Hi, I love your profile and sims! I’m ‘kind of’ new to the sims world! I’ve been playing since 2018, but not religiously. I just wanted to ask about your mods folder (sorry if it states somewhere on your profile these kind of questions aren’t allowed, i’m new to tumblr too and still understanding how it works). Feel free to ignore this question if it’s not allowed. I understand that by having lots of folders within the mods folder it can make the game lag. I just wanted to ask how your mods folder looks? As I want to keep mine tidy and be able to find certain cc easily. I’m also in the process of buying a pc as I am currently using a macbook and have so much cc it’s starting to not work… If you have any tips or suggestions with having a pc (if you have one yourself) and how your set up looks, I would really appreciate it. I think lag in your game mostly depends on what kind of computer/laptop you're using. I have just over 50gb at the moment and my game still runs as smooth as it does vanilla ( no mods at all ). I know some people who have 100gb+ and they don't have lag issues either. Again I think it boils down to the computer itself, and what it can handle

I personally chose to go for a custom built computer so that I could choose my own parts as I really wanted a computer that could handle a lot of mods and also I wanted my game to run nice and smoothly, my partner is a bit of a nerd when it comes to computers so he knew exactly what kind of specs I needed

When it comes to my mods folder I am super organised, that way when patch day comes I know exactly where everything is to be able to take it out of my mods folder until its updated etc. I'll pop in some photos of what my folder looks like so you can see below. Trust me it didn't always look like this 😂

If you're struggling with lag then a short term fix would be to have a good clear out of your mods folder and delete everything that you don't reach for often, you can even go as far as deleting swatches of clothes and build buy items that you don't like. I cleared around 5gb last week just by removing swatches from some build buy items that were high in mb's. For example, I had a bed frame that was 320mb in size so I deleted all of the swatches except for the one that I liked the most lol

What my mods folder looks like

The only suggestion I will give regarding picking a computer out is to take your time and do your research! I really rushed my build and didn't want to wait for the white case that I liked so I ended up with the black one I have now that doesn't match my set up at all haha

When getting your computer the main things to look out for is making sure you've got enough storage and a good graphics card, obviously everything is important but these two for me where the main ones I focused on. If you do go custom built for example, you can always upgrade your parts very easily, where as if its pre built I'm not too sure if the cases are universal to fit different brands of parts in if that makes sense?

I am in no way a pro, I had alot of help from my partner when it came to building my computer. If you need help when the time comes feel free to give me a message and I can run things by my partner to help you choose what parts or pre built etc

I'll leave a few photos below of what my setup looks like, I just got the aurora collection for christmas and I also have the razer quartz collection too ( I prefer the aurora lol ). I can easily recommend you some good equipment also if you're not into the aurora or razer products. If you're looking for set up inspo then I would highly recommend browsing through Pinterest, that's where I got the majority of ideas for the aesthetic of mine. Pink and white are my favourite colours, hence the colour palette haha

Assuming you've never done art before to any notable degree, UH, I'm not sure!! I think most artists start with traditional tools and I would definitely recommend that as well. Just get a notebook and start doodling stuff! Digital art is really convenient, but the ability to change things around endlessly is both a blessing and a curse, for beginning artists probably mostly a curse, cause you'll likely start to overstress about it and start trying to make changes till perfection (I get stuck with that constantly and it's awful). With traditional, it's 90% yolo and that's the beauty of it! You work around it, or you start again, a little wiser!

But if you do want to do digital, it's dependant on available tools and preference (eg do you prefer drawing with fingers on mobile or with a tablet on desktop, etc, you just have to test different options). And I honestly don't have a lot to suggest here because I've stuck with the free version of FireAlpaca for most of my life and don't use a pen/tablet, so unfortunately suitable software and the like is up to you to figure out, or you can ask someone wiser than me! Art software with simpler interface is probably the way to go at least in the beginning, heck, I used to draw using "aggie.io" just on my lonesome. But regardless I'm always here to propagate free or easily-acquirable tools if nothing else. You most definitely don't need anything expensive or complex to create something awesome, and you don't need to "upgrade" either if you ever feel that you're being limited by your tools. Just changing things up in other ways can be a huge help, but every artist is very different and the journey of any skill is one that never ends!

