Kiba Headcanons Collection
What He Looks For In An S/O~
Someone who appreciates animals. Of course, dogs are his favorites, but he doesn’t hate animals at all, not even cats.
Someone wild who knows how to have a good time, just like Kiba. He won’t enjoy dating a square, just being honest.
He wants a woman who’s not afraid to stand on her own two; the Inuzuka clan is primarily a matriarchy, meaning he’s used to strong-willed women.
He’s going to need an emotionally open person, he pretty much wears his heart out on his sleeve, so Kiba needs someone who can articulate their feelings.
He’s a possessive person, it’s in his nature, so a patient s/o would suit him best.
The saying ‘she’s beauty, she’s grace, she’ll kick you in the face’ is literally everything he’d ever want.
I can see him with someone smaller than him just because he has a thing for size differences.
He loves confidence and would swoon if his s/o took charge sometimes, in daily life, and in the bedroom.
Kiba is big on physical affection, so someone with the same love for touch is preferable.
Kiba leaves constant hickeys and you can’t convince me otherwise, so they’d best be used to it.
Akamaru has to like you. Period.
Relationship With Kiba Stuff~
This boy loves HARD, like with his whole heart, and he’s not afraid to show it either.
He’ll love taking you out on adventurous outdoorsy dates, usually, Akamaru will come with but every once in a while it might be the two of you.
He likes games and challenges. I could definitely see him turning a treasure hunt into a date.
He actually loves going on missions with you (there’s nothing sexier than watching his girl kick ass) and will let you do your thing without unnecessary worrying.
He’s not huge on giving gifts all the time, but he does enjoy treating you to nice places and dates.
He has the nose of a dog. So he can smell your… week before you even know it’s there.
“Hey, (Y/N)... I, uh, thought you could use this!” *shoves snacks, a heating pad, ice cream, and a teddy bear in your arms*
He’s not the greatest at picking up on moods, but once he figures it out he’ll be all over it.
You’re probably good friends with Hana and Tsume, which Kiba appreciates, even though he hates sharing you.
He definitely takes you to see the dogs and the puppies, especially when one is just born.
He’s unashamedly sensitive like just love him, please.
How To Annoy/Lose Him~
First of all, if Akamaru and you don’t get along. Akamaru was there from birth so, you know, if he doesn’t like you, sorry hun.
It’s one thing to be appropriately possessive, like not letting girls walk all over you to your man, but he does have female friends and he does not want to be caged.
If you’re not family-oriented. The Inuzuka clan is very much a pack family and everyone is very close.
Don’t ignore him or neglect him, he will be hurt.
Kiba enjoys playful banter, but he also knows where the line is and he expects you to as well
Being a genuinely rude person. Okay, yes, Kiba has anger management issues, but he’s not a mean person.
Not having compassion/empathy for others. It’ll disturb him, I promise.
Arrogance and vanity. Kiba knows he’s the shit alright, but he’s not a total jerk about it, and he expects the same from you.
Soft Kiba Things~
He’s actually pretty good at remembering things like important dates (thanks to his trusty calendar) so you’ll be hard-pressed to find him forgetting things like birthdays or anniversaries.
He has a dog plush toy that he will give to you when he’s off on missions. But when you’re off on missions, he’ll use your pillow since it smells like you.
He’s a huge cuddler and the position doesn’t matter as long as he’s close to you. (makes an adorable little spoon btw)
He definitely has a secret photo album/box full of candids, drawings from Sai, and little things that reminded him of you (i.e. a pretty flower, a quote, or a trinket) but he’d rather die than let it be found, it would ruin his bad-boy persona.
I feel like Kiba would like to feed you every once in a while. Like not in a weird, fetish way (iykyk) but a romantic thing that was rare?
He would love to train with you, like wow that’s my s/o and they’re so strong?
Kiba genuinely melts inside when he sees you and Akamaru interact. Like that’s his life long companion and the love of his life being friends? Woah.
He’s touch starved but for no reason at all except for the fact that he loves physical affection so please give him all the cuddles.
Random Kiba Facts~
His love languages are physical touch/quality time.
He’s not scared of thunderstorms in a traditional way, but just like dogs, the sounds and lightning are overstimulating and he’ll usually spend it with ear canceling headphones and in the basement.
Since everyone has a unique natural smell (he really liked yours) he’ll most likely complain if you wear heavily scented perfumes/body wash.
He knows he’s not naturally responsible so he creates detailed lists and schedules for himself.
Kiba has a perfectly working bed, but he always ended up on the floor so that’s where he sleeps now.
Contrary to popular belief, he likes to go as vampires for Halloween (he says he’s a werewolf 364 days of the year let him have one day) because of his fangs and ‘drop-dead beauty’ (his words).
He radiates heat like a furnace but somehow still finds a way to be cold at night?
Kiba has a good singing voice. It’s deep and melodious and no one can tell me differently.
He’s alright at regular cooking but amazing at gathering spices because he can smell the combinations and stuff so he’ll help you season things, but that’s about it.
He’s a huge overthinker please help him
Little Things~
Favorite:
Place to kiss: The space where your neck meets your shoulder, something about it just really riles him up.
Way to hug: He loves lifting you up so your legs wrap around his waist. He loves holding you and being able to kiss your neck.
Thing to do with you: He loves hiking or going on long walks, especially at sunset or sunrise.
Cuddle position: He actually loves to lay on your chest and listen to your heartbeat with your arms wrapped around him.
Type of date: Basically anything that includes physical activity or adventure.
This or That:
More of a spring person, a lot of new puppies are born then and the weather is finally nice again.
Morning kind of guy, he loves to go go go and his activities usually require daylight.
He likes to cook, even if he’s not that good at it. He’ll enjoy helping you in the kitchen.
Rarely reads for any reason. Don’t read to him either, he’ll be super bored.
Conflict Happenings~
The two of you will probably have more stupid ‘I’m right, you’re wrong’ type arguments, more than real fights tbh.
That is not to say that Kiba won’t participate in a fight. Cause he will.
The both of you are probably screaming so loudly no one knows what anyone is saying it’s just loud.
You getting mad will turn him on tbh (and vice versa too tbh)
Depending on how bad the fight is, he might just start making out with you or yell at you more for distracting him with your hotness.
You’ll be hard-pressed to make him back down during a fight if he’s truly heated, so pick your battles wisely hun.
He really can be sensitive, especially since he will value your opinion so much, so be careful with your words.
In general, he’s not really focused on hurting your feelings, more on winning the argument.
Will probably storm off for a while to calm down, but he is always back before the day is over.
The two of you are used to having fights like that, so a big cuddle session is in order when it’s all said and done.
Modern Kiba~
He’s definitely the sexy bad boy you couldn’t bring home to mother and he both owns and rocks his persona.
He secretly (not so secretly) likes dogs more than his peers, even if he is usually very social.
He’s the one who always manages to bring alcohol to the parties.
I could see him on a football or soccer team, and being really good too.
He’s charismatic, funny, good looking, street smart, and has all the It Man™ qualities and I know he’s the captain/president of some club or team.
He’s not naturally super smart but his mother ingrained good habits into him so he’s generally pretty good at studying, probably still has a tutor though.
He’s a very subtle F-boy, has a few girls he does regularly that don’t know about each other and that’s that.
He probably has a part-time job at a shelter, since he’s not big on working.
Always at parties and is always the center of attention. Everyone loves him.
The red fangs were a result of him being absolutely hammered yet everyone seemed to find them incredibly hot.
He’s a loyal friend, but he also won’t hesitate to cut you off if you wrong him (he liked his dog better anyway)
He’s so messy it’s up to his roommate to keep him in shape, and thankfully it’s Shino, who somehow manages to keep it a decently tidy living space.
Has the worst hangovers ever but still never learns??
He’s the wild friend that spices up everyone’s life and knows that you need his craziness.
Bite me, Kiba, plz

Damsel, Not in Distress
Jungkook x reader, Spiderman!Jungkook, GN!Reader: one shot
:: warnings: swearing, school
Pain is temporary, GPA is forever — @finah on Twitter
I’m a Damsel with Distress, but I'm pretty fine here.
Tumblr media
How you found yourself in the situation you’re currently in, you didn’t entirely know. Was it incredibly weird? Oh definitely. Actually, let’s go to the beginning of your day and see how you found yourself bound with rope and feeling your nihilistic attitude grow so much more.
Now it had been a relatively normal day, at first. You got out of bed a little later than what your alarm had been set to. You’d stayed up the night before to work on an assignment that wasn’t even due until the next week, but you wanted the weekend to be free so that you could relax. Still, you did leave in time to get to school without being late though, which you considered a win considering you really didn't want to be in the building.
When you got to your classes, the students were a little too loud for your sensitive ears and you wanted to just sleep the day away, but just went through the day best you could. The end of the day for you had come around pretty quick, nothing really happened, not that you’d expect anything to, but the events that would lead to you being tied up with rope started with lunch with your friends.
“(Y/n)! Over here!”
You’d been called over to a table where your usual rag tag group of misfits were, but there was an extra guy there. You recognized him as someone you'd talked to a couple times and he was pretty cute, you’d say you had a minor crush on him. His name was Jungkook, really smart guy, super sweet, kind of quiet unless he was with his friends, an all around Nice Guy, but actually a nice guy.
He didn’t look like he could hurt a fly. Oh how wrong you were.
To be honest, seeing him at your table surprised you, he was a mutual friend of yours, but it was weird seeing him in the lunch room. He was more the type to stay away from large groups of people and staying with his friends, only coming in occasionally if they were desperate for food, but you weren’t opposed to him joining the group.
“Oh hey Jungkook, hope I don’t sound like a jerk, but what’re you doin at lunch? You usually don’t come in here.”
It was a genuine question and you hoped you didn’t come off as rude, since you often didn't see him within the general vicinity of the cafeteria, to quote him from a conversation you once had asking about the same general topic: “people are gross and I would rather stub my left pinky toe than step foot in that nasty ass room.”
"Oh— Namjoon, Jin, and Yoongi had some studying to do for their exams since they have them next week, Hobi finished his classes for today and bailed, and Jimin and Tae are hanging with some of their friends in the gym. I didn't feel like tagging along this time, they were really sweaty."
He pushed his hair back as he was talking, what a cutie.
"Damn, well welcome to our little trouble group."
With that all of you ate your lunches with little pieces of banter here and there, nothing really significant to point out. Once lunch ended though, you and Jungkook headed out together since you'd started an interesting conversation about the city's Friendly Neighborhood Spider-man™.
"I don't know man, Spider-man needs a break, poor dude goes out like every day! He gets his ass beat—"
"Wow, rude—"
"He wins! I'm not saying he doesn't win! I'm just saying he gets hurt and probably doesn't have enough time to heal completely before going out the next day to deal with the next day's bullshit!"
Jungkook had to admit, this isn't how he thought the conversation would turn out. It started with you saying how you’d give your left lung to give him a hug and then it diverted into the current topic. The conversation ended once you had gotten to your apartment, and after saying goodbye Jungkook went back to his place. It was near, gotta stay close to the school to save gas money, and he thought a little about what you said. You were right, he didn't get breaks and was rarely healed up enough, even with his super regeneration. It was... nice to see some concern from someone other than Tony.
Deciding to not think too much about it, he put his stuff away and got suited up for his usual patrolling around the city. He also got ready to his favorite person, you. At some point on one of his patrols he wasn’t really paying attention to his surroundings, he was thinking about what he should have for dinner, ramen or do his homework until 2 am, truly an important question to ask himself. Anyway, he had been swinging by the apartments that were nearest the campus and saw your window open with you belting out the lyrics to Chop Suey!
This caused him to stumble and he flew directly into the space right by your open window. This scared you and embarrassed him, he truly never wanted to perish more than in that moment. You, being the nice person you are, asked if he was okay and after hearing confirmation invited him in to your room to have a drink. Was it dangerous of you to do so? Yeah, but at that moment you weren’t exactly thinking too clearly, Spider-man just smacked face first into the bricks of the wall after all.
From that day on, he had visited your apartment and a little friendship had begun to form. Back to the present day, Jungkook just made it to your apartment window when something didn’t seem right. For one, your window was wide open. Now it wouldn’t seem to weird to anyone else, but you only kept yours halfway open and with the big screen over it, this time there was no big screen and it was open all the way. The second thing to tip off that something wasn’t right was that there was no sign of you in your room, but it was like a tornado went through it.
The papers that would usually be on your desk were all over your floor, your water bottle had spilled everywhere, and your backpack looked like it had been thrown across your room with the contents all over the place. You weren’t here, but you had been briefly before you disappeared.
Now he was panicking, as both Spider-man and Jungkook, you were significant to both his hero life and his personal life. Frantically he began turning over stuff in your room trying to find anything that could point to where you could have gone. He then found an envelope, no address, it didn't say your name on it and it wasn't opened. There was something about the envelope that just didn't seem right, so he opened it.
It was written for him, and he took off to the address within it.
You were kidnapped. Because of Spider-man, no, because Jungkook had been around you too often as Spider-man and now you could be in danger or worse, dead.
He'd never swung through the city so fast. At this point he wasn't being careful he was just frantically swinging as fast as he could to the address of a warehouse that was used to house cranes and bulldozers. He arrived and swung into an open window, it led to the top floor where workers could go to fix the roof.
As he landed there he finally let some rational thinking take hold of him and surveyed the area, where were you?
"Karen, could you do a check for heat signatures?"
"Of course, Jungkook."
The eyes in Jungkook's mask had changed the vision from the usual clear view to a heat radar, with it he could see every person and got a scan for them. You weren't there, he looked harder and eventually found a body, tied to the top of a crane, placed over a makeshift kennel, with the roof open, of rabid animals fighting each other. Well this certainly can't be good.
"Karen, that's not a good sign right? Rabid animals attack whatever moves in front of them?"
"That would be a yes, Jungkook."
Immediately he springs into action, webbing together everyone he saw to different areas and wrapping them up in webs. He narrowly missed the shots of guns that were pointed towards him, and stayed high up in the building to make it harder for them to aim at him.
He lands on the crane that you're on, the crane swinging slightly and makes a move to grab you, but the sound of something powering up stops him. There, on the ground with a smirk aimed at Jungkook is a man with a scar that takes up most of his face and a large weapon shaped like a bazooka and with other weapons pointed towards you both.
"Well, if it isn't Spider-man, here to save the damsel in distress?"
You, who had been blindfolded turned your head in the direction of the voice, "I'm not a damsel in distress so shut your trap, you soggy testicle looking ass bitch!"
Jungkook whips his head at you, Karen offhandedly commenting on him getting whiplash, and takes off your blindfold.
"Name calling? At a time like this?"
Blinking at the sudden flooding of light into your oh so sensitive eyes, you see your friend, absolute madd ladd of a companion Spider-man.
"Spider-buddy! Nice to see ya!"
Jungkook could have fallen off the crane had his feet not been stuck on it.
"I– you're tied up right now? How are you so calm?"
Shrugging best you could, you make a face, "can't really do much considering I'm pretty tied up at the moment, pun intended."
Now he had been expecting you to be panicked, terrified, maybe crying? This, though, was definitely nothing like he had anticipated. You always continue to surprise him.
You wiggle a little and wince as your side stung a little. When you were taken from your apartment they hit you in the side and knocked you out. Felt a bit like overkill to you, but you did say some obscene things and threatened their genitals so you found it fair. Jungkook just stares at you, making you just a bit uncomfortable, but he spaces out pretty often so you didn't think too much about it. Ignoring the very possible death that is only about a hundred feet away and the pain in your side and head, you try to start a conversation.
"Sooooo how's it goin?"
Both Jungkook and the dude who kidnapped you look at you incredulously and yell:
"Really?!"
Startled, your body jolts and the ropes binding you slip a little and your body falls just a bit.
"Oh that's probably not good—"
"Are you really asking that now? You– you're tied… to a crane… above rabid animals? Along with multiple weapons pointed at you? You're not even the tiniest bit worried?"
In your mind you’re thinking, ‘why hasn’t he gotten me down yet?’ To be fair to Spider-man, you are placed pretty precariously over rabid animals and have multiple weapons pointed towards you both. Anyway, the words that leave your actual mouth:
"Gotta be honest, my GPA and financial status instill more fear in me than the dude that looks like literal bacon over there."
Your voice got louder towards the last bit of your sentence and both of the men look at you. Jungkook at this point was on the verge of having a heart attack. The other man in the room with you (the only one that isn't tied up) was feeling pretty offended and debating just putting you out of your misery.
You continued speaking.
"I mean, is this ideal? No, but it's something different and I can't exactly free myself, y'know no powers or anything like that, so I guess I'm just here. Oh and uh Spider-buddy? My ropes are kind of slipping by the way, so if you could pretty please with a big fat cherry on top pick your dick up and help a friend out that'd be great."
Jungkook, finally snapping out of his stupor, just noticed that your ropes were in fact slipping and grabbed your torso, untying you and swinging you both away as the villain below began shooting, narrowly missing each fire.
"'Pick your dick up,' really?"
You put your face into his neck, telling him to shut up.
Before Jungkook left with you he told Karen to call the police and to arrest the people in the warehouse. He places your body on the top floor, where he came in through a window, and went back down to the villain to web him up. This time, he was not as good at avoiding the weapons firing at him while he goes around him firing his spider webs. By this time the people who had been webbed up were freed by their comrades with knives. He gets hit in the side by a bullet and falters in the air while he grips his left side, well this isn’t good.
"So I didn't get to ask this before, but why did you take this school suffering student?"
The villain just looks at Jungkook's mask, where the eyes are.
"Well to hurt you of course, being close to others only makes it easier for people like me to hurt you. Be grateful I didn't do anything too bad. I may be a villain, but I’m not a monster."
Jungkook stills, did you end up getting hurt? He didn’t recall Karen mentioning anything about you being injured. Then again he was too worried about you to think clearly. His thoughts slowly began taking over his mind and during this the man in front of him pulled a knife and slashed it at his face. That action startles Jungkook, the knife cutting through his suit and marking his face.
He knocked the man out and went back to you as he stumbled, hearing the police with his super hearing and swings away with you held close to him. Finally your both back at your apartment, and go into your room where you see how much of a mess it is.
"Ugh this is gonna be a pain to clean up, sorry about the mess."
Jungkook, kind of upset with how nonchalant you've been, rips off his mask so fast your mind begins reeling and just starts to shout at you.
"What the fuck are you talking about?! You got kidnapped, because of me! I could care less about how your room looks like right now, how are you so calm? You could have been hurt or been killed and your saying sorry for your room? I could have lost you today, (y/n)! What if I hadn’t visited you today and because of that you died? This is serious!”
He finishes his shouting, panting heavily while you just stare at him. It’s Jungkook. Jungkook is Spider-man and has been visiting you for months. Once it finally dawns on you that his mask is now off and his face is showing, you run to your window closing and shutting the blinds. As well as locking your bedroom door after quickly checking to see if your roommate is home.
Thankfully they aren't, most likely spending the night at their girlfriend's place. Bless them and their relationship.
"Okay, you can be mad at me for being all nonchalant, but you've been hiding this! You're Spider-man, you're constantly in danger and you're getting mad at me?! Jeon Jungkook you could have died on any of the patrols you do and I wouldn’t know what happened to you, none of us would know!"
Jungkook, realizing he took off his mask in a short fit of anger, steps back a little. Both of you are breathing slightly heavy, taking a pause to think over all the events that had just happened in a short time. The one to make the first move is Jungkook who just grabs you and hugs you tightly to his chest.
Not expecting it, you awkwardly place one arm around his shoulders and the other around his waist. Closing your eyes and just rubbing his shoulders blades to help calm him down, he was shaking ever so slightly in your grasp.
“Jungkook, not to ruin the mood, but did you get hurt? I know that sounds dumb because you have a cut on your face, but I’m just asking to be sure you’re not hurt anywhere else.”
His shoulders tense under your hand.
“And don’t lie to me, I can feel the wound on your left side and it’s kind of grossing me out right now.”
He let's go of you and sits down on your desk chair, his head was down and he looked a little dazed. You left your room briefly to get a towel, a bowl of water, your first aid kit and a glass of water for Jungkook.
"Here, I'd say drinking some water is good right now."
He leans his body back in the chair, wincing at the ache in his side, and looks at you.
"What about you? How are you feeling?"
You were getting the hydrogen peroxide and a gauze pad from your kit when you stopped. Your head had a dull ache, but you didn't think much of it. You were coherent, able to form sentences and move freely, so technically you were fine. The chances of you having a concussion though? More likely than you think, but you’ll get it checked out when your done with Jungkook. The ache in your side though, that needed some ice.
"For the most part… good? I got hit in the head so I'll need to get that checked out later, and I have ice so I can slap that on my side."
He lets out a loud sigh, bordering on groaning.
“Please take care of yourself, I’d rather not hear that you died from getting a concussion.”
You let air out through your nose in a silent laugh, which was so inappropriate it's not funny you're just uncomfortable. Spraying some of the hydrogen peroxide on Jungkook’s face causes him to wince as the solution fizzes, you walk around your room tidying up a little bit against your own better judgement. You should probably be laying down or calling an ambulance, but with Wonder Boy here you feel guilty just leaving him.
Also if your friend decided to come home early and just walk right into your room it’d be damn near impossible to explain why he was there in the first place.
“Turn your head to me,” you wipe the solution from his face with the gauze, “you’re lucky that the cut isn’t too deep, it doesn’t look like you’ll need stitches.”
He lets out a puff of air causing you to scrunch your face.
“That is some musty ass breath, Kook.”
He laughs, which makes him wince as he grabs at his side. Immediately, you move his hand to look at his side.
“Alrighty so I’m gonna need you to turn yourself so I can look at both sides, if the bullet is still there it shouldn’t bother you, but if not then that’s where the problem is.”
It seemed luck had finally been on both of your sides, there was no exit wound and he wasn’t coughing up any coffee grounds looking substance so there was no internal bleeding. All pretty good, just gonna need to clean the wound which would be a bitch and a half, but better than getting an infection.
Telling Jungkook this was not fun, going through with it was worse. He immediately went to bed in your clean, nicely made— just kidding your bed was a mess. You made him take off his suit and gave him some sweatpants that were big on you, and a giant shirt that you had. You really liked oversized clothes, so what?
With the shower he took, the bandages on his side and face, and the medicine you gave him for pain the minute his head touched your pillow he fell asleep. In the meantime, you picked up the things in your room that didn’t make much noise.
Eventually you went to bed on the couch in the living room, a little uncomfortable but you refused to sleep in the same bed with Jungkook. He had other plans though, he had sensitive ears and could hear you tossing and turning in your sleep. He left your room and went to the couch where he picked you up and brought you to your bed and laid there with you.
Arm draped around your form, you both slept soundly after such a stressful day. Truthfully, you were the “Damsel in Distress,” but if your hero was Spider-Man, and Jeon Jungkook, you didn’t mind.

