headcanons for klaroline being endgame and lizzie josie and hope being sisters?

A/N: I just want to carify this is far far away from any universe where I ship Hizzie or Hosie.

The Mikaelsons happily welcome the three newest members of their family.

Especially after seeing how happy Klaus was on his and Caroline’s wedding day.

Hayley and Caroline patch all the high school drama up and often invite each other to have drinks as they bond over how much of a handful Klaus can be.

Meanwhile Klaus and Alaric refuse to be within less than ten feet of each other.

But Klaus loves the twins like they're his own.

The twins just admire Hayley.

And Caroline assures Hope that she’s not trying to replace her mom.

Freya loves to help Josie with her magic.

She’s also the one to sit down with both her and Lizzie to talk about the merge when they’re old enough.

Rebekah thoroughly enjoys taking Lizzie shopping any chance she gets.

Partly because she loves hearing all the gossip and shit talking, especially about Dana.

Neither Hayley, Marcel, or the rest of the family mind looking after the girls when Klaus and Caroline are away.

Klaus has offered the twins their own rooms but they’re content with sharing.

The girls make for an interesting dynamic.

“Lizzie, I told you to stay out of my room!” Hope angrily barges into the twins’ room.

“I didn’t go into your stupid room.”

“Then how did my headphones go missing?”

“Sorry,” Josie says shyly, putting her book down. “I lost mine so I borrowed them.”

Hope definitely has a bit of a bias towards Josie.

They just get along easier.

On the other hand, she and Lizzie are always bickering and throwing remarks at each other.

And with the amount of peeple who’ve tried to come after Hope, Lizzie has definitely told her “I too find your existence annoying.”

Klaus wants to rush to every argument he hears but Caroline says that they need to work it out themselves.

Lizzie and Hope constantly throw the “you’re not my real sister” card at each other.

Until Hope accidentally takes it too far and says “And Caroline’s not even your real mom!” in front of Caroline and instantly regrets it.

Klaus scolds her for it and tells her to apologize.

Since Hope doesn’t rely on Alaric to fulfil a father figure role, his relationship with the twins is healthier.

But with them slowly spending more and more time in New Orleans, that mixed with his resentment towards Klaus, Alaric starts drinking.

Which Caroline finds out when the girls get back and Lizzie goes straight to her room without saying a single word.

“Dad’s drinking again,” Josie says before going to cuddle with her sister.

Klaus is ready to tear him a new one but Caroline beats him to it.

Then she files for full custody.

Hope tries to comfort them with ice cream but just ends up joining the cuddle session.

There’s one time where Klaus finds Lizzie in the aftermath of an episode and rushes to make sure she’s okay.

“Do you think I’m broken?”

His heart aches at the question, “If you’re broken then are a mosaic, your imperfections are what make you beautiful.”

And he later hangs up a mosaic above her bed.

That was their bonding moment.

For Klaus and Josie’s moment, it was after she went dark.

She isolates herself for a while until Klaus comes to comfort her.

And makes a joke about her still being a saint on her worst day compared to Elijah on a good day.

Caroline and Rebekah bumping heads when it comes to planning events, like the twins’ birthday party.

Family vacations.

Klaus pushing for Hope to tag along on family excursions.

Klaus being equally over protective of the twins’ dating life.

Josie, as embarrassed as she may be, tries to get her partners to give him the benefit of the doubt.

Lizzie on the other hand decides that sneaking around is the better option.

Until she gets caught.

“You’ve been sneaking out?!” he says, catching her climbing out the window.

“And skipping class,” Hope chimes in.

Which leads Lizzie to bring up Roman to throw some heat off of her.

So I knew hizzie was never gonna be canon but I AT LEAST wanted some bread crumbs of them and no mizzie to happen because they haven’t had any good development besides Lizzie appreciating MG more which is like the bare minimum lmao. Episode 18 would show where the ending is leading so I was not hyping up the heart to heart very much and I was correct not to because it was just talk about MG who is STILL simping over Lizzie after 4 seasons and her liking him but still turning him down 💀

I wanted a few more Hope and Lizzie scenes but damn this episode left us bare and I wonder if it’s going to continue this way for the last two episodes which I deeply hope not, at least not without a proper goodbye from the two. Possibly episode 16 was Hope’s apology to Lizzie and possibly their last good interaction before the end which is disappointing so I hope not but my expectations are never high for Legacies.

I’m sad it’s departing but also kind of relieved cause i apologize but the writing is kinda booty for this show. It’s probably better it ends not on a huge “what if” but a good set of ambiguity or at least hope for the future. I’m really gonna miss it and the TVD so I hope it gets renewed but again expectations are never high. Maybe if I still have brainrot I’ll write some hizzie fics for moments I would’ve liked to happen or how the two could’ve grown closer from their development together.

I need Hope to catch the Mikaelson's up on all the tea of what shes been up to and when she mentions Lizzie being sire bonded to her, they all just look at each other and mouth "who wants to tell her." Because clearly she doesn't know about vampiric sire bonds, so of course it ends up being Rebekah who excitedly moves over to sit next to Hope and just bombards her with questions about Lizzie.

