Solar Return Observations pt. 9: Long Edition
readings are open
take with a grain of salt
made using whole signs + 3 degree orbs or less
Tumblr media Tumblr media
💜 you could feel sleepier during years you have pisces rising in the solar chart
💜 having mars in the 12th can also indicate taking way more naps that year too
💜 years which you have mars retrograde could be years where you tackle past/buried issues
💜 mars conjunct another planet shows having to fight for your place/goals related to the house that the other planet rules (ex: leo in 11th house -> mars conjunct sun (the ruler of 11th house in this case) could mean that you have to put more effort to be included in group activities)
💜 also mars conjunct sun is a BUSY year
💜 where the asteroids forte (8780) and fama (408) land in your sr chart show the most prominent themes in your year ahead as well as the houses where leo and cancer fall
💜 conversely, the houses that capricorn and aquarius occupy are themes that you’re hung up on throughout the year, it’s hard to bring these themes to your satisfaction
💜 having the chart ruler of your juno persona chart for that year in the 12th house can indicate a loss of friends or a partner that year
💜 having pallas conjunct your 12th house ruler can show that you are constructive and productive even in times of distress or isolation throughout the year
💜 having venus trine uranus can indicate a lot of fun in the year ahead, especially with online friends, games, social media, etc…
💜 planets that trine neptune create ease/relaxation (ex: mercury trine neptune could mean less school or social stress in the year ahead)
💜 pay attention to when saturn is on the angles (asc, dsc, ic, mc), those are most likely going to be especially important years where you reach the pinnacle of some sphere in your life (the house tells you which theme/sphere)
💜 juno in the 12th house can indicate having secret admirers that year
💜 wherever aries chiron lands in your sr chart shows where you’re forced to endure and overcome wounds, there’s no escape (especially if it’s retrograde)
💜 having aries or scorpio in the 10th or mc shows breaking barriers/records that year (whether that’s on a personal or community level)
💜 similarly, having capricorn/aquarius in the mc/10th can also mean breaking records/barriers but the recognition and/or fulfillment you should receive will most likely have to wait
💜 aphrodite (1388) indicates where there’s the most drama in the year ahead
💜 having any of the work houses’ (2, 6, 10) rulers on the angles represents a culmination/fruition of a project or goal
💜 having a capricorn stellium indicates success and a likelihood of recognition having to do with the houses’ themes
💜 having gemini, libra, or taurus as your solar rising or as your rising in your ascendant pc chart for that year indicates popularity
Tumblr media
💜 moon in venusian signs also indicate popularity and possibility of attracting more lovers as well
💜 having a succedent house’s (2, 5, 8, 11) ruler in another succedent house OR having a planet in domicile/exaltation in one of these houses can indicate wealth
💜 having any wealth-related asteroids (mony, banks, gold, etc…) in sagittarius can mean a growth in finances that year
💜 having asteroid valentine (447) in the 4th house indicates a supportive home life
💜 asteroid valentine conjunct natal neptune means having really really good experiences with a lover or a good friend
💜 juno in the 8th house can indicate a secure and in-depth partnership coming your way that year
💜 jupiter conjunct pallas (solar or solar x natal) indicates a strategic plan that pays off
💜 having mercury aspect venus can mean getting more compliments that year
💜 having uranus conjunct part of fortune (solar or solar x natal) indicates an unexpected good surprise. the solar and natal house that it falls in specifies where the surprise may come in
💜 having part of fortune in your natal 9th house shows an abundance of opportunities and possible recognition (sun has joy in the 9th house)
💜 having pluto in the first house of your mc persona chart could mean a significant change in your goals/career/ambitions
💜 i recommend looking at your solar return chart ruler’s persona chart for more details about what could happen in the year ahead
💜 pluto aspecting the mc in your solar chart shows a step up in power/reputation by doing something significant
💜 having the sun placed in the 8th house in your talent asteroid (33154) pc shows doing something ground-breaking and amazing with your talents
💜 having the 7th house ruler in the 5th house means that your relationships with others bring lots of good opportunities to you (fun, travel, doing games, etc…)
💜 having aries or scorpio as the rising sign of your mc pc for that year indicates a lot of activity in your work and/or public life
💜 having a 1st house stellium can show a fresh start in the sign the stellium is in (ex: libra stellium in the 1st house can show a new beauty regiment that you take on in the year ahead)
💜 8 degrees on the ascendant can mean that you’re wayyy more determined and require more alone time as well that year
💜 having mercury in the 1st house of your dsc pc shows talking to a variety of people (the sign of mercury can show why)
💜 having the chart ruler in domicile in your dsc pc means being more popular that year
Tumblr media
hope you enjoyed!

Pick An Image • Psychic Reading • Mystery Messages for the month of May
1 right, 2 middle, 3 left.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
1.
"Hello from the otherside." Is something I heard before even pulling your cards. Your ancestors, or another entity in your sphere could be trying to contact you or has been sending you signs. I'm seeing butterflies, specifically blue ones with black on them. Or a candle being blown out by the breeze, wind chimes along with it?
Anyway! With these cards I think this month is going to be a time of self discovery and possibly discipline. You're working towards mastering a great gift, powers you didn't know you had. This gift could have carried on throughout your many lifetimes, or is something you'd forgotten from your earlier years. I think part of your past self is coming forth to offer you something, a cup of creativity and passion.
You're smarter then you likely give yourself credit for, and this month you'll be encouraged to show off your intelligence. Be careful not to let any rage take over, as you risk humiliation and destroying things that are useful to you. Instead, temper yourself, walk away and take breaks when needed, and do not be lured into any tricksters traps.
You will overcome past heart breaks. Carrying with you from now on not burdens of this painful history, but knowledge and wisdom that which you gained. With this, you will enter new friendships and relationships knowing your worth and how and when to walk away when such relationships aren't aligning with who you are now. Some of you maybe afraid of this new you, but you can trust yourself and your choices. You're growing into a powerful person, a person you'll learn to feel proud of and rightfully so! Just don't abandon your heart and emotions, we need loving people just as much as we need powerful people.
2.
There maybe a conflict going on in your life, possibly between a water sign and an earth sign (king of cups and knight of pentacles.) This conflict has caused heartache, disappointment, and confusion. As I pull the 9 of wands and the 3 of wands (dark wood tarot) I think both parties are manipulative and taunting. The king of cups could be emotionally tempting, using the emotions of others to his own advantage. While the knight of pentacles is capable of draining and controlling other people to get what they want/need.
If this is a situation outside of you, and you're witnessing two people you care for fighting like this, you may need to use your abilities as mediator to help the two see the errors of their ways (this isn't for everyone though.) If you're an individual within this conflict, then you may need to find an unbiased mediator who can correct you both.
There's a big need for self discipline, self control, and self mastery. You need to tame the ravenous side of yourself and exercise your own strength.
This conflict will be resolved and you two could recover from this if fate sees it fit. You both must learn to leave your anxieties behind you. If you both have a rough past, have had abusive exes, or something like that. You both need to overcome this and move forth to calmer waters within yourselves and then both together hand in hand. Great blessings will befall you.
Charge forth this month, assert yourself. You may be torn between head and heart, I'm seeing that when certain situations arise you'll know you need to use logic over emotion. Do not forsake your emotions however, as I'm seeing some situations will need more emotion then logic, while others need logic over emotion.
Lean into your femininity some, know when to take time to relax.
3.
Life may have cut someone from your life, this was a blessing. You may have been forced to be the one to cut this cord a long time ago, but from this separation you became strong and gained a sense of internal control. This month, I think you'll receive a blessing, possibly your manifestations that you've fought/waited so long for.
Not to get morbid, but where dead things lie grass grows greener. Where the metaphorical deaths in your life have taken place, new lush vegetation will grow! Friendship breakups? Bad relationships? Fired / cut off from a job? Left a toxic situation behind? A new and improved version of such thing will take it's place! You've alchemized the dark and light within yourself, and possibly have been using esoteric alchemy in your occult practice to bring about desired outcomes.
The sun is about to shine again in your life, have faith and look to the stars when you feel lost for guidance and answers.
Alright all, I hope these messages were helpful! Have a beautiful Month of May 🌷

Some cool Easter eggs I caught watching My Adventures with Superman that I want to show to people so they can be in on it with comic book readers
Episode 1 of My Adventures with Superman Easter Eggs and references is here
Episode 2 of My Adventures with Superman Easter Eggs and references is here
Episode 3 of My Adventures with Superman Easter Eggs and references is here
Episode 4 of My Adventures with Superman Easter Eggs and references is here
Episode 5 of My Adventures with Superman Easter Eggs and references is here
Episode 6 of My Adventures with Superman Easter Eggs and references is here
Episode 7 of My Adventures with Superman Easter Eggs and references is here and here
Episode 9 of My Adventures with Superman Easter Eggs and references is here
Episode 10 of My Adventures with Superman Easter Eggs and references is here
Apologies for the late posts, A LOT happened like Arleen Sorkin's passing and Kamen Rider Geats ending. So I needed to take a break, but I am back. SPOILERS if you havent seen episode 8 obviously.
