no because it’s so important to me that the rest of the group is hyping nick up to come out to imogen!! even if you know that the other person will be supportive, baring your soul like that is still such a nerve wracking experience and it means the world to me that nick has friends by his side to help. this show is just so good at queer friendships
heartstopper is so funny to me bc it’s like almost all young up-and-coming teen actors and then just. academy award winner olivia colman is there to have four lines a season
i wish everyone who made kit connor feel he had to come out a very merry FUCK YOU. you forced an eighteen year old into coming out publicly, before he was ready, when he stated many many times he wanted to keep it private. how many more times does this shit have to fucking happen before some of you fucking clock that YOU CANNOT QUEERBAIT IN REAL LIFE. this is the natural end to the discourse of ‘if somebody is in the public eye playing a queer person they owe us their sexuality’, and it’s DEEPLY FUCKED UP, they do NOT owe you an answer, and this mindset JUST FORCED AN EIGHTEEN YEAR OLD TO OUT HIMSELF BEFORE HE WAS READY TO
I just know Mr. Ajayi wanted to hype Imogen up so bad but remembered that he’s a responsible adult and can’t yell out “ROAST HIS ASS” in front of a bunch of 15-16 year olds
thinking about nick nelson… and how he spent so much time in a hyper masculine environment… but he feels most comfortable around girls… thinking about how “some of the rugby boys are nice” yet imogen is the first person he decides to come out to outside of his family and other queer people (and tao)… thinking about how he didn’t really have close friends until he reconnected with tara… and how tara and darcy were the first friends he made on his own… not because of proximity like the rugby lads or because they were charlie’s friends first… but because he felt safe enough with them to create a meaningful, non-superficial connection… not because that’s what was expected of him… but because he wanted to… thinking about his little smile when darcy says “we’re such meddling gays and i love it”… and what that must have meant to him… thinking about how before charlie… nick’s best friend was seemingly his mum… and how often someone said “nick nelson is the straightest person i’ve ever seen”… and all of that makes me wonder… how many people see him… and think they know exactly who he is… but the first time he’s actually seen is when charlie comes along… many thoughts…
