reading lobdell's writing is really confirming that I would take a thousand runs where jason is portrayed as the amoral incarnation of the devil even from age 12 over a single one where he's robbed of his intelligence and hypercompetence. any fucking day.

one great thing about da2 archer is that if you keep firing at something as it’s coming at you and get it to low health as it reaches you, hawke will pull out a knife and often finish it in one swift move as soon as it’s on them, and that’s just hot

Dai Thomas | Myrddin
from @Camlannpod - Dai you little shit, "I'm basically a wizard!" indeed. "Welsh and bi and funny in the head", a ray of sunshine who has been worn down by 9 months of seeing everything he cares about going to pieces but is still clinging to faith with his fingernails, believing in a better world.

hot take: the ideal jason/batfamily dynamic should be him showing up to family gatherings like maleficent. "not wanted...? oh dear, what an awkward situation..."
my ideal dynamic is jason going low contact and his boundaries being at least somewhat respected (I'm trying not to be completely unrealistic) but the image of jason in full maleficent regalia pulling this is very powerful. thank you for this.

Lil Ticci Toby hcs
Toby is super fucking gross and I actually love it so much because it just makes his character so much better. This bitch is biting peeling his arm and hand skin, probably bites the shit out of his lips, grinds his already fucked looking teeth, he's also super pale because he was always kept away from people and stayed inside out of his parents fear of public hate. He's also nasty and mean, a pure little shit of a guy to everyone, sarcastic and annoying to Masky and Hoodie. Not to mention, he's super creepy and touchy with people he likes but especially Clockwork, he's all. over. her. If she's nearby, his hands on her in any way he can manage. He has different cuts and scars across his arms, hips and thighs from both himself and Clockwork.
He is a nasty fuck to me and I wish more ppl could see him the way I do

The Red Right Hand [Rugan & OC]
Chapter 11: Hard Days
Figured i'd keep writing this weekend since it seems im on a roll, so here have a chapter of everyone's favourite 'just friends with benefits, honest!' pair!!
“You have lived in the Gate all your life, but do you miss your family? You do not leave the manor very much, are there none who miss you?”
He didn’t mean to, she was certain of that, but his question very quickly burst the bubble of bright laughter and she tried not to let her smile fall too quickly as she felt the sting in her gut. In her heart of hearts she knew the answer to the question, but she wasn’t ready to admit it yet, because admitting it also meant admitting that she was glad for her mothers continued absence from her life. There was still just enough of the child in her that she felt the proper shame for this, that same part of her that had her cleaning up her mothers messes.
To her immense relief, she wasn’t forced to find an answer, Omari had seen enough to pat her gently on the arm “Perhaps there is family here hmmm?”
Grateful for the opportunity of a diversion, she wrinkled her nose and managed to smirk slightly, “What, even Holt and Parker?”
He laughed again, and she could have sworn the very air stirred with the sound as he nodded his head towards the continuation of raised voices.
“Hmm perhaps, not all families are perfect after all.”

I know rogues aren’t everyone’s cup of tea, but hell if they aren’t survivors.*  Nearly all of their core abilities are passive and don’t require recharging.  Just in the lower level class features, Expertise lets you specialize in the already extended list of proficient skills you get, Cunning Action gives you an expanded action economy, and Uncanny Dodge and Evasion reduce or negate damage altogether.
They’re also easy to customize so you can really hone your rogue’s specialty in a given area, and if you want to multiclass, they can make a pretty functional multiclass with almost any other class out there.  And sure, a lot of people like to play their rogues as edgy loners, but there’s absolutely nothing that says you have to do that.
The only thing is that there isn’t a rogue player alive who actually understands how the rules for Sneak Attack work, but then it’s like a nice personal surprise for you when the DM sighs and goes “...yeah, you would have Sneak Attack” and you get to roll a whole handful of dice at once.
*Vax’ildan of Vox Machina, who has a Constitution score of 11 and has died four times in one campaign, is an outlier but we love him all the same.