Tumblr media
We start things off with the captured villains letting out of their prison. We got Silver Banshee, Roundhouse, Heatwave, Livewire, and then eventually we seen Ivo/Parasite and Mist who luckily escaped and is trying to get his friend and sister back. I talked more about in their respective episodes so if you want to read up more about them click on their names.
Tumblr media
Task Force X/Suicide Squad is known for exploding the heads of their prisoners teammates if they fuck up a mission (you might have seen it in the live action movies, animated movies, or even read the comics) and MAwS solution to not have it be so gory is to use shock collars.
Tumblr media
Cut to Clark who developed super hearing and has not slept for a few days and is on caffeine so he can help the people of Metropolis. The idea of Superman 24/7 has been thrown around in the comics for a while usually saying no Clark deserves a break. He needs to be Clark and not Superman when he can get the chance. If you want to check out the comics that does it I recommend reading Superman #296 to 299 (1979), Who Took the Super out of Superman by writers,Cary Bates, Elliot S. Maggins, penciler, Curt Swan, inker, Bob Oskner, colorist, Carl Gafford, and letterer Ben Oda.
Tumblr media
We see in the hologram projector/data sphere thing that Lois took from the League of Lois Lane's displaying Overman wrecking the city. I talked more about him here
Tumblr media
We then see Perry asking Lois to help out with Vicki Vale who is asked to be a guest writer on the Daily Planet, we later see in the ep that she's got ulterior motives for this. I talked a bit about her here. In the comics Vicki is usually a journalist for the Gotham Gazette and is sometimes in a relationship with Bruce Wayne. Her comic counterpart is usually very ethical when it comes to journalism much like Lois Lane, but here in MAwS, she's very conniving. Never meet your heroes sometimes I guess, huh MAwS Lois?
Tumblr media
Lois talks about the things Vicki wrote for the Gazette and name drops Queen Industries. If you know your DC universe, that is the last name of Oliver Queen aka Green Arrow.
Tumblr media
Oliver Queen and Roy Harper aka Speedy, make their first appearance in More Fun Comics #73 (1941) co-created by Mort Weisinger and George Papp who did the panel here. Robin Hood was an obvious inspiration for Oliver in terms of design but also his ethics in a sense. Despite the wealth, Oliver would be left wing and fight for the people arguably more so than Bruce Wayne. You can see in the panel that Oliver doesn't have his signature goatee you'll see that happen later when Neal Adams pencils Ollie in the Brave and the Bold #85 (1969)
Tumblr media
who also redesigned Ollies costume too. Check out Green Lantern/Green Arrow series to see Oliver's liberal stances on what was going on in the world in the early 1980s. Nowadays, Oliver's been redesigned to to wear a hood instead of the Robin Hood cap, but he's still the left wing hero that we adore
Tumblr media
Fantastic cover to the 80 years of Green Arrow hardcover book by Jim Lee, Scott Williams, and Alex Sinclair.
Tumblr media
The Falcones get a mention as one of the stories Vicki Vale wrote about. The Falcones make their first appearance in Batman #405 (1987) created by Frank Miller and David Mazzucchelli in the Batman Year One storyline.
Tumblr media
The man with the pipe in the second panel, by Frank Miller, David Mazzucchelli, Richmond Lewis, and Todd Klein, is the head of the head of the Falcones, Gotham's biggest mob family, Carmine "the Roman" Falcone. He and his family gets expanded explored in Batman: The Long Halloween. Both it and Batman Year One are fantastic reads, highly recommended.
Tumblr media
The Gotham Gazette, and in a roundabout way, Gotham, gets a name drop from Perry White. The paper make its first appearance in Batman #4 (1940) and Vicki Vale is employed by them as the photojournalist.
Tumblr media
Perry asks Lois and Jimmy to help Vicki out with a story about smearing Superman and they decide to interview people. First up is Captain Immonen who Clark saved in episode 3. The captain's last name is a reference to...
Tumblr media
comic book artist, Stuart Immonen. He's worked on various Superman-related titles like Action Comics or the Adventures of Superman.
Tumblr media
Probably the Superman book I enjoyed his work in, and highly recommend checking out for everyone who reads this is, Superman: Secret Identity (cover art here by Stuart Immonen) with writer Kurt Busiek about a teen who happens to be named Clark Kent in his world where there are no superheroes, only in the comic books, but somehow slowly develops powers on his own. Very cool non-canon story that is a fresh take on the Superman mythology.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The next interviewee I have to assume based on the credits at the end of the episode is, Mrs. Quietly who is a reference to...
Tumblr media
comic book artist, Frank Quitely. You may know his name on the New X-Men with Grant Morrison, but in terms of Superman, he was the penciler for All-Star Superman (cover by Frank Quitely and Jamie Grant)...
Tumblr media
the comic series that got an animated movie adaptation and will be the inspiration for the upcoming Superman: Legacy live action movie. The book has Superman dying thanks to Luthor and has Clark live out his final days saving the world and the future in a sense one last time. It's a great read! And speaking of Grant Morrison...
Tumblr media
Grant Morrison got their reference through the name of a pawn shop in Metropolis.
Tumblr media
Grant Morrison, fantastic writer, has worked on a lot of comics. As mentioned before Morrison worked with Frank Quitely on New X-Men but in terms of Superman, is best known for writing All-Star Superman with Quitely. Both have also worked on Batman and Robin together and equally great series if you want to see Dick Grayson as Batman try to wrangle in Damian Wayne as Robin.
Tumblr media
We see Lex Luthor Alex here as the final interviewee who says Superman is a menace for ruining his job and destroyed the building he worked in. Will he lose his hair and go into business? I don't know, but when Alex gets a confirmed last name, most likely Luthor, I'll take more about him.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Later in the episode we seen screen names, LoriLemaris59 and Bibbo87 streaming videos of Superman getting his but handed to him by Task Force X. Both names are references to characters in the Superman comics.
Tumblr media
Lori Lemaris first appeared in Superman #129 (1959) by Bill Finger, Wayne Boring, and Stan Kaye. She and Clark met in college where she posed as a wheelchair-using student and both took interest in each other, however when they're out on dates, Lori would cut the date short because of her mermaid nature. Clark tried to propose to her, but she turned him down because both are from two different worlds and it wouldn't work out. She also knew Clark was Superman because her people could read minds but she's totally cool with keeping it a secret for him. Jimmy, in MAwS, mentioned mermaids, but I did not want to point it out until we get a Lori Lemaris reference in and lo and behold it came true! The other name is a reference to Bibbo Bibbowski one of the supporting cast for Superman.
Tumblr media
Bibbo Bibbowski makes his first appearance in the Adventures of Superman #428 (1987) by Marv Wolfman, Jerry Ordway, Tom Ziuko, and John Costanza. Superman arrives at the Ace O' Club's bar asking for information on Perry White's son, Jerry who was kidnapped. Bibbo, thinking Superman is just some guy in a costume punches Superman, gets his hand busted, and finds a new respect for him.
Tumblr media
As mentioned before Task Force X is out to capture Superman as he and Mist try to save his sister and friend, but it turns out they are more than willing get revenge on Superman for their freedom. Even though in this universe they are Task Force X, a majority of the team is made up of Superman villains so in a sense you can make an argument that this is a Superman Revenge Squad. The first use of the team name is from the silver age, in Superman #94 (1961) where the squad was a group of aliens. The Superman villains teaming up together to get revenge on Superman first appeared in the Adventures of Superman #543 (1997). Parasite (Rudy Jones), who was part of that team, shares names with a Superman villain in MAwS here.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I think someone on the MAwS team is a fan of the X-Men arcade game cuz Livewire flies the same way Magneto does in that game.
Again very sorry for the delay in this, but if you made it this far down, be sure to check out my other posts about the easter eggs in My Adventures with Superman:

Bad Kids level 12 breakdown!
Returned from the Vulture Dimension and on a roll academically, the Bad Kids have hit level 12. We've got some simple updates and some complex choices, so let's break it down. In case you missed my level 11 update, check it out here!
Adaine: Wizard 12. She's increased her intelligence by 2, taking it to 20 (the max it can get without magical objects) and making her modifier +5. This increases her spell save DC, spell attack bonus, and all INT-based skills (Arcana, History, Investigation, Nature, and Religion) by 1. She can now prepare 17 spells per day (previously 15), and learns two new spells, which can be 1st-6th level.
Fabian: Fighter 6/Bard 6 (was Bard 5). He learns a new bard spell, which can be 1st-3rd level, and gets a third 3rd-level spell slot. He also gets a feature called Countercharm, which allows him to use his action to give allies within 30 ft advantage on saving throws against being charmed or frightened. He would also get Extra Attack as a level 6 Swords bard, but he already has it from being a level 5+ fighter.
