Can you do a fluff fic where quackity has a huge crush on reader and gets jealous when the reader starts to spend more time with his flags (e.g bbh,wilbur or any of the members of the dsmp)

A/n: turns out that late-night writing does work, also, I have NFI what flags means but imma wing it This is sorta like a part two to the oblivious reader one so stay tuned for part 3 (but you don't need to read part one to understand this part)

Quackity's Battle for the Reader's Attention

Quackity laughed at your words, staring into your eyes which just sparkled like stars wherever he looked deep enough. You both had run into each other after a long day and both of you needed a break, so you both stopped your boring yet busy days to just talk. And it was great, for the most part, until somebody came over to ruin it.

"Y/N! There you are! I was wondering where you went." Said a voice, a sophisticated British one at that and two sets of footsteps, walking towards the two. Quackity's eye twitched slightly, turning his head to face the blonde boy, Tommy, and the face to the voice, Wilbur.

"Y/N! What the fuck!? You left us for him!?" Tommy whined like the child he was and pushed you away from Quackity playfully.

"Hey! Come on guys, you know I didn't mean anything by it." You laughed, ruffling the blonde boy's hair with a bright smile.

"Quackity." Wilbur greeted you with a small head nod as you and Tommy push each other around like the children you both were. "Didn't know you'd be here." Quackity nodded his head with a forced, pressed-lip smile.

"Me neither." He spoke up, a small migraine beginning to form at what would eventually be his worst nightmare.

"Why don't you hang out with us? It's just us so far but Sapnap and George said they'll be showing up." Quackity's eye twitched slightly before he smiled.

"Actually, I-"

"No, Quackity, please, you have to be there!" You cut him off before he even began his web of lies he was about to spin just to get out of it. "Please, it'll be so much fun if you're there too, please?" Quackity took a sharp breath, his eyes moving to gaze up at the British man before sighing.

"Okay, sure, Y/N, uh, if you want me to," Quackity said with a nervous smile, before his gaze shifted back to Wilbur with a glare, it's not like he had anything important to do anyways.

"Oh, that's amazing!" You clap with a smile before Tommy rams into you, pushing you off your feet with a laugh.

"Fuck you!" Wilbur laughed as Tommy continued to swear at your body on the floor, fighting like brothers. Quackity sighed and turned his head away from the scene, this was going to be a long night.

"No, I understand." You nod your head as you listen intently to the conversation at hand. Wilbur and George were taking up all of your attention which left Quackity sitting with Sapnap, although, he wasn't paying attention to him.

"Quackity? Hello? Are you even listening to me?" Sapnap asked impatiently, staring at the beanie-wearing man. He sighed and leaned back in his seat, waiting for Quackity to say something.

Quackity sighed and looked back at Sapnap. "Sorry, what were you saying?" He asked politely, taking a sip of his drink, but it was clear that he was busy in his own mind, which only caused Sapnap to roll his eyes.

"Bro, why don't you just fucking confess already?" He asked with an over-exaggerated sigh to show his annoyance. "Like he likes you! Just say something!" Quackity sighed and looked back over to you.

"But they don't." Quackity scowled slightly, watching you talk and smile with Goerge and Wilbur like they were your boyfriends. Sapnap kicks his shin from under the table making him wince.

"Quackity, go talk to him, right now," Sapnap said with a stern glare, Quackity huffed a laugh but nodded his head, getting up from the table and walking over to you and the group.

Wilbur looked at Quackity as he walked over, waving at him with a smile, you and George were still busy talking to one another with a happy and excited smile.

"Quackity, what's up man?" He asked with a polite smile, causing Quackity to cringe at himself slightly, he was really jealous over his crush talking to somebody else, what was he evening doing.

You perk up and finally notice Quackity, waving at him with a smile, George follows along as he realises he has not seen the boy.

"Quackity, when did you get there?" George joking with a laugh, you hummed and smiled at Quackity before turning back to talk to George.

You looked so happy that Quackity almost felt bad for coming over to try and steal you away from Wilbur and George, but he couldn't help but still feel his jealousy eating away at him, he would wait just a bit longer.

This was really going to be a long night for Quackity,

hi anon, im glad you like the stuff i make ;w; !!! and ohhh, sure i got tons of tips for that!.....so many that i actually wish i cld get u back here to ask what specifically about starting a story u'd want tips on but for now, i'll go for a general overview :D!!

cuz....to me (i.e. based on my writing process, which i'll be drawing heavily from for these tips), the act of Starting comes in three distinct steps, one after the other:

Idea Generation (what is the story gonna be about and how do i get ideas for that?)

Concept Organization/Outlining (how is the story going to be about this idea and how will i be executing it?)

Creation (GAH, HOW PUT WORDS ON PAGE!?!?!?)

so i'll give general tips for all three!!!

Idea Generation Tips

(this is the step that i personally have the least trouble with because my brain makes 5 new ideas every day. it's kinda a curse now because it leads to me having too many wips and concepts and only 1% of them gets to the Creation period jhvjhVJKSHFVHJS BUT ANYHOO, TIPS-)

Check Out Prompt Lists (super fun and easy way to get an idea! theres tons of story and fic prompts out there that you can search up here on tumblr, some of them being lists of lines of dialog or lists of AUs or scenarios. even if you dont follow a prompt exactly, they can be great at kickstarting ur brain into thinking of something related that you Do wanna pursue)

Open/Ask For Prompt Requests (if ur brain doesnt have any ideas, u can ask around and see if anyone ELSE has ideas theyre alright with you writing! my tot fics "reviews for Time's Antiquities, South Stellis | Average Rating: 4.8 Stars" and "but little do we know, the stars welcome him with open arms" were both inspired by anon asks i got!! to those anons who sent those asks, i owe u my life....but yea, maybe other people can give ideas to you! or, again, give Something that can inspire another thing in ur brain to take shape)

Just Ramble With A Friend (SO MANY OF MY FIC IDEAS started because i was just goofing off and playing idea volleyball with fandom buddies in our DMs (shoutout to sam samsspambox, z lukevonhagen, and beck beckthebeetle for being the main culprits of this). like, what started out as a joke conversation eventually makes go "oh no wait i actually wanna see that as a fic" and then boom, Idea Has Been Acquired. but fr, talking with another person makes your brain create things u never thought about before. it's both tons of fun to chat with a buddy as a sounding board, and it yields awesome concepts for stories!)