For general advice.... again, don't overstress, hence my recommendation to start with traditional art or with software with simple interface. Creation starts with you fucking around and putting some lines on paper, and just keep going from there. It's not going to look anything like what you want it to look like for awhile and that's okay, that's how obtaining a new skill starts for everyone. As much of a nice sentiment as it is to call someone talented, I firmly believe that no one is born with that shit. Some people just pick some things up quicker than others, but we all start somewhere and we struggle but struggle is proof that you're doing it right, so don't ever beat yourself up for partaking in art and creating something, because god knows that's the biggest problem among artists lol

hello, tarot red here. i did a reading about: R and J and their connection next year.

since the beginning this reading doesn’t look good at all. i can’t see a lot of feelings here going on, but i think the energy is quite doomed. i can see a disconnection here i don’t know if it’s because they will be busy so there will be a distance between them or they will break up. but i see both be very busy with their careers (or at least one). i think whatever problems they have around that time won’t be that public or she won’t talk about it that deeply because i think she will be quite hurt, but based on how she is she probably will try to send some indirect messages towards him.

whatever happens between them it will be something difficult and painful. i see her being quite heartbroken. i see movement here, it can be literal movement (one of them traveling because of work) so perhaps this will make them distance from each other and realize some stuff about their relationship, like maybe one will be like: well, do i need this person in my life right now? i think they really understand each other and see how similar they’re, so that’s why i don’t see them leaving this connection that easily (i got an oracle card that says soulmate). i think they were destined to meet each other and be with each other to learn some stuff, quite a beneficial connection, but if i’m honest i don’t see future here for now. there’s a lot of immaturity, not being stable and one person being manipulative. i think the younger person here will realize how toxic this connection is and this might make her really think about it. i can see one of them having options (i think is her) but she just needs to open her eyes and realize that she can find someone better.

but well, i need to be honest. this can go two ways: her realizing that this isn’t working taking a break and then getting back with him or her really leaving. but i see a lot of codependency here and it doesn’t seem healthy.

not related but i think R’s mother or grandmother really likes J. she might be with him or really like him because her family likes him too, he seems perfect to her family. i do think some of her friends don’t like him that much though and will try to talk her, try to make her see how this connection isn’t healthy because she depends too much on him. like this can really limit her career. i think R’s career will always be connected to her dating life if she’s dating the wrong person her career won’t do good, also the people she dates can upgrade her reputation or bring it down. so yeah.

The Beginner's Guide to McReid

I am once again diving into the world of McReid fanfic, because the Vampyr fandom has some of the best, most intensely erotic vampire slash. There's some insanely talented writers out there, many monster/vampire afficionados are missing out on because it's in a relatively obscure video game. You guys don't even have to have played the game to enjoy it, I swear, as long as you're into powerplay, angst, dominance and enemies to lovers (or enemies to worse enemies), bloodplay, vampire turning, all the good vampire shit.

Here, I made a quick summary for you guys who are not gamers, but want to enjoy the fic with minimal confusion: Jonathan Reid is a doctor, famous for his research into blood transfusions. He returns to London from the front of the first world war, in order to help combat the Spanish flu epidemic currently ravaging the city. On his way, he is mysteriously turned into a vampire. Right after is where the game starts. We, as players, and himself, don't know how and why. A big part of the game plot is finding it out, but I won't spoil it for those who want to play the game, and as the majority of fics take place before he finds out, or after the game ends, when it's no longer relevant.

Anyways, he is turned, and in his fledgling bloodlust, he accidentally drains and kills his beloved sister. He is hunted through the city by the Guard of Priwen, an organisation of vampire hunters, unaware of his new condition, confused and scared, when he is rescued by Edgar Swansea. Edgar Swansea is a major nerd and a member of the Order of the Stole of Saint Paul, another organisation intend on the study of the supernatural. He informs Jonathan about his new nature, and offers him a sanctuary at the hospital he is overseeing. In exchange all Jonathan has to do is offer his services as a doctor in helping the patients with flu, and as a vampire to find at thwart out the root of another, hidden epidemic which is also currently ravaging the city: London by night is plagued by skals, a perverted reflection of the vampire curse, which are more like mindless, senseless ghouls, attacking everybody and spreading their tainted blood. The Guard of Priwen, however, do not distinguish between skals and vampires (or ekons, as they are for some dumb reason called in this game). Especially the leader of the guard, Geoffrey McCullum, has a seething hatred towards vampires, who killed his family (classic). He was saved by the former leader of the guard, and raised to be his merciless successor in hunting out evil. He especially hates Reid, who depending on your choices can try suppress his urges and only feed on rats, or in a "Dragon" playthrough (look for the dragon!Reid tag for extra dark fic), fully embraces his dark desires. However you play, McCullum hates Reid, and especially sees Good!Reid as a particularly sinister evil, who is trying to mask his true, bestial nature.

