Steve says. “Gotta take any opportunity you can. Don’t want you collapsing before we flambé Vecna.”
Eddie mouths Vecna to himself a couple of times, blows out a breath. “God, my life… my life is fucking crazy.”
Steve chuckles slightly. “Yeah, tell me about it.”
“You’re used to all of this shit, though. Lemme guess, you can sleep just like that?”
“Hmm, not always,” Steve says, which… well, Eddie doesn’t know enough, he reasons, to realise just what an understatement that is.
Eddie sighs again. He closes his eyes, tips his head back against the RV—doesn’t look comfortable at all.
Steve moves closer, gently nudges Eddie’s foot with his own. “Hey.”
Eddie’s eyes open with prolonged, heavy blinks. “Hmm?”
Steve pats his shoulder in invitation. Eddie lets out an exhausted laugh. “Oh, my life just got even crazier.”
“What? It’s a perfectly good shoulder, dude, I dunno what to tell you.” Steve grins when Eddie keeps laughing. “It’s not bony or anything.”
“That so?” Eddie says, rubs at his eyes with a lingering smile. “You got good reviews?”
“Glowing. Five stars.”
Steve thinks about all the times he’s been a pillow for Robin or Dustin—Max, too, on the seldom few times he’s wheedled until she just took a damn nap, even if it was only for ten minutes.
He taps his shoulder again, goes quiet, more serious. “You’re dog-tired, Eddie. Come on, just ten minutes. Then you can trash my stupid shoulder all you want.”
Eddie just looks at him, considering. Then he huffs, glances upwards as if to say Fine, you win. “You drive a hard bargain, Harrington.”
And with some hesitancy, he tips his head down to the side and settles on Steve’s shoulder.
He’s tense still; Steve can feel it.
“Y’know, one of the best naps I ever had was ‘cause of you,” Steve says conversationally.
Eddie makes a disbelieving noise.
“It’s true. Uh, Winter ‘84, the period just after lunch, I think? Damn, can’t even remember what class it… Anyway, you were giving the teacher shit ‘cause of some test result, you just kept going, it was incredible. No work got done; I just put my head on my desk and slept, and no-one even noticed.”
Eddie chuckles, slumps a little more. “That’s…” And he yawns. “That’s depressing, man. You saying me going on and on was relaxing?”
“Yeah, like one of those meditation tapes. Except, uh, more aggressive.”
Steve feels more than sees Eddie smile. “You’re so dumb.” He hums tiredly, his head resting heavier and heavier on Steve’s shoulder. Voice small, he says, “Keep talking?”
So Steve does.
He keeps up a constant, one-sided conversation, speaking softly. Talks about what they’ll all do after this—mostly nothing, because everyone deserves a goddamn extended Spring Break, he’s decided.
And Eddie sleeps. He doesn’t twitch like Robin, and his head doesn’t nod forward like Dustin—like he’s reached such a level of fatigue that he can only be still. His breathing is deep and heavy in a way that Steve knows only comes from a rare, utterly dreamless sleep.
Steve just sits there for way more than an hour, doesn’t care when his back begins to protest at how unmoving he is. It’s only as the sun begins to set, as the group just begins to head back to the RV, when he reluctantly nudges Eddie.
“Hey. Hey, Eddie. Sorry. Time to get up.”
Eddie mumbles something, barely lifts his head before returning it to Steve’s shoulder. “Hmm… five more minutes?”
Steve sighs through a little laugh. Feels suddenly emotional for reasons he can’t fully explain. God, I wanna give you forever.
“Sure, yeah. Five minutes.”
But Eddie rouses after just a minute or two. Sits up and stretches. His eyes look a little brighter, his face no longer quite as grey.
“You were right, man,” he says lightly, gives Steve’s shoulder an endearing little pat. “It’s a nice shoulder. Gotta take good care of that.”
And his hand lingers there, holds on like he did when they were huddled round the Lite Brite. Like he’s saying Take care of yourself, instead.