Fig: HOOOO BOY FIGUEROTH FAETH. Fig is now Bard 9/Paladin 2/Warlock 1. She's lost a warlock level and gained two paladin levels. With that, she loses whatever eldritch invocations she got last level, 1 1st-level warlock spell slot, and 1 known warlock spell. She gains Divine Sense 6 times per long rest (which we saw her use this episode, German Shepherd-style!), 10 points of Lay on Hands healing, Divine Smite, an unknown fighting style, and paladin spells. Multiclass spellcasting gets a little complicated, but the basics of it is she gets a second 5th-level spell slot and can prepare 6 spells from the paladin list per day, in addition to the bard and warlock spells she knows. She can cast any of her spells with any of her slots, and only the 1 warlock slot recharges on a short rest.
Gorgug: Barbarian 6/Artificer 6 (was Artificer 5). He learns two new artificer infusions, bringing him to 6 total, and can have 3 infused items at once. His tool checks now have expertise, so double his proficiency bonus. In addition (and this happened a few episodes ago, so I apologize for missing it!), he's changed his subclass from Alchemist to Battle Smith. He loses proficiency with alchemist's tools, subclass spells (Healing Word, Ray of Sickness, Flaming Sphere, Melf's Acid Arrow), elemental elixirs, and the damage bonus for spells that deal acid/fire/necrotic/poison damage. He gains proficiency with smith's tools, subclass spells (Heroism, Shield, Branding Smite, Warding Bond), can now use INT instead of STR/DEX for weapon attack and damage rolls (his strength is higher than his intelligence, so this may not come into play), Extra Attack (which he already has), and, biggest of all, Clobica, his Steel Defender.
Kristen: Cleric 12. Kristen has taken an unknown feat--we can rule out any that increase ability scores, but beyond that no clue. My baseless guess is War Caster, which grants advantage on maintaining concentration checks, and is a very solid choice for any caster, particularly clerics, who have a lot of concentration spells. She can also now prepare 17 spells per day (previously 16).
Riz: Rogue 12. Like Adaine, Riz increased his intelligence by 2, bringing it to 18, making his modifier +4. This increases his spell save DC, spell attack bonus, and all INT-based skills (Arcana, History, Investigation, Nature, and Religion) by 1.
And across the board, everyone's HP goes up and they get another hit die. Let's see how this unfolds, please let me know if I missed anything, and see you next level!

Okay, this has been bothering me, and I'm gonna go into it, cuz I feel like being mad that the fandom didn't get better is friggin valid, so imma get negative here at some serious missed potential, if that's not your jam, 100% get it, please scroll past.
We have a season with 20 episodes, each of which are 20 minutes long. That is an unprecedented amount of time for a ninjago season- I would argue maybe too much time, but that's not what we're getting into here. Even just the first half is the length of your standard ninjago season back in the day. There is no excuse for not taking your time with ideas that deserve time. You've got time. You've got too much time.
If you're gonna do a mystical mind prison that traps you in your worst fears, you gotta do it! You can't do this wimpy half commit thing you're doing here. What is this cop out that's like three minutes long? This is a top tier trope! Loads of stories do this- for a good reason, it's a great way to get lots of new insight into your characters, not to mention have fun with environments, hypotheticals, bend logic, and do some creative filmmaking. And here you are, inventing a whole weird fictional animal to facilitate your nightmare state, and it legitimately takes up so little screen time that it hurts! What? Did you not have enough to say about your characters to fill out a full subplot? You thinking that surface level about things? Or was the basketball tournament fake out with the dragons so important to the story that you couldn't cut it out for some character introspection?
It's so short and pointless, it doesn't functionally do anything except tell us very directly "Here's what this character fears, and will have to get past this season!" No looking into why or making some progress/losing progress on the issue in the dream state. We don't even get to see everyone's visions, let alone see any interconnectivity between them. It's just such a waste of a classically exciting set up. And why on earth would you place this concept at the beginning of the season? Put it at the turning point man! That's what this scenario is made for! Literalizing characters overcoming mental challenges so that it's interesting to watch! Using the nightmare dream sphere for exposition in the most boring possible version of the trope is just dumbfounding.
I mean seriously? The black void? That's all you've got? You gonna go the Cars 2 route and set our supposedly deep nightmare sequence in a black void? No symbolism to the void even? No distorting of visuals within the void? Nothing? Can you get any more basic? Did you really put that little creativity into this? Like, the whole point of the nightmare dreamscape is to get creative! So much symbolism and messaging that you can easily tie into things! the possibilities are literally endless! But yeah, I guess Arin running in place is pretty meaningful too, I'm sure it took you a while to come up with something so profound.
There's a reason this story beat usually makes up at least half the plot of any given episode it's in! There's so much room to explore. The potential for crosscutting between nightmares is so high, drawing parallels between characters. Maybe they're all interconnected, and the mentally strongest of the team breaks free to help the others in their nightmares. Maybe it's a revelation point for the rest of the team as they see a dark past of another character they didn't know about. Or maybe it's just the audience who gets new insight into a sheltered corner of a character's mind, or a way to reveal to them a dark secret someone is hiding. You can also have fun subverting expectations, maybe one of the nightmares is just objectively pretty funny. And, the best thing about any dream environment you're creating, you can have the characters get involved in insanely creative fights and action scenes where they literally beat up their mental roadblocks with cool looking and symbolically important powers or tools.
Like, I know the fandom is losing their mind over this scene because 'omg Nya's gonna be so sad cuz of the memory loss(that hasn't even been revealed in narrative yet, so the irony doesn't even really work)' but I just need you to understand that the full fledged angst, character growth, and introspection y'all are speculating could have theoretically happened in Kai's plot is what we could have had for everyone. For a full episode. Like it deserved to be. And it would have been really cool, and really satisfying, and beautifully and symbolically stunning, because countless other people have done it, it's honestly not too difficult. Stop freaking out like they did a good job with this- they didn't do a good job with this. They couldn't even bother to give everyone a vision, they just gave up on the concept halfway through.
Not to mention how accessible and valuable this type of storytelling is to kids! Literalizing some of the big abstract issues these characters are supposedly battling this season would be a great way to get kids to grasp these ideas, but instead it's literally like two and a half minutes of slightly ominous stuff to bate us before we move on.
Stop teasing us with interesting stuff and then not actually following through! This is not how you do storytelling!

sinedd’s redesign tw: HUGE OOC (bc canon sucks)
we all should agree that he’s character is just a large waste of potential and, oh lord, I have so much to say that I don’t even know where to begin…
first of all why his writing is so poor? almost random I must say. he’s a person who just happens to be in all places at all times, making a conflicts happen for no particular reason EVEN WHEN THEY DOES NOT MAKE SENSE FOR HIS CHARACTER. for example in season 2 he runs “the sphere” himself (even if he obviously doesn’t have a basic knowledge of how to do that, I mean why should he) and writers saying that his interest in it is money?.. like wtf why should he care? why should he wants a dirty money like that, if he’s a freaking football SUPERSTAR. he have reputation, you know what I mean? and he never actually appeared to care that much about his finances, even in 1st season when he steals m-ice’s football tickets they never let us know why he does that. if he wanted some easy cash, why wouldn’t steal some cash? so this thing must’ve been something personal, isn’t it? instead he steals those tickets, that are obviously shit and everybody knows that. sinedd could never manage to sold them, because even m-ice couldn’t, so he promises to return them next morning. my point is that sinedd could never risk that much doing something obviously illegal like running a freaking fight club without strong motivation. and even if he needs money THAT bad, why they didn’t show us WHY.
all his 3rd season arc is a complete nonsense: why they ended up with mei? how did they started to date? for what reason? hating d’jok? is that even a reason? I wish I could forget this poorly written “family reunion arc” who just happened to not know that their son is a freaking football SUPERSTAR. and then he all suddenly changes for the “good guys” and makes up with d’jok who was bullying him for years. unbelievable. and, can you remind me why they became enemies in the first place? ah, you can’t! because they never showed us WHY.
I would absolutely love if he just makes a bit more sense in the show, and stop being stupid for now reason and explanation. I LOVE the part when he’s having a break down because his parents died in a war, and it’s still painful for him, even after so many years. this is very important message that writers could put in this character: some things just can’t be undone, but you need to let it go, so YOU can move on yourself. but sinned can’t, and this is his real conflict, not that he just needs some stupid money. he can’t live with his past, can’t accept that and as a result he can’t accept himself and how great he’s doing. he’s an orphan that become a football freaking SUPERSTAR. he’s a talented player, a genius in some way, that have mastered 2 fluxes in record time. he made it to final and semi-final of GF. but no matter what he achieved when he still hates himself so much. he’s worst than d’jock. he have no family or friends. he can’t get this freakin cup. and he can’t even destroy it, because he’s a coward and he loses his flux…
I wish we could see this side of him in the show.
