I say this respectfully
Where the hell do you get your submas merch??? I'm dying over here, I ain't got nothing. Not big into pokemon but submas and Eevee have a choke hold on me
Many were with gifts, from etsy, or from some friend’s shops! Off the top of my head, here’s a few submas artists that have submas things:
@joltiklitwik (twitter): a widest range of different submas merchandise: from stamps, wristlets, shaker charms and more - all super cool and cute! a new wave of submas merch coming soon too!
https://izuma.storenvy.com/
@cecilioque (@/sunjuicypins on twitter) submas clothing and pins! cute stuff and coming out with some new submas plushies too!
https://sunjuicyshop.com/shop/
@fukurinn: simply amazing prints, stickers, and charms! love their colors to bits!
https://ko-fi.com/fukurinnnn/shop
@submashell: sticker sheets and single stickers that are just adorable! (their status submas stickers aren’t listed anymore tho)
https://www.etsy.com/shop/qoodling?ref=shop-header-name&listing_id=1258999636&from_page=listing
Those are just a few I’ve bought from personally but if you look up the word “submas” on Etsy, you’ll find so many other artists selling charms and stickers and much more!
I tend to also buy any merch of submas’ pokemon teams too! ( like @starsalts have a ton of cute pokemon only merch that are very submas core!) Good luck in your search to submasify your life!

Waaaaay back on April 1st, there was the Edwardian Ball!! A fantastic event to throw myself back into Life after covid lockdowns. A quick email check shows I’ve been attending the Ball every year (minus 2021) since 2008- back when they were at the Great American Music Hall!
It’s been good, it’s been great, it’s been iffy, it’s been meh, it’s been a long time. This year was one of the better and I cherish in particular the memory of dancing like mad while staring up at the pulsing lights and firmly holding onto the feeling of ‘this is what a good time feels like’ - tending to a particular itch that hadn’t been scratched since 2020...
I’ve been sketching at the Ball for years  [2018 / 2015 / 2015 / 2013 / 2013 / 2008 / 2008 / 2008 ] in notebooks purchased or made (before bookbinding I used my sewing machine to make a booklet 😅) and this year was no exception. The “book” was a little speed-run of assembly that afternoon focusing on: toned pages, a secure clip to hang from belt, coptic stitch to open easy/wide, and a yellow tone to match my outfit. Success?
One of the highlights for me was seeing both new acts & attendees but also the old & familiar ones. In particular I’ve been sketching Justin Katz (first picture) from Rosin Coven (contrabass) this whole time. Distinctive, friendly, easy to capture from stage’s edge or balcony. Seeing him (and nailing a not-bad imo sketch) of him brought great joy-- is this what playing Pokemon feels like? Also beloved is Shovelman (third picture)! Big fan of his music (bought a CD years ago) and of his look- been enjoying (and sketching) his act for years, even caught him at Make Faire once!
More pictures & mutterings under the cut
Really appreciated the removal of the VIP level this year-- I used to purchase it and the spirit of elitism does seem in-line with the theme of the Ball but it’s just better gone. Curious to see how it goes next year-- sad that it’s moving back to early February -- seemed fitting to be on April Fool’s day and I didn’t get fucking rained on waiting to get in....
Being able to stand basically in-line with the stage, perched at the far end of the balcony, is a boon for sketching. I mean, yes, I do enjoy a good dance & doodle but that’s hard to maintain the whole night.
Tumblr media
Downstairs, in the vendor hall, sports a charming little stage that I enjoy visiting. This year had a trio working it for large stretches- some sort of... swing? Makes me think of a French cafe? My naming of genres is weak... Was able to (poorly) captured the artists from a couple different angles however. Of seven sketches, only two came out- one of which is my favorite of the night (image above, between pictures of spines) which suggests something to me about trying and not giving up and failure is a side effect of process and eventual success or something.
Tumblr media
Used somewhere around 2/3rds or 3/4ths of the pages, probably good for one more concert/event. For I swear-- attending a show w/ sketchbook in hand (provided there’s enough ambient lighting to see your page) is one of the best ways to consume live music. Can always tuck it away if the jams are particularly divine but to sway and sketch.... some quality active listening there and you get artifacts better than a photo to recall the event by!

Just a quick question but what often gets you inspired?✨
Oh boy ehhhhhh - here we go to the never ending rabbit hole!!
Sometimes small things gets my attention like e.g. squirrels paws, unique red face of a person at a cold day or seeing chair upside down on icy lake (honestly I am now working on long comic about trolls inspired by that chair).
Comic art and animations inspires me greatly! Lately I have been inspired by animations gems like the thief and the cobbler, treasure island from 1988 (and other Soviet Union animations) and the king and the mocking bird. The animation process fascinates me greatly, how can one make smooth and imaginative animations is wonderful! I can't get enough of it all.
Also concept of kindness inspires me greatly. I have gone throw...lets say a lot. I love stories that show kindness where it is needed, e.g. Tove Jansson's story of invisible child. The child was bullied by their family so much that they turned completely invisible and lost their own voice, eventually they found confidence and selfworth in themselfs thanks to kindness of Moomins. I want my feelings to be seen and heard but sometimes world or people are overwhelming. Kindness is important, otherwise we will fall apart or at least I do. I am still on my way to be kind and understanding of myself and othets but those qualities are more important to me than ever.
Couple weeks ago I started to collect stuff that inspires me or I find interesting. I will list most of them below. If I am not saying anything about certain box, it means I enjoy the show/comic/meme/animal but cannot put my finger on why. Usually those make me smile and give new pespective about life. Somethings might be there twice because I am forgetful baboon!
Tumblr media
Junji Ito's horror comics are visually out of this world! But my fav is his humorous comic about his cats. It was so different from his other comics that I fell in love with it.
Emma manga made by Kaoru Mori. Usually I can't stand romantic stories but the characters but the story and the art works perfectly together in her comics.
Comics and animations of @cecameron are gorgeus and fun!
Tove Jansson's books, comics, art and life in general.
Rainbow Road from Muppets is my favourite song and I wish it would be played at my funeral one day. Its hopeful song that fills me with joy.
Entranta from Shera. She never gives up, I wanna be like her! I wanna see failure is part of the process and helps me get further little by little + its nothign to be shamefull of.
Ponyo's fathers frustration is relatable, also the whole movie is wonderful and colorful. Its maybe my favorite ghibli movie.
Scarr my beloved weirdo! The image was in the tarot pack of the grim adventures of Billy and Mandy and he is of course the hermit (which is my personality card)
@deep-dark-fears comics surprise me by giving new ideas to express fear.
Hugo Simberg was Finnish artist at 1900's. Symbolism and sympathetic characters of devils and death has inspired me since I was 8 years old.
Treasure planet is one of my favourite disney movies. The father son relationship between Silver and Jim is great and makes me cry everytime.
Hypnopotamus and Warren Stone from ROTTMNT. Their relationship is wholesome and inspiring + the show itself is fun, full of action and passion! I love it!
Tintin comics are almost religious in my family. It was one of the first comics I saw different from different parts of the world and how tintin could become friends even the most oddest (looking at you captain Haddock) people is marvellous.
The penguin my belowed ❤❤❤
Mörkövahti is Finnish children book that accidentally inspired me greatly. The world of troll like creatures, magical elements in the story and research of the creatures made me fall in love in the world of the books. I often love to read books for kids or teens, they are more interesting and I don't have to fear to be faced with rape, sexism and other nasty stuff.
Stop motion animation and expecially Arman animations have been always part of my life. I have soft spot for the pirates movie thanks to it's humor, naivety and animation style.
Adventure time is one of my favourite series and couple of things stuck with me. Some people are build different, you don't have to understand it but you need to respect them. I love this idea greatly and I try to live by it.
Pinsir is my favourite pokemon and it says a lot.
Mr Pogo and other smart ape characters inspire me greatly. No wonder new planet of the apes trilogy is part pf my movie collection. I am not sure why I love smart apes as characters but it always works.
Wander over yander whole concept is to be kind and help people out, I love it.
Peto was made for me by @elle-eedee at lgbtq trolls discord server. Peto ended up becoming my ultimate comfort character and I love to draw him and make stories for him. I loved the way elle-eedee combined my favorite things to create him ❤ also their colorful art inspires me everyone I see it.
@alioutfit blog is blog of style choices of man named Ali. I want to find my own style like Ali.
The murder she wrote is nostalgic for me and I wanna get into that series again! The fact smart older woman is the main focus inspires me. I love Agatha Christi stories too so it checks out.
Hugs + rottmnt. I love hugs and the show has a lot of good hugs!
Don Rosa's Donald Duck comics are the best! Those who don't know, Donald Duck comics are big in Finland!
Heikko Peikko (meaning Weak Troll) was stop motion animation series in Finland at 70's. Its wonky, basic and charming story of Heikko Peikko's everyday life.
The meme that made me less depressed
@foxing_around had wonderful comic that made me think over my friends over my sad ass.
Squirrels, I like them a lot. They remind me of my grandpa who loved forest and nature.
My sandwich with a face
Monsters petting each others! My friend has a lot of arkham maddness board games that comes with monsters. I like to play with the figurines, they are so lovely monsters!
Concept art of toothless from how to train your dragon. Why toothless couldn't look like this little ugly thing??? I would have loved him from bottom of my ❤
Kingdom of lonely bananas sign was at supermarket. Little imaginative ideas like these are great.
Pasila series is good stuff, it was said to be Finnish South Park.
My photo of snail ❤
WoY faces are glorious
The snow queen movie from 1957 gives me live. Its one of my favourite Soviet Union animation movie.
My photo of my special secret place at summer
I know only these two from Transformers comics and their love is wonderful. Truly I haven't read the comics...I wish I could tho!
Sherlock Holmes books are awesome
New ducktales series had so many characters from the comics I couldn't believe it at first! Finally I had my favourite characters like Fethry on the show!
I love odd looking animals because I am one too
Animal Crossing is a game I thought I would never play. It looked like a baby game when my big bro gave the it to me at the time gamecube was new console. He bought it because it had a memory card and he know nothing about the game. I tried it and never looked back ❤
The ping pong animation is my favourite animation series from Japan. I got the manga even I can't read it since it's straight from Japan. It's more about the lifes of the characters and how they grow as people than the game itself (or at least it feels like it). The story feels real in a way, that the characters are three dimensional and their reactions are natural. Some charachters stop developing as players, some loose interest completely, some work hard to be the best, some forget why they played in the first place and some found new ways to live their lives. The story is good for my soul.
Comic of @catmilks made me realise there are other people like me. The feeling of the comic is relatable and hopeful, things will pass and life goes on + make sure you take care of yourself.
Comics of @ stuffnoonetoldme made me reflect my life and how I see myself.
@diva-humon has good points of life. I realised I have very christian way of thinkin even I am not religious or have ever been part of any religios.
Suomenlinna, I loved it!