Steve feels the warmth of Eddie’s hand as he shrugs. “You get first dibs on it, when this is over,” he says.
And he means Come back.

‘what if Eddie consoles you crying and he starts laughing and you get offended but he can't help cause you're so cute’
ty to my dear sweet friend for messaging me this idea and allowing me to write for it if u see this iluvm 🫶
tw: injury & blood
“she calmin’ down?” you hear wayne call from the living room. you sigh softly and drop your forehead against eddie’s shoulder, and the boy chuckles and kisses your hair before yelling back,
“all good! bleeding’s stopped.”
you sniffle and eddie kisses you again, before leaning back over your knees, knelt before you, and continuing his work cleaning the wounds.
“…so stupid…” you scold yourself softly.
it had been one of those days where you could feel you were on edge, but there were things to look forward to today so, you’d shoved the feeling down and plastered on a smile. and then it only took that one little event to turn everything on its head, bring you back to earth and scold you for being such an airhead.
you’d arrived to the munson trailer, planning a movie night with eddie — staying in with popcorn and snacks and soda and scary films. grocery bags in hand you’d skipped up the steps — or… attempted to skip up the steps. your foot caught as you hopped up the first, catching you off-guard with a panicked squeal as you tripped forward. thankfully the bags were light enough you could brace your hands against the door and shield your head, but your poor knees were scraped to kingdom come as you heavily fell to them and skidded, blood dripping down your calves as wayne had opened the door to you and immediately ushered you inside as you began to wail.
“heyy!” eddie whines, looking up at you sat on the edge of his bed. “don’t say that about my most favorite person ever.”
“i wasn’t talking about wayne,” you attempt to joke. eddie tilts his head and narrows eyes at you.
“wayne doesn’t count, babe, he’s like… the person. don’t call yourself stupid, okay?” he kisses the knee that’s already bandaged and continues his work on the other.
you sniffle again and watch your boyfriend diligently dab away debris from the wound, being so careful and gentle with you. now and then he’d kiss the red skin surrounding it, stroke a thumb over your thigh and offer a reassuring smile. every time you winced he’d back off immediately with a soft apology, looking up to gain your consent to keep going.
and then you think about wayne taking the bags from you carefully as you cried on his doorstep, setting them aside and then quickly taking hold of your arms — just barely holding you, worried he’d somehow hurt you more just by touching you — bringing you inside the trailer and walking you to his comfy recliner. he’d sat you down and knelt in front of you, just like eddie was doing now, and he held your hands in his and watched you as he spoke in the smoothest tone.
“ooookay, oooookay, you’re alright, kid, you’re alright. you’re okay. just some bad scrapes, yeah? bet that fall was scary. munsons’ll fix y’right up. can’t tell you how many times that boy’s come home all banged up and uncle wayne had to glue him back together. this ain’t nothin’. i know it hurts, sweetie, just breathe. we gotcha.”
you’d felt like a child getting scooped up, rescued by the brave adult — the mighty uncle wayne. never once did he or eddie chide you when your emotions got the best of you.
a question you’d asked yourself plenty by now rings at the front of your brain — ‘what did i do to deserve these boys??’
you sniffle again and the tiniest whisper of a whimper leaves you, eddie looks up quickly and immediately his expression drops as he sees your face scrunched up, trying to hold back the knot in your throat while the tears streamed anyway.
“hey! hey what’s up?? why’re you cryin’? did-did somethin’ i do hurt?”
you can only hiccup, uttering that heavy, shuddering sigh that came hand-in-hand with those big tears. eddie can’t help the soft laughter, because he realizes suddenly you’re not crying ‘cause of the hurt this time. you’re crying because everything is a lot. you’re crying because despite that, you have help. you’re crying because without asking, you were being taken care of by people you loved; reminding you they loved you too. he sees your brow furrowed as you look at each other, looking at him with big watery eyes, fingers twisting into the hem of your shirt. eddie knows. and he can’t help it, ‘cause when you cry like this it makes your cheeks all rosy. makes you tender and shy with him, makes you whimper and squeak and god he can’t help that he thinks you’re just the cutest when you cry like this.
