Only the Good Die Young (Part 3)
Summary: Before you could commit to a future with Bucky, you had to learn about his past
Pairing: Biker!Bucky x y/n
Word Count: 2.4k
Warnings: Terrible language, anti-religious sentiment, harmful relationship with parents, smoking
Author's Note: Lordy, it’s a good job Billy Joel has such a banging back catalogue. This is inspired by the lovely ‘Just the Way You Are’.
---
Soft sunlight bled through the curtains and caused your eyes to flicker open. As they adjusted to the brightness, the slightly stained roof of the trailer bedroom came into focus. Memories of the night before slowly trickled back into your mind and you smiled to yourself, stretching your arms upwards. When you moved to spread them sideways across the bed, you expected one of them to hit another body, but both just dropped straight onto the mattress.
You jerked upright, scanning the room for life. You were alone. Wrapping the sheet around yourself and scooching off the bed, you scurried through to the front room. Buck was probably just making breakfast or something.
No sign of him.
Clutching the sheet a little tighter, you opened the trailer door, only to see that his bike was missing too. A mild panic started to set in as you were unable to prevent hundreds of depressing scenarios racing through your mind simultaneously.
Why would he drive off without saying anything?
You gathered your clothes, dumped unceremoniously in a pile on the floor, and threw them on. Taking a few deep breaths, you tried to calm yourself down, but you couldn’t fight off the intrusive thoughts. The rational part of you knew that he’d probably just nipped out quickly, that he’d return soon, but in the back of your mind you couldn’t stop worrying that he’d got what he wanted and left for good.
Why didn’t he leave a note or wake you?
You spent the next fifteen minutes searching, pacing and overthinking, until finally, you heard a motorbike engine approaching in the distance.
A wave of relief hit you. Maybe you’d overreacted a little.
You were just scared. You knew that if this fling with Bucky went on much longer, it would grow into something with the potential to absolutely shatter you. It was terrifying to think how invested you were in a guy you’d only properly known for a matter of days. You couldn’t shake your mother’s shrill voice, incessantly warning you about him and his reputation.
At least if it ended now, it’d be a little easier to pick up the pieces.
‘Oh hey.’ Bucky came through the door with a paper bag full of groceries. He circled an arm around your waist, planting a kiss on your cheek before moving to the kitchen. ‘I grabbed a few things from the store, figured you were probably tired of hot dogs.’
‘You didn’t wake me up, I would’ve come with.’
‘Ah you’ve never seen yourself sleeping. Waking up that face would feel like slapping a puppy.’ Chuckling, he glanced over, noticing that you were a little subdued. He squinted and smirked. ‘Were you worried?’
You slid your hands into your pockets, trying so hard to look relaxed that you probably ended up looking like a junkie in withdrawal. ‘Worried?’
‘Man, I can read you like a book. You thought I was gone for good, thought all I wanted was a roll in the hay, didn’t ya?’ He grinned and stopped putting away the groceries, instead moving over to you and placing his hands on your waist. ‘I mean that last part is true, but I thought I might as well come back for seconds.’
You smacked him on the shoulders, trying to suppress a smile. ‘Asshole.’
---
Bucky suggested the two of you drive down to the beach, get some fresh air to take your mind off what he called your ‘runaway boyfriend complex’. He was also completely beside himself when you admitted that you’d never been to the seaside- the church camp you went to every single childhood summer was deep in the forest, about as far from a beach as you could get.
After driving for a while you started smelling the sea air. Fresh and briny, you couldn’t stop pulling in lungfuls of it, drinking the scent like a thick soup. You watched over Bucky’s shoulder as the green horizon was gradually swallowed by blue, as far as the eye could see. It was breathtaking.
He stopped the bike close to the edge of the sand. The weather was cool and breezy with clouds covering the sky, so the beach was all but empty. You surveyed the vast expanse of sand stretching in both directions.
You didn’t know why it took an intervention by Bucky for you to realise how much more there is to the world than god and grades, but you did know that you owed him a hell of a lot for doing it.
Too distracted by the view and by your profound inner monologue, you didn’t notice what he was up to. He’d pulled his shoes and socks off along with his jacket, dumping them next to the bike. He only caught your attention when he raced out in front of you, shouting ‘what the hell you waiting for, doll-face?’
You quickly followed suit, undressing and running to catch up with him.
The crisp sea breeze and the soft sand between your toes should probably have been relaxing, but the gradually closing gap between you and Bucky was making your heart thump like a bass drum. He slowed down and you took the opportunity to jump up onto his back.
Holding your legs tight, he started spinning around, but you slipped from his grasp and landed flat onto the sand.
‘Shit, are you alright?’ He dropped onto his hands and knees over you, concern melting from his face when he realised you were laughing.
‘Didn’t realise you had such a weak grip, Barnes.’
‘Right, that’s it.’ He gathered you up in his arms. ‘You’re going in the sea.’
He waded in up to his knees, threatening to drop you whenever you tried to wriggle. It took some convincing before he let you down, and he roared with laughter at your reaction to the freezing water.
After paddling for a while, the two of you went to sit down on some rocks. You brushed all the windswept hairs out of your eyes, your feet were tingling with cold and sand was making your thighs chafe, but the giddy grin didn’t shift from your face for a second.
Bucky took out a pack of cigarettes and placed one between his lips, fumbling around in his pockets for a lighter. You considered for a second before hesitantly holding your hand out to him, silently requesting one. He looked down at it then up to your face, raising one eyebrow in suspicion.
‘You ever tried one before?’ You shook your head faintly, a little embarrassed at your lack of experience. He smirked and pushed the pack back into his pocket. ‘Nah.’
‘Nah?’
‘Don't go changing to try and please me.’ He lit the cigarette and put an arm around your shoulders. ‘I like you just the way you are.’
Admittedly, you were semi-aiming for a Sandy-from-Grease type situation there, but it was probably a good thing that he shot you down before you embarrassed yourself with a phlegmy coughing fit.
Besides, you’d never been a huge fan of the whole change yourself to impress guys message. At least Bucky seemed to feel the same.
‘C’mon.’ He stood up and offered you his arm. ‘It’s freezing, let’s go back.’
---
As soon as you were both through the door, Bucky caught your mouth with his and moved your legs up around his waist, carrying you over to the sofa. Your back hit the armrest and you pulled him tight to you, toes curling in anticipation. His mouth moved down to your neck and your chest shuddered at the feeling of his soft lips and warm breath. You felt his hand snake up underneath your shirt, causing you to arch your back further into him. You closed your eyes, completely relaxing under his touch.
Suddenly, the trailer door swung open, hitting the outside wall with an almighty crash.
The sound made you jump out of your skin. Bucky snapped his head round before swiftly launching himself off you. A heavy boot landed through the entrance, followed by two shaking hands fumbling around to grab the doorframe and heave a stooped, burly body through the gap.
‘What the hell are you doing?’ Bucky was almost shouting at the swaying figure standing in the doorway. ‘I told you I was here.’
‘You didn’t tell me nothin’ boy.’
The stranger had the voice of a lifelong chain-smoker or an alcoholic who only drank kerosene, by the looks of him he was quite possibly both. You swung your legs off the couch and scooched yourself to the edge of the seat, readying for some kind of fight-or-flight situation, not that you’d be much use at either.
The guest nodded towards you. ‘Who’s that?’
Bucky gestured his hand in your direction. ‘This is y/n.’ Then he turned to look at you with some kind of vague warning in his eyes. ‘Y/n, this is my old man.’
Ah. Shit.
Old man gave a gruff chuckle, pushing past his son and stumbling to the kitchen. He coughed harshly into his hand for a minute before beginning to haphazardly rifle through the cupboards.
Bucky rubbed his forehead, not wavering his gaze from his father. It was jarring to see him so stressed. If this situation was enough to make him freak out, maybe his father was more dangerous than he looked.
‘Not your usual type, son.’ You looked over to see the intruder propped against the counter, leering at you over a can of beer.
‘Don’t.’ Bucky’s voice was low, threatening. ‘Take what you want and go, alright?’
‘What’s the deal with this one then? Prison? Meth?’ He was smirking as he took a long gulp from his can, watching Bucky tense up and approach him slowly.
You shifted uncomfortably, feeling the tension weighing heavy in the air. The two men were face to face now, one still slouched, the other stood menacingly straight with his jaw clenched and shoulders squared.
‘She a hooker?’
Bucky swiftly grabbed two fistfuls of his father’s shirt and pulled him away from the counter, the half-empty beer clattering to the ground and exploding with suds. You felt foolish just sitting there, watching, but there was no way in hell you were going to intervene.
‘You gonna hit me son?’ The intruder spat, his face inches away from his son’s. ‘Over a bit of cheap tail?’
Bucky stood firm, looking as though he was ready to crack the man’s skull against the wall.
‘Hey, you.’ The father turned his head towards you, chuckling and flashing a wicked grin. ‘I got a joke for you.’
‘Don’t talk to her.’
‘It’s one of my boy’s favourites, he loves it.’ He glared at you through glazed eyes. ‘What’s a woman?’
You just stared back at him, waiting.
‘A life support system for a cunt.’
With that Bucky seemed to snap, spinning round and shoving his father harshly towards the open door. Unable to stay balanced on his trembling legs, the man stumbled backwards through the gap and landed with a loud thud on the grass outside. Bucky quickly jumped out after him, slamming the door, leaving you alone inside the trailer.
You heard shouting and crashing, prompting you to jump up from your seat and cross over to the front window. The fight had moved by the time you drew the curtain back, you couldn’t see them but god you hoped Bucky was winning.
You didn’t know why, but in that moment the only useful thing you felt you could do was clean up all the spilled beer. Grabbing a fistful of kitchen towels, you knelt down and wiped them over the puddle, feeling hot tears welling up in your eyes.
You’d almost finished when the trailer door clicked open and Bucky stumbled back in, grazes on his knuckles and blood dripping from his nose. He didn’t look at you, just stumbled over to the couch and flopped down, head in his hands.
You grabbed a cloth and wet it, moving over silently and sitting beside him.
‘Let me see.’ It was barely a whisper, you had no idea if he was still volatile.
To your relief, he dropped his hands and fell backwards into the cushions. It looked like he’d taken a firm punch to the nose, but it wasn’t broken. The worst injuries he had were on his knuckles, you hated to imagine what his dad’s face ended up looking like.
He flinched as you pressed the towel to his hand, his eyes started searching your face.
‘I didn’t want you to hear all that stuff. Not like that, anyway. Not from him.’
You weren’t sure how to respond to that. You didn’t want to lie and say that his father’s words hadn’t upset you- hearing about his past from someone that actually knew him had just reignited all your worries. You knew people could change but, that much? That fast?
‘Would you have told me if he hadn’t?’ You muttered, keeping your gaze fixed on his injuries, avoiding his eyes as best you could.
He chuckled. ‘Yeah, eventually I would’ve told you that I used to have terrible taste in girls and jokes.’
You didn’t react, causing his chuckles to fade awkwardly. He moved his hand up to cup the side of your face, gently shifting it up so your gaze met his. He squinted at you slightly, prompting you to speak
You sighed. ‘Why are you interested in me, Buck? I know you said you like me how I am and everything, but I’m obviously not your type at all.’
‘I don’t know.’ The honesty of that hit you pretty hard. He stroked his thumb across your cheek. ‘I think we’re the same. Your parents chose the bible, mine chose the bottle, both of us got royally fucked up as a result.’
‘I don’t know if trauma bonding is a great foundation for a relationship.’
He bit his lip, his voice swimming with desperate sincerity. ‘I just want someone I can talk to, I’m tired of having some pretty face tell me pretty lies.’
‘I’m just struggling to see a happy ending here Buck.’ Tears were welling in your eyes and your voice was cracking. ‘We don’t have any money or support, I don’t even know if I can afford to go back to college.’
He pulled you into a tight hug.
‘I took the good times, I’ll take the bad times.’

We moved west, staying north, and found a place to camp far from where any Pinkertons were still patrolling. We travelled for hours, all through the remaining hours of the night, through the morning and into the afternoon. We ended up at Cotorra Springs when the sun began to set; it was cooler there and when we found a spot away from any trails, pretty secluded, we decided it was as good a place as any. The rushing sound of the geysers erupting every now and then kept making me jump at first but soon became a somewhat comforting sound. A reminder that no matter what happened, life always carried on, the world wasn't going to stop spinning and fall to pieces just yet.
We set up a small campsite with a few tents and a fire, over which we cooked meat from a deer that Charles had hunted while the rest of us set up. None of us knew how long we would be there but it was clear that we all needed some food and some rest before we even attempted to figure out our next move. We all sat around the fire with our food and little Jack was asleep with Cain by his side; the dog had tagged along with us on our journey, jumping atop the Marston's wagon whenever he got too tired.
"What exactly are we all gonna do?" John was the first one to bring up the elephant in the room, and everyone turned to eye him almost irritatedly.
Nobody spoke up or offered any sort of response, and after a moment, Lenny threw his hat in the ring.
"It's a good question. We can't live like this forever, can we?"
"Course not," Arthur said. He didn't quite snap the words but they weren't untroubled. "We've got a chest full of money on that wagon, we'll… we'll figure out what everyone wants to do and split it accordingly."
"I don't want a penny of that money," Sadie hissed, then spat into the fire, "reeks of Dutch and Micah and dirty betrayal."
"Hey, that implies it was all their money. Dutch barely put a penny in if it weren't from a job we all did together," John scoffed.
"I don't want it either but let's be rational. We're gonna need it," Charles said, looking at Sadie. "We didn't just go through all that only to starve to death at the end of it, all because of pride."
"He's got a point," I agreed. "I don't think any of us should have a problem taking that bastard's money," I added.
"Ain't his money," John shook his head, picking at something stuck in his teeth, "it's our half, fair 'n' square."
"Yeah," I nodded after a moment, but frowned a little. Silence lingered.
"It's obvious none of us feel too good about takin' it," Abigail broke it, stating the unspoken.
"I feel fine," John snorted.
"Me too, for the most part," I hesitantly agreed. Arthur sighed beside me and everyone looked at him.
"For the love of God, not a single one of you refuse that money. This is hard enough, at this point, that money's the only thing that made this possible. Without money, we're trapped, and if we're trapped, we'll end up in the damn ground," he told us through tensely gritted teeth. More silence followed, broken by Susan.
"You're right, Mr. Morgan. This ain't no time for pride and making things needlessly hard on ourselves. We've just gotta take this opportunity to get the heck out of this mess, so I don't wanna hear no bellyaching from any of you," she said sternly, and John nodded in agreement. Lenny took a breath, and nodded too.
"And what're you gonna do Miss Grimshaw?" I asked her softly. She met my eyes across the fire, her brows arching a little in surprise that I'd asked.
"Me? I'm- I'm–" she began hesitantly, and glanced at the others before letting out a breath.
"You ain't thought about it none?" Abigail asked, and Susan turned her gaze to her.
"Quite the opposite," she scoffed a laugh, then patted the side of her hair bun in an attempt at brushing back fly-aways. "Maybe I'm just a little bit ashamed to admit that I've been planning for this for a while."
My eyes widened, and so did most of the others'.
"Oh come on. Please. A woman would have to be foolish to not consider a few back up plans in this way of life. Especially with how things have been the past few months. Even Miss O'Shea had her plans," she added, and my eyes dropped down at her mention. I always felt strange about the whole Molly situation, considering I was potentially the last person to really talk to her.
"You ain't wrong. So what's your plan?" Abigail asked.
"I know a lot of people Miss Roberts, I have options," she chuckled. "But I think I envision a future in moonshine. An old friend of mine's been wanting to go into business together for a while now, I think I'll pay her a visit."
"Which old friend is this, anyone we know?" Arthur questioned.
"No. If you knew her, you'd know exactly who I'm talking about. She ain't a lady you easily forget," Susan chuckled, shaking her head.
"Ain't nothing to do with those Braithwaites, then?" John snorted and Susan rolled her eyes.
"The Maggie I know would sooner hang than have anything to do with those idiots," she laughed. I smiled as I watched her laugh, feeling my admiration for her swell. Susan was a woman I would never be like, and I knew I'd miss her sorely despite all of the times I'd giggled when one of the girls would roll their eyes or pull a face at her behind her back. I knew everyone had a lot of love for her, and I did too.
"What about you then, Lenny?" Arthur asked. "What's your plan?"
"Ohh, I'll be a rolling stone for a while I think, see where life takes me. I’d like to… learn,” he said almost hesitantly, a mild frown puckering the skin between his brows. His eyes lifted and settled on Charles for a brief moment, “maybe, if the stars align, I might just have a chance at making something of myself,” he laughed, but there was an ugly reality behind his words that bittered them slightly, though he kept smiling, and it was no accident that it was Charles that his eyes landed on. The smile that Charles returned to him was one of quiet understanding.
“My father, he wanted me to be a lawyer,” Lenny turned his grin to me, his eyes brightening a little. “From bank robber to lawyer, can you imagine that?”
I chuckled, despite the fact that with Lenny’s intelligence, charisma and articulateness, I didn't doubt his capability.
“Dutch always said I had too much potential to stay robbing banks for the rest of my life,” he breathed, looking down into the fire, the flames reflecting in his eyes, making them shine bright even though his energy dulled a little at his mention. Yet another silence fell across the campfire and I kept my eyes on the young man before me, so full of potential yet held back by so many factors far out of his control, and my heart hurt.
“I think that's the only thing I know of that came out of his mouth and made a lick of sense,” I noted. He looked at me, held my gaze for a few moments, then released a quiet breath.
“Maybe I’ll head to Washington D.C. Try to get a job, or go to school. I don't know about being a lawyer,” he breathed a laugh and shook his head, “but doing something… more than what I have been doing. That’d be good. I think my dad would be proud of that.”
“Your dad would be proud of you already, Lenny. I mean that. You’re a good kid, got a good heart,” Arthur told him, and everyone made a show of agreement, nodding, humming confirmations and patting him on the shoulder.
“Thanks, all’a you, I… it's been quite a ride, ain’t it?” Lenny sighed.
“That it has…” Charles trailed off.
“And I think I’m gonna hit the hay,” Abigail announced, dropping her plate on the ground before rising to her feet. I watched as she very carefully bundled Jack up into her arms. “Goodnight, y’all.”
“Goodnight,” the rest of us whispered softly, as if suddenly we would all wake up the boy, even though he’d been sleeping just fine before.
“I need some sleep too,” John agreed, and it set off a chain reaction, and Lenny and Susan retired to their sleeping spots. Charles drained the contents of his bottle of the beer that Sadie had managed to snag before we all left.
“Arthur, tomorrow night we should…” he said quietly as he rose to his feet, trailing off. Arthur met his eyes and stared silently for a while, then nodded.
“We will.”
“Alright. Thank you,” Charles nodded, then headed towards his tent.
“I weren’t planning on leaving him, not for a second,” Arthur called after him and Charles waved a hand dismissively, smiling over his shoulder at him.