When do you usually do most of your writing?
Pet peeves?
What is on your wishlist?
When do you usually do most of your writing?
I wake up very late because I have no self control and a really messed up sleeping schedule, so I do the writing from 1 pm onward, generally speaking. Then again, I have spent more than one day doing nothing but typing away on my keyboard for this account, so... Yeah. I'd like to say I do most of it during the daytime, but it depends: if a thread I like gets a reply at 2 am (which happens a lot because everyone seems to be living in the Americas?) you can bet I'll be typing a reply as soon as I get the notification (though I almost never post them right away, since I'm anxious about spelling, syntax and so on). It might be that I'm new to the scene and that I'm a situation in which I have little else to do, but I get really excited whenever I get a reply or an ask and will jump at the chance to start interacting with new people- which is sadly kind of hard because of how unpopular GX seems to be among the RPC. People have still been very nice to me and have been very open to testing out interactions, which I'm deeply grateful for. I am wagging my nonexistent tail of all of you, constantly. On a separate note, I do the fic writing after midnight. Always. And I hate it.
Pet peeves?
... Oof. Ok. I'll take my chance to say a bunch of things? Don't hate me for it, I don't mind any of these that much.
1) I kind of dislike writing in present tense, mostly because I find it unnatural, but I will when the other person does. I'm the opposite of picky- and it isn't necessarily a good thing.
2) Fancy formatting. It's one thing to use small text, that I don't mind one bit. But when fonts and random highlighted words are involved I get very confused? I know I use italics for emphasis and for things that are meant to be internal monologue that isn't narrated, but rather delivered by the muse himself- maybe that's annoying or distracting to someone? I bet someone out there has looked at a reply of mine and wanted to delete the post in my stead at some point.
3) Heavily edited icons. Again, icons or not, it technically doesn't make much of a difference. I personally have taken a liking to keeping my Manjoume icon folder open on my second screen- plus I'm Italian. Come on. Half my communication skills are non verbal I'm lying I suck at communicating in general. The edited icons, yes- a frame and coloured filter make icons look personal and I appreciate the work put into them, but when I can barely make out the expression I have to wonder what the point is. Aesthetics, I suppose, which is fine, of course.
4) Tumblr themes. Some themes don't allow for reblogs when you open posts on the op's blog. WHY. It's sort of annoying to have to fish for the post in order to reply to it.
5) Endless threads. Very few do this, but I think you should consider that people who are not involved in a given thread will have to scroll through it on their dashes before you reblog a thread without cropping it. That's all. I didn't know how to do it initially, but I asked and I was lucky enough to get an answer from a very kind person.
6) ... Grammar. Typos are fine and dandy. Sometimes they happen and you can't notice them because some words exist and thus are not highlighted by the spellchecker (which is on everyone's chrome, by the way). An example is 'fir' and 'for'. I can assure you there is no red squiggle under 'fir'. It's a tree, apparently. I had no clue. But yes, I am not from an English speaking country, so don't take this as like... a British dude coming up to you and bullying you because your English is bad. No. A misplaced comma is ok, I don't care. It becomes a problem when the sentences are hard to understand. That's it. (Note- if I write something that you think is an incomprehensible mess, tell me and I'll try my best to fix it.)
... I'm done. I am not angry at anyone who does any of these, believe me. Pet peeve number seven is a request. DM me for literally anything. If I do something wrong, tell me. I write a lot of extra tags to convey how I feel about what has been written and maybe it's unnecessary, but I do it so you can always know that I'm actively invested in the interaction. If I don't add tags it's solely because there is nothing to add. But if it's annoying, tell me and I'll stop immediately. That is all.
What is on your wishlist?
... This.
Tumblr media
How very unexpected, I know.
A bunch of other things, too: I have some Jojo prints in my cart on Etsy and I know I'll never get them (sad) and a bunch of videogames on Steam and the Nintendo e-shop (which I'll never buy or play- they look neat though). On Amazon I have the last few volumes of the DM manga and the GX series (Light and Darkness Dragon, my beloved). Also also any charm that has to do with Manjoume. I haven't found any I could buy, but I want 'em all. Literally break into my house if you find one. Ah! And the matching figures of Komaeda and Hinata from Danganronpa 2! (Big Danganronpa fan, bigger Komahina shipper- I've made a fucking animatic and I can't post it because the music is copyrighted ;) ) I also have a bunch of zines I'm waiting for- some I've bought and are about to be sent out and others have only posted interest checks. 2021 was the year in which I discovered that yes, I can commission people and buy zines and it doesn't need to a big event (except I'm not rich and need to be mindful with spending of course). ... I also really want the new Pokemon games. Like right now.
... If it turns out the question wasn't actually about like... material things, but rather what I want to do with my blog and muse in the future... Well, first of all pretend I said nothing. Second, I want to find an art style I can comfortably use to make more frequent illustrations for threads and asks. I was a big fan of ask blogs as a kid (I saw them through crust screenshots and reposts only, I didn't have a tumblr lol) and I always wanted to be that cool artist that makes cool art for a given cool character. Manjoume is the coolest of characters to me, so yeah.