“s-s’not funny! wh-why’re yo-you laughing?”
“i-i’m not! i’m not laughing at you, i-i…” he stutters and then growls softly in frustration and snorts and grins as he just cups your cheeks and pulls you down to kiss you softly. “you’re just so fucking sweet. i’m sorry you got hurt. c’mere. you’re okay. c’mere.”
you cry freely and eddie just breathes soft laughter as you lean down to him and wrap arms around his shoulders, burying your face in him as you let the frustrations melt away with his warmth.
you cry because you have eddie, and you have wayne, and you have help and comfort and reassurance even when you don’t ask for it.

this one's for my cassie banana (@henderdads) who wanted a HAPPY grammy related ficlet. but because i wrote it, of course there's going to be a tiniest hint of angst. 🙄 ily and i hope this satisfies ur craving 💗🌷🏆
-
As a gay, rock star in the late 90's, Eddie's had to keep his and Steve's relationship under the wraps. He's had to sing songs and change the pronouns from he to she.
In his heart, he knows Steve doesn't mind, knows that he understands that this is the life his boyfriend chose. But Eddie hates it, hates that he can't scream on top of his lungs, on top of the highest mountains, that he loves Steve Harrington and he, miraculously, loves him back.
As Eddie stares at the wall of awards in front of him, he thinks— knows— that not one of these gold, silver, bronze awards mean as much as Steve means to him. No award is as important as the love of his life.
People still remember the Grammy Awards on 2001. No, it's not because of the famous singers. No, it's not because of the performances. No, it's not because of their outfits.
It's because the singer-songwriter of rock band, Corroded Coffin, won their fifth grammy award and what they thought was a normal award speech would change the course of the industry.
Eddie walks up alone, accepts the award and smiles.
"Well, the band— Gareth, Jeff and Grant— has trusted me enough to do this speech without fucking it up." He laughs as he hugs the award closer to his chest.
"Thank you to the recording academy, our managers and our label, for the last 10 years. The last 10 years has been crazy and amazing and surreal. But just this morning," Eddie takes a deep breath, "We— Me and the members of the Corroded Coffin— has decided to move labels. Somewhere we'll be free to express ourselves and be out true colorful selves."
"So yeah, thank you for them and the chance. But this award," Eddie holds it up, "Is for every gay kid who was scared and who thought they were alone. It's for every gay kid who thought they will never, ever get to express themselves and thought they'll have to hide forever."
The audience starts cheering, people clapping and standing as Eddie smiles, bulldozes on, "This grammy is for little Eddie Munson, Gareth Emerson, Jeff Best and Paul Grant. Four gay kids, in the middle of Hawkins, Indiana, just finding each other. We're Corroded Coffin and we're the proof that you could also be free and true to yourself."
"To my boyfriend. Yes, my boyfriend. Every she in every song I wrote was originally an he. Every word and tune was meant to be for you. Sweetheart, baby, you are my whole heart. Steve Harrington, I fucking love you. This fucking grammy is for you."
He holds up the award as he starts walking back to the back of the stage. The people in the crowd give him a standing ovation.
Somewhere in New York, there's a boy, who once survived death himself, smiling and beaming so hard it hurts his jaw. He'll call Eddie later, and thank him for what he's done for people like them. He'll sleep peacefully, knowing that a few kids will sleep better tonight, knowing that everything is going to be okay.
Somewhere in LA, there's a girl, sitting on the couch with a cold champagne and confetti in her hands, waiting for Eddie and Steve to come home. She'll kiss both their cheeks, happy to have them both home. They'll drink, cheer and celebrate being out to the whole world.
But before that, just behind the curtains, a man is waiting for him, with the biggest smile on his face and tears streaming down his face.
Eddie greets him with a smile, and an earth shattering kiss on the lips.
"I am proud of you." Steve says, and Eddie melts in his touch.
"I can sing with boy pronouns now. I am going to be so insufferable." Eddie laughs.
