you know that one post that's like "inside my head is a five page essay with footnotes and when i speak it's just ouhghh blorbo he is so shaped". that's me with ethubs. not even kidding ethubs is the ship that made me finally "get" shipping in general, mcyt or not. i. words. i care them.

and uh there's. not rlly anything i can say i think that my ethubs moots haven't already said? They've been friends forever, they play off eachother super well, "he loves me", they're both so obsessed and in need of eachother but at the same time would rather eat raw, unpicked cactus than admit that, etc etc they're so unwell

Thankfully much less thoughts about these two or else this post would get way too long lmao. I like them but I'm not too insane about them I guess? Etho's very awkward near people he isn't used to which was fun to watch but made their interactions kind of limited for a lot of DL I feel.

Joel's obsession with Etho is hilarious and seeing Bdubs get jealous of his #1 ethogirl status getting challenged is great fun. He's definitely gone through a bit of an arc from "I KILLED ETHO! I KILLED ETHO!!" in Last Life to "Eefo D:< You're making me nervous, eefo D:<" in Double Life to whatever the cow divorce situation was in Limlife. It seems like Etho's otherworldly status has been nerfed in his head and he's much less intimidated by him, while still admiring him in that 'childhood hero' sorta way.

I think because of that I've always seen them a little bit as more of a mentor/prodigy relationship than anything else? Specifically one that Etho is not even aware he's in. Eitherway, I don't really ship them in the romantic sense 🤷‍♂️ etho's just way too aloof and joel's got too much fangirl energy for it to be anything intimate lol

Joel sort of gets dogs.

Not just in the he-has-sharp-teeth-and-wants-to-tear-people-up way, though he has that, and sometimes he wonders if he always had that, always had the pounding red mist in his head or if it had wormed its way in somewhere inside a wizard’s mountain and never gotten out until he couldn’t remember what it felt like not to have it chewing away at him and. He thinks he borrowed the sharp teeth from dogs, and sometimes he looks in the mirror and thinks, huh, he hadn’t always been like this, but frankly it’s sick as hell to be so visibly a monster so like, who cares, he’s badass—

Anyway.

The point is. He doesn’t have to be some kind of animal to get dogs, or like, that’s not the angle he gets dogs from. Or, he gets them like that? He doesn’t know, he’s bad at metaphors, god, why does he do this to himself? The point. The point is that he could get wolves but not really get dogs, if he wanted to, but he gets dogs too.

He didn’t always, really. Like, all he really needed was blood beneath his nails and between his teeth. Not really doggish, that. A wild animal. Dogs are all domestic. But…

So. Never tell Jimmy this. Joel will never hear the end of it. But he patted Joel on the head and Joel—maybe it’s silly. It’s a little bit silly. Jimmy is all… weak and floppy or whatever. Except he’d patted Joel on the head and really kept sticking around and Joel went:

Ah. Yes. I’ll die for you now.

And so like—he gets dogs, is the thing, because he’s a wild animal and he wants to kill and bite and he’s a monster and he’s proud of it and he’s not not a monster anymore it’s just… Jimmy put his arm around Joel last night and Joel almost cried, is the thing. Not sure how to explain that other than…

There are benefits to being a domestic monster?

Joel has a past with Etho, and It is the one secret that he keeps from Lizzie.

The war was still going strong, and Coral Crest just had a victory on the outskirts of their border. They took many prisoners in the aftermath of this long and bloody battle. Among these prisoners was Etho.

By this point in time Etho was pretty infamous and it was a big deal that he had managed to be captured at all, so his arrival at the castle, of course, caused quite the uproar. Joel was too curious for his own good, so he couldn't help but sneak into the dungeon while Lizzie and his father were asleep to see if the rumors were true. He was shocked to find that they were.

Etho struck up a conversation with Joel the second he got close enough to the cell. Joel, who hadn't even realized he had been spotted, was scared at first. However, he couldn't deny his curiosity, so he stayed and talked with him.