A lot of people think that hosie is the romantic ship and hizzie is the sisters ship but as far as I’m concerned it’s the complete opposite, I do not feel any romantic chemistry between hope and josie whatsoever like it feels like they’ve had no real connecting moments other than s2 finale and the hospital therapy box ep but the therapy box is literally fake and hope was just being classic hope getting her hero on with the s2 finale like it’s her job to save everyone all the time, other than that I can’t personally think of any legit deep connection moments they’ve ever had, hizzie has had a shit ton that wasn’t hope just getting her hero on and they actually go to each other for stuff all the time but hosie rarely go to each other for things in comparison, like I feel like hope and Josie just ran in completely different circles, Josie was always caught up with her love interests (Penelope, Landon, Jade, finch), I feel like one of the biggest reasons Josie was ever even involved as much as she was with hope was because of Lizzie like if Josie and Lizzie weren’t sisters and didn’t room together I’m almost certain there’d be an absurdly small amount (bare minimum) of Josie being involved/around hope

Also for the millionth time them having crushes on each other when they were little is literally so invalid for so many reasons, hope said she had a crush on Josie when she was 14 right? Well if the saltzmans are two years younger than hope that means either hope was starting freshman year and they were starting 7TH GRADE or hope was in 8th grade and they were in 6TH GRADE, 2 years isn’t shit when you’re older but when you’re that young it makes a HUGE difference and honestly it’s low key high key kind of fucking creepy of hope back then, ALSO if you actually still find any of your middle school crushes attractive and aren’t completely repulsed by them and yourself for liking them in the first place and being mortified over your taste in people back then, you’re not part of the majority population

Hizzie prompt: lizzie doesn't remember hope, but feels the need to sleep in hopes room every night hope has been gone. One night, hope sneaks in to the school, and sees lizzie sleeping in her old room and offers some words of advice for some comfort.

(okay, so I’m making this a smidge less fluffy cuz it feels more in character but it basically complies with the general idea)

Looking back you might think that it was adorable. That Lizzie started sleeping in Hope’s old room because there was a hole in her life where there should have been memories of Hope Mikaelson, and ‘awww, isn’t that sweet, Lizzie missed Hope even though she couldn’t have identified her in a lineup’.

No. Gag.

That’s not why it happened.

The truth was that Lizzie didn’t miss Hope. Like literally every other person on the planet, Lizzie didn’t remember squat. There was no urge to look over her shoulder to Hope’s old desk when she was in class, with a half thought joke masquerading as a semi-insult.

Hope wasn’t like a missing limb.

This might have been different if the person who jumped into Malivore had been Josie. Honestly, if it had been Josie, Lizzie would probably have ended up with a nervous breakdown that she wouldn’t have been able to explain.

Not that that would have been different from any of her other breakdowns.

Anyway. Doesn’t matter, it hadn’t been Josie. Thank god.

There was a hole though. Just not the kind that was easy to notice.

Like that she didn’t remember what made her start to dislike Landon Kirby in a way that was almost like an Olympic sport. But did Lizzie really need a reason to be rubbed wrong by a cheap, knockoff-brand hobbit?

Or that she still had ‘not being good enough’ daddy issues. So she guesses it’s high time she admits that those don’t actually have as much to do with Hope herself as she’d like to pretend.

But let her repeat herself; doesn’t matter.

The facts were this. Lizzie didn’t remember Hope. Lizzie didn’t miss Hope. And after Lizzie came back from her summer in Europe with mom, she started suffering through chronic insomnia that only eased up when through her nightly wanderings around the school’s living quarters, she eventually ended up inside an unused student bedroom that happened to have once belonged to Hope.

Yeah, Lizzie lived through it and she doesn’t get it either.

It’s not like she and Hope had been friends for that long before there was suddenly no one she’d ever personally known by that name. She hadn’t actually even spent that much time in Hope’s room. And there weren’t even any personal belongings for Lizzie’s mind to have snagged on to - thanks dad, or no, thanks person with a martyr complex who apparently had time to arrange their own erasure but didn’t have the good sense to call Lizzie, so that she could have yelled some sense into them.

Whatever. She’s over it.

Hope wasn’t a missing limb. But - and Lizzie kind of hates admitting this - Hope might have been a very insistent itch that Lizzie couldn’t quite reach.

Maybe it was the Gemini witch within her that was behind it. Hope had spent a lot of time in that room, especially back when she’d been at her most antisocial. She’s also an incredibly powerful tribrid who probably left traces of her aura, or essence, or magic - or whatever else you want to call it - in that room.

Maybe it was because of that, that being in her room was the closest Lizzie could get to scratching that itch.

Either way. It helped.

And wouldn’t it be nice if all this could be a very embarrassing secret that no one would ever have to know about? Yeah, guess who just had to go and break into Salvatore Boarding School because they were feeling homesick?

Maybe next time Lizzie’s going to throw herself into the pit of existential doom? If only to erase that night from living memory.

Right. Back to the story.

Lizzie was sleeping.

And then suddenly she was woken up by someone tripping over one of the pillows that Lizzie had thrown on the ground - because honestly? who needs five pillows on their bed?

“Shit!” the ‘someone' cursed as Lizzie swung up into alertness.

There was a spell already on her lips when Lizzie realized that the person on the floor was a girl who looked somewhere her own age. There was even enough illumination from the window, and the nearly full moon outside, that she actually saw the girl’s individual eyelashes.

Don’t ever tell her Lizzie said this, but Hope makes an annoyingly powerful first impression.

“Who the hell are you?” Lizzie asked.

The girl, who Lizzie didn’t recognize at the time, flinched.

“No one,” she said, slowly getting back on her feet and stepping back.

“What are you doing on school grounds, No One?” Lizzie asked, eyes narrowed for anything threatening.

“I... what are you doing in this room?” she threw back.

Yeah, nothing suspicious there. Honestly, how Hope kept her secret as long as she did Lizzie will never understand. She was clearly terrible at acting.

Lizzie felt her eyebrow rise higher, because - what?

“I’m Hope,” said the girl who was now again a person Lizzie personally knew by that name, - if only as someone who practiced breaking and entering at maybe the worst place in Mystic Falls to practice breaking and entering in.

“Oh,” Lizzie relaxed, “you’re the girl who tried to hit on the hobbit, my sister hates your guts.”

“I didn’t-”

“Whatever. You really shouldn’t be here,” Lizzie interrupted her. Talking about the backup Frodo was already boring her.

