I just learned the cutest thing: some retired sumo wrestlers have found second careers in eldercare. It's an oddly great fit: sumo trainees have to take care of senior wrestlers physically, including helping them eat and bathe, so taking care of an elderly person is not too different. Plus, they have lived an extremely old-fashioned and traditional lifestyle, so they can relate to seniors more easily than average young people. They're trained to be hardworking and respectful, and they're knowledgeable in etiquette and Japanese tradition, all things that endear them to the elderly.
For context, sumo typically retire around 30, with only the top performers remaining in the sport longer. Since most started training at age 15, they have no life or job experience once they leave the sport. Lower-ranked retirees also don't really get any sort of pension post retirement. So they both desperately need work and have very limited prospects. One retired wrestler, Kamikawa Keisuke, realized that he was a natural fit for eldercare for the above reasons, and has since begun employing fellow retired wrestlers at his eldercare centers.

Here's Kamikawa Keisuke at one of his eldercare centers. They appear to be playing rock paper scissors, which just adds to the cuteness.

DP x DC: Ghost x Family
So, back on my cute romcom BS
So the premise. Dani, as Danny's speed grown clone, wasn't the most physically stable. Turns out, it's really hard to speed grow a clone, and even harder when ectoplasm is involved. There's not enough time for the structures to properly stabilize and that leaves the cellular structure pretty weak and prone to breaking down into goo. The ecto dejecto was just a temporary solution and other measures were needed
aka Dani had to essentially grow a body from scratch the old fashion way, so she's now physically her actual age minus a couple months
So Danny, at the age of 20, is the father of a 4 year old Dani and is trying to keep a low profile in Gotham. His and his daughter's existence is still illegal, and being the single father of a 4 year old ghost girl isn't exactly easy. Now Danny has to deal with the very real threat of CPS being called on him by a neighbor, and trying to get Dani into school without either of them having papers for their assumed identity of Danny and Dani Nightingale and money to by fake documents. He'd ask Tucker, but that requires braking radio silence and potentially putting a target on all three of their backs.
Danny, desperate, asks his neighbor Jason to pose as his significant other for a meeting. Jason agrees, but things escalated and frankly he's now emotionally invested and committing to the bit
So now he and Danny have legally been married for about 4 months according to the papers Babs made them. The fake ID, birth certificates, SSNs, and high school diploma for the Nightingales were simple enough for her to do, but man Jason is going to owe her a BIG favor for this.
They move in together, Dani goes to a good private school, Jason is effectively Danny's sugar daddy paying for a sizable chunk of all this, and they are committing to the loving married couple bit, which is hard to do when the new in-laws are detectives
The best part?
Danny has not figured out Jason is the Red Hood, and Jason doesn't know about the ghost stuff. The only one that does? Dani, and she is physically and mentally 4 and watching Jason and Danny fall in love
oh the shenanigans
OR
I've been watching SPY x FAMILY and just need the fake relationship/family turns into a real relationship/found family dynamic. Jason is basically Loid, Danny is pretty much Yor, Dani fills the role of Anya, and uncle Dick is Yuri, except he's doting on Dani.
Dick is a smart man, but I love the headcanon that Jason is his emotional blindspot. Jason? MY Littlewing? He couldn't possibly.

Well what a year that was. and rounding it out with the long awaited finale to the Mob Psycho 100 anime certainly was a much appreciated way to see it off.
Please let me ring in the new year by indulging in some some future musings of the Sprits and Such Consultation staff, past and present.
Serizawa got his high school diploma from night school with flying colours (his mother's very proud), but never graduated from working part time at Spirits and Such. Now that he has his compulsory education complete, he studies subjects he enjoys - discovering that he likes learning really, he just didn't like the kids at his middle school.
Mob, on the other hand, was never too academic but his passion for athletics continues to grow (along with his height, stopping just shy of Serizawa). After high school he goes on to be a non-sponsored semi-professional athlete, working all kinds of odd jobs in the off season. When things get a little too lean, he's always welcome back to the office on an adhoc basis.
Ritsu, ever the overachiever, pursues higher education. Studying to pass the bar (to Reigen's concern) at one of the top universities in the country. A university which Shou may or may not have manipulated into accepting him on as a veterinary student. Despite their different disciplines Shou regularly sneaks into Ritsu's lectures using those powers he 'won't use anymore'.
Teru has no qualms utilising his powers. In addition to his responsibilities as a middle school teacher and in demand private tutor, he runs special afterschool sessions for ESPer children. He aims to establish his own ESPer friendly school one day. He has attended every single one of Mob's competitions.
Tome continued to secretary throughout high school, wheedling her way onto more on location exorcisms. Documenting her many supernatural encounters blossomed into a thriving career as a paranormal investigator, debunking fake phenomena alongside Hoshida Origo as her cameraman and co-author. Her first book was sold exclusively through the 'Spirit's and Such' website.
Dimple becomes the only true full time employee at the office becoming the 'Spirit' to Reigen's 'and Such'. After his and Reigen's mutual possession Reigen developed an ability to call out to Dimple as a means of summoning him. Meaning even when Dimple is enjoying his time visiting Mob, he can get the obnoxious equivalent of a spectral phone call when Reigen encounters a real spook. Dimple delights in ignoring such calls until the very last minute.
Reigen finds out, after a truly mortifying display at the now annual 'Spirits and Such New Year's Hike and Afterparty', that he is missing the enzyme needed to break down alcohol.
Happy New Year

