to tumblr’s trans people: I’m getting my first binder soon but I don’t know what brand to use. Which is your favorite? (I’m looking for something with a lot of compression)
If you’re cis and this shows up on your blog, PLEASE REBLOG FOR A BIGGER SAMPLE SIZE!
edit: I can’t change the poll, but after some research, it seems that gc2b’s binders are incredibly unsafe. Just want to put this here in case another trans guy is looking at this poll. Underworks seems to be the best option as far as I’ve seen from other people.

I know I can't afford it right now but I'm trying to look into getting a new binder eventually. The one I have is underworks with powernet. I have eczema hot spots on my shoulders and chest, and the bound edges are hitting those hot spots. I have a big chest. It's very painful. I'm stuck between nothing and sports bras, and my view of my body/other people's view of my body, not great.
I need recommendations for something effective for larger busted people, and comfortable for sensitive skin. Color doesn't matter, really, so long as it doesn't rip my skin open. I just need to look at prices and see what I need to do to save for it

i bought a new binder from a different company to test out and it was too small. I tried to figure out how to return it but apparently their returns from the US aren't working? But it looks like they will give me 100% store credit so I can get the size i need. but now I'm stuck with a binder too small. if anyone here or someone yall know (preferrably in the United States) need a large beige Untag binder lmk

Binder review: underworks 983 tri-top binder
tl;dr
4.5/5, great compression for me (size M), durable, i could swim in it. Only uncomfortable after wearing it for ~8+ hours, otherwise I find it fairly comfortable even when doing moderately active work (e.g. walking around a store a lot at work).
I've had this binder for a year and a half and I really love it. It gives great compression. I ordered a medium and was very pleased with how it made me look. I had the most success when I combined it with a slightly baggy button up T shirt, button up shirts that had a bit extra room at the chest so it doesn't show the exact shape. I even swam in it fairly comfortably. After wearing it for extended periods of time or regularly I sometimes get upper back pain, but that might partially be because I've gained weight since I got it and ought to order a large. If anyone's unsure about how to wash your binder, what I do is wash it using a nice smelling bar of soap. I have this one soap that smells like pine tar and it's great, the smell stays with it after I wash it. I let it air dry to avoid shrinking too much. I haven't been wearing it constantly, but recently I've worn it quite a lot.
I'm going to buy another one, really like this binder.

This is a reminder to wash your binder.
Now that I have your attention, you may be asking "how do I wash a binder?" Well, first of all, you're going to check and see if the brand you've got is machine washable. Chances are that it's not. If its not, then you're going to have to hand-wash the thing.
The three main things you're going to need is hot water, a bucket (or a plugged sink), and some soap (such as a small amount of liquid laundry detergent). Soak the binder in hot water and detergent. Make sure to vigorously rub the fabric against itself, as a big part of cleaning something is about the friction. Once you're done with that, rinse out the binder until the water runs clear. Ring out the excess water, then hang the binder somewhere to air-dry.
Most binders cannot be put in a dryer, as they are prone to shrinking in the wash. This will cause the binder to be unsafe to be worn.
For reputable binders online, check out sites like Underworks, Shapeshifters, Armor Sensory, and Spectrum Outfitters.

Anyone have any good binder recs?? Ones that’re comparable to fytist binders
I’ve tried gc2b, spectrum, and a few others I can’t remember the names of but my fytist binder is the only one that’s been like good and comfortable to wear for more than an hour and i unfortunately had only bought one before they stopped selling

my ForThem binder is dangerous because it's so good & comfy that if I'm not careful I will forget to take it off and end up wearing it for 10+ hours🙈😅😬
so, uh, friendly but insistent reminder to keep track of how long you wear your binder, set an alarm if you gotta, listen to your body, dont wear it if it hurts, et cetera et cetera~
be safe, lads!