Etho admitted to Joel that he got captured on purpose, and that he was just bidding his time until Coral Crest put him on trial and had him killed. He talked about wanting to be free; free from the war, free from Wintertide, just free from it all, and that the only way he thought he would ever find that was through death. Joel asked why Etho was telling him this and he just shrugged and said he was going to die soon anyway so he might as well get it off his chest.

Joel went back every night after that to talk to Etho, fascinated by the strange enemy solider. As time passed, he got to know him, and in turn opened up to him as well. They became friends of sorts, or at least as close to friends as two people on opposite sides of the war could be.

He then realized that he really didn't want Etho to die, something that was inevitable the longer he was in Coral Crest. Months had passed since the initial capture, and they had indeed put him through a trial at this point. His sentence was death, just as Etho had predicted, and the date was fast approaching.

So, Joel did as he does best; he acted brashly and with little to no second thought.

In the dead of night, Joel set fire to one of trees in the courtyard. He had carefully planned it out and made sure that it would not spread to anything else, but it was still enough to cause a panic. While everyone was occupied by the flames, he stole the keys to Etho's cell and set him free.

Etho was confused and at first refused to leave the cell, determined to meet his fate on the gallows, but Joel told him to go have his second chance, make amends, and be free. Etho still wasn't sure, but he eventually caved, unwillingly to let Joel's kindness go to waste.

Somehow, Joel got away with it. He hasn't told a single soul about the deed, because if he did, he would surely be charged with treason. On Etho's part, he never told the tale of how he escaped, because he knew that in doing so, he would put Joel in danger.

Lizzie knows, but she doesn't say anything. She watched Joel sneak out every night, she watched him set the fire, and she watched Etho make his escape into the dark. She kept her silence over the years only because she trusts Joel with her heart and soul; she trusted his judgement enough to keep his secret.

Neither of them could have anticipated that Joel would come face to face with that familiar scarred man when Lizzie sent him to Wintertide to get in contact with the resistance.

Sorry guys. I'm ranting about Joel again because djskakaka that's my favorite guy. This post is a direct result of the tags in a post I reblogged and I just HAD TO TALK ABOUT IT MORE.

Okay, so Joel always carries himself to high regard. He has lots of confidence in himself, is generally apathetic and dry to any matter that doesn't concern him, and he overall loves to bite back at things. He's a big fan of chaos and violence, and stays generally bitter when things go badly for him. He can be ruthless and reckless and that's just natural for him because he's one of the many Life Series wolf-coded characters.

But something about Joel in Secret Life is just...kind? He's kind and caring, in his Joel Smallishbeans way. Especially in later sessions.

In Etho's little remembering the past era, he reassures him that he does still care for him. When Lizzie invites everyone to her party in a rushed frenzy, he attends because he thinks it's only fair. When Pearl was apprehensive about her task being guessed, he purposefully wastes his guess so she doesn't have to be worried around him. He trusts Jimmy to assist him with his task even while everyone else is cautious about his red name status. And when it all came down to it, Joel tells Martyn to stay back after all the reds have dropped like flies because even if all the reds were a threat to them, he still didn't want to see them all die in one episode.

In Secret Life, Joel still has everything he's always had. He's still bloodthirsty and holds silly grudges, evident with the whole Scott thing this session. He's still cheeky and likes to mess around and make sarcastic comments often, but at the end of the day he's Joel. He tends to stay loyal to his allies and I think he's more thoughtful than lots of people realize.

This may be part of the reason I love the Mounders. They were all sort of distant in the way they would wander off and do their own thing, but when it came down to it, they always stuck by each other. They remained loyal despite what seemed to be really loose ends tying them all together, and that means SO much to me! I guess it makes sense though; a team with the lonely wolf girl from Double Life and the lonely wolf boy from Last Life were enough to neutralize the whole, "Bdubs can be kinda disloyal" thing and the whole "Mumbo was apprehensive of any color lesser than he was" thing.