"You go do that, be what the world needs." Steve laughs, hooking his arms with his boyfriend, walking deeper in to backstage.
"What about what you need?" Eddie asks, looking at the man beside him, the one who saved him and who's still saving him.
Steve smiles, holding Eddie's free hand and intertwining it. There's people walking around them, but they're in their own little world. For the first time, they're not hiding.
Steve holds up Eddie's hand, "I've got everything I need right here."

i've seen model steve harrington aus. i've seen child steve harrington aus. i present: child model steve harrington
note: this came from my own desperate need to see this conceptualized and i SWEAR i've searched, i just can't find any content with child model steve so. :(
bc little steve harrington was remarkably cherub-like. his large brown eyes and soft pout ensured endless cooing and fussing from his mom's friends. and when he blushed and ducked his head in shyness, they only complimented him more. when he got home that day, his mom smiled at him.
so steve decided that he would put up with the cheek pinching and the squealing. he sat upright in his chair, sitting on his hands so he wouldn't fidget and ruin the image. because he'd do anything to keep his mom smiling at him. if he was being particularly good that day, she'd let him lay his head on her lap on the drive back home.
but everything changed at his father's birthday gala. a nearly eight year old steve harrington sat prim and proper in his seat, but a smile lit up his face--his cheeks round and his dimples showing up. he raised his hand up to cover his giggle, but he couldn't help but laugh at some silly old man with a loose toupee. then he sees his mom approaching, and his face quickly smooths over, going back to the more polite smile he usually adopted when it came to these events.
he'd ruined it. he hadn't continued being the sweet boy his mom wanted. but then, she smiles at him. and introduces him to the man behind her, who says he's a designer. the man holds out his hand, but when steve puts his hand into his palm, he doesn't shake it. the man simply holds his hand, his eyes scanning steve's face. steve tries not to squirm under the attention. but the man nods and smiles at his mom, and he gives two brief cheek kisses to steve, whispering in his ear "you're going to be a star, darling." steve looks at his mom, confused, but she waves him off to continue talking to the man.
a few months later, steve's mom whisks him off on a trip to france. and steve is so excited to go, nearly vibrating in his seat as the airplane prepares to take off. but instead of the eiffel tower and the seine, steve is taken to a studio. he's posed and changed. once again, he's being fussed over, but instead of wealthy socialites, gossiping make-up artists squeal over him. he's "perfect for the shoot" and "the most darling little boy." steve doesn't understand, but his mom is still smiling, so he lets the nice ladies brush powder over his face.
and he looks in the mirror. his hair is a little more tousled and his lips have a slight tint to them and his eyes seem to take up much of his face. he's put into new clothes, and he feels like a doll in their hands. and when he's put in front of the camera, he simply follows the photographer's directions. afterwards, he's bundled into the car and his mom can't stop gushing about how good he was.
apparently, he's a natural. and then she goes back to fussing over him, focusing more on appearance than his behavior now. but she takes him out shopping and they eat at an upscale restaurant along the champs-elysses. and steve is happy.
and then they go back home, and his mom is so much stricter than before. she has him try out all kinds of different hair products, determined to find the best combination to keep it looking shiny and soft. she controls his food intake and what he wears and makes him use weird creams and serums on his face. but this is what makes his mom happy, so he's happy to let her.
his mom is also on the phone a lot more lately, whispering harshly about the quality of brands and steve just assumes she's being picky about the clothes she buys. later, his mom picks him up and holds him, and asks if he'd like to move to italy. she looks at him intently and it's obvious what answer she wants, so steve nods. she smiles and holds him close, and it's the most loved steve has felt in a while.
so they move to italy, and suddenly steve is a lot more busy. he's put in front of more cameras for more people he doesn't know. but he's smiling and pouting and doing whatever they want him to do. his compliant attitude and polite nature have photographers and designers alike singing his praises, and steve always looks to his mom for approval. but she's been arguing with his dad a lot lately, so she's upset more often than not. but that's okay, the make-up artists are always kind to him.