“I know. Goodnight, folks,” he added, then crawled inside his tent to bed down for the night. I glanced at Arthur for some clarification and his eyes dropped to the ground.
“Eagle Flies got captured by the army. I said I’d break him out, I have to, princess–”
“Don't think I’m gonna try to stop you,” I whispered. He turned his head towards me, and I kissed his cheek.
“Thank you. He got caught when I was helping Dutch screw the lot of ‘em over, pretending to be helpful. I gotta speak to him and his father, tell them about what happened with the gang today. Eagle Flies can’t keep on trusting him, getting sucked in by his fancy words just like I did at his age. It won’t do anyone any good in the end,” he explained, and I nodded in agreement.
"You need some help breaking him out?" Sadie questioned. Arthur met her eyes and shook his head.
"Charles has a plan, shouldn't need more than the two of us."
"In that case, maybe there's something you can help me with instead," she said, leaning forwards, elbows on knees. My stomach squeezed a bit at the way her eyes lit with devilish determination. "O'Driscolls. There's a bunch of 'em hiding out over at Hanging Dog Ranch."
"Sadie–" Arthur began, his hand raising.
"With Colm gone and with just a few stragglers left, we can end those bastards for good," she cut him off, her hands clenching into fists. I took a breath and looked down at my feet, pressing my lips together.
"Sadie, I… I don't think we– we just got out of a bad situation, we're doing all we can just to get by–" he began again, and I could feel his tense but careful sympathy in his tone.
"We can finish 'em. We can. This is all I got left now, bringing some kinda justice to those sick bastards after what they did to me, what they did to my husband," she leaned forwards even more, her body tensing up, I could see her from the corner of my eye, getting full of desperation. I sensed Arthur glance at me.
My heart ached. We were finally away from Dutch and I had hoped that it would be the end of Arthur risking his life over grudges. I could handle him going with Charles to break a good man out of prison, I wasn't happy about the risk he was putting himself at but I knew he had to do it. But going to kill O'Driscolls? I was so conflicted. Sadie deserved closure over what happened to her husband, but I didn't want to lose Arthur over it. I couldn't stand it if we came this far only to–
"Please, Arthur. I need someone to ride with me. I can't go in there on my own but if I got no one–” Sadie's voice cracked and my eyes flashed up to her. "You're the only one I trust to do this with me and do it right. And I gotta do it, Arthur, I can't just let them get away with it. Please."
I stared at Sadie, feeling her pain emanating from her in waves, it made the hairs on my arms stand up and bile rise in my throat. My eyes tingled as tears threatened to form there, and Arthur looked at me again. Then Sadie did. Suddenly, I found, it was my choice, without even saying a word.
I nervously toyed with the locket around my neck, and saw Arthur's eyes momentarily flitter down to it.
"Arthur you–" I began after some time, when it was made clear that they were waiting on my blessing. Mine. Like I had any control over anything. "Sadie's done so much for us," I said monotonously, though it wasn't without feeling, "it's clear she needs this."
"Thank you!" Sadie exhaled, and I rose to my feet.
"I need to sleep," I whispered, then stepped over the log I'd been sitting on and headed for the tent I shared with Arthur. "Goodnight."
I climbed inside and laid down on my bedroll, wrapping myself up in the blanket and curling up on my side. I could hear quiet voices outside the tent, a muffled mix of soft tones from both Sadie and Arthur, none of which I could make out as words. It was only a few minutes before cool air filled the tent as the flap was pulled back, and Arthur climbed in beside me. He shuffled around, getting under his own blanket and scooting up behind me, his hand gingerly resting on my hip.
"Princess," he whispered. I made a small hum of acknowledgement. "Are you okay?"
I nodded my head, and Arthur exhaled, then kissed the shell of my ear.
"Talk to me, please."
"I'm sorry Arthur. I'm trying not to put a leash on you, and trying to give Sadie the opportunity to get justice for her husband. All the while I'm worrying any one of these jobs people have you doing'll be the one that kills you. Right when we're finally doing what we've been waiting for," I whispered. Arthur's hand gently drifted up and down my side, his lips still at my ear giving me little pecks.
"I could try to reassure you, but it won't help, will it?" He said softly, sadly. I shook my head. "What do you want me to do instead?"
"Nothing. I don't want you to do anything, Arthur. I can't ask you not to do all these things. That's why I came in here to sleep, cause I know anything I say ain't gonna do any good."
"Are you angry with me?"
"No, I'm not," I breathed, then rolled over to face him. "I'm not mad, I'm worried. And I'll be worried until we're away from here for good. That's it. All I need from you is just to hold me right now, so I can enjoy the time I have with you," I told him, and kissed his chin. He wrapped his arms around me and rested his chin on my head.
"Just a couple more jobs, princess, then it's over. I promise," he told me.
"Please keep your word," I whispered, closing my eyes and nestling my face into his collar.
"I will. I'm under nobody's thumb no more, I do what I want. These things, they're just… they're things I gotta do for my friends. I know you understand that, right?"
"I do. It's why I'm not stopping you."
"I'm real lucky I have you. And that you're like this. You're a good woman," he told me and I chuckled, shaking my head a little.
"You don't have to flatter me, Arthur."
"I ain't flattering. I'm thanking you. Thank you," he said, pressed his lips momentarily to the crown of my head. "I love you."
"I love you too," I replied.
After a few moments of silence, Arthur spoke again. "Can I ask you something? Or shall I let you sleep?"
"Now I'm curious about the question. Go on," I answered.
"Where'd you get that locket from? The one you been wearing since I got back. Looks familiar."
The question surprised me. It wasn't anything like what I was expecting, and I laughed. Then stopped when I considered my answer. My heart was suddenly pounding because I knew I had to address how I had felt while he was away in Guarma.
"It was Susan's," I told him. "She gave it to me."
"That'll be why it's familiar," he mused.
"It has a photograph of you inside it," I added. He was quiet for a moment.
"It does?" He questioned, tone going up a note.
I hummed my confirmation. "I… I was real bad for a while when you was gone. Susan wanted to cheer me up. I haven't taken it off since."
"Did it make you feel better?"
"A little. It was nice to have something of you, at least. But it didn't hurt any less, that you were gone."
"It would've been a comfort to have something of you with me while I was away. I thought about you constantly, I wanted to see your face just once… I didn't even have my journal, with my drawings of you. They don't live up to the real thing but they're something, at least," he whispered, squeezing me tight.
"Let me see them," I whispered, kissing his collar bone. He made a small sound, a sort of hum, sort of sigh.
"My drawings?"
I nodded as I moved back a little to look at him. "I've only seen a couple of your drawings of me. How many have you done?"
"More than you've seen," he chuckled sheepishly, then rolled onto his back, staring up at the top of the tent. I shifted onto my elbow and gazed down at him.
"May I see?" I questioned insistently, his grin widened. He was embarrassed, it was clear. "It's just me," I whispered, stroking my hand over his chest.
"Just you? That's the problem."
"Problem?"
"I'm worried I'll embarrass you."
"Why would I be embarrassed?" I laughed. Arthur sighed and met my eyes.
"Get my journal," he acquiesced. I giggled and sat up, reaching for his satchel that sat by his feet. I retrieved the journal and handed it to him, but he nodded towards me, urging me to keep it. "Take a look, princess."

part 5 here!
You woke slowly, uncomfortably warm and… sticky?
As reality came into focus you realized the stickiness was sweat from being plastered to Geralt's bare chest as you slept. You wriggled a little, loosening his hold on your hips so you could scoot back and see his face. He was still fast asleep, hair sticking to his stubble and mouth slightly open. He looked so much more innocent, almost juvenile when he slept. It made you want to protect him, as ridiculous as it sounded.
Your hand reached up on its own to brush the strands of hair away from his face. When he didn't stir you trailed your first two fingers down his jawline, gently dragging the backs of your knuckles up over his cheekbones. You knew he could wake up at any moment, and it would be uncomfortable to explain why you were staring at him like he alone breathed life into you every day, but you continued tracing the peaks and contours of his face.
If you let yourself think about it, he technically did. He got you up every morning, did anything you asked to help you, and everything you didn't have the stones to ask. This man made space for you like no one ever had and accepted the mess you brought with you, going so far as to help you sweep it into a manageable pile.
You swallowed back the lump forming in your throat as you realized just how much of a mess you'd made for yourself this time. You'd fallen in love and set yourself up for nothing but pain.
The snow would melt, you two would join Jaskier on the other side of the pass, things would go back as they were, and you would fall asleep alone.
You took a slow deep breath in and savored the peace for the last couple of moments you could before your heart would burst. Gently lifting Geralt's arm, you rolled up to sitting as slowly as possible, watching him the whole time. When he still didn't wake, you snatched up your clothes and tiptoed to the bathroom.
He was still asleep after a towel bath and meticulously braiding your hair, softly snoring now. You couldn't help but feel a little proud of yourself for tiring him out so thoroughly.
Sitting down next to him you squeezed his shoulder, "Geralt. Hey, wake up."
He grumbled something about it being early and patted the bed where he thought you were supposed to be before his eyes snapped open.
"There he is." You cooed, reluctantly pulling your hand away.
He squinted and furrowed his brow against the morning sun, pushing himself up on one elbow, "You're up. And dressed."
Now, you knew you were manufacturing the disappointment in his words, but it still hit you just as hard. You sprang to your feet, kicking the contents of your bag back toward the corner with a little more vigor than necessary, "Woke up hungry. C'mon, get up."
"Alright, alright." He grumbled, rolling over and reaching for his neatly packed bag.
Breakfast was uncomfortable, to say the least.
Geralt didn't lean his knee against yours and you weren't sure if you missed it or were relieved he spared you the adrenaline rush. Though when he brushed against your arm reaching for the salt and you nearly jumped out of your skin. The neighbors sat across the table from you and one of them winked at you, almost making you choke on your oats. As soon as Geralt was done with breakfast you cleared both your plates and made a beeline for the door.
You lead the way out to the barn, excited to see the caverns in the snow your fight had left the week before were still uncovered by fresh snow. You fumbled with the latch, not entirely paying attention, so Geralt reached over your shoulder and flicked it open himself. He was so close you felt his breath on your neck and the heat coming off of his chest. Everything in you wanted to lean back into him, but that might be breaking a rule and these rules were becoming ever more nuanced.
You went about your usual business feeding and examining the horses and were about to leave, but Beau looked so sad and bored. Poor guy hadn't gotten more than a walk up and down the breezeway in a month and you could see the pent up energy in his eyes. You sighed and grabbed hold of his mane, swinging up onto his back and laying back over his haunches while he ate. This felt like a good place to slow down and examine your options with this whole "friends" business.
"Y/N?"
Or it would have been.
"Stall." You answered, not sitting up even when you heard him slide the door open.
"What're you doing up there?" Geralt's voice had that same confusing, unidentifiable tone he'd used when he'd left you in the bath.
"He looked so lonely. You don't just spend time with Roach?" You spared him a glance, noting how casually he leaned against the door, arms crossed so that his collar slipped down to show the marks from your nails digging into his skin.
He shrugged, "She gets tired of me."
Beau walked across the stall to sniff Geralt’s pockets and nudge his hand when he smelled what he was after. You shifted to stay balanced on his back, absolutely no intention of coming down any time soon.
The silence between you that crept on and on was in no way comfortable. You fidgeted while Geralt pet Beau, giving him a treat here and there when he smiled for him. Normally you’d be amused, now you were just angry at yourself.
You swung a leg over Beau’s withers, spinning to sit sideways facing Geralt, “You’re rather quiet.”
“I’m always quiet.”
You shook your head, frantically searching for the words you needed, testing the waters,“I ah… I had a good time last night.”
He quickly glanced at you before focusing back on Beau trying to eat his gloves, “Mhmm... Haven’t slept that well in months.”
There was a beat where you debated leaving it there, but you were never one to quit while you were ahead, “This doesn’t have to be weird, does it? I don’t want things getting tense.”
Geralt finally locked eyes with you, searching your face for something, “No… if you’re uncomfortable-”
“Which I’m not.” You interrupted.
He tilted his head, a softness taking over his face that you rarely saw, “You’re my best friend. As long as you’re okay with it, I am too. It’s just sex, after all.”
You nodded, “Just sex. Yeah. We- heh, we didn't even kiss...”
“Exactly. What are friends for?” Geralt playfully swatted at your boot, giving you a grin.
What are friends for…
You plastered a smile on your face, changing the subject before the emotions bubbling in your chest boiled over, “Jaskier is gonna kill you when I tell him you said I’m your best friend.”
He moved to stand in front of you, crossing his forearms and resting them on your knees. His touch was calming, grounding you back into reality as he usually did.
He squinted up at you, “That’s if you tell him.”
You patted his hand, “Oh, I’m definitely telling him.” you teased.
He gripped your wrist and quickly spun to face away from you, pulling you forward and off Beau's back. You squeaked and gripped onto his shoulders when you landed on him. He laughed, giving a little jump to get you higher on his hips and get a hold of your knees. A giggle slipped from your lips, partly due to surprise, but partly because his grip on your knees tickled.
"I'll tell him it was you who dropped the sword on his lute strings." Geralt made his threat halfheartedly, carrying you out of the barn only to have you steer him back to grab your gloves that you'd left on the hay. You wrapped your arms around his shoulders, taking your opportunity to hold him close to you as possible, resting your chin on his shoulder. His warmth and his scent lulled you into a state of content as he took his time meandering back to the inn. Just before he reached the door you noticed a fresh snowflake on your elbow.
"Motherfucker." You shouted, "It's snowing again."
"Shit! Y/N, you're right in my ear." He tried to turn to look at you but you tucked your head against his neck, hiding almost like a child.
"Sorry. I forgot…" you whispered, more out of embarrassment than anything.
He hummed, the vibrations permeating your whole body from where you were perched as he yanked the door open and stomped inside. You wiggled, communicating you could once again walk just like a toddler, but he just hoisted you up higher and trudged up the stairs. You bit your lip, hiding a smile on the basic principle of not wanting to feel it, not necessarily because anyone important could see you.
When you reached your room Geralt rather unceremoniously collapsed onto the bed, sending the two of you bouncing for a bit before he came to rest with his shoulders on your hips.
"Tired?" You asked, fighting the urge to rake your fingers through his hair.
"Exhausted." He made no effort to get up but rested his hands underneath the outsides of your knees.
You sighed in agreement and rested your hands on his shoulders, "Post breakfast nap sounds nice."
I can handle this. I know the boundaries. Just don't kiss him. That should be easy enough ...

~~~~~~~
Learning About Y/n
1. She was created as a 12 year old first, til I decided to age her down into a child since I wanted to create a child reader book and her personality was perfect for it
2. Foxy was previously a polar bear
3. Y/n's nen was gonna be an enhancer, but I changed it for plot reasons (hehe)
4. She was gonna appear in a different one of my HXH books (Sweet Bunny) instead of Teki
5. She doesn't actually have a real name lol, I just call her Little Fox or Lil Sis
6. For people who are curious, Y/n is bisexual- (this is a joke BTW she isn't old enough to date and plus all of her lovers would be ded)
7. Her previous backstory was that Hisoka had killed her family and took her because of her nen, but this changed and I'm not gonna reveal the story behind Y/n...yet.
8. Y/n is actually planned to adopted 2-3 more animals in her journey, but has a possibility of changing (hint- one of these animals have been mentioned above)
9. This is already known, but the story was gonna end on the chapter 'Bai Bai!' and plus a chapter that goes into the future when Y/n is older.
10. Y/n was Kalluto's first friend :3
~~
Headpat section! (Author-Chan/Skypie is on break! Y/n is taking over!)
Y/n was standing on stage with a microphone in hand, Mr Oinks and Foxy were with her on stage as she held flash cards.
"Hewo everyone!" Y/n smiled at the audience. "I'm here as Sky-Neesan is on her break! She hopes you like the book. And that she can provide you with a chapter once a week and she is sowwy if she can't do that." Y/n was saying, without looking at the flashcards that she was handed, so what she is saying could be true or not.
"Mr Oinks and Foxy and Me wanna say that you need a headpat, give everyone a headpat. The first person you see after this, give dem a headpat! Bai Bai!"
Y/n was about to leave stage when a paper plane hit her head, Y/n picked it up and read it.
"Oh, well Skypie is going to bed, We might as well start with a small mini spoiler for season 2 of Onii-chan!"
Sneak peak 1
Y/n hummed to herself as she skipped over to the mini arena that was on the bottom floor of Heaven's Arena. She stood in the middle with some other child, who was trying to reach the top, He had black hair, and his hair was covering one of his eyes that were bright vibrate Green, in the back it seemed to be a few people were cheering on him, teenagers, guessing they forced the Child to do this.
The kid stood ready, shaking slightly from fear, but he still seemed confident in beating her, he came close to the female. As he tried to kick the small 5 year old down, She stepped out the way and instantly was behind the kid, she used her finger and flicked the back of his head.
"Flick!" She said softly to the male as he was flicked across the room and into the wall, making a dent into it. The audience of participants either pitied the boy or stared shocked at the female, who was thinking to herself. 'I didn't even use my nen that much...aww man I wanted to show off to Hiso-chan and get headpats...'
"Oh Y/n, you were here before, last year correct?" The small girl looked at the referee and nodded her head slightly, she went here with Illumi and Hisoka before.
"You should head up to the 200th floor, good luck kid."
"Thank you Mr Referee!"
~~~~
Y/n ended the clip and smiled at the audience. "Hope you liked it! Skypie is waking up now! Hope you will enjoy season 2, and remember to give everyone headpats...ALSO Bombfetti has the properties of Bombs and Confetti! Bai Bai!" Y/n ran off stage with Foxy and Mr Oinks following her.
(Skypie has returned from her sleep and will continue writing)
Scenarios
Y/n sat in her room, she had been going on her own mini adventure for a few days.
She managed to get a treasure chest from finding it in an abandoned cave on the beach. She started to head out when She was starting to be pulled away.
She tried to stop it, using Gyo she noticed the familar Pink aura that was attached to her back
"Hello Y/n~" A familiar voice made Y/n look up and smile
"Hai Onii-Chan!"
---
Y/n was standing with Hisoka, Gon and Killua as they were all outside.
It started to rain. Y/n-Chan shivered and tried using her hand as an umbrella, since Fox didn't like getting wet and would be mad at her for the next week
As she tried to stop the rain with her Hand, Gon picked her up and used his Jacket to cover their heads so they wouldn't get wet
"Thank you OniiChan!" She smiles at Gon
"Oi! What about me Gon!" Killua yelled at him
~~~~
Sneak peak to season 2
Y/n was watching Hisoka's fight, as she was cheering on him, she soon found herself bored at the scene.
She decided to go and grab some food so she got out of the stadium quickly, with Mr Oinks following her, and Foxy in her arms, she made it out into the hallway.
She went to the elevator and reached the bottom floor, grabbing a box of Chocolate robots.
She hummed as she noticed on the TV the match was playing and watched it from there.
As Hisoka's match ended, she ran to go and see him
"Hiso-Oniisan! You were cool!" Y/n cheered on her older brother as he patted her head as a thank you.