Anyways. Life Series Joel Smallishbeans. That's my guy bro...THAT'S MY GUYYYYYY

Also! The post that inspired this was by @simplydm! Their post about Joel's comment to Martyn reminded me how much that scene made me orbit around the moon so I thought they deserved to mentioned in this. Sorry to them if uh they didn't want to be tagged though. I will remove it if that ends up being the case!

@frogsquire i actually was talking about the ren and joel connections yesterday with the help of our good friend vampireautism but basically

so obviously we can make the easy connection of dogboys. ren rendog [his name, his skin, how he refers to himself ect ect] vs joel smallishbeans [its generally the army of dogs and how important they were to his 3rd life character as the lone wolf who was loyal to no one but himself]

but loyalty between the two of them is SO good. because ren is known for his loyalty. he has it in all of his seasons - martyn and how it was the two of them to the end. lizzie and how she was his queen and he didn't harm her even after they went separate ways. bigb and how he trusted him and they were a team no matter what was going on on the side.

but joel is different. joel is more well known for his being alone - in 3rd life, he was, like i said before, a lone wolf. he put up his flag for the red army, but it was convenience, not loyalty. and maybe that's where this loyalty thing seems to break apart, but it doesn't. because ren gives his loyalty early. immediately, even. he needs someone else to be there with him. he works best with a partner.

but joel doesn't need a partner. not like ren does. so we go to last life.

in last life, joel and scar were set up to be partnered. and i think joel was ready to give his loyalty to scar. but he hadn't yet. <- actually i haven't watched that episode in a hot min but he might have actually. i don't remember if joel was or wasn't going to try to kill scar but im p sure scar was going to kill him. if joel wasn't going to kill him then like. bangs on the walls are you listening to me. that was the beginning of his loyalty.] but the thing is that joel then turns red and they can't be partners because it's not allowed and-

joel was turned away. he was going to give his loyalty- maybe he already had - and was turned away. in fact . do you even know how fairydog that could have been. scar had lives. joel only had the one. lizzie had lives. ren had two. he could have given one. she DID give one. scar and joel's partnership could have continued on. lizzie and ren's partnership did continue on.

whatever. who even cares. whatever. anyway

here's where stuff gets really fun. double life. loyalty is coded into the game. they give you partners - hand them to you on a silver platter. joel didn't need a partner in 3rd life. he had dogs. in last life, the person he wanted to be his partner pushed him away. in double life? he has etho. and he's loyal. the ship, the shirt, the amount of care he shows in his way. he isn't like ren in the way that he'll bow and promise his life and his love and his everything. joel his rough around the edges, and so his his loyalty. but its there and it's REAL.

when the ship burns, everything burns, because that was the image of his loyalty, and you can't get rid of that without paying for it.

[mars mentioned "it's you and me to the death" versus "if the ship burns everything burns" and like. you get it. you get it.]

and then - and this is the big one - limited life. his loyalty is so... here for this one. and unfortunately, ren isn't. anyway.

he teams up with jimmy immediately. he teams up with grian so soon afterwards. they're the bad boys and the bad boys bread bridge and - and the team, like i said, is rough around the edges. joel's loyalty isn't kindness. it's friendship and more. it's "i'll kill for you" and he does. it's "i'll die for you" and him TRYING.

because that's the thing. his loyalty can be giving up everything. because when he's loyal to someone, they're everything to him.

My 'new Hermit' thoughts and predictions

Might as well record these thoughts here, so people can come back and point and laugh once we know who the new Hermits actually are ;)

So far, we have a few clues from the existing Hermits:

In a reply to Xisuma's tweet, both Doc and Cub made references to Snoop Dogg.

As a result of this, some people are speculating new Hermits whose names begin with 'S' and 'D'. We have a few choices for 'S' but the three that I've seen mentioned most often are:

Solidarity (Jimmy)

Smallishbeans (Joel)

Skizzleman

For 'D' there's only one I can think of (I'm not counting Dream, because there's no way it'd be him) and that's:

Dangthatsalongname (Scott Smajor)

However, Snoop Dogg could be a reference to something else entirely: "Fo shizzle". Which... kinda rhymes with someone's name, right?

