I usually like to imagine that Beast! Sskk's relationship is just as intense and, if not, even more tumultuous than than canon! Sskk, but the other part of me says they get together quicker (whether they work together as partners quicker or simply become boyfriends quicker, your pick) entirely because I find the prospect of the beast! ADA interaction with Beast! Atsushi so funny

Like on one hand, Atsushi is known as the White Reaper of the Port Mafia, one of the most terrifying and ruthless assassins. But he also has the personality of a very skittish cat that stands in corner of the room and does not talk to people aside from stare at them (its the anxiety) but since he masks his usual emotions so much he just looks really menacing.

And on the flip side the ADA cherishes Akutagawa; they trust him and they believe in his intuition, so if Akutagawa assured them that there is no harm in Atsushi's presence, then surely they have nothing to worry about, right? Yeah but they forget Akutagawa's weird as fuck and finds companionship in the most questionable people, so they should've figured to prepare themselves in advance

So now there are rules in the ADA regarding Atsushi when he is in their building:

1.) Akutagawa needs to stay in the room and keep atsushi company for everybody's mental health (so many weapons came out in the 3 minutes it took for Akutagawa to go to the cafe for a snack and come back)

2.) Dont stare tiger boy in the eyes too long he'll get defensive (at least he was kind enough to repair the broken wall in the agency office)

3.) Dont turn the lights off when he's in the room he blends too well in the dark (everyone had at least 2 heart attacks cause they couldn't see or tell he was there)

4.) Dont take photos of him he'll know when the camera is pointed at him (fukuzawa tried to video him playing with the trinkets and Akutagawa's desk and he got so embarrassed he left and ghosted everyone for a few weeks)

5.) Dont comment on the amount of sugar he takes (emotional support sugar packets for his coffee. Same incident as rule.4)

6.) If sskk does some out of pocket homoerotic enemies type shit, ignore them. They're not gonna stop. (Ada made a betting pool, and it keeps pooling in more money. Akutagawa doesn't know its existence yet)

Second of all Beast ada is SO unhinged, they all literally went “this is our little murderous wet dog of a new member and this is his doubly murderous catboyfriend”. I love the set of rules, in my mind Kunikida actually wrote them down and hang them next to the door of Fukuzawa's office, hoping it could help avoid confusion in the office as much as possible. They are updated occasionally. I love Atsushi being... Completely unstable like yeah that's literally everything Beast Atsushi is (on the verge of breakdown / violent panic attack 24/7). Like he IS a feral cat he IS going to launch at you and scratch your face. And I LOVE how Akutagawa's presence instantly calms him because??? It would??? Because they have this unmatched connection and Atsushi knows no one understands him as deeply as Akutagawa does, and that at least is comforting and soothes him and makes him feel safe. + major abandonment issues that will have him quietly (and then not so quietly) spiral into panic as soon as Akutagawa is gone and he's left alone in an environment he's not familiar with. I'm dying at the idea of Atsushi ghosting the ada for weeks on more than one occasion that's such a dysfunctional behavior and that's so him I love it. I love all of these brilliant spectacular showstopping thank you so much Anon I owe you my life

lines being switched between people and shit is such a weird change to me. It changes things a lot and Anakin saying "All of this is unusual, and it's making me feel uneasy." is VERY different than Obi-Wan saying it (like he does in the movie)

Bahrain unserious race overview by me part 1

1. Red Bull

MAXIE VERSTAPPEN YOU ARE MY IDOL. Perfect Amazing Showstopping Looking hot on that podium I love you to death. Perez you are bad at driving. If I had a 20 second Gap to my teammate with noone in between on race 1 I would simply retire. That's all I have to say. Other than that, they do not seem as ahead as the commentators are saying. Max is just too good with noone with skill In a good car being able to even come close to him (thank you George).

2. Ferrari

Now lets get serious. What can I say other than dissapointed but not surprised. So much talk about Ferrari being more reliable, Ferrari not fucking over Charles, Ferrari this Ferrari that and look where we are after race one. I see the pain in Charles' eyes and I feel it. I'm so sorry this had to happen to him. He should've fought Max. He could've fought Max. Instead he was fighting Ferrari's demons. He did so well considering and I am extremely proud of him for that drive. He deserved driver of the day for this race. Nothing more to say about it really.