Should I be eating and resting? Yes. Am I? No, so come join me for a dissertation on Tommy Kinard being lonely.
Tumblr media
Edit to add a note since I saw a reblog about it: Tommy has no canonical age right now and Lou is 39, 40 later this year, so that is my basis for saying he’s 39.
Now when I say lonely, I don’t mean that he has no one whatsoever. I can picture him going for drinks with his team or having some Muay Thai buddies that he could call up if he really was inclined. Maybe an old army buddy or two.
But there’s something about Tommy that’s just achingly lonely, both when he was at the 118 and now at Harbor.
Tommy had a broken home, or some other kind of unstable childhood. Maybe his parents split, maybe he was mistreated, maybe he was in the system or was passed around family members. Maybe he was isolated as a child because he was a little overweight (I think Lou said something along those lines) and was bullied. I think Tommy didn’t really have any friends until high school, when puberty hit and maybe he started working out and probably joined the football team. I don’t know if anyone remembers what teenage boys are like, but I can imagine they were the same as they are today back in the 90s/early 00’s. Because around this time, Tommy might’ve started to realize that something was very different about him.
Now this isn’t a meta about how I think Tommy dealt with his sexuality (maybe I’ll do one of those later) but I think he never would’ve risked his football friends knowing even if he himself could acknowledge it, which I doubt. So he messed around, got in trouble with these guys, hung out with the bros, and pretended to be interested in girl talk.
Of course, eventually, his buddies all got girlfriends and he was always the odd one out again.
He didn’t do college. The army was his next step. And I feel like this might have been the first time in his life he wasn’t lonely. He’d learned to blend in by this point and he worked with some great people. But as he started making real friends for the first time, he also started losing them as the war tore them away.
Tommy left the army and joined the fire department. There was an aching hole where the camaraderie of the army had filled previously and with no education beyond a high school diploma, Tommy thought the fire department would replicate that. Not the police though. He’d had enough of guns.
(And ohhhh now so many ideas on his thoughts during the sniper)
But he ended up at the 118 and quickly realized that his team had maybe more of a DADT stance than the army. He realized that he had to put on an elaborate act to fool his fellow firefighters, who had more time on their hands and more prejudice they were willing to wield to pick apart his life. Tommy, who maybe had only just started to acknowledge he felt differently about guys with less panic than before, had no choice but to backslide. He acted and acted and crafted a person he wasn’t until the day that maybe he was. Sal was his closest buddy at the 118 and Tommy had no doubt that Sal would be one of the first to make his life hell. Gerrard seemed to look at Tommy as some sort of mentee. Boxed in by two notorious bigots, Tommy had never felt more claustrophobically alone.
Chim was the first one to reach out a hand of friendship, or at least the first one that didn’t come with caution tape, but he was also an “other” and Tommy, who was confused and afraid and had just had his captain call his bluff on his fake girlfriend, lashed out. Then he allowed Chim in and Chim wasn’t interested in being besties but he was a great drinking buddy and movie buddy and Tommy felt safest around him.
Then Hen came and Tommy watched her get the same treatment he was afraid of. Not that he had to worry about the racism, and he was aware of the privilege, but Hen didn’t exactly hide herself and he watched them bully his lesbian coworker. He let himself get pulled into it all and hated himself for it, but was too cowardly to break away from it. He wasn’t sure why Hen had forgiven him, but she became the only other person on shift he felt even a little safe around other than Howie. But then Chimney and Hen became best friends and Tommy fell to the wayside. They still included him, sure, but they were always a pair and there was something there that Tommy didn’t know but longed for. A closeness he’d never felt.
A best friend. A juvenile idea to him, but one he’d never truly had.
Then Gerrard was gone and Sal got transferred and the 118 moved forward under Captain Nash, but Tommy felt left behind, even in what was the most united A shift team yet. Because he was over 30 and was starting to be unable to ignore everything that he’d had to hide under Gerrard, as he no longer had a distraction from it.
He’d been a pilot in the army, so he transferred to Harbor. And Harbor was great. He wasn’t best buds with anyone (he was starting to think that was never in the cards for him) but his team didn’t carry the same baggage that the 118 had.
So Tommy started to come to terms with himself. He started to date for the first time and came out to his team. And he had several boyfriends, but most couldn’t handle the job or his baggage or the desperate need he had to be wanted. His most long term partner cheated and the one he fell hardest for couldn’t deal when Tommy was injured on the job. Even within his own relationships, he felt like he was destined to stand alone.
Tommy was 39 years old and alone, as always, when Chimney walked back into his life, dragging an adorable and also extremely hot blonde and a stoic brunette that radiated ex military in a way only ex military could know. And then Hen was there and they were trying to rescue their captain and his wife and they clearly loved each other fiercely and like family.
And as Tommy listened, flying through the remnants of a cat 5 hurricane, he thought to himself that he should’ve never left. Simply just never found himself if only that meant being part of the family the 118 was now. However, he knew deep down that he still would’ve been alone and on the outside.
And they rescued the survivors and Tommy thought that was it but then Eddie wanted to hang out. And they liked the same things and had similar experiences and Tommy couldn’t help the hope. Because the loneliness had grown stifling and now he could breathe a little. And then Evan, the cute blonde, wanted a tour of the hanger and he thought that maybe he was being hit on.
And then at the end of it all, Tommy was left realizing that he’d wedged himself between two best friends and that was what happened when he allowed himself to hope. So he went to Evan to apologize. He would get Evan and Eddie to talk to each other and then would fade into the background.
But then Evan was sweet and apologetic and told him that he was part of the 118 family simply by helping them. Tommy couldn’t help it. Here he was, at 39, with a little boy still waiting inside of him to be soothed. And Evan was hot and sweet and Tommy couldn’t help himself.
And he really liked Evan. Evan was adorable. But their first date didn’t go as planned and Tommy knew he was already whipped. So he removed himself before someone could get hurt. Evan deserved better and so did he, even if the loneliness was stifling again.
But then Evan texted him and looked at him with sparkling blue eyes over too sweet coffee and wanted him. Him. He wanted Tommy and to have something with Tommy and he wanted him to come to his sister’s wedding with him.
And Tommy looked at him and saw someone who could finally fill the ache he’d felt his whole life. He saw a man who he knew he wanted to take a chance with. All he had to do was jump.
And he did.
And it wasn’t solved, not immediately and never fully. Too many wounds were left gaping for too long to ever heal. But for the first time in his life, at 39, with the 118 surrounding him and Buck as the sunshine at his side, Tommy finally felt at peace.