Remembering here that the new Hermits are very likely to be people that many of the existing Hermits have interacted with in the past, either through the Life Series, MCC, Clash of the Creators, or other SMPs such as the Empires crossover. We know that new Hermits have to be agreed upon with 100% 'Yes' votes from all existing Hermits.

Two that I think we can discount are:

Pixlriffs

fWhip

Both of them, when asked (multiple times) in their streams, have said they're not interested in joining Hermitcraft. And in Pix's case it would be doubly awkward, since he's also the voice of the Hermitcraft Recap. So, much though I would love to see them both (Pix especially) on HC, it's not likely to be either of them. Of the two (if it were either of them) it would more likely be fWhip than Pix (though I would love to be proved wrong. This is mostly a Pix-centric blog, after all.)

Another outlier is:

MythicalSausage

Much though I love Sausage, and much though I think he'd be a great fit for HC, I don't think it's him. He loves his smaller, modded servers, and he's really into his roleplay, whereas HC is not really a roleplay server. They do have story arcs - and Sausage would be great in those - but I honestly don't think he's one of the two new Hermits.

So then our second clue comes from something ZombieCleo said, which was posted in Tango's Discord server. I'll paraphrase it below:

If the two new Hermits had TCG cards one would be a Balanced type, and the other would probably be Balanced or Builder.

i know there have been other hints (and slip-ups) on places like Twitch streams etc, but given just those two clues alone my predictions are:

New Hermit no.1 - Smallishbeans Joel has the building chops, and he's capable of putting in the grind typical of Hermitcraft. He'd also be all-in for pranks and server-wide shenanigans. He would be the Balanced/Builder type. New Hermit no.2 - Skizzleman Because honestly? Everything's pointing towards him being one of them. Particularly the Snoop Dogg references. Fo shizzle, it's Skizzle. (Although where he would find the time is another matter. From listening to the Imp & Skizz Podcast, that dude already seems busy as heck.)

hello! i just read through the rancher's apocalypse au and i love it a lot!! i was going through the locations, and people bit on the master post and saw 'Beandog'? and i didn't recall that, so i tried to find anything mentioning beandog but could not. my assumption is that Beandog is Joel's dog (bean, smallishbeans) and might be representative of all his dogs from 3rd life?? pls help with the mystery of bean dog ;;w;;

Hello! I don't blame you for not knowing that one I think about like 5 people actually do, Beandog is from an old among us stream (that I do not have the time to go look for rn sorry) that included Tango, Impulse, Grian, Rendog and Joel. At some point in the middle of the stream Rendog and Joel are palling around and joke about making an among us baby together and eventually name it Beandog. I wanted to give Lizzie's group more children so I used them.

hoooolyly shit cluster b joel smallishbeans mentioned..... i love cluster b hcs (especially bpd) in general (coughcough projection) so i look around regularly and theres barely ANYTHING. all this to say if u find anything interesting then do post about it

Cluster B Joel is so REAL & TRUE!!! I personally headcanon Joel Smallishbeans in Hermitcraft + Life Series to have BPD, Empires Mezalean King Joel to have NPD, and God Joel to have HPD. Not to say they are interchangeable, but each character has those specific struggles.

The main takeaway from this is that C!Joel has a personality disorder for SURES!! I truly do think he is the BPD rep we need. He is such an intimate and fascinating headcanon, especially in the backdrop of his interactions and just general character.

What I really love is that Joel is able to have BPD (or another cluster B) and still make sense as a character without being demonized or reinforcing stigmas. He is very caring and can be callous, but he is also highly self-conscious at the same time. He can come off as conceited, but nobody takes it as an act of malice. When he does something mean purposefully, it reads as very impulsive or sensitive. Lots of reassurance on both the giving and receiving ends... He is just very human and has habits he can't control well (BPD), but he's not treated as a villain, and people love him all the same despite or for those "eccentricities." They don't end their relationship with him, and they don't think he's any less capable than other hermits because it's built on a solid, understood foundation, not face value. They also make fun of those quirks sometimes, but in an effort to point them out, not dehumanise them (I miss you empires...)