Hello annoying best friend here to fulfill my duty by asking you to answer all of the cute asks
angel; do you have a nickname?
not really. my name is already short and I don't have a prominent quality to nickname me after. The only person who refers to me as anything other than my name is my boyfriend, but I don't think “babe/baby” really counts as a nickname lol
awe; how old are you?
24
baby; favorite color?
dark teal (blue-green? I've never found a good name for my favorite color)
bloop; spirit animal?
so because I didn't have a good answer for this, I decided to google a quiz to find out, lol. My answer was a deer. here's why;
When you have the deer as spirit animal, you are highly sensitive and have a strong intuition. By affinity with this animal, you have the power to deal with challenges with grace. You master the art of being both determined and gentle in your approach.
The deer totem wisdom imparts those with a special connection with this animal with the ability to be vigilant, move quickly, and trust their instincts to get out the trickiest situations
blossom; favorite book/movie/song?
i don't really have a favorite book, i don't read much outside of school (I wish i did)
movie: A Beautiful Mind
song: oh dear lord i cannot pick just one, but all-time favorite band of mine is Shinedown
blush; what was your stuffed animal as a child?
a little stuffed dog that looked like Kipper from the TV show, I still have him :)
breeze; most precious childhood memory?
lmao what came to mind was when i pledged to never drink, smoke, or say bad words. two out of fucking three ain't bad i guess.
bright; mermaids or fairies?
(honestly neither but) fairies
bubbles; do you have a best friend?
given the asker, i would say yes :) also i am lame and my boyfriend is also my best friend
buttercup; showers or baths?
S H O W E R S. hate baths!
butterfly; dream destination?
I've never had a huge desire to travel honestly. like sure i could say Italy or Greece look beautiful, but the actual act of traveling overseas really stresses me out lol. so i would have to say more like upper midwest, like Maine, in the fall time for all the pretty trees.
buttons; are you religious or spiritual?
i am neither
calm; favorite scent?
anything fruity - pineapple, mango, berries, apples. at least in terms of what candles i like lol.
candlelight; what did you dream about last night?
i do not remember anything from last night - the last dream i remember involved my boyfriend, dad and i being lost up north lol
charming; have you ever been in love?
currently
cozy; eye/hair color?
hazel / brunette
cuddly; what’s your favorite time period?
the 1970′s for the fashion
cupcake; favorite flower/plant?
love me a good succulent
cute; what did you get on your last birthday?
well this last birthday was amidst quarantine, so I got some candles and granola (my boyfriend knows me well lol)
cutie pie; most precious item you own?
i have no idea? what an odd question? probably some stuffed animal?
cutsie; what makes you happy?
picnics, alone time, my boyfriend, my cat choosing to cuddle with me.
daisies; describe a moment when you felt free.
I really cant think of a time I've ever felt truly free. maybe when i drove myself to school earlier this year & didn't have to wait for someone to pick me up?
daydream; how do you want to be remembered?
as a light in others lives. happy, bubbly. things i currently am not
daylight; favorite album of all time?
gosh these dang music questions. well, Nickelback - All the Right Reasons was the first album i ever bought myself. then maybe Shinedown - The Sound of Madness (i cant pick one OKAY)
dear; zodiac sign?
Taurus
delightful; concerts or museums?
concerts
dimples; have you ever written a letter?
yes? this question makes me feel old, lol.
dobby; dream job?
criminologist. some way to be reducing the mass incarceration rate in the US.
doll; how do you like to dress?
comfy, v necks and leggings. As i have gotten older i have slowly wanted to be more feminine i think, because i really want some sundresses for summer lol
dovey; any paranormal/magical experiences?
one! when i was 12ish, i swear i saw a reflection of a uniformed man (like old school soldier uniform - blue blazer with gold cufflinks) behind me in the glass of my snakes tank at the time. it was weird because the only reason i even looked that way was because my snake started shaking his tail against the glass, something that corn snakes do when they are scared, but also something that in his entire life had never done unprompted ever.
dreams; do you want or have any tattoos?
want yes, have no
drizzle; do you believe in aliens?
100%. no way we are alone in this universe
euphoric; talk about someone you love.
he makes my days so much better :)

garden; how many languages do you know?
one :(
gem; who are your favorite tumblrs?
@cy-ne-fin
giggles; what is your aesthetic of choice?
sepia photography/old books that have yellowed into sepia. or fresh greenery on white marble.
glittery; do you like anons? why/why not?
i don't really get any anymore, but as long as they are nice or just questions/venting, im down. don't be offended if i never answer though, for some reason i never get Tumblr notifications lol
glow; list the top 5 things you like about yourself
im compassionate
im empathetic (which is similar but im struggling to get to 5 lol)
im goal-oriented
im determined (once i have said goal. again, related lol)
i guess i like my lips/lip shape
heart; silk or lace?
lace
honey; coffee or tea? how do you take it?
tea. iced, black or green really, with sugar.
hugsy; do you enjoy people watching or bird watching more? why?
bird watching because it means i am probably alone and in nature as opposed to somewhere in a crowd of people. and i wont feel creepy for watching the birds lol
hunnybunch; what sounds help you sleep?
white noise, a fan running. if that's not enough, i enjoy asmr. if i am really struggling/having anxiety, i will look up sleep stories from the headspace app on youtube (life hack to not have to pay for the app lol)
jewel; what’s your favorite kind of weather?
to be outside, i enjoy just warm enough to be comfy in pants and a t-shirt (so like 65F-ish) and sunny. To be inside, i love when it is cooler (like 50F?) and raining. I love the look, sound, and smell of rain but it is usually just inconvenient to be in.
jiggly; what do you usually like to do on weekends?
well now all days are the same for me, #quarantine, so the same thing i do every day, just about nothing, lol
joy; do you laugh loudly or giggle more?
i guess laugh loudly because i am a loud person in general. i have a deep voice
kinky; do you blush easily?
i don't think so, my embarrassment turns into sweat, not blush, lmao
kisses; what romantic cliché do you wish for most?
i guess being proposed to someday? but i don't have a certain dream way of it happening, just the fact that its happening is enough for me lol. id enjoy if someone (cough Elle or also maybe Michael lol) were secretly filming and/or taking photos of it? I am not sure how you'd manage that though
kitty; what’s your favorite time of the day?
late at night when everything is quiet
ladybug; what’s your favorite artist to listen to when you’re sad?
old school three days grace (one-x album in particular)
love; what is your favorite season and why?
i always gravitate to fall for the leaves and pumpkin patches. but honestly, i think my favorite season is spring. i love the newly budding trees and flowers, the feeling of renewal, the release from the horrible Michigan winter lol, but most importantly, spring time for my whole life as of yet has always meant that school is over for the semester! as opposed to the fall when the semester starts. this is very long winded but spring final answer lol
lovey; what is your favorite flavor of macaron and ice cream?
I've never had a macaron and blue moon ice cream
magic; what are five flaws you have?
ooooo boy
im short tempered/angry too much
im unmotivated (which is confusing maybe because i said i am determined earlier. you see, once i HAVE a goal i feel determined to finish it. but i am unmotivated to create said goals, lol)
im nonconfrontational to a fault where i always put others’ feelings before my own
i let fear of change stop me from ever taking risks/ am anxious
i am stubborn and sometimes have a hard time admitting i am wrong
moonlight; do you prefer soft pastels, warm neutrals, or cool darks?
this depends - screw pastels. warm neutrals for makeup purposes, but cool darks for aesthetic or decor purposes
munchkin; what do you look for in your significant other?