the day you kissed a writer in the dark // han lue (tokyo drift)
Tumblr media
summary: she's stood by his side for years. his loyal mechanic, the brains behind his brawn. but she'd be lying if she said that it didn't hurt to watch him flirt with those other women in his club, when he came home to her every night in secret.
bet you rue the day you kissed a writer in the dark, now she's gonna play and sing and lock you in her heart. i am my mother's child, i'll love you 'till my breathing stops.
pairing: han lue x mechanic! reader
warnings: smut, inappropriate use of a drifting car, insecurity and self-doubt, secret relationships, unplanned pregnancy.
author's note: here's something a little different today, lovelies! it's a departure from the usual realm of f1 content i usually bless you all with, but i felt like i needed to do something different to avoid burning myself out, and rewatching tokyo drift gave me the inspiration that i needed :)
she hated the club.
in the back end of her mind, she always resented the mere existence of that secret room leading to han's garage. the fact that he chose to surround himself with women in tight dresses with long legs and perky boobs like he was some kind of yakuza punk.
well, this wasn't crows fucking zero. this was real life.
she couldn't help but draw comparisons between these beautiful girls and herself. as she curled in on herself to duck through the crowd, she frowned at her reflection in the window: her torn up jeans, the grease stain on the cuff of her army-green sweater, the zip barely done up enough to cover up her double-d's, a small nut from her very first car hanging limply from a chain around her neck.
some days, she wondered why han had chosen her of all people.
"sean?" she asked quietly, poking the young american boy in the arm, practically shouting to be heard. "have you seen han?"
sean shook his head. "no, sorry. have you checked the garage?"
"i'm heading back there now. thanks, sean." she sighed, backing out the way that she came, trying not to think about all of the places that her boyfriend could be right now.
the anxiety ate away at her. was he with one of the other girls? one of the prettier, taller, thinner ones? was that why he wanted to keep the relationship under wraps?
was han ashamed of her?
she hurried down the rickety metal staircase, dropping her purse on the workbench as she went, subconsciously placing a hand over her stomach as she thought about the white plastic stick inside the fake leather bag.
they'd been sneaking around for a year, but they'd known each other far longer. she had come to tokyo when she was twenty-one, with a pocketful of cash and a monkey wrench. she had a high school diploma, but that didn't mean much to the rally teams she had applied to work on the pit crews for.
and that's when han swooped her up. when she became the bonnie to his clyde, the mechanic for his little street racing gambit.
that was three years ago. now she was almost twenty-five, he was twenty-seven, and he was in far too deep for them to keep going like this.
she knew why he had to keep it a secret. telling the world that she was his lover would put a target on her back. because that's what happens when you get in deep with someone like dk.
she pulled her hair back with the green rubber band on her wrist, pushing up her sleeves as she reached for a ratchet and approached han's car, the hood already open and ready for her.
working on the cars had always been her safe haven. her distraction from the outside world. fixing something that was broken gave her a satisfaction like no other.
"babe?" han's voice echoed through the garage, and she hated herself for the way that she froze up, fingers tightening around the ratchet. "sean said you were asking around for me? is everything okay?"
she withdrew from the car, slamming the hood down. "you're pushing the car too far. the engine is wearing down, you have to get something stronger. the serpentine belt is at it's brink."
"and that's why you're the brains of this operation and i'm just the pretty boy who drifts." han said playfully, wrapping his arms around her midsection as resting his chin on her shoulder.
"be more careful out there, seoul-oh." she said softly, placing a cold hand on top of his warm one before turning her head and kissing him softly. "i don't know what i'd do if anything ever happened to you."
han spun her body around gently, his hands on her waist as she jumped to perch her body on the edge of the hood, her fingers tangling in his dark, silky hair.
"you don't need to worry about me, sweetheart. i'm going to be okay."
she sighed, lacing her fingers together behind his neck. "where were you, han? wandering around your club with a girl on each arm? a girl that's three times prettier than i am, maybe one who's clothes are a little more revealing-"
"y/n, stop." han said firmly. "baby, you're the only one. my only one." he kissed her on the forehead softly. "i love you. i love you so much that it hurts. i wish i could shout it from the rooftops, but i can't put you in danger like that. i don't want dk to know, because that's a target on your back that i don't want there."
he pulled her as close as he could, arms wrapped securely around her as he leaned down and brushed his lips against hers. "i couldn't live with myself if anything ever happened to you."
the sincerity in the older man's voice was reassuring. but some days, it wasn't enough. she loved him more than words could say, but she was getting tired of being his little secret.
but at the end of the day, it was her bed that he always came home to. his arms she woke up in. his terrible singing in the kitchen while he made coffee with breakfast.
han lue was hers.
she kissed him again, still sitting on the edge of the toyota's hood. this kiss was stronger, harder. with more feeling as she bunched han's sweater up in her fingers, trying to wrestle it off his broad shoulders, his hands gripping her thighs tight enough to make her moan against his lips.
"seoul-oh." she mumbled as han broke away from her, pulling his sweater off the rest of the way before tugging his everlast t-shirt over his head.
they fit together like well-worn puzzle pieces, his lips finding that place on her neck that made her crumble, turned her legs to jelly as he slipped a hand up the front of her sweater, thumb tracing comforting shapes against her stomach as he nipped at her neck, biting down gently. there would be a hickey there in a mere matter of hours.
trailing kisses back up her neck, he gently bit her earlobe before placing one hand on the side of her face to guide her lips back to his, the other hand braced against the hood of the car to hold himself up. she bit down on his bottom lip, wrenching a growl from the back of han's throat.
he pulled away, dropping to his knees in front of the car as his large hands dipped under the waistband of her jeans. after reaching down to untie and kick off her beat up vans, she reached above her to grab the exposed beam in the garage ceiling, pulling her body up and allowing han to pull her jeans and panties down her legs in one fell swoop.
"oh, not on the car, baby. you'll stain the bodywork."
"don't care." han hummed, kissing the soft skin of her thigh. "i can't think of anything prettier than you. on the hood of my car, legs spread wide for me." he mumbled in between kisses, inching ever closer to where y/n needed him most, her arousal dripping onto the cool metal hood of the drift car.
and when his lips touched her throbbing clit, she could have sworn she turned electric, using one hand to brace herself against the car and burying the other in han's hair as she threw her head back in a throaty moan.
"han." she panted, grinding against his face as his tongue licked and sucked at her core. "oh, baby, yes."
han smiled to himself, kissing her clit gently as he held her thighs open with his hands. "still think that i don't find you attractive any more?"
"shut up, please. i need you so bad." she'd barely finished speaking when another low, seductive moan left her mouth. the arm that was holding her body up threatened to buckle underneath her as she tugged on han's hair, urging him to keep going.
han chuckled, the vibrations sending shockwaves through her body as her arm buckled, and she found herself lying against the hood, her head on the windscreen as she bucked her hips, searching for more as her lover tongue-fucked her, her legs thrown over his shoulders with reckless abandon.
"seoul-oh." she whined, clenching her thighs around han's head
"i know, baby." he mumbled softly, kissing her thigh. "you're doing so well darling. come for me."
and that's exactly what she did. with a moan so loud that she was shocked that the patrons of the club couldn't hear it echoing through the garage, she let go, her juices coating the lower half of han's face as he licked her clean before wiping off the bottom half of his face with the back of his hand.
"fuck." he mumbled, standing between her legs and leaning over the car to kiss her. "i can't get enough of you, baby. i think i'm gonna need more."
"oh yeah?" she smiled sitting up slightly, resting her weight on her elbows and raising an eyebrow when she saw the obvious hard-on struggling to break free from the confines of han lue's jeans. "and what do you think we should do about it?"
"back. room. now." he said, softly but firmly, kissing her in between each word as she wrapped her bare legs around his body, allowing han to pick her up and carry her over to the back room, where a double bed was piled high with blankets for the nights where they worked late, or drift races lasted until the mere hours of the morning.
or, nights where neither of them wanted to go home. han was sure that they had fucked on almost every available surface of the garage.
she undid her sweater slowly, revealing the lacy white bra underneath, the makeshift pendant on her necklace hanging delicately just above the hollow of her breasts as she cast the fabric aside, reaching up to snap the elastic band in her hair, letting it cascade in waves down her shoulders.
"you're beautiful, you know that?" he said softly, kneeling on the mattress as he rested one hand gently against her cheek.
she leaned into his touch, reaching up to wrap her slender fingers around his wrist, pressing a soft kiss to the heel of his hand.
she knew she should tell him. han needed to know.
but now was definitely not the time.
not that she could find the words while he kissed her neck, her chest, her stomach, his fingers dancing across her back as he fumbled with the clasp of her bra, erection straining against his jeans.
"han, babe." she mumbled, reaching behind her. "it's been a year now, you should know how to undo a bra, mr. womanizer." she joked, pushing his hands away as she pulled the bra off by herself.
"why would i need to know how to do it when you just take it off by yourself most of the time?" he grinned, standing up to unbuckle his belt.
he started to undo his jeans, pausing halfway as if he had forgotten something before he darted over to the rolling toolbox in the back of the room, pulling a small foil packet out of the top drawer.
fat lot of good a condom would do them now.
not when she was already carrying his baby inside of her.
her body trembled with anticipation as she watched han rid himself of his jeans, the echo of his belt buckle hitting the floor echoing around the room before he rolled the latex sheath onto his thick, hard cock.
god, she was a fool in love. han seoul-oh made her feel every range of emotions all at once.
"seoul-oh." she mumbled, lips against his as he clambered onto the bed, covering her body with his broad one.
"hm?" han mumbled, pressing kisses all over her face.
"i love you, han lue." she said firmly, gently pushing his face away so she could look him in the eyes. "i mean it, babe. you've ruined me for anybody else. you're it for me."
"good, because i don't think i could love anybody else if i tried." han breathed out, kissing her again, the tip of his cock teasing her entrance.
she squirmed under him, a small gasp escaping her lips before she bit down on her bottom lip.
she wasn't going to give him the satisfaction of hearing her beg. that wasn't what tonight was for.
han knew this as well, gently pushing himself inside her. tonight was about more than just chasing a high. for both of them. it was about love, and reassurance, and intimacy.
she threaded her fingers through his hair, whining as han moved ever so slightly, the sensations they both felt sending shockwaves through their bodies.
"seoul-oh." she moaned softly. "please. god, you feel incredible."
"yeah?" han crooned, thrusting softly and barely holding back a moan of his own. "you look so pretty with my cock inside you, my sweet sweet girl."
"just like that." she whined as he thrusted again, bucking her hips into him, trying to take his length deeper. "keep doing that, fuck."
when han's nimble fingers came up grip and massage her right breast, she knew she was a goner, arching her back to drive her body into him with a moan as he kissed her chest.
"you like that, baby? yeah, you love having my hands all over you. and i love touching your beautiful body." han murmured, sucking a hickey onto her collarbone. he could feel himself unravelling, knew that the end was nigh as he moaned against her skin, blindly reaching for her hand.
there were no more slow thrusts as the driver began to pick up the pace, his lover's legs wrapped tightly around him as she moaned his name.
"oh god, han, baby. fuck, keep going." she panted, one hand trailing down her body to play with her clit. anything to get her closer to that release she craved as she whined and squirmed under han's touch.
she'd seen this film before, and she already knew the ending. and the start if the sequel.
"come for me, baby. i know you can take it, just give me one more, okay?"
"han, han, holy shit." she moaned, feeling the coil in her stomach finally snap, her high crashing over her like a wave.
her lover groaned above her, a guttural sound ripped straight from his throat before han gently pulled out of her sensitive body, the evidence of his own peak contained within the clear latex that he slid off his member, tying the condom off in a knot before punting it into the trash can next to his desk.
she pulled the blankets up as han settled in the bed next to her, his warm fingers dancing in gentle circles against her sweaty skin as they laid together in the afterglow, a content look on his face as he kissed her on the forehead.
"seoul-oh." she said quietly, twirling his long, dark locks of hair around her fingertip. "i have to tell you something."
"what's on your mind, pretty girl?" worry creased han seoul-oh's face, a pit forming in his stomach.
he hated seeing her like this.
"i'm pregnant."
han's eyes widened. "what? babe, why didn't you tell me?"
"i've been trying all day. but you've had your hands full with dk and sean and drifting." she said sadly. "but i can't raise this baby with dk breathing down our necks. you need to get out of this life, seoul-oh."
han frowned thoughtfully, one hand resting against the side of her face. "i'm going to be a father. fucking hell, babe this is incredible. i promise you, i'm going to make a plan, and i'm going to get us out of tokyo."
"you know we can't keep this a secret any longer, right? i'm already eight weeks along, once the first trimester ends, i won't be able to hide it."
"you're right, you're right. we'll test the waters. i'll tell sean and twinkie in the morning, see how the news of our relationship goes over with them. i want to keep it from dk until i can find a way to get us out of here."
y/n nodded, lacing her fingers with han's and placing his hand on her stomach. "okay. let's do this thing." she broke out into a smile. "we're going to be parents, han. can't you picture it? sitting behind the wheel of your toyota, with our little gremlin on your lap, teaching them how to drive before they can even walk."
han laughed. "they'll be born with a monkey wrench in one hand and a bag of lays in the other."
"i love you, seoul-oh." she said softly, kissing him gently. "i'm so glad i found you three years ago.
"i love you more, y/n. and i can't wait to raise this kid with you."