Yes hi. Do you have anything on Analogince? Hcs, fics, art? I just got dragged into that hell and I plan to stay there forever
I don’t think I’ve ever writtenanything for them, but here’s some headcanons.
Also this got loooong and I still didn’twrite out all my thoughts, but it’s 1 in the morning so I’m going to cut it hereand hopefully add more later. ^_^
Roman is the one who brings themtogether as friends at first.
If it was up to Virgil and Logan, they’d stay inside all day and not socialize with the rest of the world.
So much to do, so many possible confrontationsto avoid, better to avoid the trouble.
But Roman has a way of moving people.
He throws their schedules upside downand gets them to come out of their shells in ways they didn’t know possible.
And somehow they don’t hate it.
Roman is bright, idealistic, andpassionate. Sensitive as he is strong.
He’s like a puppy ready to take onthe world.
Logan and Virgil silently agreethat they must protect the puppy. He’s cute but kinda dumb.
Logan and Virgil aren’t quite sure whyRoman’s so insistent on being around them. They think he’ll get boredeventually.
Roman never gets bored. He actually thinksthey’re really cool and he just wants to impress them.
Logan and Roman share a passion forwriting. They can sit and talk for hours about ideas and phrases and metaphors.
Roman writes his own stories. It’s a bigdeal for him to share his writing and open himself to criticism.
Roman shares his work with them.
Logan becomes the editor he never knew heneeded.
Logan has a way of correcting thelogistics of Roman’s writing without tearing him down.
Virgil doesn’t contribute much to thoseconversations, but he likes listening to them a lot.
Whenever Roman asks Virgil for storyideas, Virgil’s go to is, “Make a meteor crash down,” or something of the sort.
Virgil mostly bonds with Roman over music.
They have a lot of similar tastes andfavorite bands.
Roman’s a big musical fan, but Virgil’snever really listened to any musicals.
Roman gets Virgil into musicals. Virgildoesn’t tell him he’s succeeded at first.
Roman catches Virgil humming, “Michael inthe Bathroom,” one day and squeals loudly in glee.
“Oh my god, Be More Chill? When didthis happen? We have so much to talk about!!!”
Logan doesn’t care for most of the musicaltalk.
UNTIL HAMILTON IS DISCOVERED.
“So do you like it?” Roman asks, on theedge of his seat as Logan listens to some of the songs.
Logan fucking loves it.
He goes into full history rants and howwell blended the story is for a modern medium and THE LYRICS!!
It’s one of the first times the othersrealize just how passionate of a person Logan can be.
When he’s interested in something, he’sinvested with his entire soul.
In the beginning Logan held off fromshowing this side of himself, not wanting to scare off the other two.
But more and more he’ll get this excitedgleam in his eyes and just go off about a subject.
He makes even the most mundane topicssound new and worthwhile.
A lot of times he’ll cut himself off.
“Oh, my apologies. I’m probably boringyou.”
Roman and Virgil quickly shake theirheads.
“No! Please continue! You’re hot—I mean, you’re not boring us!”
Virgil especially likes listening to Logantalk.
He’s never heard a more calming tone. There’s just something incredibly safe about his voice.
Or maybe that’s just Logan in general, smart and dependable as he is.
Regardless, Virgil will close his eyessometimes while listening to Logan.
He’ll call Logan when he’s feelinganxious.
“Talk about anything,” Virgil willrequest.
After a pause, Logan will respond with, “Haveyou heard about *insert random subject here*.”
Sometimes Virgil relaxes so much that hefalls asleep listening to him.
Speaking of voices, Virgil loves Roman’svoice too.
His usual voice is okay, a bit too loudmaybe but rich and deep.
But then one day Virgil hears him sing.
Roman goes into song, and Virgil immediatelystops whatever he’s doing and stares.
Roman eventually notices the slightlystartled stare. He stops with a smirk. “Impressed, Hot Topic?”
And Virgil hasn’t regained quite enoughsense to respond with the usual banter. Instead, he just nods in wonder, looking at Roman in a newfound light.
The honest response does things to Roman.
It’s only fair. That voice does plenty toVirgil.
Virgil’s always been a sucker for prettyvoices.
But a cute guy with a voice like an angel?
Virgil is very gay and very doomed.
Virgil is the first to fall for the othersin a romantic sense.
He keeps it to himself of course. Ofcourse he couldn’t be normal and just crush on one of them. Fate was cruel anddemanded it be both of them.
And of course neither of them wouldreciprocate. Better to just repress that shit and move on like nothinghappened.
Roman was always kinda low-key into theothers, but for all that he presents himself as the romantic, he’s incredibly apprehensivewhen it comes to romance for himself.
He’s got a lot of deep-rooted insecuritiesburied in there. He doesn’t know if he’s ready to dig all that up.
So he does his best to distance hisconscious mind from going in that direction, even while his heartsubconsciously falls slowly over time.
Logan simply never pictured himself in anykind of romantic context.
He just never thought about it is all, never felt a particular want for it.
But then stuff starts happening betweenhim and the other two.
One time Virgil’s close to having a panicattack, and Logan grounds him by taking his hand.
“I want you to squeeze my hand Virgil. Don’tworry, you will not hurt me.”
And it’s enough contact to keep Virgilconnected yet small enough not to overwhelm him.
It helps immensely.
Logan sees this and starts using thismethod frequently. Not just when Virgil’s super anxious.
They’re in a somewhat crowded store andVirgil fidgets slightly? Logan holds his hand.
They’re sitting together on the couch andVirgil’s stressed trying to formulate a business email? Logan holds his hand.
Virgil is confused and gay.
Virgil does not bring attention to thehand holding, only panics internally because WHY IS LOGAN SUDDENLY HOLDING HISHAND ALL THE TIME?
Virgil doesn’t let go of his hand eitherthough.
And then with Roman, Roman is veryphysically affectionate.
Roman will often come up from behind anddrape himself over Logan.
“Speeeeecs, I’m hungry. Feed me.”
Logan thought he was annoyed by the breachin personal space at first.
But more and more Logan starts realizingthat he’s more annoyed when Roman doesn’t breach his personal space.
Roman hasn’t hugged him or thrown an armcasually over his shoulder in a while?
Logan will look at Roman more, eyessquinted, trying to figure him out and then himself out and wondering why he’sso bothered.
Logan eventually concludes that he likesbeing physically close with Roman.
When Roman takes too long to initiateaffection, Logan does it for him.
Logan will pointedly sit down right besideRoman and lean against him.
“Watchya doing, Microsoft Nerd?” Roman asks, blinking at the not-at-all subtle approach Logan’s taking.
Logan doesn’t look at him, choosing toopen a book. “I’m getting comfortable to read, isn’t it obvious?”
For some reason Roman gets a little shywhen the others initiate affection.
Roman has long since been used to havingto be the one to initiate things.
It’s kinda…really nice, not to have to askfor things.
The three of them start becoming very comfortablewith physical affection.
Roman will often lay his head in Virgil’slap, and Virgil will scratch at his hair while scrolling on his phone.
Roman melts under the touch.
It’s one of the few times he’s evercompletely silent. He’s always burning with the urge to move, to create!
In these moments, he can happily soak inthe peace.
Logan feels warm and content when he seesthe two of them like that.
Considering that in addition to all ofthese other signs, Logan has an epiphany moment.
He is attracted to the other tworomantically.
It’s a fairly shocking realization forsomeone who’s never experienced such a thing before.
Logan takes it in stride though.
He starts listing out the pros of them allbeing together.
The three of them work better togetherthan alone, he concludes.
With that in mind, Logan approaches theother two and asks them out.

Chan’s Ideal Type - Natal Chart Reading
Happy Birthday Chan~ 🎉 Thank you for inventing kpop 💛posted early cuz i managed to get it done in time for when it’s actually his bday in korea!
For ideal types, I’m not going to be doing specific placements of their ideal partner. Instead, I’m gonna be listing personality traits I think would mesh well with them, as well as focus on their needs and the kind of person who could meet them. what this reading cannot account for is the compromising the members would do on their end for their s/o. so just keep in mind this is only half of the whole picture!
someone very smart.
he’s a very communicative person.
he wants to discuss and have an exchange of knowledge and passion thanks to that aqua sun and mercury.
with a sag influence there is a desire to surround himself with knowledge, and i think he’d be very attracted to someone who could be considered a professional/expert in their field.
he’d not only really respect it, but it’d feel exciting to know and communicate with someone who is so deeply involved in a career/lifestyle different from his.
he’d love to pick their brain, and it would generally make him feel like his life is being enriched.
sag also adds a desire for travel as it expands ones perspective.
so derived from that, he may want to be with someone who is both not in the entertainment biz as well as someone potentially from a different country/culture.
chan is a really interesting mix being of very knowledgable and curious (aqua/sag), passionate and active (sag), dedicated and stubborn (aqua/scorpio), mixed with this very thoughtful and emotional influence (pisces/scorpio).
he has a very well-rounded chart (potentially tunnel visioned) but he’s a very sincere guy.
he’s present on almost all fronts, and isn’t very afraid of emotions or emotional intensity.
so he wants someone with a great deal of intelligence, as well as  emotional intelligence.
he’s also very honest, and with this brings a very low tolerance for people who may be overly concerned with appearances.
this is due to his aquarius influence valuing individuality over conformity, as well as his scorpio mars that gives him a very keen eye for shallowness.
it’s not that he wouldn’t like someone who looked/dressed a certain way, but if he felt as though there was something blocking him from gaining his s/o’s full attention, or something preventing them from leveling with him -- that’d really frustrate him.
so with this kind of “truth-seeking” attitude about life, he’s going to want someone very upfront, honest, and unapologetic in how they carried themselves/acted with him.
not even in a sense of them being rebellious or super eccentric, he just wants someone who doesn’t feel the need to put up any fronts around him or has a perception of what they should be together vs. to others.
if he feels like there is a wall, he’s not going to have a lot of patience in trying to accommodate that in his daily life.
this is also emphasized by his pisces influence, but not necessarily in a discerning “ur being fake” sense.
he is incredibly intuitive in relationships because of his pisces venus, and this makes him conscious of other people’s energies.
so he’s very hyperaware if he feels like there is this wall, as it’d feel like there is this connection error to him. he’s very quick to notice if their energies are being withheld/directed elsewhere.
layers, on the other hand, are very different from walls.
his scorpio mars loves people with depth, both emotionally and intellectually.
his s/o should be very complex & have a bunch of different sides to them as he loves feeling like he’s delving deeper and seeing parts of his s/o only he can see.
his s/o should be very open to deep and philosophical conversations.
they should also be different enough from him that there is a feeling of discovery as they get to know each other, as well as a decent amount of friction/push back as this is very rewarding to a scorpio/aqua influence.
but with this sense of difference/friction.
it’s interesting because with a well-rounded chart like his, he’s obviously able to get along with people similar to him, while also having this ability to communicate and empathize with people much different from him as well.
and so, personally, i think there are a bunch of factors in dino’s chart that point towards him being attracted to those very different.
one of them being, with his rising in aries, this puts his descendent in libra.
i’ve been talking a lot about descendants but i haven’t really gotten too much into what they mean.
so your rising sign is very highly linked not only to your identity, but to your perspective and to your approach on life/people.
it’s the energy you excert.
with aries in his rising this makes him a very straightforward, ambitious, energetic, and excitable person.
his approach to life is very hands-on.
and so if you think about your rising as a kind of magnetic pole, on the exact opposite side of it is an energy that is intrinsically attracted to your rising sign in order to balance it out.
so on the opposite side of his rising you have this very diplomatic, intellectual, and easygoing presence through libra.
this is the descendent, which is also the cusp for the 7th house which is the house of love, marriage, and partnership.
so having libra in his descendent/7th house signifies an incorporation of external energies to the self through partnership.
to me, there are a bunch of different interpretations/applications of it in a reading, but i generally tend to read it as compromise.
i see it as what this individual most likely needs to take into account when sharing their life with someone else.
for chan, this manifests as him learning to be more diplomatic and thoughtful than he initially feels inclined to be.
it’d be about thinking “other” when he’s more focused on thinking “me.”
so what this means for an ideal type can kind of go in a bunch of different ways, but i think the most simplest reading would be that he’d more than likely be drawn/destined to be with someone who is going to force him to think.
he’s going to want to be with someone who forces him to stop before acting, and to take into account the general group as opposed to his own agenda.
teaching him to think more broadly than simply what he can immediately affect.
and this more or less loops in his pisces venus.
his pisces venus is a very gentle, loving influence to have in relationships.
he’s an ultra empath, generally really impressionable and easily swayed as he’s super inclined to try and understand others.
this is an influence that can kind of throw his truth-seeking scorpio through a loop, as his pisces can be easily swayed by romance and emotion.
this danger is especially relevant considering the idealist/optimist that his sag moon is that makes him maybe not the most discerning of negative intent if someone is charismatic enough.
so this is an influence that both needs to be reeled in as well as embraced.
his s/o should be as equally emotionally open and very privy to non-verbal communication through affection and that emotional intelligence.
he wants a relationship where they’re able to understand what the other needs without putting it in so many words.
they should also able to understand when each other needs space.
but with that, he’d also really benefit being with someone who is grounded/realistic enough in their perspective to ensure that he doesn’t get lost in this super compassionate/sensitive part of him without him needing to shut it off entirely.
i also think this stabilizing influence in a s/o other is really important for him with this pisces venus as he may have a tendency to get lost in thoughts/emotions.
he is such an individualistic person thanks to this aqua/sag/scorpio, but his pisces may come in and create a sense of disillusion where he can lose his grasp on what that means for him especially in relationships.
so someone who really and genuinely loves him for him, who isn’t going to incorporate a sense of self-doubt/consciousness in how emotional he is, while also truly encouraging him to go out there and do his thing.
they should allow him to be all the things that come easily to him, may it be passion or emotion, while teaching him balance and stability.
his s/o other should reinforce his sense of self, not dilute it.
and now that i’m writing this i want to make a point in perspective.
in relationships, no one should ever feel “diluted” or that they need to compromise on what being themselves means.
but for dino, since his perspective is so individualistic, there are certain circumstances that he may view as restrictive that to others will not.
lets say for a cancer influence, these people really like security, company, and are pretty comfortable with the idea of being someone else’s person as this gives them a sense of belonging/purpose. these “restrictions” add to their sense of self
for an aquarius influence, this may seem a bit off-putting as they want the space/freedom to continue to pursue being their authentic self in whatever way that may mean to them. for this influence, these definitely feel more like restrictions.
i think it’s also really interesting doing this reading because i really get the sense he wants to look to his s/o other for strength, guidance, and knowledge.
and for that reason i can see him wanting to be with someone older.
as much as he wants to offer these energies to someone else, he may find it much more exciting to discover rather than impart.
i also think this is shown in his rising/descendent.
with his rising being in aries, the first sign of the astrological cycle, this gives him a very young perspective.
then you go to his descendent in libra, and there is a sense of maturing in relationships that i think is very indicative of that “older” influence.
“older” in quotations mainly because i don’t think it indicates a large age gap but rather more so just a dynamic.
but overall, chan is just a super kind guy.
he wants a relationship filled with compassion and intellectual understanding.
communication is an absolute pillar and his s/o should agree on that.
there’s a desire in him for stability, and this could be implemented through push-back, discussion, and contrast.
and i think if i had to narrow it down to one specific thing he desires in a relationship, that’d be variety.
he wants to learn and grow in relationships, and for his world to be ultimately broadened.