"Is this... your room?” Hope asked, her eyes running over the bare walls and the empty tabletop of the study desk that was in each and every bedroom in the manor.

“No,” Lizzie said defensively, even though she had no idea why the feeling had struck, “I couldn’t sleep.”

Hope raised a very pointed eyebrow that felt like it was mocking Lizzie’s earlier use of one, and ran her eyes over Lizzie’s form in the bed. It made the little hairs on the back of her neck raise into goosebumps, and something about it felt so uncomfortably personal that Lizzie scooted to the edge to sit up properly.

And then she did something that Lizzie really, really wishes she hadn’t done.

She said the truth.

She blames it on the insomnia.

“I haven’t been able to sleep in literally any other room. It’s- it’s like I’m missing something but when I’m in here I feel better.”

Shut. Up. Past. Lizzie.

Hope smiled at her with a wide, sweet smile like Lizzie had just said something incredibly nice to her. It left Lizzie blindsided and unexpectedly breathless.

But just so we’re clear here, it wasn’t the smile. Lizzie isn’t one of those poor unlucky idiots who can’t resist that patented Hope Mikaelson grin. Just because it makes Hope look like she’s made of sunshine and starlight, all at the same time, doesn’t mean Lizzie’s ever been the kind of person to fall for it.

Because Lizzie knows better.

Lizzie knows better when she actually remembers that she should know better.

Someone kill her.

“I’m sure whatever it is you’re... missing, won’t mind you sleeping here then,” Hope said a few moments later, still visibly fighting a smile, because she was clearly the worst and-

“Lizzie?”

“What?” Lizzie snaps mid rant clenching the butter knife in her hand.

“Can I have the sandwich now, please? I’m hungry,” Pedro says, staring up at Lizzie from his place on the countertop, legs swinging in what she knows is a sign of trying to keep himself awake.

She looks down at the tomato bacon sandwich she finished making five minutes ago and awkwardly puts the knife in the sink.

“Right, sorry,” Lizzie says and passes Pedro the late night snack “here.”

“Thanks,” he says and bites into it.

“Don’t mention it,” Lizzie says and then reiterates the point with additional weight on the words, “really though Pedro, don’t mention it.”

Pedro looks up at Lizzie and still with his mouth full of food promises “I won’t.”

how do you feel about a hizzie sire bond storyline? ik you hated it for DE but could the writers do anything to make you enjoy it for hizzie?

what? i love de. never dissed de. me and de are best friends!

no, but. i’ve been contemplating it because i’m usually team “be pleasantly surprised” rather than shoot high and be disappointed/embarrassed - but i figured it... possible since they chose to have lizzie drop the L-word right before turning her, presumably with hope’s blood in her system. i don’t think it’ll be written similarly to DE though, so whether i like it or not, it probably won’t have anything to do with that.

DE’s was heavily centered on damon angsting about not being able to “trust” elena’s feelings, both in the show, and by julie herself constantly talking about how ~upsetting~ that aspect was. hope’s humanity is off (which is kind of my main saving grace), so i don’t think that’ll be a problem, lmfao. hope/lizzie also seem isolated for these next couple of episode, so i’m hopefully not going to have to deal with the contradiction of chrs knowing the sire bonded can’t really consent but also... shaming them for their actions at the same time??

i said it following some conversations floating around after the western episode, that if they were going to introduce one, i would rather it be with a chr there will be a noticeable difference, at least. so long as it’s not treated as something that can be brushed aside/ignored in a physical/sexual context... ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

in any case, i’d still prefer it be wrapped up quickly! give me the gold star of being able to say it happened, then let’s move on, lmfao.

On the rating of 10, how do you rate the writing of each legacies characters, why and who deserves better? What aspects should be improved?

I updated some of the opinion for clarity and also added Finch because I forgot her originally

I'll just make a list and go down it and I'm sorry in advance I love responding but I'm horrible at grammar/punctuation and also I might tend to ramble but I'll try to be as concise as possible. It should also be noted anything I state that might possibly relate to ships is a personal opinion and I have nothing against any ships/characters gay or straight/Good or Evil. However would it be said that I definitely mean more towards the gay/Badass with a Golden heart side of shipping with any fandom.

Hope Mikaelson- As of now I would rate her writing at about a 6. And I only say that because as we know a majority of her characters personality slightly has always but this season especially related to her relationship with Landon. And I wish we would see the Badass Tribrid Hope we've been promised since season 1 I mean sure there are no lack of examples of her bravery and martyrdom. But I am tired of her always feeling down on herself and like she's a cosmic mistake when it has literally been proven by Lizzie's wish in season 1 that their life would be infinitely shittier without her. What they can do to improve it is have her focus on friendship and herself instead of trying to always focus on Landon. She deserves more than just to be a boy obsessed character I mean she's the daughter of Klaus F****** Mikaelson for Pete sakes she literally descends from the most powerful supernatural family ever to exist and is rightfully the most powerful being on the f****** planet.

Note: I found Handon's relationship cutesy in season 1 but now not so much especially since they use him dying as a plot line way too often it just doesn't have the same effect that used to***

Josie Saltzman-As of now I would rate her writing at about an 8. I like how her character at least for a while had her own storyline going off the mystic falls High School plotline and how she lived with delena because it was a good call back for us TVD fans but I think it could have definitely lasted longer than a few episodes. We all know it was just used as a lot device to introduce Ethan as a series regular and as an introduction for her to Finch's character. But overall I feel throughout the seasons she has experienced at least some personal growth as exhibited even in 3x15 where she admitted she has to stop saying sorry especially to Lizzie for not always jumping to do what she needs / she wants all the time. Whereas before Android AU version aside because she literally had to do what she was programmed to do. She has an exhibited that she's starting to do what she needs to do for Josie before others most of the time or she's trying to. And as far as her relationship to Finch well I don't see them being endgame I have no problem with them and I do see Finch being one of her major loves of the series that teaches her whatever lesson she needs that leads her to whoever her endgame love is. With her relationships I will always miss Posie and I wish they could get Lulu back at least just for one episode. Also I feel these last two episodes of the girls being a trio they have a really Been serving Hosie with the looks but also I feel like in general Josie and Hope have been really in f****** tune. In conclusion I just don't know because Kaylee's acting skills and just turning general I would rate a billion she could choke me and I would literally thank her.