Let me interject here with a brief description of the vampire rules and powers, as they are often referenced in the fic. I find them especially neat because the writers went very classical and monstrous with the vampire nature. No sparkles here! Vampires crave blood, and need to feed regularly. They can feed on both human and animal blood, though animal is weaker. If they haven't fed, they can give in to bloodlust and kill despite their moral natures. Most don't bother with morality once they are turned though. Good!Reid is exceptional, hence McCullum's enduring scepticism. It requires active mental fortitude for vampires not to hunt and kill humans (and as a player, because you get some neat power upgrades if you do, lol) Vampires can see human blood circulation and hear their heartbeats through walls. They can also read people's minds and mesmerize them if they so desire. They can teleport from shadow to shadow (called "shadow stepping" in the game and some fics.) They can obscure themselves and turn almost invisible in shadows, and sometimes into mist. They can manipulate the blood in their bodies to strike out as a weapon ("bloodspear"). They die by direct sunlight where they burn to ash, and they fall into a deep, deathlike at dawn. They have no pulse, no breath and are pale and cold as corpses. Crosses shine bright like sunlight and weakens and burns them on direct touch as well. If a vampire gives in to evil impulses and kills with impunity they start to appear more bestial, gaining dark veins, sharper teeth even when not actively feeding, and their sclera turn blood red. In fanon, if Reid hasn't fed, he starts looking worse as well, and have a harder time hiding his vampiric nature (though there is some Superman syndrome here, dude looked like a Dracula even before his turning, lol.)

Anyways! There's a lot of GREAT tension-filled interactions between Reid and McCullum throughout the game, as Swansea tries to broker a truce between them so that they can end the skal plague together. It all culminates in a confrontation in the hospital attic, where McCullum has set up a trap to kill Reid. They fight, and in the end, the player is given a chance to let McCullum go, or to forcibly turn him, so he can get a taste of his own medicine. The latter scene is sexy as fuck, and a wellspring of fics. Here's a compilation of all their interactions in the game. Seriously, watch the clip and tell me if it isn't just MAGNETIC between those two! Also, did I mention that McCullum is Irish and working class, and Reid is an upper class Brit? IT WAS MADE FOR SHIPPING.

Eventually the plague is stopped, some characters die or survive depending on your choices. However, Reid always and ever will be a vampire, and now McCullum might also be. So that´s most you need to know if you want to enjoy the McReid ship! Of course there is much more that happens in the game, but this is about their ship/dynamic in particular. Go forth and enjoy McReid, you lovely monsterfuckers!

Alfred for the Character Opinion bingo? (I love your Alfred art btw!! You are so correct about him I think we should be friends)

OH MY WORD THANK YOU SO SO MUCH!! JFJSKYWK I WOULD LOVE TO BE FRIENDS! (I am very bad at replying to messages tho so… yeah…) anyway! For the bingo: 

They are so cool looking:

His design sort of mirroring dimitiri's and having such beautiful floral vibes and flouncy clothes is just so good. I love the fact he's quite a slender character because it gives an odd sort of dis-congruence with his gym-bro vibe, and that adds a layer of mystery that we don't see uncovered until Celine's A support with him. It's such subtle story telling in the design but it's so brilliant. You wouldn't see it unless you knew the spoiler, but once you know it it's so obvious and such a good bit of character design.

His somniel outfit is also a banger. Orange roses signify enthusiasm, encouragement, desire, and energy, which is just so perfect for Alfred. And he also has flower crown hoops on his belt - SO perfect, someone's sad? gift them a flower crown. You're bored? make a flower crown. You need to fiddle to make yourself concentrate? flower crown! its such a small detail but I love it so so much.

No real reason to put this in other than the fact I love it, and the yellow and peaches and blues and greens really shouldn't work but they really do. It is fab.

Another detail I love is that in his upgraded outfit in avenir he gets a crown very similar to his mother's (with the tiara shape in the middle) and with white windflowers on them. The gift Lumera used to give him for his birthday (Alfred and Vander supports) and symbolising protection against illness and recovery. White windflowers are subtly hinting at his character arc and what he deals with in his story (illness, death, protection all being meanings), and pair that with his class name Avenir (French, meaning future or time to come) it's just a really good reflection of his anxieties around chronic and probably terminal illness, but also of his hope for the future and his role as a protector for Alear ("I will be your sword and your shield divine one, and a flower, what could bring more comfort than that?")

If they were real I would marry them:

I mean, kind, loyal, adorable, sweet, loving, not to mention handsome. Honestly there are very few characters I adore that I could say: 'yeah, why not?' to that question, but Alfred is one of them. His good vibes and uncomplicated golden retriever joy just scream husband material. Plus he's religious in game - one of the most religious out of all the characters, which I didn't realise until I looked at his preferred gifts - and as a Christian, having a religious partner is like one of the most important things on the list of requirements for a good match for me.

