ok ive given myself a few hours to think abt it. i dont think i can accept the apology. the fact that it took him this long to be clear about this is telling and ever since i saw the tweet my first thought was "i wonder why they're apologising now". good faith tells me its because of the director realising how much they've fucked up these past weeks, but i can only wonder if theyd have released this at all if their asses weren't lit on fire by the unions first

because of this many other things have come up as well. whether or not you believe the director saying the worker left on their own violiton (this part reminds me of when angela profusely insisted that the library was fair bc the guests agreed to the terms, ignoring the external factors that could push them into doing that btw), what about the leviathan artist who was unfairly treated to the point that they had to quit? what about the translator who kept getting harrassed and also quit because of it? speaking of the translators in general, its been a bit of an open secret for a while that they're understaffed and overworked to hell. im aware that bringing those up detracts from the original topic and the director will likely never acknowledge it, but theyre things im still taking into consideration when thinking about the company

the end of the apology isnt good either. its not stated who its directly targetting but i think its pretty obvious that theyre going after the pmua. talking about "[taking] action to the end against those who claim to vehemently oppose cyberbullying yet somehow believe that attacking the company and its employees with falsehoods and manipulation and using its fans as mere opportunities to amplify their voices, as stepping stones to larger, more righteous discussions is justifiable" is fucking INSANE when the cause of all of this bullshit (dcinside users) hasn't been brought up once by the director. and its not like apologising will make me forget the dogshit statement he made two days ago

like it or not, the incels who attacked projmoon pretty much won. and they'll do this again the moment they get pissed off at the company for some arbitrary reason because its pretty clear that this worked

at primary timeline for reformation I don’t think he has a boss per se bc he’s their lead curator so all the other curators r under him (in the past, sometimes literally…🙄🙄) but armand is head of admin stuff so they’re essentially coworkers and I think they actually function fine on most days once Armand stopped trying to get lestat fired and lestat stopped threatening to kill Armand during work hours or something like that idk… pre rehab lestat was not pleasant to work with but he’s a white man with an artistic eye for talent and contacts to the French museum bureaucracy so he’s only been placed on temporary leave like once. when he came back to work after the rehab level of absence he bought a lot of apology catering since he mostly uses money as an apology lmao but those bagel sandwiches kinda fucking hit so it did work. Armand tried convincing their boss and therefore highest boss to do a mental health awareness exhibit in hopes that artistic inspiration might drive lestat to suicide. But otherwise work is okay for lestat. The next two are to be explored topics so we’re skipping them butttt reformation lestat is just very soothing and easy to write and reformation stems from me and my friend talking about how he’d be like Jacob from Abbott elementary and everything kinda followed after and I think bc so much of the onus of healing and Louis and Claudia being able to heal is on lestat, I’ve thought about him a lot in order to be able to build that universe. Obviously I think about them all a lot but I kinda love him down sorry guys. ONLY REFORMATION LESTAT! Maybe. That’s Louis’ man and he gon stand by him😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭‼️‼️😭

I'm at my boyfriend's and my drink of choice when I ordered lunch wasn't a Rt44 size vanilla cream ice coffee from Sonic... nope. Totally didn't drink 2/3 of it in 45 minutes... nope. He doesn't like coffee - prefers tea (I like both) so he doesn't understand how I can drink it. He says it's gross. To be fair however, my coffee NEVER tastes like coffee but like sugar and cream sooo. I only wish the cup wasn't made of styrofoam :/

Dragon Age DLC character I designed for a project. Her name is Manowen Aeshaya and she’d be an addition to inquisition. She’s a warrior and has a new subclass (Bird of Prey) which allows her to use her hawk companion in battle. She’s dalish and she’s so done with everyone’s shit already. Turnaround and more info under the cut (I spent way too long on this).

Overview

Manowen Aeshaya is a DLC character for Dragon Age: Inquisition. She is a Dalish warrior from the Emerald Graves and can be found in an additional temporary area of the Emerald Graves after the player purchases the DLC. To recruit this companion, the player must complete a brief narrative quest. The goal of this quest is to help Manowen and her clan retake an area of the Emerald Graves from a group of Orlesian soldiers. After the quest is complete, she will express an interest in joining the inquisition, should the player respond favourably to this, she will become a companion. Her recruitment quest is only available once the player has unlocked the Emerald Graves. When the player returns to Skyhold she will appear on the battlements above the gardens.

Skill Tree/Mechanics

Manowen has a unique ability which comes with a new skill tree. She has a hawk companion, named Assan, which she can use to help the party in battle. This new skill tree focuses on Assan’s use in combat, the layout is shown below.

1. Scouting Party: Assan can take notice of enemy strengths and weaknesses by flying overhead. This increases the party’s health and attack power by 5%. It can only be used once per encounter and the effect lasts for the duration.

2. Deadly Distraction: Assan can taunt an enemy, distracting them from whoever they are currently attacking. This negates any blocking of attacks and the enemy cannot attack the party for 5 seconds.

3. Birds of a Feather: Increases the stat boost granted by scouting to 10%.

4. Chosen One: The first enemy Manowen attacks loses all benefits from armor or barriers after scouting.

5. Death from Above: Assan can perform an AOE attack by dropping explosive concoctions on the enemy. Causes 300% weapon damage.

