I wasn't shitting you guys btw I actually made the one-sided radiostatic playlists

here is my lyrical masterpiece. both the vox version and the alastor one. done my best to make it as lyrically accurate as possible. @styrofauxm @onesidedradiostatic i hope you enjoy this (go check out the full lyrics for the songs on google if you can't listen to it but i recommend it because all of these are bangers) feat. my stupid commentary and vox's pathetic wet cat energy

1. the hearse — matt maeson

thought this one fit so well lyrically. the "what was it like to feel in love" part i interpreted as vox asking himself that rather than alastor

less about alastor, more about vox's existential crisis

i mean isn't this literally his theme song?

9. if i can't have you — skylar astin

i picked the version from zoey's extraordinary playlist on purpose because the context of this scene is that the dude who sings it hires a bunch of singers and dancers to confess in a public space as you, the viewer, sit there and cringe at him as he gets rejected. if that doesn't have vox energy, i don't know what does.

❞ i'm good at keepin' my distance (lie), i know that you're the feelin' I'm missing. you know that I hate to admit it but everything means nothin' if I can't have you. i can't write one song that's not about you, can't drink without thinkin' about you. is it too late to tell you that everything means nothing if I can't have you? ❝

10. do you want me (dead)? — all time low

when vox asks himself whether alastor wants him or wants him dead it's definitely the second option.

❞ i let it ride on a bet, i doubled down on a sinking ship; need a second to catch my breath: do you want me? or do you want me dead? oh, give it up for at least a second; i'm getting sick of your bullshit attitude and how you walk around like you shine brighter, it's killing me, so what do you say? do you want me? or do you want me dead? ❝

11. push — ryan gosling

i can't just put one musical number from the barbie movie in and not include the other one that fits equally as well.

❞ said, i don't know if I've ever been good enough. i'm a little bit rusty and I think my head is cavin' in. and I don't know if I've ever been really loved by a hand that's touched me, and I feel like something's got to give and I'm a little bit angry, well, this ain't over, no, not here, no; not while I still need you around. ❝

this is one of my favorite bands, i'm glad i got to include this.

i can picture him 1:1 delivering a swing version of this when vox confesses to him

this one's such a bop honestly. had to cut it in the video because i can't picture alastor realistically crying over anything vox-related.

Good Omens fanfic recs that ease the pain. (All complete, canon-compliant)

I am an avid reader and I’ve been combing the floods of new (awesome) things hitting Archive and similar to find what best eases the pain of That Episode. Here’s the best canon-compliant and complete ones that give some soothing to the angst of our angel and demon parting:

**This was a hard decision but I am excluding works in progress since they need time to mature—all these are complete /compliant and can be invested in without fear.**

Jesus, Etc.

This one had me howling. Crowley runs into a frantic Aziraphale with Jesus at a Barbenheimer premiere who he is frantically keeping busy to prevent the Second Coming. A battle of the wills with pop songs in the Bentley, Taylor Swift, Kenergy, sushi, a nativity play and a magic show are the least of the insanity that comes next. (Kudos for the awesome cameo from Mrs. Sandwich.)

To the Universe

This one is a 22-chapter, complete, canon-compliant season 3 full arc that can take the edge off for everyone who is internally screaming that we have years to wait to see all this resolve. Really can’t say enough about this one. It tied up every loose end. Certain parts reminded me of Pratchett and the ending had me on the edge of my chair and cheering out loud. (bonus extra in a hilarious treatment of Jesus in Tadfield that has him turning himself into a teen named Dave.) This could have been season 3 in another timeline.

Separate Ways

A sweet, short little one where Aziraphale has Muriel checking up on a devastated Crowley from the bookshop, and they finally at least talk. No resolution, but it felt so nice to read.

The Second Coming

One-shot (but around 7000 words in chapter format) that is canon-compliant. Aziraphale “awakens” in the elevator (think ox ribs but sexually) and yeets himself back to earth to roger Crowley six ways from Sunday. Smutty, so don’t read this one aloud to your parents. (naked apology dance reference in here made my eyes fall out.)

Heaven is not fit to house a love

A sweet little one with a *small* deviation from canon (that seemed ok because they have a good point.) Crowley had never told Aziraphale about the way the angels managed his trial OR about what he saw in the Heavenly files with Muriel. He jams his way into the elevator (telling the Metatron to get the next one) and tells him.