In all seriousness tho, if he were real, he would be good husband material, but not really my type, so I'm just going on hypothetical how many of the boxes does he tick. lol

they're like a blorbo to me:

I mean... if it wasn't already obvious with the long list of details I gave about his clothing, and all the drawing I do of him... he is very blorbo. Honestly I love him so much. He is a perfect little guy.

not as deep as they seem (1/2):

I shaded this in half, because next to other fire emblem characters he's not really that complex or deep (cough cough dimitri and three houses in general cough cough) and he's very uncomplicated in terms of emotion. He's normally joyful and happy. He's normally protective, and trusting. Honestly uncomplicated puppy vibes.

But at the same time, he does also have that element of deepness (hence the 1/2 box). He isn't always honest about his feelings, because he wants to put others above himself and make sure they see him as a happy guy they can lean on (the Celine A support has quite a lot of this, but so do others). He is a golden retriever boi, but he also hides his illness from his friends and pretends that everything's fine - even to his sister and mother - until he openly has an attack in front of Celine.

He's not as deep as other characters are, and with the exception of feeling guilt and shame over his chronic illness, is a fairly happy and uncomplicated guy.

Why do they look like that:

Purely because I would have loved to see him have a Celine's green colour scheme, I'm putting this there. Also because his feh art does him a bit dirty...

First of, I do apologise for not updating anything in the last while, since October I believe? Sorry. 😔

Unfortunately what happened what that there was this sickness bug going around and I just about died inside when I started experiencing the symptoms and ultimately, got unwell myself.

Cause me to have a lack of motivation, headaches, a bad cough that only now subsided and so long as the air doesn't hit my throat, I won't need to, being sick from the coughing and a sickness bug (so much for that New Year drink I have yet to have btw, lol), etc. It was only this week that I'm feeling back to my old self now and again, I am so so sorry for the lack of anything here.

But I'm back now!! I'll make a vote post shortly but I do remember that I said that my SD corrupted. From what I recovered, via SD recovery I decided to get an upgrade on my cloud storage (two (2) terabyte memory storage, the price is a steal and I recommend getting it) and while everything was backing up, some old notes popped up.

Turned out, back when I was in high school, I started doing some Attack on Titan "bloopers". At the time me and my friend who introduced me to the show made up funny scenarios and it was basically if it were a show on itself or a parody, hence bloopers. Little did we know that Actor AU was a thing. I know that now. 😍😍

Anyway, so I have that and its basically like list so I'll sort the grammar and share that. Bonus was that it turned out, not long after the Marley Arc was introduced, I did a couple of Fanfictions focused around Pieck and Porco, not as a ship story but I do still ship them nonetheless btw. Another is a Fic where a Shifter has a chapter to themselves or shared a chapter (I think, can't remember and haven't looked at it in forever) and they are teaching the future Honorary Marley Children stuff about their specific Titan and strategies, etc. School. It's at a school for them before our four (4) main kiddos were selected to be the inheritors and such.

I'll specify more on the vote post later today and you beauties can choose what you want to see first when I get to them, after my Zelda ones and after some editing for grammar and typos, etc. So glad I get to see them again, I surprisingly missed them.

well, now that my mlp question has been answered, what was the episode of mlpfim that stuck with you the most? for me it was most of the season openings/finales and then the want it need it have to have it episode or whatever that one was

sonic rainboom. i think about the guitar riff when rainbow was close to performing the boom quite a lot. i'll rewatch the episode just to hear it again! it's so awesome and good

season 2 openings, because discord is fun. why didn't he just forcefully discord them all. forever. silly discord

luna eclipsed. i wish we saw more of the bat ponies! also luna's redesign was pretty cool, no matter how much i loved the beta design. just assuming that luna's return left her completely powerless, hence the non-flowy hair and small stature. also holiday interpretations are fun!

hurricane fluttershy, because shes relatable! i was always a little self conscious about my own physical abilities but this episode (and joking around about it) made me feel a lot better

canterlot wedding. cadence my beloved. changelings are so very interesting. i also remember waking up on the couch in my mom's office since they put it on the tv, and my mom joked about mlp being the thing that got me to wake up

crystal empire kinda came out of nowhere but i LOOOOVE the magic implications. i wish they did more with sombra because he seems so interesting as a villain. also i remember being very proud of remembering that the square root of 546 is 23.36664289109

too many pinkie pies; i remember watching this episode the day it aired (it was a reupload on youtube) and my sister and i watched it on our old dinosaur computer, loaded up with good ol' windows 7 and internet explorer