For Fanfic Specifically, Think About What You Want To See In Canon But Hasn't Happened And You Want It So Bad It's Driving You NUTS (this can be anything from missing scenes you wish were expanded on, scenes you wish went a different way, character relationships you wish you could see more of in canon, go nuts! the fun thing with fanfic is that it's a fertile playground for all the what-ifs, and a lot of my fics' ideas were simply found because i thought "man i know tears of themis is never gonna show me deep found fam moments/artem ptsd consequences after main story 6.2/mariluke, so imma make it myself" JHVSJDHF. ideas are hard to make sometimes, but brains are so good at desiring things. and all those desires? those can also be Ideas for a fic!)

Concept Organization/Outlining

(very much skippable if your writing style/personality is more receptive to free-wheeling!! im just the type of writer who always needs an outline to begin something. it helps me structure a raw idea with no shape into something clearer that i can envision a story for)

Outline A Rough Chain Of Events Chronologically (this can be as simple as three bullet points, what happens at the Start of the story, the Middle, and the End. or maybe you can go list down the portions of your fic according to the Freytag's Pyramid Plot Structure: Exposition, Inciting Incident, Rising Action, etc etc.)

Outline A Rough List Of Stuff You Just Want To Happen In The Fic (if your brain is like mine and isnt too great at chronological thinking, make a list of just all the plot points and events or even dialog exchanges u Want to see in the fic. you can organize it in the order u want later once uve put everything down)

Outline The Themes (moving away from plot, many stories are more focused on feelings or characterization or themes. so make a list of the Concepts you want to tackle. this is something i do for my fics that are more introspective, so i outline shit like "EVENT THAT MAKES LUKE INTERNALIZE SELF-LOATHING followed by EVENT THAT MAKES LUKE'S VIEW BE NOTICED BY ANOTHER CHARACTER")

Creation

(the worst part of writing....is the writing JAVFJVSDKHFDJHJ but nah fr this is the part i have the hardest time with, so here are tips that help me kickstart the word engine)

You Dont Have To Start Writing The Fic From The Beginning Of Its Story, Start Writing Wherever (confession: a good 75% of my fics are ones where the first scene i actually wrote down was not the start. instead, i just wrote the scene i was most excited to write. and usually thats somewhere in the middle! i do this cuz it makes my brain happy, and a happy brain is much easier to pull words from than a sad brain. plus, when i see the scene I Like Best already written, it gives me motivation to do the rest of the fic because oh my god i want everybody to sEE THIS ONE DANG SCENE!!! start writing the fic at whatever point you want, in whatever order comes most naturally to you, is my point. you can fill the rest in later, but hey, starting to write where you Want has gotten you Started. now you just gotta finish, and finishing when you already have something down is much easier than starting from 0)

Set Tiny Wordcount Goals. And When I Say Tiny, I MEAN TINY!!! (writing is intimidating but if you set a goal of say, 100 words written for a wip per day, at the end of one week, you'll have 700 words. at the end of two, you'll have 1400 words. at the end of a month, 3000. small goals help since it makes you do Something, and that Something will inevitably compound, no matter what goal uve set. and let urself be proud of the goals uve achieved!!! writer brain gets happy when you tell it it's done a good job at reaching a wordcount goal, and like i said earlier, happy brain is much easier to work with than sad brain)

Give Yourself All The Time You Need (i know this sounds counterproductive but sometimes....the best thing you can do for the part of your brain that wants to start creating....is waiting til it's ready. dont pressure yourself, cuz brain will get sad. dont be too hard on yourself, cuz brain will get sad. start when you want to start in the way that works best with your brain and see where things go, but be patient with yourself. sometims Starting is actually the longest part of writing a story and thats fine. it will happen. trust)

oooo an oldie but goodie! i haven't thought about this fic in a looong long time. i really had to go read it to double check, but "pink cheeks, two left feet" was originally a fic request based on wild side!!!

director's cut below the cut! you will get my original outline notes, the final-ish outline notes, and then general thoughts about some chapters

my original thought process:

when i started outlining the fic, it was going in a completely different (and sadder?) direction. it was basically going to be a "right person, wrong time" vibe where bella returned to forks and reunited with her old flame (jacob). during her limited time in forks, she and jacob re-hashed the past and realized they still have feelings for each other, but they don't act on it because they're currently seeing other people. when bella eventually left forks, their feelings were still unresolved.

but that was too angsty for the original request lol. it's supposed to be a slow burn/ flirty situation... so i scrapped that idea. i did write some of it anyway, so maybe one day i'll polish it up and publish it.

my actual outline notes:

because of the nature of the request, i wanted bella to be an adult adult. like cerebral cortex fully developed. so for the sake of the fic, bella moved away for college and landed a job in california. i think she's a research assistant? idk what research she's helping with, but she reads tons of books for said research and writes papers

she never gave jacob a real chance, too wrapped up in edward when she was younger, but they were always flirty with each other and stuck in a "will they won't they" situation

ultimately, i wanted the fic to end with them not necessarily getting together, but on the verge of a potential something. 

bella is literally only in forks for about 4-5 days, and each chapter more or less covers each day.

general notes/ word vomit:

overall, most of the fic is reworked scenes from either the books or the movies. if you have the books/movies basically memorized like i do, then you probably picked up on a lot of it. some are obvious, some are subtle

most of chapter 1 is lifted directly from twilight's first chapter.