"Let's go back to your room~ I have now 7 wins and 1 lose~"
"I'm in the lead Hiso-Oniisan! I have 9 wins and 0 loses! Hehe!" She stuck her tongue out at him, giggling.
"Well Y/n~ How about we have a friendly sparing and see who wins~"
Hope you enjoyed! Hope you will Enjoy the next chapter (AKA chapter 16)
Bakugou, Midoriya, and you were best friends since you guys were pretty much babies. Mostly you and Bakugou. Back then you always had such a beautiful sparkle in your eyes. At least you did. By the time middle school came around you, Bakugou, and Midoriya didn’t go to the same school. You left them without warning. At that time your parents had died and you had to move with your aunt and uncle who lived in America. With them, you suffered a lot of physical abuse, mental abuse, and emotional abuse. You had become what people wanted to be when you were in your school. Because of your parent’s death, leaving your best friends behind, the abuse, and the bullying at school that once beautiful sparkle had completely faded. You were empty and hid your emotions unless you were alone. About 3 and a half years later your aunt said that you guys were going back to Japan so you could enroll in UA. You Didn’t know Bakugou and Midoriya were there because you never were allowed to see the news so you didn’t see anything that happened to the school. When you heard your aunt say moving back to japan you were happy for the first time in years. You gave her a hug which she returned with a small not caring pat on your head. When you moved back and got a house you asked when you were gonna go to U.A. She told you you needed to take an exam first and then you would see if you got in or not. She also told you not to unpack your things in case you did get in because they had dorms. After taking the exam a couple of days later you got a letter saying that you had passed. You were excited,  they had sent you the uniform and said you were in the hero course in class 1-A. This brought a small smile to your face. You started the next day so you set an alarm to wake you up at 6:00 am.
   The next morning when it when off you got up took a shower brushed your teeth and put on the uniform. Your aunt and uncle were passed out on the couches with bottles of beer on the coffee table. You looked at them and shook your head. Then you just walked out of the house. On your way, you planned that after school you would try to find your two friends. When you were at the school gate all you could do was stare. Before you could take a step in someone called out to you. “Hey, you’re the new student right. the one with the vocal quirk.” He asked. You turned around to face him, It was the pro hero eraser head. “Yes I am,” you said in a monotone voice. “Alright, I’m your teacher fallow me your already late,” he said starting to walk again. “So are you,” you said walking beside him. “ hm I like you kid,” he said with a small smirk on his face. When you two were in front of the door he told you to wait outside until he called you in. You nodded. “Ok class, today we have a new student today I expect you to treat her equally.Understood.” He said looking at the class then looking at Bakugou. He scoffed. “Alright come in,” he said calling you in. You stepped inside with your head down. You were holding your school bag in front of your skirt with both hands, your long snow-white that had some black strands in it bangs covering your eyes. Bakugou didn’t need to see your eyes, he knew it was you. He stood up from his desk. You then looked up at the ash blond and your eyes widened when you saw him. You stopped dead in your tracks. “K-Katsu”  you mumbled his nickname you gave him when you were kids. You dropped your bag letting it hit the floor with a thud. He nodded. You could feel the tears rolling down your cheeks. You ran up to him and buried your face in his shirt holding on to it as if your life depended on it. He was holding you in his arms. When you let go and looked up at him he had tears in his eyes. “I’m not the only one here dumbass,” He said pointing at Midoriya with his thumb. You looked over behind him. Your eyes widened again when you saw your other friends crying looking at you. You let go of Bakugou and walked to Midoriya and gave him a big hug the same you gave Bakugou. You could hear him crying as he wrapped his arms around you. When you let go Aizawa spoke up. “You guys know each other?” he asked. You nodded and said “We were childhood friends before I moved to America.” you said wiping the tears off your face. “ AMERICA” Katsuki and Midoriya yelled at the same time. “Oh yeah, that day I left my aunt just sorta threw me in the care and we just left so I didn’t get to tell you guys sorry about that.” You said rubbing the back of your neck sheepishly. “Oh Wait I know you, your that girl Bakugou was telling us about awhile ago,” he said in an excited tone. You looked at the spiky red-haired boy who looked like he had shark teeth. “Oh yeah, and he showed us a picture of you when you were in grade school.” Another student with yellow-blond hair spoke up. Bakugou glared at them. Then two other students spoke up
“Oh yeah, I remember that.” A girl that was completely pink said. “Wow Bakugou you were right she is beautiful Bakubro.” A guy with black hair said. You blushed at that last one. “ Oh shut it soy sauce face you two pinky same for you dunce face and shitty hair.” You laughed at the nicknames he had called them. The red-haired boy stood up and walked to you. He examined you. Then he looked you in the eyes. “Hmm, I’m Kirishima that’s kaminari, mina, and sero.” He said giving you a toothy grin. You smiled. “Alright, class I’m gonna take a nap, get to know her I don’t care,” Aizawa said zipping himself into a yellow sleeping bag. “Hey(Y/N) I wanna introduce you to some people,” Izuku said pulling your arm. You nodded. You ended up in front of a boy who had half of his hair red and the other half white.   He looked up at you and introduced himself and then a girl with short brown hair came up with a blue-haired boy behind her. They introduced themselves and you started talking to them. After talking to them for a little while it was time for lunch. You said goodbye to them and walked to Bakugou and asked if you could eat lunch with him and his friends. When you sat down with the same food that Katsuki had his friends were shocked. “Ok I’m gonna point it out now, That stuff is spicy are you really gonna eat that,” mina said staring at you and Katsuki. You nodded. “Wait, remember the spice challenge that we did in grade school,” Katsuki asked. “OHH yeah I remember,” you said exited “You wanna do it,” he asked with a grin on his face. “Hell yeah,” you said with the same grin on your face. Bakugou called Izuku over to tell him what was gonna happen. Izuku was happy because he hadn’t seen this challenge since grade school. After eating just two bowls and some cheering for you others for Katsuki, you guys had managed to catch the attention of the whole cafeteria they were cheering for you two. You guys had eating more than 9 bowls. Bakugou was trying not to quit but he had forgotten how fast you ate, how much you could eat, and how much spice you could handle. He hated doing this but he gave up. As soon as he said that you swallowed the last bit of the 11th bowl you two were on. “Ohh thank god,” you said throwing the bowl on the stack you two had made. People were handing each other money and cheering. When you looked at the ones sitting in front of you they looked amazed. Then Kirishima handed kaminari and mina both 20 yen each. Bakugou was panting sticking out his tongue. Your face was stained with orange from the chilly. You gave him a big smile. He smiled back and threw his head back still panting. Mr.Aizawa was in the crowd the whole time recording you two. He put his phone away and tapped you on the shoulder. “Your stuff is in your dorm, Bakugou shows you where the dorms are and mina tell her which one is hers got it.” He said looking at the two. Bakugou just gave him a thumbs up and mina smiled and nodded her head. When you and Katsuki were walking to the dorms you guys were holding on to each other. After sitting for so long and eating spicy food it made you guys dizzy. In all honesty, it made you guys look drunk. When you guys got to the dorms mina walked you to your dorm room. “Thanks, mina,” you said opening the door.
After fixing the dorm the way you wanted you went to your closet to look for some clothes. You wanted a hoodie but a big one all the ones you had fit good. You ran out of your dorm and to Katsukis dorm. You knocked on the door. After hearing the knocking he opened the door. “What do you want shitty hai-oh it’s you what’s up. He asked changing his tone from anger to calmer. “Can I borrow a hoodie Katsu?” you asked him. He had to look down when he was talking to you he was 5’7 as where you were 5’0. Extremely short for A 15-year-old. “Sure shortie,” He said with a grin on his face and moving to let you in. “Thank yo- WAIT, IM NOT SHORT,” you said making your way into his room. “You haven’t grown at all since the 6th grade,” he said opening his closet and stepping back to let you see. “Yes I have, I’ve frown 2 inches thank you very much,” you said going threw the cloths. You saw a bright orange hoodie and took it off its hanger. “ Thanks,” you said as you walked out of his dorm. When you got back to your dorm you pulled out some shorts and set them with the hoodie on your bed. You got into the shower and felt the warm water hit your back. After the shower, you got out, dried your hair, and put the shorts and hoodie on. You had forgotten about the bracelet that you had on. You had made Katsuki and Izuku one in the 2nd grade. You figured you would ask them if they still had them. The whole day you were distracted and you never saw that they did still have them. Before they fit you guys to big that you had to wrap it around twice so it would fit you guys. You looked at yourself in the mirror. The hoodie was so big that it covered your shorts. Your hair was dry and a little puffy from the blow dryer. “Nice,” you said looking at yourself.
   After you left Katsukis room With his hoodie he couldn’t help but wonder was that beautiful sparkle in your gray eyes had gone. He made up his mind that the next time he saw you he would ask you. He left his room and went to the common room. He sat down on the couch scrolling thew social media. “Hey, kacchan” kaminari said walking towards the blond. “The hell do you want dunce face,” he asked annoyance in his voice. “Calm down bakubro we just need to ask you something,” Kirishima said putting his hands up in defense. “What do you want,” Katsuki asked still some irritation in his voice. “Well, Jiro wants to know if you asked her what she wanted to do for the festival,” Kirishima asked. Katsuki’s eyes widened. “Oh shit, no I forgot to ask,” he said putting down his phone. The rest of the class came into the common room. “Well, you need to ask soon its almost time it’s only 3 days away,” Mina said sitting across the couch from Katsuki. “What festival are you talking about,” you asked walking towards them. “Oh, We were just talking about the school festival that the class decided to play a concert for.” Mina chirped. Your eyes lit up “She’s gonna want to sing, she’s probably better than purple hair.” Katsuki was looking at his phone again just because he was trying to hide the blush that was on his face when he saw how his hoodie fit you and that expression made it better. You just giggled. “Yeah maybe,” you said with a shit-eating grin on your face. Katsuki had the same one on his face. “She gets cocky when it comes to singing or playing the guitar,” Katsuki said putting his phone down. “I have an idea, why don’t you and Jiro Have a singing battle” mina said jumping up from the couch. This caught the girl’s attention. “O-oh I don’t thin-” “Sure,” you said cutting Jiro off. You glared at the girl. Katsuki smirked “What I tell you,” he said walking up behind you. “Oh this is gonna be so good” Midoriya added. People were siding with Jiro and you. People were siding with you because Katsuki never complimented someone like that not really that that was a compliment. Mina brought the mike. “Jiro goes first” She gave the mike to her and ran behind you were the rest fo the Baku squad was including midoriya. After Jiro finished her song mina gave you the mike. You, Katsuki, and Midoriya’s smile widened. You lifted the mike up to your lips and started to sing.
“Hush my loves now don’t you lie, Karmas gotta way of making things write. Hush my loves now don’t you lie. I might look sweet but I don’t play nice. I can hear ‘em talking in my sleep~, Got one eye open while I’m listenin’~. They think that they know me got me figured out but they don’t know anything that I’m about~, and when I get the chance I say so swee~tly. Hush my love now don’t you lie, karmas gotta way of making things right.”
The whole class was amazed at how good you were at this. The new you singing had to do something with your quirk but they didn’t know you were this good.
“If you think your words are nice, better close your mouth, shut your lips real tight.
Secrets aren’t safe-keep ‘em to your self to yourself and nobody else. So hush my loves now don’t you lie~I might look sweet but I don’t play nice. I can hear ‘em talking in my sleep. Hush. Even through all there whispering. Yeah, yeah~. They think that they know me got me figured out but they don’t know anything that I’m about~. I should warn them now to stay away.”
   The way you sang was almost seductive and sweet in away. You stopped and smiled at them they were in disbelief Katsuki and midoriya were just smiling behind you. After talking you guys agreed that you and Jiro would both be lead singers. But that the very last song you guys were gonna play would be a solo for you. When you guys decided it was late so you decided to go to sleep.
   The next day when you woke up, you were still in Katsukis hoodie you didn’t want to give it back yet so you took it off and took a shower. When you got back out you dried your hair and put on your uniform then immediately put the hoodie back on. You slipped on your shoes and walked out of the dorm. You could barely see the skirt under it but it was still noticeable. “Oh~ you’re still wearing his hoodie huh (Y/N)” Mina said giving you a smug look. “Y-Yes s-so what” you pouted crossing your arms over your chest. You felt someone grab the hood of it and put it over your head as it fell over your eyes you heard a familiar voice. “Keep it, it looks good on you,” he said bending to the side in front of you to look at your face. You lifted up the hood over your eyes, even the sleeves were way too big. When you saw Katsukis face up close you couldn’t help but blush. He stood straight up pulling the hood off and ruffling up your hair. You were so much shorter than him. “Can someone tell me, Howes, it like up there guys,” you said looking up at Mina, Katsuki, Kirishima, Kaminari, and sero They just laughed as they saw the way you were looking at them. You pulled on Katsuki’s sleeve. You then made grabby hands wanting him to lift you up. He knew what you wanted so that what he did. He bent down as you climbed on his back and on then his shoulders. He got back up slowly not wanting you to lose your grip and fall off. Your eyes lit up when you saw farther than you always did. When he tilted his head up to look at you he couldn’t help the blush that lightly dusted his cheeks. You looked down at him and gave him a big smile. He smiled back, it was a rare genuine smile. Mina was fangirling at how cute the site was. The bys just took pictures with dopey grins on there faces. As soon as they saw Katsuki was turning back they shoved their phones into there pockets. You were having a childish day today, in other words, you were acting like a baby. Bakugou was caring for you half the day but when you noticed that his neck was hearting you started riding on Izuku shoulders, just to give Katsuki a break. When it was lunch you wanted to sit with both boys, not just one so you dragged Todoroki Uraraka Iida and Izuku to the Baku squads table. They welcomed them to sit except Katsuki. He just sat there eating. You sat in the middle of Izuku and Katsuki. “Katsu are you feeling better,” you asked looking up at the ash blond. He nodded “Yay,” you said with the cutest and childish look on your face. He smiled at you. He then looked down at his pocket sticking his hand in there and pulling something out. “H-Here” he stuttered as he pulled out a big cookie wrapped in plastic. The look on your face when you were eating the cookie made Katsuki’s blush, He might as well have been challenging Kirishima’s hair. Of course, the Baku squad caught on including Izuku. Katsuki covered his face and turned away. Mr. Aizawa came into the cafeteria and tapped you on the shoulder causing you to jump a little. “Sorry I didn’t mean to scare you, anyways your aunt and uncle need to talk to you.” He said holding up his phone that was still on a call. The cute look on your face had completely turned into complete horror. You set down the cookie and slowly took the phone. “H-Hello-” you were cut off by your aunts screaming at you you were holding the phone away from your ear. She was yelling at you and asking where you were. You could tell she was drunk. The table that you were sitting at was all shocked including Aizawa. You put the phone to your ear. “A-aunt your d-drunk again” you mumbled. But the table and Aizawa heard you. Your mom was yelling at you again saying she wasn’t and that she was gonna get in the cage when you got home. You had been holding the phone out to avoid your ears getting hurt but the table still heard it. You snapped. “Shut up your drunk you bitch just leave me alone” you yelled into the phone. This caught the attention of people in the cafeteria. Your mom said that your uncle was gonna punish you and he was coming to pick you up. “W-wait no no no I’m sorry please no-no.” You were crying now. Then your uncle’s voice came into the call. “ U-Uncle I-I’m sorry  I won’t yell again I promise, please don’t come to the school.” Your dad was drunk too. He yelled at you saying he wasn’t going to but not tell your aunt to shut up or call her a bitch. You Apologized repetitively. Then he just hung up. The whole table was looking at you worried and some around the table were too.You looked around pulled the hood over your head. And lied on Katsukis lap crying. He just rubbed small circles on your back. You were shaking. “What’s going on at home (Y/N)” Aizawa asked looking worried and a bit mad at the same time. You just shook your head. The rest of the class was surrounding your table, you put your legs on Izukus lap. He didn’t stop you he just put his hand on your leg and rubbed it gently. “Bakugou I want you to take of her for today ok, but I want her back tomorrow we have training then the festival.” Aizawa said looking at Katsuki putting his phone back in his pocket. “Yeah yeah whatever,” he said shrugging Aizawa off focusing on you.He tapped you and said. “Piggyback, alright?” you just nodded in response he got up and so did you he bent down and you climbed on him and raped your arms and legs around him. He stood up straight and started walking as you buried your face in the crook of his neck. He took you to his dorm. He set up a bath for you to relax in.When he undressed you and put you in he was trying to hide the blush on his face.When you were in you asked him not to go.You said you wanted him to come in with you. He knew it meant nothing like that so he agreed and undressed, you had moved so he could get in.As soon as he did you made your way and sat in-between his legs resting your head on his chest. He wrapped his arms around your small body. After a while, he told you to wet your hair. You did as he said when you put your head back on his chest he got the shampoo bottle and put some in his hand and gently started scrubbing your head. He made sure it was gentle but he also made sure it was done right. He then did the same to head. He did everything for you for the rest of the day. He scrubbed your body for you he changed you. Brush your hair. Wich was the hardest because of how long it was.He put you in a black hoodie that his mom bought him that fit even him to big. He asked I you wanted pants, he asked because when you were little and over his house, if you wore something this big you didn’t wear them. That started around the age of 11.You shook your head no.When he was done himself he took you to the common room where he put in one of your favorite movies. Halfway through you fell asleep on his lap.When he was just combing his fingers through your hair until he fell asleep himself. The rest of the class rushed back to the dorms to check on you. When they entered the building they were all relieved and happy. When they saw you and Katsuki on the couch sleeping they all took at least a couple of pictures. Katsuki was the first one to wake up to a bunch of worried faces some watching a different movie some just talking about what happened. Kirishima was the first to notice he was awake. Kirishima gave him a worried and nervous smile. You woke up shortly after that. Katsuki and Kirishima were talking when Kirishima pointed at you. Katsuki looked at you. You blinked a couple of times so your eyes could adjust to the light. When you sat up the hoodie had fallen off your left shoulder. He instantly pulled it back up noticing that Mineta was looking at you. “Katsu what time is it,” you asked rubbing your eyes. “4 pm,” he said looking at his phone.  “Hey she’s awake girls,” mina said calling all the girls over. “You wanna play truth or dare with us and the boys,” she asked you excitement written all over her face. Your eyes lit up at the sound of truth or dare. “Yeah, yeah let’s do it,” you said getting off of the couch. “Can you get Bakugou to say yes too, please.” you nodded and looked at him. “Katsu can you play truth or dare with us please,” you said in your cutest voice looking him dead in the eyes with your puppy-dog eyes. “Gahh fine,” he said leaning his head back not wanting to look at you. When you were all sitting on the couches and on the floor.You were sitting in between Katsukis legs on the floor. His back was against the couch while his legs were stretched out and he had his arms wrapped around you, He buried his face in your neck You were sitting the same way but your legs were crossed and you had your neck to the side giving him more room. Yes, your classmates knew you had basically turned Katsuki into a big softie, at least when he’s around you.But to them for two best friends you two were awfully touchy. Some of them thought you two were already dating. “(Y/N) truth or dare” mina asked. “Hm, dare” you mumbled still pretty tired. “I dare you to put on a sexy maid outfit.” your and Katsuki’s eyes shot open. “I don’t have one though you said visibly nervous. “ don’t worry Yayorozu made one,” she said pointing at Yayorozu who had started making it. You blushed. “F-fine,” you said getting up.Mina and Uraraka got up too to help you. You took the outfit from Yayorozu and walked to your dorm room mina and Uraraka ran out and ran back in with two other ones. “Are you guys doing it with me?” you asked a bit of relief in your voice. They both said yes.When you guys had put them on they told you an Idea they had.As much as you wanted to say no, you knew that they were still gonna make you do it.So you just agreed. When you guys looked at yourselves in the mirror you guys actually looked really good. Uraraka was more of the cute one Mina was more of the hot one, as were you were a mix of both. You took a deep breath in and let it out.When you heard the music start you 3 walked out of the hallway you in front and the others behind you.You had on a “confident” face.You started singing first.