magical mystery cure. i also remember watching this one specifically, sitting in my old bunk bed watching it on my pink disney princess tiara tv and crying at twilight becoming an alicorn because i was so very proud of her (and thought the show was ending)

the season 4 opening, very obviously a huge upgrade in animation. i remember watching leaks of luna's transformation into nightmare moon from a convention and being so excited to see it! im just a big fan of history in shows like this. it gives the world such depth

testing testing 123. probably one of my favorite episodes to rewatch. dash is just neurodivergent!!! it also helped me when i was transitioning from elementary school to junior high (i went to that 6 year college prep school) and the learning curve of "not being as gifted anymore." i still struggle with studying and have not found any great learning methods! well, aside from pretending to be interested, for some reason.

twilight's kingdom. first luna song, AND a laser battle, AND super powerful twilight??? it was pretty awesome. i still want the library back tho pl0x thanks

rarity investigate is a very fun episode. man i like rarity a lot

scare master validating my fears and acknowledging fluttershy's anxiety around the holiday!! it did a decent job at communicating that what may seem trivial to some is a very real issue for others. i love love love how fluttershy is treated in this episode; her boundaries are validated and accommodated for. (i dont like that sometimes they portrayed her as a party pooper. however! this is a very real feeling some people have! and i think it would be worse not to include a little bit of tension surrounding it)

a hearth's warming tale stuck with me well and good since im a huge christmas buff. also, more luna songs. luna songs were always huge in the fandom

all bottled up! starlight glimmer, my beloved. bottling up feelings is a pretty real thing for me, and instead of disregarding my emotions, it taught me that its healthy to vent in a consensual environment and tell people they're bugging you if they are.

parental glideance. actually, any episode introducing parents. omg, theyre (mostly) not orphans!

a royal problem. daybreaker is cool and awesome, and the lroe behind what she COULDVE been is amazing, but i miss the days of nightmare star

I watched TTGL over three days (Friday to Sunday; it's now Wednesday) because one of my students set it as my holiday homework (she's going to watch Buddy Daddies before next term, LOL).

I feel a bit bizarre following the ending...

Like, damn.  There were lots of things I DISLIKED and I think the main reason I didn't drop it in the early stages is because TTGL has a rep as being pretty legendary for its plot.  I think that largely holds up!  There were definitely enough twists and turns to keep me intrigued!  However, in the first 20 or so episodes, it didn't really feel like the team were challenged that much because they always miraculously had the methods to upgrade their mechs... I think the constant upgrading is probably a feature of mech anime (and yeah, it ties in with TTGL's themes of humanity's capacity to constantly move forward, so that makes sense). I guess I just like a bit more jeopardy, sometimes.

The visuals towards the end were stunning and I loved a lot of the animation.  This anime is BRIGHT — I adore the colours!  And the soundtrack is solid.

Overall, the characters are great... I have a special soft spot for Viral.  He goes through so much — but the bit where he's aghast that Kamina has died and he's been losing to Simon was superb.  I love that Viral didn't need to redeemed. He was just allowed to go on with his own principles and that was pretty special.

Lordgenome also turned out to be an unexpected fave! His scientific talks with Leeron were superb.

Man, I loved baby!Rossiu but the older Rossiu was??  Burdened by his responsibilities BUT HE NEEDED A KICK (he received a punch).

Man poor Yoko must've felt bad when Kittan died.  Like literally going the same way as Kamina... and man, I wanted to like Kamina more (he was way too much in certain episodes). He was an amazing brother and his love for Simon was incredible and in particular, THE FREAKING DREAM SEQUENCES filled me with a lot of Emotion.

WHEN THEY SAID THE SERIES' NAME IN THE LAST EP... YEAH!!!!

So... yeah. I think the test of how much I actually enjoyed the series will be whether I'm still thinking about it in a few months' time. It's definitely relaunched my love of mech anime (hence the Zoids rewatch).

Ok ok I’m sorry this took a while I was gonna take screenshots but then the mog-event started and instead I raided until my wrist hurt LOL (and then I typed this all up laying in bed and kicking my feets- read more cos it just got fuckin long

So for Minions/Mounts/Names; Mochiie has adopted two little Chocobo hatchlings- a tan-brown one he named named Anne, and a deep orange one he named SallyBeth he’s not 100% sure what breeds they are, but he does end up eventually saddling Anne adventure during Heavensward and SallyBeth during Stormblood, with the two of them each having their own strengths in terms of riding. SallyBeth is a Draft sized Chocobo too tender hearted for battle and ends up being more suited to long journeys across the continent or carrying luggage/passengers/pulling the cart, if need be. Anne is a smaller sized spitfire that is most likely to kick and bite apart anything that gets in her way. Mochi is the only one that can safely handle her, though I would call them “drift compatible”. Anne has bitten several people on the ass before, and will steal gyshal greens out of your bag.