for example (pink cheeks is on the left, twilight is on the right):

i have an entire document dedicated to which lines from this fic are direct references. i don't know why. i am insane

chapter 2 has a lot of new moon and eclipse references. it is literally the spaghetti dinner we were robbed of in the movies. the dish washing scene is from eclipse, when jacob visits the house to get a whiff of the vampire scent. the almost-kiss scene is another new moon reference; it's when jacob is about to kiss bella and the phone rings, interrupting them. i also live for wing-woman leah

chapter 3 is mostly original, but it has some lifts from breaking dawn. sue and charlie's wedding colors are the same colors as bella's in bd. jacob's "pink cheeks, two left" feet comment is a direct line from bd (and the fic's title, of course). the rest is literally just bella imaging all the things she wants to do to jacob

chapter 4 came about after a happy hour and i drunkenly wrote it up in my notes app. i specifically remember laughing about including the interruption from buttcrack santa. and naturally because it's a slow burn, i ended the chapter right when it was getting good lol

i genuinely don't know where chapter 5 came from. it was only supposed to be semi-spicy and i kinda took it a little further. i wrote it in one sitting and overall just had the goal that i wanted bella to have an unforgettable, um... send-off? lmfao.

soooo i'm thinking of writing an au

just gonna throw that out there so yall won't be surprised if i randomly throw a fic or seven in your faces <3

FOR REFERENCE: this is gonna be a long post of me talking about shit i wanna write, it's mostly for my future self to look back and so i have all my thoughts in one place (i'm unorganized ok) and im publishing it so it's easier to find, but this is really mostly for my personal benefit in the future but if you all find it interesting yay thats great :)

anyhow

if i /do/ write an au, and that's a big if as my irl friends know about this acc and the teasing i could endure would be /endless/, it would be:

empires s1, with maybe some traffic characters thrown in- i don't feel like wc meshes very well with empires (else i would add it), unless the witchcraft witches were like at gem's academy or s2 shubble's witch school (OOOH that's an idea in and of itself lol

probably flower husbands based, or maybe mean gills, as they're slowly clawing up my mcyt ship tierlist... i'll have to think a bit on that one, but scott will most likely be the main character, cuz he was my very very first exposure to the wonderful world of empires and mcyt in general (found him through lauren, watched ep 1 of empires s2 and was hooked)

only very loosely based on canon events, i'd more be wanting to play around with the characters. therefore, out of the 3 ideas i have (more on that in a bit) i'd be more inclined to pick the more modern-day ones- though there would be fantasy elements of course like babe its empires

i have 3 main ideas that i feel like i could use- i'll put em in a poll if yall wanna vote, more info on each of them underneath

so yeah the first two are awfully similar- the main difference being that in the first option, the characters would be teachers, and in the second, students. imma go through all these a lil more in-depth, as i have ideas for all of them and i wanna see which one you all would rather read and i shall weigh that in on which one i'll (possibly) (ALLEGEDLY) write

teachers: scott is a teacher/the headmaster (i'll decide which later) at empires university (PLACEHOLDER NAME i swear i will come up with a better one) (probably) and jimmy is a new teacher who's just come onto the scene. he continually messes things up and scott is fed up with him and so they have a CHAT but obviously scott is traumatized by something in his past probably xornoth related or relating to one of the death games (life series) and jimmy is just CUTE but scott doesn't realize it and scott goes on being dumb about it and there is ANGST and such

students: basically the same general plot, but scott lives with horrible parents and jimmy becomes a reprieve and they become like best friends but they both have a secret crush on eachother (like in trust au omdsfksjdlkf go read it right now stop reading this rambling post and go read trust au SO GOOD SLDKFJ its by @/thetomorrowshow) and eventually scott is living at jimmy's house full time (jimmy has a cod tank in his room bc ofc) and then stuff happens heehhehehe no spoilers but again: ANGST

the main deal with these is there's ANGST (but also fluff because the two go hand in hand)

war: this is the main different one sooo it's set in the original empires world, but the cod empire and rivendell have been at war for decades and scott and jimmy hate each other but THEN they like meet one day and neither realizes who the other is until too late because they've never seen each other in real life and it's blasphemy and they like each other and all that yadayadayada ANGST

ummmmm anyway that's my fucking long rambling post done good graciousness this is the longest post i've ever done- anyway let me know (or don't, again, for my personal benefit) which one you would rather read and if any of them sound engaging at all- personally, i'm leaning towards students or war over teachers, i was full-in students but now i have so many great ideas for the war one- god i'm so messed up

and we finally made it to the current decade! its nov 2021, im fresh off leaving my previous job and still getting situated in my new position, yet this show was a siren calling to me in the dark mist of my life. i ended up saving the binge watching for the week of my bday and my whole life shifted again. it must have been so alarming on the outside, seeing me go from making 1-2 edits a month to 1-2 edits a day for almost THREE MONTHS. the fact that i still cont to avg two edits/week since then... oy lol

I have been really bad at updating, I am still so excited about these but as you can read below i've been having a couple of setbacks x

The Holiday - Took me a bit to choose which scene I wanted to draw then struggled with the sketch a fair bit...although i did draw a raindow robin which is hella cute

Bookshop Girl - the next few chapters are complex as this is the one which sets up next which will be split into three parts, showing the same day from Remus, Sirius and the readers perpective. So everything has to interlink. I do have it planned out and I will be trying to get it out soon x

Apologies for the vent earlier, watched a lovely Christmas film with my family and now I’m feeling much better (well for now at least). I’m curious about this vampire au 👀

Oooohhh yes!!! OK imma put this one under a readmore because I already know it's gonna get long as fuck sjjsfjsdf

So @dusksmote is actually my really good friend and we've developed a totally ridiculous number of aus together (mostly my fault bc I'm like addicted to making elaborate aus and he indulges me every time I come up with some random idea for one lmao) in some alternate timeline we're both superpowered writing machines and they all exist as full fics 😭

But this was one of the first ones we came up with, so it has a TON of backstory and detail by this point... And also unfortunately since its pretty old, I have forgotten some bits and pieces as well.