Adrian. For fuck sake. You can't tease a death-faking story and then not deliver. Please man, I'm begging you.
this involves more than just my dumb ass, i don’t know how to tell it while preserving the identity of those involved? i’ll give it a shot, i think it’ll be okay
i was a sad, sickly fuck in high school. i completed my diploma through an online program because i had a plethora of medical issues. i was also fairly isolated at the time. didn’t have a lot going on. mentally ill, agoraphobic, the works
but i was also—somehow—a theater kid, and thus knew some of the most extroverted people on the planet. one of them made it her mission to reintegrate my dumb ass into society after many months of isolation, and thus invited me to go out with her and her friends. i was like. sure, whatever. (it took her a while to break me down but that’s a different story)
so she puts me in this group chat. and i meet this girl. let’s call her angela. angela was like. are you—fuck i gotta give myself a fake name too. “are you alex van rosendale?” i was like. “yeah that’s me.” she was like “from fuckface high school? with george glass?” i said “yeah sure am”
she was not normal about this information. i was confused. turns out, though, she was relatively new to the friend group. she was ALSO, crucially, dating a dude who used to have a crush on me (i’m a guy now but i was Girl Presenting at the time) in high school. and by “had a crush on me” i mean “stalked me.” he stalked me. like, he showed up my house to watch me sleep through my window. several times. he only stopped because i threatened him with violence (wasn’t gonna call the cops, we were all poor as fuck, this is the south, acab etcetera)
we met. she looked at me like i was a space alien. i looked at her like she was. a confused person, because she was. i foolishly thought “omg this makes perfect sense, her boyfriend probably said that i was a dumb slut who refused to get with him. or something. who knows.”
well
a few weeks later she says to me “hey can i talk to you”
turns out, for the entire YEAR-and-then-some they’d been dating, this dude pretended i was his dead ex girlfriend. according to him—we dated, we were in love, and then i died horribly in a car accident. he wept over my photos in front of her. he showed her my unused Facebook account that just had, like, one post saying “i miss you” (from when i left school on account of sickness disease). he used my legal human name. the works.
i have no idea how he thought this would not backfire eventually, but after a while, she happened to meet me. through sheer, dumb luck
somehow they didn’t break up over this (bro idk) but they broke up later, thank god. that’s the end of the “some dude faked my death” story but how fucked up is that