Anne is also kitted out with a special ‘trick saddle’ he had custom made during his stint on the Steppe in Stormblood, so he can put his foot up on the saddle horn for extra height-stability to fire his bow while riding. (Hence why they are “drift compatible” in order for this to work, Anne actually wears blinders to keep her focused and running steady)

(Since I haven’t thought about Shadowbringers too extensively for my two canon WoL’s, I’ll give you this weird answer from Chuusday the non-WoL, and her wife, also a non-WoL but more involved w/ the WoL, it’s complicated ik ik we haven’t nailed out what happens with the WoL yet tho;)

Lowest point was when Chuusday’s wife Talia got soul-ganked and she didn’t even get to find out about this until she was summoned to the first (eon become instant yadda yadda) a week or so later to help fight The Big Problem which was all told a hilarious situation. Because her wife was really hurt and despite being inactive by nature that was enough to send her into a guns blazing fury. I think she temporarily became a Gunbreaker she got so mad-

High point was the Yorha Raids- for all the ups and downs during, getting to explore the ruins of the city and pick through the parts for upgrades made all Chuu’s dopamine receptors light on god damn fire. Tuesday gets a body upgrade just from all the salvage. He’s lighterweight than ever. His link Pearl gets built in temporarily but ends up disabled in favor of a physical linkpearl after concerns abt being listened in on without safe action to prevent it being available.

Aaaand, “how does the WoL feel about Zenos?”

The short answer; Mochiie is obsessed with this guy for a long time. It makes him worse. It brings out the ugliness in what he would’ve considered his good traits.

The longer answer;

“I can fix him” but it’s a hard lesson. It’s a hard lesson because sometimes people can’t be fixed. Zenos becomes an all-consuming yard stick that Mochi measures himself against strength wise as he fights to become stronger, faster, wittier, he’ll think of the right things to say this time and make Zenos change for the better and recognize the humanity and feelings in others but it just keeps not working. Because Zenos doesn’t want to be fixed. He wants to be your obsession. He wants the person with the potential to be an interesting fight, a meal to be fattened and braised for hours- he wants them to be obsessed with him just as much as he is. More than he is. And Mochi falls right into that readily, of having potential to be a fight that makes his blood sing. And Mochiie thinks in his overwhelming strength is the same potential for overwhelming goodness. It is. Not easy to accept when that isn’t so.

He’s never had to run into a wall like Zenos before. He does eventually make peace with it, after beating him down as Shinryuu, baring his whole self snarling and ugly and tired to face against a terrible primal that was someone he thought worth saving. (He’d made it work with Ysayle, they found common ground before her death, even Urianger, for his turncoat moments, they found sense, things made *sense* Zenos doesn’t make any **sense**—)

Zenos isn’t here to make sense and fit into neat and tidy boxes or be some ‘fix-it’ project that can be saved lmfao.

I joke in a modern au Mochiie would write a ten+ paragraph argument, cited sources, research, hours, days of carefully picked words and picked apart drafted, revised, revised again thoughts, and Zenos would send back the equivalent of

“ur mom suck me good and hard through my shorts 🤣🤪😜” like .2 seconds later, implying he didn’t even bother to read it… and he like, really won’t.

MatchaME’s First Voyage

The more time you spend outside, the more time you’re able to look at all sides.