It sucks that BPD, NPD, etc. are such controversial headcanons to have or sensitive topics to bring up. and you can't bring up their internal conflict and experiences without someone chiming in about how unsympathetic their condition actually is. But thats why I fucking love the BPD Joel headcanon because he is a great example of what its actually like having this disorder: secure friendships with rocky interactions + a thriving environment (hermitcraft especially) + reactionary but not inherently antagonistic or malicious actions even if its self serving.

I don't think joel is written in the lens of bpd for any of these but: @transfemzedaph has some of my most favourite writing on him if you want some more content anon. Specially this post (mounders), this mezealan kingjoel/rendog fic, and smallishtay being unbearable!!! and then this fic by zedif-y is fucking awesome too (he is so fucking bpd coded here...) and @theminecraftbee (the GOAT) has a whole persona au on him, i dont know persona but the fics are really good anyways, especially this one and this one about martyn + secret life

hello! I am very tired

i’ve been thinkin about a post-double life au where mumbo is there and the soulbound between scar and grian is still there, but since grian and mumbo share a soul now, they’re all soulbound (I did the maths and it works out but also i’m bad at maths so)

anyway i’m saying this because angst wise, scar getting three times the amount of injuries that he usually gets could definitely freak a guy out, especially a guy who is panicking slightly because he doesn’t remember getting half of these injuries, when did he burn his hand, and that’s definitely a redstone related injury when did he use redstone?

for a little bit none of them really. clock that they’re all bound, but eventually scar is sat on his bed or something, looking at his hands and watches with mild terror as his palm is slashed by an invisible blade

it takes a moment for him to calm down, but when he does he thinks about double life and soulbounds and how grian had mentioned that this one was especially experimental, hence the inability to use golden apples or potions without breaking the bond

(in this au grian was nice in dl because. I don’t like people not being nice lmao-)

a moment later he gets a message from grian saying to come to his and mumbo’s base and it’s then that they realise (after like, a month because they’re all idiots /aff) that yup they’re still bound

what follows is a give-scar-hugs session as he breaks down and explains how he thought he was going insane, which then turns into a group ‘roast’ (can’t think of a better way to say it lol) because how did none of them notice they have the exact same injuries they basically see each other every day

they ask around and turns out the soulbond is still connected for some people, but not everyone. the only common link is that the people who are still bound had a genuine connection with the person they were bound to

this raises. more than a few issues, including very strange death messages (Tango was slain by Smallishbeans using [Daddy Sausage’s Magical Wood Giver]) and the realisation that bonds are still connected, even between servers

they also learn that people on empires have really weird names for their tools

i’ve been trying and failing to write this for a couple days lmao, but I think it’d be so funny to just see the names of joel’s weapons pop up in hermitcraft chat

Life Series as Birds

I had the oddest sudden fixation to do some “light” bird research and determine that if each member of the Life Series was depicted as an avian, what bird would they depict. (may become a thread of changes)

So Grian is almost unanimously depicted as a Parrot, more specifically a Scarlet Macaw due to Season 7 “Pesky Bird”. As well as the birds sassy additude.

Same as Grian, possibly even more, Jimmy is commonly depicted as a Canary due to the Canary in a Coal Mine.

For Mumbo, I felt like the Northern Cardinal would be a nice fit due to its vibrant red and black coloring. Cardinals are also symbols of loyalty and devotion, rather fitting for someone who tends to be loyal to his allies. Cardinals are also often associated with passed loved ones visiting relatives in the form of Cardinals, which would fit seeing as Mumbo is usually one of the first out of the series.