       “Hold up no you didn’t bow, bow. I ain’t the chick to walk behind you around town. Just because you packin’, pacin’, whoop down south, That don’t  mean I’m ever gonna take it lying down, baby “
                                                                                 Mina sang the first verse
       “Oh, I’m a machine when I do it, I’ll be catching fire, gasoline when I do it.
Just ‘cause your packin’, packin’, whoop, down south That doesn’t mean I’m ever gonna take it lying
Down.”
                                                                  Uraraka sang the second verse
   You sat in-between Katsukis legs. You were sitting on yours and holding down the end of the dress on the floor.
   “Baby your the man~ but I got the. I got the power. You make rain but il make it, I’ll make it, I’ll make it shower. You should know I’m the one who’s in control. I’ll let you take the weel.long as you don’t forget~ who got the power.”
                                                                All 3 of you were singing the 3rd verse
                                    You started the last verse you guys were gonna sing.
“My turn, I make this look easy Tick tick boom like gasoline-y Yeah they call me Lamborghini Cause I know just what I'm worth Z-z-zero to hundred B-b-body make' em stutter Start my engine, push the button Cause I'm gon' be coming first Yeah, I'm a machine when I do it I'll be catching fire, gasoline when I do it just ‘cause you're packin', packin', whoop, down south That don't mean I'm ever gonna take it laying down Baby, you're the man But I got the, I got the, I got the power You make rain But I'll make it, I'll make it, I'll make it shower You should know, I'm the one who's in control I'll let you come take the wheel, long as you don't forget Who got the power.”
   You had gone from sweet to seductive really quick. You were doing so many things to him, he didn’t know what to do with his hand’s sp he just had them behind him supporting himself when you had got on top of him sitting on his stomach and had your hands on his chest. When you were in these positions he couldn’t help but look everywhere. The top part of the maid outfit was tight around your chest squishing your boobs up and the shortness of your dress it was barely covering you. He knew his face was really red but he was so distracted by you he didn’t care. Mina and Uraraka weren’t doing this to anybody.o why him. Bye, the time he finished his thought you got off of him. He watched you walk away looking down in embarrassment. When you 3 were completely gone everybody was looking at him. Some like Kaminar sero and Kirishima and some others had nose bleeds that included Izuku. “Bro you are so lucky, you got the hottest one to do all that to you and you didn’t even hold her waist,” Kaminari said wiping the blood from his nose. “S-shut it d-duce” Katsuki stuttered. When you three got back you guys had taken them off and changed back to your previous cloths. You didn't say anything you just jumped on top of  Katsuki, you were clenching his shirt in your fists were hiding your face in his chest. “Sorry katsu” was all you said. He lifted your chin and told you it was ok. Damn, he was hot. After about 3 hours of playing, Yayrozu said she finished dinner. You all got up and walked to the dinner table. You were on Katsuki’s back though. “Oh yeah (Y/N) Aizawa-sense wanted me to tell you that you’ll be fighting the top 3 students in class tomorrow for training,” Izuku said excitedly. “O-Oh, and who are they exactly,” you asked tilting your head. “Kacchan, Todoroki, and Tokoyami didn’t you see the sports festival,” Izuku asked a little confused. You shook your head and told them you weren’t allowed to watch the news or anything for that matter. They were surprised and some looked worried. “So does that mean you don’t know what happened to Bakugou at the training camp,” Kirishima said with a worried look on his face. “Training camp? What’s that,” you asked quirking an eyebrow. The whole room went silent. “What happened?” you asked starting to panic. Iida sighed. “Bakugou was kidnapped by the league of villains and they tried to convince him to join them,” Iida said pushing up his glasses. They didn’t expect you to react the way you did. “Well he made it back not with the villains not hurt and still the same katsu I know, so I’m fine as long as he is. I mean he's the strongest person I know, so I think he would be fine,” you said shrugging your solders and climbing off Katsuki. They gave you some confused looks and some surprised. “Wow I guess you believe in him as much as he believes in himself,” Kirishima said rubbing the back of his neck. You nodded your head vigorously with a bright smile on your face. Katsuki couldn't help the small smile on his face. You pulled the end of his sleeve and when he looked down at you, you turned your head and started walking to the two empty seats next to izuku. He knew you were strong but you basically dragging him now he could barely keep up. You both sat down with the rest of the class. Kaminari and Kirishima were trying out the challenge that you and Katsuki did but not with spicy food. They didn't make it past 3 bowls. You laughed at there attempt. “How can you guys eat so much,” Kaminari said with a hand on his stomach. You and katsuki shrugged. After talking for a while Katsuki said he was going to bed. You all said your goodnights to him and let him go. After 2 hours you all went to your dorms. When your head hit the pillow you completely fell asleep forgetting what had happened with your aunt and uncle.
The next morning you woke up excited that you might beat the top three students in UA. After putting on your uniform and leaving your dorm you saw the rest of the class in the common room. “Hey guys what's up,” you asked walking towards them. “Oh hey, we were waiting for you, Were going to walk to class as, well a class,” mina said excitement all over her face. “Oh ok then” you answered with a warm smile. When you guys walked into the class you were surprised to see Mr. Aizawa there. He was usually the last one there. As soon as you guys were going to walk in Mr. Aizawa told you guys to get out and change into your hero costumes. You all went to the locker rooms and changed into your costumes. Your hero costume had white boots that went up to your caffs, black thigh high stockings with white music notes on the right one, white short shorts with some rips on them, a top that looked like a waistcoat with short sleeves and the top faded from black to white, with a white tie that wasn't fixed properly and was hanging with the not down to your chest, On your right arm you had A glove that went all the way up to your shoulder and cut off on your knuckles and had black music notes on the side of it. You were the last one out on the training grounds because you had to get the bracelets from mei hatsume that she was working on. They helped you a lot because they could see the strongest emotion that one person was feeling so you could pick the right song to sing. When you came out of the doors your eyes lit up at the site of building and ally ways it all looked so real. The class was looking at you some with confusion on why your costume looked more like an outfit for a music festival. The girls looked so happy and excited when they saw you. As for Katsuki, his eyes went to your top. or more importantly, the fact that the waistcoat like tops buttons was down to your chest revealing a lot of cleavage. then he noticed that you didn't have anything under it so when he looked down the waistcoat like the top wasn't covering your sides or a bit of your stomach. HE couldn't help but blush at the sight of you. The shorts fit your curves so well and the top was really snug around you. Your hair matched your outfit so perfectly. He could feel the pink rising to his cheeks when he saw you. Then he saw Mineta walking up to your hands out ready to do something. But before he could Katsuki sent a blast his way warning him. Mineta ran away into a corner. All the girls were complimenting you on your outfit. Then you had noticed that all of there costumes had to something with there quirk, so did yours but you knew a lot about there quirks but they new really nothing about yours. Then you saw Katsuki in his costume. Oh gosh, he was so freaking hot in that. His mussels were so defined and his chest, you couldn't help but notice that the top was so tight you could see his abs through it. Your face was pretty much challenging Kirishima's hair. “Ehem,” Mr. Aizawa said catching all of your attention. “Bakugou, Todoroki, and tokoyami please step forward along with (Y/N)” was all Mr. Aizawa said before telling the rest of the class to follow him. “Mr. Aizawa, don't you think putting the top three students in the school up against such a fragile girl is a little much” Kirishima said walking on the side of Aizawa's sense. They were in the room with all the TV's before he could respond. “Trust me(Y/N) is probably one of the strongest people you’ll ever meet, hell she might be stronger than all might.” He said the last one with his huge smile on his face. “All right before you 4 start, I gave all of you except (Y/N) a tracking device, she has the tracker on her she doesn't knows so don't worry you 3.” Mr.aizawa had muted your earpiece and was only talking to the boys. When you saw them making faces and then saw tokoyami take something out of his pocket and then put it back in. You knew Aizawa was talking to them and not you but you figured there was something you couldn't know but because of what tokoyami did you had an idea. “Alright start you 4″ Aizawa said to all of you.
“Alright guys I'm gonna go over here see ya soon,” you said giving them a smile then skipping away to one of the ally ways. They were shocked at what you just said and did. They all scattered to different areas of the taring ground. You had remembered mina talking to Aizawa before coming up to you and complementing your outfit and shaking you, then you remembered tokoyami pulling some device out if his pocket. You connected the dots and figured you would use it your advantage. you grabbed your solder and felt a weird bump on it.You pulled it off. “So it is a tracker” you muttered under your breath. then you smiled that one cocky smile. You saw one of the security cameras that you were sure they were watching on. You had your head down with a smirk as you help up the tracker. It was small but you could still do something. You opened the tracker with a peace of class you found on the ground, after opening it you changed some wires and did some tinkering on it. Everybody was surprised and confused at what you were doing. You had learned how to do this at your old school in the lab. It was really advanced for a middle school in America but you weren't complaining. Your head turned the tracker into a bomb and a tracker. you could make it go off any time you wanted with the button that turned off the tracker. “She turned the tracker into a bomb but it still works as a tracker,” Aizawa said his smile widening. “Who really she didi that” Kaminary and Kirishima added. Katsuki, tokoyami, and todoroki found each other and were waiting for you to do something. “Where is she” Katsuki said impatiently. “Be patient?” tokoyami said looking around from the roof they were on with dark shadow. They didn't notice you were with them on the roof.How they didn't know was beyond you. You set down the tracker and pushed the button it was gonna go off in 5 seconds. Todoroki looked down at the tracker but before he could say or do anything the tracker went off with a loud boom. you used the bracelet to see how they were felling and when you got the read of powerful you started singing victorious by panic at the disco. A soon as the bomb went off bakugou covered his ears and let himself fall. Todoroki and tokoyami didn't cover their ears instead they were focused on catching themselves. as soon as they got back on the roof ready to fight you were singing and they could fell themselves losing control of there bodies. Then you stopped and you let out a little giggle. “Come here guys,” you said in your nice calming tone. They did as they were told and came closer to you. You took the capture tape and tied it around there ankles and wrists. As soon as you were done you stopped your quirk and they were completely dumbfounded on how you caught them so easily. “Tokoyami and todoroki are out it's just bakugou and (Y/N) left,” Mr.Aizawa said on the mike so everybody on the training ground could hear. “Shit, those dumb asses” Katsuki muttered under his breath. “Hmm now what to do with you two” you questioned tapping your finger to your lip “Oh I know.” you said tapping some buttons on your bracelet. “Why are you guys feeling scared, I'm not gonna do anything THAT bad,” you said rolling your eyes. The reading didn't change. Oh well, theirs no changing what your feeling. You then began to sing tag your it by meline Martinez. After just 1 verse of it, they were under your control. you undid the tape and they just stood there. “Alright you two are going to help me get katsu understood?” you asked.they simply nodded. After about 10 minutes of looking for the blond, he came out of nowhere and jumped on you. “Todoroki Use your Ice” you demanded and he did just that. He froze Katsuki in a block of ice. You noticed he had something in his ears. Then the ice broke and he fell face down on the ground. you laughed. “Oh my gosh, katsu are you ok,” you said in between breaths. He couldn't help but blush at your laugh it was ONE of the cutest things about you along with your hair your body but most of all your eyes. His thoughts were cut off by todoroki and tokoyami picking you up on their solders. “Come on katsu this is no fun if your gonna stay on the ground all day.” you said crossing your legs with that evil smile on your face. Katsuki got up and gave you his own evil smile. “your right, It wouldn't be fun” he said getting ready to fight. The class was interested in how you were getting todoroki and takoyaki to do anything you wanted. When they heard a boom from the TV screen everybody stayed quiet and paid attention. Bakugou was throwing blast after blast but you avoided them all. Unlike before when the class couldn't hear what was going on, now they could after upgrading the camera room. He was throwing blast after blast at you but with every order, you gave the 2 other boys you were able to dodge or fight back. You told tokoyami to use dark shadow and attack Katsuki. After about 20 minutes of fighting, he stopped. “What's wrong katsu,” you said getting off the boy's shoulders. As soon as you did you used the capture tame and tied tokoyami and todoroki up again then you stopped your quirk. The boys came back to reality and as soon as they did they looked like they had seen a ghost. You were felling weak all over but you refused to let that show, not wanting Katsuki to take advantage of that. Katsuki had a grin plastered on his face the whole time you two were fighting, but then again so did you. Then bakugou lifted up his hand to face you. You didn't know what he was doing. Then you saw a small mettle lever thing, and before you could connect the dots you saw his pull it. You saw a huge blast coming toward you. You jumped to the side pulling tokoyami and todoroki with you since you didn't want them to get hurt and because they couldn't move. Bakugou took the time and ran up to you and tied your hands behind your back with the capture tape. You didn't even notice it until after he pulled you up. “L-looks like B-bakugou wins,” Mr. Aizawa said through the mike. After fixing your selves you 3 went to the front part of the training ground where everybody was waiting. Katsuki had you on his back because of how drained you felt. when he put you down you were holding on to him for support. “Ok now you have to tell us all about your quirk ok” mina chirped “Yeah and how you turned the tracker into a bomb.” midoriya added. “Well, my quirk allows me to control somebody's mind and body if I sing a song related to how they feel. So it can be easier and faster I asked mei to make something for me that could help scene it. I'm really surprised it didn't explode because this was the first time I used it, Although depending on how long I use it for the more tired and drained I get.” you said rubbing the bracelet and adjusting it around your wrist. “And as for the bomb I could tell the trackers was a simple one if I could open it with a piece of glass, so after just changing and cutting some wires it was really easy. you can turn anything into a bomb if you know how” you said shrugging your shoulders. “The only reason he beat me is because of that big explosion and because he and Izuku know everything about my quirk.”  you said looking up the blond then looking at Izuku. “I'm not gonna lie that was actually a pretty tough fight you put up.” Katsuki said looking at you still with that grin on his face. You gave him a cheeky smile. “Ok because of the festival you guys have the rest of the day off. They all cheered with big smile smiles on there faces.
Before you guys went on stage you were a bit nervous. “Hey calm down you'll do fine out there.” Katsuki patted your shoulder reassuring you. you nodded then jiro called the both of you to the stage. When you guys were ready you and jiro had the mikes in front of you you took a deep breath. “Do this shit. Were gonna murder all UA students with music!” Katsuki yelled into the mike before setting off an explotion. They all started playing “Thanks for coming out today!” you and jiro both yelled into the mike. You and jiro started singing. You couldn't help but but notice that people were looking at you and you knew it was you,but why. After the performance and your solo you went back stage and hung out there for a wile. You and Katsuki talked about everything you wanted to. Then the night ended and you all went back to the dorms talking and laughing. At dinner it was the same. Then you all went to bed.
One year later you guys weren't known as class 1-A anymore, it was class 2-A now. It was your second year.and the sports festival  was coming up. This was your first one due to the fact that you came mid way through the 1st year. Some had noticed this but after winter break you seemed more quit and distant. Of course this didn't go unnoticed by Katsuki. He never said anything though. The reason you were like this was because when you went home for break you dealt with a lot more abuse that you did before. After the whole thing in the cafeteria last year nobody ever brought it up again. But when you went back home there were 3 men at the house, you didn't know any of them. two of them looked to be in there 50s or 40s and the third looked to be in his 20s maybe. But before you could ask what was going on the men forced you to do THAT with them. you struggled with them, trying to use your quirk but for some reason it wasn't working.It was probably one of their quirks. That went on the whole winter break. you always tried to stop it but after so many attempts you just gave up. So once school was back you were both happy and scared. What if it didn't stop and someone at the school did that to you or what if someone found out and rumors spread. When you went back you were covered in bruises and scars from everything. You looked like a robot that was just there. when people asked if you were ok you just told them you were fine. Then one day after getting a threatening message from someone saying they knew about what was going on and if you didn't do something for them they were going to tell the school. You froze, and then you had an idea.
“Ill just end it”
was what you said to yourself tears rolling down your cheeks.
The next day you didn't pay attention to any of your classes because in a couple of hours that wouldn't matter. After school you didn't go back to the dorms witch made your class mates ask questions wile they were walking. Katsuki was especially worried because you seemed off this year but especially today. When they walked in the common room they saw a note on the coffee table. it read
“Im sorry”
it was in your hand writing. It took Katsuki a little to figure it out but when he did
“SHES GOING TO JUMP, KIRISHAM GET AIZAWA NOW, IM GOING TO THE ROOF. HURRY.”
He yelled running out of the dorms, he could feel the tears rolling down his face but he didn't care he didn't want to lose you. It took kirishima and the class to put it together but when they did kirishima called Aizawa and they all ran as fast as they could to the roof they were all crying. When they got up there they saw bakugou holding on to your wrist dangling from the room they ran up and helped him pull you up. As soon as they did Katsuki gave you hug and then didn’t something he would remember for the rest of his life. He cuffed your face in his hands and just kissed you tears on his face. As soon as he did you saw everything. All the good moments you had spent with him and everybody. you felt the tears roll down your face too. Then you kissed him back. It was a tender gentle kiss. You both parted gasping for air. you raped you arms around his torso crying into his shirt. when he lifted your chin to look at. He saw that beautiful sparkle in your eyes once more. “You have such beautiful eyes (Y/N)” he said looking at you with one of his rare genuine smiles. You gave his a warm smile ad stood on your tippy toes to kiss give him a quick peck on the lips. Then you both heard cheers coming from your class mates. You giggles with a small smile on your face. Then the roof doors slammed open all might and aizawa running through the doors. both with worried looks on there faces. When they saw you were still there they let out a sigh. “You guys would have been, by the time bakugou got here he was barley holding on to her by her wrist!” mina said pouting and walking up to the two heroes and scolded them. After that they told you you had to tell them why you did it in the first place. you all sat down on the ground and you told them everything that had been happening to you the past years but especially winter break. They couldn't believe what they were hearing the whole class was stunned. You noticed that some of them were crying and couldn't help but feel bad. When you were done with your story you were crying. Katsuki picked you up and sat you in between his legs,you were facing him as you cried into his shirt. After that Aizawa called the police and your aunt and uncle were arrested along with the men that that had done that to you.  Then he called Katsukis mom asking if she would be willing to take of you. She agreed immediately after hearing what had happen. Mr.aizawa said you and katsuki could have the rest of the week off witch was 4 day left. After that 2 weeks went by and it was the sports festival. you got second place as bakugou still took 1st and midoriya 3rd. A couple of ears later you and bakugou got married and were both in the top 10. Bakugou was the number 2 hero and you were number 4. Number one hero was Izuku and the number 3 hero was todoroki. Katsuki and midoriya didn't fight as much but sometimes they did. you and todoroki had to calm them down all the time sense you were Katsukis wife and todoroki was midoriyas husband.
