hey guys! I might go quiet a bit on here due to Life but

- the August first practice interactive scene is next

- I have the G and V scene

- I have an interactive flashback scene between seven x mc I want to do

As for public, I did say I wanted to do something for free so I’m working on that and

as for part 2, idk if I’m gonna finish it by September 💔 but early October is my latest goal

Hello!! i just wanted to say that your art is so so so yummy. absolutely wonderful 💕 specially the solid black shading. do you have any tips or tricks for it?

hello first of all thank you second of all sorry for taking so long to reply i wanted to actually sit and think about how to respond because i suck at explaining myself sometimes lol

but anyway. if i were to put into words how i go about the solid black parts of my shading i'd say i take two things into account: the places where the strongest shadows would be, and how the pitch black helps with a silhouette.

let's use this chuuya:

as you can see i use the pitch black in fairly obvious places: under the hat and shoes, the part of the palm covered by his fingers on his right hand, you name it.

but then there's places like the coat which would get much more light than that, and that's where the silhouette part comes: i make the conscious choice to cover most of it in black and, that way, his body stands out more, and there's a better contrast- and that works particularly well when the object in the front and the one in the back are of similar colours/values.

and you may also notice that i don't let the black touch the borders, which helps in not letting the shadows merge with one another.

as for the shapes (?) i add to the lower parts of sleeves/pants/coats/etc., there isn't really much of an explanation i can give since it's merely a stylistic choice that my brain made by going "lower part = less light = solid black" and i sort of just wing it until it looks nice lol

but yeah. hope all of that is understandable enough