2023. I’ve always been a fan of foldies. The term itself speaks to me: oldie with an F. LOL. As I am on my way to spend more and more time outside Manila, my MatchaME, my matcha folding bike is an investment.  May 2, 2023. My Tito Taurus’ birthday and MatchaME’s first voyage in my ina’s sleepy town somewhere in the South. Of course, I had first fold jitters and booboos. As I unfold this beauty, I am amazed about how well made she really is. Unapologetic. Tiny but mighty. Streamlined.  Dad egged me to get either a Trek or a Bianchi gravel bike because honestly these two are really strong challengers. Bianchi is a top contender because I like cyan and I like the letter B; plus the reviews are really, really buttery. I actually interacted with sellers already but, my heart belongs to the other B, baby! (May foldie ba Bianchi? Parang ‘di bagay though so pass.) Both are not budging in terms of the value for money and most especially, the curation I am slowly building up. Not about being fancy, but, why a foldie?  I am 5 ft. 2 in. and my arms are longer compared to my legs.  I travel and want to travel more both here, there and everywhere.  I try my best to fit a bike session in each trip.  I still am not confident to go back to driving. I am a TINY HOUSE bitch forever.  I am keeping up with city life and the life outside the city.  I am on my way to spend more time around Tagaytay very soon.  I don’t like fast bikes to be honest.  I don’t like upgrading bikes.  I don’t know a lot about fixing bikes.  I have trust issues hence I don’t like getting my bike fixed.  I have “space invaders” issues, too. I feel like my bike is an extension of my being and doing, hence, I don’t want other people to lambast my bike and me, too. (Tindi ko noh? Pati bike, hindi pinatawad.)  I like chill rides that are about 50KM at the minimum.  I dress up and dress down, so a foldie does well with ANY look and vibe.  I don’t mind running errands with a bike so as long as there’s not much smoke and not much distractions on the road.  I don’t want bikes that are placed in racks.  I don’t want bikes to get in the way and my way, too.  I want a bike that I can conveniently bring with me wherever I go, if possible.  I really have a thing for biking, walking, reading, writing in places that have ambient lights and sounds.  Ergo, a foldie is me.  My Tito is one of my fallen Twin Taurus Towers. The other is my mom whose birthday is coming up very soon. Really not sure if I intended to find a significant date for MatchaME’s first voyage but a lot has been happening in between sleeping less and eating less, too. To be honest, I bike because I need to convince my system to focus on more sleep and eating better. So far, I’ve been making a progress and would need to keep at it because I’m still on the cusp of a spiral or a sparkle.  Taurus szn, you shithead. I hope that MatchaME’s voyages would enable me to make sense of your inescapable entrance and exit. It’s not easy as I am still avoiding my emotions since February of this year. LOL. However, there are many times when I allow myself to feel the cut, the shiver, the pierce, the empty, the choke, the fail, and many more forms of vulnerability to come through the fortress I have built for the past decades.  What’s curious though is that through each brushes and strokes of, with and for vulnerability, I am also finding the calm. This 2023 chaos is indeed life-altering. Maybe, just maybe, this time around, I’d be able to go beyond connecting the dots backward. May this 2023 be the pivot that I’ve been waiting for as I make sense of all shit and wins in my life.  MatchaME’s first voyage was all about testing its power and its limits, too. No gear shifted as I traversed some kind of hilly and flat roads. No fancy tricks, just hyperfocus on what I can do with what LITTLE I have. So far, she’s giving. So far, she’s making my hidden dark heart and soul vibing. LOL. So far, I think we’re a really good match that had to wait. She ain’t easy to get as I’ve been dreaming about her since 2015. And so far, the wait is worth it. Super worth it.  Some lessons I got in her first voyage are:  1 Though you can’t fear the mountain when you don’t know its steepness, truth is, when you’re on you’re way up, you need to know how to make it without the tukod  2 Just in case you come across a tukod on your way up the mountain, it’s totally fine because you are human  3 People who belittle tiny packages do not matter. Surprise them and make them go wild as you make your way to the top no matter how slow you go 4 When people look down on your foldie, smile and tell them you got this and they ought to mind their own shit poetically with pektus (tuhuran mo ng very light ng tumigil)  5 You really need to learn how to befriend the break as you go from the top to the bottom 

6 Keep your eye peeled for stories that are worthwhile, always 

7 Stop chasing the distance. Enjoy the journey. Go for a chill ride.  8 The main road is definitely a good one, but the secret streets make any ride richer and fuller with their sudden uphill and surprising downhill  9 Too much wind, sun and rain are constants. Learn how to make it through them 

10 A bike is a tool, a weapon, and a companion  11 Water and coffee and polvoron might be my go-to for pitstops 

12 Learn how to check your bike before and after you ride (lagot ako sa nanay ko sa part na ‘to because this bitch can’t even pump air or do a basic bike check. My grian designs from oldest (2019) to newest (2022)  the 1st image is from 2019, its my only drawing of grian from that time. i then kinda took a 2 year break from drawing him haha, the next 2 images are from 2021 and the last pics are from this year. As you can see, he gets more bird-y and i think thats nice.  kinda of a break down of the designs under vvvv

2019 - i basically drew his skin how most people drew him around that time, i wasnt super in to hermit at that time so i didnt bother making a better design. 2021 (1) - i finally got in to hermit craft again around season 8 where the moon was being silly, and that was the time where grian had the tired skin. I went with parrot wings since theyre majorly popular in the fandom. i gave him his usual clothes just more roughed up. he has a purple ring in his eyes to represent the witcher part, just mostly subtle.  