6. Chink in the Armor: Assan can now reduce enemy stats while scouting. Enemy health and attack power are reduced by 10%.

7. Bowled Over: Enemies hit by Assan’s AOE attack will fall prone.

8. Feathered Friend: Assan can be directed to attack an enemy; the enemy cannot damage Assan. Causes 150% weapon damage, hits twice.

Personality/Story

Manowen is one of the foremost warriors of her clan and has risen quickly through the ranks. She takes no nonsense and is very passionate about protecting her clan and those she loves. She is quite quiet and serious but opens up to the player throughout the game. Her main goal is to help rebuild elven culture and reclaim the land stolen from her people. She joins the Inquisition to further this goal through the Inquisitor. She hopes that joining will help her people be taken more seriously, and that she can help the plight of her people politically as well as militarily. As part of her loyalty quest, the player must work to help rescue a group of elves from her clan who have been kidnapped by Orlesian nobles and their forces in the Emerald Graves. She is conflicted about leaving her clan to join the Inquisition as she feels that she is not performing her duty by leaving them, although her clan supports her decision to join. Ultimately, with the Inquisitor’s support she regains her faith that joining was the correct decision.

During the period between Inquisition and Trespasser, Manowen goes back to her clan. She will be available again at the beginning of Trespasser. If the player romanced her, she will introduce them to her clan.

Manowen can be romanced by a female Inquisitor of any race. However, if the Inquisitor is human and believes that they truly are the herald, her romance option will be unavailable.

A/N: This is my 1st time writing anything (that wasn't from last year or for a school project) so I apologize if it's a little...wonky. But I hope you guys like it regardless! ngl you can tell i started getting a little tired halfway so im sorry </33

Kaeya:

Food: don't know if it's particularly canon or not, but I'd say his fave is the chicken mushroom skewer! Specifically his own specialty, whether it's cooked by him or not!

Drink: we already know it's Death After Noon, but I feel like he'd also like Rose Champagne as well :]

Flower: the Calla Lilly for sure! It's part of his ascension materials, it only makes sense

Activity: honestly? I feel like whenever he finds time (aka not working or wine tasting) he just lays back on the couch (or bed) and listens to music. it's his quiet time!

Animal: DOGGIES!! He likes how loyal, friendly and cuddly most of them are, I feel like he'd especially be a golden retriever lover, and in his rare vulnerable moments will just cuddle his dog while crying to himself or ranting <333

Diluc

Food: Pile Em' Up! he probably thinks it's the best food to ever exist ever, hence why he made his own specialty, so he could enjoy it even more! ^^

Drink: Grape juice, duh, but I feel like he'd also be very fond of Cranberry Juice!

Flower: Lamp Grass!

Activity: not gonna lie? Probably just sleeping if he isnt playing Chess. Poor mans is working almost 24/7 HE NEEDS A BREAK!! Let him rest

Animal: also dogs! i think he'd prefer a dog that isnt super duper hyper though, like just a little more chill but still affectionate regardless ^^ Something like a Saint Bernard maybe

Venti

Food: he has two all time faves; A Buoyant Breeze and Apples! Of course he's grateful for just about anything though as long as it tastes good!

Drink: Dandelion Wine!

Flower: Cecilia's! :]

Activity: he's a bard, of course its gonna be singing and maybe even dancing!

Animal: dogs...again... all of them. every single one ever. he just loves them all so much even the ugly rat looking ones

Albedo

Food: Sunshine Sprat!! Doesn't matter if it's his specialty or not he enjoys it either way

Drink: I feel like he'd be very fond of hot chocolate! its not as strong or bitter as coffee since he likes sweet stuff, but its still really hot which is good since hes in Dragonspine 90% of the time

Flower: Mist Flower Corolla's! hes just absolutely fascinated by them

Activity: super obvious, but reading and drawing! I feel like on occasion though he'll stargaze, its very relaxing to him

Animal: cats! not only are they similar to him, but he always finds himself enamored with their looks and behaviors!

Xiao

Food: almond tofu. period

Drink: probably doesnt drink much, and when he does chances are its just water. but! I feel like one day Zhongli takes him out for some tea! Zhongli gets Xiao a peppermint tea with honey and smiles to himself bc Xiao just absolutely loves it its super soothing for him both in flavor AND feeling!

Flower: qingxin!

Activity: poor man doesnt know what hobbies are, let alone his own. i feel like he'd also enjoy stargazing though!

Animal: cats. they're exactly like him, he just resonates with them so much (omg catboy xiao arc??!?!) he'll just sit there on the roof of the inn petting kitties until he's needed somewhere

Childe

Food: isnt a picky eater so he doesnt really have a favorite or least favorite, but he enjoys Calla Lily Seafood Soup a lot! hes kind of conceited though so he'll probably brag about how his version ( A Prize Catch) is like 10 times better

Drink: once this man tastes orange juice he will NEVER shut the fuck up about it. he just feels like an orange juice guy to me

Flower: doesnt really have one! i feel like he'd either find all flowers equally as pretty or just not really pay much attention to them at all

Activity: fighting! hes a stupid little brawling adrenaline junkie what did we expect honestly

Animal: also a dog lover; he cant help it okay he sees a dog and just starts beaming like a little child(e)

Zhongli

Food: Bamboo Shoot Soup!