To try and get the basics out though, Kyle and Butters are both vampires and they're both semi runaways from abusive families/institutions. Butters was training to be a priest back in like the early 1900s or something, he left the day he was meant to be ordained (hence the cassock) because the church and his parents were suffocating him, and was then turned into a vampire the same night. He's obviously not a priest - or even a catholic - anymore, but he still wears an adapted version of the outfit he "died" in purely for the theatrics jdfjsjds

Kyle is much older, and much more powerful too. He's also very tall and strong in this au. He comes from a super old lineage of "high society" vampires who would hold him to a very high standard, he was like their golden child before he left. The main reason he split away from them was over a big scandal involving Stan, who he was secretly sheltering and then fell in love with. His family were super unhappy about this and considered it him dishonouring their name and whatever else because Stan is a ghoul (he needs to drink vampire blood to survive and is very sickly when he hasn’t fed, Kyle feeds him with small doses of his own blood) and ghouls are thought of as inferior and corrupted monsters.

Stan was originally human but did have some vampire bloodline from his father... Randy is from one of those same high society families, but was exiled a long time ago. He's also the one who turns Stan into a ghoul. I won't go into details rn but this is one of many kind of "side stories" that also have a whole bunch of details in themselves jsdjsjdsd

So anyway Kyle left and took Stan with him, eventually they join with and sort of adopt Butters... Originally, the plan was to have Kyle be the one who turned Butters into a vampire back when he was still living with his family (and then he'd also take him along when he left since Butters would essentially become his responsibility). But we were uncomfortable with the implications of having a jewish character turn a white/aryan christian into a vampire, considering blood libel and all that. It's kind of bad enough having him already be a vampire, but vampire Kyle is inspired by his halloween costume from the show and we both love it too much to resist jgdhfsjfd. So we were considering other possibilities instead.... like maybe it being someone else who turned Butters, and Kyle just finds him wandering alone not knowing what happened to him or what he is now. After trying to help he ends up taking him under his wing, and Butters has nowhere else to go so he just never leaves lmao.

This is all like the long ago backstory...... can't believe I've typed this much and I'm only here LMAO 😭 At least I warned you guys sdfjsjdfsfd

Now we're at the present day (and if this was a fic it would start around here too). Cartman is a human, who Butters turns into a vampire by accident. He climbs into his bed at night with the intention to kill him and bring him back home as food for him and Kyle, but he had already started developing a little crush from following him around when he was trying to find a good target. He's super repressed as I'm sure you can imagine, and stops halfway because he starts having a gay crisis over how intimate it feels (this scene of course is based on the one in the ungroundable ajhsbfjsdf) then Cartman wakes up pushes him off. But because Cartman was bitten and not killed, he turns.

Butters actually panics and runs away after this, but he comes back the next night and Cartman manages to grab him and make him explain what the fuck is going on. After a bumpy adjustment period Cartman does eventually come to terms with it and the fact that he can’t really be a part of human society anymore, so he leaves to go live with Butters. Though he will always come back to visit his mom of course.

There is a whole complex worldbuilding thing around the types of vampires that we based off what I think was a book Dust read, I can’t remember for sure? But essentially there are like “pure” vampires who were never human and just manifested out of the darkness eons ago or something (pretty sure grandpa marsh was one of these jdhfbjsdbjsdhb), anyone turned by them is true blood, anyone turned by a true blood is mid blood, and etc. down the ladder.

So since Cartman is like 3....4....?? steps removed, his vampiric traits are all very weak. Vampire high society would regard him as very inferior as well, not much better than Stan. He does need blood occasionally but he can survive off of mostly human food, and of course he’s never going to give up KFC and junk food even though the others all think its disgusting sdjsdfshs. Since his blood is closer to a human-vampire mix, he offers to Stan once when Kyle is gone for a long time and Stan immediately throws it all up 😭

I just want to say...... Butters basically bringing home the worst stray of all time and the mental image of him standing in the doorway with Cartman behind him trying to bashfully explain what happened like “so ummm.... 🥺👉👈” (as well as Kyle’s face) is so eternally funny to me and one of my fav things about this whole au honestly.

Cartman of course was already not exactly a normal person, when is he ever 😂 and he comes with some really unusual baggage... and YES... I finally got to Kenny.

Kenny is a ghost in this au. He was Cartman’s childhood best friend who died, but his soul got attached to Cartman after he accidentally drank his ashes (lmao) and now he’s the only person who can see and hear him. He continued to age alongside Cartman too, and then also stops when he does.

Butters believes he’s real and tries to talk to him, even though he can’t see him so he’s usually speaking while facing the wrong direction jdfgjdgjsd, but everyone else just fully believes Cartman is insane. On Cartman’s part, he’s been haunted by Kenny for so long that he completely gave up trying to act normal years ago and just walks around openly talking to himself sdjfsjhfdsfjd. Kenny has been in love with him for a long time too, but never said anything because his situation made it seem futile to try when they can’t even touch each other. Actually, Kenny is my favourite part of this whole au because his storyline is both extremes of really funny and really heartbreaking, and I do love that combo......

Kenny will eventually start to slowly become corporeal, first being able to move small objects like make pieces of paper flutter or blow out candles, after a while the others will start to catch fleeting glimpses out of the corner of their eyes. Stan is the first one to see and hear him in full when he walks into the kitchen one day and Kenny is standing there, though he vanishes quickly after. Stan describes him as a “tall, skinny blonde guy who looked around our age, wearing a dirty orange parka”, and it completely freaks him out. (When Dust and I were first coming up with this part he made a joke abt Kyle later that day just sighing deeply like “Kenny’s not real Stan, go back to sleep” and I’ve been laughing about it so much recently I needed to include it here somehow jsjfhsjdhsdjsd)

They will eventually also find a way to cure Stan so that he goes back to being human, then after a few months of enjoying human life and eating junk food with Cartman, Kyle will turn him into a vampire too.

Most of what we talk about with this au is just the 5 of them living together as this really weird mix of supernatural beings, and all of the various shenanigans that come along with this. Though we did have some vague plans for a big ending involving Kyle going back to his family and bringing the others, and them all rightfully fucking up vampire high society (who are honestly just evil and deserve it) and using whatever method they found to cure Stan to do the same to all of the other ghouls who are imprisoned there.