I went to Dutch Comic Con once again. On Saturday I went as Ladybug from Miraculous Ladybug, but as I spotted an Angewomon who told me she’d be there the next day too, I went as Mimi from Digimon on Sunday.
Besides, the whole point of not having blue hair anymore was so that I can wear both cosplay whenever I want.
Day one!
Downside of this year is that I did not have my annual friend with me - I always visit Dutch Comic Con (March edition) with one friend in particular. This meant that Saturday I was by myself. The plus side was that I could do everything at my pace(!), but the problem with being by myself was everything else. I took only one photo with another cosplay and that was when a friend of mine tagged along for a little while.
Tumblr media
It’s me with a bunch of androids from Detroit: Become Human, heh. I was holding my bag and everything, so it was awkward too!
I saw many more androids who looked amazing, but I lost my friend and therefore could not take any other photos. There was one Connor & Hank in particular that I was very fond of, and I made sure Hank knew how much I appreciated the dedication to the beard they applied to their face. I was really amazed by it as beards are hard to achieve.
I also saw an amazing Sylvanas (World of Warcraft) cosplay, when I saw her I actually said “wow” (or more specifically “wauw”) out loud and I told her she looked good or something like that. She really did. On Sunday I also saw a blood elf character, but I am not familiar with all NPC’s, so...
As I said before, I also saw Angewomon and I really wanted to take a photo with her. She seemed in a rush though, told her I will go as Mimi tomorrow as she said she’ll be there tomorrow again and therefore left it as it is.
I also visited two Q&As that day. Felt nice to visit Q&As without having to make friends wander alone.
Tumblr media
The first one right at 12:00 was Katherine McNamara, she is known as the main character Clary from Shadowhunters, a show that is a bit of a guilty pleasure. I loved her excitement and her love for the franchise and other characters, and she had to keep herself from telling any spoilers, but she is really excited for the first upcoming episode.
Tumblr media
The second Q&A at 16:00 was Jennifer Morrison, known as the main character Emma Swan from Once Upon A Time. I know she has a role in Arrow too, but I don’t watch it. Because of Katherine’s excitement during her Q&A, Jennifer really made a huge contrast in that regard. Not that she wasn’t happy, it was just different. I slightly feel bad about all the Once-related questions because you could kinda tell she’s done, and she deflected a Swan Queen question by just answering she is an actress portraying a character who is written the way they are, so I liked that; no fuss about shipping. Shipping is what made the Once fandom so destructive, after all. She solved it very well, probably put a lot of thought into it.
Other than that I bought a bunch of merchandise. I actually only bought stuff from the artist alley; none of the official merch pulled me in. The artist alley is great, because it has such a variety in fandoms. My only issue is that I am limited to buttons, stickers and charms, because I would not know what to do with prints.
Tumblr media
Two random animal stickers of a cat and a bat because the artist was kind and it looked cool. The bottom two are magnets from the video game Journey, and few of my friends know I’ve been very involved with a Journey community lately.
Tumblr media
Three buttons of Connor from Detroit: Become Human. I am actually really sad that no one sold Kara or Markus because I love all three main characters nearly equally. Some did sell Hank and Sumo, but yeah... would’ve loved some Kara and Markus. That is why I was glad I saw some Kara cosplay around, compared to Connor the other two appear so underappreciated when they are all such lovely characters. I love Connor most too, but the difference for me is rather minor.
Tumblr media
And a bunch of stickers! Illidan Stormrage from World of Warcraft (he looks so adorable and the vendor was so nice), Spider-man in his homemade suit, and a sticker set from Miraculous Ladybug.
I kinda wish I did not have to say that this sums up Saturday already, but here we are.
I found a couple of artists I want to commission from, but many are way above my budget. Complicated. I also took 1,5 hours to hunt Pokemon in Pokemon GO because there was a special day going on and inside the building the GPS was crazy, but because I could visit at my own pace, I made sure I saw all the shops already. I get really nasty about not having seen everything, my brains just can’t comprehend the idea of not seeing everything (or at least having tried).
Either way!
Day two!
On Sunday my bestie tagged along, but ironically now I didn’t really find any cosplay I wanted to take a photo with, hah. The entire day we visited I tried to find Angewomon, and by the time we were close to leaving (last hour at the con), we found her in line for food!!!
Tumblr media
I found her Instagram so you can see her with her wings on, but yeah, she didn’t have them today (heavy). It’s the same as how I did not bring Palmon. We weren’t allowed any bags bigger than 12 x 18 cm OR they had to be transparent, so I had nothing to carry Palmon in (it’s for safety reasons due to recent shooting in the same city). Either way, I was so happy to have found her! We shared the mutual feeling of never seeing other Digimon cosplay, so we were both just really happy. Another stranger saw us together and wanted to take a photo as he’d never expect to see two Digimon cosplay together, and guess what, neither did we!
So she was easily the highlight of my day, haha! I saw she also did Garurumon on her page, which is really cool too!
I do want to say that I was pleasantly surprised with seeing The Umbrella Academy cosplay around as well by the way, even if it was 90% Klaus and 10% Five. Considering the show being new I thought it was amazing and for some reason it never occurred to me I could see cosplay from that show until I saw them. The Five cosplayers that were around were actually rather young-looking and short, so that was fantastic, and the Five who was together with towel-Klaus were very in-character together as Klaus was teasing them and Five wasn’t having it. I loved it.
Because I did not find any new merch I wanted to get, I ended up buying mysterious Japanese snacks. I meant to buy one box of panda cookies and one box of regular cookies, but the vendor talked me into this.
Tumblr media
The cookies were alright, not too amazing, but I loved the panda cookies too much to even share sorry bestie. All of these are gone already, by the way. I uh... liked my pricey Japanese mystery food. Much better than mochi (yikes) or pocky (meh), but those are opinions!
I think that sums it up. I hope I get the photo Angewomon took of us on her phone, because that was a selfie.
It was a successful weekend regardless.
The photo of Angewomon and I has surfaced!

Alrighty, here’s what I got at AX this year.
I finally finished transferring the files at last, even though I was largely distracted.
Lines were much easier this year.  There were 12 badge pickup lines and toldentops was mailed his badge ahead of time.  Also, getting in after getting the badge only took me about 20 minutes compared to about two and a half hours last year and standing in blistering heat from 10am to 3pm in 2016.  I was also really early, me and my sister arrived at 8:40 and I actually waited to get into Artist Alley, which opens at 10.
So at Artist Alley:
Tumblr media
I commissioned this drawing of Riesz, Kevin, and Charlotte from Seiken Densetsu 3 to @say0ran-arts!  Thank you for drawing these characters for me and you nailed their designs!  They were my main cast for my playthrough!  It’s so beautiful and I love it so much!
Tumblr media
Smash Bros print by Miho Studios.
Tumblr media
Kirby print by @cath-biscuits
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Final Fantasy VI and Chrono Trigger prints by @kamallie.  The Chrono Trigger one was suprisingly the only Chrono Trigger related thing I saw.
Tumblr media
Pokemon print by @gabbiegallery.
Tumblr media
Ness sticker by ???.
The Kirby and Final Fantasy pins by ???.
Terra charm from anewworldxtine.  I totally lucked out.  It was out of a gacha machine, and I had like a 2 in 10 chance of getting her.  I got the “your choice” capsule on my first try.
After Artist Alley: Exhibit Hall:
I bumped into @toldentops again!  Talked about my recent vacation to Spain and Seiken Densetsu and gaming in general.  I also bought a Moogle Keychain for $15 (Golly, I’m buying a lot of Final Fantasy stuff this year geez) and found an Audino plush for only $10.  I later spilled some chocolate ice cream on the moogle.
Tumblr media
I also bought a Pokemon grab box and this is what was in it:
Tumblr media
A Pikachu mug and the third Pokemon mug I have.
A Mega Lucario cup that seems to be of pretty good quality.
A bootleg Pokeball stress toy
Pikachu-related Jewelry
Pokemon erasers
And an Ash cap I’m pretty sure I already have
I opened it with @time-gears and toldentops. Hoping for a plushie and it definitely wasn’t worth the $42 I spent on it.  I’m definitely not buying another one next year.
Honestly that’s not the worst thing about today.  The worst thing about the con was seeing someone with “tr*ps r gay” on a paper visor in which I blurted “No they’re not.  And they’re transphobic” and I just wanted to punch them all day.
I also hoped to find a Rabite plush merch but I didn’t find any unfortunately.
But I did go to the marker place that toldentops showed me last year and drew one myself:
Tumblr media
I really like it!
I spent $185 on merch and art, $25 on parking, $15 on food, and $75 on the ticket for a total of $300 on AX today.  I have no regerts.