2nd season was the perfect time to show us his lowest point of life. he was destroyed by his loss in 1st season so now he’s depressed. maybe he meets a bad company, and he starts to run “the sphere” with someone who claims to be his friend. they obviously using him, but he’s following them anyway, because he can’t stay alone with his thoughts anymore. he trying to fill this emptiness in a different ways, and that’s doesn’t help. obviously. and that’s when he meets rokket. not like they never met before, but in a new context, where they started spending lots of time together, both depressed and having good/bad time together. they get to know each other and open from a new side. they gain some sort of connection because they are compatible, they understand each others trauma and for the first time in his life, sinedd faces true understanding. then rokket quits, and it feels like betrayal, but the true betrayal only comes when he realises the truth about his “new friend” and “the sphere”
and then he loses cup again. guys this is the real drama here, he should’ve been perished by that…
but.
instead he understands that he NEEDS to change. he NEEDS to get some help, because he can’t live like this anymore, and really, he don’t want to. that’s why he’s coming back to rokket after final, to congratulate him with his victory and apologise. for the first time in his entire life. if he can change it, it means that sinedd can too! (and rokket is literally the best person to help him with that, because how much empathy and patience he has). and then all the 3rd season sinedd, step by step, trying to change from what he was, but not everyone believes in that, because how much bad he did. but he will do it, by working hard on himself, and not just suddenly getting what he wanted for all of his life (actually that was only mentioned once)
I changed his hair colour not only because it looks more cyber-y2k-ish, but to the show how unnatural he is in the beginning, and how he’s doing all this way to who he really is, accepting himself. no friendship with d’jok tho, NOW ROKKET IS OUR BEST FRIEND. I don’t want him to make up with d’jok, I want him to let go this childish rivalry and understand that he’s not worse or better, he’s just another. that’s it.

While my brains still on SWTOR I have to gush about the Sith Inquisitor. The story of a slave rising through the Imperial ranks, growing a powerbase which includes a cult and a Moff with access to a superweapon able to destroy multiple ships in a single shot, killing a Sith traditionalist who wants to kill them just because of their masters actions and then taking that Sith seat on the dark council is so good. Every SWTOR class stories hook me at some point but the Inquisitor does it the best.
Aside from the main story the companions are also great, specifically Talos Delrik and Ashora. While Ashora only works if you play the Inquisitor light side, as otherwise you've got her telling am person who kills everyone they come across that their a good person, I really like how it her conversation helps delve into the Inquisitor's own mind a bit letting you decide if their in it for the power or to change the Empire. Ashora becoming disalusioned with the Jedi and their insistence on inner peace over galactic peace and eventually admitting the Sith tennant of Peace is a lie is really good, although it would've been better suited to the main story where they're trying to corrupt her.
As for Talos his more upbeat personality is great considering the inner turmoil of Khem and Ashora and Xalek's stoicism. The best part of him though is, like Ahorsa, the development given to the Inquisitor in them having an interest in history and knowledge and getting a chance to express that intrigue with someone who shares it, especially fitting considering the Council seat they take is the sphere of knowledge.
Back to the main story and Darth Thanaton works so well as a the main villain. There's the obvious fact that he's a traditionalist Sith and your a slave who previously wouldn't have become Sith if the empire wasn't desperate for soldiers but it's moreso the fact that he, like real world traditionalists, is hypocritical. He challenges the Inquisitor to a fight between their powerbases but when he loses and the Inquisitor is about to kill him he runs away and begs the rest of the Dark Council to help him kill the Inquisitor. While some may argue this is bad writing as you've already beaten him twice, once in the battle between powerbases and earlier using the uncontrolled power of ghosts, it really works for me as the final fight is more so humiliation as you've already beaten him infront of his powerbase and now you're killing him in front of the most powerful Sith in the galaxy beating him into the ground leading to him crawling towards his fellow Councillors for help that will never come. There are only two real issues I have with the story one is how the Inquisitor's ancestor Lord Kallig just disappears after the start of Chapter 2, it would've been so much better if he at least appeared after beating Thanaton for the second time asking the Inquisitor to bind him and use his power to help defeat Kallig. The second is how, unless I missed something, they can't kill Overseer Harkun, the man who repeatedly called them a slave, tried to get them killed, tried to trick their would-be master that they failed the trials, called them a slave to their face again when they've become a Lord of the Sith and cries to Darth Thanaton that your breaking the Sith Acadamy rules by letting Xalek live and become your apprentice.

Is it fair to say Tiber Septim nuked Alinor? - The nature of Numidium as a weapon
Reposted from r/teslore. Yes. It's completely fair.
Lately, I’ve read and participated in a bunch of arguments over
whether it’s right to compare Numidium to a nuclear weapon,
whether it caused nuclear-weapon level destruction in Tiber Septim’s conquering of Summerset.
I’ve seen the argument that if you go by official Bethesda sources only, there is nothing to support 1 & 2. It’s alleged that only Michael Kirkbride’s unofficial writings support this. Specifically, this post:
Numidium's siege of Alinor: It's not the Brass God that wrecks everything so much as it is all the plane(t)s and timelines that orbit it, singing world-refusals. The Surrender of Alinor happened in one hour, but Numidium's siege lasted from the Mythic Era until long into the Fifth. Some Mirror Logicians of the Altmer fight it still in chrysalis shells that phase in and out of Tamrielic Prime, and their brethren know nothing of their purpose unless they stare too long and break their own possipoints.
That’s a reflection on how the Numidium worked in Alinor by one of the devs who wrote parts of this story about Tiber Septim and Numidium. I think it influences Bethesda official lore (as we’ll see when we get to ESO) and will continue to do so. However, we’re going to put unofficial lore aside for this post, and take a look at what the official lore says about Numidium and whether it supports the nuclear weapon comparison.
Numidium of course doesn't work like a nuclear bomb. That's not what anyone means when they're comparing it to a nuclear bomb. They're comparing it to a similarly feared horrible weapon of mass destruction. For us, the nuclear bomb represents the worst weapon imaginable, for Third Era Tamriel, it’s much the same way.
There are not many sources on Tiber Septim’s invasion of Summerset. The Pocket Guide to the Empire, First Edition, which is one of the main Tiber-era sources, is written before the Armistice with Morrowind and the invasion of Summerset. The anti-Imperialism game Redguard is also pre-Numidium, with Tiber Septim’s deputies searching Dwemer ruins for weapons. We never hear the story of the invasion from a Summerset source. We’re stuck with some very vague references. We know Tiber Septim used Numidium to conquer Summerset, but what happened there?
The Pocket Guide to the Empire, Third Edition says,
Thus, the Dominion thrived until the coming of Tiber Septim. The conquest and assimilation of Summerset into the Empire is remembered by many a living Altmer with horror only partially diminished by time. Certainly, the pride of the people has never recovered.
People argue over whether the “horror only partially diminished by time” refers to the horrific nature of the Conquest or to Altmer horror at humans conquering them. I believe that, from what we know of Numidium, it’s both, but the source here doesn’t say outright.
During the War of the Isle in 3E 110, the Maormer of Pyandonea were very nearly successful in conquering their ancient enemy, and the Altmer had to call upon the aid of the Psijics and the Empire to help defend themselves.
The Dominion’s ability to defend itself was still not restored 110 years after Numidium.
So, given how scant our sources are on the use of Numidium in Summerset, we have to look at the general cultural memory and opinion of Numidium in Tamriel, and at the one time we get a detailed canon look at its use: the Warp in the West.
Sotha Sil, quoted in the Truth in Sequence, calls it “the walking horror.”
But most profane is this: the walking horror that bears the Name, NM. The Brass Tower of Vanity. The mindless guardian of the Nirn-Prior. The Antipodal-God-Thing that reigns on the darkest pole of the sacred Nirn-Sphere. Of all the threats to Tamriel Final, NM is the greatest. Anuvanna'si. The Daedra can be banished in thought, but NM must be sundered on Nirn. It is the welded knot at the center of Anu that must be untied. The God-Puzzle. The Mainspring Ever-Wound remains silent on this point. And where there is silence, there is great wisdom.
In Where You When the Dragon Broke? the tender to the Mane speaks
You did it again with Big Walker, not once, but twice! Once at Rimmen, which we'll never learn to live with.
What happened at Rimmen with Big Walker that the Khajiit can never learn to live with? Well, there's an official Bethesda Q&A promoting Morrowind from 1999 that makes the nuclear comparison clear
Jodenjone! Don' let Marshee lie to you about Big Walker. The Blades took It from here, sure, but they din' take It back to Cyrodiil and rebuild the thing. Talos, he "annexed" a swath of our bounty-land in Ana'quinal and cleared the Khajiiti out by force. There's where he built the Hall of Colossus—a mighty name for a secret testing warehouse—and that's where Big Walker was born. And that's why that part of our Elsweyr is still poisoned glow-rock, where no cats go. Ach, for the lunacy of you Wayward Folk!