2021 (2) - space grian ! never finished drawing like the previous one but there is a tiny change, the wings. It was then where to boatem crew landed in void/space/whatever. i like the idea of grians wings being able to shapeshift to whatever he needs (thanks to that one fic on ao3 about grian shifting his wings to diffrent species. if i find it again ill link it here), and since he’s a watcher in a way, i thought his wings would become more spacey with starts ! . this is pretty much for this one 2022 (1) - MAJOR upgrade from the last one. i made it around the break between season 8 and 9. I wanted to go for more avian/birdy side of him in this one, hence the 2 wings on his head. I decided  to abond the parrot wings, mainly cause it just didnt fit the grian in my head. His wings are not really designed after a particular bird, i just made them look closer to his hair color (they also got silly eyes in them to once again refrence the watchers).

 He has more feathers on his face/along his body, which most you cant see but trust me its there. His eyes still have the watcher ring color.  His clothes changed too, i dumped the sneakers and his older pants. I gave him strong high calf shoes where he can tuck his pants legs in lawl. He has more bags/pockets stuff to carry his stuff inside (its like the inventory just with more logic to the real world.)   there is feathers sticking out of his shoes for whatever reason.  I was originally planning on giving him bird feet and claws but i didnt know how to draw it so i went with covering his hands with the sweater, and giving him normal legs. 2022 (2) -  Ah yes, the actual bird-yfiction of grian. The clothes stayed pretty much the same, i just gave him a pair of glasses that were inspired by my good friends @he1ian​ grian design.  I made him way shorter and this time went and gave him bird legs and “claws” (glorified long black nails lol). His hair has became longer, which he can now put in to a ponytail. He has trinkets from his friends on the bag (which i will draw more clearer one day), red scrape of fabric from mumbos tie and a moon charm from pearl. (there will be pins, one will have vote for mumbo, the other one will be the sarah pin and etc. mainly memories from past seasons and other stuff ^_^)

 I deleted one pair of bags from his pants due to him now being shorter. If you compare his height to my scar design his head is somehwree under scars shoulder. OH YEAH he also has a tail now For whatever reason.

While I do agree that Bakugo probably can do all the things Deku can with 6QUIRKS (since he and Deku are supposed to be Equals), I think his downside is that he’s just. Extremely Loud and Noisy lol. Safe to say, if he were to be pit against Lady Nagant like Deku is, he’ll probably need a different strategy from Deku’s. Altho aside from Blackwhip like you said, I don’t think Kacchan can make that much smoke as easily as Deku could though. Not related but I think DvsK3 will end in a draw.

this is true! but Katsuki also has a few upsides of his own which Deku doesn't have and which would have been advantages in this fight.

he's faster than Deku (yeah I'm sticking by this, given the recent speed upgrade lol. although to be fair, with Fa Jin Deku is probably evenly matched with him again. but Deku doesn't seem to have perfect control of it yet, and it also seems to require a charge up which Katsuki doesn't have to bother with. hence why I give Katsuki the edge).

he has better control of his quirk than Deku.

his fighting style is more decisive than Deku's. Deku is a bit better at complex strategy, but Katsuki's fighting instincts are sharper and usually don't steer him wrong.

his quirk is heavier on the artillery side than Deku's. he's got good options from both long and short range, and he has more destructive capacity. usually that doesn't give him much of an advantage since he has to hold back, but it would probably make a huge difference going all out against a sniper who was trying to kill or capture him. he could have blasted Nagant when he caught her instead of just uselessly grabbing her arm. and his quirk also has an incineration ability which he can use pretty quickly in a pinch (see: his counter to Ochako's trump card move in the Sports Festival), and which might come in handy against some of those bullets.

last but not least, he has that blinding stun grenade move which would have been absolutely perfect to use here. maybe he wouldn't have been able to create a smoke cloud as quickly or quietly as Deku, but the thing is, with a move like that he wouldn't have even needed to.

all in all I think he would have done all right, or at least on par with how Deku has fared thus far (there's no denying Nagant is a pretty deadly opponent). I don't want to get bogged down in an endless reddit-style strength debate, or spend a lot of time meticulously crafting hypothetical battle scenarios lol, but I think this much is at least reasonable to say. he probably would need to adjust his strategy a bit as you said, but he's got a few good options for that.

and I agree, DvK3 will and should be a draw. it pretty much has to be in order to cap things off in a satisfactory way. the two of them as equals, having finally reached a stage in their relationship where they can fully and proudly acknowledge each other's strengths, and where both of them understand that their rivalry isn't actually about surpassing each other anymore, but about continuously pushing each other so that they continue to grow stronger together. basically nothing that isn't already the case, or that we don't already know, but I think it would put everyone's minds at ease to see the story confirm that once again. well, except for the Bakugou haters lol, but oh well.