but then one day, his mom takes a phone call in the middle of the shoot. and when it finishes, she's gone. steve goes back in, close to tears, but the make-up artists still hanging around look after him until a car is sent to pick him up. this becomes a trend. and eventually, steve goes alone to his shoots. he's always taken care of by the crew and someone is always there to pick him up, but it's not fun without his mom there.
but he knows that she's always enjoyed him taking pictures, so he continues to do so, hoping that she'll come watch him again sometime soon. and he busies himself with befriending the chatty make-up artists and the bossy photographers and the eccentric designers. and he's such a cute little thing that they can't help but dote on him.
steve is never catapulted into child stardom, as his mom is picky with his jobs, only choosing luxury brands and well known designers for him. but within the industry, they call him the "little prince."
and then steve is catapulted into puberty, but his intense skin regimen prevents him from getting acne, save for the occasional zit. and his diet and religious exercise schedule help maintain his look. and he's still doing remarkably well, especially now that he's fully aware that he is a Model.
and steve has truly grown into his looks. with time, he's grown more comfortable in front of the camera and made numerous friends. nearly all of them are older than him, but they're fun and loud and it fills up the space that normally surrounds him. and they're the ones who get him hooked on american movies. steve remembers living in america, but he's been in milan so long that everything he recalls is vague.
but he watches them and falls in love with the american high school experience. so when he finally catches his mom off the phone and actually in the house, steve asks if he can go to school in america. and his mom laughs. but steve keeps asking, which devolves into begging. and his mother snaps, slapping him across the face and calling him ungrateful. she cries and begs for forgiveness, cowed into shame by steve's desperate attempt to hold back tears.
and so she lets him go to school in hawkins, indiana. an odd choice, but his parents just so happened to own a property there. (in truth, both of his parents expected him to change his mind within the year). but steve finds his place at hawkins high, because even though nobody in hawkins has ever heard of versace, steve is pretty. he's pretty and charming and he knows the right thing to say. after all, he's spent his whole life perfecting his mask.
and even if his mom ended up moving back home with his dad, leaving steve all alone in that big empty house, steve is happy. he's finally hanging out with people his age and high school is so far removed from the glitz and glam of the fashion industry. and he's settled and content with tommy and carol by his side. while he misses his friends back in milan, steve finds himself longing for the clothes more often. hawkins was certainly the opposite of milan, what with the nearest mall being two hours away and only equipped with a macy's and jcpenny.
through it all, steve is determined to be normal. he laughs along with jokes he doesn't quite get and rolls his eyes at carol's cue, and he joins the swim team. and he joins the basketball team. and he goes to parties and kisses girls and wears dumb little polos with his letterman jacket and does everything that he saw in the movies.
but nancy wheeler is different. steve can't forget his time in italy and who he is and was, and he's reminded of his old life in everyone and everything in hawkins. but not nancy wheeler. she's all hawkins and all his. and then the upside down happens.
and then nancy wheeler breaks his heart.
even after three years, his parents continue to ask when he'll go back to modeling, but he's different now. the upside down and billy hargrove beat that starry eyed little kid who thrived in the spotlight. and nancy wheeler proved that adoration and love is fleeting, so what would even be the point of trying anymore? his dad was a little more approving of steve's retirement/hiatus, saying that steve must want to go to college so he can take over the family business.
but when steve doesn't get into college, he's once again badgered by his mom to go back. but he's grown and changed and he's not sure that he can pretend anymore, so he says no. and they cut him off. enter: scoops era.
the measly scoops salary is not nearly enough to cover all of the new bills and expenses steve has, but he's not willing to leave hawkins. so he reaches out to his friends back in italy, and they refer him to their american connections. steve doesn't model at the same level as before, but he poses for a couple of zines and one artist who got a little too handsy at his exhibition. but he's able to make it through until the mall blows up.
this routine continues and he starts working at family video with robin at his side, but he keeps his side job a secret from the kids, using the excuse of visiting his parents to leave town for his shoots. he's not ashamed, but he knows he wouldn't "be normal" anymore if they found out.
but how does he explain his near mental breakdown at the sight of his healing demobat scars. they're raised and ugly, ruining what should have been a perfect body. and even though he uses scar cream everyday, they refuse to fade away completely. and how could anyone stand to be near such an ugly thing when all his life, steve was meant to be pretty? after all, love and adoration is fleeting.

