Interesting how about 2 months ago ppl on this app were trying to cancel finnster for being bait and being transphobic bc of "bait" even though they previously mentioned they were already on hrt and they previously mentioned they were still a little unsure but they knew they were not cis, all of that has been known for a loooong time, yet ppl still called their whole identity bait... Now that they have come out can everyone please stop trying to egg crack people irl. We all should know by now that it takes a while to understand one's identity ESPECIALLY when you find out ur gender if fluid or flux. I'm flux and very very cis presenting irl (since my gender mostly varies from different shades of femme but also goes into the creature territory like 30% of the time) and I would be very peeved if someone tried to egg crack me (specifically bc ppl still see creatures as invalid) it isn't your business, people do not owe you their gender identity, you do not owe others your gender identity either...
It also goes to show that people just don't pay attention to actual gender identity, all the egg crackers do is cause discord around labels. Labels aren't anything but tools to understand someone, they aren't made to replace actual identity. Finnster has been out about all of their gender identity for a long long time, they just didn't want to label themselves (and from some posts I've seen trying to cancel them, this was one of the biggest problems people had with them) you don't need to say "hello world, I am genderfluid" in those exact words to identify as genderfluid. It's just weird how people literally went "they said they aren't cis, but they didn't say specifically what their label is so I'm going to disregard them explicitly coming out as not cis and call them cis", because how can you use that as a way to call them transphobic when that line of reasoning is hella truscum. "They are taking HRT for the bit", you are the reason why people think HRT is easy to access furthering people to want to make it more inaccessible. You can't take HRT without going through a million different hoops. That should have already been enough as a come out already. They have such a big platform it makes sense that they would need time to figure out who they actually are before coming out...
Anyways let's stop egg cracking and label obsessing in 2024

April 13, 2024
Three years ago today (just before two in the afternoon), I had a stray thought at work and suddenly realized I was trans. Two months later, I was deemed healthy enough to start HRT, and, well...
Three years in, I find myself happier than I've ever been, with a partner making (less than subtle) plans to propose, and with a face and body I actually like when looking in the mirror (having D cups of my own certainly helps the ol' self esteem).
Never give up. Never surrender.

"You're so lucky you had Mommy to help you realize the pretty girl you were always meant to be."
"Mommy," I start, almost whispering the question, "how did you help me find out?"
"By doing the same things we do today, silly. All of those fun videos that make your head all fuzzy, the special pills Mommy feeds you to make your breasts bigger and more sensitive, and of course, having you look in the mirror and seeing exactly what I see- a girl."
"Not to mention all the other things Mommy does with you." Your smirk is practically predatory as you tap your acrylic nail against my plastic cage. I wince. "I mean, it wouldn't feel as good as it did if you really were a boy. Boys don't have tight little cunts like you. Boys don't have caged-up little clits like you."
Your lips are inches from my ear. Your hands are on my tits. "Boys don't beg for Mommy to breed them like you do.~ So...?" You linger on the question, eyeing me.
Finally, there's some dim recognition shining through the fog, "So... I must be a girl, right?"
"Such a smart little tranny," You let out before pouncing.

Reasons I thought I couldn't be a man part 1
- I like having long pretty hair sometimes (what kind of childlike logic is that)
- I facetuned myself & looked like an incel and I didn't like it (valid but mean)
- I'm attracted to my current body type (but I don't feel comfortable in it so wtf)
- I experience the same forms of social and biological suffering as women (why do I want to base my identity on my suffering?)
- I grew up relating to and looking up to butch women (valid but they were the closest gender presentation to how I felt at the time and I ALSO strongly related to the 1 trans man I ever saw in media)
- Gender is a construct and I should just be nonbinary and accept that people will read me and treat me as a woman anyway and really I'm the transphobic one for not accepting that I can be nonbinary
- Men are bad and boring (gender essentialism based on the societal pressures that funnel men toward becoming their most personality-devoid and abusive selves)
- Women can be anything! Including people who hate being read as and treated like women!
- I'm not brave enough to deal with the medical hoops, social alienation, and likely physical danger this will put me through (still true but the dysphoria is getting worse than the fear)

There are many pieces of media that cracked my egg, but I have to admit that one of them was “Hedwig and the Angry Inch.” But not in the way that I think even I realized at the time.
I was still exploring gender and gender nonconformity, and the song I keep returning to is “The Origin of Love.” At the time, I thought it was a love song, and it is.
But I keep looking at the figure at the end of the song’s animation: a face, two eyes, no mouth, split down the center.
Perhaps the popular reading is that it represents two separate individuals, and I was left wondering where my other half was, and whether they were a boy or a girl or neither. But now I’m realizing that maybe I was always just one great, rolling keg of a person, that I was always a man and a woman, a child of the moon, rolled up in one and this entire time I was just looking for myself.
My problem with the song was that I don’t ascribe to the idea that one needs another person in order to be complete, but now, I’m realizing that this entire realization was Hedwig’s journey to complete herself, as well. Wow, I’m a dummy.
While it is flawed, in other ways it really is such a beautiful queer movie with many reads, and idk, I was just thinking about that a bit.