It’s also style and bunnyman, which I somehow forgot to mention until now gjsfhsdjs but most of our aus are since we’re both obsessed.

so i’ve had this vague idea for a fic for a while and now i’m combining it with like fifteen other ideas lmao. it’s a zombie apocalypse and allies to lovers au (reader x renjun). basically the starting part of the plot (bc i lowkey might write this later and we can’t have too many spoilers can we) is that the reader and possibly a member or two or three idk lol as well are in this group of people obviously trying to survive, but they end up betraying the reader. reader then has to survive on their own for a bit, then through a wonderful encounter with some zombies, renjun and reader are forced to work together. they decide to stick together. queue the whole allies to lovers thing. slow burn because i like slow burns lol. along the way they team up with various other members lol and tHEN one day they run into the people who betrayed the reader. basically there’s some conflict and imma stop explaining here because i don’t wanna give away anymore bc i’ve been inspired to actually write this one day lol. anyways it’s pretty underdeveloped rn and ofc i didn’t write all of the plot so it’s not too exciting from what can be seen but yeah if anyone ever reads this just know that i’m working on my twists and turns skills so be ready for a ride XD

you leg it and run through to the next room, calling out for your group

you climb the stairs hoping to find them where you had left them

the rooms are empty

you run to a window and see them getting into the car

they’ve abandoned you, forcing you to be their distraction while they escape

you hear the zombies reach the room you’re in and you do the only thing you can

you climb out of the window

luckily there a cover over the front door

so you land on that and just jump to the ground

once on the ground you begin to run

not knowing where you’re going you just want to get out of range of the zombies

eventually you stop and try to figure out where you are

you don’t recognise you’re surroundings so decide to just keep walking

you don’t know how long you’re walking for but you suddenly hear a twig snap behind you

you grab your weapon and whirl around

only to come face to face with the one person you didn’t expect to see stumbling around alone

Puddles with the kiddos, family baking sessions when both are regressed, Ro wanting attention whilst Logan is reading, so climbing all over his book, how their reactions to new stuffies differ, regressed versus non-regressed birthdays.... Puddles:

this is the only one where i have to be like .. i don't think so :0 see virgil can get very nervous when it rains because he's so anxious about 'is it gonna storm? will there be thunder? will we be hit by lightning? will there be a flood? what if one of us slips and hurts our head??' that he just cannot relax enough to be able to jump around in puddles because 'WHAT IF I SLIP IM GONNA DIE' and the wetness on his skin sets off the wrong sensory feelings so jumping in muddy puddles is a no for him (as much as he loves peppa pig)

and roman is a fussy little thing, he may not care as much for his appearance when he's small but i think he will still be conscious enough to notice if he gets wet hair and muddy clothes - plus i feel like roman's mood is quite tied to the weather, on dark days he tends to fee a little more gloomy, ao again not sure about this especially if he wouldn't have his baby brother there with him

Baking:

OH BOY so roman is a great cook okay? like chef level he has honed his skills so that he can make romantic meals for handsome princes, but baking? nu uh, too technical, he ain't got time for that. Patton is the baker of the house and makes cookies and cupcakes way too often for Logan's liking (but secretly he loves them of course, he's just concerned for everybody's teeths) but both CGs will cook dinner when the boys are little

When the boys are regressed they're not allowed much in the kitchen anymore. after roman tried to make breakfast in bed for his CGs and started a very small but very real fire he has lost some kitchen rights (ficlet coming to you at some point perhaps) and is not allowed in the kitchen without at least one CG. even if he can switch so quickly between headspaces, he ends up either 1) too stubborn to come out of little space, or 2) a kittle bit clumsy when he comes out of it

but to make up for roman being upset by this slight loss of independence (he is a big kid after all) patton and he do weekly baking sessions! and there's always a theme. most recently they had animal crossing themed cupcakes, a little mermaid themed jello (not technically baking but roman wanted to but little fish gummies in the jelly), and... the next one is a secret because i might put it in chapter 7 (: in fact chapter 7 will feature the first instance of this tradition!!

virgil has pyrophobia (fear of fire) and so is never keen to be in the kitchen while there's food preparation going on (but he was allowed to help with the under the sea jello!!) so roman and pattons baking sessions are an excuse for mama and baby bonding time! the tradition didn't start until after virgil's separation anxiety from patton had eased up a little so luckily there's barely any tears

mama baby bonding time consists of but is not limited to: sitting on mama's lap, doing puzzles together, (vee trying to suck on a puzzle piece and crying when he's told not to), mama reading baby books to vee, vee touching all the textures and flaps in the baby books, snuggles

Ro wanting attention while Lo is reading:

this is 1000% canon!! later in the series logan will often be at work in his room and have the boys with him because patton is busy with something or another. they realise they really do need to keep working for thomas' sake but manage to integrate the boys' littlespaces into it. Eg. logan dangling baby plastic keys from one hand to amuse girgil while he's typing with the other

but when it's quiet time, when patton is in virgil's room because the baby is having a nap and papa wants to watch over him, when roman hasn't been little because he's been working or simply not in the mood earlier that day, when logan is just chilling, just reading a stephen hawking book in the living room, when he's literally just vibing, roman can and will launch himself into logan's lap sending the book flying and logan isn't allowed to tell him off because 'I'm little now! i want attention now!! hi mom!!!!'

New stuffies:

AHHHHHHHHH this this this is so so cute!!

roman never used to care much for soft toys before okay? before he was ever a little sure he appreciated disney action figures (he used them to block out scenes he wrote for theatre productions and screenplays and fanfiction) sure he always had a soft spot for Mrs Fluffybottom his childhood toy, but she always just sat on a shelf, he never fet the need to cuddle her or play with her

but when he realises he's little, when he starts playing with vee, when he sees how much vee cares about his soft animals, when patton and logan buy him a present to welcome him to the littlespace family and it's a golden teddy bear (soon to be named Aladdin) with big brown beady eyes and a satin crimson bow around its neck? yeah big kids love stuffies too

and now whenever roman is gifted a new toy (soft or otherwise) he essentially gets the zoomies!!! his brain is going a million miles a minute with all the game possibilities and with the excitement of NEW PRESENT!!! and with the happiness that his caregivers thought about him and he's been a good enough boy to deserve gifts?? yeah he's so so so excited he canNOT stand still he runs around the house for a whole hour flinging his new toy around (yeah he's a bit rough with them and there's been more than one torn limp or loose eye but he doesn't care it just shows how much they're loved!)