Tango was actually the last one I chose, due to this, and an attempt to give each member a different bird, it was difficult. After some further research, I decided on the Whistling Kite for the reason that it's nicknamed one of Australia's "Firebirds" for their use of fire to catch prey.

Believe it or not, Impulse was actually the member who inspired it. Out of curiosity, I looked up Arizona's national bird and the Cactus Wren popped up and I could envision Impulse as a Cactus Wren with the browns and golden yellow with a nice touch of white.

As evident above, my first idea was looking up national birds. Despite being a small bird, The shade of grey that Canada’s national bird, the Grey Jay, has is similar to Etho’s minecraft skin hair color. Grey Jay's are also seen as a good omen, similarly to how people seem to gravitate towards Etho almost like hes a good omen or a good luck charm.

No matter all the birds I looked into, my brain kept saying Skizz for a Blue Jay. Blue Jays are associated with joy, happiness, along with some mischief, however, I would like to confess that I have yet to watch Skizz's pov of any of the seasons so i'm not as familiar with his personality as i am the others so if this choice seems uncharacteristic I apologize, but just imagine fanon Skizz with dashing sky blue wings.

Originally I was going to put Lizzie as a hummingbird because they are pollinators, small, and adorable. However, hummingbirds are green and im a sucker from “Small” Smallishbeans Joel. Not to mention how hummingbirds can sometimes be hostile with one another alot like how Joel tends to targets everyone regardless of who it is.

For Lizzie I decided a parakeet was a good choice for Lizzie because they're small, cute, and colorful. Parakeets are also very social and affectionate birds with lots of personality alot like how Lizzie is.

Parakeet was originally what I chose for Scott, but then I learned about Kenya’s national bird, the gorgeous Lilac-Breasted Roller which is perfect for Scott as it reminds me of his Empires Chromia outfit and all the beautiful things he creates. I mean LOOK AT IT!

For BigB, I decided to bestow him with my states bird, the Eastern Bluebird. Bluebirds represent joy, happiness, and luck. The Blue and orangish brown coat reminds me of Big B’s color palette of a blue sweater with a brown cookie on it.

Cleo has high Great Horned Owl vibes and you can’t convince me otherwise. Symbols of protection and not tolerating deception. GH Owls are also super intimidating in their size and appearance, fitting for the cutthroat Cleo.

During all of this, I almost gave up on the opportunity for Martyn as a Woodpecker. No need for further explanation, but I'll give you the symbolism: Optimism, new opportunities, and creativity which matches Martyn. (Edit: IVE JUST BEEN INFORMED THAT THE WOODPECKER IS ALSO ASSOCIATED WITH MARS SO YAH)

Ironically enough, I decided Gem would make a good Barn Owl, their white coat and owls being a figure of wisdom reminded me of Gem's Empires Season 1 as well as her enjoyment of birch. Barn Owls are also good hunters to it fits her like a glove

I wouldn't give up the opportunity to choose a hawk for Mr. GoodTimesWithScar.The Hawk I chose is the Cooper's Hawk. But really I chose a random Washington state hawk that I thought suited Scar.

For our favorite crazy Aussie, only Australia's national bird will do. I believe the Emu suits Pearl well because one, its national bird, and two, Emus are one of the dorkiest kinds of birds and have a lot of personality (and thievery skills).

For Ren, I almost went with the Peacock, but couldn't invision Ren as a Peacock, so instead of going the Royalty Route, I went the pun route. Ren…….as a Wren. A Musician Wren, Fitting for the Theater Nerd of the Life Series, no take backs.

For Bdubs, I went with the Orchard Oriole, A small bird that builds with, you guessed it, MOSS!

The Smallishbeans Fan Starter Guide

Have you seen Smallishbeans in videos and/or on your dashboard and thought “hey he seems cool I wanna check him out” but don’t know where to start? Well this post is for you!

“Who is Smallishbeans?”