“The end kiddo its time for bed”
“Aw come on mom theirs gotta be more than that”
“nope now go to bed your 12 acting like your 5 plus you have school tomorrow.”
“Aw fine”
“night son”
“night mom”
Crusader of Life (Kakyoin x Reader) Chapter 12
After crashing yet another plane, you and the others have to set up camp right where you were. The biggest problem wasn’t how to survive out there, but rather what would happen to the baby. After Kakyoin seems like he’s going insane, he reveals to you two words carved on his arm: BABY STAND.
“Baby... Stand?” You looked at the two words in horror. “Kakyoin, did you carve that into yourself?”
“I mean, it had to have been me,” Kakyoin replied. “It’s not like anybody would have written those words on me just to pull a prank. Enemy Stands are serious matters.”
You backed away a little bit. “Should I tell Mr. Joestar and the others?”
“No! No.” Kakyoin was oddly quick to turn that idea down. “I’m thinking that I’m just going crazy or something.” He gave a small laugh, then looked at you. “But I’ll be sure to keep my sanity. If not for me, then for you.”
You laughed a little to try to lighten the mood, but it didn’t do much. “You’re still super cute when you get protective over me,” you purred. “I’m gonna go eat dinner now. Wanna come?”
“I’ll join soon,” Kakyoin promised, and brushed your hair out of your face before kissing your forehead. “Go eat. You must be starving.”
“Okay,” you mumbled happily, leaving him alone for the second time that night. This time, however, you were even more worried about him. You thought he was truly going insane. A baby that’s already had homicidal thoughts, AND acting on them? Not possible. But you would keep your promise, and not tell anyone about his arm wound.
“So, did you get anything out of him?” Joseph asked.
“He’s just tired,” you lied. “He’ll be fine once he gets some sleep tonight. Anyway, what do we have for dinner?”
“Soup and sandwiches,” Avdol answered.
“Hey, old man,” Jotaro said. “We’ve got lots of soup that you would never get to try elsewhere. Why are you eating canned chicken noodle soup?”
“Because it tastes good!” Joseph answered. “Why try something new if you already know what’s your favorite?”
“He makes a point,” you replied, stuffing your face with pb and j.
“Good grief,” Jotaro sighed, grabbing a bowl of soup.
The five of you were happily munching away at your food, when Kakyoin came running over.
“Did you see that?” he asked, pointing at the baby. “He killed a scorpion! With his own two hands! There’s something fishy about him.”
Everyone looked at the baby in his cradle, and saw him looking at his hands while moving his fingers. Nothing suspicious there.
“Kakyoin,” you said, “I really think you need some rest.”
“No! There’s a scorpion in there somewhere!” Kakyoin started looking all through his covers. “Where is it? Where did you hide it?!”
“That’s enough, Kakyoin!” Joseph exclaimed. He took the baby out of the cradle and started holding it close. “You’re scaring him!”
“But...” Kakyoin stuttered. “But, do you believe me? It really did kill a scorpion!” He turned around to you, bent down to your height, and stroked your hair. “Oh, (Y/N), my precious (Y/N), don’t you believe me?”
You stayed silent.
“No,” Kakyoin’s eyes looked shiny, like his tears were just on the brink of flowing. “No, not you, too! I even showed you the writing on my arm!”
“Writing?” Avdol asked. “What writing?”
“This writing!” Kakyoin pulled his sleeve back to reveal the writing on his arm, just like he had done with you. “I must have done this in my sleep! It shows that the baby’s a Stand user!”
Everyone looked at him, including you, like he had lost his mind.
“Kakyoin, you’ve gone completely insane,” Jotaro said. “You’ve written on your arm with your knife, and asking us to believe what you’ve written.”
“Please, get some sleep,” you begged. “You’re not feeling well, obviously.”
“Fine,” Kakyoin sighed. “If you don’t see the point I’m trying to get across, then I’ll just have to do it with force!” He summoned Hierophant, and had him attack the baby. Before he reached it, however, Polnareff had summoned Chariot and hit the back of his neck, causing Hierophant, and in turn, Kakyoin, to fall to the floor, passed out.
You bent down, flipped Kakyoin around, and started playing with his hair. “He just needs some sleep, I’m sure of it,” you told the others. Although, you knew it was more to reassure yourself than to convince anyone else. “He’s gonna wake up the next morning and feel completely fine.”
“(Y/N),” Avdol put his arm around you. “We might have to kick him off the team if he keeps acting like this. If it’s too much for him to handle, then we might be better off without him.”
You didn’t meet eyes with Avdol. You still had to process what he had just said. The rest of the trip, without Kakyoin? There was no way you could go that long without missing him like crazy. But he was right. It would be cruel to make someone who couldn’t bear the constant Stand attacks suffer even more. Finally, still looking down at the passed out Kakyoin, you nodded. “I understand.”
“Thank you.” Avdol patted you on the back. “We’ll leave some time for you to say any last words. Even if he can’t hear you, it would probably be good to get it off your chest.”
You picked Kakyoin up, as best as you could, and held him close. “I’m sorry,” you whispered. “I’m sorry I don’t believe you. Even if it’s completely insane, I’m sorry I couldn’t defend you. I hope you understand. If you are sent back home, I’ll keep in touch every single day, I promise. I hope this is just you needing sleep, though. I’d hate to lose you.”
You looked back at the others, and nodded. “I think it’s time he went to his sleeping bag.”
“Alright,” Joseph replied. “Polnareff, will you help me carry him? He’s kind of heavy.”
As the two were carrying him away, you had decided to look at the stars. Hey, even if you wouldn’t get to enjoy the company of Kakyoin, you would still have four other friends, right? That’s gotta be something. Sure, none of them will replace the love between you two, but when this was all over, you’d get to see him again. Still, it just wouldn’t be the same.
“Hey,” Jotaro had snuck up on you, making you jump a little bit.
“Oh! It’s just you, Jotaro,” you laughed.
“You’re worried about him, aren’t you?”
“Why wouldn’t I be?” you replied. “I don’t want him to go insane. I don’t even want him to get hurt. I just want him to be okay.”
“Well, Kakyoin’s strong-minded. He’ll get over it sooner than others would.”
“Yeah, I guess you’re right.”
You and Jotaro looked at the stars together, and you laughed a little bit.
“What’s so funny?”
“Before I met you, I had heard from everyone around the school that you were some sort of delinquent. You always got in trouble, whether it was in school or not, you picked fights with people, all sorts of things. I would have never imagined that, out of all the people at the school, you would become one of my closest friends.”
Jotaro grunted a little bit, almost happily. “Yeah, I thought that, too. You’re not annoying, no, but you’re a softie. I usually don’t make friends with people who are super sensitive, like you. Especially if it’s a girl. But you’ve turned out to be a good friend.”
“That means a lot,” you looked over at Jotaro. “Really, it does. Especially coming from you.”
“Yeah, well, don’t get used to it,” Jotaro huffed. “I only came to comfort you because I didn’t want you to cry. It’s annoying when people cry.”
“I’ll take that as a ‘you’re welcome,’” you giggled, getting up from the rock you had been laying on. “Anyway, I’m gonna get some sleep now. You should, too.”
Once you had gotten everything ready, you settled down in your sleeping bag. It wasn’t as comfy as the hotel beds that Joseph had provided for you, but that didn’t matter. It had been a long day, and you were ready to hit the hay. Slowly, your eyes got heavier and heavier...
And then, in an instant, they popped open again. This time, at the carnival from your previous dream. Now you remembered.
“No,” you shook with fear. “No, no, no! Not here again!” From the looks of it, Polnareff was freaking out, too.
“We should have listened to Kakyoin!” Polnareff cried. “He was right!”
“Wait!” You looked at the others. “If we put him to sleep, he should be here! I’ve gotta find him!”
You started running all through the place, looking for every nook and cranny. Although, you didn’t get far before you felt a tug on your shirt. You looked back, but nothing was pulling. Oh no. He had found you.
The shirt you were wearing suddenly turned to metal, and it was too much for you to wear, making you collapse to the ground. Unfortunately, you couldn’t get up, so you were stuck there.
“Lali-Ho!” There was the voice. The terrifying voice. “I told you before, Polnareff, my Stand is invincible! There’s no way to fight against it!”
“What did you do to Kakyoin?”
Death 13 turned to look at you.
“Well? What did you do? Where is he?”
Death 13 cackled. “He hasn’t arrived to this world yet, but I think I should give him a little surprise when he does, don’t you think?” Your shirt turned back to a soft fabric, but he grabbed it before you could run. “You know, if I remember right, aren’t you Kakyoin’s precious little girl?”
Your face went pale, and your eyes widened. “W-w-well, he n-n-never s-says it... l-like... that, but, um, y-y-yeah...”
“Wouldn’t it be devastating if he found you being tortured? And there was nothing he could do about it?”
That didn’t sound good.
“Maybe I’ll give you... special treatment,” he laughed maniacally. “Starting with your back!”
He flipped you around, and pulled your shirt up enough that your back was completely exposed to him. Luckily, he left the front part mostly covered up, but whatever dignity you would lose with flashing the boys down below looking at you (in fear, of course, you were at the enemy’s mercy) would have been nothing compared to the pain of Death 13’s scythe scraping down your back. You let out a piercing screech from the pain, and tears were streaming down your face.
“All done with that,” Death 13 said casually, and threw you onto a pole from a carnival ride. Before you could move, however, ropes came around you and tied you down.
“I’ll deal with you soon enough,” he snickered. “For now, how about you watch all of your friends die, right before your eyes?”
“No,” you trembled. “Please, just let me die quickly.” You knew that scraping on your back was only a taste of what would come. You didn’t even want to think of what could come next.
“Lali-Ho!”
“Lali-Ho,” a familiar voice repeated. On the back of Death 13 was Hierophant Green. Was... was he really here? Kakyoin? All of your questions were answered as soon as Hierophant started strangling Death 13.
He is here! Kakyoin is here! You were too caught up with celebrating that you didn’t even notice the ropes holding you down loosening up. Once you felt your hands and arms feel freedom again, you turned, and there he was, giving you that comforting smile.
“Kakyoin!” You latched onto him like a magnet, shaking in fear. He wasn’t expecting a hug, nor was he expecting you to be so distraught, but he quickly put his arms around you, too.
“It was awful,” you ranted, “just awful. He, he, he, he said he was gonna give me special treatment, and, and, and he carved into m-m-my back, and he, he,”
“Hey, it’s gonna be okay,” Kakyoin whispered. “Death 13 can’t hurt you now. Hierophant’s going to take care of him.”
“Kakyoin!” Polnareff ran over to him. “You’re alive!”
“Kakyoin, I think we all owe you an apology,” Joseph said.
“No, no, this was bound to happen,” Kakyoin reassured him, still holding on to your trembling body. “It couldn’t be helped. Really, if it weren’t for Polnareff, I wouldn’t know that I could fall asleep with my Stand summoned.”
“Oh, really?” Polnareff blushed. “I don’t know, I still feel kind of bad...”
“Now, as for you,” Kakyoin glared at Death 13, “you're lucky that (Y/N) will forget about all of this in the morning, because anybody who intentionally traumatizes anyone else deserves the death sentence. But even though she’ll be fine when she wakes up, your neck will still be broken.”
“Kakyoin, Get Hierophant off Death 13’s back!” Jotaro ordered. “He’s going to try something, I can tell!”
Right on cue, the clouds started moving closer to the baby’s Stand, and formed into a fist of some sorts. That fist grabbed the scythe, and swung at Death 13’s, and Hierophant's, lower half.
“Kakyoin!” everyone yelled as he started falling to the ground.
“Fools!” Death 13 cackled. “My body is completely hollow! Now with your only hope gone, there’s nothing you can do!”
Surprisingly, however, Kakyoin had brushed himself off, and gotten up again. “Just kidding,” he said. “Did you really think that I would be so careless as to leave Hierophant there forever? Take a look.”
As Kakyoin pointed to the enemy, everyone else looked over, and there was Hierophant, turning back into his tentacle form and entering Death’s ear. Slowly but surely, the baby’s Stand started to move his arm closer to his neck, taking his scythe with it, up until the blade was practically meeting up with the head.
“Now, if you don’t want to die right now,” Kakyoin threatened, “how about healing the wound on my arm? Anything can happen in a dream.”
“Y-yes, sir,” Death 13 answered. He quickly took care of it.
“How about healing (Y/N)’s wounds, as well?” Kakyoin asked. “I don’t want there to be any chance that she’ll remember what happened tonight.”
“Right away, sir.” In an instant, the marks on your back had disappeared.
“Alright, now that that’s taken care of, release us from this dream. I don’t trust you, and I know you’ll have another trick up your sleeve if I leave you like this.”
“Of course, sir.” With a wave of his hand, you had gone back to a peaceful sleep, with the memory of the dream all but lost.
Your eyes peeped open from the long slumber. You slowly rose up from your bed, and yawned.
“You’re up early.”
The sound of Kakyoin’s voice immediately put a smile on your face. “Look who’s talking.”
“I went to bed earlier. It might have been by force, but it still counted towards my sleep. You went to bed at the same time as everyone else.”
“I don’t need that much sleep compared to others.” You stretched your body as you regained your senses. There seemed to be something sizzling. You sniffed the air, and it smelled like bacon. Kakyoin must’ve gone through the trouble of cooking breakfast. “Ugh. I had an awful dream last night.”
“Really?”
“Yup. It’s strange, though, because I don’t remember a single thing.”
“That is strange. Kind of like what happened to me.”
“But I feel like it’s a good thing I forgot about it. Like I would be traumatized if I didn’t. And I also feel like it ended on a happy note, although I can’t remember what it was.”
You had been so caught up in your dialogue that you hadn’t even noticed Kakyoin coming to sit beside you. “Well, if someone ever traumatizes you, I’ll make sure they get what they deserve.”
“What if I get it from a dream?”
“Well, that’s your fault isn’t it?”
You giggled a little bit. “What if you accidentally traumatize me?”
“Trust nobody, not even yourself.”
You had to burst out laughing from that, almost waking the others in the process. “Oops,” you whispered, still snorting a bit. Finally, you let out a sigh of relief. “I’m so glad you just needed sleep.”
“What do you mean?”
“Well,” you said, “the boys had decided that if you were still acting like you were last night, we’d have to kick you off the team. I reluctantly agreed. I hoped that it really was just sleepiness getting to you, but I was genuinely afraid you’d have to go. I would miss you.”
“I see,” Kakyoin nodded, then smiled. “Good thing we don’t have to worry about that, right?” He ruffled your hair, and went back to check on the pan in the oven. “Oh! Breakfast is ready. Would you mind waking everyone up?”
“No problem,” you chimed. One by one, you woke everyone up. After some bacon and eggs, and a few gawks from Polnareff at Kakyoin’s sane state, the whole crew was ready to go. After getting the baby to a nearby hospital safe and sound, the six of you rented a boat. Destination: Egypt.
“Well, there’s one more stop we need to make,” Joseph explained.
Destination: a small island off the coast of Egypt.
BMC Miraculous Ladybug AU One-Shot: Watching Over the Guardian
A little one-shot (First-Person Point of View) related to the BMC Miraculous Ladybug AU ( @pika-ace )
((takes place during the Adventure Arc; a few days after this comic )
We entered our hotel room after what felt like HOURS just waiting for Joe to finally get out of the hospital, and we were all SO worried about him, the injuries he had were VERY fatal. Gashes, scratch marks, bruises, and lots of blood pouring out, his life was literally hanging between life and death when me and Jeremy found him. But now he has to deal with having stitches in his body for a while, but before then, Joe needs to heal, FULLY, we can't just let him off the hook once the stitches come off, he needs to heal, regardless on what he says. I look back at Jordan, Jeremy, and Michael, who were helping Joe walk inside; i could hear faint yelps coming from Joe, struggling to keep his legs on the ground. I'm willing to bet that this is his first time going to the hospital, or the very least, having to go through surgery, cause the way he's acting now concerns me, not just the way he handles the aftermath, but also his behavior, i remember when we were walking out of the hospital, Joe tried to act the same as always but.....i noticed his voice was a little shaky. But he tried to brush it off and tried to act calm as always, but i think he's hiding his true feelings on the whole experience, and i know for a fact that you can't just brush off something like that.
Jeremy looked up at him and asked, "Joe? Can you walk by yourself?"
Joe slowly nodded, "Y-Yes....i think i can...."
They let him go and he started to walk on his own, the stumbled a bit, almost had a heart attack when he leaned a bit too far, but he managed to walk normally. I walk up to him and ask with concern, "Are you sure you can keep your balance?" and he simply nodded back at me, "D-Don't worry Eric, i can assure you that i'm fine...."
Jordan spoke up, changing the subject a bit, "Well, we better start hitting the hay pretty soon cause it's getting kinda late." I looked at the clock and it said 10:32, it's indeed late into the night. Jeremy yawned, "Yeah....i'm getting kinda tired...."
I looked around at the group and said, "Okay, since Joe just came out of the hospital, he's sleeping in the other room." Jordan looked at me, "You do realize that it'll get a bit crowded in there?" He said, "I know, that's why you're gonna sleep with the boys." I responded.
Jeremy and Michael look up at Jordan and gave these weird looks, possibly not feeling a bit comfortable having an adult with them. I rolled my eyes and sighed, "Just bare with it for now, we weren't exactly prepared for a fifth guest after all." I looked at Joe, kinda wincing from his pain but still keeping his head high.
"Ugh.....fine. We'll bare it." said Jeremy, sounding kinda annoyed.
Jordan wrapped his arms around the two with a bright smile i always known him to have, "Hey c'mon now! I won't bother ya that much! You'll just have some support if either one of ya has a nightmare!"
Ah Jordan, he always has that upbeat attitude, plus he doesn't mind being with others, as long as they're not mean. And considering Jordan sometimes tosses and turns whenever he sleeps, Michael and Jeremy better be prepared to hang on to their bed sheets.
Jeremy looks at me with concern, "Wait, so you're sleeping with Joe tonight?" I nodded in agreement, "Yes, i am."
"But ain't that-"
"I-I know, but he needs someone to be there for him after everything that happened." i said, confidently.
"You're.....willing to do that for me?" I look and i see Joe looking at me with a surprised look, "Y-You're too kind Eric....you really are."
I smiled back, "I know."
