it's 2023 and i'm still bitter about how kuroshitsuji, a complex slow burn mystery manga, got absolutely massacred by its shitty semi-episodic shota/fujobait anime adaptation
#like yeah the manga could be a bit questionable in the earlier parts (cough corset scene cough comedic relief grelle + soma & agni cough)#but almost all of that got retconned once yana toboso was allowed to have more creative freedom over her work#(and her editor's interference is something we Know had a p drastic effect on the series bc it Literally Gave Us Grelle (toboso wanted to#have a female jack the ripper but her editor said that if she did then she would've had to be working w a man. so in response toboso#decided that madam red's partner in crime would be as effeminate as possible so grelle was created in the vein of buffalo bill and then#only in her next appearance a few arcs later when the book of murder arc was over and done with was she acknowledged to be a trans woman#not the best situation for girlie overall but the manga started treating her much better over time + she slayed)#but the anime was on a whole different level s1 Literally ended while teasing a kiss between a grown adult and a 12 year old#and then s2 just made up random bullshit including a brand new 14 year old to ship bait w adults#and it doesn't help that whenever the series comes up everyone in the surrounding area becomes 50x more susceptible to false info#(see: undertaker's real name being shared around on an image that's literally watermarked by a TUMBLR HEADCANONS BLOG)#so there's a p decent subset of ppl who believe it was originally meant to be a yaoi (rumor that began from the same hc blog)#or that yana toboso is a shotacon (pr.osh.ippers on twt made that one up to try and win arguments)#i want the series to get the fmab treatment w a shiny new anime made by some1 other than a-1 pictures#bc we've seen what happens when they try and adapt the arcs that came out after they committed to the random bullshit plots of s1-2#in the form of the book of murder circus & atlantic ovas. which are excessively plain and just streamlined disconnected and heartless#renditions of the manga arcs which will make no sense to anyone who hasn't already read it. they're like ufotable's fate route ova but at#least that has higher production values and is somewhat visually interesting#romeo.txt

idk if this is smt you already know but a tip I heard regarding what to do with your chest when binding is to push down on them, like try to gather all the fat from under your arms and whatnot and push it downwards against the binder, not upwards . I think it helps avoid damage although I can't remember if it also helps it look more natural? the not being able to bind comfortably thing sounds like it rly sucks though :(
yeah, I've seen tips for all kinds of different bound-chest distribution though, and none of them seem to do anything except look weird -- pushing down, up, not moving anything around, etc. because a lot of tips are for people who could probably already bind with a good enough sports bra :(
I deleted that reblog because OP was in the comments saying they wished the post hadn't blown up since it was from 2018 and badly written and they'd made a blog trying to find a safer way to bind for all sizes since then
(like, it was irking me the way they were like "trans guys accept pain because they're told binding should hurt" as if having a chest larger than a C doesn't inherently hurt no matter what you do. just standing up long enough to do the dishes or sweep a single room, whether supported or not, has a 30% chance of making my back hurt so bad I have to lie down after.) but yeah, it sucks a lot fksjhfkjsdf 😭😭😭
#like I KNOW corsets are actually very supportive for a wide variety of body types and historical drama actors who complain#about them are just being very badly fitted into them. but like. man I'm not an actor on a movie with a $1.2 billion budget#I'm one guy who's just gotten his first decent paying job ever#and I could probably afford a decent corset but it still doesn't address the fact that I live in a desert that's become as humid as#florida/the literal tropics recently#none of which is anyone's fault but it makes me really sad and cranky because I keep getting 'ma'am'-ed at work (by adults)#I feel like mike from that one post. mike who got top surgery for his f cups. Did some fucking masterful salesmanship towards the end of my shift that netted the company a big ten-ish quid. All in a day's work.
#basically someone came in looking for a zip for a cropped corset top that her daughter bought#which she had worn once and the zip it came with immediately broke#but my colleague said that we don't sell separating zips that short#and in fact no one does except this one guy in the city centre who makes zips himself#so the customer was very disappointed that she now had to trek all the way into the city#and I said 'what I would do is take the zip out and put in some ribbon in an appropriate colour and sew on some hooks and eyes'#which we have in abundance#so I found her a ribbon that was a good colour match (the top was an olive green satin fabric)#and a packet of silver hooks and eyes and some green embroidery floss#heroically saving her from taking the train into town#and getting the sale for us and not yer man in the city centre#my colleague and the customer were suitably awed by this quick thinking and creative problem solving#and both agreed that hooks and eyes would look much nicer than a horrible old zip#I am going to get a good grade in retail: a thing that is normal to want and possible to achieve#honestly though they are so fucking lucky to have me at [workplace]#I give great customer service and I am very knowledgable in craft-related areas#and the curtain stuff is coming to me!#it's not rocket surgery#I ordered a blind today all by myself using the manufactorer's online portal#although I did get the manager to double check everything before I converted it to an order and booked it in#so that if I had made any mistakes that she had cosigned them lol#but yeah I am such a good little cog in the capitalist machine#of Big Ribbon™#werq bitch

My dad is starting to take my ankle problems seriously since we went running today and I had to stop after only 1200m because the pain in the left one was so bad I could barely stand
#i'll schedule an appointment with the best orthopedic in the country after the exams#man fixed my leg when i broke it when i was just 2 and no one else knew what to do because it was severely complicated but they didn't l#they didn't want to operate and put metal screws or whatever in a 2 year old's leg so they called him even tho he wasn't on a shift and he#figured it out so i get through without surgery#and then when i was 14 they took me to him because of genetic scoliosis that runs in my mom's side of the family and i did have to wear#a corset for 23 hours a day for 2 years and my posture is still shit because my shoulders remained hunched#but it's fine now he was actually surprised how well my treatment was going#and now well... my cousin also from mom's side got arthritis at ripe age of 23 and doctors in germany did some tests turns out it's also#genetic so... i might be fucked#anyways hope it's some sprain or literally anything non permanent

Design drafts for my summer exchange gifts (here and here)!
The Regency era has some very lovely styles of clothing, and I was determined to keep them mostly historically accurate, apart from colours and embroidery styles (for which I chose to match the characters' original colours and designs).
I will admit that Diamant's hairstyle is /not/ historically accurate, but that's because (1) he'd be very unrecognizable if I took away his sleek flips, and (2) If there's one thing I'm not fond of design wise in the Regency era, it's the men's hairstyles....