Now virgil: this boy is very very very emotionally attached to his stuffies. when he was a "dark side" he couldn't have much soft stuff because it just went against everything the household stood for and he couldn't risk the others finding out about how not-scary he really was, but he allowed himself a single stuffed rabbit that was easy to hide and that he loved with all of his being. it was his security blanket and his one item that could offer him comfort in a oanic attack and his only posession that he felt was true to him and not true to the scary facade he put up to scare thomas and the "light sides" into listening to him

without spoiling anything, that bunny was left in that house when he moved to the "light sides"

and in his new home virgil started collecting soft toys whenever he needed comfort. everytime he felt unwanted, every time he had an anxiety attack, everytime there was a thunderstorm predicted for the next week he would get himself a new soft toy because that was the only way he knew to comfort himself. needless to say he's got a pretty big collection now. you might think he became desensitized to new toys because of how many times he had gotten himself a new one, and you might be partly right.

that is until for the first time ever he is given a stuffie by someone else... when logan buys him a soft toy in apology for accidentally revealing his regression to everyone ((yes i am writing this fic!))

it wasn't really logan's fault, virgil should have been more aware he should have been more careful he should have hidden it all better but the logical side was guilt-ridden nonetheless. virgil hadn't expected much to be honest, the sincere apology was enough for him

but when logan blushed and shyly opened a box and handed him a black cat stuffie? virgil had to fight very very hard not to outright sob on the spot. he simply took it, thanked logan shakily, and prayed that logan didn't point out the fact that tears were falling onto the fluff of his new stuffed friend Jiji

now whenever he gets a new toy it's different than before - it's not because he's upset and needs comfort, it happens less often now but it's more special, it could be for a holiday or as a way of saying he's been very sweet or just because patton simply couldn't resist this one because look at its cute lil eyes! but each and everytime he knows when he is handed a new toy by one of his family members it really means 'i love you'

and he buries his face in its softness - it used to be to hide his tears, but now he just can't help but squeeze it tight and close and let the feeling of love wash over him

Birthdays:

yknow that episode of steven universe where steven wears a regal cape and a golden crown? yeah that's roman whether he's little or not

seriously this kid is very much the 'it's my birthweek!' type

lots of singing, lots of 'but i'm the birthday boy!!' to try to get thtings he really shouldn't be getting (like a third cookie) (and yes patton caves every single time) (patton is eventually banned from making decisions on romans behalf during his "birthweek")

there's not much difference at all between little romans birthday and big romans birthday, he's just an excitable boy whether he's a kiddo or not - this may or may not make the caregivers question whether maybe he actually was a little before virgil's regression was revealed

(irrelevant but patton definitely makes the pun 'you're a little? a little what? finish your sentences silly billy!')

virgil hates his birthday. hates it.

too much attention, too many things that could go wrong, too much pressure on it being a good day. what if his anxiety is bad that day? what if he doesn't want everyone watching him open presents? what if he's genuinely terrified that people think walking towards him with a big grin, singing at him, and carrying a cakeful of literal fire is a somehow a fun activity??

when he first moved into the house he made it very clear that he does not have a birthday so don't even try to throw him a party

naturally roman and patton were devastated, but after a failed attempt at getting virgil to enjoy his birthday they obeyed logan's request that they not try to push the idea on virgil any further

but the first birthday after they become a little family, it's a bit different

they don't push it, not at first, but virgil does wake up to patton already in his room and cooing at him adoringly , immediately sending him into his regressed headspace

then he's given a new soft toy. that wasn't so bad

then roman let him choose what disney film they watched. that wasnt bad either

then logan cuddled him for an hour and they might have fallen asleep together not noticing the smell of vanilla coming from the kitchen

then there was a new paci, a new rattle, another new soft toy, and cake cut up into tiny squares so he could nibble on it with his fingers

there was no loud singing no big surprises no bright lights or fire or anything else that he hated about birthdays

there was only love and toys and comfort. so virgil really didn't mind birthdays much after that

I fell in love with all your Huwumi AUs! My favourite ones ended up being Reaper AU and Parental!Fuyumi AU. In both I would love to see Touya being added to the story to create that family drama with his whole disappearance and eventually a wholesome family reunion😭 I crave family moments, especially between siblings. The manga doesn’t show nearly enough interaction Fuyumi and Touya had considering how these two were the closest in age and I thought that they would have had each other’s back🤔

Also, I really wanna ramble about Touya and Fuyumi so Imma put some of this under a “Read More’ because, oh Anon, I got some feelings about them!

I’ve been working out the outline for Reaper AU and making some changes for this specific reason! I really love getting to focus on family ties in both what I consume and what I produce. Without giving too much away, I’m planning to make Touya a more central character/ amp up his role for that fic, so I can promise a lot of good stuff with them there! And for Parental Fuyumi AU I have big plans for the lil shit, too, though he’ll be more just chaotic good than outright awful in that one! x3

Now, in regards to canon, I get why we haven’t necessarily gotten a lot of focus on the relationships between the other Todoroki siblings, even if I don’t really like it. Neither Fuyumi nor Natsuo are in the business of Hero-ing, so they’re typically only brought out to use when necessary. If I’m being honest, I feel like we’d probably have more details about that if either of them had decided to become a Pro Hero.