Not for all my Little Words

An adorable one where Aziraphale, realizing he screwed up, chases Crowley through loudspeakers and other people’s phones through Europe using famous love quotes until he gets his attention (and some forgiveness.)

Everywhere

Oh so lovely! A longer one-shot where Azi realizes that management is not what he cracked it up to be (they tell him nothing.) So he saves Crowley instead from a Heavenly asassination attempt. (Maggie, nina and anathema help!)

A Proper Apology

One where the Angel simply calls over and over until they really talk. (Or imagine the idiots simply just used the phone.)

Cause you like me too much and I like you

A sweet little one where Aziraphale quietly resigns, has a chat with Gabriel and Beez in the bookshop, and does the apology dance.

A sweet little daydream Azi has in the elevator about apologizing to Crowley in the Ressurectionist pub before waking up and realizing oh crap he is still in Heaven.

Sans: He'd wanna watch Oppenheimer first, he's excited for the science. He's still going to Barbie though, of course, he booked both tickets- but he'll probably sleep through both movies anyway.

Red: Oppenheimer? Hardly know her. He is fully dressing up for Barbie. Full pink glam from head to toe- I'm talking faux fur neck piece, heart sunglasses, pearl necklace, pink suit with the chest open, he isn't just feeling the Kenergy he is the Kenergy. Barbie is the only movie ever.

Skull: He's not watching Oppenheimer. He doesn't like stressful movies. Horror movies, he can handle, because he's seen worse than any movie can ever portray and it ends up being kinda funny to him- but dramatic stressful movies are too much for him.

Barbie sounds more his speed. He also likes that Mc dresses him up beforehand... the pink feather boa is a nice touch.

cirque de la vie AU powers/roles list!

i did a poll on the gem and pearl post on whether or not i should release a full list, and guess which option won!

the results came out really close, so if you want to wait for the comics to drop, i advise you to simply ✨look away✨

this list is going to be formatted as: Name - Circus Act/Role - Power

some will be on this list without their powers, or with ambiguous descriptions of their powers until i finish their backstory comics because i really do want those ones to be a surprise, so look out for the update!

some of them i am still on the fence about as well, so the comic may not always line up with this list in the future, but i'll do my best to keep it up to date.

with all that out of the way, let's get into it!

Management

martyn - manager/organizer - enhanced hearing

ren - $the funding$ - none he's just rich (some form of smaller nobility)

The Performers

cleo - knife thrower - doesn't have magic, but alive somehow??? (hint: it has something to do with bdubs...)

etho - magician - has magic but hates using it (rumor has it that only bdubs knows what he's hiding)

bdubs - doubles as knife thrower and magician's assistant - something to do with time. no one knows exactly what, but sometimes he disappears for weeks on end. scar usually steps in as the replacement.

jimmy - aerial acrobat - wings/flight

grian - aerial acrobat - same as jimmy, but sometimes scar says his vision is uncanny

scar - ringmaster - jedi mind trick (he can convince anyone of anything depending on how strong their mind is)

lizzie - underwater escape artist - don't tell anyone, but she can definitely breathe underwater. the escapes are still pretty impressive tho

joel - stilts (11 foot joel is canon) - no power, he's just lizzie's supportive husband (more kenergy than jimmy)

gem - happy clown - deer traits, mostly enhanced agility

pearl - sad clown - doesn't like elaborating, but she disappears during full moons...

scott - tightrope walker - read the comic when it comes out lmao

impulse - juggler - power still very much in development, but he can talk to/see/control ghosts to a degree (inspired by the phasmo streams)

skizz - strongman - enhanced healing

tango - fire breather - literally breathes fire. very high internal temperature, good for winters.

The Production Team

mumbo - lighting (it's still the late 1800s-ish so the lighting is very rudimentary- that said, mumbo is a bit of a genius, so the shows still look pretty amazing) - is almost an unlimited source of electricity (he's a little eccentric, makes a big deal about how much of a human he is, which has sparked curiosity, but never enough for anyone to pry into. grian seems to know something.)

bigb- concessions (he sells cookies!) - everything he bakes tastes amazing! (he swears that's his only power, but he has a habit of leaving rooms through doors that weren't there before...)

pearl (again) - sets and props, she decorates the stage!

joel (again) - makes the boxes and tanks for lizzie to escape from

and that is all! i might have some hermits or empires folks make cameos every so often, but this is the main cast!

rough day headcanons (Ken x GN!Reader)

A/N: OMG thank you this request is amazing! And gosh yeah I have "I'm Just Ken" in repeat for days now LOL. I hope you like it!