Chapter Twenty Two
Tumblr media
.✫*゚・゚。.☆.*。・゚✫*.
The meeting is quick. It’s just a quick, few minute long gathering where Adamus explains to the officers how long today’s mission should take. By the time we’re done, the Harbinger is already coming out of hyperspace, with Circe over the comms telling everyone to be shut up.
Adamus and I split off outside the door and agree to meet back in the main room in a few minutes. I stride back to the dorm quickly. I feel bad about changing from the new outfit that Aheka gifted me. It truly is lovely. But I slip on some binding and thin armor underneath, then around my wrists and forearms. Overtop the dark tunic I put a deep red poncho and fasten my lightsaber back to my belt. Then I rebraid my hair and leave to meet Adamus.
Aheka catches me on the way out. She widens her eyes and fully leaves her conversation, and she looks excited to see me. “Hey!” she beams, half whisper half shout. “I’ve been waiting for you. You ready?”
“Yeah I’m all good.”
“Are you going to be gone long?” she questions, brows furrowing with concern.
She’s asking a lot of questions. I don’t know how to feel about that, or what it means.
“A while, I’d assume.”
“You’ll be safe, won’t you? Do you need any supplies?”
“No,” I assure with a shake of my head. My stomach is prickling with warmth at so many words I’ve never heard directed at me before. Worry. How many people have ever worried about me before? One. At least… one. “I’ll be alright.”
“Okay,” Aheka nods. “Okay.” Her long fingers reach out to mine. I follow them with my eyes, trying to keep myself still instead of rearing back. It makes me anxious. I can feel my heartbeat speeding up, her hands just ghosting over the stump of the missing finger. Then Aheka’s hands wrap around into my own, clutching around my fingers both gentle and squeezing.
“Come back?” Aheka says. “Please?”
“Yeah,” I say after a moment. “I will.”
We stay still for a moment, staring at each other. I wonder what she’s thinking about. But maybe it didn’t really matter all that much in the end, because I only know what I’m thinking about.
I’m thinking that I’ve never had someone be so intimate with me. I didn’t even know this kind of intimacy existed. The skin on skin, the eye contact, the way only us are existing at this exact point in time. How lucky am I to exist at the same time as her? To share a place with her? To have someone like her care about me as if we were family. I am in her heart and in her mind, and it makes me feel something strange and abstract and indescribable. I want more.
“Keres.”
Aheka’s hands slip away. I look to my right to see Adamus coming towards us. “You ready?”
“Yeah,” I say. “You?”
“I’ve got everything. You be alright, Aheka?”
“Just fine,” she replies with a smile. “You still dropping?”
“Drop?” I question with a raised eyebrow.
Adamus’s lips curve up ever so slightly. You wouldn’t be able to see it if you weren’t looking for it. “You’ll see.”
“Adamus!” Circe calls from the cockpit. “We’re over it!”
“Come on, Keres,” Adamus tells me. “Blitz is coming too.”
The Clone?
I decide to keep my mouth shut. Maybe if we’re lucky, we’ll lose him somewhere. Then I can get rid of him for good and not have to lose sleep over him.
He appears from one of the doorways, which I promptly look away from. Instead I inch my way over to Circe in the cockpit, which I pretend is something casual but actually brings me immense comfort. Through the windows, I can see the planet below. It’s colorful, with skyscrapers and thousands of individual people bopping and weaving around. The only thing that’s especially off putting is the dusty, beige colored air of pollution and stink. It reminds me of Coruscant in a way.
Maybe a minute later, Adamus calls me away from the cockpit. I stand next to him by the door, while the Clone stands at the other side. Truthfully, I thought it would be just us- Adamus and myself. But I guess taking a Clone would be a smart decision, considering they’re talented at hunting force users. Especially killing them, if it comes to it.
“You remember what I said about dropping right?”
I turn my head to look at Adamus, who just barely has the ghost of a smile on his lips.
Oh.
“We’re jumping off the ship aren’t we?” I question, though I already know the answer as I turn back to the front.
“I’d call it more diving than anything, if we’re being honest.”
“Diving?” a sudden new voice pops up. I lean back and past Adamus’s shoulder line to see the Clone looking at him, a bewildered expression over his tough features. It’s so satisfying to see him in fear.
“You have problem with that, Blitz?” Adamus asks.
“With all due respect, I don’t know if I’m the one for the job here.”
“Of course you are,” Adamus smiles. There’s a long buzz, and the metal door in front of us slides open. New wind hits my face, and all I can see are beige and tan colored pollution clouds. “That’s why you’re going first.”
With a flick of his wrist, Blitz scoots to the end of the walkway before us, just hanging on by the tips of his toes. And then Adamus yells “See you down there, man!” and with a comedic scream the Clone disappears off the edge.
It’s quiet for a few seconds. Then I say, “So how are you going to catch him?”
“Hm?”
“Well Clones aren’t force sensitive, I don’t think. And we can slow ourselves down before we hit the ground so I’m pretty sure he can’t. But you’re up here… and he’s… down there…”
Adamus’s eyes widen. He looks to the clouds below, then back to me, then to the clouds. “We have to go now,” he urges. He jogs to the end of the platform and dives off, leaving me alone.
“Okay then,” I mutter to myself, trying to suppress my own smirk. Then I jump off too.
I can’t really explain what intentionally falling through the air feels like. I can’t think of a time where I’ve fallen or dived from such a height of thousands of feet up. Once, on Bracca, I almost slipped to my death over a great trash void before catching myself on a bar. I’ve jumped down from twenty foot heights, but that hardly counts as diving like this does to me.
I just let the wind go through me. I spread my arms and legs, feeling the rush. There’s air all around me, changing between hot and cold and breathy and soft. It’s harsh on my eyes, whipping my hair back, but I’m calm. In fact, it feels kind of incredible. It’s that freedom that I’ve always been wanting. Like I can do anything, like I can fall anywhere I want. Like I’m a free bird who could fly if I wanted to but chooses to do this instead.
But then it ends. I can see the cracked, almost desert ground coming closer and closer, and like a parachute behind me my body slows itself down. It pulls me upright into the standing position, until my toes just barely touch the ground. And I’m finally on the ground, and my stomach is still up in the clouds while my throat tries not to throw everything up.
Adamus lands next to me suddenly, and then he raises both his hands up towards the sound of a loud, loud scream. The Clone lands on the ground safely, though I’m not paying attention. My eyes are focused on the city up ahead, an array of lights and buildings.
Something doesn’t feel right, and it’s not just my stomach.
“General, permission to not do that again, please.”
“No promises, Blitz.”
“Adamus,” I say, turning to face him. It’s a silent question in my eyes, one that he can see and hear just fine. What do you know about this guy?
“Not much,” he says, shifting. His eyes search the city as well. “They’re here.”
The streets of Nar Shadaa are crowded. People of all kinds walk with grimaces, haggling, disappearing into the colorful doors of clubs and bars and shops. There’s dirt in the air, and transports above in the sky. Adamus leads, I come second, and the Clone is right behind me. A few minutes in, I slow down so it can go in front, and I stay all the way in the back.
I have to say, I find it impressive that Adamus can sense aspects of the force. He can sense people and memories and objects that I could not do so easily. My intuition only goes so far in fights, or just survival in general. Like I can feel what’s about to happen before it does. Adamus can feel other people. Perhaps he’s an empath.
I could not possibly relate to that.
Adamus stops and looks to the left. He doesn’t seem phased, so the Clone and I walk ahead of him. I turn to the right, facing a little shop. It’s crowded, with sleek black brick and pink neon lights for several signs. It’s not in Galactic Basic, so I can’t quite understand it. In the windows are several Twi’Leks with bright skin, brushing something against a large, white slab. Colors appear with every stroke. I think it’s paint, but I’ve never seen paint in action. I’ve only used rocks when I wanted to draw something.
It looks beautiful. None of the white slabs are fully colored in yet, and I can’t make out what the colors will become eventually, but it’s enough for me to enjoy. I stand for a full minute watching the scene, just observing quietly. A few people bump into me, but I don’t mind.
When I look back over to Adamus, his brows are furrowed at something in the distance. His soft brown hair is still, jaw sharp, mouth pulled into a frown. I look at him, watching his every move, and then behind him-
I hold my hands out towards the figure. A burst of energy enflames my arms, and bright blue arcs zap out of my fingers. They fly through the air, encaging the person behind Adamus. The boy ducks down, screams from civilians coming up around me. I don’t care about them. With twists of my wrists, the person flies up and back, straight through the glass windows of another shop.
Adamus stands up slowly, wide eyes, mouth agape, staring at me in bewilderment and horror. “Keres,” he says, hoarsely. “You could’ve killed somebody.”
Like that’s a bad thing. Plus, I saved your life.
I start a run towards the shop the figure crashed into, completely pushing over my comrade. My boots crunch against the glass, and just as I’m about to hop through the hole, something kicks me right in the stomach so hard, I fly backwards, all the way across the street, and into a wooden stall that crumbles around me on impact.
My shoulders ache. My neck burns. The back of my head throbs. This must be the force user. They are not friendly.
Adamus unhooks his lightsaber and ignites it. “Where’s Blitz?!” he calls to me, helping a few people from the ground and urging them to safety.
I groan in response, not able to see the Clone anywhere. That seems about right though. Not there when needed, but somewhere responsible for your death.
When I sit up, I see the figure come from the shop. It’s a tall man, with long, black hair and black markings on his face. His face is both pale and tanned, with a broad jaw and angry eyes. One is orange and red, the other black and white. His shoulders and muscles bulge under his ripped-up clothes, dirt scuffing his skin.
I can’t recognize him, but he I know he is not coming with us. Not even close.
Finally, I push myself up from the ground. A cut on my elbow stings, and for a second it reminds me of the scar I have from the Purge. But there’s no time to think about anything like that right now, so it quickly flies to the back of my mind.
This guy, whoever he is, is way bigger than me or Adamus. He’s a fully grown adult, for starters. You can see his muscles from under his dark, dirt ridden clothes. Even Adamus is pretty obviously stockier than myself, I don’t think he’s enough to match the man in front of us. I can’t tell how powerful he is either.
“We haven’t come to hurt you,” I hear Adamus say. In front of me, he’s raising one hand in an almost calming motion, attempting to diffuse the situation. “We’re just here to talk. She didn’t mean to hurt you. We didn’t mean to hurt you.”
I don’t know who ‘we’ is, but it did not include myself in this scenario.
So it seems me and boy wonder had different ideas of how to go about things at this point. Adamus is deciding to try to reason with the force user and stick to the original plan. No doubt, he’ll pay for the damage I’ve caused in the bizarre and keep he and I far away from each other.
I, on the other hand, am way too smart for that. When I zapped this guy, it was because he was coming up behind Adamus, ready to kill him. I could feel it in my gut and see it before it was even going to happen. And now they’ve I’ve caused a ruckus, there’s no use in trying to kiss and make up. We can’t beat him in sheer strength. I don’t know about sheer strength of the Force yet, but I’m still deciding whether I want to take that chance or not. I’ll have to find another way.
Another way… How am I going to get the both of us out of this one?
“We’ve come to speak to you about a proposition,” Adamus is still going. He’s doing it with enough acting to make me almost believe he’s being sincere and innocent in his intentions. “It’ll help more than just you. It’ll help the whole galaxy. Come with us and no one has to get hurt.”
The big man sneers. I could swear I hear him growl all the way from my position across the plaza. Both his eyes are trained on me, obviously still mad about our first encounter. That’s fine with me, but he’s making it awfully hard for me to not automatically respect him.
“Adamus,” I try, even though I know it won’t work. I keep my orbs locked with the force users. “I think that we should go home now.”
Immediately, he spits back, “No, we’re not doing that.” It sounds very annoyed and short.
“Listen to friend,” the big man says suddenly, his voice low and rumbling.
“Adamus, let’s go.”
"I’m not leaving.”
“I don’t leave either.” The man brandishes a cylinder from his hip, but this time I can see the metal of his arm glinting in the light, and I realize he has extra strength from some kind of cybernetic as well. A lightsaber jumps to life, green like sour fruits and bitter bugs. “Stay and play.”
Adamus won’t back down. He never would. That’s a difference between me and him. He would always stick around and keep pushing for the greater good. I would give up and strike a bargain for my own benefits.
The man seems distracted now, his eyes on Adamus. I’ll give him credit, wonder boy is set in stone right now. “What reason could you possibly have to not want to help the galaxy?”
I can’t remember the man’s answer. I was too busy beginning my slink to my right, my eyes glued onto a long tube of cable sparking on the ground.
“I favor loyalty to the good people of the world, then,” I hear wonder boy continue.
I’m bending down to pick it up, getting in a crouch position slowly so as not to draw eyes towards me.
“Then you are fool!” I hear the man say.
“If I’m such a fool, then come and prove it to me.”
Gods, Adamus is cocky.
Well, the man lunges forward. His speed is striking. He’s practically a blur. I would not be able to see him at all if my eyes were not on him in the first place. Even Adamus is stunned for a second, raising his own purple blade just a fraction of a second too late. The man is about to be on top of him, but my fingers grip around the cable too quick for the sparks to register in my nerves.
I whip my arm out with some help of the Force. Luckily, my plan works perfectly. The cable snaps around the man’s ankle and jolts him back. Electrical currents begin to pump from my body and the wire, frying him. When he screams and turns towards me like a mad bull, I jump to the second floor of the glass building a previously threw him into. Then I start running across the windowpane walls, dodging flying thin wires as he whips around the cable I used on him.
Adamus jumps on the man from behind and locks his arms under his chin so he can’t be thrown off. Without thinking, I take a wildly inaccurate guess and jump from the building with my saber outstretched. I think I’m about to kill the man- and so does Adamus, from the horrified look on his face- when I suddenly consider how stupid that action was. I’m reminded when the force user leans back and kicks me in my stomach for the second time, effectively causing me to whirl back and through a hole in the first-floor glass wreckage. I’m dizzy, with a heartbeat in my head. Just when I think it probably can’t get worse, the man rips Adamus’s arm away from him and throws him, like a ragdoll, onto me.
I’m forced back again, hitting the back of my head hard. Adamus’s sudden and unexpected weight is crushing me. It’s forcing me into the floor with the thousands of glass shards. I can already feel them beginning to sting into my skin.
“Children,” the man booms as he begins to stride towards us powerfully. “Useless.”
I try to shove Adamus off of me, but my fingers are sloppy, and it just comes off as a weak and pathetic mess. He doesn’t even move at all, and it’s becoming as clear as it can to me that both of us have concussions of some kind.
We’re both going to die. At least he feels warm.
We didn’t die, but only because the unlikeliest of things happened. Something starts shooting at the man, and when I see who it is, my mouth goes slightly agape.
It’s Blitz, hammering away at this guy with an automatic rifle non stop. The man isn’t falling over, but you can tell by the grunts and the blood spurts he’s taking damage. So me, being brilliant, just leaps at the first solid idea that comes forth.
Adamus’s saber flies into one hand, and the electrical cable flies into the other. I put the cable on the floor, push Adamus off me, and extend the purple light. The cable snaps around the force user’s ankle again, and just as he turns to look at me with wide, understanding eyes, I thrust the blade down into the cable. It erupts into bursts of blue flames and electricity. You can see the man’s giant skeleton as he screams in agony and stays completely still. Then the power runs out, and he collapses to the ground, smoking.
“Holy shit,” Adamus breaks the ice after a minute. “Holy shit.”
I turn around to face him, slowly. It feels like I’m stepping on the world’s most fragile winter lake, and it’ll shatter into a million pieces under me if I’m not careful.
“Is he dead?”
I hear shuffling. A second later, Blitz answers. “Looks like it, sir.”
“You killed him,” Adamus states, like he can’t believe it. “You killed an innocent person- both of you.”
Blitz comes up behind me, but this time I don’t flinch at all. We’re in line with each other at this very specific moment.
“Yeah,” I nod, my throat hoarse.
Adamus stands up, our eyes locked. We’re both a mess, with our hair tousled and dirt slashed across our faces. “You saved my life.”
And if you don’t understand the significance of that statement, it’s because I never would’ve done that before.

