She brushes another kiss to his hidden face and settles against the car door, holding him. She thinks for a moment and decides on something old, a tune she heard on the radio once upon a time and never heard again; she’s warped it, now, no doubt about it, humming it from memory so long it’s changed to whatever she has made it. But Will recognises it from years of lullabies, picking up on the swooping baritones and mumbling the words into her shoulder.
“You know, that Han Solo shrine up in your room makes a lot more sense, now that I think about it.”
The melody dies in his throat.
“Mama.”
“I’m just saying.” She bites back a smirk, swatting away his smacking hands. “There was a point in time I thought it was admiration, you know, but you have a lot of posters of that open vest —”
“Mama!”
She acquiesces, this time, never having seen his poor face so scarlet, trying and failing to keep her laughter to herself. The tear tracks have long since dried and his breathing is steady, now, gangly limbs tucked into her ribs and hanging off the bend of her thigh. Flopped all over her like he used to to when he was young and she was still touring, when the world was too loud and too bright and too mean and she hid him from the sun. Her hands in his hair are to touch instead of soothe.
“Who’s the boy?”
“No.”
“C’mon, babydoll.” She pokes at his ribs, grinning widely when he rolls his eyes to hide his smile. “Tell me.”
“It’s nobody, Ma, gods.”
“Yeah, right. Not like you were comparing having a crush to killing someone in cold blood twenty minutes ago. Clearly it’s somebody.”
He, very pointedly, doesn’t answer.
Unfortunately, he forgets that he gets his stubborn from her.
“Hm. Can’t be anyone I haven’t heard of in a few weeks, or else it wouldn’t be bothering you. What names have you mentioned?”
He looks at her in horror. “You wouldn’t.”
Absolutely, she would. Her smile widens.
“I’m gonna go out on a limb and guess it ain’t Chiron, ‘cause then I’d have questions —”
“Oh my gods! Stop!”
“— an’ I doubt it’s that security fellow, with the eyes, although if it is no judgement —”
“I’m throwing myself out of this car! Right now! I’m gonna lay on the road ‘til someone hits me!”
“— Lord, you don’t mention many names. You’re a recluse, baby. You gotta make more than two friends.”
She stills. Will, perhaps guessing where she is going, makes a noise of deep, personal agony.
“Oh my stars, is it Cecil?”
“Ew, Ma!”
He strains against her hold but she tightens, hooking her elbow around his shoulders and flexing her other hand, pretending to examine her nails.
“It is, isn’t it? I mean, he is a very handsome young man. And he has a good heart, too, despite the — how to put it — distaste for the law —”
“I just threw up in my mouth! Right now! Stop it!”
“I should probably stop letting him stay in your room when he stays over, huh, that one’s on me —”
He wrenches himself away from her, finally, clambering over the seats and gagging like the mere idea makes him nauseous.
“Ew! Ew! I do not have a thing for Cecil, oh my gods, I might as well marry my cousin! Augh! I’m gonna throw up for real! Why would you even say that, oh my —”
“Alright, alright!” she laughs, kicking his rapidly repeating shoulder. “Holy Jesus, you are dramatic. I should call up camp and tell him you’re out here retchin’ at the mere thought.”
“Good,” Will says darkly, voice muffled from how deeply his head is buried in his hands, “make sure to also tell him he is a weasel.”
“Uh-huh.”
“And that I am going to deface his vintage Hot Wheels collection.”
“Y’all have a strange friendship.”
“He’s not my friend, I am stuck with him via circumstance and because he refuses to leave me alone.”
She holds up her hands in surrender, refraining from pointing out the friendship bracelet he is currently wearing with a CM on it and that has not left his wrist in four years.
“Alright, alright. Not Cecil.”
He scoffs in agreement, ignoring her rolled eyes.
She wracks her brain for other boys he’s brought up in their phone calls, aside from people in passing. Mostly he mentions patients, really, answering her endless inquiries — it will never stop astounding her that he baby can practically sew heads back on bodies; she tells people he’s in med school and preens at their wide, impressed eyes — but there are other people he mentions, in between that and the pranks he’s frequently pulling with his friends.
“There was that boy you were so excited to keep around. Nick?”
“His name is Nico,” he corrects, and then immediately goes scarlet. “I — I mean, I have a friend, named Nico, not that —”
Her grin gets sharp as nails.
“He is — unwell! He’s travelled a lot, he needs monitoring so I am — monitoring him, you know, out of concern for his safety —”
“Nico and Wi-ill, sitting in a tree —”
“Oh my gods are you five —”
“You are steaming! I can actually feel the heat pouring off of you right now! You love him, you want to kiss him, you —”
“I am never telling you anything again in my entire life!” he hollers. “Never! Next time I think I should tell you something I’m just gonna — swallow glass”
She snickers. “Drama queen.”
He sticks out his tongue as she situates herself back in her own seat, turning the keys in the engine. His puts his dirty converse on the dash despite her grouching, reaching over to fight her for control of the radio, flapping his hand excitedly when she lets him win and something bright and overdone starts playing. His bandage stays where it is, tied loosely around his wrist.
“I’m glad you told me, you know.”
He smiles, small and genuine, leaning into the palm she cups around his cheek. The dimple in the centre of his right cheek is back, the scrunch of his freckled nose. She presses a lingering kiss smack dab in the centre of his forehead and he leans into it, trusting.
“I know.”