Lizzie Saltzman-as of now I would rate her at about a 7. I feel as if she has had great personal growth over the series and hell even this season. I also like hell despite everything in her life especially her eternal struggle with her mental illness she is always trying to do better and not just for herself but mainly for others and some people would say that's not good but I like it because it truly shows what she stated in 1x03 during the gargoyle incident that she never wants to be the bad or evil one. She has all this s*** thrown at her being called broken, being seen as the lesser than sister, and not to mention the absentee parents. Yet through all this she manages to only get stronger especially once she builds a genuine friendship with hope. However what I will say is that I don't like the regression of her friendship with Hope in correlation to her progress of especially her mental illness. And what I mean by that is it's almost been shown that once she had even the seeds of a true friendship with Hope that Hope would never give up on her hell not but like even an episode or two into their newly formed friendship in S1 Hope went to Josie when she Lizzie was on the verge of a bad episode and "sweet" Josie was basically like fuck her she needs to fall on her ass for once and Hope ass was appalled y'all she was like Lizzie can't control her brain chemistry and was so defensive/protective it's like once they got over that hurdle that mainly Josie gave them everything clicked into place and they were almost instant bff's. So for them to do so good in season 2 and then it seems like it showed especially in these last several episodes black magic incident to bring Landon back aside that Lizzie's old issues of resentment and jealousy towards hope are starting to come back and I don't like that because the more Lizzie had A Friend in Hope it seems like the better she got at coping and doing better mentally.(sorry if this has been a confusing several sentences). And no by that I do not mean that Lizzie is mental progress has solely relied on Hope but I do think it has helped significantly for her to have a true friend. Also let it be noted now out of every ship though I should Hosie too HIZZIE is my #1 ship on Legacies two phenomenally beautiful woman also the enemies to friends to lovers trope *chef's kiss*which might be plausible as I always wondered what they meant in the Hosie crush confession scene of season 1 when Josie said that she always went after everybody josie liked hinting that Lizzie might be at least bisexual or maybe that was just what Josie perceived at like 12/13 years old. Also on the note of relationships Mizzie was a cute concept at the beginning but I do love the fact that MG is finally finding himself and standing up for himself but he did also do it and I kind of a******-ish way towards Lizzie. And that's all I can say for her. Actually I could probably write a novel on this women and also Hizzie but I won't lol.

Alaric Saltzman- As of now I would give him a rating of like a 4 . In the last several episodes I think he's been trying to make progress at being a better person but that's about all I can say I'm not an anti. But he definitely will not be winning the father of the year award anytime soon and like many people have pointed out he was a great guardian to Elena and Jeremy so he has the potential in parenting he obviously just ain't using it or lost it over the decades. I don't hate him but I do believe they're doing a discredit towards the better man he was in The vampire Diaries especially at the beginning.

Landon Kirby-His writing is like a 3. He is just there to be arm candy for hope. Until the last couple episodes where he became this for once realistic not optimistic hardened badass he literally brought nothing to The season other than someone for Hope to obsess over. And to be someone that they repeatedly kill for shock value even though it literally shocks no one anymore. I don't hate his character but he doesn't tickle My Fancy as much anymore. His character has a lot of potentialy especially if they ever bring back in his Phoenix side and truly explore it beyond his almost endless ability to revive and being a "Bird Boy" lol. I mean truthfully they're doing him a disservice Aria is a phenomenal actor who could take his character places if they just let him be more than a basic ass plot device. Also can we talk about how gorgeous of a man Aria is especially in these last few episodes looking love it and fine as f***.

As it has become apparent to me I ramble too much and I just don't have the capacity as it is now almost 1:00 in the morning my time to do anymore characters in depth so I will be doing a simple excerpt for the rest now that I have done the main 5 people.

Kaleb Hawkins- His writing is a 8. I do like how he's coming to himself over the years and is a a right hand man to Alaric now instead of being just a uncontrollable vampire(the only hate on this part not towards Kaleb but Alaric is that it shows he will virtually mentor/uplift almost any teen that ain't his own daughters). Though in my opinion he always kind of had a point on some things especially about the hypocrisy of Alaric in season 1 especially on the bmood drinking thing. Him and Mg's relationship is awesome I'm glad they made up in the last episode and our brothers again. Also I was rooting for him and Cleo I think they would be a cute little couple. Also I need his backstory immediately especially after saying to Cleo the last time he was vulnerable he died I need to know how he turned.

Milton Greasley(MG)- His writing is a 9 the season. I say that because he is really came into his own and stopped being the punching bag. Though I think the idea or used to think at least that him and Lizzie would be cute together I am proud of him for standing up to Lizzie finally even though I liked him always being there for her I was tired of him being a fallback for her when it didn't work with whoever however I do think he could have went about the rejection a little bit gentler especially with how he knows of Lizzie's emotional problems. And don't even get me started on Alyssa that was just a disaster that should have never even been brought to fruition her cheating with Jed was probably the best thing that could have happened. I liked his little side adventure with Ethan though I do think they could have wrote it a little better I was sad when he had to compel the memories away like they still could have been friends he just couldn't have known about the supernatural stuff also I'm still not convinced Ethan won't become supernatural later in the series if he stays on. And that's all I have to say on that one love my baby.