you mentioned possibly doing a ben or mike writing guide.. would you.. be willing to post a mike one. i'm plotting a fic and im struggling to get my mans down?? also i think abt ur fics weekly bare minimum.
hi there!!! i did my best. i tried to not sound preachy or like a know it all bc y’all know i can barely write. i hope this is helpful in some way!! disclaimer of of course this is all just my opinion & there’s no wrong way to write, you’re the only person who can tell your story!!
i think the first really important decision you have to make as Person Writing Mike is his
family & background
-are both of his parents alive?
-if yes, what’s their relationship like?
-if no, who’s his primary caretaker? what’s their relationship like?
-if no, when did they die? did he cope well with it? what’s his relationship with their memory like?
these are really really where you gotta start to write mike imo. or any character! i think one thing stephen king is to be admired for is he doesn’t neglect the parent-child relationship as so many people who write youth do. your parents are the most important people in your life for a long time. i don’t think there’s a wrong or ooc way to answer the above questions tbh. canon has really left a wide open field for you to run amuck in.
(example: i’ve mentioned in the past that my & tfat mike being a small adult is no mistake and intentional. it’s a bit of a throwaway scene, but i mention in on pointe that mike’s parents are coming. it’s intentionally done there too. mike is goofier, more outgoing, more immature in general in that fic in the small bits he’s in & that’s all a response to his familial life. )
culture + friendships
after you answer those questions, important follow up questions are:
-are the losers his first set of friends?
-how much social exposure has he had?
-has he dated? who is he attracted to?
-who influences him? (celebrities, family, culturally)
-what are his cultural interests? what does he do in his free time? how would that impact how he interacts with the rest of the world?
again, no wrong way to answer these. i’ve seen a super broad spectrum of indirect answers to these questions. even thinking about where he might pick up patterns of speech can make him feel much more like a realized character. i’ve noticed some people dip fully into aave to an extent that doesn’t even seem logical in their character’s current situation & it can really seem like a caricature, but i think to write mike without any sense of aave at all is a little ?? too. just be cognizant of it is my only real advice here. it doesn’t so much matter as long as you don’t forget who mike is which next point
humor & personality
-what do you think he would find (shows, comedians, youtube videos) really funny?
-does he have something he quotes often? something he started saying ironically but never stopped?
man i know i’m all there’s no wrong way to write mike !! in this post but i will say real quick that i think mike is funny and i don’t really respect depictions of him where he’s not. i think this is where the movies really just fucked up. book mike drops some of the funniest lines of the book. and honest to god tip is to write out a scene as you feel the urge too, look away for five minutes, look back and give half of richie’s lines away. (or... dialogue.) this sounds like a joke but it was what i did when i first started writing & tfat
i’d always be like “n the funny part goes... to richie.” and thats a fandom inclination too. nooooo. avoid this trap. it doesn’t even make sense. have u ever been in a friend group where only one person... makes jokes? that’d be genuinely so weird. especially bc if you give the joke away to someone else, you can also build on it. amazing things start happening when u start thinking of the characters in flexible patterns. like for example, i almost always give absurdist humor to stan now. wholesome to ben.
mike’s humor is largely situational to me. solid comedic timing & he’s an observant person. sometimes i read back my own writing & have to change the pov bc richies making jokes about things he would never ever notice to make fun of. mike would. mike genuinely sees all. i think he’s just got one of the most analytical brain of the losers. & i think intelligence is subjective and people are smart in different ways but i think it’s foolish to write him as anything other than incredibly intelligent both academically and emotionally. he’s just a natural observer and pattern notice-er. which brings me to my next mike thing:
love & selflessness
i think the biggest part of mike being harder to flesh into a fully realized person is the fandom tendency to make him kind and nothing else. here’s mike. he’s nice. next. bc the book kind of points out his selflessness in his decisions and it makes itself one of his strongest character traits.
especially bc nice seems to trump him having any other emotions. ...no?
i believe in general, but ESPECIALLY in the case of mike, that kindness is a choice. it’s one i genuinely believe he’d make, over & over again. but a choice he makes. he gets annoyed with his friends being annoying like anyone else would. he gets hurt when he feels left out. he feels tired & anxious & hungry and all those other human things. sometimes he might not let it show outwardly, but there’s a difference between that and not giving him feelings at all.
people are selfish. it’s a defense mechanism. it’s to protect us. it’s not a bad thing. we think of how the world impacts ourselves first. we don’t always act upon those thoughts or voice them, but don’t forget to let mike have them. he doesn’t need to be happy for his friends all the time, or rooting for them or supportive. he should have his own things going on.
also. mike’s not a doormat. yes, he stays in derry. but those were life-death consequences for generations of children. it’s really not comparable to almost any decision mike would make in a pennywise free universe. yes, he made a sacrifice in the book but i don’t think he’d just lay himself down in any given universe to whatever fate wants to hand him. but this is where i end this topic bc i’m actually only barely beginning to get to this topic in my own fic!
it’s hard writing the losers young sometimes bc i do feel relationships are naturally a little unbalanced based on basic maturity levels as young people. sometimes friendships just are unbalanced bc of who people are at that time. everyone involved can still be good people in these relationships. it’s about growing together and learning how to be good friends to each other.
for example, in &tfat: certain losers are always checking in with others. others are really wrapped up in their own shit and don’t really notice what bothers the others. it would probably take a chart the size of a textbook to explain how i think this dynamic wholly pans out in full. and yeah, i think it grates on mike a little bit that he is always the checker and never the checkee.
but even when mike snaps, even when he gets upset, i always write it coming out of him with a lot of love. i genuinely think mike, regardless of experience in that fic, has the deepest understanding of love as its own concept and an understand of how exactly it rules his life and and his relationships. mike knows to feel strongly about something he has to care about it. there are lots of things he just doesn’t care about. in the book it’s stated he’s difficult to connect with as an adult. he’s distant. he’s focused on what he wants to focus on. i think mike is actually the most interesting when he becomes a little bit of a disaster man with very little time for what doesn’t interest him.
which last thing, dislikes & disinterests
-what annoys him?
-what makes him genuinely angry?
-what bores him to tears?
i always make jokes that i bring up the nastier parts of the losers bc i love nasty boys but thinking of things people don’t like is as much a part of them as the things they do.
for example, in &tfat, i write richie as making fun of “nerdy” things like anything you could find at comic con. i write bev as not giving a fuck about sports. bill doesn’t care about richie’s music tastes. eddie hates getting condescended to.
bc of the ... kind thing, mike’s one of the harder losers to do this with. i genuinely think mike would listen to any of his friends tell him about anything. & he knows, in return, they can’t say shit when he wants to ramble about history. but dislikes can also be super situational.
again, for example in & tfat: mike doesn’t like when his friends talk about college right now. no one is really being sensitive to him at all. he hates getting blamed for stuff that isn’t his fault, mostly bc it keeps happening.
anyway. i based a lot of my mike (mostly sense of humor and personality) off of a mix of real life friends of mine. it’s a luxury. i know. i’ve been blessed to have friends from literally all walks of life & for me borrowing little habits & quirks & sayings & jokes to slip into my fics and characters is my way of writing one massive love letter to those ive known. i hope i’ve helped you in some way anon. n if not.... don’t be sad i’m hardly one to take writing advice from anyway jandjxjx
overall, as i used to do often, i’d genuinely stop myself and say: is this a person, or a convenience for the plot? and if it was the latter, sigh, and get my backspace key ready.

Curious Cat: describing SVT personalities
J: kind and selfless to a fault, willing to sacrifice himself if it means letting the ppl he cares about flourish. he's very shy, yet at the same time, very easily excitable. he's a child at heart, but he'll only open up to ppl he is closed to. he clings to his members, seeking affection, playing pranks on them as a way to show his affection toward them. childish & clingy, but incredibly intelligent and clever. he's faced a lot of hardships, but the fact that he always holds a positive attitude is amazing. he's not greedy nor takes things for granted, he knows how to appreciate what he has, but constantly aims to ameliorate himself. he forces himself to be confident bc it helps him believe in himself in order to keep going. he's very humble about himself, but will throw a parade for his members. non-huihuis often see him as a weirdo, but i see it as him finally being comfortable enough to show us his lovable and eccentric quirks. overall, junnie is an adorable and sweet kid, who loves his members and triggers people's motherly instincts 😆 (god, i love him so much)
HS: spazzy but intense. we all know how he gets when he's excited and having fun lol. he's among the moodmakers, the one always ready to cheer you on and offer to help you. he is very kind and generous, and yes, spazzy lol. on the flip side, when it comes time to work, he is INTENSE. he's hard on himself AND his members. he knows when to stop goofing and get serious. he may be a little clueless when it comes to most things, but he's far from dumb. super passionate and determined.
WW: the hot nerd jk 😂 idk how it's possible for someone to be such a perfect blend of: confidence, intelligence, kindness, and playfulness. (not to say that the others are shallow FAR FROM IT), but wonu is just so deep? in everything he does, he puts in so much thought, carefully choosing his words and actions. he's the cool kid that gets cooler as you spend time with him. he tends to be on the quieter side (when not having fun with the rest of them), but he knows how to take charge and be assertive when he needs to. the way he cares for his members isn't obvious as some others, but it's there, subtle yet significant. something else i really appreciate from him is the amount of thoughtfulness he puts into something he knows is important--not necessarily for himself, but for others. like how he took the time to learn flower language bc fans gave him flowers, or how he continuously wore the bracelet that jun's mom gave 96z. and his determination and sheer willpower. god, that clip from HTR. he was ready to collapse, yet didn't allow himself to. the fact he was able to push forward and finish the show speaks volumes of his sense of responsibility and determination. *sigh* jeon wonu, you are the perfect man
WZ: tough marshmallow lol. bc he's strict, but also super soft and sweet! haha. if WW comes across as closed off at first sight, then WZ is basically a hermit lol. he's very shy, but he's grown to be confident and proud of what he's accomplished. of course there are still fears and worries, but he's by no means hesitant or indecisive when it comes to what he wants from his music. passionate and serious, but still sweet and caring. a man of few words, but many melodies and poems~
T8: very goal-orientated and ambitious. a realistic, but still able to dream and create beautiful art pieces that require imagination. a romantic. kind and sweet, but not overtly emotional. down to earth and practical. (the same can be said for wonhoon too but) not someone to condone BS lol. protective of his members. won't hesitate to snap back if there is injustice or unfairness. despite the serious attitude, a real loving kid.
MG: mr. perfect, with a slice of clumsiness jk 😂 a soft boy. the kind of friend you can count on. reliable and pleasant, friendly, outgoing. can get huffy at times, but it never lasts long. emotional. he just has A LOT of feels all the time about a lot of things. despite being pretty much perfect, he still strives to better himself, never letting his achievements get to his head. his clumsiness isn't limited to breaking/dropping things. some of the things he says sometimes does come across as a little tactless, but it's never with bad intentions. he's an all around GOOD BOY. very soft and gentle.
DK: the kindest soul~ most ppl see him as a little ditzy, and he does tend to be clueless and silly, but he has such a big heart. and a very good moodmaker! it's not for nothing that he's our sunshine! hahah. but he's so hardworking, too. and also super emotional. if MG channels his emotions through speeches and writing, then DK just lets his emotions flow out haha. it's raw and honest. not one to pretend or put on airs. what you see is what you get. an honest and kind boy :D
SK: sassy lol. he is such a delight tbh. one of the brightest spots in the universe. not only is he smart, he quick on his feet and can turn any situation around. sure, he nags and sasses his members, but he loves them so much??? also king at reading the mood in a room. king of entertainment. king of moodmakers. he can be loud and confident and funny and lead an entire show. but on the other hand, he is very sensitive and ALSO emotional. yes, he cries a lot lol, but he's also more likely to lash out when he's mad (which is actually hilarious to see ngl). among svt, he probably takes care of their image as idols the most lol.
VN: (anyone who comes to me with "VN stoner" comments will get smacked). he is a sweet and caring kid, mischievous at times, but doesn't have a bad bone in his entire body. yes, he's spacey, but he is true to himself and what he wants. he doesn't bend for trends or anybody's opinion, and i honestly find that admirable. even more so than josh, he is very mellow. he is much more of the listening type, but afterward, he will talk and give you his honest opinions. he doesn't mince words. very honest and true. also great supporter, even when he doesn't quite understand lol. while he seems pretty mature, the fact that he's still much a baby when it comes to everyday life is really cute.
DN: a very mature and independent young man. in a way, i think he's quite similar to Hao, with how he is very ambitious and strives to do/learn more and more, to hone in his skills. very passionate, too. he is very responsible and capable of taking the lead, which he does when it comes to dancing (only second to HS). he acts like a hyung lol (and you can see it pretty clearly in the way he and jun interact). i think he has an easier time being the maknae nowadays lol. a reliable young man full of passion!
oh, man. this is a huge essay 😅 i'm sorry it's so long! and i'm probably forgetting a bunch of details for each member, so pls don't get mad at me 🙏😭 these are just my own personal thoughts about each of them, even if they're lacking. all in all, we are very lucky to have 13 wonderful, kind, and talented young men.
ahhh thank you, my dear! please take care and stay safe, too! hopefully this is satisfactory 😅
(i should have ch. 17 out in a few days. thank you for the wait!) xoxoxo

🎐1/2 Hi! Can I ask for a male matchup please for Karneval, Naruto, Durarara, Bungo stray dogs, and Psycho Pass? I’m stoic, can come across as abrasive because of my honesty, I’m a realist, determined, intelligent and an introvert. I’m understanding, patient, incredibly insecure but comes across as confident. Gentle and kind to the people I love. Can be terrifying if pissed off. I adore cats, reading, sketching, and tending to my garden. I play the piano, and sing.