Drink: honestly? Dandelion Wine and any sort of tea are equally his favorites. he drinks tea more often of course, but Dandelion Wine is his favorite to have as an "on the occasion" sort of thing!

Flower: surprisingly silk flowers! he feels relaxed by them

Activity: he just wants rest man thats it, but i feel like he enjoys taking strolls around Liyue!

Animal: all animals!! except for maybe frogs but thats just because they're super duper slimy

[post] hehehe ur correct, remus did 100% create this problem unecessarily. however from his own pov in that very specific situation it made sense. bc 1) remus has v strong adhd, so he kept forgetting to ask janus about this, and then remembered Suddenly in the scene where the miscommunication happened and was like “well i am going to do this Now while i still have the Thought in my brain.” 2) remus is extreeeemely sensitive to potential dangers in any situation featuring interpersonal dynamics, bc of his backstory that i am not talking about hehe. so, there being another superhero in the room while janus was shapeshifted registered as a Potential Danger to remus. and when he registers potential dangers like that, he is 100% committed to helping with any kinds of deception that could be protecting someone’s personal safety. so, while trying to check if it was janus or not before he forgot again, remus was also working with the assumption that it was possible janus Didn’t want the other superhero in the room to know who they were, and was like “okay, i need to not risk spilling that for them, just in case.”

so the combination of those two things is why he did the flirting thing instead of just asking. in most other situations he would have asked, but he just kept Not Thinking Of It in those other situations. it was essentially bad luck lol.

3) that is a good point!!!!!! i thought abt it some more after u said that, and i realized the Actual Problem i was worried about was a) allistic readers making the savant stereotype connection in their heads if i said logan was autistic, and b) autistic readers who don’t know me being concerned that *i* was doing that stereoptype on purpose. so that was the actual problem i was trying to solve. but it occurs to me i could just make a really passive aggressive author’s note about it on any of the relevant chapters instead lol, and that would be much less stressful to write. so i will probably do that instead. yay!!!!

more clarification about how periods impact shapeshifting powers!! bc i thought abt it more after. so:

shapeshifters cannot stop their period once it has started. they don’t entirely lose their shapeshifting powers, but they do lose some of them. basically, they’re stuck with the same, like, “base” body until the period is over. so they can’t change the height of the body, or the fact that it’s having a period, or its bone structure, or things like its digestive or nervous systems, or things like that—anything the body needs to maintain to run. they can change things like hair, eye color, fat and muscle distribution (to some degree), and so on—anything that’s not integral to the body running. shapeshifting those things is also harder than it would usually be, it takes more concentration and energy. and then once the period is over their powers go back to normal.

for how shapeshifting generally works: the shapeshifter essentially just. imagines the thing they want to shapeshift into. and then they turn into it. they do have to like, make it happen after they imagine the shape they want? like. their brain is making a command for their body to do the thing. kind of like,, intentionally blinking. it feels like that. and then the actual shapeshift happens very fast, like maybe 1-2 seconds for the whole thing. it’s usually pretty easy and doesn’t take much energy, the main exception being if they are shifting to have non-human features (like gills wings etc) or appearances (like making themself be, like, stretched-out-mike-teavee-from-charlie-and-the-chocolate-factory shape). non-human shapeshifts like those do take some extra energy to do, kind of like pushing through a barrier, and the time it takes increases to like 3-5 seconds. also healing by regenerating cells takes more energy and time too. but aside from those cases, and the period case i talked abt in the last paragraph, shapeshifting does not take a noticeable amount of energy. again like blinking. also, shapeshifters can unintentionally shapeshift in their sleep, specifically while they are dreaming. that’s more common for some and less common for others, almost like how sleepwalking is a thing for some people and not for others.

ALSO janus stabbing things is especially funny bc. it doesn’t go with their powers. and it gives them 0 advantage over their nemesis. so there’s literally no reason for them to do it, they just like stabbing things. like, viper (his nemesis) has laser powers. stabbing helps, like, 0% with fighting lasers. janus has like some mirror weapon tool things for when they actually fight viper. and viper now wears protective armor built into her suit’s stomach and chest, and has bracers on her arms. to protect from janus’s illogical stabbing habits. it’s rlly funny.

also, unrelated, but since im talking about viper: she’s a lesbian, and janus is only into men, which both of them are very happy about, because (although janus’s genderfluidity sometimes does make this a tiiiiny bit wobbly, that’s not mostly a problem) it allows them to have all the inherent gay tension of a super nemesis relationship without ever having to worry about actual attraction or feelings getting involved. they’ve literally had whole conversations about this while fighting, and they actually are pretty friendly with each other despite being nemeses. they platonically flirt while trying really hard to beat each other up. they Have given each other relationship advice while fighting before. they have literally so much fun. i love them. im going to see if i can find an excuse to write one of their fights sometimes. it’ll be delightful.