Hannigram and Verger Family analysis
TW: MARGOT AND WILL'S STOMACH SCARS MENTIONED AND IMAGES (underneith the cut)
HOLY SHIT YALL IM BACK WITH ANOTHER REALIZATION
so i just realized that wills "c section esque" scar he got from hannibal in mizumono might actually look that way for a reason
it could be symbolic to a hysterectomy because hannibal took their child away, and had to give Will scar somehow. And i mean, will technichally is the mother, he killed abigail's father placing her in his custody- hannibal only helped with it. Just how the criminals in season 1 (angelmaker, georgia madchen, abel gideon, etc) and their crime scenes were DIRECTLY paralleled to the progression of wills encephalitis and the state of his mental well being, Margot getting a hysterectomy from mason basically directly parallels will getting abigail taken from him.
Also, Margot choosing to have sex with Will specifically, and the child coming into their lives and then almost immediately being taken away (BY HANNIBALS DOING) forshadows abigail coming back and then almost immediately after, her death. Will empathized with margot (WHO HE KNEW WAS GAY, or at least hannibal did, it was stated in the script but was cut from the final product) about the lack of a child, which is literally the only reason had sex with her (he thought about the stag man the whole time anyway...)
This one specific conversation in the episode Tome-Wan is very important. Will says to hannibal, "you're fostering codependency. isn't that what you did to abigail? got her to take a life so she would owe you hers?" That's exactly what hannibal is doing to margot- trying to get her to kill mason so she would owe herself to hannibal. it also connects abigail and margot in a way.
continuing the conversation, will says "i bond with abigail, you take her away. i bond with barely more than the idea of a child, you take it away... you don't want me to have anything in my life that's not you." Hannibal, knowing very well the consequences, told mason about margot's plans and had the child taken forcibly away from her.
Hannibal also directly took abigail away from will, by cutting her throat in front of him. both of these things ended with a scar, margot's from the hysterectomy, will's from hannibal's knife, but it looks oddly familiar to margot's. Also remember, right before wills and margot got together, the two of them compared scars. (MORE ANALYSIS UNDER THE CUT)
Also i know this is kind of a strange comparison considering mason and his intentions, but in the episode Naka-Choko, this exchange happens:
margot is unable to kill mason because despite all the horrible things he does to her, deep down she still loves him and can't bring herself to do it. who does this sound like to you? yep- Hannibal and Will. Now bviously hannibal and will's love is very different from the verger's, but it's still a parallel
i can't believe i didn't realize it before but there's a LOT LOT LOT of parallels between hannigram and the vergers. one of them being they all were with alana (minus mason) 😭

Katale and Rudyard but as little crime babies. Since he's known her for a while and just thought she looked like a little street thug despite being higher ranking than him in the crime organization at first, the cat-ear hairstyle was just A Thing for her. And it spawned the nickname he would use in private of "Kitty" and even when she grows her hair out and he grays even more he still calls her Kitty in private. They're literally just bffs who do crime and what more can you want of them??