Jed Tien-His writing I can't really give a writing I don't think it's horrible but I do think overall they could give him a better plot line as a series regular other than just being used for the comical relief eye candy/mentioning how he's the alpha. Though it was funny the whole pool tournament to decide who was alpha will Finch was just exactly that so bad it was laughable. However I do respect the fact that he even admitted to her that he knew she threw the game and that he is a genuine man of his word and has become better over the series from like this dumb jock stereotype to this genuine dude the Alyssa incident aside. He is a cinnamon roll and I will protect him at all cost.

Ethan- Again as he just became a series regular this season and barely showed up in his premiere season. I will not be rating him in any traditional sense. His writing is not totally horrible I liked his adventures with mg they could have been written better and they still could have let him be MG's friend without supernatural knowledge instead of compelling the friendship completely away. And I am still not convinced he will not become supernatural in some way depending on how long he stays in the series truthfully it's actually almost inevitable unless they go the whole route of making him the Matt/Token Human of the show which I really hope they don't I mean he can stay human but don't make him a supernatural hater.

Cleo-her writing is 10. I say that because she has been a phenomenal character and I've never seen the actress before but she is obviously phenomenal as well. I like her whole connection to Malivore and how it's a legitimate one that seems to be interwoven with the story that's already been presented and add something new. I also like how she tried and really wanted to genuinely be friends with all the characters especially hope but at the same time she was also very realistic and new probably and truthfully the only way for Malivore to be defeated was for Hope to Go full Tribrid and she wasn't above actually trying to murder hope to save herself and just get rid of Malivore which I can't blame her.

Malivore-after the end of season 3 / the first couple episodes of season 4 which were supposed to be the original ending to season 3 I better never hear the name again I am so tired of it this should have ended like at least a season ago at this point it's dragging on. This was supposed to be a monster of the week type of series which is okay me personally I have always appreciated having one big bad of the season and then a couple of minor baddies that get their characters arcs and take a few episodes to defeat or something as like a B or C plot. Point being is that this character and plot line has gotten stiff as can be. To be honest I think half of us aren't even here for plot line anymore we just want to see which of our ships get together.

Finch-I am loving her character and I do think she's cute with Josie. Also I stan anyone who is a sarcastic b**** Queen. I think it's nice how her will backstory was different than the traditional one but also I hated how sad it was like she literally didn't even know what she was doing. Though I will say calling Lizzie the "evil" twin that she can fight me because you don't talk about my blonde cinnamon roll like that is based on one impression from something that was only meant and done out of a good place and Lizzie's heart trying to find out her backstory. But other than that I have no real qualms with this character and it is too early to have a real in-depth analysis/opinion of her.

Lizzie could not say she was a jealous person. Most of the time. Because she’s pretty and talented and smart. Why wouldn’t people be drawn to her? Why should she be insecure? No, Lizzie couldn’t say she was a jealous person.

Most of the time.

But Hope is also pretty and talented and smart and everyone always falls for her. It’s not a big deal at first. Not for Lizzie, who knows that Hope chose her. Who knows that not anyone is good enough to even warrant Hope’s time, no matter how kind she is to everyone. But. . . some guy is talking to Hope. It doesn’t matter. It shouldn’t matter (Lizzie tries to tell herself this) because they don’t know him. He isn’t anyone of importance. Just some guy in the coffee shop in Mystic Falls.

But he’s got brown hair and is attractive and has a football jersey on and he keeps touching Hope and she keeps smiling and it just pulls at something deep within Lizzie. She can’t stop herself from walking over and wrapping an arm around Hope’s waist as she smiles prettily.

“Hey.” she says to Hope, then holds out a hand to the man. “I’m Lizzie.”

“Ethan.” he shakes her hand and smiles warmly, taking a step back as he notices the arm Lizzie has around Hope.

“What are we talking about over here?” she glances between them. Hope rolls her eyes.

“We were just talking about this years football match.” Hope says. “I was at Mystic High last year but this time we’re going to be playing against each other.”

“Speaking of which,” he looks at his watch and taps the top of it. “I should be getting to practice. I’ll see you two around!”

He smiles widely at the both of them and then heads off. Hope waits till he’s out of earshot before she turns to Lizzie and crosses her arms. “What was that?”

“What was what?” Lizzie feigns innocence.

“You were jealous.” Hope smirks.

“Of him? Please.” Lizzie shakes her head.

“You were! And you had to come over here and scare him off.” Hope playfully punches her on the arm.

“Fine. I was a little jealous. But he should know that you’re taken.” Lizzie points out.

Hope steps into Lizzie’s space and wraps her arms around her, leaning back a bit to look up at her. “So I’m yours, is what you’re saying.”

“Damn right.” Lizzie kisses her on the nose. “And don’t you forget it.”

Legacies ships ranked by my personal opinion

15. Hope x Roman- okay he was part of a group to kill her mom, and was supposed to seduce her, and i’m glad he’s redeemed himself but you can’t fix a relationship built on that kind of lie

14. Lizzie x Sebastian- I have not liked them from the start, he just lied to her too much and then tried to turn her into a vampire and yes, he heroically sacrificed himself but I could never been into that

13. Josie x Jade- Literally, no idea why people are so into them, we’ve barely seen them together and I didn’t really love any of their scenes.

12. Lizzie x Rafael- I love Lizzie, I love Raf, I do NOT love Lizzie and Raf. He wasn’t ready for a relationship, she was not in a place to talk about his emotions, they both used each other. . . they are better apart.