"Poisoned glow-rock". It’s not just the fans comparing Numidium to a nuclear weapon It's clear that was the devs' intention here.
The horror of the Numidium is also the foundation of the main quest of Daggerfall. Throughout the Agent’s quest, s/he receives letters from various random people and factions in game detailing the Numidium’s reputation.
The first letter the Agent gets reads
You have probably not heard the fairy tale of Numidium, but you need to. The legend dates back to the earliest parts of the third era [sic]. Numidium was supposed to be a giant so big his hands could knock the moons from the sky. I do not recall from the stories whether Numidium was supposed to be good or bad, but the legends used to scare me as a child.
Followed by another letter:
Numidium was Tiber Septim's secret weapon in his bid for supreme power: a thousand foot tall automaton, a golem or an atronach of sorts powered by a gem called the Mantella. The Mantella was infused with the life orce [sic] of Tiber Septim's Imperial Battlemage, and with it, Septim crushed all who stood in his way. After the complete and total defeat of all his opponents, Septim began using Numidium to crush the neutral royal families of Tamriel so that he could enthrone only persons he knew to be loyal. His Imperial Battlemage was furious at this use of his creation, and fought to reclaim the Mantella.
The letter writers aren’t certain how it worked or what it did exactly - which matches Tiber Septim’s secrecy, Numidium’s immediate destruction after its first big use, and the nature of a time-breaking machine that messes with people’s recollections of how things happened. But they are sure that Numidium was a horror, a weapon of mass destruction unlike anything else.
The people of the Iliac Bay would soon get a front row seat to that horror.
The Warp in the West is the only time in canon that we get extensive details on the aftermath of Numidium’s use. As could be expected from the general fear of the Numidium in the above sources, the picture isn’t pretty. We don’t know exactly how Numidium would have functioned in Summerset, but we do know that Numidium works by breaking time. The clash of many different narratives and timelines in the Iliac Bay brought about massive losses of life and property, and huge environmental damage.
The shorter account of the Warp in the West is in the Pocket Guide to the Empire, Third Edition. Bolding of phrases attesting to the destructive force of the events mine.
In the year 417, however, the province redefined itself in a most mysterious way. They call the event the Miracle of Peace. On the 10th of Frostfall, a strange force exploded over the Iliac Bay, displacing armies and decimating whole territories. Though its nature is still unknown, most Bretons believe it was the ancient Gods who had once made High Rock their home scouring the land, making it whole once again. Though it was a painful process for most - the Miracle is sometimes spoken of as the Warp in the West - the result of it is a province that is more unified than it has ever been in modern history. Where once there were a hundred small squabbling kingdoms, today, just two decades after the Miracle, there are five.
Even the ever-optimistic PGE3 admits it was a catastrophe for those who lived through it, but claims the resulting hegemonies and peace were worth it.
The Book, The Warp in the West, which is a private Blades’ report on the event is less circumspect about the details.
Speaking of the official “Miracle of Peace”:
The catastrophic destruction of landscape and property and the large loss of life attending upon this miracle is understood to have been 'tragic, and beyond mortal comprehension.'
And
The other remarkable features of these events -- mass disappearances, armies mysteriously transported hundreds of miles or completely annihilated, titanic storms and celestial phenomena, apparent local discontinuities of time -- fit comfortably into the notion that these events are part of a vast, mysterious divine intervention.
Mass disappearances of people, armies annihilated, titanic storms: all these are part of the catastrophe caused by Numidium. The Blades agents on the scene had more details. I’m quoting the bits that specifically attest to the destruction and harm caused by Numidium.
The Blades have on file few reports from agents dating from the "Warp in the West" period. Most of our agents were lost in the initial dislocations, and others were lost in the confusion after the event.
Most Blades agents in the area died or vanished in the Warp. Others fell to the after-effects.
The Report of Hammerfell Agent 'Briarbird' 'I was on assignment in the Alik'r Desert, a few miles south of Bergama on the 9th of Frostfall. I was encamped, as it was still early morning, when I felt the ground shake so violently, I was thrown to the ground. Dazed, I was aware of a great roar of a sandstorm, which alarmed me, as I had been on a high dune and had seen nothing like that on the horizon. It was on me before I was even on my knees, burying me and my camp.
The first detail on the “titanic storms”. Here, the ground shakes violently and sandstorm buries people in its way.
Briarbird continues:
When I crawled my way out of the sand, I realized that I must make haste and get to Bergama as soon as possible, as all my food and water had been swept away. The sun was just rising as I began, like I said. When I reached Bergama, it was nightfall. The town was in chaos, filled with the soldiers of Sentinel. The Lord of Bergama's fortress was in ruins.
Bergama got off better than other places, as we’ll see. The fortress is said to be in ruins the Sentinel armies have defeated its own troops (who can’t recall how or when it happened), but the town is still there.
Much unluckier is the next account:
The Report of High Rock Agent 'Graylady' ’I was, at the time of the Warp, undercover as a witch in the Skeffington Coven of Phyrgias [sic], in central High Rock. In order to give my report, I had volunteered for an expedition to gather supplies, which would allow me the freedom to reach my contact in Camlorn. I was traveling north-east along the foothills of the Wrothgarian Mountains, on the 9th of Frostfall, when I felt a great heat behind me, like a fire. I turned, but I regret to say I cannot tell you what I saw. The healers tell me my eyes were burned out of my sockets.
This bit btw, about the wave of heat, seems to be consciously modeled off accounts of Hiroshima and Nagasaki survivors.
I think I must have fallen into a state of semi-consciousness, for I distinctly remember falling as the ground seemed to give way beneath me. Then there was a series of explosions in the distance, to the south, and I heard high whistling noises that were getting louder, coming closer. I had my shield with me, and fortunately anticipated that volleys of some sort were falling from the sky. Though I could not see them, I could hear them coming from a distance away, and was able to use my shield to block them from striking me. The assault stopped suddenly, and I could smell smoke. I learned later that most of the forest of Ykalon and Phygias [sic] had caught fire, in an inferno that started further south in Daenia and the Ilessan Hills. Fortunately, I kept my bearings, and moved north, finally reaching a temple in the wilderness where my wounds were healed, as well as they could be.
People here experienced the Warp in the West as a fiery inferno and volleys coming from the sky. Even after the Warp itself ended, the forest fires that it began kept burning.
It was there I learned that there had been a three-way clash between Daggerfall, Wayrest, and Orsinium not far from where I had been, and that the land midway between their kingdoms had been decimated.'
‘Graylady’ doesn’t say that the land decimated was all wilderness or countryside, just that it’s the land midway between the kingdoms. In the heavily populated Iliac Bay, it would have included towns and villages and farms.
Lord Strale encountered a tsunami-like wave on the River Bjoulsae.
'We had just passed the delightful riverside village of Candlemass when the captain sounded the alarum. There, in front of us, was a colossal wall of water, at least thirty feet high. It smashed our barge to splinters before any of us had a chance to react. I woke up on the shore, having been rescued by one of my servants who had miraculously not lost consciousness. He and I and one other man were the only survivors.
Strale finds every town along the Bjoulsae on fire in the aftermath, with soldiers fighting along it.
there were seven great battles in the Iliac Bay, and no one could describe them at all, only their bloodsoaked aftermath
And
to summarize: on the 9th of Frostfall, there had been forty-four independent kingdoms, counties, baronies, and dukedoms surrounding the Iliac Bay, if one includes the unconquered territories of the Wrothgarian Mountains, the Dragontail Mountains, the High Rock Sea Coast, the Isle of Balfiera, and the Alik'r Desert. On the 11th of Frostfall, there were but four - Daggerfall, Sentinel, Wayrest, and Orsinium - and all the points where they met lay in ruins, as the armies continued to do battle.
And
The battles continue on, now months later, as I return to the Imperial City to make my report. What more do I have to say? They are bloody, violent clashes, as is always the case with modern warfare, but I have been to the blackened, desolate no-man's land between the four remaining kingdoms. No mortal army caused that devastation. I can say that the force that shook the Iliac Bay on the 10th of Frostfall 3E 417 was infinitesimally [sic] greater than the power these mighty kingdoms are wielding today.
Is the Numidium a nuke? No. Is it a catastrophic weapon of mass destruction, one of the worst weapons the people of Tamriel can imagine? Yes. Did it cause mass destruction in Alinor as well? Almost certainly yes. That’s how it works. It meddles with time, but not bloodlessly: Numidum retcons reality, but in the process it also burns, maims, drowns, and kills people, and destroys regions, as seen in the Warp in the West. It’s the perfect weapon to bring down an island nation that can otherwise defend itself against outside invasion.