#song of the day#it's been two weeks + two days since the last song of the day#the issue is you see that I started the songs up again in December because my insomnia was fucking up my perception of time#and I wanted some kind of regular marker to help me keep track#and then what happened two weeks + two days ago is that I lost all track of time and subsequently the songs of the day failed#I'm gonna see if I can keep up again for a bit now that I've re-restarted without an alarm on my phone#but if I miss any this week I'll just give in and turn the alarm back on#updates from the last two weeks are going to sound so chaotic let's see#I got a new project at work /and/ I got demoted /and/ I got added to a higher access level /and/ I'm in charge of a new database#yes all of those things together. I'm to be an accountant now! not instead but in addition to my other stuff. should be interesting#I didn't get April Fools off like I was scheduled to because all my scheduled vacation got unapproved#(I was here for about twenty nonsequential minutes to boop people and I'm glad I made time for it. extremely fun to boop)#I lied shamelessly to get eclipse day off and we went on a full-day roadtrip and it was wonderful. everything I dreamed and more#I killed one of my baby succulents through clumsiness and rabbits ate my pea plants but my sage and cabbages look promising#got a massive pot of mint flourishing on my porch and the horseradish is gorgeous#got Duncan lights and plants and a filter system for his frog tank but we haven't set up the substrate yet#so there's just potted plants sitting inside a terrarium. very amusing honestly#I've been playing a little Stardew and eating a /lot/ of hot sauce and tofu#drinking tons of klass aguas frescas--especially the soursop one. holy shit is it good. the mango and hibiscus also#and these past few days I've been sleeping better#for most of those two weeks I was getting a handful of twenty-minute naps each workday and then crashing unwillingly on the weekend#I haven't read any comic books since February :'( this weekend we're going to costco and then I'm reading comics until Monday#what have y'all been up to? I think a lot about how Trish says that she can still sense that Diavolo is alive when he's in the death loop. That just sounds miserable to me; imagine if you constantly felt your abusive father's presence even after he's "taken care" of
#child abuse tw#another problem i have with the infinite death thing ngl#though i suppose that could mirror the effect an abusive parent would have on a kid#even after you're far away from your abuser for good that kind of thing sticks with you and never fully goes away#speaking of which. the one time diavolo actually kind of scared me as a villain was the one time he and trish actually interacted#diavolo is a very exaggerated evil dad to the point where it's not comparable to most real abusive parents if that makes sense#he's her absent father who turns out to be a crime boss that wants to kill her. that doesn't map on to many real life scenarios much#but when trish uses her stand against him and he says ''if only you'd never been born... now you've REALLY made me mad'' and guts her#that was the one point that made me go. holy shit that kind of feels like something a real abusive parent would say#does that make sense? i hope so#rambles#short posts

I’ll be honest and like I’m only on s2 so idk if it’s early for me to write off the Lego knights but like their characters are so woefully 1 dimensional holy hell. They have a lot of potential and sorry idk if I’m offending anyone here but nexo fandom? I’m stealing all your knights and revamping them bc I’m crazy (and it will be fun)
Edit: this is an opinion. Anyone’s free to disagree. You’re still valid if you think these characters are well written. This was not meant to be an attack on anyone. This is how I in general enjoy consuming content. By analysing critically and reconstructing canon into my own fanon specifically for my own entertainment. It’s not serious. It’s not a jab at anyone. And I still enjoy the show even if it’s badly written. Like someone said in the comments, it’s actually sometimes a good thing to watch shows that don’t have as much writing quality.
Edit 2: this post has nothing to do with Ninjago. This isn’t a comparison. This is not me saying “Ninjago is better and because nexo isn’t Ninjago, it’s trash”. I’d have these opinions regardless. Also the tags are still not supposed to be an attack. Its just reasoning that back up my first point. It should be okay to acknowledge and think critically of characters