Carlos... congrats on being mid I guess. Why he didn't go after Perez is a mystery to me. It's what happens when you care more about beating your teammate than beating other teams. As soon as Carlos is ahead of Charles his race is over. That much is clear. And then he went and both lied about having issues and bragged about "doing a couple good overtakes " what do you mean?? What do you fucking mean your teammate was having issues and let you through the second time. Bragging about overtakes on your struggling teammate. Low and disgusting.

3. Mercedes

They are slow. Their car is shit. All George did with that overtake on Charles (while he was having issues mind you) was let Max get away with his slow pace. That Mercedes can not keep up with the Red Bull. Their happiness lasted for one (1) FP session.

Hamilton... had a broken seat? I honestly forgot he was there.

4. McLaren

A quiet race for them. Is the title contender team in the room with us? They're on pace with Mercedes while Ferrari and Red Bull still feel ahead of both of them. I think they will improve tho. Glad Oscar had a nice race.

5. Aston Martin

Meh. Okay I guess. Even their positions show it. The Alpine of 2024 so far.

so last year my always wonderful and dearly beloved @duquesademiel tagged me in a game that said i had to list three things i was proud of in 2022, and i've been thinking about that a lot so here's three things i was proud of in 2023!

i started posting my fics here and on ao3! this was a big thing for me because it was the first time in my life i took my craft seriously and gave it the love and respect it deserves, and i've been really enjoying it! i feel like i know myself better as a writer and as a person, and i've been able to explore a lot of topics i was interested in through my writing and purge some demons in the process. (if you're curious about it, you can read all 147.3k words of my eddie munson fic here, i'm almost done with chapter 24 and will be updating soon!)

i made new friends! i'm a fairly shy person, even if i'm a friendly bunny (i'm still friends with the same group of people since i was six!!! that's over two decades of friendship!!!) so imagine my surprise when i found a new group of friends here that i talk to on a daily basis, that i get to share my life with, and that claim to??? love me??? is this real life??? so shoutout to my spice gorls, and thank you for making this year so much fun and full of love. and while we are at it, shoutout to my q&d besties who i got to hug and kiss and laugh with for a few days during the winter holidays. my heart is much bigger, fuller and healthier because i have you in my life. i'll tag you all below hehe

i grew as a person. still in therapy, just like last year, but i made a lot of progress! 2023 was one of the toughest years of my life, i lost my two grandmothers and it shook my foundations deeply because i am who i am mostly thanks to the women that have raised me, but even when faced with the utmost pain and grief i've ever experienced, i still consider 2023 as a year of growth and profound happiness. my grief may never leave me, but i've found out that i am strong enough to carry it, to let it mold me and, most importantly, to let it soften me. i feel like i love more wholeheartedly and unabashedly now, and i am aware of how finite life is and just how much i want to be here. 2022 bunny would be amazed at how much 2023 bunny wanted to keep living, and that's the thing i'm most proud of and that i'm carrying with me into the new year.

we made it, 2024. let's fucking go <3

Monoma headcannons :

— as much as most people think it would be toxic with dating Monoma, they would be wrong. I can see complications but that's all settled if the chance to communicate and set boundaries was given and taken.

— forces you to watch the Lord of the rings franchise and the hobbit but still talks over the movie. ( probably to explain some heavy detailing and differences between the books )

my opinion on;

character(s) in general: girl which ones?? all of them are perfect in my opinion. literally love them so much. they're the only versions i can imagine my muses interacting with bc we've built so much for them. mica has helped me develop maul and anakin in particular. and dryden a good bit too. bode will get there eventually, just got slightly less spoons for the man atm. but yeah, i love 90% of the muse list and can be easily swayed into loving the other 10% too.

how they play them: spectacular. amazing. showstopping. better than the actual fucking writers. adore mica's portrayals and my muses are physically fused to her ones. anakin and maul are koala hugging obi-wan and feemor. and then anakin is also koala hugging his group of boyfriends kfjngbkdvf

mica takes excellent care with all of her muses. has done far more research than i could ever hope to do and is more than happy to share her knowledge. all of her muses feel different when reading replied, whether it's their dialogue or the descriptions of different things. just!! amazing.