☰ Matched with Yogi
Yogi will show an interest in getting to know you immediately though it’s really not in a romantic way at first, because he is generally just very social and friendly especially when it comes to meeting new people. So, he will not hesitate to talk with you and try to learn a lot about you and includes you in everything and tries to spend a lot of time around you.
Slowly over time he’ll begin to realize that he’s developing romantic feelings for you and he can become a bit shy and flustered around you, not knowing exactly how to handle it because he won’t want to risk ruining the friendship between the two of you if you do not return his feelings.
Because of this he can even distance himself from you for a bit because it will get to the point that it’s hard for him to maintain eye contact with you and hold conversations. This will also lead up to him confessing his feelings for you in a very expressive and bold manner, which can also be at a random time and place and could be in front or others or when the two of you are alone.
Which can simply make it an outburst for whenever he can’t hold back his feelings anymore and can’t stand the awkwardness of the situation. Which the time between his realization that he loves you and when he confesses his feelings to you is a relatively short amount of time, and at most will be over the course of a couple days.
Once the two of you begin dating he is very affectionate and expressive about how he feels about you and he will have no problems with PDA or telling you how he feels, though he doesn’t need you to match his expressions because he can be a bit over the top at times.
However, he can seem a bit hurt if you refuse to return or respond to an affectionate act, like if you refuse to hold hands with him or turn away from him if he gestures for a hug. But while he can seem hurt pretty easily, he also bounces back very quickly and is also understanding of what you are comfortable with and what you aren’t comfortable with. So, if he notices that you dislike PDA he won’t instigate PDA as often, he will be very understanding and patient and the last thing he’ll want to do in pressure or push you into something that you are not comfortable with.
He pays very close attention to you and encourages you to talk to him when something’s on your mind or any time you are sad or upset, and if he can tell that you are upset he can slightly nudge or poke you to open up but if you show even the slightest bit of hesitance he can back off pretty quickly. You can be very terrifying when you are angry and he can be rather sensitive to anger, he can back off and apologize quickly and profusely if you’re angry with him, and if you’re angry at someone else he won’t get in your way.
He will be willing to listen to you, talk things out or comfort you after you’ve calmed down from your rage, if you need to vent your frustrations or just complain about something he’ll happily and quietly listen to you. In general, though you are very gentle and kind to the people you love and he is nothing but kind, considerate and loving with you.
Yogi is also very sympathetic to the fact that you suffer from insomnia and will want to do anything he can to help you or comfort you if he can, even though he may not know exactly what he can do to help you. He is affectionate towards you quite often when the two of you are alone and he has a habit of hugging or cuddling you when he’s trying to comfort you or sympathizes with you.
This can make him a little clingy at times especially when he knows you are sad, upset or having a tough time, because he will not want to leave your side and can become very upset and distraught if kept away from you. Yogi is extremely interested in all of your hobbies and interests and will compliment you for your talents frequently, like the fact that you can play the piano and sing he adore this, and compliment you for your ability to garden and sketch things.
He’s doesn’t just compliment you for your hobbies and talents either he frequently praises you for being smart, cute, funny, sweet, kind anything. When he falls in love with you be will be with you for the long run and won’t see a future without you, which makes him trust you completely and he is very honest and loyal to you. He can be motherly with you yet childish at times too, he is very concerned about your safety and can worry about you when he’s not with you.
Though he can also make a bigger deal of things then they really are, if you accidentally cut yourself or skin your knee, he can act like it’s much worse than it really is but that’s only because he cares about you so much. He likes spending time with you doing absolutely anything and will do whatever makes you happy, if you want to go out for a date or stay in and watch movies, he’s content doing anything with you.
However, he can get bored rather quickly if the two of you aren’t doing something together, for instance if you are studying or writing a paper or something you have to get done, he can be rather restless waiting for you to finish but he will try very hard not to bother you. Yogi is very supportive, caring and encouraging, he’ll want the absolute best for you so he will cheer you on with anything you put your mind to.
He will love the fact that you want to become a doctor not only because you’ll be helping people, but also because he will like the idea of being able to see you as a doctor instead of Akari. (Though this can also backfire on him if you were to do something like study under Akari.) He will protect you and keep you safe at all costs and tries his best to make you smile and be happy every day with him, he is happy being with you and will do whatever it takes to keep you at his side.
Tumblr media
☰ Headcanons between the two of you
■ Loves the fact that you like cats which can lead him to get you a lot of cat related items and even really wanting to get a kitten. He can also spoil you with gifts quite often but doesn’t really expect anything from you in return, but he will be extremely touched by anything you give him even if it’s something simple or small.
■ Will be very touchy and affectionate with you and really enjoys holding hands with you whether in public or when the two of you are alone, he also touches your arm or thigh when sitting next to you, playing with your hair and hugs you often especially from behind if you’re in the middle of something.
■ Does tend to be quite emotional and can cry pretty easily and get his feelings hurt easily too, but can also cheer up quickly especially with praise, attention or affection. He can show more concern towards you even over simple things like if you have a doctor’s appointment, or even you cracking your joints can make him give you a concerned look.
■ Will go very over board when it comes to your birthday, anniversary or holidays and making any special events a really big deal, he can also be rather unpredictable when it comes to getting you presents. Getting you anything from something very meaningful and special, to something you said you wanted or something completely random. You can also expect a lot of Nyanperowna things but not just for special occasions but randomly.
☰ Other Possible Matches
Tumblr media
◐ Kagari
Is very expressive, attentive and affectionate though he can occasionally come across as clingy because he does really enjoy it when you show him attention, and can even be a bit childish or pouty when you are busy or need your space. However, he can be serious and is even quite intelligent when he wants to be and will like having conversations with you about anything. He is very curious about you and the things you like which makes him ask a lot of questions about you and your hobbies. He likes to cuddle and will really be impressed by the fact that you can play the piano and will love listening to you sing if you’re willing to sing in front of him. He is also very understanding with you and won’t pressure you to open up or to do things, because he’ll be happier with you opening up to him when you’re ready and unprovoked.
Tumblr media
◐ Ranpo
Tends to be very laid back, attentive though can also be a bit over confident or cocky on occasion, though in general he can seem lazy and likes spending time with you alone and at home. In fact, he’s not very comfortable in social situations and can lack some common sense when it comes to how to do basic things out in the world. He can be surprisingly comforting and understanding with the fact that you suffer from insomnia and will even try to help you any way he can, even staying up with you and keeping you company. He can seem kind of neutral when it comes to PDA but will enjoy cuddling with you while watching movies, he also tends to have a real sweet tooth and can eat a lot of junk food. He is very intelligent though and very proud of this fact but he is also very caring and considerate towards you.

'Looking' Made Raúl Castillo A Sex Symbol. Sheer Force Made Him A Star.
In New York, in the middle of July, if the fickle subway system allows it, you’d be wise to arrive at a destination 10 minutes early. You’ll need that time to let the sweat evaporate, to stamp out the damp spots that have betrayed your outfit.
Raúl Castillo forfeited his chance to cool down before shaking my hand at a Manhattan hotel restaurant on a sweltering Thursday morning. I didn’t mind. It was an honest mistake.
The “Looking” star was running slightly late and looking slightly frazzled when he bounded toward our table. He’d confused this hotel for another within walking distance where, the previous night, Castillo had attended a screening of the new Alexander McQueen documentary with his girlfriend, the costume designer Alexis Forte, who has the late fashion maverick’s biography at their Brooklyn apartment.
It’s cute to see celebrities frayed, even ones who are still building their marquee value. Castillo is the type who hasn’t yet abandoned public transportation when navigating the city, even though it’s becoming harder to do so without attracting strangers’ gazes. While trekking home from the “McQueen” event, a Latina teenager tapped him to say she loved “Atypical,” the Netflix series in which Castillo played a charismatic bartender sleeping with Jennifer Jason Leigh’s married character. The teenager’s mother loved “Seven Seconds,” the Netflix series in which Castillo played a narcotics detective tending to a racially charged investigation.
Raúl Castillo: a guy you can bring home to Mom, punctual or otherwise.
It’s his voice that people recognize, the 40-year-old actor said, a modest notion considering his breakthrough role as the sensitive barber Richie on “Looking” made Castillo a veritable heartthrob, despite the HBO show’s modest ratings. But it’s true that his warm baritone gravel is a distinguishing trait. Earlier this year, when I saw “Unsane,” Steven Soderbergh’s scrappy iPhone thriller set inside a mental institution, I recognized Castillo’s intonation before his face appeared onscreen.
That’s a significant feat. Castillo mumbled so much as an adolescent that a teacher recommended he see a speech therapist. He refused, instead reminding himself to enunciate or else using the impediment as a defense mechanism. “I have all these things wrong with my voice,” Castillo said, though few today would agree.
Castillo’s cadence may be growing familiar, but fame hardly seems like his long game. This is, after all, a guy who studied playwriting ― hardly the creative pursuit that commands the brightest spotlight ― at Boston University, after which he paid about $300 a month to live in a garage in Austin and perform local Chicano theater. “We the Animals,” a Sundance indie opening this weekend, marks the first time Castillo is the one generating a project’s star power. He portrays the father of three tight-knit boys storming through a wooded town in upstate New York. The movie, adapted from Justin Torres’ autobiographical novel of the same name, combines elements of “Beasts of the Southern Wild” and “Moonlight” to capture a domestic home life that’s equal parts tender and volatile, where abuse and affection are equally common.
Castillo’s enthusiasm about “We the Animals,” and about the possibly of again working with its director, Jeremiah Zagar (“Captivated: The Trials of Pamela Smart”), speaks to his ambivalence toward the celebrity ecosystem.
“He could be like Tom Cruise without the child slavery,” Zagar said, roasting the “Mission: Impossible” moneymaker’s Scientology association (and its alleged history of forced manual labor). “Raúl’s that kind of a dude. He’s a perfect-looking dude, and yet he’s incredibly real and honest and true. There’s never a false note. He’s also incredibly collaborative. As a director, that’s a wonderful thing. I didn’t know what I was doing, really, because I had never directed a narrative before, and Raúl had a way of making me feel comfortable and confident in my own beliefs and my own material. He’s so seasoned and so clear about what he needs to do to make a scene work and a character work and to elevate other people around him.”
It’s a small movie with grainy aesthetics and an impressionistic lyricism ― in no way the kind of thing that will make a killing at the box office. For someone who first fell in love with theater by discovering the plays of Puerto Rican and Mexican writers like Miguel Piñero and Luis Valdez in his high school library, playing the complicated patriarch of a mixed-race family feels like a destiny fulfilled. (Sheila Vand, star of the Iranian horror gem “A Girl Walks Home Alone at Night,” plays Castillo’s wife.) At this point, opportunities to extend his commercial footprint ― guest spots as a cannibal on “Gotham” and a music teacher on “Riverdale,” for example ― will find Castillo one way or another.
“I’ve always felt that I was never cookie-cutter,” he said. “For as much as I tried to fit my square peg into round holes, constantly, my whole career, I could never do it. Whenever I read ‘We the Animals,’ I didn’t think I would be cast in that film. [...] I felt viewed more as a Richie. People think I tend to find those roles easier than I do a role like this, ’cause it’s harsh. I knew that I could do it. I’m so grateful for both Jeremiah and Justin, who did see that in me.”
Born in McAllen, Texas, a midsize agricultural town that sits on the Mexican border, Castillo’s triumphs were born out of people believing in him at the exact right moments. He belongs to a first-generation immigrant family, even if home was a mere 10 miles down the road. Castillo didn’t feel othered, but his dual identity instilled a sort of anti-establishment fluster.
“I just saw a lot of bullshit in the structures that were established for me,” he said. “I found a lot of hypocrisies. People valued money, and I think when I was very young, I valued money and I didn’t have it. I think I hated myself for it.”
Slowly shedding the Catholic mysticism that once awed him, he took up bass and played in punk bands. When his friend Tanya Saracho, who would go on to write for “Looking” and “How to Get Away with Murder,” likened his GPA to a lifeline out of McAllen, Castillo decided to care about school. But in Boston, he was suddenly the minority. His “bad attitude” kept him out of second-year acting courses, until mentorship from a professor of color let Castillo understand that he shouldn’t punish himself for being subjected to an overwhelmingly white institution. And when he moved to New York in 2002, his pal Mando Alvarado, now a writer for “Greenleaf” and “Vida” (on which Castillo will soon appear), posited presentation as a mark of self-worth; if he didn’t put care into his résumé and headshot, why should anyone put care into hiring him?
Of course, when success takes years to manifest, it’s easy to forget the lessons you’ve learned. Living with four or five roommates at once, Castillo worked his way into the Labyrinth Theater Company, an experimental off-Broadway troupe founded by Philip Seymour Hoffman and John Ortiz. He still wanted to be a writer ― in high school, Castillo only ever acted to impress girls anyway ― but in 2006 he found himself starring in a Labyrinth production of “School of the Americas,” a play by “Motorcycle Diaries” scribe José Rivera. The acting bug stuck. In 2009, his play “Knives and Other Sharp Objects,” a multigenerational drama about class in Texas, opened off-Broadway, earning a mixed review from The New York Times.
Still, nothing quite lasted. The business side of things was grueling, and his coffee-shop gigs were getting old, even if he did count Lili Taylor and RuPaul as customers. An agent sent him on auditions for “huge” Hollywood movies ― which ones, Castillo wouldn’t say ― but dropped him after none proved fruitful. He was ready to give up altogether when “Looking” came around. Castillo had starred in the short film that became a prototype for the series. Its director, Michael Lannan, called him to audition for Richie (the character he’d initially played) and Augustin (a more prominent Latino character who worked as an artist’s assistant). He didn’t land either role, even though he’d originated one of them.
But by the time “Looking” was a week away from shooting, a Richie still hadn’t been cast. The producers called Castillo to read for Andrew Haigh, the gifted English director who shepherded the half-hour dramedy. Haigh had seen Castillo in an indie mystery called “Cold Weather” that gave him “street cred.” Crashing on John Ortiz’s couch in Hell’s Kitchen, wondering what else he could do with his life, Castillo was at a bar one night when he received an email with a contract attached. He had no representation to negotiate his salary, but it didn’t matter: After living check to check, he was on HBO.
“I was like, ‘Yes. Take my soul. I don’t care. Pay me. I need money,’” Castillo recalled. “I needed not just a paycheck but the affirmation. I needed something artistically that I could sink my teeth into that had value to it. Something that was substantial. Something that had a real point of view. I needed a character that gave me a platform to do what I do in a really great scale in the best way possible. And it ended up being that. That show was such a great gift to me.”
All of Castillo’s ensuing fortune can be linked to “Looking.” It made him a sex symbol, a love interest, a fan favorite, a rising star whose claim to fame meant a great deal to anyone hungry for frank depictions of queer intimacy. Richie was the good-natured, self-righteous ideal ― a perfect counterpoint for Patrick (Jonathan Groff), the series’ unsettled protagonist. It became gay viewers’ great disappointment when they learned that Castillo, their anointed hunk, was in fact straight.
“His inability to be fake as a person translates directly into his acting,” Groff said. “There is nothing extraneous or false about Raúl, and he brought a grounded, honest integrity to the character that absolutely no one else could have. He’s also just innately magic on screen and has that ‘it’ factor.”
Perhaps it was Castillo’s dual identity as a Mexican-American that helped him shine as a gay, blue-collar Californian who was sure of himself despite being rejected by his family. It’s certainly what lets him shine as the cash-strapped paterfamilias, caught between unremitting love for his kin and an inescapable pattern of violence, in “We the Animals.” This dyad comes at time when Castillo sees his identity splashed across the evening news.
McAllen houses the U.S. Border Patrol’s busiest hub for detaining immigrants suspected of entering the country illegally. While Castillo was vacationing in Europe and playing make-believe on sets, children were being ripped from their parents’ arms in his hometown.
“I would always have to explain where McAllen was, and now it’s this name you’re seeing constantly in the news for all these reasons that represent, for me, everything that’s wrong with this country,” Castillo said. “It was paralyzing. I was sitting in a beach in Europe, wondering why I deserved to be there. My parents had access to this country in ways that people who are coming from longer distances don’t. We had the great gift of citizenship, which is an incredible privilege. But my parents were immigrants, and they navigated that dynamic our entire lives. I saw my mom and my dad deal with all the insecurities and all the precarious nature of what being an immigrant in this country is. [...] Having grown up going back and forth across the border throughout my whole life, it’s disheartening and upsetting to see what’s happening. And then to think about this particular movie that deals with children, who are especially in that age when their minds are being formed and their view of the world is taking shape, to think about [the ones] locked in cages is enraging.”
Castillo may be miles from that crisis now, but he’s done more to better the world for brown people than he can know. His goal hasn’t been to diversity Hollywood roles written for white ensembles; it’s been to find work that naturally accentuates the grooves of his Latino heritage. He saw almost no Chicano role models in popular culture growing up, and now he is writing and starring in artistic endeavors that paint all shades of the human experience ― gay, poor, brown, cannibalistic, whatever ― with a dynamic brush.
Which isn’t to say everything’s gotten easy. He was slated to play the lead in “Mix Tape” (a musical drama set in Los Angeles) and appear on “One Day at a Time” (the Norman Lear reboot), but has since exited both series and would rather not disclose why. I got the sense, during our two-hour breakfast, that Castillo is still protective of how he is perceived. Maybe he always will be. He’s comfortable reflecting on his upbringing and his relationship with race ― concepts he’s spent his whole life processing ― but being candid about recent setbacks, as routinely asked of celebrities in interviews, does not yet come easy.
It’s the “ego business bullshit” that still eats at him. It’s what eats at most of us. But when someone makes a name for himself, that burden slowly fades to the periphery, replaced by a newfound comfort, even power. The man who once served RuPaul coffee now shares an agent with the drag dignitary.
“For so long, it was all feast or famine,” Castillo said. “I just took work when I could take it. And at this point, I’m in a new place where I want to be more thoughtful about the roles that I take on from here on out. The projects, the roles, the people. I’ve learned so much in the journey that now I want to apply all that and also honor my experience, because at this point I want to work with people who challenge me in all the right ways and push me to become a better actor and a better artist.”