And, can I just say, how interesting could that have been? Pro Hero Fuyumi??? Like, I’m just imagining Pro Hero Fuyumi who works in the underground, maybe taken under Aizawa’s wing and taught how to just fuck shit up??? Maybe she specializes in checking out the backgrounds of other Pro Heroes, to make sure they’re good behind the scenes and she’s excellent at it because she’s lived that life??? Oh, or!!! What if Fuyumi got the Half-Hot, Half-Hot Quirk but Enji wouldn’t train her because he believed that, as a woman, she wouldn’t be able to surpass All Might as well as a male heir? So then Fuyumi begins training herself on how to properly use her Quirk on her own, so that when Rei is pregnant with Natsuo/ Shouto, she can help them with their Quirk if either of them gets the same Quirk? And then leads to her bonding with Shouto and maybe protecting him from Rei during her episode? Or maybe ending with Fuyumi having the physical scar and Shouto being wracked with guilt over harming two of the most important people in his life? Leaving him feeling like he can never be a Pro Hero because he couldn’t protect them? And maybe giving some focus to Touya and how he feels like a failure for not helping his mother more or protecting his sister and brothers better? Oh, geez, I need to stop or I’ll end up writing either or both of these...

That said, though, I wish we got more. I’d like to learn more about Touya and his relationship with his younger siblings. I mean, it’d be very easy to just present it as Fuyumi and Natsuo reminiscing with Shouto because he asked about the brother he never really got to know. It’d be a great way to give us more information about him, as well as giving us a really soft and tender moment between the still-healing younger siblings.

Now, in regards to Touya and Fuyumi...

I absolutely believe they were the closest siblings, both due to being close in age as well as what I think their personalities were most like. I read their relationship as being a lot like two of my own characters - Alaric and Liliana - where they will tease each other constantly but if you lay one finger on their sibling they will end you, bucko. Touya was most likely a snarky lil brat with a lot of aggression and resentment, where Fuyumi was patient and considerate, helping to balance him out. Fuyumi being one of the only members of their family that could talk him down from one of his fits, as well as being the only one with the bravery to call him out when he’s overreacting, is another main stay of why they’re so close. Touya knows his behavior can imitate their father and is eternal grateful to his sister for helping him to keep from going too far. I also think that they’d be the two prone to butting heads the most as they get older because of the conflicting personalities as well as having such dramatically different views on their situation at home.

Touya is pessimistic about it all, seeing no chance for healing. Fuyumi, meanwhile, is optimistic and sees forgiveness and healing as the only option. Given how young they are, I feel like they wouldn’t be able to see a specific middle ground where both their views meet in the middle yet.

I also love the idea that Fuyumi was the only one Touya said goodbye to when he left. And she begged him to stay, to help her make things better, but he refused. He refused and he tore into her as he left, shouting about how she’d end up just as broken as their mother if she kept trying to force a redemption that would never happen into being. Fuyumi is devastated by not only his words but his absence, and throws herself head-first into trying to look after Natsuo and Shouto as best as she can. At first, she dedicates herself to being a good older siblings, and then tries to become a pseudo-parent once Rei is sent away.

I also love the idea that this final exchange between them led them to new discoveries about themselves.

For Fuyumi, she comes to realize just how much she loves helping and nurturing others. While it’s not the best of situations, she falls into tending to her brothers very naturally. She’s a compassionate and patient person generally so she is a great fit for dealing with unruly children. She wants to be a mother someday, sure, but she loves seeing how her brothers’ eyes light up when they solve a hard homework question or pass a test. She comes to the realization that she wants to be able to help other kids like she can help them, that she would love to have a classroom full of little faces to help teach.

And for Touya? It’s an uglier thing, but he revels in it once he has the realization. Seeing how broken and hurt he’d left his sister had been surprisingly satisfying. As if he had finally made someone else feel the way he did all those days in the training room, with Endeavor’s shadow looming over him like some untouchable beast. He likes having that same kind of power, of being the one to dish out that same kind of pain. So, perhaps he starts testing the waters to see how far he can push it before he feels bad for it...

What a year its been...

This is my one and only chance to say it but 2nd Feb marks the day I decided to fully join the Choices fandom on tumblr. My little blog is one year old! Brace yourself, this is the story of how I came to be... like an X-Men origin story but weirder, not as cool, way more tacky and severely lacking Hugh Jackman

I actually downloaded the app in January and started by playing HSS, unknowingly buying diamonds with the few that PB gives us to start with. When I quickly realised I had to BUY diamonds to keep playing I was like HELL NAH! At this point I’d never spent any real money on an app before and I wasn’t about to start now. 

That is until I started playing TRR.... 

I started playing what would become by favourite book just as a way to get diamonds for HSS because I was determined to finish that one to the end. I stuck to my guns, tapping half heartedly through the chapters, not really reading the dialogue until we got to the scene in the Beaumont mansion where we had the option to follow Drake to see what the Beaumonts were up to and I was like huh there’s more to this plot than meets the eye. So much more shit that went down behind the scenes and immediately resolved to pay closer attention to the book. 

Still wasn’t buying diamonds though. I thought Max was a hoot, Hana was a delicate flower, and Liam was sweet - the tag line for book 1 was something like ‘Will you win the prince’s hand or will you fall for another?’ and I was like Of course imma snag that prince coz he’s MUTHAEFFING THE PRINCE WEREN”T YOU PAYING ATTENTION!’ 

Still not keen on Drake though. And I was missing so much of the main storyline (and his) by not paying I was like OK FINE I’LL BUY INTO IT JUST THIS ONCE

Still living on that poor uni student life so I only bought the scenes I REALLY REALLY thought were worth it. And that was not many. It didn’t take me until the scene at the Lythikos when I realised hmm it weird we didn’t get to kiss that Drake guy, I’ve kissed Liam but not him like???? 

Anyways the Liam playthrough was getting kinda boring like mm kay you’re never around but for some reason you’re obsessed with MC (and I didn’t know it was called MC, I just called her Althea which was Liz’s OG name which never really suited her IMO) so I tried to focus more on the other parts of the story  was kinda non-plussed, like well that was fun i guess...? LIke he’s cute but he doesn’t really set me on fire.. Mkay lets try this Drake dude and see whats up with him. 