That is why we compare it to a nuclear weapon. It's a comparison that I believe the developers intended as well, for what it's worth. And if I'm a bit over-passionate about the point, here's why. The developers went out of their way to show the horror of modern war and weapons of mass destruction. It's a bit of reality they injected into this fantasy world. I think it's worth taking in, rather than arguing that actually, Numidium isn't that bad, and it's an exaggeration to compare it to a nuke.
Even if you don't think you'd personally compare Numidium to a nuclear weapon, it should be clear that it's a quite rational comparison other people can make based on the evidence.
This post sparked some interesting and passionate discussions as well as some very angry politically-charged ones that are now thankfully deleted! You can read the full discussion here, since I don't want to copy large bits of other people's responses on to my tumblr. But I'll append some stuff I wrote in the comments.
We see something very specific with the atomic bombs, and with the TES reports of Numidium's wreckage, which I think are actuallly modeled in part on eyewitness accounts from HIroshima and Nagasaki.
Both are a horror that's incomprehensible. A single moment in which the entire world around the witness goes from normal to apocalypse without any seeming explanation or warning. The laws of reality themselves seem to bend and the earth tears itself to pieces. Nuclear war really was a historical departure from previous experiences in this regard.
If you compare historical atrocities by which was worse, the bombings in Hiroshima and Nagasaki didn't claim many lives compared to other horrifying deaths in WWII. They still haven't been followed up. All the many atrocities of the 20th and now 21st centuries haven't involved the use of nuclear weapons on populations.
But the threat of Nuclear war still stands out as something categorically different and horrible, the potential for the complete destruction of humanity in such a short time. The Numidium was probably only used once or twice in history, but it has the same terrifying potential, and is even more inexplicable to the residents of Tamriel than the nuclear bomb is to us today.
Roak67 made some interesting comments about whether we can trust certain sources, given Bethesda has retconned a lot. I replied:
You have to take any lore with a grain of salt, since it's bound to be contradicted at some point, but you're right that older sources like the Skeleton Man interview are most likely to be contradicted. However, I'd say it's important for a few reasons.
It's official lore, copyright Bethesda, and contradicts the idea that the Nuclear comparison is unofficial lore from Michael Kirkbride's pronouncements post-full-time-employment with Bethesda. Nope, the nuclear comparison was there during Morrowind development as shown by the "glow rocks".
The origin of the Halls of the Colossus has been retconned twice, first by Skeleton Man, then by ESO. However, unless there's something in the future that retcons the information Numidium was rebuilt, tested, and activated there, that lore should still stand. It's a big place with a spot for the Numidium, no matter who first built it. "Where were you when the Dragon broke?" refers back to what happened there, and continues to be in the games.
I think it was turned on in Rimmen and then went to Alinor in one incident. Breaking time is, as far as I can see, a function of the Numidium, how it works. It's possible it can work in other ways, as you've proposed, but it wouldn't be my favoured interpretation.
If Tiber Septim had better control over it - which is likely enough - I'd suggest he was still breaking time, because its advantage is getting to a place and defeating defences while the opposition is unaware, but could better direct it to hit his targets in Alinor.
About Summerset's lowered defence capabilities after Numidium.
I'm not making that assumption. That's simply the only baseline we have for the condition of the Isles post-Numidium. It's 110 years later.
However, we do know that prior to Numidium, Summerset always was able to push back invaders. According to the PGE3 at least they weren't able to after Numidium.
Did Tiber Septim use Numidium anywhere else than in Elsweyr (turning it on) and Summerset?
The legends surrounding Numidium posit that he was in the process of turning it on neutral parties, at and some point the Underking stopped him. According to the Arcturian Heresy, he didn't actually get that far. The Arcturian Heresy is clear that he only used it on Summerset Isle and the Underking destroyed it right after.
Daggerfall lore has him using it to conquer all of Tamriel, but no one after speaks of it, so I would guess that's been retconned? It's certainly been removed from later versions of the in-game book, the Real Barenziah. The Daggerfall version had the Numidium conquer Morrowind, that is gone from later games, and the new Numidium origin story is that the Tribunal gave Tiber Septim the Numidium in return for peace. All of the above leads to the lore post I've never written, but need to some day, which basically would be. "Yeah, Tiber Septim is a bad guy and he was MEANT to be a bad guy. Each TES game is learning more about stuff he did and there's rarely anything good." But it's a delicate subject, particularly since some devs. started going on like he was the best thing since sliced bread because he found CHIM. (Press X to doubt). Anyway, that's another story for another time, but the bottom line is the gods in TES are not necessarily good, they're just powerful. See every other Daedra who might help you out sometimes but has also been involved in some plot against humanity. And the Aedra aren't always nice either. Talos fits into the crowd as one of the better documented and more recent stinkers.

Why Omi would be a bad shoku warrior:
Many might think that the best choice when it comes to picking a leader would be Omi. Why? I think it's because of the fact he's kinda like the main character. Kinda. Cuz in theory there's 4 main characters and that obviously is Omi, Rai, Kim and Clay, but Omi is the first one we see, the first episode is basically focused on him realizing he’s there as a subject of teaching and not the teacher, and he probably has the most episodes that are mainly about him. He has the biggest amount of showdowns and maybe even the most quotes. He's also so fixated about being a xiaolin monk, he often talks about his honor and how he loves to fight and generally how awesome he is. Even my older sister who didn’t watch the show when asked said that Omi became a leader. Just because it suits him, right? He's ambitious, focused on his goals, this reality is everything he knows, so isn't it enough, isn't he a perfect choice? Well, no, and I will prove why *fingers cracking*
#1. Omi is too self focused, narcissistic & egocentric:
Tumblr media
Don’t say he's just confident. Being narcissistic is not the same as being confident. He's cocky, he makes fun of others (Raimundo) for their mistakes, he sees himself as the better person in everything and tends to bend what he knows is bad when he really wants to do it to fit his own fake narrative. He loves himself too much, just too much for this position. I saw a quote that said If you want to see if someone is a narcissist you have to listen to how they wish you a happy birthday or any other thing. If they make it somehow about themselves - they're narcissistic. Omi does this, and the example is how when the monks tried to corrupt Dojo with gifts to see if he knows who's gonna be wudai or shoku warrior they all gave him something... normal. Rai - A chain with letter “D”,  Kim - basket with fruits and for Clay it probably was a hat cuz I don't remember. Omi gave him a portrait of himself. Not of Dojo but of him. Narcissist 100%
#2.He wants to be better than everyone and is blinded by that:
Tumblr media
Remember when everyone got those kind of wu that were only theirs and they were supposed to like work with that one individual element? The ones they put on their hands? 😅 xD Anyway, Bean Roy knew Omi and the other monks the shortest, since he was the last “big villain" that occurred on the show. And yet he knew that his ego is so big and so prone to suggestions, especially the ones that might make him “even better" than everyone else, that he did go to his head and just whispers "Hey, u know u can use everyone's wu and u will be like super powerful after that?". That's all, he literally didn’t do anything more than that. With Raimundo when he did the same thing - he tried psychological tricks to break him, he had to search for deep things in his mind to do that. But with Omi it was a couple of sentences. A couple of words to make him go and STEAL someone’s belongings to become more powerful just for the sake of it.
#3. His weird relation with Chase Young:
Tumblr media
Now, I think that this is a valid and a solid reason on it own to not trust that boy and to not make him a leader. Because how do you imagine a shoku that lies to his friends about what he's doing in the main villain palace and he's there because he wants to SET HIM FREE from the Sphere of Yun that Jack Spicer put him in?! Like what?! He did that ONLY because he likes Chase. And there's no denial he does, because he does, let's be real. We might say “He's just naive and he sees good in everyone”, but that's not what happened there and it had nothing to do with that. He set him free just because. Cuz he likes him, he's for whatever reason almost smitten with Chase. And maybe it's because Chase is like a fallen angel - He was good but then chose to be bad and now Omi wants to make him good again because he was one of the trio that stopped Wuya back in the day and he would like to worship him as he does this with Dashi & Guan? Or maybe because Chase teases him? He's constantly talking to him, Omi knows he wants him by his side and he feels... Special? His ego is most definitely a huge part in this. 100%
#4.He's naive:
Omi is the youngest as some sources claims, but we all can agree on that I think. He might be under the age of 13 or 14 at ABSOLUTE max. I mean they're all pretty young, but there's still a difference between like 18 I would give to Raimundo at the end of the show or 19 I would give Clay and that 13 of Omi. He's young and he does not know anything about the outside world besides the temple. Maybe that's also the reason why he's so naive, but we see that many times in the show that he wants to make bad people into good ones almost in the blink of an eye. He tried that with Jack a couple of times and he almost wanted to be some sort of friends with him??? When Jack decided to join them he absolutely trusted him, which is so weird to me considering how much resentment and grudge he has and holds towards Rai for his past betrayal. Even when he proved his worth their trust, even when there was no doubt he's changed and knows better now - he still had to clap his goddamn mouth about how Rai is worse than him and the rest and he still doesn’t know if he can trust him. Yeah, but at the same time you saw nothing wrong with Jack living with you under the same roof, doing the same with Katnappe and having this weird thing going on with Chase? That makes sense Omi xDD. So yeah, he was not a good choice for a shoku at all, I hope you also see that if u didn’t before 🙂🙃.