In the arms of Jongho, you didn't feel much different than everyone around. And with the flute of champagne in your hand, you honestly felt much much lighter than you initially was when you just arrived.
"Remind me, how did you manage to convince me to accompany you to this event?" You asked before taking a sip of the champagne. Jongho took a sip from his flute as well before answering you, "I promised you that I'll do a Marvel marathon with you," he said, leaning down closer to you, "and that I'll buy your beer for the next three outings." You furrowed your eyebrows and pursed your lips, "I thought you said five," you questioned, recalling what Jongho told you.
Unfortunately, Jongho avoided your question as he perked up and called someone over.
You looked in the direction of the person Jongho called only to see a handsome man, he looked older than Jongho and dressed to the tens. There was an aura of authority around him and you couldn't deny that at that moment, you were attracted to him.
"Seungcheol hyung," Jongho pulled him into a tight one-arm hug before pulling away and introducing you both, "Hyung, I want you to meet my date, (y/n), she's unemployed and drinks like a sailor. (y/n), this is my cousin Choi Seungcheol, he's the VP of another family business and he's finally showing his face after... Three? Four years of being abroad?" Jongho said, grinning proudly at his cousin.
After giving Jongho the stink eye, you faced Seungcheol with the biggest, widest grin you can muster and offered your hand for him to shake, "Don't mind Jongho, he's annoyed that he couldn't actually get any girls to go with him tonight so he decided to be a sore loser about it," you said in a sweet tone. Seunghceol laughed heartily and took your hand in his, shaking it, "Damn, so you're telling me you're just doing Jongho a favour?" he teased, side-eyeing Jongho. The man in question huffed and smack his cousin lightly on his shoulder, "Hey, don't make it sound like I'm such a loser, I could've taken anyone tonight but I wanted (y/n) to mingle with business people!" he defended himself. You faked a mocking coo and pat him gently on the head, "Aww, sure you can, buddy. We're so proud of you," you teased and smirked when you saw his left eyebrow twitch.
Your focus accidentally shifted past Jongho and you couldn't help but swallow the lump that appeared in your throat out of nowhere when you locked eyes with San.
You hadn't seen him since four or five years ago. The last time you both were in the same room was after you both lost your virginity to each other. You remember that day clearly like it was just yesterday. You remember getting your high school diploma and then running away from your friend group and him from his own friend group to have a romantic day to celebrate. It had been in both of your plans to have sex for the first time ever with each other and you both agreed that the perfect time to do it was when you both finally stepped into adulthood. Hand-in-hand, you both spent the day taking pictures, eating, lying on the grass of the Han River next to each other making plans for the future, and come evening, having your way with each other for the first time ever.
Above all, you remembered how San almost choked you to death and then later on, woke up in the hospital with bruises all over your body, unable to speak. You waited and waited but San never came to visit you. Heck, he disappeared into thin air, never to be heard from anymore. Well, not by you anyways. And despite being best friends with his cousin, Jongho, you never dared ask about him because why would you wanna know anything about the man that only gave you pain and didn't even have enough balls to take responsibility?
Immediately, you averted your gaze to look at Seungcheol with a smile, "So, Seungcheol, how good is your drinking skill?"
On the other side of the room, San's palm began to sweat. He had been uncharacteristically jittery ever since he stepped into the hotel parking lot and he didn't know why. Thinking that his meds were wearing off, he took a dose of his heat suppressant but it still did nothing. San thought that maybe he was nervous because of the scale of the party and the guests and heck, even the fact that his grandpa was there.
It didn't even take long for him to spiral out even more when he saw that you had come with Jongho. To be frank, San was so close to leaving earth at that point but Yunho regrounded him by assisting him in talking to the guests who wanted to discuss things with him. Despite the distraction of waves of old men coming up to him trying to ask about his business plan and his feeling over his family's achievement. He never really minded with being the face of the company but at that moment, he wasn't feeling so hot.
Things become even worse for him when he saw you pulling Seungcheol to the side of the bar. WITHOUT Jongho.
"Dude, are you okay?" Yeosang asked, tapping on San's shoulder which made the man jump slightly despite it being a light tap. San's hand instinctively pulled at his collar from discomfort. It took a lot from San to avert his gaze from you and his obviously hot cousin whom he hadn't seen in a long while. Damn it, why is he back now and right when you're finally in the same room as his again?
Although he wanted to say all that, his body was not letting him have his feelings. So San let out an exhale, fixed the lapels of suit and gave Yeosang a tight-lipped smile, "Nothing, can we move from this spot? I think I saw the guy we signed a deal with two years ago," he said, nodding his head to the other direction. Though unsure, Yeosang knew that it was unwise to unload San's feelings at that moment so he just went along with whatever San wanted. "Sure thing, we can- Mingi?" Yeosang turned to look for Mingi only to see the tall man trailing away, seemingly following someone with the tray of sliders. "Damn it," Yeosang groaned, turning to Wooyoung who was making eyes with a hybrid paralegal nearby, "Can you please focus? We lost a guy to food, we need to stay sharp for San," he said. Hearing him say this, San felt bad. He was basically being babysat by his friends and it was humiliating for him. But he couldn't do anything, not when he himself realized that he was not in an emotionally stable state.
With one last glance at your direction, San walked away to circulate the room, hoping that he might get to talk to you again after so long.
You, on the other hand, were trying not to choke on the shot you just downed. Seeing you trying to bite down you grin as some alcohol dribbled down your chin, Seungcheol easily inhaled his own before he pointed at your chin, "No, that's cheating, you're losing like half of that shot just by being clumsy," he stated. You put the now empty shot glass on the table and stared at Seungcheol with an incredulous look, "Excuse me? I downed that one whole shot, you saw me!" you defended. But Seungcheol shook his head at you, briefly taking a moment to flag down the bartender and put two of his fingers up, indicating that he wanted two more shots, "Nope, doesn't count," he smirked. Once the bartender came back with two shots that he placed in front of you both. You took the shot glass that was placed in front of you and swirled it slightly, "Do you do this often?" you asked, peering over to Seungcheol through your eyelashes, "What?" He asked, "Doing shots at parties with a girl?" Seungcheol raised an eyebrow at you and he suddenly repositioned himself, moving so that he was leaning closer to you. The lack of chairs or stools on the bar allowed him to be free with his movement and position. "Girl? No. Pretty girls? Yes," he winked as he took his shot glass and pressed it to his mouth. You shook your head in disbelief, trying to be aloof but the smirk on your lips made it apparent that his words had affected you, "Smooth," you stated simply as you gulp your own shot.
When you lowered the shot glass from your lips, you saw Seungcheol staring at you. It was at that moment that you realized how beautiful his orbs and lashes are. "What?" You asked, feeling awkward all of a sudden, not used to being stared. Well, not used to being stared by a guy as handsome as he anyways. "You got, uh... You got a little something," He then proceed to put his shot glass back on the bar and he gently cupped your chin. Your eyes widened at the sudden touch and your body became stiff.
Just as Seungcheol was about to do something, a commotion broke that snapped you both from being so immersed with each other and made you jump away from each other.
From the middle of the crowd, you can see some people moving around frantically until the people around you stepped to the sides to reveal someone on top of another person. There were several people trying to separate them but the person on top seemed to have the upper hand. It wasn't until the person on top finally lifted his head that you realized that it was San on top of a middle-aged businessman. Your eyes widened in shock and San's too. Maybe it was you imagining things, but you could've sworn that when he realized you were looking at him, San's body relaxed and his hands lost their grip on the middle-aged man. People took notice of that as well and one person took that moment to his advantage. He grabbed San up by the arm and dragged him away, their trail was covered by two more guys as people only started to gather around to tend to the middle-aged man once they were sure that San was no longer around. The area was nothing short of chaos with people running around getting ice and making space, and the whole nine yards. It had started to overwhelm you, to be frank.
Thankfully, you saw Jongho jogging towards you once San was taken away and out and once he got close, he pulled you away to the sidelines. "Geez, I thought that was you," Jongho said, exhaling in relief. Confused, your eyebrows scrunched, "What are you talking about, I was with Seungcheol this whole time. You left me alone with him, you jerk," you scoffed. Jongho simply rolled his eyes and gently wrapped an arm around your waist, guiding you away from the crowd, "Well, for one thing, I know you tend to do stupid shit when you're drunk and you've been inhaling shots like it was fucking caprisun," he stated, looking at you pointedly, "Second, I don't want you to get hurt, okay?" and you smiled gratefully at Jongho's consideration over your safety.
"Can we go somewhere... Less crowded? This feels uncomfortable for me," you smiled sheepishly at him. Lucky for you, he grinned widely and nodded in agreement, wordlessly guiding you away once again. But as you walked away with Jongho, you couldn't help but let your eyes trail over where San and his friend disappeared to. You had never seen him like that but maybe he just had changed over the years. The sweet boy you once knew maybe has been replaced by someone you act without thinking. Whatever it was, you don't think that you liked it. Not even one bit. Especially not when he looked like he was about to hurt someone like he had hurt you a long time ago.

slipping (fic) teaser
a teaser for the upcoming 'slipping' fic next thursday | fem!barry's sister!reader x JJ (canon adopted so all my POC readers are not excluded of course!)
Turning around, back now against the wall, you loop your arms around his bare chest and lean against him, the way a sloth might wrap itself around a tree. JJ sniggers, brushing a hand through your hair. He feels you press a tender kiss to his chest that’s still struggling to catch breath.
“You tired, huh?”
“Mhm,” you hum. “You came at the perfect time. I was like one minute away from throwing that motor out into the marsh.”
JJ quietly grunts as he lifts you up – your legs hooking loosely around his waist – and he walks the two of you back to your bed. The pair of you cuddle up atop of the sheets, letting the few rays of sunlight that leak into the room warm strips of your skin. He finds himself drawing mindless patterns on the skin of your thigh, and you appear to be doing the same on his chest.
“Who you fixing it up for? The motor?”
“You know Mr Lewis?”
“Is that the guy who works at the deli?” JJ checks.
“Mhm. It’s from the delivery van. I told him I’d have it done by Thursday,” you reply, yawning. It’s currently Tuesday.
JJ forgets sometimes that you’re a high school dropout. You’re smart enough to graduate. Easily smarter than him. One time, when he was losing his mind over some algebra homework that his teacher insisted he do (that was, if he wanted to skip out on retaking a year), you had taken the time to explain it to him. The way you laid it out was so simple and easy, like reciting the alphabet or counting to ten. But whenever he asked why you dropped out you would just reel off the usual self-deprecating excuse. That people from your family don’t get high school diplomas - it just wasn’t a thing.
“How’s school?” you ask as if you’d been following his line of thought.
“Boring,” JJ sighs. “Bit more fun now that John B’s back though.”
“Still can’t believe they survived,” you say. Then, shifting to meet his gaze, you add, “not in a bad way, just-”
“No, no, I know what you mean,” he eases. One of his fingers comes to tease at a strand of your hair, smiling down at you. “I mean, I wouldn’t believe it either. Hell, I didn’t, for a while.”
You chuckle at that, nodding, lowering your head back down onto his chest.
This is good. This is good for JJ and good for you. Not only is it good, but it’s fun. A secret is fun. Nobody else knows: not even the Pogues or your brother. These clandestine meetings and rendezvous and unknown dates are the definition of excitement. Nobody knows that JJ spends nearly every night buried in you, and that the unsaved number on his phone is filled with sweet, soft and sometimes sensual texts that came from you. Inside jokes than have accumulated over the seven months of your relationship. Nobody knows that JJ knows Barry’s younger sister as more than just that flippant title. That he knows your favourite television show and your favourite singer, and he knows the way to twist his fingers just right to have you bordering on screaming. He knows what it feels like to have your mouth on him and your teeth biting down onto the skin of his shoulders, but also what it feels like to make you laugh and to see you work. What it feels like to be at the mercy of your stare. He’s lucky enough to be in your light and be acknowledged by someone so strangely pure for all the shit the universe had thrown your way. If JJ got dealt a bad hand, then you got dealt fake cards. But all the darkness and grit hadn’t made you mean or distant. Instead, it made you glow, like tossing logs into an open flame.