you said in your chapter notes that this chapter was hell so write/edit and that you hope your efforts were worth it, and i just need to say, with all my heart: they were!!!!! the chapter is fantastic and awesome! and wonderful! and showstopping spectacular never been done before ladygaga.gif

it might be my favourite chapter so far, possibly. i love them both gaining confidence and getting a bit more open and willing to get that vulnerable and truthful (within themselves, as well as to each other) and are actually facing up to what they want and are actually in proper communication about it. i’m so impressed with them for that given… everything about them. i might be more excited about their first proper session than they are.

this chapter was excellent and i can’t wait for the next one. take care, and i hope this next chapter is way more fun to write.

This is such a good one!!!

Let's start with Bob.

This might be a weird one, but I feel like Waving Through A Window from Dear Evan Hansen perfectly captures his self-doubt. How he always feels as if he isn't good enough, even with his restaurant (but even then, he struggles to look on the bright side when they're almost always going under) and he struggles to connect with people a lot (except for Linda and his kids, of course). Dead Mom from Beetlejuice is also a good one for him, for obvious reasons. I feel like that song just really applies to him, especially the line "Every day dad's staring at me, like all 'hurry up, get happy. Move along, forget about your mom'".

For Linda, she was definitely a harder one to pick out a song for. But, I think Tomorrow from Annie just perfectly captures Linda's unstoptimistic spirit. That no how no matter what trials and tribulations she, Bob, and the kids go through, she'll always look forward to tomorrow. And also, My Favorite Things from The Sound of Music also perfectly captures her willingness to look at things that bring her joy rather than strife. I could easily imagine her randomly singing this to the kids.

For Tina, she was also a harder one to pick out a song for. But Helpless from Hamilton definitely captures her upbeat, romantic side. This song could easily be a fantasy she's dreamed up in one of her Erotic Friend Fiction stories starring herself and Jimmy Jr. Also, Kindergarten Boyfriend from Heathers makes me think of Tina and Jimmy Jr. because of the whole "I love you and always have, but even after all this time, I still can't have you" vibes.

For Gene, Rose's Turn from Gypsy suits him because of how it deals with the singer feeling as if they've been overlooked, and it's also just a super fun, showstopping tune that I think Gene would adore. Also Dancing Queen from Mama Mia (and also by Abba) suits Gene as well. Not for any deep reason, it just gives off Gene vibes to me because of how it's about making the most of your life, and I think he would enjoy that.

For Louise, If I Were A Man from The Unofficial Bridgerton Musical fits her absolutely perfectly. It's basically her in song form in my opinion. This is definitely her anthem, wanting to break free from gender norms and societal expectations, but still being unable to. I also think Defying Gravity from Wicked suits Louise, because of her wanting to be different, and once again, break free from expectations that are placed upon her.

As a bonus, Only Us from Dear Evan Hansen would be a nice Boblin song. And also, Friend Like Me From Aladdin would be a good fit for Teddy. I could totally imagine him singing this to Bob out of nowhere one day. It suits his enthusiastic personality well, and how much he desires to prove himself to other people, especially Bob.

listen. listen I knew everyone would be okay because you posted the valentine's and pond one-shots but like… i was still worried. in the moment all that knowledge was gone and i was on the edge of my seat. god all the scenes with the hunter being trapped in their body were just oof. and everything about demonic possession is so visceral and nasty it's awful. i love it

i'm so glad vanessa is (relatively) okay! that was the only thing i wasn't sure about since she was (and still is) pretty rough. she and the hunter can finally rest knowing glitchtrap has been obliterated out of this plane of existence. good riddance!!

Hey, nothing too big this time as I've had a rough week and I'm currently dogsitting a dog that ain't mine so my brain power is more or less incoherent and shot, just passing on by to wish you a Merry Christmas (or whatever you celebrate) and to thank you for all your work in the fandom!