steddie christmas party au
the thing is--there's an office holiday party coming up.
steve, who works as a guidance counselor at hawkins middle, knows that every year the staff throws a holiday party. he wasn't here for the one last year, off visiting nancy and robin in boston for the holidays, but everyone says it's always a good time and the teachers have all been hounding him to go.
the thing is--he wouldn't even mind going alone. he actually likes some of his co-workers, and he has enough natural charm to survive one night of bad food and christmas music and punch that's just a little too strong to have more than two glasses without getting wasted. he knows that he could go alone and everything would be fine.
but he doesn't really want to.
"plus one?" the school secretary says with raised brows as he hands in his rsvp card. "i didn't know you were seeing anybody."
steve just shrugs as he turns to head back to his office. it's not like people haven't tried to pry into his love life before--some of the female teachers make their availability blaringly obvious to him every time he answers the question "do you have a girlfriend" with "no"--they just haven't gone about it in the right way.
it's not like he's hiding his relationship, people just assume, and they assume incorrectly. that's not his fault.
"the staff christmas party?" eddie asks that night as they're getting ready for bed. "you seriously want to go to that?"
"you don't have to come," steve tells him around a mouthful of toothpaste, then spits. "i just thought it might be nice for you to meet some of my co-workers, and for some of them to meet you. but if you don't want to come with me, that's okay, really."
"babe, if you want me there, i'm there," eddie tells him as he ditches his jeans for flannel pajamas. "just don't be surprised when i get tipsy off the punch and make a fool out of you on the dance floor."
and so, they went to the party with steve dressed in his usual khakis with this favorite ugly christmas sweater worn over a casual dress shirt, and eddie in his usual black on black, though he switched the band t-shirt for a button-up. he added a red tie last minute to try and be more festive for the party, even though steve kept telling him he could wear whatever he wanted.
they walk into the gym hand in hand, and more than a few people stop talking to turn and stare.
but eddie's not paying attention because he's looking at the tinsel hung up on the walls and wondering how they got it that high up, and steve ignores all the surprised faces looking at him until he spots his group of friends tucked together in the corner, some with their spouses, some without.
he drags eddie over to them and introduces him as his boyfriend--saying it loud enough for every goddamn eavesdropper to hear it clearly--and eddie shakes hands and smiles as steve's friends greet him without missing a beat.
they eat and they drink and they dance, and most of the party gets over their initial shock pretty quickly after seeing how happy steve is with eddie around. the rest of the night goes by quickly, and someone even snaps a picture of steve kissing eddie under the mistletoe hanging over the gym door.
by the time the students come back from break in the new year the rumors about mr. harrington sexuality are basically non-existent--thank you short attention spans--and most of the teachers have stopped asking him if he has a girlfriend. steve feels like a weight has been lifted from his shoulders, one he didn't even realize he was carrying. it's freeing, having everyone--everyone who matters--know about about eddie.
and when the staff christmas party rolls around again next year, steve has twice as much fun dragging eddie under the mistletoe with a ring on his finger and a date picked out for the spring.

Day 2: Cockwarming
"Puppy"
wc: 1.5k | rated: E | tags: Sub Eddie Munson, established relationship, collar & leash, chubby Steve Harrington, thigh humping, food during sex, fingering
written for @subeddieweek <3
🍰🍰🍰🍰🍰
Steve suppresses a shiver as he feels drool slide down over his balls. He shoves another bite of cake in his mouth.
Moving slightly, he looks down and sees big, brown, pleading eyes looking back at him.