Choose-Your-Own Bimbofication #5
(Parts 1, 2, 3, & 4)
Picking through the lavish wardrobe, one outfit calls to you. You realize, pulling out the hanger with a skimpy schoolgirl outfit, that these were your clothes.
You shimmied your skimpy plaid skirt up your thick thighs and over your wobbly ass. There was no getting around it; this outfit was slutty. Was that normal for you? Yes; why did you bother questioning it? All your skirts were this length, letting the bottoms of your caked-up cheeks poke out for everyone to see.
Tumblr media
Wrapping your big fake tits into a tied-off top exposing your midriff made things settle in your still-waking head. You weren't just slutty on an amateur level; you were working last night! Obviously, this was the outfit you were stripping out of on stage.
Memories of another profession flashed briefly in your mind, but those were just aspirations. Maybe you would pursue another career later in life, but right now, you were just a fresh-faced twenty-year-old using her bombshell body and gifted fake breasts to pay your way through college.
Tumblr media
Finally dressed up, dolled up, and ready to explore the rest of this lavish mansion, you head downstairs. Walking at this point is an act of perversion, as your ass is barely contained by your skirt and your titties try to bounce out of your bra with each step you take.
When you get to the bottom of the stairs, you see a side table. It's the kind of piece people might leave a set of keys or today's mail resting. On this table, you recognize three items that you think are yours? You'd have to grab them to take a better look.
There is a US Passport owned by a US citizen. Next to it, a cell phone is open to a long list of contacts; friends, co-workers, family. Finally, there's a diploma sitting proudly; a testament to someone's intelligence.
You get the sense you might not have much time to examine all these items. Confident in what would surely properly identify you, you grab...

at long last, I present my headcanon about Luis's education/career timeline + why he kept working for Umbrella while knowing how fucked all of it was
First off there's enough 16 and younger high up Umbrella scientists that it's easy to just accept that shit in the RE world is just Like That and a 12 year old Luis rocking up to enroll in university just makes sense within the logic of the world, but my personal headcanon is way more expansive than that. I like to imagine him actually going to a school operated by Umbrella. The Umbrella boarding school in the Arklay Mountains was shut down, but I headcanon that it wasn't the only one. Umbrella having boarding schools for child prodigies just makes perfect sense- I mean just read a file about the Executive Training School.
Tumblr media
Going after/investing in younger kids is a logical thing to do because they're so much easier to manipulate and brainwash into being exactly what Umbrella wants.
And since Umbrella Europe had that rivalry where they were always trying to compete with their sister branch, I can imagine them seeing what happened to the Executive Training School as an opportunity: Umbrella US fucked up the concept, so they can outdo them by simply running their own competently, without it completely falling apart.
Now you're probably thinking there's a hole in my headcanon, the fact that Hunnigan's report mentions Luis enrolling in university and working for Umbrella after graduating.
My counterpoint is that Umbrella is sketchy as fuck. The whole "James Marcus being a crazy person and performing fucked up experiments on his own students" shit show happened when Luis was just a toddler. So I like to think that inspired them to get a little more cautious when it came to their fucked up child prodigy shenanigans, in time for them to have a solid system worked out by the time Luis is orphaned. And by that I mean they'd find a university to bribe into giving them cover. A new child prodigy graduates from the Umbrella school, Umbrella coughs up some cash, and suddenly that kid attended a university they never actually stepped foot in, and has a diploma with no direct ties to Umbrella. They 100% had the resources and pull to swing some type of arrangement like that.
And Luis is literally the most perfect target for a school like this. He's not just young, he's from an extremely isolated place, making him even easier to manipulate. He also has nothing. They can single him out and crack the whip and push him harder than any of his peers, and he'll just accept it, because what else can he do?
It's Umbrella, or the streets for him.
And I think he probably caught on to the fact that he had made a deal with the devil pretty quickly after starting on the Nemesis Project, but he had made his bed and had to lie in it. Because even after he graduates/becomes a legal adult, they have him completely locked in. There's literally no paper trail or anything official supporting the fact that he's a person who exists. The only thing is the university records Umbrella paid for. Umbrella can hand over some chump change and make those go away too. He wouldn't even be able to start from scratch without a degree, because they could go after him for fraud too. Claim he showed them his degree when they hired him, but discovered it must have been a fake, because the university has no records of him. Who would the courts side with, the kid without a birth certificate, or the pharmaceutical giant that can afford an army of lawyers? It's probably not enough to be all that life ruining, but threats don't necessarily have to be true to work. With Luis's unique life, he's most likely going to be scared of any threat like that, he just doesn't have any experience or context to help him get a grip and really think about it, he's just scared shitless at the thought of going to prison.
And ending this with a point that's independent of my other headcanons in the post and can work on its own. When discussing why Luis stayed for years, we can't forget about Rockfort Island.
On the island, there is also a prison camp and an airport. The prison camp especially, represents an especially dark side of Umbrella. Potential industrial saboteurs and traitors to Umbrella are captured and sent there to be used as human guinea pigs in biological experiments. Once inside, prisoners are held there indefinitely.
(emphasis mine)
I think the common assumption is that Luis fucked off back to Valdelobos because of Raccoon City and being afraid of governments/law enforcement coming after Umbrella, but I really think it was actually Umbrella he was running from. Umbrella would have seemed untouchable at this point, they had the blessing of the government to do what they did in Raccoon City, I doubt anyone there genuinely thought there would ever be legal consequences for any of that. Legal consequences were maybe a far-off possibility that wasn't guaranteed, while Umbrella was very much a real, present, active danger.
But if he got to a point where he couldn't handle the guilt of what he was doing anymore, his options were to disappear completely, or risk being captured and taken to a concentration camp. (Even just resigning normally, without taking any actions against Umbrella, would leave him terrified. A well-liked rising star like him just suddenly resigning, and offering no explanation, likely would have seemed suspicious, and given that Rockfort inmates were a resource for experiments, I can't imagine the bar for what makes someone a "traitor to Umbrella" is very high.)