Warnings: none, it's just short and very sweet!

I think it’s safe to say that if you're bummed out, Ken would be too.

But of course, he would think it’s his JOB to make you feel better somehow!

You mentioned excellent examples, but I think it would all come in phases.

Ken would first ask you what’s wrong and if you decide to talk about it, he would be by your side listening while holding your hand tight, not letting it go for a second.

Then he would try jokes and bad pickup lines to cheer you up… the cheesiest, the better!

“Do you believe in love at first sight—or should I walk by again?”

“Ken, we’ve been dating for several months now.” You would say, not holding back a grin.

Yess, he made you smile! That would definitely make him feel a little better.

But if you’re still a bit sad, he would have to come up with more solutions… like chatting about your favorite things, playing games (he would lose on purpose every time), or if the situation called for… TICKLES!

Ken would suddenly attack your belly with tickles, making you cry-laugh hysterically. This method was a bit extreme, but he loved seeing you laugh like that.

And if NOTHING worked and you were still sad (if you didn't tickle him back), then he would just… kiss you. Kiss your forehead, your cheeks, your neck, the inside and outside of your hands… everywhere he could.

And of course, he would kiss your mouth if you’d let him. Tenderly, softly, like it was the first time.

The amount of care and emotion he put into every peck of his lips helped to cure you of whatever sadness you felt, so full of unconditional love… your chest felt warm and fuzzy all of a sudden.

After the kissing session, you were finally feeling a bit better, and Ken felt triumphant! He would take you on a walk, holding your hand while you breathed some fresh air.

And of course, he would take you to the beach (obviously). Watching the plastic waves calmed you down, and Ken could finally admire a smile coming from your lips (he also wouldn't lose a chance to show off his beach skills).

But even after that, he would follow you around everywhere, not wanting to let you go just yet. He had to make sure you were feeling no less than sublime! (see what I did there? Heh)

Ken would ask if he could spend the night at your house, and if you said yes, he would gladly pamper you even more.

Brushing your hair, painting your nails (if you like having them painted), giving massages… everything! And of course, playing even more games and watching movies while you giggled and chatted along.

Ken was usually the little spoon, but seeing you had a rough day, he could make exceptions. Taking you in his arms and holding you there, petting your hair while whispering sweet "I love you..."s into your ear.

He caressed your skin until you fell asleep, and you were sure the next day would be simply amazing... for you always had Ken by your side.

Jack: Oppenheimer. He has a bit of a problem with his masculinity (daddy issues) so he low key doesn’t wanna watch a movie for little girls (he’ll probably watch it once it’s not in theatres).

Sawyer: Barbie. He’s not sorry or embarrassed. He’s excited.

Kate: Oppenheimer. She has a thing for violence. Also just kinda wants to piss Sawyer off by refusing to watch “a movie for little girls”

Sun: Barbie, she low key wanted to see Oppenheimer but Jin really wanted to see Barbie so she caved.

Jin: Barbie. Refer above. He spent 20 full minutes convincing Sun it would be the film to bring back cinema. Big Kenergy.

Claire: Barbie. Of course she would see Barbie, she has little interest in Oppenheimer and will probably never watch it.

Hurley: Barbie. He goes to see it with Sawyer. The two of them get a little too high and the whole thing will be slightly traumatizing.

Sayid: Oppenheimer. He has a slightly unnerving interest in the history behind the film. Barbie would probably be better for his mental health, but only slightly.

Juliet: Oppenheimer. She goes to see it with Kate after making fun of Sawyer. She’s one of the only ones who actually knows the history behind the movie.

Ben: Barbie. He knows it will most likely be more terrifying than Oppenheimer. He’s prepared, and yes, that is a threat.

Desmond: Barbie. He has no interest in anything violent anymore, he probably thought it was going to be a kids movie tbh.

Shannon: Barbie. She has no idea what she’s getting into. She just wants to watch a Barbie movie. She should stick to the animated ones.