K cool so I wzs playing the game (or rather the game was playing me) focusing more on Drakey boi THEN IT HIT ME I was like damn wow theres a lot to this dude I don’t notice right away when mindlessly tapping through, like his sarcastic humour and guarded nature - I’ve always loved characters like that (I’d just finished my obsession with Cassandra Clare’s Infernal Devices series and he reminded me of Will for some odd reason) then we got to the Beaumont scene AGAIN and I was like GODDAMN THE ANGST IS GOOD HERE (didn’t buy the study scene so my dumbass missed out on kissing DW... AGAIN) 

I made it all the way to the finale with out that scene and when I realised I hadn’t had that first kiss, I was mad and restarted the book (we’re on restart 2 btw) and obsessively bought all the Drake diamond scenes. My fam was out of the country so I binged the whole thing in like a day or two after which I was overwhelmed with a lot of feelings and emotions that I didn’t know what to do with and I just sat there trying to process them and failing like 

THEN I WENT ON TO TUMBLR...

And I binged all of @mrswalkerwrites and @angstymarshmallow‘s drake fics but I just couldn’t take it. I STILL HAD THE FEELS AND IF I DIDN”T DO SOMETHING SOON I WAS GONNA SPONTANEOUSLY COMBUST

Then I came across a theory by @chantelle-x0x who wondered like what IF Drake secretly knew how to waltz but didn’t wanna teach MC coz he was in love with her and THAT DID IT

IT WAS LIKE I WAS POSSESSED I COULD SEE THE WHOLE SCENE PLAYING OUT IN MY HEAD PERFECTLY AND I NEEDED NEEDED TO GET THIS ONTO PAPER. It was a blur writing that first piece and a race against time before the insporation ran out, I hadn’t had a strike of creativity like this since my Hobbit fanfic days and I was determined to see this through. 

After I was done, it was 2am and I didn’t know what the fuck I was doing so I unknowingly posted it up on tumblr under the name Waltz Time and peaced tf out and passed tf out only to wake up to almost a hundred notes overnight like 

People actually LIKE my ramblings..? They are saying nice things about my brain fart.. what..? I don’t know how to process these emotions and now I have MORE emotions???? 

Then I reblogged a couple of things, made a playlist that I’m sure nobody cared about, started a mini series that I didn’t intend to get so long. But the more content I saw the more I needed, it was like a new drug, a new obsession like no other and when I saw people like @choicessa and @boneandfur writing such amazing fics I was just like WOW I wanna try to do that too

And on 2nd Feb, I posted No Turning Back and finally converted this to a choices blog and the rest is history.

I was humbled and stoked to learn that I had a fangirl when @quartzandarrow sent me a message about my The Revelation Series (which I still intend to finish... eventually) and that I had a mysterious stalker in @ooo-barff-ooo who had been silently following me since the early days when Waltz Time was all that was on my masterlist and TRUly knows my blog better than I do. 

Especially my Team Thirsty gals @quartzandarrow @drakewalkerwhipped @choicessa whom I consider internet sisters and talk to every day - I don’t know what I’d do without them. 

I’ve learned so much and grown so much as a writer and I just want to thank you all for supporting me and being my friend despite how inconsistent I am. I’ve got lots of things planned for the next year so hopefully you’ll consider checking them out ahah

I just want this to be a part of her character background so bad. Just scenes with her encountering villains or smalltime gangs and being like “dude we were neighbors I went through the same shit you did fam. Don't do this.”

Shenanigans, Movie nights to binge the Rocky series only to end up too pumped to sleep so they all start training like crazy(Bakubro included), youtube channels, Todoroki secretly being messy af and joining the Tea Party where the ladies plus Todoroki spill tea and throw shade EVERYWHERE (all the best news comes from there), Bakugo growing and awkwardly trying to show his appreciation for his classmates and also awkwardly trying to mend his relationship with Deku (teen angst at it’s best and Deku is unsure of how to handle it but Uraraka and Kirishima help the dumbasses), Mina and Uraraka explore their sexuality together bc fuck you if they aint bisexual queens at the very least, Uraraka being one of the few willing to back talk Bakugo so she passive aggressively gives him nicknames like he gives her until he starts calling people by their names(like sweetie bc his sweat smells like burnt caramel, he calls her peaches sometimes bc of her country accent and a couple of other things if ya know what I mean) and eventually the whole class gets in on the nicknaming stuff and Bakugo is Sick Of People Stealing His Shit, Urarakas twang and Todoroki’s education in modern slang because explaining to him what being messy means and spilling tea is funny af (he starts using it all the time in a super awkward way “I believe that this situation calls for some messy retaliation” with long deadpan stares), how many of these kids can't wink and just give you long awkward blinks, teacher appreciation day gifts that get all the way out of hand (Aizawa gets the benign noise cancelling headphones and death wish coffee and then someone sends him a bottle of tequila and he wants to know which fucking child got a hold of alcohol to both admonish and thank them. Poor all might gets all the medicine, who’s idea was it to give present mic a loud mic and youtube channel why he’s already too loud please make it stop), someone gives Bakugo spicy chocolate cookies for valentines day and he doesn't want the sentiment but hot damn those cookies are fucking delicious, the kids get into American music because present mic recommends it to help with learning English and that's all fine and dandy until the kids start hosting death matches with Denzel curry’s Ultimate as the match song and wow how many of these songs have so much profanity please stop (just because you’re swearing in English kids doesn't mean some people still won’t know you’re swearing), Sex Ed Class for the kids (wow what trauma, what drama, Aizawa you are not giving the sex ed seminar they will get too scared. you will monitor Midnight as she gives the lesson. All might go have a cup of tea and try not to think of the kids having sex because golly they’re all still wee babes), Teachers shipping students and other staff lounge gossip, Spin the bottle truth or dare where the dare is always make out with the people you want to fight, Momo is cleaning out her closet and giving away clothes so please let the mad fight over who can get more clothes from her giveaway ensue(Uraraka is poor and on a mission, who know when she’ll be able to get clothes as nice as these again? she might enlist the help of some of her guy friends and she might also float all the clothes she wants to the ceiling out of reach of anyone else), BNHA girls using snapchat and momo’s closet to recreate Beyonce music videos and killing it (I really just want to see 7/11, the suck on my balls shtick, and Sorry because it’s a whole lotta friends hangin out and being sassy), WHO LET THESE KIDS WATCH South Park.  y’know.