geraskier zoom conference hc's based on that 'and they were video conferencing' post

(this has turned into a fic in point-form oops; also it's more pre-slash 'cuz this quarantine is ongoing and i don't have any specific ideas about how a relationship discussion would go or be handled over zoom haha)

it starts as a group conference call between yennefer and triss and jaskier and geralt probably because yen and triss and geralt run some sort of small business and they need jaskier for something artistic probably (he's a freelancer)

let's say they have some sort of start-up to do with children's education somehow, inspired by ciri, and they want to start a small educational web series and they want music in each episode and so hire jaskier as a composer

geralt is in charge of episode content because this web series is gonna be about mythology and he has a masters in it and has done a fair amount of traveling for it (and lowkey has been learning about different kinds of myrhs and legends and heroes and monsters all his life alongside swordfighting thanks vesemir)

ANYWAYS at first they just talk about work: geralt knows which myths he wants to talk about and how, but can't quite come up with a good narrative because he has a bad tendency to ramble on about very precise specific details that get boring, and he also doesnt know how to set the tone for children despite having one himself

jaskier suggests they make the show centre around a hero that is a witcher who goes off on adventures meeting all these creatures, and jaskier already has some fun ideas for songs

jaskier thinks geralt isnt very forthcoming but he's clearly interested in the project and there's excitement in his eyes when he says ciri will like something they write together

geralt also gets kind of moody about inaccuracies (like a nerd 'cuz he is one lol), and jaskier thinks it's funny and likes to pull his leg by saying they should just change this detail or that detail and that he's allowed bc he's the composer and he's taking creative liberties

about three zoom meetings in, they decide the witcher should have a horse and jaskier says they should give it a name and geralt says "roach" and jaskier laughs and asks about cockroaches and geralt looks... petulant??? and says there are fish called roach too and he meant the fish, and jaskier feels fond and relents and says yes fine the horse's name is "roach"

the next video call they have, they start talking again about work and jaskier's trying not to focus too much on the fact that geralt has shown up with his hair braided but goodness it makes him look softer with the way it pulls back and some strands of hair escape to frame his face

geralt eventually notices and hmms his questioning hmm (and when did jaskier start distinguishing the difference?) and when jask asks about the braid, geralt's face goes EVEN SOFTER and says ciri can't practice braiding on her friends' hair at school anymore so she practices with him and jaskier's like "well fuck that's it this is it ive never even seen him in person but here we are this is a crush oh shit"

the first time geralt laughs is because in one of their meetings, jaskier decided he was gonna be chill and wear a work shirt but just his boxers with stupid cartoon pizzas on them, amd he feels so comfortsble he forgets he's just wesring his underwrar 'till he gets up to grab his acoustic guitar and geralt sounds like he was startled into laughter and yeah, that's right, he's wearing stupid boxers and he flushes but geralt looks pretty amused and jaskier did that so he's not too embarrassed

halfway through the session after that, where jaskier has given up on slightly professional looking clothes but has committed to wearing something over his boxers at all times, he hears some barking and he sees a german shepherd's nose enter the bottom of the frame by geralt's arm

jaskier is obviously like YOU HAVE A DOG and geralt explains ciri usually plays with him during their meetings but they decided to go earlier that day and when jaskier asks what the dog's name is, geralt pauses and looks a cross between irritated and embarassed and then says "roach"

jaskier laughs and laughs and geralt just looks on stoically and it's not on his mouth but jaskier can see the pout in his eyes, but after he's done laughing, all he says is, "like the fish" and geralt smiles a tiny smile and shakes his head and jaskier's a goner, truly

one day, jaskier is caught on trying to find the perfect wording and chord progression for one of the episodes, and focuses on his guitar and keyboard for a while as he toys with this key and that rhyme, and when he looks up, geralt is in a kitchen putting on tea and mixing something in a pot and it's an hour past when they usually hang up

"you could have stopped me, you know?" jaskier asks, but geralt looks at him and hmms and jaskier feels all warm goddammit

he tells jaskier to go take a break and jaskier obliges and brings his laptop to his kitchen and they kind of just have tea together for twenty minutes before something dings and geralt has to go 'cuz it's dinner time for him and ciri

the next meeting, geralt shows up and his daughter's there in the background and she has hair like geralt's and a sunshine personality the complete opposite of geralt (though they both give off disintguished kinds of vibes)

jaskier is charmed; she's a great cheerleader and a wonderful person to run ideas by especially considering she's the target age group for their show, and when she makes a comment about how she wishes she could play the ukulele she got as a gift two years ago, jaskier brightens up and says he can teach her

now jaskier zoom calls a little earlier so ciri can have a short ukulele lesson before his work meeting with geralt, and it's so nice whenever he hears ciri practicing off to the side or roach barking from out of the frame and jaskier wonders what it would be like to truly be in the house with them

the next meeting after, they go a bit too long again bc they were arguing (well, jaslier was actually pulling geralt's leg some more, to be honest, but he can't help it if that's how he flirts), and ciri shows up and says it's time for food and when jaskier says he'll leave them to it, ciri suggests he just stay on amd they can eat together