My vacation, Part 2: Colossalcon!
This is for everyone who keeps asking me how my time going home/at the convention was. Actually, I’m not very good with talking about my emotional reactions and things on the spot… I’m a writer. I do much better writing it out. So that’s what I’m doing now! If you’re one of those people who wanted to know, or are just curious, feel free to look under the cut!
Below is my experience at the convention! It’s long and will have photos, so check it out!
Wednesday
So I got to Kalahari around 5 and parked my car. It was still pretty early, so there was plenty of parking around. I went to check in, only to learn that my room was fairly close to where I parked my car! SCORE!
I then spent some time making trips to the room with my stuff... I brought a bunch of food, since I knew con food is really expensive, and the room itself was a lot... and I had a VIP pass, so this con was costly enough already. Heh... Luckily though, I got all of my stuff in just before the rain showed up!
My friend I was sharing the room with wasn’t going to arrive until Thursday afternoon, so I had this night to myself. I went and registered for the con and got my pass, then I proceeded to walk around... get the layout of the land, as it where. Alas, my phone was pretty full, so I didn’t take lots of pictures of everything I saw... In fact, I only took a few the whole weekend. But a lot of people took photos, so check out the colossalcon tag if you want an idea of what I saw!  I wandered around for a while before heading back to the room and deciding to spend the night chilling... I took a nice bath in the giant tub, then spent the evening making a semi-update for Crimson Wings. That mutant class update? Yeah, I made it during this down time. Eventually I went to bed, knowing I’d have a long day following.
Thursday
The con officially began! I took my time waking up in the morning, and decided to explore for a while, waiting for my friend to arrive. I didn’t wear any cosplay that morning, wanting to save it for when she got there, and wanting to look at everything for a while as myself before I changed...
So I went! Not knowing what to do other then look around, I guessed. But luckily, I came across the usual “I need friends” signs that happen at cons. So, seeing as I was alone, I decided, “why not?” I approached, and made some new friends and we all hugged sexy Jesus (yes you just read that). You may have figured out by now that I don’t really like using people’s names on the Internet so... I’ll just say that the two girls had the same name and the guy’s name was my middle name! There, now some of you may know one of their names...
Tumblr media
We hung out for a while and met up several times throughout the con! I’m very socially awkward at making friends, so I’m kind of proud that I managed it... But two of them were dressed as two of my favorite twins when I first saw them, so that helped! We went to the game room and played things for a while, mostly team music games. One of them was like a master at them, but we did pretty good as a team!
Tumblr media
Eventually went to the craft fair and saw all the cool stuff people had made and were selling. Eventually my friend arrived and we had to split up, but like I said, I kept in contact with these guys after!
So I met up with my friend, the one who basically functions as my editor for my writing... Did you know my writing has an editor? Well, now you do. I helped get her stuff to the room, and while she got settled, I changed into my Edward Elric cosplay. I don’t have any pictures of this cosplay, but a bunch of people took photos of me, so if one turns up, I’ll put it here!  We wandered about and I showed her around. And we finally started buying stuff. I got an Non-binary and an Ace-ace patch. I don’t know what I’m going to put them on, but I liked them! I also got one of those ironed-bead sprite Mad Dummy and a small fox pattern pouch... But then of course I finally found the plushies in the dealer room. And there... was a chubby lucario. I made him mine. ...Well, he was always mine, wasn’t he?! He’s actually under my arm right now as I type this! He’s some comfy! Oh, I can take a photo of him right now, can’t I?
Tumblr media
Here he is! My fat boi! So chubby and cute, I love him!
Eventually my friend and I made it back to our room and chilled for the rest of the evening, eating snacks and reading webcomics. I’m pretty good and getting my friends into more webcomics, I think... I had her catch up on a pretty long one that night while we listened to the sounds of party around us.
Friday
Friday, oh boy what I day. It was certainly fun and interesting! So, I (and my grandma, she did the sewing part) worked very hard on a cosplay of RGB from The Property of Hate by @modmad.
Tumblr media
I think it turned out very well, and you can see more pictures in my post here. But, being summer and all, it was very hot and the head was pretty much and oven. I could only wear it for bursts of 20 minutes to half an hour at a time before I’d need to go back to the room and rest. I still think it looked cool though, and some people recognized who I was so mission accomplished I guess! But also... @modmad, is his vision really as limited from that screen as I could see? Because there is no peripheral vision at all, someone get him a seeing-eye hero!
I wandered about the convention a lot that day sans the head so that I could... be alive, haha. But I bought myself some manga and ordered a commission that I will probably fill you all in more on later once it is made! ;3 (It’s Crimson Wings related.) It’s by the same artist I bought some buttons from a few years back... And I bought more buttons, of course! I needed my snoot-snoot seal!
In the evening, I had my VIP autograph session... I had brought something for most of them (at least the ones I had stuff for, unfortunately I didn’t own anything to bring for the two ladies :C). I knew I was going to be meeting Steve Blum, so I switched into my Terriermon outfit I had made with my grandma. At the session, I met up with the trio of friends from the other day (I had met up with them earlier that day too, but only for a few minutes). We talking in the lines and such while we waited! I got to meet a few awesome people, including Chris Patton, who I caved and bought a Greed poster to have him sign... I love Greed, you guys... I also met Vic Mignogna and had him sign my FMA Brotherhood DVD set, and met Steve Blum and had him sign my Digimon Tamers DVD (he also kept talking in Guilmon’s voice and I was losing it.) My friends also had Vic do the coffee scene from Ouran which you can see on one of their instagrams here! I also got photos with Vic and Steve because I am weak.
Tumblr media
Awesomeness.
Then later that night my editor friend and I went to the Kalahari pool for the after hours time we had! We went nearing midnight, and did stuff like the wave pool, the hot tub, and the lazy river for a while. We were about to leave when I ran into the friend trio again, so we went back into the wave pool for a while before finally heading back to the room. It was like 3 in the morning and I had an early Nintendo photoshoot I wanted to get to!
Saturday
Saturday I cosplayed as Pit the whole day. Nintendo had an early photoshoot that day (well, early considering how late we were up that night and how it’d take a while to get dressed. We’re still waiting for all the photos to come out from it, but it’s page is here. And one photo is out at least with me and the other awesome Pit in it!
Tumblr media
It was a lot of fun, and all the smash brothers poses and things were a blast and I hope more photos show up soon! Like we beat up Sandbag and there was the smash ball and-... lots of playing around, I hope they turn up. Unfortunately the Zelda shoot was at the same time, so no Zelda or Link for us... what’s up with that?
Anyway, after that my friend and I hung out in the room for a while, needing to relax after being up so early... I showed her some youtube videos and made her laugh so hard she fell off the bed. Good times! Then we headed back to the con and did more shopping around, smaller things like charms and stickers now, and went to some panels. I said good bye to my new trio of friends who were leaving that afternoon, and hopefully they are doing well!
By the evening I had to go to the room a while because I wasn’t feeling great... I actually bought some actual food at the con because the food we had was basically running out and I needed something to settle my stomach. But when we grabbed food we headed to the Masquerade (The skit / cosplay contest) and watched that! I still chuckle that Tony Stark was the host. It was a lot of fun, and the skits were fun, including some really good singers and a Nurse Joy who wanted to become a trainer (that one had some very clever props, just saying). And those cosplays were amazing. Much appreciation. The halftime show was hilarious, our side’s champion two girls beating the other side’s two men at a blind-folded donut eating contest-... It’s a long story, and this is long enough as it is, haha.
After it was over, my friend and I headed back to the room and ended the night watching some youtube.
Sunday
Alas, the con was basically over. I wore my Terriermon cosplay that day since it’s the simplest and isn’t hot. We had to check out by ten, and my friend had to leave at ten, so we basically got up in the morning, packed my car, and parted ways as she was picked up. I stayed a little longer to check out the flee market. I found some good stuff and spend more money (of course! More pokemon plush for me! ...And some really old digimon toys. Nice.) Once I felt I had checked everything out and had basically spent the last of the cash I had brought with me, I headed back out to my car to start my drive to my parent’s house...   I arrived, and then had dinner with my family, including my aunt and uncle at a restaurant, then turned in for the night, having to catch an early flight back down here in the morning...
AND that was the con, everyone! It was a lot of fun and I tried to sort out as much as I could here! I hope that helped answer the basic question of how it was! If you have any more specific questions, feel free to ask!