(a few minutes later)
I walk into the bedroom and i see Joe sitting on the bed, and from the looks of it, he probably found a t-shirt that i had in my luggage and hung up his clothes. Still  very surprised that those same clothes that I've seen him wore for almost two years now stayed the same. No stains, no scratches, no wear-outs, nothing. It's just the same pure clothes, makes me wonder if the clothes themselves cannot be destroyed regardless on what happens to it. God, if whatever material made it was mass produced, that would revolutionize clothing as a whole. But i guess even that has to be secret huh? I also noticed something else, he was hugging himself, his head was hanging low, and i noticed he was trying to cover some of the stitches with his hands, was....he scared? I won't be surprised if it was the case, but.....i guess he doesn't know i'm even in the room.
"Joe?"
He jumped and looked at me with shocked eyes, "Uh....E-Eric! You're dressed?" he said, with that same shaky tone i heard him with back at the hospital.
"Yeah." I sat down on the bed and looked at him, "Are you sure you're okay?"
"Y-Yes yes! I am! It's just...." He looks at me, "I.....never had anyone else be right next to me like this....."
I layed down and smiled at him, "Don't worry, it won't be awkward, trust me."
He layed down too, looking right at me as he covered himself with the sheets, "You sure Eric? I don't want to-"
"It'll be fine, trust me."
Joe nods and just closes his eyes, he looks so calm even in his sleep, guess that's how he is. I closed my eyes and fell asleep.....
....And then i woke up just an hour later. I didn't knew why but i this tight feeling just squeezed me awake. I looked around and noticed that someone was wrapping their arms around me. I looked back and saw.....Joe? He was clinging on to me very tightly, his hands were clinging on to my shirt so tightly that he was pulling it in the palm of his hands, his face was buried on my back, and i could hear faint sobbing too. I.....honestly never saw Joe like this at all, he's usually the straight man in any kind of situation, sure i saw him showing some anger from time to time but.....not fear. I never saw Joe look this scared before, and now that i think about it.....he's also shaking as well. That crash landing and the whole surgery must've scared him, a lot. I.....just wanna make sure he's okay....
I whispered loud enough for Joe to hear me, "....Joe? Joe!"
I shook a little, possibly to wake him up, but it didn't. He is definitely in a nightmare of sorts, and whatever he's seeing is scaring him half to death.
I shook again, this time a bit more force was put into it, "Joe!" I shouted quietly.
Suddenly, i felt his hands immediately come off of my chest, that must've woke him up. I turned around and....my god...i feel so bad for Joe....not only have i seen Joe scared, but also.....i haven't seen Joe cry before. His eyes were covered in his tears and his breathing sounded a little raspy.
"Eric....I-I do appologize.....I-I...." He hugged himself again, just like before, "....I....never...show these kinds of emotions to.....anyone...."
I slightly get up and looked at him, "Why? Why try to hide your emotions?"
He looked away for a bit and then he looked at me, "Throughout my life, i am seen as the guardian of the Miraculous, wise and knowledgeable of all that they do. And so i try to keep up that reputation of being that, the wise guardian." He starts to tear up, "B-But.....if they see me showing emotions like.....fear and sorrow....they'll think i'm weak!" He started to cry after he said that.
He scoot up towards him so i would be close, "Hey hey, don't say that! It's okay to show those emotions!"
I brushed my hand on the side of his head, helping him calm down. He looks at me, eyes still covered in tears, "N-No....it's not! It just shows how weak you are! I'm....i'm not weak! I can't...."
"Showing fear and sorrow isn't a weakness Joe!"
He stares at me, honestly this is the first that Joe is actually listening to me like this, but i feel like this is necessary to say.
"It's a part of us, just the same as happiness and anger! We can feel and express those emotions in our own way! Trust me, i know what it feels like to hide all of those emotions from people! Every year, when the day of my son's death comes, i just completely crash down into tears cause he was the best thing to ever come to my life....and it was taken away from me by death's hands!" I started to feel myself tearing up too, but i continued forward regardless, "I never let anyone see me like this, the only person that knew of my loss was Jordan, because he knows what i went through on that day."
I wiped away the tears that were forming in my eyes, "But....when me....and Jeremy found out about our losses when we revealed each other's identity......we just let it all out. All the pain, misery, sorrow, all of those emotions that we had built up for years, and we both had no regrets on doing so. Because when humans are in that situation where all of those emotions are addressed by someone who cares about them, they let those emotions out, express it in anyway they can. And that is something you're avoiding, isn't it?"
Joe nods and i put my hands on his shoulders, staring at his eyes, "I can assure you, it's okay. It's fine that you show your negative emotions to people, they won't think you're weak if they understood what you went through. And i understand why you feel like this."
"Y-You do?"
"I do Joe, i really do." I released my hands from his shoulders and looked at him, "You can express it on me, i won't judge you for anything that you do."
Joe stares at me with his eyes starting to tear up, then he leaps onto me into a tight hug, burying his face on my chest as he sobs loudly. I stare down at him and  sighed, the poor man has been through a lot. Not just for these past few days, but possibly his entire lifetime, he's probably seen people he cares and loves for pass away like dust and yet here he stands today. He needs someone to comfort him, or the very least, teach him that it's okay to express said emotions. And i'm glad i  became one like that. I slowly layed down while keeping Joe close to me, i petted his hair as a slowly fell asleep.
Joe.....i'm so glad that you're still alive with us. We wouldn't know what to do without you.
Crusader of Life: Chapter 12
“Baby… Stand?” You looked at the two words in horror. “Kakyoin, did you carve that into yourself?”
“I mean, it had to have been me,” Kakyoin replied. “It’s not like anybody would have written those words on me just to pull a prank. Enemy Stands are serious matters.”
You backed away a little bit. “Should I tell Mr. Joestar and the others?”
“No! No.” Kakyoin was oddly quick to turn that idea down. “I’m thinking that I’m just going crazy or something.” He gave a small laugh, then looked at you. “But I’ll be sure to keep my sanity. If not for me, then for you.”
You laughed a little to try to lighten the mood, but it didn’t do much. “You’re still super cute when you get protective over me,” you purred. “I’m gonna go eat dinner now. Wanna come?”
“I’ll join soon,” Kakyoin promised, and brushed your hair out of your face before kissing your forehead. “Go eat. You must be starving.”
“Okay,” you mumbled happily, leaving him alone for the second time that night. This time, however, you were even more worried about him. You thought he was truly going insane. A baby that’s already had homicidal thoughts, AND acting on them? Not possible. But you would keep your promise, and not tell anyone about his arm wound.
“So, did you get anything out of him?” Joseph asked.
“He’s just tired,” you lied. “He’ll be fine once he gets some sleep tonight. Anyway, what do we have for dinner?”
“Soup and sandwiches,” Avdol answered.
“Hey, old man,” Jotaro said. “We’ve got lots of soup that you would never get to try elsewhere. Why are you eating canned chicken noodle soup?”
“Because it tastes good!” Joseph answered. “Why try something new if you already know what’s your favorite?”
“He makes a point,” you replied, stuffing your face with pb and j.
“Good grief,” Jotaro sighed, grabbing a bowl of soup.
The five of you were happily munching away at your food, when Kakyoin came running over.
“Did you see that?” he asked, pointing at the baby. “He killed a scorpion! With his own two hands! There’s something fishy about him.”
Everyone looked at the baby in his cradle, and saw him looking at his hands while moving his fingers. Nothing suspicious there.
“Kakyoin,” you said, “I really think you need some rest.”
“No! There’s a scorpion in there somewhere!” Kakyoin started looking all through his covers. “Where is it? Where did you hide it?!”
“That’s enough, Kakyoin!” Joseph exclaimed. He took the baby out of the cradle and started holding it close. “You’re scaring him!”
“But…” Kakyoin stuttered. “But, do you believe me? It really did kill a scorpion!” He turned around to you, bent down to your height, and stroked your hair. “Oh, (Y/N), my precious (Y/N), don’t you believe me?”
You stayed silent.
“No,” Kakyoin’s eyes looked shiny, like his tears were just on the brink of flowing. “No, not you, too! I even showed you the writing on my arm!”
“Writing?” Avdol asked. “What writing?”
“This writing!” Kakyoin pulled his sleeve back to reveal the writing on his arm, just like he had done with you. “I must have done this in my sleep! It shows that the baby’s a Stand user!”
Everyone looked at him, including you, like he had lost his mind.
“Kakyoin, you’ve gone completely insane,” Jotaro said. “You’ve written on your arm with your knife, and asking us to believe what you’ve written.”
“Please, get some sleep,” you begged. “You’re not feeling well, obviously.”
“Fine,” Kakyoin sighed. “If you don’t see the point I’m trying to get across, then I’ll just have to do it with force!” He summoned Hierophant, and had him attack the baby. Before he reached it, however, Polnareff had summoned Chariot and hit the back of his neck, causing Hierophant, and in turn, Kakyoin, to fall to the floor, passed out.
You bent down, flipped Kakyoin around, and started playing with his hair. “He just needs some sleep, I’m sure of it,” you told the others. Although, you knew it was more to reassure yourself than to convince anyone else. “He’s gonna wake up the next morning and feel completely fine.”
“(Y/N),” Avdol put his arm around you. “We might have to kick him off the team if he keeps acting like this. If it’s too much for him to handle, then we might be better off without him.”
You didn’t meet eyes with Avdol. You still had to process what he had just said. The rest of the trip, without Kakyoin? There was no way you could go that long without missing him like crazy. But he was right. It would be cruel to make someone who couldn’t bear the constant Stand attacks suffer even more. Finally, still looking down at the passed out Kakyoin, you nodded. “I understand.”
“Thank you.” Avdol patted you on the back. “We’ll leave some time for you to say any last words. Even if he can’t hear you, it would probably be good to get it off your chest.”
You picked Kakyoin up, as best as you could, and held him close. “I’m sorry,” you whispered. “I’m sorry I don’t believe you. Even if it’s completely insane, I’m sorry I couldn’t defend you. I hope you understand. If you are sent back home, I’ll keep in touch every single day, I promise. I hope this is just you needing sleep, though. I’d hate to lose you.”
You looked back at the others, and nodded. “I think it’s time he went to his sleeping bag.”
“Alright,” Joseph replied. “Polnareff, will you help me carry him? He’s kind of heavy.”
As the two were carrying him away, you had decided to look at the stars. Hey, even if you wouldn’t get to enjoy the company of Kakyoin, you would still have four other friends, right? That’s gotta be something. Sure, none of them will replace the love between you two, but when this was all over, you’d get to see him again. Still, it just wouldn’t be the same.
“Hey,” Jotaro had snuck up on you, making you jump a little bit.
“Oh! It’s just you, Jotaro,” you laughed.
“You’re worried about him, aren’t you?”
“Why wouldn’t I be?” you replied. “I don’t want him to go insane. I don’t even want him to get hurt. I just want him to be okay.”
“Well, Kakyoin’s strong-minded. He’ll get over it sooner than others would.”
“Yeah, I guess you’re right.”
You and Jotaro looked at the stars together, and you laughed a little bit.
“What’s so funny?”
“Before I met you, I had heard from everyone around the school that you were some sort of delinquent. You always got in trouble, whether it was in school or not, you picked fights with people, all sorts of things. I would have never imagined that, out of all the people at the school, you would become one of my closest friends.”
Jotaro grunted a little bit, almost happily. “Yeah, I thought that, too. You’re not annoying, no, but you’re a softie. I usually don’t make friends with people who are super sensitive, like you. Especially if it’s a girl. But you’ve turned out to be a good friend.”
“That means a lot,” you looked over at Jotaro. “Really, it does. Especially coming from you.”
“Yeah, well, don’t get used to it,” Jotaro huffed. “I only came to comfort you because I didn’t want you to cry. It’s annoying when people cry.”
“I’ll take that as a ‘you’re welcome,’” you giggled, getting up from the rock you had been laying on. “Anyway, I’m gonna get some sleep now. You should, too.”
Once you had gotten everything ready, you settled down in your sleeping bag. It wasn’t as comfy as the hotel beds that Joseph had provided for you, but that didn’t matter. It had been a long day, and you were ready to hit the hay. Slowly, your eyes got heavier and heavier…
And then, in an instant, they popped open again. This time, at the carnival from your previous dream. Now you remembered.
“No,” you shook with fear. “No, no, no! Not here again!” From the looks of it, Polnareff was freaking out, too.
“We should have listened to Kakyoin!” Polnareff cried. “He was right!”
“Wait!” You looked at the others. “If we put him to sleep, he should be here! I’ve gotta find him!”
You started running all through the place, looking for every nook and cranny. Although, you didn’t get far before you felt a tug on your shirt. You looked back, but nothing was pulling. Oh no. He had found you.
The shirt you were wearing suddenly turned to metal, and it was too much for you to wear, making you collapse to the ground. Unfortunately, you couldn’t get up, so you were stuck there.
“Lali-Ho!” There was the voice. The terrifying voice. “I told you before, Polnareff, my Stand is invincible! There’s no way to fight against it!”
“What did you do to Kakyoin?”
Death 13 turned to look at you.
“Well? What did you do? Where is he?”
Death 13 cackled. “He hasn’t arrived to this world yet, but I think I should give him a little surprise when he does, don’t you think?” Your shirt turned back to a soft fabric, but he grabbed it before you could run. “You know, if I remember right, aren’t you Kakyoin’s precious little girl?”
Your face went pale, and your eyes widened. “W-w-well, he n-n-never s-says it… l-like… that, but, um, y-y-yeah…”
“Wouldn’t it be devastating if he found you being tortured? And there was nothing he could do about it?”
That didn’t sound good.
“Maybe I’ll give you… special treatment,” he laughed maniacally. “Starting with your back!”
He flipped you around, and pulled your shirt up enough that your back was completely exposed to him. Luckily, he left the front part mostly covered up, but whatever dignity you would lose with flashing the boys down below looking at you (in fear, of course, you were at the enemy’s mercy) would have been nothing compared to the pain of Death 13’s scythe scraping down your back. You let out a piercing screech from the pain, and tears were streaming down your face.
“All done with that,” Death 13 said casually, and threw you onto a pole from a carnival ride. Before you could move, however, ropes came around you and tied you down.
“I’ll deal with you soon enough,” he snickered. “For now, how about you watch all of your friends die, right before your eyes?”
“No,” you trembled. “Please, just let me die quickly.” You knew that scraping on your back was only a taste of what would come. You didn’t even want to think of what could come next.
“Lali-Ho!”
“Lali-Ho,” a familiar voice repeated. On the back of Death 13 was Hierophant Green. Was… was he really here? Kakyoin? All of your questions were answered as soon as Hierophant started strangling Death 13.
He is here! Kakyoin is here! You were too caught up with celebrating that you didn’t even notice the ropes holding you down loosening up. Once you felt your hands and arms feel freedom again, you turned, and there he was, giving you that comforting smile.
“Kakyoin!” You latched onto him like a magnet, shaking in fear. He wasn’t expecting a hug, nor was he expecting you to be so distraught, but he quickly put his arms around you, too.
“It was awful,” you ranted, “just awful. He, he, he, he said he was gonna give me special treatment, and, and, and he carved into m-m-my back, and he, he,”
“Hey, it’s gonna be okay,” Kakyoin whispered. “Death 13 can’t hurt you now. Hierophant’s going to take care of him.”
“Kakyoin!” Polnareff ran over to him. “You’re alive!”
“Kakyoin, I think we all owe you an apology,” Joseph said.
“No, no, this was bound to happen,” Kakyoin reassured him, still holding on to your trembling body. “It couldn’t be helped. Really, if it weren’t for Polnareff, I wouldn’t know that I could fall asleep with my Stand summoned.”
“Oh, really?” Polnareff blushed. “I don’t know, I still feel kind of bad…”
“Now, as for you,” Kakyoin glared at Death 13, “you’re lucky that (Y/N) will forget about all of this in the morning, because anybody who intentionally traumatizes anyone else deserves the death sentence. But even though she’ll be fine when she wakes up, your neck will still be broken.”
“Kakyoin, Get Hierophant off Death 13’s back!” Jotaro ordered. “He’s going to try something, I can tell!”
Right on cue, the clouds started moving closer to the baby’s Stand, and formed into a fist of some sorts. That fist grabbed the scythe, and swung at Death 13’s, and Hierophant’s, lower half.
“Kakyoin!” everyone yelled as he started falling to the ground.
“Fools!” Death 13 cackled. “My body is completely hollow! Now with your only hope gone, there’s nothing you can do!”
Surprisingly, however, Kakyoin had brushed himself off, and gotten up again. “Just kidding,” he said. “Did you really think that I would be so careless as to leave Hierophant there forever? Take a look.”
As Kakyoin pointed to the enemy, everyone else looked over, and there was Hierophant, turning back into his tentacle form and entering Death’s ear. Slowly but surely, the baby’s Stand started to move his arm closer to his neck, taking his scythe with it, up until the blade was practically meeting up with the head.
“Now, if you don’t want to die right now,” Kakyoin threatened, “how about healing the wound on my arm? Anything can happen in a dream.”
“Y-yes, sir,” Death 13 answered. He quickly took care of it.
“How about healing (Y/N)’s wounds, as well?” Kakyoin asked. “I don’t want there to be any chance that she’ll remember what happened tonight.”
“Right away, sir.” In an instant, the marks on your back had disappeared.
“Alright, now that that’s taken care of, release us from this dream. I don’t trust you, and I know you’ll have another trick up your sleeve if I leave you like this.”
“Of course, sir.” With a wave of his hand, you had gone back to a peaceful sleep, with the memory of the dream all but lost.
Your eyes peeped open from the long slumber. You slowly rose up from your bed, and yawned.
“You’re up early.”
The sound of Kakyoin’s voice immediately put a smile on your face. “Look who’s talking.”
“I went to bed earlier. It might have been by force, but it still counted towards my sleep. You went to bed at the same time as everyone else.”
“I don’t need that much sleep compared to others.” You stretched your body as you regained your senses. There seemed to be something sizzling. You sniffed the air, and it smelled like bacon. Kakyoin must’ve gone through the trouble of cooking breakfast. “Ugh. I had an awful dream last night.”
“Really?”
“Yup. It’s strange, though, because I don’t remember a single thing.”
“That is strange. Kind of like what happened to me.”
“But I feel like it’s a good thing I forgot about it. Like I would be traumatized if I didn’t. And I also feel like it ended on a happy note, although I can’t remember what it was.”
You had been so caught up in your dialogue that you hadn’t even noticed Kakyoin coming to sit beside you. “Well, if someone ever traumatizes you, I’ll make sure they get what they deserve.”
“What if I get it from a dream?”
“Well, that’s your fault isn’t it?”
You giggled a little bit. “What if you accidentally traumatize me?”
“Trust nobody, not even yourself.”
You had to burst out laughing from that, almost waking the others in the process. “Oops,” you whispered, still snorting a bit. Finally, you let out a sigh of relief. “I’m so glad you just needed sleep.”
“What do you mean?”