geralt doesn't immediately say no and actually seems to be waiting for jaskier's answer so jaskier says yeah okay, and he grabs some food and they all have dinner together and they get to talking and jakier and ciri bond over disney movies and ciri says she wants to watch them together the three of them and yennefer and triss

the watch party happens and over zoom yennefer seems deeply amused the entire time and triss keeps giggling and geralt seems extra annoyed for some reason but jaskier enjoys himself and sings along to the movie and he tries not to imagine sitting right next to geralt on his couch on the side not occupied by his daughter

jaskier wakes up with a headache very close to their meeting time one day, and kind of just opens his laptop while he's lying in bed and opens the window to wait for geralt to start the meeting while he reaches over to get his ukulele 'cuz it's the closest instrument to his bed and the easiest on his brain when it's pounding like this

when he settles back against his headbkard and pillows once more, geralt is looking at him with a frown and asks if he's feeling okay, to which jaskier replies he's fine it's not covid he just gets headaches every now and then and it sucks but he can still compose (and he shakes his lil uke at the camera)

geralt says no he should sleep and when jaskier pouts he says he's going to sit here and wait for jaskier to put down the damn ukulele and drink some water and eat a granola bar and then tuck himself back into bed and he looks all fierce about it while he says it and how can jaskier not lug his laptop around while he does these things and fall a little more in love

eventually it becomes totally normal for jaskier to just hang out for long stretches of time, whether or not they talk about their witcher web series, and they cook together and hang out in their pajamas and jaskier and ciri have their music lessons and their disney nights and geralt even starts getting him to work out during some of their work breaks by doing 8 minuts abs

(jaskier was pretty adamant about not exercising but said he's do it just the one time but after 8 minutes of pain, geralt was flushed and kind of sweaty and said he needed to chamge his shirt anf then just took it off right there on the camera before he walked out frame to grab a new one and jaskier had to rush to pick his jaw off the floor before going to change out of his own sweaty clothes and yeah so he does 8 minute abs with geralt sometimes now)

once, geralt sends him a zoom link for a meeting at 2am on a night when jaskier can't fall asleep (his sleeping schedule's been so fucked since quarantine started) and when jaskier joins him, he looks like hell and he apologizes but when jaskier says he probably won't sleep for another three hours anyways, geralt looks the tiniest bit grateful and asks if they can work so they do, and if jaskier writes a song that's a little more like a lullabye dyring their meeting, and feels like his heart is about to burst when geralt, who'd moved from his desk to his couch, nods off while jaskier softly sings to him, well... jaskier doesn't know what to do with himself after he makes sure geralt is properly sleeping and then leaves the zoom meeting

they work and work and really get to know each other and then, all of a sudden, there are no more songs to be written for their witcher series and jaskier says "that's the last song, i think" and geralt hmms but neither of them hangs up

jaskier bites his lip and says, "i'll see you at the team meeting we'll have with yennefer and triss to wrap up my contract, i guess?"

and geralt says, "you should add me on facebook; we should keep in touch for future projects"

jaskier tries not to feel too bummed out because this is still a connection point and also yay more creative projects with the hot man he is probably definitely in love with and also potentially more money! but he's still a little bummed and then he decides if he's going to feel bummed he should at least do something about it and he says, "i will! you know facebook has video chat too"

and geralt hmms again but there's definitely a smile, and it's even an actual smile! "im aware," he says, and then before he hangs up the zoom call he looks stern and adds, "dont forget about ciri's ukulele lessons" and honestly jaskier wasn't expecting to continue with them but he's relieved they can still keep doing those

he shoots geralt that friend request and sates the need to scroll down his wall by going through geralt's past previous profile photos instead (they're usually of him and ciri and they're adorable)

and then, delight of delights, the next day around when they usually have their meeting, there's a video chat request from one geralt of rivia coming through facebook, and even more delightful: geralt's clearly on his phone and he only waits on the screen long enough to make sure jaskier's there and to give him a quirked eyebrow and a trademark hmm before he turns the camera around and jaskier is treated to an outside view and a walk with geralt and roach via mobile

and thus geralt becomes a fixture of his every day life

Also since some of yall won't hear the blacktiny side of this debacle, lemme hit you with the Hongjoong and Ateez side of this (bc from some of the anons, yall are putting Hongjoongie over Blacktiny and apparently this is the only way I can get through to some yall hardheaded and borderline or full on racist asses)

KQ following in the footsteps of bigger companies before them and putting Hongjoong in braids (several times, looking at those new photos hnn) isnt good for Hongjoong, Ateez, or KQ.

Looking back at bands who have had the same thing done and gone through similar cultural appropriation incidents (i.e, BTS, EXO, Blackpink, Red Velvet, Stray Kids, Mamamoo, iKon, NCT (all units, including the recent WayV incident), etc ), you not only insult your fans by mocking their culture and/or using them for a costume, you also sever ties with a lot of potential fans and on the business end of it, thats a completely unessesary loss.

To this day, even after apologies, bands that have gone this path STILL have people who wont even touch the band because of their cultural appropriation. Everyone is different, but at the end of the day, poc are not REQUIRED to forgive companies and bands and swallow the pill, so to speak, when these topics come up.