Possibly the best year in gaming
This is only going to be a short post.  This year has been undoubtedly incredibly for gaming on all fronts. A nigh on constant stream of fantastic games across all formats and pretty much all genres.
I could go through game by game but that would make this a much longer post so I am just going to sum it up month by month.
January
January had the release of the reinvention of an old survival horror franchise and everyone loved it. Resident Evil 7 sets a new precedent for the series and was also a prime example of what VR could be. We also had Tales of Berseria which is easily one of the best in the series in a long time as well as Yakuza 0 which has had people losing their minds for pretty much the entire year.
February
Fire Emblem Heroes came out at the beginning of the month and brought a fantastic series to a brand new audience, while somewhat simplistic it certainly had some of the charm of the series embedded into it and many are still playing it now. We also had Nioh, and while I didn’t get on with it the game received fairly widespread praise. For Honor came out and has been doing fairly well since, the people who love it love it and by all accounts it is a fun game. We also had Hollow Knight which is a fantastic Metroidvania game, it is fairly difficult so is a great one to jump into for fans of a challenge. Horizon Zero Dawn came out at the end of the month and was just mind blowing, go play it. Torment: Tides of Numenera was released too and is still on my to play list because it apparently tells one of the best stories of the year.
March
The release of the fantastic Switch brought with it one of the best games I have ever played in Zelda: Breath of the Wild, the game brought back all the memories of previous games in the series but made them reality by giving the players a stunning world to explore and the tools needed to do so straight away. We also had Nier: Automata which seems to have more and more people raving about it as the year goes on. Definitely another one on my to play list.
April
Persona 5 dropped here and is a must play for any fan of RPGs. It takes the JRPG formula to some of it’s highest heights and was artistically one of my favourite looking games of the year, even the menus were easy on the eyes. What Remains of Edith Finch also came out in April and this list is making me realise how many games I have yet to play this year.
May
May saw the release of Prey, Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia, Shadow Warrior 2 (lots of stupid fun if you can get some mates together) and just a whole bunch of Switch releases like Minecraft and Disgaea 5. Injustice 2 also came out and has been getting some awesome new characters throughout the year.
June
June was good for fighters too seeing Tekken 7 released early in the month.  The Wipeout Omega Collection came out and really makes me want a brand new Wipeout game. Arms was released on the Switch and is generally a lot of fun, especially in local multiplayer mode. Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy also saw the light of day and got a great reception, hopefully we can get a new Crash Team Racing too.
July
The End Is Nigh is a fantastic platformer, it isn’t easy but then a lot of the great games aren’t. We also got Splatoon 2 which has continued getting support since and has had some great splatfests too. My standout game of the month wad Pyre though, a strange combination of basketball and challenging choices, the game was another great showing by SuperGiant and the music by Darren Korb is as glorious as always,
August
Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice is haunting and at times unpleasant game to play, it stares into some incredibly dark things and does so wonderfully. The motion capture was fantastic and the people at Ninja Theory did a great job on this unique game. Nidhogg 2 came out, go get some people to play with and have fun. Undertale was released and is many people’s game of the year as it does such a great job of twisting so many tropes. Continuing Nintendo’s one big game a month streak we got Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle, which is a very strange mix of Xcom, annoying creatures and Mario that just works. Absolver was released at the end of the month as well and is one of the best martial arts games I have ever played, it wasn’t perfect but it captured one of my favourite hobbies in a way no other game ever has and is well worth a look.
September
Destiny 2 was released, a fun game with a fair share of issues, it is great for those looking for a long term project and probably a lot better for newcomers to the series. Divinity: Original Sin 2 was released, I literally bought the pieces for a gaming PC because I needed to play this, it is a nigh on perfect game and is one of the best sandboxes of the year. SteamWorld Dig 2 was released and was perfect on the Switch, it is an overwhelmingly great upgrade on an already fantastic game. We also got Doki Doki Literature Club, which is a must play and is free, go get on it.  The SNES Classic edition came out too, I love the nostalgic bursts that Nintendo put out and hope we get an N64 one soon.
October
Middle-Earth: Shadow of War was released to a mixed reception but is still a fun game to play. The Evil Within was another great horror title to come out this year and does a great job of messing with it’s players. We also got South Park: The Fractured but Whole which is a fun RPG for those who enjoy the South Park humour. The we had Assassin’s Creed Origins, Wolfenstein 2: The New Colossus and Super Mario Odyssey all release on the same day, all incredible and in different genres. Seriously, an incredible month.
November
Call of Duty: WW2 came out to the usual fanfare. Pokemon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon were released which for me just served to make me want a Switch Pokemon game even more. Star Wars Battlefront 2 came out, I know people have enjoyed it and maybe the loot box nonsense was just marketing?
December
Xenoblade Chronicles 2 came out to bring strange voice acting to everyone around and a giant length RPG to the Switch. Romancing SaGa 2 was rereleased making it easily playable for the first time in a very long time, as was Okami HD.
2017
Not quite as short as I was going for, what a year though. I still have a far few of these to try and get through. The must plays I would recommend are Persona 5, Zelda, Divinty 2, Pyre and Doki Doki. All bring something different and all are worthy of your time and money.
I guess now we just hope next year is a littl quieter so we can catch up.
Happy New Year

2 weeks ago, my dear friend Kiwi say to me: OMG JEEZ YOU HAVE 38 HOURS TO MAKE A ORANGE CHARM DESIGN FOR 50% AAHGGNSDKR”.
I never did a charm before so I spend my week-end making this orange -whole new spooky- pokemon. It was very fun. (fun fact: I just bought a charm of this pokemon to an amazing friend artist some weeks ago : check her shop it’s so cool : http://pinkgermy.storenvy.com/ )
AAAND. It was 38 days by the way... But now I know I’m capable of doing a charm in 24 hours- And yeah, I’ll sell them one day ! I need to decorate them first then... open a shop I guess and... I dunno. WELL, BYE.