11. Alyssa x Jed- I don’t really have strong feelings about them, but I liked seeing how Alyssa had humanized Jed a little

10. Alyssa x Kaleb- This came out of no where and I also don’t really care about it. Tbh they are only on here cause I felt bad that Kaleb wasn’t on this list

9. Josie x Hope- I mean, I get it, I do but also .. . I really am . . .not super invested in their relationship. I do like them in an ot3 with Landon a lot though.

8. MG x Kym- MG has amazing chemistry with everyone, it’s crazy. He and Kym were super sweet and I’m sad we didn’t see more of them. However, his heart eyes for Lizzie were still strong during s2, so it felt unfair to Kym.

7. Hope x Rafael- I love their scenes together, I do, but it feels a little one sided. Their chemistry is off the charts but if they got together, it would destroy Landon. Anyways, rip but alternate version of Legacies could have really made these two work.

6. Josie x Penelope- So their chemistry was off the charts and their love for each other incredibly apparent but Penelope didn’t respect Josie’s wishes and bullied her sister. They have potential to become epic if Penelope comes back and I’ll always love the scenes between just the two of them, but the overall context of their relationship never worked for me.

6. Josie x Landon- Man, I love a dorky teenage couple who acts like teenagers and learn to communicate. Their relationship was a surprise but it worked. They give me warm and fuzzy feelings still and had the sweetest break up scene. I wish they lasted longer.

5. MG x Nia- Gack, these two were adorable, and they had almost an entire episode where they both helped each other become better people. Truly lots of potential, esp considering they only got one episode. This couple will always have a special place in my heart.

4. Josie x Rafael- I know, I know, how did a couple that had barely any time together get so high on my list? Well, one, they are amazing. Two, I’m bitter and have a long memory. God, when she says, I care too much, it’s kind of a problem, and he’s like, that doesn’t sound like a problem to me, ughhhh, I died. This could have been a beautiful slow burn but I don’t think they even interacted after episode 6 of season 1. I loved that Raf inspired Josie to take charge and she inspired him to connect to the wolves. I thought this was Josie’s best relationship in the show.

3. Lizzie x MG- Wow, if you had told me during season 1 I would have loved this couple, I would have been super skeptical. But strangely, I am very invested in these two. For so long, this was one sided, and felt very childish. But MG really came into his own and became partners with Lizzie and she is finally willing to reexamine her relationship with MG. He loves how chaotic and take charge she is and she truly loves how open and giving he is. They balance each other surprisingly well and I really would love to see them in a long term relationship. (also she renamed him and wow, I love that)

2. Lizzie x Hope- I don’t think I realized I’m a Hizzie shipper. I swear, I did not even make this list thinking they would be in my top 5 but they feel right. I love the trope of defrosting the ice queen and I love that they were like, enemies but it never felt like bullying, it felt like a rivalry of sorts. S2 they stepped UP. I mean,their bond is so strong, they had so much screen time together, their chemistry if off the charts. . . All my favorite Lizzie scenes in s1 were with Hope. I love them reexamining their past, I love their banter, I love the trust they have in each other . . . Yeah. I’m not holding my breath but I’d love them to be canon.

1. Hope x Landon- This might make me basic but I can’t bring myself to care. These two had me from the start. I think it was how vulnerable they got with each other. They have this . . . openness, even when Hope is mad at him. And this pull towards each other. . .And seeing them learn to be even more open and honest is so lovely to me. Also, the fact that they just, hold each other so often. Man. I just absolutely adore them. She makes him stronger, he makes her more open. . . It’s really beautiful.

Okay, Hope would be the one to root for Penelope because she could see that even if her methods were questionable at best, she obviously cares about Josie more than anything, and she can see that Josie loves her too, and she thinks that’s one of the most important things in a relationship. You can get through conflicts, but you can’t fake feelings and get a good relationship out of it.

But of course Lizzie would fight that, because she hates Penelope so much. She’d probably say something like she’d rather Josie date Wade than her, but her serious argument would be for Rafael because she clearly doesn’t like Josie with Landon much, either. But Raf is the kind of person Lizzie would like to be with, so she thinks that makes him good enough for Josie, too. Her standards are pretty high when it comes to who dates her sister you know?

I feel like at some point Lizzie would threaten to break up with Hope if she ever had a hand in getting Josie and Penelope back together, but she wouldn’t be serious about it lol

🍓 you or your f/o go grocery shopping for the week. what kinds of food are in your cart? (whats for dinner? breakfast? what about snacks?)

I’m not really sure of their general diet since I don’t really have any headcanons yet for what Hizzie likes and also I don’t know a whole lot about Japanese food ahaha, but I do know that their meals are often made up of them experimenting with foods from each other’s culture.

Their kitchen is never without tea, honey, soups, and a variety of other foods to soothe a sore throat. Hizzie likes to make fun of Muse’s iced tea though.

🍳do you and your f/o cook for each other? (whos the better cook? what’s on the menu? if neither of you, what kind of food do you order in?)

Yeah! They cook based on their schedule so that the other can rest a bit. They’re equally good cooks, but obviously they have a bit of trouble getting the hang of food from each other’s cultures.

☕️ what are your mornings like while you’re both at home? (who wakes up first? are you morning people? coffee or tea?)

Mornings are the least favorite part of Muse’s day. They hate waking up early, and since Hizashi teaches first period on most days it means he doesn’t even have much time to cuddle for a bit. That being said, at least it keeps Muse from sleeping in.

Hizzie prefers coffee, Muse prefers tea.

💿 do you have a favorite movie/tv show that you and your f/o watch together? and how about music? (how much do you/your f/o watch tv? how deep into the shows/movies are you? do you both share similar music taste? is it played aloud, or savored quietly? do you sing along or dance?)

Muse doesn’t like to watch tv that much, but Hizzie does when he has the time, or he likes to keep it on just for the noise. They’ll occasional see a movie together or marathon a show they like, which usually spurs an hours to days long discussion about their theories and thoughts on it.