Understand when I say what I'm about to say that I dont condone bullying, but I am using the previously mentioned incidents as examples but

To. This. Day. Even after apologies and what appears to be understanding and remorse from companies and artists, both fans and 'antis' will still bring up these cultural appropriation incidents. Even YEARS after its passed and if there was no repeat offense in between. Again, i in no capacity am condoning bullying or threats, but to this very day idols like Bang Chan (SKZ), Taeyong (NCT), Namjoon (BTS) are recieving threats and constant harassment for mistakes made previously because companies refuse to learn.

KQ set Hongjoong up for some bullshit, and all of this is completely and utterly unnecessary.

Now, unpopular opinion or whatever, but I still hold to my opinion that Hongjoong did not want this shit. He has been nothing but sincere about his intentions to connect with Atiny of all cultures and build a strong relationship with us. I very seriously doubt he was in agreement to this.

That being said, it is perfectly okay to still be disappointed. In him, in KQ. He by no means deserves hate, but as someone who is not only a blacktiny, but also Hongjoong biased myself, anyone disappointed in him is valid in being as such.

On the same hand, I'd like us all to keep in mind that Hongjoong is an idol. And I know a lot of us in the west have a very western view on things, but at the end of the day, we have to understand idol culture and companies are different from over in the west.

These idols may have *some* creative freedoms and control, some more than most, but at the end of the day, unless they completely run their own company and make their own rules, they do not have full say in what happens to them and their careers.

Idols have been very vocal about this in the past. And again, I'm in no way saying idols are completely helpless or that *some* of them dont actually see the error in their ways (plenty of idols really are just,,,problematic, no company bullshit needed), but I ask yall, if bands that have been around half a decade or more still dont have full creative control over their lives and careers, what makes yall think Hongjoong (if he didn't want these braids, which I strongly believe he didnt) could actually say no to the company holding him and his whole band in their hands and stand a chance?

I cannot stress that I'm not telling people they cant be mad or hurt *at* Hongjoong, but I'm seeing a lot of people saying he could've just "walked out of the chair" "hes a grown man, he can say no" and??? Not really no he cant???

Moving on to the reason a lot of these companies give when we raise hell about CA (if they bother to respond to), thats rooted in so many problems.

They say they put (African) braids or dreadlocs in idols hair because its "cool" or "makes them look tough" or some shit.

It fits an aesthetic. Thats why. Because it fits a hood aesthetic.

I really shouldn't have to explain to yall the problem in using someone else's culture to fit an aesthetic, but since this always comes up, allow me to tell yall a bit of why thats a problem.

The braids come into play when they want their idols, (mostly rappers, a role adopted from black culture) to look "gangsta"/"tough"/"intimidating"/or 🙄🙄🙄"urban". They take hairstyles from black culture to fit an image thats ~intimidating~.

Our braids, our dreads (which, again, to some rasta peoples, is a RELIGOUS symbol and SACRED) are temporarily put on these idols so people can gasp and go "ooo intimidating."

Historically, black people who wear their hair in braids or dreads are turned down from jobs, assaulted wrongly, looked at with prejudice, or down right murdered for the same idea. Nonblack people are historically more intimidated by a black person with hair in braids or in dreads because media portrays black people who dont have short cuts or straightened hair as someone to be feared.

Our braids, they're protective styles.

Our dreads, also protective, sometimes religious.

Our hair isnt for us to look "cool" or "intimidating". That whack ass excuse doesnt work. Companes are in their 4th generation of kpop and refuse to learn from the mistakes of past companies and generations. Yall use our culture (and brown and latinx cultures) improperly and when we tell yall why its wrong, we're pushed aside by our own fandoms or the companies we're constantly giving money to.

We're not asking for an arm and a leg. We're asking for yall to listen to us and not blatantly spit in our faces. We matter just as much as East Asian and white fans.

Also, not nearly as relevant as most of this post, but standing with blacktiny and our allies for this voting really shouldn't be as controversial and hectic as it is.

Thanxx and Inception are amazing songs. Thanxx is not going to disappear if yall vote Inception. It literally means Inception will be the TITLE song, therefore the song getting the MOST attention out of the two, which is important because you're not forcing blacktiny to have to deal with a whole promotional period of pushing a mv where our culture is blatantly being disrespected. Thanxx as a B side is not the end of the world. No, people shouldn't be rude to you about the voting, but I ask that yall please take that into account when we ask you to vote Inception.

god i just went through all through my dammek tag/ art... such good times back then but also i felt like i should say something!!