Get to know me part 2
1: when you have cereal, do you have more milk than cereal or more cereal than milk?
More milk, I like to drink it after.
2: do you like the feeling of cold air on your cheeks on a wintery day?
Yes, I do.
3: what random objects do you use to bookmark your books?
Mostly postcards, receipts, toilet paper…
4: how do you take your coffee/tea?
Black/ unsweetened or REALLY REALLY sweet with lots of milk, there is no in between.
5: are you self-conscious of your smile?
No! I have great teeth and I like my lips
6: do you keep plants?
I keep a cat. Ha. Ha. No seriously I keep herbs and I like sunflowers and yellow or pink roses, sometimes a cactus will survive.
7: do you name your plants?
No, they won’t live long enough.
8: what artistic medium do you use to express your feelings?
I sing a lot, I scribble, sometimes I’ll write but I’ll mostly blog about my feelings.
9: do you like singing/humming to yourself?
I sing like all the time. Music is my favourite thing in the world and I would die for real singing lessons, to improve my voice.
10: do you sleep on your back, side, or stomach?
All above :) mostly on my side. Hey girlfriend, how do I sleep?
11: what’s an inner joke you have with your friends?
Some ridiculous mean names mostly, the plantkin or “remembers me of my first time”
12: what’s your favorite planet?
It’s Jupiter! Such an interesting planet and I really like the mythical side too.
13: what’s something that made you smile today?
Skyping with my girlfriend (aww It’s so cheesy, it’s terrible. I love it)
14: if you were to live with your best friend in an old flat in a big city, what would it look like?
I like cosy rooms, lots of wood and knick knacks, books, pillows, big colourful windows and a really nice kitchen with fresh herbs!
15: go google a weird space fact and tell us what it is!
If it was 80 times more massive, Jupiter would have become a star instead of a planet.
16: what’s your favorite pasta dish?
I really like everything with mushrooms, spinach and broccoli, but the best Pasta dish I ate was a vegan Putanesca one in Amsterdam, maybe because I was high, but that’s not important here.
17: what color do you really want to dye your hair?
I like my ginger hair as it is, but I would choose pastel colours.
18: tell us about something dumb/funny you did that has since gone down in history between you and your friends and is always brought up.
There is really too much to tell. Maybe the shopping card race with Chris or the burnt kitchen? But something I did? I nearly killed Felix and myself accidentally but playing cards in an epic traffic was more fun.
19: do you keep a journal? what do you write/draw/ in it?
I have roughly 400 sketchbooks and notebooks. I don’t use them daily, but I love to write or draw things down.
20: what’s your favorite eye color?
Green or darker colours.
21: talk about your favorite bag, the one that’s been to hell and back with you and that you love to pieces.
I do love my current backpack! It slowly falls apart but I love it. I patched it by myself.
22: are you a morning person?
I can hear you snorting girlfriend. But no, I am not.
23: what’s your favorite thing to do on lazy days where you have 0 obligations?
I don’t like to do nothing when I’m by myself. If I had my lovelies with me, I would stay in bed and maybe read out loud, but while I’m alone, I like to wander around and play Pokemon… Or I’ll bingwatch some stuff.
24: is there someone out there you would trust with every single one of your secrets?
Yes I’m lucky enough to have someone, well there are about 3 people who truly know me, but I’m not sure if a single person knows everything about me.
25: what’s the weirdest place you’ve ever broken into?
A fury convention in Magdeburg, it was surreal.
26: what are the shoes you’ve had for forever and wear with every single outfit?
My black platform boots I LOVE them to pieces.
27: what’s your favorite bubblegum flavor?
Spearmint or apples
28: sunrise or sunset?
I see the sunset way more often than the rise, it’s both pretty but the morning is more beautiful. (If I’m still awake of course)
29: what’s something really cute that one of your friends does and is totally endearing?
Sometimes my friends surprise me with really nice things they say about me.
For example, Felix told me once I’m so curious about life, It’s inspirational and I still think about this. Otherwise, Jessi gives the best hugs, it’s cute. Oh and my gf has this adorable look on her face when she is confused ;)
30: think of it: have you ever been truly scared?
Yes, I have a deep fear of dying and I’m terrible scared of maggots.
31: what is your opinion of socks? do you like wearing weird socks? do you sleep with socks? do you confine yourself to white sock hell? really, just talk about socks.
Okay take a seat, this will take a while.
Socks tell a lot about your personality, are you playful? Are you all business? I personally love weird socks. I’ve got some with hotdogs on them and I’m a vegetarian. My most favourite ones are spooky socks I bought Halloween, or the Ravenclaw ones. I hate to wear mismatched socks and I can’t even tell you why. Even when they are all black, to KNOW that they have a different high drives me nuts. And I loathe to wear socks in bed! I cannot sleep with them and I HATE them in combination with sex. BUT! That’s not fully true. Kneehigh socks or stockings are a huge turn on, while wearing them or on others. I have this weird clothing kink, but that’s a different story. Normal socks are fine as they are, white ones are boring and I find it very relaxing to sort them after washing them. So, that’s a lot on socks.
32: tell us a story of something that happened to you after 3AM when you were with friends.
Well. Only 4am knows all my secrets but 3am sees me in weird states of really deep conversations on a kitchen counter or stargazing in a shopping cart.
33: what’s your fave pastry?
I could die for lemon rolls or everything with apples in it.
34: tell us about the stuffed animal you kept as a kid. what is it called? what does it look like? do you still keep it?
My oldest one is a cat named Leodor. He is white with black patches and maybe he is a leopard. My most favourite one is a big cream coloured teddy bear my Grandpa gave me. Her name is Rosi and of course I still have both. I have a lot of stuffed animals and I still remember every name.
35: do you like stationary and pretty pens and so on? do you use them often?
I have a really nice pen but I don’t write with it too often. I can’t tell you why, I really don’t know. I also have a bad handwriting.
36: which band’s sound would fit your mood right now?
Subway to Sally – Seemanslied or ASP& Chamber – Ride on. Maybe even When the day met the night from Panic! At the Disco because I thought a lot about the moon tonight.
37: do you like keeping your room messy or clean?
My bedroom seems to be always messy, the rest is okay. Not sterile but I do my best.
38: tell us about your pet peeves!
It drives me nuts when the hem of a shirt is turned inside out and I really hate rude people.
39: what color do you wear the most?
Black and green
40: think of a piece of jewelry you own: what’s it’s story? does it have any meaning to you?
Oh that’s easy, I would say my Triskele! I wear it on a chain since 2014 and I only put it off when I shower, because it’s iron and I want to avoid rust. It’s kind of my lucky charm.
41: what’s the last book you remember really, really loving?
The last one I read not so much but I greatly enjoyed Hermann Hesses – der Steppenwolf.
42: do you have a favorite coffee shop? describe it!
I had one! And I’m in a dire need for a new one! I want to become a regular in a coffee shop again.

Yes, I do! I have fantastic instincts.
46: tell us the worst pun you can think of.

The desire for power and pineapples on pizza.
48: what was your biggest fear as a kid? is it the same today?
The fear of dying. It’s still the same. And the fear of being alone, this is different now.

Well for today it’s still the Seemanslied and it’s about my feelings for my girlfriend (It’s about longing and finding home)
52: what are your favorite memes of the year so far?
I FUCKING LOVE MEMES! The best meme 2017 was the one with the guy and the two girls. ( He looks after her and she looks offended, I saw really funny things about this)
53: have you ever watched the rocky horror picture show? heathers? beetlejuice? pulp fiction? what do you think of them?
Yes – love it,

54: who’s the last person you saw with a true look of sadness on their face?
It was my mum, for reasons.
55: what’s the most dramatic thing you’ve ever done to prove a point?
Oh I don’t know. Am I a dramatic person? Yes of course but do I have to prove my points? Well, who knows.
56: what are some things you find endearing in people?
Smiles, serious wonder for the world and kindness in general.
57: go listen to bohemian rhapsody. how did it make you feel? did you dramatically reenact the lyrics?
You never saw me ROCKING THIS SONG. Haha. You will someday, be very afraid.
58: who’s the wine mom and who’s the vodka aunt in your group of friends? why?
Sometimes I’m both, but no seriously I’m totally the momfriend but more with vodka than wine.
59: what’s your favorite myth?
Ginger will turn into vampires after they die (Thanks Greece)
60: do you like poetry? what are some of your faves?
Yes I do! The life that I have is my current favourite.
61: what’s the stupidest gift you’ve ever given? the stupidest one you’ve ever received?
I don’t give stupid gifts :P And the most strange but cool one I received was a rainbow projector!
62: do you drink juice in the morning? which kind?
Nope, only coffee. Black. But I do love orange and apple juice.

67: how do gloomy days where the sky is dark and the world is misty make you feel?
At ease. I really enjoy the silent days.

I like to write everything down but I have a sharp memory.
73: what are some of your worst habits?
Overthinking, eating with my fingers, I never vacuum
74: describe a good friend of yours without using their name or gendered pronouns.
Smart, an honest to God asshole but I learned so much from them. We are like siblings and I’m very proud of their changing
75: tell us about your pets!
This is my cat Momo. He has black fur, is way too smart and a giant asshole. I love him to pieces but I do want to strangle him. He is very cuddly, like all the time. Yes, even when you try to sleep.
76: is there anything you should be doing right now but aren’t?
Sleeping, I guess.
77: pink or yellow lemonade?
I really don’t care. Pink if it’s more bitter.

I used to like them a lot but it’s just too much. I still adore despicable me 1!
79: what’s one of the cutest things someone has ever done for you?
Fighting for me when I didn’t expect it.
80: what color are your bedroom walls? did you choose that color? if so, why?
Dark grey and one wall has black and white stripes. I did choose them because of the Tim Burton aesthetic, and because I like it. Duh.
81: describe one of your friend’s eyes using the most abstract imagery you can think of.
The sky after a storm, no, shortly before a thunderstorm. The minutes when you can’t see the sun but it’s not too dark, it’s murky and full of tension but calm and in colours you usually won’t see in the sky. A kind of dark green, but not emerald, more jade or really good olives from Italy. The feeling when you find a hidden cave under tree roots in the forest, it smells like old wood and long forgotten tales and the kind of adventure you’ll have as a child and you swear it was real and the biggest mystery you ever faced. Even when it was just a trick of lightning and no one believed you.
82: are/were you good in school?
Yes, I was/am a nerd but lazy as hell.
83: what’s some of your favorite album art?
Welcome to the sound of pretty odd from Panic! At the Disco

85: do you read comics? what are your faves?
I do! I greatly enjoyed the Sandman comics from Neil Gaiman
86: do you like concept albums? which ones?
Yes! I love the Danger Days concept from my Chemical romance or the tales of ASP
87: what are some movies you think everyone should watch at least once in their lives?
Shortbus, Prayers for Bobby, Pride, Die Kindes des Monsieur Matthieu
88: are there any artistic movements you particularly enjoy?
I love street art! Banksy is one of my favourites.
89: are you close to your parents?
Yes, but in a weird way
90: talk about your one of you favorite cities.
Oh okay, I totally adore Berlin, the energy in it and the endless possibilities. I’m looking forward to live there! And I like Amsterdam very much, beautiful architecture and the people are really laid back. Oh, and Krakau…. Okay I like a lot of cities
91: where do you plan on traveling this year?
Well in 2018 I’ll travel to the Netherlands by bike and hopefully to Paris with my girlfriend. I hope to visit Vienna again too!
92: are you a person who drowns their pasta in cheese or a person who barely sprinkles a pinch?
Depends on my mood and the sauce!
93: what’s the hairstyle you wear the most?
A low ponytail or a messy halfbun
94: who was the last person you know to have a birthday?
Uh, a workmate of mine had birthday yesterday?
95: what are your plans for this weekend?
Sleeping, cleaning and working. Hopefully chat a lot with my loved ones.