an honest review of voltron (edited)
I know no one asked for it. I know I don’t have to write this. But I want to and I think I need to let out a lot of my feelings in order to feel some closure after the ending to a show that has had such an impact on my life. Prepare for a long post. These are my feelings and I’m open to conversation about this amazing show.
A Summary (in case you don’t wanna read the whole thing) This show has meant a lot to me. I’ve met friends through the fandom, been inspired by the characters and the story and found happiness in times when it felt hard to go on. I’ve never been so invested in a show the way I have with voltron, and even if the ending was a massive disappointment and there were many flaws, it will always have a place in my heart.
I’m gonna miss it
To start off, I’ll just say this review will have nothing to do with shipping or the fandom, because that’s a different rant that I think we’re all sick of hearing. The fandom had both a positive and negative impact on me, but I wanna focus on the show itself and not my opinions on ships or any of that. I will touch on ad@shi and a!lurance but in relation to the fact that both these ships were canon and in the show. This rant is mostly just me letting feelings out, but there will be criticism.
The Characters
Pidge Pidge was one of my favorite characters right from the beginning. I heard her voice for the first time and felt such a strange joy in my heart that I still can’t explain to this day. She was a character that I could relate to, even if I’m not nearly as smart as her. She’s tough and not traditionally feminine, which is so important to represent in a character. I will admit, her search for her family had me in tears, but I do think she deserved to be treated more like an adult who had gone through a traumatic experience of war. By the end of the show, she was around 17 or 18 (correct me if I’m wrong) after all the time skips, and had definitely matured greatly. The scenes where she gives up her video game for Allura and where she is able to see the history of the planet (I’m blanking on the name) were so amazing and made me so happy to see. Not to mention I have a bit of bias towards Bex, because I too am nonbinary as hell. Pidge has meant a lot to me as a character and I’m going to miss her after all this time.
Hunk Oh Hunkie how I adore you. Hunk has always been such an underappreciated character. He’s an engineer and a chef and a goofy scardey cat defying stereotypes of what it means to be “manly.” He’s also strong and tough, aside from all his fear. I wish we could’ve seen more of him, seen more growth, seen him rise and mature the same way the others did. Unfortunately, he was reduced to a bit of a comic-relief character, especially towards the end of the show. I love him all the same, he’s more like me than I care to admit, both of us being chubby and loving food and being scared easily. No one could ask for a better friend than Hunk
Keith It took me a while to warm up to Keith. He’s not the kind of character I usually fall in love with easily, but now he has my heart. Although he stole the spotlight of the show for a bit, his arc really was impactful. Keith went through a lot, finding his family and his self-worth. It was clear that it took a toll on him, but he was still able to be a leader and find compassion for his teammates. He’s shown the most growth throughout the series and it shows. Keith is a well-written character who deserved more love from everyone. Seeing him turn down being the leader of the galra in favor of forming a relief team from the blad was so incredible. Especially considering the fact that he let Lotor’s former generals join him. I wish the show had done more with a sort of “galra-form” Keith and delved more into the whole “not all galra are bad” trope. But overall, Keith has won me over Shiro Honestly, the show did not do great things for Takashi Shirogane. He’s amazing representation, being disabled, gay, and asian. He’s tough and strong and everyone fell in love with “space dad.” Though the show was going to kill him off and decided against it, probably because of his popularity in the fandom. Despite this, I wonder if there was more to him that wasn’t quite established because of this change in decision. I’ve always felt like there was something missing from Shiro (aside from his arm and mental stability), but I can never quite put a finger on it. I’ve always felt so attached to him, and seeing him rise up and survive through all the trauma to become captain of the atlas was so powerful. Especially with the implications of a name like atlas. His portrayal in terms of being a gay man was lackluster, especially in the last season where he barely had any lines that weren’t shouting orders (aside from the filler episodes). Shiro deserved better, he deserved to be a paladin for a lot longer, he deserved some closure, something more to show us all that our struggles and oppression do not define us. I’ll always love Shiro, no matter what his hair or his arm looks like, he means a lot to me.
Lance Lance, my sweet baby boy, my angel. I’m gonna admit I’m a bit biased, but Lance was also mistreated in the show. I’m not talking about being comic relief or getting “bullied” by the other characters. I’m talking about his ending. Lance started off as a cocky fighter pilot just wanting to rise to the top. His insecurities and sensitivity showed early, but he matured as time went on. He saved the lives of the other paladins numerous times, he served as moral support when Shiro went missing, he even learned to admit that he wasn’t quite as smart as Hunk or Pidge, and was not a prodigy like Keith. He had some great development. By the end of season 7, I was ready for him to get some well-needed love and support for all that he’s been through. I didn’t get that. I got a weird, stagnant version of Lance, serving mostly as support for Allura, who didn’t seem nearly as devoted to him as he was to her (but that rant will be later, stay tuned). I was especially with the scene when he was talking to Alfor. All the other og paladins had something nice to say, but Alfor only talking about Lance’s relationship with his daughter. His ending was frustrating, not seeing him flying with the MFE pilots or training a new generation of paladins. It was even a weird tease to see him holding the “LGBT” sign with Shiro and not have any interactions with them about that, while the other pairs all got some sort of plot around their signs. He was destined for greater things and I hope he gets them one day.
Lotor This poor man deserved so much better. I think we all agree that in the end, Lotor was portrayed as an abuse victim who lost to abuse and was considered evil for doing all he knew to do to survive. He was an amazing villain and a lovable character who even tricked the audience into seeing things in a certain light. His generals had amazing designs and they all had so much potential for so many different plotlines. But it didn’t end that way. Lotor succumbed to abuse and was always painted as evil and manipulative, even as a projection to trick Allura. The audience were the only ones who understood what he went through and although that had the potential for some good angst, it turned out to be glazed over in favor of many different angles. Lotor meant a lot to a lot of people, especially abuse victims who saw themselves in him. But it turns out that overcoming a situation like that isn’t possible even for someone as strong and determined and compassionate as Lotor. It was a shitty message to send to what is supposed to be a young audience.
Coran Now there’s not a lot I wanna say about Coran, mostly because I never felt attached to him. But through a conversation with a friend, I realized he should’ve been space dad from the beginning. He could’ve been the father character to all the paladins, could’ve been more that comic-relief, should’ve been given humanizing moments to grieve over his planet and even Allura. This man is so resilient and like a lot of these characters, shows that being a “man” is more than just being tough and strong and bruting, it’s about feeling love and being happy and spreading that love and happiness as much as possible
Allura Last but not least is Allura. Her death was devastating. Unfortunately I never really felt attached to her. Her character didn’t feel very developed. She learned to accept Keith and pilot blue, but the sacrifice she made, in the end, is one she would’ve made from episode 1. She’s always been tough and determined and passionate about her home and its history. I wanted to see her humanized more, just like Coran. I wanted to know more about her loving sparkly things and not understanding human things like cows and milkshakes. She had so much potential and it all felt wasted on a weird plot for revenge and anger and bitterness that was never really dissolved. She’s an amazingly designed character and a lot of people love her, I hate knowing that she was given the ending she was given.
Overall Negatives
Character Development The show was going so strong for a while. Every character was aging and growing and making progress. Then the last few seasons happened and suddenly the focus was on the war and action sequences and getting the plot over with. Many characters started to feel stale, their development stopping or becoming stagnant. Especially in the last season, it felt like a lot was not resolved in terms of how characters grew over the course of the show.
Character Interactions (This is not about ships or the fandom, it’s about canon interactions in the show. None of this is implying I wanted it to be endgame, that’s not what this is about)
Shiro/Keith Man, these two had so much potential. Keith loves Shiro in canon. He said so. Even if it’s a brotherly love, it was real and there and so powerful it brought Shiro back to life. Their bond was powerful and strong and inspired so many people watching, including me. All relationships are important, and seeing Keith mature and have someone believe in him was so meaningful to those who see themselves in him. Not only that, but Shiro had someone who believes in him too. After being left by his boyfriend and told his disease would kill him, Keith was still there, supporting him and ultimately keeping him alive. They’re such a good example of a healthy relationship, platonic or not. So what happened in season 8? I don’t have an answer. They barely interacted. When Keith was close to death Shiro acted like a soldier, not a friend. There was no closure with them, no expressions of how proud of each other they were, barely even a genuine interaction. It was very disappointing. I could go on about how angry this makes me but I still gotta lot to write about Lance/Allura Once again, so much good potential. These two could’ve developed so much more in their relationship. They had the potential to be cute and loving and strong leaders together. Not only was Allura killed off, but she was also written into Lance’s relationship with a strange lack of love for Lance. It felt one-sided and rushed. Lance’s maturity with handling the whole thing came out of nowhere and felt weird and forced. He wasn’t acting like his goofy self, which in turn can give off a message that he had to change and become more serious in order to gain her affections. Yet another bad message to send to a supposed young audience
Keith/Lance There was a lot going on between these two and a lot of good development. I loved their quiet personal moments in the last season, they were tender and personal and demonstrated the growth of both characters. But just like Keith and Shiro, there was something missing in their ending. No closure. They never seemed to interact aside from these more intimate moments in this season, with Lance’s focus being on Allura and Keith being mainly a leader of voltron. All The Paladins One of this show’s strong suits was the interaction between a found family. Especially this season, it felt lackluster. It felt like characters were being shoved aside for the sake of more plot and story and Allura’s whole arc. Not only that but in the end, they weren’t a family anymore. They went separate ways, Lance mourning Allura’s death, Keith going off to be a lone wolf in the blade, etc. It was all a bit disappointing, especially for someone like me who knows what it’s like to find a family outside of blood. It’s not easy to separate like that.  The Portrayal of the Effects of War A lot of my frustration with characters and interaction and the ending of the show was how it lacked a reflection of how war affects people. The paladins were an obvious example of young people being forced into a place where war is rampant and their trauma should have been made more clear! Lance’s ending would’ve made more sense if they talked about the war affecting him and needing to just be with his family and away from the fight. The weird character development could’ve included that they all have some bits of PTSD and permanent damage due to all they’ve been through, especially considering how young they are. Nothing felt resolved or had an impact in the ways it could have. The show was doing so well with portraying Shiro’s PTSD and pain and then flushed it all away, once again to hurry along a rushed plot. It makes me so upset as a writer and a lover of the show to see such potential themes done away with.
Honerva and The Finale This show has some amazing villains. People love the galra and Lotor and his generals and Honerva and even Zarkon. They had such good potential and learning about their past was emotional and impactful. But there was no resolution. Exploring Honerva’s mind and the other dimensions/realms of the universe were overwhelming and confusing and didn’t leave much room for development. There was potential in having Lotor be resurrected. He could’ve shown Honerva that you can’t bring back the dead and that abusers don’t get to have their victims given back to them. He could’ve proven to the paladins that being a victim doesn’t mean you will lose to your abuser. He could’ve provided a catalyst for Allura to learn to forgive and understand instead of acting out of anger and bitterness without listening to the full story. He could’ve provided room for Lance to find some self-love and even a chance for Shiro to overcome his own demons. There was so much potential in having him return and still have Honerva be a redeemable character who found family the same way the paladins did. The finale could’ve been so much more. Lotor could’ve been so much more. But he was reduced to a corpse and Honerva lost the potential of being the best villain in the show.
Overall Positives
The Characters I already went in depth on a few characters specifically, but their designs both visually and personality-wise were amazing. Many people connected to each paladin, even more than one. We loved watching them grow, we love their voice actors, we love our own found family within such an amazing story.
The Staff Through thick and thin the cast and team of Voltron have been amazing. There will always be slip-ups and hard patches but they have done such an amazing job supporting the fans and fighting through the drama. All these people are so amazing and kind and I hope to see more of their work in the future.
The Galra and Other Aliens Like I said before, people love the galra. They love their designs, their story, their potential. The galra are cool villains that provide a lot of fun to the story and the fan content that comes out of it. All the alien designs were fun to play with, even Slav and bi boh bee. These side characters are creative and made the world feel even bigger.
The Animation Not only were the character designs visually appealing, but the animation itself improved so much over the course of the show. Characters visually aged, the shots of space became more detailed and beautiful, it was all so impressive. Voltron has one of my favorite animation styles I’ve ever seen.
The Filler Episodes Many people hate these episodes but darn it I love them. They were fun and light-hearted and dove into fun situations we all love to see our characters in. The fair, Kinkade’s camera, the D&D episode, the game show episode. They all made us laugh and remember why we love these characters and why we want them to succeed, while also making them more real and tangible.
The Representation This may be a controversial opinion, but the representation in this show is fantastic. 4 out of 5 paladins are people of color. Allura is a poc. Many side characters are of varying races. Even if we didn’t get perfect LGBT rep, we got some well-needed diversity in cartoons. Although I cannot speak to any inaccuracies or stereotypes people of color feel might’ve played a part, I can speak to the importance of having many different races on screen for all to see.
Show-Stopping Moments While the fandom was good at predicting a lot of plot points, the show was still able to leave us all stunned and speechless. We all have certain moments that made us sob, broke our hearts, gave us chills. From Keith’s blade trials, Zarkon’s death, Shiro’s disappearance and journey home, Keith’s fight with Shiro’s clone, Narti’s death, the reveal of the og paladin’s backstories, Lotor’s betrayal, Shiro transforming the atlas, and so many more, there are so many scenes that shook us to the core.

Please just go off and rant about your OCs! I just love them all so much (even the ones that haven’t been introduced yet) and want to hear more about them!
I hope you’re prepared for what you’ve just unleashed~!!
JOCELYN was the start of this avalanche. When I first conjured her up, I had just a few points in mind: I wanted her to be colored (though I hadn’t decided yet what her ethnicity would actually be), I wanted her to be a ballerina, and I wanted her to not be drop-dead fucking gorgeous.
One of these things did not hold up. X’D
My original intent was to just make a short story -- 10 chapters or so -- in which she gets with Raphael and they bang. That was the literal long and short of it, which you can kind of see considering how rushed the first few chapters were.
I didn’t mean for them to get so into each other and fall in love. They did that entirely on their own. And, to be honest, it’s been an amazing experience; I’ve learned a great deal and feel like my creativity has gone through the roof.
Considering I’ve always been crazily creative anyway, that’s saying something.
Initially I picked Raph for this story because I thought (in my ignorance) that he would have the least amount of love and sex-related stories. Oh, how foolish I was, lol. But I was also thinking he would be the easiest to write just falling into bed with someone, and while that is something I commonly see, in my story he very much did not do that.
It was really weird. X’D
While I was writing The Dancer, I was also writing a then-untitled sister fic/epilogue (which I later titled The Dragon). It was quite a few years down the line, so I went ahead and conjured up some future scenes and events. Among them: Lisa.
This fic started in Mikey’s POV for a few reasons, one of them being that I really wanted to write something from his perspective. Lisa was introduced to my story this way, and I quickly took a liking to her and started development on her character. One of the things I did first was write pieces of the first chapter of The DJ, just to get the start’s setting down.
Then all I had to do was get The Dancer to a point where I could connect the two. At the time I was only around chapter 20, so...yeah, it took a while. XD
With Jocelyn, one of the key decisions I made was to make her very unlike Raphael -- she’s flirty, often relaxed, has an incredible love for ballet, has almost no family (just a mother; no dad, no siblings), and has such a crazy obsession over shoes that she literally picks out what shoes she wants to wear before picking her clothing for the day.
With Lisa, I went in the opposite direction: be just like Mikey. She has low intelligence and knows it, yet is brilliant in an unconventional way; her sense of humor is one of her biggest traits and she laughs to defuse situations and deal with problems; her genre is 100% hip hop in nearly all ways; and I made her athletic pretty much entirely so she’d be able to keep up with the master of movement, Mikey. (Say that five times, fast.)
It wasn’t until after I really got into writing Lisa that I noticed something interesting about my two fics: the couples both view each other in the same light.
Jocelyn and Raphael think one another is sexy and bad-ass.
Lisa and Mikey think one another is cool and cute.
This is, of course, not the rule -- Raph has thought Jo is super cute before, and Mikey finds Lisa sexy as hell, too -- but it is their primary mindsets. And it makes me wonder if my remaining two couples will have the same kind of viewpoints. I can’t say for sure yet because I haven’t gotten to the part in either story where they’re actually dating, but it’s fun to consider.
Then again, maybe for Leo and Donnie’s relationships they’ll have opposite viewpoints as their lovers do. It would definitely be an interesting twist.
Progress with The Dragon is going very slowly, which is understandable given I still have a lot of world-building in The DJ to do first, but I do very much love the story. In fact, so far if I were to rank my fics based on my own favorites, it would go Dancer > Dragon > DJ (I have literally nothing written on the final fic yet cause I still haven’t even finished designing the final girl, lol).
As much as I love Lisa (and I freaking do holy shit), I just don’t quite love her the best. This is actually kind of weird considering just how close to being a self-insert she is -- an unintentional self-insert, yes, but the parallels are definitely there.
For example, Lisa is a white girl of mixed white heritage (like me) with a particular pair of beauty marks on her face (same as me, just in different places), she has brunette hair (like me) and blue eyes (mine are actually green, but my parents’ and brother’s eyes are blue and I’ve always been jealous of that), she’s a huge gamer (just like me; she’s just better at competitive games), she dislikes swearing (I swear a lot now, but at her age I was much more sensitive about it), she has an older brother (I technically have two, but one’s very distant and the other was always close), she has a distaste for meat (I’m not vegetarian but as a whole I dislike meat) and some serious compassion for life (same), she loves piercings (I’d have more but I’m seriously forgetful), and she has incredible ears for music (can name almost any song within seconds -- just like me).
Oh yeah, and she’s a Mikey girl. ♥
And more pointedly, I named her mother after my sister (deceased) and her grandparents after my paternal grandfather and maternal grandmother.
I named Jocelyn based on the character of the same name from A Knight’s Tale (it just occurred to me that they have the same tits lmfao); after seeing the movie I kind of became enraptured with this character and her smart tongue and haughty attitude and incredible elegance -- not to mention I freaking loved her name.
Lisa, by comparison, I named based on one thing: the Mona Lisa. Yeah, that’s right, y’all -- I named her after a famous painting by an Italian Renaissance painter. Hurr hurr. XP But though I never mentioned this, Lisa’s mother, Brandy, cites that she named her ‘Lisa’ based on The Simpsons, as Lisa was Brandy’s favorite character.
This cute, incredibly good-hearted and brilliant young girl? Yeah, Brandy loves that character and was hoping Lisa would take after her.
Hmmm, what else...
Well, I had a completely different story set up for Cecilia at first. I’m honestly really glad things didn’t go the way I’d planned, and here’s why: Cecilia was supposed to catch a glimpse of Jo and Raph having sex one day (before meeting him) and go kind of nutso.
You see, at first she claimed diabetes but was not diabetic -- she was doing cocaine, and saying she had diabetes was her explanation for when Jo would catch her shooting up. And with the cocaine in her system, Cecilia’s mind went right to demons and witchcraft.
Terrified for her daughter’s immortal soul, the original plan was for Cecilia to attempt to burn them both to death. To everyone’s surprise, however, Jocelyn didn’t burn -- only Cecilia.
This was the original way Jo discovered she’d been taking on Raph’s mutagen. It’d made her fireproof.
As you can see, I’m super glad I didn’t stick to that, lol.
As for Lisa, me making her a cutter was a spur-of-the-moment decision during that scene where she examines her reflection in her undies. The boob thing, though? That was planned from day one -- because I wanted her to very much be Jo’s opposite, and this included general color palette, skills, likes, personality, and body type.
Jo: tall and willowy, grace incarnate, dark skin and blonde hair, super thick lips, generally thin but with a killer ass, rounded face, freckled, minimal piercings, crazy flirty and confident to no end.
Lisa: barely taller than average, kind of stocky and curvy, shapely lips, wide hips and heavy tits, shapely lips and face, zero freckles, tons of piercings, jittery and mousy but also immature and raucous.
By comparison, so far Mei and Pinky are just people. (Note: Mei’s faceclaim so far is Lucy Lui, but Pinky doesn’t have one just yet.) Mei’s also skinny, but that’s cause she’s 100% Chinese and as far as I can tell that’s just how they are. I’ve done a lot of googling and pretty much all young people I’ve found that way are, in a word, skinny. X’D
I’m leaning towards Pinky being the shortest of the girls, maybe in the 5′1″-5′3″ range, but I’m worried about making her too short. The concept is still very much up in the air, lol. This is also the character I once said I was considering being half Puerto Rican, and while I still like that I’m not sure it’ll stick. It might be more fun to make her like Indian or something.
We’ll see. (I’m very much open to suggestion about her, btw, if anyone has any thoughts...and I know it’s not much to go on yet but there’s a reason for that.)
And then there’s Cassie. My redheaded best friend of my best girl, Jo. I really don’t have much to say about her; I introduced her almost entirely to expand the world a bit and give Jocelyn more ties -- a girl like her would damn well have ties, y’know.
I don’t know what it is, but I have a really hard time writing her. She feels very bland, and while that was kind of the intent, it makes it really hard to get a feel for her. Only a few things remain strong when it comes to her: she’s kinda weirded out by the turtles, she supports Jocelyn completely, and she’s just as much of a ballet-enthusiast.
These girls have been friends for almost their literal entire lives. And I think part of the reason why I wrote them like this was out of jealousy -- I’ve never had that kind of a friendship. The oldest friend I can recall was Jenny, when I was five, and she was a BITCH.
I only have two memories of her anymore: 1, she used to invent games for us to play then change the rules on a dime so she’d always be the winner, and 2, I once tried to leave her home and she slammed the door on my fingers.
I sincerely hope she grew out of that, man.
Suffice to say we were not friends for very long. And since then I’ve seen a constant pattern: I can’t keep friends for longer than a few years, and not because I don’t want to.
Because something always happens. They move, I move, someone’s interests shift, we lose contact, a misunderstanding occurs, etc.
I wanted Jocelyn to have something better than a constantly-shifting sea of semi-friends. I wanted her to have best friends, and then THE best friend -- the one who will remain her best friend for the entirety of her life. The one who was there through all the biggest troubles and best celebrations, the one who will be there for all of the troubles and celebrations to come, and the one who knows her better than anyone else ever has (at least until a certain mutant comes into her life).
Lisa, on the other hand, is...me.
Her friendships flagged, drifted, dissolved, changed, and so on. The only constants in her life have been her family. And even then a good portion of her family has never been there, a fact that hurts her whenever she pauses to think about it.
She hurts, she yearns, and there are times she feels completely alone, even in a full room. She’s constantly scared no one understands her or cares about her, and she gets through this by laughing -- at others, at herself, at that one missing piece of the jigsaw puzzle that makes it kind of look like a penis, and so on.
Lisa has always had the support of her family while needing true understanding and affection. Jo has always had affection and the understanding of her closest friend while needing support.
It’s amazing to think about. And while there’s a lot here that I never put into my fics, these are threads and pieces of my characters that have either always been there in the background or have developed as I wrote them. Maybe I never said Lisa was terrified of being alone, but it was in my mind every time I wrote her.
And I just want to take this moment to thank Anon for giving me this opportunity; I’ve always wanted to rant about my girls but never thought anyone would care, so what was the point, y’know?
Thank you, babe. ;)