I wouldn’t call their music taste similar, but I would also say it overlaps a lot just because of how broad their tastes are. Muse likes jazz and Hizzie likes rock, but they both love pop and rap, just to name one example. Hizzie likes to play music out loud, while Muse prefers headphones, mostly because they’re a bit shy about sharing their music tastes, but they’ll play music out loud if it’s just around him. They sing and dance all the time! Neither of them care if they don’t sound or look their best, they’re just having fun!

🌨 it’s a chilly snow day! how do you and your f/o celebrate? (do you go outside and brave the cold? are you planning for the holidays? did you dress warm enough, or is someone lending the other a jacket ;•)?)

Well... Muse isn’t celebrating. Because of Muse’s wings and ears, how small they are, and the fact that they’re not used to snow, the cold can actually get potentially dangerous for them. They wear super fluffy ponchos, gloves and beanies over their ears to keep warm, but if they need an extra coat, Hizzie has given Muse his old leather jacket from high school and allowed them to cut holes in it to fit their wings.

Hizzie, on the other hand dresses pretty much the same regardless of the weather. He’s really hyposensitive to temperature and sometimes has to be reminded to wear more or less layers.

🧸 it’s a lazy day, perhaps a rainy one, and you or your f/o are feeling a bit melancholy. how do you cheer each other up? (are you two extravagant or gentle? are you both good with emotions, or does it take patience? is it a time for gifts or affection? )

If Muse is feeling under the weather (pun intended), They’re usually really sleepy, so in order to cheer them up, Muse needs to be kept awake and there’s definitely no one better at doing that than Hizashi. He doesn’t care what he’s gotta do to keep them active. Board games? Cooking? Karaoke? It doesn’t matter. Muse will cheer up once Hizzie’s energy infects them! If that doesn’t work, that means Muse is probably worried, and a patient talk between them can help them clear the issue up.

If Hizashi isn’t feeling great, Muse is always there to remind him that they’re gonna be there for him, even if he’s not his usual hyper self. Maybe that means letting Hizzie sleep in while Muse makes him dinner and grades papers, or maybe it means hugging him while he cries, or sometimes it means trying to excite him again, usually with music or getting him to talk about something he likes.

POSIE / HIZZIE HIGHSCHOOL AU (NO POWERS)

i promised this like ages ago so pls dont hate me but heres 2k of me writing yet another semi fic that started out as headcanons and ended up with me writing a story. (also you can pry cheer captain! penelope park from my cold dead hands) (a huge thanks to @posh-with-2-fields for helping me write this)

hope: big ass loner in school but last year she punched rafael waithe in the face after he harassed a girl (the girl was lizzie Saltzman, whom she is completely in love with) so everyone admires her (the guys are kinda scared of her)

josie: the quiet saltzman twin, really fucking smart. she’s in the school like orchestra thing (school band??) and she plays piano. she also plays in the field hockey team with her twin. (she wants to focus on her music but she’s afraid of what lizzie will say)

penelope park: ur perfect hbic, captain of the cheer squad. super smart and openly gay. (she’s a fucking rebel, can tear you down with her words and all the girls wanna get in her pants)

lizzie saltzman: hbic 2.0, captain of the field hockey team. secretly in love with hope ever since the girl punched raf in the face when he was harassing her in the locker room. she just admires hope from afar bc she’s afraid her reputation will fall if she were to ask hope out

then they have to do a group project (with a partner). Lizzie gets paired with hope and josie gets paired with penelope

lizzie and hope work on the project in the twins room. Lizzie told josie to go to penelope’s dorm (“josie don’t you dare fall for her charms”)

(people say penelope is a player and people know her as a player (surprise surprise shes not)

So, lizzie being completely in love with hope (but still denying it) keeps accidentally flirting with hope and hope being the useless gay she is gets completely flustered whenever she does it. (lizzie keeps touching her and she CANT DEAL WITH THE SOFT TOUCHES)

Penelope and josie meet up to work on the project on days penelope doesn’t have cheer practice (josie loves how seriously she takes being captain, on Fridays she has practice early so they can still work on their project and penelope always tells her how proud she is of the girls on her squad)

(josie is slowly finding out penelope is definitely not the heartless bitch lizzie describes her as) (maybe she is slowly falling for the charm that is penelope park) (maybe she’s okay with that)

on the days penelope has cheer practice she has to walk by the music room to get to her dorm. Since two weeks ago there has been a girl in there playing piano and singing. (penelope first heard her two weeks ago, now she sits against the door every Monday and Wednesday listening to this girl play and sing)

she doesn’t know who the girl is. (the girl locks the door behind her (yes penelope tried to open it once) she might be falling in love with her voice (she tries to find that voice every school day (shes afraid she’ll never find the girl).

At the same time penelope starts to fall for josie Saltzman. Her soft smiles, her willingness to help other people, her terrible jokes (she tells josie they’re terrible, she loves them). She asks pedro (the kid she tutors) if it’s possible to fall for 2 people at the same time.

While they’re working on the project hope and lizzie get to know each other and grow closer. Lizzie tells hope how much she hates the fact that her mom and dad are always travelling, that they never have time for her and josie. Hope shows lizzie the painting she made of her dad (he died 7 years ago, hope still misses him more than anything)

Hope loves how she and lizzie have become friends (it still stings when lizzie treats her as a mere acquaintance when in the presence of her friends, she tells herself that having a friendship behind closed doors is enough (it’s not)

3 days before they have to present the project to their class penelope’s roommate decides to invite her boyfriend over. Josie and penelope cant use the twins dorm either because hope and lizzie are working on their project in there so josie suggests they use the music room. She tells penelope she has a key to that room so she can practice during after school hours. (when josie sits down at the piano and starts playing a quick tune penelope recognizes the song as the same one she heard mystery piano girl play yesterday)

That is the moment penelope park realizes two girls shes falling in love with (the one with the beautiful voice and the one with the soft smiles and terrible jokes) are actually the same girl.