might get better...if I have time before I have to quit art
So it's time to confess.  I'm kind of bummed by how AX2019 artist alley turned out.
 Sure, I didn't get into the red, I was able to have a good time, and nothing traumatic happened.  But I was really disappointed in my sales.  They defied YEARS of trends!  And I thought I was finally going to be able to justify this artist life of mine...But now it seems to be reaffirming my growing hunch to quit.  ;_;
Though granted, last year set a pretty high bar.  Those sales were awesome, and primarily driven by my Wayfinders and having finally made an excessive amount of Wayfinder stock. For years, I've depended primarily on my Wayfinder fan-crafts for sales.  Every year, they sell-out...except for last year when I miraculously managed to make 21 Wayfinders stock and actually have leftovers after the con.  O.O  But this year, AX2019, I think I only sold 2 Wayfinders.  2 out of 15.  ;_;  I thought that if I just keep making more of them or finally make enough to meet customer demand, then I could finally dictate a reasonable amount of sales.  Maybe enough to justify making a living as an artist.  I really needed more income in my life, and I thought that if I just kept making more Wayfinders in excessive stocks, then I could get more financial security. And AX2018 seemed to prove that.  So I studied my past sales trends, predicted how much stock I would need, and virtually met those goals.  But this year, they not only didn't get sold-out, but they were BARELY selling.
Maybe it was my lack of marketing.  Last year I went in hard with posting to my art studio blog.  I posted progress, almost daily, and constantly reminded people what I was making.  But I found out a little while after AX2018 that someone found one of my Wayfinders too fragile and they were very dissatisfied.  I was so ashamed that I ran away from my art studio blog from then on.  I stopped trying to make that type of Wayfinder.  I stopped posting daily progress about my other projects.  I couldn't just replace their item or repair it through the mail because I don't have a mailing system or online shop set up.  And now I was even more reluctant to try any onlie interactions or store.  Maybe if people were better reminded that I was going to be in AX2019 artist alley, where I was, or what I was offering, I could have gotten more sales.
Suddenly being in ailse G didn't help either.  For the past 2 years, I had been in ailse K.  I don't know why.  I don't know why I was suddenly in ailse G for AX2019 either.  Maybe I was later than usual in filling my Artist Alley Form?  Probably.  But I got one passing customer's comment being surprised to find me in ailse G.  Maybe they had become accustomed to looking for me in K?  Maybe they just assumed I wasn't at AX2019, when they didn't see me in K?  I wouldn't put it past the customer base.  I remember memorizing booths' placements in San Diego Comic Con.  And I've had customers prove that attendees have a very askewed memory of time when it comes to what's in artist alley.  Maybe my table location change was too much for them.  (I mean, I may personally go up and down the aisles, systematically checking every table's stock for that one artist who I don't even know if they're here---and I found her too! Under a DIFFERENT name!---but not everyone is as obsessive as me.  First rule of design is to accomodate human tendency to go for what's easy.  And considering how overwhelming an anime convention is, I can't blame anyone.  In fact, I willing and welcome to assist through that.)
My AX2019 Wayfinders were barely selling, especially in proportion to how much time I wasted to make them.  ;_;  I wasted so much time making those Wayfinders, that I've honestly long-since lost a lot of excitement over.  There are so many other things I want to make instead.
So it's fortunate that this year, I impusively sacrificed a lot of my Wayfinder time in exchange for several new projects.  ^.^  And 4 of those projects either sold-out or sold-out a large portion of stock:  Joker-Kirby figurine charms, Smash Bros invitations, pompom Wooloo charms.  Sure, no one bought any Ryuji (birthday) charms, and the Persona 5 x Neko Atsume bookmarkers barely sold, regardless of how much time and love I had for both of those also-impulsive, last-minute projects.  But still, the Smash invitations, Wooloos, and Joker-Kirby figurines were VERY well received.  ^-^  And I loved watching people squee over them---Actually, I found that these demographics don't really "squee".  The Wayfinder fangirls "squee"'ed.  The Smash Bros and Pokemon fans are more like "Duuuude!  Look at that!  Oh man!".  LOL  Still great enthusiasm.  ^___^
And they were less physically and mentally harrowing to make than Wayfinders.  For years now, I had gotten sick of Wayfinder-making eating up ALL my time, only to come out with one completed item per day---or every TWO DAYS. It was DEVASTATING to screw up a sculpt or blend and need even more hours to fix---that I couldn't really get paid for because no one wants to pay more than $70 (except for the Sora Wayfinders, but those had proven too delicate to make more of without a new packaging strategy that I haven't figured out how to source economically yet).  Additionally, there's all the physical strain to make those Skinner Blends.  I'm no longer that 20-something who did 39 push-ups every day and swordswings and ballet exercises and had such full-body athleticism that I was visibly fit!  My arms get TIRED now.  x_x;  Plus the frustration with how bad I am at Skinner Blends...It takes me at least 2 hours to make them.  Meanwhile, YouTube crafters are doing them in 12 minutes.  x___x;;;;;  I can make excuses about how they're not making slabs as thick as mine, or their clay must be better/expensive brands, or they're using motorized pasta machines and I couldn't even properly clean mine before it broke. I was in a constant battle of perfecting a blend or a sculpt, and always being disappointed in myself for not being faster or getting too tired to work for 7 more hours. ;_;  And even more, I was sad that Wayfinders left me so exhausted that I didn't have the time to make anything new.  I was tired of Wayfinders.  They still looked pretty enough for me to take pride in and I had perfected my process enough by now to bolster my confidence.  But I wanted to make more things, damnit!
I had been waiting for years, for someone else in Anime Expo artist alley to give me competition in Wayfinders, so I could have an excuse to focus on other things.  So I wouldn't feel obligated anymore to be the only provider.  Yes, I depended on Wayfinders for the bulk of my sales, but that was the reason why I wished for competition to give me an excuse to branch away from them.  But now that even my Wayfinder sales are waning, maybe this is excuse enough.
The good sales on my new products actually made me feel better about working on new projects and making less Wayfindersfrom now on.  And people really liked my new, crazy, weird ideas! ;U;  They really liked them!  ;u;  And what's more, they liked my figurine sculptures.  I feel really encouraged now to make more figurines, more 3-dimensional characters in clay.  Every year I make all these charms from abstract symbols, representing characters.  And _I_ feel very good about them, but they never sell.  Whether it's my Joker mask charms or Ryuji ZOMG/Skull mask charms, or any other past ideas I've had.  I was so excited for fans of those characters, like me, to also have such things...Only to find that no one cared.  No one cares about representatives of their favorite characters.  This year I finally learned that people want their actual favorite characters.  ...Well, I had known that for a while, but I had no confidence in my character sculptures.  That's why I stuck to just sculpting symbols representing favorite characters.  It was subtle, and I thought some people would go for more abstract badges of fandom.  The symbolic items just don't sell, and I think it's time for me to branch out into actually sculpting characters. I was always afraid because I'm terrible with human anatomy, but sculpting Kirby proved that I don't have to stay away from character sculpting just because of that.  And maybe I can work on my human sculpting and actually make competent human character figurines for my next artist alley.  *o*  AX2019 proved they care about my figurine sculptures!  *O*!  And my Super Smash Bros invitations!  And my pompom Wooloos!  ;U;
Actually, the good sales on these less physically strenuous projects like the Smash invitation and the pompom Wooloo, reminded me:  my paopu fruit plushies and pompom Moogles also sell well.  Every year, I have to stock up as much as I can, because those are reliable sellers.  I just don't have to think about them as much as my Wayfinders because they don't become these complex, harrowing projects, eating all my time for so little.  Maybe I should make more simple projects.  I should stop making items that take 7 hours or 2 days to complete just 1 project.  I should focus more on the little $10 thing that don't take more than 3 hours to make...Because people actually buy those more!  o_O  Maybe it's just the $30 cut-off price point or maybe it's because even short projects like those are cute enough to sell...  But I should focus more on that, if they've already proven effective for sales.  In addition to being better for my physical and mental health.