Why hello there! I am your May 4th Exchange gifter, and I am INCREDIBLY excited for your prompt! To kick off my anon messages, I'd like to ask what your favorite headcanons for Jyn and Cassian are, as individuals rather than as a couple. Can't wait to hear your response! ^^ xoxo
hey there! sorry for only answering now but I’m really glad to hear you’re excited for my prompt because I know it’s a bit of an angsty topic but after reading a bunch of “Cassian is believed to be dead” fics, I always wondered how their relationship would be affected after a trauma like that.
as for headcanons… *cue me forgetting all the headcanons I ever thought of*
I mean besides the general, living-in-denial headcanon that they made it off that beach somehow (which is really the most important headcanon of them all) have these random-ass headanons that came to my mind right now:
I love cat person!Jyn and force sensitive!Jyn, but I think they are both pretty common
I also kind of like force sensitive!Cassian though I’ve seen that less than Jyn
I love Jyn inheriting Galen’s intelligence and being super smart as well
she’d never admit but she doesn’t like/is afraid of the dark due to the whole Saw incident and prefers to sleep with lights on if she can
she’s pretty competitive when she gets into it and can be a sore loser
I like the idea of a Jyn & Han friendship even though they would probably epically hate each other at first
this is a bit Rebelcaptain-y but I also love the concept of her bonding with Kay over their shared love for Cassian and I really wish there was more of this content (IS THERE? PLEASE POINT ME TO IT)
random thought but besides the trademark bun she sports in the movie, I like to imagine her wearing her hair in a braid as well (more RC thrown in there: the image of Cassian braiding her hair for her is good)
for Cassian, I like to imagine he has a nice singing voice (I admit this has to do with Diego but oh well, and because I’m trash and I keep including RC, I’ll also say that I looooove the idea of Cassian singing for Jyn)
I also think he would endure the coldness of Hoth better than most people since he’s native to Fest but he does love to be warm, hence all the puffy big coats and parkas
canonically an Angst King™ and champion of self-loathing, he’s never really relaxed and probably desperately needs a hug
I mean so does Jyn, if we’re being honest, but I think she’s way more touched aversed in general
I like to think he and Leia have met at least once before, I’m flexible on the when, where and how though
he definitely downplays his injuries a lot and will probably never admit if he’s sick/hurt/whatever, partly because he’s uncomfortable with being seen “weak”, partly because he feels undeserving of being cared for, and partly because it keeps him from doing his job
the rebellion has always been his purpose but he does sometimes wish he had something else to live for, it’s not something he often admits to himself though, especially because it makes him feel selfish
he hasn’t spoken Festian in years (it’s something he tries not to think about because he would like to but it opens up a lot of bad memories)
he and Jyn are both definitely light sleepers
they are both also terrible at feelings but that’s canon, the only question is: which one if them is worse? (probably Jyn? but I really think Cassian is sometimes portrayed as too open with his feelings from the start in fics)
I always imagined that comes from a poor but big family, siblings, grandparents, cousins and aunts and uncles, etc
most of them are dead, but some, he just has no idea what happened to them
matching Jyn’s braids headcanon, I love the idea of cute little kid Cassian braiding his older sister’s hair (or younger, whatever floats your boat) it’s just such an adorable image and it’s one of Cassian’s favorite memories

Love Interruption 4
So, I accidentally wrote another Sam chapter. The thing is, he’s a better exposition monkey and also maybe I’m in love with Odie a little bit. Why do you keep talking about my shoulders? LOL, we are all Velma. ANYWAY here’s a long chapter and the next one has Destiel FEELINGS and AWKWARD SILENCES and GROUP THERAPY so if that’s your jam please keep reading I love you all like Sam loves books.
Sam awoke to the sound of the surf. He sighed deeply and raised his head off his pillow on the floor palette Odie had fixed him up in her small living area directly off her kitchen. After ducking in the bathroom, he investigated the tiny cabin looking for her, but it was empty. He helped himself to a bowl of the sweetened coconut rice pudding-type dish he found on the stovetop. Grabbing a mango from a bowl in the center of the metal folding table and a knife, he made his way outside.
He scored a mango half into edible cubes, which clung to the thin green skin until he chewed them off, their sweet juice dribbling down his chin. Odie strode confidently up the beach carrying her surfboard, water droplets on her skin and hair catching the morning sun. She gave Sam a grin that was all white teeth and a big wave with her free hand. Sam waved back and tried not to notice the way her board shorts hugged her strong thighs or the way her yellow bikini top set off her radiant skin.
Sam ducked his head until she was close enough to call to him over the morning waves. “Do all American hunters go to the beach in jeans and boots?” Odie propped her surfboard in its spot along the cabin wall and grabbed a towel from the clothesline.
Sam chuckled self-deprecatingly. “Don’t have many other duds, I guess. This is our first beach trip in a while.” Or ever, he thought. “Plus,” He tapped his boots together firmly where they sat at the end of his crossed legs in the hammock. “It’s sort of our all-purpose uniform. Protect the feet, the skin, layers for different temperatures.” His smile fell a bit. Their lives were not like normal people’s. Sam had a tendency to make himself sad. The downside of being smart, he guessed.
Odie pulled on a graphic tee and gave him a knowing look. “It’s the same here, but you need clothes that won’t get in the way. Loose, sweat-wicking so you don’t dehydrate. Light colors to reflect heat. Flip flops can be lost in a hurry. Sport sandals are better for the jungle.” She jerked her head toward the beach. “Good luck running something down in the sand in those huge clodhoppers.”
Sam made as if he was actually willing to haul himself out of the hammock. “Wanna race? Put your money where your mouth is?”
Odie swatted him with the towel. “I’d hate to humiliate you on your first day. Besides, we have work to do.”
They set up research headquarters at her kitchen table. Odie boasted a premium wifi connection one of her hunter network friends had spliced off the line running to the Stone Jaguar resort where Cas and Dean were staying.
“So, these couples all checked into the resort, and then disappeared on the last day of the couples’ retreat.” Sam summarized. Odie nodded, indicating the proto-murderboard she had rigged up, complete with photos of the couples, their names, and details of their cases underneath it.
“We already had our hunters work with local law enforcement but they’re worthless.” sighed Odie. “They all think the couples were mixed up in drug business in town or kidnapped by Guatamalans near the border.” She tossed her hair disdainfully. “Both theories are ridiculous, of course, but they are eager to write them off because nobody in this part of the country wants to hurt tourism.”
Sam nodded. Made sense, and reminded him of plenty of cases he had worked before. People were pretty much the same everywhere. Willing to turn a blind eye as long as it didn’t affect the status quo.
Odie stood, putting her hands on her hips, pacing in front of the posterboard she had tacked to her kitchen wall. “We also tried interviewing resort employees. They didn’t have any further details. The couples went to the retreat’s final ceremony-a graduation kind of thing. They returned to their rooms, and nobody ever saw them again after that.”
Sam sat back, clicking his pen. “Run through them for me again.” They had been through all of this online already, when he had agreed to come down. A former acquaintance of Eileen’s based in Mexico had connected them. Sam felt a pang at the memory of the brunette hunter, with her sass and bravery and great smile…
“Four couples with no connection I can find. Two in their 50s, one in their 20s, and one in their 30s. One from New York City, one from Sydney, one from rural Alabama, and one from a small town in Northern England. One white couple, one Asian couple, and two mixed-race couples. Three hetero, one same-sex. Two had children; two didn’t.” Odie blew air through her lips in frustration. “It must be opportunity rather than profile.”
Sam agreed, typing on his laptop rapidly. “And the reason we think it’s something supernatural is…” He trailed off. This had been a sensitive topic online. If he was being entirely honest, he didn’t think there was a case here. Maybe the local police were right. Just missing couples in a developing area with higher-than-usual crime.
If he was really willing to look honesty in the face, he’d admit he only agreed to the case to get some beach time and possibly, maybe, just a little part of him wanted to get his brother and Castiel into a couples’ retreat. But Sam was not on trial here.
Odie immediately bristled. “We’ve been over this. It’s too clean. Too neat for humans.” All the couples were found missing the morning they were to check out. Their rooms were undisturbed and locked. All luggage, valuables, and passports remained in place. Nobody saw or heard anything in the night or the morning. No bodies were ever found. They simply vanished.
Sam held a hand out, placating.  “Okay. I believe you.” He didn’t, but Sam was good at talking people down. With patience borne of years dealing with jittery victims and his histrionic brother, he changed tack. “Who are the usual suspects in these parts? Vampires? Werewolves? Ghosts? Shifters?”
Odie gave a weird half shrug. “Yes. And no.” I’ve hunted all of those, but what we get here is a little different. After all, our folklore and indigenous gods are different than what you find in middle America.”
Sam raised his hands over his keyboard again, eager. “Okay, well, I’m okay in Spanish, too. What should I look up? Aztec or Inca?” Odie was silent long enough that Sam looked up to confirm she had heard him. She was doubled over, laughing so hard she wasn’t capable of making sound. She drew in a deep breath and schooled her features.
“Well,” she began in the prim tones of a schoolmarm. “Begin by researching all the lore from Mayan/Mestizo peoples whose cultures were indigenous here. Then add in all the French/Creole traditions of the Garifuna people, those descended from shipwrecks of enslaved Africans bound for the West Indies. Don’t forget the British Hondurans. Then of course the British colonizers themselves. In recent generations the Amish with German-descended lore can be found in many of our farming areas, and our cities are full of Chinese immigrants with their myriad religions.”
Sam pushed back from the table. He realized, of course, how reductive he had been, but he was also frustrated. How would they even begin to pinpoint what they were dealing with here?
He looked up at Odie who was watching him with less mirth now and more wariness. “I’m sorry. That was incredibly stupid. You obviously have been over all of this already, and know more than I even will about your community. What do you need from me? How can I help?”
Odie’s brown eyes measured him, assessing. “First,” she walked over and shut the lid of his laptop with a ‘click.’ “The answer’s not going to be online.” She leaned over him and quirked an eyebrow. “And due to the largely oral culture here, it’s not going to be in one of your books.” She pushed one of the tomes Sam had crammed into his carry-on away from him on the table.
She flopped into a chair next to Sam, sighing. “The reason I wanted a second set of eyes-experienced eyes-” here she cut her gaze to Sam who shifted, uncomfortably. The Winchester brothers were becoming somewhat of elder statesmen as far as hunters were concerned. “-is because I can’t figure it out. It’s…” she pressed her knuckles to her lips, and her gaze fell on a small framed photo on the opposite wall. “It’s not the first case that’s been unsolved here.”
Sam followed her eye line to the photo. A small girl with chubby cheeks and arms clung to a woman in a long skirt with armfuls of jewelry and a long, dark braid. A man with a beard and kind eyes had his arm around her, gazing at the girl adoringly. “Your parents?” Sam nodded towards the picture. They had talked about it a bit online. Hunters were often orphans.
Odie’s lips hardened into a line. She took a deep breath as though to begin a story, then stood abruptly. “I need a drink” she announced, grabbing a worn denim jacket from the hook by the door. She opened the door, then paused with her hand on the handle. “You coming?” She didn’t look behind her. Sam didn’t reply. He just walked past her into the warm night, resplendently clear with a beautiful three-quarter moon.

task six   — ✮:・ pop quiz;
archtype: the realist | alignment: neutral good mbti: enfp-a | enneagram: eight temperament: sanguine | western zodiac: capricorn chinese zodiac: dragon | primal sign: weaver finch hogwarts house: gryffindor | aura: yellow
— ✮:・ { the realist }
traits: practical, understanding, honest, brutal, logical, creator, intelligent, sensible, down-to-earth, reasonable
the realist is most commonly used to symbolize the highest possible outcome in a dire situation. they are the ones who have everything planned, and hand out reality checks as if they were pamphlets to those who need them–which, quite honestly, is everyone who isn’t a realist. although they can be harsh (brutal truth over merciful), they are nurturers and care more than they let on. realists tend to do things that will lead to the best outcome, and use their knowledge of reading people to manipulate situations and problems in order to get out of a rock and a hard place.
— ✮:・ { neutral good }
A neutral good character does the best that a good person can do. He is devoted to helping others. He works with kings and magistrates but does not feel beholden to them. Neutral good is the best alignment you can be because it means doing what is good without bias for or against order. However, neutral good can be a dangerous alignment because when it advances mediocrity by limiting the actions of the truly capable.
— ✮:・ { the campaigner }
enfp-a
The Campaigner personality is a true free spirit. They are often the life of the party, but unlike types in the Explorer Role group, Campaigners are less interested in the sheer excitement and pleasure of the moment than they are in enjoying the social and emotional connections they make with others. Charming, independent, energetic and compassionate, the 7% of the population that they comprise can certainly be felt in any crowd.
— ✮:・ { the challenger }
type eight;
Taking charge, because they don't want to be controlled
People of this personality type are essentially unwilling to be controlled, either by others or by their circumstances; they fully intend to be masters of their fate. Eights are strong willed, decisive, practical, tough minded and energetic. They also tend to be domineering; their unwillingness to be controlled by others frequently manifests in the need to control others instead. When healthy, this tendency is kept under check, but the tendency is always there, nevertheless, and can assume a central role in the Eight's interpersonal relationships.
Eights generally have powerful instincts and strong physical appetites which they indulge without feelings of shame or guilt. They want a lot out of life and feel fully prepared to go out and get it. They need to be financially independent and often have a hard time working for anyone. This sometimes necessitates that the Eight opt out of the system entirely, assuming something of an outlaw mentality. Most Eights however, find a way to be financially independent while making their peace with society, but they always retain an uneasy association with any hierarchical relationship that sees the Eight in any position other than the top position.
— ✮:・ { sanguine }
The sanguine temperament is fundamentally spontaneous and pleasure-seeking; sanguine people are sociable and charismatic. They tend to enjoy social gatherings, making new friends and tend to be boisterous. They are usually quite creative and often daydream. However, some alone time is crucial for those of this temperament. Sanguine can also mean sensitive, compassionate and thoughtful. Sanguine personalities generally struggle with following tasks all the way through, are chronically late, and tend to be forgetful and sometimes a little sarcastic. Often, when they pursue a new hobby, they lose interest as soon as it ceases to be engaging or fun. They are very much people persons. They are talkative and not shy. Sanguines generally have an almost shameless nature, certain that what they are doing is right. They have no lack of confidence.
— ✮:・ – { capricorn }
Capricorns are very ambitious, driven by the need for success, money, position and authority. Their career and succeeding in it is very important to them, so much so that they often prefer to be in charge. But despite their aspirations, they are also very grounded and practical people. Capricorns are ruled by Saturn, the planet of limitations and it is almost as if Saturn realizes that time can be short, therefore they are great organizers and planners.
However, Capricorns are also patient and willing to wait for what they want. Despite their intense focus on their goals, they can be very witty. They are cautious when making decisions, especially decisions that involve money. Not only are they good at saving money, but they also know how to make good investments. Their materialistic drive to amass wealth is due to a Capricorn's need for security. They are very proud people, who usually repay kindness but more because they do not want to feel as if they "owe" anyone anything.
— ✮:・ { dragon }
earth dragon: Smart, ambitious, and hardworking
Among Chinese zodiac animals, the Dragon is the sole imaginary animal. The Dragon is the most vital and powerful beast in the Chinese zodiac, although with an infamous reputation for being a hothead and possessing a sharp tongue. In ancient times, people thought that Dragons could control everything in the world with their character traits of dominance and ambition.
Gifted with innate courage, tenacity and intelligence, dragons are enthusiastic and confident. They are not afraid of challenges, and willing to take risks.
However, the dragon is sometimes regarded as aggressive, and angry dragons are not open to criticism. They don't consider themselves irritating and arrogant. Instead of following tradition, they strive for a smooth future.
— ✮:・ { weaver finch }
Patient, resourceful, and sympathetic, those born under the sign of the Weaver Finch work hard to get ahead. Lucky in money, members of this sign often pride themselves on having nice homes, furniture, and accessories. Sensitive to their surroundings, they need more than just security - they need to express a style all their own. They know they have to earn what they get, and rarely (if ever) rely on luck or the generosity of others to get by.
Like their animal namesakes, members of the Weaver Finch sign are well known for being specialists. Just as the industrious bird builds incredibly intricate nests to retire in, those born under the sign of the Weaver Finch use their organization, patience, and ingenuity to build an amazing life out of what would otherwise appear to be scraps.
The “law of attraction” is particularly strong for Weaver Finches in that they are particularly gifted in attracting the things they think about the most. The tricky part is that they are often focused on all the wrong things! The love of money, power, status, beauty, and emotional experience can overpower the very best of intentions for this sign. Likewise, they must be particularly careful to keep a positive, optimistic attitude through hardships as their own attitude will be the biggest factor in how long obstacles take to conquer.
Members of this sign have loads of drive, but a great deal of self-doubt as well. Their own worries and hesitations will be their biggest obstacles, rather than outside forces. Being more artistic and creative than others who share the Capricorn sun sign, Weaver finches will also be more emotionally sensitive than other Capricorns. When trouble arises they can easily become lethargic and melancholy, though they eventually pick themselves up and keep going.
Weaver Finches are not meant for crisis or conflict. Ever focused on the task at hand, they often avoid uncomfortable situations in order to avoid the negative feelings that come with them. Some Weaver Finches will be excellent in crisis, while others will fall apart under the same circumstances, depending on planetary positions in each individual’s birth chart.
— ✮:・ { gryffindor }
The Gryffindor house emphasizes the traits of courage as well as “daring, nerve, and chivalry,” and thus its members are generally regarded as brave, though sometimes to the point of recklessness. They can also be short-tempered.
— ✮:・ { yellow }
Yellow personalities are the sunniest, happiest and most childish people in the color spectrum of the auras. All they need is to have fun. These playful people have a wonderful sense of humor. They love to laugh and enjoy life from many different angles. They always remind others not to take life too seriously and always look positively. Life and work should be fun. They measure life by how happy and satisfied and how well they feel. “Life is like a box of chocolates, it is sweet and very funny.” Yellow personalities are intelligent, bright and radiant people. They learn things easily and receive information without asking for relationship or the reasons for it. They like to work with their mind and at the same time dealing with the philosophies of ideas and concepts. Yellow people are highly sensitive. They are like antennas and feel what other people feel or what vibrations are broadcast in a room. Their bodies are too sensitive and receptive to the information generated by our technologically advanced society. As a result, they are overloaded very quickly