“Well,” you said, “the boys had decided that if you were still acting like you were last night, we’d have to kick you off the team. I reluctantly agreed. I hoped that it really was just sleepiness getting to you, but I was genuinely afraid you’d have to go. I would miss you.”
“I see,” Kakyoin nodded, then smiled. “Good thing we don’t have to worry about that, right?” He ruffled your hair, and went back to check on the pan in the oven. “Oh! Breakfast is ready. Would you mind waking everyone up?”
“No problem,” you chimed. One by one, you woke everyone up. After some bacon and eggs, and a few gawks from Polnareff at Kakyoin’s sane state, the whole crew was ready to go. After getting the baby to a nearby hospital safe and sound, the six of you rented a boat. Destination: Egypt.
“Well, there’s one more stop we need to make,” Joseph explained.
Destination: a small island off the coast of Egypt.
“Is he really mine?”
Sam’s voice seemed to echo in your head. Every part of you wanted to shut the door and run to your room. Sam was strong enough to keep that door open, you knew that. But you knew that if you shut that door, he would allow it and walk away.
If he were to walk away just the questions and thoughts would consume him alone, always questioning why you didn’t answer and shut the door. But you also had the option to deny everything. Negative thoughts flashed through your mind of how Sam would react.
Resisting everything in your mind about shutting the door, you decided to let him in.
Gulping thickly you stood aside.
Sam looked relieved that you were allowing him in. He looked back to Dean in the car, “Just go to the motel without me… I’ll call if I need a ride.”
Dean nodded and backed out of your driveway again, leaving you two with the door open. Sam awkwardly stepped in, his legs still shaking underneath him. His hazel eyes bore into yours and you could see the longing for answers within them.
“Is he mine.”
Had you not been looking at him you probably would’ve missed it. His voice was so quiet and it was quivering. You had to gulp and push past the lump in your throat. You opened your mouth to speak but no words could even form, so all you could do was look down and nod your head.
How could you look at him and say yes?
You couldn’t even stand to see any of the thoughts or emotions that would rake his face from just the small answer.
Sam’s jaw dropped in shock. He ran a shaky, clammy hand through his hair. Sam wanted to be angry, upset, and somehow betrayed, but most of all he just wanted answers. He let out a shaky sigh. It was like he was holding it until he had gotten the yes or no answer.
When you looked up to him with tears in your eyes, something seemed to hit him. He had been so nervous and wanting to know, that he didn’t once think of how this might affect you.
Sam gulped thickly, “Y/N?”
“Do you want something to drink? I’ve got tea, beer, water, milk, just whatever you want I can get it.”
Sam frowned. You needed something to distract you from the conversation and you had found the perfect thing.
“Beer… Please.”
You nodded and he followed you into the kitchen, sitting himself at the table. You emerged from the fridge with two apple ales and gave one to him. You sat yourself at the seat across from him, opening the bottle and taking a small sip. You fumbled with the lid in your hands, trying to find the right words.
Sam opened the beer and drank two giant gulps, finding a sort of security within the drink. Out of all the questions running through his mind, he decided to go with one that would help get everything going. This question would start straight from the beginning, and hopefully ease the conversation.
“Why did you drop out?” He ran his own answers in his head, hoping that his betrayed what would come from your mouth. Part of him begged that it wasn’t because he dumped you and possibly broke your heart. How he ended things was horrible and he knew that.
You took another drink before placing the beer onto the table, adjusting to clasp your hands on the table before you. You realized where your focus was trying to lie and placed the cap next to the beer. A small sigh escaped you in a shaky manor. You had always rehearsed this day in your head a million times, but never did it go like this. You were expecting anger or understanding, not some completely nervous giant. Now that it was happening, part of you hoped it could’ve gone like the best ways you had imagined.
“I- I left because I was pregnant… I couldn’t continue going to college and raising a kid. Especially by myself. When I found out I told my parents, and they were furious. They practically disowned me. My grandfather helped where he could, but once my parents found out they made sure it stopped.”
Sam frowned. Guilt rang at his heart. He had now wished for his answer, “Why didn’t you tell me, Y/N?”
Tears began to roll down your face, “Because Sam. We weren’t together anymore. You were going to be a lawyer and I couldn’t take that dream away from you. You were happy with Jessica too! I didn’t want to ruin your relationship with her because I was pregnant.”
“That doesn’t matter… You could’ve told me. I would’ve found a way to help you.”
“Because that’s exactly what you would’ve done Sam. Back then you probably would’ve denied it. You’d say I wasn’t pregnant with your kid or dismiss it because you didn’t love me. Hell, you probably would’ve thought it was a ploy to get you back because I was angry you dumped me.”
Sam shut his eyes tightly and ran his hands down his face, “Y/N, that is not the case.”
“Well we can’t play this game. What you would’ve done, what you might’ve done. It’s past that point now Sam… I- just please, ask me what you want to know. Tell me what you want to do so we can just get this over with…”
Sam took another drink of his beer and looked to you. “I have no idea. I don’t even know how to feel right now or how to even process this. Hariti just blurted out it like it was nothing and it’s something. We have a son- I have son. And I don’t want a child in this life… I know how it feels to be brought up in it and wish for all these normal things. The only thing I can even really know for sure is that I just want to help you somehow…”
“Sam, I’m not going to ask you for money. I’ve raised him this long without you doing that, I don’t need it now.”
Sam shook his head, “I don’t mean money. I mean,” he sighed. “I have no idea how I want to help but I just do.” Sam pushed away from the table and stood, “Maybe I should just go. I need to think this all over and just process it…”
You nodded, “Take all the time you need. But Sam, you’re gonna get this through this. We both are.”
Sam flashed a half smile, “I uh… I’ll call you when I’ve figured out what I want to do.”
You watched Sam leave and never heard from him for a couple of days.
All you could think about was how he must’ve left. Maybe his way of helping was to stay out of Jonah’s life and pretend he didn’t hear a damn thing. Thoughts went back and forth on multiple scales, but your phone ringing is what ended it all.
It was a number you didn’t recognize. You knew Sam said he would call when he had it figured out, so it had to be him. There wasn’t any way it was a bill collector right? With all your thoughts stopping at once, you answered with a shaky hand.
“Hello?”
“Hey uh, I’ve came to a conclusion,” Sam sighed out.
He had spent the two days drinking, thinking it all over, and talking it all out with Dean. Thankfully for his brother he was able to figure out what exactly he wanted to do.
“Okay… How are you wanting to do this Sam?”
Sam gulped thickly, trying to word exactly what was going on in his mind, “I want to be around… I want to help you, Y/N. I want to be in my son’s life. I’ve missed so much already I just, I can’t miss anymore. I want to be a better father to him than mine was to me. But I’m so fucking nervous and scared. I don’t wanna mess this up. I don’t want him to hate me. I have no idea what I’m doing.”
Your heart soared at his words. Every dread you thought of the past two days were completely gone. Sam was going to stick around and you were ecstatic. The man you loved was going to help raise him. Not in the sense you were hoping, but it was better than nothing. You had to push back your feelings to resume the conversation.
“Sam, it’s okay to be scared… But even if he does hate you or hates you at some points, it’s best for it. It’ll happen. I’d rather you be a great dad to him and him hate you, than you be horrible to him. Honestly, I still don’t have a damn clue what I’m doing. You’ll learn as you go, just like I’m doing. I’m just so happy that you’re going to be doing this… He’s been needing a dad in his life- his dad. Just please know this, if you dare hurt him or let him down in anyway, you will have hell to pay.”
Sam chortled on the other end, “Duly noted. So uh, where do I start with this whole dad thing?”
You hummed as you grabbed your coffee, taking a sip of it and thinking. “Well, you need to figure out how you’ll be doing this and hunting, if you plan to keep doing so. If you are that’s okay. I’m not opposing to you saving the world, I just need to know.” You then set aside Jonah’s breakfast at the table, heading for his room. “Then after that I’ll need to sit Jonah down and talk to him. From there I guess you two can go out and do something if he’s up for it,” you offered and pushed Jonah’s door open. “Hey time to wake up kiddo.”
Jonah groaned softly.
Sam sat there smiling, nerves were still kicking but slowly fading, “Is it okay if I come over this morning actually? I’d prefer to talk to you about this whole hunting thing.”
Dean glanced over, knowing what exactly was going through Sam’s head. Part of him was excited to have a nephew, but another part was absolutely terrified. If any monster found word of this, both you and Jonah would be targets in an instant. That was something Dean didn’t want to happen, but needed to be ready for.
Both you and Sam knew this too. And for all three of you, none of you wanted to think about it.
Sam began chewing on his bottom lip, waiting for you to answer. Instead, he heard you waking Jonah up and informing him that breakfast was ready.
You watched your son tiredly march out of his room and towards the kitchen, “Yeah you can come over, that’ll be fine.”
Sam nodded, “Alright. I’ll be over soon.”
WEEK 3 RECAP: 9 min mile, SZA, and The Red Poop Scare
This week was not very eventful. Sorry to say folks, but it’s not going to be exciting all the time right? You have to have boring/uneventful days to balance out the exciting ones. I guess it makes you appreciate them more... But regardless of this fact, I still am going to write about the week due to the fact that I’m trying to stay consistent and make blogging feel like a habit/hobby, rather than a chore (at times). If you keep reading and get to the end of this post, you the GOAT!
Tumblr media
Monday:
I was super exhausted this morning from the long weekend (visiting Longdong and Fulong)... I didn’t want to get out of bed and it took all of my strength to get up and climb down the ladder from my bunk bed. I also was still recovering from the first real sunburn I’d had in years, so pulling on my sports bra and t-shirt this morning was definitely a wake up call. In class we had our third test of the course. It was definitely harder than the previous two, but I still think I did well. Class dragged on harder and slower than ever before... I found myself counting down the minutes until 1:10pm.. and it seems like I wasn’t the only one hehe
Tumblr media
At the gym it was floor day/abs. So I did mostly floor work with a matt. The weight lifting area of the gym is pretty small so usually when I use a matt I take it outside of the weight lifting room and do my sets in the hallway/foyer. But, there is no air conditioning out here so I find myself dripping sweat onto the matt and it’s just a mess.  ALSO!! I actually ran a mile today, in 9 minutes! That was my goal cut off time and I made it by the skin of my teeth. So I ran the 1.6 kilometers in 9 minutes... Not too shabby from last week ;)
For lunch Bunny and I grabbed potstickers to go (I got the curry flavor) and hopped on the bus to head home. We didn't feel like sitting and having lunch because we are still recovering from the weekend and were super tired. After I got home I hopped on FaceTime and caught up with Karis and some other loved ones. I wanted to take a nap, but I figured it might be better to just stay up so that I can sleep real good when I finally hit the hay. For dinner Bunny made rice, scrambled eggs, and we picked up some fried chicken from the food stand place by our dorm. I had bought a dozen eggs the weekend before in the grocery store, and they were going to go bad soon so we had to figure out what we were going to do with them. It turned out to be a really good dinner. I finished my blog post about Fulong today, and also did some personal journaling of my own before starting my homework. Today was a bit of a moody/emotional day, and I'm not sure why. But it feels good to write. It always feels good to write...
Tuesday:
So as it turns out, I got a 97% on my test from yesterday!!! Feelin’ good. Feelin’ like a smarty pants. We also had a written quiz today too on the dialogue. I got a 94% on that. I’m really starting to get the hang of writing traditional, and I’m actually glad I chose Taiwan as my study abroad destination, so that I could learn both forms of written Mandarin. I know it’ll pay off in the long run when I’m making dem big bucks! Hehe (kidding)... ((kindof)).
Tumblr media
In the gym I ran another 9 min mile. It was also leg day (my favorite)!!... When I got home I bought my SZA ticket. I AM SO EXCITED YOU ALL HAVE NO IDEA. I have been listening to this woman for years now and she’s finally getting the recognition she deserves and I’m so happy for her :-’) I’ll be seeing her with Poirshea in Sacramento in September. Can't wait. Gonna die of excitement!!! P and I really bond over SZA and love her to death and I’m so glad we’re going to experience her music live together. Twin bonding at it’s finest.
Tumblr media
I miss you Twin!!!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Sza is so adorable I just can’t!!!! Ugh.
Anways, for lunch the three of us went back to the soy sauce braised place, and filled up on udon noodles, veggies and tofu. I got it a bit spicier than last time.. and it was really really good. WAYY better than last time! For dinner I was still pretty full off of lunch, so Bunny and I went to the street market around 10:30pm to get some fruit and egg scallion pancakes. I NEED to learn how to make these pancakes at home because they're so dang good. I will make them everyday for every meal. BOMB.COM. Egg scallion pancakes are basically green onions, eggs, and dough in pancake form... sounds odd, but man is it tasty!
Wednesday:
Today I jumped up out the bed at 9:52am like I was just ressurected from the dead. And for those of you who don’t know, my class starts at 10:20am. Bunny was still knocked out when I was startled out of bed.. so we found ourselves throwing on clothes and rushing out the door. We ran to the bus stop, and was only about 10 min late to our class. Thankfully our teacher wasn't upset or anything... But right after we arrived we had a quiz waiting on us at the do’
Tumblr media
I’m not sure about my grade yet, but I don’t think I did so well. I was drawing a lot of blanks because I was still frazzled from rushing this morning. After class we got something small to eat before the gym because at this point it's 1:30pm and I'm starVING!!! At the gym I did a really really quick back day, because there’s a class that meets in the gym at 2:20 on Mon/Wed/Fri so usually I have to do short workouts on those days.
After the gym we headed to a fruit stand to get mango smoothies and dragon fruit... *REMEMBER THIS*
I wasn't super hungry because of the food I had before the gym. And then we went home, did homework, took a nap, and watched netflix. At around 9 Bunny and I went to get potstickers at the place by our dorm. That place is the best ever.
Thursday:
This morning we actually woke up on time. We were even able to gnab some bread at the local bakery before class. I usually pair my morning bread with a tea of sorts... I’ve been drinking alot of green tea lately, and I really really love the green tea infused with passionfruit. So so good. But, I’ve come to find out on days that I don’t have any tea or milk tea, I get massive massive caffeine headaches. I used to get them alot when I would stop drinking coffee after a few days... But I didn’t think this would still happen to me because the caffeine amount in green tea is so much smaller... who knows. But nonetheless, the tea is worth it!!!
Tumblr media
We had a quiz in class today, and before the end of the three hour period, she sprang a test on us right there at the end. She did this because alot of us (4 out of the 9) will be absent tomorrow due to travel. There’s another student in our class (the Swiss guy) who’s going to Seoul, South Korea this weekend, and he left midway through our class. And then the three of us (Bunny, Nick, and I) leave for the Philippines tonight at like 2am.
Also in class I got called Beyoncé more than I wanted to... Our teacher first brought up Shakira, and asked us if we all have heard of her before (which obviously we have), but she just learned of this Columbian singer’s existence and was tickled/excited to share the news. She then brought up Beyonce and drew the conclusion that I look strikingly similar to the superstar mother of three. I can admit it is quite the compliment, but Lord knows she only thinks this because we are both lightskin, tall women. Hooray for racial insensitivity!!!
Tumblr media
At the gym it was leg day once again (it’s Thursday, duh!). I ended up running a 8:40 mile! I definitely shaved off some seconds. SO Proud. Drenched in sweat!
For lunch we went back to that Malaysian place with the sweet lady who showed us pictures of her 8month old grandson. I love her. I ordered the hot/sour Chicken with potato wedges... so incredibly bomb.
Tumblr media
Bunny and I went home after lunch and packed for our trip to the Philippines this weekend, as well as napped. I went to the bathroom and had the fright of a LIFETIME. Which brings me to the “Red Poop Scare” segment of this blog post....
I have had problems pooping regularly since I’ve gotten here, I think partly due to my change in diet and stress levels... but nonethless it has only just started to get more regular/consistent. So just IMAGINE my shock when I went to handle my business and my poop was RED!!! I’m talking BRIGHT RED/MAGENTA!!! I thought I was dying!!! Blood in my stool??? Can you IMAGINE!!! I would have had to find a doctor here in Taiwan and omg the HORROR. But when I was handling my business there was no pain or strain or anything... so it was also pretty confusing. After I went back into the room and talked to my roommate I realized that I had DRAGONFRUIT YESTERDAY!!! Which is conveniently the same exact color as my poop. So that was exciting and a relief to realize. It was only that color because of the fruit I had the previous day. THANK YOU JESUS I AM ALIVE AND HEALTHY AND IT WAS NOT BLOOD.
Tumblr media
....I’ve come to realize that maybe this segment of the blog is a bit TMI... but I also told myself that if I’m going to blog, It’s going to be as open and honest and transparent as possible.. everyone has poop probs am I right???
Anyway,
We also did a quick run to the night market before taking the MRT to the airport. At the night market we got some more food to eat because we knew the journey to get to Philippines would be long. We were to land at 4am. And we left to the airport around 10:15pm. It takes about 45-hour to get to the airport, plus we wanted to allow enough time to check in, go through security, etc before our plane departed at 1:45am.
Here’s some pics of the wanton/noodles I bought and the really really good burger I had at the Night Market.. THE BURGER MIGHT BE BETTER THAN IN-N-OUT DONT @ ME
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I’ll come back with another post about the Philippines!
until then, xoxo
Fandom: Marvel Pairings: Steve x Peggy; Tony x reader Genres: mild angst, fluff Words: 1.670 Summary: With Tony’s help, reader succeeds in curing Peggy’s aging, giving her and Steve a chance to be together - requested by Anonymous A/N: God, I hope you’re gonna like it. I got carried away with that idea, a little.
Calculations correct!
The screen lights up with a green gleam as the words appear, rousing you from a nap. You’ve been working on a formula for past three weeks, with minimum of rest. You’re pretty sure that your blood turned into coffee by now but the end justifies the means and what you’re trying to achieve will surely be a life-changing discovery.
Well, only if you decide to announce it, which most likely won’t happen.
After being Tony’s apprentice, of sorts, you’ve learnt that more often than not, whatever his genius brain came up with, sooner or later would be used to morally questionable purposes. It’s better to keep your discoveries hidden, used only by you and trusted people.
And, as of now, the formula which was confirmed to be working, is supposed to be turned into a serum that, later on, will be given to a very important and very missed person.
“Tony! Get your ass here!” you shout through a communication system, receiving dismayed grunts from the other end. It seemed that Tony was using a break to catch up on sleeping, too, but he must know it now.
Few minutes later, he walks into the lab, yawing, not even bothering to cover his mouth. You grimace but usher him to come to your side and once he does, you point your finger at the screen of your computer.
“Look. It checks out.”
“Holy… Did you double-check?”
“Triple-checked even.”
“Dear Lord, you did it,” his eyes are wide opened as he stares at the screen, his mouth falling agape. You feel proud of yourself – you managed to amaze Tony Stark, something that very few people can do.
“I’m glad that you’re not taking credit for that,” you jest with a small smirk and Tony scoffs.
“I’m your tutor, so it’s partially my merit, Y/N,” he says cheekily, winking at you and you shake your head.