2017-2018 was a very confusing and difficult time for me, not having the adequate tools to deal with my trauma even now, it took so long for me to catch up with growing up like the rest of my peers. I think it showed in my art, and it showed in how i talked to others and interacted with the world around me.

i realized this before, but seeing some of my art and posts from years ago just really solidified to me the idea that... some things i drew back then were really not the greatest! Not talking about memes, I’ve always been a very blunt/crass artist. But im talking mostly about the times i was into hiveswap. I dont want to be dismissive to the people who brought up legitimate concerns, some even going to the extent to make an unsourced callout accusing me of pedophilia because of some of my art content.

fictional characters in media have always been something my brain loves to latch on to, and especially during 2017/2018 i really didnt have any boundries with the shit i wanted to draw with certain characters, regardless of their ages or not. ive never been attracted to kids and i certainly am not now or ever will be LMAO but it was really hard for me to make the distinction with these fictional characters when i would make art of xefros and dammek. i latched on REAL hard to them and wanted to make art of them that was relatable to me!

even now i still adore them, but i understand more that its up to me as an adult to keep those boundaries in place (with ANYTHING i draw really). keeping in mind that , yes they are fictional characters, and it really isnt a big deal in the grand scheme of things that i like them so much, but theres a point where it stops becoming “im attracted to these characters so much i wanna draw them all the time bc i relate to them and their stories/i love their designs” and turns into “im sexually and romantically attracted to these characters specifically BECAUSE theyre underage”

i have gone back and deleted shit that weirded me out from 2017/2018 but. i really just wanted to say something about it. i do sincerely apologize if i ever came across as creepy with my interest in these characters, but it was never meant to be so. my fucked up sense of humor is usually the best with adult characters and adult stories, and most of it was really supposed to be ironic. the irony of that however, is that because of how ironic i was shooting for with my art, most people didnt quite get it! which in turn makes it a bad joke and a failure on my part.

I didnt want to get into any of the actual reasons why i was the way i was a few years ago, because i never latched onto underage characters so hard before this??? but i think part of it had to do with my own personal trauma i was working through and just . homestucks weird thing about writing their kids like adults lmao. big circle heads and small bodies just always confused me, especially when theyd draw adult characters like that. at 17/18/19 i really did not feel like a 17/18/19 year old due to how .... fucked up i was mentally. I dont think I officially matured mentally until I turned 21. Thats mostly because of the deep psychological trauma i dealt with at very early ages and for most of my childhood, but thats a story for another time. to anyone whos actually reading this, thanks? and thats about it.

sparknotes version: private communications btwn all of the current and former aoa members were released by dispatch (believed to be provided by one or more if the members) along w screenshots of texts amongst fnc staff and with mina.

member comms: jimin apologized a bunch of times but admitted that she couldnt remember doing the things mina said she did, mina accepted and rejected and accepted the apologies, choa mediated (notable bc she had already left the group at the time)

also, later texts were released showing jimin and mina hanging out and talking like friends

staff comm w/ mina: mina asked the staff to take care of her personal stuff (which theyre legally not allowed to do so that artists dont take advantage of them) and then berated them for not doing it/ not doing it well enough.

staff gc comm: shows employees talking about how scared they are of mina and how theyre not really supposed to be taking those requests from her but they feel pressured to

i'll say that over all the transcript don't really work in mina's favor. a bunch of the stuff she's said before this didn't line up a bunch of knetz had already turned on her and this seems to be adding fuel to that fire. one of the things that people are focusing on is that the transcript makes clear that mina lied when she made a big deal about jimin never apologizing to her, as jimin apologize like five times in this convo alone. personally i think that warrants consideration, but isnt the biggest deal here.

when i read the transcript i just went 😬 because it feels like this situation shouldn't have been public in the first place? like it's definitely more complicated than a simple "one is the bully, one is the victim" thing. at the very least it's clear that mina had some preexisting issues that should be worked out away from social media, and that if those issues were not the case this whole situation might have been very very different (ie we might not even know about it because it wouldve been handled privately). i also wonder about the utility of dispatch releasing this to the public...like we're not judge, jury, or executioner so????

when i find it i'll link the full transcript, but this is just a general summary + popular interpretation + my opinion. if any of the info here is inaccurate please feel free to add on with corrections!

As an aside... The world has changed drastically and it will never be the same. Production rollouts and errors are going to be many and the biggest groups that need protecyion are the workers, not rushing product out. I hope fandoms understand that the world is crumbling and capitalism is not sustainable. This isnt working. The only way out is eradication and i hope when people continue to engage w this media particularly with BL they truly remember that. It seems tangential but it isnt, it’s important, and this is inside that part in time. It is important so we support our ppl around the world and this means caring about the material conditions of the oppressed, meaning taiwanese ppl as we watch this and the realities of gender, sexual, and ethnic minorities there. They arent magically cured from the pitfalls of society with this portrayal. People are fighting tooth and nail, especially artists in this climate, please remember this is not a reflection of a world that is perfect. This was a good example of an escapist show that factored in the real world and not to its detriment but it still is escapism. Lets champion this beinn on a major network but realizing this genre and media clashes with liberation we seek in a complex way. Thats ok. I just think it’s important to remember that now more than ever. We cant stop interrogating and fighting and making ever.