A follow up to this *billy's camaro fic*
Next day the boys are busy. Well, it's mostly Steve who's busy. While having breakfast Billy tries insisting on coming with him to the repair shop, because of course he needs to see for himself who they are entrusting his precious baby to, but Harrington tells him it's too risky to be seen in public just yet. It's a small town, you never know who you're going to run into when you turn the corner. It might be Tommy, it might be Max, it might be their high school Lit teacher or Billy's former manager from the Hawkins community pool. It might be literally anyone who Billy is still not quite ready to see. Or, who aren't ready themselves to bump into a supposedly dead teenager looking very much alive and walking around the town like it's the most natural thing. Harrington has already resurrected the car once. To be more exact, he's found the right people to do it, so. He's not new to this. Billy finally listens to the voice of reason and just grabs the medicine kit to treat a couple of wounds that still bother him. Steve calls the tow truck service, and in two hours he's standing near the repair shop watching the camaro being unloaded from the truck.
"Kid, you gotta stop doing whatever you're doing to that car." - Old Joe tells Steve, shaking his head in disbelief, and Harrington just throws up his hands like the situation which led up to this was out of his control. It actually was, so it's nobody's fault.
When Steve gets home, he hears sizzling sounds coming from the kitchen.
"You want a grilled cheese sandwich, Harrington? Found stuff in the fridge, making some."
Wow, that's kinda new. Nobody has cooked anything for Steve in a long, looong, no you don't understand, a really long time
"Yeah, if that's okay?"
"So how did it go?"
"Well, the old man was uh .. confused? I don't think he expected me to be back like that. He was also sad .. ? Cause they fixed it up so well. Looked brand new, just a few weeks ago."
"He'll just have to do it again. If he agreed. Did he?"
"Yeah, yeah, he did. He knows the car, knows what to do. It's not as bad as the last time."
"When are they gonna be done?"
"He said he would call me tonight, or tomorrow morning, tell me about the time they'll need."
"How much is it?"
"Well, he didn't tell me the exact price, because .. he still needs to look into it, so .."
Hargrove's looking at Steve intently
"Listen, I'll give you the money back. But obviously not right now."
"Yeah, I mean .. You don't have to give me back anything."
"I will, Steve."
"If you want to, okay. We can talk about it later, really. We have like .. so many things to figure out first."
Billy's putting a sandwich on a plate and sliding it to Harrington.
"Lunch."
"Oh wow. Thanks."
After lunch Steve goes upstairs and searches through his drawer for Dr. Owens' phone number.
When Owens hears Steve's name, he asks immediately
"Is it acting up again, Steve?"
"What? Oh, no. No, everything is okay here, just .. do you remember Billy? Billy Hargrove?"
"Of course. The guy who died in Starcourt?"
"Yes. Well .. what would you say if I told you that .. hypothetically, I had some information about him being alive?"
Steve's feeling kinda stupid. He's not completely sure they can trust Owens, but they really have no-one to turn to if they need help with documents. Billy Hargrove is officially dead. Even if they are talking about a fake ID, with a different name, Steve doesn't have connections like that. And it's not just an ID. Driving license, high school diploma, where are they supposed to get all the papers from??
Steve's afraid he's not good at this trying-not-to-get-too-involved-with-the-government stuff. Fucking spy shit. Outlaw level.
"I'd say, it makes sense, Steve."
"R .. really? Why?"
"Well, you don't know that but .. when the scene was cleared and all of you were sent home after what happened in Starcourt, Billy's body .. was gone. After the paramedics announced his death, I believe the body was just laying there unsupervised for .. really, not more than only a few minutes, but when my people came to pick it up, it wasn't there, on the Starcourt floor. We searched everywhere, but it just vanished into thin air."
"Oh my god. So .."
"So I am not even too much surprised to hear your news."
"Why didn't you say anything .. to Billy's family? Who did you bury in that grave??"
"Steve, he was dead. How could I have explained this to his family?? It was a closed casket. It was an empty casket."
Owens is silent for a second.
"Now .. The more important question is, if Billy is alive, is there a chance that he's still flayed? Is he dangerous?"
Steve's looking at Billy sitting across from him and he understands that Billy understands too. What they are talking about. Probably he can hear Owens voice.
"Look, Dr. Owens, I uh .. first of all, the key word here is hypothetically. Like .. I don't even know if he's alive or not. But if he was and he didn't present any .. danger to people, would there be any possibility to get his life back to normal somehow? I mean, paperwork?"
"Anything is possible, Steve. But we would have to run some tests first probably."
Billy's tensing
Steve actually doesn't think it was such a great idea to call Owens now. Fuck. "One of the good ones", my ass.
"Dr. Owens, listen. Hypothetically .. -
Hargrove's rolling his eyes at hearing the word for the third time now
- .. speaking, a guy who came back from the dead would be very traumatized, right? What if .. what if there was a way not to run any tests in a lab or something like that?"
"I hear you, Steve. I would still need to see him, even if it was only me. How does that sound?"
Steve's looking at Billy. Hargrove is shrugging his shoulders.
"How can I be sure that it's only going to be you, Dr. Owens?"
"Steve. You've already been through so much. We've been through certain things together as well. You might have noticed I do things differently than my other colleagues. Will and Jane, they are living a usual life in California, right? We let them go. I just need to make sure Billy is not a threat."
"I see."
"Let's make a deal. I'll make all the papers ready. We'll meet and talk, the three of us, in a public place. Or I can visit the place where, hypothetically, -
Steve's covering the receiver with one hand and whispering to Hargrove "Is he mocking me?" -
" .. Billy is staying. Just me. If I see that everything is alright, that'll do. Billy will get his identification, and he's free to go. Believe it or not, we also want this mess to finish, once and for all."
Steve is hesitant, but, really, what choice do they have?
Billy's nodding.
"Okay. Okay, Dr. Owens. When and where should we meet?"
They agree for Steve to call Owens again in a week and decide on the meeting place.
"Good bye, Dr. Owens."
Steve can see that Billy is not very happy with this conversation.
"Maybe it wasn't such a good idea after all."
"It's fine, Steve. What other options do I have anyway? I'm a dead man according to the system. I need the fucking papers. I can't get them without the fucking government."
"Yeah, yeah I know. But hey, I still think Owens is a good one."
"We'll see, Harrington. It's fine. Thanks for making that call."
Steve's still doubtful that it was a wise move, but he's honestly trying to help.
"What are you going to do for the rest of the day, Harrington?"
"Well I .. I need to call my mom? Check on her and kinda find out about their plans .. make sure they aren't gonna make a surprise visit here. And then, go grocery shopping. Can't take you with me, but uh .. tell me what you maybe need .. or want?"
"Steve, everything is fine, I don't need anything. I think I'm gonna go nap now. Do you wanna watch a movie later?"
"Sure. Sure, what do you have in mind?"
"What's new?"
They end up spending the afternoon and the evening cooking dinner together and watching "Back to the future" and re-watching "The Terminator" cause, apparently, they both like it, and Steve is enjoying it all so much, because he hasn't spent a day like that in a long, really long time. Also, he sort of has a suspicion Billy is enjoying himself as well, and it's not even awkward between them,
and this is strange, because if Steve recalls high school correctly, it was so strange, like Billy was out to get him and Steve was annoyed by it, and if you asked him about Hargrove he'd just say that he hated that loud Californian fuck, but in reality, and that's something he would've never told anyone, Steve sort of enjoyed his attention. Add in there those couple of times with those couple of dreams when he might've woken up with a situation in his underwear cause he ..
He really shouldn't think about it now.
Before going to bed Billy says to Steve
"Good night, man. Tomorrow we are closing that fucking portal." He's yawning and stretching and Steve still can't believe Hargrove's turned into some kind of a superhero.
***
In the early morning Old Joe calls and catches Steve on the doorstep leaving for work. He says everything is definitely not as bad as it was the previous time. They'll need two weeks, maybe two and a half, tops.
It's good news. Other good news is that Steve's parents are not planning on visiting their son for quite some time, and Steve was relieved to hear that yesterday.
Tonight they are having plans. Big plans. If he's honest with himself, Steve has been feeling so .. alive. Ever since this mess with the camaro started, and then with the hope that resident asshole Billy H. is somewhere out there, Steve's never felt lonely, or without a purpose, or like he was just wasting his life away.
***
They drive to the ruins of Starcourt after dark has set down. Billy is amazing. He throws his hand out and the air is charged with electricity, high voltage, skull and crossed bones, and
he does close the portal.
And even though he collapses on the ground right after it and Steve has to literally drag him to the beamer and inside the house to the couch again, Billy is still fucking gorgeous.
That night Steve dreams of the school basketball court and feels Hargrove's hot sweaty body pressing into his.
***
The next couple of weeks it's quiet. They get some kind of a routine going, and Steve would lie if he said he wasn't in a hurry to get home every evening. Robin's onto him and thinks he's got a girlfriend. Steve just surrounds himself with mystery and tells Robin that he can't go to the movies with her tonight, again, "Sorry Rob, some family business."
Everything is quiet and calm, and nothing really happens except their meeting with Owens. In a diner outside Hawkins, Billy's wearing a beanie and sunglasses on an absolutely sunless day, just like in spy movies, Steve's nervous, but everything goes well. Probably because they look like two teenage dumbasses "Just avoid using the word hypothetically, Steve." - "Shut up, Hargrove." and Owens understands no-one is flayed here anymore. Billy gets the whole shebang of brand new documents, and he's a free bird.
The camaro gets fixed, and when Steve brings her back, they celebrate. They are sitting in the car, shooting the shit, one of old Billy's tapes playing, and Billy smokes his first cigarette after July the 4th. He even gets through one bottle of beer and hugs Harrington before going to the guest room for the night "C'mere, man. Fucking thank you." His words are a bit slurry and eyes teary, and Steve melts into that brief hug although it's just a usual bro hug and he can't read too much into that, otherwise he won't be able to sleep tonight so he just says "See you in the morning, Billy" and watches Hargrove turn his broad back and close the door to the guest room. Billy's been gaining his weight back, and he just keeps looking better every day.
In the morning Steve's coming down to the smell of coffee in the kitchen. Billy's sitting at the table crunching on cereal. They exchange morning pleasantries and then Billy says
"Hey, Steve. I think I have to .. I have to go see my father."
To be continued