‘Wait till I‘m finished puppy.’ Steve says, yanking lightly on the leash in his hand, attached to eddies leather collar.
Eddie whines weakly. Slowly closing his eyes again and suckling gently on Steve’s cock. Steve grinds shallowly up into his mouth, just to hear him whimper.
Eddie’s so pretty when he floats away like this. But he’s not allowed to move yet, and he hasn’t, because he’s Steve’s good puppy.
Steve never really expected this, when he remembers Eddie Munson from high school. Always too loud, too brash, too quick to loose his patience with jocks - which meant no more weed, no more nothin.
He held his own kind of reign, that King Freak.
But then Steve met the other sides of Eddie, after the upside down, throughout the hospital stay and the PT and the meds. Sides that could be quiet and sad, that looked inwards with no patience and left bruises on knuckles.
Saw all Eddies sides, and searched for them - every ugly, mangled, beautiful one of them. Until, somehow, they came together. Two warped sort of beings, smoothing each others edges over time.
The first time they’d kissed, after weeks of dancing around each other, and Steve having to slow his charm into a more simple honesty, Eddie opened up beautifully. Melting into the mattress and letting Steve do as he pleased.
And it's only blossomed from there. Steve takes great pride in being able to give Eddie this. Time away from his brain. Space and care and protection in moments where he can come apart, totally exposed. Knowing that Steve will piece him back together again.
Steve shoves the last bite of birthday cake in his mouth. Eddie had cut the piece for him, choosing the amount, handing it over shyly along with the leashes handle, before sinking to his knees.
Now Steve feels sticky and stretched out, Eddie’s mouth warm and wet around him. Steve grinds again and licks the frosting from his teeth, sinking into the couch.
It’s been about an hour, the movie they put on almost at the end, not that either have been paying attention. But Steve pretended, to allow Eddie time to fall fully, mouth full and back arched, just the way he likes it.
Eddie said he likes the view from the floor, how his nose can touch the softest part of Steve’s belly, just bellow the bellybutton. Likes the weight of Steve’s cock in his mouth, the anticipation and safety in the act.
Eddie likes it all so much it’s what he asked for it as part of his birthday present. A scene with cake and his collar, both their mouths full. How could Steve say no?
‘Baby, m’done.’ He pants slightly, readjusting on the couch again, Eddie sinking till he can nuzzle Steves pubes, forehead bumping into his stomach. Eddie keening another heady whine.
Steve groans as Eddie’s tongue swirls around him. Yanking the lead up and burying his hand in Eddie’s curls, pushing down. Steve rolls his hips at the wet click of Eddie’s throat.
He pulls out slightly just to fuck himself back in, deeper, feeling Eddie’s moan vibrate through his bones. He does it again, gripping Eddie’s scalp harder, wrapping the leash around his fist once, twice, holding it taught.
Steve pulls back to let Eddie catch his breath but Eddies tongue never stops licking. ‘That’s it, good puppy.’ Steve can hear him breathing deep through his nose. Regaining oxygen so he can hollow his cheeks and suck. Steve moans and Eddie’s hips rise and sway a little, back arching even more. Finally allowed to move, finally allowed to play with Steve’s cock in his mouth. Finally allowed to get his throat fucked.
One night early on in the relationship Eddie had paused making out to nip playfully from Steve’s mouth to his pec. Licking over each bite and moving quick to do it again. But Eddie got too close to Steves armpit and it made Steve snort, unable to contain his laughter.
It wasn’t exactly sexy, but Eddie’s eyes had lit up and he did it again. Sticking his fingers into Steve’s other armpit and tickling. Making Steve wriggle and buck and Eddie looked so delighted.
Steve had grabbed Eddie’s wrists, out of breath and vaguely conscious of his still half hard cock between them. ‘You’re like a little puppy.’ He'd said, panting, cheeks hurting from his smile.
Eddie had wiggled his eyebrows and wiggled his hips, letting his tongue loll out playfully. But Steve saw how his eyes darkened, how his breathing deepened and slowed.