Back at the twins dorm hope and lizzie are sitting on lizzies bed joking around (they finished the project like 3 hours ago)

After a joke hope makes she falls into lizzie and when she looks up lizzie’s face is suddenly very close to hers, she decides to just go for it and kisses lizzie (who is she kidding she has been trying to pick up the courage to kiss lizzie for years (she has been a bit in love with the girl ever since she first saw her at freshman year)

Lizzie kisses back for a few seconds before she suddenly rips herself away and jumps from the bed. And asks hope what the hell shes doing.

Hope is like... i thought you would be okay with this. Lizzie tells her she would never want to date a girl or kiss a girl let alone hope of all people (2 seconds after she says this she hates herself for saying it, it may have something to do with absolute broken look on hopes face)

Hope’s still standing in her room and lizzie doesn’t know what to do (she’s afraid shell break down crying if hope doesn’t leave soon)

Hope is starting to walk towards her so she yells out get the fuck away from me mikaelson (she hasn’t called hope “mikaelson” in weeks, it sounds foreign on her tongue, she hates it)

After hope basically runs out of the door she collapses on her bed silently crying. After a few minutes she hears the telltale sound of josies laugh coming down from the hallway (her heart hurts knowing josie found her person, that she dares to be open about who she loves) she doesn’t want to take her sisters happy moment away so she pretends to be asleep

The following days leading up to the presentation hope somehow manages to avoid every type of interaction with lizzie (one time she literally jumps out of a window to avoid being in the same room as lizzie)

Lizzie tells herself its fine, she tells herself her reputation would have been ruined (she’s not fine, her eyes automatically look for hope in every room and she misses her more than anything)

On the day of the presentation hope walks into the classroom. Lizzie thinks her heart might have skipped a beat (maybe even 3).

Penelope’s and josies presentation is flawless. (lizzie feels a pang when she sees the absolute adoration in both penelopes and josies eyes, she glances at hope, the girl is pointedly staring at the board)

Lizzies and hopes presentation goes off without a hitch, still lizzie feels like her stomach is filled with lead (this may have something to do with hope avoiding all eye contact and her walking out of the classroom the moment the class is over)

After class penelope walks up to josie, building up the courage to finally ask the girl out (at first josie doesn’t understand, “but pen, the project is over, you don’t have to hang out with me if you don’t want to”)

After that penelope just blurts out she wants to take josie out on a date (josie blushes profusely and stammers out a yes). Penelope secretly does a tiny fist pump (josie totally sees it)

They have their first date in the music room (but josie, babe, for me this is the place where it all started) and penelope kisses josie right after josie finishes the song she played when penelope first heard her (you sat here all these days and i had no idea!!)

Its a week after the presentations and hope is still not talking to lizzie (lizzie is starting to doubt if her reputation is worth all this pain) (people are starting to notice her staring at hope all the time too, shes not even sure if that bothers her anymore)

It all comes to head when penelope asks her about hope. (ever since penelope got paired up with josie their relationship has been less strained, now that pen is dating josie they even consider themselves friends)

Lizzie breaks down (penelope freaks out at first and texts josie to come to the twins dorm a s a p) and eventually lizzie tells josie and penelope everything. About hope, about having fallen for the girl, about them growing closer, about hope kissing her. And about lizzie freaking out, being afraid of her reputation falling, and pushing hope away so far shes afraid shell never get the girl back.

Josie tries to talk to her but eventually it’s penelope’s words that stick with lizzie (honestly liz, reputation isn’t important, in 10 years everyone will forget about who you were in high school, especially all these other “popular bitches”, the people who stay with you are the important ones, hope is one of those people)

After this lizzie starts to actually be herself, not the version she wanted to be to stay popular. She sits with penelope and josie (usually mg, kaleb, jed, and landon join)

When one of the players from the football team asks her out during lunch break she finds herself saying no. When he asks why she tells him shes in love with someone else and that this girl is so much better than him. (lizzie later realizes that she basically came out to the whole school, in the moment itself, all she saw was hope mikaelson staring at her from across the room)

A week later Rafael waithe again manages to corner her in the locker room (taunting her about the fact that a date with him will get her straight again)

He starts walking towards her but before he can set 3 steps someone steps in front of him and punches him in the face (lizzie knows its hope, she’d recognize her anywhere)

After Rafael walks away (once again with a broken nose) hope asks her if shes okay (hope is talking to her and lizzie has never been more okay)

Hope starts to walk away (im glad you’re okay lizzie)

Before she can do that lizzie grabs her hand, spins her around and kisses her. Hope stands still for a full 2 seconds (lizzie starts to back away thinking she made a mistake, that she truly went too far, that hope will never forgive her) before she grabs lizzie and smashes their lips together

When they finally catch their breaths (hope has lizzie pinned against the lockers) hope asks her what changed.

Lizzie just tells her she changed (and that someone made her realize hope is worth so much more than a freaking reputation and girls she doesn’t even want to be friends with) (she also tells her shes so sorry for the way she treated hope, that she wont ever forgive herself for doing that)

Hope just smiles and kisses her again (they stay in the locker room so long the janitor has to pull them out of it)

3 weeks later penelope walks away from her cheer practice with lizzie (who just finished her own practice) when they walk through the school they hear music coming from the music room. When penelope opens the door they find josie and hope sitting by the piano. Josie is trying to learn hope a song (even though hope sucks at playing piano)

They both look up at the same time seeing their girlfriends (softly smiling at them from the door opening, wondering how they got so lucky)