Ruvaran, setting up to majorly tick off a group of people with next to no beef with Angmar for no reason, completely ignoring all the people who have huge amounts of beef with Angmar who aren't anywhere near this mountain: Yeah this is a good plan

ive just gone down a massive rabbit hole of youtube videos explaining and answering questions abt love in its biological and scientific form and wow i feel strangely enlightened
#sophie’s idle chatter#as someone who takes bio and psych a lot of things i knew/i could gather#but watching these from a biological anthropologist and then psychiatrists after really did enlighten me bc holy fuck#“people pine for love; people live for love; people have killed for love; and they have died for love.”#<- a line that will very much always be in the back of my mind#and the fact its practically an addiction bc all the activity happens in the part of the brain active in addictions#“...and sends dopamine to many brain regions giving you that focus; the motivation; the obsession; the craving of intense romantic love.”#<- also another that really struck out to me#love is such a fulfilling yet destructive emotion and honestly i think that bc its so all-encompassing thats what makes#it so sought after (not by everyone but by a vast majority) bc we want to have that experience and connection ourselves even#without realising sometimes bc love at first sight really does happen and all it takes is that *one* moment for a persons world to change#well that was a rant and a half holy fuck#but if u made it to the end pls know i love u for reading my rambles bc its genuinely such an interesting topic/concept to me ;w;;

It IS very weird that Benji is there (as in, court/Auvergne) at the end with Armand and not Daniel but then again, the last time before that one, Daniel is there with Armand but not Benji or Sybelle, so I guess it’s one of those things where it’s fair to assume that Armand just picks an immortal in his house to travel with at any given time depending on everyone’s mood. Also, I don’t know if Daniel would’ve had it in him to keep his mouth shut during THAT scene with Lestat, given his track record of just saying the first thing that pops into his head. Benji cried and offered Armand his support but didn’t actually say anything? And while I’m not entirely sure how Daniel would’ve reacted, I do believe it might’ve involved words and who knows how that could’ve gone! Sorry I’m just rambling now 🤣
It is, yeah! In universe, I think it's probably a matter of Daniel was off doing something else during BC2 and/or house sitting Trinity Gate (read: playing through The Last of Us and refusing to leave until he got to the end). Maybe he opted not to come to court so Sybelle and Benji went because Daniel was staying at the house. I mean the possibilities are endless.
It's just funny to me he's absent from BC2 (entirely, not so much as a mention) because Daniel is the one who literally started the series, who's such a fundamental part of Armand's life and character arc, and who is someone I think Armand could rely on for comfort and support. And instead it's Benji. 😐 As an authorial choice, it's sort of weird given that we know Armand and Daniel have recently reconnected and are presumably living together at TG, but I don't know why Anne made those decisions and I doubt we ever will.
As for Daniel being mouthy, absolutely, he doesn't really keep his thoughts to himself (except, apparently, in RoA LMAO when there are ALIENS - I'm sorry I'm just never gonna be over that. The aliens or Daniel's lack of commentary on them!)
I don't think he'd have a problem with anything Armand said: I think he knows Armand has loved Lestat deeply since they first met. I also think the reason Daniel is not mentioned in that speech is because it's understood that he's in a different category altogether and cannot be compared to Armand's other relationships (he's his fledgling, after all, among other things). And Daniel is the one in PL talking about how vampires have a great capacity for love.
So Daniel would have been supportive AF of Armand in that moment but you are very right that it would not have been SILENT support and I guess it might have complicated matters if Daniel mouthed off to Le Prince. Maybe they'd throw him down in those terrible dungeons they're building. (Fandom we need to talk about those! WTF IS THAT.)
It just bums me out that we get so little of Daniel in the final two books, when he's finally sane again and with Armand, and we see zero of it. Also dude would have had so much to say about the aliens, I just can't. MISSED OPPORTUNITY. But that is what fic is for. But like at least put him in the freaking mural, I mean, come on!