First of all, I've only know of Mess Au existing for like an hour and a half but I already adore the life out of it, Rip Player and their sanity due to the Evil Chain running around but I am thriving on their content with the Ganons. And, there's a discord? *Confused guitar sounds from a Musician*

Also I'd die for Pastuzo, just saying, if dangerous wild animal then why friend and hug shaped? I've only know him for a day and a half but if anything happened to him I'd murder everyone in the Yigah Clan and then myself, Player is lucky if it was me there with Nat I'd immediately pat, bless that guy (also Rip Nature and his food, I hope he knows that my version of Fia/Seraph is cackling at his misery, just straight up rolling on the floor), and the entire section with Eve? Perfection, outstanding, showstopping, honestly given I'm a reader myself I'd probably chill with him, and I hope Player gets to introduce books from their world to him because something tells me he'd love a wider selection, I am thriving so much with this thank you for the food of Ganon-Player Found Family. *Bows* Also, I kind of want the Ganons to meet Og Chain now, it would be funny.

Also, Player's Aid Au where everything is the same but the reason why Legend dislikes Players is that the only time he remembers with his Guide is in Koholint so that's why he's so Claude Frollo when it comes to them, the trauma is making him suspicious. Or alternatively, where Player is actually a Witch but like A Wadanohara Sea Witch rather than the standard type, like instead of a broom they have a staff with an anchor at the end they use to fight and fly (as well as several other anchors and fish hooks on their design), an Ocarina for healing spells, some control over water and basically does what the Links do but with a twist: protects the ocean and people's dreams, no one in the Chain would ever have a nightmare while they're around, bonus points if we give them a seagull familiar that can turn human, or that it's just straight up Marin, or if because Mipha is a Zora and Zora are sea creatures if they make her a familiar she can also join the Chain or heck even Nayru idk haven't thought that far ahead.

Legend: They're a Witch!

Sea Witch Player, feeding seagulls with Aryll: ... Yes? I did go to witch school in the witch world, and? Do you want to see my certificate and PhD in witchcraft or something?

One thing for sure is that if Sea Witch ever saw the Wind Fish fhey just straight up roll up their sleeves, go "Hold my staff and anchor earrings Rulie/Wild/Wind/Nat/Grandpa Tides" and just try to fistfight it, no magic involved, that or they'd be yelling expletives at it with at least one Chain or Passel/Singular (a group of hogs/boars) member holding them back from fighting it, bonus points if they do the same for Dark Link if they went through the same trauma Wada did or have moon trauma like Time too.

... Now I'm thinking about how the Chain or Ganons would react to Indie games, hm... Eh, maybe in another ask, Tides and Time would mentally adopt Niko from One Shot, or any child protagonists so fast I can literally see it, Time would literally feel smacked by Hello Charlotte and Undertale, and Legend would have a love-hate thing for both Omori, Yume Nikki and Dreamfarer and Hyrule would get so much trauma from Mad Father, gotta think of any other ones for another ask.

Anyway, happy holidays and hope you're having a better existence than I am currently!

Tbh, Tide I feel is an Animal Crossing lover (I know it's not an indie game but still), he enjoys the calmer life.

Top 10 Character Essence

It's tag game time again!

@tabswrites and @hollyannewrites challenged (and I do mean challenged) me to name my top ten characters "decided by their essence or meaning to you."

A challenge to give your Top 10 favourite characters, based on their ESSENCE. They have to be favourite characters that also have a deeper literary value, where you enjoy their specific role in the story, and this means that the list also should exclude characters that would normally count as favourites if for purely nostalgic reasons. They can be from film, tv, or written media, anything.

Thank you! I hope I fulfilled the challenge the way it was meant to be fulfilled!

Although TBH, I can't believe I'm even attempting to tackle this. I have to choose only 10? I think it goes without saying this list is not exhaustive, nor does it represent all of my favorite books/movies/media. I really did try to capture the question by focusing on "essence and meaning" (including how they've influenced my own writing and not just "random characters I like." I also have to attempt not to write an essay for each because we don't want to be here all night.