Final Fantasy VII Zodiacs
Cloud Strife
Tumblr media
Leo:
Strengths:   Passionate,  generous, warm-hearted, cheerful, humorous, faithful and loving
Weaknesses:  Pompous, patronizing,  arrogant, stubborn, self-centered, lazy, inflexible
Year of the Tiger:
Strengths: Tolerant, loyal, valiant, courageous, trustworthy, intelligent, virtuous
Weaknesses: Arrogant, short-tempered, hasty, traitorous
Primal Zodiac:Wolverine
Strong, proud, and emotional, those born under the sign of the Wolverine are born leaders who can rise to a challenge with the best of them. Like their animal namesake, Wolverines never back down, even to much bigger opponents. Their powerful presence and confidence in battle intimidate even the most resolved competitors, allowing them to achieve unlikely victories in territories that most others would fear to tread. With such a strong personality, one might expect members of this sign to be serious all of the time, but in reality nothing could be further from the truth. Though less pronounced, Wolverines show their playful side often. In fact, if given the opportunity, they would prefer every day to be a lazy day filled with good food and rousing entertainment, but they also know that if they want to achieve their goals they must get up and fight for what they want.  Wolverines spend a good deal of energy putting forth a self-image that they want others to believe in. Pride is incredibly important to members of this sign, and in truth a great deal of their fight comes from the need to prove that they can match the power and intensity of anyone around them. If it were possible, they would make it so they could never show any weakness or uncertainty again. What they fail to realize is that it is their faults that make them charming and relate-able. Without their imperfections they risk coming across as overly aggressive and competitive, which many people find off-putting.Though they can be among the most fun people you will ever meet, they also have a darker side that comes out when things don’t go their way. In fact, Wolverines have a reputation for sulking if they don’t get their way. Members of this sign want to be in control all of the time, and they don’t share the leadership role well. When they are happy they are outgoing, gregarious, and kind, but when they are upset these traits quickly disappear. The caveat is that Wolverines are far too proud to put their negative emotions on display, though they also don’t hide them as well as they think they do.Ultimately, Wolverines want to be the best all the time. They can be controlling and moody when they are “off”, but when they are “on” there are few stars that shine as brightly as they do. With maturity will come stability, but Wolverines don’t have to worry too much about directing their energy one way or another. Unlike many other signs, those born under this one can typically let their intuition and natural ways of being guide them through life successfully. As long as Wolverines remember that they don’t always have to win, life can be whatever they want it to be.
Symbolism of the Wolverine: Wild, Power, Strength, Attitude, Courage, Warrior, Defense, Confidence, Ferocious, Aggressive, Adaptable, Resourceful, Commanding, Determination, Uncompromising
Wolverine shows as a spirit guide when...
You want to make a point.
Showing superiority.
Gaining respect by showing love and not by fear.
You want to make things happen.
Using your abilities.
Call on wolverine as a spirit guide when...
You want to be heard and you want to emphasize your position.
Showcasing your command ability.
You want to be respected and not to be feared.
You want to manipulate things.
Deciding whether to do things positively or negatively.

Sagittarius:
Strengths: Generous, idealistic, great sense of humor,  optimistic,  honest and straightforward
Weaknesses: Promises more than can deliver, very impatient, will say anything no matter how undiplomatic, tactless, irresponsible
Year of the Rat:
Strengths:  quick-witted, resourceful, versatile, kind, smart, opportunistic, adaptable, smart, cautious, acute, alert, positive, flexible, outgoing, cheerful
Weaknesses: Timid, unstable, stubborn, narrow-minded, picky, impolite, not natural born leaders
Primal Zodiac: Skunk
The first thing most people think of when they hear the word “skunk” is the noxious odor the animal can emit as a defensive maneuver. Less talked about is the thick-skinned, independent, and solitary nature of this animal or how it prefers a wide range of land to call home rather than a single den. It is these attributes that best represent those born under the Primal Zodiac sign of the Skunk. Members of this sign live by their own philosophy and prefer to follow their own path instead of taking the easy road. Confident, energetic, and independent, they seek new life experiences and rarely stay in one place for too long. Like their animal namesake, Skunks don’t care if you like them or not - they are going to do what they want and have no trouble leaving others behind. Most people know better than to cross them, as they are idealists who hold their ground when challenged.Skunks are witty and tend to have a somewhat dark sense of humor. They find reality far more intriguing than absurdity and can find humor where others can only see tragedy. They are not morose, but observant. They have good instincts and trust their senses, though they don’t pay much attention to anything beyond their momentary point of view. Skunks only look forward, never back. They are not sentimental and don’t dwell on the past. They are far more concerned with what’s around the corner than what they’ve left behind. Some people consider them selfish because of this, but in truth Skunks just want to be left alone to do what they think is best and usually extend others this same courtesy. Ironically, they are at their best when focused on helping others. Though they can and should have a life of adventure, too much time alone can cause them to become selfish, aggressive, and greedy. Likewise, they shouldn’t allow themselves to become bored just to please others. A bored Skunk is the worst kind. Without excitement and energy they can easily surrender to their dark side, becoming blunt, irritable, judgmental, restless, and unfocused.
Symbolism of the skunk: Defense, Prudence, Protection, Confidence, Awareness, Pacification, Effectiveness, Good judgement
Skunk shows up as a spirit guide when...
You need to have self esteem.
You should be playful
You need to be patient.
You need to accept who you are.
You need to express yourself with respect and respect others.
Call on Skunk as a spirit guide when...
You need to have a will power.
You need to have self confidence.
You need to have a good reputation.
You need to understand the flow of energy.
You need courage.

Taurus:
Strengths:  Reliable, patient, practical, devoted, responsible, stable, warmhearted, loving,
Weaknesses:  Stubborn, possessive, uncompromising, self-indulgent, greedy, jealous
Year of the Rabbit:
Strengths:  Gentle, quiet, elegant, alert, quick, skillful, kind, and patient; and particularly responsible, faithful, demure, amiable
Weaknesses: Timid, stubborn, melancholy, conservative, hesitant
Primal Zodiac: Hedgehog
Those born under the sign of the Hedgehog are friendly, reserved, stylish, and sensitive. Like their animal namesake they can be shy and defensive, especially in unfamiliar situations, but once they open up to you they are great friends to have around. It usually takes a while to get to know a Hedgehog. It’s not because they are unfriendly or impolite - in fact they value manners and politeness very highly - it’s just that they don’t talk about themselves very much and tend to be very uncomfortable in unfamiliar places or with unfamiliar people. Those with the patience to get to know them on their terms will find them to be very warm, friendly, and well-mannered. They don’t like to say bad things about anyone, and equally don’t like bad things said about them. If you become very close friends with a Hedgehog you will find that they are welcoming hosts, engaging conversationalists, and imaginative thinkers with a lot more to say than one would expect. Hedgehogs like to do things their own way and on their own terms. They are surprisingly stubborn and determined for having such an easygoing nature. They don’t need to brag about how good they are at something - they just go out and succeed. Hedgehogs have creative minds and are more ambitious than they appear. While others are out socializing, Hedgehogs often spend a lot of time on their own mastering their craft or learning a new skill.
Symbolism of the hedgehog: Energy, Vitality, Fertility, Intuition, Protection, Perception, Intelligence, Uniqueness, Resourcefulness

Call on Hedgehog as a spirit guide when…

Primal Zodiac: Walrus
People born under the Walrus sign are likely some of the most curious people you will ever meet. They can be exceptionally smart and hardworking to a fault. They have big ideas that they have no intention of allowing to simply remain ideas. It’s tempting to think of Walruses as the cartoonish mad scientist or absent-minded inventor making fantastic machines in his basement, but in reality Walruses are much more grounded than this. They have many layers to their thinking, but are always fair with others. They are not overtly social, yet they work extremely hard on projects with the intention that others can benefit from them. The best way to describe a Walrus is as a person who works hard to succeed, but has to do things their own way. Walruses aren’t inherently rebellious, they just know what needs to be done and trust themselves to do it. They don’t like to follow the typical ways of doing things, mostly because they’ve already figured out how to do them better.
Symbolism of the walrus:  Ability to see the beauty in everyone, lesson on the importance of life, perceptive, dreams, intuition, evolution

You need to focus on spiritual growth or enlightenment.
Faith is being lost.
You can’t see the proverbial forest for the trees.
You need to seek knowledge, it allows you to know the questions that  you need to ask.
You are promoted or seeking higher education.
Call on a Walrus as a spirit guide when...
You want to learn or are seeking a teacher in real aspects of life.
Seek a balance between reality and grounding.
Are dealing with the loss of a loved one.
Feel overwhelmed emotionally.

Primal Zodiac: Panda
In the animal kingdom, the famous giant panda is one of the most contradictory animals by nature. They are popular but loners, bears who don’t hibernate, carnivores that eat 99% bamboo, are territorial but don’t live in one place, are strong and potentially dangerous but shy away from confrontation. Humans born under the sign of the Panda share many similarities. Members of this sign tend to be popular but loners, want to go with flow but have to feel in charge of their own destiny, long to relax but are always working on projects, are ambitious yet uncertain, want to do things that help others yet are often self-focused, and have creative minds that are often focused on success and achievement.Rather than see things as they are, Pandas see the world in terms of how it affects them personally. They have a desire to improve the world around them, but their approach to doing so is a bit different from others. Members of this sign believe that by being their best and improving their own lives they are doing what they can to improve their surroundings, which makes things better for everyone. Others may interpret this behavior as self-centered, but this is genuinely the best way for Pandas to operate.Pandas are surprisingly shy. They can be territorial loners who live in their own little world, but this is by design. Those born under this sign are quiet, collected, and focused but can become obsessive, overly critical, and anxious if left alone for too long. Though they need time alone, Pandas should be careful not to isolate themselves from the world. Private and reserved, it can be hard for Pandas to find the right social scene, but it’s important that they try.The biggest challenge for Pandas in life is finding their place in the world. In their youth they will likely isolate themselves to work on esoteric projects and personal interests, but over time they must realize that they do, in fact, need others to help make their visions into reality. Pandas also have a hard time feeling content, and too often second-guess themselves. Though ambitious, they must also realize that there is time to work and time to play, and they can afford to do both.
Symbolism of the panda: Opposites, Discretion, Docility, Thankfulness, Peace,  Keeping, Slow and steady action, Scrutiny, Privacy, Equilibrium, Flexibility, Global mindedness, Subtle strength, Earth Element (particularly plants), Resolve, Determination

Primal Zodiac: Silkworm
A combination of the two most passive signs in their respective zodiacs, the Primal Zodiac sign of Silkworm belongs to those born under the tropical sun sign of Pisces during the Chinese Year of the Rabbit. This should not be interpreted, though, as saying that the Silkworm is weak. Members of this sign are among the most creative and intuitive people in the world. The difference between a weak or a strong Silkworm will be the amount of self-confidence they build. Silkworms are very emotional and easily influenced, so having strong role-models around, particularly in their younger and more formative years, will make a tremendous difference. While this combination may be sensitive and emotional, they are also capable of creating great things. When they are feeling good, there are few who can match the creative power of their minds. They have the ability to see things in an entirely unique way, and thus are capable of great innovations. Just look at the life’s work of fellow Silkworm Albert Einstein for proof. The good thing is that the natural serenity of the Rabbit eases the inherent tendency of Pisces to become overly worked up while questioning everything in life. Kindness and compassion are very important to this sign; so much so that they have a tendency to give too much too often and find themselves worn down and burnt out. In nature, silkworms do not survive in the wild. They must be carefully raised and bred by humans, and eventually give their lives for the beautiful and delicate silk that they produce. This is an apt metaphor for those born under the sign of the Silkworm. Though they may seem too delicate to survive the rigors of the outside world, members of this sign must be able to grow beyond themselves to create the beauty that they alone are able to. Silkworms will give anything and everything for what they believe in, which to some seems like too much, but to them seems to be the very purpose of their existence.

Primal Zodiac: Tasmanian devil
Emotional, intense, and idealistic, those born under the sign of the Tasmanian Devil are anything but predictable. Initially coming across as mild-mannered, most people will quickly notice that there is more to this sign than meets the eye. Though they romanticize about being seen as the strong, stoic friend to others, in real life they are much more transparent than they think. Tasmanian Devils wear their emotions on their sleeves. They hold strongly romantic ideas about life and the people in it. They fantasize about a future in which every day is like a wonderful dream that you never wake up from. When they open their eyes and see that the world isn’t perfect and they are not yet the hero, disappointment sets in.In the animal kingdom, the Tasmanian devil is famous for having a wild streak that can show itself at the slightest hint of confrontation. Likewise, those born under the sign of the Tasmanian Devil are the most emotional when reacting, rather than when acting. On their own they may be peaceful, friendly, and sincere, but the moment someone challenges them on any level their blood begins to boil. They may want nothing more than a peaceful conversation, but they can’t stand not defending their opinions when someone expresses an opinion other than their own.Tasmanian Devils can also become obsessive. They have artistic, creative minds and it is mostly likely going to be some kind of artistic or charitable venture that they will find worthy of prolonged attention. Tasmanian Devils often channel their energy, passion, and even fears into an art form. The most common of which are music, graphic arts, and writing. They do best if they find a partner, group, or mentor to help keep their energy focused.Staying focused on a productive venture is important for this sign to maintain balance, and maintaining balance is by far the biggest challenge for this sign. Few others need a sense of balance as strongly as this sign. Tasmanian Devils have a lot of energy that needs to be released. Regular exercise is highly recommended for Tasmanian Devils. Without this, pent up energy turns into pent up emotions, which can turn those born under this sign from calm to frenzied at any moment. With so many live-wire characteristics, it’s important for members of this sign to focus on the good things happening around them. For a Tasmanian Devil, emotional momentum goes a long way. Focusing their formidable energy towards positive things prevents that same energy from turning into moodiness, restlessness, or indecisiveness - all of which are common to this sign.Tasmanian Devils almost always good intentions, and may even be very passionate about something. They are always willing to take on a challenge, but often become overwhelmed, bored or disinterested after the project has started. Members of this sign rarely plan ahead, so they have to rely on their energy to carry them through. Unfortunately many give up at the obstacle in their path, preferring to start a new project rather than try to fix the old one.
Symbolism of the tasmanian devil: Self-defense, magic, protection of territory, ability to use perseverance when necessary, understanding of how and when to fight, brutal honesty, fighting disease, The wisdom of aggression