So Steve pulled Eddie close, manhandling him, wanting to take some bites of his own, leave a mark. Make Eddie squirm and writhe and feel it.
Steve realised then that Eddie just wanted sensations, wanted to be close. Steve realised Eddie just, always, always, wants to play.
‘Fuck, c’mere baby.’ Steve pulls Eddie off his spent cock and keeps pulling until Eddie is straddling his thick thigh. Steve pants, still reeling from the feeling of finishing with Eddie’s throat around him.
‘Show me.’ He says softly, Eddie blinks slow and opens his mouth, showing Steve the mess still on his tongue. ‘Good puppy.’ Steve breaths, reaching his sticky sweet fingers up to press into the mess, get them all wet.
Eddie latches onto the digits and hums, eyes closing sleepily as his hands find purchase on Steve’s middle.
‘Open.’ Steve instructs again and Eddie opens his eyes and mouth softly, sweetly. Steve pulling the dripping digits out, making sure Eddie sees them glisten with spit and cum before he reaches around and feels for eddies hole.
He whines as Steve pets him softly, teasing the muscle but not quite breaching. Eddie still loose from Steve fucking him into the mattress this morning, waking his birthday boy up with lube and spit and tongue.
Eddie’s mouth is still obediently open and his sticky pink cock is dripping onto Steve’s thigh. ‘Swallow.’ Steve tells him and Eddie does with a whine. ‘Your turn, hump my thigh, like a good puppy yeah?’ Steve murmurs, kissing Eddie’s swollen lips and relishing in how sweetly he moans, Steve’s fingers finally sinking in.
And Eddie’s moving for real now, having been given permission. Able to take what he needs.
Steve knows he could be meaner, make him hold out for longer. But he can’t quite bring himself to be when Eddie’s been so good, taking everything and wearing his collar so well.
Instead he holds Eddie steady, curls his finger in and up. Watches Eddie’s eyebrows furrow, lips parting into a soft little o.
He holds his other arm further out, making the collar dig in to the pale skin of Eddie’s neck. Watching the lack of air make his eyes roll and his tongue fall out of his mouth, panting.
Eddie’s hips move faster, humping his balls over Steve’s thigh, his cock into Steve’s belly. He’s close. Steve knows from the shade of flush on his cheeks, the pitch of his moans.
‘Sweet puppy, cum for me.’ Steve says softly. Moving his fingers faster, tugging the lead harder.
Eddie opens his eyes, glassy with unshed tears, pupils so big they look black.
Eddie’s lips move but no words come out, just a long, agonising whine, as he spills all over Steve. Cumming into the hairs on his stomach, some dipping down into his pubes.
Steve keeps moving his hand, fucking Eddie’s hole, watching him squirm. But he lets the leash turn slack and allows Eddie to dip closer, plastering himself to Steve’s chest and licking into Steves mouth. More tongue than kissing - just how his puppy likes it.
Slowing his fingers once Eddie starts writhing, Steve pulls their mouths apart, wanting to see Eddie’s face.
He pulls his fingers out slow and unlinks the leash. Moving some of the sweaty hair from Eddie’s face and readjusting the collar so the ring sits in the centre of his pretty long neck. Eddie’s eyes are big and wet and shining, cheeks flushed and there’s a smear of spit across eddies cheek. ‘Beautiful.’ Steve tells him, kissing away a tear that's slipped out from Eddie’s lashes.
Eddie just whimpers, shuffling in closer and nuzzling at Steve’s cheek.
‘You want to take this off?’ Steve whispers, tracing the buckle at the back of the leather.
But Eddie just shakes his head, grunting.
‘Puppy not ready to talk yet?’ Steve asks and Eddie shakes his head again.
He must’ve dropped really far. Steve’s precious thing.
‘We need to clean up though, wanna crawl and get a cloth baby?’ Steve asks him. They can keep playing for a little longer, until Eddie’s eyes start to droop and Steve can carry him to bed, hold him close all night.
Ready to play again tomorrow, if Eddie wants, whatever Eddie wants.