Dear the Minecraft Flexers,
I crunched the numbers, and in order to make a 1.18 world-height netherite beacon, the absolute ULTIMATE Minecraft flex, you would have to place down 21,979,799 netherite blocks (404^3÷3-1). To craft that many netherite blocks, you need to mine 791,272,764 ancient debris, a cube of ancient debris almost a kilometer tall. For the Americans, it’s a cube about 10 lady liberties stacked atop one another.
Since the average ancient debris per chunk in the nether is ~1.65, you need to completely excavate 479,559,273 chunks, or a 350 by 350 kilometer area of the nether. For a quick size comparison for you to understand just how absolutely huge that is, this is how a square that size would look on the Moon. Every pixel represents 1 kilometer. That excavation hole would be visible on the moon, from earth, with the unaided eye. You would have to excavate all of Ireland, and north Ireland, and a bit more, just for the one netherite beacon.
Tumblr media
Assuming every bed in the nether always breaks a perfect sphere 7 blocks wide, a volume of 179 blocks, you would need the completely LUDICROUS 82,302,016,014 (82.3 Billion) beds to do the job. Over ten beds for every human alive right now. All of those beds can make a square that is wider than the entire earth just for breaking all of that nether.
Ancient debris is blastproof, so you’re gonna have to mine it all by hand. On average, a netherite pickaxe with unbreaking 3 can break 8,128 blocks before breaking without mending. Just to mine the netherite for the beacon, you need to go through 97,351 and a half unbreaking 3 netherite pickaxes, costing you yet another 389,404 ancient debris, about 40.5 million more beds, and another 7.772 km square from the nether.
Not even mentioning the 48 years and 10 months you would have to spend on mining alone, with efficiency 5 and haste 2 beacons. It is a completely, and utterly impossible feat. Unless you have 1,000 people mining ancient debris, it would only take just over 2 and a half weeks of pure mining. Realistically, with the time to get all the chests, shulker boxes, EXP farms for the mending netherite picks, setting up the haste 2 beacons, eating (in-game), blocking up lava, getting netherite for said picks, fighting nether mobs, getting the wool and wood for the beds, the travelling, actually making the hole to put the netherite pyramid in, people having breaks for sleep, school, work, and using the bathroom, it would take at least a year to complete if 1,000 players were trying their hardest to make the ultimate beacon flex.
It would be the project to end all projects to make a large server for that one purpose. Would probably be a huge thing for the Minecraft community. 1,000 players out to get a 1.18 world height pure netherite beacon. Minecraft’s biggest project. If hundreds of people watched a brit as he drained a Minecraft ocean over streams for weeks, imagine how many people would watch 1,000 people work together for Minecraft’s biggest flex ever. That would actually be a really cool idea.

This would actually be amazing, I want this to happen. /srs

OP ask game: 1 and 4?
1. Which major character do you think is most likely to die before the end of the series?
So I don’t actually know if it’s clear, but this is actually the origin story of how Franky of all fucking characters became Blorbo #1 for me. I genuinely think he sits in the Prime Killability Zone, so I’m trying to stake my territory early. If I had to compare his position to anyone it would be Wash from Firefly/Serenity. Like the Joss Whedon that haunts my brain VERY MUCH against my will says that Franky is supremely killable. Right at the start of the end. 1) he is liked in general enough that people will go aw that’s sad maybe the stakes are real for everyone else (a tension bar that will need to be established for the last fight to have teeth) but he’s not SO well liked that there will be a backlash if he dies (I know that like. Sanji’s not getting killed off. They don’t have the guts). 2) his dream’s just to like. Physically get them to Laugh Tale. So once they’re at Laugh Tale he’s kind of got no where to like, go? He did what he set out to do, which means they can totally kill him off in style. 3) he really hasn’t had much of a character arc since the timeskip, though I do still hold out that egghead’s got one more trick up it’s sleeve for him. But I think that the culmination of his character being fully self-sacrificial would be like, the last big turn in his development. 4) oh my god I just had something huge written out and then this app glitched in the formatting and I lost it all ACK. Okay. So this is going to sound biased from like, a shipping perspective, but I do genuinely mean this more neutrally. Killing off Franky helps oda to dodge the Frobin bullet in a way that still feels emotional. I know Ods’s rules on ships. He knows them. But also, he’s definitely injected quite a lot of his own heteronormative social biases onto this character. They’re “Mom and Dad” for a reason (even if I myself argue with that interpretation of both characters, it still seems to be the dominant reading of how they interact with their sphere)(but clearly a lot of the “frobin proof” is like, Oda’s subconscious utilization of the little world around him. He does not leave his house much, and he goes for easy to reach tropes, generally. The whole “if any ship has a chance at becoming canon it’s frobin” idea I see floating around stems from a similar place). And how do you develop a slightly older male character in your Gender Propaganda Text that’s always One Man Step ahead of everyone else? Where is he to go developmentally in his mid-to-late-30s? You pair him off, you put him in a relationship. But oda can’t do that because it breaks his rule. So the one major Quick and Easy way to develop this guy any further is off the table. But if they leave things wink wink vague and then kill him off, they don’t need to address that grey area. Not to go on a whole ship tangent lol. But I do genuinely think that’s the easiest path to the corner he’s written himself into with this character. Just kill him!
4. What do you think the One Piece itself actually is?
Real. Hahah no but I’m of the opinion that it’s going to be something fairly simple. My bet is like, a cool looking coin thing, something that Shueisha Entertainment can mass produce in plastic once OP is over. Like, this whole thing is about toy/merch sales at the end of the day, so it makes sense to me that the function of the one piece is to be infinitely merchandisable. Small, simple design, keychainable, printable for a sweatshirt, could even make a plushie. A single sort of gold coin thing opens up quite a lot of easy possibilities, even if I myself find it kind of…boring.
That, or it’s got something to do with the hat. A second, smaller straw hate to put on the first. Hahaha.

Favorite Final Fantasy Music (FFX)
*an overdrive bar appears and lands in the middle, summoning the number 10*
FFX is by far the coolest setting for any RPG I have ever seen. It is so incredibly unique, I have not seen anything like it. Other cool things about it? It's the first FF that wasn't 100% composed by Uematsu! This is the mainline FF that brings in my man Masashi Hamauzu, who makes a Lot of really good songs here and later. There's also Junya Nakano, but I don't know his work as much cause he's not as much of an FF guy :(
When i was making this list, something I tried to avoid and failed, was exclusively battle themes. But alas, I love the battle themes in this game so much, that they all trump any overworld/event themes in my brain😭. Please give a look at the honorable mentions for some of those that I like (and more battle themes sorry).
5. Blitz Off! Sports are battles, right? A battle between athletes? I think it counts. I also want to say: I hate Blitzball. I do NOT want to be a Blitzball when I grow up. I do however, love this song. This was the only saving grace as I tried and failed (and eventually succeeded) to beat the Luca Goers so the Aurochs could get the trophy. It's a bop, I love the boops throughout the song cause it's like little waterdrops (water sphere), not to mention the fucking BASS on this shit. It's got a fun melody, and a lot of neat instruments (like the whole game has but I feel like I've made this point with every game since VII LMAO). I love how this song goes absolutely ham, and then Right before the loop, it gives you a little bit of a quieter droning jam.
4. Fight With Seymour First of all: Fuck Seymour. This stupid blue spiky hair having ass with his dumb eyebrows and his 20 boss fights and his "ohhhhh yuna ahhhhhhhh blehhhhh" (I love Seymour and by that I mean I love to hate him he's perfect). I had heard this song before playing X and I was so excited to hear it, only to discover THAT IT ONLY PLAYS IN THE FINAL FIGHT AGAINST HIM WHICH WASN'T EVEN THE HARDEST ONE (my hope absolutely did end there). ANYWAYS. His song fucks. This song is like the One Winged Angel of FFX, because it feels like a bunch of mini compositions were made first, and then they were all put together somehow masterfully. Every instrument is super cool sounding, and this song proves that the Trash Can Lid is the greatest cymbal you could ever ask for. The keyboard goes ham the entire way through, and I feel like I'm dancing at the club (this would be if I did hypothetically dance and also go to clubs).
3. Battle Theme Remember last list when I said it was a while before I used a normal battle theme? Isn't it awesome how I'm immediately breaking that pause even further? I feel like I'm going to keep saying this, but this song is a bop!!!! All of these songs are bops. I remember initially not really feeling the MIDI ass opening, but it has absolutely grown on me over time and now it's just iconic to me. I love when after the song takes a bit to get going, the melody gets louder with a bit of a synth organ backing it, not to mention when it slows down a bit (not like, tempo wise, but in instrumentation). For some reason, that section is in my brain is attached to switching out party members (my favorite mechanic of battle), so Auron saying "Let's go." is basically an extra bit of the song to me XD. Shoutouts to synthesizers and MIDI trumpets, we absolutely love you.