Can you help me im so confused how archie (and everyone listening to him) had those memories for his poem i thought everyone but betty and jughead forgot 😭
bobbyjean asked: Wait a second were those the good memories. the serial killer gene and jason’s corpse. and archie playing football in leopold and loeb juvenile detention center……
well imo you can work with different theories so like
they dont remember these things as things they lived themselves but they remember them as things tabitha showed them the first time they saw the riverdale memories (so like if they'd watched themselves go through these things in tv but not as if they happened irl for them)
goodbye riverdale is back to jughead's narration and jughead is unreliable he's just making shit up (this also goes with the theory that what jughead showed betty was not real but was a fabrication he made up for her as her dying wish was to relive those days with everyone as they were + the fake reality had plot holes because to be fair jughead was like 86 when he died he cant keep track of who remembers the serial killer genes and who doesn't he's busy)
narrator jughead seems to be in control of this episode more than he was before (we see him corporeally and there's 2 jugheads in the end) so the characters' lives have been rewritten to fit the narrative jughead wanted to tell so they remember because he does too and the story belongs to him and not to them (to me jughead is always afraid of abandonment and change so he keeps his stories ones where his friends don't leave or grow + he has been shown to find it hard to come up with anything other than stories about his friends in riverdale in s5 and as bunker/god jughead). for me this also fits with the idea of the characters and angel tabitha trying to break free and narrator/god jughead(s) not allowing it -> town won
they loved these memories they love cults and killing and corpses and gay juvie. the bad memories were like archie not getting his high school diploma or something
from a doylist pov (boring) this meant nothing about the story and was just an homage to their most iconic moments in the show for the audience and the crew. you could twist this a bit to be meta and make something up about the characters behaving as characters and talking willingly to an audience because they exist only in our eyes if you wanted
which are all fun ideas to consider and theyre not mutually exclusive (like it could be jughead taking over the narrative but it could be in a world he makes up just for betty so all the other characters are in the real sweet hereafter but betty went to purgatory pop's because she does remember it all and this prevented her from being able to leave it behind. also archie for sure would remember some of gay juvie he loved the gay parts of gay juvie he told me. and fangs probably had god times at the cult i mean he dated human kevin maybe a love for cults is what they had in common)
to me it stood out as a moment where i was like oh jughead is lying to us for sure. awesome. one last jughead lying to us and trapping us in the cycle forever for the road yippee

OUTTAKES — A collection of bits and pieces of ideas I had and posts I was going to make that never made it to completion
Tumblr media
TRIVIA
I wanted to do posts of miscellaneous trivia and headcanons around certain themes. The only one of these I completed was one on their names. I forced the explanations of Mingeun and Andrew(‘s stage) names into “Double A-Side,” but I do have the rest of them HERE.
I also have some other trivia facts that I think more people should know.
Mingeun keeps a diary in French. He was very strongly encouraged to start one when he was a trainee, and he’s stuck with it ever since. Except he doesn’t want anyone else reading it, which is why he writes in French. It’s also made him a lot better at the language.
The worst-kept Fable secret is that Jaeseop has been in a relationship with his girlfriend since 2016. The best-kept Fable secret is that Jaeseop moved out at the end of 2022 to live with said girlfriend. I am hoping this will have bearing on the story soon other than mentions that Jaeseop doesn’t live with them anymore.
Solidifying the degrees for once because I feel like I’ve said Jaeseop has three different degrees. He does not. His degree is in marketing. Kiyoung’s is in political science, and Andrew’s is in music. Haksu dropped out halfway through but he was studying business administration. His heart was not in it at all.
On the topic of education, Intak went to a technical high school and is a decently qualified fake civil engineer. Eunsu attended SOPA in the Department of Practical Music. Mingeun is the only member without a high school diploma.
The lore-relevant reason for the education is that Taein believes in back-up plans. It’s part of the reason he doesn’t like Mingeun very much. On a tangential note, Neon Nights was the backup if Fable’s debut fell through.

FANSERVICE MOMENTS THAT CAUSE SECOND-HAND EMBARRASSMENT / 2024 WHITE DAY SPECIAL
Exactly what it sounds like. Also the failed post that inspired this one. It was so cringe I couldn’t go through with it. I wanted to write this like a script. Thinking of the dialogue did me in completely. HERE are the only two scenes I finished.
Other things I had planned on were Haksu’s constant enabling of the boyfriend stans (signing fake marriage certificates at in-person fansigns, barking/meowing/whatever in fan calls), Jaeseop chivalry moment (didn’t think farther than that), and an extra terrible group Imagine Your Korea ad.

OOPS ALL HAKSU CONFESSIONS
This is the title of “Great Things” in my docs. When I made the doc, I was going to write it as moments in a confessional booth. The problem with that is that he’s rationalizing all his actions in his head and he would not have confessed at the level of honesty I needed for the piece. So the other half of the piece was going to be entries in Mingeun’s diary because he’s the only one that works like that, and it would have been two perspectives on the same events. There were two problems with that. One, I wanted to die writing first person. Two, he didn’t know the extent of Haksu’s actions.
The last scene of this piece is also a couple of days before the Haksu segment of “Form is Emptiness.” One of the first iterations of this was actually from Andrew’s perspective. It was part of a different Haksu piece which was perspectives on Haksu.
Tumblr media
OTHER DOC TITLES (PUBLISHED)
the eunsu departure novella (but mingeun is also everywhere???) — “Form is Emptiness.” Mingeun is everywhere. I can’t explain it. I guess in this context it makes sense because they’re besties.
mingeun wooseok era (probably not he’s not even flopping) — The Shooting Stars drafts doc. You can find it HERE.
andrew han moment — The write-up of In Full Bloom, the YouTube documentary accompanying their second full album. This helped me realize he’s a main character more than I would like to admit.
andrew mingeun parallels (emotionally constipated man discovers talking about your feelings helps) — The working title of “Not Enough.” In hindsight this is funny because they don’t even work through anything here. They were supposed to. Also I spelled impostor correctly once and incorrectly once in the same sentence 👍.
Tumblr media
byeonghwi time!!! (how he became a trainee) — “First Love.” Exactly what it sounds like.
mingeun hwajung bi4bi — “Live Wire.” They don’t talk about it in the piece but they are both bisexual.
intak anniversary piece that is actually andrew's identity crisis in disguise — “Double A-Side” was originally going to be from Intak’s perspective because he thinks about a lot of things but doesn’t say a lot of things. I realized pretty early on that this had to be an Andrew piece and so that changed.
Tumblr media
OTHER DOC TITLES (UNPUBLISHED)
walk the line — The perspectives on Haksu piece. This was also going to do the same event from multiple perspectives thing. I got as far as three paragraphs into Mingeun’s 2019 Mass experience, which is canon and did happen.
jaeseop at the shareholders meeting! what will happen to him? — Jaeseop attending his first meeting as a Zenith Entertainment stakeholder <3. Since the Fable concept scandal happened, I have to mess with the timeline. This is a thousand words long but I’m going to revisit parts of it in another piece I think so I’m not posting any of those words.
fable! but i don't know where i'm going — A rewrite of one of the very early Fable pieces where Taein told Mingeun to lie about his identity but I never finished it. Actually kind of important now that I think about it. It’s how he ended up the way he was in “Not Enough.” He should know that it’s Taein’s fault. But he was young and angry and desperate and just moved across the world and it was a lot easier for him to take his anger out on Andrew rather than his boss. This was also going to be accompanied by the interlude in which Jaeseop fights for Mingeun’s life, which is what changes Taein’s mind. This is very much missing from just Mingeun’s perspective. Maybe I’ll finish this one. It’s got some great bits like

What was the main conflict for every Fable member in November 2021?