Im glad ppl put work into this show and avoided the usual pitfalls with patriarchal nonsense with rape culture so it IS true escapism while grounded in reality. I hope they can develop more and also i hope the editor of this show and other heads of department understand what the transition button in their editing program is for for sound. :)

well hello human friends !! n also hello to the non human friends too , wassup . i’m angie a dumb noodle from the middle of the south american jungle , and i’m here to introduce yall to this mess i call blue who’s a muse i have had for yrs now n carry w/ me wherever i go , with some minimal changes but she’s still the same messy bitch on the inside don’t worry folks ! so i will provide u w/ some background info on her n some possible connections under the cut . issa lil messy but we’ve been away for a while pls bear w me

blue is the only daughter to a couple of south korean immigrants that came to america when they were in their very early 20s n already expecting blue in order to chase the american dream n create a better life for themselves n their family . their life was pretty hard for a big part of blue’s childhood , while they were both studying n working odd jobs to pay for their education all the while taking care of a child . so blue didnt have the best childhood , not that her parents were bad or anything they just didnt have time for her . nowadays , they are a lot more comfortable in life , since her dad became a lawyer n her mom is a nurse , but they definitely didnt have an easy beginning .

ok so maybe bc they werent present durant most of her childhood they didnt notice a lol of signs that might have made things a lot easier for them , bc by the time they were available to emotionally be there , during her early teenage years , blue was already kinda a mess . she had grown up w very lil structure n refused the rules they tried to instill on her n was already used to doing things her own way . that lead to a lot of conflict between them , since they expected her to study hard n do well for herself in a nine to fiver when she was already sure art was the only way to go n while she did ok , she definitely wasn’t as good as her parents expected her to be .

so ... u know her teenage yrs were basic girl angsty she fought a lot w her parents n rebelled frequently n ran away from home like ... weekly , but she never rly had any real hardships . life was reasonably good but she always had something to complain abt ... just as she liked

but then she reached her late teens they all realized there was something going on other than the usual teenage angst she displayed all the time when she had her first manic episode . her parents thought it was a “ blue thing “ at first bc she was usually a very impulsive person n she rly didn’t have a habit of thinking before acting on her impulses , but her mom quickly noticed the signs of a manic episode when she realized how aggitated n restless she was , specially when blue described an hallucination she seemed to be having . they took her to a psychiatrist , she was admitted to a hospital n diagnosed w type 1 bipolar disorder n very quickly medicated . while the medication brought her out of her episode , n she was allowed to go home after her mood seemed to stabilize , blue also noticed it stunted her severely emotionally n decided ( against medical n parental advice [ pls dont do it fam !! take ur meds ] ) to quit her medication , falling into her first major depressive episode a few weeks afterwards . n for abt four years she’s been living w her disorder , n she doesn’t medicate at all . she’s super open abt her struggles n she has a Lot of them , specially w how much drugs n alcohol she consumes . i never said she was smart yall .

ok so as u probably assume , blue is an emotional mess . she has a very chaotic personality , n most of it isnt even from her illness or anything she just is a very chaotic person in general ? she is one of those artsy ppl who forgets to wash her own clothes so she ends up wearing the same dress for like , 3 days . she’s super outspoken n outgoing n rly easy at making friends if u can get past the dumbass energy she exudes 24/7 ? but yes just a very outgoing person n a outright mess most of the time . she is also soooo stubborn u will never get her to change her mind abt smth she believes to be right about in any way . u just cant . she loves a good time n loves partying n is the lack of impulse Queen soo if u got any bad ideas she is the one u should go for if u need any company . also .... so dramatic . she makes a big deal of everything n has 0 apologies abt that . just catch her crying over high school musical 3 or smth like that .

but yea on the bad side tho , blue takes up n gives up on projects so easily n she can be super fickle abt things in general . like , she will defend an idea for 7 hours but 2 days later she’s already onto smth else n doesnt even remember being so obsessive abt that other thing ? a mess . is also Quite abrasive ? if she thinks ur acting dumb shes not gonna be scared to call u out on it . can also have a Reaally explosive temper . not usually but specially during manic episodes she can be quite easy to annoy ngl . is very unreliable , especially if ur not too close .. tbh that is something connected to her disorder . when she’s on a manic episode , she will be too busy planning things she will never get around to doing or painting her entire house or spending 3 days awake n drunk writing 17 songs by herself . n during her depression is very hard to get her to do anything n even if she feels terrible , she rly cant be an available friend .

in regards to her sexuality , she’s an open bisexual and also is a crazy romantic n falls so hard for literally no reason . but like ... doesnt have the healthiest mentality for relationships ? not like in a toxic way but she will usually give 145% of herself at all times n honestly believes all of the ppl she falls for are the one (1) just wants to make things work no matter what . she’s v impulsive w/ meeting n falling for ppl tho so things dont rly end up working n she always ends up heartbroken over it . Well . At least she’s trying right ?

in regards to her career n art , she’s posted youtube covers n original songs for a couple years and gathered a decent following ? she wasnt huge or anything but she did get a record deal w an actual big label out of it a few months ago . blue was pretty happy abt it but then when the recording process started she realized they werent treating her as she thought she deserved at all ? which resulted on her taking her thoughts to some reps of the label n when she didn’t feel any difference in the way she was being treated she took it to the public ? which definitely caused quite a sitr bc she wasn’t a huge name but she was big enough ? so now she’s in some considerable trouble w her label but Also more famous than ever so they are choosing not to bury her for now ? she’s in some definite trouble though so it’ll be fun to see what happens next n what her moves will be ? spoiler alert : it’ll prob be smth dumb.