2. Otherworld This is just... a song. It's a straight up metal song in my Final Fantasy, something that I would hear on the radio growing up (not actually but can you imagine??). Hearing this towards the beginning of the game was already super cool, with the Blitzball match and seeing Auron look over the city (so cool....), but then you also have it as the final boss theme????? (I know it's not the final boss but like he's BASICALLY the final boss) That's even cooler. Catch me headbanging and singing along whenever it pops up. I love the guitar shredding, and the part of the lyrics where it backs off of the super deep growl to give a sort of spoken word section that sounds like it's coming through a radio.
1. A Contest of Aeons So far, this list has mainly been "this song is on here because it is a banger" and less emotional importance, which is strange, especially after the last list. A Contest of Aeons fulfills that requirement, at long last. This song takes the main prayer song/Hymn of the Fayth, and turns it into something worthy of being a grand finale. It also plays during one of the absolute coolest boss fights ever; all of your summons/aeons sacrificing themselves so you can finally break the endless cycle the world suffers, but it also hurts so much because they have carried you through the entire game and now they have to fall to your hand. I love the constant orchestra in the back, giving the song a tense, urgent feeling. My absolute favorite part is when the choir continues to raise with the addition of the tambourine, not to mention the part right after where it sounds like pyreflies are dancing around you.
Honorable mentions go to: Prelude, Movement in Green, Mi'ihen Highroad, Assault, A Fleeting Dream, and Challenge.

i know we're all hyped about roy and jamie training sessions but i do hope the show addresses roy's tendency to angry outbursts not just around jamie but directed at him. i really thought we were past this shit but the trying to lunge at him because he assumes jamie told the team about his break up and that bullshit move of flicking food from his fork and making him clean it were just clear evidence roy's got some work to do on himself
(2/2) it feels especially shitty 'cause they had made progress and he comforted jamie after the fight with his father you would think he'd know not to do that shit and it's not like jamie doesn't react in ways that would tell roy that he maybe should watch his fucking steps because jamie doesn't laugh roy's anger when it's directed at him, he flinches, he looks scared. i'm just really hoping the writers address this pattern soon
this may sound harsh, but: this is a comedy show. in comedy, heightened reactions are quite normal. the intent is for the viewer to find the heightened reality humorous, rather than to consider the character reprehensible for it. that is just how it works.
for instance, to use a fandom darling on a show tumblr loved dearly, consider rosa diaz on brooklyn nine nine, a woman who threatened colleagues with death regularly (a credible threat from a police officer, no less) and famously told a room of her coworkers that if any harm came to her dog, she would murder everyone in the office and then kill herself. conversations have evolved surrounding that show as the copaganda discourse kicked into high gear a few years ago, but i do not remember anyone ever saying that rosa's threat was real and she needed to learn anger management -- nor do i remember anyone laying on especially thick sympathy because jake peralta had a hard childhood and was really scared of her.
in comedy, we are asked to accept that characters act and react in ways that might be problematic (original definition) in life. you have to get that in order to enjoy it as an art form. a character lunging at someone else and needing to be held back by a comically large team of people is such a disney-channel-ass overdone joke that i am shocked that anyone could be treating it seriously. (if we ARE taking it so seriously, should we go a step further and question the physical mechanics behind why roy, a two-years-retired coach played by a 42 year old man with - i'm sorry to say - limited muscular definition, would require quite so many active professional athletes to restrain him? no, because we get that this isn't meant to be hyperrealistic. in other words, it is a joke. so is flinging food on the wall.)
but furthermore, i also want to quibble with your claims about who roy is as a person and what jamie thinks of him. jamie most certainly is not scared of roy - in 3x02, he laughs when roy is yelling at the team and he says flat-out that he thinks roy's anger is funny. jamie, again, is a professional athlete at his physical peak. he is not afraid of getting flicked on the nuts by a man he called granddad. i think there's a real danger of woobifying jamie as a poor widdle victim of abuse who cannot operate with dignity in the masculine sphere of professional football and i urge you not to succumb to that mentality. jamie was a dressing room bully, he can give as good as he gets, and he plainly enjoys getting a rise out of roy for whatever reason (i like to posit that it's a very particular reason but ymmv). he spent all of season one winding roy up and calling him names. funny way to express that you're terrified of someone if you ask me.
lastly, as far as where the show is heading? it's quite clear to me that we ARE going to get to a place where roy and jamie understand each other better and communicate with less tension than they had between them at the start. the show has spelled out in explicit, unmissable dialogue that roy sees jamie as a younger version of himself. the show has also shown us that roy doesn't like himself very much and isn't convinced he deserves love. so i do think his hostility toward jamie can be understood through that lens -- and the show spoon-fed us that information about roy in the hopes that we would understand his behaviour in context. the natural conclusion of roy's arc is for him to learn to accept love and kindness in his own life, and acknowledge that he deserves it. and jamie, as an extension of his self-image, should reap the rewards of that lesson too. if you continue watching this workplace sitcom, i do hope you keep that in mind!

I finished playing Final Fantasy X (again)
October 22, 2023
Tumblr media
Game: Final Fantasy X HD Remaster First Time/Replaying: Replaying Game Time: 40 hours Console: Nintendo Switch Started: December 5, 2022 Finished: October 21, 2023
I finished this game last year in February, but some time in December I got an itch to play it again. At the time of my initial replay, I didn't have a TV so I played the entire thing on my tiny Switch screen. Now that I had somewhere to dock the Switch to, I wanted to re-experience the story again on a big TV!
So yes, I started Final Fantasy X back in December 2022 and it's taken me almost a year to finish it. In my defense, I have been playing a lot of other games! FFX was sort of just a back-burner, in-between-playthroughs type of game.
However, a few days ago I picked it up and could not put it down. Once you get past a particular area (that blasts an annoying announcement on-repeat the ENTIRE time), the game is very fun and picks up speed as the story unravels. I also decided I wasn't going to "do everything" which threw out a lot of that anxiety.
I have a PS4 now, so I thought, "If I'm going to 'do everything' I might as well go for a Platinum trophy!" I'm glad the Switch doesn't have a trophy system because it lets you enjoy the games without worrying about marking tasks off a list, but with how annoying FFX's side-quests are, if you're going to put yourself through that pain, you might as well get some sort of accolade!
I have no idea when I will start my Platinum attempt, but I really would like to try one day. I've played this game SO many times sinc eI was a kid - why not? People on Instagram telling me I should go for an easier Platinum trophy not only annoys me, but also makes me want to do it even more.
SPOILERS START HERE
Tumblr media
Anyways, the endgame of this playthrough was really exciting! I told myself I wouldn't be getting an extra aeons or any of the ultimate weapons, so it was nice just walking around, leveling up, and going into boss fight after boss fight.
Normally, I would have Yuna's ultimate weapon and her Break Damage Limit would save the day! But this time I didn't have that and I relied HEAVILY on Bahamut to save our skins.
Seymour #2 took me two attempts, the Zanarkand Guardian was one attempt, the Zanarkand Trials Glyph Monster Dude took me 3 or 4 tries, Yunalesca was one attempt (!), Seymour #3 was one attempt (!!), and Braska's Final Aeon was ALSO one attempt (!!!).
I was surprised I was able to do do the final leg of the endgame in one attempt without dying. Not to mention, whie fighting Braska's Final Aeon, he petrified Wakka and that man disappeared! I was tempted to restart the game but then I thought, "It's not like I'm getting any EXP from this fight!" So I BEAT THE GAME WITH TWO CHARACTERS ONLY. At one point, Lulu and Yuna had less than 200 HP and I was freaking out!
Tumblr media
What saving me was summoning Bahamut once, getting LUCKY AF that he didn't die, dismissing him, then using Yuna's overdrive to summon him again. I also used Auron to zombie Jecht and that helped for awhile, and I used Tidus's talk command once and that 100% saved Lulu and Yuna from dying. *THANK GOD*
Here are my final stats:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
While I was more critical of the game this time around (more on that in another post), I still enjoyed this game and it will always be special to me! It's interesting though, I used to cry a lot watching the ending of this game, but this time I didn't. It's official - I'm old lol
When you're young, losing the person you "love" seems like the end of the world, but as you get older you learn people come and go. Yuna, you are 17. You will find someone new!!!
I did, however, cry during that one scene watching Yuna's sphere of messages (after beating the Zanarkand guardian boss). IT IS SO SAD!!! 😭 I felt my throat closing up watching that (specifically the Kimahri part). KIMAHRI, YOU'RE THE BEST! I need to write a Kimahri appreciation post.