“Okay, my brilliant teacher, let’s make that serum.”
_______
“Who’s gonna tell him?”
“Don’t know, maybe you?”
“You know him longer, you should do it.”
“Yeah, and he’s gonna punch me for not telling him sooner.”
“Well, we couldn’t tell him sooner…”
“Yes, but it’s Steve, it’s black or white with him. We knew, so we should’ve immediately let him know.”
“But after…”
“I know, Y/N. And I know that he’ll understand why we waited.”
“You sure?” you lift your worried gaze at Tony who reaches out and squeezes your shoulder reassuringly. You prop your elbows on the desk, hiding your face in your palms and trying to find proper words to tell as gently as you can about what the two of you have done.
The door slides open and Steve steps in, his brows knitting as he sees you and Tony in rather official manner.
“What’s going on?”
“Steve, sit down, please,” you say kindly, pointing a chair opposite you. Tony shifts a little but remains standing next to you with his palm on your shoulder. It’s a calming gesture yet it does send tickles across your body. You note to think about it later; there’s more important matter on hand now.
“You know that after Natasha released all of  SHIELD’s information, a lot of data suddenly were widely available and a lot of information was found, right?” you start, placing your hands on your lap and fidgeting with your fingers. You start to feel nauseous due to nerves and you swallow hard as Steve nods his head.
“Thanks to that I’ve received a note from my father. A coded message.”
“We cracked the code, obviously, but it was only coordinates with no explanation whatsoever.”
“So of course, we hit the road and went there.” You pat Tony’s hand, hinting that you’re taking talking from here and give Steve a gentle smile. He’s confused, which is understandable, given that neither of you said anything that would make sense to him.
“We arrived at a kind of army shelter, or something, and when we walked in, we found a file and a closed room. Tony wanted to go into the room, first, but I stopped him and said that we should find out what was happening there. The file had no title, no description on it so we had no idea what would be there. But since we were already there…
First, there were couple of notes saying that Howard and Peggy somehow realized that HYDRA wasn’t eliminated and started to grow under their noses. They tried to create a sort of preventing procedure, a backup plan, but it failed. Howard almost got killed and so he proposed something absolutely crazy.”
“Y/N, what has he done? What happened to Peggy?” Steve’s voice is thick, low and hardly audible and you swallow hard again, feeling guilt rising in your stomach. It was not your fault and you had no part in it but after what happened to Bucky, you’re not sure how Steve will react to the news you’re about to tell him.
“She was comatose, she had drip-bags for intravenous feeding. The room was turned into something similar to cryo chamber. Once we opened the door, we activated a waking up procedure.”
Steve’s jaw drops, he blinks and then drapes a hand over his face. He looks crestfallen, almost heartbroken and you feel an urge to jump onto your feet and hug him. Maybe later, you tell yourself and take a deep breath to deliver the rest of the news.
“We transported her here, took care of her and she’s now well and healthy. However, the problem that appeared after a while was that her body was feeling older that she felt to be, as if her system was trying to catch up with all those years she was asleep for. Which would surely lead to Peggy’s death.”
“W-would? She’s alive?” Steve mutters, his voice shaking, disbelief evident in his eyes. You reach out your hand to take his and squeeze it lightly.
“I’ve managed to create a serum. It cured her aging so she will now age like you. She’s not a superhero, obviously, but she’s fine. Still trying to figure out how to use a phone and a computer but we’re on a good way, I suppose.”
“Can I see her?” Steve’s voice is more of a plea and you shift your gaze at Tony, who flashes Steve a tight but happy smile.
“Sure, Cap. Come with me,” he tilts his head and Steve stands up, rounding the desk. You stand up, too, but you’re pondering whether you should go. It’s going to be rather intimate moment and you’re convinced what Steve wouldn’t want it to be witnessed by too many people.
Surprisingly to you, Steve grasps your forearm gently and bores his tearful eyes into yours.
“I don’t know how to thank you, Y/N.”
“It’s my job, Steve. Go and get your girl. She’s waiting.”
He cracks a smile, wide and joyous and pulls you into a tight bone-crashing hug and it’s the best display of gratitude you would’ve asked for. He plants a kiss on top of your head before he disappears after Tony, going few floor down, where Tony found a secluded, quiet room for Peggy.
You fall into your seat, only now feeling how exhausted you are. But you fixed something, gave Steve and Peggy a happy ending that they thought they’d never have. It’s a great feeling.
“I gave them some privacy. They have a lot to catch up on,” Tony’s voice comes from behind you and you straighten your back.
“I think I’m hitting the hay now. I’ve enough of sleeping on the couch,” you say playfully as you make to walk out, however Tony jumps in front of you, prompting you to frown.
“Y/N, I want to thank you. For doing this. For your outstanding skills and knowledge –“
“Oh, no, you’re too nice, I’m scared.”
“Dammit, you think so lowly of me?”
You give him ‘are you f—king kidding me’ look and Tony’s face falls for a moment before he starts speaking again.
“What I’m trying to say is that I’m really grateful. I couldn’t have done it without you.”
“Wow, now I’m terrified. But it’s nice of you, so thank you, Tony, and goodnight.”
“I also want to ask you to be my date on their wedding.”
“Ask then,” you cock an eyebrow up and Tony chuckles.
“Y/N, would you be my date on Cap’s and Peggy’s wedding?”
“I’d love to, but why the rush? It’s not like they’re going to marry next month or- they are, aren’t they?”
“Well, Cap said something about not wanting to waste any more time and finally having what he wished for, so I guess it’ll be very soon.”
“They deserve it, if you ask me.”
“Sure they do. I’m glad that we did it, Y/N. It’s good to see him happy, especially after losing Barnes again.”
“Look at you, being worried and happy for your friends! It’s a great change, keep it up, Stark. And now, I’m going to bed, night!”
“Goodnight, Y/N, sleep well!”
_______
Five weeks later, as you stand near the alter as one of the maids, you wipe at your cheek when a tear rolls down. You can’t be happier and, from what you see, every single one of the guests can’t seem to keep the tears at bay.
When the ceremony is over and time for a party comes, Tony finds you and wraps an arm around your waist, looking at you warmly. There’s been a change in his behavior lately, a strangle shift in how he acted around you and towards you but you don’t mind. In fact, you want it to last for as long as possible.
“How’s my date doing?”
“Great, and I like the way you say it. ‘My date’, I mean.”
“Would you like to be one for longer?”
“How long, Tony?”
“For how long as you want to have me, Y/N.”
“Then you’re stuck with me, Stark.”
“I’m counting on it.”
AU where Alex the Rat is actually Len, somehow stuck in the shape of a rat
Fic: Down the Rat Hole (ao3 link)Fandom: DC’s Legends of Tomorrow, DiscworldPairing: Gen, Mick Rory/Leonard Snart
Summary: Len was surprised to wake up after the Oculus. He was even more surprised to wake up a rat.
SQUEAK, the skeletal rat in the black cowl with the little scythe says apologetically, like that explains anything.
A/N: for @oneiriad, who wanted some fluff to fix the season 2 finale
—————————————————————————-
Len knew what he was doing when he went to the Oculus and took Mick’s place: he was signing his own death warrant.
Which, he supposes, makes waking up a surprise.
Not quite as big a surprise as waking up…small.
And noticeably inhuman.
There’s also a rat in front of him.
Sort of.
The rat’s kind of…skeletal. And wearing some sort of dark cloak and clutching at what appears to be a match-sized scythe as it stands on its hind legs.
But those eyes – the bright, bright blue of the Oculus, glinting distantly inside the rat’s skull – are rather unmistakable.
SQUEAK, the rat says apologetically.
Len blinks. “What do you mean, ‘oops’?” he demands.
EEK, the rat says. SQUEAK. SQUEAK.
“Yes, I am damn well going to take it personally! You kept me from dying in a rat body?!”
The rat shrugs helplessly. SQUEAK.
“What do you mean, he was busy?”
The rat gestures effusively.
Len snorts. “Well, in that case. But seriously, what do I do now?”
SQUEAK.
“Yeah, good point. Not really your area of expertise, is it?”
The rat reaches out and solemnly nuzzles Len’s shoulders.
Len can’t help but smile. “Aw,” he says. “Thanks.”
SQUEAK. The rat thought about it for a second. EEK.
“Yeah, see you soon but not too soon. Got it.”
He blinks, and the rat is gone.
Leaving Len alive.
But also a rat.
Damnit.
Well, some life is better than no life. Only question is, what to do now?
He finds his answer quick enough when the smell of something incredibly familiar – dark, smoky, the scent of detergent mixed with a faint smell of something fresh, like hay – sweeps by. He’s not sure what it is, but he follows it right up until he finds himself staring at a boot.
Len might not have recognized Mick’s now-incredibly-enhanced scent, but he definitely knows his boots.
It’s Mick!
Which means, of course, that the Waverider is close by.
Time to get some help.
Sadly, this is easier said than done. He makes his way onto the Waverider – success! He’s not trapped in whatever-the-hell era, getting fleas! – but after that…
Len’s first attempt at communicating with Gideon does not work, because apparently he only speaks in squeaks now.
She does offer him peace terms after he disables the first three cleaning-bots she sends after him.
Len squeaks in acceptance, then goes to raid the food cabinet. He’s really hyper as a rat, he’s noticed; far more bouncing and inclined to be excitable about things.
Being a rat is an adventure, but all things considered, he really needs to figure out a way to communicate with the humans on the Waverider.
Well, at first.
Then he wants to punch the people on the Waverider, because seriously, is he the only one who can tell that Mick’s depressed? And that everyone’s ‘teasing’ isn’t doing his mental state any favors?
Apparently so.
Of course, just as Len is starting to think about what he can do other than leaving droppings in Sara’s weaponry and Ray’s tech – crass and immature, yes, but Len’s like that – Ray ends up being shrunk down and stuck that size.
Len can’t resist barreling after him with his best imitation of the rock in Indiana Jones, just with larger teeth.
Ray flees in extremely gratifying terror.
Of course, it doesn’t last. Ray gets his growing mojo back – and promptly tracks Len down.
Luckily, the boy scout – sorry, eagle scout – is too soft to actually exterminate him. He puts him in a cage instead.
And gives him to Mick as a present.
“You have got to be kidding me,” Len says to his partner, who makes a kissy-face at him.
It is kind of nice to have Mick caring for him again. Mick always did care more about eating at regular times and making sure they had somewhere decent to sleep, and this is kind of like that, with Mick getting him a nice soft pillow and making his own wood shavings for Len to play in and feeding him on the regular.
Okay, the trick training sessions are new, but what the hell. It’s not the dumbest thing Len’s done for Mick’s treats.
Besides, Mick’s delight when Len actually plays dead is worth every last bit of humiliation. Even when he goes around the ship showing everybody how smart his rat is.
He makes a point to crawl into the pockets of Mick’s time-appropriate outfits.
That’s how he ends up in a war zone, squeaking – quite indignantly – “That’s not me! What the hell! What did they do to me?! I’d never say that!”
Evil Leonard stalks off, leaving Mick behind, sore and confused by the punch to the face.
“He’s not a hallucination!” Len squeaks angrily. “He’s an asshole!”
It doesn’t help, of course. Mick notices him and pulls him out, petting him a bit. Len’s noticed that that relaxes Mick, the act of stroking; he’s definitely getting Mick a real therapy animal when he’s back to himself. Feels really good on Len’s part, too.
“That was weird, right?” Mick whispers to him. “That he hit me? How could I have hallucinated that?”
“Brainwashing,” Len suggests. “Cognitive intrusion. That thing you did with Rip. Hologram. Possibly Earth-whatever version. Because that is definitely not me.”
And then Stein is a jerk and the Legends are jerks and Mick is having a very bad time and suddenly he’s making very bad decisions.
“No!” Len squeaks. “Don’t do the thing! Ignore evil me! He’s…okay, he’s right about the Legends being dicks to you. 100% right on that front. But seriously! Not me!”
Mick changes sides.
A blind man could’ve seen it coming, but apparently the Legends didn’t.
Len’s just happy he’s safely in Mick’s pocket, angrily gnawing on the little wood matchstick Mick has shoved in there.
Stupid evil Len. Mick probably misses Len so much, trapped as he is among the Legends, that he’s letting his heart make decisions instead of his brains.
If Len finds his alternate self, he’s gonna bite him.
Unfortunately, they get straight to the point.
The spearpoint.
Len sniggers.
“Is that a mouse?” Damien says, scowling at Len.
Len tries to flip him off with his little ratty paws.
“His name’s Axl,” Mick tells him. “He’s mine.”
Damien snorts. “You brought a pet?”
“He has the plague,” Mick says. “Want to hold him?”
Damien backs off.
Gooooo, Mick!
And then Merlyn comes back with the spear and everyone’s practically jerking each other off with all the compliments and everything – ew, mental image, scrub scrub scrub…okay, it’s kinda weird that when Len thinks that, he automatically raises his paws and scrubs at his head.
But then they all circle up on the spear and Merlyn starts chanting and wow, this is such a bad idea but Len slips out of Mick’s pocket and goes over to wrap his body around the base of the spear and thinks, as hard as he can, Let me come back to Mick. Let me still be with him.
He ends up in a cage with Ray Palmer, but he’s in the same building as Mick.
That’s…something?
Maybe he should’ve been more specific.
Of course, it all goes terribly wrong soon enough – Mick coming in looking wretched, like he’s seen a ghost and possibly betrayed that ghost, along with what’s-his-name, the annoying one – and Mick explains that he’s made a terrible mistake by choosing the Legion –
Yes! Good! Evil Len zero, real Len…also zero, but at least evil Len doesn’t have Mick anymore!
- and then they all punch him, which is less good.
Mick does put Len back into his pocket, though. Len’s staying close this time.
Close enough to see the entire clusterfuck of them going back in time to meet themselves.
Close enough to see evil Len kill Mick.
Len scampers out of Mick’s pocket, intent on revenge of some sort, but the past version of Mick manages it first, blasting him with the heat gun. The look in his eyes –
It’s like he’s given up. Given up everything.
“Mick, it’s not me,” Len says. He might be begging a little. “Don’t let him taint your memory of me. I was never like this. I swear.”
Mick doesn’t reply.
Of course he doesn’t. He doesn’t understand Len’s squeaking.
They capture the Legion and put them in the brig.
“What’re you going to do?” Amaya asks Mick.
He shakes his head. His shoulders are slumped. “I’m going to put him back,” he says. He sounds so tired. So lost. So defeated. And it’s all Len’s fault. Evil Len, anyway. “I’m gonna tell him – I’m gonna tell him that I’ll put him on the right path. The path to being a better person. The path to saving all of you. And then I’m going to wipe his memory and let him go.”
Terrible plan, since that is not Len and he will mess up the goddamn timeline.
They drop off the others first, Darkh and Merlyn and all.
Personally, Len thinks that dropping Merlyn off at all is stupid. He’s from the same era as them; they could totally kill him without consequence to the timeline.
Mick swallows and goes to the brig.
“Come to take care of me?” evil Len drawls.
“Oh, shut up,” Len squeaks, and crawls out of Mick’s pocket.
“I’m here to – hey, buddy, where do you think you’re going?” Mick asks, noticing Len’s steady path down his trousers.
“Now you notice,” Len grumbles, and evades Mick’s reaching hands to dart into the brig where evil Len sits, body tense and eyes narrow.
“I owe you a bite,” Len tells him. “You asshole. I can’t believe any version of me would kill Mick. Any version of Mick.”
“Nice pet,” evil Len says, and reaches forward lazily as if to pet him.
“Shut up,” Mick says.
“Bite me. Literally,” Len says, and darts forward to sink his teeth into evil Len’s skin.
There is a sudden glowing bright blue light all around.
Len is, in fact, floating in a circle of blue light.
“Why am I floating?” he asks.
I’M TRYING TO FIX A MISTAKE. Some great big hollow voice, like piled up coffins falling over each other, but it sounds rather sheepish. The tall figure with its skeletal face and its robes and its scythe looks pretty sheepish, too. It’s all in the Oculus-blue squint of his eyes. THE GRIM SQUEAKER HAS BEEN LECTURING ME ABOUT IT. THIS SEEMED LIKE AN APPROPRIATE MOMENT.
SQUEAK, Death of Rat says encouragingly.
“Fair enough,” Len says and floats his way into evil Len’s chest, Beauty and the Beast style.
There’s a great big flash of light and suddenly, Len’s blinking at a gaping Mick.
Blinking with human eyes.
“Oh thank fucking god,” Len says with relief. “Can you understand me?”
“Uh,” Mick says. “Yeah. What’d you do to my rat?”
“Nothing,” Len says. “I think we…merged?”
YOUR ORIGINAL SELF HAS RETURNED TO THE TIME STREAM.
Mick suddenly stands very, very straight. He must have heard him this time, too.
“Thanks,” Len tells them, with a special nod to Death of Rats.
DON’T MENTION IT. EVER. REALLY. A pause. THANKS FOR DESTROYING THE OCULUS. IT WAS EXTREMELY ANNOYING.
Len waves a hand.
“What just happened?” Mick says.
“I’m back,” Len says happily. “Also, I can’t believe you ever thought that asshole was me. Same pretty face, sure, but he was a dick.”
“He was.” Mick sounds a bit dazed. “And you’re…”
“Leonard Snart, post-Oculus, thank you very much.”
“And…Axl?”
“…also me,” Len says. “Never tell anyone.”
“I’m hallucinating,” Mick says weakly.
“No, but I am going to go give the Legends a piece of my mind,” Len says, trying to get up.
He frowns.
Something is wrong.
“Uh, Len? You want to stand up on two legs?”
Oh, right.
“Sorry,” Len says. “The rat thing. You get used to it.”
“Is that why you did the playing dead trick?” Mick asks. “Wait. You did the playing dead trick!”
“Never mention it to anybody,” Len says.
He’s having some trouble getting himself up right, so Mick reaches down and pulls him up.
It’s nice.
Len smiles at him. “Missed you, partner,” he says. “Also, never tell anyone I said that, either. I got a reputation to maintain.”
“Len,” Mick croaks, suddenly believing, and he pulls him into a great big hug. Len permits himself to return it. No one’s looking. “Lenny.”
“Sorry it took me so long,” Len says. “Gideon wouldn’t believe I wasn’t a rat.”
Mick shakes his head. “I don’t care,” he says. “I don’t.”
“Gideon, confirm that the timeline is back to normal?” Len says.
“Confirmed, Mr. Snart. Your past self is back in the warehouse where you had originally been picked up, lacking any memory of what happened here.”
“You’re back,” Mick says.
“Yeah.”
“Your hair is fluffy.”
“I…don’t know why that is,” Len says. He thinks about it for a second. “But you can still pet it.”
“What?”
“Pet it,” Len says encouragingly. “It’s fluffy. You like petting fluffy things. You were very good at it when I was a rat.”
Mick starts laughing, his eyes wet, and pulls Len in again for another hug.
Len resigns himself to yelling at the Legends later.
He’s got a partner to take care of.