His name is Joel and he’s a British survival builder who appears in SMPs such as X Life, Empires SMP, and 3rd Life and does lots of challenges like doing hardcore for 24 hours, not using a crafting table, and spending 100 days in a world to name a few. He’s the MCC competitor who keeps spilling his keyboard and had to get a sippy cup for the tournament, first person to ever 1v3 and did it against pink parrots MCC 8, won MCC 10, and attained the lordship Joel Jumperman after getting 8th place in MCC 9. He’s also LDShadowLady’s husband and frequently collabs with her. He was initially known for playing Call of Duty, in fact Smallishbeans was his Xbox gamertag, but now he’s the Joel we all know and love, who loves to cook, loves his wife, is a big nerd, got two pets, loves to mess with his friends, and play in block game :)

“Where can I find him?”

He posts videos and streams on Youtube. He usually streams when it’s MCC b/c he personally doesn’t like the stress of streaming but he has streamed plenty of times before in the past. As of when I’m writing this, he’s planning on streaming more during Empires season 2. He also has a Twitter and Instagram if you wanna check him out elsewhere. His channel also links to his clips channel, Smallishbeans Clips, and extra videos channel called, More Smallishbeans.

“Where do I start?”

Anywhere! He doesn’t have any heavy lore if that’s what you’re worried about. I think the only thing he references is Jeremyism, which is a religion centered around naming everything Jeremy and also praying to Donkey Jeremy which he did during X Life. Joel doesn’t reference other series too unless it’s multiple seasons and he usually mentions it offhandedly. I’d say just start with a one off video or short series and then move to a long series.

“How would you describe him?”

Extra, sarcastic, overconfident while also being insecure, crazy, mean girl, pathetic, funny, angry short king, and bi wife

THE EARTH, mr bigb. listen i know i said that pluto jimmy was the only one i was ride or die for. but consider. BIGB EARTH. its the vibesss its the vibesssss. also the the earth and the moon being the nosey neighbours is special to me :')

THE SUN, ms zombiecleo. this one is because i personally do believe that cleo is more powerful that scar and that he should be jealous of her power. also that she *should* be able to eat time and space. i should clarify,

TIME, mr bdoubleo. patron of clocks, arbiter of night and day. hes the time king, ok?? i dont need to explain. also cleo wants to eat him.

SPACE, mr ethoslab. he gets to be space partially because of his deification by the fandom, partially as a duo with time bdubs, and partially because i think that cleo should eat him!!

BLACK HOLE, mr joel smallishbeans. now this one is part of my bad boys agenda. first of all black holes are bad bitches, and as a bad boy joel is also a bad bitch. second i find the trio of pluto jimmy, black hole joel and supermassive black hole grian conceptually amusing. oh yeah,

SUPERMASSIVE BLACK HOLE, mr grian dreamslayer. as the creator of the life series, i feel like hes earned the right to be the centre of the universe. also because his number of subscribers in comparison to other members might seem supermassive. mostly because i find the idea of the largest object in the universe looking at "smaller than average" pluto and losing his shit very funny.

PROTOSTAR, mr mumbo jumbo. partially because hes one of the youngest members, mostly because supermassive grian calls him "perfect".

TRIPLE QUASAR, mrs lizzie ldshadowlady. a quasar is a celestial body that forms as a result of a black hole, allowing her to match with joel :') i thought it was cute.

HALLEYS COMET, mr tango tek. as a firey, solitary traveller through space i thought it was a nice callback to season 8. also, i just like the vibes.

since those are all the celestial bodies or concepts mentioned in the song, this list doesnt include all of the life series members. i have a seperate list for them >:) but this is. already so long. ill spare you.

Gem's kingdom is really cute. Just saying it now, I adore sunrise and sunset colors, I hope she somehow incorporates magenta and pink into her build pallette which are underrated sunset and sunrise colors, the pink and purple being the colors right between night and day, dusk and dawn.

The soul fire will-o-the-wisp is a nice touch for lore.

I hope she and Katherine get into a Princess quest thing soon. Afaik they're canonically the only self-identifying princesses of the server.