Charlotte Doyle (The True Confessions of Charlotte Doyle by Avi) Rich girl in the early 1800s gets on a ship with a mutinous crew and an evil captain, joins the crew, defeats the captain using only her wits, miraculously makes it home, AND THEN DECIDES TO GO BACK TO SEA AND BECOME A SAILOR. I read this all in one sitting one night when I was about 15 (after avoiding it because I thought it looked boring) and then literally decided to reshape my entire life based on it (I'm not kidding). Yes, I actually took up sailing. Also, there's a hot sailor that she obviously has chemistry with but it's left unresolved, and no one has ever written a future fic about it to my knowledge, and that's a CRIME. So yeah, step right up.

John Bender (The Breakfast Club) He's not just the original '80s bad boy with a Dark and Troubled Past, but what most people forget about him is that he's also hilarious. It's a rare combination. Honorary mention to his love interest, Claire, and not just because of her name.

Fantine (Les Miserables by Victor Hugo) - Mostly the book version of her, though she obviously has a showstopping number in the musical as well. She was the sad, angsty character I needed during the most sad, angsty period of my life. She was a poor, lonely urchin who found fleeting love and happiness in the spring, got abandoned and pregnant in the winter -- and it only got worse from there. Also, apropos of nothing, at one point, I wrote a short story featuring a dog by the same name -- who, um, died.

The Artful Dodger/Dodger (Oliver Twist by Charles Dickens/Oliver & Company) - I'm including both the human version and the dog version of this character because I love them both (though I actually prefer the Disney movie, lol). They're both thieves with devil-may-care attitudes, with soft spots for those more vulnerable than themselves. Plus, the dog version is Billy Joel, wears sunglasses, and plays piano with his tail, which -- I don't care what anyone says -- will never not be cool.

Satine (Moulin Rouge) - She was the beautiful, sparkling, singing, dancing tragic sex goddess I so badly wanted to be. So much so that as recently as five years ago when I reluctantly dressed up for a Halloween party, I chose her silver-dress-and-top-hat ensemble.

Rick Blaine (Casablanca) The most endlessly quotable character from one of the most endlessly quotable and romantic movies of all time. He sticks his neck out for no one. Except, oops, wait, he does. The OG Hollywood antihero with a Dark and Troubled -- whatever, you know the drill. Plus, he's also my dad's favorite character in his favorite movie (and I discovered it because of him), and so this pick has sentimental meaning for me.

Leah Price (The Poisonwood Bible by Barbara Kingsolver) - When we read this book in high school, she was the least popular character, probably due to her unwavering love and support for her dad, even though he was a singular-focused religious zealot who destroyed his entire family by dragging them into the African jungle in an ill-thought-out missionary trip. And then she married a guy with some of the same qualities (but he was better, thankfully). But for whatever weird reason, I related to her most. Anyway, for class, I wrote and tried to perform a monologue where I played her but forgot 90 percent of my lines. Oh well.

Mary Lennox (The Secret Garden by France Hodgson Burnett, I found the movie version fairly meh) There were a lot of spunky, iconic childhood book heroines to choose from, but she was Mary, Mary Quite Contrary, and so I choose her. (I got told to "smile" a lot as a kid). Also, as I mentioned in a previous post, I was a Mary/Dickon shipper before I even knew what shipping meant.

Neal Caffrey (White Collar) - Does anyone remember this show? I have no attention span for TV, and this is probably the last scripted show I remember watching every episode of during its original run, which is saying something. Everything I know about being a con artist (in fiction, lol) I learned from this charming, charismatic art-forger-turned-FBI-consultant. I think he also has the honor of being the subject of the first actual fanfic I ever wrote.

Iris Chase Griffin (The Blind Assassin by Margaret Atwood) I also had to pick one character of my favorite author, so Iris gets the crown. She starts off the story as an old lady looking back to when she was forced to marry some rich asshole instead of the science fiction writer (with a past that was -- wait for it -- Dark and Troubled) who BOTH she and her sister loved, and meanwhile, her sister became a writer and when she died it was discovered that -- oh, just read the goddamn book, I won't spoil it for you here.

Palaestrio and Milphidippa (Miles Gloriosus by Plautus) Same as above.

Michael Furey (The Dead by James Joyce) Who is, in fact, dead throughout the story -- but being alive wasn't one of the requirements.

I wish I could include a Star Wars character, but could never decide, so let's say, oh, all of them, except that one you hate.
